- 0:01John chapter 2. Let us pray.
- 0:06O Heavenly Father, your good Father.
- 0:09Lord, we love you. We love you, Jesus, for all the
- 0:13many blessings that you've already bestowed upon us.
- 0:16Lord, we get out of our own way. Lord, we lay prostate at your
- 0:21feet. Lord, we are asking for a touch.
- 0:24Father, we are asking that you will heal us in the name of
- 0:28Jesus. Lord, I pray that you will help
- 0:31us today as we go about our day. Lord, I pray that as we
- 0:36acknowledge you today, Father, you will direct our steps.
- 0:40Lord, I pray that we can hear you, we can hear that still
- 0:45small voice. God, nudge us into greatness.
- 0:50Father, help us to know what to do and when to do it and how to
- 0:54do it. God, we put our hand to the
- 0:56plow. Lord, we lock eyes with you.
- 0:59Father, I pray against distractions in the name of
- 1:02Jesus. Lord, I pray that we will not be
- 1:05disturbed. In the name of Jesus, I pray
- 1:08that we will be resolute, Father, that we will be
- 1:12steadfast in our obedience, God. And I pray that you increase our
- 1:17love for you, increase our love for our neighbor.
- 1:21God, I pray that you'll help us to finish this race well.
- 1:25Help us God, to be your hands and feet.
- 1:29Help us, Lord, to have compassion for the masses.
- 1:33God, I pray for every nation, every people group, every
- 1:37tongue, God, every language. God, I pray that the good news
- 1:41goes out to all people. Lord, I pray that you will help
- 1:45us to make the decision, God, to follow you each and every day
- 1:49for every moment. Completely sold out.
- 1:52God to the King of kings and the servant of servants.
- 1:56Lord, we love, King Jesus, you are our everything.
- 2:01We hang on your every word. We study your movements.
- 2:05Lord, we want to mirror our lives after your ministry.
- 2:10And so Jesus Christ, you're the cornerstone.
- 2:13Jesus Christ, you are the firm foundation.
- 2:16Jesus Christ, you are the rock that we are built upon.
- 2:20Lord, let us produce fruit today that is in accordance to your
- 2:25Holy Scriptures. Lord, let us have peace and
- 2:28patience and love God for our neighbors.
- 2:32Lord, I pray that you'll help us.
- 2:36God, help us today. Help us to understand these
- 2:40scriptures. Help us to understand these
- 2:43words. Lord, heal our broken bodies,
- 2:46heal broken marriages. God, bring the prodigals home.
- 2:51Father, in the name of Jesus, help us, Lord, to know how to
- 2:56steward the resources that you have entrusted to us.
- 2:59God, let us be faithful with the little Lord.
- 3:03And Lord, I pray that you'll increase the dominion that you
- 3:06have given us. God, I pray that we'll be good
- 3:10stewards of all the many blessings that you give us.
- 3:13And Lord, I pray that we can hear you, Lord, and that we know
- 3:17what to do. And God, let us obey these
- 3:20scriptures today. And Jesus Christ, holy and
- 3:24precious name, I pray, Amen. Well, let's start in verse one.
- 3:31And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee, and
- 3:36the mother of Jesus was there. So here we go.
- 3:41The third day, perhaps this was a couple days after the calling
- 3:46of his disciples. He had a small band of them at
- 3:49this time. It was not the complete 12 yet.
- 3:52And here this is Jesus's very first public miracle, friends,
- 3:59and we know that Mary is there with him, his mother.
- 4:03Let's see how this goes. Verse 2 and both Jesus was
- 4:08called and his disciples to the marriage.
- 4:11So we know that Jesus loved people and he loved them well.
- 4:17And we see that even though he had all the hardships that he
- 4:22knew he was to endure, he was able to go into enjoy this
- 4:30wedding. And what a vision for us.
- 4:34What a call for us. Friends, in the midst of all of
- 4:38the chaos and the turmoil, we can have peace.
- 4:42Friends, I pray that your relationship with God through
- 4:46His Son Jesus Christ brings you the peace.
- 4:51This surpasses all understanding.
