- 0:07Now broadcasting from the next-gen conservative studio in
- 0:12Sunny South Florida, bringing you the latest in politics
- 0:15current events and pop culture. This is he's the Whitfield
- 0:20Report with Sam Whitfield. Well, good evening, folks, and
- 0:32welcome to the show. Unfortunately, I had to take a
- 0:38pic scout out back behind the Woodshed us.
- 0:42We can, you know, it was, it was time to the old co-host.
- 0:47It's a to pasture. People are going to believe you
- 0:53be careful with that. you know, well, yeah, this this is Apex
- 1:04has himself from the dead as true, but ya know You know, in
- 1:18all honesty I think probably well to be honest I fell asleep
- 1:24because after after dinner because we had we had turkey
- 1:29which is never a good idea and I set my alarm on my phone but I
- 1:37forgot it was on silent. So by the time I did see it it
- 1:43was like it was 10 15. So, but luckily, a cab and I are
- 1:51here, I'm hoping Apex will pop in, to the chat.
- 1:55But, uh, anyway, act. But how are you?
- 1:59And how's your week been? I am.
- 2:02Okay. My week has been, um, pretty
- 2:06uneventful. Probably more uneventful than it
- 2:09should be. Haven't done too much.
- 2:12Watch some stuff just kind of chilled out, listen to music
- 2:15that little bit of work here and there.
- 2:16And played. Some games, has his per usual.
- 2:21Cool, cool. Yeah and my week has been pretty
- 2:26uneventful other than just some family drama but you know
- 2:31there's nothing you can really do about that.
- 2:34Yeah, shit happens. So Yeah, it is what it is and
- 2:41you know, we're moving forward. So I'm always happy to talk to
- 2:44you and of course even if I'll people are annoying at least I
- 2:49have my internet friends and exactly.
- 2:53Exactly anyway, so I don't know. Do we want to do video game news
- 3:02first or I guess the reason I ask is because tonight's Is
- 3:10going to be gamergate and whether or not it's still
- 3:13relevant and the reason go ahead.
- 3:18I think, I think Acoma might know why, but so mr.
- 3:23Matt occur. And I had no idea that this was
- 3:25even happening, but apparently went on a podcast.
- 3:30I think earlier this week called the Clifton Duncan podcast which
- 3:34a lot of my Normie friends actually son.
- 3:38This was actually their introduction to mr.
- 3:41Medic her. And so they found out about
- 3:45gamergate and I actually found out more about gamergate.
- 3:48Like I've had this kind of, you know, thing for the last couple
- 3:52years of, you know, ever since I discovered Ralph and this round
- 3:57one round in and I kinda like, you know, I've heard gamergate
- 4:01but what it, you know, what is and, you know, I think Apex try
- 4:06to do a pretty good job of explaining it to me.
- 4:09You know, a lot of people did to be honest but I think Jim.
- 4:13When he went on the string related did a good job of
- 4:16explaining it to me. So in a lot of my, you know, I
- 4:20all friends normally friends enjoyed it too.
- 4:24So the one question that I got was, well, Sam.
- 4:27Do you think gamergate is still relevant and, you know, 2022 and
- 4:35I would say, I would say somewhat, but this is one of
- 4:41those things where I'm like, I feel like it's one of those
- 4:44questions that can't be answered by just one person because there
- 4:48is no definite answer. So I thought I'd, you know, ask
- 4:55you an apex, maybe, you know, people in chat, who are more
- 4:58familiar with this, what your thoughts are but you know, since
- 5:02it does kind of video games somewhat Thought I would, you
- 5:07know, I thought I would kind of be up in 31 if you do games
- 5:12first or you know say though we can.
- 5:14We can wait to see if or when Apex kind of kind of wobbles on
- 5:18it and check on strolls on in because I want to hear his takes
- 5:22on the gaming news, I think that'd be kind of fun so we can
- 5:26kind of just yeah he's on in the gamergate and roll around to I
- 5:31guess games journalism, in the truest sense of the word.
- 5:35Yeah, for me. Yeah, which you know, to me
- 5:41starting a well, first off, I think.
- 5:44I think, you know, this interview was really good.
- 5:49Usually we see you, do we see Medicare and more like a
- 5:53comedic, you know, shitposting type of way, which is great, but
- 5:58it's also great to see Jim. Give like a straightforward, you
- 6:03know, interview type of interview to and You know, so I
- 6:09thought that was interesting. and then, Just you know, how the
- 6:17whole thing started and how it became a scandal, like it.
- 6:24That's that's about the kind of always amazes me is how video
- 6:30games of all thing and video game games.
- 6:33Journalism started this whole political you know, Trend
- 6:39change. Its kind of, you know, it's kind
- 6:44of surreal almost Well, I'm always there.
- 6:49It's, it is surreal when you look at it in a small frame of
- 6:55mine, also, I think the volume might be low for chat.
- 6:59I have you Max up on through on my browser.
- 7:01It's a little quiet. So I want to just double-check
- 7:04that ask for gamer guy did see the gym interview?
- 7:08I thought it was thought that that episode was great.
- 7:11The host that podcast is very good at what he does.
- 7:14He's very well-spoken, very well.
- 7:15Articulated and brings up a lot of interesting points and a
- 7:19different Viewpoint of where he came in on the subject.
- 7:23As for gamer cake, kind of being this thing, I think it was sort
- 7:28of I think it was because it was video games that It was kind of
- 7:36what made things upsetting because I mean even back in the
- 7:402010 at the turn of the 2010, you know, people were starting
- 7:44to question more commonly media and news outlets and we began to
- 7:52start to see. I mean, we had always seemed
- 7:54like things that were just click bait or just sensationalize for
- 7:58the sake of it. But when you started seeing that
- 8:01Narrative of at the time, Was very leftist, very Progressive
- 8:06very sjw as some would say, right.
- 8:10And it was in many regards, a lot of it was over the fucking
- 8:13top. Don't get me wrong.
- 8:16It's when it happened to video games of all things, you know,
- 8:21when when Gamers were being called in news articles, you
- 8:25know, you guys are toxic and you're what's wrong with, you
- 8:28know, modern internet culture and it's just a little bunch of
- 8:31boys and just started very much deriding and talking down to a
- 8:35group of people for really know you sort of see it here and
- 8:40there before gamergate. And then once gamer, get kind of
- 8:45it's mine. brains a little fuzzy on how the start is like I know
- 8:48kind of what kicked everything off, but You certainly saw a
- 8:54much more concerted effort. Once there was lashing of
- 8:59complaints about this kind of fucking bullshit journalism.
- 9:03I think many had mentioned it in the podcast like some chicken
- 9:07being so traumatized from telling some from some dude
- 9:11saying he was going to rape her while playing Gears of War on
- 9:14the Xbox 360 like completely asinine stuff.
- 9:18And I can think of of games journalism.
- 9:21Analysts who were who were new on sites, who just would write
- 9:26fucking schlock and their own opinion into not their own
- 9:31opinion, but frame it in a way that was really could be harmful
- 9:36to somebody. And I always think of my believe
- 9:37David ja he the guy who did Twisted Metal franchise and I
- 9:43think God of War, he was, he was he had said something about
- 9:48like, oh, it's a girl, you can play a game you can play with
- 9:51your girl. You know, if maybe you let her
- 9:53win, she'll suck your dick or so, like it was just that kind
- 9:56of era of of jokes and humor and whatever and right, she was
- 10:00trying to say, oh this famous Game Dev is saying you should
- 10:04you sleazy underhand tactics to take advantage of women
- 10:06sexually. And it was just complete
- 10:08bullshit and he him and particularly didn't fucking care
- 10:14for it at all. No one fucking did because it
- 10:17was this weird kind of sensitivity and thing that was
- 10:23not part of the gaming culture. I mean II come from old gamer
- 10:27culture. Many fucking dude.
- 10:29Let me let me get that fucking lie.
- 10:31I am in no way. Special.
- 10:32I am a fucking, every man of every man who came up in that
- 10:35are right. But like I was I was on Xbox 360
- 10:39during the Halo 2 days old on Xbox or I was on Xbox live
- 10:42during the Halo 2 days 360. During the three days.
- 10:45I, there was a reason I didn't play much multiplayer because
- 10:48man Those were some angry children.
- 10:53Wait, and you would hear and that wasn't just on that it was
- 10:59on the internet. In general, it was a lot more of
- 11:01the Wild West. So you would just you'd you.
- 11:04I mean, if you were affected, you grew tougher, scanning your
- 11:06Shrugged it off. And maybe that helped you in
- 11:08your real life, too. Maybe if you're yeah, it over
- 11:10something. Yeah, go from my perspective if
- 11:15I could just interject because you and I kind of come from the
- 11:18same generation of you know, Gamers were.
- 11:23Like I remember like I even remember, you know that like
- 11:28certain wines, like I will play, you know, I would play GoldenEye
- 11:3464 with my friends, you know? Yeah.
- 11:36That like multiplayer was at, you know, at a certain point
- 11:40like multiplayer. Earth and you know, the younger
- 11:43audience there, if there wasn't a name understand this but
- 11:47multi-player kids used to be when you and your friends would
- 11:51go over to someone's house on a Friday.
- 11:53And I game play video games in the same room with each other.
- 11:58And if you look at the other guys controller, you would get
- 12:01punched in the gut or worse. You know, I never play with
- 12:07those people. Think God would start beating
- 12:11each other. with controllers or, you know, or you know, and like
- 12:15no one got hurt but it was just, you know, Kids being kids, it
- 12:20was a Rowdy. Yeah yeah it was it was Rowdy.
- 12:23And then you know with You know, and then when online pie came
- 12:29and headsets can't was you know a lot of us, a lot of us made
- 12:34your mop. You know, your mom.
- 12:36Your mom is me Stanley. Did shit.
- 12:38Yeah, of course. Yeah.
- 12:39Like it was it was, it was, it was early bands but it wasn't
- 12:44funny. If it was funny it would have
- 12:45been bands, but happy time it was just a speck talk.
- 12:49Yeah, we was it was smack talk and we would say horrendous, we
- 12:53would say her and to shit. But then at the end of the
- 12:56night, it would it would be like, okay, my you know, see you
- 12:59at school on Monday or something or something alike and then save
- 13:02that. Yeah, that's if you played with
- 13:03your friends and you weren't online, you know, right?
- 13:07I mean, God even, even to this day, like I remember not that
- 13:11long ago. I was my, my friends and I were
- 13:12doing a LAN party and we were doing Halo in in me and the
- 13:16other guy, there's only one other guy there who really was
- 13:18able to. To contest for.
- 13:19I mean, he was, I do Place FPS is non-stop.
- 13:22So, of course, he's the best one in the room and he used to play
- 13:24Halo on like a semi pro level back in the day.
- 13:28So me going at him like we are fucking just screaming at each
- 13:32other just calling each other. Motherfuckers is everything
- 13:35under the sun. Like it was, it got heated and
- 13:40afterwards we got a fucking beer and set by a fucking bonfire,
- 13:42you know? Yeah like because yeah well I
- 13:46mean, I can part of that, social contract When you're with
- 13:49people. Yeah, like it either, it, you
- 13:52either. Make sure it doesn't turn
- 13:54actually hostile. Or you can just tell because of
- 13:57who, you know, that, like, it's just in the fucking thing.
- 14:01It's just in the mood. I don't normally do it.
- 14:03He does it a lot. So it ramped up me, like, oh no
- 14:06motherfucker, we going at it. Um, but yeah, I mean, that's,
- 14:10that's the thing too. Is like, it was, it was the
- 14:12couch Co-op days, because it wasn't even sometimes even
- 14:15multiplayer. You?
- 14:16Like, it would just be like, Okay, who can do this level of
- 14:21Crash? Bandicoot, the fastest, or
- 14:22something like that, right? Yeah.
- 14:26Or or goddamn a one-on-one fighting game?
- 14:31Like, you know, that's hiding games is when she got personal.
- 14:38Oh yes, oh, yes. I, I certainly remember that.
- 14:42I remember back in the day, with those fighting games, like,
- 14:45there used to be a, there used to be a, a Rocky game that was
- 14:50made up of the rocky franchise and it was actually for boxing
- 14:55game. It was actually like Roy good
- 14:57back back in the day it was actually better than fight night
- 15:00and yeah you know and in some ways it didn't look the best but
- 15:04he played good. It was solid.
- 15:06Yeah, and I remember, and I remember and that was actually
- 15:10got me into the Rocky movies actually.
- 15:12And I remember that my friends are my friends and I just used
- 15:16to play, you know, that for hours and just, you know, there
- 15:20were some matches where, you know, where like, I would be him
- 15:24or he would beat me and, like, you know, our feelings.
- 15:28We went to talk for days, you know, just finding out on how he
- 15:31did it got, you know, stuff like that, but one of the other
- 15:36things, I remember and I guess this is kind of, like, one of
- 15:39the things that, you know, coming from my perspective is I
- 15:45kind of always feel like Gamers have been under attack.
- 15:47Because I always remember, as a kid when Grand Theft Auto Vice
- 15:54City came out. And you know, that game was very
- 16:01controversial and I remember, I remember, I shit you not.
- 16:06Not I remember, I remember my parents, like coming home from
- 16:12like a Pete. Haines meeting and laughing
- 16:14because I guess one of the teachers or someone like the
- 16:19school board had like, brought up this like article but someone
- 16:23had written about how I like Grand Theft Auto was influencing
- 16:27the next generation of like School shooters or yeah, you
- 16:30know, or just like, you know, there was there was that whole
- 16:34thing of like, you know, that Games are going to make the Next
- 16:38Generation School shooters and like, back in the day, everyone
- 16:43in games journalism, kind of laughed it off, right as as
- 16:49everyone should have by, you know, I guess kind of the thing
- 16:53that fascinates me. It's like right everyone in the
- 16:56Gaming Community pretty much everyone used to kind of like,
- 17:00you know, laughs all this petty bullshit off and then For
- 17:07whatever reason, once things got political, you know, as they
- 17:10usually do, no dinner started to take themselves or at least some
- 17:16of them start to take to take themselves more seriously and it
- 17:20became a whole thing. Yeah.
- 17:25And I mean, I guess, you know, it's so anyway it was it was
- 17:31just weird because like you know, coming coming from kind of
- 17:35the old I was kind of like, wait, people are taking this
- 17:39shit seriously now, it was weird.
- 17:43So I mean back then, like you, you would have ones who, who
- 17:48would it would be a cocktail of things.
- 17:51You could never say, fully the Grand Theft Auto would make,
- 17:54someone become a shooter because in Grand Theft Auto, I think the
- 17:59thing they poked on. And and to this day I went to go
- 18:02look up the name of one fucking lawyer who ran against rock
- 18:05star, right. Jack Something I think.
- 18:08But I was looking for the guy bt8 GTA ban gai politician.
- 18:12And there are still articles from last year about us
- 18:15politicians trying to get violent video games band.
- 18:17It's still something we're dealing with and I didn't even
- 18:19know we're still dealing with because 2022.
- 18:23But yeah, the thing is, is like, it was free form, but like you
- 18:27weren't, there was kind of, like, yeah, there was a rampage
- 18:30missions. Three in this and that, but you
- 18:33weren't playing a psychopathic murderer.
- 18:36Her say in three you were playing Claude, he was kind of
- 18:40silent, but he would do things for this that and there were
- 18:42things that were changed because of 9/11 and dada.
- 18:46But certainly, once by Vice City, you had, this was a, he
- 18:53wasn't a mass murder. He was a he was a drug Runner,
- 18:56you know? Yeah, yeah.
- 18:58It was, I mean, GTA Vice City is, I mean, it's a sad High,
- 19:04Miami Vice, it's a satire I have of the 80s Scarface.
- 19:09Yeah. All the way, it's a satire of
- 19:10the 1980s, which is anyone, who knows me nervous as far as Pop
- 19:15Culture goes. That is my favorite decade and
- 19:19in pop culture, and Apex of gawking.
- 19:23For it, but I damn motherfucker. The neon drenching the fucking
- 19:28pasta laughs. Fuck, no.
- 19:30I know the 80s wasn't all just Miami, but in my brain, all the
- 19:3580s was across the world was just Miami.
- 19:38And that's a great world. I think.
- 19:40Well, we well yeah. Hey Well, we also we also had to
- 20:01think outside of the even there, they teased but like
- 20:08retrospectively and shit. Neither neither was I but like
- 20:14that I always go. You know, there's always that
- 20:16question if you could travel back to any you know, period in
- 20:20time. You know, when would you travel
- 20:22and I always go without hesitation the 80s.
- 20:26I mean, even just to see some of, you know, the bands that I
- 20:31love. And oh yeah, yeah, that alone
- 20:35would have been, you know, fantastic.
- 20:40But yeah. So, but under the topic, you
- 20:43know, so it the thing is, is like, okay GTA is, is is
- 20:47sandbox. So you can do Whatever.
- 20:50And I think it's like there were games, like, don't think there
- 20:54was black and white, but there were certainly games where you
- 20:57could cause death and Mayhem like Command and Conquer and
- 20:59things like that. And and Driver three was
- 21:02actually a game. That was GTA before GTA was GTA3
- 21:06driver, didn't hit any controversy.
- 21:09I think it was a lot more simple because it was PS1.
- 21:12But what it is it also just it that kind of shit ties into just
- 21:18us politics in general, as well. Yeah.
- 21:23And so it's absurd to say that it creates it can facilitate but
- 21:30there's more foundational problems of what that does and I
- 21:36mean that's it's that was a thing too.
- 21:38Is that it was revolutionary at the time because nobody had
- 21:41there was no other game like that.
- 21:44Right. So it was it was a new hotness.
- 21:46It blew up, it was popular with the kids even though it was for
- 21:48adults, which kind of dismisses a lot of any blame on the
- 21:53artwork of the game and kind of puts blame on the parents for
- 21:57buying that for their children. But you know, they don't like
- 21:59to. That doesn't fit the narrative
- 22:02rights, not blame the parents and bad parenting and letting
- 22:04them play a mature adult video games like here, I'll tell you a
- 22:07perfect fucking story, right? It was Christmas of like 2003, I
- 22:11think or 2002 and I Ad. And I had wanted a PlayStation
- 22:162, right? They've been a little bit.
- 22:19And I had gotten Kingdom Hearts first.
- 22:23I was like oh cool. I do have a Game Stop
- 22:25PlayStation 2 for but that's cool.
- 22:26Okay. And then I got the PlayStation 2
- 22:28and then there was another time I got, it was Kingdom Hearts and
- 22:31guess what? The other game was Grand Theft
- 22:34Auto Grand Theft Auto 3. So I play Kingdom Hearts first
- 22:39because that's what I really wanted.
- 22:41And then I went to go play GTA 3 now, my fucking child.
- 22:46PlayStation brain thought Oh man, I can hop on the cars and
- 22:51ride them around the city. I was jumping on the roof, I
- 22:54didn't know you could drive the cars, I wasn't paying attention.
- 22:59So I was just riding around on cars and running around like
- 23:02kind of punching people, and running away and jumping on
- 23:04other cars, exploring. And then, like the day or two,
- 23:08after my dad takes it away. I was like, why is like there's
- 23:11that stuff that you don't need to see?
- 23:13Because he was worried I was going to see prostitutes and and
- 23:17and drug usage. Meanwhile my is like huh.
- 23:19I'm on top of the car and it's moving around.
- 23:21I'm a falling. That's cool.
- 23:23Yeah I wasn't. I wasn't like, give me a
- 23:27fucking. Give me a gun.
- 23:28I want to shoot all these people at school.
- 23:30I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 23:43My friends and I used to just for just for grins like we would
- 23:49always like flying the helicopter and just like and
- 23:54just you know mess around with like the radio stations and that
- 23:58was, that was like, all we used to always to do at first.
- 24:02I mean, And then, you know, like we would, we would, we would
- 24:08like kill people just because like, the animations were goofy
- 24:11to. It was.
- 24:12Yeah, it was like, it wasn't like we were actually homicidal
- 24:17anything. It was just, you know, but they
- 24:19got the think, I fear all you GTA games is.
- 24:22I mean, even now somewhat, especially back then like they
- 24:26were, you know, they were cartoonish on.
- 24:29They were very they were, they weren't like, they didn't Like
- 24:34real humans, they felt like computer game people.
- 24:37That's what your kind of got that right.
- 24:38Yeah, yeah, right. They essentially looked like,
- 24:43again, going back to an 80s reference.
- 24:44If you've ever seen the money for nothing music video where
- 24:48where, you know everyone looks W blocky that was yeah I know what
- 24:52everyone will look looked like in the air and that might have
- 24:56been because of graphics and you know limitations but that might
- 24:59have lost been done on purpose. Somewhat you know like I always
- 25:05remember one game. Like was huge that I used my all
- 25:10the time as a kid was Spider-Man.
- 25:13You know, PS, oh, yes. Fighting into for the PS2.
- 25:18Yeah. And I remember like, there was a
- 25:21way that you could take thugs, you know, up on top of buildings
- 25:25like from the ground ground, and I used to just like rock them
- 25:29from like 40 stores or something.
- 25:32Yeah. Yeah. you know, just because
- 25:36just because you could and, you know, it was, it was just stuff
- 25:39like Like that and you know now sandbox games are diamond.
- 25:47Are dime a dozen? Yeah, I guess the only thing I
- 25:51can kind that I can kind of remember from gamergate was
- 25:57although that, you know, this had happened a few years, after
- 25:59the start of gamergate, I remember like one of the big
- 26:03five, you know, one of the big like feminist outrageous is in
- 26:07Red Dead Redemption, which or read the drill.
- 26:10Engine 2, which is one my favorite game so that's why I'm
- 26:14referencing it but there's a part where I think as Arthur
- 26:22urine like you're in want your like in the New Orleans hype
- 26:25City and there's a there's like there's a woman suffered Marge
- 26:32and I guess someone got in trouble because he made a video.
- 26:36We're basically like he captured and hogtied You know, the the
- 26:43woman suffrage later and then like fed her to the owl.
- 26:47I remember that was that was fucking hilarious.
- 26:50I remember seeing that fucking yeah.
- 26:55Yeah, they're always really hot and like that.
- 27:11And you realize you can do it in a video game.
- 27:14Yeah. Which which, which Speaking of
- 27:17I, I may or may not have I may or not play that game on the reg
- 27:23are still and I may or may not have hogtied.
