- 0:57Speaker 1: gay comic Geek AKA who likes to make everything blacker
- 1:01Speaker 1: and gayer aka bald a k A. I'll be having
- 1:06Speaker 1: that fit on at the red carpet, so ask about me.
- 1:09Speaker 2: This is truth, truth be told. Like like I tell
- 1:12Speaker 2: Michael over and over again, I will never I've never
- 1:16Speaker 2: seen the movie. I don't know if I ever will,
- 1:18Speaker 2: but I will always know that Michael had that ship
- 1:20Speaker 2: on at the pressure red carpet. That that's what I
- 1:24Speaker 2: do remember about that film.
- 1:25Speaker 1: It's a red carpet. I'm like, I'm putting something. I'll
- 1:28Speaker 1: figure it out. I was like, I don't know what
- 1:31Speaker 1: what the fuck this movie is about, but I see
- 1:33Speaker 1: clouds on the poster, so I'm gonna wear all whites.
- 1:35Speaker 2: It worked out, you put pressure on them for real.
- 1:38Speaker 2: But tonight we are here to talk about Spider Man,
- 1:41Speaker 2: Brand New Day, the Latest, the fourth, the quadrilogy. Now
- 1:47Speaker 2: I guess, yeah, this is a quadrilogy.
- 1:49Speaker 1: The first one to get a fourth.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Yeah, this first one of Marvel to get a fourth. Wow,
- 1:53Speaker 2: yeah that is true.
- 1:55Speaker 4: No for but we don't count that.
- 1:57Speaker 1: I'm at the first Spider Man to get a fourth.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Oh yeah yeah, yeah, because Love and Thunder was.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Yeah, we don't count that more.
- 2:04Speaker 2: We don't love.
- 2:06Speaker 1: No, we don't know, we don't acknowledge her.
- 2:09Speaker 2: God boy, that was one that hurt that one man
- 2:12Speaker 2: that it never happened.
- 2:14Speaker 1: It never happened.
- 2:15Speaker 2: This one was invented by a writer. But uh, tonight
- 2:18Speaker 2: we are here to talk about spider Man Brand New
- 2:20Speaker 2: Day to fourth spider Man film, I guess, the first
- 2:22Speaker 2: in a new trilogy directed by Destined Daniel Critton, and
- 2:27Speaker 2: I've been butchering your name for a minute, brother, I
- 2:29Speaker 2: apologize for that because this is the man behind wonder Man,
- 2:33Speaker 2: Shane Chee, and they've been destroying it because wonder Man
- 2:36Speaker 2: is one of my favorite properties. And Spider Man Brand
- 2:40Speaker 2: New Day written by Chris mckinna and Eric Summers. So
- 2:46Speaker 2: once again the Birthday girl. What did you think?
- 2:49Speaker 4: I loved it.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I had such an amazing time. We're gonna keep the
- 2:53Speaker 3: spoiler free.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Yeah, you.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Spoilers, Steve Lacy.
- 2:59Speaker 3: I just want to say I think, hands down is
- 3:02Speaker 3: the best Spider Man movie since Sam Raimi Spider Man two.
- 3:06Speaker 3: I love this movie. I had such a good time.
- 3:09Speaker 3: I don't really have that many complaints.
- 3:12Speaker 4: I thought there's.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Genuinely funny, wholehearted, great performances. Everything felt solid and like
- 3:19Speaker 3: well thought out and action packed, the web slinging just
- 3:23Speaker 3: I loved it. I really had a great time in
- 3:25Speaker 3: this movie, all right, Michael.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna echo that sentiment, uh with not like part
- 3:34Speaker 1: of me is like I don't want to say it because,
- 3:37Speaker 1: like she said, is the best one since uh Sam Raymie.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I feel like it surpasses that, and part of me like,
- 3:43Speaker 1: I don't know if it's because recency bias, like I
- 3:45Speaker 1: just got out the theater, but I'm like, I'm really
- 3:47Speaker 1: like thinking about it, I'm like, no, I think this
- 3:49Speaker 1: is out of all of the Spider Man movies, might
- 3:52Speaker 1: be my favorite of the Spider Man movies because like,
- 3:57Speaker 1: this movie had a lot of heart. I feel like
- 3:59Speaker 1: it has some of the best character work of all
- 4:02Speaker 1: the movies. You could tell Dustin Daniel Kreten he played
- 4:06Speaker 1: the Spider Man games on Yes five Heavy Heavy, Like
- 4:10Speaker 1: he I just not just played him, but he got
- 4:14Speaker 1: the d LC and like he looked at the making
- 4:19Speaker 1: of the games all like the way like some of
- 4:22Speaker 1: the shots with the web swinging it looked like it
- 4:24Speaker 1: came out the game or even like some moments in
- 4:27Speaker 1: the movie like storyline wise, I'm like he took that
- 4:30Speaker 1: from the game, like that from the game, Like, but
- 4:34Speaker 1: it was it was fun, Like it almost kind of
- 4:37Speaker 1: felt like a video game in many ways, but one
- 4:41Speaker 1: of the good video games, not the bad video games.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Yes, and that's the thing. Go ahead, And I loved it.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I want to see it like four or five more times.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Wow, all right, I'm not gonna break tradition with y'all.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I feel pretty much the same way. I I'm someone
- 4:59Speaker 2: who always I don't get the love for the I mean,
- 5:03Speaker 2: I think the Raymond films are great, but when people
- 5:06Speaker 2: call them the greatest superhero film of all time and
- 5:09Speaker 2: things of that nature, and it's like, Okay, it was cool.