- 4:53In the midst of all of the turmoil, in the tumult that is
- 4:59raging all around us, all the birth pains and contractions,
- 5:03Friends, we can rest and we can have peace in the midst of it.
- 5:09We're in the eye of the storm. When we are connected to the
- 5:12vine, we can have that peace. Friends, take that peace today.
- 5:18Verse 3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus said
- 5:23unto him, they have no wine. This is actual wine friends,
- 5:35this is not grape juice. This is wine that has been
- 5:39diluted though, So what a a balance that we must see.
- 5:44We cannot be steeped in alcoholism and be drunk friends,
- 5:50what a sin that is. But we can also not err in the
- 5:54traditionalism of the fundamentals who think that this
- 5:58is just grape juice. This is wine friends.
- 6:03Verse 4 Jesus said unto her, woman, what have I to do with
- 6:10you? My hour is not yet come.
- 6:14So verse 4, Jesus knows that his mother here and his relationship
- 6:25is about to change. He's not calling her a
- 6:31derogatory term by saying woman, but he's also not referring to
- 6:37her as mother. So you could see it is in this
- 6:42moment that the relationship with his maternal mother changes
- 6:50and he sees that he must go to the Father and he can only do
- 6:56what the Father instructs him to do in this moment.
- 7:00And Mary has seen all of the things that have precluded this
- 7:07moment where Jesus has been baptized by John the Baptist.
- 7:13Mary knows that he's starting to get his disciples together.
- 7:18She's treasured all these things up in her heart.
- 7:22And here she is telling him that whatever the Father tells him to
- 7:30do, that is what he needs to do. So Jesus here is wrestling, and
- 7:39Jesus here is about to obey his mother, and at the same time he
- 7:46must only do what his father tells him to do.
- 7:50Let's see how the story goes. Five, His mother said unto the
- 7:58servants, whatsoever he says unto you, do it.
- 8:03So she's not demanding a miracle.
- 8:07His mother here is not trying to manipulate the situation, she is
- 8:13giving it into Jesus's hands. And we would do well, friends,
- 8:19to model this behavior. We take everything, all of our
- 8:24issues, all of our grievances, all of the perceived lack that
- 8:29is in our house, and we take it to Jesus and we completely give
- 8:36it over to Him. We lay it at His feet and we
- 8:40refuse to pick it up. And whatever His decision is
- 8:45that is based upon the communion that He has with the Father is
- 8:51the best decision. And that is where Mary is at.
- 8:54She looks to the servants and says whatever He says, do it.
- 9:00And she raised this child from birth, a Immaculate Conception,
- 9:08this virgin birth. She has raised this child who
- 9:13she has she has been perplexed by in the sense that she's
- 9:19treasured all of the prophecies about him in her heart.
- 9:23And now she knows that he is capable.
- 9:27She knows that he can do anything and there is faith
- 9:32involved and she must get to the place where she no longer sees
- 9:37him as her child and she sees him as Lord.
- 9:43Can you say that about Jesus? He's not just your friend,
- 9:47buddy. He's not just your pal guy.
- 9:50He is Lord, He is Adonai, He is our El Shaddai, He is all
- 10:00powerful, He is all encapsulating.
- 10:04It is by the breath of His mouth that everything is created and
- 10:07sustained. He is our everything.
- 10:12And this is where Mary, His maternal mother, must get to.
- 10:19Whatever He says, you do it. 6 And there were set there 6 water
- 10:25pots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews,
- 10:29containing 2 or 3 firkins apiece, 20 or 30 gallons apiece.
- 10:36Perhaps these water jars were of different variants of height and
- 10:43size, but we know that they were between 20 to 30 gallons.
- 10:48And let's see what Jesus says. 7 Jesus says unto them, Fill the
- 10:57water pots with water, and they filled them up to the brim.
