- 0:00Speaker 1: We didn't. We're back.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Oh you didn't see the countdown? You almost said something.
- 0:05Speaker 2: I saw that look on your face.
- 0:07Speaker 1: I did not see.
- 0:08Speaker 2: It feels like a body wrong episode when I just
- 0:14Speaker 2: press it. You have no idea the way the voice
- 0:16Speaker 2: you're hearing you know by now it's me. It's my
- 0:19Speaker 2: beat up voice. But I still got some left joining
- 0:21Speaker 2: me as always is you've been hacking off, Brandon Jay mcdermit.
- 0:26Speaker 2: And if this isn't the typical Dad podcast where we
- 0:31Speaker 2: kind of been chatting before there and it's like, listen,
- 0:32Speaker 2: I gotta do this at this time, and I got
- 0:34Speaker 2: to do this at this time, but we got to
- 0:35Speaker 2: hurry up and do this at this point. So if
- 0:36Speaker 2: any of us have to leave early, we got dad
- 0:38Speaker 2: shit to do.
- 0:40Speaker 3: And the best way to tell you've been and me
- 0:42Speaker 3: apart is you've been has been whacking off, and I
- 0:44Speaker 3: I still am.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Just hand check hand.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Check, raise your hand. If you're wearing pants, you'll never know.
- 0:55Speaker 2: It's the podcasting thing. I was watching a podcast the
- 0:57Speaker 2: other day. It's Harlan Williams and Howie Mandel have one
- 1:01Speaker 2: called uh when a stranger calls, I think is what
- 1:04Speaker 2: it's called. So they do zoom meetings with random people.
- 1:07Speaker 2: They they filter it all out. I've done some research
- 1:10Speaker 2: to shout out Reddit and so they break these people.
- 1:13Speaker 2: And then this guy, I don't know, he came over
- 1:15Speaker 2: to me as like a super pretentious douchebag, I guess,
- 1:20Speaker 2: and he was like in the suit, said he wanted
- 1:21Speaker 2: to practice for this big interview with all like Sinbad
- 1:24Speaker 2: and all these people, and they just messed with him.
- 1:28Speaker 2: I mean they talked about everything and everything, and then
- 1:30Speaker 2: they more or less were like stand up. He's like,
- 1:32Speaker 2: no stand up. He was wearing a suit, no pants,
- 1:35Speaker 2: American flag underwear.
- 1:38Speaker 1: True American, like a true American suit.
- 1:42Speaker 2: E can are true Americans. I know you've been you've
- 1:45Speaker 2: you've been going a little crazy in the chat, mainly
- 1:47Speaker 2: I think to get Burly fired up, but I'd love
- 1:49Speaker 2: I know it's a little bit older news, but it's
- 1:51Speaker 2: still a couple of days there. We got we should
- 1:54Speaker 2: probably talk about the old TikTok band. That was the
- 1:56Speaker 2: quickest band probably of all, because I'll give you my
- 2:01Speaker 2: point of view real quick before you guys get in there.
- 2:04Speaker 2: I thought it was weird. I was into school all weekend,
- 2:07Speaker 2: limited WiFi, no cell service, kind of like you were
- 2:09Speaker 2: a couple of weekends ago. Sunday, we go rolling into
- 2:12Speaker 2: this basketball tournament and there was I'm not even shitting you,
- 2:15Speaker 2: a different mood, not only from the girls on my team,
- 2:18Speaker 2: but the athletes, the boys, the girls on all these
- 2:21Speaker 2: other teams. They were all legitimately, these are like sixth
- 2:25Speaker 2: grade kids upset bummed over TikTok. Apparently there's a TikTok
- 2:31Speaker 2: streak that they were all upset they were gonna lose,
- 2:34Speaker 2: kind of like a I thought it was only on Snapchat,
- 2:36Speaker 2: but it's on TikTok. They were bummed. And then all
- 2:40Speaker 2: of a sudden, I'm coaching and I hear a kid
- 2:42Speaker 2: in the crowd, Oh my god, TikTok's back. And I'm
- 2:46Speaker 2: not shitting you. Adults, kids, almost anybody was then reaching
- 2:50Speaker 2: for their phones and it was like pure joy and
- 2:54Speaker 2: they were all like, oh my god, trap yay. And
- 2:58Speaker 2: it was the most awkward thing. And then you saw
- 2:59Speaker 2: these athletes playing with so much more energy, and I
- 3:05Speaker 2: don't know, I was kind of disgusted by that. I'm
- 3:07Speaker 2: not gonna ide you.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Well, you know, I will say this if the wife
- 3:12Speaker 3: tells me tonight's gonna be a good night. I might
- 3:16Speaker 3: have a little pep in my step to take the
- 3:17Speaker 3: trash out just say it.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I can't. I was probably one of those sixth grade kids.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I was just as excited. I cannot lie. I opened
- 3:29Speaker 1: up the app easily one hundred times while it was down,
- 3:34Speaker 1: and I kept seeing the same message. I'm like, shit,
- 3:36Speaker 1: that's right, that's right. Granted I have the memory of
- 3:39Speaker 1: a walnut, so I will say that that's always been bad.
- 3:43Speaker 1: But I don't know. As soon as it popped up,
- 3:47Speaker 1: Like I opened up the app and I saw a
- 3:49Speaker 1: feed like it was my for you page, and I'm like,
- 3:51Speaker 1: wait a minute, and like my family was leaving to
- 3:55Speaker 1: go get my birthday present, and I was like, oh shit.
- 3:58Speaker 1: I got the house to myself good one and a
- 4:00Speaker 1: half hours, so imagine when I did.
- 4:04Speaker 3: It was nice.
- 4:05Speaker 1: But I chased them down the driveway. I was like
- 4:09Speaker 1: I ay, And then they didn't see me, so I
- 4:11Speaker 1: had to call them and I was like, guess what,
- 4:13Speaker 1: guess what. They're right, what's up dad? On my TikTok's
- 4:17Speaker 1: back and like, no way. It was a monumental experience. Honestly,
- 4:22Speaker 1: when I told people on TikTok the equivalent of the
- 4:25Speaker 1: second Plane to me in the Second Tower. Honestly, it
- 4:27Speaker 1: was that monumental of an experience.
- 4:32Speaker 3: So how not to get into a like a Toby
- 4:37Speaker 3: rebuttal Right, whenever I'm undoing a podcast, I'm always like,
- 4:42Speaker 3: don't channel your inner Toby, because I could talk for
- 4:44Speaker 3: ten minutes on this. My page basically died about two
- 4:49Speaker 3: two and a half years ago, and I post got
- 4:52Speaker 3: one point six million followers. But when I post a
- 4:54Speaker 3: video now I can't get anything more than fifteen hundred views,
- 4:57Speaker 3: Whereas when I post the same video anywhere else Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, snapchat,
- 5:02Speaker 3: you name it, I can get ten twenty one hundred times.
- 5:06Speaker 3: That it is what it is. I'm not complaining. There
- 5:08Speaker 3: is no sad It's YouTube or TikTok gave me what
- 5:12Speaker 3: I needed and was a great part of my life.
- 5:15Speaker 3: That said, the biggest sadness of this whole being bad
- 5:17Speaker 3: thing the snip snap, snip snap back and forth. As
- 5:19Speaker 3: a band, does it not? As a band? Is it not?
- 5:22Speaker 3: Has been catty ah, this is true from the sounds
- 5:27Speaker 3: of it, I believe boys. In the coming months, I
- 5:30Speaker 3: will also be getting.
- 5:31Speaker 2: A ooh got you hear me out? What if we
- 5:37Speaker 2: it's the first one that I fly in for and
- 5:41Speaker 2: we do a podcast while you boys are recovering from
- 5:43Speaker 2: the snip.
- 5:45Speaker 3: What if on top of that, we do like the doctors,
- 5:49Speaker 3: let the dads snip the umbilical cord. What if he
- 5:51Speaker 3: come into the and you just snip it for me?
- 5:53Speaker 2: You know I could now that I don't drink as much.
- 5:56Speaker 2: I'm steady like a surgeon. I'm going some time in ours.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I'm telling you, I'm in you been you getting one? Brandon?
