- 0:00Hello there. It's time for most things,
- 0:03Kenobi. Hi everyone, welcome to another
- 0:19episode of Most Things Kenobi, a podcast about Obi Wan Kenobi and
- 0:22all things Star Wars. I'm your host, Lauren.
- 0:26And I'm your host, Leanne. This week we're going to
- 0:29continue our series on the Jen Ocean Arc, but before we do
- 0:34that, we have some. House.
- 0:36Not housekeeping. Is it housekeeping?
- 0:38Yeah, housekeeping. Housekeeping.
- 0:39It's. Technically housekeeping.
- 0:41It's like, what is the phrase? It just stroked out for a
- 0:44second. Don't worry about it.
- 0:46We have news we've derailed already.
- 0:52It's great. 40 seconds in. Classic.
- 0:58Yes. Anywho, we've set a date for our
- 1:03Patreon revamp and we are going to launch some new stuff
- 1:09starting on August 1st, so that is just a short while from now,
- 1:142025. In case you're listening to this
- 1:17in another year, that's in the future.
- 1:20Yeah, if we don't make it, at least we at least we have this
- 1:24dated. Oh my goodness.
- 1:29So that will be We're going to be offering some new stuff.
- 1:32The tiers are the same. We still have Padawan, Jedi
- 1:35Knight and Jedi Master tiers. The prices are the same as what
- 1:40they are. But now we're revamping what you
- 1:41get and we are going to do some fun things like games and videos
- 1:45that are just for our patrons. But then we're also going to do
- 1:49some more stuff like Hangouts where we do watch parties live,
- 1:54Q&A's, stuff like that. So we are both looking forward
- 1:58to to that. I think it's going.
- 1:59To be fun. Yeah, yeah.
- 2:01We've learned some ways that we can actually have a watch party,
- 2:04and Patreon is changing some of the stuff that they offer.
- 2:07So we'll be able to do live Q&A's right from Patreon at some
- 2:11point in the near future, but until then we'll probably do
- 2:14them on YouTube. So yeah, we have some cool stuff
- 2:17planned. So if you aren't a patron yet
- 2:20and you would like to join in the fun, head over there.
- 2:23We have the link in our show notes, you can always find it
- 2:26there. Also, we would just appreciate
- 2:28any support. Yeah, we love it.
- 2:30We love all of you that choose to support us because it's just
- 2:34takes a lot of work what we do, but we appreciate it and we hope
- 2:38that we give back in in the ways that we have done and what we're
- 2:42about to do, which is very fun. Bingo is involved.
- 2:45So it is. That's all I'm gonna say.
- 2:52Like with most things, our biggest hope is that we make you
- 2:56laugh and bring a smile to your face.
- 2:57That's all we offer, yeah. So that's the truth.
- 3:00That's it. That's all we want.
- 3:04All right, so shall we move on to our subject of the day.
- 3:09What is the subject of the day? It's the second part in the
- 3:13Genotian arc we did. Oh my gosh.
- 3:15What is it landing at Point Rain in our last episode.
- 3:19And this episode we're gonna talk about Weapons Factory,
- 3:22which has your favorite character in it.
- 3:27Yay, no I didn't mind her. I didn't mind any of the
- 3:30characters when I rewatched this.
- 3:32For what it's worth, I haven't watched this one in a very long
- 3:34time. Me too, I even when I watched
- 3:36the Genotian arc I almost always skipped this episode for some
- 3:40reason. Yeah, it's not a bad episode.
- 3:44It there's a lot that goes on and the message is kind of
- 3:47interesting, which is I think what the bulk of this episode
- 3:50will be will be us tossing around the lesson, if you will,
- 3:54the morality of it all. Yeah, And the little I had to
- 3:58actually go back because I didn't even see what the fortune
- 4:01cookie, quote, UN quote at the beginning was.
