- 2:21The Colts blew out the Dolphins 33 to 8 to win their first week
- 2:26one games since the 2013 season. Daniel Jones had a stellar debut
- 2:32for the Colts with 272 passing yards, a 75.8% completion
- 2:38percentage, 26 rushing yards and three total touchdowns.
- 2:43Only Danny Dimes and Peyton Manning are the only
- 2:46quarterbacks Colt quarterbacks in modern era to lead scoring
- 2:51drives on their first 7 possessions of a game.
- 2:55The Colts were also the first team since 1978 to score on
- 3:01every offensive possession in the game.
- 3:03Meanwhile in Washington, the Giants and Daniel Jones less
- 3:07offense of Brian Dabel now led by 1:00 and all the one and only
- 3:12Russell Wilson did absolutely nothing all day against the
- 3:16Commanders, falling to them 21 to 6.
- 3:19Wilson had a rough Giants debut with just 168 passing yard and a
- 3:24completion percentage of 46%. The Giants entire offensive line
- 3:28was rated below 66 in PFF and was third worst in the league,
- 3:35only above the Texans and the Dolphins.
- 3:38Russell Wilson was also the Giants leading rusher in the
- 3:43game with 44 yards. Tyrone Tracy, junior Devon
- 3:47Singletary and rookie Cam Scataboo combined for only 30
- 3:53total rushing yards. Despite the rough outing, Brian
- 3:57Gable says he still has confidence in Russell Wilson as
- 4:00his starting quarterback in Week 2 versus the Cowboys.
- 4:04As first round pick, Jackson Dart waits for his opportunity
- 4:10opportunity to eventually take over.
- 4:12Jackson Dart ladies and gentlemen.
- 4:14And I'll get into the Giants 1st and then I'll get into the Colts
- 4:17because I am. You know what I feel about the
- 4:19Colts and you know what I feel about Danny Dimes.
- 4:21Jackson Dart is going to get his chance probably in week five,
- 4:25Week 6, they're going to run with Russell Wilson.
- 4:28When this team starts to fall out, which I believe after Week
- 4:333, they're going to go with the young kid.
- 4:36They're going to see what Jackson Dart is, and I think
- 4:37Jackson Dart is special. You think it really waits that
- 4:41long? I think it's going to, it's
- 4:43going to have to because Jackson don't.
- 4:44You don't want to put him in. You don't want to put him in the
- 4:47brush where it's going to set on fire.
- 4:50And, and to me, this is an offensive line that's not very
- 4:53good. We, we, we understand what this
- 4:56offensive line is. I don't want to hear how good
- 4:59this guy played in the preseason and what at what the media is
- 5:02saying about what this guy is doing during practice.
- 5:05You saw against a commander's team.
- 5:07It is a good defense. The commander's defense is good.
- 5:09Are they a great defense? They're not.
- 5:11And the fact that they couldn't protect Russell Wilson, Russell
- 5:14Wilson was running for dear life.
- 5:16It could tell you that the Giants are going to have a long,
- 5:18long, long year at that front. Their front 5 is going to have
- 5:22they don't have anything. They're, they're center, who
- 5:25they drafted a couple of years ago at in the second round
- 5:27hasn't been really good. They're they're guards, they're
- 5:30tackles. It's just been terrible.
- 5:32Brown can't stay healthy. I I mean, this is a bad
- 5:35offensive line. I'll tell you what the Giants
- 5:37did show defense. They've got some good young
- 5:41players at that line. I, I think Thibodeau played
- 5:44pretty well. They really, he really showed
- 5:45himself to be a good, you know, a better than he was over the
- 5:48last two seasons. They're young pass rusher that
- 5:51they drafted at #3 look pretty damn good too.
- 5:55Penn State alumni. So we, we understand what he's
- 5:58going to be and what the Giants believe he's going to be.
- 6:01You you saw it. His spin move is sensational.
- 6:03I I and, and their secondary played a lot better than I
- 6:06thought they were going to play. They actually put pressure on
- 6:08Jamie Daniels. Jamie Daniels did not have one
- 6:11of his best days. He really didn't.
- 6:13I I just thought that the commanders are just better or
- 6:17the a better defensively than the Giants are offensively.
- 6:21The Giants and by the way, Malik neighbors fighting on the
- 6:24sidelines and arguing with the coaching staff, that's a problem
- 6:28and that's going to cause a big problem.
- 6:29We saw this with Odell Beckham and Tom Coughlin.
- 6:32That's not a good sign for Brian Gable guys.
- 6:35If if Giant fans want Brian Gable to come back and you see
- 6:38Malik neighbors complaining and and doing the things that he was
- 6:41doing on the sidelines. Not saying that he's not seen
- 6:44the ball enough or the IT just looked like Malik neighbors.
- 6:47His head was not in the game. His head was down.
- 6:50Russell Wilson was trying to talk to him coaching staff.
- 6:53Dabel was trying to speak to him.
- 6:55You saw there was a little scruffle, you know, on the
- 6:58sidelines. That's not a good sign when your
- 6:59star wide receiver is is arguing with the coaching staff.
- 7:03So I I don't know where this is going.
- 7:06You see it right here in the video.
- 7:07He's not very happy. So Russell Wilson, he's not the
- 7:12guy of the future. I know he's Sierra's husband and
- 7:14that's why a lot of people don't like him.
- 7:16And we've heard stories that some, some of the players have
- 7:19had problems with Russell Wilson everywhere he's gone because
- 7:21he's dated, he's married to a, a superstar, global superstar.
- 7:25I, I, I think that Russell Wilson has been more of a leader
- 7:29with the Giants than I've ever seen him with the Broncos, ever
- 7:32seen him with Pittsburgh, ever seen him with Seattle.
- 7:34So that says a lot about Russell Wilson, his transition, because
- 7:37he's not a number to me. He's not a number one guy
- 7:39anymore. The Giants, the Giants were
- 7:42roughed up. They have no offense.
- 7:44They have no running game. And by the way, who the hell
- 7:47thought that Tyron Tracy Junior was going to be a good running
- 7:50back? I don't know what the Giants
- 7:52were thinking going into the season with a guy that I know
- 7:55everybody says had a good season last year.
- 7:57He wasn't a number in Devon Singletary Stakes.
- 8:00OK, They don't have a running back.
- 8:02They should have went into the draft and and they should have
- 8:05gotten themselves at least a better running back in the third
- 8:10or fourth round. There were a couple of really
- 8:11good running backs that they could have picked up.
- 8:14We saw Blue go to the Cowboys. We haven't even seen Blue yet
- 8:17because Williams was running the ball in Week 1.
- 8:19But you're going to see Blue. I think he's going to be fun to
- 8:21watch. I think the Giants need another
- 8:25type of rusher, another guy that can open up the field for the
- 8:28wide receivers. And you see what The Jets are
- 8:30doing. And I I just think the Giants
- 8:32are not a very good team. They're not very, very well
- 8:35coached. I what's going to keep Brian
- 8:38Dabel his job and Joe Shane their job is what Jackson Dart
- 8:42is going to be when he steps on a football field.
- 8:44If he could pull pull off some wins and and show people why the
- 8:47giants moved up to get him like I believe he could.
- 8:51Maybe they keep their jobs for another year.
- 8:52But it's not a good sign speedy when Dabel is fighting with the
- 8:58one and only Malik neighbors. So it's.
- 9:01Week 1, yeah. But Jabba, this is the same
- 9:03coach that in 2023 got a lot of other assistant coaches saying
- 9:06they wanted to step away because Brian Dabel was having anger
- 9:09management in his shoes, allegedly.
- 9:11So now he's trying to take it out on players.
- 9:12That Malik Neighbors was far from the problem in that game.
- 9:15He had a good game. He had five catches, 71 yards,
- 9:17talking a flash, but he had a good game.
- 9:20And like Errol was saying, the defensive played well enough to
- 9:22keep them in that game. They did especially played very
- 9:25well. Especially in the front seven, I
- 9:26was worried about them trying. To two sacks.
- 9:28Burns had two sacks. I was worried about trying to
- 9:30them, trying to contain Jayden Daniels running.
- 9:32They didn't did a great job at that.
- 9:33You saw that be kind of a vintage like the bone came from
- 9:37the Titans. He came from a vintage Mike
- 9:38Vrabel Titans defense and the Patriots defense doing a great
- 9:41job containing the running quarterbacks.
- 9:43Debo Samuel had a nice game and ertz had a nice game, but they
- 9:45did a good job of Mclaurin. So they.
- 9:47Had 168 passing yards and at one point it was only, if I'm not
- 9:51mistaken, 14 to 6. And the Giants, it was in the
- 9:54third quarter. The Giants still had a chance to
- 9:56win the game and come back in the game.