- 6:05Speaker 2: Do you got to do it?
- 6:06Speaker 3: I'm definitely gonna do something on the station about it.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Like, ain't no freaking way, ain't ain't no.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Well, I'm not gonna go live on Facebook for it
- 6:16Speaker 3: is what I bought, like the lead up to it,
- 6:18Speaker 3: like two more days and branded's getting snipped, you know
- 6:21Speaker 3: kind of thing. It'll be fun.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Yeah. So not to get you guys even fired up
- 6:24Speaker 2: about the TikTok, but I have questions for you both
- 6:27Speaker 2: because I think we're in different spots. I think you've
- 6:29Speaker 2: been and correct me if I'm wrong. You were more
- 6:31Speaker 2: sad because you genuinely like scrolling TikTok, you like the
- 6:36Speaker 2: content on it. You're enjoying the app more as a
- 6:40Speaker 2: viewer than a creator, right.
- 6:42Speaker 1: This is this is true? Yeah, because while I I
- 6:46Speaker 1: think I probably quit creating about two and a half
- 6:49Speaker 1: years ago is generally when I stopped doing like the
- 6:52Speaker 1: whole twice a day posting thing. But yes, I would
- 6:57Speaker 1: say I'm more of a viewer. But also not the
- 6:59Speaker 1: only reason why I was upset, because I'm not just saying, hey,
- 7:02Speaker 1: I'm I'm upset because that was band because I didn't
- 7:05Speaker 1: have anything to do. Obviously there's more deeper issues with
- 7:08Speaker 1: that being banned, but yes, primarily as.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yep, and I'm kind of in the fence for it.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Like for me, I was like, ah, it's gone. But
- 7:16Speaker 2: being a parent, I was like, I'm not that mad.
- 7:18Speaker 3: You know.
- 7:19Speaker 2: The kids are at that age where they're you know,
- 7:21Speaker 2: just doing stupid harmless ones and most of them are
- 7:24Speaker 2: private or like the one kid that's you can only
- 7:27Speaker 2: post as friends only. We check the friends whatever. But
- 7:31Speaker 2: as the creator and me like, I've just gotten to
- 7:33Speaker 2: the point where now I just get on the desktop app,
- 7:35Speaker 2: I schedule a bunch, they go out as it is,
- 7:37Speaker 2: and it's mostly just not just but it's for the
- 7:40Speaker 2: podcast stuff where it's just I don't know. I lost
- 7:43Speaker 2: my interest for it because I mean, if I if
- 7:45Speaker 2: I open it, I can't go one or two. And
- 7:47Speaker 2: maybe it's just my thing and I think you can
- 7:49Speaker 2: reset them, but it's just buy this product, buy this product,
- 7:53Speaker 2: buy this product. And for me, I'm just like, where's
- 7:56Speaker 2: the funny shit? And then I try to go to
- 7:57Speaker 2: the following and I think because I followed so many
- 7:59Speaker 2: people already that I'm like, yeah, yeah, you know. Or
- 8:05Speaker 2: if I go on Instagram and just throwing it out,
- 8:07Speaker 2: like I enjoy scrolling that a little bit better because
- 8:10Speaker 2: I think it's more my algorithm. I'm seeing more funnier things.
- 8:13Speaker 2: I'm seeing things you know there, And then yeah, I
- 8:16Speaker 2: don't know, that's my that's my take on it. Like
- 8:17Speaker 2: I was kind of on the fence like, uh, it's gone.
- 8:19Speaker 2: I was not sad, but I had a feeling it
- 8:22Speaker 2: was gonna be back at least temporary. But when it's gone,
- 8:24Speaker 2: it's gone. And to be honest, the one thing that
- 8:25Speaker 2: kind of annoyed me not to go on a logan
- 8:28Speaker 2: moment moment here, but was cap cut. I enjoyed using
- 8:31Speaker 2: cap cut for street Sign and a couple of other
- 8:33Speaker 2: things to use. And with that being there, but I
- 8:37Speaker 2: also use Da Vinci Resolve for some editing, so and
- 8:40Speaker 2: it's very you got to do some homework, you got
- 8:43Speaker 2: to dig into it. So now this is my motivation
- 8:45Speaker 2: big all right, I can go full Da Vinci. But
- 8:47Speaker 2: a lot of creators they're using they're using that, and
- 8:50Speaker 2: I don't know if you found an alternative, if anybody
- 8:52Speaker 2: out there was listening, But I've used Inshot before and
- 8:55Speaker 2: it's pretty close.
- 8:57Speaker 3: In Shot and Splice are the two that are pretty good.
- 9:01Speaker 3: But the problem is this. I like web version. I
- 9:03Speaker 3: like web based stuff, so I'm using cap cut Desktop
- 9:05Speaker 3: and it was amazing. Now I can't use it, so
- 9:08Speaker 3: it sucks. I just checked it ten minutes ago and
- 9:10Speaker 3: it's not back.
- 9:10Speaker 2: And try it. I tried to Vincy Resolve. It's it's
- 9:14Speaker 2: a little it's's an overkill. It's not as easy as that,
- 9:17Speaker 2: but it's free and there is there is a learning curve.
- 9:20Speaker 2: But at the end of the day, that and like
- 9:22Speaker 2: Adobe Premiere Pro, they're pretty much like top notch video
- 9:27Speaker 2: editing stuff. Is it more catered for nine by sixteen
- 9:31Speaker 2: for short form? Not really? But I think you I'll help.
- 9:36Speaker 2: I'll look into it a little bit more on that
- 9:37Speaker 2: end of it, because like in shot doesn't have a
- 9:40Speaker 2: desktop version. But it was nice for simple, you know,
- 9:45Speaker 2: adding the captions, adding you know, maybe another picture here
- 9:48Speaker 2: or there.
- 9:49Speaker 3: It was.
- 9:49Speaker 2: It was decent. But like I said, I'm trying really
- 9:52Speaker 2: hard to learn and dig intoto Vinci.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Have you guys ever tried you cut? I have not, Okay,
- 10:02Speaker 1: so I don't know. It's probably garbage compared to what
- 10:04Speaker 1: you guys are using. But anytime that I've ever wanted
- 10:08Speaker 1: to edit a video, I think I've had it for
- 10:10Speaker 1: at least five years, but I use it on my mobile,
- 10:14Speaker 1: I'm able to like cut, edit, add audio, remove audio,
- 10:19Speaker 1: pretty much everything that you so. I mean, I don't know.
- 10:21Speaker 1: It's uh yeah called you cut?
- 10:24Speaker 2: You cut? Yeah, I'll look at me that. I just
- 10:25Speaker 2: put that on my notes because I'm curious. But like
- 10:27Speaker 2: he said, I do ninety nine points probably seven percent
- 10:32Speaker 2: of my all of the editing that I do right
- 10:35Speaker 2: on the desktop. It's easier, I know something about me.
- 10:38Speaker 2: I can't when I have multiple computers and laptops and
- 10:42Speaker 2: this and that on my you know, hands, to be
- 10:44Speaker 2: able to go and do this. It's like, why am
- 10:46Speaker 2: I going to try to edit on this when I can,
- 10:48Speaker 2: you know, have a bigger screen, use the mouse. Maybe
- 10:51Speaker 2: I'm old school, Well I am old but.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Yeah, it was.
- 10:55Speaker 1: I it having just the one device and doing the
- 10:58Speaker 1: one thing. So I just I'm just too lazy to
- 11:00Speaker 1: get more than one thing out. I don't know. I
- 11:02Speaker 1: just my phone's already there, and I'm like, can I
- 11:05Speaker 1: do it for my phone?
- 11:05Speaker 3: I can?
