1:49

1:51
Thank
1:51
you.
1:52
This
1:52
is
1:52
a
1:52
big
1:52
deal.
1:53
I'm
1:53
very
1:53
honored
1:53
to
1:53
be
1:54
a
1:54
part
1:54
of
1:54
this.
1:55
I'm
1:55
excited
1:55
to
1:55
have
1:55
you
1:56
on
1:56
and
1:56
I
1:56
was
1:56
shocked
1:57
when
1:57
we
1:57
did
1:57
our
1:57
pre
1:57
interview
1:58
call
1:58
for
1:58
you
1:58
to
1:58
tell
1:58
me
1:58
that
1:59
you
1:59
haven't
1:59
done
1:59
podcasts
2:00
before.
2:00
No,
2:01
I've
2:01
been
2:01
waiting
2:01
for
2:02
you
2:02
to
2:02
invite
2:02
me,
2:03
so
2:03
I'm
2:03
glad
2:03
you
2:03
finally
2:04
did.
2:06
You
2:06
sound
2:06
like
2:07
Tim
2:07
Flagler.
2:11
So
2:12
you
2:12
know
2:12
we
2:12
have
2:12
a
2:13
tradition
2:13
on
2:13
the
2:13
Articulate
2:14
Fly.
2:14
We
2:14
like
2:14
to
2:14
ask
2:15
all
2:15
of
2:15
our
2:15
guests
2:15
to
2:15
share
2:16
their
2:16
earliest
2:16
fishing
2:17
memory.
2:18
Ah,
2:19
well,
2:20
earliest
2:20
fishing
2:21
memory
2:21
was
2:21
definitely
2:22
with
2:22
my
2:22
uncle
2:23
when
2:23
I
2:23
was
2:23
a
2:23
little
2:24
boy
2:24
fishing
2:25
for
2:25
Crappie
2:26
in
2:26
South
2:26
Carolina
2:27
with
2:28
just
2:28
absolute
2:29
junk
2:29
for
2:30
equipment.
2:30
But
2:30
it
2:30
didn't
2:31
matter
2:31
because,
2:32
you
2:32
know,
2:32
it
2:32
was
2:33
time
2:33
with
2:33
my
2:33
uncle.
2:34
Yeah,
2:34
that's
2:35
super
2:35
neat.
2:35
And
2:35
so
2:36
when
2:36
did
2:36
you
2:36
come
2:36
to
2:36
the
2:36
dark
2:37
side
2:37
of
2:37
fly
2:37
fishing?
2:39
You
2:39
know,
2:39
I
2:40
Was
2:40
absolutely
2:40
obsessed.
2:41
I
2:41
was
2:41
living
2:41
in
2:41
Denver
2:42
and
2:43
was
2:43
just
2:44
obsessed
2:44
with
2:45
the
2:45
sport.
2:45
Just
2:46
loved
2:46
it.
2:46
But
2:46
there
2:46
was
2:47
no
2:47
one
2:47
in
2:47
my
2:47
world
2:47
who
2:48
did
2:48
it.
2:48
You
2:48
know,
2:48
I
2:48
didn't
2:49
have
2:49
a
2:49
father
2:49
who
2:50
my
2:50
father
2:50
didn't
2:51
really
2:51
enjoy
2:53
doing
2:53
much
2:53
outside
2:54
of.
2:55
He
2:55
was
2:55
just
2:55
forced
2:55
to
2:55
do
2:56
work
2:56
all
2:56
the
2:56
time,
2:57
so
2:57
he
2:57
didn't
2:57
have
2:58
time
2:58
to
2:58
play.
2:59
And
3:00
so
3:00
I
3:00
really
3:02
read
3:02
every
3:02
book
3:03
I
3:03
could
3:03
find,
3:03
watched
3:03
every
3:04
video
3:04
I
3:04
could
3:04
find,
3:05
and
3:05
I
3:05
just
3:05
spent
3:05
a
3:05
lot
3:06
of
3:06
time
3:06
on
3:06
the
3:06
water.
3:07
And
3:07
actually,
3:08
I
3:08
remember
3:09
the
3:09
very
3:09
first
3:09
fish
3:10
I
3:10
ever
3:10
caught
3:10
on
3:10
a
3:10
fly,
3:11
and
3:12
it
3:12
was
3:12
actually
3:13
with
3:13
a
3:13
spinning
3:14
rod,
3:14
with
3:14
a
3:14
bubble.
3:16
And
3:16
believe
3:17
it
3:17
or
3:17
not,
3:17
it
3:17
was
3:17
a
3:18
Trico
3:19
dry
3:19
fly
3:20
in
3:20
Cheeseman
3:21
Canyon,
3:21
of
3:21
all
3:21
things.
3:22
And
3:22
I
3:22
don't
3:22
even
3:22
think
3:22
I
3:22
could
3:23
duplicate
3:24
that.
3:24
Now,
3:24
those
3:24
fish
3:24
are
3:25
so
3:25
hard
3:25
to
3:25
catch,
3:25
but
3:25
for
3:26
some
3:26
reason,
3:27
there
3:27
was
3:27
one
3:27
fish
3:28
kind
3:28
enough
3:29
to
3:29
eat
3:29
my
3:29
fly.
3:30
And
3:30
that.
3:30
That
3:31
fish
3:31
changed
3:31
everything
3:32
for
3:32
me.
3:33
Yeah,
3:33
that's
3:33
pretty
3:34
neat.
3:34
I
3:34
think
3:34
literally,
3:35
if
3:35
they
3:35
heard
3:35
you,
3:35
like,
3:36
take
3:36
the
3:36
bubble
3:36
out
3:36
of
3:36
the
3:36
car,
3:37
they
3:37
would
3:37
spook.
3:38
Yeah,
3:38
absolutely.
3:39
It's
3:40
a
3:40
special
3:40
place.
3:41
Yep.
3:41
Yeah.
3:42
And
3:43
so
3:43
who
3:43
are
3:43
some
3:44
of
3:44
the
3:44
folks
3:44
that
3:44
have
3:44
mentored
3:45
you
3:45
on
3:45
your
3:45
fly
3:45
fishing
3:46
journey
3:46
and
3:46
what
3:46
did
3:46
you
3:46
learn
3:46
from.
3:48
You
3:48
know,
3:48
it's
3:48
interesting.
3:50
I
3:50
would
3:51
have
3:51
loved
3:51
to
3:51
have
3:51
had
3:51
a
3:52
mentor.
3:52
I
3:52
really
3:52
would
3:53
have.
3:53
There
3:53
were
3:53
definitely
3:54
some
3:55
up
3:56
and
3:56
coming
3:56
celebrities
3:57
in
3:57
Denver,
3:58
especially
3:59
at
3:59
that
3:59
time.
3:59
But,
4:00
you
4:01
know,
4:02
when
4:03
I
4:03
decided
4:04
to
4:04
officially
4:05
get
4:05
into
4:06
the
4:06
business
4:06
and
4:06
into
4:07
the
4:07
industry,
4:07
I
4:07
should
4:08
say
4:08
before
4:08
that,
4:10
I
4:11
really
4:11
just
4:11
wanted
4:12
to
4:12
spend
4:12
as
4:12
much
4:12
time
4:12
as
4:13
I
4:13
could
4:13
on
4:13
the
4:13
water.
4:14
And
4:14
I
4:14
realized
4:15
that
4:15
there
4:15
weren't
4:15
a
4:15
lot
4:15
of
4:16
mentors
4:17
out
4:17
there
4:18
that
4:18
I
4:18
had
4:18
circled
4:19
circle
4:19
with.
4:19
So,
4:20
you
4:20
know,
4:21
my.
4:21
My
4:21
best
4:21
friend
4:22
in
4:22
the
4:22
world
4:22
is
4:22
my
4:22
sister
4:23
Jean,
4:23
and
4:24
we're
4:24
five
4:24
years
4:25
apart.
4:26
And
4:27
I
4:27
discovered
4:28
that
4:28
it's
4:28
something
4:28
that
4:28
she
4:29
wanted
4:29
to
4:29
learn
4:29
as
4:29
well.
4:31
And
4:31
so
4:32
instead
4:32
of
4:32
having
4:32
a
4:32
mentor,
4:33
really,
4:33
Gene
4:34
and
4:34
I
4:34
just
4:34
kind
4:34
of
4:34
doubled
4:35
up
4:35
and
4:36
worked
4:37
together
4:37
and
4:37
learned
4:38
together
4:39
how
4:39
to
4:40
fly
4:40
fish
4:40
from
4:40
the
4:40
ground
4:41
up.
4:41
It
4:41
was
4:41
definitely
4:42
the
4:42
slow
4:43
trail
4:44
of
4:44
learning
4:44
the
4:44
sport.
4:46
A
4:46
lot
4:46
of
4:46
trial
4:47
and
4:47
error,
4:48
but
4:49
it
4:50
was
4:50
just.
4:50
It
4:50
was
4:51
a
4:51
great
4:51
time
4:51
to
4:51
have
4:51
that.
4:52
That
4:53
time
4:53
and
4:53
experience
4:53
with
4:54
her.
4:55
And,
4:56
you
4:56
know,
4:56
we
4:56
did
4:57
something
4:57
called.
4:58
Called
4:58
one
4:59
rotting.
4:59
You
4:59
know,
4:59
we
5:00
only
5:00
had
5:00
enough
5:00
money
5:00
to
5:01
buy
5:01
one
5:02
nice
5:02
rod
5:03
and
5:03
real
5:03
outfit.
5:04
And
5:05
so
5:05
we
5:05
would
5:05
go
5:06
into
5:06
Cheeseman
5:07
Canyon
5:07
and
5:08
we
5:08
would
5:08
just
5:08
take
5:08
one
5:09
rod
5:09
and
5:10
basically
5:10
one
5:10
would
5:11
fish
5:11
and
5:11
the
5:12
other
5:12
would
5:12
stand
5:12
there
5:12
and
5:13
observe
5:14
and
5:14
watch.
5:15
And
5:16
if
5:16
that
5:16
person
5:16
would
5:17
hook
5:17
a
5:17
fish,
5:18
usually
5:18
miss
5:18
it,
5:19
then
5:19
we'd
5:20
swap
5:20
out
5:20
and
5:21
then
5:21
the
5:21
next
5:21
person
5:22
grabbed
5:22
the
5:22
rod.
5:23
And
5:24
it's
5:25
pretty
5:25
remarkable
5:26
how
5:26
much
5:26
you
5:26
can
5:27
learn
5:28
when
5:28
you're
5:29
not
5:29
fishing.
5:32
It
5:33
sounds
5:33
kind
5:34
of
5:34
strange,
5:34
but
5:34
when
5:34
you
5:35
are
5:35
solely
5:36
focused
5:36
on
5:36
observing,
5:38
you're
5:39
not
5:39
actually
5:39
physically
5:40
holding
5:40
the
5:40
rod,
5:41
you're
5:42
not
5:42
physically
5:42
waiting
5:43
to
5:43
set
5:43
that
5:43
hook,
5:44
but
5:44
you're
5:44
instead,
5:45
you
5:46
know,
5:46
your
5:46
peripheral
5:47
vision's
5:47
a
5:47
little
5:47
bit
5:47
bigger.
5:48
You
5:48
can
5:48
see
5:48
a
5:49
little
5:49
bit
5:49
more
5:49
than
5:49
the
5:49
person
5:50
that's
5:50
actually
5:50
fishing
5:51
who's
5:51
hyper
5:52
focused
5:53
on
5:53
what
5:53
that
5:54
fish
5:54
is
5:54
doing.
5:54
But
5:54
you
5:54
can
5:55
actually
5:55
see
5:55
other
5:55
opportunities.
5:56
You
5:57
can
5:57
see
5:57
what
5:57
the
5:57
fly
5:57
is
5:57
actually
5:58
doing,
5:58
see
5:58
maybe
5:59
with
5:59
where
5:59
that
6:00
current
6:00
should
6:00
be.
6:01
And
6:02
that
6:02
was
6:02
just
6:03
for
6:03
us,
6:03
that
6:04
was
6:04
just
6:04
a
6:04
master
6:05
class,
6:05
long
6:06
answer,
6:06
but
6:07
that
6:07
was
6:07
just,
6:08
that
6:08
was
6:08
just
6:08
a
6:09
really
6:09
special
6:09
time
6:09
for
6:10
us.
6:11
Yeah,
6:11
and
6:11
it's
6:11
an
6:11
interesting
6:12
thing
6:12
too,
6:12
right,
6:13
because
6:13
we
6:13
kind
6:14
of
6:14
look
6:14
at
6:16
kind
6:16
of
6:17
YouTube
6:17
and
6:17
all
6:18
the
6:18
stuff
6:18
there
6:18
is
6:18
today
6:18
and
6:19
there's
6:19
a
6:19
place
6:19
for
6:19
that.
6:20
But
6:20
I
6:20
keep
6:20
having
6:21
these
6:21
recurring
6:21
conversations
6:23
with
6:24
people
6:24
that
6:24
have
6:24
been
6:24
in
6:24
the
6:24
sport
6:25
longer
6:26
about
6:27
actually
6:28
there
6:28
being
6:29
scarcity
6:30
and
6:30
having
6:30
to
6:31
have
6:31
focus
6:31
and
6:31
not
6:32
being
6:32
able
6:32
to
6:32
just
6:33
look
6:33
up
6:33
everything
6:33
on
6:34
your
6:34
phone.
6:34
And
6:35
you
6:35
actually
6:35
ended
6:35
up
6:36
with
6:36
a
6:36
kind
6:36
of
6:36
a
6:36
more
6:37
well
6:37
rounded
6:37
and
6:38
deeper
6:38
foundation
6:39
in
6:39
terms
6:39
of
6:39
fishing
6:39
and
6:40
fishing
6:40
skills.
6:41
I
6:42
would
6:42
totally
6:42
agree.
6:43
Yeah,
6:43
absolutely.
6:45
Yeah.
6:45
It's
6:45
interesting
6:45
because,
6:46
I
6:46
mean,
6:46
kind
6:46
of
6:46
one
6:46
of
6:46
my
6:47
sort
6:47
of
6:47
knocks
6:48
kind
6:48
of
6:48
on
6:48
the
6:48
industry
6:49
is
6:49
I
6:49
think
6:49
we've
6:49
in
6:50
an
6:50
effort
6:50
to
6:50
sell
6:50
more
6:50
stuff,
6:51
we've
6:51
kind
6:51
of
6:51
dumbed
6:52
things
6:52
down
6:52
and
6:52
we
6:52
actually
6:53
make
6:53
it
6:53
harder
6:53
for
6:54
people
6:54
to
6:54
become
6:55
accomplished
6:55
anglers.
6:56
Yes.
6:57
There's
6:57
certainly
6:58
something
6:59
to
6:59
be
6:59
said
6:59
about
7:00
having
7:00
too
7:00
much
7:01
information
7:01
out
7:01
there.
7:02
And
7:02
I
7:03
think
7:03
it's
7:03
all
7:03
well
7:03
intended.
7:04
You
7:04
know,
7:04
as
7:04
I
7:05
sit
7:05
down
7:05
to
7:05
talk
7:05
to
7:05
other
7:06
people
7:06
who
7:06
are,
7:07
who
7:07
are
7:07
casting
7:08
instructors
7:08
or
7:08
who
7:09
teach
7:09
fly
7:09
fishing
7:10
classes.
7:10
You
7:10
know,
7:11
I
7:11
taught
7:11
at
7:11
the
7:11
Orvis
7:12
schools
7:12
for
7:13
a
7:13
long
7:13
time
7:13
and
7:14
as
7:14
I
7:14
sit
7:14
down
7:15
and
7:15
talk
7:15
to
7:15
those
7:15
instructors,
7:16
I
7:16
find
7:16
a
7:17
lot
7:17
of
7:17
those
7:17
instructors
7:18
learned
7:19
the
7:19
hard
7:19
way
7:19
as
7:19
well.
7:20
I
7:20
think
7:21
we
7:21
took
7:22
the
7:22
slow
7:23
route
7:23
to
7:23
learn
7:24
the
7:24
sport.
7:24
And
7:25
in
7:25
a
7:25
lot
7:25
of
7:25
ways
7:25
I
7:25
think
7:26
that
7:26
motivated
7:26
all
7:27
of
7:27
us
7:28
to
7:28
really
7:28
be
7:29
better
7:29
teachers
7:29
and
7:29
help
7:30
these
7:30
people
7:30
kind
7:31
of
7:31
shorten
7:31
that
7:31
learning
7:32
curve
7:32
with,
7:32
with
7:33
what
7:34
we've
7:34
learned
7:34
over
7:34
the
7:34
years.
7:36
Yeah,
7:36
it's
7:36
interesting
7:37
because
7:37
one
7:37
of
7:37
my
7:38
observations
7:38
has
7:38
been
7:39
that
7:39
we've
7:40
gotten
7:40
to
7:40
a
7:40
place
7:40
where
7:41
everyone
7:41
wants
7:41
like
7:41
a
7:41
90
7:42
second
7:42
answer
7:42
in
7:43
an
7:43
Instagram
7:43
reel.
7:45
And
7:47
I
7:47
think
7:47
if
7:48
we
7:48
focus
7:48
more
7:49
on
7:49
helping
7:49
anglers
7:50
understand
7:50
why
7:51
they're
7:51
doing
7:51
what
7:51
they
7:51
do,
7:51
then
7:52
they
7:52
can
7:52
become
7:52
a
7:52
lot
7:52
better
7:53
at
7:53
solving
7:53
problems
7:54
for
7:54
themselves
7:54
when
7:54
they
7:55
don't
7:55
have
7:55
all
7:55
the
7:55
experts
7:55
around.
7:56
And
7:56
they
7:56
can't
7:56
get
7:56
a
7:56
signal
7:57
on
7:57
their
7:57
telephone.
7:58
Absolutely.
7:59
That.
7:59
Very
7:59
well
8:00
said.
8:00
That's
8:00
a
8:01
very
8:01
good
8:01
point.
8:01
Yeah.
8:02
And
8:02
so,
8:03
so
8:03
you
8:03
were
8:04
eating
8:04
up
8:04
with
8:04
it.
8:04
You
8:04
had
8:04
one
8:05
rod,
8:05
you
8:05
shared
8:05
it
8:06
with
8:06
your
8:06
sister.
8:06
So
8:06
when
8:06
did
8:07
you
8:07
get
8:07
the
8:07
guide
8:07
bug?
8:09
Well,
8:09
you
8:10
know,
8:11
we,
8:12
we
8:12
love
8:12
to
8:12
fish
8:13
so
8:13
much.
8:13
It
8:13
was
8:13
basically
8:14
all
8:14
I
8:14
could
8:14
think
8:14
about.
8:15
Even
8:15
while
8:15
I
8:16
was
8:16
at
8:16
work.
8:16
I
8:16
was
8:17
in
8:17
a
8:17
corporate
8:18
role.
8:19
And
8:20
it
8:20
actually
8:20
got
8:21
to
8:21
the
8:21
point
8:21
where
8:24
just
8:24
as
8:24
we
8:24
started
8:24
to
8:25
get
8:25
our
8:25
feet
8:25
wet,
8:26
get
8:26
some
8:26
success
8:27
and,
8:27
you
8:27
know,
8:27
that
8:28
confidence
8:28
kicked
8:28
in.
8:29
Then
8:29
I
8:29
could
8:29
not
8:30
wait
8:31
to
8:31
basically
8:31
share
8:32
it
8:32
with
8:32
everybody
8:32
that
8:32
I
8:33
knew.
8:33
And
8:34
I
8:34
started
8:34
taking
8:35
people
8:35
out
8:35
and,
8:36
you
8:36
know,
8:36
I
8:36
just
8:37
learned
8:38
from
8:38
our
8:38
mistakes
8:39
and
8:39
they,
8:39
you
8:39
know,
8:40
we
8:40
really
8:40
celebrated
8:41
their
8:41
successes
8:42
and
8:42
it
8:42
was
8:43
just,
8:43
there
8:43
was
8:44
just
8:44
something
8:44
inside
8:45
me
8:45
that
8:45
just
8:45
lit
8:46
up
8:46
like,
8:46
wow,
8:46
this,
8:47
this
8:48
is
8:48
different.
8:48
This
8:49
is
8:49
really
8:49
fulfilling.
8:50
Um,
8:51
and
8:52
I
8:52
can
8:52
say
8:53
now,
8:53
you
8:54
know,
8:54
many,
8:54
many
8:54
years
8:54
ago,
8:55
you
8:55
know,
8:55
that
8:55
started
8:56
many
8:56
years
8:56
ago.
8:57
I
8:57
can
8:57
still
8:57
say
8:57
now
8:57
that
8:58
nothing
8:58
I've
8:58
done
8:58
in
8:58
my
8:59
life
8:59
has
8:59
been
8:59
more
8:59
fulfilling
9:00
than
9:01
guiding
9:01
someone
9:02
on
9:02
the
9:02
water.
9:03
It's
9:03
just
9:03
an
9:03
incredible
9:03
experience.
9:04
So
9:05
I
9:05
actually
9:06
ended
9:06
up
9:06
leaving
9:06
my
9:06
corporate
9:07
job
9:07
and
9:08
moved
9:08
to
9:09
working
9:10
as
9:10
a
9:11
shop
9:11
hound
9:12
at
9:12
a
9:12
fly
9:12
shop
9:12
in,
9:13
in
9:13
Denver.
9:14
And,
9:15
you
9:16
know,
9:16
working
9:17
at
9:17
the
9:17
fly
9:17
shop,
9:18
eventually
9:18
there
9:19
were
9:19
opportunities
9:20
to
9:20
get
9:20
my
9:21
foot
9:21
in
9:21
the
9:21
door
9:22
with
9:22
a
9:22
guide,
9:23
as
9:23
a
9:23
guide.
9:24
And
9:25
once
9:26
that
9:26
happened,
9:27
once
9:27
I
9:28
started
9:28
taking
9:28
people
9:29
out
9:29
on
9:29
the
9:29
river,
9:29
that's
9:30
again,
9:30
that's
9:30
all
9:31
I,
9:31
that's
9:32
all
9:32
I
9:32
wanted
9:32
to
9:32
do.
9:33
And
9:34
they
9:35
were
9:36
kind
9:36
enough
9:36
to
9:37
just
9:37
give
9:37
me
9:38
opportunities
9:39
to
9:39
take
9:39
customers
9:40
out.
9:40
And
9:41
then
9:41
working
9:41
in
9:41
the
9:41
shop,
9:42
it
9:42
gave
9:42
me
9:42
a
9:42
chance
9:42
to
9:43
just
9:43
talk
9:43
people
9:43
into
9:44
a
9:44
guide
9:44
trip
9:45
and
9:45
starting
9:45
building
9:46
that
9:46
relationship.
9:47
And
9:48
it
9:48
was
9:48
just,
9:48
it
9:48
was
9:48
a
9:49
very,
9:49
very
9:49
good,
9:50
good
9:50
time
9:50
in
9:50
our
9:51
lives.
9:52
Yeah.
9:52
It's
9:53
interesting
9:53
too
9:53
because
9:54
I
9:54
think
9:55
kind
9:55
of
9:55
that
9:56
Denver
9:56
metro
9:56
area
9:57
is
9:57
such
9:57
a
9:57
super
9:58
unique
9:59
fly
9:59
fishing
10:00
location
10:00
in
10:00
terms
10:01
of
10:02
access
10:02
to
10:02
the
10:03
resource.
10:04
Although
10:04
now
10:04
you
10:04
have
10:05
traffic
10:05
out
10:05
there
10:06
that's
10:06
like
10:06
LA
10:06
traffic,
10:07
but
10:07
you
10:07
know,
10:08
tons,
10:09
tons
10:09
of
10:09
access
10:10
to
10:10
the
10:10
resource.
10:11
I
10:11
mean,
10:11
probably,
10:13
you
10:13
know,
10:14
in
10:14
terms
10:14
of
10:15
like,
10:15
probably
10:15
the
10:15
most
10:15
fly
10:16
shops
10:16
spread
10:16
out
10:17
over
10:17
that
10:17
much
10:17
of
10:17
an
10:18
area
10:18
anywhere
10:18
in
10:18
the
10:18
country.
10:20
Yeah,
10:20
I
10:20
mean,
10:21
just
10:21
a
10:21
phenomenally,
10:22
you
10:22
know,
10:22
interesting
10:23
culture
10:23
and
10:23
a
10:23
lot
10:23
of
10:23
different
10:24
ways
10:24
to
10:24
fish
10:25
and
10:25
a
10:25
lot.
10:25
Of
10:25
variety
10:26
in
10:26
water.
10:27
You
10:27
know,
10:27
you've
10:27
got
10:27
the,
10:28
you've
10:28
got
10:28
the
10:28
tail
10:29
waters,
10:29
you've
10:29
got
10:29
the
10:29
freestones,
10:30
you've
10:30
got
10:31
small
10:31
walking
10:32
wade
10:32
spots
10:33
and
10:33
you
10:33
have,
10:33
you
10:33
know,
10:34
bigger
10:34
rivers,
10:34
you
10:34
can
10:34
float.
10:35
Just
10:35
so
10:35
much
10:36
variety.
10:37
Yeah.
10:37
And
10:38
so
10:38
do,
10:38
you
10:38
know,
10:39
do
10:39
you
10:39
have
10:39
any
10:39
Mentors
10:40
that
10:40
kind
10:40
of
10:40
mentored
10:40
you
10:41
on
10:41
your
10:41
guide
10:41
journey.
10:42
Anything
10:42
that
10:42
kind
10:42
of,
10:42
you
10:42
know,
10:43
someone
10:43
that
10:43
jumps
10:43
out
10:43
at
10:44
you
10:45
that
10:45
was
10:46
particularly
10:46
kind
10:46
of
10:46
fundamental
10:47
in
10:47
your
10:47
development.
10:49
Again,
10:50
most
10:50
of
10:50
it
10:50
was
10:50
just
10:51
learned
10:51
on
10:51
the
10:51
fly
10:52
and
10:52
through
10:53
experience
10:53
and
10:54
through
10:54
learning
10:55
from
10:55
mistakes
10:55
and
10:56
celebrating
10:56
the
10:56
successes.
10:57
One
10:58
thing
10:58
that
10:58
was
10:58
interesting
10:59
was
10:59
that
11:00
the
11:00
shop
11:00
I
11:00
was
11:01
working
11:01
with
11:02
actually
11:02
partnered
11:03
up
11:03
with
11:03
another
11:04
shop
11:04
in
11:05
Evergreen.
11:05
With
11:05
the
11:05
Blue
11:06
Quill
11:07
Famous
11:07
shop
11:08
in
11:08
Colorado,
11:09
we
11:09
actually
11:10
shared
11:10
guide
11:10
services.
11:11
We
11:11
had
11:11
one
11:12
guide
11:12
manager
11:13
that
11:13
managed
11:13
both
11:14
groups
11:15
of
11:15
guides
11:16
from
11:16
each
11:16
shop.
11:17
And
11:18
you
11:18
know
11:19
that
11:19
that
11:19
was
11:19
a
11:20
little
11:20
awkward
11:20
for
11:20
some
11:21
of
11:21
the
11:21
guides
11:21
because
11:21
it's
11:22
hard
11:22
not
11:22
to
11:22
look
11:23
at
11:23
those
11:23
guides
11:24
as,
11:24
as
11:25
competition.