- 11:02That is what we must do. We cannot just be filled halfway
- 11:06with the Holy Spirit. We cannot just be filled a
- 11:09little with the Holy Spirit. We must be filled to the brim,
- 11:13friends, overflowing, friends, as we move and as we have our
- 11:19being and as we are in this world, we're overflowing because
- 11:24we are filled to the brim. Let your spirit spill out into
- 11:29the streets, friends, and let others get a taste and see that
- 11:33the Lord is good. Let's see what happens here as
- 11:37the servants are getting the blessing of being part of
- 11:42Jesus's very first miracle, and that is part of God's plan.
- 11:48Look at how many times throughout the Bible it is while
- 11:53men were working that God placed His calling upon them.
- 11:57Look at how these servants were there to serve and they got to
- 12:02partake in Jesus's very first miracle.
- 12:06It's no different. We cannot just sit on the
- 12:08sidelines as bystanders, just as observers, casually engaged.
- 12:15We must get in the game. We must put our hand to the
- 12:19plow. We must be found serving him.
- 12:22We are just but unprofitable servants, friends.
- 12:27We're bondservants. We are yoked with him, and we
- 12:31can only do what He empowers us to do in the supernatural.
- 12:38A and he said unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the
- 12:42governor of the feast, And they bore it. 9 And when the ruler of
- 12:47the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not
- 12:53where it was from, but the servants which drew the water,
- 12:57new, the governor of the feast called the bridegroom. 10 And he
- 13:01said unto him, Every man at the beginning does set forth good
- 13:07wine, and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse,
- 13:14But you have kept the good wine until now.
- 13:17You can see in the natural this would be with this would have
- 13:22been and made the most amount of sense that people in the
- 13:26beginning would have been more scrupulous in their tasting.
- 13:30But as time went on, and as they were more in bibayed and as they
- 13:35were more relaxed, worse quality could be brought out without
- 13:43being suspected, without being known, without being detected by
- 13:48the guests. And here you can see how the
- 13:53enemy works, friends. He promises us the best upfront,
- 13:57but as time goes on, we only get the death sentence that he can
- 14:04only deliver. He is to steal, kill and
- 14:07destroy. And we see that in the beginning
- 14:10it looks ripe and it looks sweet.
- 14:14And here we're going to see how this ends. 11 This beginning of
- 14:30miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee and manifested forth his
- 14:36glory, and his disciples believed on him.
- 14:39They attached themselves to him. We could see that the way of the
- 14:43Lord here is that we must have the lesser quality now because
- 14:51we only get to taste in heaven in part now.
- 14:55But when we get to heaven, we're going to get the good wine.
- 14:59We're going to get the best wine.
- 15:00We're going to get to drink from the fruit of the vine at the
- 15:03marriage supper with the lamb, friends.
- 15:07And it is going to far surpass any of the joy, any of our
- 15:13happiness. Anything that we could ever
- 15:15taste here on this earth is just microscopic in comparison to the
- 15:21fullness that we will one day enjoy with our Bridegroom.
- 15:27I pray that you are adorning yourself and getting ready.
- 15:31Make yourself ready. Look up and see that your
- 15:34redemption is drawing near. You can see that it is on the
- 15:37cusp, friends, and we are closer today than we were yesterday.
- 15:42I hope that you are looking forward to drinking of the fruit
- 15:46of the vine with our bridegroom, with the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 15:52And you can see here that his disciples believed on him.
- 15:55This was not a casual believing. This was not just them being
- 16:01spectacularly amazed. This is them attaching and
- 16:07becoming one with Him. And you can see as time goes on
- 16:15they say, where else would we go?
- 16:18And that is started here in this first miracle.
- 16:21They knew that Jesus was not just a rogue St. preacher, but
- 16:26he was authentically the Son of God, the long-awaited Messiah.
- 16:3512 After this he went down to Capernaum, he and his mother and
- 16:40his brothers and his disciples, and they continued there not
- 16:44many days. So we can see here this marriage
- 16:49at Cana, the first miracle of Jesus.
- 16:52He still is halfway attached to his family and then he is
- 17:00starting his earthly ministry that's going to last for three
- 17:04years. And he was on a divine timeline,
- 17:08friends. He knew that all of it was going
- 17:10to culminate on the Passover week of the 3rd year where he
- 17:14would be offered up as the spotless lamb to take away the
- 17:20sin of the whole world. Friends, He knew it.
