- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's fuck ya Friday!
- 0:01[SPEAKER_01]: Fuck you!
- 0:05[SPEAKER_01]: Get ready for some wins!
- 0:28[SPEAKER_01]: and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_01]: Each week my guess will bring bold, executable, intrinsic, and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it until you see it.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: I hate to be a babe, how are you?
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my God, the year is coming to an end.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: Are you enjoying the habit, series?
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: Have you started listening?
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: This whole month where I just talk about habits and it's really my goal.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll hear my win later on this episode is to just help you understand that the life you want is literally series of habits that stack on to each other and allow you to have boundaries, but also the energy you need to do the things you care about.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_01]: But before you get into that, we have to celebrate your wins.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: And then it's finally on the internet.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: And a little affirmation.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: So this is something I came up and it's really cool.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: So in 1983, there was, you know, there's the pot raise.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_01]: If you follow sports at all, this is a baseball.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: In 1983, there was a 21-year-old to assign to the pot raise.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: That's amazing baseball player.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like people were like, he's going to have a 30-year career.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it's possible, but maybe in 1993 it was.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, he was just going to have this amazing, amazing life.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: And as he was practicing and warming up,
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: He had a, like, a car, a cardio with me.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: I like some sort of heart attack type of a thing, something undiagnosed, no, a new he had it.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't know he had it.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: And even though he was rushed to the hospital, he never had a coma for six months.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: And when he came out of it, he was mentally and physically disabled.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: He never going to play again.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: Whole life has changed.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: His family was super worried because like, we're going to get the money for his medical bills.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: He can't work now.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, all this stuff.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: So get this.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, no one knew that this is going to happen, but this is what the podries did.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: They just kept signing him for 30 years.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: They just kept signing him.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: He was like one of the longest signed baseball players.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: He was never played for the podries because he had this hard attack, right?
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: And the director of minor league relations, Priscilla Oppenheimer, she personally made sure that he was taken care of and they kept him with health insurance.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: How freaking amazing is this?
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like, yes, look, it's pro baseball team.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: Technically, they have all the money in the world to do this, but they didn't have to do this.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: And even in doing the first part, just making sure he's money, keeping him signed, they got the health intro.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, all these things that people just went out of their way, above and beyond, and I think it's really important because the reality is, even though they are a professional baseball team, it's not like their professional teams don't have profit margin.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: right, they don't have things to think about, and this person didn't even make them any money.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: So they just did this.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: And I was just thinking, wow, like, well, that's not something I can do.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: It does maybe go, wow, there are some things that I can do, right?
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: There are some ways we can just do things.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: And no one even knew that they were doing this.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: This is not like something like the Padres are like just out proclaiming every single year, we signed Matt LaTapa again.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: They just did it, just for the, just because it's the right thing to do.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: And so that just really inspired me,
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: kind of world where there's a lot of shit going on and people are taking people's health care way and making it more expensive and just being all around assholes.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: There are people out there who are trying to do the right thing with where we're at.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, it just made me smile and I think we needed that.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: And I hope what I hope you do is check the link in the show notes and watch the video because it's actually like just quite inspiring.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: And they see want to know more about how that was made and like who this person was and what kind of career they can have.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: hearing these things because it inspires me as a small business owner like what could I do?
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: How could I build things in?
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: I'm I'm sure you know that like OPC donates in Nevada, SPCA because there are no kill shelter and I want to adopt all the dogs and I cannot adopt all the dogs.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: I can't.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: Not an option for me, but it lets me, you know, continue to donate and go okay at least that dog's application fee is taking care of so someone else can have an amazing dog.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, what, what are the things that you can do?
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: And then also just being kind, you're probably doing a lot already and trying to overexend yourself to celebrate what you are doing and acknowledge that.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, can we agree to that?
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, great.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so you can actually send that in as a win, right, like you can send in the things that you that you have done, the donations you have made as a win because that allows you to celebrate the thing you're doing and inspire others as well.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so Laura Fielding from our elevator program, and she's been to our retreat in Cambodia as well.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: On Tuesday morning, I woke up to a message from my lead instructor informing me that she was reviewing my class that Tuesday morning.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: I was so cranky dealing with a severe jet lag and a science infection that the text almost had me in tears.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's for to the class.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: I had Leslie in my head and I had applied all the knowledge he has given me.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: I got a perfect review and the lead instructor actually asked if I would train her.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: She said it was the best CP class she has ever taken.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: She said she loved how the class flowed and was surprised how much rotation, side-bending extension I was able to fit in.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: Most instructors hardly do this.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: She purchased three private sessions and said that she can't wait to work with me.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: Woohoo!
