- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, my name is Justin Greenberg and this is
- 0:02Speaker 1: Film Reel. Last episode, I was talking with my buddy
- 0:06Speaker 1: Jonathan about fast food and we didn't talk about movies.
- 0:11Speaker 1: We eventually did get to talk about movies, but I
- 0:13Speaker 1: want to break it up into different segments. Something we're trying.
- 0:16Speaker 1: We're always trying new things here on the Film Reel.
- 0:19Speaker 1: But let's get right back into the conversation at hand.
- 0:24Speaker 1: That was a half an hour of talking about fast food.
- 0:26Speaker 1: But you know, we've talked about how we you know,
- 0:29Speaker 1: we like to eat our food while watching the movies,
- 0:31Speaker 1: So I might as well talk about some movies. And
- 0:34Speaker 1: I watched some new movies in theaters this past week,
- 0:37Speaker 1: and then Jonathan lent me a DVD of his that
- 0:42Speaker 1: I did end up watching yesterday for a movie called
- 0:45Speaker 1: Runaway Jerry. So why don't we get to that, and
- 0:48Speaker 1: then we'll get to the two movies that we did
- 0:50Speaker 1: see in theaters that we both saw. I've seen a bunch,
- 0:54Speaker 1: but these two I know we definitely both saw. So
- 0:56Speaker 1: Runaway Jerry I thought was a very very good movie.
- 0:59Speaker 1: The basic plot is there's a trial taking place because
- 1:03Speaker 1: a man was murdered by a gun and this woman
- 1:07Speaker 1: who's the widow is suing the gun company. And the
- 1:10Speaker 1: basic plot is there's two I guess law firms and
- 1:15Speaker 1: they are trying to figure out the jury selection and
- 1:18Speaker 1: trying to find the right people to get in the
- 1:20Speaker 1: jury selection. And there's controversy and issues going on with
- 1:25Speaker 1: the selection of people. And then John Cusack plays a
- 1:27Speaker 1: character that you're not really sure what his motivation is,
- 1:31Speaker 1: why does he want to be a part of this,
- 1:34Speaker 1: you know, jury, And eventually at the end we do
- 1:36Speaker 1: find out because there is a twist which was put
- 1:39Speaker 1: on the front of the freaking DVD. It is like
- 1:42Speaker 1: the greatest twist, a surprise twist ending I'm like, thank you,
- 1:46Speaker 1: thank you for ruining that because I'm just waiting for
- 1:49Speaker 1: the twist the entire time, which is I don't know
- 1:52Speaker 1: why the marketing for that was the way it was.
- 1:54Speaker 1: But you had a star started cast, as I mentioned
- 1:56Speaker 1: John Cusack, but you have two the best actors of
- 1:59Speaker 1: all time with Gene Hackman and Dustin Hoffman, and they
- 2:02Speaker 1: have a really good scene in the bathroom, which is
- 2:05Speaker 1: just top tier acting that you really don't get in
- 2:09Speaker 1: movies anymore. Sure don't do that.
- 2:11Speaker 2: This is about my witness.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Right, this is about you messing with my client, my case,
- 2:15Speaker 1: and the rules are law that govern our country, in
- 2:18Speaker 1: our country.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Yes, I didn't figure for a patriot, mister Rorr.
- 2:22Speaker 1: What we there?
- 2:22Speaker 2: Blatant disregard for the people's right to bear arms? You
- 2:25Speaker 2: know the Second Amendment? Is that why you're doing this?
- 2:27Speaker 2: Protect constitution?
- 2:28Speaker 1: Is that? Of course not.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I mean it to win, just like you are, because
- 2:32Speaker 2: that's what I was hired to do. Everything else is
- 2:35Speaker 2: colored bubbles.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Colored bubbles, colored bubbles.