- 5:11Speaker 2: You know, I enjoyed it. Don't get me wrong. I
- 5:12Speaker 2: loved it at the time, but I've really enjoyed the
- 5:15Speaker 2: Tom Holland Spider Man like I think he's been my
- 5:18Speaker 2: favorite Spider Man overall. You know, these have been my
- 5:21Speaker 2: favorite films. I loved, you know, A Homecoming I thought
- 5:24Speaker 2: was exceptional. I thought all three of them I don't
- 5:27Speaker 2: I don't get the there seems to somewhat I don't
- 5:31Speaker 2: know about hate, but like a dislike for those movies,
- 5:35Speaker 2: and I never got it. And I do think that
- 5:38Speaker 2: this is better than all three of them. I think
- 5:41Speaker 2: this might be my favorite Spider Man movie as well.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Like available now at four all nerds dot com. The
- 5:48Speaker 2: Gucci Mandalorian, The Variants, The Dunken Egg, The Lion, Old Richie,
- 5:54Speaker 2: new designs coming soon. I think it's just it was
- 5:58Speaker 2: a lot of things going in to it that I
- 6:00Speaker 2: was wondering about, and really not none of that had
- 6:03Speaker 2: to do with Sadie Saint's character. It was more things
- 6:05Speaker 2: about what was Peter Parker's state of mind going to
- 6:08Speaker 2: be in this film, because the more I thought about it,
- 6:11Speaker 2: the more horrific the end of No Way Home is.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Like I've been thinking about it a lot before I
- 6:17Speaker 2: saw the filming. I'm like, yo, if you lose your partner,
- 6:21Speaker 2: your best friend, who would you normally go and run
- 6:24Speaker 2: and talk to about either of those? Your mom? But
- 6:27Speaker 2: she's dead too, so you can't even you can't run
- 6:29Speaker 2: to anybody, and you can't even run to you know.
- 6:33Speaker 2: In the other case, you would run to the people
- 6:35Speaker 2: who know the other side of you best, the Avengers,
- 6:38Speaker 2: and you can't evenly run to them. Something like his
- 6:40Speaker 2: mindset must be.
- 6:41Speaker 4: You know.
- 6:42Speaker 2: I thought this was a horror movie going in, and
- 6:45Speaker 2: while I don't think they made it a horror movie,
- 6:47Speaker 2: I think they really did capture what that is like
- 6:50Speaker 2: for Peter and how horrible his existence is and how
- 6:55Speaker 2: sad it is, And like y'all said, I think it
- 6:58Speaker 2: really gets into the care of what made Spider Man
- 7:01Speaker 2: spider Man, because even under such a horrible condition, he
- 7:07Speaker 2: is still Peter Parker, a man who gets up and
- 7:09Speaker 2: does the best with what he got. The best I can,
- 7:13Speaker 2: but but I got.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Oh, my biggest complaint with the Holland movies was his
- 7:20Speaker 3: reliance on tech and his reliance on Tony Stark. That
- 7:24Speaker 3: was always my main complaint. I always enjoyed the movies.
- 7:28Speaker 3: I absolutely love Tom Holland. Like, although it's not my
- 7:30Speaker 3: favorite Spider Man movie, he was my favorite Spider Man.
- 7:34Speaker 3: But for me, what made this movie work so much
- 7:37Speaker 3: better was that, as you.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Just mentioned, how alone he was, so he's doing.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Everything like on his own, and then how they really
- 7:46Speaker 3: tapped into like his education and like working with computers
- 7:49Speaker 3: and like knowing all this stuff doing it on his own.
- 7:53Speaker 3: I really enjoyed that aspect of this movie.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and I the same.
- 7:58Speaker 1: And I was literally, it's funny you say that because
- 7:59Speaker 1: I was literally talking to bet.
- 8:00Speaker 5: On me and and they were the first person to
- 8:04Speaker 5: ever make me really because I heard that argument before, Michael,
- 8:07Speaker 5: But you made me the way you said it, and
- 8:09Speaker 5: you know you can say it again because you made
- 8:11Speaker 5: be like, oh, okay.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I get it. You know, I understand.
- 8:14Speaker 1: That's exactly what I said. I was like, every movie
- 8:16Speaker 1: that he's had before this one, he's always had to
- 8:19Speaker 1: have a daddy pop happy yeah, And I'm like his
- 8:26Speaker 1: daddy dad, his uncle dad, like stop giving, like he's
- 8:28Speaker 1: supposed to be alone, Like stop giving. And I get
- 8:31Speaker 1: like you want to give him this mentor figure and
- 8:32Speaker 1: all this other stuff, but I'm like the thing about Peters,
- 8:35Speaker 1: He's always had to figure it out on his own.