- 4:03Oh, yeah. And then I was like, oh, OK,
- 4:05yeah. Now it all makes sense because
- 4:06it's no gift is more precious than trust.
- 4:10So the whole episode focuses on that in some ways that are, to
- 4:15me, deeply irritating. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 4:26And from like many angles, but in a, in a way that it's not me
- 4:29bitching, it's like it's, it's definitely, I think it's meant
- 4:32to be that way. It's meant to be provoking.
- 4:34I I think so too, yeah. It's obviously in a 2025 minute
- 4:40episode. They've got to be a little blunt
- 4:42with it. They got to be right out with
- 4:43it. You know, the stark contrast
- 4:45between Luminara and Anakin and then Baris and Ahsoka.
- 4:50And I don't mind Barris in these early episodes.
- 4:55I think I grew to dislike her more after.
- 4:58It's kind of those hindsight things where, you know what she
- 5:01ends up doing. So you hate her.
- 5:03You know, before you know what she's, you know, you go back and
- 5:06watch it. And it's one of those things
- 5:08like I just ironically enough, the issue of trust, it comes
- 5:13back to bite a soak in the ass in the end.
- 5:15But that's not what we're talking about.
- 5:16It's not why we're here today. At the same time, they kind of
- 5:18imply that like Luminara is this very stalwart Jedi and her
- 5:24Padawan turns to the dark side, whereas Anakin is like Bree,
- 5:27loosey goosey with his apprentice.
- 5:29And she is one of the most steadfast, I would say, in the
- 5:32Force, not necessarily as a Jedi, but she has a strong
- 5:36conviction in the light. Ferrite because yeah, that's an
- 5:41interesting point. That is it actually, yeah.
- 5:44So I mean it's nature versus nurture.
- 5:47You don't know you can raise a child, you know, loosely
- 5:50speaking, you can raise a child as properly and as as well as
- 5:54you can and they can still become a bad egg, I guess.
- 5:57But it does make you question the effectiveness of the two
- 6:03Jedi, which is Luminara and Anakin, in their their training
- 6:07methods, the style in which they train.
- 6:10I I don't mind Luminara in this episode either.
- 6:14And I, I do dislike her. She's just not my style of Jedi.
- 6:19Yeah, that's all. She's 1° away from Chiari Mundes
- 6:22as a stick in the mud, but it's. Kind of given that vibe, it's
- 6:27like any teacher in any school. They're all going to vary.
- 6:31You're going to have your favorites, the one you kind of
- 6:33jive with, the one you kind of have a vibe with, the one you
- 6:36learn the most because they're interesting.
- 6:38And then there's people like Luminara who are just like by
- 6:41the book, you know, but but not like Kenobi.
- 6:44Kenobi has personality. There's a flatness.
- 6:47Obi Wan is like, he's like right in between.
- 6:49He has both the Anakin and the Luminara type like and I think
- 6:54that's why he is so effective because he's.
- 6:57Very much. He's just, you said he's got a
- 7:02personality. Well, I hate to even say that
- 7:07because some people might find Obi Wan's personality grading.
- 7:10I don't know who they are, they're not listening to this,
- 7:12that's true. But you know, Luminara might be
- 7:17very effective in teaching many other people.
- 7:20That being said, there neither 1 is in balance I find.
- 7:24Do you also find? That yes, I I do.
- 7:26I agree. I think that by the end of the
- 7:28episode you see the positives and negatives of both kinds of
- 7:33relationships. Correct.
- 7:34Yeah. And so I think it's interesting,
- 7:37I feel like the show itself didn't take a stand so much on
- 7:41what is and isn't the right way. I don't think you can.
- 7:45I mean, we like you brought up with what ends up happening.
- 7:49Luminara passes away, Anakin turns into like the most iconic
- 7:55Sith of all time in my opinion. I concur.
- 8:01Most iconic. He's a fucking icon.
- 8:05That Cape, that helmet, that walk.
