Speaker 1: He's getting ready for our remote broadcast coming up here in a couple of weeks at the Hemming.
• 0:40
  Speaker 2: Hideout.
• 0:41
Speaker 2: I texted him this morning.
• 0:42
Speaker 2: He was up early Really.
• 0:43
Speaker 2: Yeah, Probably been up all night.
• 0:46
Speaker 2: Yeah, probably just getting in.
• 0:47
Speaker 2: You know how these young guys are.
• 0:48
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 0:50
Speaker 1: I do know that.
• 0:50
Speaker 1: No, I don't know that I was going to say, but I remember that kind of from way back in the day.
• 0:56
Speaker 3: He gets his diary out and reads it.
• 0:58
Speaker 2: Well, he used to take his little horse and put it back up in the barn.
• 1:05
Speaker 1: Really, yeah, okay, you want to go there.
• 1:07
  Speaker 2: No.
• 1:08
Speaker 1: Okay, some of the recalls this week, tesla recalling 46,096 Cybertrucks in the US Nearly all the Cybertrucks built in the first 15 months of production to fix an exterior panel that could detach while driving.
• 1:23
Speaker 1: Latest in a series of callbacks for the pickup since last year, recall is over issues with a stainless steel exterior trim panel that can delaminate and detach from the vehicle.
• 1:34
Speaker 1: You know the way that they put cars together these days.
• 1:39
Speaker 1: A lot of it has to do with glue.
• 1:41
Speaker 1: Yes, and so the mounting points to the panel usually are glued onto the panel.
• 1:48
Speaker 3: Well, somebody well, and when you get them hot for various reasons on the parking lot nowadays in certain states, then that panel, the glue melts.
• 1:57
  Speaker 3: It's one.
• 1:58
Speaker 1: It's one panel, not, you know, the same two front or the two rear, whatever.
• 2:02
  Speaker 1: No, it's, it's one panel.
• 2:03
Speaker 1: Who knows Some sort of production mess up there?
• 2:06
Speaker 1: Faux pas, transmission damage may cause wheel lockup.
• 2:10
Speaker 1: Cadillacs no CT4, ct5, ct6, and the Chevy Camaro 2020 through 2022, you're getting recalled In property secured front seat frame.
• 2:22
  Speaker 1: Nissan Sentra 2025.
• 2:24
Speaker 1: Land Rover Range Rover for 2025, seat buckle may not latch.
• 2:29
Speaker 1: Also, the Land Rover Range Rover Sport for 2025.
• 2:33
Speaker 1: You know there's certain glitches.
• 2:36
Speaker 1: You know the car manufacturers these days are not manufacturers, really, they're assemblers.
• 2:41
Speaker 1: And so they have outsiders that manufacture certain portions of the car, some of them general motors is good about making their own engine, so is ford.
• 2:53
Speaker 1: But the rest of the components, the fenders, uh, the starters suspension components.
• 2:59
Speaker 1: All that's done by suppliers.
• 3:01
Speaker 1: And, uh, I didn't realize this.
• 3:03
Speaker 1: I guess I didn't really think about it, but the suppliers are.
• 3:08
Speaker 1: If they manufacture something that is not good, it's on them.
• 3:12
Speaker 1: So those recalls on them Ugly.
• 3:18
Speaker 1: And then it's on the actual manufacturer of the car to bring it in, pay the mechanic to fix it, through the vendor, the vendor right and and unfortunately they, they take the hit for the recall because it's it's their product don't want to have recalls but, as I mentioned last last weekend on our show ford, almost all of the recalls and there were a lot of of them were mostly Fords, and Ford has been battling this issue for several years now.
• 3:48
Speaker 1: That's nothing new, but it seems to have ramped up recently.
• 3:51
Speaker 1: I think if I'm Ford, I'm going to go.
• 3:54
Speaker 1: You know, are we engineering it the wrong way and telling these guys to produce it this way?
• 3:59
Speaker 1: Or are they buying the person, the company that's the cheapest to manufacture the part?
• 4:06
Speaker 1: Or a combination of both?
• 4:08
Speaker 2: To that point and there's some electronic parts that are not only specific to General Motors, but they'll make a widget and that widget fits that manufacturer, that manufacturer, that manufacturer, for that feature to work.