- 9:58That's the the Washington Commanders did not play great
- 10:01offensively. They couldn't run the ball.
- 10:03You could see the loss of Brian Robertson junior, I mean, him
- 10:06going to San Francisco, you seen the that it's affected them.
- 10:10And and again, I just don't know if Washington, I'll tell you
- 10:13this, Debo Samuel is a beast. That guy, if he stays healthy,
- 10:19he could change that offense. He was everything.
- 10:22He was running the ball, he was catching the ball.
- 10:25Mclaurin was nowhere to be found in the game, but Debo Samuel was
- 10:28everywhere. I mean, if you had him on your
- 10:30fantasy team and some fantasy leagues, he had 25 points.
- 10:33He was unbelievable. He really was sensational.
- 10:36He was the only guy that really stood out to me on the
- 10:39commanders and their defense. Of course their defense is
- 10:41sensational. Dan Quinn is one of the best
- 10:43defensive minds in the NFL, but Jamie Daniels did not have a
- 10:46great, great day. He did not.
- 10:48And I have him on my fantasy team.
- 10:49He did not. So I I, I know everybody thinks
- 10:52that it could be a sophomore year for him.
- 10:55I don't. I just think that, yeah.
- 10:57But I'm going to tell you this job, the Giants defense is a lot
- 11:00better than people think. Their front 7 is really good.
- 11:02They got Adam. They they put a lot of pressure
- 11:05on David Daniels. David Daniels was staying in the
- 11:07pocket. He didn't want to get out of the
- 11:09pocket because of the way the Giants were hitting him outside
- 11:12of the pocket. Yeah, and also when you look at
- 11:14the offensive line just not doing anything at all for
- 11:17Russell Wilson, it definitely does not help when it comes to
- 11:19that. And the running abilities to the
- 11:21inside is just not there either. And one of the first
- 11:23conversations I ever had with Fish, like about a month when he
- 11:25joined the show, was the about guards being used as tackle.
- 11:29I think we were focused on as they do mainly, but now they
- 11:31were doing it with James Hudson to when Andrew Thomas is hurt.
- 11:34It just looked broken on the offensive line.
- 11:36Really. Everybody and Schmidt's like you
- 11:37were saying, Errol, he had a good rookie year.
- 11:39Since then, he's kind of regressed.
- 11:40And just everyone else I think is at this point just trying to
- 11:43hell hold their own. So here's here's my breakdown.
- 11:48They were really good on defense, but Washington's
- 11:51defense is better. And Washington's defense made
- 11:54the Giants offense look like a AJV team.
- 11:57It was unbelievable. Russell Wilson was just throwing
- 12:00up like Hail Marys and hoping neighbors would come down with
- 12:03it. And neighbors, neighbors did
- 12:05would come down with it because he's really great.
- 12:07And I would say Russell Wilson's ball is a very catchable ball.
- 12:11It definitely is. It's not like it's hard to catch
- 12:15that ball. He throws a good ball, except
- 12:19he's washed up. He's not the same guy.
- 12:21He can't get out of the pocket the same way he used to.
- 12:23He's not elusive the same way he used to and he doesn't get it.
- 12:26Push it down field in the same way while he's on the run in
- 12:29like a productive way. He'll Chuck it.
- 12:32He'll Chuck it deep and hope for the best.
- 12:35I I mean, that's better than what we saw last year.
- 12:38Well. Fish.
- 12:39How about that one towards in the goal line when he threw an
- 12:42absolute piss rocket when there was like there was no.
- 12:45Feel he was like 8 yards apart. And I was like, what are we
- 12:49doing here? And then he does this rocket.
- 12:51Something that just makes no sense and plays losing football.
- 12:55And that's what the Steelers saw last year.
- 12:56That's why they got rid of him. And I'm pretty sure the Giants
- 12:59have him just for enough time until they think Jackson darts
- 13:03ready and then they'll probably, if it's before the trade
- 13:06deadline, they'll see if someone wants them and get rid of them
- 13:09or cut them and let James be the back.
- 13:11Week 5 or Week 6, you'll see Jackson guard I I, I believe
- 13:14it's going to take a little bit of time.
- 13:16They don't want to put them in that brush fire because it's
- 13:19going to be a brush fire. The Giants are not going to be
- 13:21good this year. I mean, it's pretty obvious that
- 13:23offensive line is not going to hold up.
- 13:25It's not good. Washington might have, you know,
- 13:27one of the top five defensive tackle pairs in all football.
- 13:30Oh yeah, good. They're sensational, Yeah.
- 13:32But with the center guard, guard the Giants have, I mean, Runyon,
- 13:35I mean, when they paid a lot of money for a guy who's always
- 13:38been a league average guard in Runyon.
- 13:40And I would say maybe he's a little bit below the league
- 13:42average at this point. Van Rhoden, Long Island's
- 13:45greatest. You know what I feel about him?
- 13:48He's. Really bad, and I think you may
- 13:50see Evan Neil sooner than later at that other guard spot.
- 13:54Illuminor wasn't great in the game.
- 13:56I mean, Illuminor is the guy they brought in.
- 13:58He was good last season at right tackle.
- 14:00I don't think he was great. Andrew Thomas should be back
- 14:02soon, theoretically from the list.
- 14:05Rank injury so we don't have to see Hudson got, for God's sake,
- 14:08much longer. I think Isudo's still on the
- 14:10rise. I said brown.
- 14:11Yeah. No, he's still there, I just
- 14:12say. I said brown, Andrew Thomas.
- 14:14That's what I meant. I meant I said brown.
- 14:17I don't know why, he said. Yeah.
- 14:18So he's got, you know, like the middle of the foot injury they
- 14:20had surgery on. I guess it just takes a long
- 14:22time to come back from. He can't stay healthy.
- 14:25And that's the problem with Andrew Thomas is making a lot of
- 14:27money and he just doesn't play enough.
- 14:30And that's a big problem for the New York Giants.
- 14:31And I think the Giants are going to have a problem in the
- 14:35offseason because are they going to keep Andrew Thomas if he
- 14:38can't come back and he can't stay healthy?
- 14:40Do the Giants decide, you know, to part ways and move move away
- 14:44from him? It does hurt their cap.
- 14:46And I don't know what it how it affects their cap next year if
- 14:49they decide to drop him. But he's not a guy that you can
- 14:51depend on. And, and the Giants need to go
- 14:53and, and find themselves a left tackle that's going to be play,
- 14:56be able to play week in and week out.
- 14:58They don't have one and well. Let's see, you know, like, maybe
- 15:01he comes back and it's just like a week or two and then he's back
- 15:04to full strength because he's a million times better, yeah than
- 15:07anyone else on that entire offense.
- 15:09One of the It's one of the top three left tackles in football,
- 15:121,000,000. Times better.
- 15:14I would say Schmidt's is this is his last chance at center.
- 15:17I am not impressed. I think he tried to do the tush
- 15:20push once and hurt his back real bad.
- 15:22Speedy if you remember that he was out for like a good number
- 15:25of weeks and he was just never the same when he came back.
- 15:27I don't know. I that guy, I thought I was very
- 15:30excited about him coming out of college.
- 15:32I was like, oh, this Big 10 Minnesota guy and.
- 15:35He hasn't been good. It's not good.
- 15:36No, he hasn't been good. And they?
- 15:38Need to find someone that can push the pocket in the middle
- 15:40because they don't. Maybe, maybe they should move
- 15:43Evan Neil to the center position.
- 15:46They've moved him everywhere else.
- 15:48Look, look, I think he he might end up playing.
- 15:50Guard. He's going to get a guy killed
- 15:51every once in a while. I don't know man, I if I was
- 15:55you. Said you, said Liz Frank.
- 15:57That's what ended Chin Ming Wong's career.
- 15:59Yeah. So it's like a it's, it takes a
- 16:01while to come back from. I don't know if they improved
- 16:04the surgery since, you know, 15 years ago.
- 16:07I would imagine they have a little bit at least, but they
- 16:09expect him back. He's a big guy with bad feet
- 16:12though. And that's that's the thing that
- 16:14that bothers you. If he was having injuries like
- 16:16he tore his PEC or something, that's one thing you know, but
- 16:19he's keeps having foot injuries and it's and that slows you
- 16:22down, that makes you a lesser, lesser player over time.
- 16:25I. I think also, and I know Giant
- 16:28fans probably are a little discouraged because of the game
- 16:31and, and and the way the way some of the the team showed up.
- 16:34I think there are some bright things to say about some of the
- 16:37young defensive players that the Giants have.
- 16:39So I, I think that you should be excited for a Malik neighbors
- 16:43going and attacking Brian Dabel on the sidelines.
