- 0:01Luke chapter 4. Let us pray.
- 0:06Heavenly Father, we thank you, Lord Jesus, for your holy
- 0:10scriptures. Lord, we thank you for the full
- 0:13counsel of your word. We thank you, God, that you've
- 0:16given us truth to stand upon. We thank you, God, that you've
- 0:21given us our marching orders, that you've given us our
- 0:25purpose, that you've given us your plan for the ages.
- 0:28For now, and for right now, and for such a time as this, God,
- 0:32help us to walk in obedience to your Scriptures.
- 0:36Help us, God, to understand all of your eternal truths, Lord,
- 0:41from everlasting. Thank you, God, that you have
- 0:44promised us a home there with you, that you have gone to
- 0:48prepare a place for us. Thank you, God, for the
- 0:51indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Thank you, God, that you've
- 0:54given us the mind of Christ. Thank you, God, that all of your
- 0:57wrath was satisfied at the foot of the cross.
- 1:00Thank you, God, for the blood being spilled that covers us.
- 1:04Thank you, God, for ripping the veil from top to bottom so that
- 1:08we can come in and to dine with you and up with you, God.
- 1:12Thank you, Lord, for all of the many blessings that you've
- 1:16already given us today. Lord, we thank you for family.
- 1:21We thank you, Lord, for all of the things that you've done.
- 1:26Lord, we thank you for marriage. Lord, we thank you for our
- 1:29abilities. We thank You for the ability to
- 1:34come and to reason and to think and amuse and to meditate, God,
- 1:39upon these truths. So, Lord, speak to us loudly.
- 1:43Speak to us boldly. Whisper that still small voice
- 1:47to us, Father, and help us to identify.
- 1:50Help us to obey it. Help us, Lord, to listen.
- 1:54Help us to be students of Your Word.
- 1:57God. Nothing added and nothing taken
- 2:01away. Unadulterated.
- 2:03God the pure word. Father, give to us today.
- 2:06Holy Spirit, you be our teacher and Holy Spirit, you be our
- 2:10guide. And I get out of the way and
- 2:12it's all about you. King.
- 2:13Jesus has always been about you and it will always be about you.
- 2:17So I say yes and Amen. We say yes and Amen to all of
- 2:21the promises contained in this book.
- 2:23Father, help us, Lord, help us today, be right here beside us
- 2:29and show us what it is that you want us to know today for today.
- 2:35Thank you God, for today. And it's in Jesus Christ, holy
- 2:39precious name, but I pray, Amen. Let's start in verse one.
- 2:50And Jesus, being full of the Holy Ghost, returned from Jordan
- 2:57and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.
- 3:01So here we know that Jesus was just baptized, and God had said
- 3:07he was well pleased, and this spirit, like a dove, had
- 3:12descended. And we know that Jesus is full
- 3:16of the Holy Ghost, and he's going to be tempted and to get
- 3:20back with old Adam lost. And look at how Jesus is so good
- 3:27as the Son of God and as our Savior.
- 3:31And he knows that he's about to be tempted, and he knows that
- 3:36he's about his Father's business.
- 3:38Verse 2 being 40 days tempted of the devil.
- 3:42And in those days he did eat nothing.
- 3:45And when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
- 3:49So Luke, who is the physician here, Luke is writing and he's
- 3:54writing about a condition that would to be close to death.
- 4:03There is some starvation happening here after 40 days of
- 4:08eating nothing. Luke, as the doctor writing
- 4:13would know what this is doing to the human body.
- 4:17And we know that Jesus was all man and all God, and Jesus
- 4:22resisted and tapping in to the divinity, and he felt all the
- 4:27things that you and I will ever feel.
- 4:29And he was in the complete sense, He was starving to death
- 4:35in this moment. 3 And the devil said unto him, If you be the Son
- 4:41of God, command the stone that it be made bread.
- 4:47So here the devil's coming in, and he's saying, are you really
- 4:52the Son of God? Since you are the Son of God,
- 4:55why are you starving like this? Just go ahead and make these
- 5:00stones into bread. You have the power to do so.