11:27
But
11:27
I
11:28
quickly
11:28
saw
11:29
the
11:29
talent
11:30
of
11:30
the
11:30
guide
11:31
pool
11:31
at
11:31
the
11:32
Blue
11:32
Quill
11:32
and
11:34
instead
11:35
of
11:35
looking
11:35
at
11:35
this
11:36
as
11:36
competition,
11:37
who
11:37
really,
11:38
really
11:38
became
11:39
friends
11:39
and
11:39
embraced
11:40
as
11:40
comrades.
11:41
And
11:43
you
11:43
know,
11:43
two
11:43
that
11:43
come
11:44
to
11:44
mind,
11:44
those
11:44
back
11:45
in
11:45
those
11:45
days
11:45
was
11:46
Pat
11:46
Dorsey,
11:47
the
11:47
legendary
11:48
Pat
11:48
Dorsey
11:48
now
11:49
and,
11:50
and
11:51
Matt
11:51
captain
11:51
Matt
11:52
Miles.
11:52
You
11:52
know,
11:52
it
11:52
was
11:53
a
11:53
real
11:53
honor
11:54
to
11:54
share
11:54
trips
11:55
working
11:55
with
11:55
those
11:56
guys.
11:56
And
11:57
I'll
11:57
tell
11:57
you,
11:57
just
11:57
stopping
11:58
what
11:58
you're
11:58
doing
11:58
and
11:58
watching
11:59
those
11:59
guys
11:59
at
11:59
work
12:00
is,
12:01
is
12:02
just
12:02
a
12:02
remarkable
12:03
thing.
12:03
Those
12:04
talk
12:04
about
12:04
someone
12:04
who's
12:05
meant
12:05
to
12:05
be
12:06
out
12:06
on
12:07
the
12:07
water
12:07
with
12:07
customers.
12:08
They
12:08
are
12:08
guiding
12:09
machines.
12:10
And
12:10
honestly
12:11
I
12:11
learned
12:11
so
12:12
much
12:12
just
12:12
from
12:13
observing
12:13
them
12:14
and
12:14
watching
12:15
them.
12:15
Those
12:15
are
12:16
two
12:16
big
12:16
names
12:16
to
12:16
come
12:17
to
12:17
mind.
12:17
And
12:17
thankfully
12:18
we
12:18
are
12:18
still
12:18
very
12:19
close,
12:19
still
12:19
good
12:19
friends
12:20
now
12:20
and
12:20
they've
12:21
both
12:21
come
12:21
to
12:21
Brazil
12:23
many
12:23
times
12:23
with
12:24
their
12:24
customers.
12:25
Yeah,
12:25
it's
12:25
funny,
12:26
I
12:26
think
12:26
I
12:26
told
12:26
you
12:27
when
12:27
we
12:27
were
12:27
doing
12:27
our
12:27
pre
12:27
interview
12:28
call
12:28
that
12:28
I
12:28
actually,
12:29
I
12:29
grew
12:30
up
12:30
in
12:30
a
12:30
relatively
12:30
small
12:31
town
12:31
in
12:31
Virginia
12:32
and
12:32
I
12:32
actually
12:33
met
12:33
Pat
12:34
through
12:34
Matt
12:35
at
12:35
like
12:35
an
12:35
itty
12:35
bitty
12:36
library
12:36
at
12:36
a
12:36
TU
12:37
meeting.
12:39
That's
12:39
right,
12:39
I
12:40
remember
12:40
that.
12:40
Yeah.
12:41
But
12:41
you
12:41
know,
12:42
it's
12:42
an
12:42
interesting
12:42
thing
12:42
too
12:43
because
12:43
I
12:43
would
12:43
flip
12:43
that
12:43
around
12:44
like
12:44
you
12:44
know,
12:46
when
12:46
you,
12:46
when
12:46
you're
12:47
a
12:47
client
12:47
and
12:47
you
12:47
fish
12:48
with
12:48
guides
12:48
that
12:48
have
12:49
that
12:49
network,
12:50
it's
12:51
really
12:51
helpful,
12:51
you
12:52
know,
12:52
and
12:52
you
12:52
see
12:52
that
12:52
on
12:52
like
12:53
a
12:53
multi
12:53
day
12:54
experience
12:55
where
12:56
you're
12:56
able
12:56
to
12:56
kind
12:56
of,
12:57
you
12:57
hear
12:57
your
12:57
guys
12:57
talking
12:58
to
12:58
his
12:58
guys
12:58
and
12:58
you're
12:59
kind
12:59
of
12:59
figuring
12:59
out
12:59
where
12:59
to
12:59
fish
13:00
and
13:00
what's
13:00
working,
13:02
you
13:02
know,
13:02
which
13:02
at
13:03
least
13:03
from
13:03
my
13:03
perspective,
13:04
I
13:04
always
13:04
say,
13:04
you
13:04
know,
13:04
you
13:04
can't
13:05
control
13:05
the
13:05
catching,
13:06
but
13:06
you
13:06
can
13:06
control,
13:07
you
13:08
know,
13:08
having
13:08
everything
13:08
that
13:08
can
13:09
be
13:09
humanly
13:09
possible
13:10
done
13:10
for
13:10
you
13:10
to
13:10
put
13:11
you
13:11
on
13:11
fish.
13:11
That's
13:12
right,
13:12
absolutely.
13:13
So,
13:14
so
13:14
you're
13:14
having
13:14
the
13:15
time
13:15
of
13:15
your
13:15
life
13:16
in
13:16
Colorado.
13:17
Right.
13:17
You
13:18
know,
13:18
and
13:18
you
13:19
don't
13:19
think
13:19
it
13:19
can
13:19
get
13:19
any
13:19
better.
13:20
And
13:21
then
13:21
all
13:21
of
13:21
a
13:21
sudden
13:22
you're
13:22
like,
13:22
I
13:22
want
13:22
to
13:22
do
13:22
exotic
13:23
destination
13:24
travel.
13:24
How
13:24
did
13:24
that
13:24
come
13:25
about?
13:25
That's
13:26
right.
13:26
Well,
13:28
you
13:28
know,
13:28
I've
13:29
never
13:29
been
13:29
a
13:30
person
13:30
of
13:30
means
13:31
and
13:31
there
13:31
were
13:32
a
13:32
lot
13:32
of
13:32
places
13:32
that
13:32
I
13:32
wanted
13:33
to
13:33
go,
13:33
but
13:34
I
13:34
certainly
13:34
could
13:34
not
13:35
personally
13:35
afford
13:36
to
13:36
go
13:36
to
13:37
those.
13:38
And.
13:38
But
13:38
the
13:38
one
13:38
thing
13:39
that
13:39
I
13:39
did
13:39
have
13:39
was
13:40
a
13:40
client
13:40
list
13:40
and
13:41
just
13:41
good,
13:42
really
13:43
good
13:43
friends
13:44
that
13:44
were
13:44
customers
13:45
that,
13:45
you
13:45
know,
13:46
it's
13:46
just
13:46
like,
13:46
hey,
13:46
I
13:46
know
13:47
you
13:47
guys
13:47
want
13:47
to
13:47
travel,
13:48
I
13:48
want
13:49
to
13:49
travel.
13:49
Where
13:49
do
13:50
you
13:50
want
13:50
to
13:50
go?
13:51
And
13:52
let's
13:52
pick
13:53
a
13:53
destination
13:54
and
13:55
let
13:55
me
13:55
plan
13:55
the
13:56
whole
13:56
thing.
13:56
This
13:56
is
13:57
before
13:58
hosted
13:59
trip
13:59
ever
13:59
really
14:00
horsed
14:00
travel
14:01
was
14:01
a
14:01
thing.
14:03
It
14:03
just
14:03
seemed
14:03
like
14:03
an
14:04
easy
14:04
option
14:04
for
14:04
me
14:05
because,
14:05
you
14:05
know,
14:05
being
14:06
in
14:06
Colorado
14:06
is
14:07
not
14:07
a
14:07
year
14:07
round,
14:09
sustainable
14:09
year
14:10
round
14:10
business.
14:10
So
14:11
being
14:11
able
14:12
to
14:12
sneak
14:12
away
14:12
and
14:13
do
14:13
something
14:13
down
14:13
in
14:13
Baja
14:14
or
14:14
go
14:14
up
14:14
to
14:14
Alaska
14:15
or
14:15
something
14:16
like
14:16
that,
14:16
or
14:16
trip
14:17
to
14:17
Montana
14:18
was,
14:18
was
14:18
something
14:19
that
14:19
was
14:19
very
14:19
achievable.
14:20
And
14:21
it
14:21
was
14:21
wonderful
14:21
because
14:22
it
14:22
certainly
14:23
can.
14:23
It's
14:24
a
14:24
great
14:24
opportunity
14:24
to
14:24
build
14:25
on
14:25
that
14:25
relationship
14:26
with
14:26
your
14:27
customers
14:27
and
14:27
it
14:28
really
14:29
expands
14:30
your
14:30
knowledge.
14:31
I've
14:32
always
14:32
felt
14:34
like
14:34
travel
14:35
has
14:35
been
14:35
incredibly
14:36
important
14:36
to
14:36
me
14:37
and
14:37
seeing
14:37
new,
14:38
new
14:38
people,
14:38
seeing
14:39
new
14:39
lands,
14:39
new
14:40
cultures,
14:41
personally,
14:43
honestly,
14:44
that's
14:44
one
14:44
thing
14:44
I
14:44
really
14:45
live
14:45
for.
14:45
I,
14:45
I
14:46
would
14:46
much
14:46
rather
14:46
live
14:46
in
14:47
a
14:47
very
14:47
small
14:47
house
14:48
and
14:48
drive
14:49
an
14:49
old
14:49
car
14:49
if
14:50
I
14:50
can
14:50
afford
14:51
to
14:51
go
14:51
and
14:51
travel.
14:52
And
14:54
so
14:54
the
14:54
destination
14:55
fishing
14:55
is
14:56
certainly
14:56
something
14:56
that
14:56
fit
14:57
in
14:57
really
14:57
well
14:57
with,
14:58
with
14:58
what
14:58
was
14:58
important
14:59
to
14:59
me.
15:00
Yeah,
15:01
it's
15:01
funny
15:01
as
15:01
you
15:01
were
15:01
telling
15:02
me
15:02
that
15:02
it
15:02
makes
15:02
me
15:02
think,
15:02
I
15:03
think,
15:03
you
15:03
know,
15:03
Courier
15:04
kind
15:04
of
15:04
got
15:04
into
15:04
the
15:04
destination,
15:05
traveled
15:05
the
15:05
same
15:05
way
15:06
because
15:06
he
15:06
didn't
15:06
want
15:06
to
15:06
stay
15:06
in
15:07
Jackson
15:07
and
15:07
tune
15:07
skis
15:08
all
15:08
winter.
15:08
Yep,
15:09
precisely.
15:10
That's
15:10
right.
15:13
And
15:13
so,
15:13
you
15:13
know,
15:13
obviously
15:14
there's
15:14
a
15:14
huge
15:14
quantum
15:15
leap
15:15
to,
15:15
you
15:16
know,
15:16
starting
15:16
nomadic
15:17
waters.
15:17
And
15:17
I
15:17
know
15:17
when
15:18
you
15:18
started,
15:18
I
15:18
mean,
15:18
that
15:18
was
15:19
the
15:19
house
15:19
ship
15:19
option,
15:20
right?
15:20
Yes.
15:21
And
15:22
so
15:22
that's
15:22
not
15:22
just
15:22
like,
15:23
hey,
15:23
let's
15:23
go
15:23
down
15:23
here.
15:23
And
15:24
it's
15:24
not
15:24
like
15:24
going
15:24
to,
15:25
you
15:26
know,
15:26
an
15:26
estancia
15:27
and
15:27
Argentina
15:28
and
15:28
everything's
15:28
kind
15:28
of
15:28
covered.
15:29
So
15:29
tell
15:29
me
15:29
a
15:29
little
15:30
bit
15:30
about
15:30
like
15:30
the
15:30
idea
15:31
for
15:31
forming
15:32
nomadic
15:32
waters
15:33
and
15:33
kind
15:33
of
15:33
a
15:33
little
15:33
bit
15:33
about
15:34
kind
15:34
of
15:34
building
15:34
out
15:34
the
15:35
business.
15:36
Sure.
15:37
Well,
15:38
I'll
15:38
step
15:38
back
15:39
a
15:39
little
15:39
bit.
15:39
You
15:40
know,
15:40
as
15:40
much
15:41
as
15:41
I
15:41
loved
15:41
guiding,
15:42
it
15:42
really
15:42
wasn't
15:43
an
15:43
opportunity
15:43
for
15:44
me
15:44
to
15:44
make
15:44
much
15:44
of
15:45
a
15:45
living
15:45
financially.
15:46
And
15:47
so
15:47
I
15:48
moved
15:48
up
15:48
into
15:48
more
15:48
of
15:49
the
15:49
corporate
15:50
part
15:51
of
15:51
the
15:51
industry
15:52
and
15:53
worked
15:54
at
15:54
Patagonia
15:55
and
15:55
Had
15:55
a
15:55
wonderful
15:55
time
15:56
working
15:56
with
15:56
Patagonia
15:57
Corporate.
15:58
And
15:58
then
15:58
I
15:58
was
15:58
recruited
15:58
by
15:59
another
15:59
company
16:00
and
16:01
worked
16:01
with
16:01
them
16:01
for
16:01
a
16:01
couple
16:01
of
16:01
years.
16:02
And
16:03
that
16:03
just
16:03
turned
16:03
out
16:03
to
16:03
be
16:04
an
16:04
extremely
16:04
difficult,
16:07
difficult
16:07
job.
16:08
And
16:08
it
16:08
just
16:08
was
16:09
not
16:09
the
16:09
right
16:09
fit.
16:10
And
16:10
in
16:11
fact,
16:11
the
16:12
separation
16:12
was
16:13
so
16:14
difficult,
16:14
frankly,
16:15
I
16:15
actually
16:15
stopped
16:16
fishing
16:16
altogether.
16:17
I
16:17
was
16:17
living
16:18
in
16:18
Montana,
16:18
I
16:19
mean,
16:19
living
16:19
right
16:19
on
16:19
the
16:20
Clarks
16:20
Fork,
16:20
and
16:21
could
16:21
care
16:21
less
16:21
about
16:22
fishing.
16:23
It
16:23
was
16:23
a
16:23
really,
16:24
really
16:24
tough
16:24
time
16:25
in
16:26
my
16:26
life.
16:26
So
16:26
I
16:26
stopped
16:27
fishing
16:27
for
16:27
a
16:27
few
16:27
years.
16:28
It
16:28
was
16:28
always
16:28
still
16:28
in
16:28
the
16:29
back
16:29
of
16:29
my
16:29
mind.
16:29
It
16:29
was
16:30
such
16:30
a
16:30
big,
16:30
big
16:31
part
16:31
of
16:31
who
16:31
I
16:31
was.
16:32
But
16:33
I
16:33
just
16:33
kind
16:33
of
16:33
had
16:33
to
16:34
process.
16:36
Process
16:36
things,
16:37
and
16:37
I
16:37
really
16:38
wanted
16:38
to
16:38
do
16:38
something
16:38
on
16:39
my
16:39
own.
16:39
I
16:39
really
16:40
wanted
16:40
to
16:40
call
16:41
my
16:41
own
16:41
shots
16:43
and
16:44
really
16:45
make
16:45
sure
16:45
that
16:46
people
16:47
were
16:47
taken
16:48
well
16:48
care
16:49
of
16:49
and
16:50
just
16:51
being
16:51
fully
16:51
responsible
16:52
for.
16:52
For
16:52
what
16:53
was
16:53
going
16:53
on.
16:53
And
16:54
so
16:55
as
16:55
I
16:55
was
16:55
trying
16:55
to
16:56
find
16:56
the
16:56
next
16:56
opportunity,
16:58
I
16:58
actually
16:58
started
16:59
to
16:59
do
16:59
some
16:59
humanitarian
17:00
work
17:00
down
17:00
in
17:00
Brazil.
17:01
My.
17:02
My
17:02
church
17:02
was
17:02
doing
17:03
some
17:03
trips
17:03
down
17:03
there,
17:04
taking
17:04
doctors
17:05
and
17:05
eye
17:05
surgeons
17:07
down
17:07
there.
17:08
And
17:08
what
17:08
we
17:08
would
17:08
do
17:09
is
17:09
we
17:09
would
17:09
go
17:10
on
17:10
a
17:10
mothership
17:11
during
17:12
high
17:12
water,
17:13
and
17:14
during
17:14
high
17:14
water,
17:14
we
17:15
could
17:15
get
17:15
those
17:15
motherships
17:16
way
17:16
up
17:17
back
17:17
into
17:17
the
17:18
far
17:18
furthest
17:19
reaches
17:19
of
17:19
the
17:19
jungles
17:20
and
17:21
meet
17:21
with
17:21
communities
17:22
and
17:22
work
17:22
with
17:22
communities.
17:23
And,
17:24
you
17:25
know,
17:25
there's
17:25
a
17:25
lot
17:25
of
17:25
issues
17:26
up
17:26
there
17:26
that.
17:26
That.
17:27
That
17:27
we
17:27
could
17:28
help
17:28
with.
17:28
And
17:31
that
17:31
was
17:31
an
17:31
important
17:32
time
17:32
for
17:32
me
17:32
because
17:32
it
17:33
just.
17:33
It
17:33
really
17:34
gave
17:35
me
17:35
some
17:35
fulfillment
17:35
that
17:36
I
17:36
was
17:36
looking
17:36
for,
17:37
finding
17:37
a
17:38
way
17:38
that
17:38
I
17:38
could
17:38
give
17:38
back.
17:39
But
17:40
it
17:40
didn't
17:40
take
17:40
long
17:40
at
17:41
all.
17:41
It
17:41
took
17:42
minutes
17:42
for
17:43
me
17:43
to
17:43
start
17:43
looking
17:44
at
17:44
that
17:44
water
17:45
and
17:45
looking
17:45
at
17:45
the
17:45
opportunities
17:46
and
17:46
saying,
17:47
wow,
17:47
I'm
17:48
in
17:48
the
17:48
Amazon
17:48
jungle.
17:49
This
17:49
water
17:49
is
17:50
absolutely
17:51
full
17:52
of
17:53
life.
17:54
And
17:55
I
17:55
really
17:55
got
17:56
to
17:56
know
17:57
the
17:57
Brazilian
17:58
crew,
17:58
the
17:58
people
17:59
that
17:59
were
17:59
really
17:59
making
18:00
those
18:00
trips
18:00
happen.
18:02
And
18:03
I
18:03
started
18:03
to
18:03
think
18:03
about
18:03
it.
18:04
It's
18:04
like,
18:04
here's
18:04
a
18:04
crew
18:05
who's
18:06
hosted
18:06
American
18:07
doctors,
18:07
some
18:08
of
18:08
them,
18:08
for.
18:08
For
18:08
almost
18:09
20
18:09
years.
18:11
They've
18:12
been
18:12
to
18:12
the.
18:12
Some
18:13
of
18:13
the
18:13
most
18:13
remote
18:14
regions
18:14
of
18:14
the
18:15
areas.
18:15
They've
18:16
got
18:16
really
18:17
strong
18:17
relationships
18:18
with
18:18
these
18:19
communities.
18:20
And
18:21
frankly,
18:22
they've
18:22
seen
18:22
a
18:23
lot.
18:23
All
18:23
the
18:23
mistakes
18:24
that
18:24
tourists
18:24
make.
18:25
You
18:25
know,
18:25
for
18:25
some
18:25
reason,
18:26
tourists,
18:26
they
18:26
kind
18:27
of
18:27
check
18:27
their
18:27
brains
18:27
at
18:28
the
18:28
door
18:28
when
18:28
they
18:28
go
18:28
on
18:28
a
18:28
big
18:29
trip,
18:30
and
18:30
they're
18:31
not
18:31
really
18:32
observant,
18:34
and
18:34
they
18:34
make
18:35
a
18:35
lot
18:35
of
18:35
mistakes.
18:35
And
18:36
I
18:36
watched
18:36
this
18:37
crew
18:38
handle
18:38
those
18:38
different
18:39
scenarios
18:39
and
18:40
just
18:40
saw
18:40
them
18:41
and.
18:42
And
18:42
really,
18:42
the
18:42
bottom
18:43
line
18:43
was
18:43
I
18:43
suddenly
18:44
had
18:44
a
18:44
crew
18:44
of
18:45
friends
18:45
that
18:46
I
18:46
could
18:47
trust.
18:49
The
18:49
number
18:49
one
18:50
single
18:50
most
18:51
challenging
18:52
thing
18:52
to
18:52
Find
18:53
to
18:53
starting
18:54
an
18:54
operation
18:54
in
18:54
a
18:55
place
18:55
like
18:55
Brazil
18:56
is
18:56
finding
18:57
a
18:57
crew
18:57
like
18:57
that
18:58
that
18:58
are
18:58
like
18:59
minded,
18:59
that
18:59
I
18:59
could
18:59
trust.
19:00
And
19:01
so
19:01
the
19:01
more
19:01
I,
19:01
I
19:02
talked
19:02
to
19:02
them
19:02
and
19:02
I
19:03
realized
19:03
that,
19:04
well,
19:04
wait
19:04
a
19:04
minute,
19:04
this
19:05
is,
19:05
this
19:06
is
19:06
all
19:06
work
19:07
for
19:07
you
19:07
guys
19:07
during
19:07
the
19:08
high
19:08
water
19:08
season.
19:09
What
19:09
are
19:09
you
19:09
doing
19:09
during
19:10
the
19:10
low
19:10
water
19:10
season?
19:11
Well,
19:12
they're
19:12
unemployed
19:13
during
19:13
the
19:13
low
19:13
water
19:14
season.
19:14
You
19:14
know,
19:14
there
19:14
aren't
19:15
a
19:15
lot
19:15
of
19:15
jobs
19:15
in
19:15
Brazil
19:16
and
19:17
so
19:17
they
19:17
were
19:18
literally
19:18
working
19:18
three,
19:19
four
19:19
months
19:19
a
19:20
year
19:20
and
19:20
they're
19:20
just
19:20
trying
19:21
to
19:21
pick
19:21
up
19:21
odd
19:21
jobs
19:22
after
19:22
that.
19:23
Well,
19:23
low
19:24
water
19:24
season
19:24
is
19:25
fishing
19:25
season
19:26
in
19:26
Brazil.
19:28
And
19:28
it
19:28
didn't
19:29
take
19:29
long
19:29
at
19:29
all
19:29
for
19:30
me
19:30
to
19:30
connect
19:30
those
19:31
dots.
19:31
And
19:32
so
19:33
I
19:33
pulled
19:33
a
19:33
handful
19:34
of
19:34
that
19:34
crew
19:35
and
19:36
just
19:36
made
19:36
a
19:36
presentation
19:37
to
19:37
them.
19:37
I'm
19:37
like,
19:38
look,
19:38
this
19:39
is
19:39
my
19:39
background,
19:40
this
19:40
is
19:40
what
19:40
I'm
19:40
good
19:41
at.
19:43
Would
19:44
you
19:44
be
19:44
interested
19:45
in
19:45
letting
19:46
me
19:47
teach
19:47
you
19:48
how
19:48
to
19:48
work
19:49
with
19:49
fly
19:49
fishing
19:50
customers
19:51
and
19:52
you
19:52
can
19:53
teach
19:53
me
19:54
how
19:54
to
19:54
run
19:54
operations
19:55
in
19:56
Brazil?
19:57
And
19:57
they
19:57
loved
19:57
it.
19:58
It
19:58
is
19:58
a
19:58
great
19:59
solution
19:59
for
19:59
them
19:59
because
20:00
essentially
20:00
I'm
20:01
doubling
20:01
their
20:01
income
20:02
and
20:02
they're
20:03
learning
20:03
a
20:04
new
20:04
skill.
20:06
It
20:07
gives
20:07
them
20:07
opportunities
20:08
to
20:08
work
20:08
with
20:08
foreigners,
20:09
which
20:09
gives
20:10
them
20:10
more
20:10
opportunities
20:11
to
20:11
find
20:11
work
20:11
in
20:12
Brazil.
20:12
It
20:13
was
20:13
just
20:13
a
20:13
win,
20:13
win,
20:13
win
20:13
as
20:14
far
20:14
as
20:14
I
20:14
could
20:14
see.
20:15
And
20:15
then
20:16
as
20:16
I
20:16
looked
20:16
at
20:16
that
20:17
water,
20:18
oh
20:18
man,
20:19
the
20:19
opportunities
20:20
for
20:20
that
20:20
water,
20:22
it's
20:22
just
20:22
the
20:22
kind
20:22
of
20:23
place
20:23
where
20:23
when
20:23
you
20:24
go,
20:24
it's
20:24
really
20:24
hard
20:25
to
20:25
come
20:25
back.
20:26
It's
20:27
just
20:27
an
20:27
incredible
20:28
place.
20:28
And
20:30
so
20:30
we
20:31
had
20:31
in
20:31
many
20:31
ways,
20:33
many
20:33
of
20:34
the
20:34
essentials
20:35
already
20:35
figured
20:35
out
20:36
because
20:36
this
20:36
crew's
20:37
already
20:37
done
20:37
so
20:38
many
20:38
mothership
20:39
trips.
20:40
And
20:41
we
20:42
knew
20:42
that
20:43
that
20:43
was
20:43
the
20:43
best
20:43
way
20:44
for
20:44
us
20:44
to
20:44
go.
20:44
At
20:45
the
20:45
time,
20:46
um,
20:47
we
20:47
met
20:47
with
20:48
communities
20:49
and
20:50
you
20:50
know,
20:51
one
20:51
of
20:51
our
20:51
challenges
20:52
was
20:54
finding
20:54
a
20:55
community
20:55
that,
20:56
that
20:56
accepted
20:57
our
20:57
help,
20:57
that
20:58
needed
20:58
our
20:58
help,
20:58
but
20:59
also
20:59
had
20:59
a
20:59
quality
21:00
fishery.
21:01
They
21:01
were
21:02
playing
21:02
communities
21:02
that
21:02
wanted
21:03
us
21:03
to
21:03
come
21:03
and
21:03
help
21:03
them,
21:04
but
21:05
we
21:05
needed
21:05
to
21:05
work
21:06
in
21:06
a
21:06
place
21:06
where
21:06
we
21:06
could
21:07
also
21:07
bring
21:07
our
21:07
customers.
21:08
And
21:08
that,
21:08
that
21:08
took
21:09
a
21:09
couple
21:09
years,
21:11
actually
21:11
took
21:11
about
21:11
three
21:12
years
21:12
of
21:13
exploring
21:15
and
21:16
we
21:17
finally
21:18
found
21:18
the
21:18
water
21:19
that
21:19
we
21:19
wanted
21:19
to
21:19
work
21:19
in.
21:20
We
21:20
found
21:20
the
21:20
communities
21:21
we
21:21
wanted
21:21
to
21:22
support.
21:23
And
21:23
in
21:23
2014
21:24
we
21:24
had
21:25
our
21:25
first
21:26
customers.
21:28
Very,
21:29
very
21:29
neat.
