- 0:21Speaker 2: Welcome to In Moderation the show where we give you a moderate dose of info sarcasm and we already know we're not approved.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Hey everybody, welcome to the podcast episode.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I'm not even gonna guess because I have no idea.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Episode Liam stopped counting ages ago.
- 0:46Speaker 2: A long like episode three.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I'm not even joking.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Today we have on the episode Rob, Rob, how you doing.
- 0:53Speaker 1: I'm doing awesome, Liam.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Thank you for asking.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Thank you for having me.
- 0:58Speaker 2: You're very you're most welcome.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I guess we should also introduce our guest.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Our actual guest.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Our actual guest Snitch, hi, snitch, how you doing, I'm doing A-OK-ish.
- 1:10Speaker 3: I have sleep deprived, yay.
- 1:14Speaker 2: It's 2024.
- 1:15Speaker 2: We all are gonna be this.
- 1:16Speaker 2: We've already gone past the first week of we're gonna do better.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Now we're in the bucket.
- 1:21Speaker 2: We give up, snitch, one of my favorite things.
- 1:25Speaker 2: We're gonna just jump right into it.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Guys, we don't need all the interest stuff.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Snitch, one of my favorite things about your videos is you go over these videos of people who do lots of, let's say, odd exercises.
- 1:38Speaker 2: They're on bo-soo balls or all sorts of crazy contraptions, doing weird things.
- 1:45Speaker 1: They look like they belong in the circus.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Oh yes, they probably do very well in that.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Here's the thing.
- 1:51Speaker 2: You kind of come in and say, all right, this is a little out there.
- 1:55Speaker 2: It might be fun and flashy, but here's the actual true science.
- 2:00Speaker 2: I kind of want to get into what makes those videos blow up, because those are the videos that are always big, the standard, normal shit that we tell people every day that never seems to blow up.
- 2:10Speaker 2: What is it about those videos?
- 2:12Speaker 2: You think that really captures people's attention?
- 2:15Speaker 3: Well, everybody seems, I feel like, has a really hard time with fitness.
- 2:20Speaker 3: So what they want is something new they never seen it before and then combine that with the promise of really quick or desired results that you otherwise wouldn't get.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Yes, and we have to mention the person.
- 2:36Speaker 2: If it was a scrawny individual showing you these exercises, nobody would listen.
- 2:42Speaker 2: But it's always the big dudes that are like me, big me lift big weight.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Weird way, you get big too.
- 2:48Speaker 2: And I'm like, yes, I'm watching this guy, he's muscle bound, I want to be muscle bound, I'm going to do what he did and I'm going to get big too.
- 2:55Speaker 2: It has nothing to do with the performance Hansing drugs that he's on, it's all about these weird exercises that he's figured out, right, right.
- 3:04Speaker 3: And I mean I even saw this one really scrawny kid on not to be like offensive, but like noticeably scrawny, and he used that as like his way to make comedic like content and he was making fun of like the big muscley guys.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Oh I love that Doing these weird ass exercises like this is going to get you a big back, but yet he literally has no back.
- 3:25Speaker 2: So it's like I love the parody stuff.
- 3:29Speaker 2: It's so great because you're the thing people Right here snitch tell me.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Tell me the basics of exercise and how and like how muscle building works and that sort of stuff.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Give me the basics.
- 3:41Speaker 3: So like the very bare minimum, progressive overload, mechanical tension and yeah so for what.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Why can't you be on a big bouncy ball throwing something around that looks exciting?
- 3:56Speaker 2: That is what the people want.
- 3:59Speaker 3: I mean you could do stuff that's fun, like intensifiers, drop sets or sorry, intensifiers like drop sets, like what else?
- 4:09Speaker 3: Fucking myoreps or something like that and make things more intense and fun.
- 4:15Speaker 3: But the reality is that let's be real here it's not like magic in that sense.
- 4:22Speaker 3: I mean absolute.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Bo-soup ball bouncing Right.
- 4:27Speaker 2: And here's the thing.
- 4:27Speaker 2: I think those videos can serve a purpose and they are sort of fun to watch and you see people doing these weird things and maybe they encourage people to exercise more and, if you like them for those reasons, they might also encourage people to break a leg.
- 4:40Speaker 2: I mean there's also.
- 4:42Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, there's that, but like I don't know, I got into watching like when I was starting out, like working out.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I remember Ryan Hummiston if anybody's ever watched him on like YouTube he has all these different weird exercises and different variations and stuff and like I enjoyed.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Were they all, like you know, necessary?
- 4:58Speaker 2: Were they optimal?
- 4:59Speaker 2: Maybe not, but like I thought it was fun and interesting and I would make me think like, hey, if I go to the gym today I get to try that weird thing I saw and it's kind of fun and you know, like that I totally understand that.
- 5:10Speaker 2: But just understand, a lot of it is is gimmicky and that is the way you get views, because the normal stuff is just going to bore the shit out of people.
- 5:20Speaker 3: I 100% agree.
- 5:21Speaker 3: I mean there's a point of like having fun in the gym where you cross a line into like dangerous territory and like, once you get to the point where you're deadlifting on the safety bars with chains and freaking all that crap, yeah.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Some of the stuff you see is it's really like circus, like I mean, it is crazy.
- 5:41Speaker 2: You're like, okay, balance this in one hand and then throw this up and down all while on one leg, and it's like that's how I get big quads.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Okay, sure, like what the fuck?
- 5:53Speaker 3: Oh my God, have you heard of this?
- 5:54Speaker 3: There's this kinesiologist.
- 5:56Speaker 3: He ruins the name of all kinesiologists and made kinesiology sound like chiropractic, where he literally does like half squats with freaking chains and shit and he's like huh Joel Seaman.
- 6:11Speaker 3: There you go.
- 6:12Speaker 3: That's the gym wizard.
- 6:15Speaker 2: So, it's all Okay.
- 6:16Speaker 2: So anybody who doesn't know Joel Seaman, please pause this podcast right now.
- 6:19Speaker 2: There's a pause button.
- 6:20Speaker 2: I'm sure somewhere hit that.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Look up Joel Seaman right now.
- 6:23Speaker 2: You will see some exercises that make you completely turn your head, so much that you will need a chiropractor to readjust yourself.
- 6:30Speaker 1: And make sure that before you go look him up, pause this podcast to put on some circus music and then go look him up.
- 6:37Speaker 1: You know you got to doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot, doot.
- 6:43Speaker 2: So for him it's all based on like 90 degree angles, angles like you don't go past 90 degrees.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Why?
- 6:48Speaker 2: Because he says so and so it's he I mean not going to lie.
- 6:54Speaker 3: There is actually research to back in it.
- 6:55Speaker 3: However, it's nuance and knowing how to actually read the literature that can.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Right.
- 7:02Speaker 2: But like he trains with athletes is the thing.
- 7:04Speaker 2: So you see him with like an Antonio Brown or something like this big superstar athlete and you're like, whoa, that's how the pros work out, that's how I need to work out, right, and it's all this like I can't even describe any of it.
- 7:19Speaker 2: If I do, I'll just I won't do it justice.
- 7:22Speaker 2: You need to be able to see the stuff he comes up with.
- 7:24Speaker 2: It's phenomenal.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a good.
- 7:27Speaker 3: It's a good thing to watch if you want a good laugh.
- 7:29Speaker 3: But like now, I've got people in up in my comment section saying kinesiology is a joke.
- 7:34Speaker 2: So it's like that sucks, yeah, yeah.
- 7:38Speaker 3: It's like how much of it do you want to, like have in your field, I guess, where it's like at one point it's just like dude, come on, you're ruining everyone else's name.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Right.
