- 0:20Speaker 2: Hello, Hello, and welcome in, Darlings. It is another gross
- 0:24Speaker 2: Point Garden Society Day with my galpal og Gross Pointer
- 0:29Speaker 2: Megan Grano.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Hi, Megs, Hi, thanks for having me back again. I
- 0:34Speaker 3: keep getting so excited when I return. I know you
- 0:37Speaker 3: when you return.
- 0:38Speaker 2: You're returning guest Megan Grano, returning guest friend of the
- 0:42Speaker 2: show of Drama Darling. This is so exciting that you know,
- 0:47Speaker 2: I've missed talking about it because we had to take
- 0:49Speaker 2: a little bit of a break and because you were
- 0:52Speaker 2: in Chicago, Chicago. Yes, shout out to all the Darlings
- 0:59Speaker 2: who came out to Chicago, who some traveled, some just
- 1:04Speaker 2: came out of their little Chicago townhouses or the surrounding
- 1:09Speaker 2: suburbs and popped on over to the Apollo Theater to
- 1:11Speaker 2: see me do Drama Darling Live. So thank you. I
- 1:15Speaker 2: loved meeting everybody. It was such a blast. Megan and
- 1:19Speaker 2: I both lived in Chicago as as we both are
- 1:23Speaker 2: from gross Point. We both made our way over to
- 1:26Speaker 2: really the improv capital of the world. Megan was on
- 1:30Speaker 2: a very prestigious comedic stage where she was a main
- 1:34Speaker 2: cast member in the etc. Stage over there, and I'll
- 1:39Speaker 2: never forget your show. It was just so phenomenal. You're
- 1:42Speaker 2: just an amazing performer. Megan, Oh, thank you so much.
- 1:45Speaker 3: That was just a dream. What a fun what a
- 1:47Speaker 3: fun city to live in. I will add that it's
- 1:50Speaker 3: a common trajectory from Gross Point to Chicago.
- 1:53Speaker 2: It's it's a great it's just such a great city.
- 1:56Speaker 3: It's a draw and it's it's close, so it just
- 1:59Speaker 3: lures them Michiganders over.
- 2:02Speaker 2: And then we're like in the big city. You know,
- 2:03Speaker 2: we're just like, oh my god, Mom, Dad, look at me.
- 2:06Speaker 2: I'm in the city. I'm in the big I'm in Chicago.
- 2:10Speaker 3: My mom always would be like a glorious, glorious town.
- 2:13Speaker 2: That was her glorious town. What a glorious town. Yeah,
- 2:18Speaker 2: I loved it.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Loved Second City, the improv capital, Like you said, just
- 2:23Speaker 3: what a place.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Yeah. We we hustled there. We just hustle, hustle, hustled.
- 2:28Speaker 2: And that's where I met your husband. He was working
- 2:30Speaker 2: at the Annoyance Theater. Shout out Mike Canally, shout out
- 2:35Speaker 2: the Annoyance Theater. Iow West, I'm sorry, I said, iow West. Oh,
- 2:41Speaker 2: oh my gosh, I didn't even catch it. Iow Chicago,
- 2:43Speaker 2: Io Chicago. I'm just so used to being out here
- 2:45Speaker 2: for so long. But you know, we did io there
- 2:47Speaker 2: and everything. So anyway, so it was a great time
- 2:52Speaker 2: and it's fun to be in the Midwest state of
- 2:54Speaker 2: mind as we talk about gross plant gardens, society and
- 2:58Speaker 2: like where we're at. So we're gonna basically be covering
- 3:01Speaker 2: essentially three episodes and we'll just kind of like you know,
- 3:05Speaker 2: do broad strokes throughout and discuss. But Megan, I am
- 3:10Speaker 2: loving this show. I am absolutely loving it. It is
- 3:14Speaker 2: really ticking a box for me because you know, it's
- 3:17Speaker 2: been so long, you know, hearkening back to like the
- 3:20Speaker 2: Desperate Housewives days, and I really feel like and also
- 3:25Speaker 2: How to Get Away with Murder? Do you remember that show? Yeah,
- 3:29Speaker 2: Like this is it. It's it's like drama. It's so
- 3:37Speaker 2: so dramatic and it's so.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Just like it's definitely stylized. It's stylized and it's fun
- 3:44Speaker 3: and it feels like I feel like as I watch
- 3:47Speaker 3: it that it's like one of those guilty pleasure beach
- 3:49Speaker 3: books that you are as drama Darling.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Thank you. It took me a second to get there,
- 3:56Speaker 2: but yeah, and like and it is, it's kind of
- 4:02Speaker 2: it's a dark comedy really also, you know, and then
- 4:05Speaker 2: that's that's really fun. But How to get Away with
- 4:07Speaker 2: Murder by the way, I failed to mention, you know, Catherine,
- 4:10Speaker 2: the woman who plays Catherine, she was on How to
- 4:12Speaker 2: Go get Away with Murder? She was Yeah, she was
- 4:15Speaker 2: one of the students violinating students.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Oh what, oh my gosh, I know. Yeah, isn't that crazy?
- 4:23Speaker 3: Oh?
- 4:23Speaker 2: Megan is drinking out of her Twall water bottle on
- 4:27Speaker 2: official sponsor of drama Darling for Gross Point. Garden Society
- 4:31Speaker 2: recaps shout out to Twall, the company that does all
- 4:36Speaker 2: kinds of amazing gross Point paraphernalia and beyond. And it's
- 4:42Speaker 2: Twall t W A l L. You can find them
- 4:45Speaker 2: over on Instagram, you can find their website. But they're
- 4:48Speaker 2: a female owned boutique. And so thanks so much for
- 4:51Speaker 2: sending us your swag. You love it, absolutely love it.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Yes, it's so great. I've been using this and getting
- 4:58Speaker 3: a lot of compliments on it, and every time I
- 5:00Speaker 3: tell them, visit twelve shop please, twelve top shop.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Soa baby. Yes, okay, I loved seeing you know, the
- 5:08Speaker 2: Tigers game, like talking about the Tigers game and sitting
- 5:11Speaker 2: and watching it, and how basically like Brett and Alice
- 5:15Speaker 2: get together and they usually watch the Tigers game. And
- 5:19Speaker 2: now after their friend break up, now these two gals
- 5:23Speaker 2: Bertie and Catherine are a fish out of water while
- 5:26Speaker 2: they try to gather for this Tigers game. Watch.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Yes, like they're they're great at making Catherine's great at
- 5:32Speaker 3: making all the snacks, the Detroit Tiger theme snacks.
- 5:35Speaker 2: But like they don't want to watch the game. I'm like,
- 5:37Speaker 2: I know, wait, the tiketo penises were the penis tiktos
- 5:41Speaker 2: were hilarious. And then also they're like, yeah, we usually,
- 5:45Speaker 2: Alle says, we usually do shots every time there's a
- 5:47Speaker 2: double and and and then just let me just take
- 5:50Speaker 2: a second here and just remind everybody we've got two
- 5:52Speaker 2: extremely attractive people. We've got Alice and we've got Brett
- 5:57Speaker 2: together all the time they are now getting they get
- 6:01Speaker 2: together to watch the Tigers game and their besties. Great,
- 6:05Speaker 2: they're doing shots. Two attractive people hanging out alone in
- 6:10Speaker 2: an apartment doing shots, getting drunk, and nothing's happening. This
- 6:14Speaker 2: is bonkers, you know, I mean, it's it's just goes
- 6:17Speaker 2: to show you know it was destined to end in
- 6:21Speaker 2: such a way. I'm just surprised it didn't, you know,
- 6:23Speaker 2: end differently. But quite frankly, hot people just can't be
- 6:27Speaker 2: friends with hot people. And that's the I said it.
- 6:29Speaker 2: You know what is said. You can't do it. You cannot.
- 6:33Speaker 2: You know, you can't be friends with hot people.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Everybody underrates the value of having just a dog friend
- 6:41Speaker 3: and wolf.
