- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes seven thirteen and seven fourteen Barrier
- 0:16Speaker 1: Barrier Homage, Holy Fist Strikes, and the Healing Princess Save Mencherie.
- 0:25Speaker 1: In these episodes, we are finally checking in with some
- 0:29Speaker 1: of the other people. But I am a little distressed
- 0:32Speaker 1: that we meet the art art Fruit Lady and we
- 0:35Speaker 1: don't see any hide nor hair of our friends, because
- 0:39Speaker 1: that means that something has gone wrong with them. I'm assuming, like,
- 0:44Speaker 1: what's what's what? What they escaped? But but what are
- 0:49Speaker 1: they doing? Where are they? Welcome to spoil Me, Welcome
- 1:14Speaker 1: to the show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank you very
- 1:17Speaker 1: much to Florian for commissioning this episode, and Florian is
- 1:22Speaker 1: going to be joining me for a live next recording
- 1:25Speaker 1: on Thursday for three episodes. So I am really excited, y'all.
- 1:32Speaker 1: This is this whole thing is so much fun. I'm
- 1:38Speaker 1: having such a good time. I cannot tell you how
- 1:42Speaker 1: shocked I am that as long as this has gone on,
- 1:46Speaker 1: it has managed to keep my attention and keep me
- 1:48Speaker 1: really invested, even when we are with people that aren't
- 1:54Speaker 1: my main interest. And I really I am dead serious.
- 1:59Speaker 1: So that I want to know what's going off on
- 2:02Speaker 1: with our friends because they have been gone for so
- 2:07Speaker 1: long now and I really can't imagine what the hell
- 2:10Speaker 1: they've been doing. Saraphim says. They kicked her off the
- 2:14Speaker 1: ship and when to pick up law and when that
- 2:17Speaker 1: went's south because of Dophie, they amscrayed the fuck away
- 2:19Speaker 1: from dress Rosa to keep Caesar and Momo away from Dophie. Okay,
- 2:25Speaker 1: I didn't realize that they were just leaving dress Rosa
- 2:28Speaker 1: straight up, and maybe that was said and I just
- 2:31Speaker 1: missed it, but yeah, I definitely like didn't realize that
- 2:36Speaker 1: was their Their plan was to just fucking take off,
- 2:41Speaker 1: so God even more than what are they doing? Florence says,
- 2:47Speaker 1: but Big Mom's ship showed up and that was the
- 2:49Speaker 1: last we saw. I thought that she interrupted them while
- 2:53Speaker 1: they were fleeing, so like, I can't remember. At this point,
- 2:59Speaker 1: it has literally been like at least three months since
- 3:03Speaker 1: we've seen them. Yeah, so I really, honestly, I am
- 3:09Speaker 1: behaving as if a certain thing is the last we saw,
- 3:12Speaker 1: and now I'm sort of doubting whether or not I'm
- 3:15Speaker 1: even right about that. I don't know, Saraphim says in
- 3:21Speaker 1: the call with Lufy, he agreed they should head to
- 3:23Speaker 1: Zoo the next island laws planned called for them to
- 3:27Speaker 1: go to Oh I don't remember that at all. Okay,
- 3:32Speaker 1: that's my back. I still I still want to fucking
- 3:35Speaker 1: check in with them, though, like what is happening? Saraphim says.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Also keep in mind that this entire arc is taking
- 3:41Speaker 1: place over a single day, so from their POV, it's
- 3:45Speaker 1: only been a few hours. Wait, wait, that can't be right.
- 3:56Speaker 1: I think you are right, don't get me wrong. But
- 4:03Speaker 1: when you stop and think about it, like that's insane,
- 4:07Speaker 1: it's been one day all of this, I suppose you're right.
- 4:16Speaker 1: It's just that's insane. I never really stopped to think
- 4:24Speaker 1: about how like for things to be the way they are.
- 4:30Speaker 1: We're basically looking at like a twenty four style storytelling,
- 4:37Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Like, Wow, okay, all right,
- 4:43Speaker 1: well I I I'm so sorry. That's a short circuit
- 4:49Speaker 1: in my brain. Seraphim, My god, that is that is
- 4:55Speaker 1: fucking bananas. Okay, all right, Well, let's start with episodes
- 5:02Speaker 1: seven thirteen Barrier Barrier, my Friends, I just really quickly,
- 5:10Speaker 1: I don't know if there's like any danger in looking
- 5:16Speaker 1: this up that I might get spoiled. So I am
- 5:19Speaker 1: asking for y'all to like tag me in the chat
- 5:23Speaker 1: on Discord, the no spoiler chat and let me know
- 5:29Speaker 1: if there is like where I can find this particular
- 5:34Speaker 1: theme song for this part of the arc, because I
- 5:38Speaker 1: am just loving this theme song so much. I really
- 5:41Speaker 1: love it, and I have found myself. Usually what I
- 5:45Speaker 1: do when I'm watching for the show is I will
- 5:49Speaker 1: watch the first episode and let the theme song play out,
- 5:53Speaker 1: and then I will just jump into the next episode
- 5:56Speaker 1: and I will skip the theme song in the intro.
- 5:59Speaker 1: And on this watch, I've just been letting the fucking
- 6:02Speaker 1: intro and the theme song play because I have I
- 6:06Speaker 1: really really like it. So now I'm like, I need
- 6:08Speaker 1: to find out what the name of this song is.
- 6:13Speaker 1: So this arc, or this this segment of it, I guess,
- 6:25Speaker 1: is fascinating. So first of all, we have got what
- 6:29Speaker 1: is his name? Harukhan uh Harukah. He is the alter
- 6:35Speaker 1: ego of Cavendish, who everybody is calling Cabbage. At one
- 6:40Speaker 1: point I think, uh, oh my god, A Bartolameo calls
- 6:49Speaker 1: him bad Cabbage, which is very very funny to me. Hakuba,
- 6:55Speaker 1: thank you Saraphim, and Seraphim says about bartolame aka best Boy. Yeah. Literally, look,
- 7:04Speaker 1: I am going to make a PowerPoint presentation on why
- 7:07Speaker 1: Bartolomeo is the best depiction of non toxic masculinity in
- 7:18Speaker 1: one piece, because this dude, honestly, I think he is
- 7:26Speaker 1: my favorite character ever on the show. I'm just it's
- 7:32Speaker 1: it's such a combination. Like, first of all, he's like
- 7:36Speaker 1: very hot in that weird, like nineties skater punk type
- 7:41Speaker 1: of way, like I could see him being in Green
- 7:44Speaker 1: Day a little bit. He also is super competent and
- 7:49Speaker 1: just like fucking up for it, always down to handle shit,
- 7:55Speaker 1: super supportive, like later on when Robin handles her own shit,
- 7:59Speaker 1: He's just like, I can't I believe I even thought
- 8:00Speaker 1: that I could help her? What am I an idiot?
- 8:02Speaker 1: Of course she doesn't need me, And I was just like, dude,
- 8:05Speaker 1: I love this energy from you, Like he at first
- 8:07Speaker 1: is so devastated because he failed, and then immediately recovers
- 8:11Speaker 1: and it's just like, oh, duh, she's fucking amazing. Of
- 8:14Speaker 1: course she could just do this and love this energy
- 8:17Speaker 1: from him, And just overall, like I think it's also
- 8:22Speaker 1: like the voice actor doing him is really really good,
- 8:26Speaker 1: so his line delivery has tended to just be on
- 8:29Speaker 1: point all the time. I feel like he would be
- 8:36Speaker 1: if I were going to try and get friends of
- 8:40Speaker 1: mine to cause play with me for one piece, I
- 8:44Speaker 1: would probably try and get somebody to cause play as him.
