- 0:36Speaker 1: in the world. That's right over eleven and a half
- 0:38Speaker 1: year strong. We got a great discussion coming your way
- 0:41Speaker 1: here on Opposition Territory. As we do every week, We've
- 0:44Speaker 1: got a great guest. We're gonna be diving into this
- 0:47Speaker 1: matchup coming up this Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles taking on
- 0:51Speaker 1: the Washington Commanders at the Link in the NFC Championship Game.
- 0:57Speaker 1: There were a lot of folks out there that thought
- 0:58Speaker 1: the Philadelphia Eagles would get to this point. Some folks didn't,
- 1:02Speaker 1: but I gotta tell you not too many folks thought
- 1:04Speaker 1: the Washington Commanders at the beginning of this season. We
- 1:06Speaker 1: get to this point. What a successful season. The Commanders
- 1:10Speaker 1: have had a powerhouse now in the NFC East, along
- 1:14Speaker 1: with the Philadelphia Eagles. It's gonna be an interesting matchup.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I think it's gonna be a fantastic game in many
- 1:20Speaker 1: different ways. We're gonna be getting into the matchup. So
- 1:22Speaker 1: let's get right to it. Joining us this week to
- 1:25Speaker 1: get into this NFC Championship game matchup. He is from
- 1:29Speaker 1: Rigos Rag, great fan sided site that covers the Washington Commanders,
- 1:34Speaker 1: and you can find him on the Twitter slash x
- 1:36Speaker 1: at Seth Jones FFB. We've got Seth Jones contributor over there. Buddy.
- 1:41Speaker 1: How you doing, my man.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I'm doing good. What's going on everybody?
- 1:45Speaker 1: Hey, it's great to have you back on the pod.
- 1:48Speaker 1: You made your first appearance when we were talking about
- 1:51Speaker 1: one of the Eagles Commander's games during the regular season,
- 1:54Speaker 1: and I gotta say it's I'm actually not surprised the
- 1:58Speaker 1: Commanders have actually gotten to this point before the season started,
- 2:02Speaker 1: bringing in the coaching staff that the Commanders brought in,
- 2:05Speaker 1: the fact that they drafted Jaden Daniels. I actually predicted
- 2:08Speaker 1: that the Washington Commanders were going to be a wild
- 2:10Speaker 1: card team because of the overhaul not just of the team,
- 2:13Speaker 1: but the organization and the cultural organization of you know what,
- 2:17Speaker 1: we've just been seeing over the past couple seasons here.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I mean, are you surprised at this point, seth with
- 2:23Speaker 1: where this team is currently at.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Well, I'll tell you this.
- 2:27Speaker 3: I predicted I predicted seven wins before the season started,
- 2:30Speaker 3: and my whole life. I'm twenty one years old, so
- 2:32Speaker 3: my whole life. This is the first year we've ever
- 2:35Speaker 3: had like true hope since like RG three.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Yep.
- 2:38Speaker 3: So I'm extremely surprised. I'm more of a pessimistic fan
- 2:41Speaker 3: because of that.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I think a lot of I think a lot of
- 2:43Speaker 1: I think a lot of sports fans, diehard sports fans,
- 2:46Speaker 1: are very pessimistic about their own teams.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Yeah, to be honest with you, Yes, So I am
- 2:50Speaker 3: extremely surprised. Whether we win or lose this weekend, I'm
- 2:54Speaker 3: counting the season as a complete win.
- 2:55Speaker 1: It's like gravy, you know what I mean. It's like
- 2:58Speaker 1: gravy for this season. And I remember if in the
- 3:00Speaker 1: same way years ago, and I know it's not football
- 3:02Speaker 1: but baseball with the Philadelphia Phillies, who we certainly cover
- 3:04Speaker 1: here at the Philadelphia Sports Table podcast show, and when
- 3:06Speaker 1: the Phillies actually got to you know, the World Series,
- 3:10Speaker 1: when they got to the the the NLCS. You know,
- 3:12Speaker 1: we were like, man, this is gravy. We had no
- 3:13Speaker 1: idea this was gonna happen. I would imagine a lot
- 3:16Speaker 1: of Commanders fans thinking the same thing for their team too.