- 6:42Speaker 2: You know, you want to have someone who you're you know,
- 6:46Speaker 2: of the opposite sex or of the same sex that
- 6:50Speaker 2: you do not want to be with. Make sure they
- 6:54Speaker 2: are on a they are god awful looking, you know,
- 6:57Speaker 2: because if you're going to be getting.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Drunk, first quality and a friend is sorry to tell
- 7:03Speaker 3: you this, amy you no problem.
- 7:05Speaker 2: I just gotta be a dog I mean, look at
- 7:09Speaker 2: this face. It's a face for radio. And that's why
- 7:12Speaker 2: I'm here. So Megan, we can watch all the games
- 7:16Speaker 2: we want together. Oh.
- 7:18Speaker 3: I actually used to do a character called dog girl
- 7:22Speaker 3: because I love I love this concept.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I would say.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Back when I was at college at UNC Chapel Hill,
- 7:29Speaker 3: every girl always looked so cute all the time, and
- 7:32Speaker 3: I was friends with them. They were great, and I'm like, oh,
- 7:35Speaker 3: I'm the dog friend stop it, Megan, now to make
- 7:40Speaker 3: you all it is this this concept is real, but
- 7:43Speaker 3: it was a really fun character.
- 7:45Speaker 2: We made a movie. It's on YouTube. Are you serious?
- 7:48Speaker 2: Dog Girl gets her Revenge? Yeah? Why have I never?
- 7:52Speaker 3: No, no no, It's a ten minute movie filmed on
- 7:55Speaker 3: those old fashioned video cameras.
- 7:57Speaker 2: We're gonna we're gonna link it. That's gonna get some
- 8:02Speaker 2: good YouTube hits. Dog Wait, Dog Girl gets her Revenge?
- 8:07Speaker 3: Yeah, Megan, Oh, you know that's the thing. You hang
- 8:11Speaker 3: out with hot people, it's not gonna go well. You
- 8:13Speaker 3: hang out with dogs, it also might not go well.
- 8:16Speaker 3: So you know what, hermit just hermit it up.
- 8:22Speaker 2: The only way. Speaking of hermits, someone's inside of their
- 8:28Speaker 2: house and discovers there are cameras up in the uh
- 8:33Speaker 2: you know smoke detector, which we all wonder, don't you
- 8:37Speaker 2: just wonder even in your own house. You know, you're like,
- 8:40Speaker 2: did I put cameras out there? Like? Did someone come
- 8:43Speaker 2: in here and put camera? You're just always wondering. There's
- 8:45Speaker 2: because there's you know, cameras are scary out there these days, guys.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. Discovers the cameras up in there after
- 8:53Speaker 2: her figs get her bacon wrapped figs or something burns
- 8:57Speaker 2: yes in the oven, and I just didn't see that
- 8:59Speaker 2: it was going there.
- 9:00Speaker 3: I didn't act it, and I was like, oh god,
- 9:03Speaker 3: there's cameras and the smoke detectors. I also didn't realize
- 9:06Speaker 3: until that point that Tucker, her husband, was in the
- 9:09Speaker 3: security business. Somehow that had blown over my head. Maybe
- 9:13Speaker 3: I would have seen it coming or something, but that
- 9:16Speaker 3: was really a shock.
- 9:18Speaker 2: That was a shocker. And boy, oh boy, oh boy,
- 9:23Speaker 2: also a shocker. Tucker hired the guys to beat up
- 9:27Speaker 2: Gary guys, guys to do it. I was like, oh
- 9:32Speaker 2: my gosh, he did he did it.
- 9:34Speaker 3: He lets it slip by saying making a comment about
- 9:37Speaker 3: a tooth right, and she puts it.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Together like how did you know that? And he really
- 9:43Speaker 2: did it? Yeah, he really did it. What happened? He
- 9:47Speaker 2: did it? You know, I mean Tucker did it. He
- 9:50Speaker 2: is he has lined up everything in the last three
- 9:54Speaker 2: episodes to where we've had a big reveal on who
- 9:57Speaker 2: Tucker is. And when they sit down at that bar
- 10:00Speaker 2: and he repeats the line to her, which is, if
- 10:04Speaker 2: I tell you this will change everything. Because after she
- 10:07Speaker 2: comes home that morning of the wait of the well done.
- 10:18Speaker 2: It's from traders, I recap that or but she comes
- 10:23Speaker 2: home that morning and he is just like, uh, ma'am
- 10:27Speaker 2: you know, and she's like, well, if I tell you,
- 10:29Speaker 2: this will change everything. So now they are just like
- 10:32Speaker 2: Bonnie and Clyde just live in their best life. They
- 10:35Speaker 2: got their sex life back because of the cameras. Yeah,
- 10:39Speaker 2: and then they and then we find out that he
- 10:44Speaker 2: hired the guys to beat up Gary. We find out
- 10:47Speaker 2: that he has a gambling addiction.
- 10:53Speaker 3: He's lost all their money, he has like not had.
- 10:57Speaker 3: He's been telling her that he's been flying overseas, wow,
- 11:01Speaker 3: going to all these really cool places and lo and
- 11:04Speaker 3: behold he has been going to Vegas and gambling wow.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Or or the downtown I think he mentioned the downtown.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Casino, right MGM or whatever. I was like, Tucker, yeah,
- 11:20Speaker 2: Actually she seemed fine with him gambling in Vegas and
- 11:23Speaker 2: Dubai or wherever he's been going. But the second he
- 11:25Speaker 2: was like, all was at Motown Casino, she was like, oh,
- 11:29Speaker 2: how dare really? Oh Tucker, have we fallen? You know?
- 11:37Speaker 3: There was a great line during that when he says
- 11:40Speaker 3: something like, you know, this means that we can't go
- 11:44Speaker 3: to Saint Bart's anymore, and she's like, that's okay, I
- 11:48Speaker 3: don't mind that we can't go to Saint Barts anymore
- 11:50Speaker 3: because they're in financial distress.
- 11:52Speaker 2: And he makes a comment about how a lot of
- 11:54Speaker 2: women in gross Point would mind.
- 11:56Speaker 3: I know, I just want to say, I haven't into
- 12:00Speaker 3: Saint Bart's, Tucker, I have not been there.
- 12:03Speaker 2: I haven't either. By Megan, I love that line because
- 12:05Speaker 2: he said he goes a lot of ladies in this
- 12:09Speaker 2: town wouldn't like that. Like this town, you know, the
- 12:15Speaker 2: big city, or like this affluent town. The ladies wouldn't
- 12:20Speaker 2: stand for it. And it just really did make me laugh.
- 12:22Speaker 2: It was kind of an eye roll. It was like
- 12:24Speaker 2: that line was so cheesy and so great and so
- 12:27Speaker 2: many ways so great, so great also Saint Bart's. He
- 12:32Speaker 2: really nailed it with that. I mean, don't you feel
- 12:35Speaker 2: like when your friends, when I'm talking about like all
- 12:38Speaker 2: of my friends would go on these really expensive vacations
- 12:42Speaker 2: and I'd be like, we're driving five days down to Florida,
- 12:47Speaker 2: not in a van, uh so edan, I will be
- 12:49Speaker 2: stuck in the back seat right in the middle, and
- 12:51Speaker 2: if I cross over the line, I will get punched,
- 12:54Speaker 2: you know, And.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I will yees the line in the back seat, don't
- 12:58Speaker 3: you dare, don't not even finger?
- 13:00Speaker 2: Yeah. Uh, if I was lucky, I'd get get some
- 13:03Speaker 2: property over on the bottom of the fliller. But like,
- 13:09Speaker 2: you know, it does check out. You know, the Saint
- 13:12Speaker 2: Bart's the whole you know, the whole Caribbean area. You know,
- 13:16Speaker 2: wouldn't you say, I don't know? Definitely, Yeah, a lot
- 13:19Speaker 2: of Florida less West Palm Beach and yeah, yeah the Keys,
- 13:24Speaker 2: the Florida Keys.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Uh.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Absolutely, some people go to Mexico. But it's yeah, we're
- 13:30Speaker 2: we're talking some shehi Vay Case.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, that totally checked out.