- 8:07Come on. But the the padawans are the
- 8:11reverse so. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:13It's very strange. It's such a conundrum, But
- 8:17neither one is balanced. Anakin's too into saving people.
- 8:23And Luminar's, she made a good point.
- 8:26You know, I'm ready to let go, but she was very quick to let
- 8:29go. I have a problem with that.
- 8:31She was she with no consideration at all of even
- 8:35trying to find them immediately was just like, oh, they're
- 8:38fading away, let let's go. It's like.
- 8:41What? Yeah, I agree.
- 8:44I completely did. She get down, you know the scene
- 8:47where she gets down on her knees and she like closes her eyes.
- 8:50Is she sensing for Bearis? Is that what she's doing?
- 8:54Is she just taking a moment to herself?
- 8:57I'm not even sure. There are a few moments in this
- 9:00where I wasn't completely certain.
- 9:04Look, there's a moment with Anakin also where Luminar, it's
- 9:07right at the beginning. She asks him what was that
- 9:10hesitation about when the Padawans walk away and he goes
- 9:12it's nothing and turns away. What was?
- 9:15That that's is that. Yeah, I don't know what that
- 9:17it's. Is it like a moment where where
- 9:19he's actually right in his concern?
- 9:22Is it a moment where he's just too afraid to let go?
- 9:25Like they didn't take a stance there either, so I'm not quite
- 9:28sure, but it's open to interpretation I guess is, and
- 9:32that's fine. Well.
- 9:34Luminar does say my padawan will not fail.
- 9:39I mean, she has great trust in Barris, but she's also like, no,
- 9:44yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 9:46And Anakin's the opposite where he's he's kind of acting like he
- 9:50doesn't trust Ahsoka and steps all over her at the beginning of
- 9:53this. And then at the end, Ahsoka says
- 9:55I knew you would come, like I knew you'd save us.
- 9:58And so she really does trust him, even despite all of this
- 10:02conflict that they have. It's very interesting because
- 10:05it's, it isn't like black and white scenario.
- 10:08There's a lot of like Gray area in there.
- 10:10And I like that they do this in a kids show.
- 10:13Cause a lot of times in a kids show, they will say this is
- 10:16right and this is wrong and make it very binary when it comes to,
- 10:22you know, morality or whatever. And there's more wiggle room for
- 10:26this argument in this episode. And I think that's really
- 10:29mature. One of the many reasons why I
- 10:31respect this show so much. I like that they did this
- 10:38overall, it's what makes the episode because the the action
- 10:41is kind of like, well, whatever, they have a thing to do and
- 10:43they're going to go do the thing and they our Jedi in the between
- 10:46and droids, droids all the way up by Poggle droids and we get
- 10:50our we get our old favorite ha ha, ha, ha.
- 10:54Yeah, the tactical. He made an appearance.
- 10:56Tactical Droid. I finally thought of what it
- 10:58was. That's the new Tactical.
- 11:01Droid Yeah. Yeah, well, you know.
- 11:04Yeah, right from the beginning, they immediately established the
- 11:08two different dynamics. You know, they have bears.
- 11:10Who says I have done exactly as you asked, Master?
- 11:13And then they cut to Anakin and Ahsoka, and Anakin keeps
- 11:16interrupting Ahsoka. And it made me so angry.
- 11:20It's so disrespectful. If someone does that in real
- 11:23life I get so irritated me. Too.
- 11:27It's total disrespect. It undermines her authority with
- 11:31the soldiers as well. Why would Anakin choose to do
- 11:36this? Why would he make it harder for
- 11:38his men to trust Ahsoka? Because.
- 11:41That's crazy because they grow to trust her so much.
- 11:44I know took a natural course whether he had an influence or
- 11:47not. So that just shows you the trust
- 11:50they had in Ahsoka and how good Ahsoka ended up being in the
- 11:54end. You know, separate from Anakin.