- 5:05For in Jesus answered him saying, it is written that man
- 5:10shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
- 5:15Friends, here's the thing about it.
- 5:17There's this time coming where we're going to have the option
- 5:23of the mark of the beast and you will not be able to buy or sell
- 5:26anything without receiving it. And you're going to have to make
- 5:30a tough decision. Is your physical well-being more
- 5:35important than your spiritual well-being?
- 5:39And that is what is being presented here in this moment,
- 5:42is that the devil is saying, hey, satisfy your physical
- 5:48needs. And Jesus is saying, no, your
- 5:52spiritual needs far supersede any of your physical needs,
- 5:58friends. And you've got to get to a place
- 6:02where your bread and your water is Christ.
- 6:08And we've got to get to a place where we can stiff arm all of
- 6:13the things of this world, including our own safety
- 6:17friends, our own well-being friends.
- 6:19We've got to get to a place where Jesus is enough and then
- 6:24watch how once you get there, all of your physical needs are
- 6:28met. But if we are so in tune with
- 6:36our bodies, we're going to be out of tune with the Spirit of
- 6:41God. And look at how when the
- 6:43disciples came back and Jesus was waiting at the well and he
- 6:46had revealed himself as the water that when you would, if
- 6:54you drank, you would never go thirsty to the Samaritan woman,
- 6:58this living water. Look at how the disciples said
- 7:02here, eat. And he said, I have food that
- 7:04you know nothing about. And here, this is what Jesus has
- 7:08tapped into. He's tapped into that bread that
- 7:12you know nothing about. And he was full of the Spirit.
- 7:17And here he countered the enemy with the word of God, and he
- 7:22used nothing that is unavailable to you and to me.
- 7:25Friends, being filled with the Spirit and having the full
- 7:29counsel of God's Word is all that we need to resist the
- 7:33devil. Five And the devil, taking him
- 7:42up into a high mountain, showed unto him all the kingdoms of the
- 7:47world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said unto him, All
- 7:52this power I will give you, and the glory of them, for that is
- 7:59delivered unto me, and to whomsoever I will give it. 7 If
- 8:05you therefore will worship me all, all shall be yours.
- 8:12Very interesting. Few passages here and we can see
- 8:16how Adam squandered the inheritance back in the garden
- 8:20and look at how Jesus won it back for us in a desert.
- 8:25Look at how Adam had all of the beauty and luxury in the garden
- 8:30and he squandered it. And look at how the Son of Man
- 8:34came and was let out into the wilderness, out into the desert,
- 8:39and was hungry. And so many of us have full
- 8:42bellies, but we do not have a full spirit of God.
- 8:48And here Jesus was emptied in his belly, but full of the
- 8:52Spirit of God. And we would do well, friends,
- 8:56to fast and to pray and to watch how it moves God and it moves
- 9:04the spiritual realm, friends, whenever we will fast and pray.
- 9:08And some things only go out that way.
- 9:10And we would do well to tap into that from time to time.
- 9:14Friends, as the Spirit leads you, we do not need to be
- 9:18gluttonous. We do not need to forsake the
- 9:22spiritual realm for our physical needs.
- 9:25And here Satan is showing Jesus that he has the power to give
- 9:35him all the things that Adam lost.
- 9:39Adam gave them up this dominion, but Jesus won it back for us.
- 9:43And when you are full of the Spirit of God, when you have the
- 9:47Holy Spirit leading you, you can take back dominion.
- 9:50Friends, it's dominion that was lost.
- 9:54And Satan here is trying to get Jesus to worship him.
- 10:00And Jesus knows better. Even though he's all God, he is
- 10:04all man. And here he sees through the
- 10:09lies of the enemy. And we need to do the same.
