- 0:13Come on.
- 0:14>> You [music] know I got you. Yeah.
- 0:18Break the wall. Break down the wall.
- 0:24>> [music]
- 0:33>> What is going on everybody? Why does
- 0:36this do this every time? No idea.
- 0:39Regardless, we're live. What's going on
- 0:42everybody?
- 0:45How you guys doing? Vinnie Whitlock,
- 0:47what is going on my man? You're first
- 0:49here today. I'm trying to stream to
- 0:52freaking Instagram, but it's not letting
- 0:54me do it for some freaking stupid
- 0:56reason. But that's all right. Says I'm
- 0:59streaming, but uh I don't know.
- 1:03No idea. Regardless, what is going on,
- 1:06folks? How you guys doing today? I got
- 1:09nothing going on, man. I just like, you
- 1:11know what? It's been a really, really,
- 1:13really rough week, and I said to myself,
- 1:17you know what? Let me just come on and
- 1:20blow off some steam for a little bit.
- 1:23And that that's really it, man. It's
- 1:26like
- 1:28I don't know that that's really what I
- 1:30wanted her to do. Derek, what's going
- 1:31on, man? How are you? Glad to see you
- 1:33guys in the chat. Like I said, there's
- 1:34no agenda tonight. I'm open to talking
- 1:36about whatever. And even better, I have
- 1:38actually pinned the uh the link if
- 1:42anybody wants to jump on and talk to me.
- 1:43Don't be shy, guys, tonight because I
- 1:45have nothing going on. Uh, I brought
- 1:47nothing to show you guys. I've bought
- 1:49nothing since a couple of weeks ago or
- 1:51whenever the hell I did this for the
- 1:52last time impromptu live that I did. Uh,
- 1:54but if anybody's out there wants to jump
- 1:56on, please do because I have really not
- 2:00much going on. I'm going to show you. I
- 2:01redid my garbage pill kids labels uh
- 2:04that I uh that we were talking about.
- 2:07But that is about it. That's the only
- 2:08thing that I brought to show. Other than
- 2:10that, um, you know, that's it. Uh, and
- 2:16it's not live on on uh on Instagram, so
- 2:19I don't know what's going on, but not a
- 2:22big deal. Uh, not a big deal at all. So,
- 2:28regardless, we're here tonight. We'll
- 2:30just focus on YouTube. Not a big deal.
- 2:32But, uh, let me say hello to my boy
- 2:33Huritan. You changed your, uh, is this
- 2:35your a different channel for you? A
- 2:37different YouTube channel or did you
- 2:39change your name? Let me know. remember
- 2:42for two-month level mighty message
- 2:44picked up an ASM3. I saw that on your
- 2:46profile, brother in a 5.0, an ASM9, in a
- 2:494.0, and a Daredevil 3 and a 5.5. I saw
- 2:53the ASM3 and the Daredevil 3 that you
- 2:55put side by side, a couple of threes
- 2:57that you picked up was your title. So,
- 2:58congrats to you, my friend. ASM3 is one
- 3:01of my favorite books of all time.
- 3:03There's there's no question in my line.
- 3:04No question in my mind. Absolute
- 3:08amazingness.
- 3:10So, uh, regardless, we're just you we're
- 3:12just YouTube tonight because I can't get
- 3:14that to work. But, uh, Tacoma Geek, what
- 3:17is going on, my friend? How are you?
- 3:19Again, there's no agenda tonight. I put
- 3:21the stream link in there if anybody
- 3:22wants to join. I'll keep repeating
- 3:24myself. Come chat with me tonight. Not
- 3:27just in the chat, but come on live. That
- 3:29goes for anybody out there. Uh, we're
- 3:32all good. We could talk about whatever
- 3:33tonight. Comics. We could talk about
- 3:35freaking Superman sale. If you were just
- 3:38on my IG, you know that uh
- 3:41you know that I just posted my Superman
- 3:43just to uh just to say, "Hey, it's a
- 3:46Superman kind of day type of thing." But
- 3:48uh I wonder if that sale is going to
- 3:51prop up Superman books a little bit. I
- 3:54saw right after that that sale occurred,
- 3:56somebody else posted a uh a 4.0 restored
- 4:00Superman one for sale for 38 and change.
- 4:03It's got a lot of work done to it, but I
- 4:05don't know if they're trying to take
- 4:06advantage of that sale and see if they
- 4:07can get a a uh somebody who has a little
- 4:10bit of FOMO going on.
- 4:13Maybe FOMO is not the right word with
- 4:15that book, but you know, you see a book
- 4:17sell like that for an alltime record for
- 4:21comics, you know, maybe somebody also
- 4:23wants to get in on the action. So, I
- 4:25don't know. I'm not not that mine is for
- 4:27sale because it's not, but somebody made
- 4:29me like a crazy offer for mine. I would
- 4:31consider it.
- 4:34Fatal Fury 01. What's going on? Do I
- 4:36have a name for my female avatar yet?
- 4:38No. There were a couple of really great
- 4:40ones that I thought people, you know,
- 4:42named her as. So, I'm considering a few.
- 4:45What I may do is like is take the top
- 4:47three that I think really stand out and
- 4:49then have a vote on it and we'll go with
- 4:51that. But, there were a couple of really
- 4:52good ones, a couple of funny ones as
- 4:54well. Uh, that's what I was hoping for.
- 4:56Like I wanted like a somebody just gave
- 4:58me like a name like Diane or something
- 4:59like one name. I wanted like a like a
- 5:02dual name like uh you know a couple
- 5:04people were like uh what was a couple of
- 5:06really dirty ones which were funny but I
- 5:08you know not to make it too dirty but uh
- 5:11like a double name you know like uh like
- 5:14somebody said Double Diana Prince. I
- 5:17thought that was funny. So kind of looks
- 5:19like Wonder Woman a little bit.
- 5:21Definitely Linda Carter back in the day.
- 5:24So we'll see what happens with that. I
- 5:26kind of feel like the market is like how
- 5:27you're feeling right now. Cold. So,
- 5:29comic fan again, 8405, great name, my
- 5:32friend. It's funny because a big time
- 5:34dealer just posted something the other
- 5:36day on Instagram.
- 5:38Uh, it was about the Superman 1, funny
- 5:41enough, how the market is really cold, a
- 5:43real real shitty market was his exact
- 5:45words. So, that says something. When
- 5:47you're a big-time dealer and you're
- 5:49saying the market is really shitty,
- 5:51it's tough. It's tough. And now we could
- 5:54talk about this more, but what I think
- 5:56it is is that there's a little bit of
- 5:58fatigue. I I would say more than a
- 6:01little bit. There's definitely some
- 6:02fatigue in the market right now with
- 6:04people with comics. I think if you've
- 6:06been in the game for three or four
- 6:08years, you've probably seen it all,
- 6:10right? I'm not saying you've owned it
- 6:12all, but you've seen it all. So, what's
- 6:14out there that that you want that you
- 6:15want to buy that you haven't seen
- 6:17before, right? Some people are still
- 6:19working towards their goals and and
- 6:20that's awesome that everybody should do
- 6:22that. If you have goals in comics or any
- 6:24collecting, that's always a good idea.
- 6:28But that's what I really think it is and
- 6:29it's just about a little bit of a
- 6:31fatigue.
- 6:34Fatal Fury says he was thinking Mandy.
- 6:35Mandy what? Mandy Melons. [laughter]
- 6:39You know, got to have two names. I don't
- 6:41think we could use just one. Mandy
- 6:43something, right? I had Breakdown Betty,
- 6:46which to me so far that has been my
- 6:48favorite, Breakdown Betty, because the
- 6:49show was the Breakdown. So, that that's
- 6:51one of the one that's going to be in the
- 6:52top three if I decide to go that route.
- 6:55Takoma says, "Let's talk He-Man. Do you
- 6:58own the first appearance as well as the
- 7:00Marvel and DC issues? Ever hear about
- 7:02the DC promotional insert for MOTU?" So,
- 7:05what do you mean by the promotional
- 7:07insert for MOTU? I'm not sure if I heard
- 7:09of that, the DC promotional. What I do
- 7:11own is the true first appearance of
- 7:13He-Man and Skeletor in comics. And that
- 7:15was the mini comic, which I did show I
- 7:18unboxed from PSA uh in an 8.0. I I
- 7:22bought that raw right after, believe it
- 7:25or not, like that mini comic in a 9.8
- 7:27CGC sold for five grand. I'm like, "Holy
- 7:29shit." I said, "Let me see if I could
- 7:31find like a relatively cheap copy of
- 7:33this just to have in the collection."
- 7:34And I bought a nice one. and it came
- 7:36back in 80, which is a nice grade. You
- 7:38know, it's still only like a hundred
- 7:39something dollar value minicomic, but I
- 7:42don't own the DC first appearance Marvel
- 7:44presents. I do not I mean, um DC
- 7:47presents, excuse me, 47. I do not own
- 7:50that. To me, it's not the true first
- 7:52appearance. I understand it's a first
- 7:53appearance in a standard comic. Cool.
- 7:55But you could actually buy the first
- 7:56true appearance in the mini comic for
- 7:58cheaper. So, I don't know about the
- 8:00promotional insert. Let me know about
- 8:01that because that's something I would
- 8:03love to hear about.
- 8:04Phil Aling, what's going on, brother?
- 8:06How are you?
- 8:08Tacoma says, "The predigree 8.5 is a
- 8:11nicer book." We're talking about the
- 8:13Superman, right? Taccom, is that what
- 8:15we're talking about?
- 8:18Daniel. Oh, I'm sorry. Danny Hel, I
- 8:21apologize if I'm boyfriend. No, I
- 8:23recognize that avatar. What's going on,
- 8:25Danny? How are you? Did you change your
- 8:26name? I don't I don't recognize the
- 8:28name.
- 8:31John Band, what is going on, my friend?
- 8:33Greetings from the windy city. Doy D, I
- 8:36like that. Vinnie Doy D. How about
- 8:38double D? That would be better.
- 8:41[laughter]
- 8:42Heritan says 699 super chat. Thank you
- 8:44so much, brother. Hands doing a high
- 8:47five. Huritan, is there anything else
- 8:49that you're looking to add? I know last
- 8:51time we were on the stream we talked
- 8:52about the Tech 31 of the Batman one, but
- 8:55outside of like the really big stuff, is
- 8:57there other other books that you're
- 8:58looking for, my man?
- 9:04So that that's a great question. Uh
- 9:06Heritan, while you answer my question,
- 9:09that's that's what I wanted to know. Is
- 9:11that going to help the market?
- 9:15What those sales do is it brings people
- 9:19in who are not in already. That that's
- 9:20my opinion. So if you're a comic
- 9:22collector like we are, comic collectors
- 9:24like we are,
- 9:26like I I don't think that sale phases
- 9:28us. That's not going to want us make
- 9:30make us go out and buy more comics. No,
- 9:31cuz we're already doing it, right? But
- 9:33the people who are outside, like I
- 9:36remember when that AF-15 sold right
- 9:38before the boom, right? We had that big
- 9:40AF-15 sale. I don't know if it was a
- 9:419.4, right? That sold for big money.