- 17:25And here, this is when that divine timeline started.
- 17:31Perhaps Joseph, his stepfather, perhaps he was out of the
- 17:38picture. A lot of scholars believed that
- 17:40he had died, that Jesus had to take up as the oldest son.
- 17:45He had to take up the responsibility of providing for
- 17:51for his mother and for his siblings.
- 17:53And here you can see that they're all mentioned, the
- 17:56mother and the brothers. And then you can see the slow
- 18:00increase of Jesus pulling away and the relationship changing,
- 18:05and you can see him amassing his disciples to himself. 13 And the
- 18:13Jews, Passover was at hand and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
- 18:20So John here, he's mentioned the Jews a couple time, but John
- 18:25himself was a Jew. And so you can see that his
- 18:29audience here as he's writing this gospel would have been for
- 18:33those that weren't primarily familiar with the customs of the
- 18:40Jews. So here again he was talking
- 18:42about the purification water pots.
- 18:45And then here again he's talking about the Passover.
- 18:49And so Jesus is going up to Jerusalem.
- 18:51This was when he went in for his Passion week.
- 18:54It was not the first time that he had entered into Jerusalem.
- 18:58And we can see here in John's gospel at the very beginning of
- 19:02his ministry. And then we know through the
- 19:04other gospels, at the very end of his ministry, Jesus went in
- 19:09and purified the temple and flipped over the tables and
- 19:15drove out the money changers. Friends, and that's what we must
- 19:18do is we consecrate the temple. Do you not know that you are the
- 19:22temple of the Lord? Friends, those of us who have
- 19:26been indwelled with the Holy Spirit, who have had our baptism
- 19:30by fire, do you not realize that you are the temple of God?
- 19:35And He desires to drive out all of the things that do not
- 19:39belong? And you can see it was on His
- 19:42mind at the beginning of His ministry, and it was on His mind
- 19:45at the end of the ministry. And it would seem as if the
- 19:49moment that Jesus left the scene, they went right back to
- 19:52business as usual. They were awaiting for a
- 19:56Messiah. They had the Messiah, especially
- 20:00during the Passover. They had their long-awaited
- 20:03Messiah on their mind, the one that they thought was coming in
- 20:07to overthrow the Roman rule. And hear Jesus.
- 20:13After he cleanses the temple, he goes back out and lives a normal
- 20:19life as a wanderer. Who is?
- 20:26Misunderstood at best. And they were wanting a king to
- 20:32come in. They were wanting to even make
- 20:34him king, and Jesus would not allow it.
- 20:38And he went out into the wilderness and he went out to
- 20:42camp and he went from town to town, and it was nothing like
- 20:46what they wanted or expected. Let's see how this beginning of
- 20:51Jesus's ministry is going to turn out. 14 And found in the
- 20:57temple those that sold ox and sheep and doves and money
- 21:01changers sitting. 15 And when he had made a scourge of small
- 21:06cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep and
- 21:11the ox, and poured out the changers money and overthrew the
- 21:16tables. He has all authority.
- 21:19Friends. Jesus has every single right to
- 21:24go in to the temple and drive out anything that is impure and
- 21:29unclean and that is no different for us today.
- 21:33Give him full access to your database and all your files.
- 21:39Give him full access. Give him your passkey.
- 21:42Give him your code. Give Him all authority over your
- 21:47very breath and life and mind friends, and watch how He
- 21:52cleanses it and watch how He comes in and how He gives you
- 21:58peace that surpasses all understanding and understanding
- 22:02friends, that is greater than anything you could ever desire.
- 22:08He's going to allow you to have the mind of Christ as you
- 22:13operate in this world. You'll see the whole world
- 22:17through the lens of how Jesus does.
- 22:19Your worldview will be His view on how things are going all over
- 22:27the globe and you will not be blown by every wind and tossed
- 22:32by every wave. You will be resolute in your
- 22:35steadfast obedience to Jesus Christ when you allow Him to
- 22:41have full access to the temple. Friends, consecrate it and get
- 22:45rid of anything that is not of Him.
