- 3:19Speaker 1: to our case today. So today we have a very
- 3:23Speaker 1: special episode as we continue our mission to bring attention
- 3:28Speaker 1: to current missing person cases. And I am honored to
- 3:32Speaker 1: be joined by two incredible guests who are here to
- 3:36Speaker 1: help us shed light on the disappearance of Brian Vladik Hassel,
- 3:41Speaker 1: who went missing in November of twenty twenty one. And
- 3:45Speaker 1: we will refer to Brian as Flatic because that is
- 3:48Speaker 1: the name he chose to go by. So first, welcome, ladies,
- 3:53Speaker 1: we have Bethany Vlatik's sister, who I have to say,
- 3:57Speaker 1: you have been tireless in advocating for your brother in
- 4:00Speaker 1: searching for answers and I love that. And we are
- 4:05Speaker 1: also joined by Hailey Gray, who has dedicated missing person
- 4:10Speaker 1: advocate who has been working closely with families like Bethany's.
- 4:15Speaker 1: So welcome, ladies.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Thank you so much for having us. We really appreciate it.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Yes, thank you so much.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I, like I said, I appreciate it. But
- 4:28Speaker 1: before we get into vlatox story, I want to know
- 4:32Speaker 1: how the two of you met and joined forces.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Yeah. So I met Haley through Moms and Mysteries, who's
- 4:41Speaker 2: a podcast that I met at Crime Con Orlando, and
- 4:46Speaker 2: they actually live locally to me, so they were able
- 4:49Speaker 2: to partner up with vladex case and they have been
- 4:52Speaker 2: a tremendous help. They introduce us to Haley. Haley helps
- 4:55Speaker 2: their podcast with researching and so many other things with
- 5:00Speaker 2: advocacy that I can't even go into all the details,
- 5:03Speaker 2: but she is phenomenal and she has been such good
- 5:07Speaker 2: friends and really close to my family ever since we
- 5:11Speaker 2: love her dearly.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Well that's great, because Haley, I mean, it's sad to
- 5:18Speaker 1: say this, but we need more people like you because
- 5:21Speaker 1: these families go through so much.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Yeah, they really do.
- 5:26Speaker 3: I'm always surprised that, like when I offer to help
- 5:31Speaker 3: people that I was like, oh my gosh, no one's
- 5:33Speaker 3: ever offered that before, And I'm like, why not.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I know, I hear the same thing, you know with
- 5:39Speaker 1: some of the families we have come on and I'm like,
- 5:40Speaker 1: you mean, nobody has offered that. And I mean I'm
- 5:45Speaker 1: always shocked as well. And there are times, and I've
- 5:49Speaker 1: said on here, I wish that I did this full
- 5:52Speaker 1: time so that we could help even more families like
- 5:55Speaker 1: we do with Chase Lackey's family, and that's why we
- 5:58Speaker 1: started Midday. We can't help as much as we'd like,
- 6:01Speaker 1: but we can try to spotlight and get it out there,
- 6:04Speaker 1: because the other thing is if basis do not get
- 6:08Speaker 1: the attention they deserve.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to thank you both so much for
- 6:16Speaker 1: being here. And Bethany, I know this has you know,
- 6:21Speaker 1: not easy for you, but I am grateful you know
- 6:26Speaker 1: that you're here and that you're willing to talk to
- 6:28Speaker 1: us and help us understore understand more about Vladock's case
- 6:32Speaker 1: and what happened. So I first want to learn a
- 6:35Speaker 1: little bit more about Vladex. So can you tell us
- 6:38Speaker 1: about him?
- 6:40Speaker 2: Yeah, So, Vladik and Arena we adopted them from Russia
- 6:45Speaker 2: in two thousand and four. Vladik was five at the time,
- 6:49Speaker 2: and he has always been the active kid, always outside,
- 6:58Speaker 2: having new adventures, climbing trees, that type of personality, always
- 7:04Speaker 2: big in sports growing up. Basketball has been one of
- 7:07Speaker 2: his favorite sports that he still enjoys into adulthood. And yeah,
- 7:17Speaker 2: just one that never really sat. Still always wanted to
- 7:20Speaker 2: be on the go, and that's kind of like his
- 7:23Speaker 2: personality into adulthood as well. So just a big hut.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Are some of your fondest memories, because I'm sure there
- 7:32Speaker 1: are many, But what are some of your favorites?
- 7:36Speaker 2: There are several. At one point in time, it was
- 7:42Speaker 2: just Vladik and I living at home. Everyone else had
- 7:46Speaker 2: moved out, so I really cherished that time together because
- 7:51Speaker 2: we got really close over those years. He would go
- 7:55Speaker 2: out with me to the barn and go horseback riding
- 7:58Speaker 2: with me, and I would teach him how to ride
- 8:00Speaker 2: and It's not something that my other siblings really had
- 8:05Speaker 2: an interest in, but Vladick would. I don't know if
- 8:09Speaker 2: he really had an interest in it or it was
- 8:10Speaker 2: more to kind of make me happy.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I sid say, maybe he just wanted to, you know,
- 8:15Speaker 1: his interest was in his sister and doing things that
- 8:18Speaker 1: she loved.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Yeah, but he's a trooper. Even the year before he
- 8:26Speaker 2: went missing, we went to North Carolina, some of my
- 8:29Speaker 2: family and I for my birthday. And those are other
- 8:34Speaker 2: memories that I really cherish because it was like my parents, Jodie,
- 8:39Speaker 2: Vladick and I and the rest of my family isn't
- 8:43Speaker 2: able to really get out there active due to health restraints,
- 8:47Speaker 2: but Vladick and I we were able to do hikes together.
- 8:51Speaker 2: So I really cherished those hikes that we did. And
- 8:55Speaker 2: we also went horseback riding, and he was a trooper.
- 9:00Speaker 2: It was an intense trick ride for a trail ride
- 9:03Speaker 2: like it had recently rained really hard. In the trail.
- 9:08Speaker 2: You have to ride through the river. Oh, the river
- 9:12Speaker 2: for quite a ways and the current was really strong
- 9:16Speaker 2: up to it reached like our ankles, if not mid
- 9:19Speaker 2: calf at some spots, and he he did it.
- 9:25Speaker 1: I've like I like to ride horses. But I'm sitting
- 9:27Speaker 1: here thinking, I don't know if I would have done that. Yeah,
- 9:30Speaker 1: so he definitely sounds like he was a trooper.
- 9:33Speaker 2: He is. He is. So I love those together.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Well, I mean, and I try to tell people the
- 9:42Speaker 1: memories never fade. You know, people think they would, but
- 9:45Speaker 1: it's like, you know, that's get out there and make
- 9:48Speaker 1: those memories. Now. Can you walk us through the days
- 9:52Speaker 1: leading up to his disappearance in twenty twenty one?
- 9:57Speaker 2: Yeah, to talk about the day's leading up, have to
- 10:05Speaker 2: backtrack a little bit.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Sure.
- 10:09Speaker 2: So, he throughout his entire childhood into adulthood, he's always
- 10:14Speaker 2: had a deep desire to join the Marines. It's always
- 10:18Speaker 2: been his life.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Goal, and.
