  [SPEAKER_00]: And right now, we are talking about the Jaguar's biggest needs.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I've talked about needs and things that I like to see the Jaguar as accomplished, but just doing it in a very focused way here on this show and having a little bit of a deeper discussion about it heading into 2026 a year in which I firmly believe the Jaguar Super Bowl

  [SPEAKER_00]: Technically, it opened halfway through 2025 when they went and got Jacobi Myers and they became one of the most potent passing games in the NFL and became a defense that was shutting down pretty much everyone, but they weren't able to finish in 2025.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Still, it remains wide open because they returned.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Anthony Campanila, Grant Ydinsky, Liam Cohen is still the head coach.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's far well still the special teams coordinator.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Most of the pieces are still going to be in place in 2026 and they have the opportunity

  [SPEAKER_00]: to get even better from a roster standpoint.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And take steps forward in your two of systems on both offense, defense, and special teams.

  [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of the special teams has just kind of stayed the same, because he far well is still in the building and you've still got a lot of the same specialists, but definitely on offense and defense, you have the ability to take a step forward in your just understanding of the system that you're currently in, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, I think that that's a really big deal, and the systems also molding and adapting to the players that are there, even more, and then you can't believe knowing more about the guys that he has, because it's not going to be this massive turnaround, this offseason it doesn't look like in terms of roster construction.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's more tweaking than anything else, but when you talk about these roster needs, I think people will say, corner back, linebacker, running back, and

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, to be fair, like the Jaguars do have a big for Asian at corner back, out simply in a guy ready to hit for agency in Buster Brown.

  [SPEAKER_00]: At lineback or Devon Lloyd, at running back Travis CTN, I think that that's where a lot of people are kind of focusing right now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm taking a different approach, not only because I do believe in the infrastructure that the Jaguars have built at those positions, but also because to me, it's like, it's not where the Jaguars are, the worst on paper.

  [SPEAKER_00]: My biggest need for this team is where can they become one of the best teams in certain areas of their roster?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Where can they create superpowers and where do they need to create superpowers to be the best that they can be in 2026 and beyond?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Do not get me wrong.

  [SPEAKER_00]: At Cornerback, if you lose Buster Brown, which you can he has slated to be a free agent, you're not in the best spot, but you still do have Travis Hunter, you have a CB1, you have Jari and Joan who proved he could play well on the outside, you have Jordan Lewis coming off injury, obviously, but he is a stalwart.

  [SPEAKER_00]: nickel player and you also have Christian Braswell who I think proved that he can step in and play play minutes for you, play snaps for you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So it's not dire.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Would you want to address it certainly in the draft?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Would you potentially want to address an infre agency?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's a lot of guys infre agency that'll probably be cheaper than Buster Brown.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying it doesn't need to be the biggest priority.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Boy, Luke and Jack Kaiser, Vintro Miller, and Branson Colms.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's not forget about him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Ready to step in and play Snaps at Lionbacker and again, you have a plethora of cheap, free agent linebackers that can come in and fill a roll.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This team is really well coached at Lionbacker, thanks to Anthony Camponele and Tim LaCabou.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And it's widely viewed as one of the best Lionbacker drafts.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There is, or that there has been in a while.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then running back, you have basaltutin and Lee Quint Allen.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You could go the veteran route.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You could bring back Travis ETN, which I am an advocate for.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a big advocate for bringing back ETN and bust around, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not trying to ignore those positions.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just trying to take a different approach and say, the biggest thing that they can do is address these three areas of the roster

  [SPEAKER_00]: in my opinion, and number one is defensive line.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like, they have the ability to create a superpower up front.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They did not create enough interior pressure last year, and Trayvon Walker was dealing with injury.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Point blank period in the story.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think if you have a healthy Trayvon Walker, this defense feels a lot different throughout the year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Josh Hind down did a great job no matter what anybody tells you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He did a great job last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: took a little while to get it going, but down the stretch, he was absolutely incredible.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And even throughout the beginning of the season, he was making impact plays.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have Josh Hines Allen, you have Trayvon Walker, you have your two-under-aftered free agents, you have Eric Garmsted, you have Devon Hamilton, Mason Smith, I don't even know if he's gonna have a roll here, but he is still on the roster.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think you bring back Matt Dickerson, but other than that, I'm trying to upgrade.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to look at,