- 13:35Speaker 2: I loved that one. So but yeah, so he is,
- 13:39Speaker 2: you know, out of money, and she's like, I've got
- 13:41Speaker 2: your back. And now they're basically starting from zero where
- 13:45Speaker 2: they she's got a hustle when she actually this was
- 13:49Speaker 2: so interesting Megan seeing her go, well, it was a
- 13:53Speaker 2: quick it was a nice montage that they showed us
- 13:56Speaker 2: of her getting used to motherhood again because she was
- 13:59Speaker 2: a working woman, yes, and so you know she had
- 14:03Speaker 2: lost her job, right she wasn't She's not working for
- 14:06Speaker 2: that real estate company anymore because of Gaary. So she's
- 14:10Speaker 2: now like at home, and so we're seeing her more
- 14:13Speaker 2: hands on as a mother, and she's getting used to it,
- 14:17Speaker 2: and you can tell she's having issues with, you know,
- 14:19Speaker 2: the cleanliness and the organization and things like that. But
- 14:22Speaker 2: then of course she decides to go back out into
- 14:25Speaker 2: the world and get this great job with a new
- 14:28Speaker 2: real estate firm, into which she is presented with the
- 14:32Speaker 2: idea of you're going to choose your career or you're
- 14:35Speaker 2: gonna choose your your child in this moment, and she
- 14:37Speaker 2: discovers that she wants to make her kids a priority,
- 14:41Speaker 2: and so she goes home and she realizes that, you know,
- 14:44Speaker 2: motherhood is more important to her at this point to
- 14:46Speaker 2: be more of a stay at home mom. But now
- 14:50Speaker 2: Tucker has lost the money, so she's like, let's get
- 14:53Speaker 2: to that contact list and let's try to sell some
- 14:58Speaker 2: houses and save our app Yes.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Yes, And I really loved to hear some of the
- 15:03Speaker 3: gross point street names Devonshire and of course my mom,
- 15:09Speaker 3: my mom lived on Bishop for several years, twenty years.
- 15:12Speaker 2: I was like, Bishop, Oh, Megan, I couldn't believe they
- 15:15Speaker 2: said your street name.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, sod dress might have been right on our block.
- 15:20Speaker 2: I don't even know It probably was seven fourteen was
- 15:23Speaker 2: the address. I mean, wow, yeah, that hit home right here.
- 15:28Speaker 2: That was really it hit home special, It really literally
- 15:31Speaker 2: hit home literally your home. So she goes to that
- 15:36Speaker 2: woman's house and the woman who's going to sell her house,
- 15:40Speaker 2: which was the perfect gross point mansion. My god, did
- 15:43Speaker 2: it look like a gross point house down to that.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Walk in super huge closet with cases for shoes.
- 15:50Speaker 2: It was amazing. The facade, you know, everything about the
- 15:54Speaker 2: exterior was perfection. And I loved that she was going
- 16:01Speaker 2: to give it to the guy with the bigger firm.
- 16:03Speaker 2: And then she you know, hit her where it really matters,
- 16:06Speaker 2: which is I know, the neighbors. Yeah, on either side,
- 16:09Speaker 2: and you want my PTA list? That line killed me.
- 16:13Speaker 3: I wrote that down because she had such a good
- 16:17Speaker 3: line there, saying like you could use well, I can't
- 16:19Speaker 3: find it right now, which is always helpful. But she
- 16:23Speaker 3: said something like, oh, you don't need Goldman's international contacts,
- 16:28Speaker 3: you need my PTA tree.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Yeah, Tree, yes, Tree. I was like, hmm hmmm mmm,
- 16:38Speaker 2: it snaps. Yes. Are you on the PTA, Megan?
- 16:43Speaker 3: I am a member of the PTA, but I'm not
- 16:47Speaker 3: one of the officers, and I don't chair any committees,
- 16:49Speaker 3: are you.
- 16:51Speaker 2: No, I am not on the PTA. I sure, I'm
- 16:55Speaker 2: a member. I mean I pay the fee to support
- 16:58Speaker 2: at least I think I did this year. But yes
- 17:04Speaker 2: I do, and then I try to volunteer in other ways.
- 17:07Speaker 2: But I'm not directly involved with a future I actually that.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I'm sorry. I don't know what happened. I don't know. Okay,
- 17:16Speaker 2: So so she's going to try and save their ass.
- 17:18Speaker 2: But you know, Tucker, we knew something was a brewing.
- 17:22Speaker 2: We didn't know what it was, and no wonder he
- 17:24Speaker 2: was so quick to forgive her. Yeah, I mean exactly.
- 17:28Speaker 2: You're sort of like when that initially happened, like huh
- 17:31Speaker 2: really so fast? And then this makes sense? Yeah, and
- 17:34Speaker 2: you wonder you know what came first, the chicken or
- 17:37Speaker 2: the egg. So Tucker obviously started to be distracted because
- 17:41Speaker 2: he has a gambling problem, and so his mind is
- 17:44Speaker 2: elsewhere and not on their marriage. He's not prioritizing her.
- 17:47Speaker 2: There's love is loss, there's no romance. Of course she
- 17:50Speaker 2: went looking, and so you could say it's his fault, right,
- 17:56Speaker 2: you really good? You could make that argument. I'm just
- 17:58Speaker 2: gonna say it is so yeah, I like it. She
- 18:01Speaker 2: did what she needed to do, and I don't blame her.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Gold Hold. That's what we gross pointers do. We make
- 18:08Speaker 3: bold claims.
- 18:09Speaker 2: That's right, that's right. We're unapologetic about it. I will
- 18:13Speaker 2: see what I've been thinking.
- 18:15Speaker 3: About the show in broad strokes, and not a one
- 18:19Speaker 3: of their relationships is in a healthy place.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Isn't that perfect? Yeah? It is?
- 18:27Speaker 3: It is.
- 18:28Speaker 2: You're right, everything's a mess. You know, everyone has their
- 18:31Speaker 2: own demons. Everyone's struggling in their own way with their
- 18:33Speaker 2: relationships and their families. And that is relatable, you know.
- 18:38Speaker 2: I think that it's a great thing to see because
- 18:40Speaker 2: not you know, that part is relatable obviously, the murder part,
- 18:45Speaker 2: you know, not so much. But or maybe it is
- 18:48Speaker 2: to some of us. I don't know. You tell me
- 18:51Speaker 2: right in everybody confess right here right now. Yes, So
- 18:58Speaker 2: we do get you know, the flash forward, the flesh,
- 19:01Speaker 2: you know, all that stuff to the moving of the
- 19:03Speaker 2: dead body. So we've got Catherine and Bertie that have
- 19:07Speaker 2: to move this dead body and they're in this Cadillac.
- 19:10Speaker 2: They run out of gas and they now go and
- 19:16Speaker 2: make the worst mistake, which is Catherine goes in and
- 19:19Speaker 2: like gives pills and a bracelet to pay for the gas.
- 19:26Speaker 2: And there was also a little clue when they open
- 19:30Speaker 2: up the trunk and they were going through the pockets
- 19:34Speaker 2: of the victim and they found matches and that later
- 19:39Speaker 2: was matched up to the bar where the CoP's wife works. Yeah,
- 19:46Speaker 2: Saint Clair Grill. We so nice, Saint Claire Grill. I
- 19:51Speaker 2: lived on Saint Clair for a little whilean apartment. It's
- 19:55Speaker 2: all coming together, so hilarious, both of Bart's trees. Okay,
- 20:02Speaker 2: so she works at this bar, and we know that
- 20:05Speaker 2: that those are the matchbooks that she gives out there
- 20:07Speaker 2: clearly in this person's pocket, and you know, you're You're
- 20:11Speaker 2: just sitting here going like there's cameras everywhere. What are
- 20:14Speaker 2: you doing? What are you thinking? Oh God? And then
- 20:20Speaker 2: for Tucker to come through later by like this, go
- 20:24Speaker 2: to the tape, show the tape, and it is.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Just paying off in spades that he works in security,
- 20:30Speaker 3: and so.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Like get it again. It I initially thought was.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Just putting it in the smoke detectors. I'm like, okay,
- 20:36Speaker 3: where's this going. No, this paid off huge.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Huge, Why aren't I working in security? That's what I
- 20:41Speaker 2: need to know. By need to go work in security,
- 20:44Speaker 2: because I'm going to have to I know, cover my
- 20:46Speaker 2: ass at some point or someone else's that I love,
- 20:48Speaker 2: and I'm fine with that, yes, or it pays to
- 20:51Speaker 2: know someone who works in security. So darlings, who do
- 20:55Speaker 2: you know? Send them our way? Yes, so that was impressive.