- 10:21Speaker 2: He joined. He worked really hard to be able to join,
- 10:24Speaker 2: lost a lot of weight, exercise quite often to be
- 10:28Speaker 2: able to enlist, and went to the San Diego boot camp. Graduated,
- 10:40Speaker 2: and after he graduated, he was given a desk job,
- 10:44Speaker 2: which isn't what he had anticipated. He's like, like I've mentioned,
- 10:50Speaker 2: he's a very active person, So being put behind a desk, yeah,
- 10:56Speaker 2: not what he was expecting at all. He even received
- 11:00Speaker 2: like a marksmanship award and all that, so he had
- 11:03Speaker 2: anticipated being more of that role. So while there he
- 11:09Speaker 2: was able to speak with people over him and find
- 11:14Speaker 2: a way to get a discharge. He said was bringing
- 11:17Speaker 2: up negative memories from his childhood in Russia, so they
- 11:23Speaker 2: were they issued the discharge on the paperwork, they put
- 11:28Speaker 2: under honorable conditions for failure to adapt. He came back
- 11:34Speaker 2: to live with my dad and really kind of struggled
- 11:39Speaker 2: for what was next because there wasn't a plan B
- 11:41Speaker 2: that was his life goal. And then like six months
- 11:47Speaker 2: later he went to go live with Carrie. COVID happened
- 11:54Speaker 2: a couple months later after that, and at the time
- 11:57Speaker 2: he was he got a job. He was working at
- 12:00Speaker 2: a hospital cleaning hospital rooms, and a lot of the
- 12:06Speaker 2: nurses have said how much of a help he was
- 12:09Speaker 2: through that time because there'd be COVID positive patients that
- 12:14Speaker 2: the rooms need to be cleaned, and he would be
- 12:15Speaker 2: the one to volunteer to go and help him. Carrie,
- 12:21Speaker 2: the single mother at the time, she had to take
- 12:24Speaker 2: a leave from her job since the daycares were closed, right,
- 12:28Speaker 2: so I was really able to step up and help
- 12:31Speaker 2: provide income to cover the bills for them. During that time,
- 12:37Speaker 2: he moved back to my dad's in the September of
- 12:42Speaker 2: twenty twenty, and my dad was remarried and his wife
- 12:52Speaker 2: at the time was putting a lot of pressure on
- 12:54Speaker 2: like to Volotic, you know, you need to get a job,
- 12:56Speaker 2: you need to get a job, and Dad didn't want
- 12:59Speaker 2: to put too much pressure on him because he felt
- 13:02Speaker 2: like Gladick was, you know, struggling with what's next. You know.
- 13:07Speaker 2: They ended up moving out and there was other stuff
- 13:12Speaker 2: going on the relationship, but Dad ended up getting a
- 13:14Speaker 2: divorce and Vladik and Dad eventually landed at the place
- 13:20Speaker 2: at Alifeya apartment complex in November of twenty twenty, and
- 13:26Speaker 2: they were there when Vladick went missing. At the beginning
- 13:31Speaker 2: of twenty twenty one, Vladik seemed to find more of
- 13:35Speaker 2: a purpose. He started helping the homeless population. He started
- 13:40Speaker 2: giving tips to waiters and waitresses after having conversations with
- 13:44Speaker 2: them if they if they mentioned that they were going
- 13:47Speaker 2: through a rough time, he would leave a very large
- 13:51Speaker 2: tip one hundred and three hundred dollars tip.
- 13:54Speaker 1: So he found his purpose helping people, He.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Really did, and my dad was supporting him financially the
- 14:01Speaker 2: whole time, and he was fine with However, Vladik chose
- 14:05Speaker 2: to use those fine the money because it really felt
- 14:10Speaker 2: like he was finding a purpose. He was happy. And
- 14:14Speaker 2: then also at the beginning of that year, he kind
- 14:17Speaker 2: of changed in his perspective on materialistic things, like he
- 14:21Speaker 2: had always wanted name brand shoes, name brand clothes, the
- 14:25Speaker 2: Michael Jordan's what what have you the newest iPhone, But
- 14:29Speaker 2: at that beginning of that year he would say things like,
- 14:34Speaker 2: you know, things of this world are a distraction. I
- 14:37Speaker 2: don't need it. Why are we here when we can
- 14:39Speaker 2: just be in heaven like a like we we grew
- 14:43Speaker 2: up Christian, but this was a whole other level that
- 14:47Speaker 2: he was. So he would make offhand comments like that.
- 14:55Speaker 2: And he had also made comments about, you know, wanting
- 15:00Speaker 2: to hike the applationan trail and live off the grid
- 15:04Speaker 2: and live that minimalistic lifestyle. But he had told Dad
- 15:09Speaker 2: that he would never make those changes or do that
- 15:14Speaker 2: kind of thing until Dad had no longer here to
- 15:19Speaker 2: take care of had passed away kind of thing, because
- 15:22Speaker 2: he made how much of a help Flatik was to him.
- 15:31Speaker 2: So like the comments that he made about like the
- 15:33Speaker 2: applation trail never really seemed but he would say things
- 15:39Speaker 2: to like get reactions of people too right, more like
- 15:44Speaker 2: a what's the word I'm looking for? A big idea,
- 15:50Speaker 2: but not something that he had plans to actually follow
- 15:53Speaker 2: through with. And when we started making plans for my
- 16:00Speaker 2: birthday in November, I we just I decided to go
- 16:05Speaker 2: to Tennessee and it was gonna be my parents again
- 16:11Speaker 2: and a couple of friends, and Vladik was gonna go too,
- 16:15Speaker 2: And a couple of days before we left, Ladick decided
- 16:18Speaker 2: to stay home, which wasn't completely out of character for him,
- 16:22Speaker 2: because sometimes Laddick would just opt to have his own time,
- 16:26Speaker 2: do his own thing. And yeah, a couple of days
- 16:34Speaker 2: before my dad left, Flatick had purchased a pocket knife
- 16:43Speaker 2: and said, you know that he bought it for protection.
- 16:47Speaker 2: And the car that he shared with Dad had broke
- 16:51Speaker 2: down that night and it ended up being towed to
- 16:58Speaker 2: the shop and remained at the shop till Dad got back.
- 17:04Speaker 2: And there I lost my thought.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Say sorry, did he say why he thought he needed
- 17:14Speaker 1: protection or just in general he thought the pocket knife
- 17:19Speaker 1: would be good for protection.
- 17:21Speaker 2: He didn't say why, and like Dad didn't press him.
- 17:26Speaker 2: But Flattock is always you know, when he when he
- 17:32Speaker 2: thinks of getting a pocket knife, it's just something to
- 17:35Speaker 2: have on hand for protection, like so it kind of
- 17:38Speaker 2: seemed like that was the response, like it's just a
- 17:41Speaker 2: just in case thing, you know, like for kind of thing,
- 17:43Speaker 2: Like he didn't really make a big deal of it
- 17:46Speaker 2: being for protection. Offhanded comment.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, now, and tell us about the day he
- 17:58Speaker 1: went missing or when you you know, when I know
- 18:02Speaker 1: you said he didn't decide not to go on your
- 18:04Speaker 1: birthday trip. What led to you knowing that he was missing?
- 18:09Speaker 2: Yeah, So while we were gone, my dad tried reaching
- 18:14Speaker 2: out to him via text and calls, but he never
- 18:20Speaker 2: responded back. We were in the mountains and didn't have
- 18:25Speaker 2: much signal, so we weren't really sure like what was
- 18:28Speaker 2: going through or not. And when my dad got back
- 18:31Speaker 2: on November fifteenth, he picked up the car that they
- 18:35Speaker 2: shared on the way back and got to the apartment,
- 18:39Speaker 2: and the package that he had told Vladick that he
- 18:43Speaker 2: was expecting to come, that Vladik had told him that
- 18:45Speaker 2: he would bring inside was still outside the apartment door.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Dad went inside. Everything seemed like it was when Dad left,
- 18:57Speaker 2: still about the same amount of food, no new dishes.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Everything kind of seemed like it the day of Dad left,
- 19:05Speaker 2: and we didn't worry too much because Vladik we Dad
- 19:12Speaker 2: had told Ladick he was getting home the next day,
- 19:16Speaker 2: so for him not to be there, then maybe Dad
- 19:19Speaker 2: was thinking he may have stayed at a friend's house. Right,
- 19:24Speaker 2: So when the next night came around and Vladix still
- 19:28Speaker 2: hadn't responded, and Dad also found Vladock's phone in his bedroom,
- 19:36Speaker 2: it was sitting next to the charger, but it wasn't
- 19:38Speaker 2: plugged in, it wasn't charged, it was dead. So when
- 19:43Speaker 2: the next night came and there was still no Vladik,
- 19:47Speaker 2: you know, Vladix a night owl. Maybe he's up late,
- 19:52Speaker 2: you know, driving or around and we'll come back one
- 19:56Speaker 2: am or something. Still no Vladik. So Wednesday morning I
- 20:01Speaker 2: called the Orange County Sheriff's office to start the missing
- 20:06Speaker 2: person's report, and they went ahead and came out and
- 20:12Speaker 2: started that process.
