- 0:00Speaker 1: Here's more of the Mark Simon Show on WR. Well,
- 0:08Speaker 1: we've got a lot to get through this area. It's
- 0:10Speaker 1: Veterans Day, Happy Veterans Day, and we salute all of
- 0:13Speaker 1: our veterans. The parade will begin at twelve thirty. Just
- 0:17Speaker 1: remember that if you're trying to get around Manhattan. The
- 0:19Speaker 1: parade starts at Fifth Avenue about twenty fifth Street, goes
- 0:23Speaker 1: up to about forty fifth Street, so it starts at
- 0:27Speaker 1: twelve thirty. It'll go about three thirty four o'clock. It's
- 0:30Speaker 1: a Veterans Day. Also, the first snow fell this morning
- 0:35Speaker 1: in New York City, just a couple of flakes here
- 0:37Speaker 1: and there. It didn't stick, obviously, but if you're watching
- 0:41Speaker 1: early morning TV, they had reporters out there showing you
- 0:43Speaker 1: these little flakes of snow. They described it as dandriff like,
- 0:48Speaker 1: just a few little white spots here and there, but
- 0:51Speaker 1: it did not stick. We probably will not get a
- 0:54Speaker 1: lot of snow this winter because the Farmer's Almanac predicted
- 0:58Speaker 1: very cold winter with heavy snow. And remember Farmer's Almanac
- 1:01Speaker 1: is wrong like ninety percent of the time, so that's
- 1:05Speaker 1: good news. The Democrats, they're kind of in a shambles.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Right now, after this shutdown cave in, they're calling for
- 1:16Speaker 1: Schumer to step down. You know, his term is up
- 1:21Speaker 1: pretty soon and somebody's going to run against him. But
- 1:25Speaker 1: word is from the Schumer camp, inside the Schumer camp,
- 1:29Speaker 1: he's not going to run again. He will he will
- 1:31Speaker 1: step down. He will probably finish his term, but he'll
- 1:34Speaker 1: announce he's not going to seek reelection. Now that's not
- 1:37Speaker 1: enough for these crazy, angry Democrats. They want him out now,
- 1:41Speaker 1: they want him to step down. But he thinks if
- 1:46Speaker 1: he just announces he won't seek reelection, that that'll shut
- 1:49Speaker 1: down that step down talk, that that'll quiet him down,
- 1:52Speaker 1: keep him happy. I don't know if he were to
- 1:54Speaker 1: step down, Kathy Hochel would appoint a new senator finish
- 2:00Speaker 1: out the term. I don't think anybody wants Kathy Hochel
- 2:02Speaker 1: picking anybody. Fetterman, who's the only honest Democrat out there.
- 2:08Speaker 1: He's like the Bill Clinton of Democrats in it. Back then,
- 2:13Speaker 1: same thing was going on in the Democratic Party. The
- 2:16Speaker 1: crazy left had taken over. The extremists were running the party,
- 2:20Speaker 1: and then Bill Clinton rose up. Is this moderate, common
- 2:24Speaker 1: sense sort of Democrat to lead them back to the
- 2:27Speaker 1: middle of the road where they could win again. Fetterman
- 2:30Speaker 1: trying to be that. But Fetterman last night he was
- 2:33Speaker 1: Unhannity and thanks to Sean Hannedy who gave me a
- 2:36Speaker 1: couple of nice plugs last night on his show. But
- 2:40Speaker 1: Fetterman was on, and Fetterman just came right out and
- 2:46Speaker 1: said it. The Democratic Party has no leader. There's nobody
- 2:49Speaker 1: in charge. It's just that old inmates running the asylum
- 2:52Speaker 1: kind of situation. Nobody's in charge, there's no leader. Now, normally,
- 2:57Speaker 1: if you're the Senate leader Schumer, you might be the leader.
- 3:01Speaker 1: But he's again an outcast right now. They want him gone.
- 3:05Speaker 1: They don't even want him to finish this term. They
- 3:06Speaker 1: want him to step down now. Hakeem Jefferies House leader
- 3:13Speaker 1: might be the leader, but he just talks like a robot.
- 3:16Speaker 1: He just talks like this all the time. He's just
- 3:18Speaker 1: something's wrong with the guy. He's very robotic. And I
- 3:20Speaker 1: don't have much to say about those individuals. And they're
- 3:23Speaker 1: going to have to explain themselves to their constituents and
- 3:26Speaker 1: to the American people, I certainly, and he you know,
- 3:30Speaker 1: and Trump does those wonderful AI memes with the sombrero
- 3:34Speaker 1: on him and the Mexican music, and it works because
- 3:36Speaker 1: he's such a stiff. So he's no leader. Who's the
- 3:39Speaker 1: leader of the party now as far as twenty twenty eight,
- 3:43Speaker 1: who's the candidate? Well, it looks like Newsom's in the
- 3:47Speaker 1: lead right now, but he's no leader. He's more of
- 3:50Speaker 1: a he's just sort of a slick, fast talker. He's
- 3:53Speaker 1: like a fancy, fancy, upscale mom. Donnie may be the
- 3:59Speaker 1: lead eight right now, but he's no leader. Normally the
- 4:03Speaker 1: vice president would be the leader Mon Dale at the time,
- 4:07Speaker 1: or Al Gore or whoever. But Kamala Harris just a goofball.
