- 0:00Speaker 1: We're gonna generate lots of leftovers next week, so let's
- 0:03Speaker 1: clean out the sound fridge. I'm one more thing. I'm
- 0:10Speaker 1: supposed to say, it's one more thing, sorry, Michael.
- 0:13Speaker 2: So you're how hosting Thanksgiving this year? You have your
- 0:18Speaker 2: kids coming.
- 0:19Speaker 1: To you, a kid and my brother and his family.
- 0:23Speaker 2: So does that make au uh happy that you'll have
- 0:28Speaker 2: leftovers and everything like that? Because like, I'm going to
- 0:30Speaker 2: my parents' house and which is awesome, and my brother
- 0:33Speaker 2: will be there and I'm taking my kids, but I
- 0:35Speaker 2: won't have any leftovers at homes. When I get home,
- 0:37Speaker 2: I got nothing. I got no leftover turkey. I got
- 0:39Speaker 2: no leftover pie. But are you are you happy to
- 0:43Speaker 2: not have it in the house?
- 0:45Speaker 1: Oh? No, you want to live for turkey sandwiches.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Yeah, you gotta live for something. Might as well be
- 0:50Speaker 2: turkey's in which is yes, Katie.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Just give the puppy dog guys and get them to go.
- 0:55Speaker 3: My mom always gave it to me to go.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna be on a plane. I don't know.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I don't take up a big bull of girl on
- 1:00Speaker 2: the plane. I don't know. I don't know how you
- 1:04Speaker 2: put the gravy through security?
- 1:06Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a little inconvenient, but yeah, turkey sando with
- 1:10Speaker 1: some turkey on there, some stuffings aw man, a little
- 1:15Speaker 1: a little uh, mayonnaise, and then just a little cranberry said, Okay,
- 1:20Speaker 1: sweeten it up, maybe a tiny bit of mustard. Oh,
- 1:23Speaker 1: it's an art form.
- 1:24Speaker 2: I hate not having the leftover Jess Michael question.
- 1:27Speaker 4: About cranberry sauce. Do you get the canned stuff or
- 1:29Speaker 4: do you make it out of real cranberries. It's a
- 1:32Speaker 4: real controversy in my household.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Done both. The real stuff is definitely a step up,
- 1:38Speaker 1: but you know, there's the labor.
- 1:40Speaker 2: It was part of the Thanksgiving tradition. When I was
- 1:43Speaker 2: a kid. My mom had this old grinder that I
- 1:46Speaker 2: wonder if she's what she did with that, because that
- 1:48Speaker 2: thing had to be from maybe the eighteen hundreds literally,
- 1:52Speaker 2: because it belonged to like her grandma. But it was
- 1:54Speaker 2: just she would put it on the vice, it onto
- 1:57Speaker 2: the edge of the table, and we kids would take
- 2:00Speaker 2: turns grinding grandberries up with that old piece of metal
- 2:06Speaker 2: steel and it was part of the hole making Thanksgiving meal.
- 2:09Speaker 1: We love that. Joe.
- 2:10Speaker 3: You can step up your turkey sandwich by adding just
- 2:13Speaker 3: a little bit of stuffing on it.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Oh I said that? Yes, Oh you did? Okay, yeah,
- 2:19Speaker 1: you're talking to an artist. Who do you think you're talking?
- 2:22Speaker 1: So I don't want you to miss out?
- 2:24Speaker 2: God, I would eat three of those right now. Very
- 2:26Speaker 2: sandwich you described, dang it, I can't wait.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Funny coincidence that you used an old grinder and Michael
- 2:31Speaker 1: spent quite a bit of time on grinder before he
- 2:34Speaker 1: was wearried.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Why this ISSI that was a weird that took a
- 2:39Speaker 4: weird turnout, you Joe, I know.
- 2:41Speaker 2: And to add hominin drive by.
- 2:43Speaker 1: It was out there. If there's anything wrong with that?