- 20:15Speaker 1: What was their initial response, because sometimes you know, we
- 20:18Speaker 1: hear they say, oh, they're an adult, they have the
- 20:21Speaker 1: right to not be here, or maybe they ran away.
- 20:25Speaker 1: What kind of response did you get?
- 20:32Speaker 2: So they were more willing to listen to us since
- 20:36Speaker 2: we hadn't heard from him since November six, he had
- 20:43Speaker 2: called him an arena, had had a phone conversation with
- 20:47Speaker 2: early morning hours that day, so since it had been
- 20:52Speaker 2: over a week, they did come out and take the report.
- 20:57Speaker 2: The detective that initially came out was standing in Vladick's
- 21:06Speaker 2: room with my dad and he saw an article of
- 21:09Speaker 2: clothing that Vladick is known to wear, like these gold
- 21:12Speaker 2: legging pants, you can't miss them. And he's started to
- 21:18Speaker 2: describe Vladick to my dad before the detective even saw
- 21:21Speaker 2: a picture of him. And the detective was like, isn't
- 21:24Speaker 2: your son, you know, blonde hair, about five seven or so,
- 21:29Speaker 2: hefty guy usually wears a black hoodie and those pants.
- 21:33Speaker 2: And dad said, yeah, that describes him pretty well. And
- 21:38Speaker 2: the officer said, I know Vladik. He came up to
- 21:41Speaker 2: me and my partner just recently and thanked us for
- 21:44Speaker 2: our service and started to have a conversation with us.
- 21:48Speaker 2: And like that's just the kind of personality Vladik is,
- 21:51Speaker 2: Like he'll start up conversations with people to learn your story.
- 21:55Speaker 1: That's amazing.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Yeah, And that weekend, the Sheriff's office went door to
- 22:03Speaker 2: door and they had helicopter over air with thermal scanners
- 22:12Speaker 2: and they did other searches and the only thing that
- 22:16Speaker 2: they found at some point during those initial searches was
- 22:20Speaker 2: a red slide shoe and they showed a picture of
- 22:24Speaker 2: it to my dad and my dad said, well, Vladik
- 22:30Speaker 2: wear's slides, but I don't remember if he has a
- 22:34Speaker 2: red pair or not. And in February when they met
- 22:38Speaker 2: with us, they showed me the picture and I pretty
- 22:41Speaker 2: much said the same thing. I don't remember if he
- 22:44Speaker 2: has reread a red pair or not. It was during
- 22:49Speaker 2: that meeting in February that we learned that Vlatik had
- 22:52Speaker 2: received a trespass warning at fox Hill and Foxtail Coffee
- 23:00Speaker 2: House is a place that Flatick would frequent regularly. The
- 23:05Speaker 2: manager sat up to three times a week and he
- 23:07Speaker 2: would spend hours there. So when the detective mentioned because
- 23:17Speaker 2: the detective was talking about possible sightings and that kind
- 23:20Speaker 2: of thing, and there was a possible sighting at the
- 23:22Speaker 2: apartment complex on the fifteenth, and then I had asked
- 23:29Speaker 2: her if there was a way to confirm if it
- 23:31Speaker 2: was in fact the fifteenth, and she said, you know, no,
- 23:34Speaker 2: but I can tell you that our department interacted with
- 23:37Speaker 2: him on November sixth, twenty twenty one, during the trust
- 23:40Speaker 2: pass at Foxville, and that really caught me off guard
- 23:45Speaker 2: because Vlati's never been in trouble and I had asked him, like,
- 23:53Speaker 2: why how did he get a trustpassed? What was it for?
- 23:57Speaker 2: And she seemed to not really know the detail of it.
- 24:00Speaker 2: She just said, oh, you know your brother, he was
- 24:03Speaker 2: probably just talking too much.
- 24:06Speaker 1: I don't think they give you trespass for talking too much,
- 24:09Speaker 1: because if so, I would have a lot of trespass charges.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Yeah, so I found that really odd during that conversation,
- 24:19Speaker 2: before I knew about Fox till I had asked them,
- 24:21Speaker 2: you know like flat it frequents these fast food places
- 24:26Speaker 2: around their apartment complex, Like that's his hangout spots, you know, Foxtails, Zaxby's,
- 24:32Speaker 2: wah wah, all these places, Like were you able to
- 24:37Speaker 2: go to these places that he would go to there
- 24:39Speaker 2: was probably six or seven and ask them to review
- 24:43Speaker 2: their footage over the time we were gone, Were you
- 24:47Speaker 2: able to review street camera footage like that kind of thing?
- 24:51Speaker 2: And she said that the street camera footage was not usable,
- 24:58Speaker 2: that it was either not functioning or didn't record, and
- 25:03Speaker 2: to ask these businesses to review their footage or for
- 25:06Speaker 2: them to review it would be too much to look through,
- 25:09Speaker 2: is what she told me.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Okay, it would be too much, it would be too
- 25:14Speaker 1: much work basically, okay.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Yeah, And then I learned about Fox Hill and knowing
- 25:21Speaker 2: that they had a place to start from to track
- 25:24Speaker 2: its movements. They themselves saw him at fox Hill. They
- 25:27Speaker 2: could have kind of tracked him from there where he
- 25:29Speaker 2: went right, they didn't like, they just kind of shrugged
- 25:35Speaker 2: shrugged it off. So we went to fox Hill, or
- 25:42Speaker 2: we reached out to Fox Hill to see if the
- 25:44Speaker 2: manager would be willing to talk with us to shed
- 25:46Speaker 2: some more light onto what happened. Why did he get
- 25:49Speaker 2: a trespass warning? And the manager did sit down with
- 25:54Speaker 2: us and said that on Thursday, November fourth, a customer
- 26:01Speaker 2: had made a complaint that Vladik was making him feel uncomfortable.
- 26:06Speaker 2: And the manager said, you know, it's not uncommon for
- 26:10Speaker 2: a customer to complain that vlad makes him feel comfortable,
- 26:13Speaker 2: because Vladik kind of has like an atypical personality at
- 26:19Speaker 2: the coffee shop where he'll get his coffee, and sometimes
- 26:22Speaker 2: he'll paste around the coffee shop listening to his music.
- 26:25Speaker 2: He doesn't sit still kind of thing, and sometimes he'll
- 26:29Speaker 2: kind of sing to his music a little bit, and
- 26:31Speaker 2: customers will be like can you ask him to sit down?
