- 0:02Good money mony, mony, Welcome, Welcome, Welcome in its time.
- 0:04Now for car talk right here on K one, the one you trusted.
- 0:08It's Thursday. The sun is shining, the vehicles are colistening at the Dungess
- 0:12Family of Autos. Brad Dungeess and Studio. How you doing, Brad,
- 0:15Good morning, Tom. I'm doing great. It's a beautiful morning. It
- 0:19was out of the dealership. It's kind of cool this morning. It wasn't
- 0:22so bad. It's hard to believe though it's only been a week of summer
- 0:26as warm as it's been a little bit crazy. When you said it was
- 0:30cool this morning, I want you to hang on to that one. Okay,
- 0:32Yeah, No, I think that was a brief, brief bit of
- 0:34you know, just a little respite from all the rain yesterday. That was
- 0:38nice to get that too, and put some dust on the cars. And
- 0:43but you're getting that cleaned off today. And I've seen a lot of people
- 0:46out of the dealership preparing for vacation road trips and getting their vehicles maintained for
- 0:53before the trips. I'm even getting new rides. That's always good. Car
- 0:58business. Been in the news this week ransomware and cyber attacks on one of
- 1:03our main operating systems that dealerships have these things, software systems called dms's to
- 1:08run on everything, and one of the major ones in the country at a
- 1:14cyber attack and it's been down for almost two weeks. Those unfortunate businesses are
- 1:19having to do things the old way on paper and the Dungeons ready to enter
- 1:26their MENTHM process. I just can't even imagine that difficulty. But yes,
- 1:32not a Dungeons, We're not a dungee. We are we are still up
- 1:34in operating, but you have eighty five years experience, so anything like that,
- 1:41we can revert back to the old process. There we Joe could show
- 1:45us. You're right. Yes, I've got a guest here today, Corey
- 1:49Snelson. Say Hi, Corey, Hi, thanks for having me. We
- 1:53sure welcome. We're glad you're here. You're you work at our best and
- 1:56you're the president of Young Professionals Bartlesville. That's great, welcome And YP is
- 2:04one of my favorite organizations, just because you guys always have lots of fun
- 2:08and get people together. And you know a few years ago when I was
- 2:14the president of Chamber, we had you know, I was just involved a
- 2:17whole lot more. But that was you guys do a lot of great work
- 2:22too, and have a lot of events and connect the people that come to
- 2:25Bartlesville often from other parts of the country and stuff to our great community.
- 2:30And that's, uh, I think a really important thing because if Bartlesville is
- 2:34kind of unique and in the I think quality of life stuff we have plus
- 2:38you know, just for the great small town that it is. Yeah,
- 2:42I would say so, Young Professionals, we try to make it a great
- 2:46place to live, work and play here in Bartlesville. And I think we
- 2:50try to do that for current residents but also for future residents. We want
- 2:52to bring people here to Bartlesville to do that, so they can, you
- 2:55know, buy a car, and they can they get help for our employees
- 3:00and the vibrancy of our community to have young people want to live here.
- 3:06Absolutely. Yeah, So we do a lot of things. And I would
- 3:07say so, Brad, if you feel young at heart, you can still
- 3:10be a part of Young Professionals. So twenty one and over, but all
- 3:15the way to young at heart. So if you feel young at heart,
- 3:16you can still be a part of our organization. Hey, Brad, you
- 3:20and I are just old enough. I didn't feel young at heart. I
- 3:27enjoyed what you guys do and I know you just finished up the Hot Street
- 3:30Party for benefiting Bartosool Education Promise. That's a great event we did. Yes,
- 3:36it definitely stood up to its name this year. I think it was
- 3:38one of the hottest days and when we were setting up, I didn't know
- 3:42if we were going to make it, but we did it and we pulled
- 3:45it off and who it was. It was definitely toasty, but it was
- 3:47it was a great time. We enjoyed ourselves for sure. That's good.