- 20:59Speaker 2: But that poor gas station guy, it's like, you know,
- 21:03Speaker 2: just I swear it was she gave me the bracelet?
- 21:07Speaker 3: Yeah and now nope, sorry, sorry I missed.
- 21:12Speaker 2: I missed.
- 21:12Speaker 3: How did they find him? Like, how did he get
- 21:15Speaker 3: picked up? I couldn't remember.
- 21:16Speaker 2: I like missed that. But I'm like, how, I don't
- 21:18Speaker 2: know what happened. But that guy's going down. He's taking this.
- 21:21Speaker 2: He is really big good. But you know what he
- 21:23Speaker 2: wanted the pills, you know he did. I think he
- 21:26Speaker 2: manifested that into his life and that's something that he
- 21:28Speaker 2: has to answer to. That's not our that's not our problem.
- 21:31Speaker 2: It's certainly not Catherine's money money talks. So Marilyn, Okay,
- 21:39Speaker 2: how much did you love her episode?
- 21:42Speaker 3: Laarlin loved and it really felt from the house to
- 21:47Speaker 3: the storyline very gross. Point to me, I just thought
- 21:50Speaker 3: they nailed it that the house was another house, you know,
- 21:53Speaker 3: I keep thinking, how are they filming this in Atlanta.
- 21:56Speaker 3: It looks every house looks like a gross Point house
- 21:58Speaker 3: to me. Yeah, they did a really really good job.
- 22:01Speaker 2: And then she's in her kitchen cooking.
- 22:04Speaker 3: And the relationship with Buzz, who's the mayor of gross Point,
- 22:10Speaker 3: which I love.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Another terrible relationship, I might add, she's is that a
- 22:14Speaker 2: mayor of gross Point? Yes?
- 22:17Speaker 3: There are five mayors, one for each girls Point Park.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Yeah. Each. My mom's like, how can you not know
- 22:25Speaker 2: there's a mayor? Amy? My parents are like, Amy, really
- 22:28Speaker 2: five mayors? Really, that's a lot. It's a lot. Well,
- 22:33Speaker 2: they're getting stuff done, okay, So there's five mayors for
- 22:36Speaker 2: each Point Carrie on.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Yeah, and this one I don't know which one he's
- 22:41Speaker 3: the mayor of, but he is working late a lot,
- 22:46Speaker 3: which troubles her. She wants to make her also Buco,
- 22:50Speaker 3: which I've never had.
- 22:51Speaker 2: I had to look it up. I'm a vegetarian, so
- 22:55Speaker 2: I don't eat that stuff. What did you find? Tell
- 22:58Speaker 2: us about? Also? Buco?
- 23:00Speaker 3: An Italian dish which we can both relate to as
- 23:03Speaker 3: Italian Italian feel Italian veal dish very hard to make,
- 23:09Speaker 3: and she puts a lot of time into making this dinner.
- 23:12Speaker 3: And then they shoot a scene that you would expect
- 23:14Speaker 3: to see in a gross point dining room. She's sitting
- 23:16Speaker 3: alone waiting for him to show up at the end
- 23:18Speaker 3: of this long dining room table and he's not there,
- 23:23Speaker 3: and there's the beautiful assobuco and.
- 23:26Speaker 2: She smashes her plate. Yeah, that was killer. She took
- 23:30Speaker 2: the asabuco and slammed that down. That scene reminded me
- 23:33Speaker 2: of how Brett and I dine often like that, me
- 23:37Speaker 2: at one end, him not showing up at the other,
- 23:41Speaker 2: working late, the Popeye's chicken, just sitting there getting cold.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Oh awful, terrible life imitates art. Yeah, exactly the same.
- 23:52Speaker 2: We'll take a quick break and come back to Maryland's
- 23:55Speaker 2: episode in a second. We need to talk about menopause, ladies,

- 25:43Speaker 2: talking Gross Point Guarden Society and I'm with Megan Grano Megs.
- 25:50Speaker 2: So Marilyn. She is, you know, obviously it's very obvious
- 25:54Speaker 2: her husband, Buzz is having an affair, and we get
- 25:58Speaker 2: flashes to her coming home and discovering something and then
- 26:04Speaker 2: she has blood on her. She eventually calls Alice. We
- 26:12Speaker 2: see that they are at the vet. Can you tell
- 26:15Speaker 2: me what happened? Here? Is this? What we saw? Is
- 26:18Speaker 2: that what happened? Are we burying the lead? Is Buzz dead?
- 26:22Speaker 2: What's happening?
- 26:24Speaker 3: I do not think Buzz is dead based on what
- 26:27Speaker 3: I saw, but they could always trick us. I mean,
- 26:29Speaker 3: they're really good at like pulling the rug out. But
- 26:32Speaker 3: from what I saw, you know, there's Marilyn. She's there
- 26:35Speaker 3: at the gala the night of the event, trying to
- 26:38Speaker 3: sell the Gross Point quilt. Behind her that has just
- 26:42Speaker 3: each little thing is a stitch of gross point history
- 26:45Speaker 3: going back to the model t it says, and she's
- 26:47Speaker 3: trying to sell it and she looks down on her phone,
- 26:49Speaker 3: gets an alert like there's something going on in the bedroom.
- 26:53Speaker 3: So she drives home in tears, and all I kept.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Thinking is it's Buzz. It's Buzz there with that woman. Yeah, okay, but.
- 27:01Speaker 3: As we find out at the vet later, it's her cat,
- 27:04Speaker 3: that precious cat that I just want to comment on.
- 27:06Speaker 3: Buzz in an earlier scene is pissed that mister Fingers
- 27:09Speaker 3: the cat is on the counter.
- 27:11Speaker 2: And I got to say, I really related to Buzz there.
- 27:14Speaker 2: We have two cats.
- 27:15Speaker 3: They're always jumping on the counter and on our table,
- 27:18Speaker 3: and I always I felt very bonded to him there.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Yeah you can't. I mean, it's cute for a second
- 27:24Speaker 2: and then you're like, get down. You can't have that.
- 27:27Speaker 2: You just can't have a cat on the counter.
- 27:29Speaker 3: But you could see that they feel really differently about
- 27:32Speaker 3: the cat, because she was like, I don't mind, she's
- 27:34Speaker 3: like petting the cat in that same area where she's
- 27:36Speaker 3: going to make the us SO book.
- 27:37Speaker 2: She doesn't know he'd mine, And yeah, she's he says that.
- 27:42Speaker 2: She says that.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Buzz must have left the window open and a coyote
- 27:47Speaker 3: jumped in, which is amazing, and butchered her cat. But
- 27:54Speaker 3: mister Fingers survived. Mister Fingers survived. We do find that out.
- 27:58Speaker 2: So are we to believe that that the coyote jumped
- 28:02Speaker 2: in the window. Is that what we're to believe? Yes?
- 28:06Speaker 2: I mean, do you believe that? Or no?
- 28:07Speaker 3: And so that it that she came in with that
- 28:10Speaker 3: knife and slaughtered the coyote, brought mister Fingers to the fence,
- 28:14Speaker 3: and somehow mister Fingers survived that. I'm just putting the
- 28:17Speaker 3: whole timeline together. That seems like a long like she
- 28:20Speaker 3: gets an alert in the.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Window and then does she say like not again or
- 28:25Speaker 2: something like that, or doesn't say like bucket out. I
- 28:28Speaker 2: don't remember what it was, but it was something like
- 28:31Speaker 2: she was mad at Buzz or instead of like, oh
- 28:36Speaker 2: my god, mister Fingers, I'm coming.