- 8:48Speaker 1: The what I keep running into is who I would
- 8:52Speaker 1: cause play, because while Alvida is my first choice, she's
- 8:57Speaker 1: just not really that much of a part of the
- 8:59Speaker 1: story right now. I don't know if she comes back
- 9:02Speaker 1: around and becomes more part of things, but like she's
- 9:05Speaker 1: really been in and out, and so right now that
- 9:09Speaker 1: I'm in this arc, I'm sort of seeing myself for
- 9:12Speaker 1: the art teacher lady. I can't remember what her actual
- 9:16Speaker 1: name is, but I already have the curly hair. I
- 9:19Speaker 1: would just have to color it. I have, like my
- 9:23Speaker 1: glasses are the wrong color, but they are the right
- 9:27Speaker 1: shape I have. I'm fat. And the fact that she
- 9:33Speaker 1: just keeps on using like like at one point she says, Oh,
- 9:37Speaker 1: that's very crafty of you, or oh, you artless fool.
- 9:41Speaker 1: I can't help but really like love that. So as
- 9:44Speaker 1: much as she is sort of annoying, she keeps on
- 9:49Speaker 1: like there's always this thing and it's very frustrating. It's
- 9:53Speaker 1: not even that she is a character is so annoying.
- 9:55Speaker 1: It's just more that the way that she's written, because
- 10:00Speaker 1: of course the thing is with any fat woman who
- 10:04Speaker 1: isn't ashamed of being fat, we have to keep doing
- 10:08Speaker 1: this joke about how she actually thinks that she's hotter
- 10:11Speaker 1: than she is, which is how it went with Alvida.
- 10:14Speaker 1: You know, she eats this fruit that makes her slender,
- 10:16Speaker 1: but she doesn't see the difference because she always thought
- 10:18Speaker 1: she was hot, which I actually kind of liked that,
- 10:21Speaker 1: but once I see the way it's done with other
- 10:23Speaker 1: like we had the Mermaid Lady the fat Mermaid, and
- 10:27Speaker 1: how everybody was like grossed out by her, and then Jola,
- 10:31Speaker 1: thank you guys, Jola is over here just like pretending
- 10:34Speaker 1: to miss here mon Cherry and being like, oh did
- 10:39Speaker 1: you say I'm the most beautiful woman and dress rosa,
- 10:42Speaker 1: Like do we have to all the time every place
- 10:46Speaker 1: that there's a fat character who's a woman, have it
- 10:49Speaker 1: be that it's hilarious she thinks that she's attractive, because
- 10:53Speaker 1: you know, like it just does really sour things because
- 10:58Speaker 1: I would actually enjoy cause playing this character if there
- 11:02Speaker 1: weren't this weirdness with it. That's the way it feels
- 11:05Speaker 1: with a lot of the different characters. Like the one
- 11:08Speaker 1: character that I could see this doesn't really happen to
- 11:14Speaker 1: and it doesn't because she's not fully human is that
- 11:19Speaker 1: pig Bride from the uh the killer thriller Bark. And
- 11:27Speaker 1: even that is like her throwing herself at a guy
- 11:30Speaker 1: who doesn't want her. It's never that a woman could
- 11:32Speaker 1: just be fat, and because she's fat, it's always got
- 11:35Speaker 1: to be like a huge part of the character is
- 11:40Speaker 1: the joke that she's fat and everybody thinks she's gross,
- 11:44Speaker 1: but she doesn't like over and over and over, we're
- 11:47Speaker 1: just seeing that and it's depressing. It's just really dehumanizing.
- 11:53Speaker 1: So I say that I would causeplay as Jola, but
- 11:56Speaker 1: like with a giant asterisk, because I feel like if
- 11:59Speaker 1: you just stripped away some of that other stuff, she
- 12:02Speaker 1: could be a fun character, but I would have to
- 12:07Speaker 1: overlook a lot, you know. So Anyway, this whole thing
- 12:16Speaker 1: with Robin, when she catches and holds onto Hakuba, it's
- 12:23Speaker 1: really this was not something that I expected. But basically
- 12:29Speaker 1: we see Cavendish fighting against Haakuba in his head. I
- 12:35Speaker 1: wasn't really sure, because I don't know if it's been established,
- 12:43Speaker 1: and it may have been, and I just missed it,
- 12:46Speaker 1: but I couldn't remember if there was a trigger that
- 12:55Speaker 1: we knew about regarding when Hakkuba comes out. In my head,
- 13:01Speaker 1: I had it that like when Cavendish himself gets too tired,
- 13:06Speaker 1: Hakkubud takes over, like while he's asleep, But that doesn't
- 13:10Speaker 1: seem to be what happened here. And I'm maybe it's
- 13:14Speaker 1: like when things get really violent and Hakkubu can feel
- 13:18Speaker 1: that Cavendish is like in danger, he sort of comes
- 13:22Speaker 1: forward as this protector to stop his the body that
- 13:28Speaker 1: he lives in from being harmed. I don't know, but uh, regardless,
- 13:35Speaker 1: I wasn't expecting to see both of them sort of
- 13:39Speaker 1: fighting against one another in this very smeagele versus goleumn
- 13:47Speaker 1: kind of way. And like when Hakabuck comes to the surface,
- 13:53Speaker 1: all that all the Cavendish is trying to do is
- 13:59Speaker 1: be like, bru, if you want to fight people, fine,
- 14:04Speaker 1: but not her. She's on our side. Can you please
- 14:09Speaker 1: just go fight the right people? And Hakuba is not
- 14:13Speaker 1: fucking hearing it. He is like, I'm gonna cut you
- 14:16Speaker 1: in half, and then I'm gonna cut those halves in half,
- 14:19Speaker 1: and then I'm gonna cut those halves into halves and
- 14:21Speaker 1: halves and halves, and I'm just like, Brah, you have
- 14:23Speaker 1: got to fucking chill a little. He has no interest
- 14:26Speaker 1: in chilling. He is not a chiller. That is not
- 14:29Speaker 1: his role. But uh, Cavendish like eventually manages to make
- 14:35Speaker 1: it so that he and Hakuba are each occupying the
- 14:39Speaker 1: body exactly halfway, so that he can simultaneously be in control.
- 14:45Speaker 1: But Hakcooba's insane speed and fighting ability can be fully
- 14:51Speaker 1: taken advantage of which this is the ideal I suppose.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Saraphim says, yeah, the idea was it's when he falls
- 15:00Speaker 1: asleep and he kind of got some narcolepsy type thing
- 15:03Speaker 1: going on where he can fall asleep out of nowhere. Okay,
- 15:07Speaker 1: that's ringing a bell I remember now him like unexpectedly
- 15:11Speaker 1: sleeping Okay, yeah yeah, yeah, thank you Sarah him. So yeah,
- 15:17Speaker 1: all of this is uh, it's very very like fun
- 15:23Speaker 1: to me to see how they have to navigate this.
- 15:26Speaker 1: At one point when he takes over Hakuba, he like
- 15:32Speaker 1: when Cavendish manages to push Hakuba to the background, I
- 15:36Speaker 1: guess it's the best way to say this. He then
- 15:39Speaker 1: says to Robin something like I'm so sorry about that.