- 8:37Speaker 1: And then also like that that is what also shows
- 8:41Speaker 1: his genius and his enuity, the fact that, yeah he
- 8:44Speaker 1: might there might be Avengers and Fantastic Four and things
- 8:46Speaker 1: like that, but he didn't really interact with them that much,
- 8:51Speaker 1: especially on like a day to day. But you know
- 8:53Speaker 1: with like Spider Man, uh homecoming he had or wasn't
- 8:58Speaker 1: far from home when he had the the the tech.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Suit yep, far from home, yeah, far telling him what
- 9:05Speaker 2: the drones and.
- 9:06Speaker 1: The Spider draw all that stuff, and I'm just like,
- 9:09Speaker 1: come on, like I want to see smart Peter Parker.
- 9:13Speaker 1: And we kind of got that, like they stripped away
- 9:15Speaker 1: all the even though we got the greater MCU in
- 9:18Speaker 1: this world, they stripped away the mc unss of it
- 9:21Speaker 1: with regards to Peter Parker and just let Peter be
- 9:26Speaker 1: Spider Man and not iron Man Junior.
- 9:28Speaker 2: More or less he's out of line, but he's right. Yeah,
- 9:32Speaker 2: And I never got that Iron Man Junior complaint. But
- 9:36Speaker 2: I did get it, Like I said, when you explain
- 9:38Speaker 2: it to me, that it's more not that he's actually
- 9:40Speaker 2: Iron Man, but more than he has a father who's
- 9:42Speaker 2: Iron Man, and so that makes it, you know, I
- 9:45Speaker 2: can always run the daddy when everything's go really wrong. Yeah,
- 9:48Speaker 2: And even though Iron Man's like, you know, you have
- 9:49Speaker 2: to be your own man in the movie and all that,
- 9:52Speaker 2: and in the second one he's more dealing with the
- 9:53Speaker 2: fact that his father is now gone, I do understand
- 9:57Speaker 2: that complaint, and I do feel like this I think
- 10:00Speaker 2: this is and this is why I love this film
- 10:02Speaker 2: so much, is because it serves the needs of both
- 10:04Speaker 2: of those fan groups. Like it serves the needs of
- 10:06Speaker 2: the groups who want that street level Spider Man, but
- 10:10Speaker 2: it's also like me, like my first Spider Man comic
- 10:12Speaker 2: ever was when he's beating fire Lord up all across Manhattan.
- 10:16Speaker 2: You know, fire Lord is the Herald of Galatis, but
- 10:19Speaker 2: it's just Spider Man being Spider Man, where he won't
- 10:21Speaker 2: give up, he will do whatever it takes, and he'll
- 10:24Speaker 2: just keep fighting until he beats fire Lord, you know,
- 10:27Speaker 2: because fire Lord should be to kill this dude instantly.
- 10:30Speaker 2: So that's what I've always loved this. I love the
- 10:31Speaker 2: fact that Spider Man is this guy who's pretty much
- 10:34Speaker 2: underestimated by the rest of the Marvel universe but can
- 10:38Speaker 2: f up pretty much anyone, Like in Secret Wars in
- 10:41Speaker 2: the original one, he fights the whole ed Men and
- 10:43Speaker 2: serves them, like just serves the X Men down the line.
- 10:47Speaker 2: And it's like, yo, I'm Spider Man. You know, y'all,
- 10:49Speaker 2: don't you know? People underestimate who you know who I am?
- 10:52Speaker 2: And so I like that this sad him not fighting
- 10:56Speaker 2: some big cosmic thing, but you know, dealing with something
- 10:59Speaker 2: big in him.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Yeah, and this like harkens back to like the j
- 11:02Speaker 1: Michael Strazinski and Dan Slott era of Spider Man, and
- 11:07Speaker 1: it's like like, yeah, I'm like this movie had me hype,
- 11:11Speaker 1: Like I want to watch it right, Like I want
- 11:13Speaker 1: to go again and watch it right now again. Leg
- 11:19Speaker 1: yeah right, I'm about to hop on my fire stick.
- 11:25Speaker 2: So well, we talked about, you know, overall, what was
- 11:28Speaker 2: something you know besides once again those Steve Lacy is
- 11:34Speaker 2: your favorite character?
