- 0:35Speaker 2: is here. Poo is here. Candace, what's up?
- 0:37Speaker 5: Hey, I got a haircut, guys.
- 0:38Speaker 2: I see that.
- 0:39Speaker 5: I was just going to tell you guys before anyone,
- 0:41Speaker 5: you know, doesn't mention it and then we go the
- 0:43Speaker 5: whole show and not talk about how I got a haircut.
- 0:45Speaker 5: It's not that noticeable. Let's not get excited.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Well, no, but I did notice, actually. I didn't notice first.
- 0:51Speaker 5: Okay.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Because somebody else noticed first.
- 0:53Speaker 4: Right.
- 0:53Speaker 5: Another woman in the building, of course.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Yes, of course. But I did notice, and then I
- 0:57Speaker 2: was like, oh, and it looks all done up, too. Like,
- 1:00Speaker 2: you brushed it different.
- 1:02Speaker 5: Yeah, well, my hair girl moved to Austin, so I
- 1:04Speaker 5: had to just randomly, like, go get a haircut yesterday,
- 1:07Speaker 5: you know? And it's like, kind of, you know, is
- 1:09Speaker 5: this going to go well?
- 1:09Speaker 2: Great clips?
- 1:10Speaker 4: No.
- 1:11Speaker 2: It's super good.
- 1:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:13Speaker 5: But I just get a trim every time. So it's like,
- 1:15Speaker 5: how could they mess it up? They really can't. So
- 1:17Speaker 5: I don't know why there's pressure on me when I
- 1:19Speaker 5: get haircuts. But this guy kept like joking and like,
- 1:21Speaker 5: I'm just going to buzz it all off. And I
- 1:23Speaker 5: was like, what?
- 1:24Speaker 2: You're like, OK, stop.
- 1:25Speaker 5: Yeah, we're good.
- 1:25Speaker 2: You know, what's funny is I've known you for decades. Yeah.
- 1:28Speaker 2: And I don't think I've ever seen you dye your hair.
- 1:31Speaker 2: No highlights.
- 1:32Speaker 5: The girl that was washing my hair actually said, do
- 1:35Speaker 5: you ever dye your hair? Do you dye your hair?
- 1:37Speaker 5: And I was like, no. And she was like, you
- 1:38Speaker 5: have such a beautiful, like natural Brown color. And I
- 1:41Speaker 5: was like, thanks. Do you see any grays in there?
- 1:43Speaker 5: And she was like, no, I don't see any. And
- 1:44Speaker 5: I was like, nice. Okay.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Must be nice.
- 1:48Speaker 5: She had to be like 19 years old, 20 years old.
- 1:50Speaker 5: So I don't know how old she thought I was.
- 1:52Speaker 2: I'll tell you this much right now is I started
- 1:55Speaker 2: shaving a lot more and I'll tell you why, because
- 1:57Speaker 2: there's more salt than pepper. Yeah, me too.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Right.
- 2:01Speaker 2: In my 5 o'clock shadow. Yeah, it's okay.
- 2:04Speaker 5: You guys rock the salt and pepper.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Is it?
- 2:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Okay, well.
- 2:08Speaker 5: You got to embrace it. I mean, I have a
- 2:10Speaker 5: few grays, but I try to pluck them out.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Oh, you do?
- 2:12Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I know. Well, maybe I'll start doing that. Actually,
- 2:15Speaker 2: that would be the most painful process ever.
- 2:16Speaker 5: That'd take a while, right?
- 2:18Speaker 2: For me, but it's all good. Yeah, it's okay. It's
- 2:19Speaker 2: all right. Producer Pooh, speaking of grays, he's got some. Yeah,
- 2:22Speaker 2: a few. Actually, I think it's easier to pick out
- 2:24Speaker 2: the brown hair.
- 2:26Speaker 6: Just go all gray yeah what's up y'all i'm trying
- 2:29Speaker 6: to make my aunt's house like uh what do you
- 2:30Speaker 6: call it an autonomous you know where you can do
- 2:33Speaker 6: everything with your phone yeah it's called a smart home
- 2:37Speaker 6: a smart home yeah that's what i meant sorry anyway
- 2:40Speaker 6: i went to home depot and i took my uncle
- 2:42Speaker 6: dick yesterday and i'm talking to this representative because i'm
- 2:46Speaker 6: trying to buy like google bulbs because i gave her
- 2:49Speaker 6: my old google home or whatever nice Uncle Dick gets
- 2:52Speaker 6: in an argument with this dude talking about, hey, isn't
- 2:55Speaker 6: all this connected with them flocked cameras? I mean, probably.
- 3:02Speaker 6: And I'm like, Uncle Dick, you got to come to
- 3:04Speaker 6: the future, man. You know, he's 76.
- 3:07Speaker 2: You know it's bad when Pooh's telling somebody about technology.
- 3:10Speaker 5: With the program?
- 3:11Speaker 2: Because he's the worst when it comes to technology.
- 3:14Speaker 6: Yeah, I am, but I was trying to tell her,
- 3:16Speaker 6: I was like, hey, Terry, you can control everything with
- 3:17Speaker 6: your phone, turn your lights on.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Why do they need that? They don't need that.
- 3:19Speaker 5: I hate that. We have that. I hate smart home stuff.
- 3:22Speaker 2: You do? Why?
- 3:23Speaker 5: Other than the cameras, because one time Eric was out
- 3:26Speaker 5: of town, my husband, and I'm like, I can't even
- 3:28Speaker 5: turn on the lamp. I had to text him. He
- 3:32Speaker 5: was working and I was like, I can't turn on
- 3:34Speaker 5: the lamp without texting somebody. I'm just sitting here in
- 3:36Speaker 5: the dark.
- 3:37Speaker 2: You just sat in the dark?
- 3:38Speaker 4: Yes.
- 3:38Speaker 2: What about the switch on the lamp?
- 3:40Speaker 5: It wouldn't work because you have to have it on
- 3:41Speaker 5: a certain switch for him to be able to do
- 3:43Speaker 5: it on his phone. And it wasn't on that.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I have it where you can do both. I mean,
- 3:47Speaker 2: it can work and then you can also do it
- 3:48Speaker 2: on your phone. Yeah.
- 3:49Speaker 5: Well, ours wouldn't let me.
- 3:51Speaker 2: So Uncle Dick and your aunt has now a smart home? Yeah.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Almost.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Almost.
- 3:56Speaker 6: I bought like six bulbs, changed them out on all
- 3:59Speaker 6: the lamps, downloaded the app for her. So it's going
- 4:02Speaker 6: to be a clean house pretty soon. You used their
- 4:05Speaker 6: credit card, though, I'm assuming.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Oh, to buy the lamps?
- 4:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Yeah, of course. Oh, okay. Yeah. No, she got a
- 4:11Speaker 2: Home Depot card. I was like, yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah,
- 4:15Speaker 2: ain't Terry got good credit. Well, I'm just thinking to myself, like,
- 4:18Speaker 2: you're just making it sound like you're buying it. Oh, no, uh-uh, uh-uh.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I purchased it with their credit card, but I installed it.
- 4:23Speaker 5: You were supervising.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Who's new business? I'll make your home dumb.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:28Speaker 2: You want a dumb house? I got you. I'll convert it.
- 4:31Speaker 5: Yeah, I want a.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Dumb house, too. The new Mix 102.9.
- 4:36Speaker 3: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 4:38Speaker 3: Kid in the morning.
- 4:39Speaker 4: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 4:41Speaker 2: We start giving away money at 840 today. Get ready
- 4:45Speaker 2: for that with the cash cow. Candace Lopez, what is
- 4:47Speaker 2: going on?
- 4:48Speaker 5: Well, guys, today's the day. The weather is changing warm today.
- 4:51Speaker 5: We're going to get up to the low 90s, but
- 4:52Speaker 5: then that strong cold front gets here around sunset. You'll
- 4:55Speaker 5: probably notice the winds picking up. Scattered showers are possible tonight.
- 4:59Speaker 5: Then we'll dry out into Friday morning. The high tomorrow,
- 5:03Speaker 5: barely 70. Hit it.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:06Speaker 5: Dude, 68 on Saturday. Oh, man, I love that. That
- 5:09Speaker 5: means lows in the mid-40s.
- 5:11Speaker 2: I saw the low was 48, and I said, you
- 5:13Speaker 2: know what? I don't know if I'm ready for that.
- 5:16Speaker 5: We want it to.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Be like perfect, but you know what? That's good. That's good.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Fall weather.
- 5:20Speaker 4: It is. Yeah.
- 5:20Speaker 5: We have two baseball games on Saturday and then, you know,
- 5:23Speaker 5: we're going to be at Thrillvania on Saturday night. So
- 5:25Speaker 5: it's going to feel festive and like it should.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Okay. That is perfect.
- 5:30Speaker 5: It is perfect.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Haunted house weather. Yep. Right there. So that's going to
- 5:33Speaker 2: be fun. OK, what else going on?
- 5:35Speaker 5: Netflix is laying off around a thousand employees. So this
- 5:38Speaker 5: is about six percent of their global workforce. It's going
- 5:41Speaker 5: to be the largest round of job cuts there since 2022.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Most of these jobs are in product tech, legal and H.R.
- 5:48Speaker 5: Netflix does have more subscribers than any streamer, but they're
- 5:52Speaker 5: saying engagement and revenue are both slowing down. Even YouTube
- 5:55Speaker 5: passed Netflix an average daily viewing in 20 international markets
- 5:59Speaker 5: last year, which is why you see them try to
- 6:01Speaker 5: do live sports and games and focus on, you know,
- 6:04Speaker 5: these short form, you know, content creator like videos, which.
- 6:08Speaker 2: I can't stand.
- 6:09Speaker 5: I know on Netflix.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I get it. I get, they got
- 6:12Speaker 2: to do what they got to do, but I just
- 6:13Speaker 2: get so confused on how to watch like a football game, right?
- 6:16Speaker 2: I'm like, is it on Amazon prime? Is it on Hulu?
- 6:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Is it on Netflix? My space? What is going on?
- 6:22Speaker 2: Where do I find it? How do I do it?
- 6:23Speaker 2: Do I have to buy something?
- 6:25Speaker 1: Right.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Because chances are I do. I mean, my Hulu thing
- 6:28Speaker 2: is up to 100 bucks a month.
- 6:29Speaker 5: Yeah, it's exhausting.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I mean, watch TV and I'm paying it. The other
- 6:32Speaker 2: day I'm like, I have to cancel it. But guess what?
- 6:35Speaker 2: If I need to watch a football game.
- 6:36Speaker 5: I know.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Then that's the only thing I watch on TV. Then
- 6:39Speaker 2: I need it.
- 6:40Speaker 5: Yeah, I know. It's tough. It's tough. Real quick, guys.
- 6:43Speaker 5: TSA is reminding Halloween travelers you cannot bring costume weapons
- 6:47Speaker 5: through security. I didn't realize a lot of people dress
- 6:50Speaker 5: up to fly on Halloween.
- 6:52Speaker 2: I've never seen that in my life.
- 6:53Speaker 5: Yeah, apparently it's a thing, but they're saying, you know,
- 6:55Speaker 5: you can wear a costume within reason, but anything that
- 6:58Speaker 5: looks like an explosive and a carry-on or checked bag
- 7:01Speaker 5: could get thrown out by TSA. But people travel with
- 7:03Speaker 5: swords and brooms and pitchforks.
- 7:05Speaker 2: For real?
- 7:06Speaker 4: Yes.
- 7:06Speaker 2: You can get through security with a pitchfork?
- 7:08Speaker 5: No, you can't.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Okay, good.
- 7:09Speaker 5: Yeah, you could put it in your carry-on, but there's
- 7:12Speaker 5: a chance that they'll take it out and say that
- 7:14Speaker 5: you can't travel with it. But carry-on is the best
- 7:16Speaker 5: way to go. They say most of your Halloween makeup
- 7:19Speaker 5: is allowed. So is candy. Even pumpkins. Carved jack-o'-lanterns are
- 7:23Speaker 5: allowed in carry-on bags.
- 7:24Speaker 2: You know what? Stop it. If I see you come
- 7:26Speaker 2: on with a carved pumpkin, right?
- 7:28Speaker 4: I know.
- 7:28Speaker 5: Who's traveling with that?
- 7:30Speaker 2: Who's traveling dressed up?
- 7:32Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 7:32Speaker 5: I don't know. It sounds kind of fun.
- 7:34Speaker 2: I mean, if the kids are doing it cool, but like,
- 7:36Speaker 2: you know.
- 7:36Speaker 5: On Halloween day. Like, if we're already traveling this early
- 7:39Speaker 5: in a costume.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Yes.
- 7:40Speaker 5: What are we doing?
- 7:41Speaker 2: No, let's not do that. I liked when people used
- 7:43Speaker 2: to dress up.
- 7:44Speaker 5: Like nice.
- 7:45Speaker 2: To travel. Yeah.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:47Speaker 2: It was a big deal. Don't get me wrong. I
- 7:48Speaker 2: don't want to do that.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Right.
- 7:50Speaker 2: No. But I thought, what a classy time.
- 7:52Speaker 5: Right.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:53Speaker 5: Classy times. We should, maybe some flights should be dress
- 7:56Speaker 5: up classy only if you.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Just want the vibe.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:58Speaker 2: You want the vibe. But that was also when they
- 7:59Speaker 2: used to let you like, you know, I wasn't around.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I think Pooh was.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Where you let's say you roam the cabin and have
- 8:05Speaker 2: a cocktail.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:06Speaker 2: In the back of like a bar.
- 8:08Speaker 5: Right. You know, I think there are some like big, fancy,
- 8:10Speaker 5: expensive planes with bars like that in the back.
- 8:12Speaker 2: They also used to let people smoke on airplanes.
- 8:14Speaker 5: So weird.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Can you even imagine sitting in a Red Bull can
- 8:19Speaker 2: with wings and people are smoking?
- 8:21Speaker 4: Right.
- 8:22Speaker 5: Drinking martinis.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Now that sounds awesome.
- 8:24Speaker 5: Yeah, for sure.
- 8:26Speaker 2: For sure.
- 8:27Speaker 5: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas top stories.
