- 0:01Speaker 1: Let's go to LSU and Texas A & M. Two
- 0:04Speaker 1: teams coming off of a loss this weekend. One that's
- 0:06Speaker 1: maybe not too surprising. The other one that certainly is.
- 0:08Speaker 1: We recapped both these games. They're available on the channel now.
- 0:11Speaker 1: If you haven't already seen them, this is presented by PrizePix.
- 0:14Speaker 1: We don't have to spend a ton of time on
- 0:15Speaker 1: this one either because I think LSU is going to
- 0:18Speaker 1: absolutely roll, but I'll let Cole actually break that down
- 0:21Speaker 1: and you won't just get a vibes check from TJ.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Yeah, what do we see from two teams that need
- 0:26Speaker 2: to not only emotionally, but also... phonetically respond in this matchup.
- 0:31Speaker 2: You got Ole Miss, I mean, you got LSU, that
- 0:34Speaker 2: I thought played very conservative in the first half, found
- 0:36Speaker 2: a rhythm right before halftime and came on out swinging
- 0:38Speaker 2: in the third quarter against Ole Miss to make it
- 0:40Speaker 2: a game, but still allowed a mobile quarterback to beat
- 0:43Speaker 2: you on the final drive, I mean, the second to
- 0:46Speaker 2: last drive, and then had a bad interception inside the
- 0:48Speaker 2: red zone because you lost your star weapon in trade
- 0:50Speaker 2: as green, coming back home for a game against a
- 0:53Speaker 2: quarterback who, in theory and history, like it or not,
- 0:58Speaker 2: has beaten you and has been able to beat you
- 1:00Speaker 2: with his legs a lot. Marcel Reed has five rushing
- 1:03Speaker 2: touchdowns against a Blake Baker defense in the past two
- 1:06Speaker 2: times they've gone up against each other in seven total touchdowns.
- 1:09Speaker 2: But he also looks like he's regressed because of the
- 1:11Speaker 2: play calling or just the overall offensive personnel underneath new
- 1:15Speaker 2: offensive coordinator Holman Wiggins. That may not be his fault.
- 1:18Speaker 2: But they were bullied on both sides of the football.
- 1:21Speaker 2: And as Mike Gucko said after the game, there's nothing
- 1:24Speaker 2: positive to take away. They came in here and kicked
- 1:26Speaker 2: our ass. So how do you avoid an ass kicking
- 1:28Speaker 2: from a team that is going to be playing pissed
- 1:29Speaker 2: off in front of a hometown crowd of the boondocks
- 1:32Speaker 2: that is filled to its ravenous brim that wants to
- 1:34Speaker 2: probably kill Lane Kiffin for losing that game and cannot
- 1:37Speaker 2: afford to start off the year 2-2. So let's start there.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Who is the number one weapon? for LSU in this
- 1:44Speaker 2: game is my big takeaway. You no longer have trade
- 1:46Speaker 2: as green. The hope is that he'll come back at
- 1:48Speaker 2: some point this year, but I got my question marks
- 1:50Speaker 2: on who can be that big, easy red staple button
- 1:52Speaker 2: that you just push down and go, yep, six points.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Is it Winston Watkins? Is it Jackson Harris? Is it
- 1:58Speaker 2: Jace Brown? We're going to find out because of Texas
- 2:01Speaker 2: A & M secondary has allowed explosive plays to multiple defenses.
- 2:06Speaker 2: I mean, multiple offenses. Reed Harris went off. They nearly
- 2:09Speaker 2: had Darby get two touchdowns in that game against Kentucky
- 2:12Speaker 2: last week. you're going to have an opportunity to get Shores.
- 2:15Speaker 2: But that's a big question mark, I think, on the
- 2:17Speaker 2: other side for Texas A & M. Can you get
- 2:19Speaker 2: after Sam Leavitt to force him down and not be
- 2:22Speaker 2: able to do the Sam Leavitt playing out of system check?