- 2:47Speaker 2: Michael?
- 2:47Speaker 1: Are you all right?
- 2:48Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 2:48Speaker 4: Fine, I'm just sitting near the studio trying to do
- 2:50Speaker 4: my cho.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Wow, while having weird accusations thrown at you based merely
- 2:57Speaker 1: on my inability to let a stupid punchlink.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Oh man, that was would.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Like to you know what. I would like to apologize
- 3:04Speaker 1: to you, Michael personally, Man to man. Okay, a second,
- 3:09Speaker 1: that's settled.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Wow, I'm getting my meal through the soundtrack. I'm bringing
- 3:14Speaker 2: the meal to my parents. My mom's too old to
- 3:15Speaker 2: make a Thanksgiving meal at this point in her life,
- 3:18Speaker 2: and so it'd be my mom and Dad, my brother,
- 3:20Speaker 2: my kids, like I mentioned, and then I, same as
- 3:23Speaker 2: last year, got a meal at a pretty high end
- 3:26Speaker 2: restaurant there in town and it was really good. I
- 3:28Speaker 2: mean it was like a really really good restaurant Thanksgiving meal.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Oh yeah, loses some of the charm that it's not homemade,
- 3:34Speaker 2: but it was a.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Letter enough of it. I learned such a valuable lesson.
- 3:39Speaker 1: It was, gosh, does Gladys work the podcast these days?
- 3:42Speaker 3: Or is she she walked away when you said that
- 3:45Speaker 3: terrible statement to Michael.
- 3:47Speaker 1: It was who can blame her? It was about seven
- 3:49Speaker 1: years ago at a family reunion at her place, and
- 3:55Speaker 1: I commenced to cooking some fancy meals, including a smoked
- 3:59Speaker 1: salmon dish with some fancy pants sauce all day, sucker.
- 4:05Speaker 1: I mean a lot of work, and you know what,
- 4:09Speaker 1: it was good. And I realized if we'd ordered out
- 4:17Speaker 1: Chinese or made a pizza or made hamburgers, it would
- 4:24Speaker 1: have been at least, depending on who you asked, eighty
- 4:28Speaker 1: percent is good, right, there would have been one tenth
- 4:32Speaker 1: of the effort.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Yeah, well, that's the thing. You gotta enjoy the process
- 4:36Speaker 2: of cooking, like you enjoyed the process if For me,
- 4:40Speaker 2: I hate anything to do with cooking, so it's only
- 4:43Speaker 2: the result, and you know the result is often not
- 4:46Speaker 2: worth the amount of effort as you're implying. But if
- 4:48Speaker 2: you like the if you like the process, then it's fine.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Yeah. I do a pork shoulder thing. That's just mind
- 4:55Speaker 1: bendingly good. That's worth the time and trouble. But in general,
- 5:00Speaker 1: what's the two you know? Anyway, where were we? Ah,
- 5:04Speaker 1: we were going to clean out the sound fridge. So sorry,
- 5:10Speaker 1: metal guy. Man. If I'm not insulting one person, I'm
- 5:13Speaker 1: stepping on the toes of an grinder or whatever. It
- 5:20Speaker 1: wasn't it was just a play on a term that
- 5:23Speaker 1: I anyway. Uh, speaking of eating, here's some woman talking
- 5:27Speaker 1: about making pizza healthier. I learned this in college.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Okay, so you take the pizza, flip it, you drop it,
- 5:35Speaker 4: pick up it, drop it.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Now all the grease is on top and there's no
- 5:40Speaker 3: more grease on her pizza.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Is that weird? I don't think it's weird.
- 5:43Speaker 2: No, No, that's awful.
- 5:46Speaker 3: She just ruined the pizza.
- 5:48Speaker 1: But like it's still in the box and she did that. Yeah,
- 5:52Speaker 1: what what was she about?
- 5:54Speaker 2: Toppings would fall?