- 11:38Speaker 1: Well, yea, I would say no, Steve Lacy is like
- 11:45Speaker 1: my favorite. It's it's Peter. It's you know, yeah, like
- 11:51Speaker 1: seeing the growth and the journey that he's on to
- 11:54Speaker 1: the point that like, even though I still think there's
- 11:59Speaker 1: more for him to grow, Oh and we're not necessarily
- 12:01Speaker 1: there yet, I could see this the start of like
- 12:07Speaker 1: this Peter eventually being like a mentor to Miles. Yes, yeah,
- 12:12Speaker 1: I said, I don't think he's there yet. I can
- 12:15Speaker 1: like I could see it in this movie versus like
- 12:18Speaker 1: the other three movies, because people keep saying, oh, I
- 12:21Speaker 1: want to we need to introduce Myles, and I'm like,
- 12:24Speaker 1: I don't think Peter's ready to be a mentor. Like
- 12:27Speaker 1: he's still a case. He still has a lot of
- 12:28Speaker 1: growing up to do. And like I said, he still
- 12:29Speaker 1: has a lot of growing up to do in this movie,
- 12:31Speaker 1: but I could I could see yeah, the the legwork
- 12:37Speaker 1: or whatever, like the growth of the character and the development,
- 12:41Speaker 1: and I think they really did a good job and
- 12:43Speaker 1: that like I think, yeah, he was my favorite favorite character.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Uh for me, because I'm gonna try to keep you know,
- 12:51Speaker 3: spoiler free. But also, Peter tom was amazing. The irony
- 12:56Speaker 3: is like I love The Odyssey, I freaking love that movie,
- 13:00Speaker 3: but low key, I feel like him and Zendaia were
- 13:03Speaker 3: better in this. I mean, obviously, she had way more
- 13:05Speaker 3: screen time in this than she did Zendai. Oh my god,
- 13:08Speaker 3: I we see that. Obviously she had a lot more
- 13:11Speaker 3: screen time in this than The Odyssey. But just I
- 13:15Speaker 3: can't spoil, but there's there's moments in this movie where.
- 13:18Speaker 4: She's like.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Trying not to spoil anything, all right, there's moments in
- 13:24Speaker 3: this movie where we see so much range from her.
- 13:27Speaker 3: I was like, I they killed it, like they had
- 13:30Speaker 3: me tearing in this movie.
- 13:32Speaker 4: The both of them were amazing.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Aside from them, and I also love John Burnhal in
- 13:37Speaker 3: the movie because I'm gonna throw a knock at Supergirl,
- 13:40Speaker 3: but Lobo was fan service and even though I've been
- 13:44Speaker 3: waiting my whole life to see Lobo in a live
- 13:46Speaker 3: action I felt no connection to him in that movie.
- 13:50Speaker 3: In this, I felt like every cameo or whatever person
- 13:55Speaker 3: character in this movie made sense to the plot. They
- 14:00Speaker 3: added a lot of depth to the movie, and he
- 14:03Speaker 3: added a great level of comedic timing, which is funny
- 14:08Speaker 3: because he's the punisher, but like their natural banter was
- 14:11Speaker 3: so freaking funny and like it worked, and I think
- 14:15Speaker 3: we needed just that little bit of like, you know,
- 14:18Speaker 3: a little happiness because we're so used to, you know,
- 14:22Speaker 3: Spider Man, like having a lot of emotional debt but
- 14:25Speaker 3: also fun moments, like we've had fun moments with Garfields,
- 14:28Speaker 3: We've had fun moments with Toby Maguire's and in this movie,
- 14:32Speaker 3: I think we really needed that because it was so
- 14:34Speaker 3: like emotionally heavy, like the loneliness aspect. So I think
- 14:37Speaker 3: that little banter was so much fun and I loved
- 14:41Speaker 3: him in it. I really loved him in it.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Yeah. No, that's the thing, like you when you mentioned
- 14:46Speaker 1: Supergirl and Lobo. As much as I like seeing him
- 14:49Speaker 1: play the role of Lobo, and it's clearly a role
- 14:51Speaker 1: that he was, he.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Was born meant to play.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Pay and I would love to see Lobo get like
- 14:56Speaker 1: a spinoff and things like that. Yeah, I said it
- 14:58Speaker 1: my Supergirl review. I was like, take him out the movie.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Nothing changed, nothing changes, exactly changes, but.
