- 0:41Speaker 1: He who controls his hand, he who controls his feet,
- 0:46Speaker 1: He who controls his speech, He who is well controlled,
- 0:52Speaker 1: He who delights inwardly, who is collected, who is solitary
- 0:57Speaker 1: and content. They call bikshu. The bikshu who controls his mouth,
- 1:06Speaker 1: who speaks wisely and calmly, who teaches the meaning and
- 1:11Speaker 1: the law. His word is sweet. He who dwells in
- 1:17Speaker 1: the law, delights in the law, meditates on the law,
- 1:23Speaker 1: follows the law. That bicshu will never fall away from
- 1:28Speaker 1: the true law. Let him not despise what he has received,
- 1:36Speaker 1: nor ever envy others. A mendicant who envies others does
- 1:41Speaker 1: not obtain peace of mind. A bikshu, who though he
- 1:47Speaker 1: receives little, does not despise what he has received. Even
- 1:53Speaker 1: the gods will praise him if his life is pure,
- 1:57Speaker 1: and if he is not slothful. He who never identifies
- 2:03Speaker 1: himself with name and form, and does not grieve over
- 2:07Speaker 1: what is no more, he indeed is called a bikshu.

- 2:52Speaker 1: bikshu who has escaped from the five fetters. He is
- 2:56Speaker 1: called Ogatina. Saved from the blood. Meditate obictuu and be
- 3:05Speaker 1: not heedless. Do not direct thy thought to what gives pleasure,
- 3:12Speaker 1: that thou mayest not for thy heedlessness, have to swallow
- 3:17Speaker 1: the iron ball in hell, and that thou mayest not
- 3:22Speaker 1: cry out when burning. This is pain without knowledge. There
- 3:29Speaker 1: is no meditation. Without meditation, there is no knowledge. He
- 3:36Speaker 1: who has knowledge and meditation is near, and who nirv honor.
- 3:43Speaker 1: A bikshu who has entered his empty house and whose
- 3:47Speaker 1: mind is tranquil, feels a more than human delight. When

- 4:02Speaker 1: of the body, he finds happiness and joy, which belong
- 4:07Speaker 1: to those who know the immortal nirvana. And this is
- 4:13Speaker 1: the beginning here for a wise bicture. Watchfulness over the senses, contentedness,
- 4:21Speaker 1: restraint under the law, Keep noble friends whose life is
- 4:26Speaker 1: pure and who are not slothful. Let him live in charity,
- 4:33Speaker 1: Let him be perfect in his duties. Then in the
- 4:38Speaker 1: fullness of delight, he will make an end of suffering.
- 4:44Speaker 1: As the varsickly plant sheds its withered flowers, men should
- 4:49Speaker 1: shed passion and hatred. O ye bictuus, the bictu whose
- 4:56Speaker 1: body and tongue and mind are quieted, who is collected
- 5:01Speaker 1: and has rejected the bates of the world, he is
- 5:05Speaker 1: called quiet. Rouse thyself by thyself, Examine thyself by thyself. Thus,
- 5:16Speaker 1: self protected and attentive, wilt thou live happily Obicuu, for
- 5:23Speaker 1: self is the lord of self. Self is the refuge
- 5:28Speaker 1: of self. Therefore, curb thyself as the merchant curbs a
- 5:34Speaker 1: good horse. The bikshu full of delight, who is calm
- 5:42Speaker 1: in the doctrine of Buddha will reach the quiet place Nirvana,
- 5:48Speaker 1: cessation of natural desires and happiness. He who, even as