• 4:21
Speaker 2: Now, if it goes bad across the board, it goes bad across the board.
• 4:25
Speaker 2: That's why you get all the manufacturers recall.
• 4:28
Speaker 3: Takata Airbags is a great example of that.
• 4:29
Speaker 1: That's exactly it yeah, because it's one vendor I know For like every manufacturer in the world, and it's funny that they place all their eggs in one basket like that.
• 4:42
Speaker 3: Well, you get the counters, the bean counters start looking at economies of scale.
• 4:46
Speaker 3: Well, we can save 10 cents.
• 4:47
Speaker 1: if we do this, we're not going to worry about two years from now, which for you and me, 10 cents is not a big deal, but for a manufacturer you multiply that times millions, Turn it into a couple of million dollars yeah, it's significant.
• 4:58
Speaker 1: Yep, all right Now, let's have some fun, shall we?
• 5:02
  Speaker 1: We?
• 5:02
Speaker 1: All right Now, let's have some fun, shall we?
• 5:03
Speaker 1: We're going to do that.
• 5:04
Speaker 1: Yeehaw, hemmingscom sold cars roundup.
• 5:06
Speaker 1: Okay, give me a second, this is Go ahead, you just pipe down over there.
• 5:10
Speaker 1: All right, I'll do that.
• 5:10
Speaker 1: This is a segment that we do.
• 5:12
Speaker 1: That Hemmings puts out once a week of the cars that they are auctioning off online, and these, for the most part, we like to pick cars that might interest you as a collector car or something different that you want to drive, got a little extra change in the pocketbook and ready to dive in.
• 5:31
Speaker 1: So here, my friends, is a 1967 ford mustang, and um, we like to have the boys here, jeff and mike.
• 5:41
Speaker 1: Guess what the price sold was for this car.
• 5:47
Speaker 1: Now, I'm not going to get into all the details of it.
• 5:49
Speaker 1: Does it have the original engine?
• 5:51
  Speaker 1: Probably not.
• 5:52
Speaker 1: Has it been repainted?
• 5:53
  Speaker 1: Probably.
• 5:54
Speaker 1: Does it have stock wheels on it?
• 5:56
Speaker 1: No, this clearly does not.
• 5:57
Speaker 1: You know there's certain aspects of it, but that's not the point here.
• 6:01
Speaker 1: The point is that if you want to drive a 1967 Ford Mustang, put it in the garage, tinker with it, have fun with it, take it out and cruise in and stuff like that, then this is my cup of tea.
• 6:13
Speaker 1: So, a 1967 Ford Mustang orange.
• 6:17
Speaker 1: It's got some rally stripes on the front of it and a stripe down the middle, and is that a stock hood?
• 6:24
Speaker 3: No, it's kind of hard to tell no, tell no.
• 6:26
Speaker 3: No, that's not a stock chin spoiler striping.
• 6:29
  Speaker 2: Yeah, it's got.
• 6:30
Speaker 1: It's been modified, so we call a restomod.
• 6:32
Speaker 1: So what do you think that that's sold for?
• 6:33
Speaker 3: I'm going to go 14 oh no, I'm going to go 28.
• 6:37
  Speaker 3: Heightsman says 25, 18, 9 way to go, jeff 18.9.
• 6:43
Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, there's a lot of things.
• 6:47
Speaker 2: I see there's no side mirror for the passenger, so that's a deduct.
• 6:53
Speaker 1: for me that's easy to fix, though.
• 6:54
Speaker 1: I mean, if you're a tinkerer and you like to do that, you can buy a repro side view mirror.
• 6:58
  Speaker 2: You can.
• 6:59
Speaker 2: I'm not too fancy on the striping on the fender there either.
• 7:02
Speaker 1: Take that off, sand it off, yeah next up?
• 7:08
Speaker 3: no, no engine emblems either now probably got a six cylinder in it, whatever.
• 7:13
Speaker 1: Okay, here's one that you know.
• 7:14
Speaker 1: When it first came out, they had chevrolet, in their infinite wisdom, did those built-in side skirts for the back wheels, and I'm going, I can't believe that they would build something that ugly.
• 7:26
Speaker 1: Well, as the years progressed and they couldn't sell everybody on that, they finally opened up that back rear wheel well, and made it look fairly decent.
