- 0:05Speaker 1: I'm Sean Gunn and you're listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 0:25Speaker 2: The following feature has been rated R by the Motion
- 0:28Speaker 2: Picture Association of America. It is intended for mature audiences
- 0:31Speaker 2: and parental discretion is advised.
- 0:43Speaker 3: It's showtime, folks. Enjoy the show.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I think this is where everything finishes up.
- 1:26Speaker 5: We just may be at the end of the line.
- 1:38Speaker 2: What's up? Welcome to Movie Meltdown. I'm Brian. I'm Jacqueline.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I'm David. We're coming to you live via digital recording
- 1:44Speaker 2: from Zuzu and.
- 1:46Speaker 6: Grendel's House of Fun. I get midway in and try
- 1:48Speaker 6: to swap them out.
- 1:48Speaker 7: Did you almost forget Grendel's name?
- 1:50Speaker 2: I was trying to do it. Well, because I did
- 1:52Speaker 2: the opposite direction. So then I'm like, wait, it's usually
- 1:55Speaker 2: Zuzu then. So I'm like, Zuzu and Zuzu's.
- 1:57Speaker 3: House of Fun?
- 1:57Speaker 2: That's not right.
- 1:59Speaker 7: It's Grendel and Zuzu's House of Fun. Grendel always comes first.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Yes.
- 2:04Speaker 6: Look at that. Look at that face.
- 2:07Speaker 7: That ugly girl.
- 2:08Speaker 2: She's so cute.
- 2:09Speaker 6: It's not very nice. Anyway, all that crazy dog business aside.
- 2:16Speaker 8: We are back with maybe the, certainly the culmination of
- 2:21Speaker 8: all the Super Series, but chapter stop at the least.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Bookend. So, I know normally we'll launch into a lot
- 2:31Speaker 2: of other stuff, but I feel like we should just
- 2:34Speaker 2: get to the movie.
- 2:35Speaker 6: Because we know how it goes. So, let's just throw
- 2:40Speaker 6: it out there.
- 2:42Speaker 3: IMD.
- 2:43Speaker 2: IMDB description. Did you read it? No, it should just
- 2:45Speaker 2: be a paragraph of dollar signs. That should be the
- 2:48Speaker 2: description for this movie. It's just a block of dollar signs.
- 2:51Speaker 2: That was what I was going to say.
- 2:53Speaker 8: I mean, we're recording like an extra day than usual,
- 2:57Speaker 8: more or less, so we've got the entirety of the
- 2:59Speaker 8: weekend totals now as we record this, and it is...
- 3:03Speaker 8: We knew it was going to hit a whole new
- 3:04Speaker 8: level of money and top previous things that the Avengers did,
- 3:09Speaker 8: but what the $ 1.
- 3:10Speaker 2: 2 billion dollars. It's bonkers.
- 3:13Speaker 7: With a B.
- 3:14Speaker 2: With a B. Blew everything out of the water.
- 3:18Speaker 6: Before, including the last one.
- 3:19Speaker 7: What was the production cost?
- 3:21Speaker 2: Oh, God, I don't know.
- 3:22Speaker 7: I just want to know the margins they're working with here.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I would assume three, four hundred million. I would assume. God,
- 3:30Speaker 2: I mean, just cast alone. I mean, not even getting advertising.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Just cast. But yeah, I mean, this has to be
- 3:38Speaker 2: the first movie to do two billion, right? Like, if
- 3:41Speaker 2: opening week, you're 1.3. Yeah, I mean... Like, you have
- 3:44Speaker 2: to do another set, because I'll see it again. I
- 3:46Speaker 2: was ready yesterday. I mean, there has to be a
- 3:48Speaker 2: load of people that have only seen it once that
- 3:50Speaker 2: are going to see it again still.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:53Speaker 9: Get more out of life. Go out to a movie.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Out, out. Out, out.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Out of the night.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Out, out.
- 4:09Speaker 2: If we do this, we'd be going in shorthanded. Yeah,
- 4:12Speaker 2: you mean because he killed all our friends? We owe
- 4:15Speaker 2: this to everyone who's not in this room to try.
- 4:17Speaker 7: It's not about how much we lost.
- 4:23Speaker 2: It's about how much we have left. We're the Avengers.
- 4:32Speaker 2: We gotta finish this.
- 4:35Speaker 9: You trust me?
- 4:37Speaker 6: I do.
- 4:43Speaker 3: You could not live with your own failure. Where did
- 4:48Speaker 3: that bring you? Back to me.
- 4:59Speaker 8: So anyway, we have gone out on the town. And
- 5:03Speaker 8: this week's feature is a surprise. Avengers colon endgame. The
- 5:08Speaker 8: year is, of course, 2019. The directors are Anthony and
- 5:13Speaker 8: Joe Russo, and the plot, according to IMDb, after the
- 5:18Speaker 8: devastating events of Avengers Infinity War, the universe is in ruins.
- 5:23Speaker 8: With the help of the remaining allies, the Avengers assemble
- 5:26Speaker 8: once more in order to undo Thanos' actions and restore
- 5:30Speaker 8: order to the universe. So, spoiler alert, I would assume
- 5:37Speaker 8: with this many billions, you've seen it already?
- 5:39Speaker 6: Hopefully, probably. If not, go see it, because we're going
- 5:43Speaker 6: to run the hell out of it.
- 5:46Speaker 2: So... Before... I.
- 5:51Speaker 8: Feel like I should see if it was just me,
- 5:55Speaker 8: because to jump to the end of getting out of
- 5:58Speaker 8: this movie, and I feel like we've discussed just enough
- 6:02Speaker 8: to be like, no, really, there was a decompression mode?
- 6:07Speaker 2: It wasn't just me, right?
- 6:08Speaker 6: Because I left and I was just like, I think
- 6:10Speaker 6: I'm going to go take a walk.
- 6:13Speaker 2: And then it was like, all right, I did that
- 6:15Speaker 2: for a long time. And I'm like, I'm going to
- 6:17Speaker 2: get in the car. I don't really feel like turning
- 6:20Speaker 2: the radio on right now.
- 6:21Speaker 8: It's just a lot of silence for the next few
- 6:23Speaker 8: hours of like, wow, that was a lot to process.
- 6:28Speaker 6: So was that just me?
- 6:31Speaker 3: No.
- 6:31Speaker 7: I mean, I went and saw it with Nick on
- 6:34Speaker 7: Friday and And usually we just never stop talking. Like
- 6:38Speaker 7: we're constantly talking. And the whole ride home, it was
- 6:40Speaker 7: like a half an hour driver was like, nope, not
- 6:43Speaker 7: a single word between the two of us.
- 6:45Speaker 2: And he's not even.
- 6:46Speaker 7: Like a big like comic books fan or like, you know,
- 6:49Speaker 7: Marvel fan or anything like that. But he was still
- 6:52Speaker 7: just like, okay, I'm just not going to say anything.
- 6:56Speaker 7: And yeah, and then I really kind of the whole weekend,
- 6:58Speaker 7: I just put it out of my mind. I just
- 7:01Speaker 7: didn't think about it a whole lot. Until I was like, okay,
- 7:04Speaker 7: I have to talk about it today. So now I
- 7:05Speaker 7: have to confront all of this.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I found that having seen it twice, that I had
- 7:13Speaker 2: two different experiences with what was going on. Because I
- 7:17Speaker 2: think no matter how much I tried to be in
- 7:21Speaker 2: the moment and just watch the movie, the fact that
- 7:23Speaker 2: there was like 12 years of buildup. It's kind of
- 7:27Speaker 2: like when you go into a movie and you don't
- 7:29Speaker 2: want to be told it's great. because then you kind
- 7:32Speaker 2: of judge it more. Like, I think I was in
- 7:34Speaker 2: this numb phase for so long of like trying to
- 7:36Speaker 2: stay even that I could still feel all that weight
- 7:41Speaker 2: as I'm watching a movie of, you know, no matter
- 7:44Speaker 2: how good a scene is, it's like, okay, but it
- 7:46Speaker 2: still has to finish, you know? And there's that. It's
- 7:48Speaker 2: the first time in?
- 7:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:49Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 7:50Speaker 2: The first time. So there's this, it's like, even though
- 7:52Speaker 2: I was enjoying everything going on, there's still this like,
- 7:54Speaker 2: I don't know, maybe it's just me being an uber pessimist,
- 7:57Speaker 2: this dread that something could still happen to ruin this movie.
- 8:01Speaker 2: And I found a second time the movie just felt
- 8:04Speaker 2: fan-fucking-tastic because I knew I was going to love it.
- 8:07Speaker 2: And so even though I think it's real slow for
- 8:10Speaker 2: the first three quarters, the second time it made sense
- 8:12Speaker 2: that it was slow. The second time I was like,
- 8:14Speaker 2: these need to be slow scenes. It's literally doing the
- 8:18Speaker 2: third act for so many people that it's a disservice
- 8:23Speaker 2: to anyone to make their.
- 8:26Speaker 2: I've heard it's fan service heavy, but it's like, no,
- 8:28Speaker 2: it's third act heavy. These are all these people wrapping
- 8:31Speaker 2: up their shit. If it would have happened any faster
- 8:35Speaker 2: or quicker with more snide jokes, it would have been disrespectful,
- 8:41Speaker 2: I think, to the way it was wrapping everything up
- 8:44Speaker 2: so well. I found a second time that it didn't
- 8:49Speaker 2: feel slow at all in the beginning. Like I said,
- 8:51Speaker 2: I think just knowing it was going to be good
- 8:54Speaker 2: gave me the ability to relax and really just settle
- 8:57Speaker 2: in and enjoy it the second time, more than the
- 8:58Speaker 2: first time. Like I said, it's not that the first
- 9:00Speaker 2: time was a bad experience. I just noticed this otherly
- 9:05Speaker 2: anxiety was gone the second time of just being able
- 9:07Speaker 2: to chill out and go, okay, let's just fucking do
- 9:10Speaker 2: this movie again. You had real.
- 9:11Speaker 8: World anxieties that first time that I don't remember. And
- 9:15Speaker 8: I was kind of unaware of most of it until
- 9:17Speaker 8: the big finale that I can get to later. But
- 9:20Speaker 8: that aside, like I don't remember ever being concerned about
- 9:24Speaker 8: the outside world there was like very far into the
- 9:27Speaker 8: process there was a moment of oh yeah probably this
- 9:32Speaker 8: because of what I knew about the real world and
- 9:34Speaker 8: upcoming features and whatnot so other than that like that.
- 9:38Speaker 6: First two thirds like it didn't even occur to me
- 9:40Speaker 6: I was just in and there's just so.
- 9:44Speaker 7: Much yeah I would I think I do want to
- 9:47Speaker 7: see it again because with like all the other like
- 9:49Speaker 7: Avengers movies I've known that there's another one coming, so
- 9:54Speaker 7: I didn't feel like I had had to be so
- 9:56Speaker 7: invested and pay so much attention to everyone's full stories
- 10:00Speaker 7: the entire time but with this one it was like
- 10:03Speaker 7: anytime I saw a character on screen I was like
- 10:05Speaker 7: reeling through every single plot point that that character's ever
- 10:09Speaker 7: had because I'm like this is it like I need
- 10:12Speaker 7: to I don't know I need to like have this
- 10:15Speaker 7: bird's eye view of everything for this movie And so
- 10:18Speaker 7: I feel like that's why it took so long to
- 10:20Speaker 7: process it because, you know, it's not like just, you know,
- 10:23Speaker 7: the last one, I knew there was another one coming,
- 10:25Speaker 7: so I was kind of like strap in, you know,
- 10:27Speaker 7: just watch the movie.
- 10:28Speaker 2: And all that.
- 10:29Speaker 7: But this one, it's like you have to, it's like
- 10:31Speaker 7: a literature review that you have to do with every
- 10:33Speaker 7: single character.
- 10:34Speaker 8: And it isn't something they slapped together. Like, it is
- 10:38Speaker 8: amazing the more I thought about it and a few
- 10:41Speaker 8: other things I've heard since, then I'm just like, all
- 10:44Speaker 8: these weird things that they like tied up but not
- 10:48Speaker 8: with the like heavy handed version that we've seen with
- 10:50Speaker 8: all these other ones that are trying to tie, you know,
- 10:53Speaker 8: like our complaints about solo or something. I'm trying to
- 10:56Speaker 8: go back and tie in everything ever like to it
- 10:58Speaker 8: because it's not doing that weird prequel thing. It's not
- 11:02Speaker 8: trying to tie it to a future sequel. It's just
- 11:06Speaker 8: finishing this arc so that they really are hitting things
- 11:09Speaker 8: from like five, seven, 12 movies back. Sometimes like they
- 11:13Speaker 8: will reference something. They're like, well, that's kind of what
- 11:16Speaker 8: he said there.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Huh?
- 11:18Speaker 8: Damn, did they, like, even if they didn't have it
- 11:20Speaker 8: planned that far out, the fact that the Russo's coming
- 11:22Speaker 8: in are just like, all right, we're rounding this thing out.
- 11:25Speaker 6: We're doing, you know, this is the finishing move to
- 11:28Speaker 6: all of these movies. So we're going to draw from
- 11:31Speaker 6: all of these movies and that it's just so well
- 11:34Speaker 6: put together the way that they tie all that in
- 11:37Speaker 6: without it being heavy handed.
- 11:40Speaker 2: I think it's interesting that you can, you know, kind
- 11:43Speaker 2: of like, take a step back from the 22 movies
- 11:46Speaker 2: and kind of pick someone, just go, you know, I mean,
- 11:49Speaker 2: the easy ones would be like the big ones, you know,
- 11:51Speaker 2: Captain America and Tony Stark. But even if you just
- 11:54Speaker 2: go like, you know, Clint, like Hawkeye and kind of
- 11:58Speaker 2: like look at, you know, the first Avengers movie all
- 12:02Speaker 2: the way to here and just follow his bits. And
- 12:04Speaker 2: there's a complete story there.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:06Speaker 2: And you can do that with all the characters. And that's,
- 12:08Speaker 2: to me, what's amazing. That's why I think it felt
- 12:10Speaker 2: so emotional and heavy, not heavy handed, but, why it
- 12:13Speaker 2: was so slow and why you had to have those
- 12:15Speaker 2: moments because it was everyone's third act. And you look
- 12:18Speaker 2: at these characters and really Thor got to say goodbye
- 12:21Speaker 2: to his mom. He didn't get that shit. You know,
- 12:23Speaker 2: he's in PTSD mode, hardcore. Like he needed that. You know,
- 12:28Speaker 2: like I said, Tony Stark and Rogers is just in
- 12:31Speaker 2: your face. But even with Hawkeye, like the little stuff
- 12:34Speaker 2: that I would like to think is not an accident.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Like when he first fought Black Panther in Civil War,
- 12:42Speaker 2: You know, Hawkeye is being Hawkeye. He's like, hey, I'm Hawkeye.
- 12:45Speaker 2: And Kachala is like, I don't care. I don't care.
- 12:47Speaker 2: He's like, I could give a fuck. I'm here to
- 12:49Speaker 2: kill that guy over there. Get out of my way.
- 12:51Speaker 2: And when they see each other for the first time
- 12:52Speaker 2: in this one, Black Panther is like, Hawkeye. I forget
- 12:55Speaker 2: if he says Clint or Hawkeye, but it's like by
- 12:57Speaker 2: name out the gate. And I was like, okay, I
- 12:59Speaker 2: want to believe that was on purpose. Those little touches
- 13:01Speaker 2: like that where it's like, like I said, it didn't
- 13:05Speaker 2: wrap it up with a neat bow and away we go. Oh,
- 13:07Speaker 2: that was the ultimate happy ending. But they're satisfying bows. Like,
- 13:12Speaker 2: everyone's story's like, it's not, you know, like, anyone came
- 13:16Speaker 2: out 100% happy, you know, yay. But, man, they're just
- 13:19Speaker 2: so well-written. It was just nice, poetic, emotional wrap-ups.
- 13:24Speaker 8: And just, again, that it doesn't... Because I give them
- 13:30Speaker 8: so much credit for ending the last one the way
- 13:32Speaker 8: they did. But then it would be almost like, well, okay,
- 13:35Speaker 8: we can't be on that downer note because.
- 13:37Speaker 6: but you need to like to be as heavy as this.
- 13:41Speaker 8: Like we can't even fathom the amount of, of, you know,
- 13:45Speaker 8: depression that we're dealing with.
- 13:46Speaker 6: So to, to come back and all of a sudden
- 13:48Speaker 6: be like, yeah, all right, cool.
- 13:49Speaker 2: It's a new movie.
- 13:50Speaker 8: Like it would be just a slap in the face
- 13:52Speaker 8: for not just the fans, but these characters, like everything
- 13:56Speaker 8: else you built on that last movie. So the fact
- 13:58Speaker 8: that it comes in so somber and like, and even
- 14:02Speaker 8: like unnerving, like the full on cold open, of just, like,
- 14:07Speaker 8: no fanfare.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Just straight up with Hawkeye, like, yeah, just Clinton and
- 14:11Speaker 2: his daughter, like, right away.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Yes, it's starting.
- 14:13Speaker 8: Like, it just, there's no anything. It's just not music,
- 14:16Speaker 8: not anything, just right in the middle of a scene.
- 14:18Speaker 8: You're like, oh, okay, we're picking up right here. And, again,
- 14:23Speaker 8: picking up in that same moment from a different perspective
- 14:26Speaker 8: of watching the world fall apart.
- 14:28Speaker 6: And then they really kind of lean in with the.
- 14:31Speaker 8: Words that five years later, and, like, you watch, like,
- 14:36Speaker 8: everything that that is not just falling apart but like
- 14:40Speaker 8: i really kind of like that we don't we just
- 14:42Speaker 8: get sort of this window view of it we just
- 14:45Speaker 8: get it through the characters we never fully like comprehend
- 14:50Speaker 8: how much has gone wrong you know you get like
- 14:53Speaker 8: the memorial or you get like just people still not
- 14:57Speaker 8: like the the homes just kind of falling apart like
- 15:00Speaker 8: just the look of everything is still That shot of
- 15:03Speaker 8: the Statue of Liberty was fantastic.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:05Speaker 2: With all the boats just kind of like, you can
- 15:07Speaker 2: tell they were just like pushing up against nearest land.
- 15:09Speaker 2: It's just the whole harbor there is just empty boats.
- 15:12Speaker 8: It's that kind of touch that I'm just like, it
- 15:15Speaker 8: really is kind of cool that they just layer that in,
- 15:18Speaker 8: but don't, again, like if this were a bigger, cheesier
- 15:21Speaker 8: sci-fi movie, they would really get into the minutia of.
- 15:25Speaker 2: What happened and how this all works. I've had some
- 15:26Speaker 2: people that were like, oh, it was so heavy-handed. Like,
- 15:28Speaker 2: they wouldn't be so depressed five years later. I was like,
- 15:31Speaker 2: can you... You cannot... You have no imagination in it.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I mean, we're talking planes falling out of the sky.
- 15:38Speaker 2: We still... Families half gone. People still don't joke about 9-11.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Structures of the world half gone.
- 15:43Speaker 8: Think about the number of people that was versus half
- 15:46Speaker 8: of humanity and every other planet.
- 15:48Speaker 2: There would be disasters everywhere that would took years to even...
- 15:53Speaker 2: We would be nowhere near normal, even after five years.
- 15:56Speaker 2: There's just too much... There's just too... So many people,
- 16:00Speaker 2: so many more people would be dead other than that half.
- 16:02Speaker 7: Everyone on Earth would be traumatized.
- 16:05Speaker 6: Every single person.
- 16:06Speaker 2: You would have to be really.
- 16:08Speaker 8: I mean, you can't because we again, I've said this before,
- 16:12Speaker 8: like just the fact that we like are exposed to
- 16:15Speaker 8: the amount of horror that we are through the media
- 16:17Speaker 8: now because you can see every horrible thing going on
- 16:19Speaker 8: around the globe. But if then it was just multiplied
- 16:24Speaker 8: and then most of the people you knew were either
- 16:27Speaker 8: dead or traumatized by this, like it would affect in
- 16:30Speaker 8: like this, this just waves of trauma that, yeah, I don't, I.
- 16:34Speaker 6: Don't think you can even comprehend that.
- 16:38Speaker 8: Again, I like that that's in there and they don't
- 16:41Speaker 8: get away from that. Even like a good ways into
- 16:44Speaker 8: the movie. Like by the time we, we catch up
- 16:47Speaker 8: with Clint, And you see, like, what a mess.
- 16:51Speaker 2: He has become. And he's dealing with it the only
- 16:53Speaker 2: way he knows how. And, like, I like how dark
- 16:56Speaker 2: they take these characters.
- 16:57Speaker 8: And, like, watching his entire family disappear within a moment
- 17:02Speaker 8: is just, he just full-on, like, snaps. And, like, the
- 17:06Speaker 8: only thing he knows is violence. Otherwise, the family was
- 17:10Speaker 8: the only thing that balanced him. So, like, him going rogue.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I took it as that. To him, it was more of, oh, wait, like.
- 17:18Speaker 2: half the people live and these assholes made the cut
- 17:21Speaker 2: i took it more of him going like no fuck
- 17:23Speaker 2: you guys like you guys got to go too like
- 17:25Speaker 2: there's no way my family's going and you get to
- 17:27Speaker 2: live so it felt more like that to me like
- 17:29Speaker 2: it wasn't like he was still trying to be batman
- 17:31Speaker 2: now like a hardcore avenger it was him he was
- 17:35Speaker 2: just with no rules going off about his family dead
- 17:38Speaker 2: he was just like no this is bullshit that they're
- 17:40Speaker 2: dead and you guys are still running around doing your thing.
- 17:44Speaker 8: Again that was those little moments like to, to be
- 17:48Speaker 8: as huge as it is, like it still hits so
- 17:50Speaker 8: many of these characters just enough.
- 17:52Speaker 2: That we get why he's that way.
- 17:55Speaker 6: And that that's his coping mechanism. And, and he, I
- 18:00Speaker 6: don't know my, I mean, my.
- 18:03Speaker 8: My favorite quiet moment, my favorite other than the grand
- 18:07Speaker 8: finale moments. And again, I think we we've turned this
- 18:11Speaker 8: into such a big, production and it's you know big
- 18:14Speaker 8: a-list stars but we forget a lot of these are
- 18:17Speaker 8: also like really impressive actors and that moment for me
- 18:22Speaker 8: like the whole time I'm just like I've been on
- 18:25Speaker 8: her side the whole way there but Scarlett Johansson in
- 18:29Speaker 8: the the sandwich scene is the most impressive thing in
- 18:33Speaker 8: the damn movie like her just that moment of silence
- 18:38Speaker 8: even before before Captain America walks in like it's just
- 18:41Speaker 8: her dealing with everything that's hit that five years is, like,
- 18:46Speaker 8: just amazing to watch.
- 18:48Speaker 7: Her face acting in that scene was ridiculous.
- 18:51Speaker 6: Again, she's sitting there by herself. She has no lines,
- 18:53Speaker 6: and it is so telling, and everything she does is
- 18:57Speaker 6: just phenomenal. Like, that's, I was just like, this is it.