- 2:38Speaker 2: A system of the calls for twelve people to.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Sit and listen to testimony of witnesses, fella, and that
- 2:44Speaker 1: includes my witness. The twist is it's nothing crazy. I
- 2:48Speaker 1: didn't think it was anything insane. I guess we could
- 2:50Speaker 1: get to what it is because the movie's over twenty
- 2:53Speaker 1: years old at this point. So basically, John Cusacks X
- 2:57Speaker 1: was killed by guns at a high school back in
- 3:00Speaker 1: the day, and the girl's sister is also in on
- 3:05Speaker 1: this plot, and basically throughout the movie you're not sure
- 3:08Speaker 1: what side they're on, and then at the end you realize, oh,
- 3:11Speaker 1: they're gonna fuck over the gun company because they tried
- 3:14Speaker 1: to extort money from them, and you know, they fuck
- 3:17Speaker 1: over the gun company because they want revenge on them,
- 3:21Speaker 1: because I think Gene Hackman's firm defended the gun company
- 3:26Speaker 1: in a case that they had when that that school
- 3:29Speaker 1: shooting took place. So yeah, I mean it's it was
- 3:31Speaker 1: a very good movie. It's not a typical Justin Greenberg movie.
- 3:35Speaker 1: It's more thought provoking. And you know, like I mentioned
- 3:39Speaker 1: to you yesterday, they're using terms I'm not familiar with,
- 3:42Speaker 1: and it takes time to understand everything. And also the
- 3:45Speaker 1: DVD I was watching was fucking it was pitch black.
- 3:48Speaker 1: I couldn't see anything. I think that's part on my TV.
- 3:51Speaker 1: It's also DVD is an ancient format and it is
- 3:56Speaker 1: what it is. It was still a movie I would
- 3:58Speaker 1: definitely recommend watching. So why is it Near and Dear
- 4:01Speaker 1: to your Heart?
- 4:02Speaker 3: No, I just I thought it was a very good movie.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Like you said, the twist at the end, which I
- 4:08Speaker 3: didn't read it on the DVD obviously when I saw it,
- 4:11Speaker 3: because I probably saw it before I bought the DVD.
- 4:14Speaker 3: But great cast, great story, Jeremy Pivens in that too
- 4:18Speaker 3: old school Jeremy Piven, Rachel Wise beautiful.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and there's a few other people it's the guy
- 4:26Speaker 1: Orlando Jones. He was the guy who did the seven
- 4:29Speaker 1: up ads makes seven up yours. I had that shirt
- 4:32Speaker 1: I got fucking I had to take it off in
- 4:35Speaker 1: sixth grade because it says up yours on the back. YEP.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I got it from a store Cooast called Tease Me
- 4:41Speaker 1: at Roosevelt Field Mall. You know they sold T shirts. Okay,
- 4:44Speaker 1: I'm the guy who makes seven up. I also write
- 4:47Speaker 1: the avatars, and I just came up with a great
- 4:49Speaker 1: news slogan, makes seven up yours, make seven.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Up yo us.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Dude, these guys that you're like, Okay, that guy's gonna
- 4:55Speaker 1: be a megastar, Like he's going to be the next
- 4:57Speaker 1: Eddie Murphy. He's in the movie Evolution, which is another
- 5:01Speaker 1: really underrated sci fi comedy Ghostbusters esque, and he's doing
- 5:05Speaker 1: movies and TV shows and commercials and then he hasn't
- 5:08Speaker 1: done any twenty five years. Yeah.
- 5:11Speaker 2: No, I just it's that's my type of movie.
- 5:14Speaker 3: I like the thriller type of you know what's going on?
- 5:18Speaker 2: Are they going to get away with it? Are they
- 5:20Speaker 2: not going to get away with it? It's that.
