- 0:10Speaker 1: Good day was again, everybody, We are locked in loaded
- 0:12Speaker 1: to bring you another edition of Birds Weekly, presented by
- 0:15Speaker 1: the Inside the Birds Network along with my friend and
- 0:17Speaker 1: colleague Gray Didn't Drive Derek Gunn. The Denver Broncos are
- 0:20Speaker 1: coming to Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday and Ray. This
- 0:24Speaker 1: is an interesting team. I mean, they're two and two.
- 0:27Speaker 1: They've lost both of their road games to the Colts
- 0:31Speaker 1: and the Charges by a grand total of four points.
- 0:33Speaker 1: But man, they are competitive bunch, no doubt about it.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:37Speaker 3: I mean, there were a lot of people at the
- 0:39Speaker 3: beginning of this season that we're picking the Broncos to
- 0:43Speaker 3: win the AFC West. I mean, it's been a long time,
- 0:47Speaker 3: long time since anybody even challenged the Chiefs in the West,
- 0:51Speaker 3: much less on seat them.
- 0:53Speaker 2: But a lot of people felt that the Broncos were
- 0:55Speaker 2: kind of there right now.
- 0:56Speaker 3: After you know what people saw bow Next last year
- 0:59Speaker 3: as a rookie finalist for Rookie of the Year. The
- 1:02Speaker 3: feeling was that, you know, Sean Payton finally had his
- 1:05Speaker 3: quarterback and this team was only going to get better.
- 1:09Speaker 3: And yeah, i mean they're owing two on the road,
- 1:11Speaker 3: but they could have easily won both of those games
- 1:14Speaker 3: and you know, we've been saying it, saying it all along,
- 1:17Speaker 3: and people have been saying all along, Well, the Eagles
- 1:20Speaker 3: schedule early, they got those first four games are going
- 1:23Speaker 3: to be tough. Well, I thought the fifth all along.
- 1:25Speaker 3: I thought the fifth game was going to be pretty
- 1:27Speaker 3: tough too. And even though even though it's here, you know,
- 1:30Speaker 3: I don't think the Denver Broncos or any joke.
- 1:33Speaker 1: You know, you mentioned Sean Payton and what a career
- 1:35Speaker 1: he's had. You know, he won a Super Bowl down
- 1:37Speaker 1: in New Orleans. He is one of the winningst coaches
- 1:40Speaker 1: all time in NFL history, and the Broncos gave a
- 1:45Speaker 1: lot of capital to get him in. But it appears
- 1:47Speaker 1: that they got the right man for the job. It's
- 1:49Speaker 1: a slow process, as we all know, when you're trying
- 1:51Speaker 1: to rebuild something that has been non existent for a while,
- 1:54Speaker 1: but he appears to have this team moving in the
- 1:56Speaker 1: right direction.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:58Speaker 3: I really definitely, really do think so. And you know,
- 2:02Speaker 3: it's a it was a strange thing there when I
- 2:05Speaker 3: mean we went through the better part of a decade
- 2:08Speaker 3: when the Denver Broncos were irrelevant.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I mean it kind of does.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Oh yeah, they're they're kind of out there and they're
- 2:15Speaker 3: going to play, but they're not really going to do much.
- 2:17Speaker 2: And you know, we weren't really.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Used to that because the Broncos were one of the
- 2:20Speaker 3: best teams in the lague for a very long time
- 2:23Speaker 3: and then they just kind of fell off the map.
- 2:26Speaker 3: But when they hired Sean Payton, I had the feeling
- 2:29Speaker 3: that he was going to get him back on trackage
- 2:31Speaker 3: You're going to take him a little bit.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Of time to get his kind of team in place,
- 2:35Speaker 2: get his kind of quarterback, and he's done it now.
- 2:39Speaker 2: I think that.
- 2:40Speaker 3: I mean, there were some questions, nobody was a lot
- 2:42Speaker 3: of people weren't all that high on Knicks coming out
- 2:44Speaker 3: of college. I mean, he was a late first round
- 2:46Speaker 3: draft pick, but I thought he was really good. And
- 2:50Speaker 3: I really felt like if you put him in the
- 2:52Speaker 3: right place with the right coach, uh, and we know
- 2:55Speaker 3: that Sean Payton is very good with quarterbacks, I thought
- 2:58Speaker 3: the chance the kid had a chance to be pretty good.