- 26:33Speaker 2: Can you ask him to quiet down? Every time the
- 26:38Speaker 2: employees would ask Flatik to sit down or keep it down,
- 26:41Speaker 2: Flatic would And so this time customer made a complaint
- 26:47Speaker 2: saying that he was making him feel uncomfortable. He didn't
- 26:49Speaker 2: really go into specifics, but that customer then left. He
- 26:56Speaker 2: said he was gonna leave. So since that guy left,
- 26:58Speaker 2: they didn't say anything to Vladick. The customer came back
- 27:03Speaker 2: later on and said, hey, I think Vladick might have
- 27:07Speaker 2: been sitting outside at this point. He said, Hey, I
- 27:11Speaker 2: just want to let you know the person I made
- 27:13Speaker 2: that complaint about. I also saw him place a pocket
- 27:17Speaker 2: knife on the table. So since Fox still has a
- 27:21Speaker 2: zero weapons policy, they decided to go ahead and issue
- 27:24Speaker 2: a trespass warning, which I get it, you just don't
- 27:28Speaker 2: know now. At this point, Vladick had already left. He
- 27:32Speaker 2: wasn't there. He was unaware that there was any issue.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Dad left for Tennessee the following day, on Friday the fifth,
- 27:43Speaker 2: Vladick helped him get the suitcase in the car packed
- 27:46Speaker 2: the car. Dad left him with one hundred dollars a
- 27:50Speaker 2: credit card, and he asked him, if you want any
- 27:53Speaker 2: more groceries for the fridge. Bladick said, no, this is plenty.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Dad told him that the package was coming in a
- 28:00Speaker 2: couple of days if he could bring it inside. Vladick
- 28:02Speaker 2: said he would. Later on, at like two am Saturday morning,
- 28:10Speaker 2: Vladig Arena have a phone conversation. Arena is his biological sister,
- 28:16Speaker 2: and they typically call each other talk at least once
- 28:20Speaker 2: a day. She said there was nothing out of the
- 28:23Speaker 2: ordinary with the conversation was about five minutes, just checking
- 28:26Speaker 2: in on each other. It was kind of a typical
- 28:30Speaker 2: time for them to talk at the early hour mornings
- 28:33Speaker 2: because they're both up there night owls, they're not out.
- 28:37Speaker 2: So the following morning is we learned that Vladick went
- 28:42Speaker 2: back to Foxtille. And what's kind of weird to me
- 28:48Speaker 2: is that he went back there so early. Flatix sleeps in.
- 28:52Speaker 2: He doesn't wake up before eleven typically, But he walked
- 28:56Speaker 2: back to Foxtille and on the time stamp is a
- 29:00Speaker 2: like eight thirty Saturday morning, and he walked there because
- 29:04Speaker 2: he didn't have access to a vehicle, so he bought
- 29:09Speaker 2: a cup of coffee and fox Stale went ahead and
- 29:11Speaker 2: issued had the sheriff's office come out to issue the
- 29:14Speaker 2: trust pass warning. And when the officer came out, he
- 29:21Speaker 2: didn't tell Vladik why. He just said kind of a
- 29:24Speaker 2: generic you know, it's a private business. They can issue
- 29:28Speaker 2: a trustpass whatever for whatever they feel. And you could,
- 29:38Speaker 2: like we've seen the body cam footage. We didn't get
- 29:41Speaker 2: to see it until like September, so like ten months
- 29:45Speaker 2: after he went missing, but you could really see like
- 29:49Speaker 2: the hurt and confusion in his eyes, and throughout the
- 29:52Speaker 2: whole thing, he was still trying to be you know,
- 29:58Speaker 2: kind and talk about you know, how's your going, trying
- 30:01Speaker 2: to talk about the weather, just trying to make small.
- 30:03Speaker 1: He wasn't being mean or he wasn't, you know, trying
- 30:06Speaker 1: to aggravate. Now, does trespass mean he could never go
- 30:09Speaker 1: back there?
- 30:11Speaker 2: The officer told him that if he ever came back,
- 30:14Speaker 2: he would be arrested, so they called the trespass warning.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Okay, I just didn't know that meant you can never
- 30:24Speaker 1: go back?
- 30:25Speaker 4: Wow?
- 30:26Speaker 1: Yeah's a public coffee how it's a retail place?
- 30:29Speaker 2: Okay? Yeah, So in the bodycam footage, like he pulls
- 30:35Speaker 2: out things from his pockets and he's got the credit card.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Dad left him with a bank of America card, his
- 30:42Speaker 2: driver's license, he doesn't have the pocket knife on him
- 30:48Speaker 2: or anything. And the officer asks him, you know about
- 30:53Speaker 2: his phone, and Vladick says, I just got a new number.
- 30:58Speaker 2: I don't remember the number. My phone's left at the apartment,
- 31:04Speaker 2: and like everything on his person, the credit card, the debit,
- 31:11Speaker 2: the Bank of America card, driver's license, the clothing he's
- 31:14Speaker 2: wearing is all still missing. Okay, last charge or the
- 31:20Speaker 2: only charge on that credit card that dad left him
- 31:22Speaker 2: was for Foxtale. There's no other charges been since that time.
- 31:29Speaker 2: The when he said his phone was still at the apartment.
- 31:32Speaker 2: When Dad got back to the apartment the following week,
- 31:36Speaker 2: his phone was there, the pocket knife was there, all
- 31:39Speaker 2: of that.
- 31:40Speaker 1: So they didn't try to go from foxtail. You know,
- 31:44Speaker 1: he's there, you talk to him, and now you hear
- 31:46Speaker 1: a week later is missing. Just me. I'm not in
- 31:50Speaker 1: law enforcement, but couldn't have gone and looked at the
- 31:52Speaker 1: cameras and kind of tracked where I went.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Yeah, but I didn't. I feel like they, you know,
- 32:01Speaker 2: they did what they quote unquote were obligated to do
- 32:08Speaker 2: with the searching, but they didn't. I feel like they
- 32:12Speaker 2: treated him as an adult man that walked away and
- 32:17Speaker 2: they didn't dig deep, which you know, you don't know
- 32:25Speaker 2: if he walked away on his own accord or not unless.
- 32:27Speaker 1: You didn't, let's say, how do you know? And maybe
- 32:31Speaker 1: he meant to walk somewhere and maybe something happened while
- 32:35Speaker 1: he was doing that.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, so yeah, there was. I had spoken with
- 32:47Speaker 2: the apartment complex to see if there was any footage
- 32:52Speaker 2: at the complex. I stopped by their office the day
- 32:57Speaker 2: we report him missing, and I said, hey, you know,
- 33:01Speaker 2: do you have any footage? Is there any cameras? And
- 33:03Speaker 2: they said that there's a camera in the laundry room
- 33:06Speaker 2: and the gym, and Vladick used that gem often like
- 33:12Speaker 2: that was one of his places to go. They said
- 33:15Speaker 2: the footage saves for about a week, but they couldn't
- 33:19Speaker 2: show me or let me see it. It had to
- 33:22Speaker 2: go through law enforcement. So I just told the detective
- 33:26Speaker 2: that day, said hey, they've got footage saves for about
- 33:30Speaker 2: a week in case he went missing between this timeframe
- 33:34Speaker 2: and not near the time. At this point I didn't
- 33:36Speaker 2: know about Fox Steel, but still this would have been
- 33:39Speaker 2: after Fox Steale. But just in case, right, they'll show
- 33:44Speaker 2: it to you. It keeps for a week, and I
- 33:48Speaker 2: followed up a week later to check in to see
- 33:51Speaker 2: what they found, and the detective said it was still
- 33:53Speaker 2: on their list of things to do.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Even though they were only going to keep it for
- 33:58Speaker 1: a week. Yeah, expiration date like milk. You don't drink
- 34:03Speaker 1: milk past, so you get it before.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Hey, okay, yeah, the it's unfortunate. I feel like the
- 34:14Speaker 2: ball was dropped in some critical areas that could have
- 34:17Speaker 2: really helped his case early on. There's no turning back
- 34:22Speaker 2: the clock now. But like they had Flatteck's phone, they
- 34:28Speaker 2: had the laptop that Dad shared with Ladick. I don't
- 34:31Speaker 2: think the laptop really held much because it was kind
- 34:35Speaker 2: of tucked away in a closet for a year, So
- 34:36Speaker 2: I don't think that was I'm not too worried about that.