- 2:24Speaker 2: Because Sam Leavitt, when he's in structure, kind of an
- 2:27Speaker 2: underwhelming quarterback. Sam Leavitt, when he's out of structure, really
- 2:30Speaker 2: damn good. And Ole Miss had him dead to rights
- 2:34Speaker 2: on multiple occasions in that backfield, and he got out
- 2:37Speaker 2: of it and he picked up first outs. Texas A
- 2:39Speaker 2: & M' s defense right now has had four sacks on
- 2:41Speaker 2: the year. That's not common for Mike Elko and company.
- 2:45Speaker 2: They get after quarterbacks. They win in the trenches. And
- 2:48Speaker 2: because of that, it's allowed the explosive plays to go
- 2:51Speaker 2: downfield to those receivers, which is why we've seen Reed
- 2:54Speaker 2: Harris go off and Darby have a good game and
- 2:57Speaker 2: countless others who could in the future for Texas A
- 2:59Speaker 2: & M. So that's storyline I'm looking forward to for
- 3:01Speaker 2: the offense.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I'll get right back to the power to here on
- 3:04Speaker 1: college football addiction. But first, I want to tell you
- 3:07Speaker 1: on the live show this week, we picked all of
- 3:10Speaker 1: the players that are right next to us. We really
- 3:12Speaker 1: liked the more for Trinidad. We really liked the more
- 3:14Speaker 1: for Jaden Baugh. I took the less for Arch Manning.
- 3:17Speaker 1: The guys, one of them disagree with me. I won't
- 3:19Speaker 1: tell you who I like the more on.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Um, I, well, you know what? Let me not tell
- 3:25Speaker 3: you all of them.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Go check out the live show where we picked all
- 3:28Speaker 1: of these players, pair a couple of things like this together,
- 3:31Speaker 1: set yourself a lineup, all new users on the price
- 3:33Speaker 1: picks app who play a $ 5 lineup, get $ 150 in
- 3:34Speaker 1: lineups instantly and, if they win using code HMA.
- 3:39Speaker 3: We appreciate you guys. Now back to the clip.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Can you defensively not play so conservative in the first quarter?
- 3:46Speaker 2: I get it. Marcel Reed is a mobile son of
- 3:48Speaker 2: a bitch that is going to be able to take
- 3:50Speaker 2: his legs and go for a game of seven, go
- 3:52Speaker 2: for a game of eight. But what did we just
- 3:54Speaker 2: talk about in the Ole Miss preview? Ole Miss' leading
- 3:57Speaker 2: rusher last week was Trinidad Chambliss. The leading rusher for
- 4:02Speaker 2: Texas A & M last week was Marcel Reed. So
- 4:05Speaker 2: can you take away the rushing attack entirely and force
- 4:07Speaker 2: Marcel Reed to play within the system? Because if so,
- 4:10Speaker 2: you know he is going to survey the field and
- 4:12Speaker 2: he's going to make a bad decision. Because at this point,
- 4:14Speaker 2: it's a common theme that Marcel Reed will at least
- 4:17Speaker 2: once throw into double coverage because he believes that his receiver,
- 4:20Speaker 2: either Isaiah Horton or Mario Craver, is going to come
- 4:24Speaker 2: down with the football. Which I don't discern you on.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I think that's important that you go out and think
- 4:30Speaker 2: that way. But still, if you take away the rushing
- 4:33Speaker 2: element with his legs, a way that he has beaten
- 4:35Speaker 2: you in the past, you're forcing him to have to
- 4:37Speaker 2: try to make those throws. And the more you make
- 4:39Speaker 2: those throws, you got a Woodland in coverage. You got
- 4:42Speaker 2: a Pickett in coverage. You got a Benefield in coverage.
- 4:44Speaker 2: All of them have made plays so far this season
- 4:46Speaker 2: to get after opponents. They can do so against Texas
- 4:49Speaker 2: A & M. What does this offensive line look like
- 4:51Speaker 2: if you're A & M? Can you hold your block
- 4:54Speaker 2: against Lamar Brown in the front four? When they rush
- 4:57Speaker 2: three or they rush four, you're giving Marcel Reed time
- 5:00Speaker 2: and giving him a clean pocket, a fine open space.