- 11:06Speaker 1: I testing to see what I can do and what
- 11:08Speaker 1: I cannot do from the phone.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Yes, I like it. Yeah, I mean it's convenient, especially,
- 11:13Speaker 2: like I said, if you're doing you know, nine by
- 11:16Speaker 2: sixteen editing and stuff that's going to go right on
- 11:18Speaker 2: you know, a real a TikTok or something like that,
- 11:20Speaker 2: I could see where it would be pretty easy. I
- 11:22Speaker 2: know a ton of people that are like that. And
- 11:24Speaker 2: actually three overs Daily who was going across Canada and
- 11:26Speaker 2: doing the content stuff. He was doing mobile only. He
- 11:29Speaker 2: didn't even know there was a desktop version of cap
- 11:31Speaker 2: cut And as soon as I kind of showed him that,
- 11:33Speaker 2: he was like, dude, I owe you big time. Like
- 11:35Speaker 2: that is a game changer. It's just a little bit easier,
- 11:38Speaker 2: you know, you can see a little bit more and
- 11:40Speaker 2: like when you're editing the layers and stuff, you can
- 11:42Speaker 2: see it a little bit better. But don't have to
- 11:45Speaker 2: worry about that. Cap cut lemonade didn't have a long
- 11:48Speaker 2: life shelf.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Huh, no at all. Everyone was right about that too,
- 11:52Speaker 1: that that did not last long.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Right after TikTok No, I did like the kind of
- 11:58Speaker 2: the format of it though. We were talking a little
- 12:00Speaker 2: bit in the group chat where it's more like if
- 12:03Speaker 2: you press them the search on Instagram and you have
- 12:05Speaker 2: a bunch of videos pop up, then you can go
- 12:08Speaker 2: in there. But it has the descriptions, had the tags
- 12:10Speaker 2: you can search, and I had different bars like tech
- 12:13Speaker 2: and stuff like. I like the thought process behind it
- 12:16Speaker 2: where it was like I'm not going to just instantly
- 12:18Speaker 2: open it and it's a for you page or friends only,
- 12:21Speaker 2: Like I'm gonna get to see content that I'm aiming
- 12:25Speaker 2: to but with that being said, they are then going
- 12:27Speaker 2: to get the information of what I really want to
- 12:30Speaker 2: go and search for.
- 12:31Speaker 1: You know, did you guys notice anything different about TikTok
- 12:39Speaker 1: being on it since it's return.
- 12:43Speaker 3: I know, like I opened it up just to see
- 12:47Speaker 3: what everybody was talking about, But I mean, I'm so
- 12:50Speaker 3: separated from it I want you to answer what you
- 12:54Speaker 3: were going to say, because you brought up a point,
- 12:55Speaker 3: but I do want to say this. There's just the
- 12:59Speaker 3: kids and the adults and the folks who were not
- 13:02Speaker 3: there for twenty twenty. They just don't know how great
- 13:07Speaker 3: TikTok was in twenty twenty. And yes, now that I've
- 13:11Speaker 3: been that person that said that, I will never say
- 13:13Speaker 3: it again. I'm sorry, but it was so amazing. It
- 13:17Speaker 3: was like it was a special time to be alive
- 13:19Speaker 3: because no, at no point as a creator in anything
- 13:23Speaker 3: I've ever done, did I feel like I had more
- 13:25Speaker 3: of a control understanding and feel for the algorithm, like
- 13:29Speaker 3: late twenty twenty, early to twenty twenty.
- 13:31Speaker 2: One, yep, And I remember it was like anything you
- 13:35Speaker 2: put out was gold And I'm not saying the stuff
- 13:38Speaker 2: that you put out because you as a content creator
- 13:41Speaker 2: has evolved and you got the golden voice, so it
- 13:42Speaker 2: doesn't matter it's what you're gonna put out there. But
- 13:44Speaker 2: what I'm saying by that meaning it was like every
- 13:46Speaker 2: video you did popped and I remember seeing the counters
- 13:50Speaker 2: as it was clicking up hitting that one million, like
- 13:52Speaker 2: it was a wild ride for me to be able
- 13:55Speaker 2: to enjoy with not with you, but then all these
- 13:57Speaker 2: other creators. I mean even you know the ride would
- 13:59Speaker 2: toe be and everything that he was doing, and you
- 14:02Speaker 2: know the crew that we had, you know that of
- 14:05Speaker 2: the boys, it was a wild time. People were blowing up.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I mean you've been you had several videos at the
- 14:11Speaker 2: same point too that were just you know.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it's I see it. And I would even disagree
- 14:18Speaker 1: that I hopped on when it was musically and so
- 14:22Speaker 1: I remember the transition to TikTok and I think pre
- 14:26Speaker 1: covid was the best time of TikTok. That was the
- 14:31Speaker 1: community was smaller, the live seemed like they were more personal.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I don't know, just the whole experience of TikTok before covid,
- 14:40Speaker 1: because that's what everyone else got on, and it was
- 14:41Speaker 1: kind of nice to see that, like you weren't weird
- 14:44Speaker 1: for using the app because everybody else was now on
- 14:46Speaker 1: the app. Like it wasn't like you're on that danceing app.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I'm like, and you have to explain it, like it's
- 14:51Speaker 1: not a dancing app, you know, it's just so it's
- 14:54Speaker 1: That was the part that was really cool. It was
- 14:56Speaker 1: like everybody was getting on it, and I think like
- 14:57Speaker 1: that's when everybody was getting, like you said, like a
- 14:59Speaker 1: lot of exposure. That's also whenever I got nervous from
- 15:03Speaker 1: using it, just because a lot of local people would
- 15:07Speaker 1: see some of the videos, and again my content being
- 15:10Speaker 1: a little bit different, I didn't like that as much.
- 15:13Speaker 1: I really liked it when it was just again that
- 15:15Speaker 1: small community of people far far away that had no
- 15:18Speaker 1: idea who I was. And then I just remember the
- 15:21Speaker 1: first person to share one of my videos to me
- 15:24Speaker 1: that was a local person and I was like, oh no,
- 15:28Speaker 1: and they're like, oh my god, is that you? And
- 15:30Speaker 1: I'm like, no, it is not. No, that would be terrible, right,
- 15:33Speaker 1: And they're like, oh no, that's that's definitely you. I
- 15:36Speaker 1: can see your house and I'm like, son of so.
- 15:43Speaker 1: And like I used to like not wear anything local,
- 15:46Speaker 1: and then one time I wore a hat from one
- 15:48Speaker 1: of the local universities and that happened to be one
- 15:50Speaker 1: of the videos that apparently got pushed towards that college.
- 15:54Speaker 1: And so some of the people that I would work with,
- 15:56Speaker 1: like I work a lot with like the football team
- 15:59Speaker 1: of this college because of like the recruiting process, and
- 16:03Speaker 1: they stay at hotels and uh, I was like sitting
- 16:08Speaker 1: there one day and just sitting on the couch and
- 16:09Speaker 1: the wide receiver coach was like, you see, bitch. He's like,
- 16:13Speaker 1: what's up you been? And I'm like, why are you
- 16:17Speaker 1: texting me this right now? What do you what? What?
- 16:19Speaker 1: What is this? And he goes, holy shit, he goes,
- 16:22Speaker 1: you got a lot cooler in my book. He's like, uh,
- 16:24Speaker 1: these meetups are gonna be a hell of a lot
- 16:26Speaker 1: more fun. And I'm like, oh shit. He's like, when
- 16:28Speaker 1: are we going golf? And I'm like do you uh He's.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Like, well yeah.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I was like, oh, it's like we're getting paid and
- 16:37Speaker 1: having fun. And I was like, and I get to
- 16:39Speaker 1: make tiktoks. It was a glorious time. I missed those days.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Those were fun.
- 16:43Speaker 2: That is pretty well. And you said getting paid to
- 16:46Speaker 2: make tiktoks, there's a large could you imagine being one
- 16:51Speaker 2: of those content creators? The stress of knowing that one of,
- 16:55Speaker 2: if not your source of income is there and a
- 16:58Speaker 2: lot of that's what a lot of people are like,
- 16:59Speaker 2: Oh my yeah, and you know, petty people do they
- 17:02Speaker 2: know these people are going to get a real job,
- 17:04Speaker 2: you know? And I've said a kidding around, but it's
- 17:06Speaker 2: like people are like, could you believe the stress? Like
- 17:09Speaker 2: I think we've all potentially lost jobs, We've all potentially
- 17:12Speaker 2: had to go find new jobs in the real world.