- 3:51And I'm sure you've got other activities coming up and we do. We do
- 3:55so we on July ninth. Actually, so every month we try to do
- 4:00some type of social event but also some type of like lunch and learn,
- 4:05and then we also try to do a volunteer event each month. And so
- 4:08in July, so July ninth, at Sooner Junior from five to seven,
- 4:13we're going to do a social there so everyone can come. We have a
- 4:15seventy five people limit, but we're going to pay for everyone to golf and
- 4:20so that's going to be really exciting. So bring your family, bring whoever
- 4:24you'd like to. It's going to be a fun time. And then July
- 4:27eighteenth and twenty fourth, we have a home buying series. So we did
- 4:30this last year and the intent of this is to help people understand whether they're
- 4:34a first time home buyer, or maybe they are this is their second home,
- 4:39or they're just trying to look for something different. We give We bring
- 4:42some experts in and they talk through some different processes and answer questions. So
- 4:46this will be a two day thing, but it is a process. It
- 4:50is such a process, and I feel I've think this is my third house
- 4:55I've purchased, and I still am learning things when I go to these things.
- 4:59So definitely a good lunch and learn process. But that's all on our
- 5:01Facebook page as well. But one that I'm really excited about as well is
- 5:06I know this is a little far away, but on August ninth, we
- 5:11are actually having a Ted talker come in to Bartlesville. Yes, I'm so
- 5:15excited about her. So I've known her for a little while. She's an
- 5:19actress, she's done Ted Talks, different things. But her name is Rena
- 5:24Cook and she's going to come in on August ninth and do a series for
- 5:27us. So she's going to speak on voice and how she is going to
- 5:31talk about how to do a presentation and like take the fear away. And
- 5:36so we're really excited. We feel like we should we could use that as
- 5:41young professionals. Yeah, yeah you can come. Yeah you can go.
- 5:46Yeah, you can come. So we're really excited about that. Yes,
- 5:49so coming grade school. It's so important, you know, after all the
- 5:54thousands of these radio shows I've done, that's one thing that's that's unique about
- 5:58it and why one of reasons I enjoy it so much is that it gives
- 6:01me a chance to kind of practice the storytelling of the dealership and what we
- 6:04do around here and invite people like you from the community on to kind of
- 6:10make it interesting. And you know, so I get what she's doing there.
- 6:13That's very very cool. And so that is was August. Nice.
- 6:17Nice, It's on a Friday. Nana Cook is her name Rina Cook?
- 6:21Yes, she has a website and a YouTube and just and obviously her ted
- 6:26talk. So I encourage us to go check her out and see and sign
- 6:29up for our seminar. Okay, and you know, so I don't know
- 6:33much about your background. Are you from around here or you did? You
- 6:36are you an implant. I am an implant, but I feel like I'm
- 6:41from here now. I've almost been here for nine years, okay, and
- 6:45so my husband actually graduated from here, and so we lived in a Waso,
- 6:48right, and we decided to come here when our kids were getting ready
- 6:53to start school and we were looking and researching and Bartisville one won the draw
- 6:58there and we've we've been very happy, and so we're almost celebrating nine years.
- 7:02I love to hear how people get to Bartlesville. Yeah, there's always
- 7:05a story there and it's uh, you know, it is a great community
- 7:09and it's a great place to raise your kids. Oh yes, oh yes,
- 7:12they've they've enjoyed it. We've enjoyed the school system and the sports and
- 7:15all the things they've they've really dipped their toes into everything. I feel like,
- 7:18yeah, no, that's that's that's when. One thing you can do
- 7:21in Bartlesville is there's plenty. There's access to everything, and it's a place
- 7:27for everyone to get engaged and really find their their passions and what they like
- 7:30to do and why do you do at our best? So I am a
- 7:35business development representative there and so my role is to be out in the community,
- 7:41which is nice because that definitely helps with Young professionals. But my role
- 7:45is to help our business customers that we have currently and just just so they
- 7:49can have one person to go to. So really the idea is that I'm
- 7:54quarterbacking that relationship. So whether you're a business customer and you need to get
- 7:58a loan, or you need some treasury management or whatever the case is,
- 8:01you can come to me directly and I can help navigate those conversations. Yes,
- 8:07yes, and so you don't have several different contacts that you're going after.