- 15:45Speaker 1: You can let me go now, and just tries to
- 15:48Speaker 1: make it like yeah, uh my bad, but we're we're
- 15:51Speaker 1: all set, and She's like, hey, no, I am not
- 15:57Speaker 1: just going to let you go after what I just
- 15:59Speaker 1: saw that you are not convincing me that you are
- 16:03Speaker 1: in control and that he can't come forward at any second,
- 16:07Speaker 1: so fucking of course I am not going to just
- 16:09Speaker 1: let you go. They are in the midst of arguing
- 16:13Speaker 1: about this when the cliff that they are balancing on
- 16:20Speaker 1: begins to expand outwards, and then you hear Gladius yelling
- 16:26Speaker 1: I'll take my revenge on both of you at once,
- 16:29Speaker 1: and I was just like, dude, Gladius, you guys remember
- 16:37Speaker 1: how much I fucking loved his design and what a letdown.
- 16:41Speaker 1: It's not a letdown in like that I'm disappointed in
- 16:45Speaker 1: the characters like how he was created. I am disappointed
- 16:53Speaker 1: in his personality because he is such a bore, and
- 16:58Speaker 1: not in a like I'm criticizing the writing type way.
- 17:01Speaker 1: He is a bore in a really real way. There's
- 17:06Speaker 1: a sense of like there he feels like a real
- 17:11Speaker 1: person and not like, oh, there was so much uh
- 17:17Speaker 1: what's the word I want? I don't feel like we
- 17:20Speaker 1: have got a squandered potential here. It feels almost more
- 17:27Speaker 1: like a conscious choice of like, yeah, I'm gonna make
- 17:29Speaker 1: this guy look really cool, and then he is not
- 17:32Speaker 1: going to be cool. He is actually going to be
- 17:36Speaker 1: a bit of a drag and you're going to be
- 17:40Speaker 1: like ah man. And I find this actually like as
- 17:44Speaker 1: it continues to be kind of funny because he's just
- 17:49Speaker 1: so there's something about him that is he is just
- 17:55Speaker 1: an unimaginative person, and so he's got this like wild
- 18:00Speaker 1: power that should really allow him to do a lot,
- 18:04Speaker 1: and instead it's just him making different things into bombs
- 18:09Speaker 1: all over the place and then like announcing to everybody
- 18:13Speaker 1: that's what he's doing, and announcing what he himself can
- 18:16Speaker 1: do in this very pompous sort of posturing way that
- 18:22Speaker 1: keeps being like, dude, there's like you could have maybe
- 18:29Speaker 1: pulled this off if you had just done the thing,
- 18:32Speaker 1: but you felt the need to impress everybody by explaining
- 18:37Speaker 1: how cool it is what you just did, and there
- 18:41Speaker 1: was no need for any of that. So I am
- 18:44Speaker 1: sort of like coming back around in a way where
- 18:48Speaker 1: initially I saw his design, then he wasn't as exciting
- 18:51Speaker 1: as I was hoping. And now I'm sort of turning
- 18:54Speaker 1: the corner where it's going full circle, and I'm sort
- 18:56Speaker 1: of liking him again because he is just so there.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Him being disappointing is funny now, you know. So, yeah,
- 19:09Speaker 1: I'll take my revenge on both of you at once.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Even if you try to fly away, you can't escape
- 19:14Speaker 1: the blast radius of the entire wall. Bartolomeo just yells
- 19:20Speaker 1: for him to cut that out, and he is thinking
- 19:22Speaker 1: over what is it that he is going to do.
- 19:25Speaker 1: He decides to come running at them, and Gladius does
- 19:30Speaker 1: this attack of like shooting the hairs out of his
- 19:35Speaker 1: head the center of his forehead at Bartolomeo. It's like
- 19:40Speaker 1: a single spike of because you know, his hair is
- 19:45Speaker 1: all distinct, separate spikes. It all comes apart and shoots
- 19:50Speaker 1: and it hits Bartolomeo in the leg, but it's really
- 19:52Speaker 1: not a big injury. And at first he's like, you
- 19:57Speaker 1: think that's gonna stop me? Are you serious? And then
- 20:00Speaker 1: and he starts going numb and he falls down and
- 20:02Speaker 1: he's like, what what did you do? And Gladias says
- 20:08Speaker 1: that each of those hairs had had like a poison
- 20:11Speaker 1: on it that will Is this the power of the
- 20:15Speaker 1: pop pop fruit? I forgot that, He says, that's the
- 20:18Speaker 1: fruit that he ate. So as he is floating, I
- 20:27Speaker 1: guess is the best word, he begins to expand and
- 20:31Speaker 1: become totally spherical, and he's like, I'm gonna make this
- 20:37Speaker 1: impossible for you. Either you deal with the the cliff
- 20:45Speaker 1: side that's going to explode, in which case they will
- 20:50Speaker 1: not be able to get away from the blast radius
- 20:51Speaker 1: in time and it will kill them, or you deal
- 20:55Speaker 1: with me, who has turned myself into a bomb, in
- 20:59Speaker 1: which case, if you hurt me, all of my hair
- 21:03Speaker 1: pins that's a funny way to say that. I guess
- 21:06Speaker 1: all of my poison needles on my head will explode
- 21:08Speaker 1: towards your friends and that will hurt them just as badly.
- 21:13Speaker 1: So it's your choice which of these options you're going
- 21:17Speaker 1: to take. But either way, they're going to be hurt somehow,
- 21:23Speaker 1: and it's going to be your fault because you made
- 21:25Speaker 1: the choice that you made, which is pretty rough actually,
- 21:30Speaker 1: So this, oh my god, Seraphim says he so wants
- 21:34Speaker 1: to be a drama queen without having any actual dramatic flare.
- 21:39Speaker 1: And that's a good way to say that somebody. Yeah, Like,
- 21:44Speaker 1: that's a sad you know. The It's one thing to
- 21:48Speaker 1: want to be a drama queen and you have a
- 21:53Speaker 1: and you're like just not really very good at it.
- 21:57Speaker 1: But it's another thing to like so utterly lack the charisma.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Do you know what I'm saying? That is embarrassing? Yikes?
- 22:09Speaker 1: Well I feel bad for him now. I still very
- 22:13Speaker 1: much like him, and that's part of it. But yeah,
- 22:16Speaker 1: and he's like, yeah, so those pins, you know, they
- 22:18Speaker 1: brought you down pretty easy. What do you think they're
- 22:20Speaker 1: going to do to them? And Bartolomeo is in his
- 22:27Speaker 1: head here for a moment, just really like shit, what
- 22:30Speaker 1: am I going to do? I have to figure something out.
- 22:34Speaker 1: And then he's like, I've got it. He makes a
- 22:39Speaker 1: barrier ball around himself and Gladius and says, you can
- 22:45Speaker 1: blow up all you like Fatso nothing's getting past that barrier.
- 22:50Speaker 1: It's just you and me. It's time to finish you off.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Gladias literally yells you fool, Barta Lemeo stabs him and
- 23:03Speaker 1: as we see later, he misses, Honestly, I actually really
- 23:11Speaker 1: liked that as like the plot beat, because I could
- 23:16Speaker 1: easily see how you would think you were getting the
- 23:20Speaker 1: right spot. But when he's like expanded this much, it
- 23:23Speaker 1: would probably be pretty hard to tell. And just the
- 23:28Speaker 1: idea that this guy isn't going to be taken out
- 23:31Speaker 1: so easily, all of this is this, this is all fair.
