- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Hello, everybody, and welcome back to another episode of the Tortured Fans Apartment Podcast.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: I am Sean Boyle.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: I am joined once again by my dear friend, the one and only, Mr.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: Jeremy Good.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: Jeremy, how are you?
- 0:34SPEAKER_02: Uh doing well, Sean.
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: Of course, we had some technical difficulties on my end with the Wi-Fi.
- 0:39SPEAKER_02: Uh, I thought it was a good idea when the my building said they were switching to bulk Wi-Fi.
- 0:45SPEAKER_02: I guess it isn't, but uh but here we are.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Jared, last couple of times you used to have great Wi-Fi, and I think they might have swindled you because it has taken a turn for the worst.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: We are toughing it out.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: God gives his toughest to his strongest.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: You know that.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: Yes, of course.
- 1:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I was paying an arm and a light for Wi-Fi earlier before it went to bulk.
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: So I guess that, you know, you get good Wi-Fi when you pay for it.
- 1:08SPEAKER_02: And now, you know, not the case, but alas, we're here.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Well, tell some more people to like and subscribe in the streets of Philadelphia, and we might be able to cover some Wi-Fi costs if they help us out.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: So we covered eventually.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Could be a business expense.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Jar, we've got a fun agenda today.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: It is, of course, heavy dose of football.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: We're going to talk college quickly and then we will move to the NFL, where we will do some panic stations for listeners from last year.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: You will be familiar with those.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: We like to do a check-in, especially early in the season, and kind of figure out which team should be panicking and which team should be comfortable.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: So we'll get to that in a bit.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: We'll start in the world of college gear.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: We previewed the game last week.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: It was Lane's return to Oxford, Mississippi.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Did this one live up to the hype for you?
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: Game-wise, no.
- 1:54SPEAKER_02: Uh, anytime a game is 24-7 and a half, it's not looking good in terms of, you know, competition.
- 2:00SPEAKER_02: It got a little close towards the end, kind of, but not really.
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: Kind of a dud.
- 2:05SPEAKER_02: Not anybody's fault, too.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: You know, a lot of people get upset when these games don't live up to what they're supposed to be, quote unquote.
- 2:13SPEAKER_02: It is what it is.
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: It happens.
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: The environment itself, the build-up was good enough.
- 2:18SPEAKER_02: And a lot of times when you build something up really high, it's hard to, you know, live live to that moment or whatnot.
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: So not ideal.
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: Not not what we I think we were hoping for, but early in the season, too, we'll have more opportunities with other teams, other games later on.
- 2:35SPEAKER_02: So yeah, that's my thoughts, I guess.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, certainly would echo most of that.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: I think the game was obviously it came down to the last possession, so it was close, but it never really felt like LSU were going to actually win, in my opinion.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: And a large part of that was because of the bold move for Ole Miss to go for two there, which was genius in hindsight.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: I mean, wow, did that work out?
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: I I was questioning the decision massively as it occurred, but then the more you think about it, I heard some people point out that Lane definitely would have gone for two in the win if LSU had scored.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: So I could I do kind of respect that, just trying to deal the first blow.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: I will say my biggest takeaway from this one, Chair.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: Two things.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: The first one was we can't have both teams run out at the same time, as we're all anticipating the biggest boo in the history of booze for Lane Kiffin.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he kind of snuck his team out the same time Old Miss were running out, and it was completely under the radar any sort of booze that occurred.
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: Lane's a sneaky guy, Sean.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: We know that ever, you know, it's Tennessee Day, USC, of course.
- 3:35SPEAKER_02: Even uh even as a coordinator at Alabama, he was uh he was up to some stuff.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I kind of smart.
- 3:40SPEAKER_02: I tip my cat.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: I he he he knows what he's doing in these situations.
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: Um he's a sly guy, and uh this is just another another chapter to his slyness, and that was that was interesting.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: He might have blown through the marketing team's on field stop sign.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: He might have just blown right through that if they were trying to stop him.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: So that that's one thing that I took away from the game.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: The other biggest thing, Jared, was I am not a Sam Levitt guy.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: It turns out I haven't watched a ton of him, and maybe that's why I was drinking the juice, believing the hype heading into this one.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: I thought it was going to be a good quarterback matchup.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: I left the game feeling that there was an ocean between the play of Trinidad Chambliss and the play of Sam Levitt.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: Sam seems to be a guy who looks at one read, if it's not there immediately, he just tucks it and scurries away.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: And he's an athletic kid, but boy, did it seem like a man versus a boy in the quarterback pocket in that game.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: And that ultimately was the difference for me.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Trinidad just cooked that LSU defense, and Sam Levit really struggled to get anything going throughout almost all of the game.
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: Well, you're you might you are right about the man versus boy kind of thing because Trinidad Champless is 29 years old, so he does have that adult component.
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I agree.
- 4:53SPEAKER_02: I think uh I'll give I'll give uh Levick a little credit.
- 4:57SPEAKER_02: He's tough.
- 4:58SPEAKER_02: I mean, he has some tough moments, but I just saw a mock draft on Walter football a few days ago.
- 5:04SPEAKER_02: They still have him slot as like a top 10, top 15 pick.
- 5:08SPEAKER_02: Obviously, that's you know, quarterback position people are gonna reach.
- 5:13SPEAKER_02: I don't see it necessarily with him overall in terms of franchise, franchise quarterback, like maybe Arch Manning, some other guys too, even Darien Mensa.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I just I don't I don't love him.
- 5:26SPEAKER_02: I do think he's tough.
- 5:27SPEAKER_02: He had some moments, but like this is a guy like you're gonna have to ride and hope for for the entire season.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: That's what I get concerned about.
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: And they're you know, they failed their first major test, albeit in Oxford, but I'm I'm not as in on him.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: We'll see.
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: Maybe he can shape up a little, but I'm I'm with you on that.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't have him.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: If I were doing a mock draft, I would have him nowhere near the first round.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: I know quarterbacks are a position that you need in order to win, but from everything I've seen, he he does not impress me too much, but that's why I'm not an expert.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: I think the other biggest story, Jair, uh, in college football weekend was the Kentucky Wildcats bouncing back from that lost year crimson tide, in which they completely capitulated in that second half.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: They go down to college station and they dominated Texas AM.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: Now, I think we both would agree, Texas AM maybe shouldn't have been preseason top 10, which we'll get into the preseason rankings in just a bit.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: But a really good result for Kentucky, one that inspires a ton of faith in the first year coach Will Stein.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: I think people were pretty excited in Lexington about him the way it was.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: And to get a feather in his cap of this magnitude this early in his tenure, I think that's going to bode really well for Kentucky in the future.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: But also this season, they have a tough schedule, but I think they might be able to sneak off a couple more of these type of wins, maybe not of this magnitude of top 10 on the road.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: But I think they'll pluck off a couple more ranked teams before the season's done.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: And when you're able to rebuild as quickly as you are in today's college football landscape, I think that's a really, really encouraging thing for Wildcat fans.
- 7:05SPEAKER_02: Very good winning college station, like you said.
- 7:08SPEAKER_02: And I'll say too, Kentucky in the first half against Alabama played well.
- 7:11SPEAKER_02: It's they might be a team this year where they'll give you three quarters and then the fourth quarter they kind of collapse.
- 7:17SPEAKER_02: But to your point, with a harder schedule, I don't think people have that like really great opinions about Kentucky this year in terms of making the playoffs or even like having a very successful season in terms of uh getting a lot of wins.
- 7:32SPEAKER_02: If I'm Kentucky, just play hard and you know, get a few upsets along the way, maybe finish around seven wins, maybe eight wins, get a bowl game, and then you go for next year.
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: This year it's all about like I think just squashing, you know, first year coach mentality and just like being there as a participation game for a lot of SEC teams in October, November.
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: They're sort of playing with house money in a way.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: Don't mean that in a bad way.
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: Just the fact that like expectations aren't as high with a first-year head coach.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: See if you can make some noise, build off of it in the offseason transfers and uh in recruiting too.
- 8:10SPEAKER_02: And then next year, I mean, could could they have playoff implications next year?