- 11:57Yeah, it's super irritating. And I would have just knocked
- 12:01him one. I mean, not as a Padawan.
- 12:04But yeah, yeah. But even like, their dynamic is
- 12:08so childish. And this, it was making me so
- 12:12angry because even Anakin is very childish in the way that
- 12:15they argue where he's like, oh, I never actually said that.
- 12:18It's like, yeah, but all your actions said that you don't
- 12:21trust her. And she goes, no, no, it's fine.
- 12:24I totally understand. It's like, could we stop with
- 12:26this passive, impressive, childish conversation?
- 12:29If there was ever a time for Luminar to say that it was, then
- 12:33yeah. Seriously.
- 12:34I mean, I love. She saves it for Obi Wan.
- 12:37I love that Ahsoka has the nerve to speak up for herself but the
- 12:41way it's done? Like they don't speak to each
- 12:43other with respect at all and I find that frustrating just as
- 12:48much as I find Barris bowing and saying I am padawan Barris and I
- 12:53am here to serve. Like I hate that dynamic also.
- 12:58It's not balanced. None of us too far on either
- 13:02ends of the spectrum of where everyone should be.
- 13:05In my opinion. This is just an opinion.
- 13:07I totally agree with you. That's why we have a podcast,
- 13:11you know? Very true.
- 13:16It's just, I don't know, it's exhausting.
- 13:20It's a little exhausting. It's just a little exhausting.
- 13:22Yeah, I'm glad that that dynamic doesn't persist like through the
- 13:26whole season. It's kind of.
- 13:28Yeah, very true. It's just sprinkled in here and
- 13:30there, but for the most part, Anakin and Ahsoka are very much
- 13:34a good team. If it had permeated their
- 13:37relationship all the time, I don't know if I could have
- 13:39tolerated it, honestly. Nope.
- 13:42They had to mature. Yeah, they, someone had to.
- 13:45And it turned out to be more balanced in the way that Ahsoka
- 13:48would run to Anakin's aid at the same time that Anakin would run
- 13:52to Ahsoka, you know, literally and figuratively.
- 13:55There's always that episode where Ahsoka is on that her and
- 13:58a bunch of other. Are they all younglings or
- 14:00Padawans or. And they get like, there's
- 14:03little baby Chewy and there's, you know, yes, they're haunted
- 14:07by the, the what do they call those, those snake lizard
- 14:12looking? Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 14:14The the trend oceans yes. Trend Oceans Where was I going
- 14:19with Boss Bosk? I was thinking Bosk is one of
- 14:22them. Oh, is that it, Bosk?
- 14:23OK, Yeah. Wow.
- 14:25Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thank you.
- 14:26OK, so it wasn't a brain. No, no, you're right.
- 14:30That was all Anakin's teaching that helped her stay alive.
- 14:33And we find out later on in more obvious ways, like she survived
- 14:37Order 66 directly resulting from Anakin, which is so it's
- 14:42beautiful and it's fucked up and I'm here for it.
- 14:44But I guess we got Barris's story in the end.
- 14:48You know, we did get her story in the Tales of the Tales of the
- 14:53Sith. Or Tales of the Empire.
- 14:57Was it Tales of the Empire? I don't.
- 14:58Even know I kind of get them yeah, I get them mixed up in my
- 15:01head now cuz yeah, they're, they tell a lot of stories yeah, in
- 15:05short bites. So but yeah, I I guess it's cool
- 15:08that we see her finish her story at least and wrap it up.
- 15:12To be honest, I also don't watch Ahsoka's arc at the end where
- 15:18she leaves the order, you know, the Jedi Order because it's so
- 15:21depressing, too painful. So I kind of don't have as much
- 15:24memory of why Barris did what she did.
- 15:27Well, she hated the order. She thought we were wrong.
- 15:29We listen to me. Listen to me.
- 15:32That was actually I said we, I. Mean.
- 15:37As if I'm one of them. Bitch.