- 10:12When the enemy tries to tell us that we can have glory without
- 10:15the suffering, we need to stiff arm him and tell him to get
- 10:20behind us. In the name of Jesus, get thee
- 10:24behind me, Satan. In the name of Jesus, he must
- 10:28flee. Friends, look at what Jesus did
- 10:31for us here at this time. And we know that the devil is
- 10:37the Prince of the air. We know that he has sway over so
- 10:43much here, But we do not give him any kind of accolades.
- 10:48We give him no kind of gossip. We focus our eyes upon the Lord
- 10:56Jesus Christ, and we watch how that darkness flees. 8 And Jesus
- 11:04answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan, for it is
- 11:09written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only
- 11:14shall you serve. That is what we need to do to
- 11:18defeat the enemy. Tell him to get behind you.
- 11:21Remind him of his finality. Remind him of his end.
- 11:27Remind him that he has no part in your life, that in the name
- 11:32of Jesus he must flee. This Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus
- 11:37the Branch, Jesus our Christ, Jesus the Anointed, Jesus the
- 11:42Son of God, Jesus the Most High, Jesus our Father, Jesus our
- 11:51Lord, Jesus our everything. Remind the enemy who you serve,
- 11:58remind him of his end and watch how he flees from you.
- 12:03Bring that name upon your lips today.
- 12:06The name of Jesus Christ, Jesus of Nazareth.
- 12:11Bring that name upon your lips, and watch how the darkness
- 12:14flees. 9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a
- 12:20pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If you be the Son of
- 12:25God, cast yourself down from here.
- 12:28For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over you to
- 12:32keep you, 11 And in their hands they shall bear you up, lest at
- 12:37any time you shall dash your foot against the stone.
- 12:40So here it is as if Satan is trying to get Jesus to commit
- 12:45suicide, Jesus to throw himself down from there, Jesus to kill
- 12:49himself. And it would have ended all of
- 12:53the ministry right then and there.
- 12:55And Jesus being hungered, I'm sure, was weak in this moment.
- 13:01And he has resisted him and resisted him.
- 13:04He's full of the Holy Spirit, even though he is empty in his
- 13:08stomach. And he has the knowledge of the
- 13:11Word of God because he is the Word of God.
- 13:14And look at what he tells them, he And here Satan is trying to
- 13:18twist Scripture. And it's just like in the garden
- 13:21whenever the serpent came and whispered in Eve's ear and tries
- 13:25to twist God's words. And if you go back and read that
- 13:30account, you can see just how twisted it is.
- 13:33And then look at here how Satan has been studying God's Word.
- 13:37God gave Satan his playbook and he's still going to outpace him.
- 13:41And there is no battle between Satan God.
- 13:45God is omnipotent. And Satan is just being used to
- 13:49what? To bring out the evil intentions
- 13:52of the heart of man, of all the things that we store up.
- 13:56And we might look the part on the outside, but it's ravenous
- 14:00wolves on the inside. And be careful, friends.
- 14:03Be careful of those who lead you astray.
- 14:06And we need to know this word of God.
- 14:08We need to study this word of God because look at how Satan
- 14:12tries to even take the word of God, God and twist it.
- 14:15And just because somebody claims that they know the word of God,
- 14:20you need to be able to discern it and be like the Bereans and
- 14:24go back and check the Scripture. Because here Satan is using
- 14:28Scripture out of context. And we need to know the full
- 14:31counsel of God's Word from Genesis to Revelation so that we
- 14:35can stand firm against the attacks of the enemy.
- 14:40And here you can see how the devil is even trying to use
- 14:45God's Word to get the Christ to get Jesus to throw himself off
- 14:53of this pinnacle. Look at what Jesus says in verse
- 14:5912. And Jesus answering, said unto
- 15:01him, It is said, You shall not tempt the Lord your God.
- 15:09Wow. So Satan was trying to get him
- 15:13to throw himself down, saying that God would hold him up and
- 15:17not let him die and hear. Jesus uses Scripture to counter
- 15:24Satan's twisting of Scripture. And that is what we need to do.