- 34:39Speaker 2: But like they gave his phone back to us in February,
- 34:42Speaker 2: three months later, and the back Yeah, they gave it
- 34:47Speaker 2: back to us. And I asked the detective, like, did
- 34:52Speaker 2: you learn anything from the phone? Were you able to
- 34:55Speaker 2: speak with anyone that Vladick had been in contact with?
- 34:59Speaker 2: And the detective looked me straight in the eyes and said, no,
- 35:02Speaker 2: I thought you did, so, Like, what was the point
- 35:06Speaker 2: of having it.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Like I wasn't thought you did his job before him. Okay,
- 35:12Speaker 1: I have to tell you, I you would think after
- 35:15Speaker 1: all this time, I would not be shocked by stuff.
- 35:19Speaker 2: But wow, wow, yeah, after all the like.
- 35:29Speaker 1: But they didn't take it serious.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Vestigation, Like they didn't even want us posting flyers. Like
- 35:36Speaker 2: you go from not wanting us posting flyers, not wanting
- 35:39Speaker 2: us to have our own search teams come out, and
- 35:42Speaker 2: now you're saying you didn't look at the phone because
- 35:44Speaker 2: you thought I did. Like, it was just really frustrating, extremely.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Why didn't they want you to put posters out?
- 35:54Speaker 2: I don't know. We did, but they weren't happy about it.
- 36:01Speaker 1: But you did the right thing. They can get over that. Now.
- 36:05Speaker 1: He was reported to being seen at the apartments right
- 36:09Speaker 1: like November twelfth or fifteenth. Were those sightings credible? Did
- 36:15Speaker 1: anybody have door camera, ring bells or anything? I forget
- 36:18Speaker 1: what they're called ring cameras?
- 36:20Speaker 2: Yeah, so I believe the sightings happened. There are people
- 36:26Speaker 2: that hung out with Vladik, played basketball with Vladeck. I'm
- 36:31Speaker 2: not sure if the dates are right. Okay, so the
- 36:37Speaker 2: November twelfth sighting that was from a maintenance worker at
- 36:43Speaker 2: the apartment complex. He had my dad and I posted
- 36:50Speaker 2: flyers in the apartment complex with my dad's phone number
- 36:54Speaker 2: on them on day one, and the maintenance worker left
- 36:58Speaker 2: a voicemail on Dad's phone saying, hey, you know, I
- 37:01Speaker 2: saw your son. We talked for about five minutes last
- 37:04Speaker 2: Friday at the basketball court, and my dad is hard
- 37:11Speaker 2: of hearing, so when he heard the voicemail, he thought
- 37:14Speaker 2: the maintenance worker said that we should check the woods
- 37:18Speaker 2: because he saw Vladick walk into the woods. So that's
- 37:21Speaker 2: the report that we relate to the I listened to
- 37:26Speaker 2: the voicemail a few days later, and I realized that
- 37:31Speaker 2: the maintenance worker said you should check the woods because
- 37:34Speaker 2: of Ladick was known to like hang out in the
- 37:36Speaker 2: woods and smoke and sing and that kind of thing.
- 37:39Speaker 1: I wasn't seen that day doing going there. Okay, he wasn't.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Seen walking into the woods. That stayed as on their
- 37:47Speaker 2: flyer till like a couple months, even though we tried
- 37:52Speaker 2: to get them to change it. So a lot of
- 37:54Speaker 2: the news stations at the beginning put that in their story,
- 37:58Speaker 2: that black was seen walking off into the woods. But
- 38:05Speaker 2: I wonder if that citing. You know, the mainans worker
- 38:10Speaker 2: didn't give it an exact date. He just said last Friday.
- 38:14Speaker 2: And like, last Friday can mean many things to many people.
- 38:18Speaker 2: Right Friday could be like it could mean this past Friday,
- 38:21Speaker 2: or could mean a week ago Friday. So to me,
- 38:27Speaker 2: it seems more plausible that interaction happened on Friday the fifth,
- 38:31Speaker 2: the day my dad left town, because everything seemed to
- 38:35Speaker 2: stop after November sixth, his phone, all the text messages,
- 38:41Speaker 2: phone calls, all missed calls from the six on arena
- 38:47Speaker 2: started blowing up his phone trying to get a hold
- 38:49Speaker 2: of him from the sixth on and he never answered her.
- 38:53Speaker 2: He never brought in that package. And my dad in
- 38:57Speaker 2: Vladis apartment is really like twenty ish feet from the
- 39:02Speaker 2: basketball court and you have to take the sidewalk that's
- 39:05Speaker 2: in front of their door to get to the basketball court.
- 39:09Speaker 2: So like he walked by their front door, Like if
- 39:12Speaker 2: he was really there on the twelfth, wouldn't he have
- 39:14Speaker 2: brought it inside? Wouldn't he have backed after a week
- 39:18Speaker 2: like it just it doesn't make a lot of sense
- 39:21Speaker 2: to me. So that's why I really wonder if it
- 39:23Speaker 2: was the fifth or not. And the other sighting was
- 39:30Speaker 2: November fifteenth, a friend of his said that he came
- 39:34Speaker 2: to his door like three in the morning on the
- 39:36Speaker 2: fifteenth and asked if he could stay the night there,
- 39:42Speaker 2: and his friend said, you know, you can't. I'm sorry.
- 39:46Speaker 2: My girlfriend's here, her kids are gonna be getting up
- 39:48Speaker 2: soon to get ready for school. There's just not enough
- 39:51Speaker 2: space in Vladik, Is there any words I can't say? Okay?
- 40:00Speaker 2: Vladig immediately asked for a gun, and his friend said, no,
- 40:05Speaker 2: I don't have a gun. Why do you need it,
- 40:07Speaker 2: you know? And Vladick told him that it was for protection.
- 40:13Speaker 2: And when his friend kind of pressed him, like protection
- 40:15Speaker 2: against what Vladick said for an animal. And Vladick is
- 40:21Speaker 2: one that he doesn't like people to worry about him.
- 40:24Speaker 2: He doesn't like he'll he wants to learn your story,
- 40:27Speaker 2: but he won't share his. Yeah, he doesn't want anyone
- 40:32Speaker 2: to worry about him at all. So when he said
- 40:36Speaker 2: like for an animal, I wonder if he was just
- 40:38Speaker 2: trying of trying to downplay.
- 40:40Speaker 1: It a bit, but it's hard to say.
- 40:45Speaker 2: And then he told him Vladick told his friend that
- 40:49Speaker 2: he wanted to go off grid, and I wonder, like
- 40:56Speaker 2: if I just wonder if that interaction actually happened on
- 41:01Speaker 2: the fifteenth, since everything seemed to stop on the sixth, Like,
- 41:05Speaker 2: where was he that week right now? Showing up at
- 41:08Speaker 2: his friend's house and what his friend describes him as
- 41:12Speaker 2: wearing seems very similar to what he's wearing at during
- 41:15Speaker 2: the Fox Hill trespass, So like.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Yeah, why did the friend think it was the fifteenth?
- 41:25Speaker 1: Was he just like, oh, I think it was the fifteenth,
- 41:27Speaker 1: or was he like adamant, No, I know for sure
- 41:29Speaker 1: it was the fifteenth.
- 41:32Speaker 2: That's just what the detective related to us.