21:29
So
21:29
you
21:30
really
21:30
kind
21:30
of
21:30
started
21:30
kind
21:31
of
21:31
building
21:31
out
21:31
the
21:31
fishing
21:32
operation.
21:32
What
21:32
about
21:33
2010?
21:33
Something
21:33
like
21:34
that?
21:34
Yes.
21:35
Yeah,
21:35
exactly.
21:36
Interesting.
21:37
And
21:37
so
21:37
of
21:37
course
21:37
I
21:37
always
21:38
love
21:38
to
21:38
talk
21:38
to
21:39
like
21:39
startups
21:39
and
21:39
all
21:39
kinds
21:40
of
21:40
stuff.
21:40
I
21:40
always
21:40
like
21:40
to
21:41
hear,
21:41
you
21:42
know,
21:42
the
21:42
biggest
21:42
surprise
21:43
or
21:43
challenge
21:43
that
21:43
had
21:43
you
21:44
pulling
21:44
your
21:44
hair
21:44
out
21:44
in
21:44
the
21:45
early
21:45
days
21:45
in
21:45
nomadic
21:46
waters.
21:47
Yeah,
21:48
Well,
21:49
I
21:49
think,
21:50
I
21:51
think
21:51
it
21:51
was
21:51
a
21:51
bit
21:51
naive.
21:52
I
21:52
think
21:52
I
21:53
made
21:53
the
21:53
assumption
21:54
that
21:54
every
21:54
fly
21:54
fisherman
21:55
wanted
21:55
to
21:55
go
21:55
to
21:55
the
21:55
Amazon
21:56
and
21:56
fish
21:56
in
21:56
the
21:56
jungle,
21:57
because
21:58
why
21:58
wouldn't
21:58
they?
21:58
You
21:58
know,
21:59
I've
21:59
seen
21:59
it,
21:59
so
21:59
why
21:59
wouldn't
22:00
they
22:00
all
22:00
want
22:00
to
22:00
share
22:00
the
22:01
same
22:01
experience?
22:02
As
22:03
I
22:03
started
22:04
to
22:04
talk
22:04
to
22:04
prospects,
22:05
I
22:06
quickly
22:06
realized
22:07
that
22:07
it's
22:08
about
22:08
10%
22:09
of
22:09
the
22:09
people
22:09
that
22:09
I
22:09
talk
22:10
to
22:10
are
22:11
remotely
22:12
interested
22:12
in
22:12
coming
22:13
to
22:13
the
22:13
Amazon.
22:14
Now.
22:14
This
22:15
is
22:15
back
22:15
in
22:15
20,
22:16
you
22:16
know,
22:16
10,
22:17
11
22:17
and
22:18
12.
22:19
It
22:19
was
22:19
definitely
22:20
way
22:20
off
22:20
the
22:20
radar
22:21
at
22:21
that
22:21
time.
22:22
It
22:23
is
22:23
far
22:23
more
22:23
on
22:23
the
22:24
radar
22:24
now.
22:25
But
22:25
you
22:26
know,
22:26
at
22:26
that
22:26
time
22:26
that
22:26
was
22:26
something
22:27
that
22:27
really
22:27
surprised
22:27
me.
22:28
That
22:28
was
22:28
a
22:28
big
22:28
challenge.
22:28
You
22:28
know,
22:29
if
22:29
you
22:29
don't
22:29
have
22:29
customers,
22:30
you
22:30
can't,
22:32
you're
22:32
dead
22:32
in
22:32
the
22:32
water.
22:33
And
22:33
so
22:34
that,
22:34
that
22:34
was
22:34
something
22:34
where
22:35
I
22:35
really
22:35
had
22:35
to
22:36
say,
22:36
okay,
22:37
I
22:37
just
22:37
have
22:38
to
22:38
accept
22:38
the
22:38
fact
22:38
that
22:39
every
22:39
single
22:39
person
22:39
that
22:40
I
22:40
speak
22:40
to
22:41
about
22:41
coming
22:41
to
22:41
the
22:42
Amazon
22:42
has
22:43
actually
22:43
never
22:43
even
22:43
considered
22:44
or
22:44
thought
22:44
about
22:45
coming
22:45
to
22:45
the
22:45
Amazon.
22:46
And
22:47
that
22:47
just
22:47
means
22:48
it's
22:48
a
22:48
lot
22:49
more
22:49
work
22:50
on
22:51
the
22:51
sales
22:51
side.
22:52
But
22:53
the
22:53
good
22:53
thing
22:53
is,
22:53
is
22:54
that
22:54
the
22:54
people
22:54
that
22:54
came
22:56
were
22:57
the
22:57
right
22:57
people.
22:57
You
22:58
know,
22:58
I,
22:59
the
22:59
worst
22:59
thing
22:59
to
22:59
do
22:59
is
23:00
to
23:00
have
23:00
someone
23:00
come
23:01
down
23:01
and
23:01
it's
23:01
just
23:01
not
23:02
their
23:02
kind
23:02
of
23:02
experience.
23:03
And
23:03
so
23:04
the
23:04
people
23:05
who
23:05
came
23:05
down
23:07
came
23:07
back
23:08
and
23:09
brought
23:09
their
23:09
friends
23:10
and
23:10
then
23:10
those
23:11
friends
23:11
brought
23:11
their
23:11
friends.
23:12
And
23:13
you
23:13
know,
23:13
we,
23:13
we
23:14
really
23:14
have
23:14
a
23:14
minimal
23:16
marketing
23:16
budget.
23:17
But
23:17
you
23:17
know,
23:18
this
23:18
is
23:18
our
23:19
2024
23:20
marks
23:21
our
23:21
10th
23:22
anniversary
23:22
of
23:23
actually
23:23
hosting
23:23
customers
23:24
in
23:25
the
23:26
Amazon.
23:26
And
23:27
you
23:27
know,
23:27
we
23:27
still
23:28
have
23:28
people
23:28
coming
23:29
from
23:29
that
23:29
very
23:29
first
23:30
year,
23:30
which
23:31
is,
23:31
it
23:31
still
23:31
just
23:32
blows
23:32
me
23:32
away.
23:33
We
23:33
are
23:34
so
23:34
grateful
23:35
for
23:35
them.
23:35
But
23:35
you
23:35
know,
23:36
those
23:36
people
23:36
have
23:36
all
23:36
brought
23:37
their
23:37
friends
23:37
and
23:37
that's,
23:38
that's
23:38
really
23:38
how
23:38
we've
23:39
grown.
23:40
But
23:40
man,
23:40
it
23:41
was
23:41
a
23:41
slow
23:42
start.
23:43
Yeah,
23:44
it's
23:44
interesting.
23:44
I
23:44
mean,
23:44
you
23:45
know,
23:45
I
23:45
think
23:45
about
23:45
it
23:45
and
23:45
you
23:46
kind
23:46
of
23:46
think
23:46
about
23:46
kind
23:46
of,
23:46
let's
23:47
just
23:47
kind
23:47
of
23:47
say
23:47
the
23:48
predator
23:48
fly
23:48
game,
23:49
you
23:49
know,
23:50
15
23:50
years
23:50
ago,
23:51
I
23:51
mean,
23:51
and
23:51
there
23:51
were
23:51
people
23:52
doing
23:52
it,
23:52
but
23:52
it's
23:53
not
23:53
like
23:53
it
23:53
is
23:53
today.
23:55
And
23:56
you
23:56
know,
23:56
particularly
23:56
for
23:57
trouty
23:57
anglers,
23:58
I
23:58
mean,
23:58
that
23:58
streamer
23:59
skill
23:59
set
23:59
is
23:59
kind
24:00
of
24:00
usually
24:00
not
24:01
like
24:01
the
24:01
core
24:01
of
24:02
what
24:02
they
24:02
do.
24:02
Right?
24:03
Absolutely.
24:04
Yes.
24:04
Yeah.
24:05
You
24:06
know,
24:06
we
24:06
would,
24:06
we
24:06
would,
24:07
I
24:07
would
24:07
try
24:07
to
24:07
think
24:07
about
24:08
what
24:08
guides
24:09
are,
24:12
are
24:13
having
24:13
their
24:13
customers
24:13
throw
24:14
in
24:14
streamers.
24:14
You
24:15
know,
24:15
maybe
24:15
I
24:15
could
24:15
start
24:16
with
24:16
them
24:16
and
24:16
see
24:17
if,
24:17
you
24:17
know,
24:18
maybe
24:19
a
24:19
warm
24:19
water
24:19
fish
24:19
would
24:20
be
24:20
something
24:20
they'd
24:20
be
24:20
interested
24:21
in.
24:21
And
24:21
then
24:23
what
24:23
would
24:23
you
24:23
think
24:23
about
24:24
an
24:24
exotic,
24:24
just
24:24
A
24:25
big
24:25
trip
24:25
down
24:25
the
24:26
jungles.
24:26
And,
24:26
you
24:27
know,
24:27
it
24:27
was,
24:27
at
24:28
that
24:28
time,
24:28
it
24:28
was
24:28
just
24:29
like
24:29
pulling
24:29
teeth,
24:29
but
24:30
certainly,
24:31
certainly
24:31
now.
24:31
And
24:32
I
24:32
think.
24:34
I
24:34
don't
24:34
know
24:34
if.
24:35
If
24:36
the
24:36
higher
24:36
populations
24:37
of
24:37
anglers
24:38
on
24:38
the
24:38
rivers,
24:39
you
24:39
know,
24:39
our
24:40
rivers
24:40
are
24:40
changing
24:40
all
24:41
around
24:41
the
24:41
world.
24:42
I
24:42
think
24:44
people
24:44
are
24:45
maybe
24:45
looking
24:45
for
24:45
more
24:46
solitude
24:47
and,
24:48
and
24:48
if
24:48
we
24:48
can
24:49
share
24:49
with
24:49
them
24:49
how
24:50
really
24:51
comfortable
24:51
they
24:51
can
24:52
be
24:52
in
24:52
our
24:52
situation
24:53
and
24:53
we
24:54
can
24:54
guarantee
24:54
solitude,
24:55
you
24:55
know,
24:56
you
24:56
won't
24:56
be.
24:56
There
24:56
will
24:57
be
24:57
another
24:57
angler
24:57
for
24:58
miles.
25:00
I
25:00
think
25:01
those
25:02
types
25:02
of
25:02
things
25:02
start
25:03
to
25:03
be
25:03
a
25:03
little
25:03
more
25:04
attractive
25:05
and
25:05
interesting
25:05
to
25:06
someone
25:06
who
25:06
may
25:06
not
25:06
have
25:07
originally
25:08
thought
25:08
of
25:08
coming
25:09
to
25:09
the
25:09
jungles,
25:10
but
25:11
it's
25:11
been
25:11
interesting
25:12
to
25:12
see
25:13
how
25:14
just
25:15
the
25:15
crowds
25:16
on
25:16
our
25:16
rivers
25:17
in
25:17
the
25:17
States
25:17
have
25:18
really
25:19
certainly
25:20
had
25:20
a
25:21
positive
25:21
impact
25:21
on
25:22
the
25:22
destination
25:22
travel
25:23
game.
25:25
Interesting.
25:25
And
25:25
I
25:25
know
25:26
you
25:26
don't
25:26
like
25:26
bucket
25:27
list
25:28
describing
25:29
traveling
25:29
to
25:29
the
25:29
Amazon,
25:30
but
25:31
kind
25:31
of
25:31
building
25:31
out
25:31
kind
25:32
of
25:32
on
25:32
the
25:32
previous
25:32
answer,
25:33
who
25:33
is.
25:35
Because
25:35
people
25:35
are
25:35
like,
25:36
gee,
25:36
is
25:36
this
25:36
a
25:36
good
25:36
trip
25:36
for
25:37
me?
25:39
Kind
25:39
of.
25:39
What's
25:39
the
25:40
profile,
25:40
the
25:40
angler
25:41
who
25:42
can
25:43
come
25:43
to
25:43
the
25:43
Amazon
25:44
and
25:44
be
25:44
happy
25:44
and
25:45
successful?
25:46
Oh,
25:46
that's
25:47
such
25:47
a
25:47
good
25:47
question.
25:48
That's
25:48
an
25:48
important
25:48
question.
25:50
You
25:50
know,
25:50
people
25:51
who
25:51
are
25:53
real
25:53
adventurers,
25:54
I
25:54
mean,
25:54
that
25:54
just
25:55
seems
25:55
like
25:55
an
25:55
obvious
25:55
answer.
25:56
But
25:57
people
25:57
who
25:57
are
25:57
willing
25:58
to
25:58
just
25:58
go
25:58
out
25:58
and
25:59
explore
25:59
with
25:59
us,
26:01
they're
26:01
really
26:02
excited
26:02
about,
26:03
hey,
26:04
see
26:04
that
26:04
lagoon?
26:05
There's
26:05
a
26:05
lagoon
26:06
on
26:06
the
26:06
other
26:06
side
26:06
of
26:07
that
26:07
little
26:07
creek.
26:07
And
26:08
if
26:08
we
26:08
cut
26:08
our
26:09
way
26:09
into
26:09
there,
26:10
there's
26:11
a
26:11
really
26:11
high
26:11
chance
26:12
that
26:12
there's
26:12
big,
26:12
big
26:12
fish
26:12
in
26:13
there.
26:13
But
26:13
there's
26:13
also
26:13
a
26:13
chance
26:14
that
26:14
there's
26:14
nothing
26:14
in
26:14
there.
26:16
Go
26:16
explore.
26:17
And
26:17
some
26:17
people
26:18
are
26:18
energized
26:19
by
26:19
that
26:21
because
26:21
that's
26:21
part
26:22
of
26:22
a
26:22
story
26:22
that's
26:22
a
26:23
big
26:23
adventure,
26:24
and
26:24
it's
26:24
something
26:24
at
26:24
the
26:24
end
26:25
of
26:25
the
26:25
day
26:25
that
26:25
they
26:25
can
26:26
come
26:26
back
26:26
and
26:26
share
26:26
with
26:26
their
26:26
buddies.
26:27
Like,
26:27
man,
26:27
you're
26:27
not
26:27
going
26:27
to
26:28
believe
26:28
what
26:28
we
26:28
did.
26:29
We
26:29
got
26:29
in
26:29
there
26:30
and
26:30
we
26:30
saw
26:30
monkeys
26:31
and
26:31
we
26:31
saw
26:31
macaws
26:32
and
26:32
there
26:33
were
26:33
three
26:33
big
26:33
fish
26:33
in
26:34
there.
26:34
And.
26:35
Or
26:35
we
26:35
have
26:36
people
26:36
like,
26:36
you
26:36
know,
26:36
we
26:36
got
26:37
in
26:37
there,
26:37
it
26:37
was
26:38
a
26:38
bus.
26:38
We
26:38
turned
26:38
around
26:38
and
26:39
found
26:39
another
26:39
spot.
26:39
But
26:40
it
26:40
was
26:40
fine
26:40
because
26:40
we
26:41
know
26:41
the
26:41
guides
26:41
are
26:41
working
26:42
their
26:42
tails
26:42
off.
26:43
That's
26:43
the
26:43
kind
26:44
of
26:44
customer
26:44
who
26:45
really
26:45
enjoys
26:46
our.
26:47
Our
26:47
type
26:47
of
26:47
trip.
26:48
If
26:49
there's
26:50
a
26:50
customer
26:50
who
26:51
may.
26:51
They
26:52
may
26:52
only
26:52
fish
26:52
once
26:53
a
26:53
year.
26:54
And
26:54
when
26:54
they
26:54
do
26:54
that,
26:55
they
26:55
fish
26:55
with
26:55
a
26:55
guide.
26:57
You
26:57
know,
26:58
they
26:58
may
26:58
fish
26:58
for
26:58
20
26:59
years,
26:59
but
26:59
what
26:59
that
26:59
means
27:00
is
27:00
that
27:00
they
27:00
fish
27:00
for
27:01
20
27:01
times.
27:03
That
27:04
kind
27:04
of
27:04
customer
27:05
often
27:05
wants
27:06
more
27:06
Of
27:06
a
27:06
sure
27:06
thing
27:07
of,
27:08
you
27:08
know,
27:08
I
27:09
know
27:09
that
27:09
if
27:09
I
27:09
stand
27:10
by
27:11
this
27:11
rock
27:11
and
27:12
I
27:12
nymph
27:12
through
27:13
this
27:13
current
27:14
that
27:14
I
27:14
will
27:14
eventually
27:15
hook
27:15
up
27:15
on
27:15
fish.
27:16
And
27:16
then
27:17
I've
27:17
got
27:17
my
27:17
fish.
27:18
And
27:18
this
27:18
is
27:18
a
27:18
great
27:18
experience
27:19
for
27:19
me
27:20
and
27:20
for
27:20
bang
27:21
for
27:21
Buck,
27:21
this
27:21
is,
27:22
this
27:22
is
27:22
the
27:22
kind
27:22
of
27:22
experience
27:23
that
27:23
I
27:23
want.
27:23
That
27:24
kind
27:24
of
27:24
guy,
27:24
that
27:25
kind
27:25
of
27:25
customer
27:27
is
27:27
probably
27:27
not
27:28
going
27:28
to
27:28
really
27:28
connect
27:29
with
27:29
the
27:29
kind
27:29
of
27:29
operation
27:30
and
27:30
kind
27:30
of
27:31
experience
27:31
that
27:31
we
27:31
have.
27:33
We
27:33
are
27:33
really
27:34
explorers
27:35
and,
27:36
and
27:36
I
27:36
love
27:36
that.
27:37
That's
27:37
what
27:37
fires
27:37
me
27:37
up,
27:38
that's
27:38
what
27:38
keeps
27:38
me
27:38
going
27:39
back
27:39
there.
27:39
Because
27:41
every
27:41
day
27:41
is
27:42
different
27:42
down
27:42
there.
27:43
You
27:44
know,
27:44
the
27:44
fishing.
27:45
The
27:45
fishing
27:46
is
27:46
remarkable.
27:47
Honestly,
27:48
I've
27:48
never
27:48
experienced,
27:49
I've
27:49
traveled
27:49
the
27:49
world.
27:49
I've
27:50
never
27:50
experienced
27:51
fishing
27:51
like
27:52
Amazon
27:52
fishing,
27:53
with
27:54
numbers,
27:54
with
27:54
sheer
27:55
power,
27:55
with
27:56
sheer
27:56
size.
27:58
But
27:59
these
28:00
fish
28:00
don't
28:00
come
28:00
easy.
28:01
And
28:01
so
28:02
you
28:02
need
28:02
to
28:03
have
28:03
someone
28:03
with
28:03
the
28:03
mindset
28:04
of
28:04
understanding
28:05
that,
28:06
you
28:06
know,
28:06
just
28:06
because
28:07
I'm
28:07
getting
28:07
the
28:07
fly
28:07
out
28:08
there
28:08
doesn't
28:08
mean
28:08
I'm
28:08
automatically
28:09
going
28:09
to
28:09
catch
28:10
fish.
28:11
We
28:11
need
28:11
to
28:11
work
28:12
closely
28:12
with
28:12
the
28:12
guy.
28:13
We
28:13
need
28:13
to
28:13
work
28:13
on
28:13
the
28:14
presentation,
28:15
work
28:15
on
28:15
our
28:15
casting
28:16
a
28:16
little
28:16
bit,
28:17
make
28:17
sure
28:17
that
28:17
we
28:17
are
28:17
ready,
28:18
that
28:18
we
28:19
understand
28:19
a
28:19
strip
28:20
set,
28:20
hook
28:20
set,
28:21
we
28:21
understand
28:21
how
28:22
to
28:22
fight
28:23
these
28:23
fish
28:24
because,
28:24
you
28:24
know,
28:24
it's,
28:25
it's
28:25
hard
28:25
to
28:25
imagine
28:26
until
28:26
you
28:26
actually
28:27
hook
28:27
into
28:27
a
28:27
peacock
28:28
bass.
28:28
Just
28:29
the
28:29
sheer
28:29
power
28:31
of
28:31
these
28:31
fish.
28:32
Like
28:33
a
28:33
12
28:33
pound
28:34
peacock
28:35
bass
28:36
will
28:36
shatter
28:37
40
28:37
pound
28:38
leader
28:38
in,
28:39
in
28:39
one
28:39
run
28:39
on
28:40
his
28:40
first
28:40
run.
28:41
And
28:42
people
28:42
don't
28:42
believe
28:42
that
28:43
until
28:43
they
28:43
suddenly
28:44
are
28:44
like,
28:44
what
28:45
just
28:45
happened
28:46
there?
28:46
You
28:46
know,
28:46
they
28:47
never
28:47
even
28:47
saw
28:47
the
28:47
fish
28:48
that
28:48
absolutely
28:48
shattered
28:49
their
28:49
leader.
28:50
And,
28:50
and
28:51
so
28:51
for
28:52
us,
28:53
I
28:53
get
28:53
fired
28:53
up
28:53
about
28:54
that
28:54
because,
28:54
well,
28:54
that's
28:54
great.
28:55
That
28:55
means
28:55
the
28:55
next
28:55
time
28:55
it
28:56
won't
28:56
happen
28:56
and
28:56
you're
28:57
going
28:57
to
28:57
be
28:57
that
28:57
much
28:57
of
28:57
a
28:58
better
28:58
angler.
28:59
I
28:59
don't
28:59
know
28:59
if
29:00
that
29:00
makes
29:00
sense.
29:01
Yeah,
29:01
it
29:01
does.
29:02
And
29:02
I
29:02
guess,
29:02
you
29:02
know,
29:02
so
29:03
we've
29:03
got
29:03
kind
29:03
of,
29:03
let's
29:03
just
29:04
say
29:04
the
29:04
attitude
29:04
profile
29:06
and
29:06
then
29:06
we
29:07
have
29:07
to
29:07
overlay
29:07
that
29:07
on
29:08
the
29:08
skill
29:08
profile.
29:09
Right.
29:09
I
29:09
know
29:09
that's
29:10
a
29:10
tremendous
29:10
challenge,
29:11
you
29:12
know,
29:12
where
29:13
you
29:13
have
29:13
to
29:13
get
29:13
people,
29:13
you
29:14
know,
29:14
and
29:14
you've
29:14
got
29:14
the
29:14
guide
29:15
experience,
29:15
you
29:15
know,
29:15
what
29:15
they
29:16
tell
29:16
you
29:16
and
29:16
what's
29:16
the
29:16
truth,
29:17
Right?
29:18
Yes.
29:18
And
29:18
then
29:19
what
29:19
they
29:19
need.
29:19
And
29:19
so,
29:20
you
29:20
know,
29:21
what
29:21
do
29:21
people
29:21
need
29:22
to
29:22
think
29:22
about
29:22
being
29:23
able
29:23
to
29:23
do
29:24
or
29:24
being
29:25
willing
29:25
to
29:25
do
29:25
before
29:25
they
29:26
decide
29:26
to
29:26
come
29:27
down
29:27
to
29:27
the
29:27
Amazon
29:28
and
29:28
chase
29:28
peacock
29:28
bass
29:29
and
29:29
some
29:29
of
29:29
those
29:29
other
29:29
toothy
29:30
critters
29:30
you've
29:31
got
29:31
down
29:31
there?
29:32
Sure.
29:32
As
29:32
far
29:32
as
29:32
skill
29:33
sets
29:33
With.
29:34
With.
29:34
Exactly,
29:35
exactly.
29:35
I'm.
29:36
I'm
29:36
so
29:36
glad
29:37
you
29:37
asked
29:37
that
29:37
question.
29:38
We,
29:38
I
29:39
tell
29:39
people
29:39
all
29:39
the
29:40
time
29:40
we
29:40
will
29:40
take
29:40
all
29:41
levels
29:41
of
29:42
experience.
29:42
Absolutely.
29:43
Even
29:43
beginners.
29:44
We've
29:44
had
29:44
beginners.
29:45
We've
29:45
had
29:45
a
29:46
couple
29:46
of
29:46
never
29:46
evers.
29:47
And.
29:48
Which
29:48
is
29:49
amazing.
29:49
Can
29:49
you
29:49
imagine
29:50
your
29:50
first
29:50
fly
29:50
fishing
29:51
trip
29:51
being
29:51
the
29:51
Amazon?
29:52
And
29:53
you
29:53
know,
29:53
they're
29:53
usually
29:54
a
29:54
friend
29:54
that,
29:55
that's
29:55
come
29:55
along
29:55
with
29:56
someone
29:56
or
29:56
a
29:57
husband
29:57
or
29:57
a
29:57
wife
29:57
or
29:58
something
29:58
like
29:58
that.
29:59
And
30:00
you
30:00
know,
30:00
one
30:00
thing
30:00
that's
30:00
unique
30:01
about
30:01
us
30:03
is
30:03
on,
30:04
you
30:04
know,
30:04
I
30:04
try
30:04
to
30:04
host
30:05
every
30:05
trip.
30:05
We're
30:06
now
30:06
running
30:06
multiple
30:06
camps,
30:07
so
30:07
I
30:07
can't
30:07
be
30:07
at
30:07
every
30:08
location.
30:09
But
30:09
you
30:09
know,
30:09
when
30:10
I'm
30:10
down
30:10
there
30:10
the
30:11
whole
30:11
season
30:11
and
30:12
so
30:12
that
30:12
I
30:13
literally
30:13
fish
30:13
every
30:14
day
30:14
with
30:14
customers.
30:15
And
30:16
we'll
30:16
talk
30:16
to
30:17
guests
30:17
at
30:17
night,
30:17
I'll
30:18
talk
30:18
to
30:18
the
30:18
guides
30:18
at
30:18
night.
30:19
We
30:19
have
30:19
guide
30:19
meetings
30:19
every
30:20
night,
30:20
just
30:20
talking
30:21
about
30:21
what
30:21
can
30:21
we
30:21
do
30:21
better,
30:22
who
30:22
needs
30:22
a
30:23
little
30:23
extra
30:23
help,
30:24
who
30:24
needs
30:25
a
30:25
little
30:25
dose
30:25
of
30:25
confidence
30:26
or
30:26
who
30:26
just
30:26
wants
30:27
to
30:27
go
30:27
out
30:27
and,
30:28
and
30:28
explore.
30:29
And
30:29
I'll
30:29
take
30:29
that
30:29
person
30:30
out.
30:30
And
30:31
I
30:32
love
30:32
teaching
30:33
casting.
30:33
I,
30:34
I
30:34
just
30:34
love
30:35
the
30:35
whole
30:35
process
30:36
of
30:37
that,
30:37
of
30:38
watching
30:38
that
30:38
light
30:39
turn
30:39
on
30:39
as
30:39
the
30:40
customer
30:40
suddenly
30:40
is
30:40
like,
30:41
oh,
30:41
did
30:42
you
30:42
see
30:42
that?
30:42
I
30:43
totally
30:43
felt
30:43
that
30:43
rod
30:44
just
30:44
kick
30:44
the
30:44
fly
30:45
out.
30:45
And
30:45
that
30:46
was
30:46
amazing.
30:46
I
30:46
just
30:46
love
30:47
those
30:47
moments.
30:47
And
30:48
so
30:49
any,
30:50
any
30:50
and
30:50
all
30:51
levels
30:52
are
30:52
absolutely
30:52
welcome.
