- 0:54Please welcome Carlton, WA. What's up guys?
- 0:58Thanks for. Welcome back to the show,
- 0:59Carlton, It's great to have you on again.
- 1:02Always a pleasure. Same, same.
- 1:04Well today we are going to tackle the topic of peptides,
- 1:09very hot topic in our industry today, which started and came in
- 1:12very strong with weight loss peptides, but has since really
- 1:17expanded and excited to talk about that with you today as
- 1:20well as we are going to talk about NAD which is no doubt one
- 1:23of the hottest topics also in our industry.
- 1:26So very excited to jump in. So Carlton, the listeners and
- 1:31the viewers who have seen you on the show before, they know your
- 1:33background, but if you don't mind giving us a 2 minute
- 1:36elevator pitch of why you are here and talking about these
- 1:39peptides? Awesome.
- 1:41So yeah, Carlton Washington thanks you for having me.
- 1:44And I met Randy many years ago organically by trying to get my
- 1:49business off the ground. I was a depressed banker who
- 1:54really wanted to do something different that was meaningful
- 1:57and I wanted out the bank. And so the only thing that was
- 2:01meaningful in my life at the time was the Wellness therapies
- 2:04that I was getting from a clinic that I was going through that
- 2:06only offered a couple things. And at the time, I was a young
- 2:09guy. I wanted to be able to party
- 2:11like I was in my 20s forever. I wanted to look like I did in
- 2:15my 20s forever. And I utilized IV therapy, TRT,
- 2:20was exercising and trying to do all these things and was like,
- 2:24hey, well this is stuff that I believe in.
- 2:26I can't sell something if I don't believe in it.
- 2:28So started a company with my partner called Forever Young in
- 2:31Boca Raton. Really just trying to get out of
- 2:33the rat race and out of corporate.
- 2:35And never in a million years that I think we're going to have
- 2:37even more than one location. But Fast forward now, we're at
- 2:41about 65 plus locations and growing that are open right now
- 2:45in about 24 states. And really I always tell people
- 2:49the only reason I know about any of this stuff is because I'm
- 2:50selfish and I want to live as long as I can, but not just
- 2:54live, I want to be optimal as long as I can.
- 2:57And so anything that's going to do that, I selfishly try to
- 3:01learn about Guinea pig, use it, let my family know about it and
- 3:05then my patients. And so that's what brings me
- 3:08here now. I really just talked about this
- 3:10business from the industry just because.
- 3:13I need it. And I'm still in the business
- 3:15even after selling a portion of it to private equity because I
- 3:18can't live without what we do. And so I was going to remain
- 3:21close to it. And I think it's exciting.
- 3:25Well, Carlton, we've been friends for many years now.
- 3:27I think it's about 10 years. I was growing my business, you
- 3:31were growing yours and it was a great experience to work
- 3:34together. You let me test all of my brand
- 3:37haired theories on you and I appreciate it and we've had a
- 3:40lot of success together. But one thing that I've really
- 3:44loved about watching you grow is that you really walk the talk,
- 3:48which people can tell you to do certain things, but you actually
- 3:52do it. And you are, if you don't mind
- 3:54me asking, I believe in your 40s now.
- 3:56Yeah, 45 years old. OK, so you're 45 and if you guys
- 4:00get the chance to follow Carlton on social media, you will see
- 4:04that Carlton has the body of a 28 year old.
- 4:08You know he's got the whole 6 pack.
- 4:10I don't know, maybe it's even 8 pack Carlton, but you've got.
- 4:12What time of year? Yeah.
- 4:15So you've got that going and you're in the shape of your life
- 4:18and always look like 1,000,000 bucks.
- 4:20And clearly to get to that at age 45, it's 100 times harder
- 4:26than people remember in their 20s.
- 4:28So I know how hard you're working and I know how
- 4:30passionate you are about making sure that you have this optimal
- 4:34result and then you're passing that on to your patients.
- 4:37So that's why I get so excited about talking with you.
- 4:40So today we're going to jump into the peptides and just see
- 4:44how we go from there. So we couldn't ignore the
- 4:47elephant in the room, which are the weight loss peptides, which
- 4:49is really how this frenzy started.
- 4:51Now, I know you've been talking about and working with peptides
- 4:55for many years, but the rest of us really started learning more
- 4:58about what a peptide is. After the weight loss peptides,
- 5:02the GLP ones joined the party, right?
- 5:04And then we started learning more about that.
- 5:06So let's spend just a few minutes talking about the weight
- 5:10loss peptides. You know, they've obviously been
- 5:12the biggest headline. What, to you, has stood out the
- 5:16most about how it's changed people's lives?
- 5:21Yeah. So great question.
- 5:22And when anybody brings this topic up, I try to keep it real
- 5:27about the GLP ones and the products you're talking about.
- 5:31What we started in this industry and Wellness, it was really
- 5:35against the big pharma companies.
- 5:39So they don't like what we do, they don't like what we do.
- 5:42I don't think it's a secret. I think it's bad for bottom line
- 5:45what Wellness clinics do typically for big pharma.
- 5:50And so the only big pharma that we work with really was on the
- 5:53aesthetic side. But in terms of these products,
- 5:56look, there's some pros. The pros are, is that some
- 5:59people and many people these days, they are fighting
- 6:02self-control, they're fighting discipline, they're fighting
- 6:05routine and they're fighting the most advanced marketing on the
- 6:09planet. And I'm not talking about
- 6:11pharmaceutical market, I'm talking about marketing of food,
- 6:14drinks, lifestyle, sugar, candy, whatever you want to call and
- 6:19sedative lifestyle and so. I.
- 6:22Think for the first time. And I'm just assuming this.