- 5:03Speaker 2: It's been an underwhelming part all season so far, is
- 5:05Speaker 2: that offensive line to Texas A & M. It's forced
- 5:07Speaker 2: Marcel Reed to have to play with more tempo in
- 5:10Speaker 2: a way that he probably is not prepared for in
- 5:12Speaker 2: a way that I wouldn't want him to play in
- 5:13Speaker 2: that sense. So can you get after him and force
- 5:16Speaker 2: him to have to throw in double coverage a lot faster?
- 5:18Speaker 2: The third thing that I'm looking for for Texas A
- 5:20Speaker 2: & M is can you establish a number three option?
- 5:22Speaker 2: Because right now Terry Bussey's out for the year, got
- 5:25Speaker 2: carted off on the opening play of the Texas A
- 5:26Speaker 2: & M game. He won't be back in 2026. So
- 5:30Speaker 2: who is that option? Is it one of your young receivers?
- 5:32Speaker 2: Is it Micah Riley, the tight end? Do you have
- 5:35Speaker 2: somebody that you can trust that can move the football
- 5:37Speaker 2: efficiently on third down? And then on the flip side
- 5:39Speaker 2: for LSU, can you specifically have coverages that confuse Marcel
- 5:45Speaker 2: Reed the way that Arizona State did? I thought Arizona
- 5:47Speaker 2: State did a very good job of having Reed think
- 5:51Speaker 2: that there was a receiver open and there was a
- 5:53Speaker 2: hovering safety in the back end ready to either break
- 5:55Speaker 2: up the pass or come away with the turnover. Can
- 5:57Speaker 2: you do something very similar to that that allows you
- 6:00Speaker 2: to be able to get short field position? And then
- 6:02Speaker 2: when you get the ball on offense, can you freaking
- 6:05Speaker 2: run it? And can you run it efficiently early on
- 6:07Speaker 2: with Dylan Jones? Because they eventually went away from the
- 6:10Speaker 2: rushing attack and then they went back to it. And
- 6:12Speaker 2: when they went back to it, it was awesome in
- 6:14Speaker 2: the second and third quarter. And this is a Texas
- 6:16Speaker 2: A & M defense that right now has its questions
- 6:18Speaker 2: of defending the run. CJ Baxter had his way in
- 6:22Speaker 2: the second and third quarter against A & M' s defensive line.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Can you do the exact same thing? I think the
- 6:26Speaker 2: final thing I'm looking forward to is which team knows
- 6:28Speaker 2: how to respond better from a loss. Because there's one
- 6:31Speaker 2: thing I can tell you. Mike Elko will have his
- 6:34Speaker 2: players through hell this week. Is Lane Kiffin going to
- 6:37Speaker 2: do that? Is Lane Kiffin going to be like, oh, well,
- 6:39Speaker 2: you know, it was a loss to my former team
- 6:41Speaker 2: that has talent and a quarterback like Trinidad Chambliss. We
- 6:44Speaker 2: can go ahead and prepare. Guys, it's not that simple
- 6:46Speaker 2: in the SEC. You don't have a good week of practice.
- 6:48Speaker 2: You are absolutely dead to rights against whoever, regardless of
- 6:51Speaker 2: where the opponent is. A & M did not have
- 6:53Speaker 2: a good week of practice going into Kentucky, and Kentucky
- 6:55Speaker 2: went into their house and made them their bitch. So
- 6:58Speaker 2: can they do the exact same thing here?
- 7:02Speaker 4: Tom? To me, this feels like the Texas A &
- 7:06Speaker 4: M offense is going to be in gridlock against the
- 7:10Speaker 4: LSU defense. I expect Lane, Baker, everybody and their brother
- 7:15Speaker 4: defensively to get this LSU Tigers defense to the point
- 7:20Speaker 4: where they were playing against Clemson. in the opener animalistic,
- 7:24Speaker 4: ruthless style of football, because I feel like this is
- 7:27Speaker 4: a get right game for LSU and Texas A &
- 7:30Speaker 4: M wants to get right. But I don't think that
- 7:33Speaker 4: many teams get right against LSU in death Valley, especially
- 7:37Speaker 4: when the Tigers have something to prove in this game
- 7:39Speaker 4: to the rest of the country, that they're not just
- 7:41Speaker 4: dead in the water when it comes to the college
- 7:42Speaker 4: football playoff hunt, Marcel Reed, he's gonna throw a pick.