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: Love you, Dane.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: Fuck yeah!
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: Friday!
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, oh my freaking goodness!
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: We're just the coolest person.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: Do you just feel so good?
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: I hope that you're hearing that, makes you go, because it makes me so excited to reread that.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I think no matter what you do with your teacher or like, in Pilates or you teach people or you work in an office or you have your own thing, like,
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes, we can all think of a time when like somebody who is like, oh, this person's opinion of me matters, even if I don't want it to.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_01]: And then you kind of have to psych yourself up and you go through all the emotions of fear and worry and like, am I worthy?
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: And then you freaking show up and you just trust yourself and you just do it.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: And then, and then you get like something even better than you thought you would get.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: That is a thing.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's why it's like we have to be really intentional about the work that we do and the work we put in and how we talked to ourselves.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: And then we have to just allow it to show up for us so that we can, I mean, like basically, of course, you probably knew we'd get a good review, right?
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: But this got you, you hadn't, it was on your wild card that she'd buy privates to with you?
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: And that is because you showed up and you were your whole self.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: and you took all the work you've been doing and you laid it all out there and you have and like I'm just so freaking happy for you.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you for sharing that with us, Laura.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: We all can send your wins in to beepod.com slash questions.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: We want to hear them.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: I want to show them.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: I want to read them.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: I want to get excited with you.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: That would just like mean the world to me.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, my win.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: So the other day I was doing a reflection call with my partner of the one of the partners of the mallet tour and she was telling me, you know, about how since I've been at her studio, like every single day someone has mentioned something they learned from my workshops.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, yeah, I know, even though I'm not there to hear it, I was also getting, I've been getting so many people tagging me in setting up their habits and working on them and like each day trying to like get that habit to be something that is attainable for them, that they can celebrate.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: And especially this month as it is the habit to month here at be at pod with our habit series going on, I like found myself just normally when I open my
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, oh, I wish I didn't have to do this in my job.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: But my DMs have been filled with people showing up for themselves and tagging me in that.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: And my freaking win is that I want received every single of those.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, yeah, celebrated with them.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't go, well, they did like, I didn't discount my effect of my workshop in that life.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, yeah,
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so proud of the works that I taught and made so much sense.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: I helped them see what was possible with some tough but tender love and I get to every single day wake up to a DM of somebody working on a habit that's making their life better.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: their life better.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: And because they're doing that for themselves, the people that they love are going to have a more energetic, more energized human being around them.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: And they're going to have more time to do the things that they're designed and destined to do on this life.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: And then there's bigger impact there.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I freaking am so excited.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: So my win is I taught an epic workshop a couple months ago, and it keeps on giving to those who attended.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: And to me, because I can celebrate that.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: This can, they can be something that you're just like, oh my god, I did do that.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: That's a win, right?
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: I hope that these weekly episodes just help you see just how many different ways you can celebrate yourself and the things you're doing because I just think we're just so heart-weigh, like think about all the different things we didn't do.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: You guys, I never finish a due-do list.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm always behind at work.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like I am, I work so hard to get ahead that even in trying to get ahead on behind,
- 9:11[SPEAKER_01]: But when I get caught up, I'm still on time.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I have to set those things up for myself, those parameters, but the reality is is like, no one ever, no not a single person you admire is finishing their task every single day.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not happening.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like, that's not how the world works.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_01]: But I can't tell you that the people you admire who are doing epic things that you wish you were doing have self-care routines that put them as a priority.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: And for that, you need habit.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: So check out the habit series if you haven't already.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_01]: All right, let's get you an affirmation and get you on your weekend.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: So my love is here we are.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: Your affirmation is, today is an opportunity to grow and learn.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: Today is an opportunity to grow and learn.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, today is an opportunity to grow and learn.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: What do you get to grow on today?
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: What do you got to learn?
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: You got to water, right?
- 9:59[SPEAKER_01]: Think of yourself as a plant.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: What do you get to water?
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: I want to know.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: You're at the be a pot.