- 28:38Speaker 3: You know.
- 28:39Speaker 2: It's so it seems confusing, completely agree, Yes, like I
- 28:45Speaker 2: thought maybe it was I'm sorry to mean to cut
- 28:47Speaker 2: you off. Maybe the alert was the bedroom window is open,
- 28:52Speaker 2: and then mister Fingers got out, and then the coyote
- 28:57Speaker 2: was outside of their way. That makes more sense.
- 29:00Speaker 3: That makes a lot more sense because I'm thinking, how
- 29:02Speaker 3: did that coyote jump to a second floor bedroom?
- 29:06Speaker 2: Like I was like, wow, that makes a lot more sense.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Cartoon coyote, But like, that makes a lot more sense.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Maybe there was also Bougo in there that that Buzz
- 29:24Speaker 2: ate and bed and then left out by the woe
- 29:27Speaker 2: my gosh. That is a very confused. I don't know
- 29:30Speaker 2: what happened. I'm very confused.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Yes, I know that she loves that cat, perhaps more
- 29:36Speaker 3: than she loves Buzz. So I'm gonna go ahead to
- 29:38Speaker 3: make a call that maybe that's the problem in her relationship.
- 29:42Speaker 2: She loves the cat too much. Yeah, I mean that's
- 29:46Speaker 2: fair and guilty guilty over here too, Just kidding. So yeah,
- 29:53Speaker 2: So she's covered in blood and then she has a
- 29:57Speaker 2: weird time with Alice and the vet at the I
- 30:00Speaker 2: don't know.
- 30:01Speaker 3: Yeah, she calls Alice to come be with her, and
- 30:04Speaker 3: Alice of course shows up that morning after the gala.
- 30:08Speaker 3: She's still in her dress, which Marilyn notes. She notes like, oh,
- 30:11Speaker 3: you're still in your dress, and then also notes that
- 30:14Speaker 3: when she was out she saw the black Cadillac and
- 30:17Speaker 3: the quilt hanging out of it. So it's like Marilyn
- 30:21Speaker 3: realizes something is up too, because that quilt she was
- 30:23Speaker 3: trying to sell at the beginning of the Gala.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Ye, somehow it's hanging out of the Cadillac trunk, right,
- 30:30Speaker 2: And whose Cadillac is that? I don't know. It's the
- 30:33Speaker 2: dead person.
- 30:34Speaker 3: I've been trying to figure that out because they kept
- 30:36Speaker 3: zooming in on some sort of insignia on the bumper
- 30:41Speaker 3: and I could not make heads or tails about.
- 30:44Speaker 2: I kept rewinding. I'm like, what is that? I don't
- 30:46Speaker 2: know what that is because I thought it was because
- 30:49Speaker 2: I think Marilyn was also driving a Cadillac. But so
- 30:53Speaker 2: I think they're putting it out there like a lot
- 30:54Speaker 2: of people in gross point drive Cadillacs, which is true.
- 30:57Speaker 2: It's very old school. Yes, sign of success money Troy, Yes, Yes,
- 31:04Speaker 2: so yeah, I don't I don't know whose Cadillac that was.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Obviously it must have been the dead person's, yes, yeah,
- 31:12Speaker 2: but I thought they it can't. It couldn't have been
- 31:14Speaker 2: because they flamed. Had they have already burned up the
- 31:17Speaker 2: car at that point, Oh my gosh. Right, I don't
- 31:20Speaker 2: know because the timeline is tough to follow.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Yes, it is, because they definitely Catherine and Bertie in
- 31:28Speaker 3: that car make reference to the dead It is the
- 31:31Speaker 3: dead person's car, or at least so they think, because
- 31:34Speaker 3: they make reference going something about like how did this
- 31:37Speaker 3: person not get gased.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Drives without Yeah, it definitely is the car. Then they
- 31:43Speaker 2: just haven't burned it.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Yet, Okay, okay, Oh so we think that's the car
- 31:47Speaker 3: they burned later maybe yeah, uh yeah, that could be.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Okay, so they have to move the body, Okay. The
- 31:56Speaker 2: mom buying the paintings, I knew that was happening, by
- 32:01Speaker 2: the way, of course, did you Oh my yeah, I
- 32:04Speaker 2: you know, last time that we had done this recap
- 32:07Speaker 2: and we found out that his paintings were like they
- 32:10Speaker 2: can't keep them stocked, we were like, who buys paintings
- 32:14Speaker 2: off of a coffee shop wall? Which is literally the
- 32:17Speaker 2: line that was said in one of these more recent episodes,
- 32:21Speaker 2: who buys paintings off of a coffee shop wall? So
- 32:24Speaker 2: there you have it. So now she's gonna you know,
- 32:26Speaker 2: break the bank supporting him so that they'll stay there
- 32:31Speaker 2: and then they're not gonna go, you know, retire in
- 32:36Speaker 2: Florida or wherever they were going to go, so that
- 32:38Speaker 2: they can pay to make them stay and have kids here. Yeah.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a it's a long way to go, but
- 32:47Speaker 3: you know that's what those gross point moms want to do.
- 32:50Speaker 2: They want their kids close.
- 32:52Speaker 3: And I guess that's what she's willing to pay the
- 32:54Speaker 3: big bucks to keep Doug close.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Yeah. Interesting. Okay, So let's discuss Catherine and Alice talking
- 33:04Speaker 2: in the car and they're talking about motherhood and Alice
- 33:08Speaker 2: is basically saying like, well, what is it really like? Like,
- 33:11Speaker 2: what's it like being a parent? Yes? And I thought
- 33:15Speaker 2: this was a refreshing, unexpected conversation and incredibly well written.
- 33:21Speaker 2: And that's why I feel like this show does a
- 33:23Speaker 2: great job to have these moments of actual, real, poignant
- 33:29Speaker 2: conversations and truth. And she painted the picture that you
- 33:33Speaker 2: you know, it's it's terrible, it's awful, you forget who
- 33:36Speaker 2: you are and then back yes, okay, yep. And then
- 33:44Speaker 2: Alice is like, well, like then why would anybody do it?
- 33:47Speaker 2: And Catherine just says with so much joy, But there's
- 33:51Speaker 2: five minutes every day that are just absolutely incredible. And
- 33:54Speaker 2: I did think that was pretty accurate.
- 33:58Speaker 3: Yes, I loved I thought that monologue was so good
- 34:01Speaker 3: that it gave me shades of America. For Ferrara's monologue
- 34:07Speaker 3: in Barbie where she talks about being a woman. It
- 34:11Speaker 3: was such a great Oscar winning monologue, and this one,
- 34:15Speaker 3: I was like, hello, this is the end of towards
- 34:17Speaker 3: the end of episode six, for all the darlings listening.
- 34:20Speaker 3: It's such a good monologue. Everyone should listen to it.
- 34:23Speaker 3: On parenthood.
- 34:24Speaker 2: I just thought it was so well written. That's such
- 34:26Speaker 2: a great point to talk about the Barbie movie that
- 34:28Speaker 2: because I really one of the things that I liked
- 34:30Speaker 2: about that movie was just that part. Everything else was
- 34:33Speaker 2: like okay, but I really the end was phenomenal, like
- 34:38Speaker 2: it made everything great, but that you're right, and it
- 34:42Speaker 2: just it was a beautiful moment for two women who
- 34:45Speaker 2: are in between, you know, society's pressures, their passion for work,
- 34:51Speaker 2: their desire or non desire to have kids and to
- 34:54Speaker 2: whom do it for yourself or for someone else? And
- 34:58Speaker 2: are you not having them? Be because you feel too
- 35:01Speaker 2: much pressure and maybe you do want to have them,
- 35:03Speaker 2: but you're not because you feel too much pressure and
- 35:05Speaker 2: you don't want to, you know, do it for the man?