- 15:29Friends, we would do very well to keep ourselves on guard, to
- 15:33study the real things so that you can see when the counterfeit
- 15:36comes across. 13 And when the devil had ended all the
- 15:41temptation, he departed from him for a season.
- 15:46Resist the devil. He will flee from you until
- 15:52another opportune time. Don't think that just because
- 15:54you beat him, he's done forever. We need to be on guard.
- 15:59And he's so subtle and sly and how he comes in and he sprinkles
- 16:04a little bit of truth in with the lie.
- 16:08And you would do well to look for those calling cards that the
- 16:12enemy leaves, because he always leaves his dirty handprints, his
- 16:18dirty tricks. He always leaves just enough for
- 16:21you to discover it. If you are in tune with the
- 16:25spirit of the Lord, if the Spirit of the Lord is full in
- 16:29you, you will not be duped. You will not be LED astray.
- 16:33You will not be tricked with the enemy's schemes.
- 16:38He leaves just enough of a calling card for you to be able
- 16:41to identify the lies that are sprinkled in to the truth.
- 16:46Friends 14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into
- 16:52Galilee, and there went out a fame of him through all the
- 16:56region round about. 15 And he taught in their synagogues,
- 17:00being glorified of all. So here you can see that Jesus
- 17:04is returning to Galilee. You can see that Jesus is being
- 17:08asked to speak as a guest speaker in the synagogues.
- 17:14Let's see what happens. 16 And he came to Nazareth, where he
- 17:21had been brought up, and as his custom was, he went into the
- 17:26synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up for to read.
- 17:33So here he's being asked to read in the synagogue of his own
- 17:38hometown. 17 And there was delivered unto him the book of
- 17:44the prophet Isaiah. And when he had opened the book,
- 17:48he found the place where it was written. 18 The Spirit of the
- 17:57Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel
- 18:05to the poor. He has sent me to heal the
- 18:09broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and
- 18:15recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them
- 18:22that are bruised, 19 to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
- 18:32So verse 18 and 19 was taken out of the book of Isaiah and here
- 18:37he stopped exactly where he needed to because the very next
- 18:42part of this verse in Isaiah talks about the vengeance of the
- 18:48Lord. So there is this comma here and
- 18:51he stopped exactly where he was supposed to because we are in
- 18:55the acceptable year of the Lord, that which is grace, friends.
- 18:59And when Jesus comes back in his second advent, he's not going to
- 19:03be meek and mild. He is going to be the Lion of
- 19:08Judah. He is coming back roaring with
- 19:10the two edged sword from his mouth to devour the enemy's
- 19:14friends. And that is what we all would do
- 19:19well to remember, that when Jesus Christ comes back, he is
- 19:25coming back as the rightful ruler.
- 19:30Friends, for 1000 year, reign 20.
- 19:37And he closed the book and he gave it again to the minister
- 19:42and sat down. And the eyes of all them that
- 19:46were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
- 19:50So here he's claiming that the book of Isaiah was written about
- 19:56him. He is the one who the Spirit of
- 20:01the Lord is upon. He is the one who is anointed to
- 20:06preach the gospel to the poor. He is the one that has been sent
- 20:10to heal the broken hearted. He is the one who has been sent
- 20:15to preach deliverance to the captives.
- 20:18He is the One. That has been sent to recover
- 20:21the sight of the blind. He is the one that was sent to
- 20:26set at liberty them that are bruised.
- 20:30And He is the one that was sent to preach the acceptable year of
- 20:36the Lord and to start this covenant of grace that we are in
- 20:44friends, to start this time period of grace that we are in
- 20:50friends. It all started when Jesus came,
- 20:55and when he gave his life as a ransom and suffered the death of
- 21:00a criminal on a cross between two thieves, and whenever he was
- 21:05laid in the tomb, and when he was resurrected back to life and
- 21:10when he appeared to many and then ascended to the right hand
- 21:14of God, You and I, we were able to house the Holy Spirit inside
- 21:20of us, and we were sent out to go and proclaim the good news of
- 21:27Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth.