- 8:30Speaker 2: We got a dirty little secret coming up at 730.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Get ready for that. Plus 840. We start giving away cash.
- 8:35Speaker 2: You're shot at a thousand dollars. It's Mix 102.9, Ability Kid,
- 8:39Speaker 2: Candice Lopez, Producer Poo is here. We got real or
- 8:42Speaker 2: fake news. Although, we got to smash the pumpkins first
- 8:45Speaker 2: because we're going to throwvania on Saturday, which I can't
- 8:47Speaker 2: believe it's already Thursday.
- 8:48Speaker 4: I know.
- 8:49Speaker 2: The weather's going to be perfect. You get to smash
- 8:51Speaker 2: some pumpkins. There's some prizes inside. I think we're like
- 8:54Speaker 2: throwing them off something high, too.
- 8:56Speaker 5: Sweet.
- 8:57Speaker 2: I know.
- 8:57Speaker 4: I love it.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Doesn't that sound fun?
- 8:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Although I'm, like, a little bit nervous, scared of heights, too,
- 9:02Speaker 2: at the same time.
- 9:03Speaker 5: Oh, that's true. I hope it's not that high.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Oh, boy.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Okay. Well, this is a real haunted house, then.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Through O'Vaney, if you want to go, who knows what's
- 9:11Speaker 2: going to be in these? There's a bunch of different prizes.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Hilary Duff tickets, gas cards, what else?
- 9:16Speaker 1: Jonas Brothers tickets?
- 9:17Speaker 2: Jonas Brothers tickets in some of these. Let's do it.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Who's this? This is Peyton. Peyton, what's up? Peyton, where
- 9:22Speaker 2: are you from?
- 9:23Speaker 7: I'm from Venus.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Well, guess what? You're calling number one. Congratulations!
- 9:26Speaker 4: Yes!
- 9:28Speaker 2: Wow. There you go. Thank you. Yeah, absolutely. You got
- 9:30Speaker 2: some passes. Go to Thrillvania. Plus, you can smash some
- 9:33Speaker 2: pumpkins with us. There's surprises in them. Who knows what
- 9:35Speaker 2: you win, but it'll be a good time. Are you
- 9:37Speaker 2: mad about anything, Peyton? Because you could let out some
- 9:38Speaker 2: aggression on these pumpkins. Payton. Oh, he broke.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Oh, no.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Stay right there, Payton. I think we lost him. He's
- 9:47Speaker 2: got that Venus cell phone service.
- 9:50Speaker 5: A little shaky.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Yeah. Where is, you know, I think I've been to
- 9:53Speaker 2: Venus once. Where is it?
- 9:54Speaker 5: It's like south on 67. Oh, when you're heading to Austin, right? Yeah,
- 9:59Speaker 5: like south of Cedar Hill.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Oh, is it?
- 10:01Speaker 5: Midlothian.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:03Speaker 5: Between Mansfield and Midlothian.
- 10:04Speaker 2: I know where it's at.
- 10:05Speaker 5: Down there.
- 10:05Speaker 2: I've been to Venus.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Okay.
- 10:07Speaker 2: What a place. Shout out to Venus. All right, let's
- 10:10Speaker 2: do some real or fake news. I'm going to give
- 10:12Speaker 2: you three headlines. You've got to tell me which one
- 10:13Speaker 2: is fake out of the three, and the news is
- 10:15Speaker 2: insane like us. So here we go. First headline. Someone's
- 10:20Speaker 2: throwing wieners at houses in a small Wyoming town.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Stop.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Someone's throwing wieners at houses in a small Wyoming town. Okay.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Headline number one. Headline number two. 49% of singles have
- 10:34Speaker 2: fallen for someone they didn't initially find attractive.
- 10:40Speaker 4: 49%?
- 10:40Speaker 2: 49% of singles have fallen for someone they didn't initially
- 10:45Speaker 2: find attractive. Headline number two. Headline number three. New survey
- 10:50Speaker 2: finds one in four Americans have pretended to be on
- 10:54Speaker 2: the phone to avoid someone they know and talking to them.
- 10:59Speaker 2: New survey finds one in four Americans have pretended to
- 11:02Speaker 2: be on the phone to avoid talking to someone they know.
- 11:06Speaker 2: All right. Three headlines right there. You got to tell
- 11:08Speaker 2: me which one is the fake story out of the three. Candace,
- 11:12Speaker 2: you get to go first. Or you can pass it
- 11:15Speaker 2: to Pooh. Whatever you want to do.
- 11:18Speaker 5: I think I'm going to go first today. Just lock
- 11:20Speaker 5: me in for that Wieners in Wyoming story. Oh!
- 11:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Coming out strong with the Wieners story.
- 11:25Speaker 4: Yep.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Are you sure?
- 11:26Speaker 8: Let's do it.
- 11:27Speaker 5: No, but lock me in anyways. All right.
- 11:28Speaker 2: It is locked in. There you go, Producer Pooh. Which
- 11:31Speaker 2: one do you want to lock in as the fake
- 11:33Speaker 2: story out of the three? Let's go with that second story.
- 11:37Speaker 2: I think that percentage is off. I think it's lower.
- 11:39Speaker 2: You think it's lower than that? Yeah. Lock me in.
- 11:42Speaker 5: All right.
- 11:42Speaker 2: You think that... 49. That's almost half, obviously. Yeah, I
- 11:45Speaker 2: think it's lower than that. You don't think.
- 11:47Speaker 5: It's that strong that people.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Initially don't find someone attractive, and then they grow on
- 11:51Speaker 2: them like a fungus. Yeah.
- 11:53Speaker 5: Right.
- 11:54Speaker 2: All right. Let's lock that in. It is locked in,
- 11:57Speaker 2: and the winner today is me.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Me.
- 12:09Speaker 2: The fake story was actually new survey finds one in
- 12:11Speaker 2: four Americans have pretended to be on the phone to
- 12:14Speaker 2: avoid talking to someone they know.
- 12:17Speaker 5: Is it four in four?
- 12:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Yeah. It should be higher. I don't know. I made
- 12:21Speaker 2: that up, but that's got to be three out of four.
- 12:24Speaker 5: For sure.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Who hasn't done that? By the way, Candace Lopez and I.
- 12:29Speaker 2: every single day walking out right we almost.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Do that yeah at least a couple times a week.
- 12:36Speaker 2: At least a couple times a week and it's not
- 12:38Speaker 2: even people that work here it's like just you know
- 12:39Speaker 2: some people we're like oh no and then i'll get
- 12:41Speaker 2: on the phone and i think i started.
- 12:43Speaker 5: It yeah for sure yeah you always tell them we're
- 12:45Speaker 5: on our way yeah oh yeah we're on our.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Way yeah i always get on my phone i'm like
- 12:50Speaker 2: oh yeah no we're walking out right now what hold
- 12:53Speaker 2: on okay well that's fine in the elevator Sure, we
- 12:55Speaker 2: can do that. Yeah, why would he say that? I
- 12:59Speaker 2: just come up with a whole conversation.
- 13:02Speaker 5: Drama on the phone.
- 13:02Speaker 2: I've actually done that a lot. And then your phone
- 13:04Speaker 2: rings and you're like, uh, oops. Oh, you must have
- 13:06Speaker 2: broken up.
- 13:07Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 13:07Speaker 2: I didn't know that you dropped.
- 13:09Speaker 5: Right.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Yeah, okay. All right, the real stories. Which one do
- 13:12Speaker 2: you want first? You want the.
- 13:14Speaker 5: You want... You mean the wiener story?
- 13:16Speaker 2: Save that. All right, wiener story. Someone's throwing wieners at
- 13:22Speaker 2: houses in a small Wyoming town... Yeah, it's happening in Newcastle, Wyoming,
- 13:27Speaker 2: leaving residents with an unusual mess. Jan Elliott was resting
- 13:31Speaker 2: on her couch on October 11th when somebody or something
- 13:34Speaker 2: smacked her window right above her head, hard enough to
- 13:38Speaker 2: shake the glass. Her family looked outside and eventually found
- 13:40Speaker 2: a hot dog in the window well. No. Jan says
- 13:45Speaker 2: she told a police dispatcher that her and some other
- 13:47Speaker 2: homes had been targeted. Somebody's throwing wieners at my house.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Neighbors soon began joking online about these mystery throwers, with
- 13:56Speaker 2: one asking for ketchup and mustard if it reached his house.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Others worried the hot dogs could actually harm pets. No,
- 14:02Speaker 2: it's not going to harm a pet. They're going to
- 14:04Speaker 2: eat it. They're going to love it. Best day ever.
- 14:07Speaker 5: And then get sick, because who knows where that hot
- 14:09Speaker 5: dog's been.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Oh, you know what? Dogs can take a random wiener.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Jan found an empty package outside of her house the
- 14:17Speaker 2: morning after, after the wiener attack. But they still cannot
- 14:21Speaker 2: find out who's throwing wieners.
- 14:23Speaker 5: Some kids, I'm sure. Some high schoolers.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Some little glizzy gremlin out here. Now, this other story, 49%
- 14:30Speaker 2: of singles have fallen for someone they didn't initially find attractive,
- 14:35Speaker 2: is interesting to me because, I mean, I can kind
- 14:38Speaker 2: of see it, but the number did seem kind of
- 14:39Speaker 2: high to me, too. Yeah. They say the number has
- 14:41Speaker 2: dramatically increased in recent years. So in 2010, it was
- 14:45Speaker 2: like in the 20s. So they're like, only 20% of
- 14:50Speaker 2: people have done this. Now they're saying almost half. Wow.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Didn't have that instant spark that everyone looks for, but
- 14:57Speaker 2: they just kept dating that person.
- 14:59Speaker 5: Wow.
- 15:00Speaker 2: And they found him attractive eventually, but initially they weren't like,
- 15:03Speaker 2: oh my God, this person's so hot.
- 15:05Speaker 5: Right.
- 15:05Speaker 2: And I'm like, I wonder how many times that happens.
- 15:07Speaker 2: How many times do you start dating somebody? Where you're like,
- 15:11Speaker 2: because I don't know if I could date somebody that
- 15:12Speaker 2: I didn't find initially attractive.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Huh.
- 15:15Speaker 2: I mean, could you?
- 15:16Speaker 5: I mean, I haven't dated in a long time, but
- 15:19Speaker 5: I feel like people do it all the time.
- 15:20Speaker 2: I think women do it.
- 15:22Speaker 5: Okay.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Yeah, women do it. Women do it.
- 15:24Speaker 5: Women are more likely to give people a chance.
- 15:26Speaker 4: Right.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Yeah. Men, meh.
- 15:28Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a good point.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Not so much. I think women are like, you know what,
- 15:31Speaker 2: let me date him.
- 15:32Speaker 5: So this is the female population we're talking about.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Pretty much. I think it would be higher. In the
- 15:37Speaker 2: female population. I think that would be 60%.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Wow.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Because women are more forgiving and they have better personalities
- 15:43Speaker 2: than men.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:44Speaker 6: Yeah, because I've dated some girls that have been like, man,
- 15:46Speaker 6: how did I get her?
- 15:49Speaker 2: Oh, you have? Yeah. I've dated some girls.
- 15:51Speaker 4: When?
- 15:51Speaker 2: Wow. Back in the day. When was that? I'm saying
- 15:59Speaker 2: back then. I was like, man, how did I get her?
- 16:01Speaker 2: But yeah. How did you get her? I know. How
- 16:05Speaker 2: did you? I mean, I'm curious.
- 16:06Speaker 5: She gave you a chance?
- 16:07Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 16:07Speaker 4: I'm curious.
- 16:07Speaker 2: You know why? I'll tell you why.
- 16:09Speaker 4: Why?
- 16:09Speaker 2: Because women, you know what's more funny, better than looks
- 16:13Speaker 2: for women? Funny.
- 16:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:15Speaker 2: That's true. Women like funny. Thank God. Yeah. Thank God
- 16:18Speaker 2: they like funny poo. We'd be in trouble. Yeah, I would. Otherwise.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Anybody else go through this phase where you just want
- 16:24Speaker 2: to clean and get rid of stuff, or am I
- 16:25Speaker 2: going crazy?
- 16:26Speaker 5: Oh, no, it's a thing.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Okay, it is. It's Mix 102.9, Ability Kid, Candice Lopez,
- 16:30Speaker 2: Producer Pooh is here. Well, I'm going through stuff, and
- 16:33Speaker 2: I'm like, I own so much ridiculous stuff that why?
- 16:37Speaker 4: Why?
- 16:38Speaker 2: So here's my question to you is, what obscure item
- 16:40Speaker 2: do you own that you're pretty sure 99% of the
- 16:43Speaker 2: population does not? What obscure item do you own? I
- 16:48Speaker 2: want to know about it. I know mine right off
- 16:50Speaker 2: the bat. I'm like, why do I have this?
- 16:52Speaker 5: Is it your princess diet cake? A little micro piece
- 16:55Speaker 5: of cake?
- 16:56Speaker 2: No, I gave that away.
- 16:57Speaker 5: You did?
- 16:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I gave it away. I know I own a little...
- 17:00Speaker 2: When I say a tiny piece... Princess dies cake birthday
- 17:04Speaker 2: cake or whatever wedding cake wedding cake. I randomly got
- 17:07Speaker 2: it and it was so small It's like the size
- 17:09Speaker 2: of your fingernail. Oh so tiny, but I did that
- 17:13Speaker 2: is obscure But I got rid of it then the
- 17:15Speaker 2: other piece of random stuff that I have is a
- 17:19Speaker 2: piece of the movie set Titanic Yay, was it the
- 17:22Speaker 2: door piece of the door of? signed by Leo And
- 17:27Speaker 2: Kate Winslet. That's right. That I randomly bought in an
- 17:31Speaker 2: auction when I was drinking a little too much and
- 17:34Speaker 2: signed up and then felt so dumb when I had
- 17:37Speaker 2: to pay for it. Because I'm not going to tell
- 17:39Speaker 2: you how much I paid.
- 17:39Speaker 5: Well, I was going to ask.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Nope. Not happening. But I'll tell you this much.
- 17:42Speaker 5: Is it over $ 500?
- 17:43Speaker 2: Yes. Instant regret. It was for charity.