- 41:35Speaker 1: I haven't oh, y'all haven't talked to the friend.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Okay, specifically my PI Steve Fisher, has had long conversations
- 41:45Speaker 2: with them, but like it's been so long, like it's
- 41:48Speaker 2: one of those things, like it seems like it was
- 41:51Speaker 2: the fifteenth, but I just really wonder was it.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it's harnessing after Did the police ever to see, like,
- 42:01Speaker 1: you know, if somebody's actually in an apartment, like if
- 42:04Speaker 1: he would have went home, he would have used water electricity.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Did they check to see if the usage went up
- 42:11Speaker 1: showing somebody was in the apartment? Did they do anything
- 42:14Speaker 1: like that that would have.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Been really smart. I never even thought about that.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I mean that might be something p I
- 42:22Speaker 1: can maybe look into ce because if he goes in
- 42:25Speaker 1: and you turn on the TV, the radio or the
- 42:27Speaker 1: hot shower, you know, to maybe find out if he
- 42:31Speaker 1: did go back, you could see what date.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll look into that. I'm not hopefully there's a
- 42:38Speaker 2: way to still find that information.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know how long.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Yeah, but definitely worth looking into for sure.
- 42:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Now did your dad say anything stood out in the
- 42:49Speaker 1: apartment is odd? Besides the phone and stuff being there.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Did it look like he packed things or did it
- 42:58Speaker 1: just look like normal? He left, just look.
- 43:01Speaker 2: Like normal, No clothes missing that he could tell, nothing
- 43:07Speaker 2: like that. Just Yeah. And the other thing is they
- 43:14Speaker 2: never locked the apartment door. They don't. They never, They
- 43:17Speaker 2: didn't have a key for it. So I wonder if
- 43:21Speaker 2: you know, him asking to stay at different people's houses,
- 43:24Speaker 2: if he was in fear of someone, and since the
- 43:28Speaker 2: apartment doesn't have a lock, he didn't want them to
- 43:31Speaker 2: find out where he lived, that kind of thing.
- 43:34Speaker 1: Oh, so there wasn't a lock on the door. I
- 43:37Speaker 1: thought they just didn't have a key.
- 43:39Speaker 2: He could lock it on the inside.
- 43:41Speaker 1: Oh, but he couldn't. Eve it can't be locked yeah,
- 43:46Speaker 1: that makes sense.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, since he went missing in September of
- 43:58Speaker 2: twenty twenty one, was it huraking one, Yeah, it was
- 44:04Speaker 2: two years ago. That's two twenty twenty two. Hurricane Ian
- 44:10Speaker 2: hit and the apartment complex got flooded out and so
- 44:16Speaker 2: now no one lives there, Like they had to completely
- 44:20Speaker 2: evacuate everybody. My dad was in the process of moving
- 44:24Speaker 2: in with us that week during the hurricane, so we
- 44:29Speaker 2: were in the process of moving some things out, but
- 44:31Speaker 2: we weren't able to get everything. Thankfully, my dad wasn't
- 44:35Speaker 2: there during the hurricane. Because the apartments closer to the
- 44:40Speaker 2: back of the property, some of them got up to
- 44:42Speaker 2: five feet six feet of water. My dad in Vladocks
- 44:46Speaker 2: apartment was closer to the front by the basketball court
- 44:49Speaker 2: and they got three feet of water. But we ended
- 44:53Speaker 2: up losing majority of Ladox belongings hurricane. Yeah. So like
- 45:03Speaker 2: even if you were to like show up, that no
- 45:06Speaker 2: longer exists either.
- 45:09Speaker 1: So now he had developed an interest in religion right
- 45:14Speaker 1: and was spending time at a church. Did he say
- 45:17Speaker 1: what drew him to that? I mean, I know he
- 45:19Speaker 1: liked helping people. Was there something that you know attracted
- 45:24Speaker 1: him to them? Because I believe it was a Catholic church.
- 45:27Speaker 2: It was, so, you know, it was it was different
- 45:34Speaker 2: because we're raised Christian. But I think it was more
- 45:37Speaker 2: the availability of the prayer garden. He really liked being
- 45:42Speaker 2: able to go out in their prayer garden and just
- 45:44Speaker 2: spend time alone. And he was known to like walk
- 45:49Speaker 2: a lot. Like even though him and Dad shared a car,
- 45:52Speaker 2: oftentimes Vladick would just walk to places instead. So I
- 45:56Speaker 2: he never told me specifically, but I feel like it
- 45:58Speaker 2: was a matter of convenience. He saw it. It's close
- 46:00Speaker 2: to their apartment complex, and he just decided to check
- 46:04Speaker 2: it out, and that just became a place for him
- 46:06Speaker 2: kind of thing.
- 46:08Speaker 1: Kind of a chill place. Yeah, you mentioned that his
- 46:11Speaker 1: friend said he wanted to live off the grid. Did
- 46:16Speaker 1: Do you think there was motivation behind that or do
- 46:19Speaker 1: you think it was one of those just to say,
- 46:23Speaker 1: you know, just like when I say I'm gonna run
- 46:25Speaker 1: off and go live in France, but I don't have
- 46:28Speaker 1: any plans to really do it.
- 46:31Speaker 2: It was something he talked about over the year, But
- 46:35Speaker 2: I feel like I feel like he was trying to
- 46:42Speaker 2: hide from someone. I feel like there was someone potentially
- 46:47Speaker 2: that he was trying to create some space with. But
- 46:51Speaker 2: I don't feel like initially it started off with him
- 46:55Speaker 2: living off the grid, living a homeless lifestyle. Maybe it's
- 47:00Speaker 2: become that now. But Vlade's personality like he did, you know,
- 47:06Speaker 2: help the homeless a lot, bringing meals to people, taking
- 47:09Speaker 2: them to the movies, that kind of thing. But he
- 47:13Speaker 2: also is nothing's diagnosed, but I feel like he has
- 47:20Speaker 2: some like OCD personalities where he's constantly washing his hands,
- 47:25Speaker 2: well a couple showers a day. He it's afraid of
- 47:31Speaker 2: the dark, you know, like stuff like that. I don't
- 47:33Speaker 2: feel like that's where it started. I think it might
- 47:37Speaker 2: have been maybe he went and stayed with a friend somewhere.
- 47:41Speaker 2: Maybe something else happened. I don't know, but.
- 47:45Speaker 1: Yeah, did he have any social media? Was he on
- 47:47Speaker 1: any of the social media platforms?
- 47:51Speaker 4: He has?
- 47:51Speaker 1: Facebook or anything?
- 47:53Speaker 2: Facebook and an Instagram, neither one he uses like post
- 48:00Speaker 2: kind of thing. Instagram he used a little bit more
- 48:03Speaker 2: than the Facebook, but that had been like five years
- 48:06Speaker 2: before he since he had posted anything. He used more
- 48:09Speaker 2: for like messaging and like the video call option he
- 48:15Speaker 2: would do like since he would do that for video calls,
- 48:19Speaker 2: since like sometimes he had Android and siblings would have iPhones,
- 48:23Speaker 2: so you can't do video calls back in Facebook, So
- 48:27Speaker 2: that was more of how he would utilize those platforms.
- 48:31Speaker 2: And then he also really liked to play video games
- 48:34Speaker 2: like PlayStation that kind of thing too.
- 48:39Speaker 1: Now, had he ever gone off before like this and
- 48:42Speaker 1: kind of just disappeared even for a day or two,
- 48:45Speaker 1: or was this totally out of the norm for him?
- 48:49Speaker 2: Nothing, He's always been in contact with family. He's never
- 48:52Speaker 2: he's never not lived with family, except for maybe a
- 48:55Speaker 2: couple months with a friend, but he's always lived with
- 48:59Speaker 2: family otherwise.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Now, I know you've been relentless in getting the word
- 49:07Speaker 1: out there and trying to find him. What all steps
- 49:11Speaker 1: have you taken, because you know, maybe law enforcement didn't do.