- 3:00Speaker 3: And I think you're seeing it now.
- 3:02Speaker 1: You know, when you talk about a bow Nix, I
- 3:04Speaker 1: love his makeup, you know, even his rookie campaign he
- 3:08Speaker 1: played with you know, sometimes reckless abandon, strong arm, accuracy
- 3:14Speaker 1: is is really good, and he's not afraid to take
- 3:17Speaker 1: off and put his shoulder down and and engage contact.
- 3:22Speaker 1: He's I'd like to say he's a combination of like
- 3:25Speaker 1: a Brett farv and and I'm trying to think of
- 3:28Speaker 1: who else, but he has a physicality, but he also
- 3:31Speaker 1: has that that quarterback i Q. He sees the field
- 3:34Speaker 1: very well and man man, can he deliver strikes?
- 3:38Speaker 2: Sure? Ken uh.
- 3:39Speaker 3: And one of the things that's very characteristic of Sean
- 3:44Speaker 3: Payton offenses and quarterback play is he really likes to
- 3:49Speaker 3: use the play action. I mean, we saw it, and look,
- 3:52Speaker 3: I am not I am not going to try and
- 3:55Speaker 3: compare bow Knicks at this point in his career with
- 3:58Speaker 3: Drew Brees.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Okay, I Am not going there. But if you think
- 4:03Speaker 2: back to.
- 4:03Speaker 3: That old Saints offense, you know how much of it
- 4:06Speaker 3: worked off the play action kind of thing. You know,
- 4:09Speaker 3: get getting breeze a little time, getting receivers open, and
- 4:13Speaker 3: it took Peyton a while to kind of get that
- 4:15Speaker 3: running component that would set up the play action.
- 4:19Speaker 2: But with the signing of JK.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Dobbins and the way he's running, now you have that
- 4:24Speaker 3: and you saw in this game that Bownecks had all
- 4:27Speaker 3: kinds of time back there, and listen, if it isn't
- 4:30Speaker 3: for if it isn't for two drops, but Tony Franklin
- 4:34Speaker 3: next through throws for four hundred.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Yards in that game against Cincinnati.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Again not the Cincinnati is a great team right now,
- 4:41Speaker 3: but you can really see if you watch the Froncers,
- 4:43Speaker 3: you can kind of see a lot of those pieces
- 4:45Speaker 3: starting to come together.
- 4:47Speaker 1: You know, Nicks appears to be also a risk taker.
- 4:50Speaker 1: He has seven touchdown passes, but he also has four interceptions.
- 4:53Speaker 1: You know, sometimes he'll throw that yell of eye's pass,
- 4:55Speaker 1: try to put it in a small window and it
- 4:58Speaker 1: doesn't work well for him, but then he comes right
- 5:00Speaker 1: back he makes a big play. I mean, he can's
- 5:01Speaker 1: fearless in a lot of ways.
- 5:03Speaker 3: He Yeah, he does seem resilient, which you have to
- 5:07Speaker 3: be to play quarterback in the NFL. You just that
- 5:10Speaker 3: has to be one of the things. I mean, Yeah,
- 5:12Speaker 3: you want a guy that's got some size, you want
- 5:14Speaker 3: a guy that has a strong arm, but he has
- 5:16Speaker 3: to have a certain kind of makeup that he can
- 5:18Speaker 3: bounce back from a bad performance or bounce back from
- 5:20Speaker 3: a bad throw. And I was really kind of curious
- 5:24Speaker 3: to see how Knicks was going to play in this game,
- 5:27Speaker 3: being a Monday night kind of game, national audience, coming
- 5:30Speaker 3: off of performance against the Chargers, and when he got
- 5:34Speaker 3: a fair amount of criticism. You know, I came down
- 5:36Speaker 3: on him after that Chargers game and kind of we're
- 5:38Speaker 3: blaming him for the loss, and I was wondering, Okay,
- 5:41Speaker 3: how's he going to handle this? You know, now he's
- 5:43Speaker 3: got to go on Monday night football, everybody's gonna be
- 5:45Speaker 3: talking about people watching. And he came out and played
- 5:49Speaker 3: really really well. I mean, you know, he threw for
- 5:51Speaker 3: three twenty six, but like I said, could have been
- 5:53Speaker 3: four hundred. But even within that point he made he
- 5:58Speaker 3: threw a ball at the end zone for an intercept
- 6:00Speaker 3: that you're just saying, what is he thinking? And that
- 6:03Speaker 3: at this point in his career he will still make
- 6:05Speaker 3: those throws. But overall, I mean, you see a guy
- 6:08Speaker 3: well I think is on his way to having a
- 6:09Speaker 3: really good career.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Yeah, he's only been sacked three times. Do you do
- 6:15Speaker 1: you think their offensive line is underrated? I think they're
- 6:19Speaker 1: pretty solid tackle to tackle.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Yeah, the center is the center is probably their weaklink. Uh,
- 6:26Speaker 3: And when you watch it, you can kind of see it.
