- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on. Ah huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody.
- 0:06Speaker 2: You're listening to the voice, Come on digging now, one
- 0:11Speaker 2: and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Okay, I
- 0:18Speaker 2: want to talk to you today about success. But I
- 0:24Speaker 2: want to talk to you about it like I usually
- 0:28Speaker 2: do in terms of a principle of it, but I
- 0:31Speaker 2: want to share something with you about it.
- 0:35Speaker 1: And I was talking to my daughter about it.
- 0:38Speaker 2: I've talked about my son in law about it, talked
- 0:40Speaker 2: about it with all my children, and I'm really starting
- 0:43Speaker 2: to express it to them now because I'm talking to
- 0:46Speaker 2: a wide range of people constantly. But I want to
- 0:50Speaker 2: share something with you. If you have any aspiration of
- 0:54Speaker 2: being successful, I want you to realize, starting right now,
- 0:59Speaker 2: the effort that is going to require. And that's why
- 1:03Speaker 2: I think it stops a lot of people. I think
- 1:05Speaker 2: a lot of people are never told or don't understand
- 1:10Speaker 2: the sheer efforts that it takes to become successful at
- 1:14Speaker 2: anything in any area of your life. If you think
- 1:18Speaker 2: that doing your best is enough, I got news for you.
- 1:22Speaker 2: It's not. Well, Steve. What if you've done your best, though,
- 1:29Speaker 2: and your best ain't good enough? Well, let me ask
- 1:32Speaker 2: you that same question.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 1:34Speaker 2: If you want to be successful and you've done your best,
- 1:37Speaker 2: and best isn't good enough. What you threw that's it.
- 1:41Speaker 2: But Steve, it was my best. No no, no, no no.
- 1:44Speaker 2: It was the best you had at that time, in
- 1:47Speaker 2: that particular day. But tomorrow adds something to it. You've
- 1:54Speaker 2: never done everything. There is no you can't go no more,
- 1:58Speaker 2: you can't add no more. I've seen marathon runners end
- 2:02Speaker 2: up crawling across the line. I've seen triathlone people man
- 2:06Speaker 2: just staggering in the street and didn't want nobody to
- 2:10Speaker 2: help them because they knew that would disqualify them from
- 2:13Speaker 2: the race. You got more. Have you ever dipped into
- 2:19Speaker 2: your reserve tank? That's what we're talking about now. See,
- 2:23Speaker 2: all of us have a reserve tank, you know.
- 2:27Speaker 1: On my ranch, I like to ride four wheelers.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I have all terrain vehicles and all of them have
- 2:32Speaker 2: a gas tank on it and a gas.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Tank and most of mine, let me see all of them.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Yeah, all of them have gas tank needles on them,
- 2:40Speaker 2: and it lets me know when I get down towards eight,
- 2:44Speaker 2: there's a little lane that's red that lets me know. Okay, Steve,
- 2:48Speaker 2: you're in the danger zone now. You're riding into the
- 2:51Speaker 2: lowest part of your tank. But if I keep riding
- 2:54Speaker 2: and I forget to get some gas in there, guess
- 2:57Speaker 2: what when it runs out of gas.
- 3:00Speaker 1: All of my all.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Terrain vehicles, all of them, Honda Polaris, all of them.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Those are the makers. There's a button on the gas
- 3:10Speaker 2: tank itself that I can click and it says reserve.
- 3:15Speaker 2: That means they know that for the hard core riders,
- 3:20Speaker 2: they're gonna ride somewhere, they're gonna get themselves in a
- 3:22Speaker 2: situation and they're gonna run out of everything, they gonna
- 3:26Speaker 2: run out of road, they're gonna run out of gas.