- 17:49Speaker 5: Oh, well, that's good.
- 17:50Speaker 2: You know, it was okay. But what about you? What
- 17:52Speaker 2: obscure item? And if you have one, call me or
- 17:54Speaker 2: at Billy on the radio on Instagram. Candace, I don't
- 17:56Speaker 2: know if you have never known you have the own
- 17:58Speaker 2: obscure stuff, weird stuff.
- 17:59Speaker 5: Well, it's just weird that I have this at all.
- 18:02Speaker 5: But I have a placenta painting.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Wait a minute.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Hold on. Hold on.
- 18:08Speaker 5: Wait a second.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 18:10Speaker 5: When I had my son, I had a doula, right?
- 18:13Speaker 5: And she was doing all the natural things.
- 18:15Speaker 4: Who?
- 18:16Speaker 5: I had a doula.
- 18:17Speaker 2: What is that? Who's she?
- 18:18Speaker 5: A birthing doula.
- 18:19Speaker 3: Like, yeah.
- 18:20Speaker 4: Nina.
- 18:20Speaker 5: She helped me, like. birth and like go through contractions
- 18:23Speaker 5: and do it all naturally.
- 18:24Speaker 2: I didn't know that that was a thing. I mean,
- 18:26Speaker 2: I knew it was a thing. I didn't know what
- 18:27Speaker 2: they were called. I thought that was one specific person.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Well, as a gift to me, she like took the
- 18:32Speaker 5: placenta and like made a painting of it and it's,
- 18:36Speaker 5: I have it somewhere.
- 18:38Speaker 2: She did it. Yeah.
- 18:39Speaker 5: She did it for me.
- 18:39Speaker 2: She took your placenta.
- 18:40Speaker 4: Yes. I know.
- 18:42Speaker 5: It's really weird.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Wait a minute.
- 18:43Speaker 5: I know.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Did she ask? What?
- 18:46Speaker 5: Yeah, it's just, like, part of her service is, like,
- 18:48Speaker 5: a gift to me. Like, she made me all these, like,
- 18:50Speaker 5: cookies to help with, like, nursing.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Well, that's wonderful.
- 18:53Speaker 5: Things like that. Different teas and foods, like.
- 18:56Speaker 3: To help.
- 18:56Speaker 2: All right, you know what? This is random, but, Candace,
- 18:59Speaker 2: I rarely have to say this, but you win. Yeah,
- 19:01Speaker 2: I didn't even know you could do that.
- 19:02Speaker 5: Yeah, I didn't either until she did it.
- 19:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:06Speaker 2: A placenta painting. Right. What a beautiful thing to have.
- 19:09Speaker 5: It really is, but it's weird.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it's weird.
- 19:11Speaker 5: It's not like it's hanging up in the house. I
- 19:13Speaker 5: couldn't tell you where it is, but I have it.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Well, as long as you have it. Yeah, exactly. It'd
- 19:17Speaker 2: be even more bizarre if you didn't know where it
- 19:18Speaker 2: went and somebody else had it.
- 19:19Speaker 5: Right. Sold it at a garage sale.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Right, okay. They didn't know what it was. Interesting. Boo,
- 19:25Speaker 2: I got to know, and I'm scared to ask, what
- 19:27Speaker 2: random obscure thing do you own that you think 99%
- 19:30Speaker 2: of the population does not? Well, they shouldn't, but... My
- 19:33Speaker 2: very first retainer from when I had braces. Oh, my God.
- 19:38Speaker 5: Why? Why?
- 19:39Speaker 2: I kept it. I don't know. I don't know why.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Where?
- 19:42Speaker 2: I was in sixth grade. You kept it?
- 19:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:47Speaker 2: It's not even like something special. Anything you're going to
- 19:50Speaker 2: look at. Yeah, I know. Where is it at right now?
- 19:54Speaker 2: It should be in.
- 19:54Speaker 6: The bottom of, I got a tote, a big old
- 19:56Speaker 6: tote from my dad's house. I got a whole bunch
- 19:59Speaker 6: of stuff. I also have a, remember those things, they
- 20:02Speaker 6: call them jackalopes? My Uncle John gave me a jackalope.
- 20:06Speaker 4: No.
- 20:06Speaker 5: You've never seen a jackalope? It's an animal?
- 20:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a bunny with horns. You've never seen that? No.
- 20:14Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
- 20:15Speaker 2: You've seen the monkeys or loaves with it? Oh, okay, yeah. Yeah,
- 20:18Speaker 2: he gave me a jackalope when I was little. Okay, great.
- 20:22Speaker 6: But your retainer? Yeah, I kept my retainer. I have
- 20:25Speaker 6: a whole bunch of stuff from when I was a kid.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I have stuff with my son.
- 20:29Speaker 5: Arts and crafts.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Baby teeth. Yeah. His first hair from his first haircut.
- 20:34Speaker 2: I keep all that stuff. Is that weird?
- 20:36Speaker 4: Yeah, same.
- 20:36Speaker 7: No.
- 20:37Speaker 2: But retainer? Yeah, definitely not. I saw it a while back.
- 20:41Speaker 2: I was like, is this mine?
- 20:43Speaker 6: Because I thought it was my oldest son's Chris's, but
- 20:45Speaker 6: it's not. It's Dr.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Bershare.
- 20:47Speaker 6: And Arlington was my orthodontist. That's how I know it's mine.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Why do you know that? Wow. I just remembered. Who
- 20:54Speaker 2: can't remember anything at work? I know. Literally cannot remember
- 20:58Speaker 2: to do anything. Forgets to do everything every day. Right.
- 21:02Speaker 2: But I know who gave me my retainer in sixth grade.
- 21:05Speaker 5: 102.9.
- 21:05Speaker 4: The new Mix 102.9.
- 21:10Speaker 3: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 21:12Speaker 3: Kid in the morning.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Only on the new Mix 102.9. Candace Lopez, what is
- 21:17Speaker 4: going on?
- 21:17Speaker 5: Well, Apple is getting more into the smart home trend
- 21:20Speaker 5: with their first smart home display hub. It's called Home View.
- 21:24Speaker 5: So this is a new 7-inch display designed to compete
- 21:27Speaker 5: with Amazon Echo Show and Google's Nest Hub. So the
- 21:30Speaker 5: price point is $ 299. It can sit on a table
- 21:33Speaker 5: or mount on a wall. And it does everything like
- 21:36Speaker 5: play music, give you recipes. You can even do FaceTime
- 21:38Speaker 5: calls on it. Yeah, it's pretty cool.
- 21:41Speaker 2: I kind of like that. Is it already out? When
- 21:42Speaker 2: does it come out?
- 21:43Speaker 5: So it's coming out November 13th. Pre-orders have already started.
- 21:47Speaker 5: It basically looks like a giant, almost like your Apple
- 21:50Speaker 5: Watch display.
- 21:51Speaker 4: Okay.
- 21:52Speaker 5: Yeah, it can personalize itself for six people and do Siri.
- 21:55Speaker 5: I think it's going to be probably huge for the holidays.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I bet. Yeah, hopefully it doesn't sell out, though. It's
- 22:01Speaker 2: going to be hard to get.
- 22:02Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a good point.
- 22:03Speaker 2: I do like those things, though. Like, I had the
- 22:05Speaker 2: Google Nest or whatever.
- 22:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Love that thing.
- 22:07Speaker 5: Yeah, it's fun to just play music, like, in the
- 22:09Speaker 5: kitchen or, like, pull recipes up or whatever. But, yeah,
- 22:12Speaker 5: so that's what's trending this morning, obviously. You look for
- 22:15Speaker 5: a lot of factors when buying a new house. This
- 22:17Speaker 5: new report, though, says in addition to asking if the
- 22:19Speaker 5: schools are good, if the neighborhood is safe, and how
- 22:22Speaker 5: long your work commute would be, people are now asking
- 22:25Speaker 5: if there is a Costco nearby before deciding where to move.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Are you serious? Yes.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Why?
- 22:32Speaker 5: I mean, people love Costco.
- 22:33Speaker 2: The glizzies. Yes.
- 22:35Speaker 1: That, too.
- 22:35Speaker 5: Come on.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Nobody's moving because of a $ 1. 50 glizzy. I know.
- 22:39Speaker 5: I mean, it definitely helps, though, when you're like, yeah,
- 22:41Speaker 5: good school. It's safe. I can drive to work from here. Oh,
- 22:44Speaker 5: there's a Costco five minutes away. Like, you just think
- 22:46Speaker 5: about it, and it makes sense.
- 22:47Speaker 2: I just don't know what they're doing at Costco. I mean,
- 22:50Speaker 2: do they give away free gas or something? Because the
- 22:52Speaker 2: lines for the Costco gas station are so long.
- 22:55Speaker 5: Yeah, I have no idea.
- 22:56Speaker 2: It just makes no sense for me to go to
- 22:59Speaker 2: Costco because I don't have that many people in my family.
- 23:01Speaker 2: What am I going to do?
- 23:01Speaker 5: Yeah, we bulk shopped recently at Costco for the first
- 23:04Speaker 5: time in years, and we just don't have a place
- 23:06Speaker 5: for all this stuff. But I feel like we need it.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:09Speaker 5: Just in case.
- 23:10Speaker 2: You're such a hoarder. I know.
- 23:12Speaker 5: Speaking of Costco, though, people are also now installing Costco
- 23:15Speaker 5: doors in their homes.
- 23:17Speaker 2: I like that.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:18Speaker 5: So it's like a small opening between the garage and
- 23:20Speaker 5: like your pantry. So you can just slide your giant
- 23:22Speaker 5: bulk items straight into your house. Isn't that genius, though?
- 23:25Speaker 4: It is. Yeah.
- 23:26Speaker 5: Costco is an influencer.
- 23:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I know.
- 23:28Speaker 2: But see, it's also, too, we didn't need a Costco
- 23:30Speaker 2: door when I was a kid because I was bringing
- 23:32Speaker 2: in the groceries in one trip. No, but that's what
- 23:36Speaker 2: you do. You have your kids do it.
- 23:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Are kids not bringing in groceries?
- 23:39Speaker 5: Mine is.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Okay.
- 23:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I'm going to say, I'll call my son and be like,
- 23:43Speaker 2: I'm almost in the driveway.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Get ready.
- 23:45Speaker 5: Meet me in the driveway.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Meet me in the driveway. We got some stuff to
- 23:48Speaker 2: bring in.
- 23:48Speaker 5: Totally.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Totally.
- 23:49Speaker 5: Well, real quick, guys. Hilary Swank is expecting her third
- 23:53Speaker 5: child at the age of 52. She posted an Instagram
- 23:56Speaker 5: video with her three-year-old twins. They were kind of dancing
- 23:59Speaker 5: in the dark with these glow sticks. And then she
- 24:01Speaker 5: shows up with a glowing baby on her stomach. The
- 24:04Speaker 5: baby's due in December. And, you know, she's talked about
- 24:07Speaker 5: becoming a mom later in life, saying, you know, her
- 24:10Speaker 5: career being so established has allowed her more flexibility and
- 24:13Speaker 5: time to focus on raising her kids. But this is
- 24:16Speaker 5: the new trend. Women giving birth at age 40 or older.
- 24:19Speaker 2: I mean, whatever you want to do, I'm not going
- 24:21Speaker 2: to tell you what to do with your life. But
- 24:22Speaker 2: I know I know one thing in my 50s. I
- 24:25Speaker 2: don't want a newborn.
- 24:26Speaker 4: Right.
- 24:26Speaker 5: No, for sure.
- 24:27Speaker 2: I'm in my 40s and I couldn't handle it.
- 24:29Speaker 5: Yeah, it seems like a really good idea because you're established.
- 24:32Speaker 5: Maybe your finances are in order. You're more mature. But then, man,
- 24:35Speaker 5: I'm tired.
- 24:36Speaker 2: So she's at 52 right now and she already has
- 24:38Speaker 2: three-year-old twins?
- 24:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Oh, no. How does she do that?
- 24:42Speaker 5: Yeah, Janet Jackson had a child at age 50. If
- 24:44Speaker 5: you remember, I think that was like 2017. Anne Hathaway
- 24:47Speaker 5: is pregnant with her third right now at 43. Wow. Yeah,
- 24:50Speaker 5: get it, ladies.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I mean, hey, you do you. Super women
- 24:54Speaker 2: right there.
- 24:55Speaker 5: Of course.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Who is it, Robert De Niro, that has like eight
- 24:57Speaker 2: kids and he's like, he just had a newborn at
- 24:59Speaker 2: like 90? Oh, my gosh. Al Pacino. Oh, Al Pacino. Yeah.
- 25:03Speaker 2: But like, what's he doing? He's got nannies. He's not
- 25:05Speaker 2: having the kid.
- 25:06Speaker 4: Right.
- 25:07Speaker 2: And if you're a woman and you're 53 and you're
- 25:08Speaker 2: having a child, I'm like, good for you.
- 25:10Speaker 5: Yeah, seriously. I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top
- 25:13Speaker 5: Stories on.
- 25:14Speaker 2: I'm Mix 102.9. It's Billy the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh.
- 25:18Speaker 2: We were talking about what obscure items do you own
- 25:21Speaker 2: that you think nobody else on the planet would own.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Some of this stuff I'm getting on Instagram, so bizarre, too. Yeah,
- 25:28Speaker 2: hit me up, at Billy on the radio, at Billy
- 25:30Speaker 2: on the radio. Are you ready for this one? I
- 25:31Speaker 2: have a letter from Winston Churchill calling my great-grandpa a moron.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Oh!
- 25:37Speaker 2: Okay.
- 25:37Speaker 5: What?
- 25:38Speaker 2: That's kind of awesome.
- 25:39Speaker 4: Why?
- 25:39Speaker 2: That's kind of great. Somebody has that. Somebody else.
- 25:43Speaker 2: I got to see how to chat. Of course it's
- 25:45Speaker 2: a Chad. Chad in Fort Worth said, I have a
- 25:48Speaker 2: couple noodles at home. That expired April of 2001. And
- 25:52Speaker 2: for whatever reason, they've moved with me every time I move.
- 25:54Speaker 2: And I just keep them now because I think it's
- 25:56Speaker 2: kind of funny. A cup of ramen noodles from 2001.