- 22:50Confess all the times that you've got it wrong.
- 22:54Repent and turn back. Allow him in.
- 22:58Allow him to take up residence. Do not just compartmentalize
- 23:03your spirituality with Jesus Christ.
- 23:05Do not just compartmentalize the access that you give to him.
- 23:11Give him full access and watch how He drives out every impure
- 23:17and unclean spirit and thing and thought and emotion that you
- 23:22have allowed in all of the lies of the enemy.
- 23:26How the Adversary is the accuser of the Brethren, and how he
- 23:30consistently bombards us with lies.
- 23:34And he is the Father of lies. And his whole goal is to steal,
- 23:39kill and destroy. And if we give him an inch, if
- 23:42we even crack the door, he's coming all the way in.
- 23:46And we must drive that out by allowing Jesus to take up full
- 23:50residence. We cannot just have Jesus in
- 23:55part. We must have him in the full if
- 23:58we're going to take advantage of the abundant life that He has
- 24:01promised us. And get rid of the depression
- 24:04and get rid of the anxiety. Get rid of the suicidal spirit.
- 24:08Get rid of the asphyxiating spirit that tries to choke us
- 24:14out of the fruitfulness that God has for us.
- 24:17Friends, we must do things the way that He desires.
- 24:22We must be connected to Him. We must be connected to the vine
- 24:26and bear much fruit. Friends, that is the whole point
- 24:30of the whole passage is to allow Jesus in and do not allow the
- 24:38money changers to set up shop on your heart and your mind.
- 24:43We've got to supersede and get outside of the greed and get
- 24:48outside of the almighty dollar and we must allow Jesus Christ
- 24:54to have full residence and be almighty God over our lives.
- 25:00And Jesus never made it about money in His ministry.
- 25:04He never made it about that. He knows that we need it, but we
- 25:09must rely on Him daily for Our Daily Bread.
- 25:13Give us today Our Daily Bread. Jesus 16 and said unto them that
- 25:22so doves, take these things from here.
- 25:25Do not make my Father's house a House of merchandise.
- 25:29And that is what he tells you, and that's what he tells me.
- 25:32Your life is way more than the money that you have.
- 25:35Your life is way more than how much money you can make.
- 25:39Your life is way more than what your bank account says.
- 25:43You could be in the negative, but you are going to bust heaven
- 25:46wide open, and your inheritance is way far more superior than
- 25:51anything that this life could ever offer you.
- 25:55We must get connected to Him and see this world the way that He
- 25:59does, see our finances the way that He does.
- 26:02Friends. 17 And his disciples remembered that it was written,
- 26:08The zeal of your house has eaten me up.
- 26:11Has the zeal of God's house eaten you up?
- 26:14Friends, I pray that it has. I pray that the zeal of the
- 26:18Father's house has consumed you. It has eaten you up.
- 26:23I pray that you were wrecked by His presence.
- 26:27I pray that you are undone and you will never be the same.
- 26:32Those of us who have completely sold out our entire lives to the
- 26:37King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, and we're not playing
- 26:40games that this is the reality and we have stepped in to the
- 26:45fullness of what God has for us, trusting Him for our very next
- 26:48breath. Then the zeal will eat you up.
- 26:53You could never be the same, you could never go back to your
- 26:56vomit. Friends 18 Then answered the
- 27:05Jews, and said unto him, What sign do you show us, seeing that
- 27:10you do these things? So as Jesus is going in and
- 27:13flipping over the money changers, and as Jesus is going
- 27:16in and making a scourge of cords and driving them out, they are
- 27:22sitting on the sidelines and they are wanting to know by what
- 27:26authority do you come in here and drive us out?
- 27:30And they knew that he had done nothing illegal in the sense
- 27:35because it was greed that had eaten them up.
- 27:41And what was supposed to be a convenience had a steep
- 27:47convenience fee attached to it as the people came in to make
- 27:52their sacrifices, instead of having to bring the animal from
- 27:58wherever they were from, they could just come into the court
- 28:02of the Gentiles where they were supposed to be.