- 4:11Speaker 1: She's certainly not the leader. So it's just rudderless right now.
- 4:14Speaker 1: And that's why the crazy crazy left is running around
- 4:18Speaker 1: trying to take control of the party. Hey, speaking of
- 4:20Speaker 1: crazy left, Jimmy Kimmel, all right, we all know he's
- 4:24Speaker 1: a crazy left winger, but we didn't really know about
- 4:28Speaker 1: Kimmel's wife till they did this podcast. And I had
- 4:31Speaker 1: no idea that Jimmy Kimmel's wife name is Molly McNerney, McNerney,
- 4:39Speaker 1: whatever her name is. I didn't know this. She's the
- 4:42Speaker 1: head writer of the show and she's the executive producer
- 4:44Speaker 1: of the show. Well, that explains a lot. You know,
- 4:50Speaker 1: it's very, very tough to work with your wife. It's
- 4:52Speaker 1: really tough to work with your wife. It's not easy
- 4:55Speaker 1: to do. And it's really tough if your wife runs
- 4:59Speaker 1: your s show, if she's the executive producer, she's the
- 5:02Speaker 1: head writer. You go back to very early David Letterman.
- 5:05Speaker 1: He was living. Girlfriend was Meryl what was the named
- 5:09Speaker 1: Meryl Marko. She was the head writer, but there was
- 5:13Speaker 1: someone else running things, an executive producer. So his wife
- 5:16Speaker 1: is the head writer and the executive producer, and she's
- 5:18Speaker 1: these are two completely nutty Trump to arrangement syndrome lunatics,
- 5:24Speaker 1: Kimmel and his wife. So on the podcast, she reveals
- 5:28Speaker 1: that there are many people in their family. They got
- 5:31Speaker 1: a big family, aunts, uncles, relatives, nieces, all sorts of stuff.
- 5:35Speaker 1: In laws. Some of them are Trump supporters and some
- 5:38Speaker 1: of them voted for Trump. So she says that she
- 5:40Speaker 1: got no big fight with all the family. She sent
- 5:43Speaker 1: them many many emails right before the election. I'm begging you,
- 5:48Speaker 1: begging you not to vote for him. And she sent
- 5:51Speaker 1: an email to everybody, here's ten reasons not to vote
- 5:54Speaker 1: for this guy, please don't. And she was very upset.
- 5:57Speaker 1: She said, I got ignored by ninety percent of them.
- 6:01Speaker 1: I got truly insane responses from a few. But this
- 6:06Speaker 1: is the problem with these trumped arrangements syndrome lunatics. They
- 6:08Speaker 1: don't realize they're the ones. They're the ones that are
- 6:12Speaker 1: completely insane. It's insane hatred of Trump. If you don't
- 6:16Speaker 1: like them, don't vote for him, but don't worry about it.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I don't like Chuck Schumer, but I don't run around
- 6:24Speaker 1: yelling and screaming about it. And I don't get no
- 6:27Speaker 1: fight with somebody that's voting for him. Who cares? I mean,
- 6:30Speaker 1: this Trump derangement syndrome is insane. And the idea of
- 6:34Speaker 1: this woman that she'll tell you who to vote for.
- 6:37Speaker 1: You must listen to her. You cannot do what you want.
- 6:40Speaker 1: And then she goes ah. And it hurts me so
- 6:42Speaker 1: much because of the personal relationships I don't have, where
- 6:45Speaker 1: my husband is out there fighting this man. He is
- 6:48Speaker 1: fighting this man. It's supposed to be a late night show.
- 6:51Speaker 1: He's supposed to be a comedian. You're supposed to come
- 6:53Speaker 1: out and make people laugh and make jokes. You're not
- 6:55Speaker 1: there to fight this man. He's fighting this man into me.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Voting for Trump is not voting for my husband, not
- 7:05Speaker 1: voting for me and our family. And unfortunately I've kind
- 7:09Speaker 1: of lost relationships with people in my family because of it.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Well you really, if the family is listening, take this
- 7:16Speaker 1: woman to a mental institution, get power of attorney for her,
- 7:21Speaker 1: get her in a straight jacket. That's insane. You know,
- 7:26Speaker 1: if I run into crazy left wing MSNBC host, we're
- 7:33Speaker 1: very cordial. Hey, how are you? How's it going. You know,
- 7:36Speaker 1: I don't start yelling and screaming at them. And you
- 7:40Speaker 1: may not know this, but off the air they don't
- 7:41Speaker 1: start yelling and screaming either. It's actually pretty friendly off
- 7:44Speaker 1: the air affect. A lot of them aren't that left wing.