- 6:26This may not be a fact that Big Pharma was like, hey, look, you
- 6:29got a whole bunch of Carlton's and Forever Young's out there,
- 6:34you know, kind of dragging on our bottom line or a little bit.
- 6:36And they discovered this product that was for something else
- 6:40originally, mainly also for diabetics.
- 6:43And they're like, wow, Well, all of a sudden this thing's not
- 6:45only helping people lose weight drastically, it's also making
- 6:49them not want to do other cravings like smoke cigarettes
- 6:52or drink alcohol or even do certain drugs for addicts.
- 6:55And so now in comes the marketing.
- 6:58And if you notice, the marketing came on strong, not with your
- 7:02typical ads, but with celebrity endorsements, kind of an organic
- 7:06influencer type of way. And So what happened with this
- 7:09drug is it really came and took us by storm because we were so
- 7:13adamant about never working with something like that before that
- 7:16were like, whoa, why does everybody want a weight loss
- 7:18drug? Because we always knew prior to
- 7:20that there was no magic pill. And so now someone comes along
- 7:24and says, hey, there's a magic pill.
- 7:26And so there's good and there's bad.
- 7:28Too many things of this product has helped many people who
- 7:32cannot either create that routine or who cannot fight, in
- 7:38my opinion, the luring that the marketing does, which all of us
- 7:41suffer from. Like, every weekend I have to go
- 7:43get my pancakes and I drenched them in syrup.
- 7:46Now I do it once a week. But hey, I mean, I want to do it
- 7:50every day. And I think, you know, some of
- 7:51us don't know what that's doing. And so I think that these GOP
- 7:55ones, which are actually peptides, they're synthetic
- 7:57peptides, actually have helped quite a number of people, so
- 8:01much so that it is actually hurt the bottom line of major brands,
- 8:07major food brands, major franchise brands.
- 8:09You know, your crafts, your Nabisco's, your McDonald's
- 8:12franchises, your Wendy's, all of them have sales down.
- 8:15Not to mention you have over 15% drop in alcohol sales as well,
- 8:19which they say is just young people, but I think it's a
- 8:22combination of young people and other people stopping cravings.
- 8:26So those GOP ones do a lot. They don't burn fat.
- 8:30What people need to understand is that they basically trick
- 8:33your body into thinking that you're either full or that you
- 8:36have enough nutrients to go on. And then the body actually tries
- 8:40to use some of the nutrients that's stored to live.
- 8:43And so if you mitigate it properly, I got to say properly,
- 8:48then this can be a good thing. Personally, if I was talking to.
- 8:52An average person. I'm going to tell them that
- 8:55micro dosing this is the best thing to do because otherwise
- 8:59building a long term reliance I don't believe is there out to
- 9:04go. I think this is a pathway to a
- 9:05better lifestyle. And so yeah, you take the weight
- 9:08off, maybe you get some orthopedic relief, knees, back,
- 9:12elbows, shoulders, then you got a great opportunity to go back
- 9:16to the gym and combine that with some healthy lifestyle choices,
- 9:20which doesn't mean you're on a diet.
- 9:22I hate telling people. I know when we grew up,
- 9:24everything was about diet, like the Jenny Craig diet, all of the
- 9:28different things, the special diets, the fin, fin, all that
- 9:31type of stuff that didn't work for most people.
- 9:34And if they did, a lot of it wasn't healthy for most people.
- 9:37So I think it's an interesting alternative for people.
- 9:40We were slow to bring it on it for every young because I think
- 9:44as founders we were always in, are still today so dialed in on
- 9:50lifestyle, lifestyle, lifestyle. And so I still don't think you
- 9:54can get around the lifestyle part of it, but I think it's a
- 9:56great way to jumpstart a healthy lifestyle.
- 9:58And again, emphasis on the word jumpstart.
- 10:02You know, forever. I don't know.
- 10:04For a time period, absolutely. This stuff does work and we've
- 10:08had staff members and in patients who have lost
- 10:11significant amounts of weight. I'm sure everybody that's
- 10:14listening to this, including yourself, has seen people who
- 10:16have lost significant amounts of weight.
- 10:18So there's benefits, but moderation I think is key.
- 10:23Yes, I have seen friends, family just change their lives
- 10:27completely from it. I do think it's a bit of a
- 10:29miracle for a lot of people that couldn't get past what they were
- 10:33doing, their eating habits. I think it's great.
- 10:36But I agree with you. I think that we have to keep
- 10:38everything in balance. I do think it's helping the
- 10:42country with a lot, you know, a lot of people in this country to
- 10:45just get over their food addictions and whatnot.
- 10:48So one thing I just want to close this topic out with this,
- 10:51what's coming next. I have heard that there are at
- 10:54least 15 new weight loss peptides in in clinical trials
- 10:59and about to be released. And I think they're focusing
- 11:02more on turning those into a pill form because in some of the
- 11:08talks about this before, more than 25% of people in this
- 11:13country are afraid of needles, have a fear of needles.
- 11:16Yeah, I forget about that guy. We're so used to them.
- 11:18I forget about that. Yeah, about that part.
- 11:21So there's a lot of people that haven't dived into these weight
- 11:24loss medications simply because they're afraid of needles.
- 11:27So we're going to see a lot more in the pill form.
- 11:30I was reading the studies that are going on this past weekend,
- 11:33so we're going to see a lot more coming.
- 11:35So excited for that. And I agree, a lot of people
- 11:38were slow to jump on clinics and doctors, but I think that it's
- 11:43been a good thing for our country overall and I think the
- 11:46quality will just get better over time.
- 11:48Yeah. And to know on the needle thing
- 11:51and I told this to my mom and I told this to a lot of other
- 11:54people when we consult. Well as people look, first and
- 11:57foremost, peptide needles really don't hurt your nerve ending.