30:54
Honestly,
30:55
the,
30:55
the
30:56
hardest
30:56
customers
30:57
we
30:57
have
30:57
are
30:57
the
30:57
customers
30:58
who
30:58
arrive
30:59
that
30:59
are
30:59
already
31:00
the
31:00
experts.
31:01
We
31:01
have
31:01
guests
31:02
who
31:02
have
31:02
never
31:02
fly
31:02
fish
31:02
or
31:03
peacock
31:03
bass
31:03
in
31:03
their
31:04
lives,
31:04
but
31:04
they're
31:04
the
31:04
experts.
31:05
And
31:05
so
31:06
they
31:06
don't.
31:07
They're
31:07
not
31:07
interesting
31:08
in
31:08
being
31:09
taught
31:09
or
31:10
given
31:10
direction
31:10
or
31:11
given
31:11
ideas.
31:12
They're
31:12
just
31:12
there
31:12
to
31:12
catch
31:13
fish.
31:13
And
31:13
those
31:14
are
31:14
the
31:14
hardest
31:14
ones.
31:16
You
31:16
know,
31:16
I
31:16
went
31:17
tarpon
31:17
fishing
31:17
once,
31:19
and
31:19
I'm
31:20
not
31:20
a
31:20
tarpon
31:21
expert.
31:22
They
31:22
kicked
31:22
my
31:22
butt.
31:23
And
31:23
I
31:23
just
31:23
can't
31:23
imagine
31:24
just
31:24
arriving
31:24
and
31:24
saying,
31:25
hey,
31:25
hey,
31:25
you.
31:26
I
31:26
don't
31:26
need
31:26
to
31:26
hear
31:26
anything
31:27
from
31:27
the
31:27
guide.
31:28
I've
31:28
got
31:28
this.
31:28
You
31:29
know,
31:29
this
31:29
is,
31:29
it's
31:29
just.
31:30
Is
31:30
completely
31:30
foreign
31:31
to
31:31
me.
31:31
So
31:32
I
31:33
would
31:33
say
31:33
if
31:33
you're
31:34
thinking
31:34
about
31:34
coming
31:34
down,
31:36
you
31:36
know,
31:37
think
31:37
about
31:37
your
31:37
skills.
31:38
And
31:38
I
31:38
would
31:38
just
31:39
say,
31:39
be
31:39
ready
31:39
to
31:39
ask
31:40
for
31:40
help
31:40
and
31:40
say,
31:40
hey,
31:41
my
31:41
double
31:41
haul.
31:42
Could
31:42
you
31:42
clean.
31:42
Help
31:42
me
31:43
clean
31:43
this
31:43
up
31:44
and
31:44
we'll
31:44
fix
31:44
it
31:45
and
31:45
we'll
31:45
have
31:45
a
31:45
great
31:46
time.
31:46
And
31:47
I
31:47
just,
31:48
we're
31:48
really
31:48
drawn,
31:49
I
31:50
think,
31:50
to
31:50
people
31:50
who
31:50
are
31:51
really
31:51
want
31:51
to
31:51
get
31:51
better
31:51
with
31:52
their
31:52
craft,
31:53
who
31:53
really
31:53
want
31:53
to
31:55
see
31:56
the
31:56
success.
31:57
And,
31:58
you
31:58
know,
31:58
the
31:58
success
31:58
kicks
31:59
in.
32:00
There
32:00
are
32:00
so
32:00
many
32:01
fish
32:01
in
32:01
our
32:01
rivers
32:02
there's
32:03
so
32:03
many
32:03
opportunities,
32:04
and
32:04
once
32:05
it
32:05
clicks,
32:06
once
32:07
a
32:07
customer
32:07
completely
32:08
understands
32:08
what
32:09
that
32:09
cast
32:09
needs
32:09
to
32:10
be,
32:10
what
32:10
that
32:11
presentation
32:11
needs
32:12
to
32:12
be,
32:13
and
32:13
then
32:13
way,
32:14
way,
32:14
way,
32:14
way,
32:14
way
32:14
down
32:15
the
32:15
line
32:15
in
32:15
priority,
32:16
what
32:16
the
32:17
fly
32:17
is,
32:18
if
32:18
they
32:18
get
32:19
that
32:19
presentation
32:19
right,
32:20
those
32:20
fish
32:20
will
32:20
respond.
32:21
And
32:21
then.
32:22
And
32:23
then
32:23
people
32:23
are
32:23
just
32:24
having
32:24
the
32:24
time
32:24
of
32:24
their
32:24
lives
32:25
because
32:25
they
32:26
did
32:26
it.
32:26
It's
32:26
a
32:26
huge
32:27
achievement.
32:28
And
32:29
then
32:29
the
32:29
numbers
32:29
start
32:29
kicking
32:30
in.
32:30
You
32:30
know,
32:31
we.
32:31
When
32:31
I
32:31
start
32:32
telling
32:32
people
32:32
the
32:32
numbers,
32:34
people
32:34
just
32:35
don't
32:35
believe
32:35
it,
32:35
but
32:35
you
32:36
come
32:36
down
32:36
and
32:36
you'll
32:36
see
32:37
it.
32:37
Now,
32:37
this.
32:38
This
32:38
last
32:39
year,
32:39
we
32:39
had
32:39
record
32:40
low
32:40
water
32:40
levels,
32:41
and
32:41
so
32:41
our
32:41
numbers
32:42
weren't.
32:42
Weren't
32:42
what
32:43
they
32:43
typically
32:43
are.
32:44
But,
32:46
you
32:46
know,
32:46
on
32:46
a.
32:47
On
32:47
a
32:47
typical
32:47
week,
32:48
for
32:48
example,
32:48
in
32:48
the
32:49
Rio
32:49
Negro,
32:49
which
32:49
is
32:50
our
32:50
mothership
32:50
trip,
32:51
we'll
32:52
have
32:52
usually
32:52
around
32:53
10
32:53
guests
32:53
on
32:53
that
32:54
trip,
32:54
and
32:54
we'll
32:54
land
32:55
about
32:55
1200
32:56
fish
32:56
each
32:57
week.
32:58
On
32:59
a
32:59
typical
32:59
week,
32:59
I
33:00
think
33:00
our
33:00
record
33:00
is
33:01
almost
33:01
1700.
33:02
I
33:02
think
33:02
it
33:02
was
33:02
1680.
33:04
And,
33:05
you
33:06
know,
33:06
with
33:06
10
33:06
anglers,
33:07
that's
33:07
a
33:07
lot
33:07
of
33:07
fish.
33:08
And
33:08
so
33:08
it's.
33:09
It's
33:10
just
33:10
an
33:10
incredible
33:11
experience
33:12
that
33:13
if
33:13
you're
33:13
a
33:13
real
33:14
fly
33:14
angler,
33:14
if
33:14
you're
33:15
a
33:15
fly
33:15
angler
33:16
and
33:16
you're
33:17
open
33:17
for
33:17
adventure
33:18
as
33:18
you
33:18
just.
33:19
You
33:19
don't
33:19
want
33:20
to
33:20
miss
33:20
this
33:20
opportunity.
33:21
Yeah.
33:22
And
33:22
then
33:22
I
33:22
guess
33:22
kind
33:22
of
33:23
the
33:23
last
33:23
piece
33:23
of
33:23
the
33:23
puzzle,
33:24
I
33:24
would
33:24
say,
33:24
is,
33:24
you
33:24
know,
33:26
streamer
33:26
fishing.
33:27
Sometimes
33:27
it's
33:27
not
33:28
for
33:28
the
33:28
faint
33:28
of
33:28
heart
33:29
kind
33:29
of
33:29
on
33:29
the
33:29
physical
33:29
side.
33:30
You
33:30
know,
33:30
what
33:30
do
33:30
people
33:30
need
33:31
to
33:31
be
33:31
able
33:31
to
33:32
kind
33:32
of
33:32
tolerate
33:33
from
33:33
kind
33:33
of
33:33
a
33:33
climate,
33:34
you
33:34
know,
33:34
because
33:35
it's
33:35
different
33:36
for,
33:36
you
33:36
know,
33:36
being
33:36
in
33:36
the
33:37
bow
33:37
of
33:37
a
33:37
boat
33:37
in
33:37
Montana
33:38
and
33:38
watching
33:38
a
33:38
bobber
33:39
for
33:39
a
33:39
week.
33:39
Right.
33:40
That's
33:40
a
33:40
total
33:40
true.
33:42
That's.
33:42
That's
33:42
different.
33:43
Like
33:43
I
33:43
always
33:43
say,
33:44
you
33:44
know,
33:44
I'm
33:44
lucky
33:45
enough
33:45
to.
33:46
To
33:46
usually
33:46
fish
33:46
with
33:47
Blaine
33:47
every
33:47
muskie
33:48
season,
33:48
and
33:48
that's
33:48
the
33:48
most
33:49
physically
33:49
demanding
33:49
fishing
33:50
I.
33:51
During
33:51
the
33:51
year.
33:51
So
33:52
kind
33:52
of,
33:52
what.
33:52
What
33:52
is
33:52
it
33:52
like
33:53
chasing
33:53
peacock
33:53
bass
33:54
down
33:54
the
33:54
Amazon?
33:55
Now,
33:55
see,
33:55
that's
33:55
a
33:56
perfect
33:56
example,
33:56
because
33:57
just
33:57
imagine
33:58
doing
33:58
that
33:59
on
33:59
the
34:00
equator
34:01
in
34:01
the
34:01
middle
34:01
of
34:01
summer.
34:02
It's
34:02
the
34:03
same
34:03
thing.
34:04
Imagine
34:05
now
34:05
we
34:05
don't
34:05
cast
34:06
as
34:06
many
34:06
big
34:06
flies.
34:08
People
34:09
make
34:09
the
34:09
assumption
34:09
that
34:09
peacock
34:10
bass
34:10
only
34:10
eat
34:11
big
34:11
flies.
34:13
That
34:13
is
34:13
not
34:13
true
34:14
at
34:14
all.
34:14
And
34:14
so
34:15
I'll.
34:15
I'll.
34:15
I'll
34:16
trim
34:16
it
34:16
down
34:17
to
34:18
smaller
34:18
flies,
34:18
but
34:19
it's.
34:20
It's
34:20
very
34:20
similar
34:20
to
34:20
muskie
34:21
fishing.
34:21
And
34:22
as
34:22
you're.
34:22
As
34:22
you're
34:23
floating
34:23
down
34:23
with
34:24
Blaine
34:24
and
34:25
you're
34:25
casting
34:25
the
34:25
structure
34:26
or
34:26
you're
34:26
casting
34:27
to
34:27
points
34:27
or
34:27
you,
34:28
you're
34:28
casting
34:28
to,
34:29
to
34:29
humps,
34:31
anticipating
34:32
where
34:32
that
34:33
ambush
34:33
strike
34:33
will
34:34
happen.
34:34
You
34:35
know,
34:35
that's,
34:35
that's
34:35
how
34:36
we
34:36
spend
34:36
our
34:36
days.
34:37
And
34:38
a
34:38
lot
34:38
of
34:38
this.
34:39
Of
34:39
our
34:39
guests
34:40
come
34:40
down
34:40
are
34:41
industry
34:41
guys.
34:41
They're
34:42
professional,
34:42
either
34:43
guides
34:43
or
34:45
in
34:45
the
34:45
industry,
34:45
one
34:46
way
34:46
or
34:46
another.
34:47
And
34:47
they
34:47
come
34:47
down
34:48
and
34:48
man
34:48
their
34:48
first
34:49
day.
34:49
When
34:49
they
34:49
roll
34:50
in
34:50
at
34:50
the
34:50
end
34:50
of
34:50
the
34:50
day,
34:50
they
34:51
are
34:51
beat
34:52
up
34:53
because
34:53
they're
34:54
casting.
34:54
You
34:55
know,
34:55
everything
34:55
looks
34:56
fishy.
34:56
Every
34:57
inch
34:57
of
34:57
that
34:58
place
34:58
looks
34:58
fishy.
34:59
And
34:59
they
34:59
try
34:59
to
35:00
cover
35:00
every
35:00
single
35:01
inch
35:01
because
35:01
they
35:01
want
35:01
to
35:02
maximize
35:03
the
35:03
time
35:03
that
35:03
they're
35:03
there.
35:04
And
35:04
I
35:04
totally
35:04
get
35:04
it.
35:05
Then
35:05
we
35:05
have
35:06
a
35:06
conversation.
35:07
I
35:07
usually
35:07
let
35:07
them
35:07
beat
35:08
themselves
35:08
up
35:08
on
35:08
the
35:08
first
35:09
day,
35:09
and
35:09
then
35:09
this.
35:10
Then
35:10
that
35:10
night
35:10
we
35:11
talk
35:11
about,
35:12
let's
35:12
talk
35:12
about
35:13
picking
35:13
our
35:13
shots
35:14
and
35:14
let's
35:14
talk
35:14
about
35:15
what
35:15
do
35:15
we
35:16
do
35:16
in
35:16
our
35:16
cast
35:16
to
35:17
make
35:17
sure
35:18
it's
35:18
as
35:18
efficient
35:19
as
35:19
possible.
35:20
What
35:20
are
35:20
we
35:21
doing
35:21
to
35:21
make
35:21
sure
35:21
the
35:21
rod
35:22
is
35:22
doing
35:22
the
35:22
work
35:23
and
35:23
not
35:24
your
35:24
shoulders?
35:25
Because
35:25
chucking
35:26
these
35:26
flies
35:26
all
35:26
day
35:27
long
35:28
can
35:28
really
35:29
beat
35:29
you
35:29
up.
35:29
And
35:29
then
35:30
by
35:30
day
35:30
two,
35:31
they
35:31
start
35:32
to
35:32
really
35:32
pick
35:33
their
35:33
battles.
35:33
They,
35:33
they,
35:34
they,
35:34
they'll
35:35
go
35:35
in
35:35
and
35:35
they'll
35:35
wait
35:36
to
35:36
take
35:36
their
35:36
shots,
35:37
and,
35:37
and
35:37
often
35:38
they
35:38
catch
35:38
more
35:38
fish.
35:40
Because
35:41
if
35:41
you
35:41
cast
35:41
too
35:42
much
35:43
standing
35:44
in
35:44
the
35:44
heat
35:44
like
35:44
that,
35:45
you
35:45
know,
35:45
you're.
35:46
There's
35:46
no
35:46
way
35:46
that
35:46
you
35:47
can
35:47
keep
35:47
your
35:47
skills
35:47
up
35:48
high
35:48
like
35:48
that.
35:49
You
35:49
know,
35:49
I,
35:49
I
35:50
tell
35:50
people
35:50
it's
35:50
much
35:51
like,
35:51
you
35:51
know,
35:51
professional
35:52
baseball
35:52
pitcher.
35:53
You
35:53
know,
35:53
they've
35:54
only
35:54
got
35:55
so
35:55
many
35:55
great
35:56
pitches
35:56
per
35:57
game.
35:58
So
35:59
that's
35:59
how
35:59
you
35:59
look
35:59
at
35:59
fly
36:00
casting
36:00
in
36:00
the
36:00
Amazon.
36:01
You
36:01
could
36:01
cast
36:02
all
36:02
day,
36:02
but
36:03
if
36:03
you
36:03
get
36:03
tired,
36:04
you're
36:04
going
36:04
to
36:04
start
36:05
getting
36:05
sloppy,
36:05
you're
36:06
going
36:06
to
36:06
start
36:07
missing
36:07
strikes,
36:08
you're
36:08
going
36:08
to.
36:08
Your
36:09
fly
36:09
is
36:09
going
36:09
to
36:09
be
36:09
stuck
36:09
in
36:10
the
36:10
trees,
36:10
your
36:11
fly
36:11
is
36:11
going
36:11
to
36:11
be
36:11
stuck
36:12
in
36:12
your
36:12
shoulder.
36:14
And
36:14
so
36:15
if
36:15
people
36:16
are
36:16
willing
36:16
to
36:16
kind
36:16
of
36:17
take
36:17
a
36:17
step
36:17
back
36:17
and
36:18
really
36:18
take
36:18
care
36:19
of
36:19
themselves
36:19
and
36:20
make
36:20
sure
36:20
they're.
36:20
They're
36:20
picking
36:21
their
36:21
shots
36:21
and
36:21
spending
36:22
the
36:22
day
36:23
being
36:23
relaxed
36:24
and
36:24
not
36:24
overworking
36:25
themselves.
36:26
You
36:26
know,
36:26
it's,
36:26
it's
36:27
a
36:27
hot
36:27
environment.
36:27
I
36:28
live
36:28
in
36:28
Georgia,
36:29
so
36:30
I
36:30
would
36:30
say
36:30
down
36:30
there
36:30
is
36:31
the
36:31
very
36:31
much
36:31
equivalent
36:32
of
36:33
Atlanta
36:34
in
36:34
August.
36:34
You
36:34
know,
36:35
it's
36:35
that
36:35
hot.
36:37
People
36:37
always
36:37
ask
36:37
me
36:38
how
36:38
hot
36:38
it
36:38
is,
36:38
and
36:38
I'm
36:39
like,
36:39
I
36:39
don't
36:39
measure
36:39
it.
36:39
I
36:40
don't
36:40
want
36:40
to
36:40
know.
36:42
But,
36:42
you
36:43
know,
36:43
we,
36:43
we
36:43
do
36:43
things
36:44
to
36:44
make
36:44
sure
36:44
everybody's
36:44
well
36:45
hydrated.
36:46
And
36:46
one
36:47
thing
36:47
we
36:47
do
36:47
that's
36:47
unique
36:48
is
36:48
we
36:48
have
36:48
Mandatory
36:49
siestas
36:50
in
36:50
the
36:50
middle
36:50
of
36:51
the
36:51
day.
36:52
And
36:52
at
36:53
first,
36:53
guys
36:54
are
36:54
very
36:54
resistant
36:55
to
36:56
that
36:56
concept
36:56
because
36:57
they're
36:57
there
36:57
to
36:57
fish.
36:58
I'm
36:58
not
36:58
gonna,
36:58
I'm
36:59
not
36:59
gonna
36:59
hang
36:59
out
36:59
and
36:59
rest.
37:00
Well,
37:02
I
37:02
tell
37:02
them,
37:02
and
37:03
it's
37:03
true.
37:03
The
37:04
guides
37:04
need
37:04
it
37:04
too.
37:05
You
37:05
know,
37:05
this
37:05
is
37:05
the
37:06
sixth
37:06
week
37:06
this
37:06
guy's
37:07
been
37:07
out
37:07
on
37:07
the
37:07
water.
37:08
He
37:08
needs,
37:09
he
37:09
needs
37:10
an
37:10
afternoon
37:10
siesta.
37:11
So
37:11
we
37:12
have
37:12
a
37:12
nice
37:13
lunch
37:13
and
37:14
air
37:14
conditioning,
37:15
and
37:15
then
37:16
guests
37:16
go
37:16
back
37:17
to
37:17
their
37:17
cabins
37:18
and
37:18
they
37:19
can
37:19
rest
37:19
for
37:20
a
37:20
couple
37:20
of
37:20
hours.
37:22
And
37:22
then
37:23
we
37:23
get
37:23
back
37:23
out
37:23
on
37:24
the
37:24
water
37:24
for
37:24
just
37:24
the
37:24
last
37:25
couple
37:25
of
37:25
hours
37:25
of
37:26
light.
37:26
And
37:27
I'll
37:27
tell
37:27
you
37:27
what's
37:28
really
37:28
interesting
37:29
is,
37:30
well,
37:31
number
37:31
one,
37:31
guests
37:32
are
37:32
much
37:32
happier
37:32
and
37:32
healthier.
37:33
They're
37:34
well
37:34
rested.
37:35
They
37:35
cooled
37:35
off
37:35
at
37:36
the
37:36
hottest
37:36
time
37:36
of
37:36
the
37:36
day.
37:37
But
37:37
you
37:38
know
37:38
what,
37:38
our
37:38
fish
37:38
count
37:39
actually
37:40
goes
37:40
up.
37:41
Since
37:41
we
37:42
started
37:42
implementing
37:42
this,
37:43
we're
37:43
literally
37:43
taking
37:44
three
37:45
hours
37:45
off
37:46
of
37:46
the
37:46
fishing
37:46
day,
37:46
but
37:46
our
37:47
fish
37:47
count
37:48
has
37:48
gone
37:49
up.
37:49
So
37:49
that
37:49
just
37:49
tells
37:50
you.
37:51
With
37:52
people
37:52
that
37:52
go
37:52
out
37:52
and
37:52
do
37:53
all
37:53
dares,
37:53
they're
37:53
just,
37:54
they're
37:54
just
37:54
tired
37:55
and
37:56
they're
37:56
just
37:56
sloppy.
37:57
So
37:57
I,
37:57
you
37:57
know,
37:58
I
37:58
feel
37:58
like
37:59
we've
38:00
really
38:00
implemented
38:00
some
38:01
good
38:01
systems
38:01
to
38:01
make
38:02
sure
38:02
that
38:02
people
38:02
are
38:02
comfortable
38:03
and
38:03
rested
38:05
out
38:05
of
38:05
the
38:05
heat,
38:06
but
38:07
they
38:07
still
38:07
have
38:07
plenty
38:08
of
38:08
opportunities
38:09
to,
38:09
to
38:09
just
38:10
catch
38:10
lifetime
38:11
fish.
38:12
Yeah.
38:12
I
38:12
think
38:12
maybe
38:13
we
38:13
need
38:13
to
38:13
bring
38:13
this.
38:14
Yes.
38:14
To
38:15
top
38:15
water
38:16
fishing
38:16
for
38:16
smallmouth
38:17
in
38:17
Virginia
38:17
in
38:17
August.
38:18
It
38:19
makes
38:19
so
38:19
much
38:20
sense.
38:21
Yeah.
38:21
I
38:22
try
38:22
to
38:22
explain
38:22
to
38:22
people,
38:23
I
38:23
said,
38:23
just
38:23
so
38:23
we're
38:24
clear,
38:24
you're
38:25
not
38:25
in
38:25
the
38:25
shade
38:25
and
38:26
the
38:26
fish
38:26
are.
38:26
And
38:26
that's
38:27
like
38:27
that
38:27
all
38:27
day
38:28
long.
38:28
Right.
38:28
And
38:28
it's
38:29
in
38:29
the
38:29
90s
38:29
and
38:30
it's
38:30
humid,
38:31
you
38:32
know,
38:32
or,
38:32
or,
38:32
you
38:32
know,
38:33
like
38:33
you're
38:33
talking
38:33
about.
38:33
It's
38:34
like
38:34
I
38:34
was
38:34
talking
38:35
to
38:35
Austin
38:36
Conrad
38:36
at
38:36
Virginia
38:37
Trophy
38:37
Guides
38:37
about
38:38
he
38:38
had
38:38
a
38:38
guy
38:38
out
38:38
and
38:39
he
38:40
talked
38:40
about
38:40
him
38:40
losing
38:41
concentration.
38:41
I
38:41
said,
38:41
I
38:42
bet
38:42
it
38:42
was
38:42
about
38:42
2:30
38:43
or
38:43
3:00
38:43
in
38:43
the
38:44
afternoon,
38:44
right
38:44
as
38:44
the
38:45
bite
38:45
window
38:45
opened
38:45
up
38:46
where
38:46
the
38:46
water
38:46
got
38:46
as
38:46
warm
38:47
it
38:47
was
38:47
going
38:47
to
38:47
get
38:47
all
38:48
day
38:48
long.
38:48
He's
38:48
like,
38:48
exactly,
38:49
exactly.
38:50
Yes,
38:51
I
38:51
can
38:51
see
38:51
it.
38:52
Absolutely.
38:53
And
38:54
you
38:54
know,
38:54
it's,
38:55
it's,
38:55
it's
38:56
fun
38:56
because
38:56
by
38:57
day
38:57
three,
38:58
I
38:58
start
38:59
to
38:59
hear.
38:59
I
38:59
always
38:59
like
39:00
to
39:00
position
39:00
myself
39:01
where
39:02
I
39:02
can
39:02
listen
39:03
to
39:03
customers
39:03
talking
39:04
to
39:04
each
39:04
other,
39:04
but
39:04
they
39:04
don't
39:05
know
39:05
that
39:05
I'm
39:05
eavesdropping.
39:06
And,
39:07
you
39:07
know,
39:07
just
39:07
to
39:07
make
39:07
sure
39:07
if
39:08
there's
39:08
any
39:08
problems,
39:08
I'm,
39:08
I'm
39:09
there
39:09
ready
39:09
to
39:10
hear
39:10
and
39:10
ready
39:10
to,
39:11
to
39:11
help.
39:11
But
39:12
by
39:12
day
39:12
three,
39:12
three,
39:13
I
39:13
usually
39:13
start
39:13
hearing
39:14
guys
39:14
saying,
39:14
man,
39:15
I
39:15
can't
39:15
wait.
39:15
I
39:15
can't
39:16
wait
39:16
for
39:16
that
39:16
siesta
39:16
today.
39:17
It's
39:17
going
39:17
to
39:17
be
39:17
awesome.
39:19
Yeah.
39:20
And
39:20
so,
39:21
you
39:21
know,
39:21
for.
39:21
And
39:21
we
39:22
were
39:22
talking
39:22
to.
39:22
Before
39:23
we
39:23
started
39:23
recording,
39:23
you
39:23
know,
39:24
both
39:24
of
39:24
us
39:24
are
39:24
kind
39:24
of
39:24
spoiled
39:25
because
39:25
we're
39:25
around
39:25
this
39:26
a
39:26
lot.
39:26
And
39:26
so
39:26
we
39:26
don't
39:27
think
39:27
is,
39:27
you
39:27
know,
39:27
about
39:28
people
39:28
that
39:28
maybe
39:28
do
39:29
one
39:29
or
39:29
two
39:30
or
39:30
three
39:30
of
39:30
these
39:30
trips
39:30
in
39:30
their
39:31
entire
39:31
lifetime.
39:31
And
39:32
so,
39:32
you
39:32
know,
39:32
if
39:33
you're
39:33
someone
39:33
sitting
39:34
down
39:34
and
39:34
saying,
39:34
I'm
39:34
going
39:35
to
39:35
take,
39:35
you
39:35
know,
39:35
one
39:35
or
39:36
two
39:36
of
39:36
these
39:36
great
39:36
destination
39:37
trips
39:37
in
39:37
my
39:38
kind
39:38
of
39:38
fly
39:38
fishing
39:39
life
39:39
and
39:40
you
39:40
know,
39:40
I
39:40
can
39:40
go
39:40
to
39:41
the
39:41
Caribbean,
39:41
I
39:41
can
39:42
go
39:42
out
39:42
west,
39:42
I
39:42
can
39:43
go
39:43
to
39:43
Alaska,
39:43
I
39:43
can
39:44
go.
39:44
I
39:44
guess
39:44
now
39:45
you
39:45
can
39:45
go
39:45
back
39:45
to
39:45
Kimchatka.
39:46
I
39:46
think
39:46
I
39:46
saw
39:46
a
39:46
post
39:47
from
39:47
Will
39:47
Blair
39:47
saying
39:48
that
39:48
you
39:49
wouldn't
39:49
get
39:49
rendered
39:49
if
39:50
you
39:50
went
39:50
back
39:50
there
39:50
to
39:50
fish.