- 8:11But also my role is to bring in new businesses as well and to
- 8:15foster those as well. So great, well, we're glad to have you
- 8:18here in Bartlesville and so glad to have our Vest and all that the want
- 8:24yp and what you guys are doing. Yes, I will say another plug
- 8:28for young Professionals is I did not work for our Vest when I started with
- 8:31Young Professionals. I worked for a different company and I was recruited to our
- 8:35Vest. And so Young Professionals not only helps people with their current roles and
- 8:39things, but I do feel like it gives you exposure to other opportunities for
- 8:43different places, and so I've been. It was definitely the best crew move
- 8:46I've want. Is a great networking opportunity to meet people. And because it's
- 8:52a lot of there's social activities and things, so people are having fun and
- 8:56it's part of the chamber too, you can and and there's so many great
- 9:03networking opportunities there too, So that's a great service they provide our community,
- 9:09you know. And we're heading into July fourth here around the corner too,
- 9:13and big celebrations coming up. I know. I read about a cool one
- 9:20and Dewey at the Dewey Hotel. We're going to have the gunfighters come out
- 9:24and then have stories about the old rodeo days. And I would have I
- 9:28would have loved that when I was a kid, and the Tom Mixed Museum
- 9:31was one of my favorite places. So that sounds like fun. And then
- 9:35Freedom Fast out at Sooner Park Baseball winge It winge It and the teams in
- 9:43town tonight for a doubleheader, and I saw Evan that incredible accomplishment. Evan
- 9:48far About, the sports director here at the station, has broadcast a thousand
- 9:54games of baseball or something sport, different sports, and that is an amazing
- 10:00problem a very young man too, so you get it at the age that
- 10:03he did is really I don't think anybody's gonna touch it. Is it a
- 10:07record? I think it maybe, But I'm pretty good. I've done this
- 10:11for fifty years. It's first time I've seen anybody his age hit that March
- 10:16process. So that's great. Congratulations Evan, and thank you for all your
- 10:20support for the Indians. I know he's done a lot of Indians games and
- 10:24that's that's really great. Teams had a little rough spot stretch here lately where
- 10:30we lost a couple of games, but they're out there tonight. I know
- 10:31it'll be another tough one and but you know, the intercollegiate teams are pretty
- 10:37pretty salty, but intense, very intense games. Yeah, we play pretty
- 10:43serious baseball. Yeah, with you very high level, very high level.
- 10:46That should be a lot of fun. And then wins it tournament, like
- 10:50I said, coming up on July fourth, and we've got land cruisers.
- 10:56So you did get our first land Cruiser in our land Cruiser, the brand
- 11:00new return of the land Cruiser. Really we've been excited about it at the
- 11:05dealership and we've got our first one in and delivered it. This week and
- 11:09that was really got a winner, got a winner, and now we're off
- 11:13and running. We got our second one in just last night, another nineteen
- 11:18fifty eight model is what they call it. This is a it's a great,
- 11:22great vehicle, black on black, blacked out, really cool. They've
- 11:26got two more in allocation that'll be here soon, so and all those are
- 11:30available. We've dispensed with the application process, which was confusing to some people,
- 11:35but it was great because that way we were able to get you our
- 11:39first buyer on that highly priced first one to be you know, it was
- 11:41it was we were sure to have a local buyer that way in good deal,
- 11:46great living this week right here in town. So you'll see it running
- 11:50around and that's that's exciting. We're really proud of that new vehicle. It's
- 11:56it's it was so neat to have it on the showroom and people exploring it.