- 27:26A Serna individual who reminds me of a certain uh you know,
- 27:30hard hog. And I've had Arthur feed him
- 27:39too. The the, I the I get the
- 27:46Alligators or now. I think I actually I'll have to
- 27:50check my gameplay footage. I think I actually said him to
- 27:54the pigs in the pig in. Well, the pigs eat the bodies to
- 27:58oh, oh yeah. Oh yeah.
- 28:01Oh man, it's been a minute since I played.
- 28:04I didn't know that shit. Yeah, I mean yeah Red Dead
- 28:08Redemption to still holds up. I it's a fantastic open world
- 28:14game and in the just the amount of stuff you can do in the
- 28:17creative ways you can do it. Yeah.
- 28:19A large is that but I actually remember this one of the
- 28:22Counterpoint are articles to because I mean the thing with
- 28:27the feminist getting beat up I do remember that like that and
- 28:30made headline news. Yeah.
- 28:33And 10. And then I forget exactly who it
- 28:38is. I and I hope they don't you know
- 28:40get mad at me on Twitter whatever but I I do remember
- 28:43someone wrote like a counter point of like really you know
- 28:48Red Dead has like one of the best stories ever and video
- 28:52games. You know one of the best you
- 28:55know, you can do so much and you're complaining about this.
- 28:58One thing and making a big dog wasn't even required by the
- 29:03game. It's somebody died, right?
- 29:05Yeah. No.
- 29:07I it's it's completely asinine. Like, so the one.
- 29:14Now, the one thing that people have continuously made claims of
- 29:19and I don't really understand, I still don't understand where
- 29:22this claim comes from, but that without gamergate, we wouldn't
- 29:27have had trunk. And Mi thing is I mean, I guess
- 29:33I get to a certain extent that like You know, Trump running as
- 29:38president was initially a 4chan ship house to actually turn into
- 29:42reality. I think what do you mean him
- 29:45winning or him? Running him.
- 29:47Him him running and winning. I guess winning.
- 29:51Yes, he's been running. He's or been wanting to run
- 29:54since like the turn of the century, hasn't he?
- 29:57Well well that's the that's the other thing too is.
- 29:59I think I think he had like initial.
- 30:02I think had he had initially run Under like all these like, you
- 30:07know, third party, like, you know, small waves, like I'm old
- 30:11and I'm old enough to remember like when Eminem, you know, fake
- 30:14endorsed him on, you know, on TV as yeah.
- 30:20I remember when you know, when Bobby Lashley, you know, when
- 30:31Bobby Lashley, you know on his behalf and That was weird.
- 30:42Yeah, and that was and that was actually always my go-to.
- 30:47When people would say that Trump was, you know, a racist or
- 30:50whatever, or hated black people, I would always pull up that clip
- 30:54and I'm like, And I'm like, motherfucker, he had like the
- 30:59most badass black fighter, you know, fighter period, like yeah,
- 31:04representing and WWE. He couldn't, he could have had
- 31:08anybody else do it. And for Bobby Lashley of all
- 31:11fucking people that man cares about performance and results.
- 31:17Yeah, maybe changes some point, who knows as for the point about
- 31:21gamergate lead into it, I think it was I think the thing is that
- 31:27you saw what happened with gamergate and how much Gamers
- 31:30were Beatdown for practically nothing.
- 31:32And we're just told they were scum of the earth and this that
- 31:35and the other and it didn't, it was big for its region, right?
- 31:43Because it will the gaming World left right and Center.
- 31:47Yeah, but there's a lot of people in Industries, it didn't
- 31:51get to so I think When the same kind of strategies were being
- 31:58used against Trump of just saying, oh he's a racist.
- 32:03Anybody who likes him as a racist in their an idiot and
- 32:06he's not going to get the the the candidacy and this that and
- 32:11the other and it didn't work. Then they started to double
- 32:15down. And the thing is that with
- 32:17gamergate More or less. All the institutions are still
- 32:25in place. The same one that Jim talked
- 32:26about, right? But with Trump, It's it got to
- 32:35the boiling point because it wasn't just Gamers.
- 32:37They were talking. It was everybody.
- 32:39It was. And a lot of that was generally
- 32:44working middle class. America based on, you know,
- 32:47right voted for him in the Sun. The other, anybody can probably
- 32:49tell you that much at least. I also I'm just going to say
- 32:56this out right, I'll live in a blue State.
- 32:58I got to be kind of careful with my words and how I phrase
- 33:00things. So if I say I phrase things
- 33:02weird, that sounds no just that I did.
- 33:06I know it's good but I got to watch my figure out some people.
- 33:11Yeah, II, get that. I mean, I come from I come from
- 33:15Colorado. Even though I live in Florida,
- 33:17I'm stove I still talk to enough people from Colorado that I'm
- 33:21like. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 33:23So I got it. Yeah, like it's you can't and
- 33:27that's a sucky thing that you can't always just say, shit.
- 33:30How you want to say towards somebody in negative work
- 33:33positive, or you got to use, perlier fights.
- 33:35But anyway, um, so the thing is that when so many people were
- 33:39being told all these terrible things that it there was lash
- 33:45back, you know. Yeah.
- 33:47And and the thing is to, as part of the opponent, I don't know
- 33:52how much it would have popped if Hillary.
- 33:54I wasn't talking about hateful memes or hate speech or
- 33:59Internet, misogyny, or whatever. If that do didn't scream Pepe,
- 34:05you know me. Magic might have never been
- 34:07fucking me, but the thing is too, is that it was, it was at a
- 34:13boiling point, because a lot of it started to see a lot of the
- 34:16net culture that I think pays attention to things, you know
- 34:20you can't you can see chain culture and should call this
- 34:22shitpost culture, and she like that.
- 34:25They had noticed like all of this kind of pushing this
- 34:29narrative driving, this being told and anybody who likes his
- 34:32one guy is terrible and always ready, just using these
- 34:35buzzwords to try and just shit on his character.
- 34:38No problem. People got annoyed by that.
- 34:41And what's more is that it? I think it helped Elevate but I
- 34:49think a lot of what Trump was also was just he was that break
- 34:54from politicians and everyone was kind of wanting in a way.
- 34:58Yeah, well there was that, but then like I always would you
- 35:02breaking from The Establishment? Yeah well and I also I always
- 35:07explain this to my liberal friends.
- 35:11Yes, I actually have some friends who are level and then
- 35:13like I don't I don't get it. Why?
- 35:17Why did you Do you know why do you vote for Trump?
- 35:21What was like honestly, I will, I've always said this, I don't
- 35:26think of him if Hillary Clinton had not been the Democrat
- 35:29nominee if it had been anyone else.
- 35:33And oh, yeah, probably, yeah. I don't think Trump would have
- 35:37would have one I think because here's the thing.
- 35:42Like like, like you said with Donald Trump.
- 35:45Oh, he's running for office. You know, as president, I mean,
- 35:50Hillary Hillary did the same thing.
- 35:52In fact, like One of the rumors, you know, of why?
- 36:00Of why she stayed with, you know, Bill after blowjob gay
- 36:03happened was because, you know it, I mean, the Laura kind of
- 36:11Go-Go's that, you know. Hey, hey Bill, you know.
- 36:16Oh, I'll remain mare all remain married to you.
- 36:20But, you know, now it's my turn to, you know, to be prepared to
- 36:25be president and then she got, and then she got conked, you
- 36:28know, Out of that position by Obama and then in a way thank
- 36:34God. Yeah, no, absolutely.
- 36:37Anyways, here's not Obama one way or the other.
- 36:42Yeah. So and then like I think I think
- 36:462016 like even though Democrats were like really you really want
- 36:52to, you want to go with her again and if I think it was kind
- 36:56of thing of like well if And if you guys, you know, if you guys
- 37:01in in the Democrats, aren't going to take this seriously,
- 37:05then we're not going to we're not going to take it seriously
- 37:10and we're gonna nominate Donald Trump who was the least, yours
- 37:14Canada. If you want to shit show, we'll
- 37:17turn this into an absolute fucking.
- 37:20So that's what fucking happened. And I mean, and I mean, here's,
- 37:26here's thay, like, oh, like, oh no.
- 37:29Like, there were people. They were people who will now
- 37:32say, like, you know, my external bitch.
- 37:34And, you know, my love will say, oh, yeah, I always knew Trump
- 37:38was going to win in 2016, but I guarantee you that he and, you
- 37:44know, I think everyone even on our side who voted for Trump
- 37:49when he got elected the first time, it was kind of like a Holy
- 37:55shit. He actually yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 37:59I thought like it sits, I hope but man, I'm not going to even
- 38:05kind of expect it because I know not to expect good shit in my
- 38:08life and then it happened and I just remember sitting there and
- 38:11going fuck, I guess my mom was right, anybody can be president
- 38:17Yeah, I mean, I remember, I remember was like, I remember
- 38:23like, I think I've, I remember I stayed up for like, so I
- 38:28remember. I remember like, the day before
- 38:30I was, I was really depressed because like all of the
- 38:36prediction polls had said, how I was going to win, and there are
- 38:41already rumors of, like, 90 90 to 10, it was insane.
- 38:45Odds, like Time Magazine was Panting shit for Hillary and she
- 38:50was getting all cocky about it. And, you know, and then when
- 38:55Trump, you know, one it was like, like I was thrilled.
- 38:59I was also like, this is really weird right?
- 39:04And then, you know, so, you know, I think that happened to
- 39:12and then, you know, like honestly, I think that's kind of
- 39:16like when the Trump Coalition, at least part of it kind of
- 39:21started to fall apart because then you had like all these, you
- 39:26know, people like baked Alaska and you know, You know, Milo and
- 39:34I'm not, I'm not sure if like I'm not sure if Matt jarrah was
- 39:37a trump guy but like all no, no, no Matt.
- 39:40Matt Matt is very left but like all these internet people who
- 39:45were on the right kind of started to kind of go degenerate
- 39:50and you know getting kind turn on each other afterwards and now
- 39:55and now we're at where we're at in 2022.
- 39:57And yeah it's wild so oh yeah, it's it is I mean, what do you
- 40:07expect from a bunch of shit? Posters it puts conservative,
- 40:11conservative, conservative effort into like pushing me
- 40:16magic to get somebody elected president.
- 40:18Like it's you attract all kinds of different people and you
- 40:23definitely saw it before those years during those years, and to
- 40:28this day and just it's insane to see where most of them are
- 40:32today. Yeah.
- 40:33And then yeah. And, you know, now, like and now
- 40:38half of them are rooting for the feds and whatnot.
- 40:41It's like it's like genius anus. You know, said last week like
- 40:45everyone is holding, you know, finger guns to each other's.
- 40:48Jim heads over over fish and whatnot and like honestly, I
- 40:54think I think 2024 is going to be like another I think we're
- 41:01kind of at the point of no return where like elections from
- 41:04here on out, are you going to be a shit show if we have them at
- 41:08all? Yeah. but yeah, terms of like,
- 41:15gamergate though being the specific, I think it was I think
- 41:19it was just sort of that first taste of being fed up with being
- 41:23fed an obvious narrative from every, every media outlet and it
- 41:28was just being fed up with the obvious collusion.
- 41:32And the difference is in gamergate and you did see some
- 41:34things come out during the election like the project
- 41:36Barrett and stuff and all that. But as soon as you get to like
- 41:41see that taste of collusion like you you you can confirm their
- 41:46shady shit like it. You get upset and most people,
- 41:51do kind of feel helpless like they can't really make any
- 41:53change in any way. And then this election presented
- 41:58itself and I think there were those that believed in him,
- 42:02there were those that were shitposting with them.
- 42:04And I think there were those that just wanted to take a
- 42:06fucking game. Yeah.
- 42:08Well and and that's actually that kind of feeds into another
- 42:12point. I just thought of I think
- 42:13gamergate also kind of signified.
- 42:17A big changing the culture to it.
- 42:19The sense that like right video games and movies used to kind
- 42:25of, at least masquerade as like an escape from politics.
- 42:31Now, I know you now, I know that like, people argue that, like,
- 42:35you know, movies, I've always been like Puerto Al Gore and
- 42:38whatnot but like and I mean, I guess, yeah.
- 42:41You can kind of argue that but like a race.
- 42:44It is, it's a genre in general, like you're not gonna.
- 42:48You can look at Wars. And you can say, oh yeah, there
- 42:51is political because it's saying that Empires are about.
- 42:53Yeah, but no, you're missing. The point is just evil Bad force
- 42:57and they try and stop the good guys.
- 42:59Yeah. And yeah.
- 43:01And now like everything is just so like blatantly political now
- 43:05it and I think there's nothing wrong with stuff that is
- 43:09blatantly political that wants to be like Manchurian Candidate.
- 43:13You know. Like there are there or Full
- 43:17Metal Jacket there. Deftly films, that are political
- 43:21in nature that have something to say but they're not.
- 43:25So up your ass about it. And I think that's and we saw
- 43:29your right after at that point we started to see a lot more up
- 43:32here, ask kind of shit. And the worst part is not even
- 43:35that because if something's political, and somebody wants to
- 43:38make a statement, I'm cool that it's the, the, the fucking the
- 43:44catering to certain kinds of grass and this, and that, and
- 43:48the other Yeah, I mean, and that's like, I think that's why
- 43:53a lot of people, I mean, my stepdad, and I included like, we
- 43:58used to love, we used to love watching football on Sundays,
- 44:03just because that was like, you know, our like thing hours.
- 44:07Hey, you know, from shit and then like, like in a, you know,
- 44:12an occasional like you would have like individual players
- 44:15like, you know, like doing you know, Like activist causing and
- 44:21whatnot. Yeah, but then once it became
- 44:23like, you know, you will kneel, you know, during the national
- 44:27anthem. And if you don't like your
- 44:28racist, it was. Yeah, it was that whole thing,
- 44:32it was like, it was just like, you can't be, you can't just be
- 44:37like, you know what, Uncle individual like the entire, you
- 44:43know, game has to be politicized.
- 44:44Otherwise, you're racist or, you know, you're a nest, whatever.
- 44:49Fill in the blank. Yeah, it when it when it becomes
- 44:53more about the messaging rather than the actual entertainment
- 44:58product that it is first, And it's not like and the product
- 45:03doesn't, you know, it's not meant to cater to that political
- 45:09thought like no one gives a fuck with football.
- 45:11You throw the ball, you catch it, and you touch down and and
- 45:15color team wins and then everyone gets mad.
- 45:18And then other team is sad. That's it.
- 45:20Yeah, don't have to talk about, you know, the status of
- 45:25generational, wealth, going down the property Market, getting
- 45:29smaller, you'll have to get political This is football.
- 45:33Yeah. Oh yeah.
- 45:34Or or or if you do like like that?
- 45:38Like if your player and you want to say something, I understand
- 45:41that you've got position in power but you know, it's what
- 45:47when you bring it into what you're making, it can ruin the
- 45:53thing you're making which yeah, just make nobody care about your
- 45:57thing. I have a perfect example of
- 45:58mine, I'ma let you go first before I do it though.
- 46:01Well, no, I was just going to say with with, you know,
- 46:04finishing up with the football analogy.
- 46:06It's like I explained, it's like I explained to a friend, like, I
- 46:10don't mind that athletes, you know, in sports, have their And
- 46:17right, I really don't but you know say it when you're outside
- 46:22of the Arena, you know, and what not and when you know one your
- 46:26honor day, I live in people say, and people always like to make
- 46:29the argument when else are they going to do?
- 46:31And it's like motherfucker, it's 2022.
- 46:34People are always on. So for me to like, there are
- 46:36plenty there nowadays. Yeah, Yeah, they're gonna come
- 46:43Santa more in the past, but nowadays.
- 46:45Yeah, and they do it's both. They do it in their personal
- 46:49stuff and then they bring it into their product.
- 46:52Yeah, we're into the product. No, it's to roll back into
- 46:59games. I guess.
- 47:00I was a big fan of tech TV. Back in the mid.
- 47:02Audis, huge fan of Xbox video game review show and that they
- 47:08got techtv got bought out. Well originally is EDTV.
- 47:11Then techtv then techtv got bought out by G4, which is owned
- 47:15by the Comcast in the like, and I remember and this is a long
- 47:23form, but it's going somewhere. I remember X-Play originally, it
- 47:27was kind of a little left-leaning they were shitting
- 47:30on George Bush in here and there, but who didn't it?
- 47:32Was George fucking Bush. Well it was George W.
- 47:35Let me put it like that. It was George W.
- 47:36Alright I understand you know but you know it wasn't it wasn't
- 47:42too crazy. It wasn't like anything over the
- 47:47top. It was like oh the girl reviewer
- 47:49wanted there to be more hot guy. I think we hot girls.
- 47:52Why are there no more? Hot guys, you know, she'd be
- 47:54kind of grossed out but it's I love the hot guys like they
- 47:57played into her side without making it all preachy.
- 48:01Then after they got bought out and they moved to LA and that
- 48:07she tell you exactly where this story is going.
- 48:10Yeah, I remember them sitting there and doing a segment called
- 48:15outdated stereotypes or offensive stereotypes in gaming
- 48:19and they were talking about Latinos, right?
- 48:25Anybody for South America, Mexican, Spanish, all that kind
- 48:27of stuff, and they were talking about it, how they weren't
- 48:30portrayed very Well in video games and they would choose, you
- 48:36know, Spanish characters who are antagonist in the story.
- 48:40They would choose I think Louise from Resident Evil 4 and how
- 48:46he's all giggling, the president's teenage daughter,
- 48:50you know? Or they would, they brought up,
- 48:54I shit you not the the, the Mexican gang banger.
- 49:02Dudes. The Mexican gangs from San
- 49:04Andreas as bad representation of Mexican people and I'm sitting
- 49:11there going, you motherfuckers, those were real people that
- 49:17exists, not all of them, but you can go around the Spanish parts
- 49:20of San Andreas in Los antos and see, just regular Spanish people
- 49:25and Latino guy walking around, it's not all gangbangers, but
- 49:29their gang bangers are Is I all the Traders?
- 49:33They were Thing Worth fucking some worth some.
- 49:36Yeah. Look like you're somewhere
- 49:37Bandits. Yeah, the point is is like is
- 49:41like the actual, the actual gangbangers are supposed to be
- 49:44portrayed. As like, as you know, bad ha
- 49:49Hombres or whatever? Yeah, exactly.
- 49:51That bad guys. And it was like oh, why can't
- 49:54why can't we have a positive portrayal of Latinos and video
- 49:57games as heroes or features or some just asinine shit.
- 50:01I'm Like what the fuck is this schlock?
- 50:04Thankful I didn't watch x way too much longer after that
- 50:06because it just got worse and worse.
- 50:07So G Ford died with many. Yeah, and they decide to bring
- 50:12it back in the modern social media age which is the stupidest
- 50:16goddamn idea I could ever think of.
- 50:18Yeah. And there was a controversy, not
- 50:20long ago about what we actually covered here brief.
- 50:25Oh, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.
- 50:27So I want to just wrap this all up with that point in So
- 50:32obviously you didn't Morgan Webb didn't want to come back to
- 50:35X-Play. It was just sessler because
- 50:37sessler needs a money and saw out a little bit.
- 50:41Hazel is one of the buy-in fuck me, right?
- 50:43So they get I think Jared the completionist which is weird.
- 50:50Some black dude who really like talking about ass and titties on
- 50:56his own stream and talking about how much he likes to how you
- 51:01know. No, if you tell a woman to
- 51:03swallow, she'll just do. It was some weird shit, right?
- 51:06But he was on that couch, next to a particular lady in
- 51:09particular who was named Frost and, and in, this is all thing
- 51:16pisses me off to fold. And I know one of the reasons
- 51:18that this, I probably both are the same reasons to piss you
- 51:21off. So, the first part is that
- 51:24instead of talking about the lack of care for Red Dead,
- 51:28Redemption to that Rockstar was giving. it and the overall
- 51:32neglected the game and how it's a fucking travesty she decides
- 51:38to go off on a rant about how Basically the, the the viewers,
- 51:49the Chatters, they all hater that they always say that other
- 51:53women are hotter and that she's not there to be a sex symbol and
- 51:57or she's not there to be all gold out or whatever.
- 52:00And that's weird. You guys are weird creepy
- 52:02pervert losers. Same kind of gamergate rhetoric
- 52:05and of course Adam was clapping in the black man would go.
- 52:08You tell them. Yeah.
- 52:09That's right. Are you do you go for us?
- 52:20and the whole thing is that same kind of like When you talk down
- 52:28to someone like, if you have something to say, okay, that's
- 52:31that's fine. You can do it but it gets
- 52:34hijacked by the sort of shit by people who either take it too
- 52:38far or just I think in her case she might have just legit
- 52:41hijacked it. I don't fucking know but trying
- 52:43to say oh women work on this whole thing and you know women
- 52:46are Gamers like yeah we get it no we get it and skipping yeah I
- 52:51think. Yeah.
- 52:54Now my whole take on the frost thing and this and this I mean I
- 52:59hate to say it but like what? And it ruined the product, it
- 53:01ruined the show, they show isn't in remission.
- 53:04The whole networks in remission because she told people not to
- 53:06watch continue. Yeah, well, so here's so, here's
- 53:10my thing. So revenge of the show and G40
- 53:15be back in the day, was primarily targeted at teenage
- 53:20guys, right? Or guys in there.
- 53:22Teens and 20s whatever. Basically that was it that was
- 53:27always the Target demographic. Honestly.
- 53:31So exploit was too. Yeah.
- 53:34And and same and same. And same thing with with like
- 53:38Playboy and same thing with the Sports Illustrated, who all I
- 53:42promise I'll tie those things into in together but like they
- 53:46were things. So the thing that drives me
- 53:50crazy, just with forth with like fourth wave, feminism in general
- 53:54is like right there. Obviously things are like
- 54:00Marketed more or less to straight you know hetero you
- 54:07know sexual heteronormative whatever you want to call it.
- 54:10There are there are some brands are intentionally like Made For
- 54:15You know guys for a long. Yeah has AIDS and a body spray.
- 54:31Sara Underwood is not there for you to jerk off to it.
- 54:34It's like And it's like and it's like now she little I posed for
- 54:40Playboy, that's a little. Yeah, that's Olivia Munn's, not
- 54:45there for you to OG lat while they have for jump into a pie in
- 54:49a maid outfit and like lick a PlayStation and all this shit
- 54:54she she was absolutely there to be a fucking sex symbol and
- 55:00Morgan Morgan was picked because she was hot Morgan, got on the
- 55:05screen savers. Because she had tits and could
- 55:09pass the camera test, along with a couple of other girls who
- 55:13worked on that. Because I've read the book
- 55:14behind the scenes in the during that era.