- 19:00Speaker 8: Like, this is the level of, like, Oscar caliber acting
- 19:04Speaker 8: in a superhero movie that's not really gonna get the
- 19:06Speaker 8: recognition it deserves, but when you bring in people that
- 19:09Speaker 8: are this talented, like, they don't phone it in. Like
- 19:12Speaker 8: this is the, yeah, this is the level of.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Performance you get.
- 19:15Speaker 8: And that whole scene with them is great, but it's
- 19:17Speaker 8: just before he even gets there is like amazing.
- 19:21Speaker 6: She's so damn good in that moment.
- 19:23Speaker 8: So yeah, I, I like those levels of like dealing
- 19:27Speaker 8: with it in the, in the dark. So I think
- 19:29Speaker 8: that's why it can balance out and be that damn
- 19:33Speaker 8: amazing and fun at the end is like, because you
- 19:36Speaker 8: have this, like you've, you've kind of earned it by
- 19:38Speaker 8: the time you get there.
- 19:39Speaker 6: Because you've lived with these characters in this.
- 19:41Speaker 8: Horrible, somber world that like, yeah, by the time we
- 19:45Speaker 8: get to the middle point, you know, we want things
- 19:47Speaker 8: to be fun for a minute. We want to, at
- 19:50Speaker 8: least have a fun little side heist, time heist. I
- 19:55Speaker 8: don't think I, I mean, I knew they were going
- 19:57Speaker 8: to use time travel. I don't think I realized to
- 20:00Speaker 8: the extent I was not, I'm glad I didn't know
- 20:03Speaker 8: anything going in. Like I really did avoid all of
- 20:06Speaker 8: the nonsense going on. I really hadn't watched maybe two
- 20:10Speaker 8: of those early trailers, and that's all I'd seen.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Which don't really matter. All those trailers were the first
- 20:15Speaker 2: 15 minutes. Legit. To their credit. Nothing beyond the first
- 20:18Speaker 2: 15 minutes was in a trailer. To their credit.
- 20:20Speaker 6: They did not blow anything.
- 20:22Speaker 2: They planned it out very nicely. To the point of
- 20:25Speaker 2: poster art lying to you like Thor seriously you use
- 20:29Speaker 2: Thor's third movie imagery and that's not the Thor in
- 20:33Speaker 2: this movie that's what they did last time they covered
- 20:35Speaker 2: a lot of shit the battle scene with big green
- 20:37Speaker 2: Hulk running in it yeah that.
- 20:38Speaker 8: Was a scam last time and I applaud them for
- 20:41Speaker 8: it I'm like thank you that's how you do that
- 20:43Speaker 8: like that's how you deliver these movies at this point
- 20:46Speaker 8: because our society is just waiting to tear stuff apart before.
- 20:49Speaker 2: It even gets released so if you can play that game.
- 20:52Speaker 8: And manipulate people more power to you go for it
- 20:55Speaker 8: so But yeah, I just kind of love that. I've
- 20:59Speaker 8: said this many times on the show, and it's so
- 21:02Speaker 8: rare that you get something that when you get a
- 21:04Speaker 8: movie that can revisit itself, and specifically within its own.
- 21:10Speaker 6: Again, it's rare that you get it.
- 21:12Speaker 8: My example is always Back to the Future 2, where
- 21:15Speaker 8: we go into the movie we just left within the trilogy.
- 21:18Speaker 8: We revisit the same thing we were just at from
- 21:21Speaker 8: a new perspective with new characters.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Kind of worked in, so.
- 21:25Speaker 8: like that's such a weird concept and like you only
- 21:28Speaker 8: see it in a handful of movies. So the fact
- 21:30Speaker 8: that this gets a version of that multiple times over,
- 21:34Speaker 8: that we get all these different versions of that same
- 21:37Speaker 8: basic concept is, oh my God.
- 21:39Speaker 6: That part was just so damn entertaining.
- 21:42Speaker 8: And leads to a lot of horrible problems if you
- 21:45Speaker 8: think about it. So it's best to not think about
- 21:47Speaker 8: all of that, but.
- 21:48Speaker 2: It's so damn fun.
- 21:49Speaker 6: I don't care.
- 21:51Speaker 9: So I don't know.
- 21:51Speaker 6: Do we want to jump to the time heist area or?
- 21:55Speaker 2: Well, I was going to ask just like a small question.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Do you think they should have put the first 10 minutes,
- 22:04Speaker 2: the finishing of Thanos, do you think they should have
- 22:06Speaker 2: put that on the last movie? Because I was seeing
- 22:11Speaker 2: it the second time. Part of me was like, this
- 22:13Speaker 2: feels like it was going to be in Infinity War
- 22:16Speaker 2: when they show up at the farm and cut off
- 22:17Speaker 2: his head. And I was like, they could have went
- 22:19Speaker 2: to credits on that with Thor walking out doing the whole,
- 22:22Speaker 2: I went for the head credits. Yeah. And then you
- 22:25Speaker 2: could have did it there. Because at first I was like,
- 22:26Speaker 2: it's a little weird to go back right to the
- 22:28Speaker 2: exact moment and then do the five-year jump and then
- 22:31Speaker 2: start time jumping. I was like, it feels like we're
- 22:34Speaker 2: kind of skittering around the timeline a bit. It did
- 22:37Speaker 2: confuse people because, again, the dudes next to me were
- 22:40Speaker 2: a little bro-ish.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 22:42Speaker 2: And it goes to, went for the head, cut the black,
- 22:46Speaker 2: and he's like, that was a lot shorter than three hours.
- 22:48Speaker 8: Because it really did feel like, well, that could have
- 22:51Speaker 8: been the end of a different movie.
- 22:53Speaker 7: I guess they didn't want to give any justice in
- 22:56Speaker 7: the last movie.
- 22:57Speaker 2: They wanted it to be the saddest.
- 22:59Speaker 7: You just got fucked. There is no positivity here. So
- 23:04Speaker 7: I guess that's why I would hold it for this movie.
- 23:07Speaker 7: But I see what you're saying. Like kind of weird
- 23:09Speaker 7: to jump back in time like that.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 23:11Speaker 6: And I heard that wasn't the plan.
- 23:13Speaker 2: I thought it was supposed to be right before that.
- 23:15Speaker 8: I thought the way they'd originally come up with the
- 23:18Speaker 8: divide was Thanos gets the glove and like puts it
- 23:23Speaker 8: on and maybe even does the snap and then it's
- 23:26Speaker 8: cut the credits. And then we start this movie with
- 23:29Speaker 8: everyone falling apart.
- 23:31Speaker 2: And so to me, I'm like, no, I'm like, I
- 23:34Speaker 2: want that.
- 23:36Speaker 8: Fucking hardcore ending like i want it if we're going
- 23:39Speaker 8: to do that like i want it going out and
- 23:41Speaker 8: again like last year like that's what i said i
- 23:43Speaker 8: was like that was amazing that they ended it that
- 23:46Speaker 8: way that this multi-million dollar studio project ended that mean
- 23:51Speaker 8: and heartless and even if we know it's coming back
- 23:54Speaker 8: around like it doesn't matter like that's how you ended
- 23:56Speaker 8: your movie like that's bonus points because So yeah, I
- 23:59Speaker 8: think they considered doing it before that, like when it
- 24:02Speaker 8: was just him getting the glove and he wins, you know,
- 24:05Speaker 8: and that's the end.
- 24:06Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't know.
- 24:07Speaker 7: Out of all those ways, I think that this is
- 24:09Speaker 7: the best way.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:10Speaker 6: I think this is the most satisfying on both ends.
- 24:13Speaker 2: It does. It did.
- 24:15Speaker 6: Like even for me, like I was like, oh, so
- 24:17Speaker 6: we already got to Thanos?
- 24:18Speaker 2: Like it did jump really quick. I wasn't complaining. I
- 24:20Speaker 2: was just throwing it out there because, you know, when
- 24:22Speaker 2: I was, when we were kind of talking about it,
- 24:24Speaker 2: I was like, I don't even know how to process
- 24:25Speaker 2: this movie. And I found instead of putting it in
- 24:27Speaker 2: three parts, I was putting it in four because I
- 24:29Speaker 2: felt like the beginning was just like epilogue. It was like,
- 24:32Speaker 2: just really wrap up the last movie real quick. But again,
- 24:36Speaker 2: the difference between the first time and the second time
- 24:37Speaker 2: watching it, the first time I was like, well, wait,
- 24:39Speaker 2: Thanos is dead?
- 24:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 24:41Speaker 2: You know, because then I felt like, and I guess
- 24:44Speaker 2: maybe this is why it is effective to have in
- 24:45Speaker 2: the beginning because I was like, well, what the fuck
- 24:47Speaker 2: do you do then? There's just nothing. You can't do
- 24:49Speaker 2: anything to wrap this up. Even when there were time traveling,
- 24:52Speaker 2: I still felt like there wasn't going to be a
- 24:54Speaker 2: baddie to fight. You were just going to like wrap
- 24:57Speaker 2: it up with a bow. So like I said, that's
- 24:59Speaker 2: where I had weird anxiety the first time. So I'm like,
- 25:02Speaker 2: what's going to be in the end then? You fucking
- 25:04Speaker 2: killed him in the beginning. It did seem weird to me, yeah.
- 25:06Speaker 6: So it was a really good.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Subversion of expectation. Like it was just because then when
- 25:11Speaker 2: he was back, I was like, oh shit, you know?
- 25:14Speaker 2: And even though he didn't have the glove, he was
- 25:18Speaker 2: still strong as fuck.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:20Speaker 2: And you know, and they, when they made, When he
- 25:24Speaker 2: came back and I was like, all right, but whatever.
- 25:25Speaker 2: He doesn't have the gauntlet. But then when they established
- 25:28Speaker 2: he was still that strong without the gauntlet, I'm like, oh, okay.
- 25:31Speaker 2: We are kind of fucked again. So it worked. I
- 25:35Speaker 2: guess getting to see him die twice in a movie
- 25:39Speaker 2: after Infinity War probably was considered fan service too. It's like,
- 25:43Speaker 2: we're going to take him out twice for you. I
- 25:44Speaker 2: think that's part of it too is I think that also.
- 25:49Speaker 8: Kind of hands that baton because we– like, that's what
- 25:52Speaker 8: we talked about last episode, or last half of this movie,
- 25:55Speaker 8: it was like, he's not the villain, like, he really
- 25:59Speaker 8: is our protagonist in that entire movie, and you start
- 26:02Speaker 8: to almost side with him at moments, which kind of
- 26:05Speaker 8: bothers you, I feel like, but we get to this, and, like,
- 26:08Speaker 8: not only do we see him at the beginning there,
- 26:11Speaker 8: where he's just sort of sad and pathetic, like, granted,
- 26:14Speaker 8: on the one hand, he got what he wanted, but
- 26:16Speaker 8: at the same time, like, The gauntlet almost killed him
- 26:18Speaker 8: in the process. I don't want to say he's human
- 26:19Speaker 8: because he was a titan, but he was an emotional
- 26:22Speaker 8: being and he felt the weight of it after he
- 26:24Speaker 8: did it. And even though it was like he was
- 26:26Speaker 8: shutting himself out of that emotion during the process, when
- 26:29Speaker 8: it was said and done, yeah, he felt the weight
- 26:31Speaker 8: of all that stuff. And that's why I think it
- 26:33Speaker 8: works is that he's not just a shithead.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Bad guy that feels nothing. It's much more compelling when
- 26:40Speaker 2: that guy's conflicted too.
- 26:42Speaker 8: But at the same time, after we get out of
- 26:44Speaker 8: that intro at the beginning there, by the second, you know,
- 26:48Speaker 8: two thirds of the movie, he's full on villain again.
- 26:50Speaker 2: You're just like, ah, I hate this guy.
- 26:52Speaker 8: Like it, it changed because I didn't like, I felt
- 26:56Speaker 8: conflicted in that first movie.
- 26:57Speaker 2: And I'm like, I don't want to, like, I don't
- 26:59Speaker 2: want to have any.
- 27:00Speaker 8: Sympathy for this guy, but you end up having it
- 27:02Speaker 8: where this time I was just, by the time he's
- 27:04Speaker 8: looping back around and trying to kill them again, I'm.
- 27:07Speaker 6: Just like, no, fuck this guy.
- 27:08Speaker 2: He's the villain. Let's take him out again. Like, so
- 27:11Speaker 2: it really did kind of make him the villain that.
- 27:13Speaker 6: We needed again, which again, like you said, like we.
- 27:16Speaker 8: Would have gone into this really uneven.
- 27:18Speaker 2: If we had nobody to fight.
- 27:20Speaker 8: And we almost get a mirror version of the big
- 27:23Speaker 8: finale fighting Thanos last time, only it's even more epic
- 27:27Speaker 8: and dialed up to 11.
- 27:28Speaker 2: See, I had some weird fear factor that they were
- 27:30Speaker 2: going to put all the stones back in place and
- 27:32Speaker 2: we were going to get a replay of a battle. Yeah,
- 27:34Speaker 2: I did. Because when they were doing the time stuff,
- 27:37Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, if this is what you're going to
- 27:38Speaker 2: do with the fight with Thanos, that's not going to
- 27:41Speaker 2: be good. I don't want another... That's what I was
- 27:43Speaker 2: afraid of. Identical but slightly different Thanos fight. That's not
- 27:46Speaker 2: going to be satisfying at all.
- 27:47Speaker 8: Coming out of the last movie, that's what I was
- 27:49Speaker 8: afraid of. Because we already saw that happen.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Within that moment, we already had okay, he's not going
- 27:55Speaker 2: to win.
- 27:55Speaker 8: And then he reverses it with the time stone and
- 27:57Speaker 8: we get a repeat within the same ten minute span.
- 28:01Speaker 6: And I'm like, so are we just going to do the.
- 28:03Speaker 8: Whole second half of this movie is going to be
- 28:05Speaker 8: that again? I was more worried about that a year ago.
- 28:08Speaker 8: Whereas once we got to coming into this, I think
- 28:11Speaker 8: I'd either forgotten or just putting all that out, put
- 28:14Speaker 8: out all out of my head and was sort of
- 28:16Speaker 8: sucked in by all the other sadness in the beginning.
- 28:19Speaker 8: So I don't know. I didn't worry about that near
- 28:22Speaker 8: as much going in this time, but last year I
- 28:24Speaker 8: totally thought that was the way, the only way they
- 28:27Speaker 8: could find a way, which is funny that we've already
- 28:29Speaker 8: seen that time stone.
- 28:30Speaker 6: Version of it. And then that's not at all how
- 28:32Speaker 6: they do it.
- 28:33Speaker 8: Like they don't ever really use the time stone in, in,
- 28:36Speaker 8: in any context of, you know, dealing with that.
- 28:38Speaker 6: So.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I was surprised by that, too, a bit. Because, again,
- 28:42Speaker 2: you know, with what I thought was going to be, like,
- 28:44Speaker 2: kind of weak ways to go with the story, I
- 28:47Speaker 2: thought that, you know, you just do the, oh, after
- 28:50Speaker 2: all these people die fighting Thanos, we're just going to
- 28:52Speaker 2: use this stone to make everyone alive again. I was like,
- 28:54Speaker 2: that's going to feel really empty.
- 28:56Speaker 7: And then he's like, I destroyed them all.
- 28:58Speaker 2: So, no, you're not.
- 28:59Speaker 7: All fan theory is gone.
- 29:01Speaker 2: But even the second time around, when they were getting
- 29:03Speaker 2: them and stuff, I was like, I think... Because, I mean,
- 29:05Speaker 2: some people legit didn't come back. Like, no one even
- 29:07Speaker 2: mentioned Vision, even though... Scarlet Witch was clearly pissed about
- 29:11Speaker 2: Vision when she's fighting Thanos. You know, no one even
- 29:13Speaker 2: said him by name, like, you know, we lost Vision.
- 29:16Speaker 2: And I'm like, you could try, right? Like, before we put,
- 29:20Speaker 2: before Captain America puts the stones back, it's like, couldn't
- 29:24Speaker 2: someone try? Couldn't Doctor Strange try? Couldn't someone try? Like,
- 29:27Speaker 2: there was a part of me that was like, You
- 29:29Speaker 2: guys aren't even going to try. Like, at least they
- 29:31Speaker 2: mentioned with Hulk that when he snapped his fingers, he
- 29:33Speaker 2: was like, I tried to bring her back. I forget
- 29:35Speaker 2: who he's telling, but he's like, I tried. I tried
- 29:37Speaker 2: to bring her back too. And I guess her as
- 29:41Speaker 2: a cause for Lifestone is just, she's not here anymore.
- 29:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Well, and everything... Again, it was... it was because I
- 29:48Speaker 2: started thinking that it was like, well, we didn't get
- 29:50Speaker 2: everybody back.
- 29:51Speaker 6: We lost, you know, we still lost our sacrifice within
- 29:53Speaker 6: this movie.
- 29:54Speaker 2: We didn't get vision. We lost the original Gamora, which
- 29:56Speaker 2: I thought somewhere in my head, I thought, well, when
- 29:59Speaker 2: someone else goes into stone, she comes out. But I
- 30:01Speaker 2: guess that's not how that works. Once you go down, like, yeah,
- 30:04Speaker 2: that's the end of that.
- 30:05Speaker 8: So like, but it's, it was one of those, like
- 30:08Speaker 8: the snap always became like every, it's fixing the Thanos thing.
- 30:13Speaker 2: It's, everybody that Thanos took out is back.
- 30:15Speaker 8: And like all of those people were indirectly not part
- 30:18Speaker 8: of that deal.
- 30:20Speaker 6: And it's like, again, it's the death loophole. It's just like, Oh, well, sorry,
- 30:23Speaker 6: you weren't those guys.
- 30:24Speaker 8: So you're still dead by the way, which I mean,
- 30:27Speaker 8: we kind of need, so we don't have that.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Yay.
- 30:30Speaker 6: It's fairytale.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Everything's perfect again. Like we do need that.
- 30:33Speaker 8: There were still consequences that they're really even fixing. Everything
- 30:37Speaker 8: doesn't fix everything. Like it makes it better globally and universally, but,
- 30:43Speaker 8: it still leaves these weird scars and has all these
- 30:46Speaker 8: prices that were paid along the way. So again, that's
- 30:50Speaker 8: probably better storytelling-wise.
- 30:52Speaker 2: I think they've also kind of, not that they need
- 30:56Speaker 2: an out, but they have a lot of outs with
- 30:59Speaker 2: Captain America. Because when he goes back in time to
- 31:03Speaker 2: put all the stones back, and you find out he
- 31:06Speaker 2: spent his entire life in the past anyway, you don't
- 31:09Speaker 2: know what he did. I mean, I'm not saying I
- 31:13Speaker 2: think this is a case, but they could very easily
- 31:15Speaker 2: pull the... Off-shoot movie, side movie. I'm kind of getting
- 31:20Speaker 2: off topic here too, but there's weird things to think of.
- 31:22Speaker 2: I want to see those scenes almost because who guards
- 31:27Speaker 2: the life stone?
- 31:28Speaker 6: The fucking Red Skull.
- 31:30Speaker 2: So Captain America has to go to the Red Skull
- 31:32Speaker 2: and go, hey, bud, here's the life stone back. I
- 31:35Speaker 2: don't have to jump down there to give it to you,
- 31:37Speaker 2: do I? That would be so weird. But, you know, again, like,
- 31:41Speaker 2: for all we know, Cap did that thing and did
- 31:45Speaker 2: some butterfly effects to change some things. We don't know
- 31:49Speaker 2: because he lived his whole entire life in a palace.
- 31:52Speaker 2: That's the part I don't understand.
- 31:54Speaker 8: By the time we got to the end, I'm like,
- 31:56Speaker 8: I kept trying to figure out, okay, what is the
- 31:59Speaker 8: version that, again, to jump to the end, but since
- 32:01Speaker 8: we're on the Captain America, like, arc here, we're assuming
- 32:05Speaker 8: he went, the way I saw it described online was
- 32:07Speaker 8: like the... Basically, he took, like, the long way home. So, like,
- 32:13Speaker 8: instead of, like, he got to the last one, I guess,
- 32:15Speaker 8: did it, and then just stayed in World War II era.
- 32:18Speaker 8: But then I'm like, how the hell could you do
- 32:22Speaker 8: that and not screw up time in general?
- 32:25Speaker 7: I feel like they did try to address that. Like,
- 32:27Speaker 7: when they were arguing about, like, time travel stuff and, like,
- 32:31Speaker 7: I think the Hulk was trying to be like, but
- 32:32Speaker 7: butterfly effect and all that stuff. He didn't say butterfly effect,
- 32:35Speaker 7: but it's what he meant. And they were talking about it,
- 32:37Speaker 7: and she was like, Just because you, like, went and,
- 32:42Speaker 7: I don't know, I can't remember exactly what she was saying.
- 32:46Speaker 7: You can't change the past, like, no matter what. You
- 32:50Speaker 7: can only, like, whatever.
- 32:52Speaker 2: I don't know. It's very fuzzy logic. Like, what I
- 32:55Speaker 2: got from it, and I don't know if this is
- 32:57Speaker 2: right either, but it was almost like if it's happened,
- 33:00Speaker 2: it's happened.
- 33:01Speaker 10: Right.
- 33:02Speaker 2: So, you know, we can go into the past and
- 33:04Speaker 2: grab these physical objects and bring them back with us.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Somehow it doesn't change the timeline because it's already happened.
- 33:13Speaker 2: And I was just like, that's weirdly convenient. Like, so
- 33:16Speaker 2: you're saying you can do anything in the past, but
- 33:19Speaker 2: it didn't make sense then in a way then it's like, okay, well.
- 33:22Speaker 2: you know, the ancient one, when she's having a thing
- 33:24Speaker 2: with Bruce, she's like, well, you gotta bring all the
- 33:26Speaker 2: stones back, or else it fucks up the timeline. I
- 33:28Speaker 2: was like, okay, then why don't other objects do that? Like,
- 33:31Speaker 2: I don't understand why other people wouldn't do that. Like,
- 33:36Speaker 2: how is it you can pluck people and objects out,
- 33:39Speaker 2: and it doesn't fuck anything up?
- 33:41Speaker 6: I think it leaves a lot of weird holes.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Like, doesn't that mean Captain Rogers, like, kissed his daughter, niece, whatever, then,
- 33:47Speaker 2: in Winter Soldier? Like, if he's, if him and Carter
- 33:50Speaker 2: got together legit... And she had children. Wouldn't those have
- 33:54Speaker 2: been Roger's children then?
- 33:56Speaker 7: Or did he just create another branch?
- 33:58Speaker 2: Or did he create another timeline?
- 33:59Speaker 7: But the timeline stays the same, but then there are
- 34:01Speaker 7: just branches.