- 8:15SPEAKER_02: Maybe if this year goes really well, considering what people think that they were gonna do heading into this year, which wasn't, I guess, that high.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: I mean, Jake Myers, our college football expert, he sat here on this very program and he told me Kentucky would stink, was his quote.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: So I almost threw it back in his face too early during the first half of the Alabama game.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: I got a little excited.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: I held off and thank God I did.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: But I he he has one coming to him, especially if they can string together a couple more wins.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: I will say, everybody go follow the get back coach, of course, to do great work over there.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: And that they are much more college football experts than us two.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: But, Jar, the one thing we have to talk about is the preseason poll and the implications it still has on rankings as we enter week four.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: The prime example of this, why are Oregon, Texas AM, SMU ranked ahead of a team like Mississippi State, who has gone to Minnesota and one, who has gone to uh South Carolina and one.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: So they've gone to two relatively difficult places to play and won already this season, and they're still ranked behind teams that have suffered losses, but were ranked ahead of them or ranked to start the season.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: I hate this bias.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: I bitch about it every year, Jar, and I'm gonna do it again this year.
- 9:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we've had this conversation, Sean, same time last year, essentially.
- 9:35SPEAKER_02: It's a popularity contest, it's annoying.
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: I think in let me tell you about Texas AM, and I don't want to jump the gun a few minutes ago.
- 9:42SPEAKER_02: Anytime you see them in their preseason ranking, subtract 15.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: If they're nine, they should be 24.
- 9:49SPEAKER_02: If they're playing most for Jerry, well, okay, but like this is always the case with like AM.
- 9:57SPEAKER_02: And this year their schedule is a lot harder than last year, too.
- 10:00SPEAKER_02: I think that part of the reason why they were so successful last year is because of scheduling.
- 10:04SPEAKER_02: SEC isn't, you know, they're not, it's not just a Big Ten that gets away with that stuff.
- 10:10SPEAKER_02: But yeah, AM, it's Mike Elko, he'll always disappoint.
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: I don't it's a popularity contest with these rankings.
- 10:17SPEAKER_02: I don't get it.
- 10:18SPEAKER_02: I don't understand why they're such a big well, I get why they're such a big deal, but like they really take them seriously in August when no one's played a game, and they stick with that for at least a month when they shouldn't.
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: Abandoned ship.
- 10:31SPEAKER_02: I do get Oregon in some ways.
- 10:33SPEAKER_02: I have respect for Dan Lanning and the program that they've built and kind of reputation there.
- 10:38SPEAKER_02: But otherwise, I just don't I don't get it with other teams.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I get that they do it for the entertainment value.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: They try to sell matchups that are going to be televised and matchups sell better if there's a little number next to a team's name telling the general public how good they are.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: What I don't like is when you are early in the season, you need to be adaptable, you need to be light on your feet, you need to be willing to make changes based on what you actually see on the field.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: And it feels like they're just not doing that, and that's where I have a problem.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: So I know preseason rankings are always going to exist, but they need to be way more flexible in adjusting to what we actually see, as opposed to just, oh, well, this team was ranked in the top 10 to start the season.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: We know they're gonna be good.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: Well, they haven't proven yet that they're good.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: They you still have the right to make them a top 10 team when they go out and prove it.
- 11:28SPEAKER_02: There needs to be more of a table of uh of like of rules or like a basis to go off of on what is a top 25 team and something more official than just high test and potential.
- 11:41SPEAKER_02: That's that's just unofficial.
- 11:42SPEAKER_02: That's it's it's nice in theory, but it's not really accurate.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: So yeah, figure out a figure out a scoring system that they can do, um, like a power ranking for the NFL.
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: Those aren't like official, but usually power rankings in the NFL are pretty much close to spot on in some ways, more or less.
- 12:00SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because they're they're based on some sort of data that was accumulated through playing games.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: And I, if it were up to me, listen, we wouldn't get a ranking of any sort until the college football playoff ranking was released in week eight or whatever that is.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: That would be the first time we see any numbers next to any teams.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: But of course that will never be the case.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: Jar, those were the games that were of most significance this past weekend.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: We've got a pretty good weekend, I would say, coming up.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: I'm interested to hear what we have in your conference, the SEC, because I think that conference in particular has a loaded slate.
- 12:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, SEC is pretty loaded for week four, Sean.
- 12:36SPEAKER_02: There's all there's other games outside the conference that are intriguing as well, but my goodness, there are a lot of games in the SEC this Saturday or this coming week.
- 12:44SPEAKER_02: One, I'll start off with LSU, Texas AM.
- 12:47SPEAKER_02: Interesting just because one of these teams is going to have a second loss for week four.
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: And I think that that's intriguing.
- 12:54SPEAKER_02: I don't think it'll be LSU.
- 12:56SPEAKER_02: If it's AM, they just become that more uh unappealing.
- 13:00SPEAKER_02: I'm intrigued by that, the fact that we have two teams that you wouldn't think would be flirting with a second loss in that matchup.
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: Missouri, Mississippi State, Missouri's, they've they've been you guys been solid.
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know, yeah.
- 13:15SPEAKER_02: I don't know what to say.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, good coach.
- 13:19SPEAKER_02: Mississippi State, they have a quarterback now.
- 13:22SPEAKER_02: Two top 24 teams, I should say.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: I guess I should probably say two top 25 because Mississippi State's just off by one, but it sounded a little better.
- 13:29SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 13:30SPEAKER_02: Uh that'll be fun.
- 13:31SPEAKER_02: Oklahoma, Georgia.
- 13:32SPEAKER_02: I think Oklahoma stinks, Sean.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna lie.
- 13:35SPEAKER_02: I think John Matir isn't really that good.
- 13:37SPEAKER_02: I think he's good for what for what he is.
- 13:39SPEAKER_02: Like he he has he's just not good enough or consistent enough ultimately.
- 13:43SPEAKER_02: That year will be fun because again, you're looking at possibly a two-loss Oklahoma team.
- 13:49SPEAKER_02: They've also looked, they look terrible against New Mexico.
- 13:51SPEAKER_02: Who was it, New Mexico State or New Mexico?
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they they are just bad on offense, and I think a lot of that comes down to John Mateir.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: I still think their defense is very good and it'll keep him in a lot of games.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: But when your offense actively hurts you, that's a problem.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: And that's what their offense seems to do with Matthew.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: He misses simple throws and then he also gives the ball away.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: He's one of those guys that he's a really good college quarterback.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: He's a hunk.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: Sure he does well on campus in the ladies' department.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: I'm sure he's great there.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: I don't want him anywhere near my NFL locker room.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: He just does not think, I don't think he can sit back in the pocket and throw the ball.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: And if he does it well one time, the next one's going 10 yards in a different direction.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: So just another one of these quarterbacks.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: And we talked about the year of the quarterback to start this college football season in the preview.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: A lot of these guys haven't really stood out in a good way.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: So I think guys like Trinidad Chambliss and Camario Taylor, who you mentioned, who are very much in the ascendancy, they should be where we spend most of our energy and not these bozos like Sam Levitt and John Matir.
- 14:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no doubt.
- 14:52SPEAKER_02: There's a lot of talent.
- 14:54SPEAKER_02: There are a lot of names just in general.
- 14:56SPEAKER_02: So that's yeah, those are all my games, I guess.
- 14:59SPEAKER_02: And pretty, and of course, you know, you have Ole Miss in Florida.
- 15:03SPEAKER_02: Well, we should mention that.
- 15:05SPEAKER_02: So good week.
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: Week four usually has a few good games in the SEC, I think historically.
- 15:11SPEAKER_02: This feels like it's on steroids, so that's kind of exciting.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: John Sumrol, my guy, I I am a big fan of his, and therefore Florida this year.
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: He said people must be taking drugs to have old uh to have Florida favorite in that game against Ole Miss.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: And his credit, I know where he's coming from.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: It's not people that do it, first of all, John, it's numbers, it's analytics.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: But I think he what he's saying is they they dismantled them last season.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: And if you just look at that result and the fact they still have Trinidad, he's looking at it like, would you guys expect me to work on Miracle here to get this team to be four-point favorites now?