- 9:44That kind of like kicked it off. It
- 9:46started like getting people back
- 9:47interested in comics that either were
- 9:49never in comics before and we had some
- 9:51investors jump in as well. So again,
- 9:55because we had that comic boom and
- 9:57because we had that comic crash, are
- 9:58those same investors scared to kind of
- 10:00come back in at this point? That's the
- 10:02only thing. We had the boom and then we
- 10:03had the bust. So are people afraid to
- 10:05jump back in? But I always think when we
- 10:07have sales like that, you'll get some
- 10:09lazy fair collectors who are like, "Wow,
- 10:11you know, you know, Superman's first
- 10:12issue just sold for crazy amount of
- 10:14money. Let's see what we can find." Type
- 10:15of stuff. So I think that is good for
- 10:19the market. But having invent investors
- 10:22pop in and out, I do not think it is
- 10:24because those those people don't care
- 10:26about the medium. They only care about
- 10:28making money. So, um, you know, it's
- 10:32tough to say. I do think we'll get a a
- 10:34little bumps here and there, but that's
- 10:37about it. I don't see anything major
- 10:38coming of this.
- 10:40Tacoma Geek says, "I went against the
- 10:43grain and picked up some ASM copper
- 10:45keys, 124 and a 9.2, 2 125 in a 9.4.
- 10:51Also picked up a Hulk 182. Poor poor
- 10:54man's 181 in a 9.2. Remember when like
- 10:57during the boom, man, that 182 was like
- 11:00stupidly priced. People were paying like
- 11:02$1,000 for that book in high grade,
- 11:04which to me is insanity. Absolute
- 11:08insanity. So, I would never do that. But
- 11:12either way, you know, if you want to own
- 11:14the book, I'm all for it. It's got a
- 11:16nice blue cover. I've always liked that
- 11:17cover of that book. Um, but you know,
- 11:20work your way to that 181 eventually.
- 11:22You'll get it, man.
- 11:27Heritan says he's looking for a Hulk
- 11:29one. Well, if I ever have to sell my
- 11:31Hulk one, I will. Uh, I mean, I don't
- 11:33mine might be too low grade for you, but
- 11:36I'll I'll let you know.
- 11:39Danny says he did not change his name
- 11:41name to the handle. It's a pun on the
- 11:43name Daniel.
- 11:45Ah, is death in Danish and my name is
- 11:48Dan. I got you. So, Danny Death. I like
- 11:51that. Just changes to Danny Death, man.
- 11:56He goes by Dan T. Awesome, man. Well,
- 11:59welcome aboard. I remember seeing you
- 12:00the last time we did a live. So, that's
- 12:02cool. And again, anybody out there who
- 12:04wants to join the chat, guys, the it's
- 12:06the beginning of the uh I put it in the
- 12:08description, but also I put it in the
- 12:10chat in the beginning. It's it's pin
- 12:12should be pinned there for you guys uh
- 12:14if you guys want to jump on and just
- 12:15talk because uh you know I really have
- 12:17nothing going on tonight. I have no
- 12:20agenda. I'm just bored out of my mind
- 12:22like always when I do these like
- 12:23impromptu live streams streams. But
- 12:27uh good some good news is is I actually
- 12:29had a company reach out to me uh with
- 12:32some they're a card company which is
- 12:33awesome
- 12:35and they wanted me to do an unbox.
- 12:38They're going to send me some cards.
- 12:39They have really cool collectible cards
- 12:41and I touched on this the last time I
- 12:43did a live stream. They actually just
- 12:44emailed me a little while ago. Uh
- 12:46they're going to send me some cards to
- 12:48unbox. But their cards, I don't want to
- 12:51get into it too much here because I want
- 12:52you guys to be surprised when you see
- 12:54it. Is that their cards are based of
- 12:58like
- 12:59finance and Bitcoin and some really cool
- 13:03artwork. The artwork is actually done by
- 13:06com some comic book artists, believe it
- 13:08or not, which I thought was a awesome
- 13:11for a channel like like mine because we
- 13:13do a lot of comic stuff. So, some of the
- 13:15artists you you may know and like, "Holy
- 13:17[ __ ] they're doing these cards as
- 13:18well." So, they're going to send me some
- 13:20cards. We're going to do an unboxing and
- 13:21then hopefully um they could sponsor a
- 13:25video where I'll include like an ad for
- 13:27their cards in the video. That's the
- 13:28plan. We'll see if it comes to fruition.
- 13:30But, uh I'm really digging the cards.
- 13:32They're really really cool. They're
- 13:33they're not cheap, I will say that. And
- 13:35they go for for a nice chunk of change
- 13:37on the secondary market, which if you're
- 13:39like us, right? You know, there's a big
- 13:41gambling thing going on in the comic
- 13:44space right now and really everything in
- 13:45collectibles, but the fact if you spend
- 13:48money that you're guaranteed, and I
- 13:50don't want to give it away when we get
- 13:52into this, but you're guaranteed to like
- 13:54have a hit and you're guar guaranteed to
- 13:56have value, which I thought was really
- 13:57great when I had a about an hour meeting
- 13:59with the um the CEO of the company,
- 14:02which is awesome. The meeting was
- 14:03actually really cool and I was very
- 14:04impressed.
- 14:06Heritan with the $70
- 14:09super chat, dude. Best comic channel on
- 14:13YouTube. I thank you so much, brother.
- 14:15Let me ask you something, Huran. Are you
- 14:17a Batman fan? Let me know. If you are,
- 14:22let me know. I'll leave it at that. But
- 14:24if you are, tell me. Danny says, "The
- 14:27Moiu promotional is pretty cool. I had
- 14:29it at some point. It's not expensive."
- 14:30Well, listen. That's just like that uh
- 14:33Secret of the Sword comic that Ko sent
- 14:35me. It's not an expensive book, but I
- 14:37got to tell you, man, just to have it is
- 14:38really, really cool. So, somebody let me
- 14:40know about the promotional. I would love
- 14:42to see it. Share it with me either on,
- 14:45you know, if you could drop it in the
- 14:47chat, that's great. If not, you know,
- 14:48message me on Instagram so I could see
- 14:49what it is. Maybe I do know about it.
- 14:51I'm just forgetting, but I would love to
- 14:52see it regardless.
- 15:00Ter says the greatest card he owns is a
- 15:02Kenny Powers rookie card. phenomenal
- 15:05show. See, that's the thing like for for
- 15:08those people who don't listen to the
- 15:09podcast or watch the podcast, there's a
- 15:11lot of funny stuff like that I want to
- 15:13talk about and like TV shows are one of
- 15:16them. Whether it be nostalgia or whether
- 15:18it be like you know like can't I for
- 15:21what uh
- 15:24what the [ __ ] is the show called? It's
- 15:25uh Eastbound and Down like shows like
- 15:28even curb your enthusiasm. We could talk
- 15:30about that show. Like I would love to do
- 15:31a podcast just on old shows and new
- 15:33shows as well. So
- 15:36bringing up freaking Kenny Powers.
- 15:38That's why I love these lives, guys.
- 15:42So Heritan says, "How rare are the Kirby
- 15:44Sigs?
- 15:46I I I've owned one in my lifetime and
- 15:49and it was the only reason I own one is
- 15:50because I was on an Instagram live show
- 15:53and one of the dealers had one. He
- 15:54opened it up to the splash bin and says
- 15:56that's sign on the splash by Jack
- 15:58Kirby." wasn't a key. It was a Tales to
- 16:00Astonish book and I bought it and
- 16:02claimed it just because I've never had a
- 16:03Jack Kirby signature in the collection.
- 16:06They're not there are not that many
- 16:08around that I've seen, but that doesn't
- 16:10mean there aren't plenty of them because
- 16:14maybe people don't look. I I've told the
- 16:16story before about how I bought an ASM
- 16:19298 off of eBay. There was no mention of
- 16:22any signature in the book. I open the
- 16:24thing up when I get home and on the
- 16:25splash page it's it's signed by Todd
- 16:28McFarland which is awesome. So
- 16:32um you know to each his own like who
- 16:35knows how many books Jack's signed. We
- 16:37don't know. So someone has joined the
- 16:39chat but
- 16:41I'm going to let them in because there's
- 16:42no picture. So we'll see uh if this
- 16:46person is going to say or do something
- 16:48to ban my channel but hopefully not. It
- 16:50says his name is Happy Gilmore by the
- 16:51way. So, let's hope for the best here.
- 16:55What's going on?
- 17:01Is anybody there? I can't hear you.
- 17:05Hello. Happy Gilmore.
- 17:10Well, they're gone. I couldn't hear a
- 17:12word. He was couldn't hear anything. If
- 17:13anybody was there, so if I ever see a
- 17:15picture or if I hear some audio, maybe
- 17:17I'll let them back in. But again, if
- 17:19somebody wants to jump in again, please
- 17:22do so. That'd be awesome.
- 17:25But again, there's no uh there was no
- 17:27audio there. So,
- 17:31this says no. Um when I click on it, it
- 17:34said there's no audio device. So, I
- 17:36don't know who that is, but there's no
- 17:38audio device to your camera, it says.
- 17:47All right. All right. Well, hopefully
- 17:48they'll get that ficked out regardless.
- 17:52Uh, so Heritan says he loves Batman
- 17:55number two after Spidey. All is he is
- 17:58Batman's his number two after Spidey.
- 18:00He's You're like me, brother. So, do me
- 18:01a favor, brother. I have something
- 18:02awesome I'm going to send you for that
- 18:04$70 super chat. And I appreciate it. Uh,
- 18:07it's really cool. If you're a fan of
- 18:08Batman and you like the Batman movies, I
- 18:12have something for you. So, do me a
- 18:13favor. like tonight, tomorrow, whenever.
- 18:16Send me your address on Instagram and
- 18:18then I'm going to mail this to you. It's
- 18:19already ready to go. I've been waiting
- 18:20to give it away for a while on a live
- 18:23and you're always very generous with the
- 18:25super chat and stuff. So, I'm going to
- 18:26give you that. Uh, very cool, brother.
- 18:28So, just message me at some point.
- 18:34Tomaas, hello everyone. My name is I'm
- 18:36an addict, a comic book addict. Face
- 18:38red, droopy eyes. We all are, right?
- 18:41We're this this and it's not just
- 18:43comics. I hate to say it to you, but
- 18:44like collecting is an addiction. There's
- 18:47no question. There's a there's a
- 18:49something that goes on with collecting.