- 55:17Well, and the thing, the thing of it is is like there was just
- 55:21working. Yeah, it was you talks like any,
- 55:25you know, like model or, you know, any anyone who's in that
- 55:30position and most of the time, if you ask them like, you know,
- 55:34hey you know, how did you feel that?
- 55:36Out that they were like, yeah, we were cool with it like, like
- 55:40thing, they knew that they were there, you know, to be sex
- 55:44symbols and they were not and, you know, and they were okay
- 55:46with it. In fact, you know, not only were
- 55:48some of them, okay with it. Some of them, you know, really
- 55:52likes it. For what I mean?
- 55:53I mean, hey, if somebody thinks you're attractive enough and a,
- 55:56even if it's just had, hey, you got something, you know?
- 56:00Yeah, it opens up new doors and a lot of them are a lot of folks
- 56:03in general in Show Business during that era especially.
- 56:06The middle eighties were opportunistic.
- 56:09Yeah and you know like I understand like we have things
- 56:15like Harvey what I understand there are you know that there
- 56:19are drastic cases like Harvey Weinstein, but the problem is,
- 56:24but the problem is now we will have an assassin.
- 56:27Now, we live in a culture or in an internet culture.
- 56:31I should say, what by saying, a society of sorts Yeah, we will.
- 56:39This is this is my big George Costanza /, you know?
- 56:45Yeah, I guess Joker. You know, since that's what this
- 56:48do, you know, it's all we know. No, it's always going to be
- 56:51George, we're living in a society.
- 57:08jerk off into the same, you know, category category as hot
- 57:16as like, Harvey Weinstein and it's just It's that level of
- 57:21extremism and it's that level of activism.
- 57:24It's like, okay. So you want to lump all, guys,
- 57:28in with Harvey Weinstein, you want to lump all Gamers and what
- 57:32power you want? Ari Weinstein.
- 57:35And you don't see why gamergate happened and why it's, you know,
- 57:40still some other Island thing. That's the problem.
- 57:44It's not that Limon em. Look, the other thing too is I'm
- 57:48like it. If?
- 57:51If sexy women in gaming, you know, are such a problem.
- 57:56You know, if it were if it's so bad for when women to be sexy,
- 58:00then why is oh God, I can't wait amaranth.
- 58:07Why is she at the end? Why is someone like kitty
- 58:12malaise a thing? You know?
- 58:14It mean I got to fold on you for this one.
- 58:18All right, one little Just have that quick little discussion and
- 58:23press F in chat. For all of the, the video game
- 58:26convention, Booth babes. No more hot chicks.
- 58:29We're in video game clothing or costumes to sell you product
- 58:33because apparently, the non pretty girls don't like that and
- 58:37then the pretty girls that have these jobs.
- 58:38Like, what the fuck we rely on these jobs?
- 58:42Why are you doing all right? Yeah.
- 58:45No. I know.
- 58:46I would only the sad thing is, is like I have a, I have a
- 58:51friend who's who used to be like a competitor in, you know, the
- 58:58Miss America. Pageant and okay.
- 59:02And then when they started to change things and get super
- 59:05political in like allow the senate in a while, I like the
- 59:09foreplay feminists, like start to influence this.
- 59:12This thing she's like Yeah, I'm I'm out.
- 59:17And then I asked her, I'm like, I'm like wind, she's like,
- 59:21because I don't necessarily, I don't mind, you know, what it,
- 59:26what it was before I didn't want, I didn't want it to change
- 59:29like, no, nobody, nobody asked any of us who were actually
- 59:34competing what we wanted. They just kneel to the to the
- 59:38activists in that and like, yeah.
- 59:41And that's the thing and And that was kind of what?
- 59:46What the nice gentleman who interviewed mr.
- 59:48Medicare had brought up is that he was having these liberal
- 59:52middle to high class. White people telling him why he
- 59:54should be offended as a black man about social issues.
- 59:58And then the second it said exact same fucking shit.
- 1:00:02And you know, I guess that kind of shit started with.
- 1:00:09Feminism, I don't know if that's where that particular ideology
- 1:00:12of let me explain the use our didn't start out of the fourth
- 1:00:15wave because it that should spread through Tumblr like
- 1:00:19wildfire. But yeah the booth babes is one
- 1:00:24and yeah you have you have women who don't who don't mind like
- 1:00:27granted of course some probably are taken advantage of here
- 1:00:30there and some just accept it as rules of doing business.
- 1:00:34Not whether that's wrong, right? That's not for me to fucking
- 1:00:36this. I don't I'm not going to claim
- 1:00:39to be any higher power. Don't don't do things to people,
- 1:00:41they don't want done. Don't be a sleazebag.
- 1:00:43Sure. But, you know, if the wind
- 1:00:47happen if the woman goes there, no, she's going to put on a
- 1:00:49skimpy dress with a logo on it and hand out some stuff for a
- 1:00:53couple hours and get paid five 600, 700 bucks fucking make your
- 1:00:58money. I should, I wish I was fucking
- 1:01:00hot enough in a female to do that.
- 1:01:02That sounds like, Easy Money shit.
- 1:01:04I'm not. And most, and most guys, is at
- 1:01:10those conventions generally like, You know, aren't like most
- 1:01:15guys, aren't sleaze bags are not sleazebags.
- 1:01:20Like, yeah, you might get, you know, you might get a few looks
- 1:01:23but nothing like, you know serious.
- 1:01:27Yeah. There's, there's always security
- 1:01:29and stuff like that, and it's a very minor example what it's
- 1:01:32like, but in the thing is, too is God.
- 1:01:37I forgot the other. Oh, yeah.
- 1:01:38The other point of, like, sex cells.
- 1:01:40Are you were you saying? Yeah.
- 1:01:41Aw, Jesus Christ, female streamers in general with
- 1:01:45cleavage. Um, and then like you don't you
- 1:01:51don't even need to sell it on pure sex appeal and that's why V
- 1:01:53tubers are thing. Like sometimes it's just a dude
- 1:01:59wants to spend time with a girl. One way or the other, it's not
- 1:02:03even about sex half the goddamn time.
- 1:02:06So it's a weird thing to try to fight on is like, oh we're not.
- 1:02:10I gaining. Yeah.
- 1:02:11But you're supposed to be entertaining and I'm not fucking
- 1:02:13entertained right now. Yeah.
- 1:02:16And yeah, and I mean, like, you know, I know that like people
- 1:02:20say, well, you know, well in cell culture, that that's a
- 1:02:23problem in it and it's like, well, maybe maybe if like, maybe
- 1:02:28maybe of guys, you know weren't so like maybe one so stigmatized
- 1:02:33be a guy, you know, these days like Now sure, that, you know,
- 1:02:39they're like actual cases, like, actual and cells, right?
- 1:02:42Yeah, I think most of the time, it's just, it's just guys who
- 1:02:46are awkward, who don't know how to talk to girls and, and then
- 1:02:51in this generally mean, well, yeah, and if you're and if
- 1:02:56you're, you know, and if you're slightly awkward, oh, that's
- 1:02:59probably that's problematic. So, SPS aren't V tubers just
- 1:03:07guys. Oh no.
- 1:03:07They're they're they're female. They're are there have been a
- 1:03:10couple of cases of a guy pretending to be a girl but no
- 1:03:13it's a very female dominated field in the same way.
- 1:03:16That female streamers dominate their own Fields.
- 1:03:19Yeah. Yeah no.
- 1:03:23I mean oh sure you're a you're a gamer you know I know.
- 1:03:27I know. So yeah I mean I mean yes isn't
- 1:03:33isn't like Even your internet mom.
- 1:03:35Pipkin pip guy. You know, my mother is 15 pipa
- 1:03:39and my father is Tenma my me correct.
- 1:03:42Unofficially unofficially for legal reasons.
- 1:03:47But yeah I yeah I know. It's it's some cash a yeah, they
- 1:03:53are. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:56I mean, I don't know what that means for my future but I know
- 1:03:59both of them are females for absolute certain.
- 1:04:03Oh, oh both of them are. I mean, you can look at a lot of
- 1:04:09the very top high-end YouTubers. They've all got their, they call
- 1:04:15them roommate. But the details on who they are,
- 1:04:17are out people know. They are like one of the most
- 1:04:20popular. She's a rapper.
- 1:04:24Like she does shows like she's 100% female in every sense of
- 1:04:29the word. Yeah.
- 1:04:31And a lot of it is kind of some cash and it varies because of e.
- 1:04:34Tubing thing is just as wide as YouTube like you have people who
- 1:04:38try to sell like oh it's a girlfriend experience or oh,
- 1:04:44it's the mommy experience or some shit like that.
- 1:04:48But then you have people like Pipkin pipo like my like my
- 1:04:51mother who Ooh just think of an a pink anime short rabbit,
- 1:04:57playing postal 2 and talking about how they're putting
- 1:05:00chemicals in the water. That that's Pippa.
- 1:05:04That's why I love people. That's why I picked this my oh
- 1:05:07she because it's such a wide range of their absolutely
- 1:05:14thoughts left, right? And center.
- 1:05:17And then they're just, they're just people being people in the
- 1:05:20same way that, you know, you would find on YouTube of just
- 1:05:24crazy people being crazy people. Yeah, you know, and, you know,
- 1:05:29and why, and it's like Oh, I have a lot of the people who are
- 1:05:34complaining it like a while I've missed, you know, gamer culture
- 1:05:36and just internet culture in general, don't understand, don't
- 1:05:41understand to begin with, right? It's like yeah, if I'm
- 1:05:45complaining about well I mean this might not this might not
- 1:05:49quite be the same thing but like because we all depend on it but
- 1:05:52like it would be me complaining like plumber Plumbing, you know.
- 1:05:57And how like You know, it would be me.
- 1:06:01It would be me complaining like the way plumbers DUIs and thing,
- 1:06:04when I don't understand the first thing about Plumbing.
- 1:06:07Oh yeah. You know, or something or
- 1:06:12something like that. So, um, so I mean, it kind of,
- 1:06:19It kind of seems to me, like gamergate.
- 1:06:23Well, I mean, I know there's also, like, Comics gay and, you
- 1:06:27know, stuff like that will gate gamergate, is, what kind of
- 1:06:31really pushed the gas on. Let's call anything.
- 1:06:35That's a controversy, a gate right now, was the beginning of
- 1:06:39that. Shit.
- 1:06:41We had that wasn't commonly used since fucking Watergate, you
- 1:06:44know, right? Yeah.
- 1:06:47Would you blow job gate is a new term.
- 1:06:49That is not what it was called back in the 90s.
- 1:06:51No, no. It was, it was called.
- 1:06:54It was, it was called the, it was called.
- 1:06:56Well, I mean, it was, it was called, it was called well when
- 1:06:59ski I just call it. Yeah, I just like to call it
- 1:07:03Blow dog gate because that's happened.
- 1:07:06I mean I'm sure many people do. And you know, in and I mean and
- 1:07:12honestly like as far as Scandal and as far as like scandals go,
- 1:07:17that wasn't that wasn't the worst thing.
- 1:07:19The other. I mean, the other rumors with
- 1:07:22with Trump is it's been confirmed like he's somewhat to
- 1:07:26Playboy Playmates and I was like what's wrong there.
- 1:07:29And then there was also, you know, rumors that he went out
- 1:07:33with like Trish Stratus and Torrie Wilson a few times and
- 1:07:37I'm like, okay well And there's definitely, no problem problem
- 1:07:41there. Like this just makes me want to
- 1:07:43vote for more or some, you know, stuff like that.
- 1:07:47So gotta kind of messaging from genius anus about what what they
- 1:07:52called the Scandal back in the 90s?
- 1:07:54You wanna know what he has to say?
- 1:07:56Yeah, I love to hear what yeah what the anus face has to say
- 1:08:01form at genius anus on Twitter tells me that the the Clinton
- 1:08:07blowjob Scandal of the TS was called Jewish girls.
- 1:08:11Never played pay for dry-cleaning
- 1:08:34also. I will say no one is safe from
- 1:08:36the grift and grifting in itself.
- 1:08:37It's not fucking That I do not technically serve 4 people, I
- 1:08:43like that, but because I adhere to that kind of schizoid mental
- 1:08:47health, sometimes gamer words might fall out mentality.
- 1:08:54But no, she's actually one that says like, beware parasocial
- 1:08:58relationships. Beware how much money you give
- 1:09:01think, realistically about it, like engage engage with your
- 1:09:05entertainment in a healthy way. Like she pushes for that and
- 1:09:08That's also one reason why I like her so much is because
- 1:09:12whereas other V tubers will say will act like, you know, a
- 1:09:16girlfriend or call, you honey or something.
- 1:09:19If you Super Chat them or give you special attention.
- 1:09:23She's like, no, don't do any of that.
- 1:09:24Don't fall for that. They're trying to trick you
- 1:09:27would be wearing motherfuckers like that.
- 1:09:29Yeah. Which is weird.
- 1:09:31It's weird to me that like the gamers do do that.
- 1:09:35I mean, it's weird to me that like Gamers and people who don't
- 1:09:39Horn. I mean it I guess weird when
- 1:09:41like you know when like cam girls do too but like with like
- 1:09:45cam girls and we're not it at least makes sense somewhat
- 1:09:49because it always felt like you know it is supposed to be sexual
- 1:09:53but like when you know, when like video game players do that,
- 1:09:59that's when it gets weird. So it's or weirder, I guess I
- 1:10:04should say. I mean don't get me wrong like
- 1:10:06people are going to watch for their own.
- 1:10:08Ins. And Everybody's watching for
- 1:10:12something different, right? There are some dudes that just
- 1:10:14want to watch and see fucking tits.
- 1:10:17Are some dudes are watching just want to hear a nice voice and
- 1:10:20then you have dudes like me who want to watch gameplay and you
- 1:10:26know the the the the anime person talking is just a little
- 1:10:29addition to what, you know. I loved ones place you know back
- 1:10:33from the 2012, back from the gamergate a share.
- 1:10:36I find love Lets Plays. No dude no dude some of those
- 1:10:41Let's Plays help and actually like, help me get through games
- 1:10:45to that. That's that's the other thing is
- 1:10:48like, I've been able to experience games that I wouldn't
- 1:10:51have been able to play on my own that is just easier to watch it.
- 1:10:54Yeah. Oh yeah completely.
- 1:10:56So but yeah, I know it's it's It's II hate to.
- 1:11:04I like I get it like, you know, games did sell on hot, female
- 1:11:10girls in it, in a way like, okay, Tifa was hot.
- 1:11:14Laura was hot. Laura Croft was hot back in the
- 1:11:15day and descend the other fucking.
- 1:11:18What's a chick from blood rain? Um all kinds of shit like that,
- 1:11:22right? But in this case, it's like now
- 1:11:25all the sex appeal is to the people playing the games and the
- 1:11:29games are not the game. So give me nothing like Look at
- 1:11:33what a play, the games that whole I'm not just watching for
- 1:11:35someone to sit there and want to play with her fucking tits out
- 1:11:38of want to play the fucking game.
- 1:11:40Um so I watch for you know, somebody doing something cool or
- 1:11:44just I'm watching for somebody, I want to see somebody who their
- 1:11:48personalities are like is let's play or whatever, play through,
- 1:11:51and get a genuine reaction. And I think to a lot of it also
- 1:11:58boils down to that. I think a lot of those dreamers
- 1:12:00tend to pick Multiplayer games. Where it's just the same thing,
- 1:12:08all the time. They don't have to think about a
- 1:12:11story or be emotional half the time and the send the other and,
- 1:12:17and then you get another weird shit.
- 1:12:19Like the hot tub strength streaming culture and channels,
- 1:12:21weird? Yeah.
- 1:12:26Which, which blows this whole thing of like, women shouldn't
- 1:12:29be sexualized out of the fucking water.
- 1:12:32When hot tub streams are a fucking thing on Twitch.
- 1:12:36Right body, painting streams and fuck.
- 1:12:45My favorite my favorite is all like these lingerie like you
- 1:12:49know, streamers or whatnot. Who are like her?
- 1:12:51Like it's not sexual. Meanwhile their titties are
- 1:12:55like, you know close. Yeah.
- 1:12:58Like everyone. Everyone knows what you're
- 1:12:59doing. So it's I say, I say all of that
- 1:13:07to counteract Frost and say no women Put on these shows and
- 1:13:13done to sell this product because you are working for a
- 1:13:16corporation and you are selling a product don't ever.
- 1:13:21It's not sex play with never some indie thing.
- 1:13:24It was new and edgy for the time in 2003 and it pushed some
- 1:13:28bounds and it was scuff a little bit for TV programming, but it
- 1:13:33was still, they had to hit numbers, they had to push
- 1:13:37things. So Morgan had to wear certain
- 1:13:40kinds of shirts that showed off arms a little More or something,
- 1:13:43or they would do the hentai game section or they can look a Penta
- 1:13:46games when they were in Japan, like they had to cater to the
- 1:13:49demographic because it shows made for a demographic same way,
- 1:13:55unscrewed with Martin Sergeant was.
- 1:13:59And so for frost to, for frost to say that someone like me who
- 1:14:03is a huge fan of tech TV back in the day and to an extent G4.
- 1:14:08I fucking am pissed because somebody like that is working.
- 1:14:12Something, I heralded so close to my heart and understood the
- 1:14:17core of like II. Things have to change and adapt,
- 1:14:22right? But to say these kinds of things
- 1:14:24and not be able to even admit what the past was like you you
- 1:14:28deny any side of that and you have to take it for what it is
- 1:14:32to appreciate it so it's like And on top of it, that's just a
- 1:14:37fucking Twitter rant. Shut the fuck up and keep it on
- 1:14:39Twitter. But the thing is is that there
- 1:14:41were other girls that weren't the only reason that she got
- 1:14:44upset is because guys didn't find her hot.
- 1:14:48They found the other girls hot but it was her.
- 1:14:51And she just kept saying, oh, and chat this.
- 1:14:53That they're saying, chat wasn't saying that goddamn thing.
- 1:14:56I think it was shit from Twitter and shit.
- 1:14:58She read online. And yeah.
- 1:15:00Well yeah, one and and then that's the other adjectives, you
- 1:15:04know, don't of don't feed the Holes, speaking of when women
- 1:15:09in, get in gaming, I did not plan for this.
- 1:15:14I swear to God, I didn't want but 80 just tweeted out the most
- 1:15:22appropriate meme on Twitter. Oh, did she have on?
- 1:15:27Which I put it up on screen. Wait wait I've got a quick the
- 1:15:32thing so it'll actually okay I'm familiar with tomatoes.
- 1:15:36This, by the way, he does, he does good work.
- 1:15:39And yes X-Play also reviewed games very well.
- 1:15:41Morgan wet was fantastic. No, fuck that.
- 1:15:52Do I want that? I want Archie be fucking stove.
- 1:15:55That looks fucking dope for for the, for the people, for the
- 1:16:02people listening on the audio podcast for the podcast.
- 1:16:07See this the meme is gaming setup for girls and then it's
- 1:16:13and it's a picture of a skill. A skeleton like a neon, what
- 1:16:17cook topper, right? Fire itself is RGB which
- 1:16:25actually I'm not gonna lie that actually legit kind of seems
- 1:16:29cool to be entrained rainbow fire coming out of your stove.
- 1:16:33Yeah, sure. Fuck it.
- 1:16:34That's cool. All right yeah that's kind of
- 1:16:35that's Nope. Yeah, as long as it got as long
- 1:16:39as it gets my eggs done in the morning, you know.
- 1:16:43Yeah. Oh yeah, I don't again, this one
- 1:16:51dad gaming was better when female Gamers were only fans of
- 1:16:55gaming and not trying to shill an only fans career which I
- 1:16:58agree with. Yeah.
- 1:17:01Well I mean Yeah, they got a rougher back then rougher than
- 1:17:06they get it. Now back when it was just girls
- 1:17:08who like to video games, they got it so much way worse than
- 1:17:13chicks, have it today, and games because now there's so much more
- 1:17:18adjustment to the culture to kind of prevent the, I mean,
- 1:17:21shit, still happens. But nowhere near.
- 1:17:23Where used to, I was in those fucking Halo, 2 lobbies?
- 1:17:27Yeah. Well and oh, yeah, well and then
- 1:17:30well, and then there are well. But then but then the other
- 1:17:33thing. It was always funny was like, I
- 1:17:35was in a couple of those, like I was in a couple early Call of
- 1:17:38Duty a lobbies. I remember where they would be
- 1:17:40chicks and it would be, it would be hilarious, right?
- 1:17:44Because you would, because you would, you know, you you would
- 1:17:48get some pretty fell, you know, shit hurled up at the females
- 1:17:53and then, you know, rather than like crying or devil.
- 1:17:56A lot of these people back in the day would say, oh yeah, well
- 1:17:59in fuck, you back your dick. Let you know, you dick.
- 1:18:02Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:18:03Like they would banter back or they would be quiet and the ones
- 1:18:07who felt they had to be quiet. That fucking sucks.
- 1:18:09But like the ones who could hit it and adapt and roll with it,
- 1:18:14they ended up being that pretty bad ass like a bird, someone
- 1:18:18chick popping off. And even if she wasn't doing
- 1:18:21super great like that was still like, oh damn okay shit.
- 1:18:25That's cool. Yeah, I mean and it was and it
- 1:18:30was hilarious because then because then you would be like
- 1:18:33oh shit. This girl can can rev.
- 1:18:36Yeah and she likes games. Hey, that's enough.
- 1:18:40Yeah, yeah. So it's it's, it's It seems were
- 1:18:49still seeing today and we're still seeing in how games are
- 1:18:53marketed and it it is permeated the industry to its core.
- 1:18:59I remembered the Capcom leak came out not too long ago with a
- 1:19:04lot of internals. And there were documents for
- 1:19:07Capcom talking about avoiding gender stereotypes.
- 1:19:12So, they wanted to avoid rolls like Zelda and Link, And Mario
- 1:19:18and Peach. And they wanted to embrace
- 1:19:21things like the last of us. And, or I'm sorry, The Last of
- 1:19:24Us Part 2 and life is strange. If I remember, yeah, I know it.
- 1:19:30It's got a positive representation or something or
- 1:19:33fighting. I know the Japanese aren't used
- 1:19:36to this bullshit. Ya know what?
- 1:19:39Let me tell you how? Let me tell you how bad, how bad
- 1:19:43it's gotten when I was in, when I was in my, I think my It
- 1:19:47wasn't quite bad, my son, my freshman year of college but it
- 1:19:53really got bad around like 2015, 2016.