- 12:01The only nerve sensitivity is right on the skin under there.
- 12:05There isn't any when you're going into subcutaneous fat.
- 12:08So look to everybody that's worried about needles.
- 12:11Here's the thing, I'm in the hospital.
- 12:13Every so often you walk down the halls and I always tell my mom,
- 12:17you want to pick the needles that go into you.
- 12:19You're right. I'd rather pick the subcutaneous
- 12:22needle used for GLP one any day. I know before we got on the call
- 12:27and you're talking about what's latest and greatest in terms of
- 12:30the weight loss and what's coming next.
- 12:32And I think we discussed that Mots that C peptide and this
- 12:38peptide is supposedly, we don't offer this yet and I want to,
- 12:41but it is supposedly like an exercise in a shot in a way and
- 12:46it resets your metabolism. And so that's going to be really
- 12:50exciting to see and try. I wouldn't mind Guinea picking
- 12:53that one myself. The weight loss shot is a dream
- 12:56for many. For me the fitness shot would be
- 12:59the dream come true because I'm a person who does not work out
- 13:03and does not like to work out. So I'm very good test dummy for
- 13:06that one, so. Looking forward, absolutely, I
- 13:09think a lot of people would agree.
- 13:11Looking forward to that. I get in my 10,000 steps a day
- 13:15but I'm not a workout person but definitely would love to try
- 13:18that and see how it works. So let's dive into what I think
- 13:22is the the hottest topic right now is NAD, which is not a
- 13:28peptide. And let's talk about what you're
- 13:31seeing with Nadi want to know everything about it.
- 13:34Our listeners, our viewers want to know about NAD, how it's
- 13:37changing people's lives. People are telling stories of
- 13:40it's turning back the clock 10/15/20 years that they're
- 13:44feeling like they never felt before.
- 13:45Their minds, their bodies. And I know that you take it.
- 13:48So I'd love to talk to you about it.
- 13:50So let's first clarify what NAD is and why.
- 13:54Why is it not a peptide? What is it exactly?
- 13:56So anything is a master coenzyme, it's an enzyme, but a
- 14:00peptides are typically a strand of amino acids, amino acids,
- 14:04proteins are built up out of the amino acids and these are amino
- 14:07acids are usually between 123 or 50 different amino acid
- 14:10combinations that send signals to your body to tell it what to
- 14:14do. It's a hack.
- 14:15And so with the enzyme though with NAD, and this is my
- 14:20explanation, I always want to tell you I'm not a doctor and
- 14:22I'm not a scientist. I'm a guy that experimented with
- 14:25a lot of different stuff and before it probably became
- 14:28popular and when it became OK to offer, we have patient data
- 14:33feedback that's real time and including ourselves and
- 14:37including our families. And so that's where about my
- 14:39data information comes from, comes from sitting down and
- 14:41talking to people, thousands of people about their results.
- 14:45And then really from my own experience.
- 14:47And so just to give a quick update on what Nad kind of is,
- 14:51It's interesting because I feel like we've been talking about
- 14:53these things for years, but now the Wellness community is like,
- 14:57oh, wow, Nadi was at a conference the other day and and
- 15:00Gary Brecco was like standing right there and some other guys
- 15:04and they were basically saying like, dude, we're only like 13%
- 15:10penetrated Max. And as to what the consumer or
- 15:15the population understands about this stuff.
- 15:17So when we talk about NAD, if I go into a family reunion,
- 15:20they're like, what the hell are you talking about?
- 15:22But we spend all day long around people talking about this,
- 15:26vendors, patients, whatever. So it's like, dude, we've been
- 15:29talking about this for 5-6 years.
- 15:31So my first experience with NAD to just give people a real world
- 15:35idea what this is. I had avoided COVID the whole
- 15:38time in late 2019, early 2020, Thought I was bulletproof.
- 15:42My wife had it so many different times and I went out to party
- 15:45one night and in a really tight atmosphere right when that
- 15:48vaccine came out and all the second variants were coming out.
- 15:52So finally I got COVID and I didn't get regular COVID.
- 15:55I got like the 16 day version of COVID and I had a boxing match
- 16:01that I was training for for about four months and the boxing
- 16:05match was 30 days out. And so I'm sitting there crying
- 16:08to myself like, dude, you're done.
- 16:11There's you're going to have to cancel this.
- 16:12You told everybody it's on a billboard, you're advertising,
- 16:15there's no way you're going to be able to box.
- 16:18And so I'm like freaking out, like, what do I do?
- 16:20So I'm like, I'm going to try everything.
- 16:21So as soon as I got the clearance, I was like, guys,
- 16:25hook me up to the Nadi hadn't tried it yet.
- 16:27I was like, put me on. So they put me on the 1000 and
- 16:30the liter bag. I think I did like 750 to 1000
- 16:33milligrams of NAD. And next thing you know, I lost
- 16:3815 lbs. In that time period, no training
- 16:42at all. I was back the next day in the
- 16:46gym, not even like I missed a beat and sharper than I was
- 16:51prior. And the only way I could
- 16:53describe it anybody was I was feeling and moving and thinking
- 16:57like I was 16 years old. And to give a visual to someone,
- 17:02it's movie with Bradley Cooper, which was called Limitless.
- 17:06Where he's got that experimental drug that he's taking and he's
- 17:09literally running circles around people.
- 17:11That is how I felt. And so, yeah, that's NADNAD to
- 17:16me, if I'm going to put it into layman's terms, is like taking
- 17:19somebody that has a battery and it's.
- 17:22Half charge and. When you do an AD, when you put
- 17:25that enzyme in your body, you are now fully charging the body
- 17:29and that is fully charging your mind.
