Luna: Første. Lucas: Second: 'anden'. Luna: Anden. Lucas: Third: 'tredje'. Luna: Tredje. Lucas: Fourth: 'fjerde'. Luna: Fjerde. Lucas: Fifth: 'femte'. Luna: Femte. Lucas: Sixth: 'sjette'. Luna: Sjette. That one sounds like 'sjet-te'. Lucas: Yes, like 'sjet' with a soft 'e'. Seventh: 'syvende'. Luna: Syvende. Lucas: Eighth: 'ottende'. Luna: Ottende. Lucas: Ninth: 'niende'. Luna: Niende. Lucas: Tenth: 'tiende'. Luna: Tiende. Lucas: Eleventh: 'ellevte'. Luna: Ellevte. That's a mouthful. Lucas: Twelfth: 'tolvte'. Luna: Tolvte. Okay, I think I have them. But can we quiz? Lucas: Sure. I'll say a number in English, you say the ordinal in Danish. First? Luna: Første. Lucas: Third? Luna: Tredje. Lucas: Seventh? Luna: Syvende. Lucas: Eleventh? Luna: Ellevte. Good. Lucas: Now let's put them in a sentence. 'I am first.' in Danish is 'Jeg er den første.' Luna: Jeg er den første. Lucas: 'She is second.' — 'Hun er den anden.' Luna: Hun er den anden. Lucas: 'He is third.' — 'Han er den tredje.' Luna: Han er den tredje. Lucas: Great. Now, imagine you're at the zoo and the lion is in the first cage: 'Løven er i det første bur.' Luna: Løven er i det første bur. Lucas: And the elephant is in the second: 'Elefanten er i det andet bur.' Luna: Elefanten er i det andet bur. Lucas: See how 'anden' becomes 'andet' with neuter nouns? We'll cover that another time.