- 7:49Speaker 1: They just pretend to be on TV. But again, if
- 7:53Speaker 1: somebody hates Trump, good knock yourself out. But I have
- 7:58Speaker 1: to sit there and argue with them all day. Speaking
- 8:01Speaker 1: of MSNBC, what's today, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and then
- 8:07Speaker 1: that's it. After today, there's only three more days of
- 8:10Speaker 1: MSNBC and then it's gone. It becomes ms now. It'll
- 8:16Speaker 1: be a whole new network. Now it'll look the same,
- 8:18Speaker 1: it'll have the same anchors and all this, but they're
- 8:20Speaker 1: moving to a cheaper, junkier studio, a little cheap, smaller studio.
- 8:24Speaker 1: They're gonna lose the logo, the MSNBC name. They're gonna
- 8:28Speaker 1: call it MS now. And they also lose NBC News.
- 8:33Speaker 1: They won't have those an those reporters to go to
- 8:36Speaker 1: and those correspondents in the field. But you can make
- 8:39Speaker 1: a deal with a network too, you know, I think
- 8:42Speaker 1: we do that. We have NBC News and ABC News.
- 8:45Speaker 1: You can make a deal to use their resources and
- 8:47Speaker 1: their you know, their correspondence. So they'll probably do that,
- 8:53Speaker 1: but they will no longer be associated with NBC. They've
- 8:56Speaker 1: been tossed out a Rockefeller Center. They will op right
- 9:00Speaker 1: out of this little studio in Times Square forty third
- 9:03Speaker 1: Street while they look for permanent headquarters. But we'll see
- 9:07Speaker 1: they're very worried about you know, it could be a problem,
- 9:10Speaker 1: you saying, well, it's going to be the same people,
- 9:12Speaker 1: just different name, different logo, different You never know. Sometimes
- 9:16Speaker 1: you do a little thing like change the logo and
- 9:18Speaker 1: it screws up the whole thing. Look at Cracker Barely.
- 9:21Speaker 1: They just changed the logo and all hell broke loose
- 9:23Speaker 1: and the stock dropped in half and people stop going.
- 9:26Speaker 1: You never know, changing the logo, rebranding. It can be very,
- 9:31Speaker 1: very very tricky. Speaking of Rockefeller Center, the Christmas tree
- 9:35Speaker 1: is there, it's up, it's covered with scaffolding right now
- 9:38Speaker 1: as they put all the lights on and all that stuff.
- 9:42Speaker 1: There are people that say they start Christmas too early
- 9:46Speaker 1: every year, you know, like it's almost like not even Halloween,
- 9:49Speaker 1: and they're selling Christmas stuff in the stores. And you're
- 9:53Speaker 1: over there up on top of Radio City. They got
- 9:55Speaker 1: the Christmas tree up already on the marquee, that Christmas
- 9:58Speaker 1: tree that lights up above it. So there's one complex
- 10:03Speaker 1: down in Florida, bellfour Betty Communities. This is like an
- 10:08Speaker 1: old older folks community down in Florida. And you know
- 10:12Speaker 1: these condo communities, these kind of places. They make these
- 10:16Speaker 1: regulations and they can be a little strict. But some
- 10:19Speaker 1: people were putting up Christmas lights early, and this community
- 10:23Speaker 1: sent a message to everybody, no Christmas decorations are allowed yet,
- 10:27Speaker 1: you have to wait till after Thanksgiving. You have to
- 10:30Speaker 1: wait till the Christmas season begins. I don't know. That
- 10:33Speaker 1: may not be a bad rule, like no one's allowed
- 10:35Speaker 1: to put up any Christmas stuff till after Thanksgiving. Residents
- 10:41Speaker 1: apparently went along with it. The memo to all the
- 10:46Speaker 1: residents said, one holiday at a time, one holiday at
- 10:49Speaker 1: a time, nothing, no Christmas anything until Thanksgiving was over.
- 10:53Speaker 1: The okay, not a bad rule. I kind of like it. Hey,
- 10:57Speaker 1: the BBC. You know, here in the United States, we
- 11:03Speaker 1: saw slanted partisan news MSNBC all that kind of stuff,
- 11:07Speaker 1: and CNN got very partisan. But then you saw what
- 11:13Speaker 1: were considered the most prestigious news organizations go totally corrupt.