- 26:02Speaker 2: You got a weird item, Victor. What is it?
- 26:04Speaker 1: I have a piece of glass, nuclear glass from the
- 26:08Speaker 1: Trinity explosion in New Mexico.
- 26:10Speaker 4: What?
- 26:11Speaker 5: Whoa.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Is that safe? Is that safe?
- 26:14Speaker 8: I don't know if anybody has that, but.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Oh, I don't think they do. I don't think they do.
- 26:18Speaker 2: I don't know if you're supposed to. How did you
- 26:20Speaker 2: get that? Went to the site and picked it up. Oh.
- 26:24Speaker 2: And it was weird. Then I grew a third eye. Yeah.
- 26:29Speaker 2: That's kind of awesome. Well, good for you. That's cool.
- 26:31Speaker 2: I mean, that is cool. You know what? I do
- 26:33Speaker 2: have something random. I forgot I have ashes and a
- 26:35Speaker 2: piece of a plane from a plane crash that happened
- 26:39Speaker 2: in Detroit back in the day. My uncle gave it
- 26:41Speaker 2: to me. Why? Yeah. For what? Why would you do that?
- 26:46Speaker 5: I don't know. That's wilder than mine.
- 26:47Speaker 2: My grandpa was, or my uncle was deaf and mute. So, like,
- 26:52Speaker 2: he would give me weird things as, like, a way
- 26:54Speaker 2: to communicate. And he gave me a piece of the plane.
- 26:58Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't know if the FAA knows about this, but, yeah.
- 27:01Speaker 5: Why would someone want that?
- 27:03Speaker 2: I kind of thought it was cool.
- 27:04Speaker 5: You did?
- 27:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know where it went, but. Here, Billy,
- 27:07Speaker 2: here's the wing of the plane.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Well, hey, Victor, thank you so much. We appreciate it. Now,
- 27:12Speaker 2: take care of that glass, buddy. I have a tail, too.
- 27:15Speaker 1: I grew a tail.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Oh, good. Well, perfect. Wag it for us today, okay?
- 27:19Speaker 2: Wag your tail for us, Victor.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Get it off your chest.
- 27:23Speaker 3: It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
- 27:25Speaker 3: Morning on Mix 102.9. Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
- 27:29Speaker 5: All right, get ready.
- 27:29Speaker 2: We got Weezer tickets coming up after Dirty Little Secret.
- 27:32Speaker 2: If you want to go, the show is Saturday, so
- 27:34Speaker 2: let's get you hooked up. It's Billy the Kid, Candace Lopez.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Producer Poo is here. All right. If you have a secret, 833-787-1029.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Or you can always DM me at Billy on the radio.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Doesn't matter what it is. Big secret, little secret. It's
- 27:47Speaker 2: a non-judgment zone. And you got one.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Okay, so I have a secret about my ex-boyfriend, and
- 27:54Speaker 1: I know it makes me sound a little crazy, but honestly,
- 27:58Speaker 1: I think it's hilarious.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Okay, well, I like crazy anyway, so that's fine. She's
- 28:02Speaker 2: got a little evil laugh. Yeah, the evil little laugh there, too. Good.
- 28:05Speaker 2: So what are you doing? What's the secret?
- 28:07Speaker 1: We broke up a couple months ago, and we were
- 28:09Speaker 1: together for like two years, okay? So we lived together
- 28:13Speaker 1: for the last year, which, by the way, is when
- 28:16Speaker 1: everything started falling apart. OK, so I'm not going to
- 28:20Speaker 1: say he he wasn't the worst boyfriend, but he definitely
- 28:23Speaker 1: wasn't the best either. You know, I I never caught
- 28:26Speaker 1: him cheating, but always suspected something. And then I I
- 28:32Speaker 1: know he really moved on fast after we broke up.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Oh, which which leads you to believe he was. See,
- 28:39Speaker 2: when somebody moves on too fast, that does lead me
- 28:42Speaker 2: to believe that they were cheating.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:43Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 28:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:44Speaker 2: So, okay. But you don't know that he was for sure.
- 28:47Speaker 1: I don't know if when we were together, but I feel,
- 28:50Speaker 1: you know, here's the thing.
- 28:52Speaker 8: The reason I know.
- 28:53Speaker 1: That he moved on is because, well, I still have
- 28:57Speaker 1: access to all the security cameras at the house.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Oh.
- 29:00Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Yes. You have access to it right now? Like, even
- 29:04Speaker 2: though you don't live there anymore, you can see everything?
- 29:07Speaker 1: Right now. I'm talking the ring camera at the front door,
- 29:10Speaker 1: the backyard camera. There's a camera in his living room. Wait,
- 29:15Speaker 1: not only that, I still have access to his smart refrigerator, thermostat.
- 29:20Speaker 5: Psycho.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Every single light in the house.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Psycho.
- 29:23Speaker 1: And I'm the one that set everything up because when
- 29:27Speaker 1: we live together, he's just too technologically clueless to figure
- 29:30Speaker 1: out how to remove me.
- 29:32Speaker 2: So he hasn't even thought that you can have access
- 29:36Speaker 2: to this stuff. That's so, what a dummy.
- 29:39Speaker 7: I mean not even telling you and last week the
- 29:44Speaker 7: literally the week after we broke up i got an
- 29:47Speaker 7: alert on my phone that some girl was showing up
- 29:49Speaker 7: at the front door And I was like.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Are you kidding me? That sucks, though. That's awful. So
- 29:55Speaker 2: that's not cool to see.
- 29:56Speaker 1: That pissed me off.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Right. Yeah, absolutely. So what are you doing? Are you
- 30:01Speaker 2: doing anything with this, or are you just kind of
- 30:03Speaker 2: having fun with it?
- 30:04Speaker 1: I don't sit around watching him anymore, but.
- 30:07Speaker 1: I do have fun messing with him, okay? Sometimes in
- 30:11Speaker 1: the middle of the night, I'll like turn the lights
- 30:14Speaker 1: on really bright. And then I watch him walk around
- 30:17Speaker 1: all confused. And like, I'll leave lights on when he's
- 30:23Speaker 1: at work and, you know, run up his bill. And
- 30:26Speaker 1: this is one of my favorites is I turn the
- 30:28Speaker 1: AC up to like 85, 90. And so when he
- 30:31Speaker 1: gets home from work, it's hot.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Oh my God, that is so petty. So petty.
- 30:37Speaker 1: It's those little petty things that make me feel better.
- 30:40Speaker 1: I can't help it. He's a little older than me.
- 30:43Speaker 1: And like we were talking about, he's terrible with technology.
- 30:46Speaker 1: So he has no idea, I don't think.
- 30:48Speaker 2: So you turn on the lights. So you turn the
- 30:50Speaker 2: lights on and confuse them at night. You turn the AC.
- 30:54Speaker 2: And you leave the lights on all day. So it
- 30:56Speaker 2: runs up his bill. That's funny.
- 30:59Speaker 5: I can't help but laugh.
- 31:00Speaker 6: Right.
- 31:01Speaker 5: It could be worse.
- 31:02Speaker 2: But here's the best part. Yeah.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Here's the best part. You know it's coming up. Halloween
- 31:07Speaker 1: is coming up and.
- 31:08Speaker 8: I'm already thinking about how I'm going to make.
- 31:10Speaker 1: It make the house.
- 31:15Speaker 2: That is hysterical. But I know this happened to a
- 31:17Speaker 2: friend of mine, too. So my friend, they broke up
- 31:20Speaker 2: and when they broke up, he had some other girl
- 31:23Speaker 2: come over. And his ex-girlfriend showed up. It's because she
- 31:27Speaker 2: still had access to the Ring doorbell camera.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Oh.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Yeah. And she's like, oh, really? This fast, huh? This fast. Yeah. Yeah.
- 31:35Speaker 2: I mean, it happens. You even have access to his refrigerator? Yeah.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Everything.
- 31:40Speaker 5: Is there a camera?
- 31:41Speaker 2: Yeah. There's a camera in the refrigerator? There's a camera
- 31:43Speaker 2: in mine.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Really?
- 31:44Speaker 4: There is?
- 31:45Speaker 2: I can access the camera.
- 31:46Speaker 4: Yeah, everywhere.
- 31:46Speaker 5: Is that like that Samsung thing?
- 31:48Speaker 1: Yep.
- 31:49Speaker 5: Ah, so you can update your grocery list?
- 31:51Speaker 2: Yeah, and I can see what's going on in my house.
- 31:52Speaker 2: It's got a camera in and out.
- 31:54Speaker 8: Yes.
- 31:55Speaker 5: You know what?
- 31:56Speaker 2: Be petty.
- 31:57Speaker 5: Who cares?
- 31:58Speaker 2: Life's short. Be petty. You're not doing anything crazy. I
- 32:02Speaker 2: wouldn't want to watch, though. I'd be a little bit
- 32:03Speaker 2: weirded out if I was watching his cameras. Yeah, for real.
- 32:06Speaker 2: But turn it on and off the lights. Oh, well.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Why not?
- 32:09Speaker 5: That's funny.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Yeah. I used to do it when I was a kid.
- 32:12Speaker 2: I would take a remote control, a universal remote control,
- 32:15Speaker 2: and go to people's windows and turn the channels on
- 32:17Speaker 2: the TV.
- 32:17Speaker 8: Oh, you're... No.
- 32:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:19Speaker 5: I love it.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Hoodrat Billy would do that.
- 32:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:23Speaker 5: That's funny. Anywhere.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, thank you for your secret, and enjoy the pettiness,
- 32:28Speaker 2: and happy early Halloween. Good for you.
- 32:31Speaker 5: Happy Halloween.
- 32:32Speaker 8: Thanks for the validation.
- 32:34Speaker 6: All right.
- 32:36Speaker 3: It's time for Candace Court. It gets settled here with
- 32:40Speaker 3: Billy the Kid in the morning.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Remain seated. That's what we're going to start saying.
- 32:45Speaker 5: That's fine. I like to sit, too.
- 32:46Speaker 2: We're tired, you know.
- 32:47Speaker 5: I get it. It's Thursday.
- 32:49Speaker 2: By the end of the week, do we have to rise,
- 32:50Speaker 2: Your Honor?
- 32:51Speaker 5: No, you don't have to rise.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Okay, all due respect, though.
- 32:53Speaker 5: Remain seated.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Thank you very much. If you've got a problem for
- 32:56Speaker 2: Candace to help, she can solve it. At Candace on
- 32:58Speaker 2: air on Instagram. Just hit her up. At Candace on air. Okay,
- 33:01Speaker 2: this one is cracking me up, Candace. I don't know
- 33:02Speaker 2: if you're ready for this.
- 33:03Speaker 3: Okay.
- 33:03Speaker 2: This is the kind of couple fight, parenting fight I
- 33:06Speaker 2: like to hear about. Hey, Candace, I need you to
- 33:08Speaker 2: settle an argument between my husband and me because apparently
- 33:11Speaker 2: I'm the only adult in this house. Our seven-year-old son
- 33:15Speaker 2: wants to dress up as the poop emoji for Halloween.
- 33:18Speaker 5: Okay.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Yes, the giant brown pile of poop with eyeballs and
- 33:23Speaker 2: a smile. I think it's absolutely disgusting and inappropriate. OK,
- 33:29Speaker 2: especially because he wants to wear it to a school
- 33:31Speaker 2: Halloween party. But my husband thinks it's the funniest thing
- 33:35Speaker 2: he's ever heard. He actually went online and ordered the
- 33:38Speaker 2: costume without asking me. His argument is that our seven
- 33:41Speaker 2: year old son thinks Pete thinks poop jokes are hilarious
- 33:46Speaker 2: and we should let him be a kid. He's also
- 33:48Speaker 2: says it's not like he's dressing up as something violent
- 33:50Speaker 2: or scary. I'm sorry, but I think there should be
- 33:52Speaker 2: some boundaries here. I don't want my child walking around
- 33:55Speaker 2: the neighborhood dressed up like a giant piece of crap.
- 34:00Speaker 2: And I definitely don't want to show those pictures one day.
- 34:04Speaker 2: For the rest of his life, he was the poop emoji.
- 34:07Speaker 2: My husband is telling me I'm overreacting. Is it unreasonable?
- 34:10Speaker 2: I feel like I... I'm raising two little boys in
- 34:14Speaker 2: this house.
- 34:15Speaker 4: Oh.
- 34:15Speaker 5: All right.
- 34:16Speaker 2: So, Candace, you know what? Come on. I don't know
- 34:19Speaker 2: what your opinion is, but that's all that matters. What
- 34:21Speaker 2: do you think?
- 34:22Speaker 5: Well, I always get nervous, too, when I ask Enzo
- 34:24Speaker 5: every year what he wants to be, but I fear
- 34:25Speaker 5: he's going to want to be something, like, gory and
- 34:27Speaker 5: bloody and, like, horror. I'm glad it's a smiling poop, but, like,
- 34:33Speaker 5: moms get judged for things that dads don't. Like, the
- 34:35Speaker 5: social cost of being a mom is way higher. Like,
- 34:38Speaker 5: if their lunch doesn't make sense.
- 34:40Speaker 4: Mom, mom.
- 34:40Speaker 5: Forgot about, you know, dress-up day.
- 34:42Speaker 4: Mom.
- 34:42Speaker 5: Kids' clothes are disheveled.
- 34:45Speaker 4: Mom.
- 34:45Speaker 2: I do understand what you're saying, but first of all,
- 34:48Speaker 2: what can Enzo be then if he can't be the
- 34:50Speaker 2: poop emoji and he can't be something gory and scary?
- 34:53Speaker 2: It's Halloween.
- 34:55Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't mind the poop emoji if my kid
- 34:57Speaker 5: asks me, but I totally understand where she's coming from
- 35:00Speaker 5: because the school parties are a whole thing. But my
- 35:02Speaker 5: kid wants to be a transformer every year so far,
- 35:05Speaker 5: so we just swap around. This year he's Bumblebee. It's easy.
- 35:08Speaker 5: He has a mask. We're done.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Okay, cool. No, that's good. I like that. So even
- 35:12Speaker 2: if it wasn't the poop emoji and if it was
- 35:14Speaker 2: something gory and scary, you'd be like, no?