- 1:19:57When I was in my sophomore year of of college So, I remember, I
- 1:20:08remember, I actually had a professor who made this stupid
- 1:20:15rule that you could not use gender, the language.
- 1:20:20Fuck. So, I remember, I remember, I
- 1:20:24got I wrote like, I'm not saying was perfect, but it was pretty,
- 1:20:28it was, it was actually a pause paper.
- 1:20:32Probably and I remember I remember I wrote something out
- 1:20:35like fire subject was something on you know, on fire men.
- 1:20:40Yeah. See, I did it again.
- 1:20:41The subject was on like firefighters or something like
- 1:20:45that and I used the term fireman, I use the term fireman,
- 1:20:49right? And I got it, I got points taken
- 1:20:54off because I referred to the firefighter as a fire, you know
- 1:21:01me? Yeah.
- 1:21:02Yeah. End of a fire.
- 1:21:04And it was just like, And it was just like, what, what, but why
- 1:21:10are you taking my beans out for that?
- 1:21:12But yeah, like that's that's type of petty bullshit.
- 1:21:15Now, that were and it's it's it's that kind of shit where it
- 1:21:19says the actually that's not a proper to use when like common
- 1:21:28usage, dictates even though it sounds gendered, it's not like,
- 1:21:32hey, you guys like it, if there are girls, it's We'll buy is
- 1:21:37because in that term, you guys can yes mean a group of guys or
- 1:21:41you guys can mean a generalized group of people due to Common
- 1:21:45usage and how we adapt language trying to fight over the
- 1:21:49semantics of language and control how it evolved.
- 1:21:53Normally has been one of the most infuriating things I've had
- 1:21:56to deal with and because they'd hit eyes into the video games
- 1:22:00because then when they localized Japanese games we have to
- 1:22:03fucking suffer and same front of me, we have to suffer with this
- 1:22:06fucking In bullshit where they try to work in through
- 1:22:11localization, quote localization, in some cases,
- 1:22:14certain kinds of jokes or rephrases or change how certain
- 1:22:18characters were represented in original media.
- 1:22:22Yeah, well, it's interesting that you say that because like I
- 1:22:25have I have friends who are, I have, you know, granted their
- 1:22:29internet friends with, they're still friends who liked, who I
- 1:22:32who, you know I've known for the past few years who are like from
- 1:22:35France who are from France and Europe and whatnot and, you
- 1:22:40know, over there where you know, French and Spanish and we're not
- 1:22:45like those all. You know, you have the mango
- 1:22:47languages. So is pretty good.
- 1:22:55But even so they'll be like, what is this?
- 1:23:00Trans? What is this?
- 1:23:02Non Jen like, like they don't they don't get the concept.
- 1:23:05Like, how can you? But like, like one of the like,
- 1:23:12one of my friends who is friend Jack?
- 1:23:13She says something that's very funny, but true.
- 1:23:15He said trying to use language without gender is like trying to
- 1:23:21breathe air without oxygen or I mean it wasn't it wasn't perfect
- 1:23:26grammatically but like I understood what he was trying to
- 1:23:29I say it's like yeah for so like for some reason European
- 1:23:33countries, don't they laugh at all of us?
- 1:23:37You know gender. Yeah, they really do South
- 1:23:41Americans do. Yeah.
- 1:23:43It's uniquely as you. It's uniquely an American, you
- 1:23:48know, a Canadian. Yeah.
- 1:23:50And somewhat like, Western thin and an American candidate.
- 1:23:55Yeah. It's it has to do with the
- 1:23:57Melting Pot syndrome. Yeah, well, yeah.
- 1:24:02Well, now, it just seems like the melting butter has melted.
- 1:24:05Melted everyone's brains at this point.
- 1:24:11I mean, yeah. It'sit's kind of I ate it has
- 1:24:14gone to I like there's I go back to thing that fucking Latinos
- 1:24:19and Latinas hate fucking the hate.
- 1:24:21They hate the term Latin X. I hate the term lot next.
- 1:24:24It's stupid as shit. It sounds stupid as shit, it's
- 1:24:27not part of the language, and it's being dictated by people
- 1:24:30who aren't primary speakers of that language which is even more
- 1:24:33inferior, right? Yeah.
- 1:24:35Yeah. And then and then when and then
- 1:24:37when I asked what, and then when I and then, I asked what?
- 1:24:41A lot and eggs is no one can give me a straight answer as
- 1:24:45what it is because there are 50 because the other thing too with
- 1:24:49all this non-gender stuff, is there.
- 1:24:52Anyone can give you 50 fucking definitions for any one of these
- 1:24:56things. And the fact they say oh, well,
- 1:24:59well well it keeps changing. It's like It's like oh, so
- 1:25:05changes on a whim. Yeah that that's bullshit.
- 1:25:10Oh yeah. The gender fluid and she yeah,
- 1:25:13it's it's it's Be what you want to be.
- 1:25:19I don't give a fuck just like, yeah, I quote, fucking filthy
- 1:25:25frame. Basically, I don't fucking care
- 1:25:28what you like, okay, I'm a fucking Hustler.
- 1:25:30You just don't just, don't be up in my face with it.
- 1:25:34Yeah, yeah. I take that to heart.
- 1:25:36Yeah, I like it when you try to tell other people how their
- 1:25:41culture should adapt based on this particular sort of thing or
- 1:25:44this minority group of people in comparison to the majority or
- 1:25:48trying to like they don't, you're right and you're up
- 1:25:51there, it's And there but it's nowhere near the levels of
- 1:25:55Canada and the US in terms of so many people don't fit that the
- 1:26:00the I guess you'd say the traditional mold anymore.
- 1:26:05Yeah, and I think, I think almost in a way, the only reason
- 1:26:10why it's in those countries as much as it is, is parse probably
- 1:26:15because of the internet. My only two rules are basically,
- 1:26:22you know, you do, you don't, you know, don't bother and then one
- 1:26:26and then don't don't met and then don't mess with children
- 1:26:31and, you know, really and just like and just let kids be kids.
- 1:26:36Yeah, other than that, As long as you're not harming anyone,
- 1:26:42what you do behind closed, doors your business, you know, in a
- 1:26:45fucking thing to meet ya. And and the funny thing is, is
- 1:26:49like 40 years, 40 years ago, not even 40 years ago, 30 years ago.
- 1:26:55Now that that used to be like a reasonable, you know, things
- 1:27:00even from like, even from the left or, you know, from the web
- 1:27:04rules. But now, I think it does I mean,
- 1:27:09even even, I mean, God there was a point where he was like, even
- 1:27:13in the 90s and probably fucking the 80s, even is like, it was
- 1:27:18kind of like the military don't ask.
- 1:27:19Don't tell what you do is your business is, you know, he would
- 1:27:22yourself or whatever and some people are okay with, you know,
- 1:27:27but then some people took it and they turned it into an identity.
- 1:27:30And, and then she got wacky. yeah, it's just yeah.
- 1:27:43Things got wacky and people say, well, the other thing is we
- 1:27:47start is we I think as people we started taking ourselves too
- 1:27:52seriously. Fucking it by my fucking way too
- 1:27:55seriously. I think even us as a human
- 1:27:58species kind of takes ourselves too seriously.
- 1:28:02Yeah. I mean Yeah, just just in
- 1:28:05general, just in general. I mean, yeah, the fact that like
- 1:28:11in the fact that if I take this internet drama, seriously is, I
- 1:28:16mean in some cases, right? Like, if you're swatting people
- 1:28:20and not like that's, you know, that's an extreme.
- 1:28:22And you should take that seriously.
- 1:28:24But like, yeah, if like, you know, Like Ralph, I get I always
- 1:28:31hate to make a profit. He's a perfect example of
- 1:28:33someone who knew he's the he is the prime example of someone,
- 1:28:38who can't lie, pics, Petty fights.
- 1:28:41And it's like, wait, what? You're you're starting Ireland
- 1:28:46shit over this really? Wow.
- 1:28:52I mean that's how that's the grift dog grift.
- 1:28:58Yes, it just go. It just goes to yeah, it just
- 1:29:03goes to show how, you know, weird everything and that's a
- 1:29:08one thing before I want to move forward with the point.
- 1:29:10I'm about to make about how things are are weird.
- 1:29:13Now for Steely anime? Yes, I sometimes say anime or
- 1:29:17sometimes they automate. It depends on who I'm around and
- 1:29:20how they say it on a man's. Technically, the older I get the
- 1:29:23more correct old school way of saying it.
- 1:29:26Animes just. It was in drilled in my brain.
- 1:29:28And so, now I bounced between the two and it's a personal
- 1:29:31hellscape. With every day.
- 1:29:32Hi, my name is occupied anyway. Moving forward with how it's
- 1:29:35strangely hold on. I just I just want to say acma
- 1:29:42steal. You might not have been here for
- 1:29:44his introduction episode a few weeks ago but a couple grew up
- 1:29:47in Japan so please you know Joey lived on an Air Force Base in
- 1:29:59Japan too. 22 in two places. Yeah.
- 1:30:04And so his his weep credentials are actually or jet I would hope
- 1:30:11because I don't like that much fucking anime anymore.
- 1:30:13Goddamn. I just said, culture, the
- 1:30:19culture I grew up partially a lot engorged by so I was like
- 1:30:23yeah, of course, I'm gonna be into that.
- 1:30:24Shit was all I saw. Dude, I mean what can I say?
- 1:30:34It's I'm guising but I can't help it.
- 1:30:37Like, I don't know. Well, it's okay.
- 1:30:41It's okay to be egg white, guys. You we all got to be the uncle,
- 1:30:44you know. Yeah.
- 1:30:46You know, and as much as people give you for Fran and I will say
- 1:30:51this, for now, at least anime is pretty I won't say it's based
- 1:31:00but it's not. It's not poiiticai sized the
- 1:31:03sjw, the SEC. The doves are kind of getting
- 1:31:08there, I know, I know they're trying but they haven't read
- 1:31:16them ruined yet. So the moon Rune cartoons.
- 1:31:20That's the term you guys are looking for in chat.
- 1:31:22Moon Room cartoons. Um but yeah, it's got Anime.
- 1:31:27I get it. About the anime industry but we
- 1:31:29got to stay on topic. Fuck but what I was going to say
- 1:31:32is I think what makes everything so weird and has you having
- 1:31:35these fucking moments with Ralph where you're like what the fuck
- 1:31:42why? And I saved the grift is because
- 1:31:45everything is fueled by money now and it really affects the
- 1:31:50type of stuff that's put out on the internet.
- 1:31:54Yeah, I think ruins a lot too. Oh yeah.
- 1:31:58Well, and what? All like, I'll be honest to.
- 1:32:04This is one of the things like drives me crazy as like as a
- 1:32:10podcaster, as someone as one who had stolen strong time, it's
- 1:32:13like it's like, yeah, do I do I want to make money doing the
- 1:32:20Whitfield report? Absolutely.
- 1:32:23Yeah. Whoo.
- 1:32:23So, you know what is big money from some danger?
- 1:32:25Yeah. But is but is making money.
- 1:32:29The reason is making money is making money.
- 1:32:34The reason why I do this, no I do this because I've always
- 1:32:39loved podcast. I've always been weirdly
- 1:32:41interested in politics, someone and I always enjoy talking to
- 1:32:46people. Yeah you know what shows goes,
- 1:32:49you're still doing it. Yeah and and Unfortunately, you
- 1:32:55know, I think, I think there are a lot of people out there like,
- 1:32:58me in a position, but unfortunately, because all
- 1:33:02because of all these grifters who have come in and started
- 1:33:06doing this, and have made, all that making money, I think it's
- 1:33:10kind of painted us all someone in a negative light.
- 1:33:16Oh, yeah. Munna everyone.
- 1:33:23But certainly like, you know, it's it may think there's more a
- 1:33:27stigma to overcome so, you know, yeah, that's that's why I would
- 1:33:31say. If you can donate, you know, all
- 1:33:35my stuff is in the description but I'm not going to be one of
- 1:33:40these people is like, you know you need to you need to pay me
- 1:33:45or else, you know. You're out of here.
- 1:33:47Are you? You know, I'm fucking pay
- 1:33:50PayPal. I'll dive or some stuff.
- 1:33:54I have stuff playing income dup. Whoa.
- 1:33:57Wow fucking words. Good job.
- 1:33:59Good job Acumen shit. I have some stuff planned out.
- 1:34:03Coming up that I want to do for my own YouTube channel and like
- 1:34:10I've been in the process of planning and thinking, and
- 1:34:14plotting shit out for six, six, seven months, solid and it's
- 1:34:19been stopped spinning my head for years.
- 1:34:21But I have certainly he certainly come to the terms of
- 1:34:29I'm doing this because I want to do creative things and I want to
- 1:34:32make creative things like I used to.
- 1:34:33When I was a teenager that when YouTube you could make money on,
- 1:34:37I just make silly amvs or lip sync.
- 1:34:40Videos to audio using games and stuff and you'd some YouTube
- 1:34:44poop stuff or things like that. I just would create and I had so
- 1:34:47much fun with it. It's why did Sprite art for a
- 1:34:49while? And I was just like fuck with
- 1:34:52little Sprites shit. So like I know anything, I do
- 1:34:57going forward, just don't even think about it and just do it
- 1:35:01for the fun of doing it. Exactly.
- 1:35:06Because it will reflect in the work.
- 1:35:08Yeah. If you're if you're entertaining
- 1:35:11and you put the effort in, you might not get do nose overnight
- 1:35:15but you'll start to, you know, you'll start to monetize one way
- 1:35:20or the one way or the other. Well, the thing is is like it's
- 1:35:23not even. I thought about it and and this
- 1:35:26is the its Because I'm thinking about what I'm doing and I want
- 1:35:31to do it for the creative because I have I enjoy these
- 1:35:34types of things and I want to make my own oven and Donna died
- 1:35:37like that but it's that I can't. It's not about making anything
- 1:35:43off of it because well I want it to be a catalog at the end of
- 1:35:46the day because I won't do it forever.
- 1:35:48Obviously, you know, nothing ultimately last forever.
- 1:35:53So I want to say that no matter what regardless of if I make
- 1:35:56something or nothing from it. That's okay.
- 1:35:59Because I'll have enjoyed what I made and I can enjoy going back
- 1:36:04to things and enjoying it. However, and it's just it's
- 1:36:07something that I created and I think that It's worth more than
- 1:36:11the monetary but for most people it's all about the fuck.
- 1:36:16You know. Cash rules, everything around me
- 1:36:17cream, get the money dollar dollar bill y'all you know.
- 1:36:20Yeah, that's how it is and I got stuck kind of almost in that set
- 1:36:24of like trying to plan out how growth and potential is like no,
- 1:36:27don't fucking worry about growth, do what you need to do
- 1:36:29to put it out and get eyes on it because you want people to enjoy
- 1:36:32and experience it but don't Take it as a business and put your
- 1:36:37best in but don't expect just do it for the sake of it.
- 1:36:43Well, well, the other the other thing too, and I mean, I've
- 1:36:46shared this before, what a bit but like after the, after the
- 1:36:51show, that was the 2020 election.
- 1:36:55I kind of got burnt out on doing like 24/7, political news
- 1:36:59coverage, right? Oh yeah, that shit will Tire
- 1:37:02you. Yeah.
- 1:37:03And, you know, And so I was just like, you know, I still wanted
- 1:37:07to do the show but I just want to do show where I can bands
- 1:37:13with people just out, you know, whatever more openly.
- 1:37:16I don't have I don't have to talk politics every day because
- 1:37:19I swear to God if I have to talk it like what?
- 1:37:22Joe Biden. Is doing?
- 1:37:25Yeah, I'm actually can get tiring.
- 1:37:27Yeah. There's they're all there only
- 1:37:29so many times you there. Only so many different times and
- 1:37:33so many different ways you can say that Joe Biden or really any
- 1:37:37politician for that matter. As a fuck up before the out
- 1:37:41before the audience. And I find myself saying to, you
- 1:37:44know, whenever I was in do is put a podcast where it's like,
- 1:37:47yeah, we know that, you know, by nuns and bad, you know, present
- 1:37:52are, you know, and it's kind It kind of gets repetitive and
- 1:37:56politics, you know, well, it's the same thing in like video
- 1:38:00game video game, YouTube sphere, you know, people can bash a game
- 1:38:05into the fucking sun and back but like at a point is just you.
- 1:38:09You can talk about a bad game and its development and how it's
- 1:38:12bad. But you're only going to be able
- 1:38:13to milk so much out of that topic.
- 1:38:15Yeah, but I'm a amazingly. I care about you.
- 1:38:19You can, you can talk about Final Fantasy seven four, four
- 1:38:22hours or or how I can't say any of the contents nutritious.
- 1:38:28So which one is it that? You absolutely absolutely.
- 1:38:33Hey, it's seven. It's seven, right?
- 1:38:38No, I don't solutely hate. 7i shit.
- 1:38:43You're probably all this water. I feel Very love-hate with
- 1:38:46seven. I have a very, very love-hate
- 1:38:49with seven. Um, I can see the good out of
- 1:38:53all of the final fantasies but a lot of them have some problems.
- 1:38:57I hate, I hate what 7 has become in terms of a mass marketing
- 1:39:03tool and and mobile brand recognition status tool.
- 1:39:08So just like So you have the same problem with the fight with
- 1:39:13the Final Fantasy franchise that I have with Rockstar Games in
- 1:39:18general, where it's like my problem with my problem with
- 1:39:22rock stars. They have so many great gaming
- 1:39:25franchises besides Grand Theft Auto like, like red dead, and
- 1:39:30Max Payne, for instance. But for whatever reason, I
- 1:39:33always decide to go back. And I mean I kind of get I get
- 1:39:38that GTA is the flagship and Hard.
- 1:39:41But it's like, even so you do You have so many other great
- 1:39:48franchises that you do absolutely nothing with or
- 1:39:52really do anything with that. Is my problem with Square Enix
- 1:39:57is, the companies I treat the Square Enix problem different
- 1:40:00from the Final Fantasy problem. And I treat the Final Fantasy
- 1:40:03problem different from, but as a result of the Final Fantasy 7
- 1:40:06problem, So, you and I have the same problem problem, with,
- 1:40:12with, oh my eye, it's kind of, it's, I mean, don't get me
- 1:40:16wrong. I have problem with many, many
- 1:40:18video, game companies fucking who doesn't have to, but it is
- 1:40:21sort of the same thing where I hate what Final Fantasy 7 has
- 1:40:25become because it's become this nostalgic Cash Cow lean on IP
- 1:40:31where they can just make something and it'll just sell
- 1:40:35top dollar hand over fist. Meanwhile, the main franchise of
- 1:40:38Final Fantasy He suffers the side games of Final Fantasy
- 1:40:42suffer and they all just end up as fucking the same kind of
- 1:40:46gotcha, gambling role-playing games.
- 1:40:49Are ya, gambling, fucking RPG, simulators.
- 1:40:55It comes from that. You have all these IPS you have
- 1:40:59things you could do. You could be creative again, you
- 1:41:01choose not to Final Fantasy. The whole reason Square Enix is
- 1:41:05a float is because of Final Fantasy, 14, as the only reason
- 1:41:09that this company has any fucking money to do anything
- 1:41:12with at all is because somehow they stumble and having the
- 1:41:16biggest MMORPG in the world and they have squandered it, they
- 1:41:19put nothing much back in ff14 and to the point that even with
- 1:41:23all that money being made, Because of incompetence and
- 1:41:27management on the board level, after CEO changes in and such of
- 1:41:31the nature. They had nothing in the pipeline
- 1:41:33creatively to do for Final Fantasy 15.
- 1:41:36So they pulled an in stasis project, pulled the director off
- 1:41:40of it. Gave it to a new guy told him.
- 1:41:42Rewrite it, reformat it! Fit it up, get it shit out in
- 1:41:46three years. By the way, while you're making
- 1:41:49the game, develop the engine. At the same time, three years
- 1:41:52go. Do you want it results in a bad
- 1:41:58product? Oh Yeah.
- 1:42:03Well my other problem with the gaming industry and the tech
- 1:42:08industry really in general is The idea of subscription based
- 1:42:16gaming and subscription based software.
- 1:42:21So I I don't know. Do you, do you have any of the
- 1:42:26art? Are you wanting those snobby PC
- 1:42:32Gamers or you, one of those PC Gamers as like consoles as well
- 1:42:36or some? Okay, all right, fucking little
- 1:42:41will. We'll go in.
- 1:42:43All right, I have, I have a gaming PC.
- 1:42:46It is the third gaming PC I've made in my lifetime.
- 1:42:52Since I was 16, I have to PlayStation ones, both are
- 1:42:58chipped and colored clear colored cases with storage
- 1:43:01extras. I have purple black, clear,
- 1:43:03orange and blue, PS1 cases. I have a Japanese PS2 with a
- 1:43:07custom flip-top for swap magic, and swapping region.
- 1:43:11Play discs. Hooked up with my games running
- 1:43:15over ethernet to it. While also soft modded off of a
- 1:43:19unique memory card. Playstation 3 is custom
- 1:43:22firmware. So I could do a replay Metal
- 1:43:27Gear online, 2, I have a PS4 which I bought for death
- 1:43:31stranding and then that came to PCC.
- 1:43:33So I hacked it for fucking PT, and blood-borne, Alpha, and
- 1:43:36this, that, and the other I hacked the fucking switch.
- 1:43:39I have my Super Nintendo still. I have my 2nd SS, Well, I have
- 1:43:42my Game Boy Color. My God, wonderswan color.
- 1:43:46I have my Vita, my 3DS, I have, I have everything because I like
- 1:43:51I grew up on consoles and I don't I don't particularly care
- 1:43:57that much for emulators. They're okay.
- 1:43:59They're great. When you want to just play
- 1:44:01something and you don't have it or it's not easy but nothing
- 1:44:04beats a feel of the authentic media.
- 1:44:07So, but now I'm gaming PC is kind of beef tour was for point.
- 1:44:12Aunt, I do enjoy PC game. I think PC gaming is kind of
- 1:44:16superior as a result consoles, kind of getting better with mods
- 1:44:19and things like that and possibility.
- 1:44:21But obviously they just can't compete but I respect both for
- 1:44:24what they do. Each have a purpose function and
- 1:44:27form and if the hardware has good software, Boom the yes.
- 1:44:33Sorry for that long winded. No, no, no, no.