- 17:15Speaker 2: This is the real world. I was talking to one
- 17:18Speaker 2: of the kids and I'm like, isn't it while in
- 17:20Speaker 2: the wife and I'm like, isn't this wild that kids
- 17:22Speaker 2: are looking up like they make the stupid riz dudes
- 17:26Speaker 2: and the double chocolate, wouldn't you know reference? I was like,
- 17:28Speaker 2: these are who these kids are looking up to and
- 17:30Speaker 2: referencing and everything. And not to sound like an old
- 17:32Speaker 2: man again, but it's like, we grew up cherishing athletes, actors, comedians, musicians,
- 17:40Speaker 2: movie stars, and they're cherishing no offense. But some times
- 17:45Speaker 2: some just white trash people that are just making videos
- 17:51Speaker 2: and grocery stores.
- 17:53Speaker 1: See. And this is where again I will politely disagree,
- 17:57Speaker 1: just because I think so like growing whenever I grew
- 18:00Speaker 1: up in the you know, early two thousands, Yeah, you
- 18:03Speaker 1: idolize athletes and everything else. But I grew up in
- 18:07Speaker 1: the era of where Jackass was very popular, Viva Labam,
- 18:12Speaker 1: the Wild Boys, all those guys, all those shows were
- 18:15Speaker 1: very popular, and you didn't necessarily need to be intelligent
- 18:20Speaker 1: or and you know, an athlete. Uh, you could just
- 18:22Speaker 1: have a camera and make an ass of yourself and
- 18:27Speaker 1: people liked it. And uh and just all the reality
- 18:30Speaker 1: shows that came out and everything too. Just people are like, hey,
- 18:33Speaker 1: I want to I want to get on here. You
- 18:35Speaker 1: could I could date twenty women at the same time.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Hell yeah, that sounds like sign me up. I don't know,
- 18:41Speaker 1: it's a little different.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's crazy. That was just a couple of
- 18:45Speaker 2: years after you know, me growing up, thankfully.
- 18:50Speaker 1: And I'm least I was one of the at least
- 18:53Speaker 1: the jackass people.
- 18:54Speaker 2: A lot of that came from skating that was athletic.
- 18:57Speaker 2: But like you said, I know that's a good point though.
- 19:00Speaker 1: That is I mean they I guess they were athletic,
- 19:03Speaker 1: but the parts that I liked was like the Anti King.
- 19:06Speaker 1: You don't know if you remember that where they got
- 19:07Speaker 1: the flower. We're just throw it at people. That's what
- 19:09Speaker 1: we used to do to our friends. That was the
- 19:11Speaker 1: good times.
- 19:16Speaker 2: I know Brandon's got something to say about all this.
- 19:19Speaker 3: Here's what I have to say. I know you're sick.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Both my kids woke up this morning and they're like
- 19:24Speaker 3: that deep like whooping cough. They don't have whooping cough,
- 19:26Speaker 3: but they've got that deep like Jesus Christ. And it's
- 19:32Speaker 3: so bad. My nose is running, and like you blow
- 19:36Speaker 3: your nose and it gets more stuff because you're in
- 19:38Speaker 3: flaming shit.
- 19:39Speaker 2: It's terrible and it's funny because every year it's like
- 19:42Speaker 2: this is the worst sickness ever. It's like you just
- 19:46Speaker 2: haven't been sick for a year. It's always shitty to
- 19:49Speaker 2: be sick, and it's always even worse to have to
- 19:52Speaker 2: blow your nose with a big mustache. We can confirm
- 19:56Speaker 2: we need to come up with something a solution for that.
- 20:00Speaker 3: A day for your front mustache.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Could you use the mustache?
- 20:07Speaker 2: You could use the mustache made for that.
- 20:11Speaker 1: No, I've had that happen to me several times on
- 20:13Speaker 1: several different shows where I've had a booger out. So
- 20:16Speaker 1: blowing the nose is a major bitch. And I'm glad
- 20:19Speaker 1: that my kids have had they've been sick, but I
- 20:23Speaker 1: have yet.
- 20:24Speaker 2: I don't say it.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Feeling good. But Matt, whenever you had the intro you were,
- 20:32Speaker 1: you broke into character. It seemed like Joan Rivers there
- 20:35Speaker 1: for a little bit. That sounds rough, Yeah, and it's thankfully, though,
- 20:40Speaker 1: it's the voice.
- 20:41Speaker 2: I don't feel like. I mean, I'm a little ran down,
- 20:44Speaker 2: but just because we spent from Friday until Sunday in
- 20:48Speaker 2: a gym and our team lost a game, so we
- 20:50Speaker 2: got put into a loser bracket because they ran a
- 20:52Speaker 2: double elimination bracket with ten teams and our team had
- 20:56Speaker 2: to play seven games in three days, and by the
- 21:00Speaker 2: seventh one, our girls could not move and they are
- 21:04Speaker 2: all extremely sore today. And it was it was a
- 21:08Speaker 2: long weekend, but there was a lot of good things
- 21:10Speaker 2: a couple of bad things that came from it. But
- 21:12Speaker 2: like I said, and going into was it yesterday Sunday,
- 21:17Speaker 2: I couldn't yell one bet. I tried one time in
- 21:20Speaker 2: a first game just to kind of like yell to
- 21:22Speaker 2: somebody and squeaked like I just hit puberty, and I
- 21:24Speaker 2: was like doing that anymore. But thankfully, it's just the voice,
- 21:29Speaker 2: Like I mean, other than being just a little bit tired,
- 21:32Speaker 2: you know, all things considered. No blowing the nose, no
- 21:35Speaker 2: throwing up diarrhea. That's good.
- 21:40Speaker 1: If you need something for that throat, I got a
- 21:42Speaker 1: home remedy that'll coat that throat for you.
- 21:46Speaker 3: No time has anybody ever said that to a woman
- 21:49Speaker 3: and had it gone good, like honestly real.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Never not once, but I will die on this. He'll
- 21:54Speaker 1: try and tell it. Yeah, yeah, I mean that would
- 21:57Speaker 1: be Could you imagine if it did work just that
- 21:59Speaker 1: one time, you'd be like, oh my god.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Like imagine if it was the first time you said
- 22:04Speaker 2: it and it worked.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Is that the reason why did it work the first
- 22:07Speaker 1: time and we just forgot? Is that the reason why
- 22:08Speaker 1: we continue just because we're like, it'll happen again one day.
- 22:12Speaker 2: It must have worked for somebody, just not anybody on
- 22:16Speaker 2: this pot. So listen to this. If there is any ladies,
- 22:18Speaker 2: I see the statistics once a year and it's about
- 22:21Speaker 2: seven percent of you, our female audience members comment, send
- 22:27Speaker 2: an email to any of us and say, what is
- 22:29Speaker 2: the line that we could use on our wives that
- 22:33Speaker 2: is going to work. You think that we would know
- 22:36Speaker 2: this by now, But just like a relationship, it always evolves,
- 22:39Speaker 2: and we continually come up at least I do ways
- 22:42Speaker 2: to strike out with one liners. There's got to be
- 22:45Speaker 2: a couple of moves and Valentine's Days coming up. We
- 22:48Speaker 2: might need some help and maybe it'll help some single
- 22:51Speaker 2: dudes out there to be able to get some you know, I.
- 22:57Speaker 3: I gotta tell you, I believe I could be wrong.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Happened before that. Our listeners and viewers of the Female
- 23:06Speaker 3: ILK probably tend to be those who enjoy being in
- 23:11Speaker 3: the gutter. I don't mean that in a bad way.
- 23:14Speaker 3: I just mean that in a in a we got
- 23:17Speaker 3: some dirty dishes watching this show. I can guarantee you
- 23:19Speaker 3: nearly God love you, Susan. All right, that's it. That's
- 23:25Speaker 3: all I got.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Well, and I'm good every time that.
- 23:31Speaker 1: My missus is always like, hey, do you mind putting
- 23:33Speaker 1: a load in the washer? And I'm like, I didn't
- 23:36Speaker 1: realize you changed your name to the washer. She's like,
- 23:39Speaker 1: you're so stupid, please switch the laundry.