- 35:16Speaker 5: I mean, eventually we'll get there. I'm just not ready
- 35:19Speaker 5: for that. He's eight. So I don't know. I just
- 35:21Speaker 5: don't like doing all the like gory, you know, like
- 35:24Speaker 5: a sword sticking out of your back and blood dripping
- 35:26Speaker 5: all down your back.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Oh, that's awesome though.
- 35:28Speaker 4: Mom!
- 35:29Speaker 2: See, no fun zone. Candace, you know what she thinks
- 35:31Speaker 2: is scary? She's like, why don't you be a ghost?
- 35:33Speaker 2: We have a sheet. You can just put it over
- 35:34Speaker 2: your head. Ooh, spooky. Cost them all a budget. You
- 35:38Speaker 2: got to let a kid be a kid. Yeah, come on.
- 35:40Speaker 5: No, I get it. But if she doesn't like it,
- 35:42Speaker 5: I think mom has the final say. You can't order
- 35:45Speaker 5: the costume without talking to me. Can't we talk about
- 35:47Speaker 5: it and see what everybody thinks?
- 35:49Speaker 2: That's the real problem.
- 35:50Speaker 4: Right.
- 35:50Speaker 2: The real problem is she wouldn't even care if this
- 35:53Speaker 2: was her idea. She'd be like, oh, yeah, I think
- 35:56Speaker 2: it's great. Nobody would care. But I think it's because
- 35:58Speaker 2: he ordered it without saying anything. See, this is the problem.
- 36:01Speaker 5: That's not fair. Plus, it's fun. Shopping for Halloween costumes
- 36:04Speaker 5: is fun and picking them out. I love that every year.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Really? So dad took her fun away? Is that what
- 36:10Speaker 2: you're saying?
- 36:11Speaker 4: Well, yeah.
- 36:11Speaker 5: You only get your seven-year-old's Halloween costume once.
- 36:15Speaker 2: I think of relationships like this when there's a stupid
- 36:18Speaker 2: fight like this, because it's a stupid fight. Oh, yeah.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Dumb fight. It's usually something else that's going on that's
- 36:24Speaker 2: been building, building, building, and building, and then boom.
- 36:27Speaker 5: It's possible.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Then the poop emoji sets it off. Then all of
- 36:31Speaker 2: a sudden we're arguing about the poop emoji on Halloween.
- 36:34Speaker 5: Right.
- 36:34Speaker 2: The kid's seven. I think it's hilarious. I dressed my
- 36:37Speaker 2: kid up as a toilet one year.
- 36:38Speaker 5: You did. That's right.
- 36:40Speaker 1: What?
- 36:40Speaker 2: I forgot about that. He won the contest.
- 36:42Speaker 5: Yeah, he did. Why was he a toilet?
- 36:44Speaker 2: I forget, but I mean, I went all out. I
- 36:47Speaker 2: had a real toilet seat. I built the thing that
- 36:49Speaker 2: he could wear around his shoulders.
- 36:50Speaker 4: I got all in.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Right, I forgot about that. And he was a full-blown toilet.
- 36:54Speaker 5: You should have been the poop emoji then.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, right? But he won the contest.
- 36:58Speaker 5: That's amazing.
- 36:59Speaker 2: So, yeah, and people are going to be, oh, he's
- 37:01Speaker 2: going to see as a toilet for the rest of
- 37:03Speaker 2: his life. Yeah, it's hysterical. Do you have a picture
- 37:06Speaker 2: of you as a kid with a certain costume that
- 37:07Speaker 2: you're like, okay, that was great. Like, I was a
- 37:09Speaker 2: Smurf one year.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:10Speaker 2: I didn't look anything like a Smurf.
- 37:12Speaker 5: I was Michael Jackson one year, and I was great. Yeah,
- 37:15Speaker 5: because my hair is wavy, and so I could, like,
- 37:17Speaker 5: do his hair and do all the things. I had
- 37:19Speaker 5: the moonwalk down.
- 37:20Speaker 2: I want to see. Mama Lopez, Papa Lopez, if you
- 37:24Speaker 2: send me this picture, I owe you everything in life.
- 37:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:26Speaker 2: There you go. I mean, is there a picture of it?
- 37:29Speaker 5: Yeah, there's a picture. It's, I mean, I don't know where.
- 37:31Speaker 2: What were you poo? Were you anything? Now you should
- 37:33Speaker 2: be the poop emoji. No, I tried to be a
- 37:35Speaker 2: Smurf and my mom was like, it's not going to work.
- 37:38Speaker 4: Why?
- 37:38Speaker 6: Because I'm black, first of all, and trying to put
- 37:41Speaker 6: that blue paint, it looked like I was blue and black.
- 37:44Speaker 1: No.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Look, the costumes were so ghetto when we were younger. Yeah,
- 37:48Speaker 2: back then you didn't have nothing but the plastic mask.
- 37:51Speaker 5: They were so stinky, too.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:54Speaker 5: Very stinky.
- 37:54Speaker 2: They were so lame. Now it's like you got spirit.
- 37:57Speaker 2: We had, you know.
- 37:58Speaker 5: Props and.
- 37:58Speaker 2: We had Kmart and Big Lot. Yeah. Big Lot. We
- 38:02Speaker 2: had to figure it out, you know.
- 38:04Speaker 5: Yeah, we didn't have Amazon.
- 38:05Speaker 2: Awful. All right. Do you have a verdict?
- 38:07Speaker 5: I do. Look, sorry, Dad. You're guilty of being a
- 38:09Speaker 5: spirit store, Steve.
- 38:11Speaker 4: Oh.
- 38:11Speaker 5: Go back to the spirit store.
- 38:13Speaker 4: No.
- 38:13Speaker 2: You're a poopy Patricia.
- 38:15Speaker 4: Ha ha.
- 38:16Speaker 5: Have multiple costumes if you want. You can wear one
- 38:18Speaker 5: to school, one for Halloween night. You can get your
- 38:20Speaker 5: poop on for one minute and it's fine. But have multiples, okay?
- 38:23Speaker 2: I just wanted to hear you say get your poop on.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Case closed.
- 38:30Speaker 3: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 38:32Speaker 3: Kid in the Morning.
- 38:33Speaker 4: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Got a chance to win some money. Coming up, our
- 38:38Speaker 2: cash cow is out back right now outside the radio station,
- 38:42Speaker 2: just sitting there off the tollway and giving away cash.
- 38:45Speaker 2: So we'll do it at like 840 for a shot,
- 38:47Speaker 2: then on the 40s all day. It's a big old
- 38:49Speaker 2: fat heifer. Rich heifer. That's what I need in my life.
- 38:54Speaker 2: Rich heifer.
- 38:54Speaker 4: Well, get one.
- 38:58Speaker 2: All right, Candace, I will.
- 38:59Speaker 5: All right.
- 39:00Speaker 2: What is going on, Candace?
- 39:01Speaker 5: Well, guys, it's warmer right now than it's going to
- 39:03Speaker 5: be all weekend. Seventy four degrees outside right now. But
- 39:05Speaker 5: big changes coming with the weather today. We'll get up
- 39:08Speaker 5: to low 90s. But then that strong cold front gets
- 39:11Speaker 5: here around sunset. You'll probably notice the winds picking up.
- 39:14Speaker 5: Scattered showers are possible tonight. Then we'll dry out into
- 39:17Speaker 5: tomorrow morning. The high is barely going to get to 70.
- 39:21Speaker 5: May not get to 70.
- 39:23Speaker 4: Yes.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Give me a PSL. Give me some football, a hoodie.
- 39:27Speaker 2: crock pot going apple cider chili crock pot chili no
- 39:31Speaker 2: beans yeah no beans absolutely not beans are on trend
- 39:35Speaker 2: quadruple beans and her.
- 39:37Speaker 5: Chili triple it's triple beans.
- 39:40Speaker 2: It's a bean chili it's there's so many damn beans i.
- 39:43Speaker 5: Know all right get your fiber on Guys, Netflix is
- 39:47Speaker 5: laying off around 1,000 employees. This is about 6% of
- 39:50Speaker 5: their global workforce. It's going to be the largest round
- 39:53Speaker 5: of job cuts there since 2022. Most of these are
- 39:56Speaker 5: in product, tech, and legal, also HR. Netflix does have
- 40:01Speaker 5: more subscribers than any streamer, but they're saying engagement and
- 40:04Speaker 5: revenue are both really slowing down for them, which is
- 40:06Speaker 5: why we're starting to see them get into live sports
- 40:09Speaker 5: and games to really compete with YouTube.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Well, as much as they keep raising the price.
- 40:14Speaker 5: I know that too.
- 40:15Speaker 2: And everything too. It's not just Netflix. Every single like
- 40:20Speaker 2: thing that I have subscribed to, I get an email
- 40:22Speaker 2: like just a heads up. We'll be increasing your subscription, right?
- 40:25Speaker 2: I'm like, you know what? I'm so close to canceling
- 40:28Speaker 2: everything and just being Amish.
- 40:30Speaker 5: Okay.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Not going to watch TV. No electronics. I'm getting rid
- 40:34Speaker 2: of my phone.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Yeah, right.
- 40:35Speaker 2: I'm getting rid of social media. Yep. I'm going to
- 40:38Speaker 2: just literally just sell people handwritten letters by pigeon. You
- 40:42Speaker 2: going to make furniture?
- 40:43Speaker 4: Yes.
- 40:44Speaker 2: And churn butter.
- 40:46Speaker 5: I just like to have one thing be one thing.
- 40:48Speaker 5: You know, like Netflix I want for movies and TV shows.
- 40:51Speaker 5: You know, ESPN I want for sports. You know, Hulu
- 40:54Speaker 5: for like basically cable, local channels.
- 40:57Speaker 4: I know.
- 40:57Speaker 2: It's like trying to figure out where the football game
- 40:59Speaker 2: is on is the whole thing. Is it on Peacock, Hulu?
- 41:03Speaker 5: I know.
- 41:04Speaker 2: Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime? That's where I shop. No, that's
- 41:07Speaker 2: also where you can watch a game.
- 41:08Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 41:09Speaker 5: Exactly. Guys, TSA is reminding Halloween travelers that you cannot
- 41:13Speaker 5: bring costume weapons through security. So they're saying, you know,
- 41:17Speaker 5: you can wear a costume within reason, but anything that
- 41:19Speaker 5: looks like an explosive and a carry-on or a checked
- 41:23Speaker 5: bag could get thrown out by TSA. I guess they
- 41:26Speaker 5: say people travel with swords, brooms, pitchforks. So think about
- 41:31Speaker 5: that when you're putting it in your bag.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't believe that people are actually dressing up
- 41:34Speaker 2: to travel.
- 41:35Speaker 5: Right.
- 41:36Speaker 2: They're so happy. Why are you doing that?
- 41:39Speaker 5: I mean, people are into Halloween. I don't know if
- 41:41Speaker 5: anyone's dressing up to travel this early. But, you know,
- 41:44Speaker 5: most of your Halloween makeup, they say, is allowed. Candy's allowed.
- 41:46Speaker 5: Even pumpkins carved to jack-o'-lanterns are allowed in carry-on bags.
- 41:50Speaker 5: But watch your, you know, fake hand grenade.
- 41:52Speaker 2: Yeah, don't do that. Think about it. Although I have
- 41:55Speaker 2: actually went through TSA by accident with a knife one time.
- 41:59Speaker 4: Ooh.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Yeah, they frown upon that. Well, they pull me aside
- 42:03Speaker 2: and they're like, sir, over here. And I'm like, oh,
- 42:05Speaker 2: here we go.
- 42:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:06Speaker 2: You pat it down for something stupid. And then he's like, well,
- 42:09Speaker 2: you have this. And it was a big buck knife
- 42:11Speaker 2: that I had. And I'm like, oh, oh, I forgot
- 42:14Speaker 2: to take it out of my bag. Forgot to take
- 42:17Speaker 2: it out of my bag. He's like, yeah, you can't.
- 42:19Speaker 2: I'm like, no, I know. I know.
- 42:21Speaker 4: Right.
- 42:21Speaker 2: He's like, we're going to throw it away or, you know,
- 42:23Speaker 2: confiscate it. And I'm like, yeah, just I guess throw
- 42:26Speaker 2: it away, which sucked. But what would they do with
- 42:28Speaker 2: all that stuff? Yeah, I don't know. All the confiscated stuff?
- 42:31Speaker 5: Surely they have, like, a big warehouse sale eventually, right? Like, TSA,
- 42:35Speaker 5: lost and found.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:36Speaker 5: They should, yeah.
- 42:37Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 42:37Speaker 5: I'll look into it. I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your
- 42:39Speaker 5: Texas Top Stories. Oh, that's a hot take.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Let us know what you think.
- 42:44Speaker 4: Here's today's hot take.
- 42:46Speaker 2: I'm Mix 102.9. It's Bill of the Kid. Candace Lopez
- 42:48Speaker 2: is here. Pooh is here. Now, hot take, when I
- 42:50Speaker 2: saw this story, it got me so angry. It got
- 42:52Speaker 2: me so angry because I feel like we're failing as
- 42:54Speaker 2: a society. I really do. So what happened was this
- 42:58Speaker 2: influencer who's pregnant happened to be traveling, and she's doing
- 43:01Speaker 2: her thing. She's 31 years old. She's pregnant. Like I said,
- 43:05Speaker 2: she's got a lot going on. Traveling is intense. And
- 43:09Speaker 2: she's basically struggling to get her luggage in the overhead compartment.
- 43:14Speaker 4: Right.
- 43:14Speaker 7: Right.
- 43:15Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know how far along pregnant she is.
- 43:17Speaker 2: It doesn't even matter to me. Bottom line is those
- 43:19Speaker 2: things are heavy. She asked the male flight attendant, hey,
- 43:24Speaker 2: is there any way you could help me put this up?
- 43:26Speaker 2: You know, obviously I'm struggling over here. And he says, no,
- 43:30Speaker 2: I'm sorry, ma'am, I can't.
- 43:32Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 43:33Speaker 2: And I thought to myself, wait, he said he he
- 43:37Speaker 2: told her, sorry, I can't. If you're not able to
- 43:38Speaker 2: lift your bag above your head, you have to check it.