39:51
Now
39:52
I
39:52
saw
39:52
that
39:52
yesterday.
39:53
I'm
39:53
psyched.
39:53
I
39:54
hope
39:54
you
39:54
can
39:54
get
39:54
that
39:54
business
39:55
back
39:55
on
39:55
the
39:55
ground.
39:55
That's
39:56
great.
39:56
Yeah.
39:57
And
39:57
so
39:58
what
39:59
is
39:59
it
39:59
about
39:59
the
39:59
Amazon
40:00
that's
40:00
different?
40:01
That
40:01
kind
40:01
of,
40:02
let's
40:02
just
40:02
say
40:02
the
40:03
destination
40:03
travel
40:04
consumer
40:04
should
40:04
think
40:04
about
40:05
that's
40:05
kind
40:05
of
40:06
the
40:06
differentiator
40:07
or
40:07
the
40:07
tiebreaker.
40:09
You're
40:09
absolutely
40:09
right.
40:10
There
40:10
are
40:10
so
40:11
many
40:11
options,
40:12
I
40:13
think
40:14
for
40:14
me.
40:15
And
40:15
it's,
40:15
it's
40:15
a.
40:16
Well,
40:16
it's
40:17
a
40:17
point
40:17
I
40:17
haven't
40:17
really
40:17
brought
40:18
up
40:18
yet.
40:18
But
40:19
for
40:20
me,
40:21
the
40:21
big
40:21
part
40:22
of
40:22
our
40:22
trip,
40:22
the
40:22
big
40:23
part
40:23
of
40:23
our
40:23
adventure,
40:27
a
40:27
lot
40:27
of
40:27
it
40:27
has
40:27
to
40:27
do
40:28
with
40:28
the
40:28
fishing.
40:28
And
40:28
that's
40:29
what's
40:29
going
40:29
to
40:29
bring
40:29
people
40:29
down.
40:30
But
40:30
this,
40:31
there's
40:31
a
40:31
much
40:31
bigger
40:32
experience
40:33
that
40:33
we,
40:34
that
40:34
my
40:35
customers
40:35
really
40:36
have.
40:37
And
40:39
there's
40:40
nothing
40:40
like
40:41
being
40:41
in
40:41
a
40:41
mothership
40:42
running
40:42
up
40:43
the
40:43
Rio
40:43
Negro
40:44
River.
40:46
If
40:47
you
40:47
haven't
40:47
seen
40:47
it
40:48
or
40:48
experienced
40:48
it,
40:48
it's
40:49
almost
40:49
impossible
40:49
to
40:50
explain
40:50
it.
40:50
Well,
40:51
I'll
40:51
put
40:51
it
40:51
this
40:51
way.
40:52
There's
40:52
a.
40:52
There's
40:52
a
40:53
place
40:53
that
40:53
we
40:53
run
40:54
on
40:54
the
40:54
Rio
40:55
Negro
40:55
River.
40:55
It's
40:55
the
40:56
fifth
40:56
largest
40:56
river
40:56
in
40:57
the
40:57
world
40:57
by
40:57
volume.
40:58
And
40:59
it's
41:00
a
41:00
13
41:00
miles
41:01
wide
41:01
where
41:02
we
41:02
run
41:02
the
41:03
mothership
41:03
wide.
41:05
Just
41:05
imagine
41:05
that.
41:08
Imagine
41:09
braids
41:10
and
41:10
rivers
41:11
and
41:11
creeks
41:11
and
41:11
lakes
41:12
and
41:12
lagoons
41:13
all
41:13
side
41:14
by
41:14
side
41:14
by
41:14
side
41:14
by
41:15
side
41:15
for
41:15
13
41:16
miles.
41:16
You
41:17
know,
41:17
that's,
41:18
that's
41:18
what
41:18
that
41:19
stretch
41:19
of
41:20
the
41:20
Rio
41:20
Negro
41:21
looks
41:21
like.
41:21
And
41:21
you're
41:21
not
41:21
going
41:22
to
41:22
see
41:22
that
41:22
or
41:23
experience
41:23
that
41:23
anywhere
41:24
else
41:24
on
41:24
the
41:24
planet.
41:26
And
41:27
then
41:28
our
41:28
trophy
41:28
fishery,
41:29
the
41:29
Rio
41:29
Delua,
41:30
you
41:30
have
41:30
to
41:31
fly
41:31
in
41:31
on
41:31
a
41:31
float
41:31
plane
41:32
because
41:32
the
41:32
water's
41:32
so
41:33
small
41:33
and
41:34
we
41:34
had
41:34
to,
41:34
we
41:35
stand
41:35
on
41:35
these
41:36
floating
41:37
air
41:37
conditioned
41:38
cabins
41:38
that
41:38
are
41:39
really
41:39
comfortable
41:40
and
41:40
you're
41:40
hunting
41:41
20
41:41
pound
41:42
peacock
41:42
bass
41:43
in
41:43
really
41:43
small
41:44
water.
41:45
That's
41:46
an
41:46
incredible
41:46
experience
41:47
that
41:47
you're
41:47
really
41:47
not
41:48
going
41:48
to
41:48
experience
41:48
anywhere
41:49
else.
41:49
But
41:50
I
41:50
would
41:50
say,
41:51
you
41:51
know,
41:51
if
41:51
I'm
41:51
the
41:51
kind
41:51
of.
41:52
If
41:52
I've
41:52
got
41:52
one
41:52
trip
41:53
that
41:53
I'm
41:53
going
41:53
to
41:53
do
41:53
next
41:53
year
41:54
and
41:54
I
41:54
have
41:54
a
41:54
lot
41:54
of
41:54
different
41:55
options
41:57
if
41:57
I've
41:58
done
41:58
saltwater,
42:00
you
42:00
know,
42:00
most
42:01
people
42:01
start
42:01
with
42:01
trout.
42:01
I'll
42:02
just
42:02
make
42:02
the
42:02
big
42:02
assumption.
42:03
You
42:03
know,
42:03
you
42:03
start
42:03
with
42:03
trout
42:04
with
42:04
the
42:04
fly
42:04
and
42:05
then
42:05
you've
42:05
done
42:05
some
42:05
salt
42:06
water.
42:06
If
42:07
you
42:07
really
42:07
enjoy
42:08
sight
42:08
fishing,
42:09
if
42:09
you
42:10
really
42:10
enjoy
42:12
fighting,
42:13
extremely
42:14
power,
42:14
powerful
42:15
fish.
42:15
But
42:16
you
42:16
want
42:16
to
42:16
see
42:16
that
42:16
and
42:17
experience
42:17
that
42:17
in
42:17
a
42:17
completely
42:18
different
42:18
environment.
42:19
Basically
42:20
you
42:20
can
42:20
take
42:20
the
42:20
fundamentals
42:21
that
42:21
you
42:21
already
42:22
have
42:23
and
42:23
have
42:24
a
42:24
completely
42:24
new
42:25
experience.
42:25
I
42:25
think
42:26
there's
42:26
something
42:26
really
42:26
attractive
42:27
about
42:28
that
42:29
if
42:30
you
42:31
have
42:31
never
42:31
been
42:31
out
42:31
of
42:32
the
42:32
country.
42:32
I
42:32
had
42:32
four
42:33
customers
42:33
this
42:33
last
42:33
season
42:34
that
42:34
have
42:35
never
42:35
been
42:35
out
42:36
of
42:36
the
42:36
country.
42:36
Two
42:37
of
42:37
them
42:37
were
42:37
retired
42:38
and
42:39
they
42:39
actually
42:39
chose
42:39
our
42:39
trip
42:40
to
42:40
be
42:41
their
42:41
first
42:42
out
42:42
of
42:42
the
42:42
country
42:42
trip.
42:43
They
42:43
were,
42:43
it
42:43
was
42:43
bold.
42:44
I
42:44
was
42:44
very,
42:44
very
42:44
proud
42:45
of
42:45
them.
42:45
And
42:45
they
42:46
were
42:46
all
42:47
trout
42:48
anglers.
42:49
Some
42:49
of
42:50
them
42:50
have
42:50
done
42:50
a
42:50
little
42:50
bit
42:50
of
42:51
bass,
42:51
but
42:51
not
42:51
much.
42:52
And
42:53
that
42:53
angler
42:54
is
42:55
just
42:55
such
42:55
an
42:55
amazing
42:56
big
42:56
adventure.
42:57
They
42:57
just
42:57
ate
42:58
it
42:58
up.
42:58
Everywhere
42:59
they
42:59
look
42:59
there
42:59
was
43:00
something
43:00
that
43:00
they
43:00
have
43:00
never
43:01
seen
43:02
or
43:02
experienced
43:03
before.
43:04
And
43:05
all
43:05
I
43:05
can
43:05
speak
43:05
to
43:06
is
43:06
just
43:06
the
43:06
uniqueness
43:07
of
43:07
this.
43:07
And
43:08
it's
43:08
something
43:08
very
43:09
few
43:09
people
43:09
have
43:09
really
43:10
done.
43:11
So
43:11
many
43:11
people
43:12
have
43:12
done
43:12
Bahamas
43:12
and
43:13
Belize
43:13
and
43:13
those
43:13
are
43:13
fantastic,
43:15
great,
43:15
great
43:15
places.
43:16
But
43:17
so
43:17
few
43:17
people
43:18
have
43:18
really
43:18
experienced
43:19
the
43:19
jungle
43:19
and
43:20
seen,
43:21
seen
43:21
what
43:21
lives
43:21
in
43:21
the
43:22
jungle.
43:22
You
43:22
look
43:22
up
43:22
and
43:23
see,
43:23
you
43:23
know,
43:23
30
43:24
macaws
43:24
flying
43:24
over
43:25
your
43:25
head.
43:27
I,
43:28
for
43:28
me,
43:28
I
43:29
can't
43:29
imagine
43:29
a
43:30
life
43:30
without
43:31
experiencing
43:31
the
43:32
Amazon.
43:33
When
43:34
I
43:34
close
43:34
my
43:34
eyes
43:35
at
43:35
night,
43:35
when
43:35
I
43:35
go
43:35
to
43:35
bed,
43:36
I,
43:36
I'm
43:37
in
43:37
the
43:37
Amazon.
43:37
That's
43:38
just,
43:38
that's
43:38
what
43:38
my
43:39
mind
43:39
gives
43:40
me
43:40
a
43:40
picture
43:40
of.
43:41
And
43:42
that's,
43:44
that's
43:44
definitely
43:44
what
43:44
our
43:45
customers
43:45
see
43:45
as
43:45
well.
43:47
Yeah,
43:47
very
43:47
neat.
43:47
And
43:48
you
43:48
know,
43:48
we
43:48
haven't
43:48
even
43:48
talked
43:49
about
43:49
the
43:49
peacock
43:49
bass
43:50
at
43:50
all.
43:50
Yeah.
43:51
Oh
43:52
yeah.
43:52
Oh
43:52
yeah,
43:52
that's
43:53
right.
43:53
Yeah.
43:53
And
43:54
so,
43:54
you
43:54
know,
43:54
obviously
43:55
that's
43:55
what
43:55
people
43:55
think
43:56
of
43:56
when
43:56
they
43:56
think
43:57
about
43:57
making
43:57
the
43:57
trip
43:57
down
43:58
to
43:58
South
43:58
America
43:59
to
43:59
fish
43:59
on
43:59
the
43:59
Amazon.
44:00
You
44:00
know,
44:00
tell
44:00
us
44:01
a
44:01
little
44:01
bit
44:01
more
44:01
about
44:02
how,
44:02
you
44:03
know,
44:03
anglers,
44:04
you
44:04
know,
44:04
target
44:04
peacock
44:05
bass
44:05
on
44:05
the
44:05
fly
44:05
and
44:06
kind
44:06
of
44:06
the
44:06
unique
44:07
attributes
44:07
of
44:07
your
44:07
peacock
44:08
bass.
44:08
Fishery,
44:09
sure.
44:10
There
44:10
are
44:10
a
44:10
lot
44:10
of
44:10
favorite
44:11
things
44:11
for
44:12
me
44:12
and
44:12
for
44:13
my
44:13
customers
44:13
when
44:14
it
44:14
comes
44:14
to
44:14
peacock
44:14
bass.
44:15
One
44:16
of
44:16
them
44:16
is,
44:17
you
44:18
know,
44:18
we
44:18
fish
44:18
from
44:19
boats.
44:19
We
44:19
fish
44:19
from
44:19
either
44:20
bass
44:20
trackers
44:21
on
44:22
the
44:22
bigger
44:22
rivers,
44:22
or
44:23
we
44:23
fish
44:23
in
44:23
smaller
44:23
john
44:24
boats
44:24
that
44:25
have
44:25
casting
44:25
platforms
44:26
on
44:27
the
44:27
smaller
44:27
rivers.
44:28
One
44:29
thing
44:29
that
44:29
I
44:29
really
44:30
enjoy
44:31
about
44:31
our
44:31
strategies
44:32
is
44:32
it
44:33
is
44:33
very
44:33
much
44:34
a
44:34
partner
44:35
to
44:35
style
44:36
of
44:36
fishing.
44:36
It's
44:37
not
44:37
one
44:38
person
44:38
gets
44:38
up
44:39
and
44:39
fishes,
44:39
and
44:39
then
44:40
when
44:40
he
44:40
misses
44:40
his
44:40
shot,
44:41
they
44:41
switch
44:41
around,
44:42
which
44:42
would
44:43
be,
44:43
you
44:43
know,
44:43
very
44:43
common
44:44
in
44:44
a
44:44
saltwater
44:44
experience.
44:45
Or
44:46
it's
44:46
not
44:46
a
44:46
competitive
44:47
thing
44:47
at
44:47
all.
44:48
And
44:48
I'll
44:49
explain
44:49
that.
44:50
Peacock
44:51
bass
44:52
are
44:52
the
44:52
apex
44:53
predators
44:54
of
44:54
their
44:55
environment.
44:56
And
44:56
think
44:57
about
44:57
that
44:57
for
44:57
a
44:57
minute.
44:58
Think
44:58
about
44:58
just
44:59
how
44:59
hostile
45:00
that
45:00
environment
45:01
is.
45:01
Everything
45:02
is
45:02
trying
45:02
to
45:02
kill
45:02
something
45:03
in
45:03
their
45:04
environment,
45:04
and
45:04
they're
45:04
at
45:05
the
45:05
top
45:05
of
45:05
their
45:05
game.
45:07
The
45:08
only
45:08
way
45:08
that
45:08
a
45:08
peacock
45:09
bass
45:09
can
45:09
really
45:09
get
45:10
eaten
45:10
is
45:10
if
45:10
they
45:10
are
45:11
injured,
45:11
then
45:12
they're,
45:12
you
45:13
know,
45:13
then
45:13
they're
45:13
taken.
45:15
But
45:15
otherwise,
45:16
they
45:16
can
45:16
outmaneuver
45:17
out
45:17
power
45:18
or
45:18
just
45:18
eat
45:19
anything
45:19
that's
45:19
trying
45:20
to
45:20
get
45:20
to
45:20
them.
45:21
So
45:21
because
45:21
of
45:22
that,
45:22
they're
45:23
not
45:23
afraid
45:23
of
45:23
us.
45:24
They're
45:24
not
45:24
afraid
45:24
of
45:24
anything.
45:25
We
45:26
can
45:26
literally
45:27
move
45:27
our
45:27
boat
45:28
into
45:28
a
45:28
lagoon.
45:30
We
45:31
can
45:31
make
45:31
a
45:31
cast
45:32
to
45:33
a
45:33
fish
45:33
that
45:33
might
45:34
be
45:34
hiding
45:34
up
45:34
under
45:35
some
45:35
structure
45:35
that's
45:36
ready
45:36
to
45:36
ambush.
45:37
And
45:37
as
45:38
we
45:38
pull
45:38
our
45:38
fly
45:39
out
45:39
of
45:39
that
45:39
structure,
45:40
that
45:40
fish
45:41
will
45:41
come
45:41
out
45:41
and
45:42
will
45:42
charge
45:42
the
45:42
fly.
45:43
And
45:44
at
45:45
that
45:45
moment,
45:45
you
45:46
want
45:46
to
45:46
actually
45:46
speed
45:47
up
45:47
your
45:47
fly.
45:48
The
45:48
minute
45:48
you
45:49
stop
45:49
moving
45:49
your
45:49
fly,
45:50
he
45:50
loses
45:50
interest,
45:50
and
45:51
he's
45:51
gone.
45:51
But
45:52
if
45:52
you
45:52
speed
45:52
up
45:52
the
45:53
fly,
45:53
you
45:53
cannot
45:54
get
45:54
that
45:54
fly
45:54
away
45:55
from
45:55
that
45:55
fish
45:55
fast
45:56
enough.
45:56
They
45:57
come
45:57
and
45:57
bolt
45:57
at
45:58
it.
45:58
And
45:58
what's
45:58
really
45:58
fun
45:59
is
45:59
that
45:59
they
45:59
will
45:59
come
46:00
right
46:00
to
46:00
the
46:00
boat.
46:01
Most
46:02
of
46:02
the
46:02
takes,
46:03
most
46:03
of
46:03
the
46:03
eats
46:03
that
46:04
we
46:04
get
46:04
are
46:04
right
46:05
at
46:05
the
46:05
rod
46:05
tip,
46:06
easily
46:06
within
46:07
20ft
46:07
of
46:07
our.
46:08
Of
46:08
our.
46:08
Of
46:09
our.
46:10
Of
46:10
our
46:11
rod
46:11
tip.
46:11
So
46:11
we
46:11
can
46:11
actually
46:12
see
46:12
every.
46:13
Every
46:13
strike,
46:13
which
46:14
is
46:14
so
46:14
exciting
46:15
and
46:17
coming
46:17
in.
46:17
Coming
46:18
back
46:18
to
46:18
circling
46:19
back
46:19
to
46:19
the
46:19
partner
46:20
idea,
46:21
they're
46:21
always
46:21
in
46:22
numbers.
46:23
So
46:24
if
46:24
you
46:25
draw
46:25
one
46:26
peacock
46:26
bass
46:27
out
46:27
of
46:27
the
46:27
structure,
46:28
you're
46:28
doing
46:29
everything
46:29
right.
46:30
Your
46:30
speed
46:30
is
46:30
right,
46:31
your
46:31
depth
46:31
is
46:31
right,
46:31
and
46:32
you're
46:32
ready
46:32
to
46:32
hook
46:32
up.
46:33
That
46:33
fish
46:33
eats
46:34
and
46:34
turns
46:35
well,
46:35
there's
46:36
another
46:36
fish
46:36
right
46:36
behind
46:37
it.
46:37
In
46:37
fact,
46:38
there's
46:38
probably
46:38
six
46:38
fish
46:39
right
46:39
behind
46:39
it.
46:39
And.
46:40
And
46:40
probably
46:41
that
46:41
second
46:41
fish
46:41
is
46:42
bigger.
46:43
So
46:43
what
46:43
that
46:43
means
46:43
is
46:44
that
46:44
the
46:44
second
46:44
angler
46:45
now
46:45
has
46:45
an
46:45
opportunity
46:46
to
46:46
lay
46:47
that
46:47
fly
46:47
literally
46:48
25ft
46:49
away
46:49
from
46:49
them,
46:50
right
46:50
behind
46:51
his
46:51
buddy's
46:51
fish
46:52
and
46:52
you
46:52
get
46:52
a
46:53
double.
46:54
And
46:54
you
46:54
can
46:55
literally
46:55
spend
46:55
the
46:55
day
46:56
having
46:56
doubles.
46:58
So
46:58
you're
46:59
not
46:59
competing
46:59
with
46:59
your
47:00
buddy,
47:00
you're
47:00
working
47:00
with
47:01
each
47:01
other.
47:01
You
47:01
want
47:01
your
47:02
buddy
47:02
to
47:02
catch
47:02
a
47:02
fish
47:03
because
47:03
you
47:04
can
47:04
snake
47:04
the
47:04
fish
47:04
right
47:04
behind
47:05
him.
47:06
That's
47:06
just
47:07
really
47:07
fun.
47:07
And
47:07
to
47:08
me,
47:08
that's
47:08
unique.
47:09
I
47:09
don't
47:09
know
47:09
of
47:09
any
47:09
other
47:09
fishery
47:10
that's
47:10
like
47:10
that.
47:11
So
47:11
when
47:12
I,
47:12
when
47:12
I
47:12
go
47:12
back,
47:13
when
47:13
I
47:13
go
47:13
back
47:13
to
47:14
talk
47:14
about
47:14
the
47:14
numbers,
47:15
once
47:15
we
47:15
implemented
47:16
that
47:16
doubles
47:17
strategy,
47:18
you
47:18
know,
47:18
our
47:18
numbers
47:18
went
47:19
up
47:19
30%,
47:20
40%.
47:21
And
47:22
so
47:22
it's
47:22
just
47:22
a
47:23
day
47:23
of
47:23
laughing
47:24
and
47:25
it's
47:25
a
47:25
day
47:25
of
47:25
like,
47:25
I
47:25
can't
47:26
believe
47:26
we
47:26
actually
47:26
had.
47:27
Years
47:27
ago,
47:28
I
47:28
had
47:28
a
47:28
peacock
47:28
bass
47:29
charged
47:29
my
47:29
flies
47:30
so
47:30
fast,
47:30
I
47:30
pulled
47:31
it
47:31
out
47:31
of
47:31
the
47:31
water,
47:31
took
47:32
completely
47:32
did
47:32
the
47:33
wrong
47:33
thing.
47:34
And
47:34
that
47:34
fish
47:34
literally
47:35
swam
47:35
and
47:35
hit
47:36
the
47:36
boat,
47:36
literally
47:36
ran
47:37
right
47:37
into
47:37
the
47:37
boat.
47:39
So
47:40
they're
47:41
just,
47:41
they're
47:41
just
47:42
beasts.
47:43
They
47:43
bully
47:44
everything
47:44
in
47:44
the,
47:44
in
47:44
the
47:45
lagoons
47:46
and
47:47
you
47:47
can
47:47
catch
47:48
them
47:49
as
47:50
an
47:50
ambush
47:51
predator.
47:52
Sometimes
47:52
they
47:52
will
47:52
go
47:53
out
47:53
in
47:53
schools
47:54
and
47:55
very
47:55
much
47:55
like
47:56
in
47:56
saltwater,
47:56
basically,
47:57
the,
47:57
the,
47:59
the
47:59
smaller
47:59
the
48:00
fish,
48:00
the
48:00
bigger
48:00
the
48:01
school.
48:01
The
48:02
bigger
48:02
the
48:02
fish,
48:02
the
48:02
smaller
48:03
the
48:03
school.
48:03
So,
48:04
you
48:04
know,
48:04
if
48:05
you
48:05
see
48:06
a
48:06
school
48:07
of
48:07
six
48:07
or
48:08
seven
48:08
or
48:08
eight
48:08
pounders,
48:08
there's
48:09
probably
48:09
going
48:09
to
48:09
be
48:10
six
48:10
or
48:10
seven
48:10
of
48:10
those.
48:11
If
48:12
there's
48:12
20
48:12
pounders,
48:13
there's
48:13
probably
48:13
two
48:13
or
48:14
three
48:14
of
48:14
those.
48:15
If
48:15
there's
48:15
two
48:16
pounders,
48:16
there's
48:16
probably
48:17
50
48:17
of
48:17
those.
48:18
And
48:20
we
48:20
love
48:21
finding
48:22
those
48:22
schools
48:23
of
48:23
the
48:23
smaller
48:24
fish
48:24
on
48:24
day
48:25
one
48:26
because
48:26
those
48:26
two
48:27
pound
48:27
fish
48:28
will
48:28
teach
48:28
you
48:28
exactly
48:30
the
48:30
proper
48:31
presentation,
48:32
the
48:32
proper
48:32
speed,
48:33
the
48:33
proper
48:33
depth.
48:34
And
48:34
they
48:34
really
48:35
teach
48:35
you
48:35
how
48:35
to
48:35
set
48:35
the
48:36
hook
48:36
because
48:36
they're
48:36
so
48:37
quick.
48:38
And
48:38
a
48:38
lot
48:38
of
48:39
times
48:39
we'll
48:39
target
48:40
those,
48:41
those
48:41
smaller
48:41
fish
48:42
on
48:42
the
48:42
first
48:42
day
48:43
just
48:43
to
48:44
get
48:44
everyone's
48:44
confidence
48:45
up
48:45
and
48:46
understanding
48:47
of
48:47
what
48:47
these
48:48
fish
48:49
want
48:49
and
48:49
what
48:49
it'll
48:50
take
48:50
to
48:50
get
48:50
them
48:50
to
48:51
do
48:51
that
48:51
kill,
48:51
hit
48:53
and
48:53
all
48:54
those
48:54
things.
48:55
You
48:55
can
48:56
see
48:56
now
48:56
why
48:56
I
48:56
fish
48:56
every
48:57
day
48:57
there.
48:57
I
48:57
literally
48:58
fish
48:59
six
48:59
days
48:59
a
48:59
week,
49:00
10
49:00
hours
49:00
a
49:00
day,
49:01
eight
49:01
to
49:01
10
49:02
hours
49:02
a
49:02
day,
49:03
and
49:03
I'll
49:04
do
49:04
it
49:04
for
49:04
three
49:04
months,
49:04
almost
49:05
four
49:05
months
49:05
every
49:05
year,
49:06
because
49:06
I
49:07
can't
49:07
get
49:07
enough
49:07
of
49:07
it.
49:09
And
49:10
we
49:10
literally
49:10
learn
49:11
every
49:11
week.
49:12
We
49:12
learn
49:12
something
49:13
new
49:13
every
49:13
week
49:13
about
49:13
those
49:14
fish.
49:15
Yeah,
49:15
that's
49:16
really
49:16
neat.
49:16
And
49:16
the
49:16
cool
49:17
thing
49:17
is
49:17
because,
49:17
I
49:17
mean,
49:17
I
49:18
watch
49:18
your
49:18
Instagram
49:18
feed.
49:19
There
49:19
are
49:19
lots
49:20
of
49:20
others.
49:20
I
49:20
wouldn't
49:20
call
49:20
them
49:21
bycatch,
49:21
but
49:21
there's
49:21
some
49:22
other
49:22
interesting
49:22
stuff
49:23
that
49:23
people
49:23
like
49:23
to
49:24
catch
49:24
down
49:24
in
49:24
the
49:24
Amazon
49:25
too,
49:25
right?
49:25
Yes,
49:26
yes,
49:27
absolutely.
49:28
There
49:28
are
49:28
a
49:29
lot
49:29
of
49:29
species,
49:30
subspecies
49:30
of
49:30
peacock
49:31
bass.
49:31
There's
49:32
about
49:32
16
49:32
species
49:33
of
49:33
peacock
49:33
bass,
49:34
so
49:35
there's
49:35
a
49:35
lot
49:35
of
49:35
variety
49:36
there.
49:36
And
49:36
each
49:37
of
49:37
our
49:37
locations
49:38
is
49:40
chosen
49:40
to
49:41
kind
49:41
of
49:41
feature
49:41
a
49:41
particular
49:42
species
49:42
of
49:42
peacock
49:43
bass.
49:44
But
49:44
there's
49:45
a
49:45
lot
49:45
of
49:45
other
49:45
things
49:46
if
49:46
you
49:46
just
49:46
want
49:46
to
49:46
take
49:46
a
49:46
break.