- 5:22Speaker 3: So the whole thing with that was the guy whoever
- 5:26Speaker 3: got fired or whatever, walked into his office and shot
- 5:29Speaker 3: everybody up. That's how it opens up. And then actually
- 5:32Speaker 3: it was uh, Dylan McDermott was always been that died shot. Yeah,
- 5:37Speaker 3: So that's just my type of movie. I like that,
- 5:40Speaker 3: And I supposedly it was the first time that somebody
- 5:42Speaker 3: actually went after the gun company as opposed to the
- 5:44Speaker 3: person who actually shot the people, So that was the
- 5:47Speaker 3: big thing about it. And then, like you said, Gene
- 5:48Speaker 3: Hackman works for a company where they try to figure
- 5:53Speaker 3: out because the whole part of jury selection is you want,
- 5:56Speaker 3: obviously people who are going to side with you, and
- 5:58Speaker 3: the way that they figure that out is really crazy.
- 6:01Speaker 3: It's not just one thing, it's are they married, are
- 6:04Speaker 3: they divorced? You know, have they ever had issues with
- 6:07Speaker 3: the cops? Do they like to hunt? Are they totally
- 6:09Speaker 3: against guns? Things like that. So they're putting in like
- 6:13Speaker 3: all this information to figure out who they want on
- 6:15Speaker 3: the jury, and then who the other side wants on.
- 6:17Speaker 3: And then you have a certain number of I don't
- 6:20Speaker 3: know what they call it, not an objection, but you
- 6:22Speaker 3: can basically just get rid of somebody, so you have
- 6:24Speaker 3: like five each. So if I know, you really want
- 6:27Speaker 3: this person on the jury and I don't I'm gonna
- 6:29Speaker 3: kick them off. But you also got to make sure
- 6:30Speaker 3: you use your objections properly. You don't want to get
- 6:33Speaker 3: caught at the end where you don't have any and
- 6:35Speaker 3: they have a couple left.
- 6:36Speaker 1: So it's actually insane, and it's very ignorant of me
- 6:39Speaker 1: because I'm not the brightest man when it comes to
- 6:41Speaker 1: certain things. I can tell you every WrestleMania main event
- 6:43Speaker 1: like this. I had no idea that this was a
- 6:46Speaker 1: thing that happens. They're like, you know, it's like picking
- 6:49Speaker 1: basketball team, like I pick Haim. I just thought they
- 6:53Speaker 1: picked whomever. I didn't know there was a whole process,
- 6:55Speaker 1: so that goes along. I pretty much found out. I
- 6:58Speaker 1: think the other movie, the McConaughey movies they talk about.
- 7:00Speaker 2: That probably probably I feel like that was the.
- 7:03Speaker 1: First time I was like, oh, there's like a selection process.
- 7:05Speaker 1: It yeah, like a draft of sorts.
- 7:07Speaker 3: I like court law movies, you know, like cop movies,
- 7:13Speaker 3: but also with the court process of it to not
- 7:16Speaker 3: just straight up cops off.
- 7:18Speaker 1: There was very little, uh, there's very little about the
- 7:21Speaker 1: actual court case, A lot less than what I thought
- 7:24Speaker 1: there'd be. It was more about the jury selection and
- 7:26Speaker 1: all of that, and again another spoiler, it does have
- 7:31Speaker 1: a satisfying ending, which would have been upsetting if you know,
- 7:34Speaker 1: the gun company got away with it, So I'm glad
- 7:36Speaker 1: they went that route. Every now and then, I do
- 7:39Speaker 1: like a twisted, dark sort of ending, but I was
- 7:41Speaker 1: just kept on waiting for that twist, like what is
- 7:43Speaker 1: the twist going to be?
- 7:44Speaker 3: But it's also really cool how John Cusack does certain
- 7:49Speaker 3: things to manipulate certain things, like, uh, he says something
- 7:53Speaker 3: to the bailiff and then makes them have lunch at
- 7:56Speaker 3: the restaurant where the judge is going to be and
- 7:58Speaker 3: then they're talking to them and that it's not supposed
- 8:00Speaker 3: to happen and things like that.