- 3:19Speaker 1: But let's dive into what we may see this week,
- 3:22Speaker 1: but also, you know, reflect on this past week as well,
- 3:24Speaker 1: because the Commanders really took it to the Lions in
- 3:27Speaker 1: the divisional matchup. Frankly, I was a bit surprised the
- 3:31Speaker 1: Lions didn't really have an answer at all for the
- 3:34Speaker 1: Commander's offense. So to get the discussion started here, seth,
- 3:38Speaker 1: I'm wondering first here. You know, we talked about the
- 3:41Speaker 1: team surprising you this year, but also, how have you
- 3:44Speaker 1: seen this Commander's offense grow over the course of this season?
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah, so.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Starting week one with the Bucks, you know Jane daniels
- 3:56Speaker 3: first game. Yeah, I was at that game and you
- 4:00Speaker 3: could see that.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I expected it from his first game.
- 4:04Speaker 3: He didn't know how to really properly go through his
- 4:07Speaker 3: progressions first, right, and then he would take off and run.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Since then, week after week after week, it's been so
- 4:13Speaker 3: much better going through progressions and uh, only running when
- 4:17Speaker 3: he needs to. He's been a lot smarter about getting
- 4:21Speaker 3: out of bounds, not taking those big hits, big shots.
- 4:24Speaker 3: And this offense is just such a poised offense now
- 4:27Speaker 3: with Jade and Daniels, and it's been getting more and
- 4:29Speaker 3: more poised every single week to the point where I'm
- 4:32Speaker 3: fully confident in the offense. I can no matter what happens.
- 4:35Speaker 3: You know, I used to watch a deep ball and
- 4:37Speaker 3: be scared for gonna be intersection. Now if I see
- 4:39Speaker 3: Jane Daniels on Cork a deep shot, I'm like, all right,
- 4:42Speaker 3: that's most likely a deep concletion to Terry or Dammy Brown.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Now he's broken out.
- 4:47Speaker 3: So yeah, yeah, this offense has not only unlocked players
- 4:50Speaker 3: like D'ami Brown, but it's just, uh, it's it's something
- 4:54Speaker 3: I'm fully confident in, which is something I don't know
- 4:56Speaker 3: if I've ever been able to say.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I'm really glad you mentioned Diami Brown on aside from
- 5:01Speaker 1: Jayden Daniels too, because Jaden Daniels, of course, he is
- 5:03Speaker 1: the focal point of this offense here. And I think
- 5:06Speaker 1: it's also important that you know, look, I'm not as
- 5:10Speaker 1: an Eagles fan, you know, I'm trying to be objective
- 5:13Speaker 1: on our opposition territory podcast here, But you have talent
- 5:16Speaker 1: like zach Ertz. Sure he isn't the zach Ertz maybe
- 5:19Speaker 1: of five or six years ago, but he has been
- 5:22Speaker 1: an incredible contributor to the offense. Terry McLaurin as well,
- 5:27Speaker 1: excuse me, has been an incredible contributor to this offense.
- 5:30Speaker 1: It all seems to be coming together really well. But
- 5:35Speaker 1: sticking with this offense, talking more, even about Jayden Daniels,
- 5:39Speaker 1: He's not He's not the most dominant quarterback in the league.
- 5:43Speaker 1: And I mean the same can be said as we're
- 5:44Speaker 1: heading into this matchup for Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. Both
- 5:48Speaker 1: have had a struggles, challenges, great moments as well this season.