- 15:40OK, ours to our team. Our.
- 15:42Team, you know, if you were good, some people really like to
- 15:45fantasize about being in the Empire and I, I think you and I
- 15:48would really deep down like to be Jedi.
- 15:50So it's fine. Yeah, I think, OK, listen, it's
- 15:54just we it stays. So she thought we were wrong and
- 16:01she was just becoming as jaded about things as some other
- 16:05people were in the order. But you know, yeah, went about
- 16:09it all sorts of wrong. It's sad too, because in these
- 16:13episodes, because there's this one and there's another one, the
- 16:16Brain Invaders one with Ahsoka. And the partnership that they
- 16:21have is actually kind of cool because yeah, you know, we don't
- 16:25often see Padawans working together in Clone Wars.
- 16:28And I have to say too, in media, a lot of times when it's 2 girls
- 16:32working together, it's chatty and they fight and I find that
- 16:37so boring because it's not true. It's not true.
- 16:41But that's why I love this, because they come together and
- 16:43though there are moments where Asoka is like, Are you sure you
- 16:46know what you're doing and Are you sure we're going the right
- 16:48way, they're really more equals. And after the way Anakin's been
- 16:52treating her, I think it's kind of what she needed to be equal
- 16:55with somebody. And and she makes the selfless
- 16:59decision of we can still complete the mission and we
- 17:05would probably die in the process.
- 17:06But that's what they both as children, as Padawans, decide to
- 17:10do. I want to talk about this.
- 17:13Yeah, I think it's really, and it's also so well done.
- 17:17Like the way that sequence unfolds actually gives me
- 17:21goosebumps. It was really beautifully done.
- 17:23I think they're very young to be very sure about just going ahead
- 17:29and doing it. They are devoted to this.
- 17:33I know kind of shows how much the Jedi brainwashed people.
- 17:36You could think of it two ways as like selfless, or maybe
- 17:41they're too young for this, but I.
- 17:44Do wonder if they're not old enough to think through certain
- 17:49things and they're like, you know what?
- 17:50This is what we were made to do. This is our path.
- 17:53This is what we're meant to do. There's no other way out.
- 17:55Let's do it. And I commend them for it.
- 17:58It's crazy how they just are like, you know what, we can do
- 18:02it. We're going to do it.
- 18:03The end. OK, That happened real fast.
- 18:08I haven't, like I said, I haven't seen this in a while.
- 18:10And I can't believe how fast they just came to that decision.
- 18:13I'm just like, I would have sat there for a minute.
- 18:17I'd have just given it another 30, maybe 45 seconds.
- 18:19But you know, they had that, that there was the time thing
- 18:23like the bombs are going to go off and but no, no, no, no.
- 18:25And all this stuff. So they had to do something.
- 18:27So I commend them for it. And it was beautiful, like you
- 18:30said, because the lighting is the lighting in the whole scene,
- 18:33all the scene. And, like, the way she just
- 18:36tells Anakin we're not going to make it and the way he's, like,
- 18:39shouting her name and they just do it anyway.
- 18:42And then the concussions and the explosions that blast out and,
- 18:46like, force the clothes back. Yeah.
- 18:49That was so well done and. Kevin Kiner's music.
- 18:53Is. So good, especially in that
- 18:56moment. It's so good.
- 18:59If you ever just sit around and think like if this had none of
- 19:03the music, it would be half as good.
- 19:05Seriously. Kevin Kinder's music is so good
- 19:08for all this. Yes, yeah.
- 19:10He really is talented. There was another show I was
- 19:14watching and I kept seeing like, Kevin Kiner is like a producer.
- 19:19I think I was like, what? And I looked it up and he had
- 19:22done all the music for this show that I've been watching, and I
- 19:25think he was a producer and I was like, well, that explains
- 19:27why this music is so fucking good.
