- 0:00Speaker 1: I know we just talked a minute ago, but the
- 0:01Speaker 1: bounce back effort, this team knows how to bounce back.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Can you tell me a little bit about the details
- 0:05Speaker 2: of this game that allowed that to be possible? I
- 0:09Speaker 2: just liked our directness, especially early in the game.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Especially after the goals, we talked a little bit about
- 0:14Speaker 1: it in between periods, especially after they scored their two
- 0:16Speaker 1: power play goals. I loved how we were able to
- 0:18Speaker 1: be direct for the next couple shifts. I love the
- 0:22Speaker 1: way that we can gain that momentum back because that
- 0:24Speaker 1: really does change the hockey game and change the way
- 0:26Speaker 1: that your team feels when you're in a situation where
- 0:29Speaker 1: you give up a goal. You guys were really pressuring
- 0:32Speaker 1: them and you were taking away all time and space.
- 0:34Speaker 2: What did you see out of your team really responding
- 0:36Speaker 2: and bringing that energy?
- 0:37Speaker 1: One of the things we talked about yesterday, especially at
- 0:39Speaker 1: the D-Corps, was just, listen, we've got a ton of
- 0:42Speaker 1: skill forwards.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Let's get them to puck early, especially in the neutral zone.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Let's try and half-ice game as much as we can.
- 0:46Speaker 1: When we drag it back is when we get in
- 0:48Speaker 1: a little bit more trouble and it allows them to
- 0:49Speaker 1: set their defense up, especially their neutral zone forecheck.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I thought, especially in the first and second, we.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Did a really good job with that and as the
- 0:56Speaker 1: game went on after we got, we got a little bit.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Away from it, but I just, you know, even when
- 1:00Speaker 2: they scored, there was no panic on the bench. What
- 1:02Speaker 2: are you guys seeing on the PK right now? You've
- 1:04Speaker 2: given up 10 goals on 32 opportunities. Just curious, you know,
- 1:07Speaker 2: what's going to be leading to those? You know, um,
- 1:11Speaker 2: could be a combination of things, but I think right now.
- 1:15Speaker 1: We're going to have to take, we're going to, we're
- 1:16Speaker 1: going to look at it because, you know, that's obviously
- 1:18Speaker 1: something that we really pride ourselves in, you know, like
- 1:21Speaker 1: guys that take a lot of pride in how we,
- 1:23Speaker 1: how we play on the PK. Um, you know, um,
- 1:26Speaker 1: Our game plan each night is to have good pressure
- 1:28Speaker 1: and good pace. We'll look at the stuff that we
- 1:31Speaker 1: can and we'll take a peek at it and see
- 1:32Speaker 1: what changes we can make. When you go to a
- 1:34Speaker 1: young goalie in a net like that, do you do
- 1:36Speaker 1: anything differently to make sure that you're supporting him as
- 1:38Speaker 1: much as he needs?
- 1:39Speaker 2: I hope he hears me out there. I try and
- 1:41Speaker 2: talk to him as much as I can because that does.
- 1:43Speaker 2: It gets him into the game, especially when he comes
- 1:45Speaker 2: over the bench. I try and chat him up a
- 1:47Speaker 2: little bit. Goalies are a lot like pitchers. You let
- 1:50Speaker 2: them roll. You come over.
- 1:52Speaker 1: It's kind of a a feeling out process, but, you know, Kostas,
- 1:55Speaker 1: you know, a guy that's pretty locked in when he's
- 1:57Speaker 1: in the game, and when he's not, he can tell it,
- 1:59Speaker 1: he kind of, you know, he kind of redials himself in, so,
- 2:03Speaker 1: you know, like I said, I sat on the bench
- 2:04Speaker 1: for that state at the end.
- 2:05Speaker 2: I know it's been a while since you played with
- 2:08Speaker 2: someone other than named John Marino.
- 2:10Speaker 1: How was it playing with your new defense partner? You know,
- 2:13Speaker 1: we were a little bit of, we were playing with
- 2:15Speaker 1: a little bit of everybody tonight, and that's just, And,
- 2:18Speaker 1: you know, Flutter having a lot of trust in all
- 2:19Speaker 1: of our guys. And I think that's an amazing attribute
- 2:22Speaker 1: for our defense core to be able to have that.
- 2:25Speaker 1: If you feel like you have to be married to
- 2:26Speaker 1: a certain pair or two, it kind of locks up
- 2:28Speaker 1: your matchups a little bit. And I think if you
- 2:30Speaker 1: have the ability to move guys around and they feel
- 2:32Speaker 1: comfortable with each other, like a lot of us have
- 2:34Speaker 1: played together before. Even when you had Deacon Ray, I've
- 2:37Speaker 1: played with him before as well. it makes it, it
- 2:39Speaker 1: makes it pretty easy when you have that familiarity with
- 2:41Speaker 1: each other.
- 2:41Speaker 2: And can you just speak to DeSimone being able to
- 2:43Speaker 2: step in the way he does and not miss a beat?
- 2:45Speaker 2: Just cool. Josh Allen, DeSimone. Yeah. He played with 10
- 2:49Speaker 2: and two all night. It was great. I mean, the
- 2:51Speaker 2: guy goes in the first period. It looks like, you know,
- 2:53Speaker 2: he's been in every game this year.
- 2:54Speaker 1: It's, it's awesome to see how confident he is in the,
- 2:57Speaker 1: with the puck and, and also with footer too, right? Like,
- 2:59Speaker 1: you know, you're a guy that just coming in after
- 3:01Speaker 1: 10 games to have the confidence in him to go and.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Put them out there and, And, man, I thought he
- 3:06Speaker 2: rewarded our team with a great effort.
- 3:07Speaker 1: And, you know, he's just a consummate pro, right? The
- 3:09Speaker 1: guy is just always ready. He's been, you know, an
- 3:12Speaker 1: awesome guy in the room. It's a big pump for him.
- 3:14Speaker 1: He had a great night tonight. First home win for
- 3:17Speaker 1: Sebastian Kosar. Those goalie hugs are a little bit more special.
- 3:19Speaker 2: You know what?
- 3:19Speaker 1: I bet he squeezed me pretty hard.
- 3:22Speaker 2: But he deserves it. I might have to get an
- 3:25Speaker 2: oxygen tank. But he was, like I said, when we
- 3:28Speaker 2: needed him, he was great tonight. And that's the most
- 3:30Speaker 2: important part for a young goalie.