• 7:38
  Speaker 1: So this is a 1995 Chevrolet Impala, a four-door sedan.
• 7:43
Speaker 1: I don't know if this is the.
• 7:46
Speaker 1: They had an SS version, they had several versions of it.
• 7:49
Speaker 2: They even had a wagon.
• 7:50
Speaker 2: They did yeah, I loved it.
• 7:52
Speaker 1: So this is a 95 Chevy Impala.
• 7:54
Speaker 1: Obviously it's got aftermarket wheels on it.
• 7:59
Speaker 1: What do you think something like that would sell for today?
• 8:01
  Speaker 1: I'm going to go $16,000.
• 8:05
  Speaker 3: I'm thinking more like 12.
• 8:07
Speaker 3: Wow, really Well, it's just I've never seen those sell very good.
• 8:12
  Speaker 3: Heitzman says 31.
• 8:14
Speaker 1: Well, heitzman, I think, is closer than both of you, because it sold for 26,250.
• 8:19
Speaker 1: Dang, but he went over.
• 8:21
Speaker 2: He did go over.
• 8:22
Speaker 2: But this isn't the price is right.
• 8:25
Speaker 1: The price is Wrong, Bob All right man Next up is a 1976 Triumph TR6.
• 8:35
Speaker 1: Now, did this not have a six-cylinder in it?
• 8:37
Speaker 1: I think that the TR6 had a six, but I'm not sure, because I think the TR4 had a four.
• 8:44
Speaker 3: I thought the seven was when they went to the 6.
• 8:46
Speaker 1: I don't know it doesn't make any difference.
• 8:48
Speaker 1: What do you think some British thing like this would cost?
• 8:51
Speaker 1: I'm not a big fan of British cars.
• 8:54
Speaker 2: They're fun to drive.
• 8:54
  Speaker 2: I had a brother-in-law that had one.
• 8:57
  Speaker 1: A spider.
• 8:57
  Speaker 1: They're like little go-karts.
• 8:59
  Speaker 1: 76 Triumph TR6.
• 9:05
  Speaker 3: I have no clue, I'll say 16.
• 9:06
  Speaker 3: I'll go 20.
• 9:06
  Speaker 3: Heisman says 27.
• 9:09
  Speaker 1: Sold for $21,000.
• 9:11
Speaker 1: Dang, I'll take it, that looks pretty good?
• 9:15
Speaker 3: No, it does, it's very.
• 9:16
Speaker 2: Redline tires on it.
• 9:17
Speaker 2: That's a little set off there.
• 9:19
Speaker 2: Black interior that's nice Okay.
• 9:22
Speaker 1: Now here's one for you old schoolers out there.
• 9:24
Speaker 1: This is let's see what Weitzman says before I say anything A 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Wide whites.
• 9:33
Speaker 1: Now, they weren't wide whites when the car was new.
• 9:37
Speaker 1: This looks like a completely stock vehicle to me.
• 9:41
Speaker 3: It's got the big red steering wheel on the inside.
• 9:43
  Speaker 3: Wait a minute.
• 9:44
Speaker 1: What are those wheels?
• 9:45
Speaker 1: Those aren't stock wheels, they're hubcaps.
• 9:48
Speaker 4: Oh, they're hubcaps, Okay Well they're wheel covers, not hubcaps.
• 9:51
Speaker 1: Well, yeah, wheel covers, okay, but it does have chrome exhaust tips on it.
• 9:54
  Speaker 1: So is it.
• 9:59
Speaker 1: There went the price.
• 9:59
Speaker 1: Yeah, did they offer chrome tips on 57?
• 10:01
  Speaker 1: I don't think so.
• 10:02
Speaker 1: I don't think they even offered exhaust.
• 10:03
  Speaker 1: But that's Well, there's that.
• 10:05
  Speaker 1: So this is a two-door.
• 10:06
Speaker 1: It is a hard top, so it's got the post in it.
• 10:10
Speaker 1: 57, chevy, bel Air.
• 10:12
Speaker 1: What do you think something like this would cost?
• 10:13
  Speaker 1: I'm going 34.
• 10:16
  Speaker 3: Oh, I'm just 34.