- 23:38Speaker 1: In other words, like, I really loved the reveal that
- 23:42Speaker 1: this guy hasn't been taken down for reels because him
- 23:47Speaker 1: wanting to sacrifice himself is definitely admirable, and I didn't
- 23:53Speaker 1: want that to not count for anything. But I also
- 23:58Speaker 1: felt like it can't be that easy, you know. So
- 24:08Speaker 1: this this like he when he is conscious, still says
- 24:12Speaker 1: something about how I will still be able to make
- 24:15Speaker 1: this thing blow up because I am awake and you're
- 24:20Speaker 1: trapped in this bubble, so you can just sit there
- 24:23Speaker 1: and watch your friends explode sucks to suck. Meanwhile, up there,
- 24:29Speaker 1: Robin and Cavendish are having their little conversation, and he says,
- 24:35Speaker 1: I brought Hakuba in control, but I've allowed him to
- 24:38Speaker 1: borrow half of my body. Now let go of me
- 24:41Speaker 1: so that I can kill you, he says, And I'm
- 24:45Speaker 1: just like Hakuba. That's not it, that's you're not doing this.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Hakuba is funny when he's sharing Cavendish's face. He does
- 24:54Speaker 1: he still has teeth and he still has like an
- 24:57Speaker 1: iris to his eyes, but it's just blue instead of
- 25:03Speaker 1: the orange that Cavendish has, and his teeth look pretty
- 25:07Speaker 1: much the same. There's nothing different. So yeah, but she
- 25:11Speaker 1: says she like Robin takes a moment because she's just
- 25:14Speaker 1: sort of like, I don't know if this is such
- 25:15Speaker 1: a good idea, and he is like, we do not
- 25:18Speaker 1: have time for you to think about this, so you
- 25:20Speaker 1: better fucking do what you're gonna do, and uh, Gladius
- 25:26Speaker 1: is starting to go ahead and like initiate his attack,
- 25:33Speaker 1: which I think he calls super Arena, and it explodes
- 25:38Speaker 1: and Bartolomeo is just yelling like, oh my god, miss Robin,
- 25:42Speaker 1: I failed her. When then we finally see Cavendish slash
- 25:49Speaker 1: Hakuba flying through the air with Robin, and Cavendish is
- 25:54Speaker 1: holding on to the sword by the blade because apparently
- 25:58Speaker 1: Hakubo was trying to hurt Robin and Cavendish is not
- 26:02Speaker 1: going to let that happen, and he says, if I
- 26:06Speaker 1: am willing to go this far, maybe you should listen
- 26:09Speaker 1: to me, and then as he says this, he just
- 26:12Speaker 1: passes out. It's not even like Hakoba takes over. He
- 26:15Speaker 1: just completely like drops and goes unconscious. And Robin has
- 26:20Speaker 1: to make a net out of her arms to catch
- 26:22Speaker 1: the both of them. So she's just like, huh, well,
- 26:28Speaker 1: I know that one part of you tried to kill me,
- 26:30Speaker 1: but you also saved my life just now, so I
- 26:33Speaker 1: guess you're pretty complicated. On the ground, Gladyas and Bartolomeo
- 26:41Speaker 1: are able to see that the two of them managed
- 26:44Speaker 1: to get away, and this is when he's just sort
- 26:47Speaker 1: of like, why did I even think she was going
- 26:49Speaker 1: to need me? Of course she's amazing, I don't you know.
- 26:53Speaker 1: And then we have another like group of flashbacks of
- 26:59Speaker 1: all of the dope ass moments in Lufy's life and
- 27:04Speaker 1: his cool attacks and everything that Bartolomeo has witnessed and
- 27:10Speaker 1: been inspired by, and he says, I should be ashamed
- 27:15Speaker 1: of myself thinking I was good enough to stand beside
- 27:18Speaker 1: his loofiness homage holy fist, and he makes two fists
- 27:27Speaker 1: that are each wrapped in a barrier or no, not two,
- 27:31Speaker 1: it's just one, and he says something about how like Loofy,
- 27:36Speaker 1: I promise you that I am going to get stronger.
- 27:39Speaker 1: And he sails through the air and comes it Gladyus
- 27:44Speaker 1: and he says, when I'm strong enough, maybe someday I'll
- 27:47Speaker 1: be a man who's worthy of helping you. And he
- 27:50Speaker 1: has tears pouring down his face, and as he's in
- 27:53Speaker 1: the air, there's like a transposing of Loofy over him,
- 27:58Speaker 1: like he's possessed with the spirit of Loofy. And he
- 28:02Speaker 1: punches Gladius into the ground and we have that moment
- 28:05Speaker 1: of seeing Louvie again with his like rubber body, and
- 28:10Speaker 1: then Gladias is down and Bartolomeo is just standing over him,
- 28:15Speaker 1: and it's a very great moment. It just made me
- 28:19Speaker 1: very happy because Bartolomeo, he's fucking trying, man, you know,
- 28:23Speaker 1: he really is. He says, I'm never teaming up with
- 28:27Speaker 1: Cabbage again. That dude's annoying as hell, which honestly, I've
- 28:32Speaker 1: got to agree with him. Man's too unreliable. We can't
- 28:36Speaker 1: have that. That's just yeah. Nah. I appreciate that he
- 28:42Speaker 1: doesn't mean for things to go the way that they go,
- 28:45Speaker 1: but also it's too dangerous to have somebody that will
- 28:52Speaker 1: turn on you without being able to like they not
- 28:57Speaker 1: being able to control themselves, not necessarily even able to
- 29:00Speaker 1: like jump in like I don't know. The things that
- 29:05Speaker 1: I keep running into is that it's hard for me
- 29:09Speaker 1: to tell if Cavendish is able to take possession of
- 29:18Speaker 1: himself more reliably these days than he used to be
- 29:23Speaker 1: able to. Like what I mean is is his self
- 29:29Speaker 1: control improving at all? Is this the fact that he
- 29:34Speaker 1: was able to stop his alter ego here evidence that
- 29:38Speaker 1: he is becoming stronger in opposition to it? Or is
- 29:43Speaker 1: it just that he is like that this is sort
- 29:47Speaker 1: of a one off that sometimes he's able to certain
- 29:53Speaker 1: command again, but it's like kind of inconsistent when that's possible.
- 29:58Speaker 1: I don't know. So we go back up to the
- 30:05Speaker 1: flower Field because that is where Robin and Cavendish escaped to.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Cavendish is asleep, Robin like leaves him behind, and she
- 30:15Speaker 1: goes and deals with the moment where uh Diamante is
- 30:22Speaker 1: attacking Rebecca and you guys, I'm just gonna say this
- 30:30Speaker 1: one more time and then I'm gonna pretty much drop
- 30:35Speaker 1: it just because I I don't feel like there is
- 30:40Speaker 1: a point this whole thing with him being able to
- 30:48Speaker 1: make the ground wavery and unstable is talked about as
- 30:55Speaker 1: if it's this big fucking deal, and then it has
- 31:01Speaker 1: almost no effect whatsoever, to the point that it's like,
- 31:07Speaker 1: why why are we even animating it to look like this?
- 31:13Speaker 1: Rebecca appears to be standing perfectly still. Her father, who
- 31:18Speaker 1: we were led to believe was going to have a
- 31:20Speaker 1: difficult time standing because he only has one leg, not so,
- 31:25Speaker 1: he seems to have no trouble whatsoever. Like it's having
- 31:32Speaker 1: no effect that I can see. The whole everything about
- 31:40Speaker 1: these two after he gets turned back into a human
- 31:45Speaker 1: is utter horseship. This is the only part of the
- 31:50Speaker 1: arc that I feel is a complete and unmitigated fail
- 31:54Speaker 1: on every level. Like I just can't believe how poorly
- 31:59Speaker 1: done it is. The everything that seems like it should
- 32:03Speaker 1: be a problem, it's just not all of a sudden,
- 32:07Speaker 1: he gets his leg cut off, Well, he's fine, he
- 32:11Speaker 1: gets still run. Basically, now we made the ground wavy
- 32:14Speaker 1: and he only has one leg. Oh is he gonna Nope? Nope?