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: It's a total juxtaposition.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: But the fact of the matter is, Florida's for real.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: I think this game is gonna tell us a lot, but the swamp is no easy test.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: I'm excited for that one, I think the most out of those games you referenced, Jared.
- 15:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think I'm excited for that game too.
- 16:01SPEAKER_02: I don't know what to make.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: I think Florida is they're ahead of schedule, and I think they could be very good.
- 16:06SPEAKER_02: Ole Miss has been good for a year plus now.
- 16:10SPEAKER_02: They made the playoffs, of course, probably had you know some championship aspirations if some things went a few ways in the playoffs.
- 16:18SPEAKER_02: But I okay, it's in Gainesville, okay.
- 16:21SPEAKER_02: That helps, but I would think that after Ole Miss's win against LSU and just their continuation of from last year to this year with their quarterback who has been a pro.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: I'm surprised that and the I'm surprised the line is what it is.
- 16:35SPEAKER_02: I think I thought it opened at like 0.5 or a half point maybe for Florida and then jumped to three and a half.
- 16:42SPEAKER_02: I could be wrong that maybe it was always but very weird.
- 16:45SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 16:46SPEAKER_02: Maybe they know something.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: Listen, they usually do.
- 16:48SPEAKER_02: So I just I find it odd considering the run that old miss has been on.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: I for sure find it odd as well.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: I've been taking Florida's side in each game this year, Jared, and it's worked well so far.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: I loved them last week against Auburn, that was great, but I cannot do it against Trinidad.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: I I don't know why exactly they're getting three and a half on the road with a guy as good as him, who now is, I think, the favorite for the Heisman, if not right up there with Mensa.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: So I'm with you.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: I think this game will be exciting.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: I think that is probably the game of the day that I'm most looking forward to.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: I'll just mention a quick couple of others elsewhere.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: The Big Ten has a couple of good ones.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't say they're great, but they're decent.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: Iowa plays Michigan in a game that is sure to set back offensive football for years to come.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: Iowa, I hear every year how their offense is new and improved.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: It's not.
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: I won't believe it.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: I'll never believe it.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: It is not new and improved.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: And then Oregon plays at USC.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: I think this one's interesting.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: This is probably the second game I'm most looking forward to.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: I think this is a must win for Oregon to avoid their second loss early in the season.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: They traveled to USC, who's 4-0.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: They've already played four games because they started in week zero.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: Jordan Maiava's a good quarterback.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: It's going to be a tough test.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: Oregon had a get-right game against Portland State where they hung 84.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: I don't think that counts for anything.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: You're going to have to show it to me against a real team.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: I do think USC is a real team.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: So that's a that's a fun one.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: That's, of course, late night.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: So that's a nice little 7.30 kick to go along with Camario at uh hosting Missouri.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: So two good games at 7:30, a pretty good day of college football.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: Uh Jared, the problem is we still have football on Sundays.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: And if you guys know me, you know the team I'm a fan of is Dog Meat, would be how I describe them.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: The Pittsburgh Steelers tried their hardest to ruin my weekend, but there's a lot bigger stories in the NFL than Pittsburgh.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: So we'll start with our panic station segment, Jar.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: We're gonna go team by go team by team of teams that are 0-2 or 1-1, and we're gonna issue a code warning.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: It could be a code green, where we're not worried at all.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: It could be a code yellow, a little concerned, a code orange, hey, we're pretty concerned.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: Sound the bells, or a code red, get out of town.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: This is bad news.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: Evacuate, evacuate, evacuate.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: Let's start, let's just get it out of the way, Jared.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: Where are you at with the Pittsburgh Steelers?
- 19:14SPEAKER_02: I should be at a code red.
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: I I'll put down orange slash red.
- 19:19SPEAKER_02: I'll I'll mix it up a little in only the way I know how.
- 19:22SPEAKER_02: The reason I'm mixing it up is because I didn't think the expectations of the Steelers going to this year, I just didn't have many because of their coach, because of the quarterback situation.
- 19:33SPEAKER_02: I like that they haven't, even though they took Drew Allen in the third round, I like that they didn't necessarily reach and trade up to get a quarterback, especially, you know, in a in a class where I don't know if it how good it is.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: So I didn't expect much.
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: That's why I'll go orange.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: Like that they're not a very good team, but I think if they just set themselves up for next year and find a quarterback and something more long-term, it can be a positive.
- 20:02SPEAKER_02: So it's an orange-red for me, if that makes sense.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna go almost a completely different direction.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna say it's a code green, Jar.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: And here's why you might think, oh wow, Sean, the Steelers looked bad.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: They should be worse than a code green.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: Oh no, it's this thing called comfortably numb.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: And that's where I'm at, Jar.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: We we sold a really good ball coach up the river that won a shit ton of games, always had a winning record.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: And I know he struggled to get over that hump, and maybe it was time for a change.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: The answer to that question was never bringing in Mike McCarthy and his old pal Aaron Rodgers back from Washington.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: That had that left me with no hope for the season.
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: I thought, you know what?
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they'll probably be a good, solid team.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: Probably win eight, nine games.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: I don't even think they'll be that now.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: Their offensive line is abysmal.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: And there's just no upside, there's no excitement, there's no energy.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: I've gotten to the point where I think it's best if the Steelers trade TJ Watt.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: I never want to see that day.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: TJ Watt is a legend in that city.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: I don't want that day to come.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: It's all sad, it's all bad in Pittsburgh.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: But I think that's just a code green because what do you expect?
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: Are people panicking?
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: No, it's Mike McCarthy.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: He looks like a doofus, he is a doofus.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: If you look like a doofus, talk like a doofus, you might be a doofus.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: And guess what, Jar?
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: We've got a doofus on our hands.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: I don't want to look at him.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: It's week three.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: I don't want to look at him coaching the team on the sidelines.
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: So for me, I'm looking at this as my Sundays have opened up.
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: I usually have firm plans to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers whenever they're on.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: I am week three announcing publicly, my Sundays are wide open.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: If you guys want to record a podcast during the NFL slate, hit your boy up because I currently don't have any plans.
- 21:44SPEAKER_02: We have the same thought process, and I guess our our colors are a little different in how we evaluate it.
- 21:50SPEAKER_02: But like that's why I said orange because like I didn't expect much from them going into it.
- 21:54SPEAKER_02: So I'm not I'm just not surprised.
- 21:56SPEAKER_02: Like it's it is what it is with this team right now.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: It's unfortunate if you're a fan like yourself, like I get it, but like if you're looking at it long term, it's like you might just have to get over this season to hopefully find greener passers next year and going forward.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: So that's why like I'm just not that phased by it.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: Yep, we're we're in the same buzz.
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: I just thought I'd spin it a little bit to go green just to show how little I actually care.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: I like it.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: The next the next team up, Jared, is the Houston Texans, who start off 0-2 and they just have a they just love doing this.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: They start off 0-2, they start off 0-3, they kind of love putting themselves behind the eight ball.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: I don't know why.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: I guess this can be explained because they played two really good teams in the first two weeks.
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: What are your thoughts on the Houston Texans?
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: What code warning are you issuing them?
- 22:42SPEAKER_02: I will go code, I'll go code Orange, honestly.
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: They're 0-2, even though they're in the AFC, you still don't want to start off 0-2.
- 22:50SPEAKER_02: The defense doesn't look as good as it did last year, which is of course tall heights, but it doesn't look that good.
- 22:56SPEAKER_02: Stroud, I don't I I like I like enough where he can be a starting quarterback, but I don't know how good he ultimately can be.
- 23:05SPEAKER_02: It's they're in the right division, I guess, but you know, Jacksonville still, I think, is is a nice team and better than them right now.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: They can figure it out.
- 23:14SPEAKER_02: There's time, maybe it goes to a yellow, but like I'm pretty discouraged by them.
- 23:19SPEAKER_02: Um, they played the Bills tough week one, and then I feel I felt like against Cincinnati, just blah.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: I think if I'm concerned about their offense, I think their defense will figure it out.
- 23:28SPEAKER_02: But so I'll go yellow.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but not a good place to be.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: Are you yellow or orange?
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: Because you started on orange and ended up on yellow.