- 43:41Speaker 5: Oh, wow.
- 43:42Speaker 2: And, you know, people started going off on this guy.
- 43:45Speaker 2: And I'm not going off on him because I guess
- 43:47Speaker 2: what the deal is, is with certain airlines or whatever.
- 43:51Speaker 2: And I don't know the rules to every, you know,
- 43:53Speaker 2: policy or whatever they have.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Right.
- 43:55Speaker 2: They're not supposed to do that, which.
- 43:57Speaker 5: Might be a union thing.
- 43:59Speaker 2: Come on. That is so insane. That is so trash,
- 44:02Speaker 2: if you ask me. I guess they don't do that
- 44:06Speaker 2: because they say that if they did that for every passenger. Well,
- 44:10Speaker 2: then they could hurt themselves and risk injury. And I
- 44:13Speaker 2: love flight attendants. Not hating on them. If that's the rule,
- 44:16Speaker 2: that's the rule.
- 44:17Speaker 5: Yeah, that sounds probably true.
- 44:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 44:19Speaker 5: How many people would need help? Not many.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Yeah. Not many. But I'm sorry. Whatever. If I'm that
- 44:26Speaker 2: male flight attendant, I'm going to break the rules and
- 44:28Speaker 2: I'm going to help that woman. I don't care if
- 44:30Speaker 2: it means my job or not. If they're going to
- 44:32Speaker 2: fire me because I helped a pregnant woman put up
- 44:35Speaker 2: her luggage, fire me.
- 44:37Speaker 1: Right.
- 44:37Speaker 2: See what happens, airline, when the backlash is insane. Because
- 44:42Speaker 2: what kind of place are we living in where we
- 44:44Speaker 2: can't just help someone nowadays?
- 44:45Speaker 4: Right.
- 44:45Speaker 5: So we can't help an elderly person?
- 44:47Speaker 2: Nope. Can't do it. Sorry, grandma. Get your bag up there.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Your old bag of bones. Figure it out.
- 44:51Speaker 5: What about people with disabilities?
- 44:53Speaker 2: Well, you got to figure it out. Then you're going
- 44:54Speaker 2: to have to check your bag.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Wow.
- 44:56Speaker 5: What happened?
- 44:57Speaker 2: Like, I'm sorry, but when I travel or anything, and
- 45:00Speaker 2: maybe I'm old school, I don't know. If I am
- 45:03Speaker 2: on the aisle, and I say the aisle because I
- 45:04Speaker 2: think it matters. If I'm on the aisle and I'm
- 45:07Speaker 2: just doing my thing or whatever and the plane gets
- 45:10Speaker 2: ready to deboard and I see who's around me and
- 45:14Speaker 2: if it's a woman, I automatically go, hey, let me
- 45:16Speaker 2: grab that for you.
- 45:17Speaker 5: Right.
- 45:17Speaker 2: And I take the luggage down.
- 45:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:19Speaker 5: People typically offer to help me because I'm struggling just
- 45:23Speaker 5: because it's so high for me.
- 45:25Speaker 4: Right. You know?
- 45:26Speaker 1: Right.
- 45:27Speaker 2: If I'm not traveling with it. You're going to have
- 45:29Speaker 2: to start carrying a phone book just to reach the overhead.
- 45:33Speaker 5: Yeah, a step stool.
- 45:34Speaker 2: No, but seriously, you can't get that. Right.
- 45:36Speaker 5: I'm physically able to. I just can't reach it.
- 45:39Speaker 2: You can't reach it.
- 45:40Speaker 5: Right. No, I've had my bag start to slide back
- 45:44Speaker 5: out at me.
- 45:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:45Speaker 5: You know?
- 45:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:46Speaker 5: And then all of a sudden jumped up to help
- 45:48Speaker 5: catch it.
- 45:48Speaker 2: You're getting hit.
- 45:49Speaker 1: But what?
- 45:50Speaker 5: But men, what happened?
- 45:52Speaker 2: What happened to just being a nice gentleman? OK, hold on.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Why can't you just be a nice gentleman? And because
- 45:59Speaker 2: I've watched so many men around me not even reach.
- 46:04Speaker 2: and help a woman as they struggle to get the
- 46:07Speaker 2: luggage down.
- 46:08Speaker 5: Yeah, that's not cool.
- 46:09Speaker 2: I'm looking at one right now. I'm one of those.
- 46:11Speaker 6: And in my defense, I'll tell you why. Because nowadays,
- 46:14Speaker 6: you never know if you're going to get screamed at.
- 46:17Speaker 6: You know, like, oh, I can do it myself.
- 46:20Speaker 5: I mean, the odds are you're not going to get
- 46:21Speaker 5: screamed at.
- 46:22Speaker 2: I know, but most women now, I don't know if
- 46:24Speaker 2: it's heightened or whatever. No, that's not most women.
- 46:27Speaker 6: A lot of women are already paranoid about weird men. saying, Hey,
- 46:33Speaker 6: can I do something for you? So I feel like,
- 46:36Speaker 6: but we can't.
- 46:37Speaker 2: Okay.
- 46:38Speaker 6: I feel like, you know, if I sit up there
- 46:39Speaker 6: and be like, Hey, you don't know me. So if I, Hey,
- 46:41Speaker 6: can I get that for you?
- 46:42Speaker 2: Ooh, you're not going home with her. I know that.
- 46:46Speaker 2: But a lot of women are on edge. They don't
- 46:48Speaker 2: want to, they don't want a guy doing anything for them.
- 46:50Speaker 2: I don't think that's the case.
- 46:52Speaker 6: I know my mom taught me better than that, but
- 46:54Speaker 6: I'm just like, I'm not trying to get screamed at
- 46:56Speaker 6: for trying to be polite because some women, I mean,
- 46:59Speaker 6: I got screamed at for opening up a door, not
- 47:01Speaker 6: screamed at, but hollered at.
- 47:02Speaker 2: I was like, I can do it myself. Okay, lady,
- 47:04Speaker 2: I was just trying to be polite. But that shouldn't
- 47:06Speaker 2: ruin you being a nice person. I hold the door
- 47:09Speaker 2: for a guy if the guy's coming up next to me.
- 47:12Speaker 4: Why?
- 47:13Speaker 2: For sure.
- 47:14Speaker 5: It's just human, you know, kindness, compassion. Just hold the
- 47:19Speaker 5: door for anybody. It doesn't matter.
- 47:20Speaker 2: I'm at the racetrack this morning and there's a guy who, look,
- 47:24Speaker 2: I see the same people every morning at the racetrack
- 47:26Speaker 2: because I get the coffee at the same time. Who
- 47:27Speaker 2: else is there at like 4.30 in the morning? It's
- 47:29Speaker 2: a lot of construction workers, people getting ready to go out.
- 47:33Speaker 2: And every time I see them, I mean, they're covered
- 47:35Speaker 2: in dirt. They've got their vest on. I know they're
- 47:39Speaker 2: about to go out today or most days in the
- 47:41Speaker 2: summer here. They're going to have to deal with the
- 47:43Speaker 2: most insane heat. Right. What am I going to do?
- 47:45Speaker 2: I'm sitting in an air-conditioned studio right now. Do you
- 47:48Speaker 2: think it's going to take anything for me to hold
- 47:50Speaker 2: that door and go, dude, come on, let's go? I
- 47:52Speaker 2: got the door for you. You got a hard day
- 47:54Speaker 2: ahead of you. Yeah.
- 47:55Speaker 6: I know it's common courtesy, but people don't even know
- 47:57Speaker 6: how to say thank you no more. So, like, unless
- 47:59Speaker 6: a woman, if I'm on a plane, unless a woman goes,
- 48:02Speaker 6: can you get that for me? If she does that,
- 48:04Speaker 6: I'm not going to go, no. Of course I'll get
- 48:06Speaker 6: it for you. But if I just do it openly, no,
- 48:10Speaker 6: I'm not going to do it. I'm just be like, my, my, my,
- 48:12Speaker 6: my business, because all the times, my experience, all the
- 48:17Speaker 6: times when I try to go out of my way,
- 48:19Speaker 6: I get shunned or, Or looked at sideways.
- 48:22Speaker 2: So I'm like, no, I'm not going to help you.
- 48:25Speaker 2: That's weird to me. I've never held the door for somebody,
- 48:28Speaker 2: a woman. In this case, we're talking about a woman.
- 48:30Speaker 2: And a woman go, oh, no, I'm an independent woman.
- 48:34Speaker 2: I can do it myself.
- 48:35Speaker 5: Yeah, that's her own issue.
- 48:37Speaker 2: Yeah, what?
- 48:37Speaker 5: Don't change your ways because of her.
- 48:39Speaker 2: That's my point, boo. I'm not going to stop doing it.
- 48:41Speaker 2: Like if I would tell my son, sometimes people are
- 48:43Speaker 2: going to be rude. Sometimes people aren't going to say
- 48:46Speaker 2: thank you. That doesn't mean you should stop doing the
- 48:49Speaker 2: right thing.
- 48:50Speaker 5: Right.
- 48:50Speaker 2: You do the right thing all the time.
- 48:52Speaker 5: Don't turn cold because of that one interaction. Most of
- 48:55Speaker 5: us are like, thank you. Appreciate that. I had the
- 48:58Speaker 5: door for a man at FedEx the other day. Like
- 49:00Speaker 5: I waited for him because I saw him coming.
- 49:02Speaker 2: Did he do the awkward jog?
- 49:04Speaker 5: He was an older man. No, and he came up
- 49:06Speaker 5: to me after the fact and was like, thank you.
- 49:09Speaker 5: I could tell he was probably had some pain or
- 49:11Speaker 5: something going on. You know, like just be a human.
- 49:14Speaker 2: I'll see it on the way. Like the other day
- 49:16Speaker 2: I saw like a woman who I was slowing. I
- 49:19Speaker 2: was purposely going. slow, leaving the grocery store because I
- 49:23Speaker 2: knew she had all these groceries and I'm like, I
- 49:26Speaker 2: don't know where she parked, but if she parked by me,
- 49:27Speaker 2: I'm going to try to help her. Cause I feel bad.
- 49:29Speaker 2: So I was going super slow. Then I returned my car.
- 49:32Speaker 2: Then I saw her Then I'm like, oh, okay. I'm like,
- 49:34Speaker 2: do you need help unloading those? And she's like, well, honey,
- 49:37Speaker 2: that would be the sweetest thing. And guess what? It
- 49:41Speaker 2: took me two seconds. I'm still able to do it.
- 49:43Speaker 2: I hope when I'm old, somebody's doing it for me.
- 49:45Speaker 2: It's just a matter of being nice to me. So
- 49:49Speaker 2: I would just say, poo, try it again until you
- 49:52Speaker 2: get yelled at again. Because that was just one thing.
- 49:55Speaker 2: That had to be just one disgruntled person.
- 49:58Speaker 5: Having a bad day. She might have cramps. Who knows?
- 50:01Speaker 2: I mean, I get that.
- 50:01Speaker 6: But you say don't let one bad apple spoil it.
- 50:04Speaker 6: But what about women, on the other hand? They let
- 50:06Speaker 6: one bad man interaction.
- 50:08Speaker 5: It's not just one.
- 50:09Speaker 2: And now they're mad.
- 50:10Speaker 1: You see?
- 50:13Speaker 2: Let's be honest. Okay.
- 50:15Speaker 5: That's fair.
- 50:16Speaker 2: I love that you have a song this morning. So
- 50:18Speaker 2: thank you for that. It's Mix 102.9. My name is
- 50:20Speaker 2: Billy the Kid. That's Candace Lopez. Producer Pooh is here. Candice,
- 50:25Speaker 2: not a, I don't want to say a new haircut,
- 50:27Speaker 2: but definitely, like, you got some going on over there.
- 50:30Speaker 2: I like it.
- 50:30Speaker 5: Yeah, thanks for noticing. It's always weird when I get
- 50:32Speaker 5: a haircut because my hair is so long and I
- 50:34Speaker 5: just get a trim.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Right.
- 50:36Speaker 5: I don't know if people ever notice.
- 50:37Speaker 2: I did.
- 50:38Speaker 4: Oh, good. Who?
- 50:39Speaker 2: I did, Candace. Why didn't you say anything? Well, I
- 50:42Speaker 2: let you say it first.
- 50:43Speaker 1: See?
- 50:43Speaker 2: I ain't going to lie because I didn't want to
- 50:46Speaker 2: be wrong. I was like, does she style it different?
- 50:48Speaker 2: I didn't say anything because I was like, something's different. Yeah. Listen, fellas,
- 50:53Speaker 2: always err to the side of caution.
- 50:54Speaker 5: Right.
- 50:55Speaker 2: You know, if you think something has changed in a
- 50:58Speaker 2: woman in your life, whether it's your co-host.
- 51:01Speaker 4: Or your wife.
- 51:03Speaker 5: You're like, there's something.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Different with you.
- 51:04Speaker 5: Unless you think they gained weight, don't say anything.
- 51:07Speaker 2: No, I would not. No, don't say that.
- 51:08Speaker 5: I did get a haircut, though, so I'm feeling myself today.
- 51:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 51:12Speaker 5: You know that fresh haircut feel?
- 51:13Speaker 2: Oh, it's the best feel.
- 51:15Speaker 5: Yeah, it is.
- 51:15Speaker 2: Well, I haven't felt like that in a long time. Yeah.
- 51:18Speaker 2: I feel it. Or as my grandpa would say, did
- 51:20Speaker 2: you get your ears lowered?
- 51:21Speaker 5: Yeah, my grandparents used to say.
- 51:24Speaker 2: That, too. Yeah, it'd always be like, or he'd say,
- 51:27Speaker 2: my grandpa would say, I'd say, did you get your
- 51:29Speaker 2: hair cut? I got my hair cut. Just one? Yeah,
- 51:33Speaker 2: just one. Right. You know what I mean?
- 51:34Speaker 5: I love that.
- 51:35Speaker 2: Oh, by the way, I got something special I was
- 51:37Speaker 2: going to tell you guys about. What? Do you want
- 51:39Speaker 2: to get buried in a Pringles can?