- 16:45That's not a good sign for Brian Dabel keeping his job.
- 16:48Usually when you see something like that, when you have a guy
- 16:51like Malik neighbors complaining and arguing with the head coach
- 16:54on the sidelines means it's it could be bye bye time for Brian
- 16:57Dabal. So it doesn't look good.
- 16:59Well. Errol, there's one thing that's
- 17:00even bigger that's going to be bye bye for him if Daniel Jones
- 17:03wins comeback Player of the year.
- 17:05Well, I want to see Brian. Dabal is being fired halfway
- 17:08through this season because if Daniel Jones is good, then it's
- 17:12Brian Dabal for sure that is bad.
- 17:15First, he. Has to go.
- 17:16First of all, I want to give a shout out to me because I was
- 17:20the one. I don't know.
- 17:20That's true. Danny Dimes since he was
- 17:24drafted, I think Danny Dimes is a good quarterback.
- 17:28He's put in a very good position with a very good offensive line.
- 17:31Quint Nelson is one of the best offensive lineman in football.
- 17:34He's an all pro player. He's dominant and this line when
- 17:37healthy is one of the best offensive lines in football, top
- 17:40five. So you got a chance to see what
- 17:42Daniel Jones could do. He can run outside of the
- 17:44pocket. He's a lot faster, little doofy,
- 17:46but a lot faster than he looks and he can make every single
- 17:49throw. Now, does he have an arm?
- 17:51No, he's not Josh Allen. He's not Pat Mahomes.
- 17:55He's not any of those guys. But he can throw the 30 and 25
- 17:59yard passes. You saw what he did with
- 18:01Pittman. You saw that pass, that
- 18:02touchdown pass that he had with Pittman.
- 18:04He can make every throw over the shoulder passes.
- 18:07If he can play like this and he can stay in the pocket and make
- 18:11those throws, Indianapolis could win the division.
- 18:15Definitely the defense. Indianapolis has a more
- 18:19underrated defense than anybody could really expect them to be.
- 18:23Last year there, there is up. They were up and down, but they
- 18:26have some good young players in their secondary.
- 18:29They've got a pass rush. They can they can put pressure
- 18:31on the quarterback and and again, they have weapons.
- 18:34This is not a bad team. Taylor is a good running back.
- 18:37Pittman is a good wide receiver. Downs can catch the balls in #2
- 18:42this is not, not a bad team. So, yeah.
- 18:46And Stiken's a great coach and he's a great offense of mine.
- 18:50You saw what he did with Philadelphia, and he fits like a
- 18:53glove in Stiken's offense. Daniel Jones is a a guy that you
- 18:57don't need to throw the ball all the time, can move outside of
- 18:59the pocket, can make the throw on the run.
- 19:02He could do all that stuff. Danny Dons is going to have a
- 19:04lot better season than anybody thought he was going to have.
- 19:07He can start for this team. I, I, I like the fact that Riley
- 19:11Leonard could be the future sitting behind Daniel Jones.
- 19:14They have a good connection. We've had Riley on the show and
- 19:17Riley said that him and Daniel Jones have spoken.
- 19:19They both play for Duke. They, they, they've trained in
- 19:22the same camp together. And Riley says that he looks up
- 19:25to Daniel Jones. So it would be a nice connection
- 19:28to watch Riley for the next two or three years, sit behind
- 19:31Daniel Jones and develop and maybe in the future take over
- 19:35for Daniel Jones. This is a this is a great story,
- 19:37ladies and gentlemen, and for you dying fans, Bah humbug.
- 19:41I'm loving it. It's a present for me to you.
- 19:44I love Daniel Jones, Danny Dons baby Danny Dimes.
- 19:48You like that? He.
- 19:49He may have just beat an Owen 17 team, though.
- 19:52Come on, man, I don't care. What's up the Browns?
- 19:55I don't care. Might be that bad.
- 19:57I don't care. The numbers show you that he was
- 20:00good. He was good at.
- 20:02I don't care how bad the defense was.
- 20:03And the Giants faced a really good defense.
- 20:05Who's Danny playing next week? Well, I just want to see a
- 20:09little more sample size arrow. I need more sample.
- 20:12When he when he samples everything and, and he gives you
- 20:15that little mozzarella cheese on, on your, your, your French
- 20:19fries. Well, then ladies and gentlemen,
- 20:21you're going to have to give me a pat on the back because I told
- 20:24you fans that Daniel Jones is a quarterback.
- 20:27And it's like, is he a superstar quarterback?
- 20:29No, but he's a capable quarterback.
- 20:31Sam Donald's a capable quarterback.
- 20:33Geno Smith is a capable quarterback.
- 20:35I've been saying this for years. Who's Broncos?
- 20:38There you go. That'll.
- 20:39Be the test. There you go.
- 20:40There's a test. If he could go out there and
- 20:42play good defense. And I'm going to tell you this
- 20:44right now, even if they lose against the Broncos and he puts
- 20:47up numbers, I don't want to hear any crying.
- 20:49I want to tell you, Daniel, Daniel Jones is going to get
- 20:52you. I think if you're if you you own
- 20:55him your fantasy league, he's going to be able to run.
- 20:58So as long as he's playing, he's going to get you 25 points a
- 21:01week on your fantasy team, depending on if you're PPR
- 21:04league or whatever the hell you league you're playing, he's
- 21:05going to be able to get you those points.
- 21:07He can run, he could throw, he can dance.
- 21:10As I always say, I like Victor Cruz.
- 21:12I, I I could dance like Victor. I don't know if Danny Dons could
- 21:15do that. Who's Danny Dons sleeping with?
- 21:16That's what I want to know. I'm just kidding.
- 21:18Any girl good job is head. He just popped right up.
- 21:22Where did that come from? I.
- 21:24Was like I might have to look that up.
- 21:27No, it's arrows, girl. Is is he still with her?
- 21:30No. That was just, I think, a hoax.
- 21:31I don't know if it's a hoax. I mean, that was a great story,
- 21:34guys. I'm.
- 21:35Sure you enjoyed it? I did.
- 21:36I mean, I don't know if he he really was getting a sack with
- 21:40her, but if he was, I got to give him pat on the back.
- 21:43I got to give him some, you know, some props.
- 21:45I saw him. He she was actually hosting
- 21:48Friday's show in Brazil, wasn't she was in Brazil.
- 21:51Cam Newton. Cam Newton, by the way, One of
- 21:53the ugliest hats I've ever seen, by the way.
- 21:55Dude, his I. Mean, I get he has a lot of
- 21:58hats, but some of them are atrocious.
- 22:00Ugly hat man. What is he?
- 22:01More than some? Just some.
- 22:03And I bet honestly, like I know he's getting some of them for
- 22:06free probably, but I bet he's bought some.
- 22:08I said like I wouldn't wipe my butt with but they probably cost
- 22:12like 6789 a $1000. I should.
- 22:19I could make a dude wipes hat and that'd be.
- 22:21There you go, we should get a Dude Wipes hat.
- 22:23I think that would fit perfectly.
- 22:25Anyways, ladies and gentlemen, where our guest is waiting my
- 22:28golf clap of the day. This deserves a golf clap.
- 22:33No doubt golf. Clap Golf.
- 22:38Clap, all right, my golf clap of the day.
- 22:39I was thinking Carmelo Anthony being inducted in the Hall of
- 22:42Fame. No, I, but I am going
- 22:43basketball, ladies and gentlemen and I, this is a curveball for
- 22:47you guys. Ladies and gentlemen, Ben
- 22:49Simmons, Yes, turn down a contract offer with the New York
- 22:54Knicks. Per Mark Stein, New York offered
- 22:57Simmons in a one year minimum deal, but former All Star passed
- 23:02on hoping he would get more. What does that smell, ladies and
- 23:06gentlemen? Well, it smells.
- 23:07Good grief. Thank God he didn't take that
- 23:11contract. I don't want to see him on my
- 23:12bench. I don't want to see him in
- 23:14Madison Square Garden. I don't want to see him on my
- 23:16God damn court. I don't want to see him.
- 23:18I'm so happy as a Nick fan that this man is not a part of my
- 23:23roster. He's a cancer, he's a dud, and
- 23:26he's definitely not like a glove, as you know.
- 23:29What did he call Jim Carrey said.
- 23:31Like a glove. He doesn't fit like a glove.
- 23:34We got to ask OJ on that one. Anyways, my golf clap of the day
- 23:37goes to the New York Knicks. Thank God he did not choose the
- 23:42New York Knicks. So golf clap of the day, baby.
- 23:45Golf clap of the day. Anyways, speedy stat of the
- 23:48week. The Speedy.
- 23:51Well, you may run like me, but you hit like stat of the week.