- 23:37SPEAKER_02: I'll go, I'll go yellow, leaning towards orange, but I'll go yellow.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: Enough with these half colors.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: I'm going, I'm going yellow as well.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: I do think it is between the two.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: I'm definitely closer to an orange than I am a green.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: You can't start off on a two all the time and expect to get away with it.
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: The only good thing I'll say is I don't believe there's a killer in that division.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: I think the Jags are a good team.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: I don't know that they're gonna kill the Texans off and all their hopes off early in the season.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: So I think they'll let them hang around a bit.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: Just think they need to block for CJ Stroud a little bit better.
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: CJ Stroud needs to play a little bit better, of course, as well.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: They can't lose a guy like Nico Collins.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: They're already thin at receiver.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: They can't lose a guy like him and expect to win against a good team like the Bengals.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: So they got to get him right.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: They got to get ready for a big week three game, which leads us to the Indianapolis Colts, who are also in their division.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: The Colts lose an overtime game against the Chiefs, a tough one to lose, Jar.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: Where are you at with the Colts?
- 24:36SPEAKER_02: I'll go orange.
- 24:38SPEAKER_02: You could make the case for, you know, red, but I'll go orange with them.
- 24:42SPEAKER_02: I don't think they're that good again, that division though.
- 24:45SPEAKER_02: So with the AFC South is intriguing enough even for the start that they've had.
- 24:51SPEAKER_02: Um they I don't know.
- 24:54SPEAKER_02: They're they're kind of blah.
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: I don't think they're special, but they could win their division, and maybe even maybe if it comes down to a wild card spot, I don't know.
- 25:03SPEAKER_02: Actually, I think they really need to focus on the division.
- 25:05SPEAKER_02: We'll see.
- 25:06SPEAKER_02: We'll see with them.
- 25:07SPEAKER_02: It's an orange, but it it could go south.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: It could go quite literally AFC South.
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's that's where it could go.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: They they they're an orange for me as well.
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: And it's probably just because their expectations for either of us, I don't think, were super high.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: Thought they'd be a fine team.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: They started off right last year before the Daniel Jones injury, so people who were bullish on them could point to that and say, oh, we're actually going to be a good team.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: I think our expectations for them were a bit more grounded.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: And I would say I just don't think they're gonna be able to stop teams based on these two weeks.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: I don't think they have difference makers on the defensive side of the ball.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: And when Daniel Jones maybe is still recovering and doesn't look like the player he did to start last season, and he looks more like the player he's looked like much through much of his career with the Giants, I don't know that he's gonna be able to lift you up by the bootstraps and get the job done at a high level.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: So I'm orange for them.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: It could be red, but I don't think either of us thought they were Super Bowl contenders.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: So we'll move on.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: We'll go to the NFC Jair.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna start with an impromptu one because we're receiving news that Jackson Dart's probably out for the year.
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: Where are you at the New York Giants?
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: They had so much optimism after week one.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: I'll go ahead and say if the code red, shut it down, evacuate the city.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: I I love Jameis Winston for entertainment value.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: Boy, oh boy, did he look rough against the Rams.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: I think I think it could be really bad for Jameis these next few weeks.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: And if he's the answer for that the whole season, I think the Giants fans are gonna have to just talk themselves into another next year mentality.
- 26:40SPEAKER_02: Giants are the darkest red in the history of colors, Sean.
- 26:44SPEAKER_02: This team is they're not very good.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: So without what it was.
- 26:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so exactly.
- 26:51SPEAKER_02: They're yeah, Jameis Winston was 11 for 27 uh last night.
- 26:56SPEAKER_02: Atrocious.
- 26:57SPEAKER_02: I think Scatabu was 13 for 36, something around that nature.
- 27:02SPEAKER_02: Um, they're not very good.
- 27:04SPEAKER_02: Their defense isn't very good.
- 27:05SPEAKER_02: They've invested a lot of high draft picks in their defense, they were shredded from most of the third quarter into the fourth uh defensively.
- 27:14SPEAKER_02: They're they're they're code red for me too.
- 27:17SPEAKER_02: And I didn't even know think they were going to be that good with a healthy Jackson Dart overall, more or less without him.
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: Yikes.
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was impressed by him in week one, to be honest.
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: I I didn't have high expectations coming into the season.
- 27:29SPEAKER_00: I was kind of out on the Giants in that whole Dart Scataboo experience.
- 27:33SPEAKER_00: But week one, they impressed me.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: He he wasn't running around like a madman.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: He stood there, made some good throws.
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: They beat a Dallas team, who I think is at least solid.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: I don't think Dallas are bad.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: So that that was impressive, but they immediately just lose all hope with that injury.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: It looked like Malik Neighbors was gonna be out a while too, and then he came back in like the next series.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: He really hammed up that shoulder injury by far the biggest acting job in terms of injuries this weekend.
- 27:57SPEAKER_00: I don't even think there was a close second.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: I also, Jair, I do think we need to have a real serious conversation about our guy in Tampa, a Temple Owl.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: We hate to do this to Mr.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: Todd Bowles, but the Tampa Bay Bucks lose to the Cleveland Browns.
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: The Bucks are 0-2.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: What is your code level for them, Jarr?
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: Mine is a firm red, red, red.
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: It would be even it would be the most worried I would be about a team if they weren't in that dog shit division.
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: So that gives me some hope that they could win the NFC South, but I'm a believer in the Saints and to a lesser extent the Panthers as well.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: Carolina.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: So I I think yeah, I think the Bucks kind of just stink.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: I'm going code red.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: What about you?
- 28:39SPEAKER_02: The only reason why I went orange for the Bucs is because of experience and dominance from the Saints and the Panthers.
- 28:49SPEAKER_02: Tyler Shuck, he's been good, but still young.
- 28:52SPEAKER_02: I don't know how good the Saints are overall, even though they I think they are a frisky team.
- 28:56SPEAKER_02: Panthers, same thing.
- 28:58SPEAKER_02: They can flirt around, but I don't know how good they are.
- 29:00SPEAKER_02: That's the only reason why I didn't go red for the Buccaneers, but it's certainly leaning that way.
- 29:06SPEAKER_02: And Bowles doesn't look good.
- 29:08SPEAKER_02: Baker is moments, but again, it doesn't seem it's been bad last year and this year's.
- 29:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I really don't like doing it to a temple guy, but I have to issue two warnings to Todd Bowles for the bad coaches club.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: I I have to do it.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: I hate doing it, but it's a two for Todd.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: One for losing to the Browns.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: That's a that we have rules as a society.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: You can't lose to the Cleveland Browns, especially at home.
- 29:35SPEAKER_00: That's an automatic strike.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: And then two is if you lose to Deshaun Watson.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: And unfortunately, that's a two for Todd.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: It's an 0-2 count.
- 29:43SPEAKER_00: And you gotta choke up.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: You gotta choke up on that bat because you're gonna be out of town soon, if not.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: I don't want to do this.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: Like I said, he's a temple made temple proud guy.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: Boy, is it bleak in Tampa.
- 29:55SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna mention names of the head coach in Tampa out of respect, even though I mentioned him two minutes ago, but I'm not gonna repeat it.
- 30:01SPEAKER_02: But yes, he is uh I'm surprised they didn't make his change in the offseason on that uh position.
- 30:07SPEAKER_02: No names, of course, but yeah, I'm with you on that uh that coach that shall not be named again.
- 30:14SPEAKER_00: While we're updating the bad coaches club, Jair, I do have to issue another second strike.
- 30:19SPEAKER_00: This guy might have been even inducted last year when we were doing a one strike and in policy.
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna issue a formal second strike to Aaron Glenn for whatever the fuck he was doing with that clock in the Green Bay game.
- 30:31SPEAKER_00: I'm sitting there watching.
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: I have the Jets.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: I'm sitting there like, okay, the Jets are gonna get the ball back with some time here.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: Maybe let's not try anything crazy with Gino, but we we're not gonna lose the game.
- 30:42SPEAKER_00: Next thing I know, the Packers are attempting a Hail Mary.
- 30:46SPEAKER_00: What are we doing?
- 30:47SPEAKER_00: This guy he has this towel around his head at all times, too, and it doesn't help.