- 7:49Speaker 4: You hope that his attempts are 25 or less. I
- 7:53Speaker 4: think you need Texas A & M to run him
- 7:55Speaker 4: about 15 to maybe 20 times. But even still in
- 7:58Speaker 4: that situation, I don't trust him necessarily as a runner
- 8:01Speaker 4: to hold on to the ball. I could see a
- 8:03Speaker 4: fumble coming out of that. He is so turnover prone.
- 8:07Speaker 4: It really just locks you up offensively. And I think
- 8:09Speaker 4: LSU is going to have their opportunities to just put
- 8:11Speaker 4: him in third long situations where he has to throw
- 8:15Speaker 4: and he has to make reads. Again, I come back
- 8:17Speaker 4: to the way that LSU's defense just tormented quarterbacks for
- 8:21Speaker 4: Clemson just a few weeks ago and what they were
- 8:23Speaker 4: able to throw at them. And you had a defensive
- 8:26Speaker 4: lineman come up with a pick six. I think you're
- 8:28Speaker 4: going to see situations like that on the flip side.
- 8:31Speaker 4: You've heard Lane Kiffin talk about it post game. And
- 8:34Speaker 4: then through this week following the Ole Miss game is
- 8:36Speaker 4: that it felt like, you know, he didn't say this
- 8:37Speaker 4: directly that Sam Levitt's confidence was shaken, but reading between
- 8:40Speaker 4: the lines is kind of what it was. If I'm
- 8:42Speaker 4: Lane Kiffin, I am giving him a whole lot of
- 8:45Speaker 4: love this week, and I am making sure that he
- 8:47Speaker 4: is in the best head space he can possibly be in.
- 8:50Speaker 4: I think without Trey Does Green, you don't have that
- 8:53Speaker 4: matchup nightmare that Cole has talked about a lot. You
- 8:55Speaker 4: also don't necessarily have a game breaker in the passing game.
- 8:58Speaker 3: I think that's okay.
- 8:59Speaker 4: Dylan Jones should be the focal point of this entire offense.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Run the hell out of Dylan Jones the way that
- 9:05Speaker 4: maybe Florida runs a Jaden Ball. Give him 25, 30
- 9:07Speaker 4: carries in this game. and break Texas A & M' s
- 9:11Speaker 4: will as the game goes on because I do think
- 9:14Speaker 4: there's the possibility of quit factor when it comes to
- 9:16Speaker 4: Texas A & M. Sam Levitt, he needs easy access throws.
- 9:21Speaker 4: He needs to dink and dunk because that's what this
- 9:23Speaker 4: wide receiver core lends itself to. You're going to find
- 9:26Speaker 4: your chances for explosives, and I know Lane covets those
- 9:29Speaker 4: and he wants those, but if your quarterback is forcing things,
- 9:34Speaker 4: you can't force those situations essentially. I think you rely
- 9:38Speaker 4: on the running game. You make this easy on Sam Levitt.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Sam's going to create with his legs, and he's going
- 9:42Speaker 4: to have those opportunities to do so. And it's not
- 9:44Speaker 4: to say that Texas A & M won't give him
- 9:46Speaker 4: trouble defensively, but I just think this lines up for
- 9:50Speaker 4: LSU to get themselves in the right headspace. And I
- 9:53Speaker 4: don't feel like Marcel Reed is moving forward in his progression.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Give me LSU 31-34.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Texas A & M.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:03Speaker 3: I mean, this is a, what is this about a
- 10:07Speaker 3: nine point spread?
- 10:08Speaker 2: Nine and a half point spread is what it broke at.
- 10:10Speaker 2: I'm not sure if it's there now. It was eight
- 10:11Speaker 2: and a half and it broke. Now it's at nine
- 10:13Speaker 2: and a half.
- 10:14Speaker 1: I think this is a, I think this is a
- 10:16Speaker 1: rough spot for Texas A & M.
- 10:18Speaker 3: I expect the bounce back.