- 7:48Speaker 2: So, people, if you see a video that's got like a millions of views and someone's doing something crazy, just know that there is a person calling that person out.
- 7:57Speaker 2: However, that video will get probably next to nothing because you know we love the weird and exotic shit, so stick to the basics.
- 8:35Speaker 2: That's really unique, yeah.
- 8:38Speaker 1: It comes from the fact that people think that muscle goes on fast and when they get slow results they think that there's some sort of secret, that they're missing or something.
- 8:50Speaker 1: And then they see these big people doing fancy things.
- 8:53Speaker 1: It's like oh, that's the secret.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I really think that sort of comes down to the selling the supplements to.
- 8:59Speaker 2: You know, when you see like a jug of protein powder, you're not going to see some like skinny guy on, you're going to see something who's like right it out, like that's, this is his secret, he uses this protein powder right.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean on top of supplements and just like looking muscular, like, let's say, he's on steroids or whatever, also making claims of like ways to grow your body that don't exist.
- 9:21Speaker 3: The major one that I like tackled was the lower back one, and then on top of that you've got this other guy.
- 9:27Speaker 3: He was claiming that the Reeves deadlift can like grow your clavicle bones and it's or like Joss or Joss or size or whatever.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Yeah, so here's the thing I'm already intrigued, like you just said that.
- 9:40Speaker 2: I know in my head it's bullshit, but I'm already like no, I want to know more about, like, how to grow certain bones and stuff.
- 9:45Speaker 2: That sounds fun.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I know it's not true, but I'm still interested in it.
- 9:48Speaker 2: That's how this stuff gets you.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Exactly, and I feel like that's another thing, like everybody wants the perfect frame, everyone wants the perfect genetics and some people don't want to accept the fact that it's not going to be there.
- 10:00Speaker 2: That's another good one too, because yeah, exactly, you're right, you're a V taper.
- 10:04Speaker 2: If you're kind of blocky or like, how do I do the exercises to give me more of this?
- 10:08Speaker 2: And it's like, actually that's just how your body's built and, like, these people are famous influencers because they have the right genetics and the right camera and the right the right supplements and the right lighting in the right Photoshop.
- 10:23Speaker 2: And the right everything.
- 10:24Speaker 2: So you know it's.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Yeah, it is, it is funny.
- 10:27Speaker 2: But I want to like kind of transition this into why?
- 10:31Speaker 2: Like, because we do a lot of nutrition info and we'll see some people who are giving information that's, let's say, less than stellar, but because they look good, people believe them.
- 10:42Speaker 2: I think that's pretty normal.
- 10:43Speaker 2: But there's so many other videos where you get someone who's just saying like just the dumbest, the dumbest of the dumb, and it still has millions of views.
- 10:52Speaker 2: It still has get so much traction.
- 10:54Speaker 2: What is it about those ones in nutrition that really make the video blows up?
- 10:59Speaker 3: Being a doctor coat, that's a big one.
- 11:02Speaker 2: That's the scope, you know?
- 11:04Speaker 2: Oh, you know what?
- 11:06Speaker 2: Now that I'm thinking about it, you know what I saw?
- 11:08Speaker 2: I saw a chiropractor in one video.
- 11:10Speaker 2: He had a bunch of books behind him and I was like that's genius, you need a bunch of books.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Has he read any of them?
- 11:16Speaker 2: It doesn't matter.
- 11:17Speaker 2: I saw a bunch of people in the comments like I stayed and watched because of the books.
- 11:20Speaker 2: He seemed smart, oh my God.
- 11:25Speaker 2: I mean he was a chiropractor but he had doctor in his name because, you know, doctor of chiropractor fucking nonsense.
- 11:30Speaker 1: I'm looking over at my bookshelf now like, okay, I'm doing it wrong.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I've got a bunch of like like mango over there.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I don't.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I need some like fancy books, like chiropractic books and medical books, and it doesn't matter that if I've read them or not, they're there, right.
- 11:46Speaker 2: No, no, no, I'm not going to shit about that.
- 11:48Speaker 2: We need leather, bound, looking fancy and like some big words that you know, like I don't know.
- 11:54Speaker 2: On the books, maybe some big words that people don't know, Like you know.
- 11:57Speaker 2: That's what we need, and the more we do this podcast, the more we learn we're doing it wrong, Yep.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I definitely agree.
- 12:07Speaker 3: And then another one being on stage with a microphone.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Yeah oh great one.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Gary.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Brecca talks.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:16Speaker 2: The top phenomenon.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Also, coach Jeremy does a lot of those and those usually get him big, get him.
- 12:24Speaker 2: That was awkward.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Let's cut that.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Let's not cut that.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Cut that from oh getting big, now he's going to start doing those videos, he's going to do exercise videos and Everyone's going to believe him.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Oh gosh, yeah, I mean it really.
- 12:44Speaker 2: I'm just, I'm fascinated.
- 12:45Speaker 2: I would love to do just like if somebody was like you need to do some research and something like I want to do research into what makes a video go viral in, especially like in nutrition, because it's just, you know, for anyone who has a little bit of knowledge, you watch it and you're like I don't understand how people believe this, but I think a lot of it just comes down to.
- 13:06Speaker 2: It's just new and exciting, right?
- 13:07Speaker 2: Like it's different information.
- 13:09Speaker 2: It's always.
- 13:10Speaker 2: It's like if yes, tell me about, like what the good things that we need in our diet and a well balanced diet.
- 13:17Speaker 2: What do we?
- 13:18Speaker 2: What do we need?
- 13:19Speaker 3: A good amount of protein, a healthy amount of fat hit your micronutrients.
- 13:24Speaker 3: So get a lot of veggies in, oh boy.
- 13:28Speaker 2: See.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Go about one.
- 13:31Speaker 2: I needed that.
- 13:31Speaker 2: That was my alarm to wake up, because I was falling asleep on screen from you telling me all the bull, oh yeah, eat your whole grains and look goons and like vegetables.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Fuck that shit.
- 13:41Speaker 2: I want the exact opposite.
- 13:43Speaker 2: I want everything you know about nutrition is wrong and tell me what only you specifically know.
- 13:49Speaker 2: That is what gets views.
- 13:50Speaker 2: That is what is exciting.
- 13:52Speaker 3: And that's probably exactly why Karne, like the carnivore diet, blew up 100%, why it's everything that goes against what science says.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Right, because we've been saying, like you know, in general terms, like reducing red meat intake, and then they come along and say actually, guys, we have the secret, it's you.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Flip the food pyramid on the head, because you know how much everyone hates the food pyramid.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Turn it upside down and we found it in some library in Germany.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Oh, I love that.
- 14:24Speaker 3: I love that video and just like just to put the cherry on top, nobody actually really follows the food pyramid in America.
- 14:30Speaker 2: So what like even like Food pyramids, but God says to what?
- 14:33Speaker 2: 2011.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Yeah, in like 14 years is crazy.
- 14:37Speaker 3: And the new recommendations aren't bad either.
- 14:39Speaker 3: So it's like a lot, it's my plate.
- 14:44Speaker 2: You know you get your your veggies, whole grains and you know protein, whatever that is.
- 14:50Speaker 2: But you know, again, I think it's just it's too boring.
- 14:54Speaker 2: You know we need something exciting.
- 14:56Speaker 2: We need something we need.
- 14:57Speaker 2: We need to be told there's a see.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Oh, you know what Guys we know we need to talk about.
- 15:02Speaker 2: You know what we fucking need to talk about.
- 15:03Speaker 2: I just thought of it right now the whole CMOS and Sheila Jeet and like have you seen all that stuff, we and whoever everybody listening both of them just made this just collective.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Oh, I died a little on the inside.