- 8:02Speaker 2: He just I thought, I thought it was a well
- 8:04Speaker 2: done movie.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Yeah, he's playing he's playing uh Gene Hackman's character who's
- 8:08Speaker 1: like the evil you know, for the for the gun
- 8:10Speaker 1: company and sort of playing him for a fool. And
- 8:13Speaker 1: and like you said, there's there's there's just great moments
- 8:17Speaker 1: throughout the movie and uh, definitely, uh a movie I
- 8:20Speaker 1: would recommend. And I'm glad you rented it or rather
- 8:24Speaker 1: let me borrow it. So uh, I'm gonna have to
- 8:26Speaker 1: lend you one of my weird, uh disturbing eighties movies
- 8:30Speaker 1: as a as you know, payback, yeah, payback of sorts
- 8:36Speaker 1: like damn sure, you don't underestimate me for health.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Somebody got to that girl.
- 8:42Speaker 1: He's a hard job to protect.
- 8:43Speaker 2: There's only so much.
- 8:44Speaker 1: I can do, all right, I can't protect you.
- 8:46Speaker 2: I want you to find her. I want you to
- 8:48Speaker 2: container you're losing me, my journey.
- 8:52Speaker 1: You have destroying all those people's lash anyone.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Know, we don't have anything yet.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Let's move on to the two movies that we did
- 9:12Speaker 1: see in theaters, and now we'll let's start with one
- 9:16Speaker 1: of my favorites of all time, and that would be
- 9:18Speaker 1: Flight Risk with the great Mark Wahlberg. And I love
- 9:22Speaker 1: Mark Wahlberg, and I like Mel Gibson as a director,
- 9:25Speaker 1: and these two coming together, you just knew you were
- 9:28Speaker 1: gonna get absolute gold. And that is what we got
- 9:32Speaker 1: with Flight Risk and delivered on every By the way,
- 9:35Speaker 1: I'm completely making all of this up. This was one
- 9:37Speaker 1: of the most random films that I think I've seen
- 9:42Speaker 1: in theaters, mainly because Mel Gibson is such a good director.
- 9:46Speaker 1: You know, he's made some of the best movies of
- 9:49Speaker 1: the last thirty years, and he's relegated to making something
- 9:55Speaker 1: that would have been a direct to DVD type of movie.
- 9:59Speaker 1: It felt so low budget itself. You know, you get
- 10:01Speaker 1: Mark Wahlberg, who's an A list star. I think he's
- 10:04Speaker 1: doing this as a favor for mel Gibson, is what
- 10:08Speaker 1: I'm gathering. You know, I don't know why he would
- 10:10Speaker 1: choose to do this generic, horribly acted, horribly scripted, low
- 10:15Speaker 1: budget esque type movie. Still had a you know, a
- 10:18Speaker 1: thirty million dollar budget, which is not crazy amount, but
- 10:22Speaker 1: it's not like, you know, a three million, four million
- 10:24Speaker 1: dollar film. It just just an absolute disaster of a film.
- 10:28Speaker 1: But I had actual fun while watching it.
- 10:31Speaker 3: I want to know what they spend thirty million dollars on,
- 10:33Speaker 3: because the whole thing took place in a in a
- 10:35Speaker 3: not even a good plane.
- 10:37Speaker 2: No, like a little shitty two seater, a pond hopper.
- 10:40Speaker 1: You know, I think Mark Wahlberg gets at least ten
- 10:42Speaker 1: million dollars, Okay, I think you know, Gibson gets a
- 10:46Speaker 1: decent chunk of change for directing the movie.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Tofer Grace probably still got paid a couple million.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe two or three million. And then you know
- 10:53Speaker 1: there are special effects in there, but nothing stands out
- 10:56Speaker 1: as far as you know. Oh my god, this this
- 10:58Speaker 1: scene must have cost ten million dollars just to make. So.
- 11:01Speaker 1: The basic plot of this movie is is to for
- 11:04Speaker 1: Grace's character is I guess a witness to something that.
- 11:08Speaker 3: He's an accountant for mob That's what it was, and
- 11:11Speaker 3: he was skimming money and he.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Has to take a flight I guess from alasque.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Hut in Alaska in some ran down hotel motel by
- 11:22Speaker 3: the way.