- 5:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that's how you get it now and.
- 5:57Speaker 2: The cheese might stick. The topics should be all for
- 6:00Speaker 2: the box. That's the worst. That's the worst life hack
- 6:03Speaker 2: I've ever heard.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Well, I'm back to my viciousness. She needs to shut
- 6:07Speaker 1: up and stay off the internet.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Mm hmmm.
- 6:09Speaker 1: That was terrible. Michael brought it to us.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Ban her from the internet.
- 6:13Speaker 1: If you could swipe and right and left so much
- 6:15Speaker 1: and pay attention to you know, the quality eclipse.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Michael, No, I brought it so that you could shame her.
- 6:21Speaker 2: That was why it was such a bad.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Damn once again, you know what, I apologize again, Manda
- 6:28Speaker 1: Man Michael, Okay, uh, this is kind of funny sounding that.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Go ahead and roll the next one. It doesn't need
- 6:37Speaker 1: any set up, Michael. Yeah.
- 6:39Speaker 4: These people are on a Royal Caribbean trip, you know,
- 6:41Speaker 4: the cruise and the ship tilts.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:45Speaker 5: We were in the theater and they were playing a
- 6:47Speaker 5: Celindion song from Titanic, and we actually thought it was
- 6:51Speaker 5: part of a special effects. The ship started to tips
- 6:54Speaker 5: to one side, all the bottles and all the glasses
- 6:57Speaker 5: fell off the bar. Oh my god, like wow, this
- 6:59Speaker 5: is amazing, and then we realized, look at the cruise faces.
- 7:03Speaker 5: This isn't special effects.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Oh so you thought it was some sort of real
- 7:08Speaker 1: commitment to the bit.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Yeah, the Celine Titanic song and the ship is tipping over.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Oof. Yeah, this would be great. The passengers will love this. Now,
- 7:18Speaker 1: hang with my idea. We play the Titanic song, right,
- 7:22Speaker 1: and then I like veers so sharply the ship starts
- 7:25Speaker 1: to tip they all poop their pants.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Hilarious.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Yeah, playing that song on a cruise seems like a.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Terrible no kidding. I'm surprised it hasn't been banned from
- 7:35Speaker 2: all maritime activities.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, wow, Wow, bad taste, bad idea, not funny
- 7:43Speaker 1: and he set up needed for this one. M dog.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Yeah, this is a woman going through McDonald's drive through
- 7:48Speaker 4: and she experiences trouble ordering food.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Okay, you're admitting to a customer you're in the bathroom.
- 7:56Speaker 2: I'm in the bathroom, so I can't order a small
- 7:59Speaker 2: frye minutes. I have to pee, so can I just wait?
- 8:05Speaker 3: No, you're telling a contomer through the headphone set that.
- 8:09Speaker 1: We're not taking your orders at the moment. Me and
- 8:11Speaker 1: because you're on I have to pee. How can I
- 8:15Speaker 1: take an order if I'm in a bath foom.
- 8:16Speaker 2: This is a bit much truth.
- 8:18Speaker 5: I'm not entired to go to the bathroom because you
- 8:20Speaker 5: want a small fry.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Are we buying the authenticity of that clip? Not a chance,
- 8:27Speaker 1: you don't think so.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Now, supposedly this was videotaped by the car.
- 8:31Speaker 2: But so even if you if you create one of
- 8:35Speaker 2: these things, what do you get out of it? You're
- 8:37Speaker 2: not going to become rich and famous.
- 8:39Speaker 1: It's just I don't know, hits.
- 8:41Speaker 3: I guess it could very well have been recorded from
- 8:45Speaker 3: the car, but that could have just been her friend
- 8:47Speaker 3: who works there doing that as well.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Good point.
- 8:50Speaker 1: That's a good point, Katie.
- 8:52Speaker 2: I want you to set up this one, Katie, so
- 8:53Speaker 2: we can fully enjoy it.