- 21:29And here we are in this acceptable year of the Lord.
- 21:32Don't miss it, friends. 21 And he began to say unto them, This
- 21:39day Scripture fulfilled in your ears.
- 21:42What an amazing claim that Jesus is claiming to be the one that
- 21:50Isaiah wrote about. Let's see how they receive it.
- 21:5522 In all bear him witness. And wondered at the gracious
- 22:00words which proceeded out of his mouth.
- 22:05And they? Said, Is not this Joseph's son?
- 22:10They almost had it. They were amazed.
- 22:14They were absolutely amazed. And then doubt crept in.
- 22:23And it's no different for you, friend.
- 22:25It's no different for me friend. We get amazed.
- 22:30At What God Can Do and we get amazed at how grand God is.
- 22:37And then? We look down at the bills piling
- 22:39up and we look down at our failing health, and we look down
- 22:45at all of the troubles of this life.
- 22:50And we forget. And we take our eyes off of how
- 22:53amazing God is and what he can do.
- 22:58And we forget that God is omnipotent and can do anything.
- 23:05And here they immediately went into their own thoughts to say,
- 23:11Is this not Joseph's son? They were familiar with them,
- 23:16and that familiarity bred contempt here, Friends 23 He
- 23:22said unto them, You will surely say unto me this proverb,
- 23:27Physician, heal yourself. Whatever we.
- 23:31Have heard, done in Capernaum, do also hear in your country. 24
- 23:38And he said, truly, I say unto you, no prophet is accepted in
- 23:42his own country. So here verse 23, verse 24, he's
- 23:49telling them, whether you accept me as the Savior, whether you
- 23:54accept me as the Messiah doesn't change anything.
- 24:00He is the Messiah, whether they were familiar with Him or not.
- 24:05And as we get 2000 years removed from the cross of Christ, as we
- 24:11get 2000 years down the road and we're closer today than we were
- 24:15yesterday to His second return to the rapture of the church, as
- 24:20we get 2000 years removed from this moment.
- 24:24Friends, it would be easy to become too familiar with Jesus
- 24:29and think that it's all just a joke and to use His name as a
- 24:34byword. And that is what has happened
- 24:37and that is what is happening. And here He is telling you that
- 24:41do not be surprised when it's your own kinsman and your own
- 24:46family that ridicule you when you're trying to walk in the
- 24:50spirit of the Lord. 25 but. I tell you of the truth, many
- 24:57widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven
- 25:02was shut up. Three years, six months, with
- 25:04great famine was throughout all the land. 26 But unto none of
- 25:09them was Elijah sent, except unto SEPTA, a city of Sidon,
- 25:15unto a woman that was a widow. So here.
- 25:19He's telling these Jews, he's telling these Israelites, he's
- 25:24telling them that when Elijah was with them, he went and
- 25:30ministered unto a Gentile. 27 and many.
- 25:36Lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and
- 25:41none of them was cleansed except Naman the Syrian.
- 25:46Here again he points out two different instances where the
- 25:51prophets of God came true prophets of the Lord, and they
- 25:58left out of Israel and ministered unto Gentiles.
- 26:02And you can see God's infinite plan for the ages that He is for
- 26:06the whole world. Yes, He loves the Jews, yes they
- 26:10are His chosen people, but God's plan is for the whole world and
- 26:18Jesus here knows it and he's telling them don't miss it.
- 26:22That's what he's telling them don't miss it. 28 And all they
- 26:27in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled
- 26:30with wrath. 29 and. Rose up and thrust him out of
- 26:36the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill where on their
- 26:40city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.
- 26:44So here this is what they would do right before they stoned
- 26:48someone, as they would take him somewhere and push him off, and
- 26:51once he fell to the ground they would pelt him with the stones.
- 26:56But it was not yet his time. 30 but he.
- 27:01Passing through the midst of them went his way.
- 27:03It's easy for Jesus, friends. It's easy.