- 11:23Speaker 2: The moose or whatever it was in the beginning, Oh,
- 11:26Speaker 2: it was like horrible cgi And Jackie said, I'm like,
- 11:28Speaker 2: that wasn't a real moose. She's like, no, it's terrible,
- 11:30Speaker 2: like a I don't know.
- 11:31Speaker 1: It reminded me of the reindeer in the Santa Claus
- 11:34Speaker 1: with Tim Allen. I was like, you're starting your movie
- 11:37Speaker 1: over of this. Yeah, so you know, tofer Grace is
- 11:39Speaker 1: this witness. A cop gets on a plane with him
- 11:42Speaker 1: and Mark Wahlberg who's the pilot, and Mark Wahlberg ends
- 11:46Speaker 1: up being somebody that's not actually the pilot that they thought, and.
- 11:49Speaker 2: He's hit me with them, yeah, with the.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Mafia, and he has to go kill I guess everyone
- 11:55Speaker 1: involved with this and there's you know, there is some
- 11:58Speaker 1: tension there on the plane, and you know, just based
- 12:01Speaker 1: on the trailer alone, which is unfortunate that there is
- 12:04Speaker 1: this twist of sorts where Mark Wahlberg isn't a good guy.
- 12:08Speaker 2: We need him may day, may day, we've been compromised.
- 12:11Speaker 2: The pilot's a hitman. Oh the time little pieces, then
- 12:22Speaker 2: the entire Forensis team to identify you.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Eventually they subdue Mark Wahlberg, but then they have to
- 12:27Speaker 1: figure out how to land this plane. So it's, you know,
- 12:29Speaker 1: a cliche sort of story that we've seen from time
- 12:31Speaker 1: to time where they're calling into air traffic control trying
- 12:35Speaker 1: to figure out how to land the plane. But nothing
- 12:38Speaker 1: of this movie was good. But like I said, I
- 12:42Speaker 1: had fun with it. It wasn't boring. Out of all
- 12:45Speaker 1: the movies that we've seen throughout this last year and
- 12:48Speaker 1: a half or so, there's been movies that are just
- 12:50Speaker 1: boring and you know, you're never gonna watch it again,
- 12:53Speaker 1: and there was nothing to enjoy. This I thought was
- 12:56Speaker 1: one of those movies that was so kind of bad
- 12:58Speaker 1: at times. And Mark Wahlberg with his ridiculous haircut and
- 13:01Speaker 1: his stupid accent in his one liners and it's something
- 13:06Speaker 1: that was very nineteen ninety five ish, like just a
- 13:09Speaker 1: shitty nineties sort of movie that I had some at
- 13:13Speaker 1: least enjoyment with it. I know what I was watching
- 13:15Speaker 1: was terrible. It was not a good movie. I couldn't
- 13:17Speaker 1: recommend it to people. But I didn't hate my life
- 13:20Speaker 1: after watching it.
- 13:21Speaker 3: And it was quick, thank god, it was only an
- 13:23Speaker 3: hour and a half. But I heard that that was
- 13:25Speaker 3: his idea to shave his head like that too, which
- 13:27Speaker 3: I thought was super weird.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know what the strategy there was, but
- 13:33Speaker 1: definitely one of the worst movies of the year, and
- 13:36Speaker 1: probably in the running for top ten worst movies of
- 13:38Speaker 1: the year. Well, I have my number one worst movie
- 13:40Speaker 1: of the year, and that is Presence. Yeah, because at
- 13:44Speaker 1: least Flight Risk you had the funniness, the awkwardness, the
- 13:50Speaker 1: one liners, the corniness. With presents, you pretty much had nothing. No,
- 13:56Speaker 1: this is a ghost story that was marketed as the
- 14:00Speaker 1: scariest movie of all time, and the reviews were pretty
- 14:04Speaker 1: solid for the critics. So I'm going into this with
- 14:07Speaker 1: high expectations, and maybe that's my fault, and maybe that's why,
- 14:10Speaker 1: also why I was very disappointed with this movie. But
- 14:13Speaker 1: pretty much nothing happens for the entirety of the movie.