- 12:00It's got a very excellent design. It's got really comfortable you know,
- 12:05just sit in and I was surprised by the size of the back seat and
- 12:09for a vehicle like that, it's a it's really tough. As you can
- 12:13tell, it's got all the off road chops you'd ever want, But there
- 12:18was kind of a debate on the with the people whether some people thought you
- 12:22shouldn't use it and others thought that would be a waste of it not to
- 12:26use it. They're like, you know out there in the dirt. No,
- 12:30it's a two row suv, so yeah, you'd be suitable for five
- 12:35seats. The back seat isn't huge, you know, so like Sequalia would
- 12:39be bigger if you if you want a little more room, but it's similar
- 12:43in size, so like a fore Runner, I'm a little bit smaller than
- 12:46the last rand Cruiser, not as expensive. More of a harkening back to
- 12:50the original land Cruisers of the fifties, sixties and seventies, which were really
- 12:56tough jeeps like vehicles, very known. They're still around the world that way
- 13:01of thoughts of them in very remote places that where people rely on their vehicles
- 13:07to because of their quality and reliability. Obviously to the others are well known
- 13:11for that and to quote some of the people who saw it, Yeah,
- 13:20we've got on the Ford side, we have a Bronco Raptor and stock that's
- 13:24an incredible beast of a vehicle. So you can check that out against the
- 13:28land cruiser. Those two are pretty comfortable kinds of vehicles. Great looking vehicle
- 13:35with the painted fenders really looks tough, and it's big and lifted and a
- 13:41factory set up for just about anything for the good stuff. Yeah, and
- 13:48this time of year, I know people are thinking about that as they head
- 13:50off to Colorado or wherever you're going for a vacation. And so we've got
- 13:56a lot of stuff coming up over the next few weeks town and at the
- 14:01dealership. So I noticed this week was our tenth anniversary of the ribbon cutting
- 14:07of the Toyota dealership when we go. Yeah, so that's pretty exciting and
- 14:13we're celebrating that out of the dealership. So bring Corey back in a little
- 14:18bit here to talk about if people want to get involved with young professionals of
- 14:22Bartlesville, what's the easiest way to do that and how do they find out
- 14:26more come to a social event, what's the best way to start. Yeah,
- 14:31So, like you mentioned, we are a part of the Chamber,
- 14:35and so if you go to the Chambers website, there's a little guy on
- 14:39there and it says young Professionals. You just click that little guy and there's
- 14:41a sheet that you fill out, so really easy. First name, lasting
- 14:45email, phone number, something like that, and then you get our newsletter,
- 14:48which we send out every single month. You're going to get information about
- 14:52our events and different things or maybe even things that we did in the past
- 14:54that we're celebrating. And then our Facebook page has all of events on there.
- 15:00We really try to keep that up to date. So if you have
- 15:03Facebook, please follow us. That's definitely the easiest way. But we also
- 15:07share a lot of nonprofit events that are happening in Bartles, but we're just
- 15:11events that are happening in general, like the Freedom Fest that you had mentioned.
- 15:16We're actually collecting volunteers for them for Kuwanas and so if you're interested,
- 15:20I'll put a little plug in there. If you're interested in volunteering, please
- 15:24sign up for that. That's on our Facebook page. I think we're going
- 15:26to be judging the costume contest you're really excited about, yes, and even
- 15:31maybe helping with some of the Jupiter jumps. But that's the way to sign
- 15:35up, and coming to a social is always the best way. Reaching out
- 15:39directly to me happy to have a conversation, but any or any even sending
- 15:45a message on Facebook. We're happy to have a conversation with you, but
- 15:48if you want to dip your toes a little bit deeper. We actually have
- 15:52a few committees that we do each year. So at the beginning of the
- 15:56year, we do our Emerging Stars. I'm not sure if you've heard of
- 15:58that this year, but we did an event. This year was the very
- 16:02first one and it was a gala. And the idea behind this event was
- 16:07we were able to nominate over one hundred different nominations came through and these were
- 16:14people that were under forty and that are doing good in our community. And
- 16:18so there were eleven winners and we had a committee that did our a selection
- 16:25committee that went through the process and so eleven people got to win. It
- 16:29was a really great event that we did. A great event, yes,
- 16:32and we gave back eleven hundred dollars to our local nonprofits because each winner got
- 16:37to pick one hundred dollars or got to pick a nonprofit to give one hundred
- 16:40dollars too, and so it was really exciting. So with that being said,
- 16:44we do committees each year, So we'll do one for that, we'll
- 16:47do one for the Hot Street Party, and we'll do a committee for the
- 16:49Christmas Crawl that will be here before we know it. Most likely, even
- 16:53though it's in December, it'll be here before we know it. And so
- 16:56if you're interested in just diving a little bit deeper into younger essionals, happy
- 17:00to share those those good ways to be involved, and there's all kinds of
- 17:06volunteer opportunities and stuff you can do, and just right around the corner for
- 17:11July fourth if you're interested in that. And the Facebook page, it was
- 17:15easy. I found it this morning. We're getting ready, so it's just
- 17:18look up Young Professionals of Bartlesville and that's all there. And so what else.