- 5:54Speaker 1: But I think what's important for folks to realize is
- 5:57Speaker 1: we're heading into this game seth. Both of these quarterbacks
- 6:01Speaker 1: have intangibles that help their respective offenses during the course
- 6:05Speaker 1: of any game. Sure, there can be setbacks from time
- 6:08Speaker 1: to time, sometimes maybe not the best decision making, but
- 6:12Speaker 1: at the end of the day, those intangibles help their
- 6:16Speaker 1: teams win. They help their offenses. So I'm wondering, can
- 6:19Speaker 1: you talk about the intangibles that you have seen from
- 6:22Speaker 1: Jaden Daniels this season and as of late, that really
- 6:25Speaker 1: gives you hope that they could possibly get to the
- 6:28Speaker 1: super Bowl based on those intangibles.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:31Speaker 3: So, I'll say the biggest intangible Jadan Daniels has in
- 6:34Speaker 3: this is something no coach can teach, is just the
- 6:36Speaker 3: ability to win that clutch change that he has. I
- 6:40Speaker 3: think it's been six games now this season that he's
- 6:44Speaker 3: won in the last thirty seconds or in overtime, and
- 6:48Speaker 3: you just can't teach that. The ability to do that
- 6:51Speaker 3: week after week is kind of unheard of from a rookie. Yeah,
- 6:55Speaker 3: so that's the biggest intangible for me. Also, obviously, his
- 6:59Speaker 3: rushing ability is uh, he's one of he's already one
- 7:03Speaker 3: of the best rushing quarterbacks in the league. Behind I
- 7:06Speaker 3: wouldn't there to say he's exactly Lamar Jackson yet, but
- 7:11Speaker 3: he if there's no one open, he's able to to scramble.
- 7:16Speaker 3: As soon as he scrambles out of the pocket, I know,
- 7:19Speaker 3: all right, he's either going to pick up a few
- 7:20Speaker 3: yards here, or he's gonna uncork a ball in the
- 7:24Speaker 3: run to somebody.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:25Speaker 3: So it's it's that confidence with the running and also
- 7:29Speaker 3: his his deep ball is one of the prettiest deep
- 7:32Speaker 3: balls I've seen from any quarterback this season. So I'd
- 7:35Speaker 3: say those those three traits right there is what is
- 7:39Speaker 3: what gives me confidence that we can win this game
- 7:42Speaker 3: and make it to the Super Bowl.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Possibly it is.
- 7:44Speaker 1: It's going to be interesting to see how these offenses
- 7:47Speaker 1: match up in terms of execution, because at the end
- 7:50Speaker 1: of the day, I think this game is going to
- 7:52Speaker 1: come down to turnovers, and I think it's also going
- 7:54Speaker 1: to come down to which offense really is executing at
- 7:58Speaker 1: the highest level for sure or But look, I mean,
- 8:01Speaker 1: like I mentioned before, you know, there have been ups
- 8:03Speaker 1: and downs with this Commander's team for sure throughout this season.
- 8:07Speaker 1: The Commanders, they're not a perfect team. Neither are the
- 8:09Speaker 1: Philadelphia Eagles. We've been talking about it a lot on
- 8:12Speaker 1: the on the podcast here about you know how in
- 8:15Speaker 1: certain ways the Eagles are not a perfect team. No
- 8:18Speaker 1: team is in the NFL. But I'm wondering, set, like,
- 8:21Speaker 1: where on the Commander's offense do you have the biggest
- 8:24Speaker 1: concern heading into this matchup when you're going against the
- 8:27Speaker 1: Philadelphia Eagles defense that's you know, basically number one in
- 8:31Speaker 1: the league. They're at home against the at the link,
- 8:34Speaker 1: you know against you know the Philadelphia Eagles fan base too.
- 8:38Speaker 1: So where where Where's the biggest concern on the Commander's
- 8:42Speaker 1: offense that you have heading into this NFC Championship game matchup?
- 8:46Speaker 3: Yeah, my biggest concern is definitely the offensive line. You
- 8:49Speaker 3: guys have probably the best defensive line in the league,
- 8:52Speaker 3: and we lost our I would say, are only good
- 8:55Speaker 3: offensive linemen this past week with Sam Cosmi going now
- 8:59Speaker 3: with that torny, so as soon as he went down,
- 9:02Speaker 3: I was pretty nervous whether we won or lost that game.