- 28:04The teaching and the prayer for those to come in and learn about
- 28:08Jehovah, to learn about Yahweh. And instead they had turned it
- 28:13into some kind of merchandise shop.
- 28:18And so here they are. They know that they are in the
- 28:21wrong. And so they don't even try to
- 28:26push back against what Jesus has done.
- 28:28They just want to know by what authority does he think this
- 28:32rogue St. Preacher, this carpenter's son,
- 28:35this son of Joseph from Nazareth, where do you think you
- 28:40get your authority? And what they wanted to hear is
- 28:43Him pronouncing that moment, I am the Messiah.
- 28:46But instead, what does He do? He gives them a paradoxical
- 28:50response that hides His deity from them but reveals it to
- 28:55those who will earnestly seek it.
- 28:58And it is no different. That is the reason that He uses
- 29:00the term Son of Man so much. It was something that would not
- 29:05necessarily give Him away to those who were not actually
- 29:11seeking, and that is no different for us today.
- 29:14Jesus does not want false allegiance.
- 29:18He could in a moment's notice, instantaneously 8 billion souls
- 29:24fall down and worship Him. He can raise up sons to Abraham
- 29:28from the stones. He can make the rocks cry out
- 29:32friends, in a moment. But He doesn't.
- 29:37And what a thought. Why would He not?
- 29:40Doesn't He want us to have eternal life with Him?
- 29:45Doesn't He want them to place their full faith and trust in
- 29:49Him? But the reality is that Jesus
- 29:52Christ does not want false allegiance and love to Him.
- 29:59He is a wonderful bridegroom who never forces Himself on us.
- 30:07And here you can see that these men did not truly want to know
- 30:13if He was the Messiah. They wanted to keep their little
- 30:17merchandise scandal scam going on their little Ponzi scheme.
- 30:24They wanted to keep it going. And they were in love with evil
- 30:28more than they loved the truth, because the truth was in their
- 30:32midst, and they refused to see it. 19 Jesus answered and said
- 30:40unto them, Destroyed this temple, and in three days I will
- 30:45raise it up. So they wanted a sign And we
- 30:50know that he talks about the sign of Jonah being three days
- 30:55in the belly of the whale and being resurrected on the third
- 31:00day. And here he tells them that if
- 31:03they destroy the temple, which he's saying that he is far
- 31:08superior to any man made material temple, that he is the
- 31:17authenticated temple and that we must come to him and he's saying
- 31:23destroy it and I'll rebuild it. But they were only thinking in
- 31:27the natural and it's no different for us today and our
- 31:30day and our our friends. There are so many people who
- 31:34refuse to see the truth because they're so wrapped up in the
- 31:38natural and they will tell you all kinds of worldly wise man
- 31:47advice and they miss it. They missed the whole point.
- 31:55To them, it's shrouded in shrewdness.
- 31:59But the reality is, we must trust God for everything,
- 32:04always. And yes, He does call us to
- 32:08steward our finances well and to trust Him in the process.
- 32:14But every single dollar, every single time that you get paid,
- 32:20you must go to the Father and ask him what it is that he wants
- 32:24you to do with it. We cannot just get steeped in
- 32:29traditionalism. We cannot get steeped in the
- 32:32fundamentals. We cannot just get steeped in
- 32:35the ceremony. We cannot just get steeped in
- 32:40legalism. We must be yoked up with Him and
- 32:47worship Him in spirit and truth, friends.
- 32:51And that's what he's going to tell the Samaritan woman, that
- 32:56no longer will they worship in the temple, but we will become
- 32:59the temple friends, and we must worship Him in spirited truth.
- 33:04And every single time that we have any increase, we must take
- 33:09it to the Father, the first fruits to the Father, and ask
- 33:13him what it is that he wants us to do with it.
- 33:17And that is what pleases him. 20 then said to Jews, 46 years was
- 33:28this temple in building and will you rear it up in three days?
- 33:34He said it took us 46 years to complete this second temple.
- 33:44Do you think that you could build it in three days?