- 23:58All. Right fish, you'll definitely
- 24:02like this one this week and believe it or not, I am actually
- 24:05going to give positive praise to a Chargers player in a plot
- 24:09twist and that is Joe Alt Joe Alt obviously turning into one
- 24:12of the best tackles in the league already and this was his
- 24:15first game at left tackle, had the highest pass blocking grade
- 24:18for any starting offensive tackle ever in week one since
- 24:21the advanced sets. The Next Gen. sets started
- 24:24getting tracked. A 94 point 91.4 pass blocking
- 24:27grade 41 pass blocking snaps which is high for a Greg Roman
- 24:30offense and 0 pressure is 100% production store 99%.
- 24:35Athletic score is the highest ever for an offensive tackle in
- 24:39the next Gen. sets era and it was his first game ever playing
- 24:41left tackle. He was a right tackle last year
- 24:43when Slater was healthy. I love Bolt and and we've seen
- 24:46what he can be and we've seen him in college.
- 24:47He was a top draft pick. He's expected to be this type of
- 24:51player now. The fact that he jumped from
- 24:53right tackle to left tackle after Slater gone, he went out
- 24:57early. It didn't Remember, this was
- 24:59early in the preseason. This guy went down and he's out
- 25:02for the season. This guy got and Slater just got
- 25:04a big, huge contract from the Chargers and now he's out for
- 25:07the season. This is the second injury.
- 25:09This this reminds me of Elijah Vera Tucker, but Elijah Vera
- 25:11Tucker didn't get a contract. Slater got a contract and now
- 25:14he's out for a full season. But Joe Alt is a sensational
- 25:17player. He's going to be a sensational
- 25:20tackle. And maybe when Slater comes
- 25:21back, you move him to right tackle and leave Alt there,
- 25:23right? Maybe that's the way to do it
- 25:25because Slater might might be more healthier than that
- 25:28position than playing the left tackle position.
- 25:30That's what I would think. I mean, if old continues doing
- 25:33what he's doing right now, just like I think Tipman, if Tipman
- 25:36plays well at the guard position, like he took over when
- 25:39when with the injury, his rookie season and his PFF was so high,
- 25:45I think that's what I think that's what they need to do.
- 25:47I think Tipman should stay at the guard position and The Jets
- 25:50go first center and Alt should stay at the left tackle
- 25:52position. It's a great story and and I
- 25:54love Joelt. Congratulations to him.
- 25:57You know the only reason Joe Alt plays right tackle is because
- 26:00they had a top five left tackle in the league when they drafted
- 26:03him because he was a left tackle in college.
- 26:05He was the best left tackle in college that year and the two in
- 26:09the year before that as well. He's incredible.
- 26:11He's the only lineman Speedy I you were talking about earlier
- 26:14tonight with the Colts, Quentin Nelson.
- 26:17I actually was that year. That's the year that the Giants
- 26:20took Saquon at two. I was calling for them to trade
- 26:23back to five to take Quentin Nelson and then get Nick Chubb
- 26:26at the top of the second round, which I still think would have
- 26:29been a better outcome than what ended up happening.
- 26:31But at the same time, that's the last time an offensive lineman
- 26:36got me like this. Pretty pumped up about like line
- 26:39play Alt is this guy looks. Would you move Slater to your
- 26:43right tackle position if Alt has it?
- 26:45Alt. Time now when he comes back, yes
- 26:47I agree with you because the only reason Alt wasn't there is
- 26:51because you had a great one there.
- 26:53But Alt might be the best in the world.
- 26:55So. Over there, if he's only top
- 26:59ten, I think that's what you do. Yeah.
- 27:01All look unbelievable. Unbelievable.
- 27:03And an old still has been pretty healthy, so if he.
- 27:08Was young, yeah. So I agree with, I agree with
- 27:11everything. And I was talking to I was
- 27:12speaking to somebody about that. I didn't know the statistics,
- 27:15but Alt was unbelievable, his first her first game at left
- 27:18tackle. And I was speaking to a friend
- 27:20of mine that's a Charger fan. And I said if Slater comes back
- 27:23and all has like an all world season at the left tackle
- 27:26position, do you move? Do you put Slater at the right
- 27:28tackle position? Is Slater the highest paid right
- 27:30tackle of all time? He might be because I think alt
- 27:34is all world and he might be the best tackle in league.
- 27:37Like you said, fish. I think it's sensational to
- 27:39watch and by the way, I think the Chargers are going to be a
- 27:42very hard team to beat this year.
- 27:44I think Justin Herbert is going to be an MVP candidate.
- 27:47As we saw in Week 1, he was sensational, so.
- 27:51So that brings us to our favorite segment, doesn't it?
- 27:56It's the whip around the whip. Whip, whip around.
- 28:05I had to take a shit. I guess that's where Chop is
- 28:09going. Or maybe or maybe his dogs doing
- 28:13that. Let's start right where we What
- 28:16happened right there? That's not the right one.
- 28:18This is the right one, guys. Let's talk about the two early
- 28:22games since you started with the Chargers and Joe Alt, let's pick
- 28:25up with their 27 to 21 victory. Yeah, Justin freaking Herbert,
- 28:31domination of the Chiefs defense in that game, including Chris
- 28:36Jones diving inside, being undisciplined in the final play,
- 28:40like mattered in the game, at least with Herbert with a very
- 28:43awesome looking slide like he had been practicing that one to
- 28:47seal the game against the Chiefs.
- 28:48Mahomes look great. Not going to say he didn't.
- 28:51Kelsey had a touchdown. It was wide open.
- 28:53That was all Andy Reid, I think, but that was pretty impressive
- 28:57game Meryl for for Harbaugh and the Chargers.
- 29:00I think the Chargers, after watching the Broncos in Week 1,
- 29:04I don't know if the Broncos are going to have enough offense
- 29:07from what their defense showed us in Week 1, and that's going
- 29:10to be a problem. I think the Chargers are good
- 29:12defensively and I think they're good offensively.
- 29:14They can run the ball. We saw that.
- 29:16And and, and again, they're dangerous because what they can
- 29:20do on the offensive line now, if Joel Alt is an all world left
- 29:23tackle, that could be one of the better lines in all the
- 29:26football. They're going to be able to run
- 29:28behind him him and they're going to be able to throw with the
- 29:30weapons that they have. And by the way, Allen is back
- 29:32over there with the Chargers had a touchdown, played very well.
- 29:36He's the blanket for Justin Herbert.
- 29:38And you can see their trust and the combination that they have
- 29:41over there. And I think it's going to open
- 29:42up the field for them. And, and Johnston might have a
- 29:45good season because Allen's there.
- 29:47I think this could be a different offense than they were
- 29:49last year. And I think they could be the
- 29:51very good a very good team. And Jim Harbaugh, we all know he
- 29:55is a good NFL coach. I, I I wouldn't be surprised if
- 29:59they make a run in the playoffs. Yeah, the thing I was
- 30:01questioning most with the Chargers was two things.
- 30:03One, the obviously the outside receivers, because Quentin
- 30:05Johnson's been very up and down, mostly down throughout his
- 30:08career with a lot of drops, a lot of issues running routes.
- 30:10He had two touchdowns in this game.
- 30:11Can you keep it up? Will be a question.
- 30:13And then their defense, it seemed like a natural regression
- 30:15type thing for their defense, but they played very well
- 30:17rushing the passer in that game, still doing a good job stopping
- 30:19the run against the Chiefs, which obviously the Chiefs
- 30:21running backs aren't great, but they still have a very good
- 30:23offensive line. They want every battle that they
- 30:25need. I think Allen takes the pressure
- 30:27away from Johnson. That's what I think.
- 30:29And I I think that's why I think Johnston is going to have a
- 30:31better season this year because Allen is there and he's a leader
- 30:35and and you can see the difference of this team when
- 30:38he's on the football field. I love it.
- 30:39And that's why I took Keenan Allen.
- 30:41I think he's going to have closer to 1000 yards than people
- 30:44think. He's that type of player, you.
- 30:45Remember how big Jeff was on Quinton Johnson out of the
- 30:48draft? He was thought as big he was to
- 30:49be the next big thing. And a lot of these times these
- 30:51bigger bodied receivers in today's game with these motion
- 30:53offenses have not been able to develop.
- 30:55But this is a good start for him in a year three to take a lead.
- 30:58Trust coaching. Who's one of the best coaches in
- 31:01the world? Jim Harbaugh and talking about.
- 31:05Thickest glasses too, by the way.
- 31:08Magnifying glasses. If it's favorite.
- 31:13There's a guy who likes to wear a visor, sometimes backwards,
- 31:16who coaches the Dallas Cowboys, and the Dallas Cowboys fell to
- 31:21the Philadelphia Eagles defending champions 2420.