- 34:02Speaker 2: That's what I was wondering. If he stays alive, did
- 34:04Speaker 2: he create another timeline? He wasn't Bruce. He didn't have
- 34:07Speaker 2: that talk with the ancient one. That's what I was
- 34:09Speaker 2: going to say. He doesn't know the rules to that
- 34:10Speaker 2: extent maybe. It's like, okay, you hanging out with Carter-
- 34:14Speaker 2: definitely made another timeline right well that's the thing because
- 34:17Speaker 2: we know he and isn't that timeline contact with her
- 34:21Speaker 2: so like are you not because the other captain america
- 34:24Speaker 2: you know during the bulk of your time i guess
- 34:27Speaker 2: he's frozen in the ice but eventually he comes back
- 34:30Speaker 2: out he see again he sees her even within the
- 34:33Speaker 2: context of this movie plus we've seen her when she's
- 34:35Speaker 2: an old woman so it's like there's all these other
- 34:38Speaker 2: interactions so like well in the movie canonized the tv
- 34:41Speaker 2: show Yeah. Jarvis being in it. That was an actual
- 34:45Speaker 2: actor crossover canonizing at least Carter. From TV to the movie.
- 34:50Speaker 2: And I've seen where people have broken down Carter to
- 34:52Speaker 2: try to find anywhere, you know, that maybe you can
- 34:54Speaker 2: find any ties and stuff. And she clearly talks about
- 34:56Speaker 2: being married and having a kid. Yeah. And so now
- 35:00Speaker 2: people are like, is that her covering for Rogers?
- 35:02Speaker 3: Like.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Did she help keep him a secret the whole time?
- 35:06Speaker 2: Cause she understood too. And the fact that he wouldn't
- 35:08Speaker 2: talk about her then, like keep that in mind when,
- 35:11Speaker 2: you know, and it was a sweet moment, but it
- 35:12Speaker 2: could also have been a practical moment. You know, when
- 35:14Speaker 2: it was, when a Falcon's like, you know, sees the
- 35:17Speaker 2: wedding ring and it's like, do you want to tell
- 35:18Speaker 2: me about it? He's like, no, maybe it's because he
- 35:21Speaker 2: knows he has to keep all of this a secret.
- 35:26Speaker 8: But I don't like, well that, I mean that, Again,
- 35:30Speaker 8: it throws a lot of the science, if we're calling
- 35:34Speaker 8: any of the science, to the wind because then there was.
- 35:37Speaker 6: Other stuff I was hearing about that was like.
- 35:40Speaker 8: All of this has to start making up its own
- 35:44Speaker 8: time-traveling science laws. They were saying it's got to be
- 35:47Speaker 8: essentially a fluctuating singular timeline because if not, just the
- 35:52Speaker 8: fact that you go back in time to get those
- 35:55Speaker 8: stones that first loop through would keep thanos from getting
- 36:00Speaker 8: them that original last movie wave so then none of
- 36:03Speaker 8: that would have even happened for you to have to
- 36:05Speaker 8: stop it it becomes a weird like tangent universe it.
- 36:10Speaker 2: Is all over the place like i said it's it's
- 36:13Speaker 2: definitely the more you think about it the more you're
- 36:16Speaker 2: like i don't know that this all and well and
- 36:19Speaker 2: what's really extra weird i think is that You have
- 36:24Speaker 2: a time machine. I mean, regardless of what the plot is,
- 36:27Speaker 2: Hulk has a time machine at the very end for
- 36:29Speaker 2: Captain America to go back in. Like they now present
- 36:32Speaker 2: day have the ability to go through time. And I'm like, okay,
- 36:35Speaker 2: is this going to be like Marvel's way of supporting
- 36:37Speaker 2: the multiverse? Like maybe this is intentional. If not, destroy
- 36:41Speaker 2: that thing. Like, holy shit, because that's huge. That ruins
- 36:46Speaker 2: every possible future movie of just use the time machine
- 36:49Speaker 2: and this, this, this. I mean, it's like you can't
- 36:51Speaker 2: have a time machine present anymore. That thing's got to
- 36:54Speaker 2: get stolen or broke or something. Or hacked. New movie. Well,
- 36:59Speaker 2: that would be interesting. Yeah, every time someone uses it,
- 37:01Speaker 2: they're slowly becoming evil or something. Someone somehow does something that,
- 37:05Speaker 2: you know, turns people.
- 37:06Speaker 8: Well, to me, the biggest hole and or like out
- 37:09Speaker 8: that they created is In the moment, I went, oh, well,
- 37:13Speaker 8: here we go. They've just righted what all the fans
- 37:16Speaker 8: wanted and gave themselves an option to make 12 new movies.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Loki steals the.
- 37:22Speaker 8: Freaking Tesseract and goes into time. So the prankster of
- 37:26Speaker 8: the many universes now has one of the Infinity Stones
- 37:31Speaker 8: and can travel through time.
- 37:32Speaker 2: There is some clarification. There has been some talk about
- 37:36Speaker 2: it because he has a show. coming up on Disney's
- 37:39Speaker 2: streaming thing. And I guess now they're starting to say
- 37:42Speaker 2: a little bit on it. And they said it will
- 37:44Speaker 2: be him like traveling through time, being an asshole, like
- 37:47Speaker 2: low key time. I don't know if it'd be him
- 37:49Speaker 2: trying to like sabotage adventures or just him being an
- 37:53Speaker 2: asshole in time. But they make it sound like it's
- 37:55Speaker 2: almost like an evil Doctor Who thing. Like, it's going
- 37:58Speaker 2: to be him bouncing around in time being an asshole.
- 38:00Speaker 7: Quantum leap.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Loki version. I love it.
- 38:03Speaker 3: Oh, boy.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Because he can shape shift, too.
- 38:07Speaker 6: It's great.
- 38:08Speaker 2: And it would be different if he were.
- 38:10Speaker 6: the Loki that we just.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Lost in the last movie because he pretty much came
- 38:14Speaker 2: right he was still kind of a dick that's full
- 38:16Speaker 2: evil Loki at that point though he fully came wrong
- 38:18Speaker 2: but yeah he was full on bad guy like screw
- 38:21Speaker 2: hasn't lost his mom that was what really softened him
- 38:24Speaker 2: as much as I liked how they went back to
- 38:26Speaker 2: The second Thor movie, because as much as everyone shits
- 38:29Speaker 2: on that movie, I've said over and over and over,
- 38:31Speaker 2: it's like, you might not have liked that movie, but
- 38:33Speaker 2: it's really fucking important.
- 38:34Speaker 6: It's important to the rest of the.
- 38:36Speaker 2: His mom dies. I was like, there's big, big... And
- 38:38Speaker 2: that's the one where Loki starts to soften up. It's like,
- 38:40Speaker 2: there's big shit in that one. So I thought it
- 38:42Speaker 2: was cool that they revisited that one and kind of
- 38:44Speaker 2: dealt with all that again. I mean, with all these,
- 38:48Speaker 2: it has these... It creates these weird.
- 38:52Speaker 8: Again, I'm going to get caught up in time, but
- 38:53Speaker 8: the same thing with When we get into like the plan,
- 38:59Speaker 8: is the plan supposed to go as.
- 39:01Speaker 2: Wrong as it does?
- 39:02Speaker 6: Like, is that all part of the plan?
- 39:05Speaker 8: Because we have several times, because that's the thing I
- 39:07Speaker 8: thought maybe it was going to be because almost from
- 39:10Speaker 8: a storytelling standpoint, I'm just like, it's already so much
- 39:13Speaker 8: of an undertaking trying to think about writing this story
- 39:15Speaker 8: with all these threads going all these crazy places, not
- 39:18Speaker 8: only through time, but into your own past movies that
- 39:21Speaker 8: it's like, that's got to be crazy enough to kind
- 39:23Speaker 8: of keep track if everything goes smoothly. Well, then immediately, like,
- 39:27Speaker 8: Loki gets away, steals one of them, so then they
- 39:29Speaker 8: have to go to an entire different time then we
- 39:32Speaker 8: get the other half of the screw-up that you can't
- 39:35Speaker 8: plan for was the the nebula thing yeah you can
- 39:38Speaker 8: never see that coming so like but is that the
- 39:42Speaker 8: different variation that made them win in that version if
- 39:46Speaker 8: you're going by dr strange's you know one time Is
- 39:50Speaker 8: all of that the.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Reason that it all worked? I feel like they should have, well,
- 39:57Speaker 2: since they should have, I feel like they could have
- 39:58Speaker 2: done a lot better showing what Nebula was doing. Because
- 40:02Speaker 2: the first time I watched it and Thanos showed up,
- 40:05Speaker 2: I was kind of like, what the fuck just happened? Like,
- 40:07Speaker 2: how did he get her? And even though she was
- 40:08Speaker 2: around a machine, it just looked like she was destroying it.
- 40:10Speaker 2: On the second viewing, paying more attention, you see the
- 40:13Speaker 2: ship come out of it and kind of blow through
- 40:15Speaker 2: the ceiling. But I kind of missed that the first
- 40:16Speaker 2: one because I guess it was still small as it
- 40:19Speaker 2: comes out. Because I was just like, how'd this huge
- 40:22Speaker 2: fucking ship come through that little gate? But the whole,
- 40:25Speaker 2: you know, whatever Ant-Man's technology is. But, I don't know.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Just the first time, I was just a little thrown from, like,
- 40:32Speaker 2: Thanos showing up there. But the second time, it made
- 40:34Speaker 2: more sense.
- 40:35Speaker 6: Well, and that's another one of those, I'm like, she
- 40:37Speaker 6: kind of starts to win her over future version of her.
- 40:41Speaker 6: There were two of them by the end.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Of it, right? Other one didn't get killed. Again, the
- 40:46Speaker 2: small scene, I didn't notice. The first time, she hands
- 40:48Speaker 2: Thanos a Pym Particle. And I didn't feel the weight
- 40:52Speaker 2: of it, I guess. And then I was like, oh,
- 40:54Speaker 2: he's got it on his end so that they can
- 40:55Speaker 2: do this and come through. What I still don't get, though,
- 40:58Speaker 2: because again, there's just a million things you can think
- 41:01Speaker 2: of in this movie that could kind of be like,
- 41:03Speaker 2: what the fuck? I don't understand how he was able
- 41:05Speaker 2: to summon his whole armies at the end, though. He's
- 41:08Speaker 2: dead for five years. The Black Order's dead forever. Does
- 41:12Speaker 2: that mean he still has all these soldiers hanging out
- 41:14Speaker 2: for five years after his death waiting to be called?
- 41:16Speaker 2: Because he kind of like opens up all the time holes.
- 41:19Speaker 6: He didn't bring them from the era when he came from?
- 41:23Speaker 2: I didn't get that impression because like the time machine
- 41:26Speaker 2: thing is blown up. He's already bombed Avengers at this
- 41:29Speaker 2: point and it's just like it looks like those like
- 41:32Speaker 2: warp gate things are opening up and all those whatever
- 41:35Speaker 2: they were called are flying through and it's all those
- 41:37Speaker 2: armies from the first Avengers movie and I was like
- 41:40Speaker 2: Were they still on call even though you'd been dead? Well,
- 41:43Speaker 2: not dead for five. Yeah, I would have been dead
- 41:45Speaker 2: for five years. It was like, you would have been
- 41:47Speaker 2: dead so long. You guys are still hanging out waiting
- 41:49Speaker 2: for a call from Thanos? That doesn't make any fucking sense.
- 41:52Speaker 8: I mean, I hadn't thought that he's already destroying things.
- 41:54Speaker 8: But that's why, because he's pulling these creatures from the
- 41:58Speaker 8: first Avengers movie, is why I thought it was also
- 42:00Speaker 8: coming from that same time period.
- 42:02Speaker 6: Because we don't see those again. Like, they're not in
- 42:04Speaker 6: the last movie.
- 42:05Speaker 2: That doesn't happen until... after he's about to have, after
- 42:08Speaker 2: it looks like Cap's going to die.
- 42:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:10Speaker 2: You know, cause that was like that dooming moment, you know,
- 42:12Speaker 2: where like Cap can't beat him even with the hammer.
- 42:15Speaker 2: And that's when he like opens up all the gates
- 42:17Speaker 2: and he tightens up the shield. I was like, but
- 42:20Speaker 2: those are present day warriors. Like what, really? They were
- 42:25Speaker 2: just hanging out waiting for you. Are they like, I
- 42:28Speaker 2: don't know. They're still on the clock. You put them
- 42:30Speaker 2: in cryo or something like you just have them locked
- 42:32Speaker 2: up and like your black order guys kind of like,
- 42:34Speaker 2: you know, summon them back again. It just seemed weird
- 42:37Speaker 2: to me on that note. I was like, I don't
- 42:38Speaker 2: completely understand how he still has this huge army that
- 42:41Speaker 2: would be waiting for him five years after his demise.
- 42:44Speaker 6: If they're from the, yeah, the current version.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Plus you would think they would be part of that snap. Yeah.
- 42:49Speaker 2: I mean, if it's everything.
- 42:50Speaker 6: He would have been half of it.
- 42:51Speaker 2: It would have been half of them too. Like you
- 42:53Speaker 2: guys are even like, you should be depleted too.
- 42:55Speaker 8: Which really should be true. Cause he did seem like
- 42:58Speaker 8: he did not care. Like everyone sort of.
- 43:00Speaker 2: I mean, you think about it, like he should have
- 43:01Speaker 2: wiped out the ventures. Like he should have been like,
- 43:04Speaker 2: everyone fighting me goes you know what I'm saying like
- 43:07Speaker 2: so the fact that he.
- 43:07Speaker 8: Left again he was so caught up in his own
- 43:10Speaker 8: little game of like this is my.
- 43:12Speaker 6: Rule like I made up these rules and like.
- 43:14Speaker 2: Which kind of stays true to the comic because that's
- 43:15Speaker 2: the thing in a comic is that every time he's
- 43:18Speaker 2: involved with the infinity stones there's always a moment where
- 43:21Speaker 2: it's like he's won like legit like you know when
- 43:24Speaker 2: he has the glove in the comic it's like he
- 43:27Speaker 2: just has to snap it's done and he kind of
- 43:30Speaker 2: dicks around about it so long That they kind of
- 43:33Speaker 2: make it, that's his thing. Like, for him, it's can
- 43:35Speaker 2: I do it? And the moment he realizes he can,
- 43:38Speaker 2: it's like he gets bored. And he's like, yeah, I
- 43:41Speaker 2: did it. I won, really. It's like in his head,
- 43:43Speaker 2: he's already won. And he's like, what's the point in
- 43:45Speaker 2: doing it? I want to have more fun in the future,
- 43:47Speaker 2: so whatever.
- 43:48Speaker 8: If you were essentially the power of a god, like, yeah,
- 43:51Speaker 8: that would be, like, well, of course I can do it.
- 43:54Speaker 6: You know, so you would have to kind of make
- 43:56Speaker 6: up your own stupid... things to toy with.
- 43:59Speaker 7: Yeah i love that when he realizes that his experiment
- 44:02Speaker 7: didn't actually work and didn't create a paradise he's like
- 44:05Speaker 7: instead of questioning his own logic and like you know
- 44:08Speaker 7: reflecting it all he's like well i'll make a new
- 44:10Speaker 7: universe this.
- 44:11Speaker 11: Time i'll kill everyone so yeah it changes uh not
- 44:16Speaker 11: much for him which again is why i feel like
- 44:19Speaker 11: he he it it hands it over it's like.
- 44:21Speaker 8: Before you saw a little introspection and like this time
- 44:24Speaker 8: he's just like full-on villain of just like, I'll kill
- 44:28Speaker 8: everyone and start over.
- 44:29Speaker 2: I feel like it bloated his ego. I feel like
- 44:32Speaker 2: in the first movie, he hasn't done it yet, so
- 44:35Speaker 2: he's very methodical and staying to the plan and staying headstrong.
- 44:40Speaker 2: I think in this one, what kind of becomes his
- 44:42Speaker 2: weakness is knowing that he did it and knowing that
- 44:45Speaker 2: these guys are coming back to beat him for doing it.
- 44:47Speaker 2: It's almost like his ego is like, oh, I fucking
- 44:49Speaker 2: do it. Regardless of what you do, I'm going to win.
- 44:52Speaker 2: You can't stop me. I feel like you know, maybe
- 44:56Speaker 2: I'm being hyper analytical, but I feel like maybe that's
- 44:59Speaker 2: why he wasn't quite at his game the second time
- 45:02Speaker 2: around because it was just like, it was more just
- 45:04Speaker 2: ego and just wanting to, I don't know, wasn't really
- 45:07Speaker 2: thinking things out as much. He shouldn't have been challenging
- 45:10Speaker 2: that many fucking people without a glove. He didn't have
- 45:12Speaker 2: the glove and he seemed not phased that like 40
- 45:15Speaker 2: fucking people are fighting him.
- 45:17Speaker 7: Well, I also think he had nothing to lose or
- 45:19Speaker 7: fight for at that point because when he saw that
- 45:21Speaker 7: he gets his head cut off, he was like, destiny fulfilled.
- 45:24Speaker 7: everything after this is just bonus.
- 45:27Speaker 2: Yeah. Me still getting my way. So let's get to
- 45:30Speaker 2: that point. Cause I win.
- 45:31Speaker 8: Like, I also think, I mean, again, like almost extra
- 45:36Speaker 8: bonus points for like, kind of that, the moment that
- 45:40Speaker 8: cap kind of says, well, you know, a lot less
- 45:43Speaker 8: pollution in the.
- 45:44Speaker 2: Ocean, like not so many boats. And I was just like, dude,
- 45:47Speaker 2: are you just saying something about seeing some whales in
- 45:51Speaker 2: the bay or something? I was just like, huh, I
- 45:55Speaker 2: did not expect that line. I mean, again, we all
- 45:58Speaker 2: thought it for a minute in the first movie. Like, oh,
- 46:00Speaker 2: he's going to point at a lot of damn people.
- 46:03Speaker 6: Can I pick and choose who I kill?
- 46:05Speaker 2: That's the problem.
- 46:06Speaker 8: It's this half-randomly bullshit. But yeah, I was kind of
- 46:12Speaker 8: impressed by putting that in there.
- 46:13Speaker 6: I was like, that's not what you would have expected from.
- 46:24Speaker 10: I am the Satan Cause we're lovers And that is the.
- 46:32Speaker 5: Truth Yes, we're lovers And we are the proof No,
- 46:43Speaker 5: nothing Will keep us together We can stop time.
- 46:59Speaker 10: What do you say?
- 47:20Speaker 1: There are three minutes remaining before the show starts still
- 47:23Speaker 1: plenty of time to visit the refreshment stand for a
- 47:26Speaker 1: tasty treat.
- 47:39Speaker 2: Don't you guys like horror Yes.
- 47:42Speaker 8: Don't you think everybody should join the Meltketeer Horror Club?
- 47:46Speaker 3: Yes.

- 50:48Speaker 4: Oh my god, is this a segue to something?
- 50:50Speaker 2: What?

- 51:26Speaker 3: There. There.
- 51:26Speaker 2: Right there.
- 51:27Speaker 4: Yeah, you heard it. And then let's run out, jump

- 52:34Speaker 1: the Silver Surfer and Pan's Labyrinth and Hocus Pocus, Falling Skies,
- 52:38Speaker 1: and so much more. But today, you are listening to
- 52:42Speaker 1: Movie Meltdown.
- 52:43Speaker 9: It's part of your problem, you know, you haven't seen
- 52:49Speaker 9: enough movies.
- 52:50Speaker 4: All of life's riddles are answered in the movies.
- 52:52Speaker 3: And now, on with the show.
- 53:27Speaker 2: Here's too much. I'm trying not to just gush about
- 53:30Speaker 2: scenes because I don't feel like that's effective. But it's like,
- 53:34Speaker 2: there's so many great scenes. There's so many great.
- 53:37Speaker 8: Again, I'm almost saving the big finale scenes. But I
- 53:40Speaker 8: can almost make my annoyances....
- 53:43Speaker 2: Is it.
- 53:45Speaker 2: Again, I liked her in all the last movies. But
- 53:48Speaker 2: are we all kind of annoyed at Captain Marvel for
- 53:50Speaker 2: just leaving? I don't care about the other universes. This
- 53:53Speaker 2: is where our story is.
- 53:55Speaker 8: And by the way, are any of these other planets
- 53:58Speaker 8: out there putting together a plan to go back.
- 54:00Speaker 2: And fix this?
- 54:01Speaker 6: Because I'm guessing no.
- 54:02Speaker 7: Yeah, like she's just putting band-aids all over the universe.
- 54:05Speaker 8: Or stay here, fix it all, and you don't have
- 54:08Speaker 8: to put out the fires in the other universes.
- 54:10Speaker 2: Like, just, I don't know. That was just kind of like,
- 54:12Speaker 2: what the fuck was that movie?
- 54:14Speaker 7: It was just kind of like, I don't know, she's
- 54:15Speaker 7: the most overpowered person and I felt like, okay, yay,
- 54:20Speaker 7: you come through and destroy the ship. And you don't
- 54:24Speaker 7: really deal with Thanos. I don't know, it's just like, girl,
- 54:28Speaker 7: if you're gonna come, deal with the source and like,
- 54:31Speaker 7: I know Thanos, Titan, he's a big baddie, but I
- 54:34Speaker 7: also feel like Captain Marvel could just be like.
- 54:37Speaker 2: Nope, sorry, friend. I feel like, and this is just
- 54:41Speaker 2: me as a wrestling fan, like wrestling philosophy, I feel
- 54:43Speaker 2: like there was a lot of false finishes in this movie.
- 54:45Speaker 2: There was a lot of times someone was fighting him
- 54:47Speaker 2: in a way where you're like, oh, they could beat him.
- 54:50Speaker 2: And then something would happen to kind of undo that.
- 54:52Speaker 2: Scarlet Witch had him hemmed the fuck up, like was
- 54:55Speaker 2: choking him out. And that's when he was like calling
- 54:57Speaker 2: for the barrage. you know, to just obliterate the area
- 55:01Speaker 2: because he needed to get out of her grasp. That
- 55:03Speaker 2: kind of happened with Captain Marvel. Like, she hems up
- 55:05Speaker 2: with him. He headbutts her and she no-sells. It just
- 55:09Speaker 2: looks him in the face like, what? And he's wearing
- 55:11Speaker 2: a glove at this point. You're like, holy F. You know,
- 55:15Speaker 2: and he has to, like, rip the power stone out
- 55:16Speaker 2: to punch her. But they made it clear that glove
- 55:19Speaker 2: is the only reason he beat her. And even with
- 55:21Speaker 2: the glove, she was kind of, like, handling him. I
- 55:23Speaker 2: thought it made her look really strong. I felt like
- 55:26Speaker 2: she needed more dialogue. It seemed like the scenes that
- 55:28Speaker 2: happened with her, sometimes she didn't speak at all. One
- 55:32Speaker 2: of the few things was, hello, Peter Parker, I hear
- 55:35Speaker 2: you got something for me. That was like the most
- 55:36Speaker 2: she said the whole movie because most of the time
- 55:38Speaker 2: it was show up, fight, or look like a badass
- 55:41Speaker 2: and then bounce. And I was like, be in it
- 55:43Speaker 2: i feel like follow through was filmed in late like
- 55:46Speaker 2: maybe they wanted to keep her such a secret that's
- 55:49Speaker 2: they didn't film her on set and they did her
- 55:51Speaker 2: filming all in one day and interjected it because she
- 55:53Speaker 2: doesn't interact much with people this.