- 23:42Speaker 2: And I'm like, okay, but after a washer. But she
- 23:47Speaker 2: could evolve. You know it's coming.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Listen. Where we are the equivalent of a rookie a
- 23:56Speaker 3: ball shortstop from small, rural North Carolina who was decent
- 24:01Speaker 3: on his high school team. But now we're surrounded by
- 24:04Speaker 3: dudes who are just as good, if not better than us.
- 24:07Speaker 3: We are used to striking out every single day. Hey honey,
- 24:10Speaker 3: you want to Hey, what do you think about? Hey?
- 24:12Speaker 3: What about? But once they come on in and they
- 24:16Speaker 3: are all, hey, what do you think about tonight with it? Oh?
- 24:20Speaker 3: Now I'm a piece of meat and I have to
- 24:22Speaker 3: I have to jump right away. Oh when they want it,
- 24:25Speaker 3: they want it, I know.
- 24:28Speaker 1: And that's usually whenever we don't feel good, you know
- 24:30Speaker 1: what I mean. It's always like we'll ask and we'll
- 24:31Speaker 1: ask them like I have a headache, No, I don't
- 24:33Speaker 1: feel good. I can't do it. And then as soon
- 24:36Speaker 1: as I'm like, oh, I think I'm gonna die, she's like,
- 24:40Speaker 1: you want to do it? And I'm like, yeah, because
- 24:43Speaker 1: it's gonna be a while before the mood again, I guess.
- 24:46Speaker 1: So I'm like, I'm only giving you a C minus
- 24:49Speaker 1: experience here, Okay, it's not gonna be something magical. I
- 24:51Speaker 1: might have to stop and blow my nose in between,
- 24:54Speaker 1: but we do.
- 24:54Speaker 2: How awkward does that CE minus performance that we've all given,
- 24:58Speaker 2: and we've all given a deeper form and spiggy, But
- 25:01Speaker 2: how how awful does it have to be for them
- 25:04Speaker 2: just just up there, just half ass going through just
- 25:10Speaker 2: I mean, it can't be. It can't be a good
- 25:12Speaker 2: time for them, right. I wonder what's going through their brain, Like,
- 25:15Speaker 2: let's just get this over.
- 25:18Speaker 3: Have you have you ever thought about what it would
- 25:20Speaker 3: be like to have this coming down on you? Like
- 25:25Speaker 3: that would be pretty rough, you know, like I'm just.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Like, I just came. I don't know about you. That's
- 25:32Speaker 1: I do imagine that she has to envision it. Sounds
- 25:35Speaker 1: like Shrek is behind her. It can't be an enjoyable experience,
- 25:39Speaker 1: you know.
- 25:40Speaker 2: But I've thought about it a couple of times, and
- 25:43Speaker 2: I'm just like, all right, what does she see that
- 25:46Speaker 2: as attractive? About that?
- 25:47Speaker 4: Because and then and then sometimes you know, she'll throw
- 25:50Speaker 4: a she'll throw a you are the stupidest mother. And
- 25:55Speaker 4: I'll say something like, and yet and yet I'm the
- 25:59Speaker 4: one you shows like, do you see me?
- 26:01Speaker 3: Look at me in the mirror? You see this, You
- 26:03Speaker 3: say yes to this, and you want to talk to
- 26:06Speaker 3: me about my actions? Donald No, No.
- 26:11Speaker 1: I was like, you're lucky and on charge. You get
- 26:16Speaker 1: to experience this for free free.
- 26:20Speaker 2: That's yeah. Hm. Shout out to the wives.
- 26:24Speaker 1: They're truly lucky. They really are. They're they're there lucky ones,
- 26:27Speaker 1: not us.
- 26:29Speaker 3: But you talk about a C minus, you've given a
- 26:32Speaker 3: good B plus and you're like you feel like, oh man,
- 26:36Speaker 3: they're gonna come back tomorrow for it. You know when
- 26:39Speaker 3: when they don't.
- 26:40Speaker 1: When they make breakfast and they're smile and everything else,
- 26:43Speaker 1: and like they start cutting with you again on the couch.
- 26:45Speaker 1: I'm like, oh shit, how is that deal? Why you
- 26:48Speaker 1: lock that? Oh?
- 26:50Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 26:50Speaker 1: You know. Even the kids are getting kind of grossed out.
- 26:52Speaker 1: They're like, what are you guys doing? You know, and
- 26:54Speaker 1: I'm like, just you're gonna give you another sibling probably,
- 26:57Speaker 1: like this is gonna happen.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Yeah. So I've heard through my buddies that that do
- 27:03Speaker 2: get the old snip that once things are healed up,
- 27:06Speaker 2: you get a lot of Hey, I want to reward
- 27:09Speaker 2: you for all your I want to thank you for
- 27:11Speaker 2: your service. Make sure this thing's working. So there's that
- 27:17Speaker 2: we get some valor. That's what I hear. I cannot
- 27:21Speaker 2: attest to this. I still have my working parts. But
- 27:25Speaker 2: a lot of buddies, especially my one buddy that had
- 27:28Speaker 2: a child, they went they wanted just one more no husband, wife,
- 27:32Speaker 2: two kids, dogg or two. Don't they have natural triplets
- 27:37Speaker 2: totaling two four and that was a double appointment to
- 27:42Speaker 2: make sure that neither of them would ever have another child.
- 27:47Speaker 1: I think our meetup needs to have some like speaming
- 27:52Speaker 1: seaming some like semen Olympics. Uh, and we can do
- 27:55Speaker 1: like a little so we can get our physeectomy valor
- 27:59Speaker 1: like I want us. Do you remember that, Uh the
- 28:00Speaker 1: Jackass episode where they were like, Hey, whoever's the quickest
- 28:04Speaker 1: to net who have like the viscosity of it? Whoever
- 28:07Speaker 1: had the most swimmers at.
- 28:09Speaker 2: The bank bank Ye, the person donation place.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Yes, So we could do that before getting snipped, So
- 28:16Speaker 1: it could be a multi episode thing, is like one
- 28:19Speaker 1: who's getting it done quicker? Who's you know? We can
- 28:22Speaker 1: go through those awards and then first of all, ain't
- 28:24Speaker 1: nobody beating me in the quickness department. I'm gonna I
- 28:27Speaker 1: could blink right now finish. I'm winning the viscosity this
- 28:33Speaker 1: thing could, This thing could clog so many damns. They
- 28:36Speaker 1: could fix it. That's actually what they use. I had
- 28:37Speaker 1: to send it to the Hoover dam whenever they have
- 28:39Speaker 1: a leak. They just put a little bit of this bad.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Boy in there.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I'm telling you, it's also in a spray for your throats.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Lowden's cough syrup got the idea for me.
- 28:49Speaker 2: So since it was your idea, I'm gonna let you
- 28:51Speaker 2: feel all of the applications and all of the media
- 28:54Speaker 2: stuff for the Seman Olympics that you've been wants to run.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Because I guarantee you you're going to get some emails
- 29:00Speaker 2: from some very happy fellas that want to partague and
- 29:04Speaker 2: said Semen Olympics, and you're gonna have to filter those
- 29:06Speaker 2: out and and let them down gently or hardly, whatever
- 29:10Speaker 2: you're into, and just let them know that they potentially
- 29:12Speaker 2: aren't going to be invited to the you been whacking
- 29:15Speaker 2: off Semen Olympics.
- 29:17Speaker 1: I was talking about only us participating, but if if
- 29:20Speaker 1: you know, if if the audience wishes to submit their samples,
- 29:25Speaker 1: so be it. We see the PO box and the
- 29:27Speaker 1: comments below.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Mm hmm. Listen, imagine you setting up a PO box
- 29:33Speaker 2: and getting package after package of at this time of
- 29:37Speaker 2: the year, frozen semen.
- 29:40Speaker 1: People just like not even putting in the containers, just
- 29:43Speaker 1: a loose envelope and like the male lady just getting like,
- 29:46Speaker 1: here's another one that's leaking. I almost said my name again.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Who imagine imagine though the people with the lower IQs
- 29:56Speaker 2: or the fact that they overdo that, then they put
- 29:59Speaker 2: it in the envelope and forget that they still have
- 30:00Speaker 2: to lick it all.