- 30:52SPEAKER_00: I I'm I don't want to put Aaron Glenn firmly in the bad coaches camp because I'm a Jets stakeholder in this NFL wins pool, but I was not encouraged by that collapse on Sunday.
- 31:03SPEAKER_02: It sucks too because they go 1-0 to start the season, albeit against Tennessee.
- 31:09SPEAKER_02: But, you know, you start off the season 1-0 in the Jets, and then you're playing you're playing Green Bay extremely well at home, should have won the game, and then that happens.
- 31:18SPEAKER_02: Uh, it's disappointing.
- 31:19SPEAKER_02: It is what it is with Aaron Glenn.
- 31:21SPEAKER_02: So I I echo what she said.
- 31:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it doesn't matter that that mistake with the clock didn't end up costing the Jets.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: We're a process-based podcast, we're not results-based.
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: So the process was bad, therefore you gotta strike.
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: Jared, do you have any strikes to issue this week for the Bad Coaches Club?
- 31:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, this is someone who has royally annoyed me when he was in college at Michigan.
- 31:45SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna go Jim Harbaugh.
- 31:47SPEAKER_02: They are 0-2, the Chargers.
- 31:49SPEAKER_02: They lost two games against two teams that stink.
- 31:53SPEAKER_02: Arizona, awful.
- 31:54SPEAKER_02: They were they're already planning to draft Arch Manning in July.
- 31:57SPEAKER_02: Um, Raiders 2-0 now, I guess.
- 32:00SPEAKER_02: So they're, you know, maybe they can they have something going, although they don't have Brock, who's been hurt, so that doesn't help if you lose against them.
- 32:08SPEAKER_02: They also have Kirk Cousins, Sean.
- 32:10SPEAKER_02: So losing to that guy, I like Kirk eight years ago.
- 32:17SPEAKER_02: But um, yeah, it's that's it's Jim Harbaugh.
- 32:21SPEAKER_02: They're 0-2, and they have the same team essentially as last year.
- 32:26SPEAKER_02: A new offensive coordinator who everybody was gloating about and saying, Oh, this guy's amazing.
- 32:32SPEAKER_02: And uh Mike McDaniel, he gets an honor.
- 32:35SPEAKER_02: I I put him down as an honorary for the bad coach.
- 32:38SPEAKER_02: Obviously, he's not a head coach, so I didn't know the official stance or who is on that.
- 32:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's already, I think that's where he got the most wing in the in the pet coach's club.
- 32:46SPEAKER_00: It's the Mike McDonald West wing.
- 32:48SPEAKER_00: He is an all-timer jer.
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: I'm glad you brought him up though, because somehow Herbert, after all these expectations of how he was gonna help fix the Chargers offense, Herbert looks as bad as he's ever looked.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: And maybe that's some of it's down to Madison Beer and the attention off the field.
- 33:04SPEAKER_00: I like to put more of the blame on DJ Mikey D.
- 33:07SPEAKER_00: And this guy, oh my god, he he's fit for LA, I'll tell you that.
- 33:12SPEAKER_00: He looks like a Los Angeles native, but God can he not coach.
- 33:17SPEAKER_00: And I'm sick of the hype.
- 33:18SPEAKER_00: I know he had a cup of coffee of a good run with the Dolphins, but enough's enough with this guy.
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: He should he would make a killing as a barista on Rodeo.
- 33:29SPEAKER_02: It is fitting that his two stuff places that he's really, I mean, he's been to other places too, but the big time places as a coach has been Miami and Los Angeles.
- 33:39SPEAKER_02: I wonder if that's coincidental.
- 33:41SPEAKER_02: But yeah, you said, like you said, Sean, he has his own wing as a head coach.
- 33:45SPEAKER_02: Maybe as an offensive coordinator, he gets a right now, he gets a hallway that leads up to that wing.
- 33:50SPEAKER_02: So not good.
- 33:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it it's bad.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: It's really bad in in Los Angeles.
- 33:56SPEAKER_00: I always want to say San Diego still.
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: That's how irrelevant their fan base and presence in the wing has been since their departure.
- 34:03SPEAKER_00: Also, a quick shout-out, Jerf for the good coaches club.
- 34:05SPEAKER_00: This guy's already in there, Super Bowl winner.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: But when you see good coaching, you need to shout it out.
- 34:11SPEAKER_00: Mike McDonald, more with less.
- 34:13SPEAKER_00: He'll take his and beat yours, he'll take yours and beat his.
- 34:17SPEAKER_00: He is just a dog.
- 34:18SPEAKER_00: We just mentioned how bad the Chargers looked against those Cardinals.
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: And McDonald, with his backup quarterback Drew Locke, he goes in and just dusts those Cardinals.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: The game's over before it begins.
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: It's what a proper team should do in handling the trash.
- 34:34SPEAKER_00: I will give a quick little aside, Jared.
- 34:36SPEAKER_00: I'll let you do a Philadelphia minute.
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: I assume the Eagles handle the trash a little better than they did.
- 34:41SPEAKER_00: They didn't know it was trash day.
- 34:43SPEAKER_00: And they let a real bad coach, Robert Sala, almost run amok against them.
- 34:48SPEAKER_02: Well, listen, Sean, the field is 160 degrees.
- 34:51SPEAKER_02: You sort of give passes around all day.
- 34:54SPEAKER_02: And yeah, it's yeah, it's not good.
- 34:56SPEAKER_02: It is impressive too.
- 34:57SPEAKER_02: I'll give uh I'll give uh McDonald credit too.
- 35:00SPEAKER_02: That's a divisional game as well, which I think counts a little more in these matchups.
- 35:04SPEAKER_02: So, yes, impressive without uh no need to fire shots at uh at other teams, but McDonald, good good for him.
- 35:12SPEAKER_00: Can we get a quick code, Jeremy, on the Eagles?
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: Just a quick code if we had to issue one.
- 35:16SPEAKER_00: Two bad interceptions from your guy, Jalen Hurts, two real bad ones.
- 35:21SPEAKER_02: Eagles are a code green.
- 35:23SPEAKER_02: They're the best team I think I've ever seen this season.
- 35:27SPEAKER_02: They're two and I I'm not too the offensive line's a bit concerning, but this team is uh they're still stacking wins, stacking wins in September, which I love, and uh hopefully they figure it out.
- 35:38SPEAKER_02: The offense is a lot more uh is a lot more creative than last year, so it'll take some time, but I think that they'll write the course.
- 35:44SPEAKER_02: What what will that be winning the NFC ultimately?
- 35:47SPEAKER_02: I don't know, but hopefully they're in position uh in just in January to at least attempt to do that.
- 35:54SPEAKER_00: Okay, good.
- 35:54SPEAKER_00: I was hoping you'd be a code green.
- 35:56SPEAKER_00: I know you Eagles fans sometimes you see wins and you you issue code reds, you see losses, and you say, Don't talk about our team like that.
- 36:03SPEAKER_00: So I it's hard to keep up, but I would be a code green with the Eagles as well.
- 36:07SPEAKER_00: My guy Smitty looks awesome without that bird and AJ Brown around.
- 36:11SPEAKER_00: So I'm happy for him.
- 36:13SPEAKER_00: I'm happy for your birds to start off 2-0.
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: Jar, we do have to talk about the biggest story from the NFL this weekend.
- 36:20SPEAKER_00: Listeners will know that I am nothing, if not Caleb Williams' biggest fan.
- 36:26SPEAKER_00: Since he came into the league, he painted his nails, and at first I was gonna zig with all the rest of the general public and say, what are we doing here?
- 36:32SPEAKER_00: But instead I took the high road.
- 36:34SPEAKER_00: I zagged and said, I love this guy.
- 36:35SPEAKER_00: He's a bundle of talent, he's emotional.
- 36:38SPEAKER_00: He was chirped for crying at USC with his mom after a loss.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: He's now catching all sorts of heat for getting carded off the field for a hamstring injury.
- 36:53SPEAKER_00: I'll toss it to you.
- 36:54SPEAKER_00: I just want to advise you.
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: You know who you're speaking to.
- 36:57SPEAKER_00: You're talking to the number one Caleb Williams fan of America.