- 19:31He's so talented. We should do an episode about
- 19:34him 'cause. He's we were gonna, we said we
- 19:35were going to Yeah, we. Need to make that happen and we
- 19:38did see him in person that and we did we.
- 19:41Did I forgot about that? Oh my God, you're right, I
- 19:46forgot. Yeah, his music, especially in
- 19:49that moment, I thought it really like made me pause and like kind
- 19:54of gave me chills watching that sequence because again, like, I
- 19:56hadn't watched it in such a long time, but I really appreciated
- 20:00feeling a lot in just such a short period of time.
- 20:04That's the other thing, 20 minutes episodes and it will
- 20:07bring you to tears in those 20 minutes.
- 20:10It's really crazy and it should be appreciated because we don't
- 20:13get stuff like this anymore. Yeah, yeah.
- 20:16The way they build the story and it's sometimes, you know,
- 20:21especially the conflict between Anakin and Ahsoka and how
- 20:24Luminara is so different. It's so it's kind of
- 20:26heavy-handed, but it. Really works, yeah.
- 20:30But they get. Done what they need to get done
- 20:32in the story. Yes.
- 20:34And as they build into this, like, major Crux, it's like, oh,
- 20:39OK, This is why That's that heavy handedness is so
- 20:43important. Because even despite all that,
- 20:45they're so selfless. They make this decision, which
- 20:48then impacts Luminara and Anakin in totally different ways.
- 20:53But the Padawans, like Ahsoka remains totally confident that
- 20:58Anakin will look for them embarrassed.
- 21:01It's just like we're going to suffocate in here, right?
- 21:05Oh shit, yeah. And soak is like, well, don't
- 21:08worry about starving, we'll run out of air before that.
- 21:11And I'm just like, that's the, that's the spirit of soak.
- 21:14Yeah, exactly. Don't make yourselves laugh,
- 21:16you'll use the air up twice as quick.
- 21:19And she's smart to use Anakin's knowledge and tricks to get a
- 21:23signal out to him, kind of like Morse code.
- 21:26It is brilliant. You're not dead until you're
- 21:28dead, so you might as well try anything.
- 21:30Yeah. So just sit there.
- 21:32It's amazing how fast they found them.
- 21:36Well, did you notice when Anakin and Luminara bring the the piece
- 21:41of metal up, it's very reminiscent, at least it was to
- 21:45me of the scene in Rebels where Darth Vader lifts the piece of
- 21:50metal up off of him when Ezra is like with him and and Ahsoka is
- 21:54about to battle or Ahsoka is coming And it's all in that
- 21:57moment. And I think Ezra knocks it on
- 22:01him and he does the thing where he like, lifts it up and you can
- 22:04see his gloved hand. And that was kind of a parallel
- 22:10in there. And just like.
- 22:11Oh shit, here we go with the parallels.
- 22:13But I I just remember that because it's a really cool scene
- 22:16and I remember Deanna put it in my birthday.
- 22:19She she put it in like in my birthday sequence when we met,
- 22:25everybody made the, the patrons made the.
- 22:26Video Oh, that's great. Yeah, I remember I was like,
- 22:30that's a great scene. I love it.
- 22:31I just want to talk about how creepy that cave tunnel is that
- 22:36a SO can barrister in. I love that though.
- 22:39Oh my God, it's the first time I was like creeped out watching
- 22:41that show and it was so good. It was, and I was thinking of
- 22:45you and what you said in the last episode about the elements
- 22:47of horror and, and you know, just the creepy vibes and this
- 22:53is a very unique species that they're dealing with.
- 22:59And if it had been me and the hand fell like on Barris, and it
- 23:03would have, I'd have screamed, woke the whole hive up, it would
- 23:07have been over. I can't with bugs.
- 23:11I can't with bugs. No, I couldn't have been on this
- 23:14planet without freaking out. Barris is just like Ahsoka.