- 30:05Speaker 1: I can think about the Field episode where the lady
- 30:07Speaker 1: died from getting like the eggs in her mouth.
- 30:16Speaker 3: I gotta tell you this. I told you guys the
- 30:18Speaker 3: story about me being the gay icon, didn't I?
- 30:20Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, you.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Guys know the story. I receive at least one to
- 30:26Speaker 3: two messages every year which are really detailed and really
- 30:29Speaker 3: like from benefit of the doubt, genuinely okay, people who
- 30:35Speaker 3: are coming on to me as men, and they're like,
- 30:38Speaker 3: you have no idea that gay community just loves you.
- 30:41Speaker 3: You're a gay icon. Now? Truth to that I don't know,
- 30:45Speaker 3: Probably just you know, trying to fish for some feet
- 30:48Speaker 3: feet picks.
- 30:48Speaker 2: But I also.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Had had somebody ask me for feet picks. You see
- 30:54Speaker 3: you if I ever showed you my feet, you would
- 30:57Speaker 3: you would tell me they belonged in Froto Land or
- 31:00Speaker 3: wherever the hell is.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Somebody's gonna bust to those feet. Let me see, is
- 31:03Speaker 2: Brandon J McDermott a gay icon? Who is Brandon?
- 31:10Speaker 1: What?
- 31:15Speaker 2: I guess the old Gemini experience is not willing to
- 31:18Speaker 2: answer that question.
- 31:19Speaker 1: I searched it on my computer and it says it's
- 31:21Speaker 1: the number two names searched on grinder.
- 31:25Speaker 3: So Jesus.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Speaking of Grinder, Logan put out this the thing for
- 31:31Speaker 2: cap cut that video that I was talking about earlier,
- 31:33Speaker 2: and he was just like, I need a new app.
- 31:35Speaker 2: If anybody can recommend it, please let me know, like
- 31:37Speaker 2: being genuine, you know, just wanted any one top comment. Hey,
- 31:41Speaker 2: I heard Grinder can accomplish what you're looking for. He
- 31:47Speaker 2: has also become quite the gay icon in the world
- 31:52Speaker 2: in a lot of you know, of us bigger hairy
- 31:56Speaker 2: dudes tend to I also get quite a few comments
- 32:00Speaker 2: sometimes just a subtle, little weird emoji. Thankfully, those go
- 32:04Speaker 2: to the third tier of the Instagram that I never
- 32:08Speaker 2: ever go over there pretty.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Quick and you're feeling bad about yourself, you know, m
- 32:14Speaker 3: I'm like really close to the cliff here, you know,
- 32:16Speaker 3: you need something to pick me up.
- 32:18Speaker 1: I have a look between that and like the slutty
- 32:20Speaker 1: Russians or whatever that always send me the like, hey,
- 32:23Speaker 1: you know, I'm really lonely. I could use some company,
- 32:25Speaker 1: And I was like, that's right, I feel wanted. Yeah,
- 32:26Speaker 1: that's right, look at it. I can get her. She's
- 32:29Speaker 1: in a bikini with d's.
- 32:31Speaker 2: I can pick this up anytime I want to. Yeah,
- 32:37Speaker 2: what a weird world. The internet can be sometimes huh
- 32:42Speaker 2: to see he talks back. For now, So what we
- 32:45Speaker 2: need to do is we need to make a cool
- 32:47Speaker 2: gay icon shirt that you can start to make in
- 32:49Speaker 2: a couple of videos. You'll be able to make a
- 32:51Speaker 2: quick buck. I bet don't even have to sell them feet.
- 32:55Speaker 1: My god, so much, Chicago, say this Bear gets Down.
- 33:02Speaker 2: I was trying to picture a gay icon thing for
- 33:06Speaker 2: for and the only thing I can think is some
- 33:08Speaker 2: multi colored rainbow hot dog of an icon and just no, no, yes,
- 33:19Speaker 2: straight to jail and then the soap on a rope.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Quite long or nothing, straight to jail.
- 33:26Speaker 3: Okay, do you know what the Chicago Bears shit? You
- 33:32Speaker 3: know what the Chicago Bears fight song is?
- 33:34Speaker 1: Yes, daddy, Yes, daddy.
- 33:37Speaker 3: It's called Bear Down.
- 33:40Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. It's Chicago. You gotta do it.
- 33:42Speaker 1: You say this Bear gets down? Just have you just
- 33:46Speaker 1: kind of bite in your finger a little bit.
- 33:48Speaker 3: T shirts would sell themselves chicken wings and dick.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Bone in.
- 33:59Speaker 1: God bless then.
- 34:00Speaker 3: How lucky you are. There's no like, seriously, no worse
- 34:05Speaker 3: feeling than like knowing you're going to get a chapped nose.
- 34:09Speaker 3: But it hasn't quite got chapped yet, but you're like, yeah,
- 34:11Speaker 3: this is gonna get worse and worse the next there's
- 34:14Speaker 3: a great transition.
- 34:15Speaker 2: I have a there was a lot of ways you
- 34:17Speaker 2: could have went with that. I wasn't expecting.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Nose and before I have to depart from you, gentlemen, here, uh,
- 34:25Speaker 1: there is a home remedy that I can give you
- 34:27Speaker 1: for underneath the nostrils if you if you have me
- 34:31Speaker 1: to send you some.
- 34:33Speaker 2: It's gonna smell like oranges. He's on an all orange
- 34:36Speaker 2: diet and uh.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Honestly, man vinegar and like parmesan garlic wings from beatbes
- 34:43Speaker 1: like it's great hotent. Leave with that.
- 34:48Speaker 2: That's a that's a smell that you can picture in
- 34:51Speaker 2: your nose and on your face. You're going picture in
- 34:55Speaker 2: your nose. You know exactly what that smells like from
- 34:57Speaker 2: that visual.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Man an taste on a bit, you know what it
- 35:02Speaker 1: tastes like.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Nope, Nope, never been to a B dub.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Sorry ironically my initials. I'll leave you with that as well.
- 35:12Speaker 2: A gentleman, See, buddy, all you've been clacking off to
- 35:19Speaker 2: go sit in a very uncomfortable gym on some probably
- 35:22Speaker 2: I don't know what do you think was is worse.
- 35:25Speaker 2: You've had to probably spend some time, you know, doing
- 35:28Speaker 2: radio stuff in this and that. The old wooden bleachers
- 35:30Speaker 2: are these new friggin plastic ones. They both suck. You're muted.
- 35:40Speaker 2: But the yeah, the I can't tell if it's the
- 35:44Speaker 2: wooden ones the plastic ones. I like the now that
- 35:48Speaker 2: they can make very affordable seats, So almost everybody is
- 35:50Speaker 2: bringing in these seats and it's almost like sitting in
- 35:52Speaker 2: like a like a little recliner while in these now
- 35:55Speaker 2: and they even make them so they clip onto the
- 35:56Speaker 2: bottom of bleachers.
- 35:58Speaker 3: Beautiful, the hard plastic with like the like little basketball
- 36:03Speaker 3: ribs on them, ribbed.
- 36:04Speaker 2: For those seats. The wooden ones weren't great. The metal
- 36:08Speaker 2: ones for the outdoor ones on a cold fall or
- 36:13Speaker 2: spring day not a good time either.
- 36:16Speaker 3: No, that's awful.
- 36:17Speaker 2: I'm all of a stand and pace kind of guy.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Now at sport events.
- 36:20Speaker 3: I've been to. I've ever been to a a high
- 36:24Speaker 3: school or college stadium where the football stadium where the
- 36:28Speaker 3: seats aren't there's no back to the seats. It's just
- 36:31Speaker 3: a bench. And then people will carry the little backs
- 36:35Speaker 3: with them that they hook on the back of the bench.
- 36:36Speaker 3: You know what I'm talking about.