- 18:52Um, and I just think it's a call back to
- 18:54like at least for me, it's a call back
- 18:56to like the things that I remember
- 18:57growing up and and that I loved. That's
- 19:00all it is. Um, whether it's comics,
- 19:03toys, video games,
- 19:07uh, you know, you you name it. like um
- 19:11you know I could be on a live sale and
- 19:13I'm just addicted to going on a live
- 19:14sale and just seeing what they have even
- 19:16though nine times out of 10 it doesn't
- 19:17have and there's nothing there that I'm
- 19:18really interested in. But every once in
- 19:20a while you get something like holy [ __ ]
- 19:22I've never seen that before. You get
- 19:24holy [ __ ] I remember when I had that as
- 19:26a kid and I want it again. So awesome.
- 19:29Oh,
- 19:32remember the power glove? How can I
- 19:33forget the power glove? Well, that was
- 19:35the big So, how many of you have seen
- 19:37the movie The Wizard with Fred Savage
- 19:40where he goes to the uh Nintendo World
- 19:42Championships in California and on his
- 19:45way he meets that that one kid who had
- 19:47the [ __ ] Power Glove and that's the
- 19:49first time anybody has ever seen the
- 19:51Power Glove. Like Nintendo, it wasn't
- 19:53out yet, but he had it in the movie.
- 19:55People went nuts for it, including
- 19:57myself. So, I actually ended up getting
- 19:59one and I was crazily disappointed and
- 20:02how bad it was it was to play a game
- 20:06with it that like I remember watching
- 20:07the movie. He was playing Rad Racer and
- 20:09the dude was like excelling through the
- 20:12whole thing. So,
- 20:16I don't know. Regardless, uh yes, I
- 20:19remember the power glove and I had one.
- 20:20I would love to It's not something like
- 20:22somebody should have done that again.
- 20:24Like, you know what? Somebody should
- 20:25have came out with something like
- 20:27another accessory like that, a power
- 20:28glove that's like being able to use, you
- 20:32know, your hand or something. I
- 20:34obviously we can talk about the Wii and
- 20:36being able to like box and do all the
- 20:37the sports gau and stuff with the with
- 20:39the paddles. Bo,
- 20:42I don't know. I um Happy Gilmore says he
- 20:45can't figure this out. He just put out
- 20:47his comic collection from when I was a
- 20:48kid and got my first delivery from CGC.
- 20:51He's still learning about comics. Thanks
- 20:54for your channel. Oh man, let me try to
- 20:55get you on here one more time. But
- 21:00there's definitely
- 21:03it's an audio issue. I'm assuming
- 21:06whatever you're you're using, you have
- 21:08to give permission to your mic. So
- 21:11again, if you get figured out, but like
- 21:13even like it shows like a volume bar
- 21:15here for me. There's no volume bar for
- 21:17me, which means that you uh you have no
- 21:19audio. Regardless, I appreciate you
- 21:21coming on and sharing your story. just
- 21:23if you want you could also just type in
- 21:25the chat and I'll share it to the screen
- 21:26for everybody to see as well brother.
- 21:29Thank you again for the kind words.
- 21:35So Derek says he you got to be careful
- 21:38with Kirby Sigs because his wife Roz was
- 21:40signing as Jack towards the end of his
- 21:42life. Oh wow. I didn't know that.
- 21:44Really? That's crazy. And how
- 21:49how did it look like Jack signature?
- 21:51I've seen it in person, but I've also
- 21:53like seen it in other things that he
- 21:56signed. And the one I had looked exactly
- 21:58like he how he always signed it. So
- 22:00Derek, enlighten us here. How, you know,
- 22:04have you seen his wife's signature? Is
- 22:05it comparable to his? Can you tell?
- 22:15Vinnie Woodlock saying the same thing
- 22:17about his wife. I didn't never knew
- 22:18that.
- 22:22That's crazy.
- 22:24I'm Tacoma says, "I'm guilty of buying
- 22:26Absolute Batman 1 through13 first print
- 22:29near mint for 200 bucks. Robbery, I
- 22:32know, but I couldn't resist." Well, you
- 22:33got the whole run for for 200, right?
- 22:38Are they great? I'm assuming they're
- 22:40raw, right? Tacoma.
- 22:42Uh, you saw that 9.8 last week. Somebody
- 22:45paid 112%. I I I I remember the freaking
- 22:48percentage over. That's how crazy it
- 22:50was. 112% over the last show and that
- 22:52was the week prior for a direct. So, and
- 22:56I think that was like 120 something. So,
- 22:59it was wild. Uh, but that's how hot that
- 23:02book is right now. And and I want to
- 23:04know is it like newer collectors buying
- 23:08like and getting into the story for the
- 23:10first time or is it like older people? I
- 23:12got to imagine it's it's newer
- 23:15collectors or like
- 23:18avid avid readers and who are thirsting
- 23:21for a good Batman story and they have
- 23:22haven't had one in a really long time.
- 23:25But the 9.8 [ __ ] is a different story.
- 23:27If you buy books to read, I think is
- 23:28awesome. But we'll see what happens to
- 23:31that book down the line. You know, who
- 23:32the I am not a uh
- 23:35I am not, you know, I'm not one to talk
- 23:38about that stuff. Spending money on
- 23:39things that if you enjoy it, go for it,
- 23:41man. The 200 bucks is not going to break
- 23:43the bank, right?
- 23:46Maurice Devo 6573. What is going on? Now
- 23:50that JSA is authenticating signatures,
- 23:52more Kirby signatures will appear on the
- 23:54CGC POP report over the next years as
- 23:57Kirby signed and died before CGC
- 23:59appeared on the market. I know 100%
- 24:01right. Uh I think that POP report is a
- 24:04good and a bad thing. We're going to
- 24:05talk about signatures only because one,
- 24:06we're going to find out how many
- 24:07signatures there really are and that
- 24:09have been graded. used to be where you
- 24:11just see a yellow label and you don't
- 24:12know who signed it when when you go to
- 24:14their census, but you saw how many Todd
- 24:18signatures there are. Ryan at Automatic
- 24:20Comics. Um, he did a great video about
- 24:24just the Todd McFarland signatures, how
- 24:26many of them are out there, and there
- 24:28are a ton. I'm not saying you shouldn't
- 24:29do it. If if Todd is obviously an icon
- 24:31in this industry, is an icon in in my
- 24:34life. Like I wish somebody would
- 24:36interview me and ask me who my
- 24:39influences were because like there are
- 24:41some people who I have admired my whole
- 24:44life and Todd is one of them. Not not
- 24:46just because of his comic art because of
- 24:48his mindset and that's who I who are my
- 24:51like people who I who I follow are
- 24:53people who have like a mindset like Todd
- 24:55who are very driven and they're they
- 24:56don't take no for an answer and they're
- 24:58just going to get what they want whether
- 25:00other people like it or not. Like that's
- 25:02I'm just very drawn to that.
- 25:05Danny says, "I have a collecting gene.
- 25:07Fortunately, really good at constantly
- 25:09curating the collections, whether it's
- 25:11Lego mini ver Lego mini figurines,
- 25:14guitar effect pedals, video games, OG
- 25:17comic books." Yeah, man.
- 25:20Again, I I got to imagine the things
- 25:22you're describing are the things that
- 25:23you had at some point in your life,
- 25:25right? That that's what I assume.
- 25:28Especially the guitar stuff. I remember
- 25:30you saying that last time we were on the
- 25:32show.
- 25:36Herton says, "You ever look into the
- 25:38history of Game Genie?" So, obviously,
- 25:40obviously I had the Game Genie growing
- 25:41up as a kid. It was towards my later and
- 25:44the end of of the NES. Um, we had it, me
- 25:48and a buddy of mine, and we would use it
- 25:50every once in a while, but it really to
- 25:52me kind of like defeated the purpose of
- 25:54everything. And I tried not to use it as
- 25:55much unless I was really really stuck.
- 25:58But I never saw the history. I'm sure I
- 26:00could Google it. The history of the game
- 26:02on YouTube and find it. Why is it like
- 26:04wild
- 26:09says is absolute Batman as a raw as the
- 26:12day they were born? Awesome.
- 26:15Roz's sigs look quite similar to Jack.
- 26:17I've even heard of CBCS verifying a Raz
- 26:20as Jack. I would imagine JSA could get
- 26:23fooled, too. Awesome. Just what we need.
- 26:26Uh I mean that's tough. I mean there's
- 26:28not much you could do about that. And
- 26:29I'm not sure you could even go back and
- 26:30prove it. That's the thing. Like
- 26:33I don't know.
- 26:37So, um, Happy Gilmore, who tried to get
- 26:39into the stream before, says, "Is an
- 26:40ASM50 worth grading if it's in bad
- 26:44shape? I just got back a 9.8 ASM 316 and
- 26:49Captain America annual 8. Go collect
- 26:51this. These are $1,400 books. Do you
- 26:54think that is accurate?" Usually, go
- 26:56collect's pretty accurate. The only
- 26:58thing I I will say about Go Collect um
- 27:00is
- 27:03the only time I find a flaw with their
- 27:05pricing is on eBay sales that they
- 27:07report. Now
- 27:09GPA, if you have a sale on eBay that
- 27:13sells for a best offer, GPA will give
- 27:16you that best offer sale. Where Golect,
- 27:18they don't they don't get best offer
- 27:21sales from Go Collect yet. Other than
- 27:23that, I assume the prices are pretty
- 27:25good on Golect. Uh, the ASM50. You know
- 27:28what, man? I don't find the need to
- 27:31grade a lot of books unless they're high
- 27:33value and you and you just want like a
- 27:35definitive grade to determine
- 27:38pricing, right? If it's a lowgrade
- 27:40ASM50, what why grade it then? Like the
- 27:43value is in the eyes of the person who's
- 27:46going to buy a really lowgrade
- 27:48ASM50. You say bad shape, so I don't
- 27:50know what grade it is. I'm assuming it's
- 27:52it's, you know, it's rough, right? Um, I
- 27:55I remember
- 27:57Quite a few years back, I went to a
- 27:59local comic shop who I don't visit
- 28:00often, and they actually had a really
- 28:04couple of low-grade silver age books,
- 28:06but they were big keys like ASM50, ASM39
- 28:09signed by John Ramita, Senior, but they
- 28:12were really low grade. But you know
- 28:13what? How often do you come across those
- 28:16books? Like an ASM39 signed by John
- 28:18Rita. I ended up buying the ASM50. Um,
- 28:21it was low grade because I still thought
- 28:22at that point it was worth the price of
- 28:24admission and somebody would want to buy
- 28:25the book. Ended up buying it and like
- 28:28few months later ended up selling it to
- 28:30someone who was actually looking for
- 28:31that book in low grade. So, it's always
- 28:33worth it and I don't think you need to
- 28:35grade it. Be honest. I would save the
- 28:37money and put it towards something else.
- 28:38But [clears throat] that's just me,
- 28:39brother. Damn.
- 28:44Luis Mendoza says, "What's up, man? How
- 28:46are you?