49:48
You
49:48
can
49:49
catch
49:49
all
49:49
the,
49:49
all
49:49
the
49:49
piranha
49:50
you
49:50
want
49:50
on
49:51
any
49:51
of
49:51
our
49:51
locations.
49:52
A
49:52
lot
49:53
of
49:53
times
49:54
I'll
49:54
hook
49:54
up
49:55
little
49:55
spinning
49:55
rods
49:57
with
49:57
a
49:57
bait
49:58
hook
49:58
and
49:59
just
49:59
some
49:59
bait
49:59
from
49:59
lunch,
50:00
some,
50:00
some
50:00
extra
50:01
food
50:01
from
50:02
lunch.
50:02
And
50:03
on
50:03
the,
50:04
on
50:04
our
50:05
Rio
50:05
Negro
50:06
trips
50:06
on
50:06
the
50:06
mothership,
50:07
we'll
50:07
just
50:07
sit
50:07
off
50:07
the
50:07
back
50:08
of
50:08
the
50:08
ship
50:08
and
50:08
just
50:08
catch
50:09
piranha
50:09
after
50:09
piranha
50:10
after
50:10
piranha.
50:10
It's
50:11
just
50:11
like
50:11
fishing
50:11
for
50:11
bluegill.
50:12
You
50:12
know,
50:12
they're
50:12
everywhere.
50:14
We
50:15
also
50:15
have
50:15
catfish
50:16
in
50:16
all
50:16
of
50:16
our
50:16
locations,
50:17
and
50:17
that's
50:17
not
50:17
something
50:18
we
50:18
fish
50:18
for
50:18
a
50:19
lot.
50:19
You
50:20
know,
50:20
most
50:20
of
50:20
my
50:20
guests
50:20
don't
50:21
really
50:21
care
50:21
about
50:21
bait
50:22
fishing,
50:22
but
50:23
just
50:23
this
50:23
last
50:24
season
50:24
we
50:25
had
50:25
some
50:25
wonderful
50:25
return
50:26
guests
50:26
come.
50:27
They
50:27
actually
50:28
came
50:28
rigged
50:29
and
50:29
ready
50:29
for
50:29
catfish.
50:30
And
50:31
the
50:31
guys
50:31
were
50:31
thrilled.
50:32
They're
50:32
like,
50:32
oh,
50:32
yeah,
50:32
we
50:32
know
50:33
exactly
50:33
where
50:33
they
50:33
are.
50:33
I'm
50:34
like,
50:34
wait,
50:34
you
50:34
know
50:34
where
50:34
they
50:34
are
50:35
and
50:35
you've
50:35
never
50:35
told
50:35
me?
50:36
They're
50:37
like,
50:37
well,
50:37
you
50:37
never
50:37
asked
50:37
because
50:38
I'm
50:38
always
50:38
throwing
50:38
a
50:38
fly.
50:39
And
50:40
so
50:40
those
50:40
customers
50:41
are
50:41
catching
50:41
big
50:41
red
50:42
tail
50:42
catfish
50:43
every
50:43
day.
50:44
Just
50:45
an
50:45
absolute
50:45
blast.
50:46
I
50:46
think
50:46
one
50:46
was
50:46
up
50:47
to
50:47
70,
50:47
75
50:48
pounds.
50:48
We
50:48
had
50:48
another
50:49
one
50:49
that
50:49
was
50:49
over
50:49
80
50:50
pounds.
50:51
Talk
50:51
about
50:52
variety.
50:53
And
50:53
then
50:54
there
50:54
are
50:54
plenty
50:54
of
50:54
others
50:54
too.
50:55
There's
50:56
a
50:56
small
50:57
fish
50:57
called
50:57
a
50:57
mantra
50:58
shot,
50:58
which
50:58
is
50:59
very
50:59
trout
51:00
shaped
51:01
and
51:01
they
51:02
holding
51:02
current
51:02
just
51:03
like
51:03
trout.
51:03
And
51:04
you
51:04
can
51:04
throw
51:04
little
51:05
ant
51:05
patterns
51:05
or
51:06
beetle
51:06
patterns
51:07
and
51:07
they'll
51:07
come
51:07
up
51:08
and
51:08
sip
51:08
it
51:08
dry.
51:10
Actually
51:10
this
51:10
year
51:11
just
51:11
started
51:11
to
51:12
bring
51:12
in
51:12
a
51:12
couple
51:12
six
51:13
and
51:13
seven
51:13
weights
51:14
with
51:14
a
51:14
floating
51:15
line
51:15
for
51:15
those
51:15
fish.
51:16
And
51:17
so,
51:17
you
51:17
know,
51:17
if
51:17
you
51:17
just,
51:18
if
51:18
you
51:18
want
51:18
to
51:19
experience,
51:20
you
51:20
know,
51:21
we're
51:21
seeing
51:21
more
51:21
and
51:21
more
51:22
anglers
51:22
that
51:22
have
51:23
starting
51:24
kind
51:24
of
51:24
a
51:25
species
51:25
checklist
51:26
and
51:27
they'll
51:28
by
51:28
the
51:28
end
51:28
of
51:28
the
51:29
week,
51:29
they
51:29
want
51:29
to
51:29
check
51:29
off
51:30
five
51:30
or
51:30
six
51:30
new
51:31
species
51:31
and,
51:31
and
51:31
thankfully
51:32
we
51:32
have
51:32
the
51:32
fisheries
51:33
that
51:33
can
51:33
do
51:33
that.
51:35
Very,
51:35
very
51:36
neat.
51:36
And
51:36
I
51:36
know
51:36
you've
51:37
got
51:38
three
51:38
distinct
51:39
hanging
51:39
experiences
51:40
and
51:40
one
51:40
of
51:40
them
51:40
is
51:40
relatively
51:41
new.
51:41
You
51:41
want
51:41
to
51:41
let
51:42
folks
51:42
kind
51:42
of
51:42
know
51:42
the
51:43
three
51:43
flavors
51:43
of
51:43
ice
51:43
cream
51:44
you
51:44
have.
51:44
Oh,
51:45
sure,
51:45
yeah.
51:45
You
51:46
know,
51:46
the,
51:46
the
51:46
easiest
51:47
one
51:47
for
51:47
people
51:47
to
51:47
understand
51:48
and
51:49
often
51:49
the
51:49
first
51:49
trip
51:50
that
51:50
people
51:50
book
51:50
with
51:51
us
51:51
is
51:51
the
51:51
Rio
51:51
Negro
51:53
and
51:54
big,
51:55
beautiful,
51:55
big,
51:56
big
51:56
river.
51:57
We're
51:57
in
51:57
a
51:58
Gorgeous
51:59
mothership.
52:00
It's
52:00
a
52:00
130
52:01
foot
52:01
long,
52:02
three
52:03
level
52:04
yacht
52:05
and
52:05
it
52:05
is
52:05
built
52:06
with
52:06
beautiful
52:07
Brazilian
52:07
woods
52:08
on
52:08
the
52:08
inside.
52:10
Just
52:10
stunning.
52:11
We're
52:11
not,
52:12
we're
52:12
not
52:12
super
52:12
luxurious,
52:13
but
52:14
that
52:14
particular
52:14
boat
52:15
is
52:15
very,
52:15
very
52:15
nice.
52:17
And
52:17
one,
52:17
one
52:18
nice
52:18
thing
52:18
about
52:18
that
52:18
trip
52:19
is
52:19
that
52:20
everyone
52:20
gets
52:20
their
52:20
own
52:21
room.
52:21
It's
52:21
just
52:22
our
52:22
standard
52:22
operation.
52:23
There
52:24
is
52:25
single
52:25
occupancy
52:26
staterooms
52:26
with
52:26
your
52:27
own
52:27
private
52:27
bath
52:28
and
52:29
air
52:29
conditioning.
52:30
And
52:31
to
52:31
my
52:31
knowledge,
52:31
I
52:31
don't
52:32
know
52:32
of
52:32
anybody
52:32
else
52:33
who
52:33
offers
52:33
that
52:34
in
52:34
the
52:34
Amazon.
52:34
And
52:36
because
52:36
of
52:36
that,
52:36
we
52:37
can
52:37
comfortably
52:37
hold
52:38
10
52:38
to
52:38
12
52:38
customers.
52:39
They
52:39
all
52:39
get
52:39
their
52:40
own
52:40
space.
52:41
And
52:42
then
52:42
we
52:42
go
52:43
out
52:43
on
52:43
bass
52:44
trackers
52:45
and
52:47
we
52:47
just,
52:47
we
52:48
just
52:48
go
52:48
and
52:48
explore.
52:49
We
52:50
move
52:50
that
52:50
boat
52:51
almost
52:51
every
52:52
night,
52:53
which
52:53
is
52:53
a
52:53
big
52:54
expense,
52:55
but
52:55
it's
52:55
something
52:56
that
52:56
I
52:57
absolutely
52:57
insist
52:58
that
52:58
we
52:58
do
52:58
it.
52:59
I
52:59
want
52:59
to
52:59
make
53:00
sure
53:00
our
53:00
customers
53:01
see
53:01
as
53:01
much
53:03
variety
53:03
as
53:04
possible
53:04
and
53:05
just,
53:05
I
53:05
want
53:05
them
53:06
to
53:06
be
53:06
in
53:06
fresh
53:06
water
53:07
every
53:07
day.
53:08
And
53:08
it's
53:08
also
53:09
better
53:09
for
53:09
the
53:09
fishery.
53:10
We
53:10
don't
53:10
want
53:10
to
53:10
pound
53:11
the
53:11
fishery.
53:12
So
53:13
we
53:13
will
53:13
move
53:13
that
53:14
ship
53:14
upriver
53:15
and
53:15
then
53:16
midweek
53:16
we'll
53:16
go
53:16
and
53:17
we'll
53:17
meet
53:17
with
53:17
a
53:17
community
53:18
that
53:18
we're
53:18
working
53:19
very
53:19
closely
53:19
with.
53:20
We
53:20
do
53:20
some
53:21
humanitarian
53:21
work
53:22
with
53:22
them.
53:23
And
53:24
if
53:26
the
53:26
fishing
53:27
hasn't
53:27
been
53:28
stellar
53:29
like
53:29
we
53:29
had
53:29
planned,
53:30
we
53:30
actually
53:30
have
53:31
access
53:31
to
53:31
their
53:31
private
53:32
waters
53:33
if
53:33
we
53:34
want
53:34
to
53:34
do
53:34
this.
53:34
Nice
53:35
to
53:35
have
53:35
that
53:35
option
53:36
in
53:36
our
53:36
back
53:36
pockets.
53:38
While
53:39
we're
53:39
at
53:39
the
53:39
community,
53:41
we'll
53:41
always
53:41
do
53:42
community
53:42
lunch.
53:43
So
53:43
my
53:43
kitchen
53:44
crew
53:44
will
53:44
make
53:44
lunch
53:45
for
53:45
everyone
53:45
in
53:45
the
53:45
village
53:46
and
53:47
all
53:47
of
53:47
my
53:47
staff
53:47
and
53:48
all
53:48
of
53:48
my
53:48
guests,
53:48
we
53:48
all
53:49
just
53:49
hang
53:49
out
53:49
and
53:50
play
53:50
soccer
53:51
with
53:51
the
53:51
kids
53:52
and
53:52
eat
53:52
lunch
53:52
together.
53:53
And
53:54
you
53:54
know,
53:54
I
53:55
find
53:56
that
53:56
on
53:57
that
53:57
trip
53:57
home,
53:59
regardless
53:59
of
53:59
how
53:59
good
54:00
the
54:00
fishing
54:00
was,
54:01
people
54:01
talk
54:02
about
54:02
the
54:02
community.
54:03
That's
54:03
the
54:03
thing
54:04
that
54:04
really
54:05
sticks
54:06
with
54:06
them.
54:06
And
54:06
on
54:06
interesting,
54:07
that's
54:07
what
54:07
brings
54:07
people
54:08
back.
54:10
So
54:10
that's
54:10
a
54:10
really
54:10
unique,
54:11
a
54:11
unique
54:12
trip
54:12
for
54:12
us.
54:12
And
54:13
then,
54:13
you
54:13
know,
54:13
the
54:13
Renegar
54:14
has
54:14
great
54:15
fishing.
54:17
We
54:17
do
54:17
have
54:17
big
54:17
fish
54:18
in
54:18
there,
54:18
but
54:18
we
54:18
don't
54:18
have
54:19
high
54:19
populations
54:20
of
54:20
big
54:20
fish.
54:21
It's
54:21
not
54:22
like
54:22
what
54:22
it
54:22
used
54:22
to
54:23
be
54:23
and
54:24
it's
54:24
still
54:24
outstanding.
54:25
We
54:25
still
54:25
catch
54:25
22
54:26
pound
54:26
fish
54:26
there
54:26
every
54:27
season.
54:28
We
54:28
just
54:28
don't
54:28
get
54:29
a
54:29
lot
54:29
of
54:29
those.
54:30
So
54:30
a
54:30
lot
54:30
of
54:30
times
54:30
the
54:31
second
54:31
trip,
54:31
people
54:31
come
54:32
back
54:32
for
54:32
our
54:32
trophy
54:33
fishery.
54:34
So
54:34
our
54:35
trophy
54:35
fishery
54:36
is
54:36
the
54:36
Rio
54:36
de
54:36
Lua.
54:37
It's
54:38
actually
54:39
a
54:39
tributary
54:40
of
54:40
a
54:40
tributary
54:40
of
54:41
the
54:41
Rio
54:41
Negro.
54:42
It's
54:42
extremely
54:43
remote,
54:44
it's
54:44
small,
54:45
it
54:45
is
54:46
clear
54:46
water.
54:47
And
54:48
for
54:48
those
54:48
of
54:49
you
54:49
who
54:49
don't
54:49
know,
54:50
clear
54:50
water
54:51
in
54:51
the
54:51
Amazon
54:51
is
54:52
absolutely
54:52
unheard
54:52
of.
54:53
It's
54:53
very
54:53
difficult
54:54
to
54:54
find.
54:54
It's
54:54
usually
54:55
kind
54:55
of
54:55
a
54:56
like
54:56
a
54:56
coffee
54:57
with
54:57
milk.
54:58
Color,
54:59
coloration.
55:00
And
55:00
this
55:00
water
55:01
is
55:02
absolutely
55:02
beautiful.
55:03
It's
55:03
still
55:03
tannic,
55:04
it
55:04
has
55:05
that
55:05
beautiful
55:05
red
55:06
color
55:06
to
55:06
it.
55:07
But
55:07
it,
55:08
it
55:08
gives
55:08
us
55:08
opportunities
55:09
to
55:10
see
55:11
those
55:11
fish
55:11
moving
55:11
into
55:12
sight.
55:12
Fish.
55:13
And
55:14
when
55:14
you
55:14
suddenly
55:15
can
55:15
see
55:16
how
55:16
many
55:16
fish
55:17
are
55:17
in
55:17
that
55:17
water,
55:18
you
55:18
can
55:19
really
55:19
pick
55:19
and
55:19
choose
55:20
which
55:20
fish
55:20
you're
55:21
going
55:21
to
55:21
cast
55:21
to.
55:22
It's
55:22
a
55:23
completely
55:23
different
55:24
experience
55:25
compared
55:25
to
55:25
the
55:25
Rio
55:26
Negro.
55:26
So
55:27
the
55:27
Rio
55:27
Negro
55:28
is
55:28
lots
55:28
of
55:28
fish
55:29
in
55:29
big,
55:29
big,
55:30
big
55:30
water.
55:31
And
55:31
the
55:31
Rio
55:31
de
55:31
Lua
55:32
is
55:32
giant
55:33
fish
55:34
and
55:34
very
55:34
small
55:34
water.
55:36
It
55:36
comes
55:36
with
55:36
its
55:36
own
55:37
challenges.
55:38
Because
55:38
it's
55:38
small
55:39
water,
55:39
we
55:39
can't
55:39
get
55:39
a
55:39
mothership
55:40
in
55:40
there.
55:41
So
55:41
we
55:41
do
55:42
floating
55:42
cabin
55:42
strategy
55:44
and
55:45
that
55:45
is
55:45
double
55:45
occupancy.
55:47
So
55:47
bring
55:47
a
55:47
buddy
55:48
and
55:48
you
55:48
do
55:48
have
55:49
your
55:49
own
55:49
private
55:49
bath.
55:50
It's
55:50
all
55:50
air
55:50
conditions,
55:51
very,
55:51
very
55:51
comfortable.
55:53
We
55:54
had
55:54
cocktails
55:55
and
55:55
appetizers
55:56
out
55:56
on
55:56
the
55:56
beach.
55:57
And
55:57
one
55:58
thing
55:58
that
55:58
nobody
55:58
believes
55:59
us
55:59
until
55:59
they
55:59
come
56:00
down
56:00
and
56:00
experience
56:01
it
56:01
themselves.
56:01
We
56:02
don't
56:02
have
56:02
mosquitoes
56:03
in
56:03
the
56:04
jungle,
56:04
so
56:04
it's
56:04
very
56:05
easy
56:05
to
56:05
hang
56:05
out
56:05
on
56:05
the
56:06
beach.
56:07
We'll
56:07
set
56:07
up
56:07
a
56:08
pergola
56:08
so
56:08
we're
56:09
in
56:09
the
56:09
shade
56:09
and
56:09
we'll
56:09
just
56:09
sip
56:10
cocktails
56:10
and
56:11
watch
56:11
the
56:11
monkeys
56:12
hop
56:12
on
56:12
the
56:12
branches
56:13
and
56:13
we
56:13
don't
56:13
have
56:13
to
56:13
worry
56:14
about
56:14
bugs
56:14
at
56:14
all.
56:15
It's
56:15
pretty
56:16
remarkable.
56:17
And
56:17
then
56:17
we'll
56:18
have
56:18
dinner
56:19
in
56:19
a
56:19
nice
56:20
air
56:20
conditioned
56:21
floating
56:22
cabin
56:23
and
56:24
have
56:25
a
56:25
little
56:25
barbecue
56:25
if
56:26
we
56:26
want,
56:26
hang
56:26
out
56:26
on
56:26
the
56:27
beach,
56:27
watch
56:27
the
56:27
stars
56:28
and
56:28
then
56:28
crash
56:28
and
56:29
get
56:29
ready
56:29
for
56:29
the
56:29
next
56:29
day.
56:31
So
56:32
our
56:32
third
56:33
location
56:34
is
56:34
new
56:35
and
56:35
it
56:35
is
56:35
a
56:36
tattoo
56:36
gem.
56:37
Tattoo.
56:37
Gem
56:37
means
56:37
tattoo.
56:39
And
56:39
there's
56:39
a
56:40
very
56:41
unique,
56:42
rare
56:42
species
56:43
of
56:44
peacock
56:44
bass
56:45
in
56:45
that
56:45
one
56:45
and
56:46
they
56:46
call
56:46
the
56:46
vasiletti
56:47
and
56:48
they
56:48
are
56:48
absolutely
56:49
beautiful.
56:50
If
56:50
you
56:50
have
56:50
a
56:50
chance,
56:51
you
56:51
can
56:51
look
56:51
on
56:51
our
56:52
website.
56:52
That's
56:52
the
56:53
best
56:53
place
56:53
to
56:53
find
56:54
photos
56:54
of
56:54
them.
56:54
They're
56:54
very
56:55
rare,
56:55
very
56:55
hard
56:55
to
56:56
find.
56:57
Bright
56:57
yellow
56:59
bodies,
57:00
black,
57:00
black
57:01
marks
57:01
that
57:01
look
57:02
like
57:02
tattoos
57:03
and
57:03
then
57:04
beautiful
57:05
azul,
57:05
beautiful
57:06
blue
57:06
dorsal
57:07
fins.
57:07
They're
57:07
just
57:07
striking
57:09
and
57:09
they
57:10
aren't
57:10
as
57:11
big.
57:11
That
57:12
species
57:12
as
57:13
a
57:13
Tumensis
57:14
peacock
57:15
bass,
57:15
which
57:15
is
57:15
what
57:16
we
57:16
typically
57:17
target
57:17
in
57:18
the
57:18
Rio
57:18
de
57:18
Lua.
57:19
But
57:19
the
57:20
Vasileti
57:21
make
57:21
up
57:21
for
57:21
it
57:22
in
57:22
their
57:23
aggressiveness.
57:24
They
57:24
are
57:24
incredibly
57:25
aggressive.
57:26
Even
57:26
more
57:26
so.
57:27
The
57:28
reason
57:28
why
57:28
there
57:28
aren't
57:29
any
57:29
Tamentis
57:30
in
57:30
this
57:31
river
57:31
system
57:31
is
57:32
because
57:32
the
57:32
Vasileti
57:33
basically
57:33
pushed
57:33
them
57:34
all
57:34
out
57:34
or
57:34
eaten
57:34
them.
57:36
So,
57:37
you
57:37
know,
57:38
a
57:38
world
57:38
record
57:38
for
57:39
Vasileti
57:40
is
57:40
close
57:40
to
57:40
£18
57:42
and
57:42
we've
57:42
caught
57:43
16
57:43
and
57:43
17
57:44
pounders
57:44
in
57:44
this
57:45
water.
57:46
So
57:46
they're
57:46
a
57:47
very,
57:47
very
57:47
big
57:47
fish.
57:48
We
57:48
for
57:49
that
57:49
customer
57:49
who's
57:50
maybe
57:50
fished
57:51
our
57:51
other
57:51
locations
57:52
or
57:52
that
57:52
customer
57:53
who
57:53
really
57:53
wants
57:54
to
57:55
experience
57:55
a
57:55
species
57:56
that
57:56
very
57:56
few
57:56
people
57:57
have
57:57
caught,
57:58
the
57:58
Tattoo
57:59
Gem
57:59
is
57:59
a
57:59
great
58:00
option.
58:01
And
58:02
again
58:02
that's
58:02
small
58:02
water,
58:03
that's
58:03
also
58:03
clear
58:04
water.
58:04
We're
58:05
extremely
58:05
blessed
58:06
to
58:06
have
58:06
those,
58:06
those
58:07
fisheries
58:08
and
58:09
that's
58:10
floating
58:11
cabins.
58:11
So
58:12
very
58:12
similar
58:12
setup
58:13
to
58:13
our
58:13
Rio
58:14
D?
58:14
Lua.
58:14
So
58:14
we've
58:14
really
58:15
got
58:15
some
58:15
good
58:15
variety,
58:16
good
58:16
options
58:16
for
58:17
guests.
58:18
Interesting.
58:18
And
58:19
in
58:19
terms
58:19
of
58:19
time
58:20
of
58:20
year,
58:20
you
58:20
know,
58:21
how
58:21
does
58:21
that
58:21
work?
58:21
I
58:22
think
58:22
you
58:22
mentioned
58:22
you
58:22
don't,
58:23
you
58:23
know,
58:23
you're
58:23
not
58:23
on
58:23
the
58:24
Rio
58:24
Negro
58:24
during
58:25
high
58:25
water
58:25
but
58:26
you
58:26
know,
58:26
it's
58:26
just
58:26
for
58:26
people
58:27
that
58:27
are
58:27
working
58:28
that,
58:28
that
58:29
travel
58:29
calendar,
58:29
you
58:30
know,
58:30
what
58:30
windows
58:30
of
58:30
time
58:30
should
58:31
they
58:31
be
58:31
looking
58:31
for?
58:32
Yeah,
58:32
you
58:32
know
58:33
the
58:33
million
58:33
dollar
58:34
question
58:34
is
58:34
always
58:35
what
58:35
time
58:35
of
58:35
year.
58:35
You
58:36
know,
58:36
when
58:36
are
58:36
the
58:37
water
58:37
levels
58:37
going
58:37
to
58:37
be
58:38
optimal?
58:38
And
58:40
it
58:40
is
58:40
hard
58:40
to
58:40
imagine.
58:41
But
58:42
you
58:42
know,
58:42
I
58:43
talked
58:43
a
58:43
little
58:43
bit
58:43
about
58:43
how
58:44
big
58:44
the
58:44
Rio
58:44
Negro
58:45
is.
58:45
Well
58:46
you
58:46
know
58:46
that
58:47
river
58:47
will
58:47
go
58:47
up
58:48
or
58:48
down
58:49
in
58:49
depth
58:50
by
58:50
30ft
58:51
in
58:51
a
58:51
typical
58:52
day,
58:52
I'm
58:52
sorry,
58:53
in
58:53
a
58:53
typical
58:53
season.
58:54
So
58:55
just
58:55
imagine
58:55
for
58:55
a
58:55
moment
58:56
a
58:56
river
58:56
that's
58:56
10
58:57
miles
58:57
across,
58:57
13
58:58
miles
58:58
across
58:58
in
58:58
places
58:59
and
58:59
it
58:59
goes
59:00
up
59:01
30ft.
59:02
It's
59:02
just
59:02
a
59:02
massive
59:03
amount
59:03
of
59:03
water.
59:04
So
59:05
we
59:05
are
59:05
very
59:06
careful
59:06
to
59:06
time
59:07
our
59:08
season
59:09
right
59:09
when
59:09
that
59:10
water
59:10
has,
59:11
has
59:11
come,
59:12
started
59:12
to
59:12
come
59:12
down
59:13
for
59:13
a
59:13
couple
59:13
of
59:13
weeks
59:14
and
59:15
then
59:15
continues
59:16
to
59:16
go
59:16
down.
59:17
And
59:18
so
59:18
we're
59:18
there
59:19
mid
59:19
January
59:21
through
59:21
February,
59:22
sometimes
59:23
into
59:23
into
59:24
March.
59:25
And
59:25
that
59:25
is
59:25
a,
59:26
that
59:26
is
59:26
a
59:26
really
59:26
special
59:27
time
59:28
on
59:28
the
59:28
Rio
59:28
Negro
59:29
because
59:29
those
59:29
fish
59:30
have
59:31
been,
59:32
have
59:32
not
59:32
been
59:33
fished
59:33
to,
59:33
for
59:33
about
59:33
three
59:34
months
59:34
by
59:35
any,
59:35
any
59:35
outfitters
59:36
and
59:38
we
59:38
can
59:38
get
59:38
in
59:39
there
59:40
and
59:40
fish
59:40
in
59:41
these
59:41
areas
59:42
that
59:44
they've
59:44
just
59:44
been
59:44
untouched.
59:45
And
59:45
the,
59:45
the
59:46
fish
59:46
are
59:46
very
59:46
aggressive,
59:47
they're
59:47
very
59:47
hungry.
59:48
So
59:48
we
59:48
really
59:48
love
59:48
that
59:49
time
59:49
frame
59:50
for
59:50
the
59:50
Rio
59:50
Negro.
59:51
Rio
59:51
de
59:51
Lua
59:52
are
59:52
the
59:52
same,
59:53
same
59:53
reasons.
59:54
And
59:54
the
59:54
tattoo
59:55
of
59:55
Gem,
59:55
quite
59:56
often
59:56
that
59:56
water
59:56
is
59:57
too
59:57
low
59:57
to
59:57
get
59:57
a
59:58
boat
59:58
in
59:58
there
59:58
to
59:59
get
59:59
our
59:59
job,
59:59
even
59:59
our
1:00:00
john
1:00:00
boats
1:00:00
in
1:00:00
there.