- 17:26We've got a lot of interesting stuff going on in dealership. I mentioned
- 17:30the land Cruisers and the Broncos, but there's also some great incentives right now.
- 17:34There's interest rate deals, you know, like in our vest. We
- 17:37do a lot of business with our vest too, but Toyota and Ford are
- 17:41offering some rates that are hard to compete with where you know, they do
- 17:45incentivize some of them, and as low as zero percent right now on tundras,
- 17:49and a whole bunch of great rates on forwards that are almost too complex
- 17:55to get into, but zero for sixty on Escape plus one thousand dollars in
- 18:02rebate. On Bronco Sport, we've got zero for sixty plus one thousand,
- 18:06and in some cases you can get one thousand dollars conquest cash if you own
- 18:11a Jeep. That's all that's on both Bronco and Bronco Sport. We offer
- 18:15to explore as zero for sixty plus seven hundred and fifty dollars, and those
- 18:21are on the twenty three models. The twenty fours also have great incentives zero
- 18:26percent for sixty plus fifteen hundred on the Ford Edge, and there are just
- 18:30a few edges left. There's the edges being dropped for a little while in
- 18:33production, it won't be any more edges. So these are the last ones
- 18:37that have been a great vehicle for us, a great mid size suv,
- 18:41really stylish and comfortable. But these are the last ones, and so they're
- 18:47going to have great interest rates on them and incentives on those, I think
- 18:49for the until we sell the last ones. Expedition also has a special two
- 18:56point nine for seventy two or three thousand dollars cash bash cash back excuse me,
- 19:03and one point nine percent for sixty or two nine for seventy two on
- 19:07the Escape. On the Explore it's three point nine for sixty. So great
- 19:11incentives there on a number of different forward vehicles, and you can check all
- 19:17that out on our website at doneuschoice dot com. You get to either dealership's
- 19:22landing page, search all our inventory. Lots of great tools on there to
- 19:26help you answer those questions like when your home buying program you're going to have
- 19:33later this month, you could feel like you could almost do one of those.
- 19:34On car buying, really, we're always taking suggessions. That's a good
- 19:40idea, you know. We make that easy with technology on our website that
- 19:44we also use in the store, which is what you know, where you
- 19:48can actually structure your own deal. You go in. We do our market
- 19:51based pricing, but all the incentives are there. You can do what they
- 19:55call a soft pool on your credit so it doesn't actually hit your credit,
- 19:59but you're using your actual information in partnership with the credit bureau that we all
- 20:03use to approve loans, and that it goes in and it can you can
- 20:08calculate your own payment. You can apply the rebate I mentioned. Some of
- 20:14those are a choice between a rebate and an interest rate incentive, so you
- 20:18can you can sit there and make that choice and say, well, what
- 20:21if I want to use our best loan and get the rebate, what's my
- 20:25payment then, or if I just use the interest rate and you see if
- 20:29it makes a difference in your payment. You can also check out leases one
- 20:33pay leases, cash deals, look at things like warranties and other products that
- 20:41we sell with the vehicles. So it just keeps it puts it all right
- 20:45out there up front. We've we've had it on the websites now for several
- 20:49years and really in the last few months have started using it more and more
- 20:55in the showroom. So when you come in, we sit down, we
- 20:59present the numbers, we work through it, and so if you've started all
- 21:03that at home, we can take the startup right where you left off and
- 21:07we don't have to ask all those questions again. You know what, you
- 21:10know, because a lot of times people spend hours months doing research before they
- 21:17make a decision like that, whether it's buying a home or buying a vehicle,
- 21:22and it you know, so it's great to have a tool like that
- 21:26where we can not only save you a lot of time and money, but
- 21:29it gives you transparency and easy answers to your questions. Yeah, Soot,
- 21:33you mentioned leasing, I feel like that is becoming more popular. Is that
- 21:37true. Well, what you've got going on, of course, is interest
- 21:41rates are relatively high compared to what we've been used to in the last couple
- 21:45of decades, and so payments are people's primary concern. You know that you're
- 21:52seeing we're seeing a lot of people that are getting trying to having to do
- 21:56more with less, and you know, so and that come into their vehicle,
- 22:00you know, and and so leasing gives you an opportunity to have a
- 22:04lower payment. Often it does take particularly with the toyotas that have such high
- 22:10resale values, you're really just buying that that part of the vehicle depreciation,
- 22:15right, They're going to estimate how much the vehicle's worth at the end of
- 22:19the lease, so in a sense you're buying half the car or whatever.