- 6:29Speaker 3: He's and I mean got called for five flags thrown
- 6:33Speaker 3: on him in the in the Bengals game. So uh,
- 6:37Speaker 3: I think that that's one of the areas that the
- 6:39Speaker 3: Eagles can exploit here. The the Broncos offensive line is
- 6:45Speaker 3: good on the edges, for sure, but if they have
- 6:47Speaker 3: a weakness, it's right there at the center position. And
- 6:50Speaker 3: you think about where the Eagles strongest on their defense,
- 6:53Speaker 3: it's right in the middle of their pass rush.
- 6:56Speaker 2: So I think that's I think that's.
- 6:57Speaker 3: One area where the Eagles have an advantage and that's
- 7:01Speaker 3: where they can generate some pass rush on Boonix.
- 7:04Speaker 1: The running game, here's another running game that's going to
- 7:08Speaker 1: try to test the Eagles interior. It's a running game
- 7:11Speaker 1: that's been averaging over five yards of carry and their
- 7:14Speaker 1: lead back JK. Dobbins appears to have resurrected his career
- 7:17Speaker 1: in Denver. He's averaging almost six yards of carry. You know,
- 7:21Speaker 1: I love the fact low center of gravity type runner,
- 7:23Speaker 1: very shifty, but also like can lower the shoulder run
- 7:26Speaker 1: through people if he has to. It's you know, and
- 7:28Speaker 1: the Eagles have had their difficulties this season defending against
- 7:32Speaker 1: the run, and so I think it's going to be
- 7:34Speaker 1: another test trying to stop JK. Dobbins going through the
- 7:36Speaker 1: middle of that line.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so too.
- 7:39Speaker 3: I mean, no one the way Sean Payton likes to
- 7:42Speaker 3: call a game, I after he studies the film of
- 7:45Speaker 3: the Eagles defense, teams have had some success running the
- 7:49Speaker 3: ball against the Eagles, more.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Than I actually, more than I thought. So I think
- 7:53Speaker 2: that's going to be his game plan.
- 7:55Speaker 3: His MO coming into this game is, I think they're
- 7:57Speaker 3: going to come out early and run Dobbins between the tackle,
- 8:00Speaker 3: see what they can generate in there, See if they
- 8:02Speaker 3: can control the ball and move it, get some first downs,
- 8:04Speaker 3: and then in the same process, then set up some
- 8:07Speaker 3: play action shots too. Was it not a superstar laden
- 8:12Speaker 3: group of receivers. Yeah, a good solid group of receivers
- 8:17Speaker 3: and nicks for a young quarterback has the ability and
- 8:20Speaker 3: you said it earlier to see the whole field and
- 8:22Speaker 3: really distribute the ball.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I mean again, in the Bengals.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Game, they had like five guys that had four or
- 8:28Speaker 3: more catches, and so yeah, if people get open, Nix
- 8:32Speaker 3: will find them.
- 8:33Speaker 2: You know.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Speaking of people getting open, He's got a couple of
- 8:36Speaker 1: decent targets in Courtland Sutton, a former first round pick
- 8:39Speaker 1: in Marvin Mems. Between them, they have thirty catches over
- 8:42Speaker 1: three hundred and fifty yards four touchdowns. Do you think
- 8:45Speaker 1: Vic Fangio will will deploy the same type of tactic
- 8:49Speaker 1: he did in the most recent game. Have Quinn and
- 8:53Speaker 1: Mitchell follow court and setting across the field?