1:00:01
And
1:00:01
so
1:00:02
September
1:00:02
and
1:00:03
October
1:00:03
are
1:00:03
ideal
1:00:04
water
1:00:04
levels
1:00:05
for
1:00:06
our
1:00:06
trophy
1:00:06
fishery,
1:00:07
Rue
1:00:07
Dalua.
1:00:08
And
1:00:08
then
1:00:08
really
1:00:09
we're
1:00:09
just
1:00:09
in
1:00:09
the
1:00:09
Tattoo
1:00:10
Gem
1:00:10
in
1:00:10
November
1:00:11
and
1:00:12
I
1:00:12
mean
1:00:13
that's
1:00:13
the
1:00:13
only
1:00:13
time
1:00:14
those,
1:00:14
those
1:00:14
two
1:00:14
rivers
1:00:15
are
1:00:15
fished.
1:00:16
So
1:00:17
those,
1:00:18
those
1:00:18
rivers
1:00:18
are
1:00:19
basically
1:00:19
rested
1:00:19
for
1:00:20
for
1:00:20
10
1:00:20
months
1:00:20
a
1:00:21
year
1:00:22
which
1:00:22
is
1:00:23
just
1:00:24
a
1:00:24
mind
1:00:24
boggling
1:00:25
to
1:00:25
think
1:00:25
about.
1:00:26
Again
1:00:27
we're
1:00:27
really
1:00:27
blessed
1:00:27
to
1:00:28
have
1:00:28
those
1:00:28
fisheries.
1:00:28
So
1:00:29
we're
1:00:29
there
1:00:29
January
1:00:30
and
1:00:30
February
1:00:31
and
1:00:31
then
1:00:31
September
1:00:32
through
1:00:33
November
1:00:33
right
1:00:34
up
1:00:34
until
1:00:34
Thanksgiving.
1:00:35
Nobody
1:00:36
wants
1:00:36
to
1:00:36
travel
1:00:36
on
1:00:36
Thanksgiving.
1:00:37
And
1:00:37
I
1:00:38
totally
1:00:38
get
1:00:38
that.
1:00:39
Yeah,
1:00:40
yeah,
1:00:40
it's
1:00:41
interesting.
1:00:41
I
1:00:41
mean,
1:00:41
particularly
1:00:42
now,
1:00:42
you
1:00:42
know,
1:00:42
fast
1:00:43
forward
1:00:43
and
1:00:43
think
1:00:43
about
1:00:43
Cheeseman
1:00:44
Canyon
1:00:44
and
1:00:45
thinking
1:00:45
about
1:00:45
that
1:00:45
not
1:00:45
being
1:00:46
fished
1:00:46
for
1:00:46
10
1:00:46
months,
1:00:47
right?
1:00:47
Oh,
1:00:47
exactly,
1:00:48
Exactly.
1:00:49
Mind
1:00:50
boggling.
1:00:50
Yeah.
1:00:51
And
1:00:51
so,
1:00:51
you
1:00:52
know,
1:00:52
I
1:00:52
think
1:00:52
people
1:00:52
have
1:00:52
been
1:00:52
able
1:00:53
to
1:00:53
get
1:00:53
a
1:00:53
little
1:00:53
bit
1:00:53
of
1:00:53
an
1:00:54
idea
1:00:54
about
1:00:54
kind
1:00:54
of,
1:00:55
you
1:00:55
know,
1:00:55
how
1:00:55
you
1:00:55
think
1:00:55
about
1:00:56
things
1:00:56
and
1:00:56
how
1:00:56
your
1:00:56
approach
1:00:57
is
1:00:57
different.
1:00:58
You
1:00:58
know,
1:00:58
why
1:00:58
don't
1:00:58
you
1:00:59
put
1:00:59
a
1:00:59
finer
1:00:59
point
1:01:00
on
1:01:00
kind
1:01:01
of
1:01:01
what
1:01:01
sets
1:01:01
Nomadic
1:01:02
Waters
1:01:03
apart
1:01:03
from
1:01:03
other
1:01:03
outfitters
1:01:04
that
1:01:04
are
1:01:04
in
1:01:04
the
1:01:04
Amazon?
1:01:05
Sure,
1:01:06
that,
1:01:06
that's
1:01:06
an
1:01:07
important
1:01:07
question.
1:01:07
You
1:01:08
know,
1:01:08
we.
1:01:09
We
1:01:09
are
1:01:09
blessed
1:01:10
to
1:01:10
have
1:01:10
great
1:01:10
competition.
1:01:11
There's
1:01:11
great
1:01:12
competitors
1:01:12
out
1:01:12
there.
1:01:13
There's
1:01:13
some
1:01:13
really
1:01:14
good
1:01:14
outfitters
1:01:14
in
1:01:14
the
1:01:15
Amazon.
1:01:16
I
1:01:16
think
1:01:16
as
1:01:17
people
1:01:17
are
1:01:17
looking
1:01:18
at
1:01:19
who
1:01:19
they
1:01:19
should
1:01:20
book
1:01:20
with,
1:01:21
there
1:01:22
are
1:01:22
a
1:01:22
couple
1:01:22
things
1:01:22
that
1:01:22
just
1:01:23
make
1:01:23
us
1:01:23
different
1:01:24
and
1:01:24
unique.
1:01:25
And
1:01:25
one
1:01:26
of
1:01:26
them
1:01:26
is,
1:01:26
you
1:01:26
know,
1:01:27
there
1:01:27
are
1:01:27
a
1:01:27
lot
1:01:27
of
1:01:27
agencies
1:01:28
out
1:01:28
there.
1:01:28
There's
1:01:28
a
1:01:28
lot
1:01:28
of
1:01:28
booking
1:01:29
agencies.
1:01:30
They're
1:01:31
American
1:01:31
companies
1:01:31
who
1:01:32
actually
1:01:32
hire
1:01:33
Brazilian
1:01:34
fishing
1:01:34
companies
1:01:34
to
1:01:35
run
1:01:35
things
1:01:35
for
1:01:35
them.
1:01:37
We
1:01:37
are
1:01:37
actually
1:01:37
not
1:01:37
a
1:01:38
booking
1:01:38
agency.
1:01:38
This
1:01:39
is
1:01:39
our
1:01:39
family
1:01:39
business.
1:01:40
I
1:01:40
think
1:01:40
that
1:01:40
makes
1:01:40
us
1:01:41
really
1:01:41
unique.
1:01:42
I
1:01:42
think
1:01:42
the
1:01:42
owner
1:01:44
fishing
1:01:44
with
1:01:44
guests
1:01:45
every
1:01:45
day,
1:01:45
that's
1:01:46
extremely
1:01:46
unique.
1:01:48
We
1:01:48
are
1:01:48
actually
1:01:49
the
1:01:49
only
1:01:49
Orvis
1:01:49
with
1:01:50
the
1:01:50
exclusive
1:01:50
Orvis
1:01:51
endorsed
1:01:51
expedition
1:01:52
for
1:01:53
the
1:01:53
country
1:01:53
of
1:01:53
Brazil.
1:01:54
We're
1:01:54
very
1:01:54
proud
1:01:55
of
1:01:55
that.
1:01:56
That's
1:01:56
a
1:01:56
very
1:01:56
big
1:01:56
deal
1:01:57
for
1:01:57
us.
1:01:58
Good
1:01:58
partnership
1:01:59
there.
1:02:00
And
1:02:01
we,
1:02:01
as
1:02:01
soon
1:02:01
as
1:02:02
we
1:02:02
can
1:02:02
get
1:02:02
it
1:02:02
on
1:02:02
the
1:02:02
website,
1:02:04
we
1:02:04
will
1:02:04
announce
1:02:05
that
1:02:05
we
1:02:05
are
1:02:05
part
1:02:06
of
1:02:06
the
1:02:06
Winston
1:02:06
Preferred
1:02:07
Lodge
1:02:07
program,
1:02:08
which
1:02:08
is
1:02:08
very
1:02:09
important
1:02:10
to
1:02:10
me.
1:02:10
I've
1:02:10
been
1:02:11
a
1:02:11
lifelong
1:02:11
fan
1:02:12
of
1:02:12
Winston
1:02:12
as
1:02:13
a
1:02:13
company
1:02:14
and
1:02:16
with
1:02:16
Cabela's.
1:02:17
Cabela's
1:02:17
has
1:02:17
a
1:02:17
special
1:02:19
signature
1:02:19
hosted
1:02:20
event
1:02:20
where
1:02:20
it's
1:02:21
invitation
1:02:21
only,
1:02:22
basically.
1:02:23
And
1:02:24
they're
1:02:24
booking
1:02:25
with
1:02:25
us.
1:02:25
They're
1:02:25
booking
1:02:26
us
1:02:26
two
1:02:26
to
1:02:26
three
1:02:27
weeks
1:02:27
every
1:02:27
year
1:02:27
in
1:02:27
the
1:02:28
Rio
1:02:28
Negro.
1:02:28
They
1:02:29
just,
1:02:29
they
1:02:29
just
1:02:29
bought
1:02:30
up
1:02:30
the
1:02:30
rest
1:02:30
of
1:02:30
my
1:02:31
Rio
1:02:31
Negro
1:02:32
season
1:02:32
in
1:02:32
2026,
1:02:34
those
1:02:35
things.
1:02:36
It
1:02:36
sounds
1:02:37
like
1:02:37
I'm
1:02:37
name
1:02:37
dropping,
1:02:38
but
1:02:38
I
1:02:38
think
1:02:38
for
1:02:39
someone
1:02:39
who's
1:02:39
just
1:02:39
going
1:02:40
into
1:02:40
this
1:02:40
fresh,
1:02:41
they
1:02:41
need
1:02:41
to
1:02:41
understand
1:02:42
that
1:02:43
some
1:02:43
of
1:02:43
the
1:02:43
biggest
1:02:44
brands
1:02:44
in
1:02:44
the
1:02:44
business
1:02:46
are
1:02:47
supporting
1:02:47
us
1:02:48
and
1:02:48
booking
1:02:48
with
1:02:48
us
1:02:49
and
1:02:49
they're
1:02:49
coming
1:02:50
back.
1:02:50
And
1:02:51
I
1:02:51
think
1:02:51
this
1:02:51
is
1:02:51
really
1:02:52
important.
1:02:52
I
1:02:52
think
1:02:52
that
1:02:53
should
1:02:53
really
1:02:53
put
1:02:53
some
1:02:53
people's
1:02:54
minds
1:02:55
at
1:02:55
ease.
1:02:57
And
1:02:57
I
1:02:57
think
1:02:58
probably
1:02:59
the
1:02:59
biggest
1:02:59
thing
1:02:59
that
1:03:00
sets
1:03:00
us
1:03:00
apart,
1:03:01
there's
1:03:01
a
1:03:01
lot
1:03:01
of
1:03:01
things,
1:03:02
but
1:03:02
I
1:03:03
think
1:03:03
our
1:03:03
humanitarian
1:03:04
work,
1:03:04
the
1:03:04
work
1:03:05
that
1:03:05
we
1:03:05
do
1:03:05
with
1:03:05
the
1:03:05
communities.
1:03:07
There
1:03:07
are
1:03:07
plenty
1:03:08
of
1:03:08
fishing
1:03:08
companies
1:03:08
that
1:03:09
do
1:03:09
that
1:03:09
kind
1:03:09
of
1:03:09
thing
1:03:10
and
1:03:10
I'm
1:03:10
psyched.
1:03:11
There
1:03:11
needs
1:03:12
to
1:03:12
be
1:03:12
more
1:03:12
and
1:03:12
more
1:03:12
and
1:03:13
more.
1:03:13
But
1:03:13
I
1:03:13
think
1:03:14
what's
1:03:14
unique
1:03:14
about
1:03:15
us
1:03:15
is
1:03:15
that
1:03:15
that's
1:03:16
our
1:03:16
heritage,
1:03:17
that's
1:03:17
our
1:03:17
roots.
1:03:18
That's
1:03:18
where
1:03:18
we
1:03:18
started.
1:03:19
We
1:03:19
originally
1:03:20
started
1:03:20
as
1:03:20
a
1:03:20
humanitarian
1:03:21
group
1:03:22
with
1:03:22
a
1:03:23
great,
1:03:23
great
1:03:23
passion
1:03:23
and
1:03:24
experience
1:03:24
in
1:03:24
the
1:03:24
fishing
1:03:25
industry.
1:03:26
But
1:03:26
we,
1:03:28
that's
1:03:29
the
1:03:29
purpose
1:03:29
of
1:03:30
us
1:03:30
being
1:03:30
in
1:03:30
Brazil,
1:03:31
frankly,
1:03:31
that's
1:03:32
why
1:03:32
we're
1:03:32
in
1:03:32
the
1:03:32
Amazon,
1:03:33
is
1:03:34
to
1:03:34
do
1:03:34
the
1:03:34
work
1:03:34
that
1:03:34
we
1:03:35
do
1:03:35
and,
1:03:36
and,
1:03:36
and
1:03:37
we
1:03:37
can
1:03:37
do
1:03:37
it
1:03:37
while
1:03:38
we're
1:03:38
sharing
1:03:38
this
1:03:39
amazing
1:03:39
experience
1:03:40
with
1:03:40
our
1:03:40
customers.
1:03:41
So
1:03:42
I
1:03:42
think
1:03:42
there's
1:03:42
some,
1:03:42
a
1:03:42
few
1:03:43
things
1:03:43
there
1:03:43
that
1:03:43
really
1:03:44
make
1:03:44
us
1:03:45
different.
1:03:46
Yeah,
1:03:46
and
1:03:46
I
1:03:46
would
1:03:46
say
1:03:46
too,
1:03:47
you
1:03:47
know,
1:03:47
I
1:03:47
know
1:03:48
you've
1:03:48
even
1:03:48
gone
1:03:48
so
1:03:48
far
1:03:49
as
1:03:49
to
1:03:49
form
1:03:49
a
1:03:49
separate,
1:03:50
not
1:03:50
for
1:03:50
profit.
1:03:51
What
1:03:51
is
1:03:51
it?
1:03:51
Parallel
1:03:51
research,
1:03:52
parallel
1:03:53
resource
1:03:55
to
1:03:55
support
1:03:55
your
1:03:56
work.
1:03:56
That's
1:03:57
right.
1:03:58
We,
1:03:59
you
1:03:59
know,
1:03:59
post
1:04:00
pandemic,
1:04:01
all
1:04:02
outfitters
1:04:02
were
1:04:02
in
1:04:03
trouble
1:04:03
for
1:04:04
many,
1:04:04
many
1:04:04
reasons.
1:04:04
And
1:04:05
we
1:04:05
went,
1:04:05
we
1:04:06
lost
1:04:06
two
1:04:06
years
1:04:07
of
1:04:07
work.
1:04:08
And
1:04:09
when
1:04:09
we
1:04:09
were
1:04:09
able
1:04:09
to
1:04:09
get
1:04:10
back
1:04:10
in
1:04:10
there,
1:04:11
when
1:04:12
everything
1:04:12
opened
1:04:12
up
1:04:12
again,
1:04:13
you
1:04:13
know,
1:04:13
we
1:04:14
suddenly
1:04:14
realized
1:04:15
that,
1:04:16
you
1:04:16
know,
1:04:16
we,
1:04:16
we
1:04:17
were
1:04:17
self
1:04:17
funding
1:04:18
all
1:04:18
this
1:04:18
humanitarian
1:04:19
work.
1:04:19
We
1:04:19
were
1:04:20
paying
1:04:20
with
1:04:21
our
1:04:21
own,
1:04:21
our
1:04:21
own
1:04:21
private
1:04:22
money
1:04:22
or
1:04:24
if
1:04:24
we
1:04:24
had
1:04:24
a
1:04:24
profitable
1:04:25
year,
1:04:25
we
1:04:25
would
1:04:25
have
1:04:25
the,
1:04:26
the
1:04:26
company
1:04:26
profits
1:04:27
paid
1:04:27
for
1:04:28
the
1:04:28
humanitarian
1:04:29
work.
1:04:29
And
1:04:30
when
1:04:30
we
1:04:30
rolled
1:04:30
into
1:04:30
the
1:04:31
Rio
1:04:31
Negro,
1:04:31
we
1:04:31
just
1:04:31
suddenly
1:04:32
realized
1:04:32
this
1:04:32
is,
1:04:33
we
1:04:33
cannot
1:04:34
afford
1:04:35
to
1:04:35
do
1:04:35
any
1:04:35
of
1:04:35
this
1:04:36
work.
1:04:36
And
1:04:37
it
1:04:38
was
1:04:38
really
1:04:38
difficult,
1:04:39
it
1:04:39
was
1:04:39
a
1:04:40
hard
1:04:40
thing
1:04:40
to
1:04:40
swallow
1:04:40
because
1:04:41
again,
1:04:42
that's
1:04:42
our
1:04:42
heartbeat.
1:04:43
That's
1:04:44
incredibly
1:04:45
important
1:04:45
to
1:04:45
us.
1:04:45
And
1:04:46
we
1:04:47
had
1:04:47
some
1:04:47
customers
1:04:49
fishing
1:04:49
with
1:04:50
us
1:04:50
from
1:04:50
Texas
1:04:50
and
1:04:51
I
1:04:51
man,
1:04:51
thank
1:04:51
God
1:04:52
for
1:04:52
Texans.
1:04:52
I
1:04:53
just
1:04:53
have
1:04:53
to
1:04:53
say
1:04:55
these
1:04:56
gentlemen
1:04:56
came
1:04:56
to
1:04:56
me
1:04:58
on
1:04:58
the
1:04:58
second
1:04:59
to
1:04:59
the
1:04:59
last
1:05:00
night
1:05:01
of
1:05:01
their
1:05:01
trip
1:05:01
and
1:05:01
they
1:05:01
said,
1:05:02
michael,
1:05:02
we're,
1:05:02
we're
1:05:03
not
1:05:03
going
1:05:03
to
1:05:03
fish
1:05:03
tomorrow.
1:05:04
I'm
1:05:04
like,
1:05:04
whoa,
1:05:04
whoa,
1:05:05
whoa.
1:05:05
Everything
1:05:05
okay?
1:05:06
Oh,
1:05:06
yeah,
1:05:06
everything's
1:05:07
fine.
1:05:08
Instead,
1:05:09
you
1:05:09
know,
1:05:09
we're
1:05:10
going
1:05:10
to
1:05:10
sleep
1:05:10
in,
1:05:10
get
1:05:10
some
1:05:11
breakfast,
1:05:11
rest
1:05:11
up,
1:05:12
and
1:05:12
then
1:05:12
we
1:05:13
want
1:05:13
you
1:05:13
guys
1:05:14
to
1:05:15
present
1:05:15
to
1:05:15
us
1:05:16
and
1:05:16
we
1:05:16
really
1:05:17
want
1:05:17
to
1:05:17
hear
1:05:17
all
1:05:17
the
1:05:17
details
1:05:18
about
1:05:18
what
1:05:19
you're
1:05:19
doing
1:05:19
with
1:05:19
these
1:05:20
communities.
1:05:20
We
1:05:20
want
1:05:20
to
1:05:21
hear
1:05:21
it
1:05:21
all.
1:05:22
Don't
1:05:22
hold
1:05:23
back.
1:05:23
Because
1:05:23
at
1:05:23
the,
1:05:24
up
1:05:24
until
1:05:24
this
1:05:24
point,
1:05:25
we
1:05:25
really
1:05:25
hadn't.
1:05:26
It's
1:05:27
not
1:05:27
something
1:05:27
that
1:05:27
we've
1:05:27
shared
1:05:28
with
1:05:28
a
1:05:28
lot
1:05:28
of
1:05:28
people.
1:05:28
The
1:05:28
customers
1:05:29
see
1:05:29
the
1:05:29
work
1:05:29
that
1:05:30
we
1:05:30
do,
1:05:31
but
1:05:31
it's
1:05:31
not
1:05:31
something
1:05:32
we
1:05:32
actually,
1:05:32
you
1:05:33
know,
1:05:33
present.
1:05:34
And
1:05:35
they
1:05:35
wanted
1:05:35
to
1:05:35
hear
1:05:36
all
1:05:36
the
1:05:36
details.
1:05:36
And
1:05:36
so
1:05:37
make
1:05:37
a
1:05:37
long
1:05:37
story
1:05:37
short,
1:05:39
we
1:05:39
spent
1:05:39
the
1:05:39
day
1:05:40
in
1:05:40
meetings
1:05:41
telling
1:05:42
them
1:05:42
what
1:05:42
we
1:05:42
wanted
1:05:42
to
1:05:42
do.
1:05:43
And,
1:05:43
and
1:05:44
how
1:05:44
we've
1:05:44
done
1:05:45
it
1:05:45
in
1:05:45
the
1:05:45
past
1:05:45
and
1:05:45
what
1:05:45
we
1:05:46
want
1:05:46
to
1:05:46
do
1:05:46
in
1:05:46
the
1:05:46
future.
1:05:47
And
1:05:47
they
1:05:47
made
1:05:48
a,
1:05:49
an
1:05:50
offer
1:05:50
and
1:05:51
they
1:05:51
said,
1:05:51
look,
1:05:51
you
1:05:52
need
1:05:52
to
1:05:52
do
1:05:52
this
1:05:52
the
1:05:53
right
1:05:53
way.
1:05:54
And
1:05:54
that
1:05:55
would
1:05:55
include
1:05:55
starting
1:05:56
your
1:05:56
own
1:05:57
non
1:05:58
profit
1:05:58
organization
1:05:59
entity
1:06:00
that
1:06:01
is
1:06:01
501c3
1:06:03
approved
1:06:03
with
1:06:03
the
1:06:03
IRS.
1:06:05
And
1:06:07
you
1:06:07
know,
1:06:08
we
1:06:08
set
1:06:08
a
1:06:08
schedule
1:06:08
with
1:06:09
the
1:06:09
exact
1:06:09
work
1:06:09
that,
1:06:10
that
1:06:10
you
1:06:10
want
1:06:11
to
1:06:11
do.
1:06:12
And
1:06:12
we
1:06:12
will
1:06:13
fund
1:06:14
this
1:06:15
season
1:06:16
of
1:06:16
humanitarian
1:06:17
work.
1:06:17
And
1:06:18
let
1:06:18
me
1:06:19
tell
1:06:19
you,
1:06:19
Marvin,
1:06:20
that
1:06:20
was
1:06:20
a
1:06:21
lot
1:06:21
of
1:06:21
money.
1:06:21
That
1:06:21
was
1:06:22
a
1:06:22
big
1:06:22
check.
1:06:23
And
1:06:23
they
1:06:23
just
1:06:23
stepped
1:06:24
right
1:06:24
up
1:06:24
and
1:06:24
said,
1:06:24
we're
1:06:25
going
1:06:25
to
1:06:25
fund
1:06:25
it.
1:06:26
It's
1:06:26
up
1:06:26
to
1:06:26
you
1:06:26
to
1:06:26
raise
1:06:27
the
1:06:27
money
1:06:27
in
1:06:27
the
1:06:27
future,
1:06:27
but
1:06:28
this
1:06:28
year
1:06:28
we've
1:06:28
got
1:06:28
you.
1:06:30
And
1:06:31
it
1:06:32
was
1:06:32
a
1:06:32
remarkable
1:06:33
experience.
1:06:34
And
1:06:35
the
1:06:35
work
1:06:35
that
1:06:35
we
1:06:36
were
1:06:36
able
1:06:36
to
1:06:36
do,
1:06:37
especially
1:06:37
post
1:06:38
pandemic,
1:06:39
there's
1:06:40
so
1:06:40
much
1:06:40
work
1:06:40
to
1:06:40
do.
1:06:41
And
1:06:42
so
1:06:42
that
1:06:42
was
1:06:42
a
1:06:42
genesis
1:06:43
of
1:06:43
parallel
1:06:43
resource.
1:06:44
And
1:06:44
we
1:06:44
call
1:06:44
it
1:06:45
parallel
1:06:45
resource
1:06:45
because
1:06:46
on
1:06:47
the
1:06:47
Rio
1:06:47
Negro,
1:06:48
for
1:06:48
example,
1:06:49
we
1:06:50
have
1:06:50
a
1:06:50
separate
1:06:50
support
1:06:51
boat
1:06:51
that
1:06:52
follows
1:06:52
our
1:06:52
mothership.
1:06:53
It'll
1:06:54
hold
1:06:54
supplies
1:06:54
and
1:06:55
things
1:06:55
like
1:06:55
that,
1:06:55
but
1:06:55
it
1:06:56
basically
1:06:56
houses
1:06:57
our
1:06:57
medical
1:06:57
clinic
1:06:58
and
1:06:58
our
1:06:58
dental
1:06:58
clinic
1:06:59
and
1:06:59
it
1:07:00
stores
1:07:00
all
1:07:00
of
1:07:00
our
1:07:01
water
1:07:01
filtration
1:07:01
systems.
1:07:03
And
1:07:03
so
1:07:03
that
1:07:04
is
1:07:04
actually
1:07:04
a
1:07:04
parallel
1:07:05
resource
1:07:06
vessel
1:07:08
and
1:07:08
it
1:07:08
can
1:07:09
run
1:07:09
independently
1:07:10
or
1:07:10
it
1:07:10
can
1:07:10
run
1:07:11
alongside
1:07:11
with
1:07:11
us
1:07:12
as
1:07:12
we're,
1:07:12
as
1:07:12
we're
1:07:13
fishing.
1:07:13
Sometimes
1:07:14
there'll
1:07:14
be
1:07:14
an
1:07:14
emergency
1:07:15
and
1:07:15
villagers
1:07:16
will
1:07:16
come
1:07:16
up
1:07:16
to
1:07:16
us
1:07:16
and
1:07:17
say,
1:07:17
hey,
1:07:17
someone
1:07:18
just
1:07:18
took
1:07:18
a
1:07:18
bad
1:07:18
fall.
1:07:19
Do
1:07:19
you
1:07:19
have
1:07:19
any
1:07:19
medical
1:07:20
attention?
1:07:20
It's
1:07:20
like,
1:07:20
absolutely,
1:07:21
absolutely.
1:07:22
We
1:07:22
have
1:07:22
exactly,
1:07:23
you
1:07:23
know,
1:07:23
get
1:07:23
them
1:07:23
here
1:07:24
to
1:07:24
the
1:07:24
boat
1:07:24
and
1:07:24
we
1:07:24
can
1:07:24
help
1:07:25
them
1:07:25
out.
1:07:27
We
1:07:27
love
1:07:27
those
1:07:27
kind
1:07:28
of
1:07:28
opportunities
1:07:28
because
1:07:29
we
1:07:30
want
1:07:30
to
1:07:30
be
1:07:30
able
1:07:30
to,
1:07:31
to
1:07:31
help
1:07:31
them
1:07:31
when
1:07:32
they
1:07:32
come
1:07:32
to
1:07:32
us.
1:07:33
And
1:07:34
so
1:07:34
I'm
1:07:35
not
1:07:35
great
1:07:36
at
1:07:37
asking
1:07:37
for
1:07:38
donations.
1:07:39
In
1:07:39
fact,
1:07:39
I'm
1:07:39
pretty
1:07:40
terrible
1:07:40
at
1:07:40
it.