- 36:59SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 37:00SPEAKER_00: I own him in every every fantasy league I'm in, basically.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: I I love this man so much.
- 37:04SPEAKER_00: So please tread lightly.
- 37:06SPEAKER_02: I'll tread lightly.
- 37:07SPEAKER_02: And I'll I'll just I'll start off with this.
- 37:09SPEAKER_02: I tore my ACL, I tore my MCL, I fractured my fibula all in once.
- 37:16SPEAKER_02: I didn't react that poorly as Caleb Williams.
- 37:19SPEAKER_02: And those were st those are three serious injuries.
- 37:22SPEAKER_02: And you too, Sean.
- 37:23SPEAKER_02: I remember when you completely tore your hamstring in our softball league in college.
- 37:29SPEAKER_02: You played it off like a champ compared to Caleb Williams.
- 37:32SPEAKER_02: Honestly, all jokes aside.
- 37:35SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 37:36SPEAKER_02: I I'm kind of with you in some ways.
- 37:39SPEAKER_02: Like, I guess it looks weird, but like, what is he supposed to do?
- 37:42SPEAKER_02: I mean, he cares.
- 37:44SPEAKER_02: It seemed like he was significantly hurt.
- 37:46SPEAKER_02: It turns out they dodged a bullet, but I don't know.
- 37:49SPEAKER_02: I it's it's weird that we're like picking on him for it.
- 37:53SPEAKER_02: Like, it's I don't know.
- 37:54SPEAKER_02: I I I don't know what the end goal for people, people like who are negative about it.
- 37:59SPEAKER_02: I get like, okay, he was I guess he was I guess he was wrong in what he thought it could have been, but you're still probably in a lot of pain.
- 38:07SPEAKER_02: And pain's subjective too.
- 38:08SPEAKER_02: Well, so I I don't know.
- 38:10SPEAKER_02: It's silly.
- 38:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's that's a great point.
- 38:12SPEAKER_00: That's a great pain point.
- 38:13SPEAKER_00: Pain is subjective.
- 38:14SPEAKER_00: Jared, I think you hit the nail on the head.
- 38:16SPEAKER_00: I also want to point out people that are without brains seem to be the ones who are really making the jokes and meaning them, saying things, calling him names, things like that.
- 38:25SPEAKER_00: Now, there are people who are poking fun, and I think that's fine.
- 38:29SPEAKER_00: Like some of these memes, gifts I'm seeing of him on the car crying with his fist in the air, like saying we'll be okay, and it says, I stepped on a Lego this morning, things like that.
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: I'll give you the golf.
- 38:40SPEAKER_00: That's good.
- 38:41SPEAKER_00: That's good hearted fun.
- 38:43SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna say anything about that.
- 38:46SPEAKER_00: But I do think the people that are actually calling him names and saying what they would do in in those situations, just shut up.
- 38:52SPEAKER_00: You don't know what it feels like.
- 38:53SPEAKER_00: This guy was grinding his balls off, trying to win a football game, was about to score a touchdown to take the lead, and hurt himself in a way he probably thought was more significant than it ended up being, but he also is probably just overwhelmed with emotion for knowing he won't be able to finish this game, knowing his team has to go to Tyson Bajent, who I think played with a concussion.
- 39:12unknown: Yeah.
- 39:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:14SPEAKER_00: So I think Caleb all of that dawned on him, and he just thought, oh god, I I love being out there so much with my guys.
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: I I'm gutted that I won't be able to finish this off.
- 39:23SPEAKER_00: Anybody who has any other slant get lost.
- 39:26SPEAKER_00: Caleb's a dog competitor, a winner.
- 39:28SPEAKER_00: Cherry, you mentioned my hamstring injury.
- 39:30SPEAKER_00: Still not fully right if we're being honest.
- 39:32SPEAKER_00: That's probably eight years ago at this point, maybe longer.
- 39:35SPEAKER_00: Crazy.
- 39:35SPEAKER_00: I still I will say that was a grade three.
- 39:38SPEAKER_00: That was grade three.
- 39:39SPEAKER_00: So I I I needed the cart, I'll tell you that.
- 39:42SPEAKER_00: Where was my cart?
- 39:44SPEAKER_00: I I couldn't get one.
- 39:45SPEAKER_02: You've you limped it off, too.
- 39:47SPEAKER_00: I did, I did.
- 39:48SPEAKER_00: And I and I I will say for the listeners' context, I I did beat out the single.
- 39:52SPEAKER_00: I did beat out the single with the game on the line.
- 39:54SPEAKER_00: I wasn't gonna be thrown out.
- 39:55SPEAKER_00: Caleb, you could have crossed that ball.
- 39:57SPEAKER_00: I had the bears to win, so like we could have we could have scored there.
- 40:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's last thing I'll say on this.
- 40:02SPEAKER_02: It's it's weird, like it feels like people like wanted him, him want him to be hurt because of his reaction.
- 40:08SPEAKER_02: Maybe, maybe that's like a stretch, but like it's very it's very weird behavior.
- 40:13SPEAKER_02: So listen, I'm I I don't want people to get hurt.
- 40:16SPEAKER_02: I'd rather play Case Keenum on Monday night football against the Bears uh next week than then Caleb.
- 40:22SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I'm not I'd rather play Caleb.
- 40:25SPEAKER_02: I don't want Caleb to get hurt.
- 40:26SPEAKER_02: And so it's it's weird how people are like turning the time, like very odd behavior.
- 40:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, from an Eagles standpoint, of course you'd rather play Case Keenum than a one-legged Caleb.
- 40:35SPEAKER_00: But I th I don't think Caleb will be back in either of these next two weeks.
- 40:39SPEAKER_00: So he will miss some time with the injury, unfortunate.
- 40:42SPEAKER_00: I hope he's back out there soon.
- 40:44SPEAKER_00: That is my one and only king.
- 40:46SPEAKER_00: So that'll do it for our NFL talking points, Jared, but we do have the return of Torture Fans of the Week.
- 40:55SPEAKER_00: Yes, and I think this might be another shot across my brow coming from you, so I'll let you kick things off.
- 41:01SPEAKER_02: Well on the surface, maybe, but this is this is meant for this is meant in all honesty.
- 41:09SPEAKER_02: I put down Allegheny County, Sean.
- 41:11SPEAKER_02: And as we know, Pittsburgh, uh the county it is in is Allegheny County.
- 41:16SPEAKER_02: You can even stretch this out to the entire western Pennsylvania, a lot of central Pennsylvania, too.
- 41:21SPEAKER_02: For some reason, in the Harrisburg area, it's closer to Philadelphia than Pittsburgh.
- 41:26SPEAKER_02: Those guys were for the Steelers.
- 41:28SPEAKER_02: There's more of a culture there.
- 41:29SPEAKER_02: So that's it.
- 41:30SPEAKER_02: So you can include that part too.
- 41:31SPEAKER_02: But yeah, listen, Allegheny County, that's a that's a tortured fan.
- 41:35SPEAKER_02: They uh they didn't look great against the Falcons week one against Cooper Rush.
- 41:39SPEAKER_02: Week two, of course, they they put up a three burger.
- 41:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 41:44SPEAKER_02: So um it just seems it seems like the last uh few years at least have been not not much purpose.
- 41:54SPEAKER_02: That's not a reflection on coaching, it's more on the players, the GMing.
- 41:59SPEAKER_02: It's just I just they're just you keep going with Aaron Rodgers, who in some ways it's like if you don't think you're gonna win, okay, fine, but like how many years are we gonna begin it with this Rodgers guy at age 43?
- 42:13SPEAKER_02: Uh that's a torture fan base, and uh, I think it'll get straightened up next year where they don't have any applications for Rodgers.
- 42:21SPEAKER_02: But yeah.
- 42:22SPEAKER_00: I think I want them to just lose 15 games this year.
- 42:26SPEAKER_00: I think that'd be phenomenal.
- 42:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 42:28SPEAKER_00: The only thing is I don't want to do it with Aaron Rodgers.
- 42:31SPEAKER_00: And as long as Mike McCarthy's there and Aaron Rodgers is healthy, Aaron Rodgers is going to play quarterback.