- 15:18Speaker 2: A part of my soul has left my body.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Yeah, part of my soul did leave my body because she legit is.
- 15:24Speaker 3: She'll a shit in my opinion.
- 15:26Speaker 1: One of those Sheila's it companies actually tried to recruit me and I was like seriously, Dates are sure everyone because they don't watch your actual content.
- 15:36Speaker 2: They love your stuff.
- 15:37Speaker 2: You've never watched my stuff.
- 15:38Speaker 2: You don't want to get your product out there and and and.
- 15:42Speaker 2: The crazy thing is just, it's always like oh, it's got a hundred and seventy four minerals that your body needs.
- 15:48Speaker 2: I'm like I don't think your body has that many.
- 15:50Speaker 2: How many minerals?
- 15:51Speaker 2: How many minerals is your body?
- 15:52Speaker 1: like 15?
- 15:53Speaker 2: Like not that many Like.
- 15:55Speaker 2: There's not that many that your body need.
- 15:57Speaker 2: What the fuck?
- 15:58Speaker 2: What is it?
- 15:58Speaker 2: What, oh, I don't know.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Somebody take over about this fucking.
- 16:05Speaker 3: So, on top of only having literally one or two minerals that are so underdosed that you would have to literally eat the entire block of fucking mud, she'll like she legit is just mud.
- 16:16Speaker 3: So you would have to eat the entire fucking block to get to even like a fraction of that, not to mention all the goddamn heavy metals in it.
- 16:25Speaker 3: And it's like I've had shillage at companies reach out to me too Along with like Ashwa Gandhi and Seamaw's companies like go watch my content.
- 16:33Speaker 3: They say, ok, they don't watch my content.
- 16:37Speaker 3: They have another person, try to recruit me, go watch my content.
- 16:40Speaker 2: No, yeah, the heavy metals things always interest me because there's a lot of talk about heavy metals in dark chocolate or whatever vegetables you watch.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Uh, what's non-toxic dad?
- 16:53Speaker 1: Everything's got heavy metals in it these days, yeah.
- 16:56Speaker 2: But at the same time they make all these supplements that aren't, that are regulated and you know what are the chances there.
- 17:02Speaker 2: They have heavy metals pretty decent like that in the subway industry, Like fucking heavy metals is a huge problem.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I totally agree.
- 17:12Speaker 3: But also I feel like there's a little more nuance to.
- 17:15Speaker 3: I had this other guy.
- 17:16Speaker 3: He was trying to demonize farm rice fish and tuna for having a lot of heavy metals, which, of course, is complete bullshit, considering a wild caught fish tends to have more.
- 17:27Speaker 3: And then you got like tuna and selenium and that.
- 17:30Speaker 3: That's kind of what really intrigued me and I think that was one of the first times I saw your content was you were referencing Sarah Ballantine.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Yeah, Sarah.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Ballantine about like tuna.
- 17:40Speaker 3: I thought that was so interesting because I never knew that before then and I would you know we should tell people this, but we need to tell people now because I get a lot of questions.
- 17:48Speaker 2: I get DMs about like tuna Can I have tuna every day?
- 17:51Speaker 2: So, basically, the reason that tuna is a problem people talk about is mercury, but it's in the form of methyl mercury, which binds to selenium, which your body needs.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Now the thing is, when it comes to tuna and a lot of other fish, they're also high in selenium, so it actually, you know, it's not binding to the selenium in your body, whereas, like I think, like shark like shark has a lot.
- 18:16Speaker 2: It might have mercury, but it doesn't have.
- 18:18Speaker 1: shark is one of the highest mercury, because I think swordfish.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I think swordfish is relative to their position on the food chain.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Yeah, but even like yeah and tuna, so like it has a good amount of selenium, so you really you can have tuna like every day.
- 18:33Speaker 2: You don't actually have to worry about it for the most part.
- 18:35Speaker 2: I know there's more concern with, like, pregnant women and that sort of stuff, but for the most part, yeah, tuna, totally fine, I like tuna.
- 18:42Speaker 2: You can.
- 18:43Speaker 2: You can have all the tuna you want, it's okay.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Yeah, and I didn't know that and I was like suffering on my budget because I was, I basically thrive off like cheap protein and back then I used to eat a lot of tuna.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Now I don't need to like, I'm not suffering as much, but like back then, it would have been nice to know that.
- 19:02Speaker 3: But everybody, if you're mongered it so much, I just believed it like it was common knowledge.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, um, you know what.
- 19:08Speaker 2: But you know what Videos always get me?
- 19:10Speaker 2: The videos sort of like I need cheap protein and then they go to the dog food and I'm, like you know what, I'm intrigued, like I got to say, like you know, that's high in protein, it's so cheap.
- 19:19Speaker 2: I'm not that desperate right now, but if I was that desperate, you know, a little water, you blend it up.
- 19:25Speaker 2: I mean, if dogs can eat it, why can't humans eat it?
- 19:27Speaker 2: That's how that seems to add up those numbers.
- 19:30Speaker 2: That's to me.
- 19:34Speaker 2: That makes so much sense, but probably don't eat dog food.
- 19:39Speaker 2: I'm not, but I also won't tell you don't do it either.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Don't not do it.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Don't not do it.
- 19:45Speaker 2: I also tell you if you're on a budget.
- 19:48Speaker 2: How much crude protein is in this.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Let me take a look.
- 19:53Speaker 1: I'm not buying blue buffalo either.
- 19:55Speaker 2: That shit's too expensive.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Give me the kibbles and bits.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Oh my God.
- 20:01Speaker 3: But yeah, no, that's, that's insane, the things people do on a budget.
- 20:08Speaker 3: But like it's, it's very true and it's sad because I feel like if there was more and I was speaking to one of my nutrition teachers about this If there is more education, I feel like so many more people would be able to eat a little healthier.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Why do we transition right into that?
- 20:23Speaker 2: Fuck it.
- 20:24Speaker 2: This is our podcast.
- 20:24Speaker 2: We can do whatever we want.
- 20:25Speaker 2: So when you were on a budget and you were eating protein, what were you doing to get your protein in?
- 20:31Speaker 2: Well, still being relatively cheap, because I also get lots of questions about that.
- 20:36Speaker 3: A big ass bag of $9.
- 20:41Speaker 3: That was literally this big soybeans.
- 20:45Speaker 2: So that's a smart one that's a good one.
- 20:47Speaker 2: You get fiber as well, you get some healthy fats, you get a good amount of protein.
- 20:52Speaker 3: I think a serving of edamame is what 14 grams of protein or something, and it's not that much Like dried yellow soybeans, though, so I could make tofu with it, and that's what I usually do.
- 21:02Speaker 2: That's smart.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Yeah, guys, if you're listening, go to the Indian section.
- 21:07Speaker 2: I'm telling you.
- 21:07Speaker 2: You have a lot of grocery stores and they'll have lentils, big bags of dried red lentils.
- 21:13Speaker 2: They make awesome soups and you can blend them up and it's really high in protein and a great source of fiber.
- 21:19Speaker 2: I understand, judging by a lot of the comments I get.
- 21:22Speaker 2: People apparently eat like five grams of fiber and shit their brains out.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Like literally anytime I mention fiber, they're like if I get more than two grams in a day, I'll die out of my toilet.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I'm like what is going on with you, like have you never eaten fiber in your life?
- 21:35Speaker 3: That's so sad to hear Funny story, so I have a good time.
- 21:39Speaker 2: You died on the toilet with fiber.
- 21:43Speaker 3: I'm actually not kidding.
- 21:44Speaker 3: So I'm pretty sure I also had a gallstone, but I'm not 100% sure.
- 21:49Speaker 3: But last weekend I went to the ER for extreme stomach pain.