- 28:51Tacoma Geek says, "Had to put on AirPods
- 28:54to write the following. [clears throat]
- 28:57Along with the Manwolf books, I picked
- 28:59up ASM20
- 29:027.5. I haven't told the wifey. Picked it
- 29:05up for,075." I was like, "Why did he put
- 29:07the air airpods on?" And then I just
- 29:09realized, wait, he spent a lot of money.
- 29:11He doesn't want someone to know how much
- 29:12he spent. Good for you, brother. Good
- 29:14for you.
- 29:16ASM20 and a 75. Damn,
- 29:20that is a high-grade book for Silver
- 29:22Aes. Congrats, man. [clears throat]
- 29:25Hopefully, you get a bump once we see
- 29:26the the Scorpion in the movie. I I don't
- 29:28know if anybody saw this today, and I
- 29:31I'm going to give you a spoiler warning,
- 29:33so if you want to pop out for a minute,
- 29:34but I I do want to talk about this. Uh
- 29:36they reported that we know Scorpion is
- 29:38going to be in a Spider-Man brand new
- 29:39day, but they reported the main villain
- 29:42is going to be Mr. Negative. Now, there
- 29:43was speculation early on that it could
- 29:47be Mr. negative, but now they pretty
- 29:49much almost have confirmed it and he's
- 29:52going to be controlling the Hulk. Uh
- 29:54that's why he goes back to Savage Hulk.
- 29:56So, we'll see what happens. And we
- 29:58assume that he breaks out the Scorpion
- 30:01from jail because we've seen him in the
- 30:02helicopter when in the handcuffs.
- 30:05That's it for the spoiler. You can come
- 30:06back in. Batman 251, total of 4,810
- 30:12on the census. 655
- 30:15witnessed Neil Adams plus 22 verified. I
- 30:19mean, that's a lot, right? That is a lot
- 30:22of signatures already on a 251. And
- 30:25honestly, I I think the the 227 looks
- 30:27better with the yellow label because of
- 30:29the all black cover. That's just my
- 30:31opinion. I'm not saying you shouldn't
- 30:32own 251. you should because that that's
- 30:35a more of a key in my opinion because of
- 30:36the like the uh like the birth of the
- 30:40the re the Joker we all know and love
- 30:42today was up because of that book and
- 30:44Neil Adams
- 30:47so
- 30:49that it is 60 655 signatures man that's
- 30:52crazy but again it's a it's a bronze age
- 30:54book
- 30:56I would like to know how many Stanley
- 30:58sigs are on an AF5 and on a Hulk one
- 31:01some can somebody pull that information
- 31:03for
- 31:04That'd be really great.
- 31:08I'm going to gift wrap it, put it under
- 31:10the tree, and open it on Christmas.
- 31:12Talking about the ASM20. Would she be
- 31:14pissed off though because you got it for
- 31:16yourself?
- 31:18That's the whole thing. Like, is she
- 31:19going to be like, "What the hell?" Like,
- 31:21you're buying yourself gifts and putting
- 31:23it under the tree. That's what my wife
- 31:25would do. And again, I I will invite
- 31:27anybody else who wants to come on here.
- 31:29The link is in the chat. The link is in
- 31:31the description. We had somebody come in
- 31:33but couldn't figure out his audio. But
- 31:35obviously he wasn't a a scammer. He just
- 31:38he just couldn't get his audio to work
- 31:39because he was wanted to ask a question.
- 31:41But guys, pop on if you want. There's
- 31:43more more more to be had here. But uh
- 31:47all good. All good. So while we have a
- 31:49break in the chat, let me show you my
- 31:50updated
- 31:53GPK labels that I did. So I ended up
- 31:56lightening the the color on the uh the
- 31:58border. And I think these look a lot
- 32:00better. So
- 32:03messy tessy.
- 32:06I'm going to show you the back even
- 32:07though I'm not sure you can see the back
- 32:08as good. So I mentioned this the last
- 32:10time they these came out really cool.
- 32:12The um this is the first one I did.
- 32:14That's why it says 01. But this the QR
- 32:16code in the back will take you to
- 32:17gpk.com's
- 32:19website. So this is a series 2 card. So
- 32:21the the QR will take you to a series 2
- 32:23page where you can look at all the
- 32:24series 2 cards. So
- 32:27again, this is the most expensive GPK
- 32:29ever.
- 32:31Nasty Nick and his nice new Nasty Nick
- 32:35label, which I thought was really cool.
- 32:38Show you the back. This is card number
- 32:4110.
- 32:44Let's do Evil Eddie again.
- 32:48Same avatar there. I was actually
- 32:51thinking about doing these if somebody
- 32:53wanted them uh and and wanted me to do
- 32:57them for them if they have Garbage Kids.
- 32:59So if you're interested in these, reach
- 33:00out. I could always do them for you,
- 33:03obviously at at cost.
- 33:06Bony Joan, I only brought you five to
- 33:07see today. Bony Joan.
- 33:10Again, this is a series one card. It'll
- 33:13take you to the series one page on
- 33:15gpk.com.
- 33:17And of course, Blasted Billy, one of my
- 33:20favorites
- 33:21uh labels. I thought came out really,
- 33:23really cool. So, uh, again, if you don't
- 33:27if you're not like an avid card grader
- 33:29and you don't want to, and these are
- 33:31like they're nice looking cards. If
- 33:32they're not nines or tens probably by
- 33:35PSA standards, but and if they're not
- 33:37nines or tens, I don't really see the
- 33:39value in sending them in. So, I just
- 33:41thought they look cool and it's a little
- 33:43project for myself. I like giving myself
- 33:45some projects sometimes. So,
- 33:51let's see.
- 33:54Oh, he said he got busted. Is she like
- 33:56screaming at you right now? Did I bust
- 33:58you? Did I get you in trouble? She found
- 34:01out, folks. You spent that much on a
- 34:03comic.
- 34:05You have it on the TV. She read it
- 34:08before I could block the chat on the TV.
- 34:11Oh my god.
- 34:13Is she like
- 34:15throwing [ __ ] at you right now? Blame
- 34:18me, brother. Blame the dude on the TV
- 34:20who told you to buy it. Victor Palushi,
- 34:23what's going on? If so, if anybody's not
- 34:25following Vic Palushi over on Instagram,
- 34:27he just posted his recent pickup, which
- 34:31is insane. I don't want to spoil it, but
- 34:33he just picked up something that's
- 34:35really, really cool. Go follow him on
- 34:37Instagram. Uh really great dude. I
- 34:39actually had a chance to meet him at
- 34:41last year's uh Elite Expo and they're
- 34:44doing it again this year. I'm not sure
- 34:45the date. I believe it's in
- 34:48May, but I could be wrong on that.
- 34:53All right, Danny's got my info.
- 34:58All right, Amazing Fantasy 15. There are
- 35:00a total of 4,140
- 35:03books on the census. Okay, Stanley
- 35:06Witness Sigs, 437.
- 35:10So, roughly what? 10% of them are signed
- 35:13by Stanley. 10% are signed by Stan Lee
- 35:16and four have been verified. Wow. Only
- 35:19four. That's That's wild. Only four 10%
- 35:22of the Stanley um books out there are
- 35:26are
- 35:29witness sigs. I didn't even think I
- 35:32honest I did not think there were there
- 35:33were that many. I did not think there
- 35:36were I mean that's just wild to me, man.
- 35:41That is crazy.
- 35:43I man I I thought I was like doing a
- 35:45really good thing by getting a uh a
- 35:46Stanley signed AF-15. This is the
- 35:49problem with this like this pop report
- 35:51with the with the signatures. We're
- 35:53going to know how many are out there
- 35:54now. We're going to know how many are
- 35:55signed by Stan Lee and all these, you
- 35:58know, artists and creators and whatever.
- 35:59And that's that could drive the price
- 36:02down on some of these signed books if
- 36:04people know how many are out there. Now,
- 36:06I would like to know how many Sorry,
- 36:08Danny, to make you do this. How many are
- 36:09in a 2.5?
- 36:11Because that's what I have. How many are
- 36:13in a 2.5 signed by Stan Lee? I
- 36:16appreciate the work you're putting in
- 36:17here, my friend.
- 36:19She said he busted himself. Well, that
- 36:21you know, she's the
- 36:24uh that sometime my mind works in in not
- 36:28so nice ways, dirty ways.
- 36:32But regardless, sorry, brother.
- 36:33[laughter]
- 36:36Oh, see Derek Derek read my mind.
- 36:39Hopefully we don't get another Lena
- 36:42Bobbit incident. Every Derek showing his
- 36:45age right there.
- 36:48Oh, brother. Where is this conversation
- 36:50going?
- 36:53Hulk one total 2,314
- 36:57Stanley uh books, only 174 Stanley
- 37:01signatures.
- 37:03So, I guess it's about the same about
- 37:0410, you know, a little bit less than 10%
- 37:07be honest. About 8% or so. So, a little
- 37:10bit little bit better. I'll take that.
- 37:12Three [snorts] verified. So, how many?
- 37:152.5 on the AF-15, but a 1.5 on the Hulk
- 37:19One. You're doing a lot of work for me,
- 37:22Danny. I appreciate that. Oh, Swaggy,
- 37:24what's up, man? What's going on? The
- 37:26link is in the chat, brother. If you
- 37:27want to come join and talk about nothing
- 37:28because that's really what we're doing
- 37:29right now. We're talking about nothing.
- 37:32We're just hanging out. But the link's
- 37:34there if you want it, brother. As for
- 37:35anybody out there, if you want to jump
- 37:37in, you're more than welcome to come
- 37:38talk.
- 37:46So, where was I?
- 37:51So, Fish Fu says that's wrong. AF-15
- 37:53about has about 2700 universal and 300
- 37:57signature series. Hulk has Okay, so I
- 38:00know what he's saying. He's what Danny
- 38:02was doing is bringing in all the the
- 38:05total amount. I know what he means. He's
- 38:08bringing in 27. So the total 4,100 and
- 38:12something AF-15s were the total amount
- 38:14out there. 2700 are universal, three are
- 38:17signature, 300 are signature series and
- 38:20Hulk has 1,600 compared to 130. So
- 38:24again, the main question is
- 38:27all right. So Danny answered one of
- 38:29them. There's 55 Stanley Sigs on a 2.5.
- 38:34So I don't I don't know how many blue
- 38:37label 2.5s are there. It doesn't really
- 38:39matter. So, I'm one of 55, which to me,
- 38:41I I like that number. That is a better
- 38:44number for me. I like being one of a
- 38:46smaller number. So, that's what we're
- 38:47trying to uh we're get to. Oh, here you
- 38:50go. Hulk one and a 1.5. There's 13 only.
- 38:54And I'm one of 13 in a one in a 1.5 for
- 38:59now. For now.
- 39:05Very, very cool. Again, you see the
- 39:07damage that that that these
- 39:10census report, POP report, whatever, for
- 39:12these signatures
- 39:14could do.
