- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, good evening listeners. Thank you so much for coming
- 0:03Speaker 1: on and taking time to listen to Lamenta Vogue podcast,
- 0:07Speaker 1: another episode for you.
- 0:09Speaker 2: And today it's.
- 0:11Speaker 1: A special one for me because my mom, she was
- 0:16Speaker 1: a mom in her late 30s, early 40s because she
- 0:20Speaker 1: struggled with infertility.
- 0:21Speaker 2: So it took her 12 years to have me. And
- 0:24Speaker 2: then shortly after me, she had my sister. Well, I
- 0:27Speaker 2: think you're Because I would say after 13 times, like
- 0:32Speaker 2: you said, 13 miscarriages, I probably, I don't know what
- 0:38Speaker 2: I would do. I have no idea. But like my
- 0:41Speaker 2: first response would be despair. Just go, you know what?
- 0:44Speaker 2: I'm done. No more. It's not in the books for me.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I'm going to figure out what I'm supposed to do
- 0:53Speaker 2: with my life now. But your hope seems greater than
- 0:57Speaker 2: your despair, if that makes any sense. The fact that
- 1:00Speaker 2: you would even keep going and trying because you want to,
- 1:05Speaker 2: that's incredible. How do you do that? How is it
- 1:10Speaker 2: that your hope is so great? Is it because your
- 1:12Speaker 2: love and desire for children is so much greater than
- 1:16Speaker 2: the despair and pain you feel when you lose each time?
- 1:21Speaker 3: That's a really good question. I've never actually thought about
- 1:24Speaker 3: it that way before. I really believe that my desire
- 1:29Speaker 3: to be a mom and to raise the type of
- 1:34Speaker 3: children that I plan to raise is what drives me.
- 1:38Speaker 3: And also seeing my husband as a dad, seeing him
- 1:42Speaker 3: that way, that's shifted a lot throughout the years, seeing
- 1:46Speaker 3: him with our nephews and– seeing him like just be
- 1:50Speaker 3: around kids in general, obviously makes my ovaries scream. But
- 1:57Speaker 3: seeing him and wanting, wanting him to be a dad
- 2:02Speaker 3: and then seeing the attribute, like the things that how
- 2:04Speaker 3: we would parent together, like just imagining our life together,
- 2:09Speaker 3: what it would be like, excuse me, when we have
- 2:11Speaker 3: children and the children that we want to have, that
- 2:14Speaker 3: is what drives me. It's like that almost like, that
- 2:17Speaker 3: future version of me that's looking back and just saying,
- 2:21Speaker 3: keep going because you're almost there. I feel so close.
- 2:24Speaker 3: And I've said that for years. I literally had a
- 2:26Speaker 3: talk with ChatGPT the other day of like, why do
- 2:29Speaker 3: I keep saying that it feels so close? I feel
- 2:32Speaker 3: like I'm almost there. I almost can have that life
- 2:35Speaker 3: I've always dreamed of. Why does it feel like it's
- 2:38Speaker 3: so close? And I've been doing that for years. So
- 2:41Speaker 3: is it actually close? Am I just going to keep
- 2:44Speaker 3: blindly thinking that it's close? Um, and they're obviously chat
- 2:49Speaker 3: doesn't have any kind of answer for that, but I just,
- 2:54Speaker 3: I just have to keep believing that I'm going to get,
- 2:57Speaker 3: I'm going to be a mom. I'm going to be
- 2:59Speaker 3: a mom. I'm going to watch my husband be a
- 3:01Speaker 3: dad and I'm going to raise some amazing children. And
- 3:05Speaker 3: that's the only option. That's the only option I'm going
- 3:07Speaker 3: to allow. And if that means that it's only adoption,
- 3:10Speaker 3: so be it. If it's IVF, awesome. If it's naturally cool, I'm,
- 3:14Speaker 3: I'm open. But I just know that it has to happen.
- 3:18Speaker 3: It is written in the stars, whatever. Like it's written
- 3:22Speaker 3: for me. I know that I'm going to be a
- 3:23Speaker 3: mom and I just have to keep going. And I
- 3:26Speaker 3: can't be the only one that feels this way. Other
- 3:28Speaker 3: people have to know, like other people have to feel
- 3:31Speaker 3: this way too, right? And so, and that's posting on
- 3:33Speaker 3: social media has opened those doors of like, wow, there
- 3:37Speaker 3: are people that feel this way, right?
- 3:40Speaker 2: Well, I think you're right in the sense that people
- 3:44Speaker 2: are so quick to despair. And I think that's why
- 3:47Speaker 2: what was so neat about your channel is that it
- 3:51Speaker 2: wasn't despairing. It was honest. You know, it was like, oh,
- 3:55Speaker 2: you know, the pregnancy test today was negative.