- 21:53Speaker 3: And you could ask Jackson about this, but they did a whole CAT scan.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Now, yes, I also did have jaundice, so I don't really know if it was that or not.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Anyways, they also said that my colon was really backed up, which was putting pressure on my kidney.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Now would you want to take a wild guess at how much fiber I had for the past week?
- 22:13Speaker 3: That week?
- 22:14Speaker 2: Wait each day.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Every day yeah.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Every day, I don't know, I'm just considering the bags of soybeans you're buying.
- 22:22Speaker 2: I'm going to guess like 70 grams.
- 22:26Speaker 3: So I eat a little different now.
- 22:27Speaker 3: I do have meats and chicken.
- 22:29Speaker 3: I don't really eat as many beans.
- 22:31Speaker 3: However, I eat a lot of high fiber, gluten-free bread.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Jackson how much fiber did I have over the course of that week?
- 22:38Speaker 2: Over the course of the week.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Like each day.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Oh, like 150 grams 50 grams 150.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Oh, 150.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Oh, gotcha.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I've done like 100, 125, and I handle it OK, but I'm very used to it.
- 22:54Speaker 2: I'm telling you, it's a double-edged sword with people.
- 22:58Speaker 2: I'm telling you, if you're listening to this and you don't get a lot of fiber, add in a small amount of fiber.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Go slow.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, maybe add in some nuts or some, I don't know.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Popcorn Like popcorn has like two or three grams for serving.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Yeah, so you get a little bit and you're not going crazy Because I see so many people like I'm going to go to the extreme wellness wraps.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I'm like that has 11 grams and you've been eating eight a day, so like you got to be fucking careful with that shit.
- 23:27Speaker 3: I mean I've been eating 100 grams a day but like the 160 pushed the limit for me.
- 23:32Speaker 3: And good Lord when I tell you that my stomach was hurting.
- 23:36Speaker 2: And I feel like the added fiber in like wraps and breads and stuff is like it can be a little harsher too than just a little foods.
- 23:43Speaker 3: You know oh yeah, 100%, especially like gluten free breads and stuff.
- 23:47Speaker 3: It's so difficult to find good gluten free bread that's not only low in calorie but also like decently tasting that I quite literally any gluten free.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Anything that's low calorie is like shit.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Tons of fiber, well, yeah, because they got to fucking bind that shit together, otherwise it's going to fall over the place.
- 24:06Speaker 2: You're going to have bread soup.
- 24:09Speaker 3: I know, but it like I literally have to watch my fiber intake now, which is so funny considering most people are trying to get more of it in.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Well, yeah, now that we're talking about fiber, I guess I should tell people try and get like generally, you want to get like 10 to 15 grams per thousand calories you eat.
- 24:24Speaker 1: So yeah, I wanted to reiterate we're talking about, like having 100 grams of fiber here.
- 24:31Speaker 1: We've all been eating fiber a lot, we're used to it.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Don't try to jump up to 100.
- 24:38Speaker 2: We have golden coltons and rectums.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Ok, everybody else, guys, you mere mortals are going to struggle.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Do not try to do 100 grams of fiber.
- 24:47Speaker 2: No 20, 25, up to 35, maybe 40.
- 24:51Speaker 2: But like you're really, once you start getting into the hundreds.
- 24:54Speaker 2: You know what's funny.
- 24:55Speaker 2: You know, OK, changing subject Guys, you know what's funny?
- 24:58Speaker 2: The hunter gatherer tribes, because we see it, with like carnivore MD, they're always like.
- 25:04Speaker 2: These people eat so much meat and everything and I'm like, if you look at like the Hadza, they eat between 100 and 150 grams of fiber a day.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Like how much meat are they?
- 25:14Speaker 2: They're just eating like tubers and shit all day long.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Like exactly.
- 25:17Speaker 1: They're so much fiber.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Like, if you think about it, if something is, if you're going out and hunting and you're getting a giant I don't know fucking elephant or something.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Yeah, sure they people, the elephants, whales, whatever they find, narwhal.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Who cares?
- 25:36Speaker 3: They get a bull or if, like you know, like a large animal, deer on a.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Zedbrust.
- 25:44Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Which is kind of a carrots, it's the entire village.
- 25:49Speaker 3: So like, realistically, you're only having a small portion of that animal because it goes towards everybody.
- 25:55Speaker 2: Right and the rest you're filling in with like fucking shit.
- 25:57Speaker 2: You forage and what not Like.
- 25:59Speaker 2: And these paleo diets are always seem to be like kind of low in fiber, like when people eat them.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Now you know today where is like the people who are actually eating them.
- 26:07Speaker 2: We're eating over a hundred grams of fiber in a day.
- 26:10Speaker 2: That's just crazy, yeah.
- 26:11Speaker 1: The carnivore crowd severely misrepresents the amount of vegetables, fruit fiber that these tribes get in their diet, Like they are getting quite a lot.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 26:25Speaker 3: And like, on top of that fiber is just it's, it's healthy for you and the more you eat of it, it changes your gut microbiome.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Exactly, yeah.
- 26:33Speaker 2: So like your gut bacteria will shift, it will become easier to eat fiber.
- 26:36Speaker 2: People always say, like I can't eat beans and I'm like that's because, like, a serving of beans has seven grams of fiber and you're like not, you're getting like 10 in a day.
- 26:44Speaker 2: So like you add this on top of that, like you're going to be fucking struggling.
- 26:48Speaker 2: So you add in, just like a little bit, give your body time, my goodness.
- 26:53Speaker 1: And one of the biggest things that again the carnivore people say is that fiber isn't necessary.
- 27:00Speaker 1: And no, it's not necessary, but it's beneficial.
- 27:06Speaker 3: And the funny part is as you hear people like Paul Saladino in the middle of grocery stores bitching about L carnitine, creatine, non essential amino acids.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Right, so it was actually yeah.
- 27:22Speaker 1: One of my favorite things about Paul Saladino is the fact that he started out and the fact that his last name salad, but he started out strict carnivore and it went so badly that he had to reintroduce fiber back in in the form of fruit.
- 27:39Speaker 2: He won't admit that it was the fiber that he needed.
- 27:41Speaker 2: But that's what he did.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Dude was telling people this is the healthiest way to eat and he's dying like a 19th century ship fucking worker Like he's dying of like scurvy and shit.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:54Speaker 2: And sort of insane.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Oh, but again, people still follow him and I find that fascinating.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Because he's a doctor.
- 28:01Speaker 1: That was on Joe Rogan.
- 28:03Speaker 2: He's a doctor and he's, you know, he's got.
- 28:05Speaker 2: He's very lean, you know, and so I think that plays a place of factor.
- 28:10Speaker 2: He also looks like his skin is leather, but I don't know, I don't care about that.
- 28:15Speaker 3: I mean, I know that Joe Rogan like he always, sometimes has these people that contradict what he believes, quote unquote every now and then Then again he'll have them on just to try to make them look bad.
- 28:26Speaker 3: But, like, one thing that I've really been thinking about was, like I really hope that one day, if I blow up enough, I can go on the Joe Rogan podcast and just completely decredited it, because everybody who goes on there for like health and like speaks to him on something he believes on, it's almost like it's just perpetuating misinformation.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Oh, for sure, when especially comes to the fucking salad man.
- 28:51Speaker 2: That dude is just oh my God, it's, it's, it's I.
- 28:56Speaker 2: He knows how to get views and he knows how to, you know, get people's attention.
- 28:59Speaker 2: I'll fucking give him that shit.
- 29:01Speaker 1: But that's another thing that's perpetuating these things.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Is people going on to these big talk shows and stuff like that getting lots of publicity and then a lot of smaller accounts that are mimicking that and repeating it?