- 11:17Speaker 1: The New York Times, NBC, ABC, CBS totally corrupt, slanted, biased,
- 11:25Speaker 1: lots of fake news, literally fake news, things that weren't
- 11:28Speaker 1: true coming out. I could read you a whole list
- 11:30Speaker 1: of absolute nonsense. They made up about Trump and pushed
- 11:34Speaker 1: the Russia hoaks a big example. But it happened in England.
- 11:37Speaker 1: The BBC went totally corrupt. Sixty minutes totally corrupt the
- 11:42Speaker 1: Kamala Harris interview. They doctored up the video to give
- 11:47Speaker 1: you a completely different impression instead of what actually happened.
- 11:52Speaker 1: When Trump was talking about the surveillance on his campaign
- 11:54Speaker 1: in that famous interview with Leslie Stall, they actually lied
- 11:59Speaker 1: to the viewers. They said, there's no surveillance, it never happened. Well,
- 12:01Speaker 1: of course Trump was right, but it's happened with the BBC.
- 12:05Speaker 1: They've been caught in total corruption. Believe it or not.
- 12:09Speaker 1: They're still focused on January sixth. They did a documentary
- 12:12Speaker 1: on January sixth, and they literally doctored up what the
- 12:17Speaker 1: President said that day. President Trump, as you know, he said,
- 12:21Speaker 1: we're going to march to the Capitol right now, and
- 12:24Speaker 1: we're going to protest peacefully and patriotically, and so we
- 12:29Speaker 1: said all the right stuff. But they doctored up the video.
- 12:32Speaker 1: They literally edited it, chopped it up, so he said
- 12:34Speaker 1: something totally different. So if you're watching the documentary, said
- 12:37Speaker 1: we're going to march to the Capitol, I'm gonna go
- 12:39Speaker 1: with you, and we're gonna fight. We're gonna fight like hell. Well,
- 12:42Speaker 1: that's not what he said. It was completely doctored, completely falsified.
- 12:47Speaker 1: They got caught. It's been a big scandal in England.
- 12:50Speaker 1: The BBC director general had to resign over it. The
- 12:55Speaker 1: BBC News chief had to resign over it. A lot
- 12:58Speaker 1: of executives had to quit over it. It's a major scandal.
- 13:02Speaker 1: President Trump says he may sue the BBC. Remember, he
- 13:05Speaker 1: got a lot of money. He got about fifteen million
- 13:07Speaker 1: out of ABC News when they lied about him. He
- 13:10Speaker 1: got but I think it was fifteen million plus. There
- 13:13Speaker 1: was a total of about thirty million from CBS when
- 13:16Speaker 1: sixty Minutes lied about Kamala Harris. And I'm missing another one.
- 13:21Speaker 1: There's another lawsuit or two there where he's made some
- 13:24Speaker 1: money like that, I think the settlements. So he's up
- 13:27Speaker 1: to like forty fifty million in settlements now he said
- 13:31Speaker 1: he might sue the BBC. The problem is it's really
- 13:34Speaker 1: tough to sue overseas. It's very difficult to do it
- 13:37Speaker 1: from another country. Now the British Prime Minister expect him
- 13:41Speaker 1: to get involved in this. He may even jump in
- 13:45Speaker 1: and try to settle something. BBC is controlled by the government,
- 13:48Speaker 1: so look for that to happen. Hey, we'll take some
- 13:51Speaker 1: calls in a minute. Oh hey, I wanted to mention
- 13:53Speaker 1: you know our great friend Nelson de Mill, the great
- 13:56Speaker 1: author Nelson to Mill, who used to have on the
- 13:58Speaker 1: show all the time. You know, he passed away last year,
- 14:02Speaker 1: but his son Alex de Mill is continuing the series.
- 14:06Speaker 1: The great bestselling novels, and if you're in Oyster Bay tonight,
- 14:11Speaker 1: Alex de Mill it's actually the last book he did
- 14:14Speaker 1: with his father, Nelson Demill. There'll be at Theodore Books
- 14:17Speaker 1: tonight Alex de Mill seven o'clock book signing if you
- 14:21Speaker 1: want to meet him. That's a beautiful there's not a
- 14:23Speaker 1: lot of great bookstores anymore, but in beautiful Oyster Bay,
- 14:27Speaker 1: where you've got Cooper Bluff, you got Wild Honey, you
- 14:29Speaker 1: got all these great places. You got Theodore Roosevelt's House,
- 14:33Speaker 1: one of the last great bookstores, Theodore's books. But tonight
- 14:35Speaker 1: at seven, if you want to see Alex de Mill,
- 14:37Speaker 1: he'll be there. We'll take some calls. Next eight hundred
- 14:41Speaker 1: three two one zero seven ten is the number. Eight
- 14:44Speaker 1: hundred three two one zero seven ten