- 9:05Speaker 3: So yeah, definitely, definitely the offensive line is going to
- 9:08Speaker 3: be an issue. We saw in the Tampa Tampa Bay
- 9:13Speaker 3: Division or wild card game. We couldn't get the wrong
- 9:16Speaker 3: game going, and if you watch the film, there was
- 9:18Speaker 3: a lot because of the run blocking was not doing
- 9:21Speaker 3: good at all and losing Sam Cosme and then going
- 9:24Speaker 3: to help that at all.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I really I'm glad you actually brought up the
- 9:28Speaker 1: run some of the blocking, especially the run blocking, because
- 9:32Speaker 1: when I look at this game, I really think the
- 9:34Speaker 1: Commanders are gonna need some sort of balance in terms
- 9:37Speaker 1: of the passing game and the run block game. I'm
- 9:40Speaker 1: not too sure how Brian Robinson is going to do
- 9:43Speaker 1: this week, especially when you have a Jalen Carter doing
- 9:47Speaker 1: what he has been doing recently, or do you have
- 9:49Speaker 1: concerns about the run game from an offensive perspective.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Yeah, that's my biggest concern is that we're not gonna
- 9:54Speaker 3: be able to run the ball at all and we're
- 9:56Speaker 3: gonna have to lean completely on passing the football. Because
- 10:00Speaker 3: it was one thing for Brian Robbins to be able
- 10:02Speaker 3: to gash the Lions defense even with Sam Cosmy going down,
- 10:07Speaker 3: but he's not gonna be able to do the same
- 10:09Speaker 3: thing with the Eagles defensive lines.
- 10:11Speaker 2: So yeah, I'm pretty worried about that.
- 10:13Speaker 3: I think it's going to be a pass heavy game
- 10:15Speaker 3: plan for us because of that. So that's something And
- 10:18Speaker 3: you guys have a great secondary too, so it's gonna
- 10:20Speaker 3: be something you guys can definitely exploit.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Absolutely well. Let's move over to the defensive side of
- 10:25Speaker 1: the ball, the Commander's defensive secondary. In my opinion, they
- 10:30Speaker 1: need to keep aj Brown and Devonte Smith quiet for
- 10:34Speaker 1: them to have a chance to win in this game.
- 10:37Speaker 1: In my opinion, the majority of the defensive focus I
- 10:41Speaker 1: think is going to be on containing Saquon Barkley. But
- 10:45Speaker 1: if the Commander's secondary is also able to somehow take
- 10:48Speaker 1: aj Brown and DeVante Smith, who quite frankly haven't had
- 10:51Speaker 1: the most dominant games here in the playoffs. So it
- 10:54Speaker 1: seems like it possibly can be done, which is a
- 10:57Speaker 1: concern for me as an Eagles fan. What, in your
- 11:00Speaker 1: pinion set do the Commanders need to do defensively to
- 11:04Speaker 1: really help keep them in this game.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Yeah, so I was I was thinking about this the
- 11:08Speaker 3: other day and in my opinion, now I'm not a
- 11:11Speaker 3: defensese coordinator, but in my opinion, we have seen the
- 11:14Speaker 3: passing offense from you guys struggle in the playoffs, so
- 11:18Speaker 3: and I am actually confident in our secondary now. They
- 11:21Speaker 3: stepped up in a big way this last week. Marsha
- 11:24Speaker 3: and Lottimore really worried me after Mike Evans was going
- 11:27Speaker 3: going at him every single play in the wildcard round,
- 11:30Speaker 3: but he played great last week.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I'm a big fan of Mike Sanders.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Still, I hope that we sell out to stop Saquon
- 11:39Speaker 3: because he's He's my biggest worry and this can this
- 11:43Speaker 3: can definitely screw us.
- 11:44Speaker 2: But I want us to drey All to pass the
- 11:47Speaker 2: ball on.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Us and sell out to and sell it to stop
- 11:50Speaker 3: Saquon would be what I would do, because if we're
- 11:53Speaker 3: going to get beat, we need to get beat with
- 11:54Speaker 3: big plays. We can't get beat with Saquon getting ten
- 11:59Speaker 3: fifteen twenty years Ard runs uh snap after.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Snap after snap.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Yeah, because that's that's that's how that's how we kind
- 12:06Speaker 3: of got away with uh or y'all pushed away the
- 12:09Speaker 3: first time we played, y'all was we we kind of
- 12:12Speaker 3: stopped Saquon in the first half, but then we went
- 12:14Speaker 3: away from stopping Saquon and he he just kept on
- 12:17Speaker 3: gashing us play after play and y'all pulled away.