- 29:15Speaker 1: It gets a lot of repetition.
- 29:17Speaker 1: You know what?
- 29:18Speaker 2: I saw.
- 29:18Speaker 2: I saw that like he came out with a supplement called her package and it's like ground up fallopian tubes and shit like from like pigs and whatnot, and like you do, you do I.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Uterus is seriously.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Yeah no, it's, it's, I'm 100%.
- 29:33Speaker 2: I wanted to talk about it like in a video that is so great, like oh, is it nonsense, obviously, but like it's so good for your average person.
- 29:42Speaker 2: They're like wait, I'm a woman, I have these organs.
- 29:47Speaker 2: If I eat them, that makes it better.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Like I love this.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Like it's like we're going back a couple hundred years to the idea of like miasmas and like foul smells cause disease and like yeah, we had the humors where you had like blood and black, bile and yellow bile.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Should we go back to selling leeches?
- 30:07Speaker 2: Leeches is another one.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Yeah, like I love it.
- 30:10Speaker 2: So and those things, you know, people believe they, they, they worked, I mean, and and people still believe it today and I find it fascinating.
- 30:18Speaker 2: I'm just, I'm astounded, but I also love it in a very like, very sad sort of way.
- 30:24Speaker 3: I mean, it's just like everybody wants to go back in time until they're actually back in time.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Oh God, it sounds horrible.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Oh yeah you're.
- 30:34Speaker 2: It's fucking Oregon Trail.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Your daughter just died of dysentery, like oh yeah, this is great.
- 30:40Speaker 1: There's.
- 30:40Speaker 1: There's so much romanticizing of the past.
- 30:42Speaker 1: It's ridiculous.
- 30:45Speaker 3: And the best part is they can never actually be like specific.
- 30:48Speaker 3: So like when they say, eat like your ancestors, they eat like and they're like yeah, eat like your ancestors eat raw milk and meat.
- 30:54Speaker 3: They forget to mention the little small fact that everybody technically has different ancestors and ancestors can be from different times.
- 31:02Speaker 3: So which ancestor are you talking about?
- 31:04Speaker 3: The ancestor of humans, which are a completely different species?
- 31:07Speaker 3: You can't even compare to us.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Or the ancestors of Asians, which ate soybeans, the ancestors of Europeans and Egyptians, which had a lot of grain?
- 31:15Speaker 2: Like who?
- 31:16Speaker 2: Whichever ones align with the information I'm about to give you, that's the ancestors.
- 31:20Speaker 1: I'm talking about, and usually there isn't one.
- 31:23Speaker 1: That's a lie.
- 31:24Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 31:25Speaker 2: The ones, you know, the ones that ate raw milk and only me and had six packs.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Those are the ancestors I'm talking about.
- 31:32Speaker 3: You mean the ones who drank raw milk and then Louis Pasteur ended up having to save their asses because everybody started getting sick.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Those ones yeah.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I'm telling, like I know people give shit to like all the FDA and this shit and whatnot.
- 31:46Speaker 2: But like I've looked into, like you know, I love, I love, like the history of food and man, some of the shit they did back in the day.
- 31:53Speaker 2: They would take like milk and take the cream off the top of the milk and replace it with straight up plaster.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Or was the other one cow brains?
- 32:00Speaker 2: They would blend up cow brains and put it in there because it gave it like this, this creamy look to it, and they would give that to like orphanages.
- 32:08Speaker 2: They would like literally sell that to like whoever like couldn't pay a lot.
- 32:12Speaker 2: They would.
- 32:12Speaker 2: They were to place it like and that was one of the reasons the FDA and they weren't originally the FDA.
- 32:17Speaker 2: I forget the name, it wasn't FDA first, it was something else and they became the FDA.
- 32:21Speaker 2: But yeah, then they came in and like, yeah, we can't be given like children plaster to eat and drink and so and like.
- 32:29Speaker 2: So I understand like by people have issues with them.
- 32:31Speaker 2: There's a lot of influence with like businesses and whatnot.
- 32:34Speaker 2: I totally get that.
- 32:35Speaker 2: But like, again, we're talking about going back in the past.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Shit was rough back then.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Shit was rough, yes, honestly I wouldn't be surprised.
- 32:44Speaker 3: I mean, the biggest thing about like raw milk and I feel like this hasn't been the reason I keep on like trying to like push that the same thing sometimes is because people always ignore like this one thing I'm trying to say and they'll like take it out of context or they'll reference another part of the video.
- 33:01Speaker 3: But the one thing is is that raw milk and I'm sure if you've had Morticia on the podcast she probably said the same thing but like the bacteria that's in raw milk is naturally there in a healthy cow.
- 33:14Speaker 3: So it's not like you can just, it's not like a healthy cow is going to give you good raw milk.
- 33:20Speaker 3: It's still contaminated, Right.
- 33:22Speaker 2: But, but if I eat the ground up balls of an animal, that helps my balls right, right.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Exactly, it's like like impulse, I'll do you notice he's got his package which is just ground up animal testicles.
- 33:34Speaker 2: I take those.
- 33:35Speaker 2: It helps my testicles.
- 33:36Speaker 2: I mean this is.
- 33:37Speaker 1: I don't know about you, but my ancestors took ground up testicles in a small capsule every day.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Exactly, we all have different ancestors and some, I'm sure, took those supplements.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:49Speaker 3: It's literally the same thing as she'll shit.
- 33:51Speaker 3: It's like grinding up cement, grind up balls, grind up everything, except for the things that actually, like, could potentially help you.
- 34:01Speaker 3: You know, like I don't know, fucking omega three's or omega sixes if you're deficient.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:07Speaker 3: I don't, I don't know.
- 34:09Speaker 2: Oh, it's great, but I guess we should have been to also fiber supplements decent if you want to try it, but, like, also try and get it from foods, because otherwise, you're going to get a bunch of questions about that.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Try and get it from foods.
- 34:20Speaker 3: Yeah, also, if you're trying to get more fiber in, get a giant bag of silim husk and then make pancakes with like a little silim husk with flour or something else, yeah Like incorporating it, make your own sort of like, because you know you get the high fiber wraps you can kind of do your own thing with like baking.
- 34:36Speaker 2: I kind of like you could add it to like muffins or something you know like some, like you could grind up some of that like oat bran cereal or something like one of those really high fiber cereals and you can make like muffins out of it.
- 34:45Speaker 2: That would be really cool.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I've been making these like ube pancakes with like a little silim husk, egg white protein powder and like this Scotty's gluten free whatever mix.
- 34:56Speaker 3: It is so good, it like it tastes great and it's got like what?
- 35:01Speaker 3: Forty grams of fiber.
- 35:05Speaker 2: You can make it less if you don't want to sit on the toilet for the next two weeks.
- 35:09Speaker 1: But yeah, the having things like silim husk or chia seeds or stuff like that on hand to use as ingredients in your cooking is a great way to add fiber to your meals.
- 35:21Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, definitely.
- 35:23Speaker 3: I will say I find it so funny there's people who fear monger chia seeds.
- 35:27Speaker 2: if you haven't already seen these, these people that fear monger fucking everything with water, like we can't even have water now.
- 35:32Speaker 2: It's ridiculous.
- 35:33Speaker 3: Oh, actually I think you guys did like I think Paul Saladino did a whole video on it, where he like mixed it with water as if he was like stomach acid.
- 35:41Speaker 2: Oh yeah, this is what happens in your stomach and it's like oh, my stomach is also a glass of water.
- 35:45Speaker 2: What a coincidence.
- 35:46Speaker 2: I thought everyone's was fucking.
- 35:49Speaker 2: Hey, it's so bad.