- 55:54Speaker 8: Was nonsense on the internet they said she shot all
- 55:57Speaker 8: of the stuff for this movie before her movie really
- 56:01Speaker 8: so maybe that's why it seems so weird and she
- 56:05Speaker 8: has so little to say they i mean they Maybe
- 56:07Speaker 8: have not even figured out her.
- 56:08Speaker 6: Character officially yet.
- 56:11Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 56:12Speaker 8: But in a way, it almost, because the few scenes
- 56:15Speaker 8: we did have with her, and this is just me
- 56:18Speaker 8: as the, like, dorky fan person. I'm almost way less
- 56:23Speaker 8: interested in you when you become that powerful. It's the
- 56:26Speaker 8: same pissy things I have with Superman. I'm like, I
- 56:29Speaker 8: don't care about you now. If you're infallible, if you're like,
- 56:33Speaker 8: if you are essentially a God, well then what's the
- 56:35Speaker 8: point of any of this?
- 56:36Speaker 2: Like you're as bad as Thanos now, right? Like you
- 56:38Speaker 2: can do whatever you want.
- 56:39Speaker 6: So who cares?
- 56:40Speaker 8: Like there was that moment where when in the last movie,
- 56:43Speaker 8: every one of our heroes was fighting to keep him
- 56:46Speaker 8: at bay and And she just comes up and does
- 56:48Speaker 8: the same thing with no help from anyone.
- 56:50Speaker 6: And I'm like, well, then why the fuck are all
- 56:51Speaker 6: these other people here?
- 56:52Speaker 7: I guess that's why they make her so, like, time limited.
- 56:54Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like, well, we.
- 56:56Speaker 7: Can't have her around that much because then there'd be.
- 56:59Speaker 2: We gotta stretch this out for three hours.
- 57:01Speaker 8: So, again, like, I get it from the one hand,
- 57:04Speaker 8: but on the other, I'm always like, but it's way
- 57:07Speaker 8: more interesting as a character if she's not so fucking
- 57:10Speaker 8: perfect and super powerful, like, That she doesn't need anybody
- 57:14Speaker 8: because this is the Avengers and they're supposed to need
- 57:17Speaker 8: each other.
- 57:17Speaker 6: That's the whole reason they.
- 57:19Speaker 2: Work so well.
- 57:20Speaker 8: That's why those battle scenes with them together and fighting
- 57:24Speaker 8: in conjunction with each other and feeding.
- 57:26Speaker 6: Off of each other is so badass.
- 57:27Speaker 2: She needs to be in a movie with someone else next, though. Period.
- 57:30Speaker 2: Because if you do another movie with her all by herself,
- 57:33Speaker 2: she does not feel organically a part of everything else.
- 57:36Speaker 3: No.
- 57:37Speaker 2: Everyone else has at least one other person they've had
- 57:39Speaker 2: scenes with and stuff where they could talk about things.
- 57:41Speaker 2: And like, she doesn't Nick Fury, but he wasn't here.
- 57:44Speaker 2: So like, like I said, it's like, it's, it felt
- 57:47Speaker 2: like they purposely didn't want her to say anything. Even
- 57:50Speaker 2: the whole thing with Thor, when she first meets him,
- 57:52Speaker 2: why wouldn't she say a word? She just kind of,
- 57:55Speaker 2: You know, stands there. He does the whole thing with
- 57:57Speaker 2: the hammer. Again, she's too cool. And he's just like, yeah,
- 57:58Speaker 2: I like her. I'm like, why? She didn't say shit.
- 58:00Speaker 2: She's just too cool for her own good in this movie.
- 58:02Speaker 2: She didn't even go, hey.
- 58:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:03Speaker 2: You know, when she shows up in the beginning with Stark,
- 58:06Speaker 2: just looking like the sun, doesn't say anything. But she
- 58:08Speaker 2: brings the ship back to the Avengers, just kind of bounces.
- 58:11Speaker 2: The only time she really speaks is when Black Widow
- 58:13Speaker 2: is doing the roll call thing. And like I said,
- 58:16Speaker 2: when she gets the glove from Peter, it's like she
- 58:18Speaker 2: has like three lines. Everyone else. Has more lines or
- 58:23Speaker 2: at least lines that have a whole lot of weight
- 58:25Speaker 2: to them.
- 58:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:26Speaker 8: She really has little to do. And then when she does,
- 58:29Speaker 8: I'm kind of annoyed because it's too powerful. I'm just like,
- 58:32Speaker 8: balance it out, give her more to do, but make
- 58:34Speaker 8: her not quite so like super powered that.
- 58:36Speaker 2: Like we don't need the rest of the movie. I
- 58:38Speaker 2: wish she would have had a scene with Nick at
- 58:39Speaker 2: the funeral.
- 58:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:40Speaker 2: Like just them talking off on a side, him doing
- 58:43Speaker 2: like we did it, something, you know, have them have
- 58:46Speaker 2: some closure there too. I mean, who knows? It was
- 58:48Speaker 2: three hours. What's to say the director's cut wasn't four
- 58:51Speaker 2: and you know, they had to pick and choose. Like
- 58:53Speaker 2: if they drop a Lord of the Rings style director's cut,
- 58:56Speaker 2: I'll love it. Everybody will buy it. But yeah, I
- 58:59Speaker 2: did feel like her in particular, I was like, she
- 59:02Speaker 2: just didn't talk to people enough. And it felt on purpose.
- 59:06Speaker 2: I was like, I don't understand why she's not saying more.
- 59:08Speaker 8: In real world now, if that is the case. way
- 59:10Speaker 8: they shot it, they really might not have known what
- 59:11Speaker 8: the hell to do.
- 59:12Speaker 2: With her at that point.
- 59:13Speaker 7: Maybe that's going to be her weakness in the next movie.
- 59:15Speaker 7: She just thinks she's too hot shit.
- 59:17Speaker 2: She gets taken down a peg. In comic world, she
- 59:21Speaker 2: kind of has Tony Stark's place now. She's the new
- 59:24Speaker 2: kind of like, I kind of set the standard. So
- 59:27Speaker 2: maybe that's just her already. Because she's going to have
- 59:29Speaker 2: to have some faults if we're going to have a
- 59:31Speaker 2: story to tell. So maybe she is too mission-oriented right now.
- 59:34Speaker 2: That's why Stark is so awesome, though, is because he
- 59:36Speaker 2: is the most fallible. God, he came full circle. He
- 59:39Speaker 2: is the most screwed up, you know? It's beautiful how
- 59:41Speaker 2: they brought him full circle with the movies. Like, you
- 59:44Speaker 2: go back to the first... his movie oh my god
- 59:48Speaker 2: he grows him and captain america grow so much not
- 59:51Speaker 2: that captain america changes much for him it's just more
- 59:53Speaker 2: of staying a stone through everything that happens but tony
- 59:59Speaker 2: this dude like in the first movie would have never
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: died for someone else no and him having a kid
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: him being so heartbroken over peter and like making the
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: ultimate he was fine The world was a wreck, but
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: him and Pepper and his new daughter, he was fine.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: I'm sure he didn't want to admit it, but other
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: than the guilt over Peter, that dude was pretty effing
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: happy after the snap. And for him to give up
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: his personal happiness for everyone else, that is not movie
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: one's Tony Stark at all.
- 1:00:31Speaker 8: And that's what I thought was really interesting in that
- 1:00:33Speaker 8: first super dark opening.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: Too, is because... Because I thought if we're... Oh, man,
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: DeLay just out the gate. He's like, I lost the kid.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: I lost the kid. That's like the first thing he
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: tells Captain America. And you're like, oh, my God.
- 1:00:43Speaker 6: He's still like dealing with that. But then like when
- 1:00:47Speaker 6: we catch back up with him, like we see.
- 1:00:52Speaker 8: Before we even get to that, that is maybe my
- 1:00:54Speaker 8: other favorite thing outside of the sandwich scene is just
- 1:00:59Speaker 8: when he comes back down with the ship, pissed off
- 1:01:01Speaker 8: Tony Stark.
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: That is like, see what did i fucking.
- 1:01:05Speaker 6: Tell you he's like i was right like i told
- 1:01:08Speaker 6: you this but like because again that is who he
- 1:01:11Speaker 6: is like at his core he's still like he's he
- 1:01:14Speaker 6: is growing he's becoming a better person but He's still
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: kind of a bastard, too, and he's like, I told
- 1:01:20Speaker 6: you I was right.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: Just that anger in him is like... You deal with
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: sorrow through anger. I think he was so hurt at
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: failing Peter that he was just lashing out at everybody. Because,
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: I mean, the thing is, it's a ridiculous argument. We
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: watched you try to shield the world. It fucking backfired.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: You're acting like somehow... that's why i don't think supported
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: enough it's like dude you fucked up then too like
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: why are you acting like yeah you you almost did
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: it then i don't think he.
- 1:01:44Speaker 8: Was right i just like that that scene of watching
- 1:01:47Speaker 8: him be like so upset with.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: Everyone and they made him look so emaciated and stuff when.
- 1:01:52Speaker 8: He first arrived that or is like johnny jr just
- 1:01:55Speaker 8: really getting old like maybe they put his head on
- 1:01:58Speaker 8: another body or something because just his chest look wizarding
- 1:02:01Speaker 8: which granted 22 days in space with I'm assuming no
- 1:02:05Speaker 8: little to no.
- 1:02:05Speaker 6: Food like you're you're gonna you're gonna.
- 1:02:08Speaker 8: Drop it but yeah that that I mean that scene
- 1:02:12Speaker 8: was really impressive like and and to kind of like
- 1:02:16Speaker 8: balance out and make good on Civil War it was
- 1:02:19Speaker 8: like it wasn't that moment of like oh we're back
- 1:02:21Speaker 8: together team's back together it's like soon as he's back
- 1:02:25Speaker 8: he's just like hey remember when you guys screwed me
- 1:02:27Speaker 8: over like Guess what? Here's the day.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: And in my head, I realized, it made me look
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: back at Infinity War, because I was like, did Stark
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: not know that Captain America was back? And in a way,
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: I was like, he might not have, because we watched
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: Stark and, or not Stark, we watched Captain America and
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: Black Panther and everyone fight, but I was thinking, I
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: was like, Stark went to Strange, blinked the F out
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: with the ship. I was like, maybe in his head,
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: He just thought Captain America was off being an asshole still. Yeah.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: You know, and so maybe because those conversations hadn't happened yet,
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: because I was like, he was guarding a stone too.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: You know, it's like, why are you mad at him?
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: You both failed at guarding your stones. But I don't think,
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: that sounded weird. But I don't, I think that, you know,
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: Stark honestly didn't know, you know, also at that point
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: that he was back in fighting. Again, that real world
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: version of it where it wasn't just, haha fun comic
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: books we're back together now it was just like no
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: we we built some really big walls last time and
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: guess what they're not down i don't care how many
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: people died i'm still pissed at all of you i'm
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: pissed at myself more than anyone like everything is just
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: like i don't know it was just very realistic for
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: for a silly comic book movie that like a guy
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: that just came out of space but That scene, again,
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: it's just really good.
- 1:03:45Speaker 8: And showing what an amazing actor this guy is that
- 1:03:48Speaker 8: has devoted these last 10 years and all of these
- 1:03:51Speaker 8: fucking movies to this one character. And it's just, he's
- 1:03:55Speaker 8: found a weird depth in it that you would have never,
- 1:03:57Speaker 8: especially from that first movie, never thought you would get
- 1:04:01Speaker 8: to the point where all of these things come up.
- 1:04:03Speaker 8: So then again, jump ahead five years. That's the thing
- 1:04:07Speaker 8: I was like, okay, now they are really giving it
- 1:04:09Speaker 8: stakes because.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: If it becomes... okay, we.
- 1:04:12Speaker 8: Go get the stones, we snap, and we go back
- 1:04:14Speaker 8: in time and fix everything, that kid's gone.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04:18Speaker 6: This kid that you've spent.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: Five years with and you love this child.
- 1:04:21Speaker 8: And, like, this is the, you know, everything that you
- 1:04:25Speaker 8: and Pepper wanted to build, this is it.
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: Gone.
- 1:04:28Speaker 8: Like, you can't just go back in time and fix
- 1:04:30Speaker 8: things the way, the moment you left it before because
- 1:04:33Speaker 8: you take that away. And even if somewhere in the future,
- 1:04:36Speaker 8: you know, you get pregnant again, you're not going to
- 1:04:38Speaker 8: get that kid.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: Like, that's not how... That's not how any of your
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: timetable or science works. Like I said earlier, that's why
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: I feel like it made his situation particularly different. I
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: shouldn't say he was happy in the post five years,
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: but he had moved on. He had definitely moved on.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: He had closure that nobody else did. Black Widow and
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: Captain America had not moved on. We didn't get to
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: see a lot of other people, but he seemed like
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: he was... Thor had not moved on. Oh, God. We
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: hadn't even gotten into Lebowski. That's the boldest move. I
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: can't believe they kept him in the fat suit the
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: whole movie. I found myself, and I don't know if
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: I really have an opinion. But I just found myself
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: in the end fight with Thanos when he was still fat.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: I was like, I can't believe they stuck with it.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: He's legit.
- 1:05:21Speaker 7: I thought it was going to be like a god
- 1:05:22Speaker 7: can do like four pushups and then suddenly god body again.
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: Or the lightning.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: When the lightning hit him and his beard was braided,
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, now the abs are back. But I
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: was like, no, he's still fighting his fat Thor.
- 1:05:33Speaker 6: See, I was almost.
- 1:05:35Speaker 8: cringing waiting for the montage where he got back in
- 1:05:38Speaker 8: shape i was.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: Just like please don't it ain't creed.
- 1:05:42Speaker 8: Don't do it man don't do it him and korg
- 1:05:44Speaker 8: and meek are like all working out together just running
- 1:05:47Speaker 8: around like like walkie style on the harbor that was
- 1:05:51Speaker 8: the best thing was the fact that we got korg
- 1:05:53Speaker 8: back like and the weird little whatever that meek weather
- 1:05:57Speaker 8: little critter oh my god those three hanging out together
- 1:06:00Speaker 8: was so damn funny But that is one of those, again,
- 1:06:04Speaker 8: it's like the depth that's going on that like everybody,
- 1:06:08Speaker 8: like they almost just.
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: Play him for a clown the whole movie.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:11Speaker 8: And I'm like, there's times when I'm like, he's almost like,
- 1:06:14Speaker 8: we know this is why he's doing it, but there's
- 1:06:16Speaker 8: almost like a layer of him using this to still
- 1:06:20Speaker 8: not deal with it, even.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: As much as it's obvious. he's dealing with it by
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: letting himself go. There's another level.
- 1:06:26Speaker 8: Where he's hiding from everything by just being drunk all
- 1:06:29Speaker 8: the time and hanging out and playing video games. Until
- 1:06:35Speaker 8: we get to the mom, you never really see him
- 1:06:37Speaker 8: deal with it. Because you see the very beginning with
- 1:06:41Speaker 8: him just sitting there being pissed and brooding. That's the
- 1:06:44Speaker 8: last time we see the.
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: Old version of Thor.
- 1:06:47Speaker 8: Everything after that is like, Thor, who's lost all confidence
- 1:06:51Speaker 8: and is like completely to.
- 1:06:52Speaker 6: The point that he again, that's like the other screw
- 1:06:54Speaker 6: up within.
- 1:06:55Speaker 8: The mission is like rockets on his game rockets to
- 1:06:58Speaker 8: him and he's Thor can't deal with anything, even the
- 1:07:01Speaker 8: most basic mission now. I feel like the rocket had
- 1:07:04Speaker 8: to carry him through all that. You're an Avenger, why
- 1:07:08Speaker 8: is a Guardian sidekick leading this mission?
- 1:07:11Speaker 7: I felt like Thor was sabotaging the mission. He didn't
- 1:07:15Speaker 7: want to succeed because he doesn't want to have to
- 1:07:18Speaker 7: rise up to it.
- 1:07:20Speaker 8: Again, if you don't build it back up, those stakes
- 1:07:23Speaker 8: aren't there again. You can't lose everything again if you
- 1:07:25Speaker 8: stay at the bottom. He lost so much, I don't
- 1:07:28Speaker 8: even want to chance it anymore.
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: Again, for a raccoon, that little speech he gives is pretty...
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: You think you're the only one that lost people? It's
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: kind of... As heartfelt as Rocket gets.
- 1:07:42Speaker 6: Once a movie, he pulls out a scene and you're like,
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: oh shit, that raccoon just got me.
- 1:07:46Speaker 8: There's moments when I'm like, yeah, it's amazing what they
- 1:07:49Speaker 8: can pull out of a crazy raccoon character.
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: I found it when I try to think about the
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: balance of how long people are on screen and stuff.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: I think it feels apparent that the two movies were
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: filmed together. Because as much as Thor was kind of
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: a joke in this, in a way, as much as
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: Hulk was kind of a joke in this, I feel
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: like Thor did so much in the last movie, and
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: Hulk kind of did so much in the last movie,
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: that you kind of went from focusing on two Avengers
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: in that one to focus on another two in this one.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: Captain was gone the whole movie.
- 1:08:20Speaker 8: Like, at least Tony was there the whole movie, but
- 1:08:23Speaker 8: Captain America was, like, barely in the last movie.
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: Like.
- 1:08:27Speaker 8: definitely like from the character arc standpoint, like we really
- 1:08:30Speaker 8: didn't get much. We got like, Oh, he's got a
- 1:08:32Speaker 8: cool beard. And then like, he beat some people up
- 1:08:34Speaker 8: and he gets in the fight at the end. But like,
- 1:08:36Speaker 8: we don't really get much from him as far as
- 1:08:38Speaker 8: what's going on, where we really do with, you know, with,
- 1:08:42Speaker 8: with banner and with everybody else is kind of dealing
- 1:08:44Speaker 8: with it.
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: But you know, he's just sort of out of the
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: picture of the first half. And then even when he
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: comes in, we don't really get much from him.
- 1:08:49Speaker 6: So it is amazing that they just, laid it on
- 1:08:53Speaker 6: and like so much of this movie rests on Stark
- 1:08:56Speaker 6: and Captain America.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: I feel like you could Kill Bill this and it
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: would make it would just all work. As in, if
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: you watched them back to back, Cut the credits and
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: literally just watched it in one seven-hour run or whatever
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: it would be, five, six-hour run. I wanted an admission
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: for the bathroom because I'm amazed I made it this time.
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: Because I feel like, kind of like using Thor as
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: an example, there's so much Thor in the first half
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: that the second half will be him just PTSD, not
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: wanting to do anything. And I think, again, that's what
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: I was saying. The more I think about each character individually,
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: it's miraculous how many full stories are told for so
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: many different people in a matter of two movies, let
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: alone the bigger 22 that they're referencing. Like everyone really does.
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: You know, I mean, you know, Drax doesn't, you know,
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: like there's, there's people that are just kind of here
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: and there. Like even, even Star Wars, even Peter Quill
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: really is not all that much in this one, but
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: you know.
- 1:09:55Speaker 7: But there's also the promise that there will be more.
- 1:09:57Speaker 7: For those people, there will be.
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and he's one of the ones that really gets
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: set up with the Asgardians of the galaxy, which is
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: a comic spinoff. Legit. So I guess I assume Thor's
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: going to be... Again, straight out... I kind of wonder
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: if him and Bucky will have a thing over to S.H.I.E.L.D.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: Because I feel like... Not saying it's bad if Falcon
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: gets it, but they've both had it. And there was
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: a part where he was like, wouldn't they have given
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: that to Bucky though?
- 1:10:22Speaker 6: Well, that's what I was going to ask.
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: Or maybe Bucky doesn't need it because of the arm
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: was his mentality. Like, let me give Falcon the rub here.
- 1:10:28Speaker 8: Because I was like, well, to be an even kind
- 1:10:31Speaker 8: of trade-off of like, you know, they're both super soldiers,
- 1:10:34Speaker 8: and they both have essentially the same powers, more or less.
- 1:10:36Speaker 6: So, like, yeah, Bucky would be.
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: And the infamous him catching it in his movie when,
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: you know, when he caught it. It's like, he can
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: handle it, man.
- 1:10:43Speaker 8: Yeah, it's like Bucky would be the one-to-one switchover. But, like,
- 1:10:47Speaker 8: Falcon is, like, badass in his own way, but also
- 1:10:50Speaker 8: doesn't have any of those powers that these two.
- 1:10:53Speaker 6: So, like, how is he... How does he become Captain
- 1:10:56Speaker 6: America and.
- 1:10:57Speaker 8: do whatever Captain America needs to do when he's not
- 1:11:00Speaker 8: in the Falcon suit, when he's not fighting the way
- 1:11:02Speaker 8: he's been fighting for the.
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: Last however many years. Like, I don't know.
- 1:11:06Speaker 6: I'm like, I want to see, because again, I love
- 1:11:07Speaker 6: that actor.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: So it's like, I want to see him in the suit.
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: I want to see how he does it.
- 1:11:11Speaker 8: But at the same time, I'm like, it almost would
- 1:11:13Speaker 8: make more sense from the Marvel end of it to
- 1:11:15Speaker 8: just be like, this is real easy to do.
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: Just collapse this over here and it's new Captain America.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: I feel like he'll get slotted in like what War
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: Machine was going forward. He'll be that B plus character.
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: guy that's there to help out and do this stuff.
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: But I mean, unless they really go crazy, like in
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: the comics, in the comics, what makes Steve Rogers old
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: is they find a way to pull the super serum
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: out of them.
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: If they want to do some stuff like that, like
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: he's like, I'm super old, go and get it out
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: of me and put it in Falcon. Or maybe they
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: do something to kind of pass the powers too. But,
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: but yeah, I did think it was, although man, when
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: he says on your left, That was pretty great. That
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: was so fantastic. Because for me, and again, I don't
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: know if they meant to do it like this, but
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: it worked on me. The fact that the base gets
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: bombed like 10 seconds after the snap. You get Lang
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: looking out a window and Clint getting a phone call.
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: All gone.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: But you don't get that. I thought Ant-Man was dead.
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: He has to be dead. I watched it twice. And
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: I'm telling you, that second one, he doesn't have the suit.
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: active because when it shows him alive he's small in
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: the scene I'm like no no no you took that
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: to the face like you were right there you took
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: that and you're human like I was really like again
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: with giving them exceptions someone should have died in that
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: nonsense but it happened so quick to the snap that
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: when they're fighting Thanos nowhere in my head was I
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: like everyone's gonna show up like I was still kind
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: of like I guess it didn't work like I was
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: a little confused like no one's acting like Reinforcements should
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: be coming. So to get that nod in such a
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: subtle way, just hearing Falcon go on your left, I
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: was like, oh, shit, here it comes.
- 1:12:58Speaker 6: Well, it had been so long.
- 1:13:00Speaker 8: Like, we wanted that. Like, we didn't get even the
- 1:13:03Speaker 8: last movie. We didn't get, again, like, we didn't have
- 1:13:05Speaker 8: Captain there, really. So it's like we didn't get that dynamic.
- 1:13:09Speaker 8: And it's been so many movies. And I'm like, oh, man,
- 1:13:11Speaker 8: they're back. Like, you know, it is finally that thing
- 1:13:14Speaker 8: that you've been waiting for for these last definitely years.