1:07:40
But
1:07:41
customers
1:07:42
see
1:07:42
what
1:07:42
we
1:07:42
do
1:07:43
and
1:07:43
especially
1:07:43
on
1:07:44
those
1:07:44
days
1:07:44
where
1:07:44
we're
1:07:44
having
1:07:45
lunch
1:07:46
and
1:07:46
they
1:07:46
can
1:07:46
see
1:07:48
it's
1:07:48
an
1:07:48
authentic
1:07:49
relationship.
1:07:50
It's
1:07:50
not
1:07:50
something,
1:07:51
it's
1:07:52
not
1:07:52
a
1:07:52
business
1:07:53
transaction
1:07:54
that,
1:07:54
that
1:07:54
we
1:07:54
have
1:07:54
with
1:07:55
these
1:07:56
families.
1:07:56
These
1:07:56
are
1:07:56
our
1:07:57
partners,
1:07:57
these
1:07:58
are
1:07:58
our
1:07:58
friends
1:07:58
and
1:07:59
we
1:07:59
help
1:07:59
them
1:07:59
a
1:07:59
lot
1:07:59
and
1:07:59
they
1:07:59
help
1:08:00
us.
1:08:00
You
1:08:00
know,
1:08:00
they
1:08:01
watch
1:08:01
our
1:08:01
backs
1:08:01
too.
1:08:03
And
1:08:04
so
1:08:04
that,
1:08:04
that's
1:08:05
the
1:08:05
side
1:08:05
of
1:08:05
the
1:08:05
business
1:08:05
that,
1:08:06
as
1:08:07
you
1:08:07
can
1:08:07
tell,
1:08:07
we're
1:08:08
passionate
1:08:08
about.
1:08:09
Yeah,
1:08:10
and
1:08:10
I
1:08:10
think
1:08:10
it's
1:08:11
so
1:08:11
important
1:08:11
too,
1:08:11
particularly,
1:08:12
you
1:08:12
know,
1:08:12
once
1:08:13
you
1:08:13
start
1:08:13
traveling
1:08:13
kind
1:08:14
of
1:08:14
outside
1:08:14
of
1:08:14
the
1:08:14
United
1:08:15
States
1:08:15
or,
1:08:15
you
1:08:15
know,
1:08:16
Europe
1:08:16
and
1:08:16
places
1:08:17
like
1:08:17
that,
1:08:17
you
1:08:17
know,
1:08:18
you
1:08:18
know,
1:08:18
not
1:08:19
to
1:08:20
treat
1:08:20
these
1:08:20
places
1:08:21
like,
1:08:21
you
1:08:21
know,
1:08:22
consumable
1:08:22
resources
1:08:23
like,
1:08:23
you
1:08:23
know,
1:08:24
Kansas
1:08:24
offerings,
1:08:25
right?
1:08:25
Oh,
1:08:26
absolutely.
1:08:27
A
1:08:27
part
1:08:27
of
1:08:28
our
1:08:28
core
1:08:28
values
1:08:29
is
1:08:29
exploration
1:08:30
without
1:08:30
exploitation.
1:08:31
It's,
1:08:32
you
1:08:32
know,
1:08:32
that's
1:08:33
one
1:08:33
of
1:08:33
the
1:08:33
filters
1:08:33
that
1:08:33
we
1:08:33
run
1:08:34
every
1:08:34
decision
1:08:34
through.
1:08:36
You
1:08:36
know,
1:08:36
are
1:08:36
you
1:08:37
really
1:08:37
doing
1:08:37
this
1:08:37
for
1:08:38
the
1:08:38
right
1:08:38
reasons?
1:08:38
And
1:08:39
what
1:08:39
are
1:08:39
the
1:08:39
long
1:08:40
term
1:08:40
impacts
1:08:40
of
1:08:41
our,
1:08:41
of
1:08:41
our
1:08:41
choices?
1:08:43
You
1:08:44
know,
1:08:44
here's
1:08:44
a
1:08:44
great
1:08:44
example
1:08:45
of
1:08:45
a
1:08:45
bad,
1:08:47
of
1:08:48
well
1:08:48
meaning
1:08:49
people
1:08:49
making
1:08:50
really
1:08:50
bad
1:08:50
decision.
1:08:52
About
1:08:52
15
1:08:53
years
1:08:53
ago,
1:08:54
a
1:08:54
group
1:08:55
of
1:08:55
well
1:08:55
meaning
1:08:56
foreigners
1:08:56
came
1:08:57
through
1:08:57
that
1:08:57
were
1:08:57
dentists.
1:08:58
And
1:08:59
you
1:08:59
know,
1:08:59
dental
1:09:00
health
1:09:00
is
1:09:00
a
1:09:00
major
1:09:01
issue
1:09:02
in
1:09:02
these
1:09:02
communities.
1:09:03
I
1:09:03
mean,
1:09:03
most
1:09:03
people
1:09:04
have
1:09:04
lost
1:09:04
all
1:09:04
their
1:09:04
teeth
1:09:05
by
1:09:05
their
1:09:05
mid-20s.
1:09:07
And
1:09:08
anyways,
1:09:09
15
1:09:09
years
1:09:10
ago,
1:09:11
a
1:09:11
group
1:09:11
came
1:09:11
in
1:09:12
and
1:09:13
put
1:09:13
braces
1:09:14
on
1:09:15
all
1:09:15
the
1:09:15
kids
1:09:16
in
1:09:16
the
1:09:16
community.
1:09:17
I
1:09:17
mean,
1:09:17
that's
1:09:17
a
1:09:17
real
1:09:17
head
1:09:18
scratcher.
1:09:18
Who
1:09:18
thought
1:09:19
this
1:09:19
up?
1:09:19
I
1:09:19
have
1:09:19
no
1:09:19
idea.
1:09:20
I
1:09:21
know
1:09:21
they
1:09:21
meant
1:09:21
well.
1:09:21
I
1:09:22
know
1:09:22
they
1:09:22
thought
1:09:22
they
1:09:22
were
1:09:22
helping,
1:09:24
but
1:09:24
the
1:09:24
problem
1:09:24
is
1:09:25
they
1:09:26
never
1:09:26
came
1:09:26
back.
1:09:29
So
1:09:30
we
1:09:30
came
1:09:30
into
1:09:31
this
1:09:31
village
1:09:32
and
1:09:33
my,
1:09:33
my
1:09:33
dentist
1:09:34
Anderson
1:09:35
at
1:09:35
the
1:09:35
end
1:09:36
of
1:09:36
the
1:09:36
day
1:09:36
came
1:09:36
in,
1:09:36
I'm
1:09:36
like,
1:09:37
all
1:09:37
right,
1:09:37
well
1:09:37
how
1:09:37
many,
1:09:38
how
1:09:38
many
1:09:38
teeth
1:09:38
did
1:09:38
you
1:09:39
pull
1:09:39
today?
1:09:39
Because
1:09:39
a
1:09:39
lot
1:09:39
of
1:09:39
times
1:09:40
we'll,
1:09:40
we'll
1:09:40
have
1:09:41
a
1:09:41
little
1:09:41
chart
1:09:41
on
1:09:42
the
1:09:42
wall
1:09:42
of
1:09:42
like,
1:09:42
this
1:09:42
is
1:09:42
how
1:09:43
many
1:09:43
fish
1:09:43
we
1:09:43
caught
1:09:43
today.
1:09:44
This
1:09:44
is
1:09:44
how
1:09:44
many
1:09:44
teeth
1:09:44
we
1:09:45
pulled
1:09:45
today.
1:09:46
And
1:09:46
he
1:09:46
goes,
1:09:47
you
1:09:47
know,
1:09:47
Michael,
1:09:47
I,
1:09:48
we
1:09:48
didn't
1:09:49
pull
1:09:49
any
1:09:49
teeth
1:09:49
at
1:09:49
all
1:09:50
today.
1:09:50
I'm
1:09:50
like,
1:09:50
what
1:09:51
were
1:09:51
you
1:09:51
doing?
1:09:51
Everything
1:09:52
okay?
1:09:52
He
1:09:53
goes,
1:09:53
you
1:09:53
will
1:09:53
not
1:09:54
believe
1:09:54
what
1:09:54
I
1:09:54
did
1:09:55
today.
1:09:56
He
1:09:56
says,
1:09:56
I
1:09:56
spent
1:09:57
the
1:09:57
day
1:09:57
taking
1:09:58
braces
1:09:58
off
1:09:59
of
1:09:59
adults.
1:10:01
And
1:10:02
just
1:10:02
imagine
1:10:03
the
1:10:03
pain
1:10:03
those
1:10:03
people
1:10:04
went
1:10:04
through.
1:10:04
Imagine
1:10:05
the
1:10:05
discomfort
1:10:06
of
1:10:07
having
1:10:08
to
1:10:08
live
1:10:08
with
1:10:08
that.
1:10:08
And
1:10:10
I'm
1:10:10
shocked
1:10:10
they
1:10:10
allowed
1:10:11
us
1:10:11
into
1:10:11
their
1:10:11
village.
1:10:11
If
1:10:12
you
1:10:12
think
1:10:12
about
1:10:12
it,
1:10:13
you
1:10:13
know,
1:10:14
you
1:10:14
just
1:10:14
think
1:10:14
about
1:10:15
these
1:10:15
could
1:10:15
not
1:10:16
have
1:10:16
had
1:10:16
good
1:10:16
memories
1:10:17
of
1:10:17
those
1:10:17
foreigners
1:10:18
coming
1:10:18
in
1:10:18
there
1:10:19
and
1:10:20
thinking
1:10:20
they
1:10:20
were
1:10:20
doing
1:10:20
good
1:10:21
work.
1:10:23
So
1:10:23
for
1:10:23
us,
1:10:23
it's
1:10:24
very
1:10:24
important
1:10:24
that
1:10:25
we
1:10:25
are
1:10:25
not
1:10:26
doing
1:10:26
more
1:10:26
damage
1:10:27
thinking
1:10:27
that
1:10:27
we're
1:10:27
actually
1:10:28
helping
1:10:28
these
1:10:28
people.
1:10:29
And
1:10:30
I
1:10:30
think
1:10:30
we've
1:10:31
got
1:10:31
a
1:10:31
really
1:10:31
good
1:10:31
track
1:10:31
record
1:10:32
of
1:10:32
that.
1:10:33
And
1:10:35
a
1:10:35
story
1:10:35
like
1:10:36
that,
1:10:36
it's
1:10:36
easy
1:10:36
to
1:10:36
see
1:10:36
the
1:10:37
contribution
1:10:38
that
1:10:38
my
1:10:38
people
1:10:39
are
1:10:39
making
1:10:39
with
1:10:40
these
1:10:40
families
1:10:40
is
1:10:41
just
1:10:41
remarkable.
1:10:42
It's
1:10:43
an
1:10:43
interesting
1:10:43
thing.
1:10:44
You
1:10:44
know
1:10:44
when
1:10:44
you
1:10:44
watch
1:10:44
and
1:10:45
you
1:10:45
see
1:10:45
people
1:10:46
being
1:10:46
helpful
1:10:46
to
1:10:47
feel
1:10:47
good
1:10:47
about
1:10:47
themselves
1:10:48
as
1:10:48
opposed
1:10:48
to
1:10:48
being
1:10:49
truly
1:10:49
helpful.
1:10:50
Boy,
1:10:50
you
1:10:51
said
1:10:51
it
1:10:51
right
1:10:51
there.
1:10:53
And
1:10:53
you
1:10:54
see
1:10:54
that
1:10:54
in
1:10:54
a
1:10:54
lot
1:10:54
of
1:10:54
different
1:10:54
places.
1:10:55
And
1:10:55
we
1:10:55
don't
1:10:55
need
1:10:56
to
1:10:56
go
1:10:56
down
1:10:56
that
1:10:56
philosophical
1:10:57
rat
1:10:57
hole,
1:10:57
but
1:10:57
it's
1:10:58
a
1:10:58
really
1:10:58
interesting
1:10:58
thing.
1:11:00
It's
1:11:01
like
1:11:01
you
1:11:01
go
1:11:01
somewhere
1:11:01
and
1:11:01
it's
1:11:01
like,
1:11:02
well,
1:11:02
they
1:11:02
lose
1:11:02
all
1:11:02
their
1:11:02
teeth
1:11:02
by
1:11:03
their
1:11:03
mid-20s.
1:11:03
You're
1:11:03
like,
1:11:03
well,
1:11:04
clearly
1:11:04
they
1:11:04
need
1:11:04
to
1:11:04
be
1:11:04
straight.
1:11:06
Yeah,
1:11:06
right,
1:11:06
exactly.
1:11:07
It's
1:11:08
like,
1:11:08
who
1:11:08
Thought
1:11:08
of
1:11:08
this.
1:11:09
Who
1:11:09
approved
1:11:09
of
1:11:09
this?
1:11:12
So,
1:11:12
you
1:11:12
know,
1:11:12
Michael,
1:11:13
folks
1:11:13
have
1:11:14
questions.
1:11:14
I
1:11:14
know.
1:11:15
I
1:11:15
think
1:11:15
I
1:11:15
originally
1:11:16
met
1:11:16
you
1:11:16
probably
1:11:17
on
1:11:17
the
1:11:17
show
1:11:17
circuit.
1:11:18
Are
1:11:18
you
1:11:18
guys
1:11:18
going
1:11:18
to
1:11:18
be
1:11:18
out
1:11:19
there
1:11:19
with
1:11:19
everybody
1:11:19
else
1:11:20
and
1:11:20
early
1:11:20
2025?
1:11:21
Absolutely.
1:11:22
You
1:11:22
know,
1:11:22
we,
1:11:23
we
1:11:23
love
1:11:23
the
1:11:23
shows.
1:11:25
Typically
1:11:26
we'll
1:11:26
do
1:11:26
three
1:11:26
or
1:11:26
four
1:11:27
of
1:11:27
Ben
1:11:28
shows
1:11:28
with
1:11:28
the
1:11:28
fly
1:11:29
fishing
1:11:29
show
1:11:30
this
1:11:30
year.
1:11:30
We've
1:11:31
got
1:11:31
some
1:11:32
health
1:11:32
issues
1:11:33
at
1:11:33
home,
1:11:33
closer
1:11:34
to
1:11:34
home.
1:11:34
So
1:11:34
we'll
1:11:34
only
1:11:35
be
1:11:35
able
1:11:35
to
1:11:35
do
1:11:35
the
1:11:35
Atlanta
1:11:36
show
1:11:36
this
1:11:36
year.
1:11:37
We'll
1:11:37
be
1:11:37
back
1:11:38
in
1:11:38
full
1:11:38
force
1:11:38
in
1:11:38
2026
1:11:39
and
1:11:40
definitely
1:11:40
will
1:11:40
support
1:11:41
Ben.
1:11:42
Big,
1:11:43
big
1:11:43
fans.
1:11:43
And
1:11:43
then,
1:11:45
you
1:11:45
know,
1:11:45
Bo
1:11:45
Beasley
1:11:46
with
1:11:46
the
1:11:46
Virginia
1:11:47
Fly
1:11:47
Fishing
1:11:47
and
1:11:47
Wine
1:11:48
Festival
1:11:48
or
1:11:49
definitely
1:11:51
a
1:11:51
big
1:11:51
part
1:11:51
of
1:11:51
those
1:11:52
shows.
1:11:52
Really
1:11:52
enjoy
1:11:54
that
1:11:55
crowd.
1:11:55
That's
1:11:55
a
1:11:55
great
1:11:56
show.
1:11:56
If
1:11:56
you
1:11:56
haven't
1:11:56
seen
1:11:57
it,
1:11:57
it's
1:11:57
definitely
1:11:57
worth
1:11:58
the
1:11:58
drive
1:11:58
up
1:11:59
and
1:12:01
be
1:12:01
there.
1:12:01
And
1:12:02
then
1:12:02
Trout
1:12:02
Fest,
1:12:02
we
1:12:03
won't
1:12:03
be
1:12:03
able
1:12:03
to
1:12:03
do
1:12:03
this
1:12:04
year,
1:12:04
but
1:12:04
we'll
1:12:04
be
1:12:04
back
1:12:05
there
1:12:05
next
1:12:06
year.
1:12:06
And
1:12:07
shows
1:12:07
are
1:12:07
just
1:12:08
a
1:12:08
great
1:12:08
time
1:12:08
to
1:12:08
catch
1:12:08
up
1:12:09
with
1:12:09
friends
1:12:09
and
1:12:10
customers.
1:12:11
And
1:12:11
interestingly
1:12:12
enough,
1:12:12
we
1:12:13
don't
1:12:13
book
1:12:13
a
1:12:13
lot
1:12:13
at
1:12:14
the
1:12:14
shows.
1:12:15
A
1:12:15
lot
1:12:15
of
1:12:15
the
1:12:15
booking
1:12:16
that
1:12:16
we
1:12:16
do
1:12:16
happens
1:12:17
before
1:12:17
those
1:12:17
shows
1:12:18
with
1:12:19
just
1:12:19
return
1:12:20
customers.
1:12:21
But
1:12:21
the
1:12:22
shows
1:12:22
are
1:12:22
worth
1:12:22
it
1:12:22
for
1:12:23
us
1:12:23
just
1:12:23
so
1:12:23
that
1:12:23
we
1:12:23
can
1:12:24
be
1:12:24
face
1:12:24
to
1:12:24
face
1:12:24
with
1:12:25
a
1:12:25
lot
1:12:25
of
1:12:25
our
1:12:25
friends
1:12:25
again.
1:12:27
Yeah,
1:12:27
it's
1:12:28
definitely
1:12:28
a
1:12:28
great
1:12:28
time
1:12:29
of
1:12:29
year.
1:12:29
And
1:12:29
Michael,
1:12:29
before
1:12:30
I
1:12:30
let
1:12:30
you
1:12:30
go
1:12:30
this
1:12:30
evening,
1:12:30
is
1:12:31
there
1:12:31
anything
1:12:31
else
1:12:31
you
1:12:31
want
1:12:31
to
1:12:32
share
1:12:32
with
1:12:32
our
1:12:32
listeners?
1:12:34
You
1:12:34
know,
1:12:35
I've
1:12:35
probably
1:12:36
talked
1:12:36
enough.
1:12:37
I
1:12:37
just
1:12:38
appreciate
1:12:38
this
1:12:38
opportunity.
1:12:40
I
1:12:40
would
1:12:40
just
1:12:41
say
1:12:41
in
1:12:41
closing,
1:12:43
if,
1:12:43
if
1:12:44
you
1:12:44
have
1:12:44
any
1:12:45
interest
1:12:46
in
1:12:46
seeing
1:12:46
the
1:12:46
Amazon,
1:12:47
if
1:12:47
it
1:12:47
is
1:12:47
something
1:12:48
that
1:12:48
has
1:12:48
just
1:12:48
kind
1:12:48
of
1:12:48
been
1:12:49
in
1:12:49
the
1:12:50
back
1:12:50
of
1:12:50
your
1:12:50
mind
1:12:51
or
1:12:51
you
1:12:51
just
1:12:51
want
1:12:51
to
1:12:51
have
1:12:51
a
1:12:52
jungle
1:12:52
experience
1:12:52
like
1:12:53
that
1:12:53
in
1:12:53
a
1:12:53
really
1:12:54
safe,
1:12:54
comfortable
1:12:54
place
1:12:55
with
1:12:56
honestly,
1:12:56
some
1:12:57
of
1:12:57
the
1:12:57
most
1:12:57
remarkable
1:12:58
people
1:12:58
you
1:12:58
will
1:12:58
ever
1:12:59
meet
1:12:59
in
1:12:59
your
1:12:59
life,
1:13:01
I
1:13:01
would
1:13:02
say
1:13:02
do
1:13:02
it
1:13:02
sooner
1:13:02
than
1:13:03
later.
1:13:04
This
1:13:05
year
1:13:05
has
1:13:05
been
1:13:05
a
1:13:05
reminder
1:13:06
to
1:13:06
me
1:13:06
and
1:13:07
our
1:13:07
family
1:13:07
that,
1:13:08
you
1:13:08
know,
1:13:08
life
1:13:09
is
1:13:09
short
1:13:09
and
1:13:10
surprises
1:13:10
can
1:13:11
happen.
1:13:11
And
1:13:12
I'll
1:13:12
talk
1:13:12
to
1:13:13
gentlemen
1:13:13
at
1:13:13
the
1:13:13
shows
1:13:14
or
1:13:14
customers,
1:13:14
potential
1:13:15
customers
1:13:15
at
1:13:15
the
1:13:15
shows.
1:13:16
And
1:13:16
they're
1:13:16
like,
1:13:16
yeah,
1:13:17
one
1:13:17
day
1:13:17
I'm
1:13:17
going
1:13:18
to
1:13:18
do
1:13:18
that.
1:13:18
One
1:13:19
day
1:13:19
I'm
1:13:19
going
1:13:19
to
1:13:19
do
1:13:19
that.
1:13:19
And
1:13:20
then
1:13:20
they
1:13:20
come
1:13:20
in,
1:13:20
they're
1:13:20
like,
1:13:20
you
1:13:21
know,
1:13:22
I
1:13:22
can't
1:13:22
do
1:13:22
it
1:13:23
anymore.
1:13:23
I
1:13:23
should
1:13:23
have
1:13:24
done
1:13:24
it
1:13:24
when
1:13:24
I,
1:13:24
when
1:13:25
I
1:13:25
thought
1:13:25
about
1:13:25
it
1:13:25
earlier.
1:13:26
And
1:13:26
I
1:13:26
hear
1:13:26
that
1:13:26
all
1:13:27
the
1:13:27
time.
1:13:27
And,
1:13:28
you
1:13:28
know,
1:13:29
why
1:13:29
wouldn't
1:13:29
you
1:13:30
go?
1:13:30
Why
1:13:30
wouldn't
1:13:30
you
1:13:31
experience
1:13:31
this?
1:13:33
It's
1:13:33
just,
1:13:33
it's
1:13:33
a
1:13:34
very,
1:13:34
very
1:13:34
special
1:13:34
place.
1:13:35
So
1:13:35
that's
1:13:36
all
1:13:36
I
1:13:36
have
1:13:36
to
1:13:36
say.
1:13:37
Yeah,
1:13:37
well,
1:13:37
I'll
1:13:37
just
1:13:38
echo
1:13:38
that
1:13:38
and
1:13:38
say
1:13:38
I
1:13:39
100%
1:13:39
agree
1:13:39
with.
1:13:40
And,
1:13:40
you
1:13:40
know,
1:13:40
if
1:13:41
folks
1:13:41
want
1:13:41
to
1:13:41
learn
1:13:41
more
1:13:41
about
1:13:42
Nomadic
1:13:42
Waters,
1:13:43
Michael,
1:13:43
where
1:13:43
should
1:13:43
they
1:13:44
go?
1:13:44
You
1:13:45
know,
1:13:45
I
1:13:45
would
1:13:45
say
1:13:45
our,
1:13:46
our
1:13:46
best
1:13:46
photos
1:13:47
and
1:13:47
videos
1:13:47
are
1:13:48
on
1:13:48
Instagram.
1:13:50
So
1:13:50
just
1:13:50
at
1:13:50
Nomadic
1:13:51
Waters,
1:13:51
we'll,
1:13:52
we'll
1:13:52
show
1:13:53
you
1:13:53
our.
1:13:53
You
1:13:53
know,
1:13:53
we,
1:13:54
when
1:13:54
we're
1:13:54
in
1:13:54
the
1:13:55
jungle,
1:13:55
we
1:13:55
have
1:13:55
wi
1:13:55
fi
1:13:56
in
1:13:56
all
1:13:56
of
1:13:56
our
1:13:56
locations,
1:13:57
unfortunately.
1:13:59
So
1:13:59
we
1:13:59
actually
1:13:59
do
1:14:00
daily
1:14:00
updates.
1:14:00
You
1:14:00
can
1:14:01
see
1:14:01
what
1:14:01
we
1:14:01
caught
1:14:01
that
1:14:02
day,
1:14:02
which
1:14:02
is
1:14:02
a
1:14:02
lot
1:14:02
of
1:14:03
fun.
1:14:04
And
1:14:04
then
1:14:04
we
1:14:04
have
1:14:04
a,
1:14:05
a
1:14:06
real
1:14:06
strong
1:14:06
website@nomadicwaters.com
1:14:09
and
1:14:10
a
1:14:10
lot
1:14:10
of
1:14:10
that
1:14:10
website
1:14:11
is
1:14:12
hidden
1:14:12
behind
1:14:12
a
1:14:13
password
1:14:14
protected
1:14:14
area
1:14:15
because
1:14:15
it
1:14:15
has
1:14:15
all
1:14:15
my
1:14:15
tips
1:14:16
and
1:14:16
tricks
1:14:17
of
1:14:17
how
1:14:17
to
1:14:17
catch
1:14:18
peacock
1:14:18
bass
1:14:19
for
1:14:20
our
1:14:20
customers.
1:14:21
But
1:14:21
there's
1:14:22
still
1:14:22
a
1:14:22
lot
1:14:22
of
1:14:22
really
1:14:23
fun
1:14:23
videos
1:14:23
and
1:14:23
good
1:14:24
information
1:14:24
there.
1:14:25
And
1:14:25
if
1:14:25
you've
1:14:25
got
1:14:26
questions
1:14:26
about
1:14:27
specific
1:14:29
time
1:14:29
of
1:14:29
year,
1:14:29
specific
1:14:30
location,
1:14:31
or
1:14:32
just
1:14:32
all
1:14:32
those
1:14:32
other
1:14:33
questions
1:14:33
that
1:14:33
you're
1:14:33
afraid
1:14:33
to
1:14:34
ask,
1:14:34
those
1:14:35
answers
1:14:35
are
1:14:35
right
1:14:36
there.
1:14:36
So
1:14:36
that
1:14:36
would
1:14:36
be
1:14:37
a
1:14:37
good
1:14:37
place
1:14:37
to
1:14:37
look.
1:14:38
Well,
1:14:38
there
1:14:38
you
1:14:38
go.
1:14:39
And
1:14:39
I'll
1:14:39
drop
1:14:39
all
1:14:39
that
1:14:39
stuff
1:14:40
in
1:14:40
the
1:14:40
show
1:14:40
notes.
1:14:40
And
1:14:40
Michael,
1:14:41
I
1:14:41
super
1:14:42
appreciate
1:14:42
you
1:14:42
taking
1:14:43
some
1:14:43
time
1:14:43
to
1:14:43
chat
1:14:43
with
1:14:44
me
1:14:44
this
1:14:44
evening.
1:14:44
Oh,
1:14:45
you're
1:14:45
very
1:14:45
kind.
1:14:45
It's
1:14:46
been
1:14:46
an
1:14:46
honor.
1:14:46
Thank
1:14:46
you
1:14:47
so
1:14:47
much,
1:14:47
Marvin.
1:14:48
Oh,
1:14:48
it's
1:14:48
been
1:14:48
my
1:14:48
pleasure.
1:14:49
Take
1:14:49
care.
1:14:50
We
1:14:51
hope
1:14:51
you
1:14:51
enjoyed
1:14:51
the
1:14:51
interview
1:14:52
as
1:14:52
much
1:14:52
as
1:14:52
we
1:14:53
enjoyed
1:14:53
bringing
1:14:53
it
1:14:53
to
1:14:54
you.