- 1:44:37But you, but you, okay. So you have a as for now, the
- 1:44:44reason I ask is because So, I have a PS5, but I do not have a
- 1:44:53PlayStation Plus subscription and Italian in order to play
- 1:45:00multiplayer games, you need a, you need to, you need a PS Plus
- 1:45:07subscription, right? And the same way that you need
- 1:45:10Xbox Live for Xbox and switches thing for switch.
- 1:45:17Are they are Nintendo's service Force, which sorry?
- 1:45:21And to be honest and to be honest like that, type of shit.
- 1:45:24Drive me crazy because it's a scam, it's like yeah, yes, I was
- 1:45:31like all the net codes peer-to-peer Yeah, yeah,
- 1:45:36completely. So yeah and it's like well we
- 1:45:40did we didn't we didn't need these subscriptions to get to
- 1:45:44peer-to-peer, you know, multiplayer games like, you
- 1:45:47know, even five years ago, like this is, this is a brand new
- 1:45:52thing and the fact that games now have like the token-based
- 1:45:57have like the same like, you know, transaction-based, you
- 1:46:02know, shit. You can buy just like in mobile
- 1:46:04game. That pisses me off too.
- 1:46:08Oh yeah. It's just like, it's just like
- 1:46:13fuck why? It's it's it's because our
- 1:46:17Market it's because the industry got to fucking big honestly.
- 1:46:24It. it's it's a thing that that is something that people also
- 1:46:30should have raged about but because gamergate was more about
- 1:46:38kind of Politics and ideology we happily kind of ignored bad
- 1:46:44business practices. I remember when DLC first
- 1:46:48started coming out, people hated it.
- 1:46:49People were fine with expansion packs, it was DLC.
- 1:46:53And at some point, it's, I guess with the mobile market in the
- 1:46:56mobile market. Moving into eventually consoles
- 1:46:58and games and influencing that market as a install base.
- 1:47:04Eventually the practices of the gotcha and shit and the rule X,
- 1:47:08and loot boxes, came into the rest of everything.
- 1:47:13I mean, TF2 had the best intentions when they did it and,
- 1:47:18and to their credit Team Fortress 2 in Counter Strike, go
- 1:47:21work because the cases are given to you, it's its own weird,
- 1:47:27self-esteem nning economy where money is Flowing between people,
- 1:47:31and there's money to me, you might spend money but you can
- 1:47:33make some And yes, same thing with RuneScape back in the day
- 1:47:40room. Yay, I used to play RuneScape
- 1:47:45back in the day. Was only like there was a free
- 1:47:49version. You could do like massive stuff,
- 1:47:51you know on but then like if you wanted to pay it was literally
- 1:47:58just five bucks a month and that was it.
- 1:48:01And you could get like And you could basically get like a whole
- 1:48:05bunch more shit for, you know, for dirt cheap basically.
- 1:48:10Yeah. And yeah.
- 1:48:16And I'm like that was the way things.
- 1:48:19That was the that was the way things used to be.
- 1:48:21And now it's like and I mean yeah.
- 1:48:24In Ruins came had its own in-game economy.
- 1:48:28We're like, yeah, you you basically, there was any way
- 1:48:32that you could buy at advantages like you just, you know, you
- 1:48:37made money in the in-game economy and that was it, and it
- 1:48:40was all, it was all cosmetics. Yeah.
- 1:48:44Right. Which I think made it rain.
- 1:48:46In tf2's case it was like some gameplay changes and things like
- 1:48:49that, but it started as cosmetics and nothing that would
- 1:48:51would change, game player, balance it, and now, yeah.
- 1:48:57And now and now you've got like, what was the Diablo, something
- 1:49:02from mobile? Where, like someone I heard, do
- 1:49:05ya like close to, like forty thousand dollars, twenty Thirty
- 1:49:11forty thousand dollars some some crazy.
- 1:49:13Crazy amount. And he didn't get any rare items
- 1:49:15or poles or whatever it was. Jesus.
- 1:49:19Yeah. Like I mean it's gambling.
- 1:49:22It's at the end of the day, it's gambling but there's it's two
- 1:49:29forms, it's either gambling. That helps you get better, which
- 1:49:32then your incentivised to gamble.
- 1:49:33And it's obviously, a way more predatory tactic of, well, you
- 1:49:37can get better the game. If you play this gambling
- 1:49:39gaming, give us money, and it'll give you'll see the results.
- 1:49:42And then there's just a gambling of.
- 1:49:43Oh, I have this obsessive compulsive disorder.
- 1:49:46I want all these skins. There's my favorite.
- 1:49:48Much right roll. It is just it's just slots.
- 1:49:50It's just fucking slots. Yeah well and also I mean I was
- 1:49:56talking to a friend about this to with like Call of Duty and
- 1:50:00whatnot. I kind of feel like cod and
- 1:50:02other first-person shooter games, kind of got ruined
- 1:50:08because in multiplayer, always like, I remember you used to
- 1:50:11have to like, actually, like what we do up to my, you get
- 1:50:15certain guns and, like play matches.
- 1:50:17And now I Don't feel too. Yeah.
- 1:50:20And now if I and now if like and now if you're rich enough her,
- 1:50:24let's be honest, if you if your if your Daddy has a high enough
- 1:50:28credit card you can just buy all the Weaponry from like you know,
- 1:50:32whichever console stroll or Let me take the hot take on that
- 1:50:38one. I hate that fucking system.
- 1:50:40I hate the FBS level of them to to hell and back.
- 1:50:44I, I would rather kind of be happier to just buy something.
- 1:50:49Depending on how much the core game is to just have all the
- 1:50:52shit. I want unlocked, that would be
- 1:50:54fucking lovely. Because I fucking for weapons
- 1:50:58for, like, gameplay tools, you know, that's that irks me.
- 1:51:04Right? No.
- 1:51:05Yeah I do. I hear you.
- 1:51:08I hear you. I what I hear what you're
- 1:51:09saying, right? I agree with you completely.
- 1:51:14But then, that's the problem because like, if basically,
- 1:51:17they're making it so hard that you have to buy shit.
- 1:51:21But then like, what's just say, for whatever reason, someone
- 1:51:25can't spend the extra money because they've already spent
- 1:51:28money on the console, which isn't that, you know, let's
- 1:51:32face, that's not cheap but console is, you know, still
- 1:51:36money. She's been that you spend money
- 1:51:39on, you know, on the game and what not, right.
- 1:51:45So if you can't afford the extra, you know, DLC shit, and
- 1:51:49you have to play it. Well then you know it's kind of
- 1:51:54unfair Advantage. Whereas like you know, what was
- 1:51:59at least make things easier so that like it's more.
- 1:52:05Equal, I guess or equal opportunity at least.
- 1:52:11So the thing is is like it was it was better than the system we
- 1:52:15have now because okay, at least everyone could do it and then if
- 1:52:18they wanted, they could Prestige or whatever, right?
- 1:52:21Um, and it's a microcosm, it was many different things, all the
- 1:52:25fuck it once it was stuff that was locked on disk, it was stuff
- 1:52:28that you could unlock. So it was stuff, you couldn't
- 1:52:30unlock and It. It got to that point, where it
- 1:52:35affected, how I felt about video games in general, where I was
- 1:52:43like, okay, I'm not really a fan of Battle Royale games, but I'll
- 1:52:47try the Final Fantasy 7 one because I like the lore and the
- 1:52:51aesthetic. And let's see what it's about
- 1:52:53and I play it. And it's got a season pass, and
- 1:52:56it's got a premium store and it's got money to sell you to
- 1:52:59buy these costumes. And It's all costumes and skins
- 1:53:03and everything. So it's, it's And then you play
- 1:53:06it and it's just a battle royale game.
- 1:53:08It's got some cool mechanics and cool features.
- 1:53:10I hate that it's only on mobile because I don't do that.
- 1:53:13I don't play games like that. I want on a fucking PC or
- 1:53:16console at least and I just dropped the game because there's
- 1:53:20nothing. I would just play it for playing
- 1:53:23wanting to enjoy. Playing a battle royale game,
- 1:53:25I'm not going to try and grind out a season pass for Cosmetics
- 1:53:29or tickets to do a gambling wheel.
- 1:53:32I don't feel motivation how that I'm not going to go do these
- 1:53:34checklist like I Word. That, that is the current state
- 1:53:37of Halo, actually, not that long ago that Halo is all about.
- 1:53:42People, not even caring who wins the games.
- 1:53:45Everyone is just going to go do their little checklists and
- 1:53:48play, whatever way instead of playing to win because they want
- 1:53:51to get farther in their, in their fucking, in their season
- 1:53:57pass. And it was like, I remember when
- 1:54:00the game was about winning or losing and playing your best.
- 1:54:05Yeah. Now I so speaking of mobile game
- 1:54:10in what and what not, this is, this is what's weird, right?
- 1:54:13So, when I was a, when I was a kid, I saved up like my one of
- 1:54:21my first major purchases like when I was in Middle School,
- 1:54:25that I saved up like all my birthday money.
- 1:54:28All my Christmas money. All Allowance money or was the
- 1:54:32original PlayStation Portable? Oh, I forgot.
- 1:54:38I have a modded PSP to the. Can't forget that.
- 1:54:41I'm a final things. I've been peace.
- 1:54:45No I forgot. I love my PSP so much.
- 1:54:50Oh dude. So if you were a kid growing up
- 1:54:54in the in the mid odds, right? We don't have, we have smart.
- 1:54:59Phones that did everything. So the PSP was the everything
- 1:55:04device. Well well yeah, I mean so you
- 1:55:09had three devices, right? You had your PSP, you had your
- 1:55:15iPod and most yeah, kids had like flip phones or something
- 1:55:19like and though, you have three devices that you just never left
- 1:55:24home home without right and and what was cool but about the PSP
- 1:55:29was you can like, theoretically play games for hours of like the
- 1:55:34course multiple days. Has the batter would just last
- 1:55:38for hours, right? Yeah.
- 1:55:41And and nobody wants in see like I missed, I actually never got
- 1:55:47the PS Vita, but that was only because like, I basically wore
- 1:55:50my PSP into the ground base. Yeah.
- 1:55:55Well I'll say this like II there were points where I would take
- 1:55:59the phone and the iPod and the wallet or whatever.
- 1:56:02But dude, one side the I can be a sphere.
- 1:56:05Just use the PSP for the music device again because I didn't
- 1:56:10use that. Store that much music on it
- 1:56:12anyway. So yeah.
- 1:56:16Yeah. I know that, that that's a fair
- 1:56:17point, but, like, I mean, I guess I was doing research
- 1:56:22because I was going to see if like Sonia had, like, an
- 1:56:26upcoming like, you know, like a handheld and apparently, they
- 1:56:32stopped making them all together, which I might've
- 1:56:36eaten. Got, cut short video got caught
- 1:56:38way short. It did not get the sport needed
- 1:56:40as a system. It was another bout of the PS3
- 1:56:46Sony and competence era. Was I mean didn't you just
- 1:56:52because like well what was interesting was like I because
- 1:56:56like I remember like so I remember what the PSP like
- 1:57:00everyone had one. Once again.
- 1:57:03Yeah, we'll take him out and I was one of the first, like early
- 1:57:06adapters to to get it right. Because like I I I remember, I
- 1:57:12remember hearing about it when it was in development, right?
- 1:57:16Like back in like 2005. And then when it when it came
- 1:57:20out, like two years later like I was one of the first people in
- 1:57:22line. Yeah.
- 1:57:24That at the Target store to get it.
- 1:57:26Right. So I remember hearing about it
- 1:57:27on on X-Play back in 2003 and they were the early claims of
- 1:57:32eight might be able to do portable, PS2 style games.
- 1:57:37Yeah. The early.
- 1:57:49I remember the early PSP games. You can do open-world goddamn,
- 1:57:53did they get, you know, pretty close to doing?
- 1:57:55Oh well, I mean as, as they developed on the system, they
- 1:57:59really learn to master it. And that's why Liberty City
- 1:58:02Stories and vice city. Stories are such a good games on
- 1:58:04that system. Yeah.
- 1:58:06But I mean I guess so the bsp had like a really great wife
- 1:58:10cycle and then the PS Vita. Basically, I got no wife swore.
- 1:58:16I get, I guess my problem is Is now is like, everyone's like, oh
- 1:58:20well everyone just has phones and, you know, and people game
- 1:58:24on the current. Well, the problem with the
- 1:58:26problem with that is like, I'm sorry, even if you have, even if
- 1:58:29you have a flagship iPhone, or a flagship, Android phones are not
- 1:58:34deserve most phones. I should say, are not designed
- 1:58:38to be like fully functioning gaming, machines and cl phones,
- 1:58:43because the it's a heated issue, you need a gaming phone, if you
- 1:58:46want to do serious game, Yeah. Something with an extra fan to
- 1:58:51cool it off and power settings and wattages and all that shit.
- 1:58:55Yeah, so if you if you use your iPhone for gaming like even on,
- 1:59:01even unlike the 13 Promax, or, you know, whatever the flagship
- 1:59:05is that you're going to kill your battery pretty fast.
- 1:59:08If you do any sort of like, you know, long-term you know,
- 1:59:13getting other than like maybe pulling out, you know, Tetris or
- 1:59:16something while you're waiting for cop.
- 1:59:18Or something like that. But like, my point being is
- 1:59:21like, I just don't get why gaming companies stopped making
- 1:59:25portable consoles because it seems like there could still be
- 1:59:29a mark out there for that. But for what reason everyone
- 1:59:33just assumes that you know, Gamers just use don't phones as
- 1:59:37well. I can tell you that I can tell
- 1:59:39you the actual reason. You one of the actual reason,
- 1:59:44why Nintendo? Nintendo dominated the early,
- 1:59:53handheld seen when PSP stepped in the ring.
- 1:59:56It was some offering something that they weren't doing.
- 1:59:59It was offering really competent. 3D better than anyone
- 2:00:02else out there, because it were, there were remember there was
- 2:00:05the engage and there were other hand held at the time and then
- 2:00:13the second died. So Sega wasn't going to be
- 2:00:15making the Game Gear to or whatever.
- 2:00:19And then the DS came out and the DS, kind of had this cool unique
- 2:00:23feature but the graphics weren't as great as it PSP.
- 2:00:26The PSP was also a media machine and then the 3DS came out and it
- 2:00:33started to strangle, hold on, not only the DS Market, what was
- 2:00:39left of the Gameboy Market, but this new market, it was creating
- 2:00:44it had the Pokemons. It had all this All these
- 2:00:50Flagship games. Mario Karts, and all that, and
- 2:00:53PSP had a lot of games that have the stuff but as they went into
- 2:00:59the PSP era or I'm sorry, the PS Vita era competing with the 3DS,
- 2:01:05still in the new 3DS and all everything it did.
- 2:01:09The slot. The, the games were not.
- 2:01:17Supporting the system they had like Call of Duty, dad Marvel,
- 2:01:20they didn't have anything that was like, killer apps that like
- 2:01:24mastered and utilized the system super well.
- 2:01:27And the touchscreen. It was kind of gimmicky but, you
- 2:01:31know, it you could do things with it.
- 2:01:32But there was no, it was lacking.
- 2:01:34The multiplayer style, massive phenomenon games and Sony
- 2:01:38doesn't have the IP for because Pokemons a big fucking franchise
- 2:01:44and Pokemons only hong-won. system Mark Mario Kart big
- 2:01:50franchise because of the we and it crosses over because if you
- 2:01:54like Mario Kart on the Wii and you have a we probably have a
- 2:01:57fucking DS or 3DS and that has somewhere card, you can play
- 2:02:02that but you play Moberly it was the catalog and lack of Support
- 2:02:11from first party in Sony to really get good games.
- 2:02:15I'm not saying there weren't good games.
- 2:02:17There were absolutely fantastic games on the Vita but the the
- 2:02:21kind of things that it needed to really Hold strong with and on
- 2:02:27top of it. It was a hacked system.
- 2:02:30They it was, it was hacked early, it was hacked off.
- 2:02:33And just like the PSP and yeah, they sold, but it really starts
- 2:02:38to have an effect. Now, don't get me.
- 2:02:39Wrong 3DS's, were pirated to hell and back with, what would
- 2:02:42the are for carts? Yeah, that but it was ultimately
- 2:02:48the final switch was Well, it was a partially we then we you,
- 2:02:57and we was this hybrid of kind of portable, kind of knot and
- 2:03:00seeing how it receptive and the handheld was still going, but
- 2:03:03then the switch happened. And the switch.
- 2:03:09Was. Undeniably.
- 2:03:15Going to dominate the handheld Market.
- 2:03:17Yeah, because it wasn't only a good hand held with good
- 2:03:20graphics. You could plug it into your TV
- 2:03:23like a regular console. Ya know that, that was that.
- 2:03:28I mean, I will admit I haven't what I've only played around
- 2:03:31with like the switch hat store and like, I will admit that,
- 2:03:36that's impressive. I am opening like something does
- 2:03:40come out with something like that in the future, that that's
- 2:03:44what. Do with, you know, with the PS5.
- 2:03:48I I do know that like you can kind of remote play some some of
- 2:03:55the games of like a with like an app on your phone, but again.
- 2:03:58Yeah, that good still Wireless or sisters input lag.
- 2:04:04Yeah, so I don't think they will also because it's the PS5 and
- 2:04:12this may be a little controversial, say the PS5 is
- 2:04:15PS3 too. It is a testament to the ego and
- 2:04:20hubris of Sony because they got cocky with the PS4.
- 2:04:26And the only reason they fucking dominated with the PS4 is
- 2:04:30because Xbox shit the fucking bed.
- 2:04:35Yeah, also he had to do was go, hey, guys, here's how you let
- 2:04:41other friends. Play your games on PlayStation
- 2:04:43and he just hands him the fucking game done.
- 2:04:46Mic drop. That's it.
- 2:04:48You win the gym. Everyone called it.
- 2:04:49They've won the generation and they fucking did.
- 2:04:53And they thought just because they did the normal shit because
- 2:04:55they were Have some digital rights bullshit like that or
- 2:04:58always online Xbox One first. They saw how it was going to go
- 2:05:01and they fucking nixed it hours before Sony is just as bad as
- 2:05:06any fucking one else, but a lot of it, what's carried them is
- 2:05:11eye peas and exclusives to an extent.
- 2:05:16The exclusivity deals with like Call of Duty help.
- 2:05:18A lot things like that. Only baseball games only being
- 2:05:21on PS4 was another big thing. Oh really Why I did not know
- 2:05:27that. Yeah, I know I worked at
- 2:05:29GameStop during that era during the associate Dean release era.
- 2:05:33Only baseball games are on PS4 see just to kind of okay so my
- 2:05:38gaming timeline was so, my gaming timeline was honestly
- 2:05:44like I had I had the PS1 I had the PS2 Oh, oh boy.
- 2:05:55Oh boy. Connection errors.
- 2:06:00Oh dear. Are we we still live chat?
- 2:06:07Oh, dear. Are we still alive?
- 2:06:09I wonder if he goes down to, I go down with him.
- 2:06:13That's the question that I am asking chat right now because I
- 2:06:17have no clue. Let me check the stream and
- 2:06:21check the health of the stream and see if it's live.
- 2:06:24Oh, no. I think we're spinning.
- 2:06:28I think we're spending, are we spending?
- 2:06:31Oh dear. No, we're not.
- 2:06:35We're not, we're not, we're not, we're good.
- 2:06:36Okay, so while I figure out a way to stall until my co-host
- 2:06:44returns. Yeah.
- 2:06:46Fuck it. Let's let's, let's rip on Square
- 2:06:50Enix in their bullshit for a minute, chat.
- 2:06:51Shall we? How you doing?
- 2:06:53My name is zsakeba. I'm from a little city called
- 2:06:56insomnia and the kingdom of lusus, you can find that world
- 2:07:00Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy 15, obviously.
- 2:07:04Franchise near and dear to me and God damn it.
- 2:07:07There's a Japanese company that doesn't want me to enjoy it.
- 2:07:15Oh, oh my God, we're back. No, I'm a part of the.
- 2:07:17Oh my God. Okay, I was just about to Grand
- 2:07:19Final Fantasy saved everybody. Thank you for that.
- 2:07:22Yeah, I know sorry about that much.
- 2:07:24So as most people know I love, I love by an airport in Florida
- 2:07:30and I'm trying to talk my own location but you know they're a
- 2:07:34couple airports in sport and for whatever reason he reason even
- 2:07:38though it's 1 a.m. here on airplane just flew over and yeah
- 2:07:42that'll do it. God damn.
- 2:07:46That is some rough living. And I mean, it's, it's actually
- 2:07:51the one bandage is like, as far as Studios go for podcasting, my
- 2:07:56room is nice because we have soundproof glass, which
- 2:07:59basically means. Yeah.
- 2:08:01That like a lot of, you know, that like a lot of the
- 2:08:06soundproofing that I would need for Studio already comes kind of
- 2:08:09built in with the house so that's nice.
- 2:08:12That's not too bad, that's not too bad.
- 2:08:15Gasps. Oh no.
- 2:08:16I got so I got to the point where you were saying I was I
- 2:08:20was starting to explain basically like I I've had all
- 2:08:25the PlayStation consoles, except for the four and pretty much the
- 2:08:30only reason why I never had a forwards because my life
- 2:08:33basically just got too busy for gaming.
- 2:08:37Yeah, it happens. So like now that I have the PS5
- 2:08:41it's interesting because hey I'm and Ivan and in the rare
- 2:08:44category. But now you are so like I've
- 2:08:47been, I've been playing, I've been playing catch-up for, you
- 2:08:52know, ironically with like all the PS4 games that I missed.
- 2:08:58So, and also what's your theory on why the PS5 is because like
- 2:09:05the one Curtis might one criticism I do have with the S5
- 2:09:10ironically is that because no one else has it like or you know
- 2:09:15because A few people have it like none of my friends can play
- 2:09:19honors, you know? Yeah or some awesome.
- 2:09:23Okay, so what was that? Just another covid thing or what
- 2:09:29happened there? Um, I think it's a little of
- 2:09:33column, a column B. I think there were probably some
- 2:09:37sorta judge problems, there tend to be a console launches and of
- 2:09:43course, covid certainly didn't help anything in the The
- 2:09:45transistor shortage certainly didn't help anything. but the
- 2:09:51problem is, is that Even whether or not it was artificially
- 2:09:57created scarcity. It you the scarcity only works
- 2:10:06if there's really good stuff that people want to play.