  [SPEAKER_00]: John Franklin Myers maybe even go swing for a big edge player and there's going to be several of them out there as we talked about earlier in the week There's going to be some edge players out there in for agency.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's going to be edge players out there in the draft I'm taking at least one big swing on the interior of the defensive line and a couple probably at edge

  [SPEAKER_00]: And you can mix and match that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you take one big swing at edge, you take a couple on the anterior, the defensive line.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And to me, that means either a starting player in free agency at one of those positions, a high draft pick at one of those positions, and probably a day three pick at one of those, like we are addressing it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And probably trying to not part ways with Eric Armsteff, because as much criticism as he has had,

  [SPEAKER_00]: with Trayvon Walker, Josh Heinz Allen, maybe like a John Franklin Myers, another talented edge russia or two, you're starting to be able to be one of those teams that really can wreak havoc and resemble the Seahawks, the Broncos, you know, insert team, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Where you're starting to resemble one of these ass kicking defensive fronts.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's my biggest thing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's what I want to see.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I think if they can be that, everything else can kind of fall in line defensively.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then a company like can coach it up.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he's not ever going to be this coach that never uses creativity up front.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's always going to use creativity, but if you can still get home with four more than you did in 2025, that's going to be massive.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And if you can have that awesome rotation of just guys that are kicking.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I love the idea of boy A. Muffa from Seattle.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's really been dominant up front.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I love John Franklin Myers.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you could swing both of those guys, that'd be huge.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think you'd probably get both of those guys for the price of Devon Lloyd.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Love Devon Lloyd won them back, but I think that there's bigger fish to fry, unfortunately.

  [SPEAKER_00]: My second big one, it's really, it's creating another element to this offense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: element that I want it to be but like it doesn't have to be that it's like Liam Cohen needs to get in the kitchen figure out okay where do we need to improve offensively i think you can improve in your run game which i think that they're trying to do through coaching uh through continuity and chemistry on the offensive line because you gotta remember they added their uh new run game coordinator who had been with Liam

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so you look at that, I think, I think Titan, back like a second Titan that's like an Askicker and like a balanced player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like if you could literally just clone Britain a strange and have two of them at Titan, whoo, that'd be incredible.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, of course you can't do that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But

  [SPEAKER_00]: There will be some free agent tight ends that would be upgrades over Johnny Mond over Hunter Long, and then in the draft, there's several guys that I think fit the bill.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, the one thing here is you're probably not talking about a F tight end.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're talking about a balanced tight end.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Somebody who can be a Y or an F. Somebody who can move around.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I love the idea of Jack Andrews out of Texas because he is a great past catcher.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He is a good athlete, but he is a great, great, run blocker and move blocker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's the kind of guy I'm thinking about.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But there's going to be other guy.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I like Marlin Klein as well for that type of role.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's as physical in the run game, but he is a better athlete overall and he's a really good in pass protection too and he's a good run blocker.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So if you can create a 12 personnel package, 13 personnel package where you have two mismatches that tied in both in the run game and in the pass game,

  [SPEAKER_00]: That could really help you in so many ways.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It could help open up the passing attack more.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It could help you, especially in short yardage situations, because you're putting teams in a bind.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They're having to load up the box, because you've got multiple tight ends out on the field, but you can take advantage of them, whether you run on the ball or throwing it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's the type of thing I'm talking about.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And it could be something different.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It could be getting into more like two running back looks.

  [SPEAKER_00]: getting into more 12 and 13 and being better in 12 and 13 and getting into more two running back like it could be multiple different things but to me doing that getting that tied in would be absolutely massive for the jackwars and then the final one is just replenishing that offensive line they've got to do that in my opinion it's so critical to keep adding to the offensive line and

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I think where you're looking at right now is trying to upgrade that guard.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You have Cole Van Lannon locked in, Anton Harrison's a great tackle.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think you're set up at center and you do have a set up at guard where you have

  [SPEAKER_00]: you know why at my home that should be a future starter but adding another talented interior offensive line and maybe somebody who played tackle in college who can play tackle in guard but adding someone who has that versatility as well to the offensive line I think you've got to got to stay and they know this because they talked about this but Liam Cohen and James Latson have dealt with injuries on the offensive line and not having enough depth in their careers so they know they've got to do this but they've got to stay vigilant in that every single year.