- 49:20Speaker 2: It's truly been with the help of so many individuals
- 49:25Speaker 2: that has been able to keep me going, like Hayley
- 49:27Speaker 2: Moms and Mysteries Navigate. There's so many people, you guys,
- 49:33Speaker 2: that have come alongside to advocate for Vladik to get
- 49:36Speaker 2: his face and name out there. That's what's going to
- 49:40Speaker 2: do all the difference. Just because Vlatick is known to
- 49:45Speaker 2: start up conversations with strangers, I believe there are people
- 49:49Speaker 2: out there that will remember him if I can just
- 49:51Speaker 2: reach those people, and the only way to reach those
- 49:54Speaker 2: people is through social media and getting his story as
- 49:58Speaker 2: far out as we can. He doesn't have a passport,
- 50:05Speaker 2: Like he didn't go back to Russia anything.
- 50:07Speaker 1: He didn't leave. Now, the police gave you his phone back, right, Yes,
- 50:12Speaker 1: were you able to call anybody in there that he
- 50:16Speaker 1: had listed as a contact?
- 50:19Speaker 2: Our PI Steve Fisher was able to reach out to
- 50:22Speaker 2: people and nothing really that stood out there. There was
- 50:29Speaker 2: a couple homeless individuals that had The only thing that
- 50:35Speaker 2: really stood out was like they had reached out to
- 50:39Speaker 2: Vladik over like forty times in the span of a
- 50:43Speaker 2: month or so, and Vladick didn't really use his phone
- 50:46Speaker 2: very much to begin with, and like that was out
- 50:49Speaker 2: of the ordinary. And that was probably like August of
- 50:55Speaker 2: twenty twenty one, a few months before he went missing,
- 50:59Speaker 2: and Flatick broke his plone, broke his phone and told
- 51:04Speaker 2: Dad that he broke it because it was a distraction
- 51:08Speaker 2: and he didn't want to get a new phone. It
- 51:11Speaker 2: took Dad and Arena convincing him, you have to have
- 51:14Speaker 2: something right, And he went without a phone for about
- 51:18Speaker 2: five weeks before he got the flip phone that he
- 51:22Speaker 2: had when he went missing.
- 51:24Speaker 1: The old kind of yeah old yep, like the yeah,
- 51:29Speaker 1: no pictures, no camera taken right, just a phone okay, basic.
- 51:33Speaker 2: For calling and you have to type one number multiple
- 51:37Speaker 2: times to get a letter.
- 51:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember that phone.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Just he was menimalistic at that time.
- 51:44Speaker 1: It was something, you know, at least he had a.
- 51:46Speaker 2: Phone, right, he had a way of contact. So when
- 51:50Speaker 2: he got a new phone about five weeks later, he
- 51:54Speaker 2: changed the number. And that's not something he had to do.
- 52:00Speaker 2: All he really needs to do is get a new phone.
- 52:03Speaker 2: He could have kept the same number, but he decided
- 52:05Speaker 2: to get a new number. He didn't really give us
- 52:07Speaker 2: a reason why or anything. But after looking at the
- 52:11Speaker 2: phone call log and everything, you could see that the
- 52:15Speaker 2: forty calls stopped and when he got a new number,
- 52:19Speaker 2: they never continued. So it looks like he was trying
- 52:21Speaker 2: to create some space there. So you know, Vladik is
- 52:27Speaker 2: a very he has a very generous heart. He looks
- 52:30Speaker 2: for the best in people, and I worry that he
- 52:34Speaker 2: might have gotten taken advantage of from individuals. I don't
- 52:40Speaker 2: know if there was people that he was afraid of,
- 52:43Speaker 2: I don't know. Maybe he was trying to create space
- 52:49Speaker 2: and I don't know, but yeah, that was really concerning
- 52:56Speaker 2: to me.
- 52:57Speaker 1: Yeah, forty times is a lot. There's a lot of calls. Now,
- 53:03Speaker 1: how has his disappearance impacted you and the family?
- 53:10Speaker 2: Oh, man, I feel like it's still November seventeenth, twenty
- 53:18Speaker 2: twenty one, the day he went missing. Like, I can't
- 53:21Speaker 2: believe that we're reaching almost three years searching for him.
- 53:31Speaker 2: I never saw it going out this far, Like I
- 53:34Speaker 2: thought he'd be walking through that door at any point,
- 53:41Speaker 2: but he hasn't. He hasn't reached out to anyone, and
- 53:45Speaker 2: it tears my family up. We're so worried about him.
- 53:50Speaker 2: He he wouldn't let us worry. He would have if
- 53:56Speaker 2: he chose to go off the grid do his own thing,
- 53:59Speaker 2: he would have reached out to somebody and let us know,
- 54:02Speaker 2: like you can stop, I'm doing my thing. I'm fine.
- 54:06Speaker 1: He wouldn't let you worry.
- 54:08Speaker 2: There's been absolutely nothing, and he doesn't like to be
- 54:12Speaker 2: in the spotlight like it you have to literally full
- 54:16Speaker 2: teeth to get him in a picture. And if he
- 54:20Speaker 2: realized how much his story has been shared, his face,
- 54:26Speaker 2: he would have reached out, you know, as soon as
- 54:29Speaker 2: he's like, please stop, I'm good. But there hasn't been
- 54:34Speaker 2: any of that something hot.
- 54:38Speaker 1: Have any tips come in that the police have shared
- 54:40Speaker 1: with you.
- 54:42Speaker 2: There's been potential tips in that kind of thing, but
- 54:45Speaker 2: nothing that's panned out. Yeah, we have no direction of
- 54:52Speaker 2: where to look of where he could be.
- 54:55Speaker 1: Like, I guess it's too late now to try get
- 55:00Speaker 1: the video from the businesses, right.
- 55:03Speaker 2: Yeah, And it just it blows my mind because he's
- 55:07Speaker 2: so well recognized in the Eastern area. Like I went
- 55:12Speaker 2: to all those businesses and passed out flyers and they
- 55:16Speaker 2: all remembered him. They were all like, Oh, he comes
- 55:19Speaker 2: here all the time. But I haven't seen him since
- 55:22Speaker 2: that day he went or since around he went missing
- 55:24Speaker 2: kind of thing, Like to go from being so well
- 55:27Speaker 2: recognized to nothing.
- 55:29Speaker 1: Yeah, you think somebody would have seen him.
- 55:33Speaker 2: Like he just has such a memorable personality. Like I
- 55:38Speaker 2: had a stranger reach out to me on Reddit and
- 55:43Speaker 2: was like, Oh, my gosh, is this is that your
- 55:46Speaker 2: brother that's missing? Is this his phone number? I had
- 55:50Speaker 2: a conversation with him at the gym a few months
- 55:53Speaker 2: ago and he wanted to know about me and all
- 55:56Speaker 2: this stuff. And we never ended up paying out after that,
- 56:00Speaker 2: but he gave me his number to hang out and like,
- 56:03Speaker 2: so that interaction was before he went missing. But the
- 56:06Speaker 2: number that she sent me or him, I don't know
- 56:10Speaker 2: him or her was Vladi's number, So like that just
- 56:14Speaker 2: proves to me that people will remember him if we
- 56:18Speaker 2: can just write people.
- 56:21Speaker 1: Now, besides the initial thing where it was said that
- 56:24Speaker 1: he was walking off into the woods, has there been
- 56:27Speaker 1: any other misconceptions or rumors around his disappearance?
- 56:34Speaker 2: M hmmm, nothing that comes to mind. Can you think
- 56:40Speaker 2: of anything, Hayley, I don't think so. Yeah.