- 31:24And what I would say was one of the dumbest football games I've
- 31:26watched in a very, very long time.
- 31:29No defense was played in the first half of that football
- 31:32game. It just looked like they were
- 31:33not ready to play either side. The Cowboys played man coverage
- 31:37and left no one to guard hurt, so he scrambled all over the
- 31:40place for a tune of 62 yards and two touchdowns.
- 31:43Eagles were caught. You know they were leading the
- 31:46whole way, but they were sloppy as hell and made lots of
- 31:49mistakes and let the Cowboys hang around.
- 31:51But lo and behold, not enough Eagles win.
- 31:54I think what really stood out was Jalen Carter spitting on Dak
- 31:58Prescott and getting thrown out of the game and could be
- 32:00suspended for multiple games after the fact.
- 32:03The NFL is going to investigate. It was just absolutely terrible
- 32:05to watch and disrespectful to the game And some of the young
- 32:09kids that are watching game number one on Thursday Night
- 32:11Football watching the Eagles get their ring and and hoist their
- 32:15their batter up as the champion. And then the first the first
- 32:19play of the game of the 1st 2 plays of the game.
- 32:21Jalen Carter, who's one of the best defensive players in the
- 32:24league, spits on Dak Prescott and gets thrown out of the game
- 32:27and affects the game. Some kid in college did it too.
- 32:30No, what are we doing? I don't get it.
- 32:33It's the the most disrespectful thing you can do to a football
- 32:36game and and a football player. So, and, and I'll say this, I
- 32:40think the Cowboys defense played a lot better than I thought they
- 32:42were going to play. Losing a guy of Michael Parson's
- 32:46stature and then showing up and playing as well as they did
- 32:48against. Yeah, Hurts had a good game, but
- 32:51a lot of the other players really didn't.
- 32:52And I thought it was very impressive what the Cowboys did
- 32:55and they had a chance to win. But CD Lamb, who the beef wanted
- 32:59to blame Dak Prescott, which I thought he made two fantastic
- 33:03passes. CD Lamb couldn't hold on to the
- 33:05ball, but guess what? Cowboy fans want to blame Dak
- 33:09Prescott for the loss. I, I, by the way, Dak played a
- 33:12very good game. I was very impressed with Dak.
- 33:14And even at the end of the game, handling it, the way he handled
- 33:18it, especially the Jaylen Carter thing, very respectful and, and
- 33:21something that you, you want your quarterback to do.
- 33:23So I, I think the Cowboys are going to be a lot better than
- 33:26people think they're going to be.
- 33:27Yeah. Their defense actually took a
- 33:29lot of big strides in game one. I, I, I like their draft, I like
- 33:32some of the young players, but I, I wasn't sure how it would be
- 33:34in game one. Saquon Barkley was a non factor.
- 33:37A.J. Brown was a non factor.
- 33:38Devante Smith was a non factor. That's a good sign for a young
- 33:41defense like that. Yes, there were other guys that
- 33:43went off Dallas Goddard had a nice game.
- 33:45Some of the backup running backs for Philly definitely played
- 33:47well. But if those three guys are shut
- 33:50down, like most of the time, you'll win those games.
- 33:52That's obviously they. Should have, yeah.
- 33:54The Cowboys offense definitely still suspect in some areas too,
- 33:58and. The beef would have blamed Zach
- 33:59Prescott, even if the. Beef wants Joe Milton to take
- 34:02over for whatever. Reason he's out of his mind and
- 34:04I'll absolutely I'll finish. It off with this shout out to
- 34:07one of our former guests of our show from a while back, Ian
- 34:10Harditz, who now worked for Pro Football Focus CD.
- 34:13Lamb has four, four drops in that game.
- 34:16That is the most innate football game, a single football game
- 34:18since Jerry Judy his rookie year in 2020.
- 34:21What 5? Yeah, I, I will give him credit
- 34:25though, he did own up to it and was like, yeah, but I mean,
- 34:28you're never going to see that again.
- 34:29And and probably the one catch was if he would have made it
- 34:33would have been unbelievable, the diving one.
- 34:34But there were some just right in his hands and he'll never do
- 34:37it again. But yeah, it's just I, it's here
- 34:40in in the Midwest, we our fandom is a little different.
- 34:44And so the Cowboys are kind of like the Yankees and the Braves
- 34:47are just because you got to watch them the most.
- 34:48So just watching the Cowboys fans heart breaks that can
- 34:52literally name like two people that aren't really Cowboys fans.
- 34:55It's interesting to watch. You know what I loved about it,
- 34:57Jabba? What I loved about it is, is the
- 34:59beef had Williams and he didn't play them and he had two
- 35:02touchdowns. It was so funny and how crazy he
- 35:05was. On his bench.
- 35:06He was on his bench. It was so funny.
- 35:08He sat there like, I can't believe I didn't play Williams
- 35:11and I left my answer off, I said.
- 35:14That's one of the best, like, conversations or texts you get.
- 35:17Like when you see it's just people like, oh, really?
- 35:21He had 39 points. And I'm like, oh, really?
- 35:23Yeah. My bench.
- 35:24I think Carter. Carter had somebody like that
- 35:26this week, too. And I'm just.
- 35:27Like, oh, it's so funny. Those are the best reactions.
- 35:30Oh, it was so funny how he jumped in and then he blamed Dak
- 35:33Prescott after the whole game. I just, I don't want to hear it
- 35:35anymore. I don't want to hear it.
- 35:36Dak is a good quarterback. Bee, if you're listening, stop
- 35:40with the bitching. I'm sorry I had to go.
- 35:42Here we go. All right, let's get to the next
- 35:45one. We're going to go a little more
- 35:47quickly to these Buccaneers and Falcons.
- 35:49Very close game. Fun game to watch.
- 35:52Really good one. I had it open just a second ago,
- 35:56but Baker Mayfield 3 touchdown passes in that game.
- 35:59We all know that Baker is doing it.
- 36:01Who did he throw to? Two touchdowns to?
- 36:03Rookie wide receiver and Mecca Ibuka.
- 36:07Pretty impressive rookie debut for the receiver and Bijon
- 36:12Robinson had 100 yards receiving in a touchdown in the loss for
- 36:15the Falcons. Real close defensive battle.
- 36:18Surprisingly the Bengals and the Browns.
- 36:21Bengals eat that one out. 1716 you.
- 36:26That's what happened. You couldn't kick a ball through
- 36:29the friggin hole. That's all I'm going to say
- 36:31about it. 2 field goal kicks missed and he had a chance to
- 36:36take it to overtime and maybe, maybe win the game.
- 36:40I thought the Falcons played very well.
- 36:42Bijon Robinson a beast I would have loved to see in overtime
- 36:45because that would have helped my fantasy league and my fantasy
- 36:47team but didn't happen that way. That's all I got to say about
- 36:51that. So as.
- 36:51Somebody with Baker and Ibuka in the same league as you have,
- 36:54anything with Beach, I definitely would have proved
- 36:56that. I was obviously, obviously at
- 36:58Buca in his first game, taking over for Chris Godwin, playing
- 37:01very well, Bizon receiving too. That was a very good game plan
- 37:04on the Falcons side as well. Todd Bowles loves to blitz.
- 37:08They're immune to pass catching running backs and Michael Pennix
- 37:10was duressed a lot of the time against the Tampa passers.
- 37:13I think he held his own effort. He's good, Yeah.
- 37:15Michael Pennix is good, I think. I think he's proven a.
- 37:18Good place too. That was the 4th and goal when
- 37:20they scored and, you know, the extra effort right at the end.
- 37:24Yeah, I just, I, I think, I think those games, him coming in
- 37:27that we had a conversation. I can't remember who we had on,
- 37:29but it was like, oh, he's not going to play.
- 37:31But I think those games did help him, those last.
- 37:33That was OB last year because he, we, that was the rumors we
- 37:37were. Wondering is like, is he going
- 37:38to give it up? Yeah.
- 37:39Because there were rumors, oh, they're going to switch it now.
- 37:41Then two weeks after we have him on the show, week 15, they
- 37:44switch it. Yeah.
- 37:46And we were like, oh, they're not going to do it.
- 37:47He was like, not going to do it. But yeah, I think, you know,
- 37:49they had their chance. But yeah, I think Phoenix is is
- 37:52going to be the real deal for sure.
- 37:54You know, Miles Garrett can dominate a game and he really
- 37:58almost won that game for them. He had two sacks on the day.
- 38:01He had five solo tackles, 4 tackles for a loss.
- 38:06You know, so that's you. Got paid enough 4 TfL you got
- 38:09paid enough. You know what I mean?