- 22:23So and then it a lot of times the lease payments are comparatively lower,
- 22:32two hundred dollars less. Sometimes now there's limits on how many the miles you
- 22:37put on the vehicles and a time frame, but you also have a choice
- 22:41at the end of the of the lease where whether you want to, you
- 22:45can purchase the rest of the vehicle, you can let it go back to
- 22:48the manufacturer. If a lot of times in the last couple of years we've
- 22:52seen where it was worth more than what they estimated it would be worth,
- 22:57so you could actually buy it and then resell it or trade it in and
- 23:02actually make money that way. And so you know, at leasting just gives
- 23:07you choices and that and that's like and it is not that common in our
- 23:11area. Some markets of the country lease, you know, eighty ninety percent
- 23:17of their vehicles, and particularly in major metro areas, very highly populated centers,
- 23:25places like Detroit where a lot of people work for their car companies,
- 23:30they lease a lot. And I know Buffalo, New York, I know
- 23:36a dealer up there and they lease well over three quarters of their vehicles.
- 23:41And you know, it's just a different different environment around here. People are
- 23:45pretty much want to own their vehicle owner and a lot of times they're going
- 23:48to keep it longer. We see a lot of people keeping their cars,
- 23:52you know, for a long time. And of course a lot of people
- 23:55are interested in use vehicles, and we've got a great use vehicle selection and
- 24:00the use vehicles can also you can go in there on those and do the
- 24:03same thing with the payments and that you're interest rate and that's you can calculate
- 24:10know what your payment is. And I know that's what a lot of people
- 24:14are thinking when they're well, what is it going to cost now? And
- 24:18with the interest rates being up a little bit, so it's easy to answer
- 24:22those questions at Dungeons. And with our simple price, market based pricing and
- 24:27our salaried sales professionals, you know, it's a non commissioned environment. We
- 24:33try to keep everything extremelined and transparent and really focus on your satisfaction and take
- 24:40care of the you know, make the hard stuff easy for you. So
- 24:47anyway, that's great. And also with every new vehicle you purchase a Dungeons
- 24:51you get complimentary Zurich Shield Elite Plus, which is of advanced ceramic technology we
- 24:56put on the paint of your vehicle and also on the interior of your vehicle.
- 25:02It prevents staining and on the paint. It's really cool, you know,
- 25:06paint. Automotive paint has these microscopic little dimples in it and dirt,
- 25:11dust and dirt collect in it when you when you're it's hard to clean your
- 25:15car when you're it's like, why is that dirt sticking to the car when
- 25:19you're washing it with a power wand or something, and it's it's because it's
- 25:23in those ripples, in those little microscopic things, and this smooths all that
- 25:30out, so it cleans off much easier and helps protect the paint from things
- 25:33like acid, rain and stuff like that that might might potentially cause damage to
- 25:37the vehicle. And then so we apply that to all the vehicles when they
- 25:41arrive and we give that away when you purchase your new vehicle at DUNGEUS,
- 25:48you can't purchase some additional insurance around it for for years. And if that's
- 25:52the point, if you're interested in that, So one more time, we
- 25:57ought to go back and talk about Young Professionals and what you guys have coming
- 26:02up over the next month or so. Yes, so we have our July
- 26:06ninth, we have our Sooner Junior event. It's going to be our social

- 26:18twenty fourth. That'll be a lunch and learn from eleven thirty to one both
- 26:22days, and so you can come one day or you can come both.

- 27:11I guarantee you will come on down and enjoy that. We're pushing for
- 27:17a really strong finish at the dealership for the month of June, and so
- 27:21if you're looking to put a deal together, we're really close to our objective
- 27:25and need to put a few more deals together, So come on out everybody's
- 27:30kind of I think there's this thing in the car business. People know that
- 27:33when the end of the month is some people swoop in and try to get
- 27:37a great deal. But we're nearing that, and the manufacturers get all antsy
- 27:41too. They're like, it's the end of the month. Do you know?
- 27:45Did you know? It's like, yes, I know, we're aware.