- 8:56Speaker 3: I don't know, I've been I'm just trying to guess
- 9:01Speaker 3: that one. Does this group of receivers sort of command that.
- 9:06Speaker 3: I mean, is there one guy I agree with you, Sutton?
- 9:09Speaker 2: Sutton?
- 9:10Speaker 3: Is that a go to guy on third down that's
- 9:13Speaker 3: generally where the ball is going to go? Is he
- 9:16Speaker 3: a super down the field, big play guy.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Not really.
- 9:18Speaker 3: I mean he's more of a he's more of a
- 9:20Speaker 3: move the sticks kind of guy, but in a big spot,
- 9:22Speaker 3: that's who they're looking for. Would that sort of dictate
- 9:25Speaker 3: to Vic Fangio that you know, I'm going to play
- 9:28Speaker 3: I'm going to play my best cover guy on him.
- 9:32Speaker 2: I'm not so sure. I don't know.
- 9:34Speaker 3: You know, when one of the things that when you
- 9:36Speaker 3: watched the Broncos last year, when you kind of saw
- 9:39Speaker 3: where this was headed, where you saw what Nicks was,
- 9:41Speaker 3: the way he was playing and the way this offense
- 9:43Speaker 3: was kind of rounding in the form. One area that
- 9:46Speaker 3: you just kind of said, man, they need to get
- 9:48Speaker 3: better there was tight end. I mean, they got no
- 9:50Speaker 3: production of the tight end. And this offseason they took
- 9:53Speaker 3: a shot at Evan Ingram, who has who has played
- 9:56Speaker 3: a while now and when he's been healthy, has been
- 9:58Speaker 3: quite productive. So they signed him, took a chance, and
- 10:02Speaker 3: he's now helped them.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Now.
- 10:04Speaker 3: I don't know, is he a seventeen game answer. Can
- 10:07Speaker 3: he play through all season? I don't know if it
- 10:09Speaker 3: a while since he's done that, but right now he's
- 10:12Speaker 3: healthy and he has really upgraded him in an area
- 10:14Speaker 3: where they needed help.
- 10:16Speaker 1: When I look at Denver's defense, I equated to a
- 10:19Speaker 1: movie that I love the watch called Fast and Furious.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Boy did they fly to the football? They give up
- 10:25Speaker 1: less than two hundred and ninety yards a game, less
- 10:27Speaker 1: than seventeen points a game. Under one hundred yards a
- 10:30Speaker 1: game they allow, and they're only giving up like seventeen
- 10:33Speaker 1: points a game. And oh, by the way, through four games,
- 10:35Speaker 1: they already have fifteen sex compared to the Eagles with
- 10:39Speaker 1: only six. You know, advanced Joseph, he's coming after Jalen,
- 10:43Speaker 1: after watching. You know what happened down in Tampa this
- 10:46Speaker 1: past weekend in terms of the Buccaneers trying to put
- 10:50Speaker 1: pressure on Jalen, especially in that second half. Although Tampa
- 10:53Speaker 1: Bay was getting pressure on Jalen with the four men
- 10:56Speaker 1: in front and they backed out of a lot of
- 10:57Speaker 1: the blitzes. But you know, advanced Joseph defense is going
- 11:00Speaker 1: to be coming after Jalen.
- 11:02Speaker 4: Hey, you know that one guy in the group chat
- 11:04Speaker 4: who hit a five leg parlay week one and he
- 11:06Speaker 4: wouldn't shut up about it for the rest of the season.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Sounds like Kaplan, right, Yeah, Yeah, it could be him,
- 11:12Speaker 4: It could be you, and we would all want to
- 11:16Speaker 4: be you. My bookie makes it stupid easy to get

- 13:34Speaker 2: He will he will, I mean that's his m and
- 13:38Speaker 2: we saw certainly Todd Bowles did that, Ashampa. I mean,
- 13:41Speaker 2: that's just you note there are certain defensive coordinators who
- 13:45Speaker 2: I mean, that's that's their philosophy and that's how they're
- 13:47Speaker 2: going to play. And Joseph and Van is like that.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Yeah, last year they led the lig in sacks. Yeah,
- 13:54Speaker 3: I don't know how many people are really aware of that.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Sixty They had sixty three sacks last year and they're
- 14:01Speaker 3: and they're on a pace to be right there again.