- 15:03Speaker 1: At least in this movie, like you said, you know,
- 15:07Speaker 1: seeing Mark Ruffalo in the movie. It's not a spoiler
- 15:10Speaker 1: because he's in the trailer. John Burnhal as the Punisher. Again,
- 15:14Speaker 1: not a spoiler because's in the trailer. Like, if you
- 15:16Speaker 1: remove them from the movie like you like in terms
- 15:21Speaker 1: of like where the plot goes, a lot of the
- 15:24Speaker 1: movie changes a lot. Bobby can't make it work. I mean,
- 15:26Speaker 1: obviously you can make anything work with writing, but like
- 15:28Speaker 1: for this particular movie that we saw, it wouldn't work
- 15:31Speaker 1: if they were removed, like all the cameo like they
- 15:33Speaker 1: all were in they weren't just cameo for cameo's sake,
- 15:36Speaker 1: exactly a Deadpool and Wolverine, but like it actually you know,
- 15:41Speaker 1: made sense and did not just expand on Peter's storyline
- 15:46Speaker 1: but just expanded and made it feel like a Marble
- 15:50Speaker 1: cinematic universe, which is something that I complained about with
- 15:54Speaker 1: a lot of them, like Marvel. It's like, oh, well,
- 15:56Speaker 1: this is in New York. This character should at least
- 15:58Speaker 1: have someone of a kid, even even like Thunderballs as
- 16:01Speaker 1: an example, I was like, Spider Man should like swing
- 16:03Speaker 1: By is like somehow like granted, I get it, Sony,
- 16:07Speaker 1: so they probably can't do that, but.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Like somebody they can have. They got to figure out
- 16:11Speaker 2: some character they could have had getting blipped out, you know,
- 16:14Speaker 2: just doing the lunch and then they turn into a shadow,
- 16:17Speaker 2: you know.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Because that's how it happens, and that's how it happens
- 16:20Speaker 1: in the comics, like a Spider Man book. You might
- 16:22Speaker 1: see Daredevil in the background. They might not take the
- 16:25Speaker 1: focus of the of the of the story, but you
- 16:29Speaker 1: reallyst see that they're there because it's a universe. So
- 16:31Speaker 1: it's like, if you're gonna do a cinematic universe, then
- 16:35Speaker 1: make it feel lived in. And this movie felt lived in,
- 16:38Speaker 1: and that's what I loved.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Yeah, now I agree with all that. I think my
- 16:43Speaker 2: favorite character is really the three of them is Peter,
- 16:48Speaker 2: Ned and MJ. Because, like, one of my favorite moments
- 16:54Speaker 2: in the MCU is, what's this is the end of endgame,
- 17:01Speaker 2: right the end of I'm getting chills think about it
- 17:03Speaker 2: right now, when Peter comes back into the school and
- 17:07Speaker 2: nets there and they do the handshake and it's in
- 17:10Speaker 2: slow motion, you know, and it's like just all the
- 17:13Speaker 2: shit they've been through, but these two friends, you know,
- 17:16Speaker 2: will always find each other, and that shit, it fucks
- 17:19Speaker 2: me up every time I watched that movie. And like
- 17:22Speaker 2: when I watch the Spider Man movies when Ned and
- 17:24Speaker 2: him are putting together the Death Star, you know, and
- 17:28Speaker 2: how the Death Star keeps showing up in all the movies.
- 17:32Speaker 2: It's just those little touches make the you know, their friendship.
- 17:36Speaker 2: And then Zendeia is then about the cry right now, Yeah,
- 17:43Speaker 2: this time watching it, I did not cry watching this movie,
- 17:46Speaker 2: But I know the next time I see it, I
- 17:47Speaker 2: just don't get me because it was you know, it
- 17:49Speaker 2: was right there, and I know the next time I'm
- 17:51Speaker 2: be like, oh, efic because no, it's yeah. I think
- 17:55Speaker 2: this is definitely my favorite. And I also I want
- 17:58Speaker 2: to add with Bernthal because I've been hating on him
- 18:01Speaker 2: just in general. I feel like his views are crazy
- 18:04Speaker 2: and what he's been saying about The Punisher is just
- 18:07Speaker 2: while out where I'm like, yo, what are you talking about?
- 18:10Speaker 2: Oh I haven't Oh you don't want to know. And
- 18:13Speaker 2: I loved him in this movie. I thought it was exceptional,
- 18:15Speaker 2: you know, like every moment he was on screen, I
- 18:18Speaker 2: loved it. This is the Punisher that I want to see,
- 18:22Speaker 2: you know. It's like, not just this dude who's just
- 18:25Speaker 2: shooting and killing everything, Like I get that. For the
- 18:27Speaker 2: comments and words but that works when you can really
- 18:30Speaker 2: examine it, and I don't feel like John is feeling
- 18:32Speaker 2: examined it in the right way. This is what I
- 18:34Speaker 2: want to see.
- 18:35Speaker 1: And I was curious about how they were going to
- 18:36Speaker 1: do the Punisher, considering like how rated are his character is.
- 18:41Speaker 2: I still feel like they kind of ignored one last kill,
- 18:44Speaker 2: you know in this this is just like a whole
- 18:46Speaker 2: different dude, Like this is just like you know, Punisher,
- 18:49Speaker 2: Like I.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Mean it was, but it also wasn't though, because like, yeah,
- 18:51Speaker 1: you see that happen all the time, Like even like
- 18:53Speaker 1: Wolverine and his like his solo phonics, he's super rated.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Are the X Men? They don't. It's like, yeah, you
- 18:59Speaker 1: forgive that for but I was like for movies, I'm like,
- 19:01Speaker 1: how are they gonna do How are they gonna make
- 19:03Speaker 1: this circle? How they gonna square this circle whatever whatever
- 19:06Speaker 1: the saying is, I'm noting it circle. I think how
- 19:09Speaker 1: they gonna make this work? And I think Dust and
- 19:11Speaker 1: Daniel Kreit and the right like they made it.
- 19:14Speaker 2: They made it work. I loved him, I absolutely loved him.