- 32:18Speaker 1: Also fine, still fine. It's nothing like the way that
- 32:23Speaker 1: I have no tension about what's going on with them.
- 32:27Speaker 1: I cannot overstate. And Robin jumping in to stop and
- 32:32Speaker 1: catch the blade and save Rebecca is hilarious to me
- 32:39Speaker 1: because considering how little threat it already feels like there
- 32:44Speaker 1: is for her to have to step in here is embarrassing.
- 32:51Speaker 1: It just feels like everything that you are trying to
- 32:54Speaker 1: tell me is a problem. I'm not seeing it being
- 32:57Speaker 1: a real problem. So now you're acting like, oh, Robin
- 33:00Speaker 1: is stepping in, because otherwise they wouldn't have made it,
- 33:04Speaker 1: wouldn't they Rebecca's not even like wobbling. Have her like
- 33:10Speaker 1: falling down, have her unable to hold her footing, Have
- 33:14Speaker 1: it feel like he's tipping the ground to tip her
- 33:18Speaker 1: toward the blade, have this be dynamic in some way,
- 33:24Speaker 1: but it's just like we're having all of this dramatic
- 33:27Speaker 1: animation of the ground, and then when the camera is
- 33:31Speaker 1: on her or her father, they're not moving in any
- 33:34Speaker 1: way that makes it seem like they are unsteady. So
- 33:40Speaker 1: Robin stepping in to save them it's an It's like
- 33:43Speaker 1: almost an insult to me, you know. It just feels
- 33:48Speaker 1: like all of this is so half ass that I
- 33:55Speaker 1: just wish she wouldn't bother at all and waste my
- 33:58Speaker 1: time with it. There's a bunch of other fights going
- 34:01Speaker 1: on that are way more interesting with characters that I have,
- 34:05Speaker 1: honestly maybe not like grown to care about as people
- 34:08Speaker 1: too much, but I'm invested in learning about their fights.
- 34:11Speaker 1: At least I would rather watch that these two. I
- 34:17Speaker 1: kind of feel like when I step back and look
- 34:23Speaker 1: at a lot of the plots with this show, when
- 34:29Speaker 1: there is a like a princess kind of character and
- 34:34Speaker 1: king character, they can tend to be pretty flat. It's
- 34:40Speaker 1: not always, you know, like I really liked the King
- 34:44Speaker 1: of Fishman Island, for example. He had a really distinct
- 34:47Speaker 1: vibe to him that I enjoyed. And the princess there,
- 34:52Speaker 1: she was sort of whatever, but she was at least
- 34:54Speaker 1: a little bit more interesting and had her own whole
- 34:56Speaker 1: thing going on. But this just seems like I am
- 35:03Speaker 1: really supposed to see this as something, and I have
- 35:07Speaker 1: to assume I'm not alone and that a lot of
- 35:09Speaker 1: people feel this too. All despite the fact that apparently
- 35:14Speaker 1: everybody likes this middle name d thing more than I do,
- 35:19Speaker 1: I am going to trust that the taste doesn't stretch
- 35:21Speaker 1: that far. Florence says, yep, one there with you. We
- 35:26Speaker 1: could do without these two. At this point, Seraphim says,
- 35:29Speaker 1: but that takes actual animation budget. This is anime dress
- 35:32Speaker 1: Rosa waste as much time as possible was their guiding
- 35:35Speaker 1: principle for most of this arc. Shira Ho she being
- 35:38Speaker 1: how she is also makes a lot of sense, given
- 35:40Speaker 1: she spent most of her life locked up in her
- 35:42Speaker 1: room with barely any contact with anyone Else's a that's
- 35:45Speaker 1: a good point too. Seraphim is like Shira Ho, she
- 35:48Speaker 1: being real, like innocent and sheltered and everything. It is
- 35:52Speaker 1: a character consistency, But Rebecca is still the way that
- 35:58Speaker 1: she felt when she was a child, and she has
- 36:02Speaker 1: lived being despised and hated and forced to fight against
- 36:07Speaker 1: her will, which should have fundamentally changed who she is
- 36:11Speaker 1: as a person, and it doesn't feel like it has
- 36:14Speaker 1: had the slightest effect at all, which is weird, like frankly,
- 36:19Speaker 1: and maybe if there were a way of us seeing
- 36:23Speaker 1: why she was able to hold onto this like kindness
- 36:27Speaker 1: and goodness, maybe this would matter more and make more sense.
- 36:32Speaker 1: But it just feels like she's supposed to be the untouchable,
- 36:43Speaker 1: ingenous and in combination with her fucking costume, it's very
- 36:50Speaker 1: difficult for me to like not I roll the whole
- 36:54Speaker 1: it's giving like that Madonna horror complex thing, and she
- 36:58Speaker 1: is definitely like the Madonna version, you know, she is
- 37:02Speaker 1: the virginal, untouched, unsullied perfection who doesn't let herself kill
- 37:11Speaker 1: people and has never been pushed to be like Angry
- 37:15Speaker 1: in a way that feels like it affected her or
- 37:18Speaker 1: to bitterness or any of that. Saraphim says, as for
- 37:24Speaker 1: this plot line, I don't really see much hate for it,
- 37:27Speaker 1: but it's also not really something that gets brought up
- 37:29Speaker 1: as one of the highlights of the arc either. It's
- 37:30Speaker 1: just kind of there. This is the thing. Is like
- 37:34Speaker 1: the hate that I feel for it, I feel just
- 37:37Speaker 1: because I am covering it this way. But I think
- 37:40Speaker 1: were I to talk about this arc in a casual way,
- 37:46Speaker 1: it wouldn't come up because it's so it's so forgettable
- 37:50Speaker 1: and there is such a lack of tension that it
- 37:53Speaker 1: doesn't stick with you at all. So I could see
- 37:56Speaker 1: how it just gets sort of forgotten. And it's kind
- 38:01Speaker 1: of weird how forgotten it is. Considering the one legged
- 38:06Speaker 1: toy soldier is sort of instrumental in the way that
- 38:10Speaker 1: things first start to go awry in dress Rosa. He
- 38:15Speaker 1: should matter so much more when he becomes a person
- 38:18Speaker 1: and instead it's like, as soon as he becomes human,
- 38:20Speaker 1: it's all over and nobody gives a shit anymore. So anyway,
- 38:26Speaker 1: then let's go into episode seven fourteen, So we start
- 38:34Speaker 1: off again with Robin having just saved Rebecca, and basically
- 38:40Speaker 1: she says to Kiros, Hey, man, I've got your daughter here,
- 38:46Speaker 1: don't worry about her. You do what you need to do,
- 38:50Speaker 1: because I realize that you have been holding back from
- 38:54Speaker 1: attacking the way that you want to due to the
- 38:57Speaker 1: fact that you're concerned for her safety. So now unleash
- 39:03Speaker 1: and you can go all out and it'll be fine.
- 39:07Speaker 1: And Kiros is very excited about this, and he says,
- 39:13Speaker 1: long have I waited for revenge? And when he says this,
- 39:20Speaker 1: the camera jumps up to Diamante's face and there's a
- 39:24Speaker 1: moment where his face just sort of twitches in response,
- 39:29Speaker 1: like oh shit. And I couldn't help but laugh because
- 39:35Speaker 1: it's just so forced. Everything about the way anybody is
- 39:40Speaker 1: reacting in this arc, when the tension is this poorly drawn,
- 39:44Speaker 1: just feels like it's kind of coming out of nowhere.