- 3:29Speaker 2: They've prepared because they know for the hard core rider,
- 3:33Speaker 2: every hard core rider needs a reserve tank. And so
- 3:37Speaker 2: there's a button that you can click on the gas
- 3:39Speaker 2: tank that clicks it into a reserve and it'll give
- 3:43Speaker 2: you about fifty miles or twenty miles worth of gas
- 3:47Speaker 2: in that. Now, guess what in that reserve That may
- 3:51Speaker 2: be all you need to get you the where you're going,
- 3:54Speaker 2: or get you back to safety so you can refuel.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Don't tell me you've done your best. When your best,
- 4:01Speaker 2: don't cut it. What you're gonna do. See when best
- 4:05Speaker 2: is possible, then good enough ain't enough. See that's good enough,
- 4:11Speaker 2: But if the best is possible, why would you not
- 4:13Speaker 2: shoot for that? And you you are all capable of
- 4:17Speaker 2: making it. But you've got to change your mindset and
- 4:20Speaker 2: realize the effort that has to be put forth in
- 4:24Speaker 2: becoming successful. You've got to do it relentlessly, over and
- 4:29Speaker 2: over and over and over and every day. I try
- 4:32Speaker 2: to do something to progress my life for the better.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I try to do something every day. I wake up
- 4:39Speaker 2: every day with the plan. Some phone calls, some meetings,
- 4:42Speaker 2: some some some some interviews.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Something.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Man, that's going to advance and move the brand forward.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Because here's what's gonna happen. You are Let's say you
- 4:51Speaker 2: reach your goal. Let's say your goal is to make
- 4:54Speaker 2: now one hundred thousand dollars. Well, I got news for you.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Listen to the When you make the one hundred thousand dollars,
- 5:04Speaker 2: you can't go nowhere and go on vacation and put
- 5:06Speaker 2: your hand behind your head and say I made one
- 5:08Speaker 2: hundred thousand dollars.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Guess what you got to do.
- 5:11Speaker 2: You got to find a way now to maintain that
- 5:14Speaker 2: one hundred thousand, to keep it coming in See, you
- 5:18Speaker 2: can't just get there and stop and rest and whoa.
- 5:21Speaker 2: It is harder to maintain your success than it is
- 5:24Speaker 2: to get successful. See let's say, let me show you this.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Suppose it takes you five to eight years to find
- 5:35Speaker 2: a way to make fifty thousand dollars. Let's say it
- 5:39Speaker 2: takes you five to eight years to find a way
- 5:41Speaker 2: to make an extra fifty thousand dollars, and you finally,
- 5:45Speaker 2: through work and effort, you get to the fifty thousand
- 5:47Speaker 2: dollars math.
- 5:51Speaker 1: It's only just begun now because guess what.
- 5:54Speaker 2: In order to keep the fifty coming in, you got
- 5:58Speaker 2: to duplicate what you do to get there.
- 6:02Speaker 1: And then, oh, here's what you're going to have the
- 6:04Speaker 1: audacity being a human being.
- 6:07Speaker 2: You're gonna want another fifty because you're a human being,
- 6:12Speaker 2: because you gotta have something else to shoot for. Now
- 6:14Speaker 2: you're gonna want another fifty. Well, now, I guess what
- 6:16Speaker 2: you gotta do. Now, Now you gotta do what you
- 6:18Speaker 2: did before fu plus you gotta come up with something else.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Then after that, you're gonna have the audacity. Because you're human,
- 6:26Speaker 2: you're gonna want another fifty. Says how this works? And
- 6:32Speaker 2: see that that that's the importance of your relationship with God,
- 6:36Speaker 2: because you're gonna constantly need it. It ain't have a
- 6:39Speaker 2: point where you're gonna be through needing it. But that
- 6:41Speaker 2: ain't gonna become a point in your life where you're
- 6:43Speaker 2: going through. Won't be through, won't nothing unless you then
- 6:46Speaker 2: just gave up. And if you done gave up, who
- 6:48Speaker 2: wants that? Come on, y'all, this is going to take
- 6:53Speaker 2: quite a bit of effort, And if you think it'll
- 6:56Speaker 2: come to you any other way.
- 6:57Speaker 1: You're sadly mistaken.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Because of all the successful people I know, I know
- 7:02Speaker 2: that the effort they put out on a daily basis
- 7:05Speaker 2: is daunting, and I think that the average person just
- 7:07Speaker 2: doesn't understand the requirement of time and effort that it
- 7:11Speaker 2: takes to get that and willingness to put it out.
- 7:15Speaker 2: You got to cut a lot of monkey business out
- 7:17Speaker 2: your life, all that hanging out, all that late and
- 7:21Speaker 2: all that club and all that drinking, all that. You
- 7:24Speaker 2: got to cut a whole lot of monkey business out
- 7:26Speaker 2: to be successful. Man, if you're planning on being successful,
- 7:32Speaker 2: get up early, stay up late, work, try think, meet, greet, smile, attract.
- 7:40Speaker 1: It takes a lot. Let's go, But you can do it.
- 7:42Speaker 2: God is pressed to passing out blessings all day long.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Why are you not in line for yours?
- 7:48Speaker 2: I'm telling you right now, I want everything God got
- 7:50Speaker 2: for me because what He's shown me so far.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Who if he got some mo man or man? How
- 7:56Speaker 1: good is God?
- 7:57Speaker 2: Huh?
- 7:58Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show