- 35:54Speaker 3: And then, then I know like you are, like the professional Bobby Flav, bullshit.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that guy is yeah, something.
- 36:02Speaker 2: But again, yeah, it all comes down to the supplements and the you know, just overpriced cod it's, it's.
- 36:10Speaker 2: So I guess the part that just honestly like bothers me the most is you know how often we hear you know, like eating healthy is expensive and totally I understand for some people in like food deserts it's.
- 36:21Speaker 2: It's a lot more difficult.
- 36:22Speaker 2: I'm not trying to downplay that at all, but I think a lot of the it's expensive to eat healthy comes from these people that sell these really expensive supplements or tell you you know you have to have pasture raised or whatever pasture raised salmon.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Yeah, oh my.
- 36:36Speaker 3: God.
- 36:37Speaker 3: And then it's like they're fucking allergic to I'm sorry for cursing they're allergic to like affordable food.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's.
- 36:47Speaker 2: That's the thing.
- 36:48Speaker 2: It's like it's always the the, the cheap things they demonize, like beans or you know whatever it is yeah.
- 36:53Speaker 2: It's never like you know, it's like it just drives me crazy Really.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Like, even in like the most recent like fish video I was talking about before, with the farm raised fish, like it's common sense that like a fish swimming in the wild where there's pollution probably has a lot of pollution, probably has more mercury, but because it's farm raised, apparently it has more mercury because I think it's just more affordable.
- 37:20Speaker 2: So I don't know it.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Just it seems like, whatever the affordable option is, how often have you seen someone made a making a video demonizing fucking caviar?
- 37:29Speaker 2: Yeah, caviar is fucking killing people.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Stop eating this.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Like no one gives a shit Like it's.
- 37:34Speaker 2: It's never frog walk Guys.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Frog was horrible for you.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Stop eating it.
- 37:38Speaker 2: No, it's always the fucking big bananas or something.
- 37:42Speaker 1: We are going to have so many people writing in about your pronunciation of foie gras.
- 37:48Speaker 2: Foie gras.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Isn't there an R in it?
- 37:53Speaker 2: Nope, there's not.
- 37:55Speaker 2: I listen, how often do I eat fucking whatever?
- 37:59Speaker 2: Gua never.
- 38:02Speaker 2: I never eat that.
- 38:03Speaker 2: I don't know I probably spell it's pronounced caviar bad too.
- 38:06Speaker 3: I don't know Caviar, oh, something you kind of say it with a stick up your ass A couple times.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 38:16Speaker 3: That's about it.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Oh gosh, pass the grape coupon please.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Oh my God.
- 38:24Speaker 3: I will say it is like in certain areas and people say like it's very difficult to eat healthy, and then they show me like I've had clients who are like I find it very hard to eat healthy they show me what they're buying and they're like all organic pasture raised.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 38:41Speaker 3: It's not expensive if you just got the conventional version.
- 38:45Speaker 1: And I have never seen one of these so-called health influencers say go check out the discount rack.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Yeah, unlike your boy, who literally lives there.
- 39:00Speaker 2: People are always asking me like, where do you find them?
- 39:01Speaker 2: Like, listen people, people listen to me.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Are you listening to me right now?
- 39:03Speaker 2: Are you listening to me right now?
- 39:04Speaker 2: Okay, they're going to try and hide it from you.
- 39:06Speaker 2: You gotta learn that shit.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Okay, you don't sit back and take this shit and pay full price like a fucking numpty.
- 39:12Speaker 2: All right, you go into the back of the store, where they're always hiding it somewhere, and they'll be like a little discount, like a little red thing or whatever, and there's all and a lot of it's like nonsense.
- 39:21Speaker 2: Like we are, I see some weird supplements and shit there all the time.
- 39:24Speaker 2: But yeah, I do find all sorts of stuff.
- 39:27Speaker 2: I found like a bunch of coffee there recently.
- 39:29Speaker 2: I was like fucking cheap coffee.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Yes, please, I'll take that.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Thank you very much.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I said this on the last time we talked about it, which was like episodes ago the discount shelf in my local Walmart.
- 39:42Speaker 1: You have to go all the way back to the baby section, pass that into where the loading docks are.
- 39:48Speaker 2: It's in front of the loading dock.
- 39:50Speaker 2: You have to answer these riddles three.
- 39:54Speaker 1: And last time I was there, there was a bag of perfectly good rice half price.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Yep, I love it yeah.
- 40:01Speaker 3: I mean, I found some like Korean barbecue seasoning back there.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Oh yeah, there's lots of seasonings, so good.
- 40:08Speaker 3: And like seasonings are usually like what Fuckin?
- 40:10Speaker 3: 499, 599.
- 40:12Speaker 3: Far too expensive for what they are.
- 40:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and I found that for $1.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Going back to the spice trade.
- 40:18Speaker 2: Shit.
- 40:18Speaker 2: I wanna see what's on it.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Shit oh.
- 40:23Speaker 3: Speaking of like expensive food, it's so like, it's so bad, like the whole entire inflation thing.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, you know what Everybody's talking about expensive, everybody right now.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Give your top three cheapest nutritious foods.
- 40:39Speaker 2: What are your top three?
- 40:40Speaker 2: Like best foods that most people can find and not then like crazy, that most people find at their store that is relatively inexpensive, I would.
- 40:49Speaker 2: I mean, if I'm gonna start, I obviously I'm gonna pick beans.
- 40:52Speaker 2: Nobody else gets beans.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Okay, I get those.
- 40:54Speaker 2: I pick them in any and all forms, dried or canned or whatever.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Those I eat them every fucking day, every day.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Well, what I actually recommend is skip the store.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Try and find a local farmer's market or somebody who's raising hens locally and get eggs from them.
- 41:16Speaker 1: They're usually like half the price that the store has.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Really I've never I've.
- 41:20Speaker 2: I always feel like farmer's markets, shit, are more expensive.
- 41:24Speaker 3: Well, usually they're like all in cash, so they can be more expensive.
- 41:27Speaker 3: Like it depends on what farmer's market you go to.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Yeah, but especially if you find somebody who's just like a local person who has a couple hens.
- 41:37Speaker 1: They usually sell the eggs because they usually, you know, keep whatever they need and then sell the rest.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Okay, so I say beans, rob says scavenger hunt, and then how do you say snitch?
- 41:53Speaker 3: So I think I would have to say quicken and eggs.
- 41:57Speaker 3: People usually demonize, like they usually in the gym community.
- 42:02Speaker 3: I know this.
- 42:02Speaker 3: They'll say stop chicken broccoli.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Oh my God, chicken broccoli and rice.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Do beef and broccoli and rice?
- 42:08Speaker 3: Because beef is so much more nutrient dense.
- 42:10Speaker 3: Now, yes, it's more nutrient dense in some aspects and it has a little more fat, but combined chicken with eggs and it's basically just as just as good, if not better, than beef and it's cheaper.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Yeah, and you can always do chicken thighs which are like a little fattier, a little more saturated fat, but as long as you're balancing it out with other things, it's well another thing for my scavenger hunt is we actually looked around and we found a supplier for that's actually a really good one right there.
- 42:42Speaker 1: I'm not kidding that, that was actually a really good one forging mushrooms, but we actually found a supplier for whole chicken.
- 42:50Speaker 1: We're getting like the entire chicken.
- 42:52Speaker 1: We have to portion up ourselves, which of course we can do.
- 42:56Speaker 1: It takes a little extra time but it saves you money if you're looking for that, and we're getting these whole chickens big ass chickens for three bucks.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Well, not everyone lives in the middle of nowhere, like Rob, where there's just all flowers and shit.
- 43:10Speaker 2: Okay, some of us live in cities.