- 1:13:17Speaker 8: year but like several movies for a lot of these
- 1:13:19Speaker 8: characters to see him back in action and that that's
- 1:13:23Speaker 8: the other dynamic I kind of want to see play
- 1:13:26Speaker 8: out is now that we know we're kind of handing
- 1:13:29Speaker 8: the shield over I want it to be and I
- 1:13:33Speaker 8: know it kind of becomes a thing but I want
- 1:13:36Speaker 8: it to be like this super cool like bucky and
- 1:13:40Speaker 8: and falcon become friends because they were so bitter and
- 1:13:44Speaker 8: angry at each other like it's built around the steve
- 1:13:47Speaker 8: rogers thing and once he's out it's just like god damn.
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: It i guess you're my friend.
- 1:13:51Speaker 8: Now you know it's like i'm stuck with you we're
- 1:13:54Speaker 8: bonded together by this weird old dude like this is
- 1:13:57Speaker 8: fine i guess we're friends because they even there they're
- 1:14:00Speaker 8: kind of hanging out together and i'm like that would
- 1:14:02Speaker 8: be an awesome combo like just if we're moving forward
- 1:14:05Speaker 8: like i do want those two as like.
- 1:14:08Speaker 7: And Steve isn't dead yet, so maybe he can just
- 1:14:10Speaker 7: make them kiss or whatever.
- 1:14:11Speaker 6: I wasn't necessarily going there, but hey, you can't argue
- 1:14:15Speaker 6: with that either. It'd be cool.
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: If he just starts kicking it with Nick Fury. He's
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: just more there for analysis and technical advising and stuff.
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: He can't go out there and do it anymore, but
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: that he's still the guy on the other end of
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: the radio kind of role. That is the moment, as
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: I said earlier, there was one at the end where
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: I was like, all of a sudden real world kicked
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: in for a second and I went, yeah, Spider-Man, Nick
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: Fury's the one that shows up, not Tony Stark. Any
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: other time we've seen him, it would have been, you know,
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: pals with Tony. So it's like, I kind of knew
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: it was coming anyway, but the more I thought I
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: was like, yeah, yeah, Tony's gone. Like there's a reason
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: Nick Fury shows up. So yeah. I kind of wonder
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: if they could pull vision back by having, um, I
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: forget names in black Panther, but, um, His smart little sister. Yeah,
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: I kind of want... Who was blinked out.
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: They don't make that clear, clear, clear, but you see
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: her walking in with everybody when everyone comes back. Maybe
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: she got enough of Jarvis out in the whole process
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: to make Maybe he doesn't have the memories of Scarlet
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: Witch and everybody, so it's kind of like they have
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: to start over. But maybe he can get some core
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: version of Jarvis slash Vision going again now that she's back.
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: Because she was the one doing all that stuff.
- 1:15:34Speaker 8: And that's the thing, as we're kind of replacing our
- 1:15:36Speaker 8: lost superheroes, I'm like, I heard this thrown out last time.
- 1:15:40Speaker 6: And I'm like, man, make her the new Iron Man?
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: Like.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: Oh, man. She is the whiz.
- 1:15:45Speaker 8: Like, she is the one technical enough to be able
- 1:15:47Speaker 8: to pick up and surpass what Tony was doing.
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: She's a genius.
- 1:15:50Speaker 7: She's got all the ego, but then also compassion.
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: So she could be even better. And she's just, again,
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: she's funny, too.
- 1:15:56Speaker 6: So it's like she does have the right dynamic.
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: And she's the smartest. They made it clear that she's
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: the smartest. She definitely is. Even, you know, even, well. Yeah,
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: if she hadn't been snapped, they would have went to
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: her instead of Banner. Banner's still kind of guessing at
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: a lot of this.
- 1:16:11Speaker 8: As we saw, unless Tony showed up to fix his problems,
- 1:16:14Speaker 8: he probably wouldn't have even done it.
- 1:16:16Speaker 6: So yeah, she's definitely the go-to.
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: Hulk bugged me. I don't know if it's a mo-cap thing,
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: but why the F is he smiling and Every freaking scene.
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: Because he finally fixed the problem in the last movie.
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: And he is smiling all the time. To me, it
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: felt like he didn't care. It just felt like he
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: was like, yeah, well, let's try it.
- 1:16:38Speaker 7: I think part of it was that he was slightly
- 1:16:41Speaker 7: almost pretending or kind of Thor-ish.
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: Like, I'm going to be the.
- 1:16:48Speaker 7: the shoulder to cry on, but I'm not going to
- 1:16:49Speaker 7: cry until he hears that Black Widow is dead. And
- 1:16:53Speaker 7: then you just see this fear in his eyes, like,
- 1:16:55Speaker 7: oh shit.
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: This is real. Yeah.
- 1:16:58Speaker 7: And she's the one who always brought me down, like
- 1:17:01Speaker 7: all this stuff. But, but yeah, I agree with you.
- 1:17:04Speaker 7: It's like, he's like, just like this happy puppet of
- 1:17:07Speaker 7: a character for most of the movie until then.
- 1:17:10Speaker 8: Well, and again, almost counterbalancing the fact that we had
- 1:17:14Speaker 8: no Hulk last movie. It's like now we've got Hulk
- 1:17:17Speaker 8: the entire time.
- 1:17:18Speaker 6: He never turns off the green. He's a weird in-between version, but.
- 1:17:22Speaker 8: Still we have essentially Hulk the whole movie to balance
- 1:17:27Speaker 8: out last time.
- 1:17:28Speaker 7: Maybe it's just because he didn't... I mean, Banner didn't
- 1:17:32Speaker 7: have crazy friends or family either. He was pretty much
- 1:17:36Speaker 7: just like Black Widow was his.
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: Well, yeah, since they don't talk about... I forget what
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: his girl's name is. Since they don't reference his movie,
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: he wouldn't. They should have at least mentioned that. That
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: would have been an easy one just to be like,
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: I forget her name.
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: Betty?
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: Isn't it Betty something? I think it's Betty. But if
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: they just would have mentioned, yeah, Betty dusted, then he
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: should have been grim. So maybe if they would have
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: mentioned that Betty was okay, maybe you're like, okay, maybe
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: that's why he's not as mad because he didn't lose
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: anyone personal on that level. And he's not really close
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: with Strange or Panther or any of the guys that went.
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: That's what I really took.
- 1:18:14Speaker 8: From this movie midway in, I was just like these,
- 1:18:18Speaker 8: you know, all of these main superheroes that we've created
- 1:18:21Speaker 8: and we watched for these last 22 movies, like they're there,
- 1:18:25Speaker 8: especially the core Avengers. Like they're there to save the world.
- 1:18:29Speaker 8: Like they are there for everyone else. They have nothing
- 1:18:33Speaker 8: like with the exception of Clint, who was kind of out,
- 1:18:36Speaker 8: like all of our core Avengers are like the most dysfunctional, broken, lonely,
- 1:18:41Speaker 8: like sad people. Like, The only people they had, again, like,
- 1:18:45Speaker 8: did she have any family?
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: Yeah, us.
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: Like, this is it.
- 1:18:47Speaker 8: Like, Captain's lost everyone he ever knew. essentially other than
- 1:18:50Speaker 8: when bucky shows back up like yeah.
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: When they named her father and she was like yeah
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: she's like you know clint's like you know is that
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: is that really your father and she's like i don't
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: know yeah i saw that there was i didn't i
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: didn't see the scene but i heard that there was
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: a deleted scene from civil war when after Carter dies
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: and she's at the funeral with Rogers that they're just
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: kind of talking afterwards and that somehow it comes up
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: where he mentions something about her parents and she's like,
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: I went looking for them once at this time and
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: either they're dead or she couldn't find them. So it
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: was neat that they kind of came back around to
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: that and mentioned that she doesn't know who her parents are.
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: So maybe that's what her movie can be. Not that
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: I want her movie or whatever it is to be
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: a prequel, but You mentioned it. Like, let's see the
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: mission where you go looking for, or let's see Budapest.
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: Let's see Budapest. Just give me Budapest, man. They brought
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: it up again. Like, every movie they bring it up.
- 1:19:46Speaker 8: Even the last movie that neither of them are in,
- 1:19:48Speaker 8: they brought up Budapest.
- 1:19:50Speaker 6: So, yeah, it is interesting that they keep hitting that.
- 1:19:54Speaker 8: I'm like, are they going to make good on it,
- 1:19:56Speaker 8: or is this just a constant tease?
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: It's going to be the name of the movie, Budapest.
- 1:20:00Speaker 6: That's it.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: Finally, Budapest. It's like, here, just take it and shut up.
- 1:20:08Speaker 7: It'd be a really cool movie to shoot in. I
- 1:20:09Speaker 7: visited last year. It was my first time to Europe.
- 1:20:12Speaker 7: I went to Budapest and I was like, this would
- 1:20:14Speaker 7: be a really good place to shoot any kind of movie.
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: Any kind of crazy action.
- 1:20:19Speaker 7: Hell yeah.
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: Adventures.
- 1:20:20Speaker 7: So many little corridors and funny walls to jump up on.
- 1:20:25Speaker 6: I mean, at this point, especially if they're going back
- 1:20:28Speaker 6: in time, you'd have to recast, right?
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: She could almost pull it off, but he's gotten pretty,
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: like he looks his age now.
- 1:20:37Speaker 7: Okay, but the anti-aging they did with Samuel L.
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe so.
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: Come on.
- 1:20:41Speaker 6: But for a whole movie, that's, I'm not saying they
- 1:20:44Speaker 6: can't do it. I'm just afraid it wouldn't work.
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: Well, see, it gets weird because some things are TV shows,
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: some things are, I think Black Widow's his movie, but
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: I think whatever's going on with Hawkeye and his daughter,
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: I think is TV show. I think Loki is TV show,
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: and I think Scarlet Witch is TV show. I think
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: Widow's the only one that's like slated for a movie. So,
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: I mean, for all we know, it doesn't even have
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: to be a series. It could just, I mean, I
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: think no one knows, so I think we just assume
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: it's going to be a series. Well, maybe it's just
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: like a TV special. It's like Netflix. Like, here's this
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: low-key movie. Yeah. You know, it just kind of explains
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: his adventures when he had the cube for a moment,
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: how he got caught again. You know, it could be
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: stuff like that. I don't know, because like I said,
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: I would love to see Captain America go putting all
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: those stones back. Because that's no small feat. Him meeting
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: the Ancient One. Like I said, he's such an interesting character.
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: Just him interacting with other people is exciting to me.
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: To see him have a conversation with the Ancient One,
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: essentially going, we're going to do it. Here's the stone back.
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: Like that's just, that would be really gratifying. I really did.
- 1:21:44Speaker 6: Like, even though we were damn near three hours in,
- 1:21:47Speaker 6: like he got up there in the pad and I'm.
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: Like, all right, let's go.
- 1:21:49Speaker 8: I was waiting for another 20 minute offshoot of like
- 1:21:53Speaker 8: him going. And even if they were quick scenes of
- 1:21:55Speaker 8: him putting everything back and getting things back in order
- 1:21:58Speaker 8: and like wherever.
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: It was going to lead to.
- 1:22:00Speaker 8: And like, they almost just jumped straight to it so quick.
- 1:22:02Speaker 8: I was like, but not only did I want that,
- 1:22:04Speaker 8: like I kind of wanted, again, we're three hours in,
- 1:22:07Speaker 8: but I'm like, but I want more movie.
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:22:09Speaker 6: So it is weird that.
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: Like, that just, that was a weird, I'm.
- 1:22:14Speaker 8: Not jumping all the way to the end, but just
- 1:22:15Speaker 8: talking that the flow of it, like we had such
- 1:22:17Speaker 8: a big triumphant send off for, for Tony. And like,
- 1:22:22Speaker 8: we almost like, it's a sweet version for, for captain,
- 1:22:26Speaker 8: but it's like, it's not, I don't know.
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: He's not dead yet either.
- 1:22:30Speaker 6: He's not dead either, but it's.
- 1:22:31Speaker 8: Definitely a send off for the character, the way that
- 1:22:34Speaker 8: we've known him, the version of who he's been in
- 1:22:36Speaker 8: every one of these movies.
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: I felt like, I felt like it was really sweet.
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: I mean, the dude, think about everything this dude did.
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: He fought World War II, frozen for who knows how long,
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: and has literally survived every movie, every villain for all
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: this stuff.
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: For him to get to have a regular life is awesome.
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: I mean, it doesn't matter what happens to him now.
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: He's had the greatest life ever. It was a sweet
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: way to wrap it up. But it also was just
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: so not... It was such a calm way to go out,
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: which I guess maybe we needed after all of that,
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: but I was just.
- 1:23:15Speaker 8: Like, it was not the way I saw it wrapping up.
- 1:23:17Speaker 8: So when the music kicked in and credits, I was like, shit,
- 1:23:20Speaker 8: I guess this really is how we're going. I think
- 1:23:22Speaker 8: it makes sense for Rodgers, though. I think that's exactly
- 1:23:24Speaker 8: what he would want.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: Yeah, he's nonviolent.
- 1:23:26Speaker 7: He's a nonviolent guy that is just always- Which is
- 1:23:28Speaker 7: what makes him the perfect hero.
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: It's the reluctant hero. It's the one that doesn't necessarily
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: have an ego about it. It's the right thing to do,
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: kind of.
- 1:23:36Speaker 6: He's America's ass.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: That was hilarious. That was a good one. Man, him
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: fighting himself was awesome.
- 1:23:41Speaker 6: Again, there's so many moments in this where I'm like,
- 1:23:44Speaker 6: didn't know this was coming.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: I can do this all day. Because, man, just that
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: was fantastic. Him using Thor's hammer was fucking glorious. That's
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: what I was going to ask.
- 1:23:54Speaker 6: I was like, when it got to that moment, I
- 1:23:56Speaker 6: was just like.
- 1:23:57Speaker 7: I'm surprised he didn't sprout little wings on the sides
- 1:23:59Speaker 7: of him.
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: Oh, man, that would have been great. I would have
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: loved it.
- 1:24:04Speaker 6: The moment he just showed up with it, I was just.
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: Like, oh, man. That whole... Again, we haven't fully addressed
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: the finale area. Because it's so visual. Like I said,
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: it's hard to talk about it analytically because it's just...
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: I don't want anyone to use the word fan service
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: because I feel like that's a snarky thing to say.
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: It's the third act, and it delivered everywhere. If you
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: want to call that fan service... Where else is a
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: better place to use fan service than at the fucking end? Like, yeah,
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: there was a ton of fan service and it was epic. Like,
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: so many great scenes.
- 1:24:37Speaker 8: It was epic in a way I don't, again, like,
- 1:24:40Speaker 8: I don't even know how to describe. And I realized
- 1:24:43Speaker 8: that that was the other time when, like, I was
- 1:24:46Speaker 8: out of the.
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: Movie just enough to go, I'm having a really weird
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: reaction to this.
- 1:24:51Speaker 6: Like, it was like I was physically breathing weird.
- 1:24:54Speaker 8: And I was just, I, for a second went, the
- 1:24:57Speaker 8: fuck's going on i'm like oh this i'm like looking
- 1:25:01Speaker 8: at the screen i'm like jesus i'm responding to this
- 1:25:03Speaker 8: in a way that i don't think any scene ever
- 1:25:06Speaker 8: in any movie and i've been watching movies a long
- 1:25:08Speaker 8: fucking time but i'm just like as much as and
- 1:25:12Speaker 8: i think that's part of it too is like had
- 1:25:14Speaker 8: i just seen this as a kid i'd be like
- 1:25:16Speaker 8: this is awesome like i remember watching star wars and
- 1:25:19Speaker 8: it was awesome that first time but it was also
- 1:25:21Speaker 8: that first time through I think this far in, having
- 1:25:25Speaker 8: undertaken as much movie geekdom as I have and all
- 1:25:28Speaker 8: of these movies too, there was that half second when
- 1:25:31Speaker 8: I stopped and it all kind of hit. And it really,
- 1:25:34Speaker 8: when it comes together in that big finale, it is.
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: Like a big finale.
- 1:25:40Speaker 8: It's been leading to this, not just these 22 movies,
- 1:25:42Speaker 8: but our whole damn lives.
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: If you're bringing that.
- 1:25:46Speaker 6: Much to these movies, it really.
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: Does hit in a weird way that It was amazing. Like,
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: I was just.
- 1:25:55Speaker 7: And everyone had their moment. Like, every single character had
- 1:25:58Speaker 7: their moment to truly shine. When the Valkyrie came through,
- 1:26:03Speaker 7: I was just like, yes!
- 1:26:05Speaker 8: I was just glad to see her back in. They
- 1:26:07Speaker 8: can put Tessa in every movie now, which she kind
- 1:26:09Speaker 8: of is. Like, every time I turn around, she's in
- 1:26:11Speaker 8: something new.
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: I'm like, good. She's the queen now.
- 1:26:14Speaker 6: Yeah, and he hands it over so he can go
- 1:26:17Speaker 6: be a fat dude in space.
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: But no.
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: But it is awesome. I'm like, yeah, who else are
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: you going to give it to?
- 1:26:23Speaker 8: She's the only one that kind of kept your whole
- 1:26:26Speaker 8: town going while you were playing video games. She's the
- 1:26:29Speaker 8: only one that kept the planet going before that. She
- 1:26:33Speaker 8: was the one responsible when she got off the booze. Again,
- 1:26:37Speaker 8: Asgardians have a problem with booze. But yeah, it's like
- 1:26:41Speaker 8: that was just an odd. But all of those triumphant moments,
- 1:26:45Speaker 8: and not just Valkyrie, but we definitely had that moment
- 1:26:48Speaker 8: of like, Yeah, you guys say we don't have strong
- 1:26:50Speaker 8: female characters, huh?
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: There's a very specific, hey, guess what? The A-Force scene.
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: There is a, I want to say it's fairly recent,
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: but there is a clique of all the female Marvel heroes,
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: and it's called A-Force. And so that's what that was referencing,
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: because I had a dude, of course some asshole, like
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: I'm talking about this movie, he was kind of sexist,
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: doing all the girls for one scene. I'm like, it's
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: fucking canon, shut up.
- 1:27:16Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:27:17Speaker 7: I was wondering if it was canon, because I was like,
- 1:27:19Speaker 7: if that's not canon, then that's like slightly heavy-handed, that
- 1:27:23Speaker 7: they just all happen to be in the same place
- 1:27:25Speaker 7: at the same time.
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: Well, that's definitely true, but it was a comic nod.
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: They do form a group called A-Force, so that was...
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: But in general, I think it was also that.
- 1:27:34Speaker 8: It is almost answering back that it started off where
- 1:27:38Speaker 8: it was a bunch of dudes and one girl, and
- 1:27:41Speaker 8: it's like, we've, we've learned, we've grown, you know, we're
- 1:27:44Speaker 8: building this and we realize as we go along, there
- 1:27:47Speaker 8: are all these little girls out there that are looking
- 1:27:50Speaker 8: up to these movies the same way these little boys are.
- 1:27:52Speaker 8: And like, we're trying to show you, Hey, No, really.
- 1:27:55Speaker 8: We've got really impressive, strong female characters here.
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: And there are a lot of them. And they're all coming.
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: They dropped like two dozen on you. Pick one. They're
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: not the ones that just died.
- 1:28:05Speaker 7: They might be spread out on different movies, but they're
- 1:28:07Speaker 7: all there.
- 1:28:08Speaker 8: They're all coming in new forms in the future. And
- 1:28:11Speaker 8: that was almost like the promise shot. Just like all
- 1:28:15Speaker 8: of this is still coming. As that tingles. yeah i'm
- 1:28:18Speaker 8: like it was like it was a great moment like
- 1:28:20Speaker 8: there again everything going on in that but that was
- 1:28:23Speaker 8: one of those that i was like this is a
- 1:28:24Speaker 8: very conscious move of yeah look what we're doing here
- 1:28:28Speaker 8: like this i don't know i thought that was pretty.
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: Impressive and it happened kind of right after you saw
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: the three guys try to beat thanos right after like
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: stark thor and and rogers have their thing you know
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: it's moments later they come out and then you get
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: to see scarlet witch like i said him him the
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: f up you get to see captain marvel take a
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: hit and like what so i mean it also shows
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: it wasn't only them that could handle thanos it was
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: like no legit these aren't sidekicks these are people that
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: can yeah Scarlet Witch is way bigger than they've ever
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: let on. She is beyond Professor X kind of strong,
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: and they have kind of been downplaying her.
- 1:29:02Speaker 8: Well, especially this movie, we didn't get much with her,
- 1:29:04Speaker 8: but that's where I kind of wanted her.
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: I wish she would at least name-dropped Vision. I mean, she.
- 1:29:10Speaker 8: Referenced him at the very end, but not by name.
- 1:29:14Speaker 8: But yeah, I was like, that's kind of what I
- 1:29:17Speaker 8: wanted in her scene with Thanos was also not only
- 1:29:20Speaker 8: to be.
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: The badass that she is, but to use what she is.
- 1:29:24Speaker 8: So because it's so mind-oriented what she does, I almost
- 1:29:29Speaker 8: wanted this to be the way that he goes out
- 1:29:31Speaker 8: or at least weakens him so much that he gets
- 1:29:33Speaker 8: taken out with another headshot. But I wanted her to
- 1:29:37Speaker 8: basically take all of the pain.
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: Not only just.
- 1:29:41Speaker 8: From her and Vision, but maybe from everyone that he
- 1:29:44Speaker 8: wronged in the world and just shove it into his brain.
- 1:29:48Speaker 6: Which she can kind of do.
- 1:29:49Speaker 8: So I'm like within that moment, like I wanted her
- 1:29:51Speaker 8: to like almost to be the payback of like, yeah,
- 1:29:55Speaker 8: here's what you made everyone else feel.
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: How about if you experience it all right now? Like that,
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:30:01Speaker 8: I kind of wanted her to have that revenge because
- 1:30:03Speaker 8: she's the one that takes so much.
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: What movie is that from? That's happened in a movie.
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: I've seen, yeah.
- 1:30:08Speaker 8: Someone's like, here's all their pain. That's why I've seen
- 1:30:11Speaker 8: that at least once, if not a couple of times.
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: So I was like, okay, maybe it's. It's the crow,
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: isn't it? yeah definitely like at the end like again
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: i feel like it's a.
- 1:30:19Speaker 8: Couple of their pain at once so it's not the
- 1:30:22Speaker 8: most original but with her i was like but it
- 1:30:24Speaker 8: is that would have been for her that would have
- 1:30:26Speaker 8: been a fantastic poetic like you know because.
- 1:30:29Speaker 6: All of hers are weird mind power and because she
- 1:30:31Speaker 6: took so much pain from the vision scenario that last
- 1:30:35Speaker 6: movie like i really wanted hers to be the revenge
- 1:30:37Speaker 6: of it all of just like yeah here's how you're
- 1:30:40Speaker 6: going down with all the pain that you caused Yeah,
- 1:30:44Speaker 6: I thought that.
- 1:30:44Speaker 8: Would have, again, we get her moment, but I really
- 1:30:47Speaker 8: was kind of hoping they would take it that level of, like,
- 1:30:50Speaker 8: having her be the instrument that kind of takes it down.