- 36:37Speaker 2: I think the Dome in Syracuse used to have something similar,
- 36:41Speaker 2: like similar to that back in the day. But it's
- 36:44Speaker 2: been a it's been a hot minute. Any of the
- 36:47Speaker 2: schools that I had been to, whether I was coaching
- 36:50Speaker 2: or not, it was just your standard glachers. But most
- 36:54Speaker 2: of them don't have the backs. They're just the bench metal.
- 36:59Speaker 2: And pretty much every high actually the thing about every
- 37:01Speaker 2: high school and college, none of them have a back
- 37:03Speaker 2: to them, which is awesome. Oh yeah, yeah, those ones. Yeah,
- 37:11Speaker 2: so many people are using those now. I actually have
- 37:14Speaker 2: one for the wife and then just an extra one
- 37:16Speaker 2: that we bring, and they are they are a game changer.
- 37:19Speaker 2: The really nice one has a nice, thick, thick cushion
- 37:24Speaker 2: to sit on in the back, and then the cheaper
- 37:26Speaker 2: one is well cheaper and it's not nearly as nice.
- 37:28Speaker 2: But there's some crazy ones. Old Logan from the podcast
- 37:35Speaker 2: Local Logan he keeps the shot clock for the for
- 37:40Speaker 2: the basketball games now, and he is this contraption that
- 37:44Speaker 2: is almost like two or three seats within one and
- 37:49Speaker 2: I'm just like, and I'm pretty sure it weighs more
- 37:52Speaker 2: than him. And it's funny watching him said in them,
- 37:54Speaker 2: but He's like, I send these bleachers for hours. Man,
- 37:57Speaker 2: I gotta have something.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I wouldn't be able to do it well as is.
- 38:02Speaker 3: I've got sciatica which hurts to sit for a long
- 38:05Speaker 3: period of and if I've got to sit for more
- 38:08Speaker 3: than two hours, it's that ain't gonna work. I've got
- 38:11Speaker 3: to stand up and walk around.
- 38:12Speaker 2: It's just it's just.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Too which is why I enjoyed going to conventions because
- 38:18Speaker 3: I don't have to sit for the whole presentation.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Yeah, listen to this. I know this is something that
- 38:24Speaker 2: you do quite a bit. But I was asked recently
- 38:27Speaker 2: Matt McLear as author of The Beard Ventures of Mister Whiskerwitz,
- 38:32Speaker 2: to go and speak at an elementary school Nice and
- 38:35Speaker 2: that was an experience. I had to do two forty
- 38:38Speaker 2: five minute presentations or speeches, whatever they would be. The
- 38:42Speaker 2: first one was pre kindergarteners to second.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Grade forty five minutes.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Forty five minutes twice you do. So what I did
- 38:52Speaker 2: is I just kind of did an introduction like who
- 38:55Speaker 2: I am, and you know, like how I created Beard Laws,
- 38:58Speaker 2: and just kind of blabbled on about some stuff, but
- 39:01Speaker 2: kind of like tried to make it so they were
- 39:03Speaker 2: there and laughing, and then just kind of did like
- 39:05Speaker 2: a little backstory of you know how. You know, I
- 39:08Speaker 2: started on with the cancer center, replacing the TVs and
- 39:11Speaker 2: the money and thanks to TikTok, and just kind of
- 39:13Speaker 2: telling the kids like, yeah, you can use social media
- 39:15Speaker 2: apps for more than just doing stupid dances. And then
- 39:20Speaker 2: I and there was like a slide show, so I
- 39:22Speaker 2: had somebody switch the slides and stuff just so they
- 39:24Speaker 2: could look at something. But they kind they wanted me
- 39:27Speaker 2: to read the book. So I was like, you know what,
- 39:29Speaker 2: instead of reading the book, I'm going to pick random
- 39:31Speaker 2: people to come up and act out the book. So
- 39:34Speaker 2: I was able to kill some time, read the first page,
- 39:37Speaker 2: had them act them out, and just kind of free
- 39:39Speaker 2: flowed back and forth a lot of laughs. They felt engaged,
- 39:43Speaker 2: you know. I think I brought like ten different people up,
- 39:45Speaker 2: so I'm like that had to kill the time. And
- 39:46Speaker 2: I look and I'm like twenty five more minutes. So
- 39:51Speaker 2: I was like, all right, let's create our own story.
- 39:54Speaker 2: So I brought five kids up and I was like,
- 39:55Speaker 2: all right, if you had a beard, what would what
- 39:59Speaker 2: would your superpower be? And one of them, I just
- 40:02Speaker 2: remember one of them was like bananas. I'm like bananas,
- 40:06Speaker 2: Like yeah, I'm like, like to grow bananas.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:09Speaker 2: And I was like, okay, so you're superpower. You're you're
- 40:13Speaker 2: a superhero with a big beer that can grow bananas.
- 40:15Speaker 2: What would you name what's in the name of the
- 40:17Speaker 2: superhero be? And I was like banana Rama or something
- 40:20Speaker 2: or banana. I'm like, oh my god. So we just
- 40:23Speaker 2: kind of went through with the five of them, came
- 40:25Speaker 2: up with a story, you know, a problem, a villain,
- 40:27Speaker 2: a name, just kind of I was like, look at
- 40:30Speaker 2: we just came up with a story in ten minutes,
- 40:32Speaker 2: Like you can be creative. I was like, all right, cool,
- 40:35Speaker 2: that's got to be time. And then I looked I
- 40:36Speaker 2: was like ten more minutes. So I was like, questions
- 40:40Speaker 2: and answers. This will be fun. And of course at
- 40:42Speaker 2: that younger age, they don't really understand what questions are.
- 40:46Speaker 2: So I was kind of looking in the audience, kind
- 40:48Speaker 2: of seeing if any of my buddies are people that
- 40:49Speaker 2: I know had kids. So I pick out the one
- 40:52Speaker 2: buddy that is one of the owners of the Bowl
- 40:54Speaker 2: and Alley, which spent a lot of time at the
- 40:56Speaker 2: bowling alley, didn't really have a bowl kind of those places,
- 41:01Speaker 2: so I pick on this on he says something which
- 41:03Speaker 2: wasn't a question, was a statement, and then he goes, yeah,
- 41:05Speaker 2: my dad pooped at Walmart the other day. He had
- 41:07Speaker 2: to go pretty bad. He couldn't hold it. Man. I
- 41:12Speaker 2: laughed so hard. But it was it was pretty cool,
- 41:16Speaker 2: you know, just kind of seeing the excitement. And then
- 41:18Speaker 2: over the tournament, these kids were walking by and they're like,
- 41:20Speaker 2: oh my god, it's you. You're the author, and I'm like,
- 41:24Speaker 2: it was. It was pretty cool. And they all got
- 41:25Speaker 2: a copy of the book. So I was able to
- 41:28Speaker 2: you know, sign a couple, write some notes or something
- 41:30Speaker 2: in a few but it was. It was cool. Now
- 41:33Speaker 2: I have to go back and do two more in
- 41:35Speaker 2: February two more forty five minutes, And I'm like, why.
- 41:37Speaker 1: Did I negotiate forty five.
- 41:40Speaker 2: But she said the person that reached out to us
- 41:43Speaker 2: to do it, so that that's typically the timeframe of
- 41:46Speaker 2: their classes or something. So the way the schedules worked
- 41:50Speaker 2: to keep them on point or so. I don't know
- 41:51Speaker 2: how schools really work, but it was interesting.