- 12:20Speaker 2: So that's that's what that's what.
- 12:22Speaker 3: I would do if either defensive coordinator uh, well, would
- 12:25Speaker 3: that plan work? I'm not really sure because your guys
- 12:27Speaker 3: passing offense is very good and can start hitting us
- 12:32Speaker 3: with deep shots after deep shot and AJ Brown with
- 12:35Speaker 3: his little uh short slant routes can.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Really hurt us. But so so we'll see what happens.
- 12:41Speaker 3: But I would kind of sell stop Saquon and then
- 12:44Speaker 3: as the passing offense is killing us, that just uh
- 12:47Speaker 3: through that. But I just don't want to get Saquon
- 12:49Speaker 3: going early.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it's interesting you mentioned that seth because part of
- 12:53Speaker 1: the concern I've had is everybody, every team that the
- 12:55Speaker 1: Eagles play, it's sake stop Saquon. Stop Saquon, Stop Saquon.
- 12:58Speaker 1: And there are moments where you think during the course
- 13:01Speaker 1: of the game, especially early, Wow, Saquon's only getting two
- 13:04Speaker 1: or three yards a carry. Here, Wow, he's only maybe
- 13:07Speaker 1: picking up four yards at the most. And then all
- 13:10Speaker 1: of a sudden, the offensive line does what they do
- 13:14Speaker 1: very well, opening up those gaps and he, like you mentioned,
- 13:18Speaker 1: he's going for thirty yards, he's going for forty yards,
- 13:20Speaker 1: he's going for a touchdown. We certainly saw that this
- 13:24Speaker 1: past week in the divisional round, where you know, in
- 13:27Speaker 1: that snow, Saquon was absolutely hitting those gaps. He knew
- 13:32Speaker 1: that he could hit because of the Eagles offensive lineman,
- 13:35Speaker 1: and even though he was only getting maybe two or
- 13:37Speaker 1: three yards at a clip every now and again, being
- 13:40Speaker 1: able to break one off those huge chunk plays. The
- 13:43Speaker 1: commanders are gonna have to stop it. They're gonna have
- 13:45Speaker 1: to stop it at some point. I don't know how
- 13:47Speaker 1: they actually consistently do that, Like I think that honestly,
- 13:52Speaker 1: there's five runs. I think maybe three or four of
- 13:54Speaker 1: them they stop them for maybe two or three yards,
- 13:57Speaker 1: but that last one man it could. It's gonna be
- 14:01Speaker 1: really interesting to see because because the Commanders have a
- 14:03Speaker 1: good defense. So let's get into some of the matchups
- 14:07Speaker 1: that you may be concerned with as we're heading into
- 14:10Speaker 1: this NFC Championship game. I'm sure he've been thinking about it.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Excuse me this week. What is the strongest part of
- 14:17Speaker 1: the Commander's defense that you think really can match up
- 14:20Speaker 1: well with and maybe even possibly overtake the Eagles offense.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:26Speaker 3: So, I'm a huge fan of our linebacking duo. Frankulu
- 14:30Speaker 3: is my favorite free agent acquisition this past offseason. So
- 14:36Speaker 3: we all know Jalen Hurts has rushing ability. I think
- 14:40Speaker 3: having frank Luluvu as a quarterback spy on Jalen Hurts
- 14:44Speaker 3: will kind of maybe not completely eliminate hurts rushing ability,
- 14:49Speaker 3: but it'll help definitely sustain those third downs where Jalen
- 14:54Speaker 3: Hurts doesn't see anyone open and he has a clear
- 14:57Speaker 3: lane to just rush of the first down. And I
- 14:59Speaker 3: see that time time after time in Eagles games that
- 15:01Speaker 3: I watched. So having Frankie Luvu and even Bobby Wagner
- 15:06Speaker 3: kind of contain the contained the rushing from Jalen Hurts.