- 35:08Speaker 2: You know, I don't know, so I thought it was
- 35:10Speaker 2: really really cool to discuss that, and then moving on
- 35:16Speaker 2: to Brett and Alice's friendship breakup, and he is just
- 35:21Speaker 2: now swiping right and she's got this new girlfriend named Cricket,
- 35:26Speaker 2: which is so perfect, so perfect, she's so yes. I
- 35:32Speaker 2: love her.
- 35:33Speaker 3: I really had I looked her up. I'm like, I
- 35:36Speaker 3: swear I've seen her on something. She hoped is what
- 35:38Speaker 3: I had seen her in.
- 35:39Speaker 2: She hulped. She was like the attorney, Oh okay, but
- 35:43Speaker 2: I love her. She's so fun. She's really fun, and
- 35:46Speaker 2: it seems like their relationship is now coming to, you know,
- 35:50Speaker 2: the point of no return with all the green juices,
- 35:53Speaker 2: his carburetors, all those things. I love when he gave
- 35:56Speaker 2: his carburetor a green juice cleanse.
- 36:00Speaker 3: Like I thought he was really turning a corner because
- 36:03Speaker 3: we saw I Forget.
- 36:04Speaker 2: I think it was episode six. We saw his ex wife.
- 36:08Speaker 3: Melissa at their son's birthday party, and she's looking at
- 36:13Speaker 3: this relationship with Cricket and how I think they also
- 36:16Speaker 3: saw each other at yoga class and she's like, you've
- 36:19Speaker 3: got Brett doing yoga and drinking green juice and he's
- 36:23Speaker 3: so fun and all these things that he never was
- 36:26Speaker 3: when we were married, and she's expressing that she's kind
- 36:29Speaker 3: of pissed about.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, but it's nice to see.
- 36:32Speaker 3: It seems like it's that early love thing that you
- 36:36Speaker 3: do where you're like, yes, i'll drink the grain juice,
- 36:39Speaker 3: you'll change for you.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:40Speaker 3: By the end of seven he's just dumping that grain
- 36:43Speaker 3: juice right on the carburetor. He's eating fast food right
- 36:46Speaker 3: in front of her. He doesn't he doesn't care.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Anymore because people just don't change. I mean, it's just
- 36:52Speaker 2: you are who you are, you know. I mean you
- 36:54Speaker 2: can have small improvements, but for the most part, you
- 36:58Speaker 2: are what you are what you are. Yeah. Yeah.
- 37:02Speaker 3: And there's a great show on that that we tried
- 37:04Speaker 3: showing the kids the other night's side note, which is
- 37:06Speaker 3: called seven Up, which was a documentary series done I
- 37:10Speaker 3: think the first episode they ever.
- 37:12Speaker 2: Did was in nineteen sixty four in England.
- 37:14Speaker 3: And what the tagline is, give me a child at
- 37:18Speaker 3: age seven and I'll show you the person Like that.
- 37:22Speaker 3: By the time you're seven, your personality is formed and
- 37:24Speaker 3: you're just who you are, just exactly what you said.
- 37:27Speaker 2: You might have minor changes, but you're just And so.
- 37:30Speaker 3: The documentary follows the kids starting at age seven. Right now,
- 37:33Speaker 3: they're seventy seven years old something like that. They're either
- 37:35Speaker 3: seventy or seventy seven right now, and they still follow
- 37:39Speaker 3: up every seven years. No way, funny, Like there's like
- 37:43Speaker 3: fifteen kids and they really are all the same as
- 37:47Speaker 3: when they were seven.
- 37:48Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, what is this on you? Where do
- 37:51Speaker 2: you watch it? I think it was like the BBC
- 37:53Speaker 2: that I think it's only on YouTube where you can
- 37:55Speaker 2: find it now. That is unbelievable.
- 37:59Speaker 3: It's so cool, but it may I think you're right,
- 38:01Speaker 3: Like I love that Brett is turning it on here
- 38:03Speaker 3: for cricket, like I'm drinking the green juice, I'm.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Going to yoga doing it all. But yeah, I don't.
- 38:09Speaker 2: I don't know that that's really who he is on
- 38:11Speaker 2: the inside.
- 38:11Speaker 3: I think he likes Tigers games and taking shots and yeah,
- 38:16Speaker 3: carbureators and eating late night fast food.
- 38:20Speaker 2: I mean to think, like, because Megan, I'm Megan, Maddie
- 38:23Speaker 2: is seven, your son is seven, right, he's eight yet? Okay, Yeah,
- 38:29Speaker 2: but I think they are anyway they are. Yeah, Well,
- 38:34Speaker 2: whatever we did, it's done, you know what I mean,
- 38:37Speaker 2: Like it happened so we're to finished. Boy, I'm glad
- 38:41Speaker 2: I've been available for the most part. I'm glad to
- 38:45Speaker 2: working from home now. Yes, yeah, Okay. When they had
- 38:50Speaker 2: the birthday party for the Sun and Connor gets up
- 38:54Speaker 2: there and does that word up dance, oh wow, wow, wow,
- 39:00Speaker 2: Oh my goodness, that was that was next level. Okay,
- 39:04Speaker 2: First of all, he was amazing. Let's just say he
- 39:09Speaker 2: really knew what he was doing. He had the moves,
- 39:12Speaker 2: and in any other situation that may have killed. But
- 39:17Speaker 2: I love that they had him do it, and that
- 39:19Speaker 2: he committed so hard to it and they let it
- 39:22Speaker 2: go so far that it was so uncomfortable and you
- 39:25Speaker 2: could feel the pain of the children watching in the
- 39:28Speaker 2: sun watching Y's like what are you doing? Like this
- 39:32Speaker 2: is so embarrassing.
- 39:34Speaker 3: Wrong place, you know, know your audience, know your audience.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Connor like cool moves, wrong place.
- 39:40Speaker 2: Oh, wrong time, wrong place, and to be humiliated at
- 39:45Speaker 2: your own, you know, birthday party by this was terrible.
- 39:50Speaker 2: So I appreciated Brett coming in and being like everybody.
- 39:54Speaker 2: And then later Connor was sore about it, but he
- 39:57Speaker 2: still was thunder.
- 39:59Speaker 3: Yeah, but I love that Brett made him admit that
- 40:02Speaker 3: he saved him.
- 40:03Speaker 2: It was great. He was like, really, did Connor really
- 40:08Speaker 2: reach out and give him an olive branch? Or was
- 40:10Speaker 2: he setting him up like with the car business thing,
- 40:13Speaker 2: Like what is that all about?
- 40:14Speaker 3: I don't know for sure what he's doing, Like I
- 40:17Speaker 3: was trying to figure out. I feel like I finally
- 40:19Speaker 3: got his motivation that he wants to move to Chicago.
- 40:23Speaker 2: See how gross pointers go to Chicagoe. Oh, yeah, you're right.
- 40:26Speaker 3: He wants to move there and work at this big
- 40:28Speaker 3: law firm and he wants in order to do that,
- 40:31Speaker 3: full custody. So he's trying to dig up dirt on
- 40:34Speaker 3: Brett and just make this process so that they can
- 40:37Speaker 3: And I was like, oh, that's why he got the
- 40:39Speaker 3: PI to find dirt. I didn't realize what the motivativation.
- 40:44Speaker 2: Well, I loved how they had to hit it over
- 40:46Speaker 2: the head with the PI that came in he found
- 40:49Speaker 2: off of like I don't know what Craigslist or whatever.
- 40:52Speaker 2: But he was like, well he you know, he rolled
- 40:55Speaker 2: through a stop sign or whatever, and he's like, what
- 40:57Speaker 2: is our goal to get dig up dirt on Brett? No, no, no,
- 41:00Speaker 2: it's the bigger goal. Well, so that you can get
- 41:02Speaker 2: full custody of the child, and then you can move
- 41:05Speaker 2: to Chicago and then be a part of this law
- 41:08Speaker 2: firm because you have an opportunity to get this job.
- 41:10Speaker 2: It was like, thank you for spelling that out. I
- 41:12Speaker 2: appreciate that, Ny. We didn't have time to tell you
- 41:16Speaker 2: any other way. Right, so you know the right to
- 41:20Speaker 2: the chase and so yeah, I'm not sure about that
- 41:23Speaker 2: with the car thing. But that guy who came in
- 41:25Speaker 2: there and was looking at the car was pretty pissed.