- 17:31It's fully charging your energy and it's not in a stimulant
- 17:35manner. It is in like a clean focus,
- 17:38pure feeling that you have that allows you to do things that are
- 17:42optimal. Level a lot better.
- 17:43Than other people so much so that I cannot drink a lot of
- 17:47caffeine or coffee with this because it actually gets
- 17:51annoying because you're doing too much at that point.
- 17:56And so I had to back it down. And it's funny because many
- 18:01people, especially men do get a side effect when they're doing
- 18:05the IV during the IV, which basically gives you like a flush
- 18:09feeling and a palpitation. So it's a long term IV.
- 18:13And so that's the thing that stops me sometimes because I'm
- 18:16always on the go and I have to be patient and take about 3
- 18:20hours to do this. Now I'll be honest with people
- 18:23as well. I am the Guinea pig guy all the
- 18:25time. And so I know this because that
- 18:28only is it an indication. But I have also tried to use a
- 18:32pressurized IV pump to force in AD faster.
- 18:38And by doing that, I mess myself up twice because what it's doing
- 18:41is it also repairs cellular damage and that cellular damage
- 18:47turns into waste in the system. So I have flooded my body with
- 18:51toxic shock twice because I didn't follow instructions and I
- 18:56did NAD +2 fast. This is not common.
- 18:58It's not going to happen if you listen to your nerves.
- 19:00I didn't listen. But what I'll tell you is it's
- 19:03also an indication of just how powerful and what it's doing.
- 19:07So imagine something going into your body and basically reading
- 19:11it of that type of material all at one time.
- 19:15Yeah. I was going to ask you if there
- 19:17are any side effects to it. Yeah, you just need to do it
- 19:20slow. And anybody that knows me will
- 19:21tell you I'm very hard headed. I want to do everything fast.
- 19:25You got to do it slow, but other than that doing it slow.
- 19:28You could do it. Via IV, it needs to be diluted.
- 19:31You don't want to push it like an IV push because again, it
- 19:34needs to be diluted. And also there's many different
- 19:37ways you can do this. I tell people the IV is like a
- 19:40loading dose. So it loads and charges the
- 19:43battery. But then like a cell phone, your
- 19:46battery starts to deplete. So if you want to keep it
- 19:48restored, doesn't mean to do it IV all the time.
- 19:51You can do the nasal spray. You can also do subcutaneous
- 19:54injection. Some people also do
- 19:56intramuscular injection. Have you tried all of those and
- 19:59are they as effective? Yes, the subcutaneous injection
- 20:02is really effective, especially if you've already done the IV.
- 20:05It's very effective. One thing I will tell people,
- 20:08don't buy these oral NAD supplements.
- 20:11There's like 100 of them out there.
- 20:13Don't buy them. Oral does not work.
- 20:16You're not going to get the benefit.
- 20:17I don't care what the advertisement says, it doesn't
- 20:19work. OK, that's, that's good to know.
- 20:23Well, that's an amazing story. So how often do you need to get
- 20:28the IV? Sounds like that's like the
- 20:30major battery charge. And then you can in between you
- 20:33can use the injections or the nasal spray, that kind of thing.
- 20:38So how often would you recommend doing the IV?
- 20:41So it depends. So you have a couple different
- 20:43kind of patients out there. You have patients that you know,
- 20:46obviously they're watching budget and you have some
- 20:49patients when it comes to Wellness, there is no budget.
- 20:51So if you're a patient that's watching budget, my personal
- 20:55advice, again I'm not a doctor, scientist, is to do the loading
- 20:581000 milliliter bag, the largest dose first and then to order
- 21:03yourself the subcutaneous injectable in AD to keep it
- 21:07going. And then if you're watching your
- 21:09budget, I would probably do those quarterly, but I would do
- 21:13the other dosing during the week, like 5 days on, two days
- 21:16off. With that, if you don't care and
- 21:20Wellness is your everything, then do the loading IV once a
- 21:25month with either the nasal spray in the morning or the
- 21:30subcutaneous injection in the morning as well.
- 21:32And that's going to keep you like 100 the whole time.
- 21:34OK. And so you're saying for a
- 21:37budget conscious, do it quarterly if you're not worried
- 21:41about budget? And what is the approximate cost
- 21:44of an IV for NAD? Depending on where you go, I
- 21:47mean, these things are going to run you, you know, 540-9500 to
- 21:51about 7:50 if you're going to go to some clinic that presents
- 21:56itself as elite, which just simply means cost more typically
- 22:00than probably could be 1000, could be $1200.
- 22:02It just depends. I would also advise your
- 22:05listeners go to somewhere that you feel comfortable, makes you
- 22:08feel comfortable, where people are trustworthy.
- 22:11And look, everybody needs to make a profit if you're running
- 22:14a business, but don't get your head knocked off.
- 22:18Yes, yes, great way to say it. So NAD sounds like it really is
- 22:24the next, I guess spectrum of what is going to happen.
- 22:27I mean the fact that you're saying how much better you feel
- 22:31taking this and obviously you have it at your disposal all the
- 22:35time. I think that we only just
- 22:37touched the surface of that. Do you think that NAD is going
- 22:40to become as mainstream as the weight loss peptides eventually?
- 22:44No. And you know, you want to know
- 22:46what can you take a guess? I'll give you a guess.
- 22:47Why? I was going to say cost at
- 22:49first, but the weight loss medicines are pretty high.
- 22:52Well, the cost is going to be the obvious one, but there's
- 22:55another reason. I kind of alluded to her
- 22:57earlier, but I'll give you one more guess.
- 23:00Let me think, maybe just people thinking it's too much.