- 8:55Speaker 3: This is such a dude thing. These are This is
- 8:57Speaker 3: a group of guys and are all standing around this
- 8:59Speaker 3: light pole that has a very sharp point on the
- 9:01Speaker 3: top of it, and they're throwing an apple over it,
- 9:04Speaker 3: trying to get the apple to stick to the point.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Well, jeez, with Cave's not like we're trying to miss
- 9:14Speaker 4: a thing on purpose.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Somebody got it. They skewed the apple.
- 9:29Speaker 3: They skewed the apple and they just went nuts.
- 9:34Speaker 2: You can't tell what's going on.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Yeah, Wow, that is such a dude thing to do.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I've I've spent so much of my life doing things
- 9:43Speaker 1: like that. One of the greatest, smartest, best people in
- 9:47Speaker 1: the history of radio since Marconi, Dave Sniff, our boss
- 9:51Speaker 1: slash colleague in San Diego for many years. He had
- 9:55Speaker 1: a pipe what was it was probably a water piper
- 10:00Speaker 1: something pipe that ran through his office almost at ceiling level,
- 10:03Speaker 1: but there was like what jack eight inches maybe a
- 10:07Speaker 1: foot above the pipe, and so to you got until
- 10:12Speaker 1: you got to the ceiling, and he had bean bags
- 10:14Speaker 1: in his office and we would sit there you toss
- 10:17Speaker 1: bean bags to try to get him to perch on
- 10:19Speaker 1: top of the pipe. She had to be careful. You
- 10:21Speaker 1: couldn't throw too high or it would hit the ceiling.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Had to be exactly right. Man. When you nail that,
- 10:27Speaker 1: you booh yeah, you were a champion and you knew it.
- 10:30Speaker 2: The crowd goes wild, exactly.
- 10:32Speaker 1: I wish they'd had the trump dance, which is sometimes
- 10:35Speaker 1: referred to now as the uh trumpety dance. I'm told, man,
- 10:41Speaker 1: I'd have done the trumpty dance right there in his.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Office and filed it. My son and his friends are
- 10:47Speaker 2: like that, or used to be that way with the
- 10:48Speaker 2: bottle flipping. You know, you drink half your bottle of
- 10:51Speaker 2: water and flip it to could land it on the bottom,
- 10:53Speaker 2: and so you can land it on top of the
- 10:54Speaker 2: slide or up on a tree branch or whatever the hell.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I'm convinced that one of the reasons I was a
- 10:59Speaker 1: pretty and baseball player back in the days, I had
- 11:01Speaker 1: entertained myself by laying on my back and throwing a
- 11:04Speaker 1: tennis ball up in the air, and I would catch
- 11:07Speaker 1: it with my right hand, then my left hand, and
- 11:09Speaker 1: throw out my left hand, catch with my right hand.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Then I'd bounce it off something and catch it, and
- 11:12Speaker 1: I just I would do that for long periods of time.
- 11:16Speaker 2: No way you would have done that today watching a
- 11:19Speaker 2: video game.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I'd be a five year old standing on a baseball diamond,
- 11:23Speaker 1: bored out of my head in a full uniform, so
- 11:26Speaker 1: I look cute for pictures playing a game I couldn't
- 11:28Speaker 1: possibly handle. Plus, instead of just playing catch in the yard.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Plus you'd have spent a lot of time stirring at
- 11:33Speaker 2: your phone, so you wouldn't have had time to lay
- 11:35Speaker 2: on your back and throw a ball in the air.
- 11:37Speaker 1: That's a good point.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I kind of ended on a down note. Let's
- 11:42Speaker 2: go back to making fun of Michaelangelo's sexuality for no reason.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Oh Michael, I'm so sorry.
- 11:48Speaker 4: I'm just standing here trying to hit buzz surrounded my dicks.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Wow. Wow, I was strong.
- 11:57Speaker 4: Well, I guess that's it.