- 43:12Speaker 2: So I'm going to say go and get yourself some oats.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Here's why.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Because I just blended up Everybody.
- 43:17Speaker 2: These people right here just saw I made this like oat mug cake again, where you just like blend up the oats.
- 43:22Speaker 2: Everybody always tell me I don't like the texture of oats.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Fine, then blend them up with some cocoa powder and some protein powder and make like a little second cake muffin thing for breakfast or you know, makes.
- 43:33Speaker 2: Just blend them up, make.
- 43:34Speaker 2: You can make oat flour and you make all sorts of things.
- 43:36Speaker 2: Oats are cheap and they're very nutritious, no matter what fucking salad man says oats are fantastic.
- 43:42Speaker 3: I love oats Um oats are bad food.
- 43:46Speaker 2: And I will eat them as such.
- 43:51Speaker 1: I'm literally here talking about going and scavenging things.
- 43:54Speaker 1: I think I correct.
- 43:56Speaker 1: I fall into the peasant category.
- 44:00Speaker 3: Damn.
- 44:00Speaker 3: Oh my God, I would suggest pumpkin too.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Oh, that's a good one, that's a good one.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Pumpkin squash.
- 44:07Speaker 2: We should say all squash, yeah, underrated, oh my.
- 44:10Speaker 3: God, by the way, have you ever tried?
- 44:12Speaker 3: This is like my love and life right here, um yeah, it is.
- 44:19Speaker 3: It's an Asian pumpkin.
- 44:21Speaker 3: They're called kabocha.
- 44:22Speaker 3: Whoever is on this lot like podcast right now?
- 44:25Speaker 3: Go, go, look at, it's like a better version of a pumpkin.
- 44:30Speaker 2: I saw many brownies out of those.
- 44:31Speaker 2: I wanted to try it.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Where do you get that?
- 44:33Speaker 2: Where you get that?
- 44:34Speaker 3: Um, you can get these at like Asian markets or like Latin markets.
- 44:39Speaker 3: They usually sell under like what is it called?
- 44:41Speaker 3: Call a bossa or something Asian.
- 44:44Speaker 3: It's called Asian pumpkin or kabocha squash.
- 44:48Speaker 3: Kabocha, it's like one of my favorite.
- 44:51Speaker 3: I make French toast with it, Like I would suggest you know what you should try the French toast one.
- 44:55Speaker 3: It's really good.
- 44:57Speaker 1: It's like butter it's.
- 45:00Speaker 3: it's like a sweet potato and a pumpkin had a baby.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Nice yeah.
- 45:04Speaker 1: On the note of brownies out of squash and stuff, I've literally just knocked over a thing of chips.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Don't mind me.
- 45:14Speaker 2: We're talking about your dishes, foods and your garbage over there In moderation food.
- 45:20Speaker 1: I'm having chips in moderation.
- 45:22Speaker 1: I've got a bag of chips and I've also got a closet that is full of squash that we harvested because, again, you know, got to do the scavenger hunting.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Um, and I you know what.
- 45:35Speaker 1: I quickly want to say.
- 45:36Speaker 1: Like I come from, you know people that like, not people that like but a background of enjoying harvesting food and growing food, hunting, fishing, all these things.
- 45:52Speaker 1: I really want to drive home that that is not necessary, it's an option, it's an option I enjoy.
- 46:01Speaker 1: It's an option that Liam wouldn't enjoy.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Listen.
- 46:05Speaker 1: I'm not putting together IKEA furniture.
- 46:07Speaker 2: You think I'm gonna go out and fucking forage for mushrooms and shit.
- 46:11Speaker 2: I would die.
- 46:12Speaker 2: I would die immediately.
- 46:13Speaker 2: I go grocery store, I buy cheap food, I eat.
- 46:17Speaker 3: By the way, Rob, I really wanted to ask this.
- 46:19Speaker 3: I know maybe it's like I don't know If there's these giant mushrooms they're called puffball mushrooms.
- 46:25Speaker 3: I've never found one.
- 46:27Speaker 3: I've always wanted to try to find one and make a puffball pizza out of it.
- 46:30Speaker 3: It's a dream of mine because they're so giant and satisfying looking.
- 46:35Speaker 3: And if anybody knows, like, where to find puffball mushrooms, just DM me please.
- 46:42Speaker 1: Puffball.
- 46:42Speaker 1: I imagine that my girlfriend would know.
- 46:46Speaker 1: I have never, unfortunately she's, I don't know, at work or something, so I can't ask her at the moment.
- 46:52Speaker 1: But I was saying I've got a closet full of squash here and she'll take that and make muffins, make cupcakes, make brownies.
- 47:00Speaker 1: Yeah try that.
- 47:02Speaker 2: I'm gonna try that and put it in a video.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Anyway, last one I'm just gonna say is bananas part like this I like them, but mostly because Rob hates them.
- 47:07Speaker 1: So I hate you right now, so I'm just one, exactly.
- 47:09Speaker 1: And as they're disgusting bananas.
- 47:11Speaker 2: I love bananas, they're so.
- 47:13Speaker 2: I like raspberries or blackberries, they're just fucking pricey man, especially when you buy them freshly frozen.
- 47:19Speaker 2: It's a little cheaper, but God they're like.
- 47:21Speaker 2: I only buy berries when they're like three for $4 or something like that.
- 47:25Speaker 2: That's the only time I'm buying berries when they're fresh.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Meanwhile we've got a couple of raspberry bushes outside.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Yeah fucking yeah.
- 47:33Speaker 2: I know you're fucking fucking rabbits and you got bushes of fucking fruit shit out there.
- 47:39Speaker 2: That's cool, you know all these people growing chickens around you.
- 47:41Speaker 2: I live in a city, okay.
- 47:43Speaker 3: We got that.
- 47:44Speaker 3: Oh my God, get rabbit, because I always wanted to have some, because I've my Italian side has made like one dish with rabbit and it was like covered in like this sauce.
- 47:57Speaker 3: So I never actually got a chance to taste it.
- 47:58Speaker 3: So I'm sure it doesn't startation.
- 48:01Speaker 2: Is it because rabbit like you die?
- 48:03Speaker 2: If you were only in rabbit?
- 48:04Speaker 2: What's up with that?
- 48:05Speaker 2: It's missing something, and you guys, less protein is missing, the type of oh, it's missing.
- 48:09Speaker 3: It's not a complete protein, like it's not like it's not too much protein, like it's literally just protein basically.
- 48:15Speaker 3: So if you only ate rabbit, you would miss out on a lot of fat.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Oh, is that?
- 48:20Speaker 2: What the problem is Is the lack of fat in that's what.
- 48:24Speaker 3: that's what I remember hearing, at least Huh.
- 48:27Speaker 2: I feel like I'm going to have to look into this more.
- 48:28Speaker 2: I don't know, guys, on this podcast, we just say things that come to our mind.
- 48:31Speaker 2: We don't know shit.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Anyway, what else you guys are going on?
- 48:36Speaker 3: I found some recent sugar free Reese's chocolate chip things.
- 48:40Speaker 3: I feel like they would do really well in your oatmeal thing.
- 48:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I like butterfinger bits they're ground up butterfingers and I like things that stick to my teeth, like I like like jujee fruits and dots and things that just like permanently sticking your teeth for the next two months.
- 48:55Speaker 2: That's, that's right.
- 48:57Speaker 3: My dentist would hate you.
- 48:58Speaker 3: Oh, most people hate me, including dentists, but I still like anyway, oh my God, I like crunchy stuff, so the crunchy or creamy, that sounded weird.
- 49:14Speaker 2: I hear you're a creamy person, I'm a salty person.
- 49:16Speaker 2: We'll just go.