- 23:04No, it's the thing that we find in Wellness all the time and
- 23:08which is the difference between a lot of your well population
- 23:11and your sick care population. It's consistency and routine.
- 23:15It's consistency, routine, discipline.
- 23:17So you know, in order for these things to work long term, it's
- 23:21got to be part of your lifestyle.
- 23:22It's got to be part of your lifestyle.
- 23:24You can't be like, do this like 6 months later.
- 23:27And that's what we see in the clinics.
- 23:29You know, I think you would probably say that you see that
- 23:31on aesthetics and in Wellness. You have women that are adamant
- 23:35about their memberships or they're doing their touch ups
- 23:39and that routine skin care. And you see these women, you're
- 23:43like, Oh my God, like they have $1,000,000 skin.
- 23:46You could tell. And then you have people that
- 23:48are the opposite and it just doesn't work that way.
- 23:51So you're. Right, you're right.
- 23:53When people talk about skin yes, I mean I'm obsessed with taking
- 23:57care of my skin and if I slack, I can tell right away.
- 23:59So, OK, so you're right, the consistency, well, I'm excited
- 24:03about Nadi have yet to try it, but I think I should so.
- 24:08I can be, absolutely, but you might get too productive though.
- 24:11Yeah, I am a little hyper as it is, so that would be a lot.
- 24:15But I would probably probably try it in the small dose first
- 24:17just to see how I felt from it and see how that goes.
- 24:20What percentage of your patients have tried NAD at this point?
- 24:25This is still a minority situation in terms of people.
- 24:29It's the same type of people that like wear whoops, the whoop
- 24:33band, you know, or who are obsessed with their Fitbit,
- 24:36their whoop or metrics. Those are the type people that
- 24:40do this kind of stuff still. And so sometimes people when
- 24:43they talk about the Wellness industry, they're like, we're
- 24:45just getting started. It's so big.
- 24:47But again, the medical weight loss industry is huge.
- 24:52Well, in this industry, it's still requires some discipline.
- 24:56And so if I had to guess, I'd say like 8%, OK, that's a guess
- 25:02on top of. That I figured it was very low.
- 25:05All right now in other exciting peptides, there are many
- 25:09peptides with strange names and numbers that people have started
- 25:12talking about. I know my husband takes a
- 25:14cocktail of different peptides and he swears, you know that
- 25:17helps him recover better workouts, better recovery.
- 25:21So outside of weight loss, let's start talking about what are the
- 25:25top peptides that are being used right now.
- 25:28One that I keep hearing a lot about is BP 157 and that's a hot
- 25:341 and that one is the recovery peptide, right, so.
- 25:39Yeah, so about that. Yeah.
- 25:40BBC 157. Or.
- 25:43Penta deca arginate peptide is very popular now.
- 25:48Again, this has been out for years and is a little
- 25:51controversial because it works. Like if you talk to anybody
- 25:54about this, it works. And again, I'm a little
- 25:58conspiracy minded and I don't necessarily it's conspiracy.
- 26:01I think it's just business. This is something that can
- 26:03impact orthopedics and people like that.
- 26:07Because what happens is this became really big in the fitness
- 26:11community, bodybuilding community, because it helps
- 26:14prepare tissue and it helps repair damage.
- 26:17And, and so you have people that are fixing certain injuries with
- 26:21BPC 157, they're healing faster. And so it was the best kept
- 26:26secret for a while. There was some pushback on it
- 26:29because again, I'm a little conspiracy minded, but I think
- 26:34Big Pharma wanted to be able to utilize these things, patent
- 26:37these things. Because if they work.
- 26:39They're popular and the public has gotten access to them.
- 26:42And so this peptide goes and helps to rapidly heal injuries.
- 26:47And so people who are active have been very, very keen on it.
- 26:53And even myself right now, I'm healing from some issues.
- 26:56Right now, I have two bottles in my refrigerator and I'm taking
- 26:59it every single night. Why not?
- 27:01Because, you know, anything that's going to make us feel
- 27:03faster, that's what we want. It's been termed or deemed The
- 27:06Wolverine drug Wolverine after Wolverine from X-Men because the
- 27:11wrath of healing. Yeah, that's one of the ones
- 27:14that my husband Justin takes and he swears by it.
- 27:16And he went off of it for a couple years just, you know,
- 27:20like you said, consistency or change, and then he went back on
- 27:23and he said it was an unbelievable difference.
- 27:25So I guess that's a big one. Now let's talk about AOD 96-O
- 27:31four. And that's supposed to be
- 27:32another fat burning peptide, right?
- 27:35Yes. And there's probably going to be
- 27:38people who listen to this who disagree with me, but I'm just
- 27:41going to shoot it to you straight.
- 27:42I've used that and I'm not very impressed and I don't know what
- 27:47to say. I didn't find it to be
- 27:49worthwhile for fat loss. You already discussed today that
- 27:54there are other peptides out there like GOP ones that can
- 27:58help people lose weight. Now, again, GOP ones aren't my
- 28:01favorite, but I'd rather refer someone to do that than to do
- 28:05AOD. It's just not the type of
- 28:07peptide that's going to keep somebody running back and with
- 28:10results or saying hey, with a testimony like hey, I want more
- 28:13of this. Now since we're on peptides and
- 28:16we're on weight loss and fat loss peptides, there is
- 28:20something that I'm extremely excited about.
- 28:23Again, this has been out for a few years, but it's still not as
- 28:27popular as it needs to be. And that is Tessa Moreland.
- 28:31I probably should be wearing a Tessa Moreland shirt right now
- 28:33because it is the most amazing peptide that I have seen offered
- 28:38where you know as a business person or someone that's trying
- 28:43to help someone, you always want to have return business and you
- 28:47always want to be able to deliver on what you're telling
- 28:50the patient. You put somebody on Tessa
- 28:53Moreland, they're going to come back.