- 14:04Speaker 2: And yeah, I mean the Eagles have to be mindful
- 14:07Speaker 2: of that.
- 14:07Speaker 3: I mean, they're that's a team with them, there's a
- 14:10Speaker 3: team with They're strong and a lot of a lot
- 14:13Speaker 3: of good areas where you need to be strong, and
- 14:16Speaker 3: pass rush is certainly one of them. You know, if
- 14:18Speaker 3: if you wanted to start about talk about a checklist,
- 14:21Speaker 3: check the boxes of what do you need to be
- 14:23Speaker 3: a good team in the NFL. Two of the things
- 14:26Speaker 3: right at the top are can you protect your quarterback?
- 14:31Speaker 3: And can you get to the other team's quarterback? You know,
- 14:33Speaker 3: that's those are two things that you if you're going
- 14:35Speaker 3: to win in the NFL, you kind of need to
- 14:37Speaker 3: do that. Yeah, and Broncos can't, you know. I'm a
- 14:40Speaker 3: little bit surprised to see them at two and two now.
- 14:43Speaker 3: I thought they go off to a faster start. But
- 14:45Speaker 3: I think over the course of the season they're They're
- 14:49Speaker 3: going to be a good team, and right now I
- 14:51Speaker 3: think they I think they have a really good chance
- 14:53Speaker 3: to win that division.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I really do.
- 14:54Speaker 3: I think they're I think they're better than the Chargers
- 14:57Speaker 3: and the Chiefs are still sort of finding themselves, and
- 15:00Speaker 3: who knows, by the end of the year, they might
- 15:01Speaker 3: look like the Chiefs again. Right now, I think Denver
- 15:04Speaker 3: might be the best team in that division.
- 15:06Speaker 1: You know what's intriguing about this defense is they don't
- 15:09Speaker 1: have a lot of first round draft picks playing on
- 15:11Speaker 1: his defense. And most of the guys that are that
- 15:14Speaker 1: are starting on their defense weren't even Denver draft picks.
- 15:17Speaker 1: They're like third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh round draft picks.
- 15:21Speaker 1: And it's it's amazing the makeup of this particular defense.
- 15:25Speaker 2: And I'll tell you the leader of the defense. Here's
- 15:28Speaker 2: the thing that's the funnies.
- 15:29Speaker 1: I don't know if I want to say the funniest,
- 15:30Speaker 1: but I'll say the funniest thing about this defense. The
- 15:33Speaker 1: leader of the defense is the former Eagle Alex Singleton,
- 15:37Speaker 1: who leaves that team with thirty eight secs. You know,
- 15:39Speaker 1: we always talk about how, you know, one system may
- 15:41Speaker 1: not suit a player, but if he goes somewhere else,
- 15:44Speaker 1: you know, he flourishes. And boy, has Alex Singleton, who's
- 15:46Speaker 1: basically a special team or here, flourished in this Denver defense.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Yeah, you know it is. It is.
- 15:53Speaker 3: One of the funny things about about pro football is
- 15:55Speaker 3: how guys in one place can be just sort of ah,
- 15:59Speaker 3: and then they go somewhere else they get with a
- 16:01Speaker 3: different coach and they're playing in a different system and
- 16:03Speaker 3: all of a sudden they blossom.
- 16:04Speaker 2: I mean, there's no Singleton's an example of that.
- 16:06Speaker 3: And here in Philadelphia, I mean, Zach Bond is the
- 16:10Speaker 3: poster child for that, you know.
- 16:11Speaker 2: I mean there's a guy that went to.
- 16:13Speaker 3: New Orleans and was just on the fringes kind of
- 16:16Speaker 3: special teams, occasional pass rusher. Guy comes here and Vic
- 16:21Speaker 3: Fangio says, hey, I think this guy can play off
- 16:23Speaker 3: ball linebacker, and he winds up being a finalist for
- 16:27Speaker 3: Defensive Player of the Year. However, on the other side
- 16:30Speaker 3: of it, the Denver Broncos have the reigning NFL Defensive
- 16:35Speaker 3: Player of the Aaron Patricks are Tan and he's and
- 16:38Speaker 3: he is still he is still one of the best
- 16:41Speaker 3: in the league. I mean in the game that they
- 16:44Speaker 3: played against Cincinnati on Monday night, I mean, he was
- 16:47Speaker 3: covering Jamar Chase and held him without a big play,
- 16:51Speaker 3: held him in twenty six yards receiving. Now, I know
- 16:55Speaker 3: the quarterback play on the Bengals at the moment is
- 16:58Speaker 3: not particularly good.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I had something to do with it, But we've all.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Seen Patrick Sartan over the course of his career and
- 17:06Speaker 3: weekend and week out.