- 19:18Speaker 2: The action with the Punisher is some of the best stuff.
- 19:22Speaker 2: And then, like you said, not his relationship with Peter
- 19:27Speaker 2: is incredible and so much more than what I thought
- 19:29Speaker 2: we were gonna get from the trailers, Like so much more.
- 19:33Speaker 2: He brings so much to it because and it's like
- 19:37Speaker 2: you said, it's so much character work, because it's like,
- 19:39Speaker 2: really is this is the best examination of who the
- 19:41Speaker 2: Punisher is to me as well, and how the Punisher
- 19:45Speaker 2: relates to other superheroes, Like he has bars. My man,
- 19:49Speaker 2: John dropped some bars in this one. So yeah, no, incredible,
- 19:54Speaker 2: Like I did not think I'd be coming out of
- 19:56Speaker 2: it saying, you know, I love John Burnthal's the Punisher
- 19:59Speaker 2: in this movie.
- 20:00Speaker 3: I did even back to like that whole point and
- 20:04Speaker 3: in regards to like Ruffalo, because I have a lot
- 20:07Speaker 3: of issues with the way the MCU has nersed the
- 20:10Speaker 3: Hulk and the irony is like I think this did
- 20:14Speaker 3: a pretty good balance of like you know, showing like
- 20:18Speaker 3: obviously his human side, which we've had in the last
- 20:21Speaker 3: what three or four movies, he hasn't done shit, but
- 20:23Speaker 3: like in this I was super excited to see like
- 20:27Speaker 3: we can see his power and how powerful he is
- 20:30Speaker 3: and him trying to balance that and even like the hmmunity,
- 20:33Speaker 3: you know, the emotional aspects because usually Natasha is the
- 20:37Speaker 3: one who can calm him down.
- 20:38Speaker 4: So I liked how they tackled this.
- 20:41Speaker 3: But to the point you guys were just saying, like
- 20:43Speaker 3: they did such a good job of showcasing all of
- 20:46Speaker 3: these characters in relation to Peter, because I think that's
- 20:50Speaker 3: an issue Marvel has sometimes with trying to balance like
- 20:53Speaker 3: the rated R or the like PG type stuff. But
- 20:57Speaker 3: I think this did a fantastic job. I didn't like
- 21:01Speaker 3: they nerve them or made them to corny as they
- 21:04Speaker 3: do like with Thor, where everything has to become a
- 21:08Speaker 3: bad joke, and like this works like John felt Frank
- 21:13Speaker 3: felt like Frank, like a joke that Frank would make,
- 21:16Speaker 3: not a joke that I'm gonna butcher his name right now.
- 21:19Speaker 3: But the director of Thor like ye, yeah, like it
- 21:25Speaker 3: didn't feel like I think that showcases good Like I'm
- 21:31Speaker 3: not yeah, like not saying that's bad direction, but you
- 21:34Speaker 3: don't always have to put your personality in it, like
- 21:37Speaker 3: you should be representing the character.
- 21:39Speaker 4: And I think this movie did a fantastic.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Job of representing all the characters, like of who they
- 21:45Speaker 3: are and how they would interact in this.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Yeah, very much so. And I feel like this is
- 21:49Speaker 1: one of the rare MCU movies where it didn't feel
- 21:52Speaker 1: like an MCU movie. And what I mean by that
- 21:56Speaker 1: is a lot of times they always is cut attention
- 22:00Speaker 1: with the stupid ass joke yep, and I hate that. Yes,
- 22:05Speaker 1: sometimes it's funny. Sometimes it is funny and it does work.
- 22:09Speaker 1: But I feel like they've been trying to chase Josh
- 22:11Speaker 1: Whedon since the first Avengers movie because that's like his
- 22:14Speaker 1: style of doing stuff like that, cutting attention with a
- 22:17Speaker 1: like a quip or a joke or whatever. He also
- 22:19Speaker 1: did it in Buffy the Vampire Slayer a lot, and
- 22:22Speaker 1: it's like for those things it works, but like you got,
- 22:25Speaker 1: y'all are not Joss Whedon, so stop trying to do
- 22:27Speaker 1: a Joss Whedon. And sometimes even for Joshedon because like
- 22:30Speaker 1: Avengers Age of Ultron, which Age of Ultron is better
- 22:35Speaker 1: now that we know all, but like when you find
- 22:37Speaker 1: how bad it can get, yeah, but even then it's
- 22:40Speaker 1: like no, Or like when you watch his Jos the
- 22:43Speaker 1: Jostice League, it didn't it didn't work.
- 22:47Speaker 2: It didn't work, and.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Then we learn all the stuff we learned about Josh Whedon.
- 22:51Speaker 2: It's like to him, they really didn't work.
- 22:53Speaker 1: It seems like every movie they keep doing that. Like
- 22:56Speaker 1: I think about even the Doctor Strange Man when he
- 22:57Speaker 1: finally like accepted his uh his nature and he popped
- 23:01Speaker 1: the collar on his cake and then the cake like
- 23:03Speaker 1: started caressing. He's like stop that. It's like, why'd you do? Like,
- 23:06Speaker 1: don't do that, And they didn't do that in this movie.