• 10:17
Speaker 3: Oh, I was going to go 22.
• 10:19
  Speaker 3: Heitzman says 18.
• 10:20
  Speaker 3: Really.
• 10:23
  Speaker 1: That's a pretty clean-looking car, yeah but it's stock.
• 10:28
Speaker 3: Well, you don't know that.
• 10:29
Speaker 1: It could have an LS engine under the hood.
• 10:31
Speaker 1: Well, it could have.
• 10:32
Speaker 1: It has the stock stance.
• 10:34
Speaker 3: Yes, and it's got the big red steering wheel.
• 10:36
  Speaker 3: On the inside.
• 10:36
  Speaker 3: It's got a red interior.
• 10:38
Speaker 3: Yeah, I got that.
• 10:39
Speaker 1: So the car sold for $38,325.
• 10:42
Speaker 1: Ouch, well, I think that that's probably a fair price.
• 10:45
  Speaker 1: What?
• 10:45
  Speaker 3: did he say?
• 10:46
  Speaker 3: He said $18,000.
• 10:47
Speaker 3: Well, to me, though, something like that's got to be the buyer.
• 10:51
Speaker 3: I mean, that's not something that I don't think any one of us would buy.
• 10:57
Speaker 2: I've got to have it.
• 10:57
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, and it could get bit up pretty easily because it is a very collectible car, very iconic car I mean talk about American- classic, but the people that would want one that's completely stock and original, like that, that's going to be limited.
• 11:10
Speaker 1: They wouldn't put that on this Hemings auction, that would be at some Barrett Jackson auction.
• 11:16
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true, you've got to consider the source.
• 11:19
Speaker 1: All right, here's mine.
• 11:21
Speaker 1: I would really like to have this car.
• 11:23
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle.
• 11:27
Speaker 1: Oh, look Look at that right there.
• 11:29
Speaker 1: Now it also the hood, the fender stripes on this, yeah, not a fan.
• 11:35
Speaker 3: This would be Don's.
• 11:41
  Speaker 1: That's very JC Whitney-ish.
• 11:41
Speaker 1: Don't make me have to come down there and do ugly things to your head, I do like.
• 11:48
Speaker 1: Does it have the cowl induction hood?
• 11:50
Speaker 1: Yeah, it does have cowl.
• 11:52
Speaker 2: Yeah, cowl, but there's no the side stripes.
• 11:55
Speaker 2: Just don't do it for me I don't know, Because that's not, it's kind of a Chrysler thing.
• 11:59
Speaker 2: No, corvette, I'm thinking the Corvette.
• 12:01
  Speaker 1: The GS yeah.
• 12:03
Speaker 3: I would take that off of there.
• 12:05
Speaker 1: I think I'd go with some more stock-looking wheels.
• 12:07
Speaker 1: They don't have to be completely stock, but at least have the look to it.
• 12:11
  Speaker 3: I like the wheels 70.
• 12:12
Speaker 1: Chevy Chevelle, Of course you are from Neiderville.
• 12:26
Speaker 3: How much you are from neederville.
• 12:27
Speaker 3: Yeah, how much do you think that that would go for?
• 12:28
Speaker 3: On the hemmings sold car website, I'm going to say 31.
• 12:29
Speaker 3: Heitzman says 32, but I'm going to bump up back to 28.
• 12:31
Speaker 2: That's not bumping up.
• 12:31
Speaker 2: I know I went the wrong way.
• 12:32
Speaker 3: Well, theoretically it is theoretically yes, if you're laying down or not, so I would would go for the 28.
• 12:38
Speaker 1: And your day bed, yeah, okay.
• 12:40
Speaker 1: Well, the sold car price is $37,538.
• 12:43
Speaker 1: Oh, and I think that that's a fair price.
• 12:45
Speaker 2: Yeah, a little high, but it is a nice car.
• 12:46
  Speaker 2: I think it's a little high.
• 12:48
  Speaker 1: It.
• 12:48
Speaker 1: Just, you don't know what's got under the hood.
• 12:50
Speaker 1: Yeah, of course, all of that information is available on Hemm leather interior.
• 13:00
Speaker 1: All right, uh, next up is the oh, we got to move along here a 52 chevy 3100.