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: She would have beat him.
- 1:30:53Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: I mean, like I said, they set that up in
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: a way where it's like, if nobody else was there,
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: if it had just been one-on-one, she was just going
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: to stand there and choke him out. Like, he was stuck.
- 1:31:03Speaker 7: I kind of wonder, like, you have me thinking about
- 1:31:05Speaker 7: how Marvel's been doing all these bait-and-switches and, like, They
- 1:31:08Speaker 7: don't talk about something. And then in the next movie,
- 1:31:10Speaker 7: it's a big thing. Or if they talk about it,
- 1:31:12Speaker 7: I'm like, so they didn't name drop Vision at all.
- 1:31:14Speaker 7: So what does that mean in Marvel reverse psychology land?
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: The Vision movie's next?
- 1:31:20Speaker 10: Well, you know.
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: They're skipping that Spider-Man thing. Straight to Vision. So here's
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: the thing. They teased Adam Warlock in the end of
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: the second Guardians of the Galaxy. I forgot all about
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: that until I was writing shit down today.
- 1:31:31Speaker 3: I was like.
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: Warlock wasn't even there. There was a small part of
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: me that thought that would be some secret drop. And
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: I'm glad he wasn't because I think that would have
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: been bad.
- 1:31:40Speaker 8: I almost assumed he would come in like Captain Marvel does.
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: Yeah, that he just kind of comes in at the
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: end and you're like, whoa, what the fuck is this?
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: Where did he come from? And then they do the
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: big Adam Warlock reveal.
- 1:31:53Speaker 8: Again, that's almost not balanced and not good, but that's
- 1:31:57Speaker 8: more of where I thought they were going to go
- 1:31:58Speaker 8: with that instead of.
- 1:31:59Speaker 6: Not addressing it.
- 1:32:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: Like, they definitely opted not to use him, which was
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: strange as a comic reader. Because like I said, he's
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: the main force against Thanos. But he is tightly connected
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: to the Lifestone in the comics. Like, that's just... It's
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: almost insinuated at a point that he's like an embodiment
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: of it. Maybe when he comes around, he'll have the
- 1:32:22Speaker 2: ability to kind of exit souls from the Lifestone. Because
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: I believe... I forget in the comic if you go
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: into the Lifestone or if it becomes you. I think
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: he's somehow synonymous with the Lifestone in the comics. So
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: maybe if they kind of play that a little bit
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: in the movies, he can pop out Gamora and Black
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: Widow somehow. Like maybe if he chooses to, you know,
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: I don't know. They have options. He's obviously going to happen.
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: They said him by name. They said Adam. So, I mean.
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: And like I said, that's his thing in the movie
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: is a lifestone. So maybe that'll play in the future
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: and somehow get Vision back too. I don't know. I mean,
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: they swapped out Gamora. So we have her now. It's
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: not exactly the same. It's just shitty to think that
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: she's still dead though. Like if I was Peter Quill,
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: that would not make me very happy. Oh my God.
- 1:33:05Speaker 7: What if they pop out that Gamora and then that
- 1:33:08Speaker 7: Gamora and the new Gamora have to fight?
- 1:33:11Speaker 6: It's the Captain America all over.
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: Nebula's story is really beautiful too when you think about
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: it now like she as much as she's always been
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: background yeah her story is really she had a lot
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: of screen time this movie like she really came around
- 1:33:25Speaker 2: and like just i love her maybe it's just these
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: type of characters but even the small moments would start
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: playing football and he's just like did you have fun
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: and real angry she's like i had fun it's like
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: those i love those things where she's you know it's
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: like She's softening up, but she doesn't want to show
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: it at all. I feel like she, and to play
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: the two parts, I felt like she was great. Whatever,
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: I forget her name. The girl from Doctor Who. I
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: thought she killed it.
- 1:33:49Speaker 7: They took a lot of these B characters and made
- 1:33:52Speaker 7: them B plus to A minus. They just did so
- 1:33:54Speaker 7: much character development in.
- 1:33:55Speaker 6: So little time. That's the other one I thought when
- 1:33:59Speaker 6: they're playing football there, and he's like, oh, you won.
- 1:34:01Speaker 6: I was waiting for her to go, I've never won.
- 1:34:04Speaker 8: Gamora beat her everything they ever did. I was waiting
- 1:34:08Speaker 8: for this shocked to hit her of like i've never
- 1:34:10Speaker 8: won a competition ever.
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: Like that's why i look like i do.
- 1:34:14Speaker 8: Punishment so like yeah it was it was a fun
- 1:34:18Speaker 8: little moment but it also like had way more for
- 1:34:20Speaker 8: her going on.
- 1:34:21Speaker 2: What and again i don't know if i'm being hyper
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: analytical but i can't stop thinking around i find myself
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: trying to make these connections that might not even actually
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: exist but thanos's last words We're looking at Nebula and saying,
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: maybe I was too hard on you. It's him realizing
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: you're my undoing. I was such an asshole to you.
- 1:34:41Speaker 2: You're the one that causes my undoing. I felt like
- 1:34:44Speaker 2: that was acknowledgement. Because in the comic, Nebula takes the
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: glove off of him for a moment. And I thought
- 1:34:48Speaker 2: that that was going to happen somewhere in these movies.
- 1:34:51Speaker 2: But I feel like that was their way of kind
- 1:34:52Speaker 2: of doing it instead of like, no, she was still
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: the reason why you lost. Like, you were such a
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: shitty dad. And you were looking beyond her all this
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: time that you fucked up. And so for her to
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: be the one that kind of causes the whole downfall,
- 1:35:06Speaker 2: I was like, I feel like her story is fantastic.
- 1:35:08Speaker 7: Like both times.
- 1:35:09Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:35:09Speaker 7: Like she leads them to him in like the beginning
- 1:35:12Speaker 7: of the movie. And then if she hadn't stopped her
- 1:35:14Speaker 7: past self, then Thanos would have gotten the gauntlet.
- 1:35:18Speaker 2: Got the glove again.
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:35:20Speaker 6: But again, they're both okay in that storyline, right?
- 1:35:23Speaker 2: So moving forward, do we have two of her in
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: our- Who, Nebula?
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: Old Nebula's dead.
- 1:35:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: She killed herself. She shot her old self. Because that's
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: what proves that you stay alive. That's what happened with it. Okay,
- 1:35:34Speaker 2: I was trying to remember. Is she going to fade here?
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: And then she does, and you're like, oh. I was
- 1:35:38Speaker 2: trying to remember what happened in that little battle. Okay,
- 1:35:40Speaker 2: so time is weird. You just killed your old self,
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: and you're still here.
- 1:35:44Speaker 8: So yeah, their timeline doesn't make any sense, but it's
- 1:35:48Speaker 8: almost creating its own way that they're, like how it's
- 1:35:51Speaker 8: going to work in the Marvel Universe.
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: Well, plus now the stones are still here. I think
- 1:35:56Speaker 2: that's also weird.
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:35:57Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:35:58Speaker 2: I mean, part of me, again, the first time watching it,
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: when you find out Thanos destroyed the stones in my head,
- 1:36:05Speaker 2: I was like, okay, that's just tidying up for the
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: next phase. Yeah, so we don't have to worry about
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: that anymore. If you have this deus ex machina, you
- 1:36:11Speaker 2: can always try to go do. So with it ending
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: with the stones still around, I'm like, oh, okay. I
- 1:36:17Speaker 2: thought you guys were going to legit somehow destroy them
- 1:36:20Speaker 2: or put them away. But if they're still out there,
- 1:36:22Speaker 2: I would like to think they wouldn't ever go to
- 1:36:25Speaker 2: that well again.
- 1:36:26Speaker 6: So he goes and.
- 1:36:27Speaker 7: Puts the stones back. And then, like, are the stones
- 1:36:32Speaker 7: then reappeared?
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: I guess they are still destroyed, right? They're still destroyed
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: because of their timeline. Because if you can't change the past,
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: are Thanos still?
- 1:36:38Speaker 7: There are no stones.
- 1:36:40Speaker 2: Jeez. Well, then, what is Adam Warlock's point? Adam is
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: literally tied to the stones. That's the only time he
- 1:36:47Speaker 2: shows up is when Infinity Stones are involved. Like, why
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: would Adam even- I guess maybe we'll find out in Spider-Man?
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: I don't know. That is weird. That is weird.
- 1:36:55Speaker 8: While we're, again, like, of just super- geeky moments when
- 1:36:59Speaker 8: they take the stones and put them in an Iron
- 1:37:01Speaker 8: Man glove. I was just like, oh man, like there's just,
- 1:37:05Speaker 8: there's something like, but because the Iron Man tech has
- 1:37:08Speaker 8: become the core of everything going on in this universe,
- 1:37:12Speaker 8: even so much as taking over Spider-Man almost, but like
- 1:37:14Speaker 8: the Iron Man tech is what like holds everything together
- 1:37:19Speaker 8: in this whole little Avengers world. So like the fact
- 1:37:22Speaker 8: that that is like what they use. to like completely
- 1:37:25Speaker 8: undo him is, I don't know.
- 1:37:27Speaker 2: That moment was kind of amazing. I like that the
- 1:37:30Speaker 2: whole fate of the battle came down to a sleight
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: of hand.
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:37:36Speaker 2: It wasn't power. It wasn't, I guess in a way
- 1:37:38Speaker 2: you could say it was being clever, but that, you know,
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: getting hit by Thanos so that he could just get
- 1:37:44Speaker 2: the gems off the bottom like that. Because the first time,
- 1:37:48Speaker 2: I'm going to say I missed it, but the first time,
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: you know, like he gets hit a little and I
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: was like, oh, I guess he got him in that. Yeah,
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: it goes so quick. The second time I watched it,
- 1:37:56Speaker 2: I realized you can see the hand grab the glove.
- 1:37:59Speaker 2: Like the second time you can see, be like, oh,
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: that's when he did it right there. He grabs the glove,
- 1:38:03Speaker 2: but doesn't grab it. He took the hit, but he
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: knew he was just going for the stones and he
- 1:38:06Speaker 2: ripped them off there. So again, but like maybe my
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: head was just so just dazed from real world stuff.
- 1:38:14Speaker 2: You know, as much as I was paying attention, maybe
- 1:38:16Speaker 2: I was just missing things because the second time, like
- 1:38:19Speaker 2: I said, the pacing felt great. Just all those little
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: things stood out more. I think it's just going to
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: get better the more you watch it. I feel like
- 1:38:24Speaker 2: this is one of those ones that gets better and
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: better the more that you watch it.
- 1:38:27Speaker 6: Yeah. They put so much work into.
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: Tying.
- 1:38:31Speaker 6: Again, they're referencing lines from... The first movie.
- 1:38:36Speaker 2: The first movie, definitely.
- 1:38:38Speaker 6: You're going all the way back to.
- 1:38:39Speaker 2: The first movie, even.
- 1:38:40Speaker 8: They're going back to random lines they said in the
- 1:38:42Speaker 8: middle of Ultron. They're just all these weird minor little
- 1:38:46Speaker 8: things that I'm like, they really spent so much time
- 1:38:50Speaker 8: like just creating this lattice that this whole movie has
- 1:38:54Speaker 8: become that I don't know. It's really, it is impressive
- 1:38:58Speaker 8: more so like the fact that we get again, like
- 1:39:01Speaker 8: going into our own movies is one thing, but almost
- 1:39:04Speaker 8: like recreating our own scene when, when the other captain.
- 1:39:08Speaker 2: Gets on the elevator, I was just like, Oh man,
- 1:39:11Speaker 2: I was.
- 1:39:11Speaker 6: Like, this is awesome.
- 1:39:13Speaker 8: And you're like, You're patting yourself on the back because
- 1:39:16Speaker 8: you guys also made that movie.
- 1:39:18Speaker 2: But that is one of the best scenes in the
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: entire universe. I'm glad they did that the way they
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: did it.
- 1:39:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: Because I found myself... I didn't want to see the
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: fight again.
- 1:39:27Speaker 10: Right.
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: And that was my thing. I was like, okay, I
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: know he can do this. But part of me was like,
- 1:39:32Speaker 2: but do we need to see it again?
- 1:39:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:39:33Speaker 2: So again, when they did the comic nod, this was
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: such a big deal. I forget if I mentioned this
- 1:39:38Speaker 2: on a previous one or not, but it was such...
- 1:39:41Speaker 2: a big deal when they did a story arc where
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: he was Hydra like five years ago. It was the
- 1:39:46Speaker 2: kind of thing where you had people like, you know,
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: quitting Marvel, burning their comic, Captain America comics and stuff.
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: So for them, again, to give a little nod and
- 1:39:55Speaker 2: canonize it a little and go, you know, well, here's
- 1:39:58Speaker 2: that moment. You know, here's why he maybe would lie
- 1:40:01Speaker 2: like that. I thought it was good. I thought that
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: was really good. A good deep cut. Not that deep,
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: but it was good to do that for the comic, too.
- 1:40:08Speaker 8: It's future version of Cap, like, using what he knows. And, like,
- 1:40:13Speaker 8: it's what they've learned this whole journey and going back to, like, oh,
- 1:40:18Speaker 8: I was kind of an idiot before. Like, this was
- 1:40:20Speaker 8: all going on right around me. Like, Ant-Man even calls
- 1:40:23Speaker 8: him out. Ant-Man's like, how.
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: Do you not know these are bad guys? Look at them.
- 1:40:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:40:30Speaker 2: Even a little Crossbones reappearance. Like, yeah, we get all the... Yeah,
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: so there's just little nods to all that stuff. Redford.
- 1:40:38Speaker 2: Redford came back for that scene. The one that killed...
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: The ancient one. I forget her name. Portman. I was like,
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: I thought she was out. Oh, no.
- 1:40:45Speaker 8: I heard that was old footage. I heard that was
- 1:40:47Speaker 8: doctor footage from Dark War. Well, I mean, they still
- 1:40:48Speaker 8: bothered to credit her in the end, so even if
- 1:40:50Speaker 8: she didn't come back, the fact that she.
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: I heard she didn't, though. I heard that she wouldn't
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: even show up to do that cameo and that they
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: had to use Dark World footage to get that through.
- 1:40:59Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:41:00Speaker 8: Just enough that we saw her, I was like, I'm
- 1:41:02Speaker 8: surprised she didn't find some legal reason.
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: Like, you can't use my image. I can't understand why
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: she wouldn't go and support you. This is literally the
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: biggest thing, at least financially, ever. Why do you want
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: to not.
- 1:41:14Speaker 11: Be a part of it?
- 1:41:15Speaker 3: Jesus.
- 1:41:17Speaker 2: It's just one last cameo. What's so offensive? Look at
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: some of your other movies, Boo. What are you so
- 1:41:23Speaker 2: offended about? Well, that's what I was going to say.
- 1:41:25Speaker 8: You don't have the strongest character in those movies, but
- 1:41:28Speaker 8: maybe you can fix that. Again, we're moving forward. You're
- 1:41:32Speaker 8: not dead in some timeline somewhere. Maybe you can come
- 1:41:35Speaker 8: back and improve upon it because, yeah, she's she's not
- 1:41:39Speaker 8: got much to do in either of those movies.
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: So like, I.
- 1:41:42Speaker 7: Understand how they're like improving all these other characters that
- 1:41:45Speaker 7: didn't get the right screen time or development. And now
- 1:41:47Speaker 7: they are, it's like, girl, you have an opportunity here.
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:41:51Speaker 6: It's learning from those.
- 1:41:52Speaker 8: Like she was some of the mistakes probably, because I
- 1:41:55Speaker 8: feel that way with both of those first two Thor movies.
- 1:41:58Speaker 8: I'm like, there's some missteps there and you can see
- 1:42:00Speaker 8: it and you can see them learning and probably take
- 1:42:03Speaker 8: a note somewhere.
- 1:42:04Speaker 6: Just like, okay.
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:42:05Speaker 2: We can do this. We can.
- 1:42:06Speaker 8: So like you see, by the time we get to
- 1:42:08Speaker 8: this movie, it's a totally different universe that they've built.
- 1:42:12Speaker 8: And yeah, I don't think she would be that same
- 1:42:15Speaker 8: generic kind of the girlfriend character that she is in
- 1:42:18Speaker 8: that first movie specifically.
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: And I don't think she does much of anything. I don't,
- 1:42:21Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:42:22Speaker 7: Maybe she just doesn't want to do superhero movies.
- 1:42:24Speaker 2: That too.
- 1:42:25Speaker 6: But I mean, she was just in a big cheesy
- 1:42:27Speaker 6: sci-fi movie.
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: That's really good.
- 1:42:28Speaker 8: But like, it's not like she wants to do nothing
- 1:42:31Speaker 8: but fancy Oscar movies. Like she's still okay with doing
- 1:42:35Speaker 8: popcorn ish kind of movies.
- 1:42:37Speaker 2: So it's weird that she's just, Nope, no Marvel.
- 1:42:39Speaker 6: Like, that's strange.
- 1:42:41Speaker 2: I feel like that's probably best for the character.
- 1:42:43Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:42:44Speaker 2: I don't think it's helping or hurting, really, for Thor
- 1:42:49Speaker 2: to be dating anyone, but it probably would hold his
- 1:42:51Speaker 2: character back at this point. Just let him be what
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: he is now.
- 1:42:54Speaker 8: Well, and I think that's part of, again, that's part
- 1:42:56Speaker 8: of him growing. Like, you see him, like, so much
- 1:42:58Speaker 8: of him is caught up with he's caught up in
- 1:43:01Speaker 8: the mom's stuff, dad's stuff, but then, like, losing her, too. Like,
- 1:43:06Speaker 8: that obviously was kind of the first person he cared about. Like,
- 1:43:09Speaker 8: he was sort of a jerk for the run of
- 1:43:11Speaker 8: thousands of years there, and, like, that was him sort of, like,
- 1:43:14Speaker 8: coming to terms with whatever humanity he has in him,
- 1:43:18Speaker 8: and now he's, like, dealing with the after effects of, like, oh, yeah,
- 1:43:21Speaker 8: that didn't work at all, and what the fuck am
- 1:43:23Speaker 8: I without that? And so watching him kind of grow
- 1:43:27Speaker 8: and get past that, I.
- 1:43:28Speaker 6: Think, is way more useful as a character, so... When
- 1:43:31Speaker 6: he starts, I don't know, dating the girl with the antennas.
- 1:43:34Speaker 2: As Rocket puts it. His heartfelt moment. And he's like,
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: I don't know, that girl with the antennas.
- 1:43:41Speaker 6: Rocket's so damn awesome.
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: He was really good in this. He is, yeah. He's
- 1:43:45Speaker 2: done it a lot. He really was. You go back
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: to the first Guardians movie, I wouldn't have thought he
- 1:43:50Speaker 2: would have been carrying these kind of roles. I thought
- 1:43:53Speaker 2: he just would have been background humor.
- 1:43:56Speaker 6: He and Nebula are really the only ones carrying that.
- 1:43:59Speaker 2: God, and again, when they fucking hold hands. Like I said, Nebula,
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: for some reason, Nebula in particular, her growth really affected
- 1:44:08Speaker 2: me a lot. When they show up, when Captain, the beginning,
- 1:44:13Speaker 2: when Marvel first brings the ship back and Tony and
- 1:44:15Speaker 2: Rogers are arguing, and Nebula just sits on the ramp
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: and Rocket gets on the ramp and just puts his
- 1:44:21Speaker 2: hand out. And, you know, and, like, Nebula, like, holds
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: his hand. I was like, get the fuck out, man.
- 1:44:27Speaker 6: It shouldn't be as good as it is sometimes. Like,
- 1:44:30Speaker 6: damn it.
- 1:44:31Speaker 2: That theater was insane when I saw it. Like, I
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: don't do sporting events, but I assume that's what it's
- 1:44:36Speaker 2: like to be in a sporting event. Like, that last
- 1:44:38Speaker 2: half an hour, fuck silence. I mean, cheering, laughing, crying,
- 1:44:43Speaker 2: just the whole last half hour was so loud. The
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: big one. And no one cared. I mean, I don't
- 1:44:47Speaker 2: say it in a bad way. Everyone was totally into
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: that stuff. my kids were totally.
- 1:44:51Speaker 7: Silent the entire time and i was like what you're weirdos.
- 1:44:55Speaker 2: There was a lot of kids and they lost their
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: stuff so many times when spider-man showed back up yeah
- 1:45:04Speaker 2: as much as other scenes you know might have been
- 1:45:06Speaker 2: bigger plot wise the kids lost their total minds when
- 1:45:11Speaker 2: he's when they're opening the portals and everyone's coming, when
- 1:45:14Speaker 2: he flips and lands on that rock, it just, it
- 1:45:16Speaker 2: was deafening. The kids love Spider-Man.
- 1:45:18Speaker 6: The big one in my theater was when the Black
- 1:45:21Speaker 6: Panther trio comes out.
- 1:45:22Speaker 2: When the silhouette. And people like lost it.
- 1:45:25Speaker 8: They were like that, you know, not only is it,
- 1:45:27Speaker 8: you know, okay, they're coming, like here comes the rest
- 1:45:30Speaker 8: of the heroes, but just Black Panther, like people just
- 1:45:33Speaker 8: loved when he showed up.
- 1:45:34Speaker 2: So I'm like, that's awesome.
- 1:45:37Speaker 8: While we're on the Spider-Man, okay, this was one that
- 1:45:40Speaker 8: occurred to me in the last couple of days. And
- 1:45:42Speaker 8: it's me thinking too much already.
- 1:45:43Speaker 6: But we get that flash when he goes back to
- 1:45:48Speaker 6: high school.
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: I've heard people talk about this.
- 1:45:51Speaker 6: I mean, what happened?
- 1:45:52Speaker 8: Why is high school normal?
- 1:45:56Speaker 6: What is his friend?
- 1:45:56Speaker 2: Is it Ned? Yeah, I've heard the theory that what
- 1:46:00Speaker 2: will probably pan out, you'll find out that his close
- 1:46:02Speaker 2: friends powdered. All got snapped. You know, that, yeah, half
- 1:46:05Speaker 2: the school maybe didn't, but that... MJ would have to.
- 1:46:08Speaker 6: Like, everybody's still there. Like, the dorky jerk kid, like,
- 1:46:11Speaker 6: is still there.
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: Like, so everybody that's... I heard someone make the joke
- 1:46:13Speaker 2: that maybe his friends are just really stupid and they're
- 1:46:15Speaker 2: still in school, so he still has to go to
- 1:46:17Speaker 2: school with them.
- 1:46:17Speaker 6: I was like, why is everybody still in high school
- 1:46:20Speaker 6: at the same... Because five... It's not like we went
- 1:46:22Speaker 6: back in time. Five years passed for everyone else.
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that would be bizarre. I mean, imagine, like, one
- 1:46:25Speaker 2: day you're a junior... or I guess, like, maybe, yeah, like,
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: a junior in high school, and you come back to
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: go to high school, and you don't know anyone now, like,
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: all the people, you know, are, like, gone, it's all
- 1:46:34Speaker 2: these new people with a couple stragglers, yeah, I mean,
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: it's a very, the world's still screwed, like, it's a
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: very weird place.