- 56:49Speaker 1: Well that's good, you know, because sometimes you hear there
- 56:52Speaker 1: are so many far out rumors that it's hard. So
- 56:59Speaker 1: what can the people who are watching this or listen
- 57:03Speaker 1: to this later, what can they do to help support
- 57:07Speaker 1: you and your family and help try to find Vladik.
- 57:11Speaker 2: That's a great question. Just taking the time to a
- 57:16Speaker 2: story today, that's huge. And if you can just take
- 57:22Speaker 2: a few more moments to reshare his flyer his story
- 57:25Speaker 2: on your social media pages, because you'd never know how
- 57:30Speaker 2: your friend circle is connected to another friend circle who
- 57:33Speaker 2: might know him or like even I would love to
- 57:39Speaker 2: hear from people that you know interactive with Ladick. The
- 57:43Speaker 2: week stays leading up to when he went missing too,
- 57:47Speaker 2: because that sheds light into his mindset, That sheds light
- 57:50Speaker 2: into what he was talking about during those days. Like
- 57:54Speaker 2: you know, anything helps, anything can give a clearer picture
- 57:58Speaker 2: of where to look, and you can follow along the
- 58:03Speaker 2: search for him on a social media pages Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube,
- 58:10Speaker 2: everything by just searching Fine Bladick and you'll find it
- 58:15Speaker 2: and just honestly continuing to reshare his story because that's
- 58:18Speaker 2: what it's going to take to reach so on the.
- 58:22Speaker 1: I mean, that's what I tried to tell everybody. I Mean,
- 58:24Speaker 1: we think it's something so simple, but it really can
- 58:29Speaker 1: have a huge impact. It really can.
- 58:33Speaker 2: Have You.
- 58:37Speaker 1: Do you I'm trying to think of how to say it,
- 58:40Speaker 1: go back and forth between you think something happened to him,
- 58:44Speaker 1: because he wouldn't have just walked off and left you
- 58:47Speaker 1: hanging right, So my first thought leads to, somebody has
- 58:52Speaker 1: to know something. He didn't just walk off on his own,
- 58:55Speaker 1: So something happened.
- 58:58Speaker 2: That I missed one?
- 58:59Speaker 1: Are you do you kind of lean to something happen
- 59:02Speaker 1: to him or set of him walking off on his
- 59:06Speaker 1: own or.
- 59:08Speaker 2: He is I mean, there's there's so many possibilities, but
- 59:13Speaker 2: the ones that I lean that I'm lean more to
- 59:18Speaker 2: is he's protecting us that there's someone that he is
- 59:24Speaker 2: afraid of and he doesn't want us involved. Like that's
- 59:29Speaker 2: a possibility. I wonder like the trespass at Foxtail, Like
- 59:39Speaker 2: how much did that really affect him? Like that could
- 59:42Speaker 2: have been a real breaking point for him mentally.
- 59:45Speaker 1: It could have.
- 59:45Speaker 2: Yeah, So like what is his mindset after that? You know,
- 59:50Speaker 2: like the what was it? Like I'm trying to us
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: think of the terminology, but like mental health in young
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: men's lives typically manifest right around that.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Aage ring right around that age, So.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: Like did that set something off? Did that affect him
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: in a way?
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Like absolutely? After you know, not being able to fulfill
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: his dream in the Marines and you've always been a
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: good person, law abiding, then to get told hey you
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: ever come back here, you're getting arrested. That would impact
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: somebody who's got such a big heart.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, Yeah.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Oh well, I thank you so much for meeting with
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: us and for you know, joining us today. Is there
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: anything else that you would like to share with us
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: and you would like everyone to know or Vladik if
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: he sees.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: This, glad, if you see this, you're not in trouble.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: We love you and I just want to be able
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: to hug you again. Know if you're okay. So if
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: you're just able to reach out to someone and just
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: let us know we need you back. I'm not gonna
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: make you come back to any situation, but I just
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: need to know. I just need you back in my life.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: I just missed you so much. And for those that are,
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: for those that are watching, if you we do go
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: live on TikTok every Tuesday night, typically around nine o'clock
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: Eastern time, so you can also follow the search that way.
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: If you have questions in the weeks and the months
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: coming up, you can come join the discussion there and
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: get real answers. There's also a very detailed timeline of
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: the events leading up to Volodex disappearance that Hailey, the
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: Lovely Haley helped me put together, and we can have
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: that link as well to check it out.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: I'll shared it in the chat. We'll see if it worked.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: How about that Terry was able to figure out how
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: to do a chat.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: There is a link tree that has a list of
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: all the platforms the time.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: Oh, it's very detailed. I mean, you guys have I mean,
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: it's amazing I mean, I was like, well, there gives
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: me everything that we need to know. And I have
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: to ask it's his favorite color green?
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: His favorite color is neon green and black.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Okay kind of I kind of got that vibe, And
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: especially when I found the bracelet taped to the back
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: of the card, I was like, Okay, he definitely liked
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: that neon green. Yeah, yeah, which, Well, I thank you
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: both for coming.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: Haley.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: I want to say thank you, didn't you. I Mean,
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: I'm not part of the family, but everything I have
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: heard from talking to other people about you who've worked
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: with you or heard of you, you are like a
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: little wonder woman I hear, and I just want to
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: say thank you because I think it means a lot
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: to the families, and you do something that those of
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: us can't, and I just I think that's amazing. It
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: gives me goosebumps.
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: Oh, well, thank you so much.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: I'm definitely honored to be in this position. And I
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: don't have kids or anything, so I'm able to like
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: dedicate a lot of time. And yeah, I'm just so
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: thankful that I'm able to do this, and thankful to
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: Bethany for letting me in. I know we're wrapping things up.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: But when I just want to say, like Bethany has
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: been so welcoming to me, Like I helped with the
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: vigil lash year and I flew to Florida for that
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: and I got in a day early and Bethany was like, Hey,
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: we're celebrating my dad's birthday.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: Want to go to dinner with us?
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: And I just like went to dinner with the whole
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: family and it was like, I'm getting goose, I'm thinking
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: about that.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: Like it was just it.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: Was like I was just immediately part of the family,
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: and they're so lovely, and you just every conversation you
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: have with them, you just know how much they miss
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: Lad and how they just want him to come home.
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: And yeah, but your you know, your love for Vlad
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: is so inspiring and it makes me want to do
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: these things.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: But thank you so.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Much for having me. And I was glad to share
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: extra info in the chat there for people because this
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: is probably Bethany and I've worked on a document about
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: Vlad's case for months, and she just has so much information.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: You know, a lot of the times with the missing
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: person cases, you don't know a bunch, but Bethany knows
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: everything and so there are so many extra details where
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: I was like, oh, I know more about that, let
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: me stake that child. No.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: I love that because I mean, unfortunately there sometimes law
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: enforcement doesn't give a lot of information, or people don't
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: have the other resources a PI or things like that.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: I mean, you guys have a lot of information, and
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: I'm a firm believer that data and information is going
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: to help you find him. It's not going to be
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: just social media because nobody knows. It could just be
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: one little bitty piece of information that they give you,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: and Bethany's can be like oh wait, wait, wait, wait,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: that fits right here, and then you're gonna be like,
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: oh my gosh, this is where he is, you know.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: And that's the thing that gets me excited because I'm
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: a weirdo like that. But just knowing that it's just
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: that one small little piece of information and so the
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: fact that you're keeping it and so well organized, it's great.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: So many people. I'm so grateful to each and every
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: one of you guys, to you Terry for helping advocate
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: for Vladik. It is truly a team and I'm just
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: grateful for each and every one of you.
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: I say it takes a full community. They say, it
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: takes a tribe to raise a child. When a family
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: member goes missing, it takes the entire everybody. It's not
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: just family.
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: Absolutely, yeah.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: And I want to thank you to all of the
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: viewers who are watching this live and for anyone that's