- 2:10:11Yeah, and exclusives are important, not for the console's
- 2:10:16lifespan, but more so for launch because those are what help
- 2:10:22really move the hardware. It's I mean I've been getting
- 2:10:31emails like, oh, here's your invitation to come by a PS5 from
- 2:10:34like no. Thanks.
- 2:10:36I'm good. Not not at that price.
- 2:10:39That's because and I think that's why I met this weird
- 2:10:46place with exclusive now where the only reason why I still have
- 2:10:51consoles, I think to an extent is because there are certain
- 2:10:55games. You just can't easily replay on.
- 2:10:58It's not been ported or anything like that or they were console
- 2:11:02exclusive like Metal Gear, Solid, 4 and things like that or
- 2:11:06blood-borne like bloodborne's PS4.
- 2:11:08You can't play blood-borne on peasy.
- 2:11:10It's just I mean you can stream it but then you have some input
- 2:11:14latency lagaathaar by using PS now and then you don't get Of
- 2:11:19the DLC and the DLC is some of the best content in the game.
- 2:11:24Yeah. Like my PS4 was bought Because I
- 2:11:29had moved in with a dude, I had met on Craigslist, and he had a
- 2:11:33PS4 and I said, hey, man, there's this game that's like,
- 2:11:37coming out that kind of excited for you.
- 2:11:39Think I could maybe, like, use your PS4, somehow, I'll give you
- 2:11:4220, 30 40, fucking box, or by my fucking beer, whatever.
- 2:11:45It's like, yeah, man were so obviously it was he used my TV
- 2:11:51on his PS4 was hooked up. He has his TV in his room so I
- 2:11:56use that to play Blood. Because blood-borne was one of
- 2:12:00the games. I really want to play on PS4 and
- 2:12:03I fell in love, right? I fell in hard love and then
- 2:12:08death stranding came out. and, Just ranting was fantastic.
- 2:12:17I fell in love with this friending.
- 2:12:18I think it's a masterpiece of a game.
- 2:12:21That's not for everyone. But that then went to PS do that
- 2:12:27then went to BC so fuck. Okay.
- 2:12:29Should you got the extended directors?
- 2:12:31Got on on PS 52, but for me, At that point, then the PS4 really
- 2:12:38only became it went from being a blood-borne death, stranding
- 2:12:42machine, kind of a Final Fantasy 7.
- 2:12:49What did what is part remake Final Fantasy 7 remake machine.
- 2:12:54But that I played remake and I don't want ever touch it again.
- 2:12:57Des training came out on PC, so it's back to being a blood-borne
- 2:13:01machine. And then came the opportunity to
- 2:13:04hack it. And I'm like well.
- 2:13:08I do kind of like playing blood-borne online but the stuff
- 2:13:12I can get from Act V as for so much better.
- 2:13:15So, I got the blood-borne Alpha. I got the Eldon ring Network
- 2:13:18test. I got PT out of it.
- 2:13:20I there is nothing for me to want to be part of the Sony
- 2:13:24ecosystem, other than one game and for a console, I would hope
- 2:13:29that's not the case. And it's weird because I never
- 2:13:34thought in my life, I would like, I would only go back when
- 2:13:37the Wii U is coming out. People will call it the
- 2:13:39Bayonetta box because Bayo 2 is on it, or they would call the
- 2:13:42Xbox One. The Killer Instinct box?
- 2:13:46Yeah. Then I found myself in that
- 2:13:48position and it's kind of that same thing.
- 2:13:51Now, where, And there were games, like slept on, like the
- 2:13:55PS4 Ratchet and Clank game and stuff like that.
- 2:13:58But with the PS5, I look at it. And we've been God, what?
- 2:14:02Over a year now of release. Yeah, well, over a year of
- 2:14:06release, the only games I can think of are Ratchet and Clank.
- 2:14:11Demon Souls remastered. and, Is there another exclusive PS5
- 2:14:19game? Yeah, there are.
- 2:14:24There are there are a few actually or there are few there
- 2:14:28are few that aren't out yet but they're coming up.
- 2:14:31So my favorite title and this was originally why I really
- 2:14:35wanted over. He has for was insomniacs
- 2:14:40Spider-Man which was fuck. Oh my God, I'm so stupid.
- 2:14:44Yeah yeah. and a And, you know, and a gaming them, like holy
- 2:14:59shit, like the the the the version of Spider-Man that they
- 2:15:05have on the PlayStation is what they needed, is what they needed
- 2:15:10to do with Spider-Man. In the end in the MCU, I'm sorry
- 2:15:15to the MCU fans out there, but like the PS4 Spider-Man is so
- 2:15:21much better as a character than the MCU it It's one of the best
- 2:15:26Peter Parker's. It's one of the best brokers
- 2:15:29easy and, and I loved Spiderman going back to the first PS1
- 2:15:33game. Oh, yeah.
- 2:15:35Now, that was where I got started with Spider-Man games.
- 2:15:37I fucking love that. Yes.
- 2:15:40Well, and that was the other thing was like, those games are
- 2:15:43all actually based on the comics, not based on.
- 2:15:46I mean, technically, yes, I know the movies are also based on the
- 2:15:49comics but like, for a while, the Spider-Man games were just
- 2:15:53only based on the movie, it was Pre movie.
- 2:15:56It was, it was, it was pre her first taste of Tobey Maguire
- 2:16:00Spider-Man. Yeah.
- 2:16:01Well, and then that will and then that was the other thing
- 2:16:04back in the day to was like, you never wanted to play the video
- 2:16:07game until you saw the movie because the the game would
- 2:16:12spoil. The retail, the movie?
- 2:16:14Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:16:17But but now like I remember I remember like, I want to get a
- 2:16:23PS4 at the time so I could play spider an exclusively.
- 2:16:26That was that was another exclusive and when it was an
- 2:16:30exclusive it was one of the best on the system.
- 2:16:33I agree. Yeah.
- 2:16:35Oh wait. It's not exclusive anymore.
- 2:16:38It's coming to PC. Oh and Miles Morales.
- 2:16:43Well, Well yeah, II, although I think I think Spider-Man 2
- 2:16:52because they're coming out with Spider-Man.
- 2:16:54Oh, you know. Yeah, Spider-Man it might it
- 2:16:58might be, it might be a console launch, exclusive first.
- 2:17:02Yes, like ff7 was Aha. But like my I wanted it.
- 2:17:14I wanted a PS4. And then looking at the price it
- 2:17:16was like, well, I might as well wait for a PS5 because they're
- 2:17:20basically the same price in this one is newer, which is weird
- 2:17:25because I was like, I was like, oh, great, I'll wait for
- 2:17:28everyone to get a PS5 and then I was gonna get like a I'll just
- 2:17:31got PS4 all and only be one generation behind, but then it
- 2:17:35Like, nope. You might have like that the new
- 2:17:38console because it's the same price as the The old one, which
- 2:17:45is fear. So it's yeah.
- 2:17:50So nice just bad about so he's just bad business.
- 2:17:53Sometimes. What can I say?
- 2:17:55Well it's well that's kind of point though is from what I've
- 2:17:59kind of gathered coming back to gaming.
- 2:18:01After all these years, it kind of seems like maybe entire
- 2:18:04gaming industry. It seems like far as large as
- 2:18:08the gaming industry, is the entire thing has kind of shit
- 2:18:11the bed. Almost I mean, that's the only
- 2:18:17one. What has it is been 10 to?
- 2:18:18I mean, the tendo's Nintendo on that fucking scumbag yahooza,
- 2:18:22basically, but there they have a very high install base and very
- 2:18:29high player base. Their fans are rabid.
- 2:18:32They are loyal, they have massive exclusives.
- 2:18:35You can only get on the system and it moves the consoles, and
- 2:18:38people play these games together and they want to get in on it
- 2:18:41and it's that old. The thing is Is to is because
- 2:18:45think of it, like this couch Co-op.
- 2:18:47Barely exists for PS, PlayStation and Xbox.
- 2:18:51Right. Barely exists.
- 2:18:53Yeah, you you can't be, you really can't.
- 2:18:56Because again, P2P now requires PS plus, which pisses me off.
- 2:19:01But, yeah, that's a. So, let me, let me rephrase you
- 2:19:06then in the ways that the young ones, may not know exactly how
- 2:19:10it was for us, but those on Nintendo still do.
- 2:19:13Because the switch is a portable system, so they take out, they
- 2:19:17play Pokemon locally with their friends in person, they play
- 2:19:21games over local co-op in person, they cook up multiple
- 2:19:25controllers to one fucking screen and play next to each
- 2:19:28other. There is something within
- 2:19:30Nintendo that has been able to find that market of the cross
- 2:19:36between gameplay and person as well as a semi Shady network
- 2:19:40service. But each set They still support
- 2:19:45communication. So you know, you have all these
- 2:19:49kids who they fucking play Monster Hunter on their switch,
- 2:19:53or they play Pokemon on their switch and they play with each
- 2:19:55other at school and all this and You get that much higher install
- 2:20:01base, then you would with a PS4 or Xbox because there's more on
- 2:20:07top of the portability and things like that.
- 2:20:10Yeah, there. Yeah, there was something
- 2:20:12something needed to be said, for all for all that man, so can
- 2:20:16argue that I'd say, and that's the only reason why I think they
- 2:20:20aren't shitting. The bed, is that they've they've
- 2:20:22still got that that edge to them because PS4 or PSN and Xbox are
- 2:20:27just getting. So, So close to PCS now that it
- 2:20:31and with Studios releasing stuff on PC.
- 2:20:34Well, you know, Xbox with the game pass and PS4 with their, or
- 2:20:38Playstation with their PC development studio.
- 2:20:42Now, I don't know how the markets going to look for those
- 2:20:47two Nintendo's going to be doing in 10.
- 2:20:49Do I don't know about. What's what's weird though?
- 2:20:53Also with like PC releases is like And maybe it's not the case
- 2:20:59now. But like, I remember when I was
- 2:21:00a kid and even just like, a few years ago, like like if you buy
- 2:21:04game for PC, like more often than not, they were, they were
- 2:21:09notoriously broken. Like a prime example was as we
- 2:21:13talked about a few weeks ago. Well, I mean This may be kind of
- 2:21:19a bad example, because the game was just broken overall, but
- 2:21:23cyberpunk 2049 was Brooke was just stroking.
- 2:21:28Wait, which one over? Cyberpunk 2049.
- 2:21:33You mean 2077? Yeah.
- 2:21:35Oh yeah, 2077. So I'm thinking.
- 2:21:38Okay, I was thinking about thinking of the stupid white
- 2:21:41Runner sequel. Oh yeah.
- 2:21:43Yeah the paper. We do a cyberpunk red goddamn.
- 2:21:50Let's do it. Oh shit.
- 2:21:54That that game was selectively broken.
- 2:21:56I put in over 110 hours. I love that game.
- 2:21:59It's one of my favorite games of all.
- 2:22:00Him and it was not broken for me at all.
- 2:22:04I know it was real bad on Console, I feel real bad for the
- 2:22:06console people. But PC was from what?
- 2:22:10I remember a mixed bag I bought. That's why I bought physical.
- 2:22:13I bought my copy of cyberpunk physical from Best Buy.
- 2:22:18Yeah, that was that was that was probably a smart.
- 2:22:21I think one of one of my he's probably not watching but one of
- 2:22:25my one of my Subs who out who I stream with on occasion some
- 2:22:30pre-loaded, I remember he bought cyberpunk 2077 on PC and I
- 2:22:36remember he tried to do a stream of him playing it and he right
- 2:22:42he rage quit the stream and it was actually Justified because
- 2:22:46because the game Shit the bed. And he and I guess it was
- 2:22:51working like prior to him loading the stream and then,
- 2:22:54yeah, it's just He had everything, it said it perfectly
- 2:22:58and it just I do consider myself lucky.
- 2:23:03I don't know how I had. I had a mid power rain, like a
- 2:23:06mid strength PC, so I don't know how I managed to hit that
- 2:23:12beautiful in between where my experience was pretty bug free
- 2:23:16and no glitches and no major problems.
- 2:23:18And mostly, I was okay. And I didn't notice any key
- 2:23:22problems because I just, it was like, dude, wake up 8?
- 2:23:26H, 9 hours cyberpunk, go to sleep.
- 2:23:28Wake up eight hours, announced by the cyberpunk, go to sleep,
- 2:23:31wake up. It was one of those games.
- 2:23:33Um, oh yeah. So it's but there are it for
- 2:23:39consoles. It's absolutely atrocious.
- 2:23:42What happened? And the thing is, there are PC
- 2:23:45games that do get kind of released bad, but you see it
- 2:23:48more often on Console because for PC, they always like to use
- 2:23:51Early Access. Yeah.
- 2:23:53Well, no, I remember Because I'm because I missed out on the PS
- 2:23:59because I'm a PS4. I still had a PC at the time
- 2:24:03when I first moved to Florida. So I was gonna I was gonna try
- 2:24:08and buy Batman Arkham Knight at the time when it came out for
- 2:24:12the PC and then they actually pulled the PC release because it
- 2:24:17was so Broken. And I did.
- 2:24:21Yeah, I remember that. And I don't think they actually
- 2:24:24released it. So ironically like I had to
- 2:24:26wait, you know, close to seven years to play it, but I finally
- 2:24:30be Arkham Knight and I know I know that people share on that
- 2:24:35as like the worst in the franchise but it's it's still
- 2:24:40good Batman game and it's the it's the one we're going to have
- 2:24:43for a while because Arkham because Gotham Knights or
- 2:24:47whatever it is is in development hell right now.
- 2:24:51So yeah. That is not some game stuck in
- 2:24:55development hell right now. Yeah.
- 2:24:58GTA stuck in development. Hell right now.
- 2:25:00Yeah. So, so what and checked about a
- 2:25:03good point earlier. He says never pre-order games
- 2:25:07because that's a disaster. And yeah, I think we oh God.
- 2:25:12Yeah. Arkham City was one of those
- 2:25:16games that had like, notoriously bad pre-order.
- 2:25:23Problems. I hate pre-order bonuses.
- 2:25:25I think it's it's I think it's the worst.
- 2:25:28Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:25:30If you if there's a game you end up liking and are some that was
- 2:25:33a pre-order bonus and you're not playing on hacked console and
- 2:25:36you can't unlock it in any way you are screwed and it is.
- 2:25:38The worst thing is, all you want is to just have every that's why
- 2:25:42I like Elden rings. So goddamn much.
- 2:25:45I paid $60, I downloaded the video game.
- 2:25:48Everything in the video game was able for me to obtain.
- 2:25:53Yep. Yeah I know in regards the whole
- 2:25:57DLC shit. What we're doing is like I
- 2:26:01remember one DLC. First came out, it was cool.
- 2:26:05It was cool because like you would have a completed, you
- 2:26:08would have like a complete game on its own right during the PS3
- 2:26:12era and then like this was early on in the PS3, our as well, you
- 2:26:18would have like you would have you would have a complete game.
- 2:26:22But then you wouldn't have liked but then you would have the DLC,
- 2:26:26which would be, which would be like extra stuff view one and it
- 2:26:31would be like mostly be optional and that and now there are games
- 2:26:35were like the game is incomplete without the DLC and it's like I
- 2:26:41mean it depends on on for what kind of person and what they
- 2:26:44kind of want it it I think the biggest slap in the fucking face
- 2:26:50was when street fight. our cross Tekken released there were I
- 2:26:54think they were pre-order characters or the first DLC
- 2:26:57characters and they were on the discs data, but you had to buy
- 2:27:02that extra seven dollars to unlock the code for the thing on
- 2:27:06the disk that was locked from you that if you in, in twenty,
- 2:27:11Thirty forty years when you hook up fucking, when you hook up at
- 2:27:16360 and you can try to connect it to the net, you can you you
- 2:27:21boot up street fight Across second because you're an insane
- 2:27:23person living in 2050, playing Street Fighter, cross Tekken
- 2:27:28you're going to have characters on that disk that you will never
- 2:27:31unlock and never kind of Lock. And that is the shittiest
- 2:27:34fucking thing in the world. You you also want to know what
- 2:27:38shitty to is speaking of bad gang companies is so ironically
- 2:27:47just like everything else Star Wars, like LucasArts, the game
- 2:27:52coming to use, be used to be good.
- 2:27:55And then when and then when Disney bought it, just like
- 2:27:57everything Star Wars and all went to shit.
- 2:28:00Because as I and I think you and I you and I might have you might
- 2:28:06Then one had this conversation with but like I had to I had to
- 2:28:11explain to one of the neighbor kids that like no Batman
- 2:28:17Battlefront 2. No, no, there's no, no, no kid.
- 2:28:22There was a, there was a different version of battle real
- 2:28:26Battlefront 2, when I was a kid and it was actually good and it
- 2:28:31was actually good. Yeah, it wasn't as graphically
- 2:28:35impressive, but you could you could do more in that game,
- 2:28:41actually. Yeah, which is, which was the
- 2:28:46case for. That's, that's why.
- 2:28:48When that's why when People talk out.
- 2:28:50Oh, an icy though, the Old Republic remake is coming.
- 2:28:54I'm like, I'm like I'm like dear God, please.
- 2:29:00No, I remember hearing them hiring a writer and the writer
- 2:29:04saying that she like hates Star Wars fans or some stupid shit or
- 2:29:08being out of these kinds of people and we don't don't touch
- 2:29:11the fucking writing. Yeah, well, well it's well, it's
- 2:29:16the same person who wrote the high Star Wars, the higher
- 2:29:19public who was like, it was like I hate Star Wars.
- 2:29:23It was like, this is Star Wars not meant for Star Wars fans and
- 2:29:27it's like, it's like what? Again again, this is going back
- 2:29:34to like, the whole game. I get a thing of like, okay, why
- 2:29:38are you riding Star Wars shit? If you're not into Star Wars,
- 2:29:42like Why? If you want to hijack, some
- 2:29:46vents not theirs and spread a fucking message, or it's all my
- 2:29:52God. So, I guess to rewind on this
- 2:29:56whole thing just gamergate still matter.
- 2:29:58Yeah. Cuz they're still pushing
- 2:30:00bullshit down our throats and affecting creators and how they
- 2:30:04create things. Yeah, yeah.
- 2:30:07Now see, the problem is now is like everyone everyone in
- 2:30:11gamergate. Except for Jim, he I mean, I
- 2:30:16don't want to seem like I'm sucking.
- 2:30:17Daddy, hold on. Hold on.
- 2:30:19I need to, I need to, I need to correct.
- 2:30:20There is no gamergate anymore. That is a dead fucking movement,
- 2:30:23but the remnants of the people who were a part of, I know what
- 2:30:26you mean. Yeah.
- 2:30:28Yeah, well yeah. Well yeah the right the remnants
- 2:30:31of gamergate seem to mostly be dysfunctional except for Jim
- 2:30:36who's Arthur laughing in the corner?
- 2:30:38Sterculia anything and never have any I mean that's how Jim
- 2:30:42was when he walked away he walked away saying fuck you
- 2:30:45laughing because it was it was it the grift ruined what the
- 2:30:52movement was about and that's a you know that's why he didn't
- 2:30:56like drifting it Because he understood like it also affects
- 2:31:00things like that but it's like now it's like it's already too
- 2:31:03fucking late. They're in games, they're in
- 2:31:06comic books are in movies, they are in Blue's Clues there.
- 2:31:10In children's television, running Pride parades on Blue's
- 2:31:14Clues. It's my God.
- 2:31:17We're in the clown world, where in the fucking clown worldly?
- 2:31:20There's, there's no reason to even.
- 2:31:23Yeah, I've got it. Yeah, I've got to share some
- 2:31:27stuff with you about that. Once we're off are too, but it's
- 2:31:32gotten, it's gotten bad, but in all we all we can do is hope
- 2:31:38that that shit that that things get better, but it doesn't seem
- 2:31:44likely because of these people who are getting into these
- 2:31:46positions who are part of Academia, who have been taught,
- 2:31:50this kind of fucking mindset. That's why you'll have a thing
- 2:31:53where you'll have The transsexual fucking the dude, or
- 2:31:58the dude, fucking the transsexual in The Last of Us,
- 2:32:00Part 2, and that's okay to play uncensored in America on PS4.
- 2:32:04But in Devil May Cry. You better have a beam of light,
- 2:32:07that sensors, the ass of the hot chick.
- 2:32:11Or her breasts God forbid. Yeah, what the fuck?
- 2:32:14Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:32:16They for they forced North American censorship for DMC 5 to
- 2:32:20cover ass crack and and I think will be cleavage.
- 2:32:25But meanwhile, a dude is fucking Raylan.
- 2:32:29A transsexual in The Last of Us Part to the same one that killed
- 2:32:32the same one that killed the person that everybody loved from
- 2:32:36The Last of Us, One. And, and got I, that is the
- 2:32:40perfect fucking metaphor for all of it.
- 2:32:43A be beaten Joel over the head. With a golf club is a perfect
- 2:32:45metaphor for how things feel nowadays.
- 2:32:49Yeah, yeah. It's really, it's just really
- 2:32:52sad and it's just really sad and enroll in really tragic.
- 2:32:56And people say, oh no, there's no, there's no agenda, none of
- 2:33:00this is agenda based. You're all just transphobic and
- 2:33:04homophobic and asked and it's like, yeah.
- 2:33:07Yeah, I'm going to feel. They have to do one thing or
- 2:33:17another, when creating a type of fucking character.
- 2:33:21Yeah, Jim talked about it about the person that bitched at the
- 2:33:23Japanese dude and Dragon's Crown.
- 2:33:26Who, who said that the giant titty, Which lady the tall?
- 2:33:31Giant teddy. Which meant that you like
- 2:33:34fucking child porn shit. Like it's Pull clutching virtue
- 2:33:39signaling in the worst fucking regard.
- 2:33:41And I it it does affect these companies because it affects the
- 2:33:47money. And so that's why you see,
- 2:33:49Capcom saying, let's stay away from Zelda and Mario Style
- 2:33:53rolled and let's look towards Last of Us Part 2.
- 2:33:56In life is strange to hit for the lgbtq representation
- 2:34:02demographic. Yeah and it's like again do
- 2:34:07those people were like I mean I guess sure some of them play a
- 2:34:11game but it's like are you even appealing to a market that plays
- 2:34:15the game? I mean that's the thing that
- 2:34:18person that bitched about the design and saying, you know,
- 2:34:22crazy shit. They probably don't play the
- 2:34:26game. They probably mean, most of the
- 2:34:27people that is probably fucking don't, but they're the ones that
- 2:34:30make their voice hurt. Just like back in the old days
- 2:34:33of broadcast television, the the oh, think of the children, mom
- 2:34:37groups. Yeah.