- 33:46And look at how they missed it. And it's no different, friends,
- 33:50when we're reading scripture and we're only thinking of it from
- 33:56the natural, and we're trusting our emotions and we're trusting
- 34:00what the circumstances around whatever issue plagues you, you
- 34:06must get outside of that and realize that God can do
- 34:10anything. He is not limited.
- 34:13He is not limited. He can do anything, friends. 21
- 34:25But he spoke of the temple of his body.
- 34:27So the gospel writer John, he wanted us to know not to just
- 34:35close the book after reading it and reading that last passage,
- 34:40but he wanted us to know the truth.
- 34:42And isn't it just like God? God is so gracious to reveal to
- 34:46us His inner motives and how He truly thinks about all of the
- 34:51natural, all of the things all around us.
- 34:54Friends, He was Speaking of His body. 22 When therefore He was
- 35:01risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that he had
- 35:05said this unto them, and they believed the Scripture and the
- 35:09Word which Jesus had said. Look at how it took after Jesus
- 35:15was brutally murdered and after Jesus was resurrected and
- 35:20ascended that they remembered this moment.
- 35:24And it meant much more to them after that.
- 35:27And perhaps it was after Pentecost when they had received
- 35:30the Holy Spirit and they had received the understanding that
- 35:34you and I are Privy to, that we actually have the indwelling
- 35:38helper, the Advocate, who comes and gives us discernment.
- 35:42Friends, I pray that you increase that discernment today.
- 35:47I pray that you don't sear your conscience today.
- 35:50I pray that you don't grieve the Spirit today.
- 35:53I pray that you tap into that power source and allow Him to
- 35:56guide you. Walk in the Spirit, friends, and
- 35:59don't satisfy the lust of the flesh.
- 36:01Just remember that the pride of life, the lust of the eyes, and
- 36:06the lust of the flesh are not from God.
- 36:08We must walk in the Spirit, friends.
- 36:10We must walk in the light, walk in truth, and watch how God, God
- 36:15is leading us home from glory to glory.
- 36:18Hallelujah, Amen. 23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the
- 36:27Passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name when they
- 36:33saw the miracles which He did. So we know that the book of
- 36:39John, the Gospel of John, is going to record 7 miracles for
- 36:43us. And here he's referencing them.
- 36:46And you can see here that it was in Jerusalem that the people
- 36:51were believing on him because they were seeing these miracles.
- 36:56And you can see that Jesus was not impressed. 24 But Jesus did
- 37:07not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men.
- 37:11He knows the inner motives. And again, he's not looking for
- 37:15the false allegiance. He wants true, sold out, born
- 37:23again, blood bought believers who love him and who trust him
- 37:28and who hear him, His sheep hear his voice.
- 37:32He's not looking just for the pseudo believers who only follow
- 37:39him for the miracles. They only follow him to get
- 37:42their bellies full. They only follow him because of
- 37:46the power that's connected to him.
- 37:48And that is the wrong approach, friends.
- 37:50And there are many like that today who are only propagating
- 37:54Jesus for prophet. He's not impressed. 25 and
- 38:00needed not that any should testify of man, for he knew what
- 38:05was in man. There is nothing good in US, no,
- 38:08not one thing, friends, all of our righteousnesses, but filthy
- 38:12rags. And we must come to Him and know
- 38:16that we are in desperate need, that we are sinners, and that we
- 38:22are in desperate need of salvation.
- 38:26And we cannot save ourselves and we cannot behave our way into
- 38:29heaven. We need to be covered in the
- 38:31blood of Jesus Christ, Friends. That is the only way that we're
- 38:35going to get there. And we must be filled with the
- 38:37Holy Spirit. Friends, hope you've been
- 38:42blessed by this amazing chapter here in the Word of God.
- 38:52Hope that you meditate upon it. There's a lot here.
- 38:57There's a lot to be said here, but Jesus shows us his love.
- 39:06He shows us that he is all powerful.
- 39:14What an amazing savior that we have.
- 39:18I'm praying for you. I love you, so does God.
- 39:30I'll see you back here tomorrow. God bless you.