- 17:08Speaker 2: He is that kind of player.
- 17:09Speaker 3: So I'm one of the things I'm going to be
- 17:11Speaker 3: looking at in this game is where do they deploy him?
- 17:14Speaker 3: You know, do they put him on AJ Brown? Do
- 17:18Speaker 3: they put him on DeVante Smith? Or do they just
- 17:21Speaker 3: play him straight up on one side and just let
- 17:23Speaker 3: him take that side of the field. Certain's good enough
- 17:26Speaker 3: to do any of it. It's just a question of
- 17:27Speaker 3: how they want to utilize them.
- 17:29Speaker 1: You know what, Right, it's funny you should say that,
- 17:31Speaker 1: because I'd still think that Certain is one of the
- 17:34Speaker 1: best cover corners in the National Football League and he
- 17:37Speaker 1: can get physical with the best of the wide receivers
- 17:40Speaker 1: out there. I'm hoping that they put him on DeVante
- 17:43Speaker 1: Smith only because I don't want to see any more
- 17:45Speaker 1: cryptic messages from AJ Brown next week if he only
- 17:48Speaker 1: gets two or three catches in this game coming up
- 17:50Speaker 1: with Denver.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Yeah, you're right, I mean this. You know, we spent
- 17:58Speaker 3: earlier in the week when we did our breakdown on
- 18:02Speaker 3: the game, we spent a lot of time talking about
- 18:05Speaker 3: this sort of split personality with this team right now,
- 18:09Speaker 3: you know, all the questions that people have about them,
- 18:12Speaker 3: which are legitimate, but that versus the reality of being
- 18:17Speaker 3: four and oh and having won twenty out of twenty
- 18:20Speaker 3: one and being the team that they are winning games,
- 18:26Speaker 3: twelve straight wins at home. I mean, all of that
- 18:28Speaker 3: crazy stuff. That's true too. But then you see these
- 18:31Speaker 3: last couple of games that you win, you win one
- 18:34Speaker 3: of them on a block field goal at the end
- 18:36Speaker 3: of the game. You have the game last week that
- 18:38Speaker 3: you haven't handed, and you almost see it melt away,
- 18:41Speaker 3: this kind.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Of up and down.
- 18:44Speaker 3: You know, I've used the term schizophrenic players, which really
- 18:48Speaker 3: is it really is kind of what it looks like,
- 18:50Speaker 3: you know, kind of what are you? Yeah, if you
- 18:53Speaker 3: want to be, if you want to be the class
- 18:55Speaker 3: two thirds full guy, you're going to say we're for
- 18:59Speaker 3: a oh you know, we're one of two teams in
- 19:02Speaker 3: the whole NFL it's four and oh.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that's so. That's so. But if you look at
- 19:06Speaker 2: the other side.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Of it and how you've gotten the four and oh,
- 19:09Speaker 3: admittedly against a good schedule, I will grant them that
- 19:12Speaker 3: you still have some You still have some I.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Wonder what's really going on here? And this is going
- 19:17Speaker 2: to be for.
- 19:18Speaker 3: The fourth week in a row. This is gonna be
- 19:20Speaker 3: a real test. I mean at Denver Broncos are. I
- 19:23Speaker 3: think they're a really good team and as I said
- 19:25Speaker 3: right now, I think they're the best team in that division,
- 19:27Speaker 3: and even coming in here, I think I think there's
- 19:30Speaker 3: gonna be a tough game for the Eagles.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Yet another one, Well, Ray, who do you like in

- 21:40Speaker 4: one and up.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Boy, there's a real there's a real part of me
- 21:47Speaker 3: that I'm there's a real part of its leaning towards
- 21:51Speaker 3: the Broncos in Whoa for this reason. Yeah, it's it's
- 21:57Speaker 3: always it's always a very un wise thing to look
- 22:01Speaker 3: too far down the road.