- 51:40Speaker 4: No.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Oh, here we go.
- 51:42Speaker 4: What?
- 51:42Speaker 2: Here we go. Did you see this?
- 51:45Speaker 5: I did see this, and I chose not to talk
- 51:47Speaker 5: about it.
- 51:47Speaker 2: Candace, why are you so scared of death?
- 51:49Speaker 5: Billy, I'm not. I just want to talk about fun stuff.
- 51:52Speaker 5: That is fun. Like new haircuts, poop emoji, Halloween costumes,
- 51:55Speaker 5: things like that.
- 51:56Speaker 2: It's hysterical.
- 51:57Speaker 5: Well, let's talk about it.
- 51:58Speaker 2: I'm telling Candace. I'm telling Pooh. Anyway, Candace doesn't care.
- 52:01Speaker 2: This is what I'm going to do to Pooh.
- 52:03Speaker 6: What?
- 52:03Speaker 2: Actually, it's not going to be a Pringles can.
- 52:05Speaker 5: Tell them what it is.
- 52:05Speaker 2: Well, so Pringles is doing a contest. What's their phrase?
- 52:08Speaker 2: Their phrase is, once you pop, you can't stop. Yeah, exactly. Well,
- 52:12Speaker 2: this is once you drop, you can't stop. They're doing
- 52:16Speaker 2: a for real contest. You could sign up. Where is it?
- 52:19Speaker 2: I wrote it down. Once you drop dot com.
- 52:21Speaker 5: Shouldn't it be once you stop, you can't pop?
- 52:23Speaker 4: No.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Something. See, you do like it, Candace.
- 52:28Speaker 4: Okay, right.
- 52:29Speaker 2: Once you drop.com and you go sign up, and basically
- 52:31Speaker 2: it's a contest where you would win two lifetimes of Pringles,
- 52:37Speaker 2: a lifetime supply of Pringles once you drop. So basically
- 52:41Speaker 2: you're never getting the Pringles.
- 52:42Speaker 5: Oh, that's funny. Okay.
- 52:44Speaker 2: That's why it's funny. So you would get 200 years
- 52:47Speaker 2: worth of Pringles. Right. And then you would also get
- 52:49Speaker 2: a Pringles can urn.
- 52:50Speaker 4: Oh, boy.
- 52:51Speaker 2: Oh, wow. That you could sprinkle your ashes in. And
- 52:54Speaker 2: then do whatever you want with them. See, but I
- 52:56Speaker 2: know Boo, he would eat them. I don't know about
- 52:59Speaker 2: this new flavor of Pringles. Billy actually is salty. Something
- 53:05Speaker 2: tastes a little bit off.
- 53:06Speaker 5: Sour cream and what?
- 53:08Speaker 2: Sour cream and dead? What's going on over here? Okay,
- 53:14Speaker 2: so we were talking about this earlier, but I had
- 53:17Speaker 2: to tell you that, Candice.
- 53:18Speaker 5: Yeah, that's funny.
- 53:18Speaker 2: I know you were not going to go sign up.
- 53:20Speaker 3: No.
- 53:21Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 53:21Speaker 5: You know what I.
- 53:23Speaker 2: Didn't even realize until the other day? That Pringles aren't
- 53:25Speaker 2: even like potatoes.
- 53:27Speaker 5: What are they? What do you mean?
- 53:28Speaker 2: Exactly. Because I love Pringles. They're not potatoes with potatoes?
- 53:32Speaker 4: No.
- 53:32Speaker 5: I mean, why do you think Lay's now has to
- 53:34Speaker 5: say made with real potatoes? Because they weren't potato chips.
- 53:38Speaker 2: Well, I don't think these are either. I think it's
- 53:39Speaker 2: like a potato substitute.
- 53:41Speaker 5: At least not 100%. It's like half.
- 53:42Speaker 2: This is like a potato substitute or something Pringles are.
- 53:46Speaker 5: Don't ruin it for me. 42% dried potato flakes. Oh,
- 53:50Speaker 5: come on.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Brother, ew.
- 53:51Speaker 4: God.
- 53:52Speaker 2: Oh, I can't wait though. They're salt vinnies. I'll eat them.
- 53:55Speaker 5: They taste good though.
- 53:55Speaker 2: They do taste good. We were talking about this a
- 53:58Speaker 2: second ago about the flight attendant, the male flight attendant
- 54:01Speaker 2: who wouldn't, you know, put the pregnant woman's luggage in
- 54:04Speaker 2: the overhead compartment and fairness to him. Fairness to him.
- 54:07Speaker 2: They're saying the flight, the whatever airline it was, has
- 54:11Speaker 2: a policy not to do that.
- 54:13Speaker 4: Right.
- 54:13Speaker 5: You don't want to lose your job right now in
- 54:14Speaker 5: this economy.
- 54:15Speaker 2: But I was just talking about breaking the rules in general.
- 54:17Speaker 2: I would have broken the rule. I would have lost
- 54:19Speaker 2: my job. And I just feel like so many people
- 54:21Speaker 2: nowadays were just so whatever, like some who doesn't want
- 54:24Speaker 2: to hold doors. You know, he doesn't want to do anything.
- 54:26Speaker 2: He's scared that the woman's. going to think that he's
- 54:29Speaker 2: trying to hit on her. Yeah, exactly. And I'm like,
- 54:31Speaker 2: what happened to being nice? James, though, James on the phone. James,
- 54:33Speaker 2: you said what now?
- 54:34Speaker 8: It's like, I don't.
- 54:35Speaker 5: Know what's going on with society these days, but it's
- 54:38Speaker 5: like no one wants to help anyone these days.
- 54:41Speaker 2: Yes, I agree. And I don't know what it is.
- 54:44Speaker 2: It's like everybody is so in their own world, face
- 54:47Speaker 2: down on their screens. We've forgotten to be human.
- 54:50Speaker 4: Right.
- 54:50Speaker 5: We're on autopilot.
- 54:51Speaker 2: Yes, sir. I can tell you were in the military, James.
- 54:54Speaker 2: Thank you for your service. Yes, sir.
- 54:56Speaker 1: And I'll tell you this.
- 54:59Speaker 6: Soldiers, if they're not trying to help other soldiers, there
- 55:03Speaker 6: will be some consequences.
- 55:05Speaker 1: And it requires a lot of exercise.
- 55:08Speaker 7: And that's what the sergeants do to the soldiers to
- 55:11Speaker 7: make them want to help someone.
- 55:13Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. I remember them days. Yeah, see, Pooh
- 55:16Speaker 2: was in the military. I don't know what happened, though.
- 55:18Speaker 2: Pooh was a gravy seal. You know, he served. He served.
- 55:27Speaker 2: I mean, he was what you were in the Big
- 55:29Speaker 2: Back Brigade. Yeah. I will say, though, thank you, James.
- 55:36Speaker 2: I will say if there's like one odd regret that
- 55:40Speaker 2: I have in my life, I think about this a lot.
- 55:43Speaker 2: I kind of wish I would have went to the
- 55:44Speaker 2: military when I was younger.
- 55:45Speaker 5: Oh, wow.
- 55:46Speaker 2: Really? Really? Yes, I kind of did. But I was already, like,
- 55:48Speaker 2: doing my career and things. But sometimes I wish I
- 55:51Speaker 2: could have, like, served my country and done something. I mean,
- 55:55Speaker 2: I feel like I would have looked back at it
- 55:57Speaker 2: and go, like, you know what?
- 55:58Speaker 6: I'm glad I did that. I'm glad I did that
- 56:00Speaker 6: four years. I'm kind of glad. No, but I got voluntold. Remember,
- 56:05Speaker 6: I got in trouble in college, and my lawyer said, hey. Well,
- 56:09Speaker 6: that's the difference. I just signed you up.
- 56:10Speaker 2: I was like, huh? Yeah.
- 56:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 56:13Speaker 2: Yeah. It's so weird to think of poo in the military.
- 56:15Speaker 2: I know. The discipline factor. Yeah. Like, you didn't get
- 56:18Speaker 2: kicked out, like, because of your feet?
- 56:21Speaker 1: What?
- 56:22Speaker 4: No.
- 56:22Speaker 2: I'm just saying. I thought it was true that you
- 56:25Speaker 2: would get kicked out if you're flat-footed in the military. No, no, no.
- 56:28Speaker 2: Didn't people avoid the giraffe back in the day because
- 56:30Speaker 2: it was flat-footed? I actually had abs back then. I
- 56:33Speaker 2: was like 170, bruh. You had what? Abs.
- 56:36Speaker 4: Abs.
- 56:37Speaker 2: Look, you can see my abs. Look at Candace's face. Oh,
- 56:40Speaker 2: it's just funny.
- 56:40Speaker 5: To hear you say, I believe you.
- 56:42Speaker 2: I really did. I believe you. Back then I did.
- 56:44Speaker 2: Not now. Candace just kicked me.
- 56:46Speaker 5: I can't say that.
- 56:47Speaker 2: Candace just kicked me under the counter.
- 56:56Speaker 3: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 56:58Speaker 3: Kid in the Morning.
- 56:59Speaker 4: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 57:01Speaker 5: Candace Lopez, what.
- 57:04Speaker 2: Is going on?
- 57:04Speaker 5: Well, I'm such a tech nerd, I'm into this. But
- 57:06Speaker 5: Apple is getting more into the smart home trend with
- 57:09Speaker 5: their first smart home display hub. It's called Home View.
- 57:12Speaker 5: So this is basically a 7-inch display. It's designed to
- 57:16Speaker 5: compete with Amazon's Echo Show and Google's Nest Hub. If
- 57:20Speaker 5: you have one of these in your house, you're probably
- 57:21Speaker 5: relying on it for things like recipes. Music, that's what
- 57:25Speaker 5: this will do. Yeah, $ 299. That's the price point. It
- 57:28Speaker 5: can sit on a table or mount on a wall.
- 57:30Speaker 5: You can actually FaceTime on it, which is cool. Oh, see,
- 57:32Speaker 5: I want to do this.
- 57:33Speaker 2: I want this. I don't want to mount it on
- 57:34Speaker 2: the wall, but I know I'm not going to mount
- 57:36Speaker 2: it on the wall because if I do mount it
- 57:37Speaker 2: on the wall, it's going to be crooked. Then I'm
- 57:38Speaker 2: going to be annoyed because my OCD is going to
- 57:40Speaker 2: kick in.
- 57:41Speaker 5: Right.
- 57:41Speaker 2: I'm already thinking about stuff that I'm mad about, Candace. Right.
- 57:44Speaker 5: Well, I've been thinking about, you know, Enzo getting a
- 57:46Speaker 5: phone to like call his cousin or like FaceTime his
- 57:49Speaker 5: cousin only because he uses my phone for it so much.
- 57:51Speaker 5: But now I'm like, could he just go to this
- 57:52Speaker 5: and FaceTime her from there? And then he's got to
- 57:54Speaker 5: stand there and talk on the phone. It's kind of fun.
- 57:57Speaker 2: With a cord, too. Is it 1980?
- 57:58Speaker 4: Right.
- 57:59Speaker 2: Stand in the kitchen i.
- 58:01Speaker 5: Know pre-orders have started by the way it's going to
- 58:03Speaker 5: be out november 13th uh guys obviously you look at
- 58:07Speaker 5: a lot of factors when buying a new home but
- 58:09Speaker 5: a new report says in addition to asking if the
- 58:11Speaker 5: schools are good if the neighborhood is safe and how
- 58:13Speaker 5: long your work commute could be people are now asking
- 58:17Speaker 5: if there is a costco nearby oh and that's a
- 58:20Speaker 5: huge factor i.
- 58:21Speaker 2: Haven't been to a costco like in a long time
- 58:23Speaker 2: i don't go to costco though because there's no reason
- 58:25Speaker 2: to shop in bulk Right. What do I need, like,
- 58:28Speaker 2: you know, 700 ramen noodles for?
- 58:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:31Speaker 5: Get them glizzies. That's true.
- 58:34Speaker 2: Can we, I mean, really, is the hot dog that
- 58:37Speaker 2: good at Costco? Yeah, and a slice of pizza and
- 58:39Speaker 2: a Coke. It's just the fact that it's $ 1. 50. Right.
- 58:42Speaker 2: That's what it is.
- 58:43Speaker 5: You can't get anything for $ 1.
- 58:44Speaker 4: 50. No.
- 58:46Speaker 2: You can't. Well, yeah, sure you can. You can get
- 58:47Speaker 2: stuff for $ 1.
- 58:48Speaker 4: 50.
- 58:48Speaker 5: But if you got, like, four kids, roll up through there, $ 10.
- 58:51Speaker 2: Or you just go to the store and get a
- 58:52Speaker 2: pack of hot dogs. Nah.
- 58:54Speaker 5: Nobody has time for that.
- 58:55Speaker 2: They don't hit the same. I'm telling you. They hit
- 58:58Speaker 2: the same for me. I love hot dogs. I love glizzies.
- 59:00Speaker 5: Well, speaking of Costco, guys, people are now paying $ 1, 000
- 59:03Speaker 5: or so to install a Costco door, which is basically
- 59:06Speaker 5: a small opening between the garage and the store. and pantry.
- 59:11Speaker 5: So you can just slide your giant bulk items straight
- 59:13Speaker 5: into your house.
- 59:14Speaker 2: I'm trying to figure out if that's genius or if
- 59:16Speaker 2: it's the laziest thing ever, because a little bit of both,
- 59:18Speaker 2: you know, you have a garage door. Right.
- 59:21Speaker 4: Right.
- 59:21Speaker 2: My garage door happens to be close to my pantry,
- 59:24Speaker 2: I guess. So I wouldn't need the Costco door.
- 59:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 59:26Speaker 2: But I guess if your garage is somewhere where not
- 59:28Speaker 2: near the kitchen, but aren't usually garages near the kitchen.
- 59:31Speaker 5: Kind of. This would totally work in my house, like
- 59:33Speaker 5: straight to the pantry. But if you go through the house,
- 59:36Speaker 5: I mean, you have to walk around, go through the kitchen.
- 59:38Speaker 5: You know, it's like a whole thing.