- 41:28Speaker 2: He was pissed. He liked all the acutra monts.
- 41:32Speaker 3: He liked that the seats looked great and the exterior
- 41:35Speaker 3: looked great. But he wants to take that baby, that
- 41:38Speaker 3: Camaro for a ride and it don't run.
- 41:41Speaker 2: He wants to open it up right there in ninety four,
- 41:44Speaker 2: you know, let her rip Connor's what is his wife?
- 41:50Speaker 2: Oh Melissa. But she says at that birthday party she
- 41:53Speaker 2: doesn't want to move to Chicago. Like that's a no go. Yeah,
- 41:57Speaker 2: that's good. So I think that plan is off.
- 41:59Speaker 3: So maybe he is genuinely like in thanking to Brett, like, hey,
- 42:03Speaker 3: I want to give you some I don't know, I
- 42:04Speaker 3: can't tell if he's a genuine guy or not.
- 42:06Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, we're not sure yet. When the last episode,
- 42:11Speaker 2: Alice goes into the coffee shop and she says, I'd
- 42:14Speaker 2: like an oat milk latte and that postmodern anti authoritarian
- 42:18Speaker 2: painting coffee. The prista was like, are you sure? Kind
- 42:25Speaker 2: of a crazy impulse buy? So what is she taking
- 42:32Speaker 2: her mother in law's credit card?
- 42:33Speaker 3: Now?
- 42:34Speaker 2: I mean, that's not coming out of her pocket. I
- 42:36Speaker 2: hope not.
- 42:37Speaker 3: I hope she's not like newly rehired at the school
- 42:40Speaker 3: in immediately using immediately using.
- 42:43Speaker 2: Her all of her salary. I'm assuming to buy this.
- 42:47Speaker 2: That's right. I forgot. That's right. She's now, she's gone
- 42:50Speaker 2: back to teaching and she's not clashing.
- 42:53Speaker 3: And this classroom just seems like a freaking nightmare.
- 42:56Speaker 2: She's trying to teach Jean Paul Soctra. Yeah, you know
- 43:03Speaker 2: your French you speak.
- 43:05Speaker 3: I can never decide to say it the American way
- 43:08Speaker 3: or the French way.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Oh that's but I don't do like you know here
- 43:16Speaker 2: in l A. I'm not like uh Spleveda. You know,
- 43:22Speaker 2: I'm not like Kawanga. You know, I'm like Kunga is
- 43:27Speaker 2: Paulvida French? It's Spanish. That was me trying to do
- 43:32Speaker 2: Spanish sadly okay, like I had no idea was French.
- 43:39Speaker 2: That's really interesting in a world of Spanish the streets.
- 43:44Speaker 2: They put one French one in for the one French
- 43:49Speaker 2: person involved. Oh my gosh. Okay, So we get we
- 44:03Speaker 2: get Marilynd who's like Donna smuggled them back from these
- 44:06Speaker 2: these Japanese riniculous bobs from from a trade fair in Tokyo,
- 44:10Speaker 2: and she's healing beautifully.
- 44:13Speaker 3: Got them and I am also like Birdie's like, I
- 44:15Speaker 3: want to know how she did it, and I'm like
- 44:17Speaker 3: me too, Man.
- 44:19Speaker 2: Did you really put them all in your butt? It's
- 44:21Speaker 2: really all the way up there, those bulbs, boy, Poor Donna,
- 44:24Speaker 2: Poor Donna. And I love that Brett was like, I
- 44:26Speaker 2: can't have a legal bulbs in Europe and that they
- 44:28Speaker 2: had really like the seventh episode was very funny. They
- 44:31Speaker 2: had very comedic, a lot of comedic moments.
- 44:35Speaker 3: Great comedic moments, including talking to the plants, which I
- 44:38Speaker 3: know from farmers is a very real thing. Wowoh yeah,
- 44:42Speaker 3: because my husband works with a lot of farmers and
- 44:44Speaker 3: it's true.
- 44:45Speaker 2: It's a true thing. Yeah, they really do.
- 44:47Speaker 3: They'll get down there to those seeds, like they were
- 44:49Speaker 3: saying in the episode, like they hear or they feel
- 44:51Speaker 3: the vibrations, and I'm like, yeah, these farmers they will
- 44:55Speaker 3: tell you they really yes, yes, wow. And it was
- 45:01Speaker 3: funny the way they were talking.
- 45:02Speaker 2: To it, right, you know right, I mean I was
- 45:07Speaker 2: surprised that those bulbs weren't emotionally traumatized. You know, that
- 45:11Speaker 2: those seedlings didn't come out like weeping.
- 45:15Speaker 3: Yeah, Bertie's saying like real inappropriate stuff about stain in
- 45:18Speaker 3: size and you know she's going all Bertie to them.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Just sexual. I'm not sure about that. Bertie and the
- 45:25Speaker 2: cup Wow. Wow? Wow? Is their chemistry hat hat? Hat?
- 45:29Speaker 2: I mean how about that? I love him just pulling
- 45:31Speaker 2: her over and then just getting mad and then making
- 45:34Speaker 2: out and then showing up better house being like house arrest,
- 45:37Speaker 2: and then it's just like and it's on, just this
- 45:40Speaker 2: is all so wrong, and they are getting together and
- 45:43Speaker 2: the plain sight, yes.
- 45:46Speaker 3: In plain sight, and in Alga, her maid, who you
- 45:50Speaker 3: speculated might really be her mom.
- 45:52Speaker 2: I think a long time ago, my friend Lisa Fuguer
- 45:56Speaker 2: husband said that she speculated that.
- 45:59Speaker 3: Yeah, And I'm all on board with that, because she's
- 46:01Speaker 3: way too involved for just a housemaid's. She is not
- 46:05Speaker 3: liking this relationship. She calls it delusionship, which is one
- 46:08Speaker 3: of my favorite lines, Like, you know, Bertie, what are
- 46:12Speaker 3: you thinking this is? This guy is married. He is
- 46:15Speaker 3: not ever leaving that.
- 46:16Speaker 2: Wife, you know.
- 46:17Speaker 3: And Bertie's like, well, maybe when Ford goes to college
- 46:20Speaker 3: he'll leave her. And she's like, oh, come on, delusionship,
- 46:24Speaker 3: you know that's what you have.
- 46:26Speaker 2: It was funny because she was like, and what, You'll
- 46:28Speaker 2: just be in his life and it'll go from there.
- 46:31Speaker 2: And I thought, well, if this is if Oga is
- 46:33Speaker 2: Bertie's mom, it is kind of interesting because she had
- 46:36Speaker 2: the exact plan, which is to be in her daughter's life,
- 46:38Speaker 2: and she's in her daughter's life and it seems to
- 46:41Speaker 2: be going. Well. I completely agree. Yeah, it's a strange relationship.
- 46:46Speaker 2: We don't know what that's all about. Yeah, we don't.
- 46:50Speaker 2: It is strange.
- 46:51Speaker 3: She has the balls to come in and yell at Joel,
- 46:55Speaker 3: officer Joel. She has the balls to scold him at
- 46:58Speaker 3: the fridge, like not to her. So it's interesting. That's
- 47:02Speaker 3: more than Yeah, I'm really on board with the mom
- 47:05Speaker 3: thing because it just seems way more than someone who's
- 47:08Speaker 3: just casually working.
- 47:10Speaker 2: At the house. Right, Yeah, I agree, so well, that
- 47:17Speaker 2: we find out that Joel's wife is now has seen
- 47:21Speaker 2: them together, yes, and the sun is you know, hot
- 47:27Speaker 2: on their trail too, and is like, please leave us alone,
- 47:30Speaker 2: Please stop trying to give me money. Please just go away.
- 47:34Speaker 2: You're making things very, very difficult, and this is just
- 47:37Speaker 2: a sad, sad situation. But she really busts through that
- 47:40Speaker 2: door at the school and gives the principal the what
- 47:43Speaker 2: for about the how about that? Yeah?