- 10:19Speaker 1: The problem is if you were a and M you
- 10:21Speaker 1: were really liked for LSU to win last week. Like
- 10:24Speaker 1: you don't really like them to be smelling their own
- 10:26Speaker 1: flowers right now, but both these, Oh gosh, Mike Norvell
- 10:29Speaker 1: says this all the time. And I absolutely hate it,
- 10:33Speaker 1: but he says the word response so much. So that
- 10:35Speaker 1: word has really taken on a pretty negative meaning to me.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Because every week he goes out in the press conference like,
- 10:40Speaker 1: we just got to go out and respond. And I'm like,
- 10:42Speaker 1: we've been doing it for seven years, buddy. I'm tired
- 10:45Speaker 1: of climbing. But I think LSU responds too. And that's,
- 10:50Speaker 1: I know this is more of an NFL thing, but
- 10:52Speaker 1: you're never as good as you were last week and
- 10:53Speaker 1: you're never as bad as you were last week. It
- 10:56Speaker 1: wouldn't surprise me at all if both Ole Miss and
- 10:58Speaker 1: Florida looked a little bit sloppier in their games after winning.
- 11:02Speaker 3: They both got big wins in the state of Mississippi.
- 11:06Speaker 3: But kind of the same idea here.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I kind of think that LSU and A & M
- 11:10Speaker 1: both kind of elevate a little bit. If LSU elevates,
- 11:13Speaker 1: I think that's a rough spot for A & M.
- 11:15Speaker 1: I think Marcel has to really have a kind of
- 11:16Speaker 1: a go-off game. I don't know if he does.
- 11:20Speaker 3: I think it's 31-20.
- 11:23Speaker 4: Tigers.
- 11:24Speaker 2: TJ, did you just say that both teams got a
- 11:26Speaker 2: massive win in the state of Mississippi?
- 11:29Speaker 3: Oh, you're right. You're right.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Oh, it's, it's fine. It's West Georgia's what Alabama fans
- 11:33Speaker 2: call it.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:34Speaker 3: I would, you know, I was thinking about Kamara Taylor.
- 11:37Speaker 2: It's Auburn.
- 11:37Speaker 3: It doesn't matter.
- 11:38Speaker 1: I was thinking the best two quarterbacks reside in the
- 11:40Speaker 1: state of Mississippi. I was even close on that. Good,
- 11:42Speaker 1: good call there.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Um, look, I think the A & M still has talent.
- 11:50Speaker 2: They have very good talent. They have exceptional talent, especially
- 11:53Speaker 2: at wide receiver. And Marcel Reed knows how to play quarterback.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Like he does it for like two quarters, but then
- 11:59Speaker 2: at some point he like snaps back in. He's like
- 12:02Speaker 2: the winter soldier. And it's like, oh, you said the
- 12:05Speaker 2: magic word. Here, I'm going to go pick you apart
- 12:07Speaker 2: for now three drives. And he looks great. It's that
- 12:10Speaker 2: can you do it in Death Valley for a third
- 12:12Speaker 2: time against a Blake Baker defense. You beat them at
- 12:16Speaker 2: home and you only threw two passes the first time.
- 12:18Speaker 2: You beat them on the road and you had two
- 12:20Speaker 2: interceptions and you were trailing at halftime before you eventually
- 12:23Speaker 2: emptied out Death Valley. Can you go 3-for-3 with Lane
- 12:26Speaker 2: Kiffin and this offense and the pieces in play? TJ,
- 12:30Speaker 2: just throw up the damn graphic at this point. 3-for-3
- 12:33Speaker 2: all for LSU. I think LSU is going to win
- 12:34Speaker 2: this game by at least 7. If not 10. I'm
- 12:36Speaker 2: going to go 38-27. The A & M fans will
- 12:37Speaker 2: absolutely come revisit that if they need to. But yeah,
- 12:39Speaker 2: 3-for-3 here on Game Picks.
- 12:53Speaker 1: And really just me picking Tennessee is the only reason
- 12:55Speaker 1: we didn't have it for the first one too. So
- 12:58Speaker 1: hopefully I'm the one that saves somebody on Saturday.