- 59:39Speaker 2: So your perfect husband, Eric, already text me and said,
- 59:42Speaker 2: you talked about this earlier. So he already built one
- 59:44Speaker 2: for you.
- 59:45Speaker 5: I'm sure he's sawing in there right.
- 59:46Speaker 2: Now, sanding it down, priming it. He's like, you know what?
- 59:49Speaker 2: I heard Candace mention it, so I just went and
- 59:51Speaker 2: built one for her.
- 59:51Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh.
- 59:52Speaker 2: Because she gets whatever she wants. We have a perfect lawn.
- 59:54Speaker 2: We have a Costco door.
- 59:55Speaker 5: No, no.
- 59:56Speaker 2: Yeah, whatever you want, you get, Candace.
- 59:57Speaker 5: He might do it, though. We'll see.
- 59:59Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:00:00Speaker 5: Guys, Hilary Swank is expecting her third child at the
- 1:00:02Speaker 5: age of 52. She posted an Instagram video with their
- 1:00:06Speaker 5: three-year-old twins. They're all kind of dancing in the dark
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: with these glow sticks, and then you see her kind
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: of show up with a glowing baby on her stomach.
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: She says the baby is due in December. She's even
- 1:00:17Speaker 5: talked before about becoming a mom later in life, saying
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: her established career has allowed her more flexibility and time
- 1:00:24Speaker 5: to focus on raising her kids. And this is the
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: new trend. The number of women giving birth at age
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: 40 or older has now surpassed the number of teens
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: having babies for the first time.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:00:35Speaker 5: Yeah, it's big.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: I think also another factor is, too, is when you're younger,
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: it's expensive. Yeah. You almost have to wait because everybody
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: needs the money so bad. You're like, I can't even
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: afford to have kids.
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: Yeah, no, you're absolutely right. I mean, Natalie Portman had
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: her third at 45. Anne Hathaway is now pregnant with
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: her third baby at 43. And then Janet Jackson had
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: a baby at age 50.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: Did she really?
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Why don't I remember that?
- 1:00:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I think it was 2017. But yeah, that's a
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: new trend.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: Can you imagine if you're Hilary Swank, you got three-year-old twins...
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: At 52. And now you're about to have another baby. Right.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: I couldn't do it. I'm in my 40s and I
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: couldn't do it.
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: Oh, I'm exhausted right now.
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: Yeah, for sure.
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: I mean, Poo, would you ever have more kids or not?
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: No.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: Are you sure?
- 1:01:18Speaker 6: No.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: Like, what if... I'd adopt a teenager. I ain't trying to...
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: That's the last thing I would do. That'd be fun.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: I ain't trying to change no diapers. I ain't doing
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: none of that again. Well, that's what I'm thinking about. Like,
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: I got to go through all this again?
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a lot.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: But, I mean, what if, like, your ex comes back
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: to you because she's younger... Wow. Wow. What do you mean?
- 1:01:38Speaker 5: She wants a fourth?
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: Yeah. Wait, does she have four kids? No, you're talking
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: about baby mama. He's talking about space girl.
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: Oh, space girl?
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, baby mama too. No. I still think you
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: guys should be together.
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: I wish.
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: I wish y'all would get back together. I don't even
- 1:01:54Speaker 5: know her.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: Well, they weren't together for a long time, but they
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: just kept having kids together. And I like that.
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: Yeah, it's consistency.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: It's consistent. It's good. Just get back with it.
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: Have one more.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: Have two more. If Space Girl wanted it, anybody. No,
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: I'm not doing it.
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: No.
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: With Baby Mama or Space Girl? Nobody.
- 1:02:12Speaker 6: I'm not having any more kids, period. And I'm not
- 1:02:14Speaker 6: getting back with them, so we don't have to worry
- 1:02:16Speaker 6: about that.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: You got a new boo. He's got a new boo
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: in his life.
- 1:02:20Speaker 5: Let's focus on that.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Are you set up a dinner time yet with
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: the new boo that you dated?
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: No, not yet. No?
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: Working on it, though.
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: Do it, do it.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: I mean, what are you waiting for? I'm just trying
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: to figure out where I'm going to take her.
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: It's Thursday.
- 1:02:31Speaker 6: Yeah, I know, but I don't want to take her
- 1:02:33Speaker 6: to some place where I've already taken somebody else.
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:02:37Speaker 5: That's awesome, Pooh.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm trying to be unique. I'm trying to be unique.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: Where are you going to go? Because I could go
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: to my go-to's. Where's your go-to's? Chili's? Applebee's?
- 1:02:47Speaker 6: No, no.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: Chipotle? Like, if I'm trying to impress, you know I
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: always go to Monarch, but I'm not doing all that now.
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: Don't go to Monarch.
- 1:02:54Speaker 5: I'm trying to be regular now.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: Regular shmegular. Plus, I don't want to hear you complain
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: for two weeks that you can't afford anything. That's true.
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:03:02Speaker 5: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas top stories. The
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: new Mix 102.9. It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the
- 1:03:10Speaker 5: Kid in the Morning on Mix 102.9. Brought to you
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: by Mint Dentistry.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: It is time to confess. What's that secret? All right.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: It's Billy the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh. You'll feel better,
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: especially with these temperatures about to drop. I don't know
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: what that has to do with it. But bottom line is,
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: I think you'll feel better if you confess.
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: More better.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: Yeah, more better. Mo' better. Mo' better. Mo' better.
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: 833-787-1029.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: Confess. You got a secret.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Okay, so I have a secret about my ex-boyfriend. And
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: I know it makes me sound a little crazy. But honestly,
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: I think it's hilarious. Okay.
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: Well, I like crazy anyway, so that's fine. She's got
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: a little evil laugh. Yeah, the evil little laugh there, too. Good.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: So what are you doing? What's the secret?
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: We broke up a couple months ago, and we were
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: together for like two years, okay?
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: So we lived together for the last year, which, by
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: the way, is when everything started falling apart. OK, so
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: I'm not going to say he he wasn't the worst boyfriend,
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: but he definitely wasn't the best either.
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: You know, I.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: I never caught him cheating, but always suspected something. And
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: then I I know he really moved on fast after
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: we broke up.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: Oh, which which leads you to believe he was. See,
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: when somebody moves on too fast, that does lead me
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: to believe that they were cheating.
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: So, okay. But you don't know that he was for sure.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: I don't know if when we were together, but I feel,
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: you know, here's the thing.
- 1:04:38Speaker 8: The reason I know that he moved on.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: Is because, well, I still have access to all the
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: security cameras at the house.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: Yes. You have access to it right now? Like, even
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: though you don't live there anymore, you can see everything?
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: Right now. I'm talking the ring camera at the front door,
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: the backyard camera.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: Psycho.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: There's a camera in his living room. Wait, not only that,
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: I still have access to his smart refrigerator, thermostat.
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: Psycho.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: And every single light in the house. And I'm the
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: one that set everything up because when we live together,
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: he's just too technologically clueless to figure out how to
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: remove me.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: So he doesn't even he hasn't even thought that that
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: you can have access to this stuff. That's so what
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: a dummy.
- 1:05:25Speaker 7: I mean, not even you.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: And last week, literally the week after we broke up,
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: I got an alert on my phone that some girl
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: was showing up at the front door. And I was like, see.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: That sucks, though. That's awful. So that's not cool to
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: see me off. Right. Yeah, absolutely. So what are you doing?
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: Are you doing anything with this or are you just
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: kind of having fun with it?
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: I don't sit around watching him anymore, but. I do
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: have fun messing with him, okay? Sometimes in the middle
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: of the night, I'll like turn the lights on really bright.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: And then I watch him walk around all confused. And like,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: I'll leave lights on when he's at work and, you know,
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: run up his bill. And this is one of my favorites,
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: is I turn the AC up to like 85, 90.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: And so when he gets home from work, it's hot.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: Oh my God, that is so petty. So petty.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: It's those little petty things that make me feel better.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: I can't help it. He's a little older than me.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: And like we were talking about, he's terrible with technology.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: So he has no idea, I don't think.
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: So you turn on the lights. So you turn the
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: lights on and confuse them at night. You turn the AC.
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: And you leave the lights on all day. So it
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: runs up his bill. That's funny. I can't help but laugh.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: It could be worse.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: Here's the best part. You know it's coming up. Halloween
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: is coming up and I'm already thinking.
- 1:06:55Speaker 8: About how I'm going to make it make the house.
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: That is hysterical. But I know this happened to a
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: friend of mine, too. So my friend, they broke up.
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: And when they broke up, he had some other girl
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: come over and his ex-girlfriend showed up. It's because she
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: still had access to the ring doorbell camera.
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: And she's like, oh, really? You're this fast, huh? This fast. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: I mean, it happened. You even have access to his refrigerator? Yeah, boo.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: Everything.
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: Is there a camera?
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: Yeah. There's a camera in the refrigerator? There's a camera
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: in mine.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: There is?
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: I can access the camera.
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: Yeah, everywhere.
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: Is that like that Samsung thing?
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:07:35Speaker 5: Ah, so you can update your grocery list?
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and I can see what's going on in my house.
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: Got a camera in and out, so.
- 1:07:40Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: You know what?
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: Be petty. Who cares? Life's short. Be petty. You're not
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: doing anything crazy. I wouldn't want to watch, though. I'd
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: be a little bit weirded out if I was watching
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: his cameras. Yeah, for real. But turn it on and
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: off the lights. Oh, well. Why not?
- 1:07:55Speaker 5: That's funny.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: I used to do it when I was a kid.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: I would take a remote control, a universal remote control,
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: and go to people's windows and turn the channels on
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: the TV. Oh, you're... No.
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: Yeah. I love it.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: Hoodrat Billy would do that.
- 1:08:08Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: That's funny.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: Anywhere.
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, thank you for your secret, and enjoy the pettiness,
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: and happy early Halloween. Good for you. Happy Halloween.
- 1:08:18Speaker 8: Thanks for the validation.
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: We're about to get out of here. It's Mix 102.9.
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: Ability Kid, Candice Lopez, Producer Pooh, thank you for listening
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: to us, for putting up with us, for being a
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: part of our dysfunctional family. We love you for that.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: Make sure you listen at 4 in the afternoon with
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: Zan because she's got another spot. If you want to
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: come to our Smashing Pumpkins thing on Saturday, which we're
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: doing at Thrillvania, it's going to be fun because, well,
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: Thrillvania is awesome in general. Then we'll be out there.
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: You can reserve your spot, smash a pumpkin. And in
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: these pumpkins are prizes. So you might get Hilary Duff tickets.
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: You might get a date with Pooh. Oh, is that
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: in there? Yeah. That's fun.
- 1:08:54Speaker 5: He can escort you through.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: Yes, exactly. There's Jonas Brothers. tickets. There's gift cards, gas cards,
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: grocery cards. There's a ton of stuff. So we're going
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: to do that, but you've got to win your spot.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: So do it with Zan, 4 o'clock. And then I
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: think we're going to go through the You know, one
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: of the haunted houses together. Thrillvania is insane. It's like
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: a theme park.
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: It's fun.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: It is so much fun. So especially this time of
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: the year and Saturday, it's going to be that perfect
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: weather for it.
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: Crispy.
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: Crispy 67. Sunny at night, a little chilly. So if
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: it's a date night, you snuggle up with your boo.
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: There you go.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? I don't know why we're
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: talking like that. Candace, what do you got going on today?
- 1:09:29Speaker 5: Well, speaking of pumpkins, I need to go double check
- 1:09:31Speaker 5: my closet and make sure I still have my pumpkin
- 1:09:32Speaker 5: costume for Halloween. I was thinking about it on the
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: way to work.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: I don't know why. You're still going to pull that out?
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: I thought you were tired.
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: Maybe I'll wear it on Saturday.
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: Oh, musty pumpkin.
- 1:09:41Speaker 5: It is probably a little musty. I need to get
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: it drag clean.
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: I mean, listen, Candace has been wearing that since I
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: was on Kiss FM.
- 1:09:50Speaker 5: No, my mom gave it to me like three years ago.
- 1:09:53Speaker 5: Good Lord. It's seen two Halloweens.
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: Two Halloweens? It's 200. Two decades.
- 1:09:59Speaker 5: I don't know who wore it before me.
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: Wait, that's used?
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: No, I don't know where it came from.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: Ooh, I didn't know you were wearing it.
- 1:10:06Speaker 5: No, my mom wore it.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: Oh, okay. That's cool.
- 1:10:09Speaker 5: Yeah, my mom wore it.
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: It's cute. Good. God, I hope it's there.
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: I'll let you know.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: Eric, if you're listening, go throw it away.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:10:19Speaker 6: Pooh, what are you doing today? I'm going to my
- 1:10:20Speaker 6: 14-year-old Brenda's football game.
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: I got a football game, too.
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: Nice.
- 1:10:24Speaker 5: Aw, good luck to the boys.
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: Is it supposed to be chilly tonight?
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: The cold front's coming through around sunset, so it'll probably
- 1:10:30Speaker 5: start to get windy.
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: What time is Ryder's game? Seven o'clock. Okay. Yeah, but
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: Brenda's game is at seven, too. Somewhere in Arlington, too. Oh, okay.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: I don't know what's going on, so I got to
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: figure that out. I probably won't get home till midnight.
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: I might as well stay up. Might as well stay
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: up and get checked. Whatever. All right. Do you know
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: when sunset is, Meteorologist Lopez?
- 1:10:47Speaker 5: I don't know. I'm going to say around 7.50.
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: Oh, let's see if she's right.
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: No, it's earlier than that. I'd say it's 7.00.
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: 6.55.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: 6.55 sunset. Okay, thank you.
- 1:10:56Speaker 5: Perfect.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: Just Candace Lopez being my personal meteorologist.
- 1:10:59Speaker 6: Yeah, I got you.
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: We'll see you tomorrow. Have a great day. And don't forget,
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: tomorrow it's Friday. That means the Wheel of Misfortune. Oh, man. Yep,
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: I know. I can't wait because I have a feeling
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: I won't lose twice in a row. I didn't even
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: lose last week.
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: No, you didn't.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: Candace set me up.
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: I just got lucky on the wheel.
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. We'll see if that happens again tomorrow. Either way,
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: have a great day. Bye.