- 2:34:40Yeah. It's just, it's just like that.
- 2:34:44Yeah, that cause bullshit with radio, that caused bullshit with
- 2:34:46TV that were the whole reason that the 90s counterculture
- 2:34:51started. Yeah, yeah.
- 2:34:54And and And the the sad thing is, is now all the 90s
- 2:34:58counterculture, people will not all of them, but the vast
- 2:35:00majority of them, like, Howard. Stern are the same ones who are
- 2:35:03like wear masks, you, you fucking weird.
- 2:35:08You fucking, you know, from supporting hater.
- 2:35:11You know, everybody is so political and I don't, I don't
- 2:35:17mind political games. I love Metal Gear, Solid, those
- 2:35:20cancer political as fuck, like, you could even once a fucking
- 2:35:25Final Fantasy, has some political elements in it, right?
- 2:35:30But sure. Does it mean they can't be
- 2:35:32entertaining, but not everything has to be it and not Not
- 2:35:37everybody involved with the hobby, has to talk about it or
- 2:35:40care about it. You know, the other thing is
- 2:35:43like, someone brought this point up to is like always jokes and
- 2:35:47like, pop culture references to Trump that, you know, like, like
- 2:35:52we know now because their cultural element but like think
- 2:35:5520, you know, 30 years down the line, like, when our kids
- 2:35:59theoretically art, you know, are playing these games.
- 2:36:02Like a lot of these inside jokes, they're not going to get
- 2:36:06it all. Because because you know,
- 2:36:09because the time has passed and you know, son the some of these
- 2:36:15references are just like so my new that they're not they just a
- 2:36:21lot of this. A lot of this current culture
- 2:36:24stuff is not going to age well in the future.
- 2:36:28No, it's not going to be entertaining, it's going it's
- 2:36:31going to be looked at in the same way that early or That 80's
- 2:36:36culture presented itself in media through a clean sanitize
- 2:36:39lens. When we all know, it wasn't that
- 2:36:42led into the 90s that started that kind of Kickstarter the can
- 2:36:45fucking WWE man like before the Attitude Era.
- 2:36:50It was all fucking take your vitamins holsters and then
- 2:36:56fucking we hit the hit, the attitude are and you're getting
- 2:37:00fucking dick chops from Degeneration, X and shit, you
- 2:37:02know? Yeah, it's that same shit and I
- 2:37:07think we're at the point now where it's just the ones kind of
- 2:37:11pushing the sanitized or think of the children in any sort of
- 2:37:14way or this that and the other, you gotta teach me on where any
- 2:37:16of this shit. Is just the most aggressive form
- 2:37:22of these mom groups because they take up such a massive part of
- 2:37:25the Public Square. That is the internet.
- 2:37:28And considering that the internet is not a true Public
- 2:37:30Square in which people can just be taken out at a whim.
- 2:37:35The ones who don't get banned or the ones, who speak the loudest,
- 2:37:38and the ones who speak the loudest of the ones, who get
- 2:37:40noticed, and the ones who get noticed are the ones who shape,
- 2:37:43how these companies? Now, this shit goes forward
- 2:37:45until the money hits and they're like, it ain't worth it.
- 2:37:50Yeah, I know, like eat it like it.
- 2:37:52I hate to say it, but like, even on things like disc or like, I
- 2:37:56have, to be honest man. I've been banned from Discord
- 2:37:59like three different times, just over one of them.
- 2:38:04The first time I got banned wasn't wasn't for anything.
- 2:38:09Even really that bad. I got banned because I was in, I
- 2:38:12was in the get, I was in a server that like I was in the
- 2:38:18server, that was like somewhat tied to Gavin McInnes, it wasn't
- 2:38:21tied to the, it wasn't tied to the proud, boys.
- 2:38:25I want to state that clearly for the record.
- 2:38:28It was not tied to the Bad Boys. It was simply a, it was simply a
- 2:38:33Discord were like, people who watched his podcast on on
- 2:38:38compound back in the day, could like hang out.
- 2:38:42But because it was Gavin McGinnis.
- 2:38:45And because the Because of the George Floyd thing.
- 2:38:49Not only did they shut down the Discord.
- 2:38:52They permabanned everyone's account was in the who was in
- 2:38:57the Discord, so like I had to DM Apex, unfortunately, like I had
- 2:39:03his cell phone number by then, so like I actually could text
- 2:39:07him and say, hey man, I got you eat it off of, you know, up this
- 2:39:12court in my my whole entire account is gone Um, so and and
- 2:39:18then, and then again, my second Discord got you needed because I
- 2:39:24was in a, I was in a Discord where I like someone used a
- 2:39:27racial epithet and I was the one that did it, but because I was
- 2:39:32in a server where happened the whole thing again got.
- 2:39:37So now it's guilt by association and at least with Discord, like
- 2:39:43you basically can't appeal shit like.
- 2:39:46You can, but they'll basically, it's pointless.
- 2:39:50They'll basically Jo fuck you, basically.
- 2:39:54Yeah. Pretty much.
- 2:39:57So yeah, my type gym. I musti, I miss the old
- 2:40:00internet. One people didn't take
- 2:40:01themselves, so seriously. Oh yeah.
- 2:40:04I miss pre net 2.0. Those were good days.
- 2:40:09Yeah, and now, in regards to this, whole, nft thing, I'm
- 2:40:13sorry, but web, three. I don't, I'm, I'm, I'm someone
- 2:40:19who's pretty technically Savvy, but even I don't understand what
- 2:40:22the fuck is going on with. There's so much smoke sis Look
- 2:40:26in mirrors, I don't know. I mean, we're still let me
- 2:40:30wrong. We're still in the fucking
- 2:40:31infancy of the internet even though it's been 20 fucking
- 2:40:34years or more well, who knows how much worse it's going to
- 2:40:39get. I hope Jimbo is a little too
- 2:40:41black build for his own good and we don't go to real ID.
- 2:40:45But man, I see if possible. Yeah, I know the well and that
- 2:40:52was the other. That was the other interesting
- 2:40:54thing about about that interview to that might occur did was the
- 2:40:59real ID thing is like that. Something like 10 years ago
- 2:41:06people would have never said, oh that'll ever happen but with the
- 2:41:10way, yeah, gone. I'm just like, yeah, I hope that
- 2:41:15doesn't happen but there's a very real possibility that it
- 2:41:19might have China. China is what happens when you
- 2:41:24get that Europe is what happens when you get that they're
- 2:41:28they're dudes who you can't sign up for Discord.
- 2:41:33If you're under 13 and the government connects your ID to
- 2:41:35your internet, so they know that you're not 13.
- 2:41:37So you can't just sign up for Twitter or whatever like it's
- 2:41:40some insane shit. Yeah.
- 2:41:44And and that's the thing is like, it's anonymity is good.
- 2:41:52It allows for that whole fucking thing, but it just allows In
- 2:41:56some ways for people to be more honest, it doesn't hurt.
- 2:41:59It doesn't it's that same kind of reactionary think of the
- 2:42:02children or for your safety and this that and the other and
- 2:42:06don't get me wrong, I understand some things are for my safety
- 2:42:08and some are you know I'll take him to leave it here and there
- 2:42:12but in terms of like and maybe it's just because it's the
- 2:42:16fucking world, I came up and and it's going to be more easier to
- 2:42:21change that mindset with the generations that grow up if you
- 2:42:24slowly implement it properly. But for me and how I came up, I
- 2:42:29already give away too much of my anonymity online.
- 2:42:32Just, yeah. Drew through logs and shit.
- 2:42:35No, say no same here. Well, listen, as I, as I explain
- 2:42:39to people, the whole reason why I have the whole reason why I, I
- 2:42:47have my face online, wasn't because I'm stupid.
- 2:42:53It's because when I started doing political, And Terry that
- 2:42:58was kind of thing that I wanted did online, you know, you could
- 2:43:02actually be online and talk politics and use your real name
- 2:43:11and plant when it get. And people wouldn't, in fact,
- 2:43:14was kind of like one of those things where, like, if you had a
- 2:43:17goofy, like if you had a goofy like pen name online, like
- 2:43:21people wouldn't take you seriously.
- 2:43:24If you were sure. Right.
- 2:43:27So it was kind of like if you want to try it for a publication
- 2:43:32or something like that you couldn't use them.
- 2:43:35You couldn't use like gay man, 95 or anything like that, right?
- 2:43:38Because people would be like, people would be like, who's
- 2:43:42this? You know, get him out of here
- 2:43:44personalized like the old names in a Nintendo Power in egm and
- 2:43:48shit where the reviewers would have, like Hindi handles or
- 2:43:51whatever. It was just a way to like blend
- 2:43:54in different Riders. Her different shit, right?
- 2:43:59But I mean, I guarantee you that like if I, you know, if I
- 2:44:02started this now. Oh yeah.
- 2:44:04I probably definitely like you know, be more Anonymous and have
- 2:44:07like you know just for shits and grinned.
- 2:44:09Like I have thought of like making make an avatar even even
- 2:44:13though everyone knows I am just like kind of creating a Persona
- 2:44:17as like yeah, that's like a cyborg man or something, I don't
- 2:44:20know. But anyway, so Apex never showed
- 2:44:27up for ya. Fucking the punk.
- 2:44:31What the fuck? We do.
- 2:44:33Got some gaming news if you want to go through here at the tail
- 2:44:35end. Sure sure.
- 2:44:38Okay. So, first up Final Fantasy, 10
- 2:44:42series shipments and digital sales top 20 point eight
- 2:44:47million. So this concludes with Final
- 2:44:51Fantasy tens, original series and the Final Fantasy 10.
- 2:44:55HD remaster that has been on PS3 Vita switch.
- 2:45:00PC, Xbox PS4, everything. Every modern console can go on
- 2:45:07nothing crazy about it just says that's a lot of.
- 2:45:09That's a lot of you. That's a lot of F10 and I love
- 2:45:12me so Final Fantasy 10, I think. Yeah Final Fantasy. 10 is
- 2:45:16probably my favorite like top to bottom.
- 2:45:21Seven was kind of my first real dip into Final Fantasy.
- 2:45:24See, but ten hit me so hard that even to this day, there are
- 2:45:28scenes that game that will absolutely make me break down
- 2:45:31and cry. It is I still look at that game
- 2:45:35going. Wow, this game looks really good
- 2:45:38and I'm playing it on my PS2. You know what I mean?
- 2:45:42Yeah, yeah. I know that.
- 2:45:44That's how I feel about the Max Payne series.
- 2:45:48Oh, yeah. And Max Payne 2 is also one of
- 2:45:50those things that aged so gracefully.
- 2:45:55Absolutely well. Yeah but but but my God my God
- 2:45:59doesn't need a remaster anyway. Continuing on it had a PC
- 2:46:04release. So continue on Yakuza eight.
- 2:46:10We have seen the first off Screen development footage and
- 2:46:13Japanese fighter, mikuru asakura is slated to appear.
- 2:46:19I'm a big fan of the Yakuza, otherwise known as you got.
- 2:46:23Go through coup in Japanese which Seems like a dragon which
- 2:46:26is where they've decided to rename the RPG side of that
- 2:46:29game, for whatever reason, or I think was yaku's like a dragon
- 2:46:35instead of the seventh game. But they've announced are shown
- 2:46:39off that they're working on 8 and that they're going to have a
- 2:46:44particular fighter they are showing some more returning
- 2:46:46characters and yeah very cool. I am a big, a big fan of that
- 2:46:52series, it's a great beat em up. Open World beat em up.
- 2:46:55Genre it turned into a great RPG and it uses always uses a great
- 2:47:00actors. It has great graphic Tech.
- 2:47:03There's a fucking scene in seven where the dude, eat some bread
- 2:47:07and it is the fucking craziest bread eating physics.
- 2:47:10You have ever seen in your goddamn life in a video game.
- 2:47:13It is amazing. Wow, this is bad dude, because
- 2:47:19you look at Li you look at how he's eating the bread and have a
- 2:47:22b are going and how it's and you How the fuck?
- 2:47:25Are they pulling that off? An engine?
- 2:47:27That's insane. And it looks fucking amazing.
- 2:47:31Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:47:32Facial facial capture whatever. It's called has come a long way.
- 2:47:38Yeah and then and then just model manipulation like the the
- 2:47:42real I wrote. Like that's one thing I love
- 2:47:43about F of 7 or 15 15. It had such realistic looking
- 2:47:48food and their games at certainly put it towards that
- 2:47:51but yeah, that's the news. Here's a quick one, the Wii U
- 2:47:58and 3DS Nintendo eShop. Tsar set to close down on March
- 2:48:0327th of 2023. Want one.
- 2:48:09So there's anything you want on the 3DS or the we you just
- 2:48:13fucking hack it and if there's anything not on the internet
- 2:48:17that is going to disappear Forever by it and archive it for
- 2:48:21the sake of everybody. Thank you.
- 2:48:25Yep. So I guess the saying if it's on
- 2:48:28the internet it always exists doesn't always ring true huh.
- 2:48:32Oh absolute their shit that is lost to time like unless Is
- 2:48:37archived it and even then that archive has to last there.
- 2:48:41It's a miracle, some stuff survives.
- 2:48:43The Time Capsule of the internet.
- 2:48:45It gets tough. Getting with how vast the Sea of
- 2:48:48the internet is. Oh yeah, I know things can
- 2:48:50disappear. But yeah.
- 2:48:54Next in the news if I'm not mistaken live, a live released
- 2:49:00for the Nintendo switch, the remake of the famous RPG, live
- 2:49:04alive for the Super Nintendo. Very cool.
- 2:49:08I'm glad that Scott to remake. It's deserved.
- 2:49:10It is a legendary R. BG.
- 2:49:13I played the demo. It looks super good.
- 2:49:16Don't know if I'll pick it up. We'll see.
- 2:49:18Maybe on a sale, but if there's a physical copy, I might be a
- 2:49:21little bit more willing. Also, I don't know how much the
- 2:49:24price is set, surprise some of the check, but, yeah, that is
- 2:49:28this week's releases Oddworld Soul storm odd.
- 2:49:33To mised Edition is coming to the Nintendo switch.
- 2:49:37I Of the odd World Series. I loved Abe's, Oddysee Abe's,
- 2:49:41exoddus, munches Odyssey. I love all of the odd World
- 2:49:44Games and it's also a really good and it's cool to see it on
- 2:49:48switch because now more people can play Odd world and that's
- 2:49:53great. This is one of my mother's
- 2:49:54favorite franchises. Yeah and if you preorder I think
- 2:49:58you get if you pre or is it limited though?
- 2:50:03There are different versions. There's a standard edition, the
- 2:50:06limited edition, which is three art cards and a custom game
- 2:50:10case. So you can hold all your switch
- 2:50:11games kind of useful. And then there is a switch
- 2:50:16collector's edition with the game case, a statue, keychain,
- 2:50:20the art pieces, an artbook stickers, and a hand tattoo.
- 2:50:26But I assume it's removable. That is, that is pretty cool.
- 2:50:30Wow, this. Yeah I I wouldn't buy it because
- 2:50:35I don't need Trinkets like that. But that is cool.
- 2:50:37I'm glad to see that series getting love.
- 2:50:39I like fucking Mark out over all the world.
- 2:50:42Yeah, I remember again, just like you go back to fail Final
- 2:50:47Fantasy all the time, I guess I owe you go back to the Arkham
- 2:50:51series. I remember he, I remembered the
- 2:50:53Arkham series. I think it was for the Arkham
- 2:50:56City Game of the Year Edition. They did something similar with
- 2:51:00that we're like, Hey, we're like, you got like a, you got
- 2:51:05like three different disc cases and whatnot.
- 2:51:08You got a couple of like, you know, tattoos or something like
- 2:51:12that but then they also had like a, that kind of like a batarang
- 2:51:17replica to that was like, that looks really cool.
- 2:51:22So, But yeah, no. It's it's I don't believe.
- 2:51:30I'm gonna start expecting the The Arc and returns more often.
- 2:51:33Now, you can counter my final fantasy with that.
- 2:51:37Yeah. So but yeah, no, that's cool.
- 2:51:41I love those serious, Lord Landings, a fucking genius
- 2:51:43director. Um, yeah, and then, and just
- 2:51:47what he was doing in the industry back then was
- 2:51:49fantastic. Even on the PS1 else also, Mark
- 2:51:53your Because Bayonetta switch is coming to the Nintendo switch on
- 2:51:56October 28, and there was a trailer released around 10 days
- 2:52:02ago and it looks good. I love Bayonetta.
- 2:52:05I love Platinum Games. I need to see what additions
- 2:52:11are. If are there going to be if any?
- 2:52:13And then I'll probably just cave and by the regular one because I
- 2:52:16don't need extra bullshit. Yeah that's going to be
- 2:52:20Bayonetta is actually a game I've played.
- 2:52:23I don't have I don't have a Nintendo obviously but I played
- 2:52:26a at a neighbor's house and it's a cool game.
- 2:52:29It is very it's like Devil May Cry.
- 2:52:32You know it's very stylish, very cool and it's Bayonetta 3 has
- 2:52:37been in development for so long. So for it to not only have been
- 2:52:39announced Reese not that long ago.
- 2:52:42And finally we have our released a time.
- 2:52:45I'm excited. I'm sure it's going to be good.
- 2:52:48I'm not expecting much so it's going to be easy to please.
- 2:52:52Cool last one. Oh dear.
- 2:52:57Did I lose it? Oh yes.
- 2:53:00Negotiations. Have come to a close and it is
- 2:53:03official Sony now or Playstation I guess, owns bungee.
- 2:53:11What I heard about that, what Bunji Bunji are through the
- 2:53:17people that made Halo originally and then they made nests to me.
- 2:53:21So wait, I thought that I thought that I know, I know, I
- 2:53:27remember when I was a kid that he'll was a Microsoft exclusive
- 2:53:32for the Xbox for because they, they bought in basically owned
- 2:53:37bungee, they funded bungee to make their exclusive.
- 2:53:41So then, as is hello, now going to be to be a PlayStation
- 2:53:45exclusive know, because Halo bungee lost.
- 2:53:50Hey, Go to Microsoft. I don't remember exactly how.
- 2:53:54And then Microsoft opened up, its own Studio house 343 All
- 2:54:00right real life and that was that was after reach.
- 2:54:04So Halo 4 and onwards were developed by Microsoft's custom
- 2:54:08put together, team 343 bungee then went on to do Destiny.
- 2:54:13Originally as an exclusive, I think we're doing expensive for
- 2:54:17PS4. Interested in.
- 2:54:21And then they did Destiny 2 and x 3 for 3 is had so many fucking
- 2:54:27problems and can barely get games out the door and Halo
- 2:54:30nfidence travesty and yeah. That's that's, it's interesting.
- 2:54:38I don't know. I don't know if Destiny has what
- 2:54:43it takes to really stand hard and true and bring people to
- 2:54:47PlayStation, but we'll see. Yeah, well part of it is again.
- 2:54:54Part of it is going to be the availability of of the
- 2:54:57PlayStation, right? Because, you know, now we're
- 2:55:02facing the problem like all these games like Gotham Knights
- 2:55:06and like Spider-Man 2 Arm. Now, we now we have the problem
- 2:55:12of their people who can't get the PS5 and can't get the Xbox,
- 2:55:18you know, one, you know, or whatever Xbox is console.
- 2:55:23I don't even fucking know that series the series X.
- 2:55:27I think the Xbox series X is, there's all that they're all
- 2:55:38these new releases coming. Out and like 20 at the end of
- 2:55:41this year and beginning of next year, that are going to be
- 2:55:44available for. I guess, you know, next-gen /
- 2:55:50current-gen, you know, basically this newest Jenna of console,
- 2:55:55only a lot of. Yeah, a lot of them are stopping
- 2:55:59development on last gen because it's the Gap is too big for them
- 2:56:02to make the same kind of game for each version for each
- 2:56:05console. Yeah, yeah.
- 2:56:07But but they're, you know, there's still the problem of not
- 2:56:12enough, people can get the PS5, not enough, people can get the
- 2:56:16series act so yeah, it'll be It's going to, it's really tough
- 2:56:23for game development Studios, man.
- 2:56:26Well, and I think that's why there's there's the each each
- 2:56:29each side of it is starting to go towards PC releases.
- 2:56:38Because that way the studios that they have all bought can
- 2:56:42still make them money somehow. Even if consoles, don't move, if
- 2:56:46they're selling the games on PC, at least to an extent, they can
- 2:56:50keep the developers working on stuff and and things will keep
- 2:56:53moving. Yeah, so now and now it's
- 2:56:56starting to be every each console is going to have their
- 2:57:01PC counterpart Xbox has its PC counterpart PlayStation as its
- 2:57:05PC counterpart. They're both dipping in and
- 2:57:07grabbing the PC market while still trying to maintain some
- 2:57:11sort of a combo console Market hold and I think Xbox doing it
- 2:57:18better because they have better cross plot.
- 2:57:21And cross-play. Yeah, and he's doing some
- 2:57:27numbers. Oh really?
- 2:57:31Yeah that's why Sony is trying to copy their model and they're
- 2:57:33working on revamping their online service costs and trying
- 2:57:37to work any game pass style thing and that'll be
- 2:57:40interesting. Yeah that yeah they desperately
- 2:57:44need to do that because man I'm certainly not going to pay for
- 2:57:48pay for PS Now whatever it's called the no one else that I
- 2:57:52know is paying for I did for a bit.
- 2:57:56It did for a bit and what woman, let me guess, it's dog shit.
- 2:58:06If you can download the games, it's fine.
- 2:58:09If you stream the games, it's kind of a, it doesn't quite
- 2:58:12feel, right? Just something is off about it.
- 2:58:15Um, Like for PS3 stuff I get it, you can't like do that.
- 2:58:21But you know, there were certain games at like, You know, Parappa
- 2:58:26to or Red Faction to had some PS4 kind of retouches.
- 2:58:29And then there was this other games.
- 2:58:31I didn't buy physical and stuff like that, and it's like, yeah,
- 2:58:35okay. But I kind of play stuff a
- 2:58:37little here and there and I just really wasn't getting the most
- 2:58:43out of it because it was just I was looking at single, yeah.
- 2:58:48Like that's that's what I played Spider-Man on through PS Now.
- 2:58:52Know it downloaded feeling. Yeah.