- 39:18I mean, the savvy collector is going to
- 39:20go if they're trying to buy a signed
- 39:22book, whether witnessed or verified,
- 39:24whatever. To me, it's really the same
- 39:27for the most part.
- 39:30if you're going to see what that
- 39:31collector is going to do now. They're
- 39:32going to go find that book, see how many
- 39:34are out there signed by a certain, you
- 39:36know, whoever, artist, creator, whatever
- 39:39you want to say, and then they're going
- 39:40to go say, "Well, is this book worth
- 39:41that? Is this going to, you know, that
- 39:44that that's the problem with having too
- 39:45much information?" Sometimes if you go
- 39:47back back in the day before
- 39:49the census, the population report, you
- 39:52know, all the other
- 39:55social media stuff, you had eBay and
- 39:58that was it. That's where you can go to
- 39:59find comic books and find sales and find
- 40:01what things are worth. Now, they're out
- 40:04there everywhere you look. And that is
- 40:07also a detriment to this hobby at times
- 40:09because everybody knows everything if
- 40:12you're if you're into it and and you're
- 40:14a savvy collector, which I think a lot
- 40:15of collectors are now after that comic
- 40:18bust, I'll call it. People who have
- 40:21stuck around, they know their [ __ ] and
- 40:23as they should. That that's good for
- 40:25them.
- 40:28Helmouth, what's going on, man? Yeah,
- 40:30Hulk's one always been rare and and I'm
- 40:32shocked that like forever that that book
- 40:35didn't take off cuz I I've said it from
- 40:38day one that Hulk one is Jack's best
- 40:40cover in my opinion. It's the most
- 40:42creative to me. I I think a lot of the
- 40:44times a simple cover is
- 40:47more desirable. It's better looking.
- 40:49There's not too much going on as opposed
- 40:51to some of the other crazy covers out
- 40:53there where it's it's very hard to see
- 40:54things certain times. Um, again, Jack
- 40:57was the king in more ways than one when
- 41:00it comes to that. So, I I think in my
- 41:02opinion, the Hulk one was Jack's best
- 41:05cover. And obviously, you know, AF15 is
- 41:09Stan's best work, but I think Hulk one
- 41:12is right behind it.
- 41:15Imagine if we could search the census
- 41:16for all the Stanley Sigs, there would be
- 41:19probably like a hundred,000. I I agree.
- 41:21He signed a ton of stuff. My my whole
- 41:24thing was like if if people got Stanley
- 41:27to sign something absolutely ridiculous
- 41:29and was like all right he signed some
- 41:32nonsignificant
- 41:34copper age book you know in the '9s like
- 41:37I like I just just because they maybe
- 41:40they wanted Stan sick I don't know like
- 41:41I always felt like that was weird when
- 41:43people get stuff signed like you know
- 41:45Stan I don't even think was working for
- 41:46Marvel at that time like okay you wanted
- 41:48him sign a Spider-Man book cuz you know
- 41:50co-creator of Spider-Man I get it but
- 41:53Uh, I don't know. I always found that
- 41:55weird. Does anybody else agree with me?
- 42:00Maybe I'm the only one.
- 42:07Sorry, I was just checking all the
- 42:08freaking messages I'm getting right now.
- 42:10But again, if anybody wants to hop on,
- 42:12guys, and chat, it's already like it's
- 42:14been like 50 minutes already. Man, these
- 42:16these chats fly by, not going to lie.
- 42:19Has anybody picked up anything good?
- 42:23Like I saw Swag said he picked up a
- 42:26bunch of comics recently on one of his
- 42:29streams that he did. But outside of
- 42:30that, like I am not seeing many people
- 42:33buy things and post about it. So maybe
- 42:37they're just picking up stuff and not
- 42:39posting about it. No idea. But uh the
- 42:43the um Happy Gilmore says his key
- 42:45collector said my collection is worth
- 42:4740K. Somebody offered me 5K. Is this a
- 42:51ripoff? This is before I decided to
- 42:53grade it. I thought it was low, so I
- 42:56started grading, which is costing me a
- 42:58lot. I'm waiting
- 43:00on an Iron Man 1, ASM300, and Giantsiz
- 43:04X-Men 1, and Hulk 181 to get graded. Do
- 43:08you do
- 43:10you usually sell sell at fair market
- 43:13value? So, let me say this.
- 43:16If you're grading the books to sell, I
- 43:18understand why you're doing so. So that
- 43:21makes sense. I don't know. My camera
- 43:22always goes in and out. Maybe because
- 43:23I'm moving.
- 43:25Uh, so if you're grading to sell, I
- 43:27understand that.
- 43:29I mean, I will say this, I love the Key
- 43:31Collector app. Um, obviously I do two
- 43:34videos based on on a lot of the
- 43:36information they have on that app, and
- 43:37it's it to me it's still the best comic
- 43:39book app there is out there. But the
- 43:42price valuation
- 43:44that they use to give you the value of
- 43:47your comics, I wouldn't go by that. What
- 43:50I would do if you want to spend the
- 43:52money to have the books graded, I would
- 43:54use either go collect or GPA analysis to
- 43:58go price your books that way. They can
- 44:00give you the last sales. I will also, if
- 44:03you don't know what those are, if you if
- 44:04you're newer to this, if you send me a
- 44:06list of your books and the the grades, I
- 44:09will get you some of them for you
- 44:11because that's how nice I am. That's the
- 44:13next [ __ ] thing. But no, seriously,
- 44:14you want to reach out to me on
- 44:15Instagram, you know, send me a picture
- 44:18of the book. Uh, I have a lot of people
- 44:19send me pictures of their books and say,
- 44:21"Hey, what do you think the grades are
- 44:22in this?" And I don't guarantee grades,
- 44:25but I can guide you in a general
- 44:26direction. And if you have them graded
- 44:28already, I can give you values of what
- 44:30some of them are 100%.
- 44:33So if you're also looking to sell your
- 44:35collection, reach out to me because I
- 44:38will let you know roughly what you got,
- 44:41what you don't got. As long as you send
- 44:42me pictures or video, you know, that's
- 44:45that's an easy thing. But someone
- 44:48offered you 5K and 40K, I I could see
- 44:50dealer doing that. There's no question.
- 44:51They want to make the most bang for
- 44:52their buck, so they're going to pay you
- 44:53the least. But with that said, that
- 44:56doesn't mean that your collection's
- 44:57worth 40k.
- 45:01Tacoma is still alive, baby. But are you
- 45:03with all your parts? That's the
- 45:05question.
- 45:07Comics and robotics. I love that name,
- 45:09man. Hey, Mighty. Hope you got my
- 45:11message about what I was thinking. Her
- 45:12name should be Tiffany.
- 45:14I I got a ton of messages. I got to tell
- 45:17you, people ask me like, "Why did you
- 45:19post that?" Because one, I'd like to
- 45:21communicate with the people out there in
- 45:22the community on certain things. So,
- 45:24like that got a lot of responses. So, it
- 45:26was great. So, yes, I definitely got
- 45:28everybody's response. What I plan on
- 45:30doing with that is maybe even coming up
- 45:33with the top three that were suggested
- 45:35and then putting it up and let people
- 45:36vote. We could call her. So, definitely
- 45:39thank you again. I appreciate it.
- 45:42Helmouth says, "Stan did a signing at my
- 45:44local comic shop in the late 80s. He
- 45:46signed everything. He signed anything
- 45:48and everything that was put in front of
- 45:50him. He signed for hours and didn't
- 45:52charge anyone a dime." Well, no one's
- 45:54saying Stan wasn't the man cuz he was to
- 45:56me, you know, it's always been
- 46:02Ramita and Stan are to me like one and
- 46:05one A and then it's Jack and Todd,
- 46:10you know, right behind them.
- 46:13So, I've always loved Eric Larson, too.
- 46:15So, I'll put him behind them. Uh, so
- 46:18those are the those are the artists and
- 46:20creators that I grew up reading.
- 46:23Obviously, a bunch of other writers or
- 46:26you can throw in there as well from the
- 46:2880s that were great.
- 46:36Brandon Metro, did you change your name?
- 46:40Is that who I'm thinking of or am I
- 46:42thinking of somebody else?
- 46:49So, Happy Gilmore says, "I'm really just
- 46:51guessing on grades, but they're good.
- 46:54I'm really just guess on grades, but
- 46:56they good." And my first batch got a got
- 46:59six 9.8s.
- 47:02His favorite artist is he likes Mike
- 47:04Zack. Wow, that's 6 9.8s. But what what
- 47:07age are the books? Are they from like
- 47:08the 80s? Are they from the 90s? Are they
- 47:10from the Bronze Age, which is like the
- 47:1270s?
- 47:14That's crazy. Metro. Yeah, it is Metro.
- 47:17What's going on, Brandon? You changed
- 47:18your name. I like it. Comics and
- 47:20Robotics.
- 47:22It's got a ring to it. So, again, I'm
- 47:25going to say to anybody out there, I'm
- 47:28going to keep repeating myself. If you
- 47:29want to come on the stream, come talk
- 47:31with me. Come talk with us, I should
- 47:33say. Us meaning
- 47:36the people in the chat. The link is in
- 47:39the description and pinned. It's also in
- 47:41the, you know, I said it's in the
- 47:42description. And it's also pinned.
- 47:45Heck tech double K curious. Does that
- 47:49lighting on your comics behind you
- 47:50affect the covers longterm? So no what
- 47:53what one the lighting is very very mild
- 47:55but two the lighting on here only stays
- 47:58on while I'm in this room and filming a
- 48:00video. Other than that it never is on.
- 48:02So like the amount that gets shine on
- 48:05here is totally fine. 100%. If it was
- 48:07left on all day, all night. Plus there's
- 48:09no window. There's one window in this
- 48:10room that is blacked out. So, there's no
- 48:13other light that comes in the room.
- 48:14We're golden.
- 48:22You never know who's in the room,
- 48:23Brandon. There might be some serial
- 48:24killers in here. You never know. But I
- 48:27don't blame you. Even though there's a
- 48:28lot of YouTubers who use their real
- 48:29name, which I find is cool.
- 48:33So, Happy Gilmore says, "Wolverine 1,
- 48:35Predator 1, which has obviously been
- 48:37been on the hot 10 list forever. ASM
- 48:40316. You did say that was a 9.8, 8. So
- 48:42that's a good one. Cap annual 8. You did
- 48:44say that. ASM 299 and 298 and the 98.
- 48:49Holy [ __ ] Those got to be expensive
- 48:51books cuz they're both white covers
- 48:54and they're new stands. He says,
- 48:58"Dude,
- 49:02that's in that's right there could be
- 49:04like two grand."