- 14:16Speaker 1: The ghost involved in this ghost story isn't an evil ghost.
- 14:20Speaker 1: The ghost is somebody trying to warn a family about,
- 14:24Speaker 1: you know, a boyfriend of sorts, and nothing happens, nothing happens,
- 14:28Speaker 1: nothing happens, nothing happens. The boyfriend tries to drug and
- 14:32Speaker 1: murder this girl out of nowhere. He's horribly acting throughout this,
- 14:37Speaker 1: you know, hamming it up, saying the whole plot in
- 14:39Speaker 1: front of nobody. He's just like, I like to do
- 14:42Speaker 1: this because mother wouldn't let me do things. And he's
- 14:44Speaker 1: talking to nobody, and then the ghost wakes up the brother,
- 14:49Speaker 1: and the brother tackles the boyfriend out the window and
- 14:52Speaker 1: they die, and that's it. I just smiled the entire movie.
- 14:55Speaker 1: I don't give a shit because nothing happened for an
- 14:57Speaker 1: hour and twenty minutes, and then five minutes you get
- 15:00Speaker 1: everything happening, and it's not exciting and it's not scary,
- 15:03Speaker 1: and it's just a cheap movie. Literally, it costs three
- 15:06Speaker 1: million dollars to make.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Ah. Yeah, you said they made it in like three
- 15:10Speaker 2: weeks too, right, Yep?
- 15:11Speaker 1: It was I think eleven days.
- 15:12Speaker 2: It all takes place in the house.
- 15:14Speaker 1: It's all first person point of view, so you don't
- 15:16Speaker 1: have to have any crazy setup shots because it's all,
- 15:19Speaker 1: you know, a first person, shaky sort of camera thing.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Yeah, that was the one thing I actually didn't mind.
- 15:25Speaker 2: I thought that was it was different.
- 15:26Speaker 3: It's kind of cool, like you're looking from the ghost perspective.
- 15:29Speaker 3: But like you said, everything else about the movie was terrible.
- 15:32Speaker 3: I don't know who could have watched that movie and
- 15:35Speaker 3: build it as a horror or a suspense or a
- 15:38Speaker 3: scary movie, because, like you said, there wasn't one jump scare,
- 15:41Speaker 3: there wasn't anything. The scenes how they did that as well.
- 15:47Speaker 3: You watched the scene the screen turned black and then
- 15:50Speaker 3: it was a completely different scene. It wasn't even like
- 15:52Speaker 3: you were watching a movie. It was like you were
- 15:53Speaker 3: watching thirty scenes that were just like put together.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Yeah, acting was terrible.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Nothing good with the what's her name, Lucy Lou Right, Yeah,
- 16:02Speaker 3: I usually think she's pretty good.
- 16:04Speaker 2: I thought she was terrible.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Well, how many takes could they have done? And it's like, oh,
- 16:08Speaker 1: you have one take because yeah it's you have filming
- 16:11Speaker 1: this in eleven days for whatever reason, and it's not
- 16:14Speaker 1: one of those movies where you're like, oh, that wasn't scary. No,
- 16:17Speaker 1: it's it's like legitimately it's it's not even trying to
- 16:20Speaker 1: be scary. No, at least I don't think so.
- 16:22Speaker 3: No. Like the one cool thing was like when the
- 16:23Speaker 3: ghosts moved the books off of her bed like to
- 16:25Speaker 3: the desk, But it wasn't scary. It was just like, oh,
- 16:27Speaker 3: it's cool, it's moving over there or whatever. We're like
- 16:29Speaker 3: the stuff in the closet that fell down. I guess
- 16:32Speaker 3: that was supposed to be scary, but you knew it
- 16:34Speaker 3: was gonna come.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Uh.