- 27:09For him, look at how filled with indignation they were, and wrath
- 27:14and anger, and look at how they put their hands on them to take
- 27:18them to the edge of the hill. And look at how Jesus passes
- 27:24through easily unscathed. Friends, it's easy for him and.
- 27:31When we're. Tapped into the power source
- 27:34when we're plugged in, when we're connected to the Vine,
- 27:37friends, don't be surprised. When you defy.
- 27:43The physical, don't be surprised, friends.
- 27:48Whenever you're able to escape unharmed and you look back and
- 27:54you say, wow, how did that even happen?
- 27:58And it is because you're moving in the power and the spirit of
- 28:01God Almighty. And do you not know that you are
- 28:04the temple of the Lord? And do you not know that you
- 28:07will judge the world? And do you not know that you
- 28:09will judge the angels? We would do well to remember who
- 28:14we serve and who we belong to. It's easy for him. 31 and came
- 28:22down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the
- 28:26Sabbath days. 32. And they were astonished at his
- 28:32doctrine, for His word was with power.
- 28:36Praise God. Hallelujah.
- 28:37The whole word of God is with power.
- 28:40There's not one syllable, jot or title that's contained from
- 28:44Genesis to Revelation. Nothing added and nothing taken
- 28:47away. There is nothing in this book
- 28:50that is without power. His word never returns.
- 28:53Void, Friends 33 And in the synagogue there was a man which
- 28:59had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud
- 29:03voice, 34 saying, Let us alone, what have we to do with you?
- 29:09You, Jesus of Nazareth, are you come to destroy us?
- 29:13I know you who you are, the Holy One of God.
- 29:18So here this demon recognized that Jesus is the Holy One of
- 29:25God, that he had all authority and all power.
- 29:29And you can see here how the demons work, how the unclean
- 29:35foul spirits work. They know that their time is
- 29:38coming, and they know that they only have a short time to do
- 29:43what it is that they're doing, which is revealing the hearts of
- 29:46men and revealing the evil intents within men.
- 29:50They know that they are here for a very short amount of time and
- 29:55that the judgment is awaiting them, and they will be cast in
- 30:00to the Lake of Fire forever, to be done away with, to be
- 30:06completely removed from the scene which will bring about the
- 30:12peace that you and I so desperately desire when the
- 30:16tempter is taken out of the way, when you and I get to go into
- 30:20the New Jerusalem, to be with him forevermore.
- 30:23And he is the temple and the light in that place.
- 30:26And there's no more disease and no more tears, friends.
- 30:30And we look forward to that day. And these demons know that their
- 30:33time is short. 35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold your
- 30:40peace and come out of him. He has all authority.
- 30:43Friends, in the name of Jesus, the darkness must flee, and when
- 30:49the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him and
- 30:52hurt him not. Praise the Lord God Almighty
- 30:56with Jesus. It's easy in the name of Jesus
- 30:59Christ. The darkness.
- 31:01Flees 36 and they were. All.
- 31:05Amazed and spoke among themselves, saying, What a word
- 31:10is this? For with authority and power he
- 31:13commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.
- 31:19So you can see. Here that Jesus has all
- 31:21authority over all of the spiritual realm.
- 31:27He is our great High Priest and we would do well to call upon
- 31:31that name to get connected to the vine friends, and to not
- 31:35fear and to not operate with the spirit of fear, but know that in
- 31:40Jesus and through Jesus we are more than conquerors. 37 And the
- 31:48fame of him went out into every place of the country round and
- 31:54about. So you can see that Jesus's main
- 31:58ministry is to preach the good news of the acceptable year.
- 32:03It's not necessarily to be a showman.
- 32:07He wasn't necessarily there to try and prove that he was who he
- 32:14is. He came there to let them know
- 32:18that they were in air and they desperately needed a savior.
- 32:23And He did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it. 38
- 32:29and he. Arose out of the synagogue and
- 32:31entered into Simon's house, and Simon's wife's mother was taken
- 32:37with a great fever, and they besought him for her.