- 49:07So, I don't know how many books you have
- 49:09because you said you priced your
- 49:10collection at 40K and somebody offered
- 49:12you five, but the books you showed me,
- 49:14all the 98 probably add up about to 2K,
- 49:17maybe a little bit more, especially a
- 49:18new stand, probably more than that. So,
- 49:21I'm going to say right now that maybe
- 49:24you're uh
- 49:26somebody lowballed the [ __ ] out of you,
- 49:27my friend. But that's just a guess until
- 49:29I see everything. But yeah, damn. 9.8
- 49:32news stands and this is your personal
- 49:34collection from back in the day.
- 49:37That's wild.
- 49:39Congrats to you, my friend. Keeping your
- 49:41books that you bought off the shelf for
- 49:43that long and they're 9.8 and they're
- 49:46they're keys, too. That's the best part
- 49:48of it. Awesome, bro.
- 49:52Oh, man. You guys are killing me
- 49:53tonight. Everybody's so quiet. Killing
- 49:55me.
- 49:57You know, it's funny. I um
- 50:00he said he's got an ASM 301 at CGC right
- 50:03now, too. That's that also that that
- 50:05homage to 300 in the white cover, which
- 50:07is impossible to get in a 9.8. We'll see
- 50:10if that comes back. That that's I think
- 50:11that's like a $2,000 book or maybe less
- 50:14now. Maybe that price is during the
- 50:16boom, but probably 13,400 I would think
- 50:19in a 9.8 if that comes back alone. No
- 50:22question. That's a notorious impossible
- 50:25book to get in a 98. So, let me know on
- 50:28that. Happy G. Do you have an Instagram
- 50:30account? Follow me over there, mighty
- 50:32comics collectibles. This way, you can
- 50:34have an easier conversation with me.
- 50:36Even if you just start one and just
- 50:38follow me and write me a message,
- 50:42Cross Bronx, my brother, we were just
- 50:43chatting before on Instagram. Does PSA
- 50:46change its label color if a book is
- 50:48restored? If not, do you think restored
- 50:50books will hold more value? You answer
- 50:52this question on the the thing I put out
- 50:54for the podcast. So, I don't know if I
- 50:55want to answer this because I would like
- 50:56to answer it on the podcast, but I'll
- 50:59answer it now because we usually don't
- 51:00have a lot of people who watch the live
- 51:02stream when they rewind. So, no, they do
- 51:04not change the label for a restored
- 51:06book. They'll leave the color the same.
- 51:08And even CGC had said now if they can go
- 51:11back, they would never have different
- 51:12colored labels for
- 51:14restored or qualified because those
- 51:16books are harder to sell now because of
- 51:17it. They have like this stigma on them,
- 51:19which I get. So, PSA does not do that.
- 51:25Do I think it will add value? No. I
- 51:27don't think this they're going to change
- 51:28the market uh in retrospect because of
- 51:31that by keeping the label because CBCS
- 51:33did the same thing and it didn't help
- 51:34the market. I know PSA is a better
- 51:36brand. Um
- 51:40I'm going to say this and I've said this
- 51:42my entire time talking about restored
- 51:44and qualified books.
- 51:46There's a stigma to them. Do do they
- 51:49should they be owned?
- 51:52The only reason they should be owned if
- 51:54you know that you're never getting
- 51:55another copy of Blue Label Universal for
- 51:58that book. That's the only way I would
- 52:00own them. The second part to that,
- 52:03unless it's a book that's nearly
- 52:04impossible to get, there are so few mini
- 52:07copies out there in the census or if
- 52:09there are, it's just ridiculously
- 52:11priced. Like I have an action 12 that I
- 52:14it's incomplete. It's not restored, but
- 52:16it's incomplete. just want the the uh
- 52:18the Batman, you know, coupon or snippet
- 52:21that they have in there, a picture of
- 52:22him. That's the only reason I bought it.
- 52:24I don't want to spend crazy amount of
- 52:26money on a complete because I don't care
- 52:27about the rest of the book. I only
- 52:29wanted that because it's a piece of
- 52:30history. That's my feeling on them. And
- 52:33and I've owned restored books in the
- 52:35past. I don't own restored books
- 52:37anymore. [snorts]
- 52:42Campbell, what's going on? You didn't
- 52:44miss much. We was just yapping. just
- 52:45talking about the market, everything
- 52:47collectible. So, swags, [clears throat]
- 52:49I offered you to come on, but okay, we
- 52:51can do it this way.
- 52:53And anybody can come on. I did not talk
- 52:56about the Super 9 Superman 9.0 a little
- 52:58bit. I touched on it a little bit
- 52:59because we talked about how it would
- 53:01affect the market a little bit and I
- 53:03said I don't really think it's going to
- 53:04do anything. What I said was is that if
- 53:06anything, it's going to bring people who
- 53:09only care about money. Maybe I'll like
- 53:12now like let me see if I can buy a
- 53:14ridiculous comic and try to flip it.
- 53:15Those investors and you may get some
- 53:16investors that come in. But you may get
- 53:19some lazy fair people who don't do much
- 53:22don't know much about comics and see a
- 53:23$9 million sale the most expensive comic
- 53:25ever and say, "Wow, let's get into
- 53:27comics dip their toes in, but I don't
- 53:30think it's going to change really much,
- 53:31right? The people who were in this hobby
- 53:33now are not going to go out and start
- 53:34buying more comics because of that
- 53:35Superman sale." That's basically what I
- 53:37said.
- 53:38All in all, I'm shocked that that book
- 53:41sold for 9 million. I'm shocked that
- 53:44that book was found in somebody's attic
- 53:45and then hit the market as the highest
- 53:47graded, right? That that's an even
- 53:48bigger shock because maybe about a year
- 53:50ago, I put out a video when that Tech 27
- 53:54came out of a garage sale and then
- 53:57another one after that now uh Landry Pop
- 53:59Auctions that came out of um or maybe
- 54:01that was the same book that just got
- 54:02graded. Regardless, like you don't know
- 54:05what the [ __ ] is out there right now.
- 54:06You have no idea what's still out there.
- 54:08We none of us do. So, when you have a
- 54:11highest ever in a in a really desirable
- 54:14look at Superman number one, that's
- 54:16going to that's going to pop off. I'm
- 54:18shocked that I didn't think it was
- 54:19getting to 9 million. I thought maybe
- 54:2067, but uh something I heard 12. People
- 54:24are saying they thought it was going to
- 54:24go to 12. I I thought that would be
- 54:26crazy. Um because it's it's not a first
- 54:29appearance. I understand it's just
- 54:30Superman one, but I don't know. with
- 54:32that action 8.5 not too long ago. To me,
- 54:35that should have or or whatever that
- 54:37that that should go for more than this
- 54:39book. There's no question in my mind. I
- 54:42don't care if it's a top of sensor or
- 54:43not.
- 54:51Comics and robotics says, "I'm so happy
- 54:53Cyclops is coming to the MCU and Cameron
- 54:55is rebooting Terminator." I heard
- 54:58Cameron was coming back to Terminator. I
- 55:00don't know if he was rebooting
- 55:01Terminator. Is that what he's doing? My
- 55:03soul can rest once these items are
- 55:06complete. That's what he's looking
- 55:07forward to. A new Terminator. I got to
- 55:10assume Arnold's going to be in the movie
- 55:11at some point, but is is it's going to
- 55:13be more of the same. Like when you say
- 55:15reboot,
- 55:17I don't know how you reboot that movie.
- 55:18Like they they've had so many ones after
- 55:21too that have just been terrible. I
- 55:23don't know how you reboot that film. I I
- 55:24just don't know. If they start a new
- 55:26Terminator, are they they telling a
- 55:27whole new story or they just retelling
- 55:29the same story? And why would you want
- 55:31to retell the same story? Because that
- 55:33was the movie was picture perfect, man.
- 55:36It really was. The first Terminator was
- 55:37like the first [ __ ] Rambo. Picture
- 55:40perfect.
- 55:45Yeah. I mean, it's And like Swag said
- 55:48when I watched his video, they say they
- 55:50call that book a 9.0, but is it? I mean,
- 55:53I'm not I don't I don't claim to be a
- 55:57perfect golden age grader. I'm not. I
- 55:59far from it, folks. But to me, that book
- 56:02didn't look like a 9.0. Does it look
- 56:04like a good copy? Yes, but it doesn't
- 56:06look like a 9.0 to me. And he brought
- 56:08that up, too. So, I I don't know. This
- 56:11to me, you know, it screams what the
- 56:14[ __ ]
- 56:17What's up with DC? Who do you want to
- 56:20buy? Oh, who do you You're talking about
- 56:22Warner Brothers. I'm even hearing a
- 56:24Snider verse stuff. What's up with that?
- 56:28Uh, Warner Brothers. I don't care who
- 56:29buys it. Um, I Netflix is a really
- 56:32intriguing option. I'm not going to lie
- 56:34to you. I heard they're in in the
- 56:35running now to buy Warner Brothers. I
- 56:37did hear of that if Paramount bought
- 56:40uh Warner is that James Goen would be
- 56:41out. What I really would like to talk
- 56:45about is Superman. I mentioned this when
- 56:47I did my my MOTU video and people were
- 56:49up in arms that a lot of people agree
- 56:51with me and a lot of people didn't that
- 56:52how bad Superman was. I've said it. I
- 56:55did not think the movie was good. I
- 56:56thought it was okay at best, but I was
- 56:59expecting a lot more from James Gunn in
- 57:01this movie. A lot more emotion, a lot
- 57:02more heart, a lot more true to what I
- 57:05remember Superman being as a kid. Now,
- 57:06that may not be what we got in Silver
- 57:08Age comics. Don't get me wrong. I
- 57:10understand that Superman was a little
- 57:11goofy in some of those comics, but I
- 57:15thought he really missed the mark
- 57:16considering how good his Guardians
- 57:18movies were. I really thought he missed
- 57:20the mark. That was a bigger thing with
- 57:21me. I don't see Snider stuff ever
- 57:24returning. I I just can't see it.
- 57:26There's no freaking way. There's no way.
- 57:29I I don't even know why people would
- 57:30want it. People I thought I thought Man
- 57:32of Steel was okay. It was It was decent.
- 57:34It was watchable. It was good. Certain
- 57:35things I didn't like. Certain things I
- 57:36did. Thought it was a better Superman
- 57:38film than than the one we just got. But
- 57:43uh I thought Batman, but Affleck as
- 57:46Batman had a great scene, one great
- 57:48scene in that movie and the rest of the
- 57:49rest of that Batman Superman was god
- 57:51awful. He looked apart and then that was
- 57:54it. The movie itself was [ __ ]
- 57:57Uh, Swags is not home, but I'm glad
- 57:59you're listening to me out and about, my
- 58:00friend.
- 58:04Well, it's sad that he's struggling with
- 58:06the storyline, which is actually music
- 58:08to my ears. It's hard. Like, he's
- 58:09talking about the Terminator. Like I
- 58:11said, I don't know where he would go
- 58:12with this.
- 58:15This is a good question. So, Campbell
- 58:17says, "Do you think Golden Auctions is a
- 58:19good platform to buy books?