- 15:09Speaker 3: I think can maybe slow down your offense a little bit.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Obviously it's not gonna there's too many weapons to completely
- 15:17Speaker 3: stop it, but yeah, at least slow it down because
- 15:20Speaker 3: because that kind of takes a moment and away from
- 15:22Speaker 3: the defense kind of drains them out.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Absolutely. Yeah. Again, folks, if you have not been over
- 15:28Speaker 1: to riggos Rag over at fan sided rigoswag dot com,
- 15:33Speaker 1: we are talking to Seth Jones, you can follow him
- 15:36Speaker 1: on the Twitter slash x at Seth Jones FFB. Great
- 15:41Speaker 1: great follow putting up some good content over there at
- 15:44Speaker 1: riggos Rag. And as we're moving along with a conversation
- 15:48Speaker 1: here and getting towards the end here, Seth, on the
- 15:51Speaker 1: flip side of what you were just talking about, I'm
- 15:54Speaker 1: wondering where the weakest part of the Commander's defense is
- 15:57Speaker 1: that you hope does not get exposed by the Eagles
- 16:01Speaker 1: offense this Sunday. Where's the weakest part of the Commander's
- 16:04Speaker 1: defense that may have you a little concerned.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Yeah, it's definitely the defensive line as a whole, whether
- 16:12Speaker 3: it'd be the pass rush or the interior.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Jonathan Allen seems to be a shell of himself.
- 16:18Speaker 3: I was really hoping he would step up in these playoffs,
- 16:21Speaker 3: and he did play a little bit of a better
- 16:23Speaker 3: game last week, but yeah, he still needs to step
- 16:25Speaker 3: up in a big way. Deron payned to step up.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Johnny Noon is young. I'm hoping he can kind of
- 16:31Speaker 3: take another step forward. And then our pass rush is
- 16:34Speaker 3: just not exactly the best pass rush in the league.
- 16:38Speaker 3: You know, we're kind of playing with house of money
- 16:40Speaker 3: with the pass rush. We got one year deal. Guys
- 16:43Speaker 3: like Dante Fowler and Cleveland Farrell is our starters, so
- 16:47Speaker 3: it's kind of hard to ask for a lot from them.
- 16:49Speaker 3: But yeah, we're definitely gonna need the pass rush to
- 16:51Speaker 3: step up and put pressure on Hurts because if you
- 16:54Speaker 3: don't put pressure on Hurts, he's just gonna stay in
- 16:57Speaker 3: that pocket and wait for an open man to go,
- 16:59Speaker 3: and open man goes, he's gonna step out and run
- 17:02Speaker 3: for a first round. So definitely a defensive line.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Yeah, defensive line for sure. I gotta tell you, man,
- 17:08Speaker 1: it's gonna be a great, great game. I think I
- 17:10Speaker 1: think it's gonna be really interesting. But at the end
- 17:12Speaker 1: of the day, regardless of which NFC team gets to
- 17:16Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. I don't know about you, Seth, but
- 17:19Speaker 1: I think we are in agreement that anybody but Kansas
- 17:23Speaker 1: City to win the Super Bowl is probably the goal
- 17:26Speaker 1: here at this.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Point, I agree agreement.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Okay, great, great. I'm honestly to the point where, look,
- 17:33Speaker 1: Andy Reid came from Philadelphia and he was here for
- 17:37Speaker 1: so long. I grew up with him being the coach
- 17:40Speaker 1: and him taking the Eagles to four NFC Championship games
- 17:43Speaker 1: during his tenure. But I've always wanted to see Andy
- 17:45Speaker 1: Reid do well. I'm at a point where I don't
- 17:47Speaker 1: care anymore. I do not want to see Andy Reid
- 17:50Speaker 1: do well anymore. I'm tired of his dumb State Farm commercial.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I'm tired of seeing them in the Super Bowl year
- 17:55Speaker 1: after year. I am tired of Patrick Mahomes. I'm tired
- 17:59Speaker 1: of the chief's narrative. I would imagine you are as well,
- 18:02Speaker 1: my friend.
- 18:03Speaker 2: I'm completely in an agreeance there.