- 42:36SPEAKER_00: There's not a world, in my opinion, that Aaron Rodgers will be benched if he's healthy, which is because it's his farewell tour, it's his victory, while whatever the case may be.
- 42:45SPEAKER_00: I don't see that happening.
- 42:47SPEAKER_00: And that sucks because you have two guys that you drafted over the last couple of seasons in Will Howard and Drew Aller that the fans would like to know a little bit more about and give them a chance before you are ultimately in a situation where again this upcoming draft, it's a really good quarterback draft class by all accounts, you're gonna be in a position where you still don't have a franchise quarterback and you don't have any data points on the two guys that you've drafted that potentially could be.
- 43:09SPEAKER_00: Am I screaming from the rooftops that Will Howard's the franchise quarterback?
- 43:12SPEAKER_00: No.
- 43:13SPEAKER_00: Do I think Drew Aller has a little more optimism about him?
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: Yes, I do.
- 43:16SPEAKER_00: Do I still think he's a project?
- 43:17SPEAKER_00: Of course.
- 43:18SPEAKER_00: I would like to see those guys in the back half of this season.
- 43:21SPEAKER_00: And unless there's an injury to Rogers, which I will say seems likely with our offensive line play, I mean, he was getting absolutely railroaded in this match in this game.
- 43:29SPEAKER_00: He got hit hard.
- 43:30SPEAKER_00: I just don't know what the plan is.
- 43:32SPEAKER_00: Like you said, from a GM standpoint, from a coaching standpoint, it's all a disaster.
- 43:35SPEAKER_00: And they were just good enough to keep you engaged and a little bit hopeful the past decade without ever getting anywhere of significance.
- 43:43SPEAKER_00: And now I think we might have just lost the relevance altogether, and we might just be bad.
- 43:49SPEAKER_02: This has found time for the Steelers with Drew Aller, I think, because next year, assuming the season goes like we think it very well could go, you want to get someone in the first round, and Drew Aller isn't that new shiny.
- 44:00SPEAKER_02: Toy, at least right now, third round draft pick, that's enough intrigue for me to see right now.
- 44:06SPEAKER_02: And if there's something, run with it.
- 44:07SPEAKER_02: If not, okay, you checked it out, and then you can actually get a first round quarterback next year.
- 44:12SPEAKER_02: But if you don't do it and you just get a first-round quarterback next year without playing him, there's no appeal to someone like Drew Allen.
- 44:20SPEAKER_02: I mean, I guess he could be the backup, but that doesn't seem like that that worthy long term.
- 44:26SPEAKER_00: So no, and what's crazy is he's actually the fourth string quarterback.
- 44:29SPEAKER_00: Mason Rudolph is still the backup.
- 44:31SPEAKER_00: So he has no chance of playing under this regime with Aaron Rodgers still around.
- 44:36SPEAKER_00: So it's the whole thing's gross.
- 44:37SPEAKER_00: Take it away, please.
- 44:38SPEAKER_00: That's why they're a code green.
- 44:39SPEAKER_00: Comfortably known, Jar.
- 44:40SPEAKER_00: Remember, comfortably known.
- 44:41SPEAKER_00: Don't care.
- 44:44SPEAKER_00: I am going to take us back to something that happened on Saturday, Jarr.
- 44:47SPEAKER_00: And this is a fan base, North Carolina State, who I don't know many NC State fans.
- 44:52SPEAKER_00: I don't think I know any in all at all, in fact.
- 44:54SPEAKER_00: I would guess that they have a little bit of a little brother syndrome, just because their rivals of North Carolina and Duke are always the talking point on the hardwood.
- 45:05SPEAKER_00: In football, it's a bit different.
- 45:06SPEAKER_00: None of them are ever world beaters.
- 45:09SPEAKER_00: But NC State, they've had a good program throughout the years.
- 45:12SPEAKER_00: They've produced a lot of good pros, to be honest.
- 45:14SPEAKER_00: The way they lost this game to Vanderbilt, and Vanderbilt's bad this year, by the way, real bad.
- 45:19SPEAKER_00: The way they lost this game to Vanderbilt is one of the worst losses I've ever seen.
- 45:24SPEAKER_00: If you guys haven't seen it yet, NC State is up three, just trying to run out the clock with six seconds left near their own goal line.
- 45:31SPEAKER_00: And coach says, hey, just take a safety.
- 45:33SPEAKER_00: Take a safety, run the clock out, game will be over.
- 45:37SPEAKER_00: Sounds great.
- 45:38SPEAKER_00: Quarterback CJ Bailey drops back to take said safety, starts running around.
- 45:43SPEAKER_00: Four, three, two.
- 45:45SPEAKER_00: Oh shit, he's tackled.
- 45:46SPEAKER_00: Oh, the ball's out.
- 45:47SPEAKER_00: Vanderbilt recovers in the end zone, beats them, and NC State is left absolutely shell-shocked.
- 45:54SPEAKER_00: They could have done anything in that situation, and it would have been better than what ended up happening.
- 45:58SPEAKER_00: Just a terrible way to lose.
- 46:00SPEAKER_00: And anytime you lose like that, Jerry, you're gonna get a shout out from me as a torture fan base this week.
- 46:05SPEAKER_02: That's the most insane way a team has lost I've ever seen, I think.
- 46:09SPEAKER_02: You could have just ran the back of the end zone out of the end zone for the safety.
- 46:15SPEAKER_02: The craziest part is that obviously could have done that.
- 46:19SPEAKER_02: He embraced the hit.
- 46:21SPEAKER_02: So even if he holds on to it and it's a regular safety, he could get hit hard and maybe gets hurt in the play.
- 46:28SPEAKER_02: This he took a hit in this situation, of course, coughs it up.
- 46:32SPEAKER_02: I've never seen a game like this, Sean.
- 46:35SPEAKER_02: I it didn't feel real.
- 46:39SPEAKER_02: No, that was AI.
- 46:41SPEAKER_02: It felt a little a little a little uh a little rigged in some ways, but uh that was that was obscure.
- 46:49SPEAKER_02: I that that that'll go down in my opinion.
- 46:52SPEAKER_02: Maybe it won't, but I think it should go down.
- 46:54SPEAKER_02: It's the worst way to lose the football game ever.
- 46:57SPEAKER_00: It it's honestly it's it's probably the worst I've seen, to be quite honest.
- 47:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 47:02SPEAKER_00: I I don't know that I could point to a worse way through your own doing.
- 47:06SPEAKER_00: There's obviously been more heartbreaking games where you get beat on a Hail Mary or something crazy happens, but not a self-inflicted inflicted wound like that.
- 47:15SPEAKER_00: That was insane.
- 47:17SPEAKER_00: So sorry about it, NC State.
- 47:19SPEAKER_00: I hate bringing you up in that capacity, but it had to be done.
- 47:22SPEAKER_00: Jar, we have one last segment really before we wrap up tonight, and it's dropped the mics.
- 47:28SPEAKER_00: And I know you're you're such a good friend, you backed me in the competition.
- 47:31SPEAKER_00: But I have to give you an update.
- 47:33SPEAKER_00: We didn't have a great week.
- 47:34SPEAKER_00: We had a we had a great start in college, winning record in college, and then the NFL ate me alive.
- 47:40SPEAKER_00: And it was one of those situations where we're recording this early in the week, and by the end of the week, I absolutely hated my picks.
- 47:46SPEAKER_00: I was wishing I could get out of them.
- 47:48SPEAKER_00: I was like, oh no, look at this weather in Chicago.
- 47:50SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be, oh, it's pissing rain and 30-ball an hour wins.
- 47:54SPEAKER_00: I don't want to bet that game.
- 47:55SPEAKER_00: So we ended up losing a lot.
- 47:56SPEAKER_00: I went three and two in college, two and four in the NFL.
- 47:59SPEAKER_00: The mics went five and five in college, two and two in the NFL, perfectly 500 from them.
- 48:05SPEAKER_00: They are winning at a 54% clip with a 19-16 record, and I'm at 50%, 16-16.
- 48:11SPEAKER_00: So I'm treading water, but to be in week four of college and not below 500, we'll take it every time, Jarr.