- 58:22to buy books. I'm going to say this. You
- 58:26can use whatever platform you can to get
- 58:28the best deal on comic books. So, I
- 58:30don't care where you buy your books
- 58:31from. I think the better question is, is
- 58:34it a good platform to sell books, right?
- 58:38We've seen them get comic books. We've
- 58:41seen them sell comic books. Do they
- 58:42always go for the greatest amount sold?
- 58:44No. Okay, let's be honest. Have they had
- 58:48some good sales? Yeah, they have. I'm
- 58:50not saying they haven't. But
- 58:53to buy if you're getting a deal on a
- 58:55comic book, like I said, the information
- 58:58is out there what you should be paying
- 58:59for anything right now. That's the day
- 59:01we're in. The the age we're in, excuse
- 59:04me. We
- 59:06like you. We're living in an age we have
- 59:08all the answers at your fingertips of
- 59:10what you should pay for anything unless
- 59:12it's super rare. Like if there's
- 59:13something out there that we've never
- 59:14seen before come to market and I don't
- 59:16think that would happen in comics, like
- 59:18I just don't. We we pretty much have
- 59:20seen everything. Uh like I said, you may
- 59:23get more of the same come out in
- 59:25different grades. We just got that that
- 59:26highest Superman ever come out, so we we
- 59:29don't know what they're going to sell
- 59:30for. But outside of something like that
- 59:32coming to market, you should know what
- 59:36you you pay for every book out there.
- 59:37So, is it a good platform? Sure, it's a
- 59:39good platform. Just, you know, going in
- 59:42what something should sell for. So, it's
- 59:43what you're willing to to pay under that
- 59:46or over that for that matter if it's how
- 59:48bad you want it.
- 59:51All right. So, here's a good good test.
- 59:54He says, Brandon says, "My mom heard
- 59:56about the 9.0 Superman of the World
- 59:59News." This is what I'm talking about.
- 1:00:00Like, information like this gets out
- 1:00:02there and they get people talking like,
- 1:00:04"Oh, let's go check out a comic show uh
- 1:00:06shop. Oh, let's go check out like a con
- 1:00:08local in my area." That's where you get
- 1:00:10people to come in that's like all right
- 1:00:12that don't really to know much about the
- 1:00:14medium now they want to like kind of dip
- 1:00:16their toe in the water. That's what I
- 1:00:17think this kind of sale does. Said I
- 1:00:19touched before about the a the AF15 9.4
- 1:00:22that sold that started the comic boom
- 1:00:23really right then all of a sudden AF15
- 1:00:26started taking off which is weird
- 1:00:28because I actually remember like talking
- 1:00:30about why AF15s weren't moving when
- 1:00:33other comics were moving. Like other
- 1:00:35comics started really go up in value and
- 1:00:36AF15s were doing nothing. And I remember
- 1:00:38people messaging me on IG and I do
- 1:00:40remember the one person who was bringing
- 1:00:42it up. Shout out to him. It's like, why
- 1:00:44isn't AF15 moving? All of a sudden that
- 1:00:46book sold and then it was off to the
- 1:00:47races. Um,
- 1:00:50so again,
- 1:00:52I do think you'll get some investors who
- 1:00:54pop back in who haven't been hurt during
- 1:00:57the crash. I don't think that does
- 1:00:59anything for the market itself, but it
- 1:01:01does get new people to come in. I don't
- 1:01:03think it's going to be a lot, but you
- 1:01:04get some new people here and there,
- 1:01:05which I think is good for the hobby.
- 1:01:09Swag says he also did not like Superman.
- 1:01:11So, we have the same taste. Swags, I
- 1:01:13gota ask you, were you a Masters of
- 1:01:14Universe fan growing up as a kid? I know
- 1:01:16I'm a little bit older than you, or was
- 1:01:17that maybe past your your your point.
- 1:01:22JSS, let me ask you, JSS, do you have
- 1:01:24the wrench next to your name because I
- 1:01:26added you? Because I can't tell on the
- 1:01:28reream who has a wrench and who doesn't
- 1:01:30now. Doesn't give me that info anymore.
- 1:01:34But I did add you, my friend. Maurice
- 1:01:37says, "More people will search their
- 1:01:39parents' atticss and basements because
- 1:01:40of the Superman 1 9.0. I've been all
- 1:01:43over my dad's attic and basement,
- 1:01:44whatever. He doesn't have anything left,
- 1:01:47unfortunately." And my dad, I don't
- 1:01:48think was that into comics. He was into
- 1:01:50like like uh cards, you know? If he had
- 1:01:53like a a a mantle card from back in the
- 1:01:56day, I might be a rich man. But
- 1:02:00we've had that discussion many years ago
- 1:02:01already about what got tossed out and
- 1:02:04stuff like that when he was a kid.
- 1:02:08Swag says dealers celebrated the
- 1:02:10Superman sale like they won't like they
- 1:02:11won the Super Bowl. Why? Because they
- 1:02:14know the normies are now coming to buy
- 1:02:16100 100%.
- 1:02:19I mentioned at the start of the show if
- 1:02:21if anybody's here at the start of the
- 1:02:22show, we had one big dealer. I'm not
- 1:02:24going to name them, but it says the
- 1:02:26market right now is a really crappy
- 1:02:28market. So, when a book like this sells
- 1:02:30for the amount of sold, you're going to
- 1:02:31get new people in. Like I said, for us,
- 1:02:33for the people who are already in it and
- 1:02:35and the collectors that I I say it all
- 1:02:38the time now, this the savvy collectors
- 1:02:40that that we've all become, this doesn't
- 1:02:42phase us. It's the new people come in
- 1:02:43and they're going to that don't have the
- 1:02:45GPA that go collects and all that other
- 1:02:47stuff in their back pocket when they're
- 1:02:49pricing books. But hopefully they learn
- 1:02:51quickly and they don't get burned. And
- 1:02:53that's the whole thing.
- 1:02:59I'm searching my wall soon. My house is
- 1:03:01pre 1960, so there could be something in
- 1:03:04here. What was the what what were the
- 1:03:05story about the guy finding an action
- 1:03:07one in inside a wall and who was it like
- 1:03:11the family members like ripped it or
- 1:03:13whatever? They were fighting over over
- 1:03:14something about the book and they they
- 1:03:16ripped the book. Did anybody hear about
- 1:03:17this story years ago?
- 1:03:20Wild. Absolutely freaking wild.
- 1:03:24You never know what the [ __ ] is out
- 1:03:25there. People are going to be buying
- 1:03:26homes just to look for for comics and
- 1:03:29stuff like that in the walls.
- 1:03:35So
- 1:03:37Happy Gilmore says he's waiting on ASM
- 1:03:41129 and Ghost Rider one also that he's
- 1:03:44got at CGC. All right, dude. Let us know
- 1:03:46what you get back. There's no way that
- 1:03:47somebody offered you five grand for all
- 1:03:49these books. There's if they then if you
- 1:03:52have an ASM129 all the books you
- 1:03:54mentioned in newstand
- 1:03:56it's worth over four or five grand. No
- 1:03:59question. So I don't think it's the 40
- 1:04:02but I don't know what else you have too
- 1:04:04brother. So if you want to send it to me
- 1:04:05you're you're more than welcome.
- 1:04:09JSSX brings a good point up. Hit the
- 1:04:11like button for me guys. It does help
- 1:04:13the channel. I say it all the time when
- 1:04:14when I start my videos. But yeah,
- 1:04:18another great thing I should bring up is
- 1:04:21like,
- 1:04:23is anybody excited for Doomsday and
- 1:04:26Spider-Man Brand New Day? Because I feel
- 1:04:29like
- 1:04:30nobody's talking about that anymore. I
- 1:04:32see like the proverbial YouTube channels
- 1:04:36that bring up every little piece of
- 1:04:38detail and I guess I do that now
- 1:04:40regarding to the MOTU movie because I'm
- 1:04:42like the guy who does it now like on
- 1:04:44YouTube but these guys are like
- 1:04:46relentless and they do a good job. Don't
- 1:04:47get me wrong, I love listening to it.
- 1:04:49But but some of it's to the point where
- 1:04:50it's it's it's out of hand. Like there's
- 1:04:53a lot of misinformation out there. So I
- 1:04:56just want to know from you guys. Anybody
- 1:04:59interested in that stuff anymore? Like
- 1:05:00I'm looking forward to movies, but at
- 1:05:02the same time I'm not as geared up as I
- 1:05:04used to be.
- 1:05:11And that's it. We're back to silence.
- 1:05:12And again, I'm going to say if anybody
- 1:05:14want to jump on here, I maybe got like
- 1:05:16another 20 or so depending on what you
- 1:05:18guys want to talk about. Like we want to
- 1:05:19talk about something, I I'll be happy to
- 1:05:21stay on. I got nothing else going on.
- 1:05:23But at the same time,
- 1:05:26um, you know,
- 1:05:29I was going to do a video and I wasn't
- 1:05:31sure if it was going to be a podcast or
- 1:05:32just a straight video about,
- 1:05:35uh, the market itself in all of
- 1:05:37collectibles because it's not just, uh,
- 1:05:42comics at this point. It's like every
- 1:05:44collectible market has taken a beating
- 1:05:45besides Pokemon.
- 1:05:47And I think Swag's touched on this on on
- 1:05:50his new podcast with the four guys
- 1:05:52because he's got the card guy on there
- 1:05:53in Neo, but uh
- 1:05:56like the cards have really taken a
- 1:05:58beating now. There's like some of the
- 1:06:01the sports card stuff. So, there's a lot
- 1:06:02of stuff going on there. I just I feel
- 1:06:05like it's all going in waves. like the
- 1:06:06comics I think were the first to kind of
- 1:06:08go and then
- 1:06:10uh you know the one thing that really
- 1:06:12hasn't hit like a crash yet is is that
- 1:06:14those toys because the toy market is is
- 1:06:16very different in the fact that you can
- 1:06:19have an item that you're going to see
- 1:06:20one time. I talked about this the last
- 1:06:21time a little bit. I think you're going
- 1:06:22to see an item once and then you're
- 1:06:24never going to see that item again and
- 1:06:26that's it. Where certain things you'll
- 1:06:28see all the time you go to a toy show.
- 1:06:30So like that toy market for specifics
- 1:06:33can be really really like crazy. But
- 1:06:35outside of that, people who watch me for
- 1:06:37garbage with kids is the same thing.
- 1:06:38They've all like kind of crashed ever
- 1:06:40since I started putting out a lot of
- 1:06:41those videos. They've really tanked. And
- 1:06:43still this day, those are the most
- 1:06:45questions I get asked is about Garbage
- 1:06:47Bookheads. It's like I'm the the
- 1:06:48authority now, which is wild to me
- 1:06:50because I put out a a few videos that
- 1:06:53did well.
- 1:06:56Brandon says, "We need a good MCU
- 1:06:58mystery alongside the backstory.