- 18:05Speaker 3: I mean, you know, it's bad when even players are
- 18:07Speaker 3: coming out yes and interviews and saying, uh, you know,
- 18:11Speaker 3: I'm not gonna say it for Bradom, but yes, they
- 18:14Speaker 3: they they they're saying they they know it's there and
- 18:17Speaker 3: the Texans players after their game. I mean, there's some
- 18:21Speaker 3: crappy calls in that game. I'm a little tired of
- 18:24Speaker 3: it too. I just yeah, I know you all are
- 18:26Speaker 3: division rivals, but I'm fully ruined for you guys if
- 18:30Speaker 3: you all make it.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Absolutely, Nas City isn't there.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Absolutely, It's amazing how the Eagles fan base and the
- 18:35Speaker 1: Commander's fan base could potentially come together when we look
- 18:39Speaker 1: at the Super Bowl prospects.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Again, folks, Seth Jones from rigosreag dot Com over it
- 18:46Speaker 1: Fans Sided, It was great talking to you, Seth. Thanks
- 18:49Speaker 1: so much for jumping on our Opposition Territory pod here
- 18:52Speaker 1: and I'd love to talk to you at some point
- 18:53Speaker 1: down the road. My friend, of course, just let me
- 18:56Speaker 1: know it was great talking to Seth. And really this
- 18:59Speaker 1: matchup is going to be, I think a phenomenal one
- 19:02Speaker 1: for both Commanders fans and Eagles fans to watch this week.
- 19:05Speaker 1: But in terms of the Eagles and something that we
- 19:08Speaker 1: need to keep in mind as we are moving forward,
- 19:10Speaker 1: and we're gonna be getting into some more content surrounding
- 19:13Speaker 1: this on our podcast platform this week as we head
- 19:15Speaker 1: into this matchup. Yes, the Eagles haven't turned the ball
- 19:19Speaker 1: over yet in the playoffs, but I think we can
- 19:23Speaker 1: all acknowledge that the passing game in Philly with Jalen
- 19:26Speaker 1: Hurts and just where they are at right now has
- 19:29Speaker 1: been kind of a mess. You know, Hurts is holding
- 19:32Speaker 1: onto the ball for an eternity, it seems in the pocket,
- 19:36Speaker 1: taking way too many sacks. He's not letting it rip
- 19:39Speaker 1: to receivers that are opened down the field. That we
- 19:41Speaker 1: talked about it on the postgame show this past week,
- 19:45Speaker 1: and it will be on the offensive staff Kellen Moore,
- 19:48Speaker 1: Nick Sirianni to figure out how to get Hurts back
- 19:51Speaker 1: into some kind of rhythm, and it's going to be
- 19:53Speaker 1: on Jalen Hurts as well to start playing better in
- 19:57Speaker 1: the passing game. And also can they get Aj Brown going?
- 20:01Speaker 1: I really do think Aj Brown, and it seems bizarre
- 20:03Speaker 1: one of the best wide receivers in the league, saying
- 20:06Speaker 1: that he could be the X factor in this game.
- 20:09Speaker 1: He didn't have any drops during the course of the
- 20:11Speaker 1: regular season, but he had two against the Rams. Can
- 20:15Speaker 1: he bounce back absolutely again? He's one of the top
- 20:18Speaker 1: wide receivers and premiere wide receivers in the NFL. I
- 20:22Speaker 1: think he's gonna get back to form two drops doubt doubtful.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I'm thinking that we are gonna see that from AJ
- 20:28Speaker 1: Brown again this coming week against that against that Washington Secondary,
- 20:34Speaker 1: So gonna be interesting matchups for sure. We've got more
- 20:37Speaker 1: Eagles Commanders NFC Championship game talk coming to you this
- 20:41Speaker 1: week on a regular show that's gonna be dropping Thursday morning.
- 20:45Speaker 1: That's gonna do it for us here on Opposition Territory.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Take care, everybody, and hope you enjoyed the content. Share
- 20:52Speaker 1: our podcast with those Philadelphia Eagles fans, Philadelphia sports fans
- 20:57Speaker 1: in general. Let your family and friends know about us.
- 21:01Speaker 1: So that being said, folks, take care and we'll catch
- 21:03Speaker 1: you next time.