- 38:10Like. Think about how important the
- 38:13pass rushing position is, if you could do that with that complete
- 38:17shit show around you and still almost beat a team that has
- 38:20allegedly a great offense. Take a look at what happened to
- 38:24those receivers and quarterback Joe Burrow. 113 yards, one
- 38:28touchdown. The touchdown was to Noah Fant,
- 38:30who I didn't realize was over there this year.
- 38:32T Higgins, 3 catches, 33 yards. Jamar Chase, number one pick in
- 38:37most fantasy drafts. 2 catch, 26 yards on five targets.
- 38:41I'm not surprised. They don't really start off
- 38:44strong. The fact that they won this game
- 38:46is because they played the Cleveland Browns and again, the
- 38:50Cleveland Browns don't have a quarterback.
- 38:52Joe Flacco, old man Joe is probably going to lose his job
- 38:55in the next two or three weeks. We're going to see what these
- 38:57other kids are going to do. Maybe we see Shadora at one
- 39:00point this year. I doubt it, but I want to see
- 39:03Dylan Gabriel. I think if if he gets a chance
- 39:05to prove himself, I think he's AI think he's a lot better than
- 39:09people think. But I they played the Browns,
- 39:11Miles Garrett's sensational. We all know he can ruin a game.
- 39:16And to me, Joe Flacco is the quarterback.
- 39:20He's like 40-50 years old and, and I don't think the Browns are
- 39:23going to win that many games. So that that was the problem.
- 39:26The Bengals were lucky they played the Browns in game number
- 39:28one or they would have lost that game.
- 39:29Yeah, pretty much. Between the fact that they
- 39:31always start slow, the fact that they always struggle in
- 39:33Cleveland for whatever reason, I think they only won once since
- 39:36Borough got drafted in Cleveland and the Browns defense we knew
- 39:39was still going to create problems for that Bengals
- 39:41offensive line. So one thing I will give the
- 39:43Browns a lot of positive credit for is their young running back.
- 39:46One that is on my a lot of my fantasy benches.
- 39:48Dylan Sampson actually had a very good game too.
- 39:49I think he had 7 catches, efficient run or two considering
- 39:53all the offensive line injuries that they had.
- 39:55Besides that, not much upside to and a bad kicker for the Browns.
- 39:58So. Yeah, there, there was bad, I
- 40:01mean bad kicking all around, but that's that's kind of the last
- 40:06few years. That's really what it is.
- 40:07And then you got the massage parlor kickers too, that
- 40:11sometimes, you know, getting away to.
- 40:12Tucker. Oh yeah, that's that's that's
- 40:16what it was. He's going to tuck it.
- 40:20When he wasn't tucking it, obviously.
- 40:22Speaking of Tuck, the Tuck Rule team the the Raiders defeated
- 40:27the Patriots. The Tuck Rule game from years
- 40:29and years ago. See how I did that at 20 to 13
- 40:32and the same score between the Cardinals and the Saints, also
- 40:3720 to 13 in those games. The Raiders, Geno Smith 362
- 40:42yards passing, a touchdown and a pick.
- 40:45Ashton Gente is first touchdown in the NFL on the ground.
- 40:49Brock Bowers over 100 yards, came out of the game with an
- 40:52injury. I think he's probably OK Booty
- 40:56with 103 yards for New England. Everyone's favorite you saw.
- 41:01Jeff's boy. Yep.
- 41:03Kay, Sean Booty. I don't think Drake May is top
- 41:07five in the league as of now, but he had a good, relatively
- 41:13good game 30 of 46 to 87 touchdown and a pick.
- 41:17In the other game, the Cardinals, they outlasted the
- 41:20dreadful Saints 20th, 3rd. Game was tough to watch.
- 41:24Which only can be described as a suck fest the entire time.
- 41:29Brutal game. Kyler Murray 163 yards, 2
- 41:32touchdowns in the on the in the air, 1 to Marvin Harrison Junior
- 41:36who had a good game, 5 catches, 71 yards.
- 41:39The Saints. Spencer Rattler not much going
- 41:42on. Kamara had a touchdown on the
- 41:44ground. Their top receiver was their
- 41:46tight ends. Juan Johnson Olave had 54 yards.
- 41:52I, I think Ashton Gente and obviously Brock Bowers are going
- 41:55to be really, really good when it comes to fantasy.
- 41:58I, I, I also think Geno Smith is going to be really, really good.
- 42:01Pete Carroll is going to run the ball, run the ball, run the
- 42:04ball. I think you're going to see that
- 42:06even more as the season moves forward as far as the Cardinals
- 42:10are concerned. The Cardinals, to me, this is
- 42:13Kyla Murray's last year to prove himself.
- 42:15If he doesn't prove himself this year, I could see the Cardinals
- 42:18probably moving him or trading him in the offseason or just
- 42:21paying him out and letting him do whatever the hell he wants.
- 42:24I mean, he's Russell Wilson esque.
- 42:26He's been horrible. I thought this kid was going to
- 42:28be special. He's fallen off the last two
- 42:30years ever since he started talking in a third person.
- 42:33So I, I don't know, I I I'm done with the Cardinals.
- 42:36I don't know what the Hell's going on with them.
- 42:38And Harrison Junior. I thought Harrison Junior was
- 42:40going to be some special guy. He's going to put up.
- 42:43Yeah. We we talked about just saying
- 42:44he was going to have he'd come out and have a good.
- 42:46I don't know what's going on with him, man.
- 42:48I have no idea what's going on. He's not his father, that's for
- 42:51sure. No, not, not.
- 42:53Not many of them are. But and Kyler Murray, like
- 42:55you're saying, may be out this year because most of his
- 42:58guaranteed money is gone after this year.
- 42:59So it's the same situation like the Giants had last year with
- 43:01Daniel Jones. That's why they were able to get
- 43:03rid of them. They kept him on.
- 43:05Remember, the Cardinals kept him on the roster when we thought,
- 43:07oh, they're going to tank and just draft a quarterback number
- 43:09one in the draft. And then they stuck with him.
- 43:11But not a great passing showcase so far.
- 43:14As far as the Raiders, definitely a good defensive
- 43:15identity that we're seeing out of Pete Carroll.
- 43:17And for New England, they're going to have to find some other
- 43:19receivers rather than just having one random one emerge
- 43:21like Boot Tech. Yeah, they were the the
- 43:25Cardinals Saints game speaks for itself.
- 43:27There really wasn't much going on there.
- 43:29Raiders, I think are going to be good.
- 43:30I like Pete Carroll and and what he does and I think he has the
- 43:33guys around him to do it. And the Patriots is kind of a
- 43:36flip of a coin for me right now. Yeah, I think it might have been
- 43:394 bad teams in this box of four. Two games right here.
- 43:43So let's move on to some teams that aren't so bad.
- 43:46Well, actually most of these teams are bad also.
- 43:49Sorry the Broncos aren't though. The Broncos and the Titans, 20
- 43:53to 12. Broncos outlast the Titans.
- 43:55Both Knicks actually threw a couple of picks in this game
- 43:58after being pretty accurate last year.
- 44:00But you know, that game was in hand the entire way.
- 44:03Pretty good defense and not you know, Cam Ward some moments, you
- 44:08know, some moments didn't look terrible out there.
- 44:10I would say obviously nothing special they lost, but the
- 44:13Broncos everyone think has a top defense in the league going into
- 44:16that one and the Jaguars destroyed the Panthers.
- 44:19It's not like anyone had a great game.
- 44:21I think except for at the end, played well, which led to.
- 44:24Surprisingly. Getting Tank Bigsby just got
- 44:27traded this evening and I put it in our last sports minute for
- 44:301/5 in a sixth round pick so we can back up Saquon Barkley in
- 44:34Philadelphia, which is a fascinating move by the Eagles.
- 44:37Which I was still, I was thinking Bigsby was going to be
- 44:40the starting running back over there with the Jaguars, and ETN
- 44:43shows up and he actually plays well in game #1 and he wins back
- 44:48his job. Not surprised.
- 44:50I always drafted ETN every single year and the guy did
- 44:53nothing for me. And now all of a sudden I didn't
- 44:55draft him and now he's doing everything.
- 44:57Typical, typical. And by the way, the Gremlin, I'm
- 45:01going to tell you this right now.
- 45:03He stinks and we're going to watch him fall flat on his face.
- 45:06I said, and I'll say it again, this guy is going to have seven
- 45:10seasons in the NFL and he will be done.
- 45:12What a terrible move for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 45:15I know you're going to sit there and make excuses and say it's
- 45:18only game #1 he did not look good in game #1 as far as the
- 45:21Broncos, you didn't. Like his hair?
- 45:22His haircut. Dude, I can't stand him.