- 23:20Ahsoka, how can you be so calm? This is why she's a Jedi and I'm
- 23:24not. Yeah, I'd be vomiting on myself
- 23:27as. Well, yeah.
- 23:30I know that sequence is so good. Looks so good, but then like
- 23:36they're walking and they go through the tunnel and then it
- 23:38zooms in on the eye of the bug and he's like awake.
- 23:40It's a total like like horror. Jump scare Spooky.
- 23:44Spooky. Film, yes, you know it is.
- 23:47It's really great. I think the whole sequence is
- 23:49really well done. The first time I watched it I
- 23:52remember thinking, oh, they're doing like some alien creepy
- 23:56shit where you gotta crawl under the sleeping enemy and it could
- 24:01just wake up and devour you and then they they want up it in the
- 24:05next episode because then they go down into the tunnels.
- 24:09I can't wait for the the next episode.
- 24:13I don't, but did did you notice like they fly out of those
- 24:16columns that are those rocky columns that are out there.
- 24:19I never noticed, like I never memory banked that.
- 24:22Me. Either live in those things.
- 24:24That's really cool. I mean, for world building and
- 24:28creature creation, it's kind of cool.
- 24:30It's differently. Because they they seem to live
- 24:33underground. They have battle stations, they
- 24:35have temples on the surface, but then they have these catacombs
- 24:38down underneath and it's kind of like an anthill, I guess, in a
- 24:42way. I know I don't.
- 24:45I don't like the parallels. Gives gives me the heebie
- 24:48jeebies. I try not to think of them as
- 24:50bugs, I just think of them as aliens and it like creeps me out
- 24:53a lot less. But.
- 24:54Well, the one had like, straight up human teeth.
- 24:57He smiles when they're like taking the bombs or something.
- 25:00And he has, yeah, I'm like, they have actual human teeth.
- 25:03What is this? I love Poggle though, I like the
- 25:07noises that he makes. He has a walking stick.
- 25:11He's a badass. I.
- 25:12Know. I know he.
- 25:13Has a whole fucking cane. Him and Yoda could go at it with
- 25:16their canes. It almost to me the cane kind of
- 25:21looks like a tooth of like something larger.
- 25:25I don't know if it is, but. It looks like it could be a wing
- 25:28piece like a like a a bone from one of their wings.
- 25:33Am I? Yeah, it feels.
- 25:34It does feel more like a bone right than like a.
- 25:37Stick. It does look like one, yeah.
- 25:39Like a tooth, a bone, a Tusk, a something.
- 25:41Something which I kind of love again, whoever designs this
- 25:45stuff and decides to throw something like that in there.
- 25:48I just it's what's missing from so many pieces of animation.
- 25:53You know the it's true forethought that's put in.
- 25:56I'm kind of with Anakin and Ahsoka on this.
- 25:59I'm biased though. Yeah, I feel like both teams
- 26:03make good points. Anakin and Ahsoka give off the
- 26:06impression of being unprofessional.
- 26:10I was just thinking, Barris and Luminara are very professional,
- 26:16very mature about how they present themselves at all times.
- 26:22You know, Luminara has that little twinkle in her eye, that
- 26:25little that you know, the smirk, the kind of like she's amused by
- 26:29Anakin. Well there is that book in Star
- 26:31Wars, I don't know if it's Canon, something of The
- 26:35Apprentice. It's about Obi Wan and Anakin
- 26:38and they meet up with well they go to save Barris.
- 26:40I read it so long ago I can't even remember.
- 26:42It's not that great, but I. Don't know of this one like.
- 26:45There's that going on, and that was pre, that was in and around
- 26:49Attack of the Clones. OK.
- 26:52So they kind of, I think it's the first time that Anakin ever
- 26:54met Barris. So I, I feel like there's a
- 26:58little bit of amusement there on Luminara's part.
- 27:00She knows Anakin, she knows of Anakin.
- 27:03I'm sure she's listened to Obi Wan vent about Anakin.