- 47:47Speaker 3: She comes in late to the meeting where Ford is
- 47:49Speaker 3: getting busted for cheating on some sort of test and
- 47:53Speaker 3: he's already admitted to it.
- 47:54Speaker 2: We find out like he's already admitted to it. She
- 47:57Speaker 2: comes in trying to defend him, and the principle was like,
- 47:59Speaker 2: you're too late. He already said he did it.
- 48:01Speaker 3: And she's like, well, you know that's because you coerced
- 48:04Speaker 3: him into it.
- 48:05Speaker 2: She's not even gonna lie down at that point. She's
- 48:08Speaker 2: not gonna take it.
- 48:09Speaker 3: And they have this interesting negotiation where she essentially bribes him.
- 48:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that was amazing, Like, well, how about if the
- 48:17Speaker 2: Bertie Bradley scholarship is extended after Ford graduate? We like
- 48:24Speaker 2: that very much, even more if there were two scholarships
- 48:27Speaker 2: and done beats out.
- 48:29Speaker 3: Oh.
- 48:29Speaker 2: And then Bertie meets with her ex husband, which was
- 48:31Speaker 2: a fun scene that was really fun.
- 48:34Speaker 3: He was the one, if I'm remembering correctly, it was
- 48:38Speaker 3: like the sanchrope.
- 48:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I was my accent there. Oh my god, Megan
- 48:46Speaker 2: killing it so good. Be sheep Saint Clair St. Clair.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Okay uh. And then Alice Teaching and her Harry Potter situation,
- 49:04Speaker 2: which was interesting because the I don't know who it
- 49:10Speaker 2: is that comes in and is like, watch your back,
- 49:12Speaker 2: watch your back, you got your job again? Yeah, but
- 49:15Speaker 2: then comes in and I'm not sure either, and then
- 49:18Speaker 2: she's like, oh, looks like you know, Peyton's mom is
- 49:21Speaker 2: really happy with it. So she's going with this everybody
- 49:23Speaker 2: and everybody gets an A and you get an A
- 49:24Speaker 2: and you get an A. Interesting.
- 49:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know what she's going to do when
- 49:30Speaker 3: it comes to state testing time.
- 49:32Speaker 2: I'll say that I'll tell you what. You're in trouble,
- 49:34Speaker 2: little miss. Good luck to you. Okay.
- 49:39Speaker 3: The Michigan Standardized state tests are gonna be hard.
- 49:43Speaker 2: You're gonna be a real pain in your ass. Honey,
- 49:46Speaker 2: look out, because they're not gonna get there with Harry Potter. Boy,
- 49:52Speaker 2: all right, is there anything else that we did not
- 49:55Speaker 2: touch on.
- 49:56Speaker 3: Well, I want to comment on they keep dragging out
- 49:59Speaker 3: the mystery, so we don't know, you know, we're at
- 50:01Speaker 3: the end of episode seven, but we have answered a
- 50:05Speaker 3: couple things here at the very end of episode seven.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Kind of a big deal that I forgot to mention. Yeah,
- 50:10Speaker 2: it's it's.
- 50:12Speaker 3: Well, first of all, big deal to me that it's
- 50:14Speaker 3: not Tucker, like we know that for sure Tucker Catherine's husband,
- 50:18Speaker 3: because that all becomes clear that, you know, we already
- 50:22Speaker 3: talked about that, that she admits to him whatever's going on.
- 50:24Speaker 3: He saves her with the security cam. But they after
- 50:28Speaker 3: they are at the police station. This is in the future,
- 50:31Speaker 3: the day after the gala. They're having a drink and
- 50:35Speaker 3: in walks Gary.
- 50:37Speaker 2: So he's alive. He's alive. But then remember when she
- 50:42Speaker 2: says about Gary, you don't have to worry about him
- 50:46Speaker 2: ever again. Yeah, but was that was before we see
- 50:51Speaker 2: Gary appear, right, yes?
- 50:54Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, so I thought that was like weirdly misleading.
- 50:57Speaker 2: I was like, okay, so it is he's dead, right, yeah,
- 51:00Speaker 2: And then he pops up and there he is and
- 51:02Speaker 2: they have a big chuckle. Yeah, it's a lie. Look
- 51:06Speaker 2: at that who knew and they laugh, You're right, like,
- 51:11Speaker 2: this is so we.
- 51:13Speaker 3: Were led down that road that it was Gary totally.
- 51:16Speaker 3: We thought it was going to be Gary. But they
- 51:18Speaker 3: have answered that really plainly here at the end of seven.
- 51:21Speaker 3: It's not Gary, it's not Tucker. Those were like two
- 51:24Speaker 3: of my top guesses for who it was going to be.
- 51:28Speaker 3: I thought, So now I'm back.
- 51:30Speaker 2: To not knowing. I can't figure out who the heck
- 51:34Speaker 2: is going to get it. They also are showing that
- 51:37Speaker 2: it's more Catherine's fault and yeah, birdies than it is
- 51:41Speaker 2: anyone else's, right, that's pointing towards her, and she keeps
- 51:45Speaker 2: taking more responsibility than anybody. She does, Yeah, with who's
- 51:50Speaker 2: going to drive the body?
- 51:51Speaker 3: She says something like this is all my fault or
- 51:54Speaker 3: something like that, where so I don't know, you know.
- 51:58Speaker 2: They gave us a couple back in a episode.
- 52:00Speaker 3: For the Doug and Brett fight the night of the gala,
- 52:04Speaker 3: But I don't know if that's Doug, I don't know.
- 52:08Speaker 2: I don't know how that would tie to Catherine. What
- 52:11Speaker 2: if it's the gas station attendant, Yeah, that would be
- 52:17Speaker 2: I mean so boring if it was like who cares? Yeah, right,
- 52:22Speaker 2: that would be sort of a weird, a weird twist,
- 52:25Speaker 2: but it is so strange. Okay, all right, Well, what
- 52:30Speaker 2: a fun just bunch of episodes that we got to
- 52:33Speaker 2: take in. And I love it and I'm really impressed
- 52:36Speaker 2: with the show. They're doing such a great job and
- 52:38Speaker 2: what a phenomenal cast.
- 52:41Speaker 3: Truly, such a good cast all the way around. Everyone's
- 52:44Speaker 3: just a great mixture of dramatic and funny.
- 52:48Speaker 2: Yeah, so good, Megan. Can you please tell everybody where
- 52:51Speaker 2: they can find you, as well as your business, your
- 52:55Speaker 2: coaching business and things of that nature. Yes, you can
- 52:58Speaker 2: find me.

- 53:08Speaker 3: all sorts of people. I will make a reference to
- 53:12Speaker 3: something we talked about earlier. I worked with someone not
- 53:14Speaker 3: long ago at a big security camera company.
- 53:17Speaker 2: Wow, And so it is real true.
- 53:20Speaker 3: These people have a lot of power because all that
- 53:22Speaker 3: stuff I got into. So I helped them prepare for
- 53:25Speaker 3: some speeches in a panel. And it is that's a
- 53:30Speaker 3: huge industry. Like when you think about how much is
- 53:33Speaker 3: on camera now everywhere. They're the people that are running it,
- 53:37Speaker 3: and it's up in the cloud. And you know, whether
- 53:40Speaker 3: it's like security cams that are on traffic lights and
- 53:43Speaker 3: on corners or personal security.
- 53:45Speaker 2: It's a huge business.
- 53:46Speaker 3: But at any rate, I meant to say that before
- 53:48Speaker 3: I helped helped them.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Prepare them, dear, you know, like, really make sure you
- 53:54Speaker 2: stay in touch with them. Megan. Now we know you
- 53:56Speaker 2: have the connection. I got the connection to closed circuit
- 54:01Speaker 2: Television really CCTV. That's what they call us, right, I
- 54:05Speaker 2: mean for the most part, Yeah, right, Oh my gosh.
- 54:08Speaker 2: That's great. You can also follow Meghan on Instagram. What's