- 48:18SPEAKER_00: Which has led me to a scary point because every year I have a week where I absolutely love the board in college, and I say I'm not a good college gambler, but I love the board this week, Jarr.
- 48:29SPEAKER_00: And typically this is me walking right into a bear trap, so I'm gonna do it anyway.
- 48:35SPEAKER_00: I will quickly read our picks.
- 48:37SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 48:37SPEAKER_00: I've got Maryland bouncing back as home dogs against UCLA plus three.
- 48:43SPEAKER_00: I've got Iowa against Michigan getting five and a half because I don't think either team is beating either team by a touchdown.
- 48:49SPEAKER_00: So I've gone for Iowa there.
- 48:51SPEAKER_00: The theme of the week is bounce back for me.
- 48:53SPEAKER_00: I'm going Auburn, minus nine and a half.
- 48:55SPEAKER_00: I think they bounce back strong.
- 48:57SPEAKER_00: I think Florida's really good, and Auburn didn't play too badly in that one.
- 49:00SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 49:00SPEAKER_00: I'll go Nebraska, minus five and a half.
- 49:03SPEAKER_00: Penn State, minus nine and a half.
- 49:05SPEAKER_00: A couple big 10 teams there.
- 49:06SPEAKER_00: Kansas State, minus six and a half.
- 49:09SPEAKER_00: Mississippi State, minus five and a half.
- 49:11SPEAKER_00: Camario.
- 49:11SPEAKER_00: I'm addicted to them.
- 49:12SPEAKER_00: Love them.
- 49:13SPEAKER_00: I think they beat Missouri by 10.
- 49:15SPEAKER_00: Fresno State, minus 13.5.
- 49:18SPEAKER_00: Yes, I'm I'm all in on Camario.
- 49:20SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 49:21SPEAKER_00: And Utah, minus eight and a half, and then Virginia Tech, minus 13.5.
- 49:25SPEAKER_00: I think Boston College is one of the worst teams I've ever seen.
- 49:29SPEAKER_00: In the NFL, bounce back Texans, minus two and a half.
- 49:32SPEAKER_00: Must win.
- 49:33SPEAKER_00: The Bills, minus seven.
- 49:35SPEAKER_00: Beat up on DJ Mikey D.
- 49:37SPEAKER_00: He might be fired by the time this one's this one's over.
- 49:40SPEAKER_00: Him or Harbaugh might quit this weekend.
- 49:43SPEAKER_00: We've got Rams minus two and a half.
- 49:45SPEAKER_00: And then Jared, bear with me.
- 49:47SPEAKER_00: Hold your nose.
- 49:48SPEAKER_01: The Steelers.
- 49:50SPEAKER_00: The Steelers plus three and a half.
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: It's so gross.
- 49:53SPEAKER_00: It's so, so, so gross.
- 49:55SPEAKER_00: I think they stink.
- 49:56SPEAKER_00: But I have to take a home underdog getting more than a field goal.
- 49:59SPEAKER_00: I just have to do it in a division game.
- 50:01SPEAKER_00: It just has to be done.
- 50:02SPEAKER_00: The Mikes have gone for over 56.5 in UCLA, Maryland.
- 50:07SPEAKER_00: Ole Miss Florida, over.
- 50:08SPEAKER_00: This is a Michael Collins board if I've ever seen one.
- 50:11SPEAKER_00: Michigan, Iowa, under 38.5, of course.
- 50:14SPEAKER_00: That's that's a I like that one.
- 50:17SPEAKER_00: South Carolina, Alabama, over 53.5.
- 50:20SPEAKER_00: Mississippi State, Missouri, over 58.5.
- 50:24SPEAKER_00: FAU ULM over 57.5.
- 50:28SPEAKER_00: And then in the NFL, he has gone for his Jaguars minus three, the Seahawks minus seven, and then Bucks, Vikings under 42 and a half.
- 50:36SPEAKER_00: So that rounds out the episode, Jair.
- 50:39SPEAKER_00: I I need a big bounce back week, and I think you do too, because it's it's me and you against Mark Manera and the Mikes.
- 50:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, listen.
- 50:46SPEAKER_02: We're still, we're still, I like the like you said, the 500 level this early in the year, I'm fine with.
- 50:53SPEAKER_02: I I have faith, and I mean that that that columns, the the over under, that's diabolical.
- 51:00SPEAKER_02: It's unbelievable.
- 51:02SPEAKER_00: It's so funny.
- 51:03SPEAKER_00: It's so funny.
- 51:04SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's great.
- 51:05SPEAKER_00: Also, it is just him making the picks this week because Mike McAllister Blum is currently, I think, as of last update, he's running around the O'Hare airport trying to find a plane back home.
- 51:16SPEAKER_00: He went to Europe last week and he has had a rough, rough go of it trying to get back to Philadelphia.
- 51:23SPEAKER_00: So hopefully by the time this episode airs, Blum has found his way home.
- 51:27SPEAKER_00: But right now he's doing his best Kevin McAllister impression.
- 51:29SPEAKER_02: I've had issues at O'Hare too.
- 51:31SPEAKER_02: I hope they didn't make Blum go through customs when he landed in Chicago, and then he has to go through customs again in Philadelphia.
- 51:37SPEAKER_02: Listen, Blum, maybe maybe you stay in Chicago and go to the Monday night game, Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles.
- 51:43SPEAKER_02: Not the worst thing.
- 51:44SPEAKER_02: So yeah, unbelievable.
- 51:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, get boots on the ground there, Blum.
- 51:48SPEAKER_00: Jarr, we also have the President's Cup and Golf this weekend and the final week of the MLB season.
- 51:53SPEAKER_00: So next week we'll have a little bit of playoff baseball chatter, which is exciting.
- 51:58SPEAKER_00: Hopefully the Philadelphia Phillies make it.
- 52:00SPEAKER_00: It seems like a near certainty at this point that they'll be in in some capacity.
- 52:03SPEAKER_00: We just need to see who we're playing.
- 52:05SPEAKER_00: And then the President's Cup and Golf, Jarr, is there any chance for the Internationals?
- 52:09SPEAKER_02: Um nah.
- 52:11SPEAKER_02: I saw, I saw, I saw, I saw JT make a post today.
- 52:15SPEAKER_02: I guess he had uh, I guess Tuesday is a basic practice round.
- 52:20SPEAKER_02: It looked like it looked like the group.
- 52:22SPEAKER_02: They looked like they were having fun, looked like they were exciting.
- 52:24SPEAKER_02: It's been a little bit, I guess not too long since the end of golf the season, but yeah, I'll I'll give it, I'll give it.
- 52:32SPEAKER_02: I'm feeling patriotic.
- 52:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I will of course be rooting for the internationals, as I hate the U.S.
- 52:39SPEAKER_00: men's American golf team, and I do root against the women as well.
- 52:42SPEAKER_00: Shout out Solheim Cup champions, but I don't think the internationals have much of a chance.
- 52:46SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna back them, I'm gonna root for them, I'm gonna support them.
- 52:49SPEAKER_00: I don't really like any of the matchups.
- 52:51SPEAKER_00: It seems like on paper this could be a beatdown, and usually the President's Cup is, especially on U.S.
- 52:56SPEAKER_00: soil, so I would be surprised if the US falters in this one.
- 53:00SPEAKER_00: And if they do, I'm gonna demand a Michael Collins emergency podcast appearance because he's been ducking the problems surrounding United States men's golf for too long.
- 53:10SPEAKER_02: I might be brooding against the US just because of that, honestly.
- 53:16SPEAKER_00: There we go.
- 53:16SPEAKER_00: We're brothers in arms there.
- 53:18SPEAKER_00: Jared, thank you as always for joining me.
- 53:20SPEAKER_00: This was always it's always a pleasure.
- 53:22SPEAKER_02: Likewise, Sean, always great chatting.
- 53:26SPEAKER_02: Great week of football, everything else, too.
- 53:29SPEAKER_02: This was fun.
- 53:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's all going on at the moment.
- 53:32SPEAKER_00: So we'll dive into some more sports next week.
- 53:34SPEAKER_00: We'll recap the weekend in football.