- 22:02Speaker 2: In the NFL.
- 22:03Speaker 3: I mean, things just change too much to really to
- 22:07Speaker 3: do that logically, but we all do it.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Okay.
- 22:10Speaker 3: If if the Eagles are to win this game, you're
- 22:15Speaker 3: looking at the very realistic prospect, given the fact that
- 22:19Speaker 3: over the next three weeks they have the Giants twice
- 22:22Speaker 3: and then probably Carson Wentz in Minneapolis, that they could
- 22:27Speaker 3: if they win this game, the likelihood is they'll get.
- 22:31Speaker 2: To the by eight. No, yes, now who does that?
- 22:37Speaker 3: So they're just seemed on its face, you're just gonna
- 22:39Speaker 3: say no, I mean, the Eagles are really good, and
- 22:42Speaker 3: power rankings, I'd probably put the number one for eight. No, really,
- 22:46Speaker 3: you know, and at that point, you're, what twenty four
- 22:47Speaker 3: out of twenty five. They're just crazy numbers. So you
- 22:51Speaker 3: look at that and saying, you know, they probably should
- 22:55Speaker 3: lose this game. I mean, just the law of averages
- 22:56Speaker 3: tells you that.
- 22:58Speaker 2: But you know, I mean the Broncos, their two losses
- 23:01Speaker 2: were on the road.
- 23:03Speaker 3: Their two wins were against two pretty hapless teams in
- 23:07Speaker 3: Tennessee and Cincinnati.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Yeah uh.
- 23:10Speaker 3: And the Eagles are one twelve in a row at
- 23:12Speaker 3: the Lincoln and then they're a handful here.
- 23:14Speaker 2: So I am, I am. I'm gonna. I'm gonna stick
- 23:17Speaker 2: with the Eagles until they until they lose. I'm not gonna.
- 23:20Speaker 3: I'm not gonna pick against them, but I think I
- 23:23Speaker 3: think it's gonna be another one of those edge of
- 23:26Speaker 3: your seat, maybe down to a last second field goal
- 23:29Speaker 3: by Jake Elliott to win it. But I'm gonna pick
- 23:31Speaker 3: them to win it fairly low scoring because I do
- 23:33Speaker 3: think I do think the Broncos are going to come
- 23:35Speaker 3: out and run the ball with Dobbins.
- 23:36Speaker 2: I would, So I want to say twenty.
- 23:39Speaker 1: One whoa you know you're right in my alley. I mean,
- 23:43Speaker 1: Lady luck is indeed shined on this Eagles team, and
- 23:46Speaker 1: it seems like every week through the first four games,
- 23:49Speaker 1: somebody has come up to make a big play for
- 23:52Speaker 1: this team, whether it's on offense or defense. They've gotten
- 23:55Speaker 1: some breaks along the way, and of course they've made
- 23:57Speaker 1: some of their own breaks as well. Uh, they still
- 24:00Speaker 1: haven't gotten a running game going, and I don't see
- 24:01Speaker 1: them getting their running game going against this Denver defensive front.
- 24:05Speaker 1: But they're playing this game at home. For whatever reason,
- 24:09Speaker 1: they continuously find a way to win, and they still
- 24:12Speaker 1: have not developed the so called identity, which we all
- 24:15Speaker 1: believe that through the first four games of a season.
- 24:18Speaker 1: You know, we find out teams identity, and I don't
- 24:21Speaker 1: think we're anywhere close to finding out what this team
- 24:23Speaker 1: is or is not at this particular time. But they're
- 24:26Speaker 1: playing a game at home, So I'm going to take
- 24:28Speaker 1: the Eagles to win this game twenty three to seventeen.
- 24:32Speaker 1: All Right, that's gonna wrap it up for this preview
- 24:36Speaker 1: edition of Birds Weekly, presented by the Inside the Birds
- 24:39Speaker 1: Network for my friend Ray Didinger.
- 24:40Speaker 2: I'm Derek Gunn.
- 24:41Speaker 1: We'll see what happens on Sunday, and we'll be right
- 24:44Speaker 1: back here next week to talk about it. Until then,
- 24:47Speaker 1: have a great week, everybody,