- 39:47Speaker 1: And so his stopping and being like, oh, now I'm
- 39:50Speaker 1: suddenly afraid of Kiros because of the way he just said,
- 39:53Speaker 1: I've been waiting for revenge. Honestly, that shouldn't even have
- 39:57Speaker 1: like stopped you for moment. I like the fact that
- 40:02Speaker 1: Rebecca can't be used against him anymore. Sure, that's a
- 40:07Speaker 1: bit of a blow for you, but it shouldn't make
- 40:09Speaker 1: it so that now Kiros goes from no threat at
- 40:13Speaker 1: all to totally frightening. And it's just it's just, you know,
- 40:20Speaker 1: what can you do? So anyway, this moment where it's
- 40:31Speaker 1: so weird, you guys, Barcelo Mayo runs into a pair
- 40:38Speaker 1: of don Quixote pirates, who I want to point out
- 40:41Speaker 1: are numbered in the seven hundreds. This one's okay. Maybe
- 40:47Speaker 1: it's just because of the episode number. Yeah, because this
- 40:50Speaker 1: is episode seven fourteen and this pirate is labeled seven
- 40:53Speaker 1: fourteen A and seven fourteen B. We're just respectfully moving
- 40:59Speaker 1: the Please don't take it the wrong way. And he says, okay,
- 41:05Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure that one's still alive though, And he's
- 41:07Speaker 1: looking at uh, what's his face, exploding man, And he says,
- 41:13Speaker 1: but he's knocked out cold. At least let us tend
- 41:16Speaker 1: to his wounds pretty please, can't you show us pity?
- 41:21Speaker 1: We appeal to your honor, and they're literally like climbing
- 41:26Speaker 1: all over him and sobbing. It's a weird, weird moment, right,
- 41:32Speaker 1: and I didn't know what to make this, And they
- 41:35Speaker 1: as soon as he says, like, get the fuck out
- 41:37Speaker 1: of here, they take off at warp speed, carrying this
- 41:42Speaker 1: dude on a stretcher. And we find out that the
- 41:47Speaker 1: little Fairy Princess has healing powers and she is going
- 41:54Speaker 1: to restore a bunch of the executives that have been
- 42:01Speaker 1: knocked out so that they are going to be able
- 42:04Speaker 1: to just get up and fight again. I was so mad, like,
- 42:13Speaker 1: I don't necessarily think that things are going to work
- 42:17Speaker 1: out that way. I hope they aren't if they all
- 42:23Speaker 1: get revived. You guys, I'm gonna quit the show, so
- 42:27Speaker 1: just know that I can't. I can't, but I am
- 42:33Speaker 1: going to try and trust that is not what's happening.
- 42:38Speaker 1: And like just the whole idea that this was a possibility,
- 42:43Speaker 1: I was just like, well that's just not fair. How
- 42:47Speaker 1: dare you? The whole thing just felt so very like
- 42:52Speaker 1: Rude and the Fairy Queen. There's like a moment where, uh,
- 43:01Speaker 1: what is her name? You guys just told me. Jola
- 43:06Speaker 1: is holding her and she says something about like now
- 43:08Speaker 1: get out your watering can, and I was like what.
- 43:13Speaker 1: And she's fucking with this princess and like torturing her
- 43:20Speaker 1: to try and force her to do whatever it is
- 43:24Speaker 1: that her power does, and is twisting her and pushing
- 43:27Speaker 1: her in such a way that it's obviously really hurting her,
- 43:33Speaker 1: and the tears start to come to her eyes, and
- 43:41Speaker 1: they're holding her over just like a regular sort of peon.
- 43:45Speaker 1: He isn't one of the executives. He's just like a
- 43:47Speaker 1: soldier that went down apparently, And so when her tear
- 43:52Speaker 1: wells up and falls, it falls on this dude who
- 43:56Speaker 1: is suddenly restored. And I was sort of hoping, like
- 43:58Speaker 1: because it seems at first I was thinking, is Joly
- 44:02Speaker 1: doing this on purpose? Does she know that this is
- 44:03Speaker 1: how it works? And then she seemed to like be
- 44:07Speaker 1: surprised that this guy was up and okay, and I
- 44:11Speaker 1: was like, oh, I thought maybe this was the point.
- 44:16Speaker 1: And for a second, I was really pleased because I
- 44:21Speaker 1: was like, oh, maybe she won't put two and two
- 44:23Speaker 1: together what just happened. But unfortunately there's a bunch of
- 44:27Speaker 1: other fucking soldiers standing there who are all just like, oh,
- 44:30Speaker 1: that's uh, her tears did it. So it turns out
- 44:34Speaker 1: that you don't need to use this like watering can thing.
- 44:39Speaker 1: And I can't imagine like a worse thing for your
- 44:46Speaker 1: enemies to find out than causing pain and making you
- 44:54Speaker 1: cry heals their people like guys doesn't. Right, It feels
- 45:03Speaker 1: like the worst possible scenario is them finding out that
- 45:09Speaker 1: making you weep help actively helps the injured people of theirs.
- 45:17Speaker 1: I feel so bad for this princess character right here.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Now she gets saved, so it winds up okay, But
- 45:25Speaker 1: like I had a real moment of feeling like this
- 45:29Speaker 1: is a literal nightmare scenario. It doesn't get worse than that.
- 45:36Speaker 1: And this princess, by the way, it's sort of weird
- 45:39Speaker 1: because she is uh. When the fairies are talking about
- 45:48Speaker 1: her to each other, at one point, they say something
- 45:52Speaker 1: like how shitty a person she is in so many words.
- 45:58Speaker 1: They are very straightforward about the fact that she's selfish,
- 46:04Speaker 1: and but you know, she's their princess, so they got
- 46:08Speaker 1: to do what they got to do and save her.
- 46:14Speaker 1: I can't tell if I just haven't gotten to see
- 46:17Speaker 1: that side of her yet. And it's going to come out,
- 46:21Speaker 1: or if we are going to find out that, like
- 46:25Speaker 1: her time in captivity caused her to have a bit
- 46:29Speaker 1: of a change of heart. But overall, I just really
- 46:35Speaker 1: was pleasantly surprised at how cute she was. And there's
- 46:40Speaker 1: a point where she's like arguing with them about something,
- 46:46Speaker 1: and all of her enemies are even like, oh my god,
- 46:50Speaker 1: but she's so cute, and they like clutch their hands
- 46:53Speaker 1: together and get their little starry eyes, you know, that moment,
- 46:57Speaker 1: And I was sort of like, is that it is that?
- 47:00Speaker 1: What's happening? Like, I can't tell if I'm just falling
- 47:08Speaker 1: for the fact that she is adorable and she isn't
- 47:13Speaker 1: actually that good a person. We just haven't seen her
- 47:16Speaker 1: except for her getting tortured, and so that immediately has
- 47:20Speaker 1: me going, oh, well, I'm on her side obviously, you know,
- 47:24Speaker 1: so anyway I am. That's fair. Saraphim says. The only
- 47:30Speaker 1: one who actually talks like that about her is Leo,
- 47:33Speaker 1: who seems to have a rather complicated relationship with her.