- 1:46:42Speaker 6: It's weird, and again, I like that, like, they didn't
- 1:46:45Speaker 6: go safe with anything, they didn't go, okay, everything's back
- 1:46:47Speaker 6: to normal, like, it's rebuilding from here on out, and, like,
- 1:46:50Speaker 6: that's awesome, and leads to weird things, like, why are
- 1:46:54Speaker 6: all your friends still there?
- 1:46:55Speaker 2: Like, I wonder, not getting ahead at all, and I'm
- 1:46:59Speaker 2: not even trying to start these conversations, but it makes
- 1:47:01Speaker 2: me wonder, do they have a plan to use all
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: this to introduce mutants? If somehow this is how you
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: get X-Men down the line. They did. I did see
- 1:47:10Speaker 2: a lot of that this weekend. One of the things
- 1:47:14Speaker 2: I was reading was at.
- 1:47:16Speaker 8: The end, they're like, no Fantastic Four! Everybody was like,
- 1:47:20Speaker 8: they didn't do any X-Men tie-in. No Fantastic Four. Any
- 1:47:23Speaker 8: of the newly acquired stuff doesn't ever make an appearance
- 1:47:28Speaker 8: so it's like are they still keeping everything separate or
- 1:47:31Speaker 8: are they working on a much bigger phase somewhere down
- 1:47:34Speaker 8: the line.
- 1:47:35Speaker 2: There's one possible like when they're having a roll call
- 1:47:40Speaker 2: when she's having a sandwich scene yeah and they make
- 1:47:43Speaker 2: the joke about the underwater earthquake that could be namor
- 1:47:47Speaker 2: because apparently well essentially namor yeah um Apparently, he's been cast. Like,
- 1:47:52Speaker 2: I heard the dude that played Spock in the newer
- 1:47:55Speaker 2: Star Treks is cast as Namor. Because Aquaman made a
- 1:47:59Speaker 2: million dollars. Millions and millions. They were like, all right,
- 1:48:02Speaker 2: I guess we need an underwater dude, too. Whatever. I mean,
- 1:48:05Speaker 2: you know, somewhere in an office, they made that call.
- 1:48:08Speaker 2: In the comics' defense, he is considered, like, Omega. He
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: is one of the biggies. But, yeah, the timing is
- 1:48:15Speaker 2: kind of like, oh, wow, Aquaman made a billion? Maybe
- 1:48:17Speaker 2: we should get our Aquaman in here. I guess we
- 1:48:19Speaker 2: got to get Aquaman. that could be a reference to
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: him but like i said it's so weak it's whatever
- 1:48:23Speaker 2: but ultimately have now that it's came and went i'm
- 1:48:27Speaker 2: kind of glad because i like how this feels like
- 1:48:32Speaker 2: compartmentalized like you know from iron man to here i
- 1:48:34Speaker 2: feel like you got a tight story with ends yeah
- 1:48:37Speaker 2: deaths and ends you know not To be continued, like,
- 1:48:40Speaker 2: for a lot of these characters, that's it.
- 1:48:42Speaker 8: I mean, there's offshoots, but, yeah, like, of our main
- 1:48:46Speaker 8: four that survived, like, even Scarlet, you know, or even,
- 1:48:52Speaker 8: you know, Black Widow. It's, like, the only one that's
- 1:48:54Speaker 8: really got side movies coming up. Is Thor going into
- 1:48:58Speaker 8: the Guardian's world?
- 1:49:00Speaker 2: And is that confirmed? Like I said, the movie ends
- 1:49:02Speaker 2: like that, but I haven't heard James Gunn saying he
- 1:49:05Speaker 2: can't wait to work with Hemsworth. Who the hell knows
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: at this point? I mean, Gunn is directing and all that,
- 1:49:11Speaker 2: and it is still his original script. It just makes
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: me wonder if him and Feige and the Russo brothers
- 1:49:16Speaker 2: got together enough to be like, okay, you're going to
- 1:49:18Speaker 2: have Thor by this point.
- 1:49:19Speaker 6: I mean, if he's the one main.
- 1:49:21Speaker 8: I guess Hulk is still around, technically, but I don't
- 1:49:23Speaker 8: know that we're doing anything with him.
- 1:49:25Speaker 2: So, yeah, like... That's what I think is funny, too,
- 1:49:28Speaker 2: is we had, like, they.
- 1:49:30Speaker 8: Were just so not using him for so long, and then, like,
- 1:49:34Speaker 8: Thor 3 comes along, and they're.
- 1:49:36Speaker 2: Like, oh, this dude is funny.
- 1:49:38Speaker 8: Like, so, again, that's why he can play this clown
- 1:49:41Speaker 8: that he is the whole movie, but you also, like, well,
- 1:49:43Speaker 8: now that we've seen him in 3 and this, obviously
- 1:49:46Speaker 8: he could very easily just exist in nothing but the
- 1:49:49Speaker 8: Guardians galaxy from here on out. So, it's like, yeah,
- 1:49:53Speaker 8: that would be a perfect little... handoff.
- 1:49:55Speaker 7: Really yeah at the end they're like doing the whole
- 1:49:59Speaker 7: like i'm in charge of course just like his again
- 1:50:03Speaker 7: the face acting of just like he's just looking at
- 1:50:06Speaker 7: him like normal but you can see in his eyes what.
- 1:50:09Speaker 6: He means i am great that's what.
- 1:50:14Speaker 2: So i wondered is gamora with him I don't think
- 1:50:17Speaker 2: they showed her on the ship, but so is old
- 1:50:19Speaker 2: school Gamora? That's what I said last time I read.
- 1:50:22Speaker 8: They're going to make her more of a focus.
- 1:50:24Speaker 2: I guess if current Gamora.
- 1:50:27Speaker 8: Catches up with them, the fact that they're arguing that
- 1:50:31Speaker 8: she's going to become the captain. She's going to be
- 1:50:34Speaker 8: more of the driving force of the team, more so
- 1:50:36Speaker 8: than Star-Lord.
- 1:50:38Speaker 2: That, to me, will be interesting, too. Definitely reset the
- 1:50:41Speaker 2: relationship of nothing else. Back to the they're not sweet
- 1:50:43Speaker 2: on each other, which maybe they felt like they did
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: that too quick. Maybe they're like, we need to dial
- 1:50:48Speaker 2: them back so they can be snarkier because they were,
- 1:50:51Speaker 2: because that second movie was all family. It was just like,
- 1:50:54Speaker 2: we are all family. We're all, it's great. So maybe
- 1:50:57Speaker 2: they wanted more. Some more bickering.
- 1:51:00Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:51:04Speaker 6: Is there anything else we haven't?
- 1:51:06Speaker 2: I don't know. Like I said, I could gush for hours.
- 1:51:10Speaker 2: I'm just trying to think of practical things, not, oh
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: my God, that one part.
- 1:51:13Speaker 7: And not just geeking out.
- 1:51:14Speaker 2: Oh my God, that one part.
- 1:51:15Speaker 8: Like, Well, I mean, the main ones of the end
- 1:51:17Speaker 8: there that really we do have to address is that
- 1:51:21Speaker 8: not only we finally actually get Avengers Assemble, not even
- 1:51:25Speaker 8: the cheat that we got before, but it was that much.
- 1:51:28Speaker 8: I didn't even think about it as he said it,
- 1:51:29Speaker 8: but I was like, oh, shit, we've been building this for.
- 1:51:32Speaker 2: A long time. I was waiting for it. There was
- 1:51:34Speaker 2: a movie that ended where he was about to say it.
- 1:51:37Speaker 8: It was Ultron, wasn't it? Because he goes, Avengers, and
- 1:51:39Speaker 8: it cuts to black. But it was.
- 1:51:42Speaker 7: Just like, he's like, Avengers, and then he's like, like
- 1:51:46Speaker 7: the quietest no one can hear your ass.
- 1:51:50Speaker 2: Even he knew it was bad that that two panel
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: shot again that they've done in like every movie but
- 1:51:58Speaker 2: after he says that and they do that slow-mo game
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: where just before they hit it's just you can almost
- 1:52:03Speaker 2: see every hero on the left and all these villains
- 1:52:05Speaker 2: on the right just the way they tried to do
- 1:52:07Speaker 2: those two panel moments from the comic it is amazing
- 1:52:10Speaker 2: and it's crazy like I remember when civil war happened,
- 1:52:13Speaker 2: the airport fight happened. They said that was practice for this.
- 1:52:17Speaker 2: They were like, we know we got to do some
- 1:52:19Speaker 2: big crazy shit later. And we wanted to take a
- 1:52:21Speaker 2: shot at it. And he was like, Oh my God,
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: that made that look like, that's what I was thinking.
- 1:52:26Speaker 8: I was just like, that's what annoyed me about the
- 1:52:29Speaker 8: airport fight is it's fun, but there are no stakes.
- 1:52:32Speaker 2: It's kind of bullshit. This is all of them really fight.
- 1:52:35Speaker 2: Like this is what we really did want the whole time.
- 1:52:37Speaker 2: And that was like a tease of like, Wouldn't it
- 1:52:40Speaker 2: be cool?
- 1:52:40Speaker 6: But then I really like nobody's really trying to fight
- 1:52:43Speaker 6: other than Black Panther.
- 1:52:44Speaker 2: Like nobody else cares about this. They're just going through
- 1:52:47Speaker 2: the motions and trying not to hurt each other.
- 1:52:49Speaker 8: But like this was a real fight with everybody. So, yeah,
- 1:52:53Speaker 8: that moment I was just like, yeah, airport, nothing like this.
- 1:52:56Speaker 8: This is where it really got us to, was a
- 1:52:58Speaker 8: real fight.
- 1:52:58Speaker 7: In Ant-Man and the Wasp, did they make the suit
- 1:53:02Speaker 7: better to where he doesn't get super tired after five
- 1:53:05Speaker 7: seconds of being huge? Because I felt like he was
- 1:53:08Speaker 7: huge for a long time.
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: He's just built up stamina now. He's done it every movie,
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: so like.
- 1:53:15Speaker 8: Because he's pretty big, a lot of Ant-Man and the
- 1:53:17Speaker 8: Wasp towards the end there.
- 1:53:18Speaker 2: So I'm like, maybe he's just slowly getting used to it.
- 1:53:21Speaker 2: I only watched that one once. I did too.
- 1:53:23Speaker 8: But the more I thought about it, I was like, yeah,
- 1:53:24Speaker 8: the whole finale of him chasing the car, he's big
- 1:53:27Speaker 8: pretty much the whole time.
- 1:53:29Speaker 7: He just worked up some stamina.
- 1:53:31Speaker 2: It was funny with the sandwich, though. He did go
- 1:53:33Speaker 2: for the sandwich kind of unabashedly. I don't know.
- 1:53:38Speaker 8: He's just, again, he's the one that I'm not. dedicated
- 1:53:43Speaker 8: to so much all the rest of this but like
- 1:53:45Speaker 8: he was so instrumental in this he was in this
- 1:53:47Speaker 8: one a lot and so yeah and seemed like a
- 1:53:49Speaker 8: good again like he worked within the team more than
- 1:53:52Speaker 8: i expected because we never it's like that guy that
- 1:53:55Speaker 8: time in the airport like he's still like not really
- 1:53:57Speaker 8: part of the team i.
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: Think you kind of forget him and stark hate each
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: other yeah like they really don't like each other it
- 1:54:03Speaker 2: was interesting because like i saw part of the um
- 1:54:06Speaker 2: i see people that were trying to argue about things
- 1:54:09Speaker 2: going on and they were saying like well why didn't
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: stark Just make the time machine before. He's so smart
- 1:54:13Speaker 2: and all this. Why does someone else have to go, hey,
- 1:54:16Speaker 2: let's do time machines? He's a genius. He would have
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: thought of that. It's because him and Pym never worked together.
- 1:54:21Speaker 2: Pym has this whole other type of technology that Stark
- 1:54:25Speaker 2: doesn't and vice versa. And so for Ant-Man and Stark
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: to come together, that's when together they could combine nanotechnology
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: with Stark technology and do all these things. So I just, again,
- 1:54:36Speaker 2: it was interesting seeing Ant-Man finally feel like, A player. Like,
- 1:54:40Speaker 2: he was on the level. Finally acknowledge he might not
- 1:54:43Speaker 2: necessarily be a genius, but the technology he's working with
- 1:54:47Speaker 2: and stuff is, you know, stuff that even Stark can't do.
- 1:54:50Speaker 8: But he did feel like part of the team and
- 1:54:52Speaker 8: a functional part. Like, him trying to, you know, save
- 1:54:54Speaker 8: everybody when they're getting crushed there. It's like, he still, like,
- 1:54:58Speaker 8: knows that, you know, people are depending on him even
- 1:55:00Speaker 8: if he's still kind of in need.
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: His motion with his daughter was... I mean, right out
- 1:55:04Speaker 2: the gate that was emotional.
- 1:55:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:55:06Speaker 2: You know, her answering the door and stuff. And again, seeing...
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: it just puts it on perspective.
- 1:55:11Speaker 8: Like it really like seeing all these dead people in
- 1:55:13Speaker 8: these monuments and then knowing that like, he's, he's looking for,
- 1:55:17Speaker 8: you know, the one person he cared about.
- 1:55:19Speaker 6: So like the fact that she didn't die and that
- 1:55:22Speaker 6: now she, but that's so weird that like now you've
- 1:55:24Speaker 6: missed five years of your kid growing up too.
- 1:55:26Speaker 2: Like that's, and that's not, again, that didn't get fixed.
- 1:55:29Speaker 2: Like he's just, and that was some of the sweetest
- 1:55:30Speaker 2: parts of his movies. Like him interacting with his daughter
- 1:55:33Speaker 2: in the movies are really cute.
- 1:55:35Speaker 8: Yeah moments with him because yeah I feel like he
- 1:55:38Speaker 8: doesn't have much to do because he's not the genius
- 1:55:40Speaker 8: so he doesn't have much to do in the science
- 1:55:42Speaker 8: end of it but the dad stuff is great like
- 1:55:44Speaker 8: he really does pull that off because again that is
- 1:55:47Speaker 8: his wheelhouse in every other you know comedy like he
- 1:55:51Speaker 8: does do like I'm kind of goofy but I have
- 1:55:53Speaker 8: a heart kind of thing that works really well in
- 1:55:56Speaker 8: those scenes so yeah it is kind of good to
- 1:55:58Speaker 8: see him feel like part of.
- 1:55:59Speaker 6: The team finally but yeah.
- 1:56:02Speaker 8: The I don't know to me the big rounding it
- 1:56:05Speaker 8: out if of all these things, if we're going to
- 1:56:09Speaker 8: have one big send off and one person to take
- 1:56:11Speaker 8: care of it all, it's, you know, Tony snapping is like,
- 1:56:15Speaker 8: you brought this whole thing together. It all came from
- 1:56:18Speaker 8: Iron Man and Tony Stark and Robert Downey Jr.
- 1:56:22Speaker 2: So like to have it.
- 1:56:23Speaker 6: You know, again, like them just perfectly balancing everything and
- 1:56:27Speaker 6: just like, okay. And you're going to be the one
- 1:56:28Speaker 6: to bring it all to an end, at.
- 1:56:30Speaker 2: Least this chapter, but especially of, of his character. Like,
- 1:56:34Speaker 2: this is it.
- 1:56:34Speaker 6: This is how you're going to go out.
- 1:56:36Speaker 8: Fixing what needed to be fixed, taking care of the
- 1:56:38Speaker 8: problem and taking out Thanos, like everything, just all of
- 1:56:42Speaker 8: it is you.
- 1:56:43Speaker 2: And I have no problem with that. Cause again, he,
- 1:56:46Speaker 2: he built so much of what this, this whole franchise became.
- 1:56:50Speaker 2: I don't know. That was just that, that needed to
- 1:56:52Speaker 2: be there. Like, had it been somebody else, it, I
- 1:56:55Speaker 2: don't know. It would have seemed wrong. Maybe Captain America.
- 1:56:57Speaker 2: It would have had to be one of the two.
- 1:56:58Speaker 2: But even then... They're really the only two that could
- 1:57:00Speaker 2: have did that.
- 1:57:01Speaker 8: Captain America wouldn't have felt out of character, but it
- 1:57:04Speaker 8: would have felt a little wrong in the arc of
- 1:57:06Speaker 8: the stories.
- 1:57:08Speaker 6: So yeah, I felt like it needed to be Tony.
- 1:57:11Speaker 2: I felt like it was extra heavy because he was
- 1:57:16Speaker 2: so messed up. He couldn't speak.
- 1:57:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:57:19Speaker 2: And I felt... I don't know. That hit me kind
- 1:57:22Speaker 2: of twice as hard because that's his thing. He's just constantly...
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: pretending he doesn't feel shit and just like just running
- 1:57:28Speaker 2: his mouth and he was so messed up that he
- 1:57:30Speaker 2: was just in that dazed state and to me that
- 1:57:33Speaker 2: made it like just so much harder with Peter trying
- 1:57:36Speaker 2: to like it's like everyone's just trying to convey to
- 1:57:38Speaker 2: him like you did it you know it's almost like
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: they're all just like oh my god he's so out
- 1:57:42Speaker 2: of it he might not even know what he's done
- 1:57:45Speaker 2: and they're just like you did it you did it
- 1:57:47Speaker 2: and they're just trying to get him to know that
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: before he dies fucking beautiful and Pepper giving him the
- 1:57:53Speaker 2: whole it's okay you can rest now Just glorious. Well, again,
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: they built that from the very beginning.
- 1:58:00Speaker 6: Because I assumed Pepper would have the more normal response
- 1:58:04Speaker 6: of like, no, don't go do this.
- 1:58:07Speaker 2: Even when he came back from space, it wasn't like
- 1:58:08Speaker 2: she tackled him. You could tell she was on his
- 1:58:10Speaker 2: level emotionally. She was kind of dealing with shit. Even
- 1:58:14Speaker 2: with his dad. When he had the final moments with
- 1:58:16Speaker 2: his dad, I don't think he outright said, I love you.
- 1:58:19Speaker 2: Because he makes a mention in a previous movie about
- 1:58:22Speaker 2: not getting to say I love you to his dad.
- 1:58:24Speaker 2: And he doesn't. But he does things like, I used
- 1:58:27Speaker 2: to think my dad was an asshole until I became
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: a dad. It's like he's saying the things that basically
- 1:58:32Speaker 2: convey I love you in that Tony Stark way. He's
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: not outwardly soft like that. So I felt like Pepper...
- 1:58:41Speaker 2: Seems maybe indifferent, but it compliments him. That's how he
- 1:58:45Speaker 2: does emotion. I think you'd have to be like that
- 1:58:48Speaker 2: to live with him all these years. Like, you'd have
- 1:58:50Speaker 2: to know how to work with him the way Tony works.
- 1:58:51Speaker 2: I mean, you look back, all their interactions are snarks.
- 1:58:53Speaker 2: You know, they're all just, you know, it's just snipping
- 1:58:56Speaker 2: at each other. But, like I said, in that moment,
- 1:58:58Speaker 2: even though there was a part of me that was like,
- 1:59:00Speaker 2: when Pepper... got in frame and Peter was still talking like, Peter,
- 1:59:04Speaker 2: you got to fucking go. Like she needs to be
- 1:59:07Speaker 2: talking to him right now. You need to get out
- 1:59:10Speaker 2: of pictures. But it was, it was fantastic. And like
- 1:59:13Speaker 2: I said, I think, I think it could have been
- 1:59:16Speaker 2: fine if he spoke, but I think it had more
- 1:59:18Speaker 2: weight with him being unable to even do a snark.
- 1:59:21Speaker 2: It was like, Your lips sealed. You have to just
- 1:59:24Speaker 2: feel this emotional moment right now and let people be
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: emotional with you.
- 1:59:28Speaker 8: Again, we had that reverse moment of we watched Tony
- 1:59:33Speaker 8: dealing with Peter dying right there in his arms, and
- 1:59:36Speaker 8: we get the opposite. We get Peter being there for him.
- 1:59:40Speaker 2: As he's dying.
- 1:59:41Speaker 3: The hug.
- 1:59:41Speaker 2: Again, with his growth. The fact that the first time
- 1:59:43Speaker 2: he sees Peter in the middle of all, just hugs
- 1:59:46Speaker 2: the kid. You go back to his trilogy. He don't
- 1:59:50Speaker 2: do that. Even the third movie is like, get away
- 1:59:52Speaker 2: from me, kid. You know, he's just like, yeah, I
- 1:59:54Speaker 2: don't want anything to do. It wasn't until the third movie,
- 1:59:55Speaker 2: which I thought it was cool. They kept that kid
- 1:59:57Speaker 2: at his funeral. Yeah, he's at the funeral. Acknowledging it
- 1:59:59Speaker 2: was children that changed him. It was finally processing the
- 2:00:03Speaker 2: next generation that like finally like, you know. Yeah, which
- 2:00:08Speaker 2: with a lot of.
- 2:00:08Speaker 8: People, like it does change them. Like you will see
- 2:00:11Speaker 8: somebody who's been selfish their whole life. And as soon
- 2:00:14Speaker 8: as they have a kid, like they're kind of a
- 2:00:16Speaker 8: different person.
- 2:00:17Speaker 2: Like it really does.
- 2:00:19Speaker 6: It does happen that way.
- 2:00:22Speaker 7: Oh, Lord.
- 2:00:23Speaker 6: So, yeah, I don't know. I was exhausted and doing
- 2:00:29Speaker 6: nothing but processing.
- 2:00:30Speaker 2: It didn't feel like three hours to me. Either time,
- 2:00:32Speaker 2: both times, it hasn't felt like. Yeah, I was surprised
- 2:00:33Speaker 2: I made it through as easily as I did. And
- 2:00:36Speaker 2: as I said, I wanted more. I was like, no, no,
- 2:00:38Speaker 2: let's go see these time traveling parts. Let's go.
- 2:00:41Speaker 7: I didn't get a drink. I didn't have a drink
- 2:00:43Speaker 7: from the movie because I was like, nope, not today.
- 2:00:45Speaker 2: I got a six o'clock. And once noon hit that day,
- 2:00:50Speaker 2: no food or drink. I was like, I'm fasting so
- 2:00:54Speaker 2: that I won't have to go to the bathroom tonight. Like, legit.
- 2:00:57Speaker 2: I made it. I was like, I'm not leaving. Because
- 2:00:59Speaker 2: I heard there's no slow parts. And there really isn't.
- 2:01:01Speaker 2: There really isn't.
- 2:01:02Speaker 6: I mean, they're all necessary. I mean, you can call
- 2:01:03Speaker 6: things slow.
- 2:01:03Speaker 2: But if you care, you're missing fantastic exchanges.
- 2:01:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:01:09Speaker 2: I can't wait to watch them back to back. I'm
- 2:01:10Speaker 2: already like, when that comes out, there will be a five,
- 2:01:13Speaker 2: six hour all in one thing. As a matter of fact,
- 2:01:16Speaker 2: I would love if they were- Man. See, I did
- 2:01:19Speaker 2: it with the Lord of the Rings director's cut. I
- 2:01:21Speaker 2: had a 12-hour run one day where I watched all
- 2:01:23Speaker 2: those in one run. I can do that shit.
