Fifteen Sardinian restaurants to trial screen-free family meals

Fifteen eateries in Sardinia are set to invite families to store their phones and other gadgets during meals as part of a one-month trial starting next week. The campaign, named “At the table without screens,” is spearheaded by Anna Cau, the child advocate for the Italian island. Its goal is to reduce overuse of screens among young people and promote conversation during dining times. Families taking part will turn in their devices and be given a “reunion kit” filled with games and drawing materials.