- 28:55Fanatical About Tessa Moreland Tessa Moreland was a peptide
- 29:01designed to originally help HIV and AIDS patients.
- 29:04Because basically when they were taking all those medications
- 29:07just to stay alive, there's so much toxicity with those things.
- 29:11It builds up in the body and it builds a great deal of stored
- 29:14fat and visceral fat. So if you ever see somebody
- 29:17that's AIDS or HIV positive and they're on those meds, a lot of
- 29:20time you will see that they have somewhat of a distinction in
- 29:24their stomach. It's a giveaway for that type of
- 29:26medication. And so this medication literally
- 29:29goes in and gets rid of visceral fat and store fat.
- 29:36So what that means is visceral fat also is the fact that they
- 29:39measure when they're looking for your health span, when they're
- 29:41looking at overall health with fat around your organs, it goes
- 29:44in there and reduces this drastically.
- 29:47And So what happens is someone can get on this and in one
- 29:51month, two months, three months, if we measure their body
- 29:53composition and just the way they look, this person is going
- 29:57to come back like, Oh my God, thank you so much, I'm down. 2%
- 30:01body fat first month, another 2% body fat next month, another 3%
- 30:05body fat next month. And they're just going to be
- 30:07like, this is amazing. I've never got results from
- 30:09anything like this before. And it's from Tessa Moreland.
- 30:12It increases IGF one. It's one like growth factor.
- 30:17And typically with elevated IGF one, many people are going to
- 30:22experience a better and more improved body composition and
- 30:26that's what most of us want. And so you mentioned earlier,
- 30:31I'm not going to lie to people like I'm not genetically gifted.
- 30:35I don't think when I go and have a six pack it's because I'm
- 30:40doing TRT, I'm eating about 70% clean and I probably have taken
- 30:46Tessa Moreland five days a week as well.
- 30:51Right. So you're doing all the things,
- 30:53you're right, you're not just laying in bed and suddenly
- 30:55forming A6 pack. So so are people seeing weight
- 31:00loss from that or just reduction in fat?
- 31:03Loss, fat loss. Fat loss.
- 31:06Not muscle loss, Fat loss. People that work out though
- 31:11regularly would you say? Right.
- 31:13No, not necessarily. This is going to work for
- 31:15anybody that wants to lose stored fat and has visceral fat.
- 31:19And here's the thing, you also have body composition that needs
- 31:23to be addressed as well, right? So it's going to be the
- 31:26combination of putting on lean muscle and reducing fat.
- 31:30And so this is a perfect combination for somebody that
- 31:33wants to combine, let's say, TRT testosterone replacement therapy
- 31:38by putting on lean muscle. And then this is going to just
- 31:41focus on the fat. So you have two things that can
- 31:44target that while we're partnering it with going to the
- 31:47gym or some type of physical activity and at least being
- 31:51conscious of what you eat. I don't preach diet, but, but I
- 31:55said 70 percent, 30% of the time I'm eating things that I don't
- 31:58really probably want you to see me eating, you know?
- 32:01Right, right. OK.
- 32:03Well, that's great. So those are some hot ones.
- 32:06And did we talk about CJC 1295 plus if Amoralin, let's talk
- 32:12about that one. That's when I hear about a lot.
- 32:15Right. So that was a stack that was
- 32:16combined. Moreland was looked at as kind
- 32:19of like a step up from some Moreland, which used to be the
- 32:23most popular peptide in the anti aging space, but it probably
- 32:28wasn't as potent. And So what came next was growth
- 32:32hormone producing peptide or stimulating peptide.
- 32:36IPA Moreland combined with CJ C 1295 which also help attack
- 32:41stored fat. So you have two components
- 32:44combined together, 2 peptides together that help with stored
- 32:48fat, that help improve sleep, that help improve hair, skin and
- 32:52nails and recovery and also preserve muscle.
- 32:57And so that's really what those combinations are for.
- 33:00Now regulatory wise, we've seen regulatory issues really trying
- 33:06to get it from Orleans CJC consistently.
- 33:10Right now it's off the list on a list, off the list on a list.
- 33:14But again, I'm going to be a little suspicious of that
- 33:19because that didn't happen until GLP one started hitting the
- 33:23market. And I'll also tell you as a
- 33:25person that's used and have many patients that's used CJC 1295
- 33:29with the Moreland, there was no reason to pull it off the market
- 33:32in terms of what we saw because we didn't have any negative
- 33:35patient reactions to these, all positive.
- 33:39And a lot of people were quite frankly pissed off when they
- 33:42made it harder and more difficult to get.
- 33:45Do you think there are some different side effects?
- 33:48I mean, I think that each person's body does better with
- 33:53certain peptides. I know at one point my husband
- 33:57tried, I think it was that yes, the CJC and he was doing fine on
- 34:02it for this was like maybe a year ago or so.
- 34:06He was doing fine on it. And then he suddenly came into
- 34:10my office one day and was like, I think I'm having a heart
- 34:13attack. And I was like, what do you
- 34:15mean? This is a man who never even
- 34:17complaints that he's ever had a cold in 13 years.
- 34:20I know him. And he was like, we have to call
- 34:22911. I'm having a heart attack.
- 34:24And. Sounds like my wife.
- 34:27He was really like freaking out and you know, I guess that
- 34:32happened once and then he knew he wasn't having a heart attack
- 34:34after that, but then it happened again and then I guess he
- 34:39correlated it with the shot or whatever.
- 34:40But nevertheless, he did stop, and then that thing stopped and
- 34:45then now he's on something else but.