• 13:03
Speaker 1: Now this has got patina, a patina paint job on it.
• 13:04
Speaker 1: It's been buffed up.
• 13:04
Speaker 1: They've also put a chrome grill on it.
• 13:06
  Speaker 1: It's been lowered.
• 13:07
Speaker 1: It's got modifications to it.
• 13:09
Speaker 1: Probably got a late model v8 in it, if I were a guessing man, along with power steering, because I don't think in 52 they offered power steering pickup trucks and, uh, truck, yeah, it is.
• 13:18
  Speaker 1: I like this.
• 13:19
Speaker 1: Look, I like everything about it.
• 13:21
  Speaker 1: So a 52 Chevy 3100.
• 13:24
Speaker 1: I believe that that's the three-quarter ton, if I'm not mistaken.
• 13:27
Speaker 1: Anyway, what do you think that that would?
• 13:28
  Speaker 2: be, 41.
• 13:29
  Speaker 1: 41,.
• 13:30
Speaker 3: Jeff says yeah, Heitzman says 19, but I'm going to say 32.
• 13:33
  Speaker 3: 38, 850.
• 13:35
  Speaker 1: 38, 850.
• 13:36
  Speaker 1: 38, 850.
• 13:37
  Speaker 1: 38, 850.
• 13:39
Speaker 1: I'll give you that one, Michael.
• 13:40
Speaker 1: Next up is the 84 Mercury Cougar.
• 13:43
Speaker 2: What Looks like a Chrysler Cordoba.
• 13:46
  Speaker 1: My ex-wife.
• 13:47
Speaker 1: We had a big fight and she went out and bought this car, oh, and then, within the year, put it up to the roof in a flood.
• 13:55
Speaker 1: Oh, it was great.
• 13:58
Speaker 1: 84 Mercury Cougar sold for.
• 14:02
Speaker 1: By the way, this car has less than 22,000 miles.
• 14:05
Speaker 1: I wonder if this one went through the flood.
• 14:07
Speaker 2: Maybe this is the flood car.
• 14:08
Speaker 2: It could be the flood car 84 Mercury Cougar.
• 14:11
  Speaker 3: It's ocean blue.
• 14:12
Speaker 3: You never see these things?
• 14:13
  Speaker 3: No, you don't.
• 14:14
Speaker 3: Well, you wouldn't recognize it as a Cougar anyway.
• 14:16
Speaker 1: I'm sure that they've covered up all the rust from the flood $8,000.
• 14:22
  Speaker 3: $8,000?
• 14:23
  Speaker 3: I'll go $10,000.
• 14:24
  Speaker 3: Heitzman's up at $29,000.
• 14:26
  Speaker 3: How about $12,600?
• 14:28
Speaker 1: Okay, michael, you know what I want.
• 14:33
Speaker 1: To own the Jeff Heitzman Memorial used car lot.
• 14:34
Speaker 1: I can make some money there.
• 14:36
  Speaker 1: Stick to spaceships.
• 14:37
Speaker 2: Jeffrey, and then finally this morning a 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL.
• 14:43
Speaker 1: Now in 88, this was the cream of the crop.
• 14:47
Speaker 1: I knew a woman that had one of these and I wanted to kill her.
• 14:51
  Speaker 1: She was a stuck-up.
• 14:54
Speaker 1: Was that number one or two?
• 14:56
  Speaker 3: I don't know.
• 14:56
  Speaker 1: Some woman that I worked with 88 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL 88.
• 15:03
Speaker 3: That's another one of them.
• 15:04
  Speaker 2: I'm going to go 26.
• 15:07
Speaker 2: I have no idea.
• 15:08
Speaker 2: I'm going to go.
• 15:09
Speaker 2: I have no idea.
• 15:11
  Speaker 2: 20.
• 15:11
  Speaker 2: Heitzman says 33.
• 15:14
Speaker 2: No, I'm going to go.
• 15:15
Speaker 2: In the teens, let's go 18.
• 15:16
  Speaker 2: 14.7, jeff 14.7.
• 15:19
  Speaker 1: No.
• 15:19
Speaker 3: I'm going to go in the teens, let's go 18.
• 15:20

• 24:35
  Speaker 2: Kevlar-lined truck tires.
• 24:37