- 47:36Speaker 1: I didn't remember that it was only him that said that,
- 47:42Speaker 1: So yeah, that changes things, because he's definitely like there's
- 47:45Speaker 1: a feeling that they are in love with each other,
- 47:49Speaker 1: but in that love hate kind of way that like
- 47:51Speaker 1: a lot of romance novels are built on, where the
- 47:55Speaker 1: thing that draws them together is how much they irritate
- 47:58Speaker 1: each other, which is valid. I don't even really have
- 48:01Speaker 1: a problem with that. It is sort of like baffling
- 48:04Speaker 1: to me because as much as my husband and I
- 48:07Speaker 1: irritate each other, it's never like in the specific type
- 48:11Speaker 1: of like insulting way that they do. But anyway, okay,
- 48:16Speaker 1: here it is where she says, could you please let
- 48:18Speaker 1: me go? I can't help you any longer, and guys,
- 48:21Speaker 1: she is looking up at them. This is when fucking
- 48:26Speaker 1: Julis says, you shut your mouth? Who were you calling
- 48:29Speaker 1: boa handcock? And she says, I never said that. You
- 48:32Speaker 1: misheard me. Oh my god. But she has this really
- 48:38Speaker 1: long blonde hair, and I think she also has a
- 48:47Speaker 1: tail of the same hair color that looks like it's
- 48:51Speaker 1: sort of blending in. Like what it looks like, honestly,
- 48:56Speaker 1: is what if you took a poly pocket and mixed
- 49:01Speaker 1: her with an evy pokemon, Because Evi's I think they
- 49:09Speaker 1: have three tails, right if I'm not mistaken, or maybe
- 49:11Speaker 1: they have more when they're fully evolved. But it looks
- 49:15Speaker 1: like she's got more than one tail and her really
- 49:19Speaker 1: big hair, so she's just basically standing in a triangle
- 49:26Speaker 1: of hair all the way down to the floor, which
- 49:30Speaker 1: is a really really cool design. I think she only
- 49:34Speaker 1: has the one tail. The way it sticks out in
- 49:36Speaker 1: the back, there's like this scalloping around it, so I
- 49:40Speaker 1: think that's supposed to be the hem of the dress
- 49:42Speaker 1: that she's wearing. So I think the rest of it
- 49:45Speaker 1: is her head hair. But her tail is as big
- 49:49Speaker 1: as her whole body. It's like a big puff behind
- 49:52Speaker 1: her that comes up almost to her shoulders. Ooh, SARAHM says,
- 49:57Speaker 1: Vulpex is the one with multiple tails, Thank you Fulpics.
- 50:00Speaker 1: That's the what I was thinking of. But yeah, she's
- 50:04Speaker 1: just really really cool looking. Like honestly, this makes me
- 50:10Speaker 1: want there to be some sort of weird mashup between
- 50:17Speaker 1: Pokemon and like David the Gnome or something. You know,
- 50:21Speaker 1: I would be kind of into that. So this, this
- 50:27Speaker 1: whole thing with the discovery that her tears are what
- 50:30Speaker 1: do it? All of this is being observed by Violet.
- 50:38Speaker 1: She has her power where she can see what's happening,
- 50:43Speaker 1: and she is informing everybody that, like if they get
- 50:47Speaker 1: this chick to do what they're trying, this entire crew
- 50:54Speaker 1: is going to be like up and back at it
- 50:56Speaker 1: and ready to go hard, and everybody is like, fuck,
- 51:00Speaker 1: that sucks. So they really start to like prioritize saving her,
- 51:09Speaker 1: and we see oos Up for the first time in
- 51:13Speaker 1: absolute ages. There's a bunch of other people too that
- 51:16Speaker 1: we are checking back in with, but I don't really
- 51:18Speaker 1: care about most of them. It's it's just oos Up
- 51:23Speaker 1: that It's interesting how like poorly used he is in
- 51:30Speaker 1: this arc. I think every arc it seems like there's
- 51:36Speaker 1: one character that kind of gets screwed a little bit,
- 51:42Speaker 1: and not like it more just like there's one character
- 51:47Speaker 1: that kind of gets left out, and he, particularly in
- 51:53Speaker 1: this is like painted poorly by making. And you guys
- 51:57Speaker 1: have told me already that, like we have had to
- 51:59Speaker 1: draw things out, So the particular kind of cowardice that
- 52:04Speaker 1: he was showing isn't really the way it was depicted
- 52:07Speaker 1: in the manga. It's just that they had to like
- 52:10Speaker 1: stall for time, and so we spend way more time
- 52:14Speaker 1: watching him be a coward. And I totally believe you
- 52:18Speaker 1: and understand what you mean here, but it's just like
- 52:22Speaker 1: in combination with him basically seeming to do almost nothing
- 52:27Speaker 1: else a lot of the time. It's a really bad
- 52:31Speaker 1: combo of him being boring and cowardly, and I'm used
- 52:41Speaker 1: to him being pretty involved with a lot of the arcs,
- 52:44Speaker 1: and usually it will be Chopper who get sidelined, and like,
- 52:50Speaker 1: I'm not counting the fact that those characters jumped into
- 52:54Speaker 1: a boat and have gone somewhere else as being sidelined.
- 52:57Speaker 1: Even though technically it is the same thing, it feels
- 53:01Speaker 1: different because I know they're on an entirely separate mission
- 53:05Speaker 1: versus being put into a holding pattern, which is what
- 53:11Speaker 1: it feels like with him, where we're trying to pretend
- 53:13Speaker 1: that he's still like a part of things, but he's
- 53:16Speaker 1: really not. Like he is still technically andres Rosa, and
- 53:19Speaker 1: he is still technically talking with other movers and shakers
- 53:23Speaker 1: who are doing things, but in this scene, he doesn't
- 53:28Speaker 1: add anything. He isn't actually helping, he isn't bringing anything
- 53:32Speaker 1: to the table. It's him just being present while the
- 53:36Speaker 1: rest of them form a plan and figure out how
- 53:40Speaker 1: to rescue her. So they send I think it's Leo
- 53:48Speaker 1: and cub is the other one, and Leo shows up
- 53:53Speaker 1: with his little needle, and they tell him, oh, you're
- 53:59Speaker 1: too late, We've got this all sewn up, lol. And
- 54:04Speaker 1: Gula has the princess in her hand and is squeezing
- 54:09Speaker 1: her and just shaking her over all of these people
- 54:14Speaker 1: unconscious on the ground and sending droplets of tears all
- 54:21Speaker 1: over the place. And I do like the animation of
- 54:24Speaker 1: the tears has like little sparkles in between them to
- 54:29Speaker 1: really indicate that they're magical. It makes it look a
- 54:31Speaker 1: little bit like fairy dust. So it's one of those
- 54:34Speaker 1: like really tightly timed moments where the the what do
- 54:41Speaker 1: you call thems The tear drops are in mid air
- 54:45Speaker 1: as the action is taking place, and you're watching them
- 54:49Speaker 1: begin to fall towards the ground as everybody like snaps
- 54:55Speaker 1: into motion and does the thing within the amount of
- 54:59Speaker 1: time that it takes for the lets to even hit
- 55:01Speaker 1: the ground. So what I thought we were going to
- 55:04Speaker 1: do was we were going to somehow stop the droplets
- 55:10Speaker 1: from falling. We would jump underneath them, or you know,
- 55:13Speaker 1: which is a very foolish way to handle this, or
- 55:17Speaker 1: maybe like put an object between them, like make a
- 55:20Speaker 1: little roof or something. Instead, we've got cub and he
- 55:26Speaker 1: swoops in and he does what he calls a beetle uppercut,
- 55:29Speaker 1: which basically like knocks everybody out of the way. And
- 55:35Speaker 1: then Leo jumps in with his needle and sews everybody
- 55:39Speaker 1: together into like a not around Jola and makes like
- 55:47Speaker 1: a you know, like a rat king. It's like they
- 55:51Speaker 1: make an executive king where they just got everybody like
- 55:55Speaker 1: tangled up together here and he so he's got them
- 55:59Speaker 1: all like sewn to her and yanks them in around her.