- 34:47It does that happens and I believe it's the CJC 1295
- 34:51component. My wife before we even finished,
- 34:53as soon as I knew exactly what you're going to say, wife, same
- 34:56thing, slight palpitations, heart beating fast, the shot and
- 35:00that that can happen and some people never happens to me at
- 35:03all. Yeah, he was, because, you know,
- 35:06Justin, and he's never complaints about anything, never
- 35:09has any medical issues, but he was like, I'm having a heart
- 35:12attack right now. So, you know, I guess he
- 35:14couldn't get it to calm down. And also, you know, he drinks
- 35:16coffee or whatnot, but it definitely freaked him out and
- 35:19he won't touch it again. He's had enough.
- 35:21Yeah, same story with my wife. Exact same story.
- 35:25Yeah, I guess that's a bad feeling when that happens.
- 35:27So there's a new one on the scene.
- 35:30I know that it's very limited information right now, but this
- 35:34MOTSC which is a mitochondrial peptide.
- 35:38Do you have any information on that so far or what are your?
- 35:41Thoughts. It's new and we don't have
- 35:42access to it yet. I want access to it.
- 35:45I want to try it. But again, that's like the
- 35:47exercise in a shot peptide right there.
- 35:50OK, that's your metabolism. And it's literally supposed to
- 35:53be like exercise in a shot. And so don't offer that right
- 35:57now. Want to see it get some
- 35:59traction? We'll we'll be able to find out
- 36:01from pharmacy soon if they can. But yeah, I want to try it.
- 36:04Haven't tried it. Heard about it but have not
- 36:07tried it. That's great.
- 36:09That's great. So there's peptides for
- 36:10everything, right? Yeah, yeah.
- 36:13I mean, it's exciting. You know, right now, I think
- 36:15politically we are in a situation where these things are
- 36:20getting some wind behind in her back.
- 36:22I know our secretary of health uses peptides.
- 36:25I mean, you're talking about a guy in his late 60s, maybe early
- 36:2970s, who's got a six or eight pack and probably better muscle
- 36:33tone than myself. And so best believe he's doing
- 36:36these type of things and best believe that they work.
- 36:39And so they say right now, if you can just live 10 more years
- 36:43and try to stay out of an accident or some kind of act of
- 36:46God, the things that will be coming down the pipeline should
- 36:50be probably make the things that we're talking about today look
- 36:53like child's play. Yeah, that's what I hear too.
- 36:56They'll be these like anti aging pills, we'll never have to look
- 36:59our age again and be very, very unique with coming for us.
- 37:04Are patients coming in already asking about peptides, educated
- 37:09about peptides? Or would you say that's still
- 37:11such a small amount of the population?
- 37:14You know what it is right now. It's the word.
- 37:16Peptide. People like you have peptides.
- 37:19You have peptides especially like a lot of young people.
- 37:22It's interesting adjustment because you're like, yeah, where
- 37:24were you guys 11 years ago when we were talking about this
- 37:28stuff? You know, so you have some
- 37:33people coming in, but education, what you're doing here is the
- 37:38biggest missing piece. The education can't spread fast
- 37:43enough about these type of things.
- 37:45And again, for your patients, your listeners out there, guys,
- 37:49you got to pick your needles. You pick the needle or someone's
- 37:53going to pick the needle for you.
- 37:55And so I think that's the thing. You reminded me of that today.
- 37:58That's the only barrier. If these were pills, people will
- 38:01be lined up down St. It's the needle.
- 38:03Right, Yeah. I think that just like you said,
- 38:06some people are not even afraid of the pain.
- 38:08They're just they have fear of a needle.
- 38:09I had a friend that just at the sight of a needle would faint,
- 38:12right. I mean, like people really have
- 38:14some interesting fears. But I think all of this will be
- 38:17available in pill form before we know it.
- 38:19The people that are coming in that that do ask for peptides,
- 38:22is it more males, females, Is it the younger generation, the
- 38:26older generation? What are the demographics of
- 38:29that? I'm going to say I think women
- 38:33finally are becoming more in front when it comes to Wellness
- 38:42and an area of hormones and peptides.
- 38:45Finally women. It was the opposite prior.
- 38:48It was opposite. It was the guys is the guys, you
- 38:51know, it was mostly guys that were like, hey, you know, I want
- 38:53to be, I want to be jacked, you know.
- 38:56But now we're finding that the women, because women do more
- 39:00research. I feel like sometimes I could be
- 39:01wrong, but I feel like they're more purposeful about what
- 39:04they're doing. And so now I think a lot of
- 39:06women are probably in that charge.
- 39:08I could be wrong. I don't have the study in front
- 39:10of me, but I'm just saying off of what I see.
- 39:12I think women are definitely at least as excited and interested
- 39:18in trying these things. Yeah, I think they want to hear
- 39:21about what's going to help them, their skin peptides, you know.
- 39:24So I think we all want to look and feel better.
- 39:27We have covered a lot of ground about Peptides and Carlton.
- 39:32The listeners and viewers will be happy to know that you'll be
- 39:34coming back. We're going to do a series on
- 39:37Vitality with Carlton. He's really has his finger on
- 39:40the pulse of things. So we'll be bringing you back on
- 39:42a regular basis. But before we let you go, we'd
- 39:45love to invite you to do our speed round if you have a few
- 39:48more minutes. Absolutely.
- 39:49Let's do it. All right, here we go.
- 39:51Ice baths yes or no? No, right now.
- 39:56OK and only reason is right now is because I fell out of routine
- 40:00with the ice bath. It's a mental thing.
- 40:01So I fell out of my mental fortitude with ice baths.
- 40:05But I am ordering one actually in a couple weeks.