- 1:07:00Something we can all get behind like
- 1:07:02Wanda Vision." I agree. Like I do enjoy
- 1:07:05like the one thing I'll say this, it's
- 1:07:07not MCU, but it I guess it's the new DCU
- 1:07:11or or apart from the DCU is the Matt
- 1:07:13Reeves Batman film. How good was that as
- 1:07:16a story and as like a mystery? I found
- 1:07:19that to be exceptional. And for what
- 1:07:21I've heard, I don't know if you guys
- 1:07:22heard what Colin Ferrell said about the
- 1:07:23the new Batman 2 script. He said it's
- 1:07:27amazing. He said it's amazing and that
- 1:07:30we're in for such a treat. So, I can see
- 1:07:33this outside of Spider-Man brand new
- 1:07:35day, which I am looking forward to
- 1:07:38Batman 2 and obviously Mass Universe
- 1:07:41comes number one. I've been waiting for
- 1:07:42this forever. I've said it 40 plus
- 1:07:44years. I've been waiting for this movie.
- 1:07:46Batman 2 and I'm looking more forward to
- 1:07:50that than anything else because I I was
- 1:07:52shocked how good the first one is. And
- 1:07:53when they said they were coming out with
- 1:07:55that film, I'm like, why are they doing
- 1:07:56another Batman so soon already? And and
- 1:07:58they're changing everything. I was so
- 1:07:59against it. And then when I actually I
- 1:08:01didn't even see it in the theater. I
- 1:08:02actually waited for it to come out on
- 1:08:04streaming and then I watched it and I
- 1:08:05was blown away how good that was. So
- 1:08:09outstanding. The Penguin was also
- 1:08:11outstanding. Got me hooked on that. So,
- 1:08:14I'm waiting for more from Matt Reeves
- 1:08:16and anything surrounding that universe
- 1:08:18because it was really really that to me
- 1:08:20like outside of the Nolan trilogy and
- 1:08:23obviously the Infinity Saga and I'm when
- 1:08:26I say Infinity Saga, I'm talking about
- 1:08:27Infinity War, Endgame and all the movies
- 1:08:31to to wrap up that story that Batman to
- 1:08:35world that they're creating there. I
- 1:08:37don't think that James Gunn is going to
- 1:08:38be able to recreate that what whatever
- 1:08:41he's going to do with the Batman
- 1:08:42character. I just don't think it's going
- 1:08:43to be h possible and I think it's going
- 1:08:45to ruin his Batman. That's just my
- 1:08:47opinion.
- 1:08:50So JS says he's more excited for the
- 1:08:52world by night part two. So I did enjoy
- 1:08:54that as well. maybe probably less than
- 1:08:56other people did, but I did enjoy the
- 1:08:57fact that it was black and white and
- 1:08:59they threw it back to like an old, you
- 1:09:01know, ' 60s7s horror show like you know
- 1:09:05like that had that type of vibe to it
- 1:09:07like almost like a
- 1:09:10uh Abbott and Costello like remember
- 1:09:12when they go back and and do all the
- 1:09:15monster the shows like that's what it
- 1:09:16reminded me of and I actually I love
- 1:09:17that growing up as a kid.
- 1:09:23I'm go I'm like fish. Who's Fish? Then I
- 1:09:25realized Fish. F you. Great great name,
- 1:09:27brother. I am not excited about any
- 1:09:30previews for movies because the movie
- 1:09:32doesn't hold up and is very
- 1:09:33disappointing. There hasn't been a lot
- 1:09:35of great movies that come out,
- 1:09:36especially for the MCU, but I don't
- 1:09:38think it's any anything that's been
- 1:09:40truly horrendous,
- 1:09:43right?
- 1:09:46I don't know. Danny says he agrees. The
- 1:09:48Batman 2. Also looking forward to the
- 1:09:50swamp thing if they ever get it made.
- 1:09:53Well, that's the thing now that Warers
- 1:09:56is going to be sold, you know, if they
- 1:09:58sell, I should say. We're not sure
- 1:09:59that's going to happen. And maybe Swags
- 1:10:00can probably give us more information on
- 1:10:03that because if it's what he does for
- 1:10:04work,
- 1:10:06but
- 1:10:14give me a second.
- 1:10:21All right. Um, yeah. I mean,
- 1:10:26I lost my train of thought. No, my wife
- 1:10:27is texting me something. And that was
- 1:10:28that.
- 1:10:31Regardless, Batman 2, I what I was
- 1:10:34saying was if James Gun sticks around,
- 1:10:37we'll see if they if they sell and they
- 1:10:39want to go in a different direction. I
- 1:10:41don't know. I would like to see Netflix
- 1:10:43get this because I think they have the
- 1:10:44best chance of succeeding with a lot of
- 1:10:46these characters because of what they're
- 1:10:48able to do on their streaming platform.
- 1:10:50But then again, they also said that they
- 1:10:51were going to, you know, do theatrical
- 1:10:54releases as well. So, I do think Netflix
- 1:10:56has done a lot of great things, uh, as
- 1:10:58opposed to some of these other studios,
- 1:11:00they're going to put out films. Uh, who
- 1:11:03knows? I I don't think Warers has done a
- 1:11:05good job with with DC at all. So, I
- 1:11:07mean, outside of the Nolan trilogy,
- 1:11:09outside of the Batman,
- 1:11:12the Superman movies were eh, Snider was
- 1:11:15eh, like, I don't know. So, honestly,
- 1:11:19they need to kind of, I think, move on.
- 1:11:21They need I thought this James Gun was
- 1:11:23going to be a fresh start, and it
- 1:11:25wasn't. It is, but it's not what I was
- 1:11:27expecting. So, I'm going to give him
- 1:11:29another shot. Obviously, uh Supergirl is
- 1:11:31going to be the next movie that comes
- 1:11:32out, right? And
- 1:11:36I get where he's pulling the the
- 1:11:37characters from, but it doesn't mean I'm
- 1:11:40going to enjoy it. So, maybe it's for a
- 1:11:42new modern audience, and that it's not
- 1:11:43for me. So, I I don't know. We we'll
- 1:11:46have to wait and see how that is. So MTU
- 1:11:49you MTU Prince says the new DC is
- 1:11:51terrible. So yeah, I mean we've gotten
- 1:11:53one film. So we have The Lanterns coming
- 1:11:56out on HBO also is going to be out. That
- 1:11:58actually from the little that we've seen
- 1:12:00looks like it could be interesting. More
- 1:12:02of like a James Gun thing to me than a
- 1:12:04Superman would be. So I'm interested in
- 1:12:06seeing that.
- 1:12:11We'll see. Yeah. Yeah. He started with a
- 1:12:13drunk Supergirl. Yeah. I mean,
- 1:12:16that's part of the the one of the runs,
- 1:12:18one of the modern runs that she was like
- 1:12:20that she takes off and she, you know,
- 1:12:21wanders the universe or whatever she
- 1:12:23does. So, again, that's not going to hit
- 1:12:25for every every collector, especially
- 1:12:27people like us maybe who aren't into the
- 1:12:29modern stuff. We want to see more of a
- 1:12:30classic take on these characters, but
- 1:12:33who knows? So, Derek, I agree with you.
- 1:12:35I'm looking forward to that Punisher
- 1:12:37special edition as well, man. I want to
- 1:12:38see how far they take it because I was
- 1:12:41one of one of the people who actually
- 1:12:43loved not just the Daredevil on Netflix,
- 1:12:45but the Punisher
- 1:12:47series, the first couple of series on
- 1:12:48Netflix, I thought was fantastic. I
- 1:12:50thought they nailed it. I thought the
- 1:12:54dude that they got to play Jigsaw was
- 1:12:57phenomenal. I thought that whole arc was
- 1:13:00fantastic. So, I missed that show and
- 1:13:02I'm hoping that this this special is
- 1:13:05going to kind of go that route and be
- 1:13:06extremely violent and we kind of see
- 1:13:08what happens to him because we didn't
- 1:13:09get that. We got it a little bit in the
- 1:13:11um in the show on on Netflix because you
- 1:13:14saw him do the flashbacks. But, uh you
- 1:13:17know, that's what I I love origin. So, I
- 1:13:19wanted them to go into the the origin a
- 1:13:22little bit and
- 1:13:23and see him
- 1:13:26really go true Frank.
- 1:13:31Well, they showed the the van, didn't
- 1:13:32they show the van on the Spider-Man
- 1:13:34brand new day set already?
- 1:13:37I I don't know there's a minigun on
- 1:13:38there, but they definitely showed the
- 1:13:40van, which is cool. And you could tell
- 1:13:43that like Satie Sync, they said they're
- 1:13:44going to be playing Firestar now.
- 1:13:47They're going that 90s animated series
- 1:13:49route in live action. That's what it
- 1:13:51looks like to me. Uh I'm really hoping
- 1:13:53that they they get a Rhino in there
- 1:13:55because I'm hearing Scorpion, which is
- 1:13:58obviously was a big part of that series.
- 1:14:01Shocker was another big part and Rhino
- 1:14:03is a big part of that as well. So like
- 1:14:05those are three villains I think have a
- 1:14:07really good shot of show showing up in
- 1:14:08the the movie as henchmen for Mr.
- 1:14:10Negative. Um, but you know, they're
- 1:14:14going that '90s animated route. So,
- 1:14:17guys, I'm going to I'm going to hop off
- 1:14:18in like a little bit
- 1:14:22uh because my wife's saying there's
- 1:14:23something wrong with something uh
- 1:14:24upstairs. So, I got to go take a look at
- 1:14:26that. But again, I I wanted to come on
- 1:14:27and just shoot the [ __ ] tonight and just
- 1:14:29chat and uh because I had nothing going
- 1:14:31on. It's been a rough week for me. I
- 1:14:33ain't going to lie to you. This is a
- 1:14:34really rough week. So, I needed to kind
- 1:14:36of blow off some steam. This is great.
- 1:14:38So, I really appreciate you guys.
- 1:14:41So again, if if that's it tonight, guys,
- 1:14:42I'm going to end a stream and say thank
- 1:14:43you for hanging with me a little bit. I
- 1:14:45really appreciate it. Again, to uh
- 1:14:47Heritan, thank you again if you're still
- 1:14:48here. I know I said DM me over on
- 1:14:50Instagram for for the super chats, man.
- 1:14:52I got to send you something really
- 1:14:53great. And just stay tuned for
- 1:14:54everything that's coming. I got so much
- 1:14:55more stuff on in the works. I just
- 1:14:57haven't had time to do it. I did have a
- 1:14:59few guests cancel on me for the Rewind
- 1:15:01podcast, unfortunately. So, but I'm
- 1:15:03working on all new guests or people who
- 1:15:05do enjoy listening to that. So, uh some
- 1:15:07really great stuff. So, like always
- 1:15:09guys, Lawrence over at Mighty Coms
- 1:15:11Collectible saying thank you for
- 1:15:12watching.