- 16:35Speaker 3: It just yeah, it wasn't good at all. Like both
- 16:38Speaker 3: the movies we just talked about, flight Risk and Presence
- 16:40Speaker 3: were not good. But I would watch flight Risk twenty
- 16:44Speaker 3: more times before I watched Presence once.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Yeah, that's how bad.
- 16:46Speaker 1: That's a fact right there. I think if you did
- 16:51Speaker 1: get drunk and watch Flight Risk and just laughed at
- 16:54Speaker 1: how stupid it was, you could have some fun with it.
- 16:58Speaker 1: There's nothing that you could do with Presents. And it's
- 17:01Speaker 1: so shocking because I've talked to two of my friends
- 17:03Speaker 1: that do have good tastes in movies, and they both
- 17:06Speaker 1: said Presence was good I'm like, what what are we
- 17:10Speaker 1: watching here? It's just it is what it is. You know,
- 17:12Speaker 1: people have different tastes. I mean, we have different tastes
- 17:14Speaker 1: in movies, so I can't get angry at them. But
- 17:17Speaker 1: it's just just fascinated what I did. I did not
- 17:21Speaker 1: get into it.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Like I actually don't even care what they think was
- 17:24Speaker 2: good about it because I hate it.
- 17:26Speaker 1: I will talk to one of the kids, Uh, he
- 17:28Speaker 1: actually works here at the radio station. I'll ask him,
- 17:30Speaker 1: you know, I've had him on the show before. Maybe
- 17:32Speaker 1: I'll have him back on to to claim his case
- 17:34Speaker 1: and let me know why he thought the movie was good.
- 17:38Speaker 1: But there's so many better horror movies out there. I mean,
- 17:40Speaker 1: like you said, I wouldn't eve classify this as a
- 17:42Speaker 1: horror movie, so I would definitely pass on Presence. I
- 17:47Speaker 1: still probably would pass on Flight Risk. And if you know,
- 17:50Speaker 1: if you want to rent Runaway, Jerry, definitely do that
- 17:53Speaker 1: instead of those movies. That's going to do it for
- 17:55Speaker 1: this edition of Film Real. We will get back next
- 17:58Speaker 1: time and discuss our face favorite action movies of all time.
- 18:02Speaker 1: But I want to quickly talk about Gene Hackman, who
- 18:04Speaker 1: we just so happened to be talking about you know
- 18:07Speaker 1: during this podcast, and by the time I started editing this,
- 18:11Speaker 1: Gene Hackman died. This has been a common theme now
- 18:15Speaker 1: that hopefully doesn't continue with this podcast where I talk
- 18:19Speaker 1: about somebody and then we get news that that person died.
- 18:23Speaker 1: It happened with Carl Weathers. I was talking about the
- 18:25Speaker 1: Rocky franchise and he died immediately after I finished recording
- 18:29Speaker 1: My Rocky Part one, and Gene Hackman just passed away.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Really weird case as to how he died. As of now,
- 18:37Speaker 1: as of this recording, it's not really confirmed what happened,
- 18:41Speaker 1: but him, his wife, and his dog all died and
- 18:45Speaker 1: it's a shame that he passed away. But he lived
- 18:48Speaker 1: a very, very long life and he's one of the
- 18:50Speaker 1: greatest actors of all times. So do yourself a favor
- 18:54Speaker 1: and watch something with Gene Hackman today, whether it's Hoosiers
- 18:59Speaker 1: or The French Connect, Superman or Runaway Jerry, the movie
- 19:03Speaker 1: that we discussed on this edition of Film Reel. Watch
- 19:07Speaker 1: a Gene Hackman movie because you're gonna see just top
- 19:10Speaker 1: tier acting from one of the all time great So
- 19:13Speaker 1: this episode was dedicated to Gene Hackman and his family.
- 19:18Speaker 1: We'll be back, as I mentioned. Next time discussing the
- 19:20Speaker 1: greatest action movies of all time. So long, everybody