- 40:08Meditation daily or rarely. So they say prayer is the same
- 40:13thing as meditation and I pray daily.
- 40:15So daily. How much sleep do you get?
- 40:18How many hours? I average about 7 hours and 20
- 40:24minutes of sleep. I know that #7 hours and 20
- 40:26minutes of sleep. On Saturdays sometimes I get up
- 40:29to 9, but during the week it's about 7 hours and 20 minutes of
- 40:33sleep that I get. It's.
- 40:34Pretty good protein shakes or green juice.
- 40:37Protein shakes. Fasting fat or forever?
- 40:40So I'm going to be honest with you, I have not been able to
- 40:44make it through a fast longer than 24 hours.
- 40:47But from what I've read, I think it's forever because fasting has
- 40:51been something that's been like biblical and in different
- 40:54religious texts. So it's forever.
- 40:57Sauna or steam room? Sauna.
- 40:59Cheat meal once a week or never at.
- 41:02Least once a week. Fitness tracker essential or
- 41:06unnecessary? Essential.
- 41:09Hormone therapy. Start early or wait until you
- 41:12need it. Wait until you need it.
- 41:14Supplements. Too many out there or not
- 41:17enough? Not enough.
- 41:19IV therapy, occasional boost or weekly ritual.
- 41:23Monthly or bi weekly? Skin care clinical products or
- 41:28over the counter. I have to say clinical.
- 41:32Red light therapy hype or helpful?
- 41:35Man, these are hard. I have to say that.
- 41:38I feel like it's hype, but I don't know.
- 41:41I'm not a doctor or scientist. I don't know but.
- 41:44Haven't seen anything remarkable yet.
- 41:48Biohacking, exciting or overrated?
- 41:50Exciting. Aging inevitable or manageable?
- 41:54Inevitable. Patients care more about energy
- 41:59or weight loss. Weight loss.
- 42:02Biggest driver aesthetics or vitality?
- 42:05Aesthetics because it's easy. More growth right now, men's
- 42:10market or women's market? Women's.
- 42:13Younger patients interested or indifferent.
- 42:16Interested. PRP keep it or lose it.
- 42:20Oh, it works. One word for the future of
- 42:23Wellness. It is ascension.
- 42:27It's going up. Coffee or matcha?
- 42:29Coffee. Sneakers or dress shoes?
- 42:32Sneakers. Beach vacation or city trip?
- 42:36City trip now. Dogs or cats?
- 42:39Dogs. Gym playlist, hip hop or EDM?
- 42:43My EDM mixed with some like death metal.
- 42:48Dream Car. My dream car right now is a
- 42:52Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. There you go.
- 42:55You're going to like where it's all customized inside, yes.
- 42:58Yes, mobile office. Yes.
- 43:01Kids, games, friends. Yeah, sleep.
- 43:04Catch up on sleep in between. First thing you do every
- 43:08morning. Yeah, it's a status check.
- 43:10My whoop. Last thing you do before bed.
- 43:13I have started using a device called a Pulsetto.
- 43:16And it is to. Help improve HRV heart rate
- 43:20variability before sleep. So I turn on the pulsetto and I
- 43:25meditate until I pass out. OK, what is your HRV?
- 43:30Ideally 33 is a pat on the back for me, but usually it's
- 43:35somewhere. Around 22 unfortunately.
- 43:38OK, so you have a low HRV as well?
- 43:40What is yours? Around the same as yours, but
- 43:43like Justin's is super high. So I wish you hadn't said that
- 43:48part because I don't want to label anybody.
- 43:50Yeah, I have seen the differences in people who have
- 43:54high HR VS. Especially at an older age and
- 43:57low look, highly productive people have lower HR VS.
- 44:03The guys that I know who are like really killing it and if
- 44:06they're self-made, most of them in that season, they have low HR
- 44:11VS. OK, well that makes me feel
- 44:13better. I saw mine and I was like, am I
- 44:15dying? Like it's so.
- 44:17Low. They try to make it seem like
- 44:18you are. But.
- 44:19Heart day variability is directly linked to this right
- 44:24here in your nervous system. And so if you are somebody that
- 44:28is not content and you are trying to accomplish something
- 44:34and you have that type of spirit, because I compare these
- 44:37numbers with everybody, you're going to have a lower HRV.
- 44:40And so when people come to me bragging about their HRVS, I'm
- 44:43like, yeah, because either A, you're maybe you're
- 44:47independently completely wealthy and have nothing to do and
- 44:51that's all you do, or B, you don't want that back, you know,
- 44:55if they like, because I've never seen anybody have a high HRV
- 44:59unless they're like a freak athlete.
- 45:01The correlation is there. So without you telling me.
- 45:04Maybe the type B people because you know, like I'm triple type A
- 45:08like you and Justin's like triple type B, but his is like
- 45:13super high and I'm like so. I know Justin, and it's hard
- 45:17probably to get a guy like Justin worried, right?
- 45:19Like, Oh yeah. Never.
- 45:21Well, you know. Carlton, we can have 17 things
- 45:24going wrong and he's just like, what do you worry about?
- 45:28Like always, Just like it'll work out the way it's supposed
- 45:31to. Very laid back, very calm all
- 45:33the time and I'm always bouncing off the wall.
- 45:35So that makes perfect sense. Yeah, it's red alert around here
- 45:3924/7. So, you know, and even when
- 45:41things were good, it's just like, well, what else can we?
- 45:44Do we do better? Yes, I'm the same way.
- 45:47Well, Carlton, it's always so exciting to talk to you.
- 45:50Always a pleasure. I'm excited that our friendship
- 45:53continues after all these years. We will have you back on the
- 45:57show within the next month. We'll try to do something