- 23:10Speaker 1: They had jokes, but like you said, it felt like
- 23:13Speaker 1: jokes that the Punisher would make, that Spider Man would make,
- 23:15Speaker 1: that Ned would make, and things like that. And like
- 23:17Speaker 1: even though Mark Ruffalo and the Hulk wasn't in this
- 23:21Speaker 1: movie a lot, I feel like this is my favorite
- 23:24Speaker 1: depiction of the Hulk, even more probably than like thor Ragnarok.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, because once again, it's a character. And I've
- 23:33Speaker 2: never been one of those who they nerved the hole
- 23:35Speaker 2: because I'm I'm a huge Hulk fan. Like Peter David
- 23:40Speaker 2: rest in Peace is one of my favorite comic book writers,
- 23:42Speaker 2: and his run on the Hulk is unparalleled. And I
- 23:46Speaker 2: love the Professor Hulk, I love Mister fix It. I
- 23:49Speaker 2: loved all the different variations, so Holp doesn't always have
- 23:53Speaker 2: to be super strong and just ri to me, you.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Know, Yeah, for the most part, we've never really seen
- 24:00Speaker 1: super strong.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I get it, I get it. We didn't get
- 24:04Speaker 2: to see that in the mcmore.
- 24:07Speaker 4: Let's let's play yeah, because.
- 24:08Speaker 2: That's not my professor. I feel you, because the Professor
- 24:12Speaker 2: Hult computer David was just smart and strong and had
- 24:15Speaker 2: the big guns and was doing all kinds of stuff.
- 24:17Speaker 1: So I mean, I don't want to say we've never
- 24:18Speaker 1: said because I mean he was that in the first
- 24:20Speaker 1: Avengers movie where he almost killed Black Widow.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Yep, and he wretched the that that fight with him
- 24:26Speaker 2: and Thor when he's wrecking the other carrier is bro.
- 24:29Speaker 2: I was in my I was jumping out of my
- 24:30Speaker 2: seat in the theater like that ship was lit. But
- 24:33Speaker 2: that being said, I do think the character work of
- 24:36Speaker 2: the Hulk in this movie and once again showing how
- 24:39Speaker 2: a character like the Hulk relates to a character like
- 24:41Speaker 2: Spider Man and the Peter was ill as fun and
- 24:45Speaker 2: some of the best stuff they've done with him. And
- 24:48Speaker 2: for fans of you know who want to see the
- 24:51Speaker 2: Hulk while out it's here, you know, like, don't you worry?
- 24:58Speaker 1: And I'm curious what are they to do from this
- 25:00Speaker 1: point for because also, like like with the haulk in general,
- 25:03Speaker 1: because like I doubt like she Hawk, I feel like
- 25:06Speaker 1: it is over and done. We're probably not gonna get
- 25:08Speaker 1: her again. Hawk's sun that they.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Had like forget about.
- 25:13Speaker 1: With that terrible last fade, Like well, I.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Mean that they wrote that out, that he flew bad,
- 25:18Speaker 2: dealt with that, and then you know he's back there.
- 25:20Speaker 2: I think that's pretty much all we can say, like
- 25:24Speaker 2: you know, we all you know, thoroughly enjoyed it. I
- 25:27Speaker 2: can't say there's my favorite parts because then we're gonna
- 25:30Speaker 2: really get into spoilers.
- 25:31Speaker 1: That's the thing. It's like, there's so much I want
- 25:33Speaker 1: to talk about it because you gotta dance around a lot,
- 25:37Speaker 1: like they're so much met your Sadi's sake. But she was,
- 25:42Speaker 1: she was good, that's all.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Fantastic. She's fantastic. I loved her. I absolutely loved her.
- 25:48Speaker 2: I've loved her from her first scene in Stranger Things.
- 25:51Speaker 2: She was always one of my favorites. And she's continuing
- 25:55Speaker 2: to shine and she kills it. You know, That's all
- 25:58Speaker 2: I can That's all I can say about that is
- 26:00Speaker 2: she's fantastic. No Steve Lacy, I.
- 26:07Speaker 4: Feel like that's gonna be a meme now.
- 26:08Speaker 2: No Steve lazy Tom Holland is somewhere like, yes, he
- 26:20Speaker 2: probably fell out at the live when he heard that ship.
- 26:25Speaker 2: It's oh my god, wow. So yeah, no, we're all
- 26:29Speaker 2: giving this, you know, full enthusiasm. It's fantastic. I can't
- 26:33Speaker 2: wait to see it again.
- 26:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna see this again.
- 26:36Speaker 1: I'll definitely plan on seeing this again. And like, this
- 26:39Speaker 1: movie also did a really good job and because you know,
- 26:42Speaker 1: some some movies are just like this movie was just
- 26:44Speaker 1: set up. This movie is just no, Yeah, this movie
- 26:48Speaker 1: did a really good job a movie. It was this
- 26:50Speaker 1: was a spider Man movie, but it also really set
- 26:54Speaker 1: up a lot of a lot of ship. But it's
- 26:57Speaker 1: it's gonna come in the future.