- 45:24I can't stand the way he looks. I can't stand the way he talks.
- 45:28I don't. I can't stand the way he dances
- 45:30on the sidelines, which he was doing it six or seven times
- 45:32during the game when the music was going on.
- 45:34I watched the game just to laugh at him.
- 45:36OK. And I got my Gremlin jersey,
- 45:38which I got specially made. Don't worry, when it comes in,
- 45:40I'll be wearing it on the show. As far as the Broncos are
- 45:43concerned, we all know what the Broncos are going to be.
- 45:46Bo Nicks did not have a great day.
- 45:47If Bo Nicks has a sophomore year, this team is doing
- 45:50nothing. I I just don't think they have
- 45:52enough depth at the wide receiving position.
- 45:54You saw that in game #1 the Titans are a good defense.
- 45:57They showed themselves to be a good defense.
- 45:59They just have no offense. I feel bad for Ward.
- 46:02Yeah, the Titans have a good defense that we thought was
- 46:04going to play well. It's just a matter of how much
- 46:06their offense was going to be on the field because they got worn
- 46:08down last year. Now, their offense was not great
- 46:10in this game, obviously, but it's tough going against that
- 46:12level of a defense like the Broncos have.
- 46:14I think Ward still held his own. He made some iffy decisions,
- 46:17throwing deep at times I think, but.
- 46:18Tennessee's offensive line was terrible.
- 46:20I know they're they're never, they've never been the same
- 46:22offensive line. I think really since those that
- 46:24core with Lawan and Conklin, they haven't really drafted well
- 46:26dude. Ward was running for dear life
- 46:28the whole game. He was running away, Yeah, he
- 46:31was running backwards. See, I thought he was going to
- 46:33run to the the opposite end zone half the game the way they were
- 46:36attacking is. Too good.
- 46:38Yeah, Yeah. Don't you think that?
- 46:39No, of course their defense is too good.
- 46:41And I think also you when the Titans have trouble drafting
- 46:43wide receivers too, it's a lot. By the way, Brian Thomas is a
- 46:46beast. Like I told everybody, a beast
- 46:49and he's going to have a beastly season.
- 46:51He was running the ball, too. They actually used him in the
- 46:53running game, too. Good idea you've.
- 46:55Seen Tampa to use with Godwin as well at point, so that's an
- 46:58interesting facet to their offense.
- 47:00ETN. I'm not going to jump the gun
- 47:01with him. The Carolina Panthers have a
- 47:02horrible front 7, so I'm not going to go as far as to say,
- 47:05all right, he's back as a runner.
- 47:07I really liked him as a prospect at the time.
- 47:08I thought he fell off after his third year, but it's a promising
- 47:12start. I'm not going to jump the gun
- 47:13though. Yeah, these are all, I mean,
- 47:16especially with the Titans Cam award.
- 47:17But it it's that's a tough draw with the Broncos defense and Cam
- 47:21just running for his life and going into it.
- 47:24He probably knew that, but probably not as bad as it is.
- 47:27The Jags. It's I I think a lot of people
- 47:29tuned into that game just because of Travis Hunter.
- 47:31It's it's I know you hate to hear that arrow, but a lot of
- 47:34people it's it's you, it's you want to see him fail, you want
- 47:37to see him succeed and whatever. So it's it'll be interesting to
- 47:41see how that plays out. I don't know if the seven years
- 47:45is going to be whatever. I think it's going to switch
- 47:47because he's going to play one position.
- 47:48But that's just my opinion. I agree with you, but.
- 47:51Yeah, it's. Yeah, I think it'll happen
- 47:53because his body just won't take it.
- 47:55I saw. Did you guys see the commercial
- 47:57with him and Trevor Lawrence when they're running out?
- 47:58Yes, his legs are. Tiny.
- 48:00I'm telling you, I was standing right next to him.
- 48:03Literally. I was 5 feet away from him and
- 48:06he's like toothpicks for legs. They're toothpicks.
- 48:10I can actually stick them between my teeth.
- 48:12OK, that's how so how thin his legs.
- 48:15I don't know how he lasts in the NFL.
- 48:17Somebody is going to kill that guy with his mouth and the way
- 48:20he he talks on the field and speaks on the field, somebody is
- 48:23going to close line the guy because the whole game he was
- 48:26talking. He guys.
- 48:28If you watch the game, every single time I was I have the I
- 48:32have the stick. I think you get to watch and see
- 48:34things that you don't see on television.
- 48:36The guy was dancing on the sideline when there were songs.
- 48:39The dude, you're not that good and you're dancing around like
- 48:42you've done something. You did nothing.
- 48:44You average 5.5 a catch and you're dancing around on the
- 48:48sidelines. Give me a break.
- 48:49Errol's gonna Instead of watching the football game,
- 48:51she's gonna have surveillance camera on Travis Hunter.
- 48:53I. Can't stand the guy, all right?
- 48:55I can't stand him. All right.
- 48:56Next up. That's next time.
- 48:58Yeah, you know, we don't have to talk about Hunter.
- 49:00We got one more block of games to go all.
- 49:02Right, let's go. The 49ers beat the Seahawks in a
- 49:06defensive battle, 17 to 13. The Packers were all over the
- 49:11Lions 2713. And in another tough one to
- 49:15watch, the Rams beat up on the Texans, their lack of ability to
- 49:19block a soul on the front. Unfortunately for CJ Stroud, 14
- 49:25and nine, a couple of really big performances, Christian
- 49:29McCaffrey, people that weren't sure he was going to be able to
- 49:32play well, kind of got to his old tricks. 69 yards on the
- 49:35ground, 73 through the air, 31 total touches.
- 49:39Ricky Pierce, all 108 yards and Brock Purdy, 277 yards. 2
- 49:44touchdowns, 2 picks. They don't know if he's going to
- 49:47play next week, and it looks like Kittle has a bad hamstring
- 49:51injury. He might miss it more than a few
- 49:52games. It said multiple weeks for
- 49:55Kittle, didn't it? Yeah, it's looks like it's going
- 49:58to be at least a Grade 2 hammy for Kittle.
- 50:00That's not a good sign for the one and only San Francisco 49ers
- 50:04guys, because I I Christian Caffrey's a beast, but he's not
- 50:08100% healthy. He was.
- 50:09A lot of people didn't even think he was going to play in
- 50:11this game. He had a great game since age
- 50:13and all. They played the Seahawks.
- 50:14OK, stop. All right, right.
- 50:16I see the Seahawks. I picked the Seahawks to win
- 50:19because they were at home. The Seahawks didn't really play
- 50:21a very good game. Seeing Donald was horrible in
- 50:23the game and you can see why Minnesota decided to part ways
- 50:26with him. But I don't know.
- 50:28McCarthy is not having a great day either.
- 50:30So nothing said about I'll be. Back next next year with them.
- 50:33I will say this about the Packers.
- 50:35The Packers are the team to beat now with Michael Parsons there,
- 50:38they're they're even scarier. This defense is elite.
- 50:42They're the youngest team in football.
- 50:43They got weapons all over the field.
- 50:45Look at the wide receivers they have.
- 50:47They have read Dubs, they have golden who barely even played.
- 50:51They got they got weapons tight ends, they they've got craft.
- 50:55They're this team is fantastic and they're so they have so much
- 51:00depth and Jordan Love could be the MVP of the league this year.
- 51:03I they're scary good. You saw them against a very good
- 51:06Detroit lion team. Scary good.
- 51:08That's all I'm going to say. Lions, don't worry, Lion fans,
- 51:11don't worry, They're going to be fine.
- 51:12I think they'll be fine. They're definitely making the,
- 51:14they're just not winning the division.
- 51:16No. And the Packers winning in the
- 51:17trenches, I think was the biggest in that game because the
- 51:20Packers, I questioned their offensive line a little bit in
- 51:22their defense. Obviously he's had issues with
- 51:23the the rotation of the defensive lineman in the past,
- 51:26but they dominate the lines on both sides of the ball.
- 51:28And like I was saying, like the Packers have built this core on
- 51:31not paying any wide receivers big contracts.
- 51:33They pay Jordan Love and they're going to trust these young
- 51:35receivers to make that kind. Of and they pay Michael Parsons
- 51:37a lot of money. And obviously they pay Michael
- 51:38Parsons too, but and. Boy oh boy did he show up in the
- 51:41fourth quarter. Who's close lies?
- 51:43Close lies, people. Immediate impact.
- 51:45Immediate impact from Parsons. Well, you were describing too
- 51:49about going to the Seattle game. Seattle doesn't.
- 51:51They have a good interior defensive lineman.