- 2:58:56Yeah. What's the game pass?
- 2:58:58But I feel a lot better benefit. Yeah.
- 2:59:02So I mean that is the one thing I will say is I'm glad there's
- 2:59:05kind of a thing of people liking to play single-player games
- 2:59:08again because man, for a while part of the reason why I stopped
- 2:59:13gaming was because When I left the gaming Market just became
- 2:59:19over saturate oversaturated with multiplayer game.
- 2:59:24I think it still is I mean, I mean it is, but there's but I
- 2:59:31feel a little like, it's not as I feel like, it's not as much.
- 2:59:36Let me put it this way, it's still oversaturated, like crazy,
- 2:59:40but at least now, there's always something for us.
- 2:59:44You like single player games, whereas, before there really
- 2:59:48wasn't anything. So, what was that?
- 2:59:54Is that all the news on your own?
- 2:59:55Yeah. That is all the news on my end.
- 2:59:59Well, I actually I under three hours.
- 3:00:01Oh yeah, what do you got? I actually I actually have Two
- 3:00:10pieces of news to one that you might that you might know of
- 3:00:18one. You might not, but the trailer
- 3:00:22for John Wick for chapter 4. Just dropped.
- 3:00:27I did see hideo Kojima retweet. Something about that.
- 3:00:31I have not seen it yet. Have you?
- 3:00:35Okay. So have you seen any of the John
- 3:00:37Wick movies? I have seen John Wick, one and
- 3:00:42two. Okay.
- 3:00:46Yeah. I'm I'm a massive fan of that
- 3:00:49entire series. Um John asked me why I didn't
- 3:00:53get to 3 but I am a fan to I like it and then I've heard some
- 3:00:57stuff about three is like I'm gonna just wait a little longer
- 3:01:01until I'm bringing across that bridge.
- 3:01:05I mean I I think enough John Wick three isn't bad.
- 3:01:11It's it's good. It's just the way, I think, the
- 3:01:17way the way, the way they marketed through, in my opinion
- 3:01:21was bad because They made it seem like it was going to be a
- 3:01:26truck. They made it seem like the John
- 3:01:29Wick movies. We don't we're going to be a
- 3:01:31trailer and then or no Trilogy, sorry they made it seem like
- 3:01:38they made it seem like, John, what was going to be a Trilogy?
- 3:01:40So people I think 13, expecting expecting, expecting it to be
- 3:01:47the end and then like part way through the movie, you're like,
- 3:01:51oh wait, no, this isn't going to be There are way too many loose
- 3:01:55ends. I mean, I guess the way they
- 3:01:57marketed it, it seemed a little deceptive.
- 3:02:00So, but overall it's pretty good.
- 3:02:04That was my only problem with it was deceptive marketing, a bit.
- 3:02:08So yeah and and I I mean don't get me wrong, I think I just
- 3:02:15other things got to me, but now that for is going to come out
- 3:02:17well. Okay, well, there's the excuse
- 3:02:19to redo one and to watch three and then go into for yeah,
- 3:02:23that's okay. Because John Wiggles on my
- 3:02:25favorite characters to use in Payday 2 so yeah, oh, yeah,
- 3:02:33that's right. Yeah, we question payday.
- 3:02:36Yeah. Yeah.
- 3:02:38Well, and then like, so I have to admit, I'm not an anime.
- 3:02:42I'm not like an anime fan, but I am a hand of.
- 3:02:46I am a fan of like, Japanese Hong Kong action Cinema.
- 3:02:54So, and that's in John Wick, basically, like, pays homage to,
- 3:02:59oh yeah, a lot of those. So it's son was fun.
- 3:03:03And then and then I mean, I know, I know that.
- 3:03:08Yes, I know everyone loves Keanu but I will say that like, in my
- 3:03:13opinion. And I'm sorry Matrix fans.
- 3:03:17You guys kind of fucked yourselves with Matrix for but
- 3:03:22Keanu is better as John Wick then as me out in my opinion
- 3:03:28It's um I mean you mean new Neo or old Neo?
- 3:03:38Just overall in general I like the character going awake more
- 3:03:41than I like meow. Well yeah I know that's just
- 3:03:44preference the character then. I'll see you John Wick and I'll
- 3:03:49raise you. My favorite kind of characters
- 3:03:52Johnny silver hand from cyberpunk.
- 3:03:54Well, okay, okay, well yeah, that's but he's cool of how he's
- 3:04:00written. He's not cool because of what he
- 3:04:01dies, John Wick is cool because of what he does.
- 3:04:05Yeah, John Wick John Wick would be shit.
- 3:04:09They I am really surprised that that made like a John Wick video
- 3:04:14game. Yeah, they Did if I'm not
- 3:04:17mistaken, let me see. I want to say, yeah, I was
- 3:04:25called John Wick hex and it's kind of like, This top-down
- 3:04:31strategy game. Oh yeah yeah it's one of those.
- 3:04:36No. I mean like an axle like Hitman
- 3:04:39style, you know, shooter type of There should have been a John
- 3:04:45Wick Hitman crossover. That's what there should have
- 3:04:47been because nobody's going to do hit man better than hitman's
- 3:04:50currently doing it. Yeah.
- 3:04:53Then at the peak of their Series.
- 3:04:58Yeah. Of a God, you know, Hitman is
- 3:05:01actually one of those games where, like, people think people
- 3:05:05think, oh, it's just a shooter and it's like, no, you actually.
- 3:05:09It's a, it's a good. It's a, it's a strategy game.
- 3:05:13It's a James Bond simulator is what it is.
- 3:05:18On steroids on steroids with a chicken costume.
- 3:05:23You're goddamn right? I love it.
- 3:05:27Okay, I'm not even going to fucking front.
- 3:05:29I knew of Hitman never played it.
- 3:05:31I guess what game I came in on for hit man.
- 3:05:34Guess what was my first Absolution?
- 3:05:38Oh, my God. How did you call it?
- 3:05:42Because guess what? My first Hitman game was really.
- 3:05:47Yes. Oh Oh my God.
- 3:05:49Okay, okay. Also, you know what people say
- 3:05:52about Absolution, right? No people, I mean, it's kind of
- 3:06:00a split camp and it's some people just being die.
- 3:06:02Hard, hit man. Venex, but they say that
- 3:06:04Absolution is the worst in the series.
- 3:06:07Oh, yeah. I have, I have her visits, so
- 3:06:11it's cold. So kind of linear and shit.
- 3:06:15yeah, I know I've heard that for me for me, the reason I got into
- 3:06:20it was because at the time, my friends had kept like, you know,
- 3:06:27trying to get me to buy it and it was because like I It was
- 3:06:32because I hated the idea of it, man.
- 3:06:34I was just like, yeah, like it's not super high on my priority
- 3:06:38list, right? And then people just kept
- 3:06:42nagging out and it was like, okay, fine, I'll play as your as
- 3:06:47your fucking bald-headed, fuck had a SAS, that's okay.
- 3:06:53Fine. And then I and then I got I got
- 3:06:56Absolution and I was like holy shit, this is actually fun.
- 3:07:01I was mine was started from watching a two best friends
- 3:07:05Machinima video like that game. Looks fucking cool.
- 3:07:09And then I got it and I was like, just games fucking cool.
- 3:07:13And then I didn't touch Hitman when it came out hit when the
- 3:07:16relaunch happened, but then it picks up Hitman two.
- 3:07:21And I was like and then I started reading and people are
- 3:07:25saying like this is the true return to form like one of the
- 3:07:28YouTubers I watch super Bunny. Hop was reviewing the games and
- 3:07:31it was his reviews that kind of got me thinking.
- 3:07:33Well I did like Absolution these seem pretty cool.
- 3:07:35So okay let me try it and then I fell in love with it because if
- 3:07:40it may if the current iterations of Hitman are the truest forms
- 3:07:43of the genre and what it's supposed to be oh my God I can
- 3:07:47understand why people would say absolutions bad in comparison.
- 3:07:51Yeah, well, and and is Square Enix if I'm not mistaken.
- 3:07:58Also develops Hitman, right? They owned the IP and the studio
- 3:08:06for many years. Part of those years were the
- 3:08:12Absolution years. Yeah, they owned IO interactive,
- 3:08:16we own the franchise and I, oh, okay.
- 3:08:19And they're the ones that made the hit.
- 3:08:21It man. Re-release release in two
- 3:08:23separate episodes and Seasons, instead of the full game, it
- 3:08:27should have been. Yeah, I I always the one I'm
- 3:08:31thinking of because people people on our / James Bond have
- 3:08:37been saying that like it if if If the Fleming is State ever
- 3:08:44gets shit together and austere be rights to another James Bond
- 3:08:50game. I own direct needs to be the one
- 3:08:53to make like, oh, dude, 100, dude!
- 3:08:57No, no! No one could make a better James
- 3:09:00Bond game and I know because I've played a lot of James Bond
- 3:09:03games. No II played.
- 3:09:06I played them all. And I kind of have to agree.
- 3:09:09So yeah, like I guess and don't get me wrong, there's something
- 3:09:12here. Okay, I still say Tomorrow Never
- 3:09:14Dies wasn't too bad. Oh no II wasn't II love.
- 3:09:20I actually funny story. So back when I was like a really
- 3:09:25young kid and I was playing games like like my my
- 3:09:34occupational therapist would actually like have me play games
- 3:09:38and one of the things was I learn how to game.
- 3:09:42Tomorrow Never Dies. And my mom would actually make
- 3:09:45me play would actually making play after school and it was
- 3:09:50blowing dies. Okay, so you've got, you've got
- 3:09:54a personal connection then? Yeah.
- 3:09:57So yeah yeah. And I mean, of course, I played
- 3:10:01GoldenEye 64 as well. But yeah, it was okay, if PS2
- 3:10:07games I mean night, I mean knife, I was pretty good for
- 3:10:12Russia. With Love had some cool scenes.
- 3:10:15Well, From Russia with Love was good because like, for our
- 3:10:18generation and that that was like, It honestly was a truce
- 3:10:22experience. Well, not only that but was like
- 3:10:25yeah, we've all we've all heard of Sean Connery.
- 3:10:28But wait, wait, Sean Connery. And then we all watched the Sean
- 3:10:35Connery. Wait this holy shit.
- 3:10:39Our parents were right. This guy actually is cool.
- 3:10:42Yeah. So and then and then the and
- 3:10:48then kind of it was kind of prophetic because Cuz the James
- 3:10:52Bond video game franchise died harder than Daniel Craig's.
- 3:10:59Bond up there and of no bond at the end of their times.
- 3:11:03I oh that poor man. Oh that poor man.
- 3:11:10Yeah no. So it I God I if they ever give
- 3:11:15that license or put that license on the market they didn't you
- 3:11:18just give it to I oh that's that's just money.
- 3:11:20That's free money. Yeah we're at we're at like
- 3:11:25where I like a weird stage now. We're like we're waiting to see
- 3:11:31what, what, what we're into World.
- 3:11:34We're waiting to see what a what the, what the future the Bond
- 3:11:38movie is is going to be since no one knows.
- 3:11:42And then will they bring the game franchise back as well?
- 3:11:48I hope they, I hope they do both But there's just no knowing at
- 3:11:54this eye. I think and this is my
- 3:11:59uneducated ass for anybody listening.
- 3:12:04This is my take on it. Make a new movie.
- 3:12:08Have a new Bond. Yeah, I agree.
- 3:12:11And then make the game to launch alongside the movie or rather
- 3:12:17have the game in development and prep the movie to launch
- 3:12:21alongside the game for just figure it out.
- 3:12:23However, so they both launched but have the game not.
- 3:12:27The movie. The game have the game.
- 3:12:29Yeah. I true James Bond.
- 3:12:32Pick your bond play through scenarios playthrough, classic
- 3:12:35moments as any bond. Fucking who make your own James
- 3:12:39Bond, fuck it right like something because then you're
- 3:12:44pushing two different stories. You're pushing two different
- 3:12:46brand recognitions. And so somebody doesn't say, oh,
- 3:12:48I watch the movie honey, play the game, or, oh, I play the
- 3:12:51game, I wanted to watch the movie or yeah, I kind, I kind of
- 3:12:54agree with what you're saying. So the The other thing, a lot of
- 3:12:57people that a lot of people don't know this, but there's one
- 3:13:02of the independent Comics, one of the independent comic book
- 3:13:06companies, got the rights to do a monthly James Bond comic book
- 3:13:12series and the Jame and the James Bond comic book series is
- 3:13:18based on the funding novels. But like the James, the James
- 3:13:23Bond of the James Bond comic book universe is Kind of its own
- 3:13:29thing, right? Kind of like how PS4 Spider-Man
- 3:13:33is kind of its kind. Yeah, something to write.
- 3:13:36So, and that's kind of my idea of, for, like a James Bond, is
- 3:13:40like have have video game, James Bond, be its own thing in like,
- 3:13:46and yeah, you can make like, so nods and homages to the movies
- 3:13:50or whatever. But like, like you said, don't
- 3:13:53tie the two things explicitly together, like, well, kind of Be
- 3:13:58its own. Then I'm not even saying like
- 3:14:01the game should come up with its own like form on bond.
- 3:14:05I mean, kind of can if you do something like a custom
- 3:14:07character, which would be kind of cool because I think it's
- 3:14:11either you want to play as Bond doing Bond moments, or you want
- 3:14:13to live that fantasy yourself. There's a lot of that cross
- 3:14:16pollination in it, right? Because he doesn't want to
- 3:14:19fucking because be Bond, sip, martinis and fucking bitches,
- 3:14:23you know, I mean like Fuck. Yeah.
- 3:14:27But The thing is, is like the movie works best as a movie with
- 3:14:32a plot in a structure and everything, going the way it's
- 3:14:35supposed to go. For the most intense, action and
- 3:14:37drama and passion, The Hitman games are Great Bond games
- 3:14:43because No matter what route, you go to solve the issue of
- 3:14:48what you're doing. You can adapt to the world
- 3:14:52adapts around you and you can still even if you kind of fuck
- 3:14:56up a little bit, you can still kind of end it like a fucking
- 3:14:59spy, you know, kind of like something out of a movie.
- 3:15:03Well, and also just because the way games are developed, you can
- 3:15:07spend way longer playing a game, then you can like movies.
- 3:15:13Even if they're three hours long you kind of have to stick to to
- 3:15:17a runtime and do. Something within us and you
- 3:15:23know, runtime of a movie. And I know there I know there is
- 3:15:28that and gaming to somewhat, but it's all us like time limits and
- 3:15:34gaming are just not as restrictive as.
- 3:15:38Yeah. Are and in film or TV the kite
- 3:15:42the kinds of stories you can tell in long form versus your
- 3:15:46standard cinema. Go is much more different.
- 3:15:48Yeah. And the thing is too is I I
- 3:15:50think it would work better as you kind of have the game be
- 3:15:54more of a celebration because what I owe does good with Hitman
- 3:15:59is it preserves? Its black comedy hit.
- 3:16:03Man is a funny fucking game. If you're listening right, if
- 3:16:09you're paying attention to the right dialogues and going Lou
- 3:16:12right routes and you have a kind of of ability to laugh at shit
- 3:16:16dark. It's got some and just hilarious
- 3:16:19moments. Like, here's this white ball,
- 3:16:22dude, in Mexico, sitting with Mariachis and they know he's not
- 3:16:26one of them, but they're too fucking scared to fucking say
- 3:16:29anything, right, right. Or just, you know, effect, like
- 3:16:35you can one of the things the two wires is like, you can like
- 3:16:41you can split past like secure you can you can like so a past,
- 3:16:46like security guards just by like putting on a uniform and
- 3:16:50like, Even while wearing a uniform of, like, it was some
- 3:16:53kind, like, anyone paying attention can could probably
- 3:16:57know that. You know, hit man is out of the
- 3:17:01ordinary, right? But but just by putting on a
- 3:17:04uniform or something Hitman completely just blend.
- 3:17:08And but in the same in the same vein because I push towards
- 3:17:12this, I did suit runs. I picked a starting outfit and I
- 3:17:15stayed in that starting outfit and I did what I needed to do.
- 3:17:18I got where I need to do and I didn't put on a single goddamn
- 3:17:20Else do I go? First, I worked hard to ghost, a
- 3:17:25lot of levels in sued only. Yeah, I sometimes I need to kill
- 3:17:31for that, but I've tried that because I have, I have to be
- 3:17:36honest, as a guy who likes to wear suits a lot IRL, I love, I
- 3:17:42love Hitman suits, only excuse, I can do to try and Do this, I
- 3:17:47can. But some of those all those are
- 3:17:51like fucking hard without, you know, it Su.
- 3:17:54And I only have X amount of time in my day to play exactly.
- 3:17:58And when I was playing them, I was like, all right, let me
- 3:18:02dissect, all of this fucking Clockwork and spend hours to
- 3:18:05figure out reaction times and how things react.
- 3:18:08Like I went hard on that game and that's I think what what
- 3:18:14makes a good game like that is that it's got a He'll like a
- 3:18:18movie from beginning to end whether you're a professional
- 3:18:21and it's a quick scene in a movie where it's you're in.
- 3:18:24You're out there dead and you walk away.
- 3:18:26Cool. Or it's this thing that starts
- 3:18:28out. Slow burns into a gunfight with
- 3:18:30a clever fucking Escape. Yeah.
- 3:18:34No, I'd for Bond. Picking your bonds and bond dish
- 3:18:38scenarios or even re-creations. Infinite replayability with
- 3:18:42that. Yeah.
- 3:18:44I mean sometimes in it man. I just like to go and like, I
- 3:18:48like to go in John Wick words just like all guns blazing and
- 3:18:52oh yeah, just drop just walking dropping them off loaded with
- 3:18:57that him in the end and that is one thing like sucks and
- 3:19:02Absolution is like like even while playing I was kind of like
- 3:19:07yeah I get why this is a gripe is an Absolution like you get
- 3:19:13West. Whines for not doing a stealth
- 3:19:15flame that they kind of like like you don't have to do it,
- 3:19:19still play an Absolution but the game kind of says, fuck you.
- 3:19:23If you don't do if you don't do stuff Ali which okay that's not
- 3:19:27really fun. If like like like the game's not
- 3:19:31forcing you to play a certain way but it's kind of telling you
- 3:19:33what? Hey, here's what we'd like you
- 3:19:35to play. We don't we don't we don't want
- 3:19:37any possibility of Gunplay there.
- 3:19:40Too. Many guys go fuck yourself.
- 3:19:43Yeah. Right?
- 3:19:44Which is why if you play Absolution, you know how Opie
- 3:19:48the knife or a screwdriver is. Yeah.
- 3:19:52Yeah yeah. Yeah.
- 3:19:54There it is. You know exactly how.
- 3:19:56Oh Peters. Alright.
- 3:19:57Well fuck you only fire and shots.
- 3:19:59I'm going to drop every fucking body with the screwdriver.
- 3:20:01Watch me. You know, you know.
- 3:20:04You know what's funny about that, too?
- 3:20:05Was like I remember, I remember I remember I actually discovered
- 3:20:11how Opie it was on accident because I'm like because like I
- 3:20:15ran out of ammo so I was like I was like oh fuck I guess I'll
- 3:20:19have to kill someone with the screws with your screwdriver
- 3:20:25right? Like and I'm like and I'm like
- 3:20:28it's the screwdriver. It's not gonna be like oh, oh!
- 3:20:37Oh! P.
- 3:20:42And then in those strategies carried over to fucking the
- 3:20:45modern Hitman, and it's like, oh my God, it's so fun.
- 3:20:49Yeah. Yeah.
- 3:20:50It's just like 04. Yeah, for shits and giggles.
- 3:20:55If him if him an raw want to pay tribute to John Wick, they
- 3:20:58should make pencils Opie. Oh God.
- 3:21:02Yeah, I have pencils that would be a good item.
- 3:21:06That would be a good item. You could find anywhere and you
- 3:21:09got an instant stabber right there.
- 3:21:11One. But one hit though it have to be
- 3:21:13Last of Us style. Yeah I or at least or at least
- 3:21:19maybe three hits since John Wick killed three guys in a bar.
- 3:21:22Oh yeah. True with huh?
- 3:21:26Yes, or, you know, they could do something similar or fuck.
- 3:21:30It just have it be like, just have it.
- 3:21:31Be an invulnerable pencil. Screw it, fuck it.
- 3:21:34It doesn't matter. None of this fucking batters
- 3:21:36have fun. There are there are small horse.
- 3:21:40John Wick edits of that intro. We're like where's opening his
- 3:21:44case and he's you know he's smashing the concrete in the
- 3:21:47basement. Someone did it.
- 3:21:48I some of these YouTubers are talented.
- 3:21:52I can't find any more of a few years ago there was Edit were
- 3:21:56someone did where you take a, where takes out his allocation,
- 3:22:00as a gun case and everything and he opens it and it's just to
- 3:22:04reveal like a whole stack of fucking, you know, standardized
- 3:22:11number two pencils. That's great.
- 3:22:16Yeah, it's just like became a home game.
- 3:22:20Yeah, we have well, All over the place today.
- 3:22:28Oh yeah. And and see how could you
- 3:22:31without Vickers? One all over the place.
- 3:22:34I'm worse than you. Yeah makers keep things fairly
- 3:22:40on track. So until you get him started
- 3:22:46talking about which, which by the way I see that he's back, so
- 3:22:58So, you know, I hope Apex didn't traumatize you too much loss.
- 3:23:03Because the point where you were like, we should be, you gotta
- 3:23:08come back, you motherfucker, not at all, not at all.
- 3:23:28Any plans, right? As of yet.
- 3:23:31Things are so bad luck seeing. So yeah well I mean I know he's
- 3:23:35back but I also know that the whole in a drama thing regarding
- 3:23:39his whole clan is still kind of up in the air.
- 3:23:44It's hilarious. The people who doc stems
- 3:23:48supposedly are now like in their own shit which I guess is kind
- 3:23:52of karma but, you know, it's I've not probably need to read
- 3:24:01up more on it. I've been distracted by other
- 3:24:05shit like the the the gain of Casino gym stuff.
- 3:24:09That's at my touching this, that and the other, but I can fill
- 3:24:14you in afterwards. Yeah, a little bit.
- 3:24:18But yeah. Well, Watching and draw
- 3:24:29listening. And we'll be back next week
- 3:24:32folks. So hopefully a textual will be
- 3:24:36back hopefully. So, but until then, see ya and
- 3:24:43thanks for have a good one. Thanks for listening to the