- 2:01:24Speaker 7: My brother did that with his friend, and apparently they made, like,
- 2:01:27Speaker 7: for their meals, they just made, like, all the Lord
- 2:01:29Speaker 7: of the Rings, like, food and drink, like, all the
- 2:01:31Speaker 7: mead and all that stuff that they made.
- 2:01:34Speaker 2: Biting the leg of some sort of animal.
- 2:01:36Speaker 7: I can make shawarma for the Avengers.
- 2:01:38Speaker 2: That would be awesome.
- 2:01:39Speaker 3: Yes.
- 2:01:39Speaker 2: That's what we need.
- 2:01:40Speaker 6: All right.
- 2:01:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I would totally be down for, like, a foodie
- 2:01:44Speaker 2: Eternity War.
- 2:01:46Speaker 4: It's happening.
- 2:01:48Speaker 2: Endgame Infinity War montage. No, yeah, I already can't wait.
- 2:01:52Speaker 2: And like I said, I've already in my head like
- 2:01:54Speaker 2: thinking about it. I feel like it's totally going to work.
- 2:01:57Speaker 2: Like I feel like characters that were heavy in the
- 2:01:59Speaker 2: first one were light in this one and vice versa.
- 2:02:01Speaker 2: I think when you watch them all together, it's going
- 2:02:03Speaker 2: to feel balanced of all words. Just like Thanos intended. I'm,
- 2:02:11Speaker 2: I don't know. I just, I'm so amazed that it happened.
- 2:02:17Speaker 2: Like I feel like it's, Again, it might not be relevant,
- 2:02:21Speaker 2: but anytime there's been books that I loved and it's
- 2:02:25Speaker 2: went to TV or movies and I'm just like, and
- 2:02:28Speaker 2: I try to convey, it's like, yes, it was good,
- 2:02:29Speaker 2: but you don't get the weight that you get from
- 2:02:33Speaker 2: the book because it takes you 10, 20, 30 hours
- 2:02:35Speaker 2: to do the book. And I feel like maybe this
- 2:02:37Speaker 2: is the world's first, maybe if you're not a book reader,
- 2:02:41Speaker 2: maybe this is the first time for you you've been
- 2:02:44Speaker 2: tricked through movies to invest in a character for so
- 2:02:48Speaker 2: long that now when the third act happens, now you
- 2:02:52Speaker 2: feel the weight that I think book readers feel from Finn.
- 2:02:55Speaker 2: It was, when I get to the last chapter of
- 2:02:57Speaker 2: a good book, I'm anxious and nervous and sad and
- 2:03:01Speaker 2: just because I'm at the end. And I think that's
- 2:03:03Speaker 2: maybe what kind of best describes my first time watching this.
- 2:03:06Speaker 2: It's like, it wasn't that anything in the movie was,
- 2:03:10Speaker 2: was bad or anything, but just, the overall weight of
- 2:03:12Speaker 2: knowing this is the end of this huge story was
- 2:03:15Speaker 2: just like, I could feel that weight, you know, like
- 2:03:18Speaker 2: reading the last chapter of a book. I felt a
- 2:03:20Speaker 2: bit like the last Deathly Hallows movie to me at first,
- 2:03:24Speaker 2: because once they set that they had to get all
- 2:03:26Speaker 2: these stones before they could fight them, even though literally
- 2:03:30Speaker 2: it felt like Back to the Future, I felt how
- 2:03:32Speaker 2: I did the first time seeing the movie version of
- 2:03:34Speaker 2: the second Deathly Hallows, because I'm like, Well, they're going
- 2:03:37Speaker 2: to get all these things before the end happens. And
- 2:03:39Speaker 2: in a way that felt like a hump, it was like,
- 2:03:41Speaker 2: all right, well, let's get all the stones so we
- 2:03:43Speaker 2: can get back to the ending. And I feel like
- 2:03:46Speaker 2: they did the time travel thing in a fluid way
- 2:03:48Speaker 2: where it didn't feel like a hump. I was like, oh,
- 2:03:50Speaker 2: we did it. It was just as entertaining as everything else.
- 2:03:53Speaker 2: I thought that was going to become most of the movie.
- 2:03:55Speaker 2: I was like, man, I don't know if I'm going
- 2:03:56Speaker 2: to be into waiting for you guys to get all
- 2:03:58Speaker 2: these stones, but it It didn't happen like that, but
- 2:04:01Speaker 2: it happened pretty quick. I was like, all right, you know,
- 2:04:03Speaker 2: half an hour and we got the stones back.
- 2:04:04Speaker 7: We're good.
- 2:04:05Speaker 8: I like that it didn't happen simply. Like I like
- 2:04:08Speaker 8: that they had all these things that they weren't expecting
- 2:04:10Speaker 8: and plans kept going wrong. And yet it, they, you
- 2:04:14Speaker 8: see them again, just sort of thinking on their feet
- 2:04:16Speaker 8: and like, all right, how do we make this work now?
- 2:04:17Speaker 8: Like they still, it wasn't a set plan. It was
- 2:04:21Speaker 8: working because they figured out how to do it.
- 2:04:24Speaker 2: Like, again, it was them. Always kind of thinking on
- 2:04:26Speaker 2: their feet. And you're like, okay, well, now what do
- 2:04:28Speaker 2: we do?
- 2:04:28Speaker 6: Like, how do we fix this now? Like, everything kept
- 2:04:30Speaker 6: getting screwed up.
- 2:04:31Speaker 2: And it's like, all right, what do we need to
- 2:04:33Speaker 2: do now?
- 2:04:34Speaker 8: So, like, the fact that all of that comes into play,
- 2:04:36Speaker 8: I think, is part of what makes it so entertaining.
- 2:04:41Speaker 2: I mean, I don't even understand how Spider-Man is a
- 2:04:44Speaker 2: part of this still. Like, I don't understand why they
- 2:04:46Speaker 2: were just like, that's the next phase. It is weird
- 2:04:48Speaker 2: that they... Like, what can be left to wrap up?
- 2:04:50Speaker 8: Yeah, I was like, no, no, this is the end. Like,
- 2:04:53Speaker 8: this is the end of this chapter anyway. It's like,
- 2:04:57Speaker 8: there's going to be more stuff. But yeah, it's weird
- 2:05:00Speaker 8: that they're trying to do that in the same year
- 2:05:02Speaker 8: and in the same, you know, little subsection of.
- 2:05:05Speaker 10: Whatever this is.
- 2:05:06Speaker 7: But it makes me that much more excited to see, like,
- 2:05:08Speaker 7: because they know that it's capping this off.
- 2:05:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:05:11Speaker 7: So there's, I mean, and there's going to be Adam...
- 2:05:14Speaker 7: Like Adam Warlock.
- 2:05:15Speaker 8: Like, and it's just like, I just want to see
- 2:05:17Speaker 8: the world building now because we didn't really have time
- 2:05:21Speaker 8: to look around much.
- 2:05:22Speaker 6: So like, I feel like Spider-Man is going to be
- 2:05:24Speaker 6: so set in.
- 2:05:25Speaker 2: The regular world. It's going to be the epilogue. We're
- 2:05:27Speaker 2: going to see.
- 2:05:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:05:28Speaker 6: We're going to see like, since we don't get a
- 2:05:30Speaker 6: post-credit scene, by the way.
- 2:05:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:05:32Speaker 2: That's a, I kind of liked it.
- 2:05:34Speaker 6: Like, I think everybody else was upset.
- 2:05:36Speaker 2: But you got the sound bite. We got that, which was, again,
- 2:05:39Speaker 2: that was a nice little tribute too.
- 2:05:41Speaker 6: What was the sound bite?
- 2:05:43Speaker 7: I knew that there wasn't a trailer, so I left.
- 2:05:44Speaker 2: You hear the hammer clanging from when he was making
- 2:05:47Speaker 2: the first Iron Man.
- 2:05:48Speaker 6: So again, it's Iron Man bookending it all. So I'm like,
- 2:05:51Speaker 6: that's nice.
- 2:05:52Speaker 2: Some people theorize that that means he's not gone at all.
- 2:05:56Speaker 2: Whether it's its daughter, someone else is going to pick
- 2:05:58Speaker 2: up the mantle. But I just took it as, again,
- 2:06:00Speaker 2: that this feels like a bookend. This is the bookend, yeah.
- 2:06:01Speaker 2: It's like, you know, he's the one that died doing this. Like, no,
- 2:06:05Speaker 2: that's him. That's just referencing, you know.
- 2:06:08Speaker 6: But I did already think about that of like, okay,
- 2:06:10Speaker 6: when we get a couple years ahead, when we get
- 2:06:12Speaker 6: like a teenage Iron Man girl.
- 2:06:14Speaker 2: In the comic, there is... Like, that's going to be badass.
- 2:06:16Speaker 2: The comic killed him not that long ago, I don't think.
- 2:06:20Speaker 2: I think this is still kind of newish stuff. And they... Someone...
- 2:06:26Speaker 2: turn stark into an ai and then they like they
- 2:06:30Speaker 2: put him in a suit so it's like the iron
- 2:06:31Speaker 2: man suit but it has a holographic head of stark
- 2:06:34Speaker 2: and it's somehow i don't know i don't know if
- 2:06:36Speaker 2: it's something like jarvis deconstructs him like maybe he's dealt
- 2:06:40Speaker 2: with stark so much somehow jarvis reconstructs him kind of
- 2:06:43Speaker 2: like westworld but it's something like that where like you
- 2:06:46Speaker 2: know he makes i don't know i forget what it
- 2:06:49Speaker 2: is in a comic in a comic there's a hologram
- 2:06:51Speaker 2: stark in an iron suit so i mean they could
- 2:06:54Speaker 2: they can still do stuff like that to get cameos
- 2:06:56Speaker 2: out of him yeah but i'd have no problem with
- 2:06:59Speaker 2: black panther's little sister or morgan yeah i would love
- 2:07:02Speaker 2: to see both of those i think i would rather
- 2:07:04Speaker 2: see black panther's sister.
- 2:07:06Speaker 8: I mean she's she's already shown that she could step
- 2:07:08Speaker 8: right in and be no problem.
- 2:07:09Speaker 2: Plus how cool would it be for like her and
- 2:07:11Speaker 2: peter parker to do a mission together there's so many
- 2:07:14Speaker 2: there's so many fun pairings they could play on like
- 2:07:17Speaker 2: when Hulk was talking to the ancient one, I was like,
- 2:07:20Speaker 2: I didn't know I wanted this, but Banner like talking
- 2:07:22Speaker 2: to her, I was like, this is so cool. Like
- 2:07:24Speaker 2: you two science and mystic, like having this argument, like
- 2:07:27Speaker 2: there was so many things. And I was like, I
- 2:07:30Speaker 2: didn't know I wanted these kind of like pairings up.
- 2:07:33Speaker 2: And it's like, now that everyone is kind of on
- 2:07:34Speaker 2: the same page, man, you could have so much fun
- 2:07:38Speaker 2: with some teams, like so much fun.
- 2:07:40Speaker 6: Which they already have, but now we have so many
- 2:07:43Speaker 6: new options that have opened up since then.
- 2:07:44Speaker 2: Now that everyone knows each other, you know, like before
- 2:07:46Speaker 2: everyone was still kind of, they networked. There was, everyone
- 2:07:50Speaker 2: was two, three degrees, but now everyone's one degree. Like
- 2:07:52Speaker 2: everyone knows everybody now. So now you could do whatever
- 2:07:56Speaker 2: you want, man. You could have so much fun.
- 2:07:59Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 2:07:59Speaker 6: And it will be interesting to see what.
- 2:08:02Speaker 8: Again, we're going to get, I guess, a little piece
- 2:08:04Speaker 8: of it as we get, you know, because we know
- 2:08:06Speaker 8: Fury's back.
- 2:08:07Speaker 6: So, like, what becomes of.
- 2:08:11Speaker 2: The Avengers that were the Avengers aren't there. Like, is
- 2:08:13Speaker 2: there a new S.H.I.E.L.D.
- 2:08:14Speaker 3: Now?
- 2:08:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I wonder if there's a new S.H.I.E.L.D. per se.
- 2:08:18Speaker 2: Just heroes?
- 2:08:18Speaker 8: What network takes over to run everything? And how is
- 2:08:23Speaker 8: Fury involved in dealing with it? And how does it
- 2:08:26Speaker 8: tie into this new broken world? So all of these things,
- 2:08:29Speaker 8: I think that's all going to be kind of interesting
- 2:08:31Speaker 8: looking ahead to.
- 2:08:34Speaker 2: And just knowing... That they have the rights to Fantastic Four, X-Men,
- 2:08:39Speaker 2: all that stuff now. I'm just like, you guys, just
- 2:08:42Speaker 2: take your time. Do another 10, 12 years. Don't rush.
- 2:08:46Speaker 2: Take your time and do it.
- 2:08:47Speaker 8: Because I'd be fine if they kept it separate. I
- 2:08:50Speaker 8: think they've built such an amazing, interesting universe with what
- 2:08:54Speaker 8: they have.
- 2:08:56Speaker 6: That I'm like, is that really going to.
- 2:08:57Speaker 2: There's so many characters coming in from there. I'm like,
- 2:09:00Speaker 2: is that really going to muck it up? The Guardians...
- 2:09:03Speaker 2: You said it, well, we said this a long time ago,
- 2:09:05Speaker 2: but the Guardians could easily run into Fantastic Four stuff
- 2:09:08Speaker 2: out there. You can do Demon Galactus stuff with them.
- 2:09:11Speaker 6: Which, again, they were such an offshoot, I'd be fine
- 2:09:13Speaker 6: with taking them further away from what we've built and, like,
- 2:09:17Speaker 6: having side, they have their.
- 2:09:18Speaker 2: Own missions anyway, but if they wanted to. But they
- 2:09:20Speaker 2: should be running into Marvel now and stuff. Like, they
- 2:09:22Speaker 2: should occasionally run into Captain Marvel. Like, you need to, like,
- 2:09:25Speaker 2: kind of, you know, get these environments together. Expanding, yeah.
- 2:09:28Speaker 2: All right.
- 2:09:32Speaker 6: Do we think we've, Worked our way through this.
- 2:09:36Speaker 2: I can keep gushing.
- 2:09:37Speaker 8: The therapy session that this has led to. Because that's
- 2:09:40Speaker 8: kind of what it needed at the end.
- 2:09:42Speaker 7: I mean, it won't be too long until we see
- 2:09:44Speaker 7: each other again.
- 2:09:45Speaker 6: Oh, it's Spider-Man.
- 2:09:46Speaker 2: Spider-Man. All right. I think when I looked up confirmed movies,
- 2:09:52Speaker 2: there's a confirmed Black Panther, confirmed Doctor Who. Obviously, to Spider-Man,
- 2:09:56Speaker 2: it's about to happen. And that they're talking about there's
- 2:09:59Speaker 2: definitely going to be a Black Widow.
- 2:10:01Speaker 7: You mean Doctor Strange?
- 2:10:01Speaker 2: And a Guardians 3. There is a Doctor Strange, Black Panther,
- 2:10:05Speaker 2: this Spider-Man, Black Widow, and a Guardians. I think those
- 2:10:09Speaker 2: are the ones that are definitely happening movie-wise. I don't know.
- 2:10:15Speaker 2: I just felt like saying it for some reason. I
- 2:10:17Speaker 2: guess that's the new Avengers now, right? Spider-Man, Black Panther,
- 2:10:21Speaker 2: Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Falcon. That's great.
- 2:10:24Speaker 7: You know, you have all these people that we haven't
- 2:10:27Speaker 7: seen all that much of.
- 2:10:28Speaker 2: And they carry so much weight with them now. Like
- 2:10:31Speaker 2: they have this legacy that they bring with them now
- 2:10:34Speaker 2: and stuff. And the fact that, you know, some of
- 2:10:36Speaker 2: these old characters are still going to be able to
- 2:10:37Speaker 2: cameo and stuff like they've done it, man. They've, they've
- 2:10:40Speaker 2: recreated what I think comic book readers feel reading comics
- 2:10:44Speaker 2: in the movie world. We have so many old stories
- 2:10:47Speaker 2: that go on so many things for years and years
- 2:10:49Speaker 2: and years that, feel like family to us. I think
- 2:10:52Speaker 2: nowadays movies have made it long enough that it's happening
- 2:10:54Speaker 2: on a global scale. I think it was Kevin Smith
- 2:10:56Speaker 2: that was making some, some, um, comment about how, you know,
- 2:11:01Speaker 2: if something's on TV, you know, it feels like part
- 2:11:03Speaker 2: of the family because people just watch so much TV,
- 2:11:07Speaker 2: you know, like big bang theory, my might as well
- 2:11:09Speaker 2: be my grandparents, like family, like, you know, just people
- 2:11:12Speaker 2: watch these things so much, you know, becomes part of family.
- 2:11:15Speaker 2: They've been successful in the movies for so long now.
- 2:11:18Speaker 2: It's kind of, the same way like television is in
- 2:11:22Speaker 2: your house all the time.
- 2:11:22Speaker 6: Like people and you've logged in that much time it's.
- 2:11:25Speaker 2: This legacy now of stories that god forbid you f
- 2:11:29Speaker 2: this up you know i mean you think people are
- 2:11:31Speaker 2: getting mad about six seven movies of star wars if
- 2:11:35Speaker 2: something terrible happens going forward in the marvel universe you're
- 2:11:39Speaker 2: talking about people will like pitchforks and torches i mean
- 2:11:43Speaker 2: they have a lot of responsibility now not to get
- 2:11:45Speaker 2: all spider-man but like you gotta You got to appreciate
- 2:11:48Speaker 2: it now because you really do have everyone emotionally involved.
- 2:11:51Speaker 2: And that's why people can flip out when they make
- 2:11:53Speaker 2: Captain America Hydra. Because you've liked him so long, you're like, what?
- 2:11:59Speaker 2: So I feel like the whole world's on the same
- 2:12:02Speaker 2: page now, what comic book readers are about. At least
- 2:12:04Speaker 2: the people that are into these movies. It's not just
- 2:12:08Speaker 2: a story. It becomes more. And these people give you
- 2:12:13Speaker 2: real world emotional... reactions and experiences you might not have
- 2:12:17Speaker 2: had otherwise well.
- 2:12:18Speaker 8: And we've always talked about on this show of like
- 2:12:21Speaker 8: the constantly changing media in these last 10-15 years and
- 2:12:25Speaker 8: it's like this is another one of those almost because
- 2:12:28Speaker 8: we talked about like the running series that become these
- 2:12:31Speaker 8: big things but we've never in you know history had
- 2:12:34Speaker 8: seen like film that has taken on this big a
- 2:12:38Speaker 8: scope and this many characters and actors and like everything
- 2:12:42Speaker 8: kind of hitting this new level that I'm like I
- 2:12:45Speaker 8: I was thinking that after it.
- 2:12:46Speaker 2: Was done, too. I was like, will we continue on
- 2:12:49Speaker 2: this level?
- 2:12:50Speaker 6: Like, is it going to keep trying to be this big?
- 2:12:53Speaker 8: Or are they like, okay, we did it. And then
- 2:12:56Speaker 8: back to two characters in a movie. It's like, are
- 2:13:00Speaker 8: they going to try to keep upping it? Or is
- 2:13:02Speaker 8: it just like, this was an experiment.
- 2:13:05Speaker 3: It worked.
- 2:13:05Speaker 2: It's badass.
- 2:13:07Speaker 3: And.
- 2:13:08Speaker 2: let's.
- 2:13:09Speaker 8: Relax for a while now and do a little Spidey
- 2:13:12Speaker 8: and Black Panther combo and leave it at that.
- 2:13:14Speaker 2: You know, it's like, yeah, it.
- 2:13:15Speaker 8: Would be really, again, just to see where they're going
- 2:13:18Speaker 8: to go with this down the line too is.
- 2:13:20Speaker 2: Going to be interesting. So that's where we are.
- 2:13:27Speaker 6: Anything else to pass along?
- 2:13:28Speaker 2: We've survived.
- 2:13:29Speaker 7: I think that's it.
- 2:13:30Speaker 6: We all made it back from the snap. We're okay.
- 2:13:32Speaker 2: I'm sure I'll think of a dozen things once we stop.
- 2:13:36Speaker 2: I'm sure.
- 2:13:37Speaker 6: By the time Spider-Man rolls around, we'll be ready to discuss.
- 2:13:42Speaker 3: All right.
- 2:13:42Speaker 2: Otherwise, I think that about does it. We will return
- 2:13:45Speaker 2: next time. Same geek feed.
- 2:13:46Speaker 9: Thanks for listening.
- 2:14:13Speaker 2: Well, he said one thing before I graduate.
- 2:14:16Speaker 10: Never let your fear decide your fate.
- 2:14:19Speaker 2: I say you kill your heroes and fight, fight.
- 2:14:23Speaker 10: Baby, don't cry. No need to worry, cause everybody will die.
- 2:14:31Speaker 10: Every day you just go, go, baby, don't go. I
- 2:15:02Speaker 10: say you kill your demons and.
- 2:15:07Speaker 2: Fly, fly, baby don't cry No.
- 2:15:09Speaker 10: Need to worry cause everybody will die Everyday we just go, go,
- 2:15:15Speaker 10: baby don't go Don't you worry, we love you more
- 2:15:20Speaker 10: than you know No more train No more destination, no
- 2:15:35Speaker 10: more pain When he said one thing before I graduate.
- 2:15:38Speaker 2: Never let your fear.
- 2:15:40Speaker 10: Decide your fate I say you kill your demons and fly, die, baby,
- 2:15:47Speaker 10: die No need to worry cause everybody will die Every
- 2:15:52Speaker 10: day we just go, go, baby, we'll go. Don't you worry, love,
- 2:16:00Speaker 10: you've already known. I'll shake you to your heels and fly, fly, fly, baby,
- 2:16:07Speaker 10: we'll fly. Don't you worry, love, everybody will die. Every
- 2:16:12Speaker 10: day we just....
- 2:16:28Speaker 9: Feel like.
- 2:16:31Speaker 2: This is weird kind of random shit but I feel
- 2:16:33Speaker 2: like it was perfect that Endgame happened this week so
- 2:16:38Speaker 2: that like Game of Thrones wasn't quite as much of
- 2:16:41Speaker 2: a downer not that like anything really really happened but
- 2:16:44Speaker 2: I think coming out I watched it twice Endgame and
- 2:16:47Speaker 2: so like I was on such a high that I
- 2:16:50Speaker 2: was like Game of Thrones can't bring me down tonight
- 2:16:52Speaker 2: even if like all my best dies like that was
- 2:16:55Speaker 2: such a Uplifting experience. I felt like maybe I needed
- 2:16:58Speaker 2: that band-aid. Not that, again, not that it was really
- 2:17:01Speaker 2: that bad of an episode, but going into it, I
- 2:17:04Speaker 2: was like, God, even if they kill some of my
- 2:17:05Speaker 2: favorite people tonight, I think I'm going to be okay
- 2:17:07Speaker 2: because that game kind of was such an up for
- 2:17:11Speaker 2: the week.