- 56:05Speaker 1: It's a weird thing to see him use a power
- 56:08Speaker 1: that's so similar to do flamingos. Honestly, the whole thing
- 56:12Speaker 1: with him having thread like and using strings to control people,
- 56:17Speaker 1: it's really really similar. And then he does he says,
- 56:24Speaker 1: hate couture patchwork go very very weird, and all of
- 56:32Speaker 1: them slamming into Jola causes her to fall backward, unconscious,
- 56:39Speaker 1: and she lets go of the princess, who falls delicately,
- 56:44Speaker 1: thinking to herself, he's here. Leo really came to rescue me.
- 56:50Speaker 1: He's just like a real prince. And as he catches her,
- 56:57Speaker 1: he does a weird thing that I was sort of like,
- 56:59Speaker 1: what is that? And she says to him, I was
- 57:05Speaker 1: so scared clearly expecting words of comfort or something, and
- 57:12Speaker 1: he just says, did you gain weight? I love that.
- 57:23Speaker 1: It cuts over to Cub who just cres his arms
- 57:28Speaker 1: crossed and says, classic Leo this. It was actually a
- 57:33Speaker 1: pretty fun line, Like you know, the anytime that like
- 57:37Speaker 1: a joke is about somebody being fat or whatever, I
- 57:40Speaker 1: do roll my eyes. But it was more like the
- 57:45Speaker 1: incongruity of what he was saying versus the actual insult itself.
- 57:49Speaker 1: That was very funny. Here, Saraphim says, and we all
- 57:54Speaker 1: take a moment to praise Leo as the MVP of
- 57:57Speaker 1: the art for preventing us from having to do another
- 57:58Speaker 1: fifty episodes out the executives again. Yeah, and like, I'm
- 58:02Speaker 1: gonna be honest you guys, when I said, like, if
- 58:04Speaker 1: this happens, I'm gonna quit the show. I still have
- 58:07Speaker 1: my eye on this because like the Princess is still
- 58:10Speaker 1: around and it's still possible for us to do something.
- 58:13Speaker 1: So I really hope that we aren't going to, but
- 58:17Speaker 1: I maintain my right to quit. I will. I'll give
- 58:25Speaker 1: you guys two weeks notice. And that's about it. So
- 58:32Speaker 1: then we jump on over to uh, what does this say?
- 58:38Speaker 1: It says, one F, What does it say? One F?
- 58:44Speaker 1: I don't even know if that what that means? Is
- 58:46Speaker 1: that like the level that we're on, because we're at
- 58:49Speaker 1: the palace and it's Loofy's I don't even want to
- 58:52Speaker 1: say fighting Bellamy because that's not what's going on. I
- 58:57Speaker 1: guess that's the level. But Lufy is just letting Bartolomeo
- 59:03Speaker 1: hit him and not Bartolomeo, sorry Bellamy, and Bellamy is
- 59:10Speaker 1: getting really mad at him. Lufy is trying to say
- 59:14Speaker 1: to him, if you keep on doing this in the
- 59:17Speaker 1: shape you're in, you're gonna die. And Bellamy is like,
- 59:22Speaker 1: I don't get it. Why are you just standing there?
- 59:24Speaker 1: You've got to fight back, don't you dare look down
- 59:28Speaker 1: on me? Do you know what this feeling is? Do
- 59:30Speaker 1: you have any clue what it's like to have your
- 59:32Speaker 1: world crumble under you? And he says, even if I die,
- 59:39Speaker 1: I can take you down with me and maybe then
- 59:45Speaker 1: do Flamingo will think on me fondly when I'm gone.
- 59:54Speaker 1: I have said, and I stand by it, that I
- 59:59Speaker 1: like this choice in storytelling, that Bellamy would do this
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: because it feels like a real thing that some people
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: might do. But it is so agonizing to watch this
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: man tell himself these little tales about how maybe if
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: I do this then Dophie will love me. Oh my god,
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: you guys, there is there's something else that I covered
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: where a girl is in love with this guy and
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: she is pretty sure he's cheating on her, and so
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: in order to get his attention back, she decides to
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: put herself in mortal peril and get quite hurt, because
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: then when he comes to the hospital and sees her,
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: then he's gonna feel real bad about it. Then he's
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: gonna regret it. And she accidentally kills herself. She had
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: thought she was just going to wind up in the hospital,
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: and she stepped into traffic and she dies. And this
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: is what it is, what that's giving, except like the
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: intent is to die, and it's so pitiful Bellamy. It's
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: kind of funny considering how he had this turnaround in
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: Lufy's like thinking on finding the one piece and realizing
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: that I thought the thing that you were dreaming about
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: was was like not only not real, but an active
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: waste of time and a it's like a foolish pipe dream,
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: and that the lands that you were going to look
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: for and stuff. I was saying that they didn't exist.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: I thought that it was going to make him sort
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: of trust Lufy's word a little bit more overall, and
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: that he was going to have kind of a I've
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: been wrong before because you said something that I didn't
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: think was true and you turned out to be right.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: So I was sort of hoping that there would reach
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: a point here where he has a similar like you
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, And it just really is seeming
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: like that's not going to happen for him. I think, I, like,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: I may be wrong. Maybe we will turn a corner
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: and he's gonna stop and and but I wouldn't be
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: surprised if what And don't get me wrong, I don't
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: think he's gonna die, because like that's not how these
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: stories have worked. But I think that what it looks
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: like would be most likely right now is that Loofy
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: has to completely knock him unconscious to get him to stop,
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: and then later when he begins, when he comes to
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: and hears more and is like in his right mind
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: a little bit more, maybe he will rethink things or
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: maybe if he sees like how forgiving Lufy is or
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: I don't know, there's just there's there's a lot of
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: I just don't really know when somebody is this committed
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: to what they believe, when they're willing to sacrifice their
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: life for it in the heat of the moment, I
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: just don't really see anybody convincing them otherwise. So if
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: Lufy manages to do that, it's gonna have to be
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: a pretty powerful speech for me to like believe that
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: he pulled it off, and we'll just have to see.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: Sorry first, Florisa Seraphim is the thing. Oh yeah, okay, right,
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: and yeah, this is just Lufy trying to give Bella
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: me a therapy session. Like it doesn't even feel like
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: he's trying to talk him out of it really though,
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: Like it doesn't to me. A therapy session is just
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: like this guy doesn't care about you, you know that, right,
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: But Lufy's not even arguing that part, at least not yet.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: Maybe it gets more like that, but right now, it's
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: just Lufy being like, why do you want to die? Stop?
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: You're not gonna beat me, You're just gonna die. And
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: that doesn't feel like a therapy session to me. That
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: just feels like trying to stop a kid from putting
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: his hand on a burner, you know. Florian says, oh,
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: I was thinking this was Twilight. You were talking about
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: Bella would do such a thing. I think she did.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: I don't know what I was saying, Florian that you
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: thought I said that. But if it's just about Bella
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: giving up her life for something very dumb, then yes, agreed.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: So anyway, Uh, the episode ends with him just like
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: knocking Lufy to the ground one last time, and Lufy
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: looking up at him. It's a zero in on his eye,
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: just like observing him from the floor very much with
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: an expression of like all right, that's enough. So I
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: think finally Lufy is gonna put his ass down. We'll
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: have to wait and see. All right, guys, I have
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: to wrap up, but I appreciate you all very much.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Looking forward to seeing you Filorien on Thursday. Hope you
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: guys are enjoying the show, and until then, do the
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: loud motherfuckers. That was an Unspoiled Network podcast