- 32:44So here we can. See that Jesus heals Peter's
- 32:48wife's mother and many others. You can see here that this woman
- 32:56was plagued with something that Jesus saw was not fitting it.
- 33:06Was not just a. Natural fever.
- 33:08It was not just a natural sickness that this was something
- 33:13that Jesus identified needed to come out of her.
- 33:18And we would do well to know that some of the sicknesses that
- 33:23we encounter are not just a natural kind of sickness that
- 33:27there is a demonic presence in that sickness.
- 33:33And that is not a very popular thought, friends, but mental
- 33:37illness and sicknesses and even paralyzing sicknesses.
- 33:49Are. Sometimes able to be rebuked in
- 33:54the name of Jesus. It's not always a natural.
- 34:00And we have discounted this supernatural realm and we like
- 34:05the easy and we just want to medicate it, and we just want it
- 34:10to be fixed in the natural. And we would do well to remember
- 34:16that Jesus rebukes it and it leaves and she's immediately
- 34:20strengthened. And it is a miracle from God. 39
- 34:26and he. Stood over her and rebuked the
- 34:29fever, and it left her, and immediately she arose and
- 34:32ministered unto them. 40 Now when the sun was setting, all
- 34:37they that had any sick with diverse diseases brought them
- 34:42unto him. And he laid his hands on every
- 34:44one of them, and healed them, every one of them.
- 34:50It's easy for Jesus. He was never stumped, friends.
- 34:55And some things only go out by prayer and fasting.
- 35:01Just remember that. Friends. 41 and the.
- 35:05Devils also came out of many crying and saying you are
- 35:09Christ, the Son of God, and he rebuked them, suffered them not
- 35:13to speak, for they knew that He was the Christ, He's the
- 35:18anointed, He's the long-awaited Messiah, He is the only begotten
- 35:23Son of God. And the demons.
- 35:28Recognized it and he told them to be quiet.
- 35:31It was not yet time for him to go to the cross and to be
- 35:35revealed as the Saviour of the world. 42.
- 35:41And when it was day, he departed, and went into a desert
- 35:47place, and the people saw him, and came unto him, and say and
- 35:52state him that he should not depart from them.
- 35:57They just wanted to keep him around them.
- 35:59And what does he say? 43 And he said unto them, I must
- 36:02preach the Kingdom of God to other cities also, for therefore
- 36:07I am sent. He says This is why I'm sent to
- 36:10go and to preach to the other cities.
- 36:16What is he preaching? He's preaching the Kingdom of
- 36:19God and how many times does he say the Kingdom of God is like?
- 36:24And he teaches us what it is that we are to look forward to.
- 36:28He teaches us what it is we are to be on guard about here in the
- 36:34now. And just remember that we are
- 36:37pilgrims that are passing through a strange land.
- 36:42And look around, friends. Don't be surprised when you feel
- 36:46like you're out of step with the world.
- 36:50Don't be surprised when you're misunderstood.
- 36:54Don't be surprised. When you're even subtly
- 36:57persecuted for your faith and laughed at and jeered because of
- 37:03what you believe. This world has been.
- 37:06Sold a lie. This world has been deluged and
- 37:11they are delusional because they refuse to love the truth and
- 37:16they delighted in evil. 44 and he.
- 37:20Preached in the synagogues of Galilee.
- 37:24So he left his own. Hometown and he goes and rebukes
- 37:31all of the unclean spirits. What an amazing account given by
- 37:38someone who took up a time to go and search out all the facts
- 37:47this Luke and how he is able to go and give eyewitness accounts.
- 37:53He's able to Fact Check everything before he even
- 37:57started to write to Theophilus. And this is how we know that
- 38:01it's trustworthy and it's true and we can bank on it and we can
- 38:06build our life upon it. Hope you've been blessed by this
- 38:08chapter here and Luke. I know I sure have.
- 38:12I'm praying for every single one of you.
- 38:14I love you and. We'll see.
- 38:19You back here tomorrow? God bless you.