- 26:59Speaker 2: It's how it should be done. It's how Marvel used
- 27:01Speaker 2: to do it. Where it's like, this is just a
- 27:02Speaker 2: great movie and then the setup is is it could
- 27:05Speaker 2: be a million different things, and that's how it should be.
- 27:08Speaker 2: It shouldn't be like, oh, the setup is done. Oh
- 27:10Speaker 2: we know what's happening next, you know, it's like this
- 27:13Speaker 2: should be this. Like you said, what they do with
- 27:15Speaker 2: the whole who knows what they do with Sadie sinc
- 27:19Speaker 2: There's a lot of things that we're looking at, but
- 27:22Speaker 2: how that happens and what happens around them? Who knows
- 27:25Speaker 2: where Peter and everything goes from here?
- 27:28Speaker 1: Who knows damage control? Yes, I see where that, I
- 27:32Speaker 1: see what that's gonna become. M Yeah, yeah, we know
- 27:35Speaker 1: what that's doing.
- 27:36Speaker 2: I mean yeah, but it's like how they get there again,
- 27:39Speaker 2: you know that's what I mean, because we know where
- 27:41Speaker 2: it's doing, but it's not like, Okay, we like with Sadie,
- 27:44Speaker 2: we probably know where it's doing, but how they get
- 27:46Speaker 2: there is so much more important, and that's wide open.
- 27:50Speaker 1: I have no faith in doing that. Like I'm trying.
- 27:55Speaker 1: I'm trying. I'm probably gonna eat my words. I'm probably
- 27:59Speaker 1: gonna get out of doing They was like this is
- 28:00Speaker 1: fucking amazing, But now I said, I was like, I'm
- 28:03Speaker 1: way more excited about Spider Man.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Yeah, we all were going and we all said that
- 28:08Speaker 2: before this and afterwards it definitely lived up.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Fingers crossed, like right now I'm on a high. Yeah.
- 28:14Speaker 2: So it's like they got it.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Took the point that like I kind of want to
- 28:17Speaker 1: go fucking redownload the Spider Man game and play that
- 28:20Speaker 1: ship bruh.
- 28:22Speaker 2: And that's one last thing. They all said it said
- 28:24Speaker 2: that that this was his, that this was supposed to
- 28:26Speaker 2: be Peters uh wonder Man, Like you know how wonder
- 28:31Speaker 2: Man was just full of character. And I remember when
- 28:33Speaker 2: he said that, I was like, how they going to
- 28:34Speaker 2: do that in a movie, you know, because wonder Man
- 28:36Speaker 2: was a series and it was such a different series.
- 28:38Speaker 2: But they really did that.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Yeah, And it makes me wonder And no shade to
- 28:45Speaker 1: the director of the other three movies m because I
- 28:48Speaker 1: love Far from Home, Nowhere, Homecoming. I love those movies.
- 28:52Speaker 1: But maybe, like what he would I mean, I guess
- 28:55Speaker 1: he's gonna get another, maybe a trilogy of Spider Man movies.
- 28:58Speaker 1: But makes me curious that like what he would have
- 28:59Speaker 1: did with Spider Man had he got it from the beginning?
- 29:02Speaker 2: Mmm, but Dustin would it does? Yeah, but it's it's
- 29:08Speaker 2: also that's like Marvel was what Marvel was doing it.
- 29:11Speaker 2: You know, they wanted it to be uh Tony Starr Junior,
- 29:15Speaker 2: you know. So it's just yeah, so it was it
- 29:17Speaker 2: wasn't there that director's fault. But I feel like Dustin
- 29:21Speaker 2: definitely might have put a lot more character that we
- 29:23Speaker 2: didn't see, but I don't know who knows. Because it's
- 29:27Speaker 2: also like the setup was so perfect to allow you
- 29:30Speaker 2: to get into the character. You know, the setup of
- 29:33Speaker 2: no Way Home where he has nothing around him, but
- 29:37Speaker 2: he has all these memories of his friends is what
- 29:41Speaker 2: really drives this film. And so that is so yeah,
- 29:43Speaker 2: I don't know, but.
- 29:45Speaker 1: And I really love Zendaya as MJ. And this like
- 29:47Speaker 1: not that I in the other movies.
- 29:49Speaker 2: But like she it's just another level. Yeah, just another
- 29:52Speaker 2: all of them, ned is another level, all three of them,
- 29:55Speaker 2: That's what I mean. They just all bring it to
- 29:57Speaker 2: another level. And it's it's incredible, Like, yeah, I can't
- 30:00Speaker 2: wait to see the fucking movie again, like as soon
- 30:02Speaker 2: as possible. All right, Uh, gods, get girl. Please let
- 30:07Speaker 2: the people know where they can find you at.