- 51:52They're kind of questionable everywhere else in their front
- 51:54seven. I think San Francisco kind of
- 51:55took advantage of that. Even when Cable got hurt, you
- 51:57saw them use the other tight ends as well.
- 51:59And I think that's a good game planning adjustment.
- 52:01I think Clint Kubiak with Seattle kind of was a little too
- 52:03predictable and Kyle Shanahan knew that.
- 52:05And the Rams winning with their defense that that Texans
- 52:07offensive line we talked about as being bad.
- 52:09The Rams blitzed and they made CJ Stroud the rest.
- 52:11And I, again, the Rams just got to figure things out.
- 52:14They've got weapons, there's no question.
- 52:16And Devante Adams, he didn't have a big day, but he'll be
- 52:18fine. He's going to figure things out
- 52:20in the McVeigh offense. And we all know what Puka Nakua
- 52:23is. And and Ky and Kyron Williams,
- 52:26he's one when he is healthy, he's one of the elite running
- 52:29backs in all the football. So I know it wasn't an offensive
- 52:33game for the the Rams, but they'll figure it out.
- 52:36They're a very good young defensive team.
- 52:38Could you imagine if Aaron Donald comes back and and tries
- 52:42to win a Super Bowl with the team and how scary they would be
- 52:44at the front seven? Oh my God, Scary good.
- 52:48Really, really scary. So.
- 52:49Yeah, if he comes back to, it's not only the fact that he's
- 52:52good, but that the fact that you bring another mind and a body
- 52:55that can help those young kids too.
- 52:56And they, they they're super talented.
- 52:59I love McVeigh as a coach. Like I said before, I added that
- 53:03he's got a hot wife now. And CJ Stroud, you know what
- 53:08it's, I think he's going to, I think he's going to break out a
- 53:11little bit. I like his game a little bit.
- 53:13I think Jordan Love is is the real deal.
- 53:17Just smooth. It comes out very, very easy.
- 53:20He's fun to watch for me and I don't the the Niners.
- 53:24I mean, now you got McCaffrey. It's it's not when he gets hurt
- 53:29or if and when it's it's going to happen.
- 53:31He's never going to be 100%. But I mean, it's 50 yards
- 53:35receiving and 50 yards rushing. He's second all time with 31.
- 53:38Like he's consistently done it for a long time.
- 53:41Brock Purdy. I don't know that that throw to
- 53:44Tungus, he was behind the he was behind the defender and came and
- 53:48routed for him. That wasn't a great pass.
- 53:50I mean, he was celebrating like he did something.
- 53:52But Brock, Bertie, Tungus or Tungus, whatever.
- 53:54Brock Bertie had a good game Choppa I I thought Brock.
- 53:57Did, but that pass was horrendous. 100% I know exactly
- 54:01what you're talking about, but they're going to have problems
- 54:04all season long because they can't stay healthy.
- 54:05They won that game. No, I think San Francisco still,
- 54:09I think they're the worst team in his division.
- 54:10I'm watching. Seattle's going to play better.
- 54:13They're going to figure things out.
- 54:14Sam Donald's not this bad. So.
- 54:17And the Jigba actually proved that maybe Fish was right.
- 54:20Nick Jigba might have a big week, big year.
- 54:22And how do you how do you let him like get you knew that they
- 54:26were going to throw the ball like late in the game.
- 54:28That's likely time guard the one dude, don't let him beat you.
- 54:30And they went for like it was like a 47 yard or something.
- 54:33Yeah, it. Doesn't make sense.
- 54:35I don't know. They no one else got open.
- 54:37Cooper Cup got I think 2 catches in that game.
- 54:39He looks weird in that uniform, by the way.
- 54:41He does I look I I for me, the Packers are really a team to
- 54:47beat with Micah Parsons opposite a healthy Rashawn Gary.
- 54:51That's really good edge rushing from a team.
- 54:54And now you have all these other guys inside.
- 54:56They play Walker, really good linebacker edge and Cooper.
- 55:00I I like Xavier McKinney as a first team all pro safety.
- 55:04They have guys at every single level of Ivanta.
- 55:07Why? It's a good interior lineman as
- 55:09well. Like they're just stacked.
- 55:11They've been drafting really, really, really well and they're
- 55:16just coming together. Maybe it's a year ahead of
- 55:18schedule for them, but they're going to be right there in the
- 55:20discussion for a couple years. What I want to see, and you can
- 55:23shut the music, what I want to see, if I'm looking at an AFC
- 55:29and NFC title game, I want to see the Packers and Eagles.
- 55:32That's what I want to see healthy and I want to see
- 55:35Baltimore and Buffalo. I think those would be the four
- 55:39best teams. And that would be interesting to
- 55:42see whoever comes out of those two games who goes to the Super
- 55:45Bowl. That would be a sensational
- 55:46Super Bowl. And that's, that's the way I
- 55:48want to see it because all the other teams in the NFC besides
- 55:52the Packers and Eagles, are you going to bet that they're going
- 55:55to jump in and, and make the playoffs?
- 55:57I mean, and beat any of those teams?
- 55:59I, I just, to me, those are the four best teams, 2 best teams in
- 56:03EFC and two best teams in the NFC.
- 56:05And that's where I want to see, I want to see.
- 56:06So if my prediction, if you were to ask me right now, my
- 56:09prediction right now, who's going to the AFC and NFC title
- 56:12game as long as they stay healthy.
- 56:14I got the Packers and the Eagles in the NFC and the Buffalo Bills
- 56:18in the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC.
- 56:21That's my prediction. Thank you to all the fans that

- 56:49Wednesday? Shout.
- 56:50Out to Nathan for getting this guy, Jordan Ronin.
- 56:52He's the ESPN National NFL Nation reporter national
- 56:55reporter for the New York Football Giants.
- 56:58There you go and I know OU giant fans are going to love his takes
- 57:01about the giants. I know official, you know,
- 57:03probably you know what in his pants, but anyways, it's going.
- 57:07To be terrible, he's going to say the team sucks.
- 57:09You know that's what's going to happen.
- 57:13Is he wrong? No.
- 57:14You you'll probably give them some credit with their defense.
- 57:17I mean, Abdul Carter's good. And then it ends right there.
- 57:20They're great. Listen, you have some kind of
- 57:23future. You have Abdul Carter, you have
- 57:25Burns, and you have Dexter Lawrence.
- 57:28Mr. Sexy Dexy, who, by the way, when he came into the league, I
- 57:32will never get credit for it. I'm the one who gave him that
- 57:34nickname. I called him Sexy Dexy so and
- 57:37that was before he came from Clemson and everything that I
- 57:40called him sexy dexy. I'm telling you, job is shaking
- 57:43his head. I was the one that gave him that
- 57:44nickname. I was the one that gave him that
- 57:46nickname. I need evidence.
- 57:48We'll go back. We'll go back to one of our
- 57:50shows because I have every one of our shows.
- 57:52Yes, I was the one that gave him the nickname.
- 57:56He was playing in the national championship speedy, and I
- 57:59called him Sexy Dexy and I said he I I thought he was going to
- 58:03be a good player going to the NFL when the Giants drafted him
- 58:06too, because I watched him. He dominated in the national
- 58:08championship game. So I remember that's all I'm
- 58:12going to say. And the guy that draft, it was
- 58:14the Raiders that drafted him. I didn't think he was going to
- 58:17be good. Who was the guy who was the pass
- 58:18rush at the Raiders? Yeah, I didn't think he.
- 58:22Was the strange 4th overall pick?
- 58:24Like I thought he was going to be good, but not top five good?
- 58:27Yeah, I didn't think. He was going to be good.
- 58:28I thought Dexter Lawrence had a really good national
- 58:30championship. That was the first of many Mike
- 58:33Mayock. Yes, proving me.
- 58:35Maybe he didn't know what he was talking about.
- 58:37Well, he actually kind of, it actually kind of washed because
- 58:39in the fifth round they drafted Max Crosby.
- 58:41Yes, he did. Yeah, but that's getting lucky.
- 58:43They. Actually drafted Jacobs here,
- 58:45too. That's right.
- 58:46Being bad at drafting in all the other rounds.
- 58:48Yeah, he did. I mean, there he wasn't.
- 58:50Did not a lot of slam dunk. No No 20. 2020 was the worst
- 58:53though. They drafted Henry Ruggs first,
- 58:54then they drafted Damon Arnett who was like a fourth round
- 58:57prospect in the first round that had all field issues.
- 58:59Yeah, that didn't make any sense.
- 59:00Anyways, we'll be back on Wednesday.
- 59:03Until then, this is Errol Jabba, Speedy Fish and the Poop Man
- 59:08saying good night. We'll talk to you then.
- 59:09Good night, everybody. It's the worldwide sports radio
- 59:12network.