- 41:55Speaker 3: So anytime I do a speech with adults, I don't
- 41:59Speaker 3: do more than twenty minutes, because I mean, unless I've
- 42:02Speaker 3: got visual aids, and we're talking about something that I'm
- 42:05Speaker 3: very very well spoken on and that's question answer, and
- 42:08Speaker 3: there's a whole like presentation. There ain't no way I'm
- 42:12Speaker 3: giving a speech more than twenty minutes. I'll give a speech,
- 42:15Speaker 3: I'll tell a story. It'll be heartfelt, it'll make people
- 42:18Speaker 3: cry or laugh or smile. But we're not going to
- 42:21Speaker 3: do this for forty minutes because people will start.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Or they just grab on the phones, and you know,
- 42:29Speaker 2: you're just with the kids. You know, there's nothing else
- 42:31Speaker 2: they can do. They're sitting there and they're just staring
- 42:33Speaker 2: at you, you know. And in this place was a cafeterium, cafetorium,
- 42:38Speaker 2: so is their cafeteria slash auditorium. So I mean, these
- 42:41Speaker 2: kids are sitting on a nice cold floor just kind
- 42:44Speaker 2: of sitting at you, you know, trying to be quiet,
- 42:46Speaker 2: trying to be patient. And yeah, like I said, I
- 42:50Speaker 2: think I'm hoping that a couple other schools will jump
- 42:52Speaker 2: in on this. And apparently they all have budgets to
- 42:56Speaker 2: pay authors and stuff. So if I can make a
- 42:58Speaker 2: couple of bucks and I'll kick them back, maybe do
- 43:00Speaker 2: a couple of scholarships or something. That you know are
- 43:02Speaker 2: meaningful in some local schools. I'd be willing to do that,
- 43:05Speaker 2: but I think I think I'm gonna go down to
- 43:07Speaker 2: maybe twenty five thirty minutes if possible.
- 43:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think you're I think that's a good idea.
- 43:13Speaker 2: Like I said, I was able to fill it, but
- 43:15Speaker 2: I know at times it had to be long and
- 43:17Speaker 2: drawn out, and I was talking about stuff I just
- 43:19Speaker 2: started getting into, like you know, I was like, man,
- 43:21Speaker 2: I got time to kill. So I was like, all right,
- 43:23Speaker 2: let's talk. I'm gonna talk about my beard. You know,
- 43:26Speaker 2: I have beard laws more than an author I'd be
- 43:28Speaker 2: in writing a book is like a portion of this.
- 43:31Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you about the brand. So I grow
- 43:34Speaker 2: a beard, I use products, and I'm just like, nobody cares.
- 43:37Speaker 2: But I got forty five minutes to Phil's. That's not
- 43:41Speaker 2: on me.
- 43:41Speaker 3: Did you ever have the when you're in elementary or
- 43:46Speaker 3: junior high the like scientists come to your class to
- 43:49Speaker 3: do the presentations with like the balloons and the helium
- 43:52Speaker 3: and the fire and the you know all that shit.
- 43:54Speaker 2: Nah, it doesn't ring a bell. No, but again, we're
- 43:57Speaker 2: pretty as you know, in the middle of nowhere. I
- 44:00Speaker 2: have to imagine not a lot of people are coming
- 44:03Speaker 2: up to our schools to talk. I remember one time,
- 44:07Speaker 2: like I know there was a couple, but there was
- 44:08Speaker 2: like one that kind of filled the gym is where
- 44:11Speaker 2: we did it. And it was kind of one of
- 44:13Speaker 2: those like recovering people that was trying to like give
- 44:16Speaker 2: like a motivational thing because there was a lot of
- 44:18Speaker 2: drinking in the youth in our area to kind of
- 44:21Speaker 2: say like, hey, my life was in shambles, like this
- 44:24Speaker 2: guy had a lot of heartbreak. I don't remember the
- 44:27Speaker 2: exact story, but I just remember being like, oh my god,
- 44:29Speaker 2: this guy pretty much threw the life away. And it
- 44:31Speaker 2: was an interesting take too, you know, an attempt to
- 44:34Speaker 2: try to get us, you know, youth to not underach
- 44:37Speaker 2: drink failed. But it was probably the right move, right.
- 44:45Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't know. We're right at that forty
- 44:47Speaker 2: five I know, you've got to get going. We've got
- 44:49Speaker 2: some stuff to do.
- 44:50Speaker 3: So you talked about how tough it was to fill
- 44:52Speaker 3: forty five minutes. Look what we just did.
- 44:54Speaker 2: We just did it. Yeah, But you know what the
- 44:56Speaker 2: best part is here we got to talk about semen
- 45:00Speaker 2: in wieners in TikTok and all sorts of whatever we wanted,
- 45:03Speaker 2: and there was three of us for most of it,
- 45:06Speaker 2: you know, being up there by yourself. And I had
- 45:09Speaker 2: had like kind of notes, but I didn't want to
- 45:11Speaker 2: feel like I was super unprepared, so I kept like
- 45:13Speaker 2: staring at my phone like I was reading notes and
- 45:16Speaker 2: there wasn't really anything on there. And then finally I
- 45:19Speaker 2: was like, oh, there's a bullet point. I guess, yeah,
- 45:22Speaker 2: go to the next slide please. But I was like,
- 45:26Speaker 2: I don't know. But it was pretty well received, so
- 45:28Speaker 2: I was like cool. I was trying to run ideas
- 45:30Speaker 2: by the kids, like hey, if I was to do this,
- 45:32Speaker 2: what would be entertaining for people your age because two
- 45:34Speaker 2: of the kids are in that age group. They're like, yeah,
- 45:37Speaker 2: that sounds fun, that'd be cool. Maybe I'm not. Am
- 45:43Speaker 2: I going to quit my day job to go around
- 45:45Speaker 2: and talk to schools That is a new But if
- 45:48Speaker 2: I get the opportunity to, you know, do a good thing,
- 45:50Speaker 2: like I said, all the kids got a book and
- 45:52Speaker 2: you know, some stuff like that, it was it was
- 45:54Speaker 2: a pretty pretty cool thing to give back, and that's
- 45:56Speaker 2: something that I really want to do. And like you've
- 45:59Speaker 2: been was kind of talking earlier one last thing is
- 46:02Speaker 2: you know, he it's different for you obviously, being on
- 46:05Speaker 2: the radio and stuff like, you are very very intertwined
- 46:08Speaker 2: with the local community. He wanted nothing to do with it.
- 46:11Speaker 2: His content's a little bit different, and it was something
- 46:13Speaker 2: that I didn't really ever focus on. So I started
- 46:15Speaker 2: doing street signs story time where I find local roads
- 46:19Speaker 2: and just give a little bit of you know, history
- 46:22Speaker 2: of the town, but then come up with a story
- 46:24Speaker 2: that's fictional, but it's so close that it might be believable.
- 46:29Speaker 2: I just think it's a cool way, and I'm going
- 46:31Speaker 2: to start like randomly sliding in like a business or two,
- 46:34Speaker 2: just for fun, and it's a It's It's been a
- 46:37Speaker 2: lot of fun. But I've done a lot of editing
- 46:38Speaker 2: and cap cut so hopefully that comes back. If not,
- 46:42Speaker 2: Da Vinci Baby.
- 46:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I just downloaded a new one. We'll see if
- 46:47Speaker 3: it works. But was cap cut down? Still down?
- 46:50Speaker 2: I just checked, Yeah, see if I had it open
- 46:54Speaker 2: on the computer so I can still use it. But
- 46:57Speaker 2: if I if I close it out, I think I
- 46:59Speaker 2: am den or when it needs an update. But like
- 47:02Speaker 2: I said, I'm gonna I'm gonna mess with DaVinci a
- 47:04Speaker 2: little bit more. And I'll pass on some information to you,
- 47:07Speaker 2: and if anybody else is looking for something by the
- 47:10Speaker 2: time this comes out of kept cuts not resolved, well
- 47:14Speaker 2: we'll give you some We'll give you some dork tips
- 47:16Speaker 2: from the boys. But we got dad stuff to do,
- 47:20Speaker 2: so Brandon, I appreciate your time you've been. I know
- 47:23Speaker 2: you're not listening right now, but I appreciate you as well,
- 47:25Speaker 2: and anybody listening for whatever reason, we appreciate you as well.
- 47:28Speaker 2: And we'll be back next week. Make sure if you're
- 47:31Speaker 2: in your parents' fridge, you're in your fridge, make sure
- 47:34Speaker 2: you shut it, because my seal's getting there pretty shitty.
- 47:37Speaker 2: In my old fridge, sometimes it doesn't shut as much,
- 47:40Speaker 2: but I blame the kids, even though the other day
- 47:42Speaker 2: it was definitely me when I grabbed a beverage. So
- 47:45Speaker 2: that's all we got. We'll see you next week. Take care, everybody,