- 27:09I mean, I don't know, who knows that's a head cannon, but
- 27:12they're very professional. Ahsoka and Anakin, for our
- 27:17viewing pleasure, are kind of like comrades, like nudge,
- 27:20nudge, you know, look at this guy over here, you know, and
- 27:25it's a little less professional. They still get the job done.
- 27:28Yeah, it's interesting because they, I think for the most part
- 27:31it works for them, but then when Anakin tries to have some
- 27:34authority, Ahsoka gives them a lot of shit for it, and
- 27:38sometimes she's more authoritative than he is.
- 27:41And it's all very interesting considering how they turn out,
- 27:46you know, which of course, we didn't know what was gonna
- 27:49happen to Ahsoka. And she has one of the great
- 27:52arcs, you know, the greatest maturing arc that we see in Star
- 27:56Wars besides maybe Luke. Because we definitely see him
- 28:00change quite a lot from where he begins in A New Hope to where he
- 28:03ends up. I'm going to stay in Return of
- 28:05the Jedi. Yes.
- 28:07Beyond that, I don't like to think about it, but.
- 28:10Correct. Ahsoka has this great snippy
- 28:13beginning and becomes one of the most mature, grounded characters
- 28:17in all of Star Wars so. Very I, I love her arc, I really
- 28:22do. I have a question for you
- 28:23though. OK.
- 28:25So Ahsoka and Barris come out and the look on Ahsoka's face,
- 28:29she's like blinking slowly and like Anakin comes into the light
- 28:32and she's so relieved. And I never doubted you once,
- 28:35Pat, you know that Anakin says to her, doesn't he say that to
- 28:40her in the Ahsoka series? Doesn't he say something to that
- 28:44effect? Or am I making that up?
- 28:45Oh my gosh, I don't know. I never doubted you.
- 28:49I think he says it because I got a flash of that in me and I'm
- 28:53like, Oh my God. I don't know if they like pulled
- 28:55it from that or if it's just something that Anakin just
- 28:57exudes like he always trusted Ahsoka.
- 29:02As episodes go. Yeah.
- 29:05How would you rate this one? Like what would you?
- 29:07How would you rate it? Like from one to 1010 being the
- 29:10best one being not so great? I think it's a solid 6.
- 29:15It's like in the in the four to six range.
- 29:18Yeah, because it's really well done, but it's also kind of
- 29:21there's stuff that's better. That's where I'm at.
- 29:24It's visually appealing, the music is great, the lesson is
- 29:28intertwined, but there's better episodes so.
- 29:31Yeah. And also like, like compared to
- 29:34the one that's coming up next. Oh well, that's what I'm trying
- 29:37not to do. Well like the next one is so
- 29:39good. I think that's why I skip
- 29:41weapons factory because you go from landing to point landing at
- 29:45point rain to what is this legacy of terror?
- 29:48Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yes, like.
- 29:50Two of my favorite episodes. So yeah, Weapons Factory gets
- 29:53skipped like all the time because I just want to get to
- 29:56the Obi Wan stuff. What?
- 29:57What do you rate it then? I would, I would say like a 7-6
- 30:02or seven because I think it is really good.
- 30:04But to me, often if Obi Wan's not in it at all.
- 30:10A usually thing. I'm likely to skip over it,
- 30:12yeah. That's the other thing.
- 30:14Yep, Yep, Yep, Yep, Yep. Yeah, I'm the same.
- 30:18Well, very well. On to the next.
- 30:26All right, join us back here for the next episode, which we get
- 30:30to talk about all the things with Legacy of Terror.
- 30:34We're going underground with a sassy Obi Wan.
- 30:38I can't wait. He's so pretty in this I.
- 30:40Can't wait. Oh, it's so good, It's so good.
- 30:43Actually, our logo, our Obi Wan drawing is from this episode.
- 30:49The legacy of. Your that's right.
- 30:52That's awesome. I can't wait.