- 49:21Speaker 1: I mean, while these are things I can't forage for, so I don't know what they are.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Yeah, diet, soda up there, Get out of here.
- 49:29Speaker 3: Oh, your diet soda.
- 49:32Speaker 2: I just finished off.
- 49:33Speaker 2: It's maybe some of my favorite, but Dr Pepper cream soda man, this is good.
- 49:38Speaker 2: I've been drinking it recently.
- 49:40Speaker 1: See, I'm going to go visit you just to sample all of your diet sodas.
- 49:45Speaker 2: There's a lot of them.
- 49:45Speaker 2: There's too many?
- 49:46Speaker 2: No, there's not too many, there's not enough.
- 49:48Speaker 1: But so I'm going to have to book like a month to be drinking a lot of diet soda.
- 49:53Speaker 1: You're probably going to answer from all the aspartame.
- 49:56Speaker 1: And then we can drive up to snitch and just have a party.
- 50:02Speaker 3: Oh my God.
- 50:03Speaker 3: So uh shoot.
- 50:06Speaker 3: I was blanking out for a second.
- 50:07Speaker 3: What's your favorite diet soda again, oh my goodness.
- 50:10Speaker 2: I probably say like Sun Kiss or A&W Zero, like one of those.
- 50:14Speaker 2: Those are really good Root beer.
- 50:16Speaker 2: I like root beer.
- 50:18Speaker 3: Fanta zero for me.
- 50:20Speaker 2: I don't know if I've had Fanta zero.
- 50:22Speaker 2: I don't know if I can't have seen that around.
- 50:25Speaker 2: You got Rob.
- 50:26Speaker 2: We know you have some weird lemonade shit.
- 50:28Speaker 2: Nobody cares.
- 50:29Speaker 1: I know I've got some weird lemon lemonade, whatever, nobody, that's nothing.
- 50:34Speaker 2: That's you got Canada stuff.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it's.
- 50:36Speaker 1: It's the weirdest thing.
- 50:37Speaker 1: It's called president's choice and we always assume that it was an American thing because it's president's choice.
- 50:43Speaker 2: No you, when you're in another country, you name it after something else in a different country, so people think it's like fancy or weird or different.
- 50:49Speaker 1: Apparently, yeah, I like.
- 50:51Speaker 1: For the longest time I had no idea that was a Canadian brand.
- 50:55Speaker 2: I'm going to come out with something to call it Queens choice or something.
- 50:58Speaker 2: There you go.
- 50:58Speaker 2: I'm sure people were like, oh yeah.
- 51:01Speaker 1: That instantly made me think of drag queen, so whatever.
- 51:05Speaker 2: I'm going to hit all the markets, don't matter, there you go.
- 51:07Speaker 2: Listen, it's.
- 51:11Speaker 2: We've been doing this for almost an hour.
- 51:12Speaker 2: It's fucking brain is turning to mush now.
- 51:14Speaker 2: My throat's already fucking horse.
- 51:16Speaker 2: I've been yelling.
- 51:18Speaker 3: Oh, my God, I'm just.
- 51:20Speaker 3: I am so tired.
- 51:21Speaker 3: I have like been staying up for like Lord knows too late, to fucking late, and then, on top of that, the lab has been like killing me.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it was.
- 51:32Speaker 3: It was interesting.
- 51:32Speaker 3: I was learning how to like what was.
- 51:35Speaker 3: It is like.
- 51:36Speaker 3: Um, it was like mutagenesis and the computer wasn't working.
- 51:41Speaker 3: So we sat there for like four hours just trying to get the like NCBI to work and I was just like no yeah.
- 51:50Speaker 2: So, basically, to wrap it up at the end don't listen to shirtless people in grocery stores.
- 51:54Speaker 2: Don't listen to chiropractors to tell you nutrition advice.
- 51:57Speaker 2: Don't listen to a big man with muscle Do crazy thing, tell you you get big and eat your fiber and focus on like affordable foods.
- 52:06Speaker 2: Guys, come on.
- 52:08Speaker 1: Yep.
- 52:09Speaker 3: Come on Shit.
- 52:10Speaker 1: And so snitch, if people want to find you and watch you sludge through your lab work and learn some more about fancy science things, where would they find you?
- 52:22Speaker 3: Um, to sludge through my lab work, it would be my other account, which is just the X, h, e, m, I S T for scientific stuff, uh, scientific snitch, and that's.
- 52:35Speaker 3: That's basically it, and I'm the top one on both.
- 52:40Speaker 1: So well, okay then, and you should also be plugging your.
- 52:44Speaker 1: You've got a supplement company, so I mean, come on.
- 52:47Speaker 2: I sell supplements what I didn't even want to talk about it on this podcast because you guys shit on supplements, so much so I didn't even want to bring it up.
- 52:56Speaker 3: FYI, like the ras, did you try the raspberry white chocolate one?
- 52:59Speaker 3: Yet If it came in?
- 53:00Speaker 3: I really hope it did, Cause I sent it?
- 53:02Speaker 1: Do you say it is not made it?
- 53:04Speaker 1: When did you send it?
- 53:07Speaker 3: I sent it months ago.
- 53:09Speaker 1: So that's stuck yeah.
- 53:11Speaker 1: I hope customs didn't seize it.
- 53:15Speaker 3: I hope so.
- 53:16Speaker 3: Oh man, I have to send you some then, but it's, it is insanely good Like I drink it as my coffee now, cause it's just like it's.
- 53:25Speaker 3: You wouldn't think a raspberry white chocolate pre-workout tastes good, but it is.
- 53:28Speaker 3: It hits different.
- 53:31Speaker 1: I like I am not even sure what to think about that yet, until I get to taste it Like raspberry white chocolate.
- 53:40Speaker 3: I know you wouldn't think it works, but with like a little bit of almond milk it really does work, for some reason.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Yeah, you make your bean pre-workout.
- 53:49Speaker 2: Make sure you send it to me, okay, cause I want to try that one.
- 53:53Speaker 3: I'm making a taro bubble tea one, if that works.
- 53:57Speaker 2: I guess that's probably better than kidney bean flavored, but I still go with the latter.
- 54:02Speaker 1: I mean, that is my favorite bubble tea flavor.
- 54:04Speaker 3: So chocolate one.
- 54:08Speaker 1: But yeah, I've got two tubs here of the tropical punch, one are empty and I've been like need something to get me going in the morning again.
- 54:19Speaker 3: I'm so sad it didn't make it through customs.
- 54:21Speaker 1: Yeah, that does suck.
- 54:23Speaker 3: Yeah, the new non.
- 54:25Speaker 3: Like the non-stem so non-caffeinated one I'm coming out with.
- 54:28Speaker 3: We were thinking about doing chocolate peanut butter, but then we changed it to chocolate hazelnut.
- 54:32Speaker 3: So I'm sorry, liam, but I guess.
- 54:38Speaker 2: Guys, listen, let me run for a second.
- 54:39Speaker 2: I'm so done with chocolate, peanut butter, everything.
- 54:43Speaker 2: I just want peanut butter.
- 54:44Speaker 2: Hey, guess what, guys?
- 54:46Speaker 2: If I want chocolate, I can just add cocoa to it.
- 54:49Speaker 2: What?
- 54:49Speaker 2: If I don't want chocolate, I can't remove it from your product, can I know?
- 54:53Speaker 1: That's an excellent point.
- 54:54Speaker 2: Jesus, can you just make a goddamn peanut butter flavored thing, make it nutter butters or whatever, I don't care, I don't want anything peanut butter and I will just add cocoa if I like.
- 55:04Speaker 2: Thank you very much.
- 55:05Speaker 2: Done with my message.
- 55:07Speaker 2: Good night, liam.
