- 1 00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:02,640 It's still really a big hit! 2 00:00:02,640 --> 00:00:11,640 [Music] 3 00:00:11,640 --> 00:00:23,720 Welcome everybody! Welcome to this week's a dissonist over the show. Episode number 850 for May 28, 2026. 4 00:00:23,720 --> 00:00:33,720 Is your AWW or nothing recap and WWE clash in Italy preview and prediction edition of SRTU? 5 00:00:33,720 --> 00:00:41,720 I am one out of the show. I am Jeff Beck joined every single week for like those long Dr. Craig Franklin, Dr. Trey, 6 00:00:41,720 --> 00:00:44,720 AW may be back, my friend. 7 00:00:44,720 --> 00:00:52,720 Yeah, I mean unfortunately nobody got their head shaved. I was kind of hoping for you know the wig and head gear like Kurt Angle back in the day. 8 00:00:52,720 --> 00:00:59,720 But right now like they are on fire. Maybe outside of the women's division a little bit. 9 00:00:59,720 --> 00:01:03,720 There is nothing really to complain about with AEW right now. 10 00:01:03,720 --> 00:01:10,720 No it's it's wild. We have a lot to discuss about all the wrestling and everything that's coming out of Double or Nothing weekend. 11 00:01:10,720 --> 00:01:15,720 A renaissance, some may say in regards to AEW. 12 00:01:15,720 --> 00:01:22,720 So let's just at least get to it here from a timeline standpoint. We'll get right into Saturday Night's Main Event recap here. 13 00:01:22,720 --> 00:01:30,720 It was this past Saturday from the Allen County. World Memorial Call Seam in Fort Wayne Indiana. It was like the first time WWE had been in Fort Wayne Indiana in 15 years. 14 00:01:30,720 --> 00:01:33,720 I don't know why that was a big note. 15 00:01:33,720 --> 00:01:37,720 But yeah I mean. I'm amazed they could find it. I was amazed they were able to find it. 16 00:01:37,720 --> 00:01:40,720 It was a weird location for Saturday Night's Main Event. 17 00:01:40,720 --> 00:01:47,720 But when you kind of look at the show and you look at what the PLE or whatever you want to call Saturday Night's Main Event special event. 18 00:01:47,720 --> 00:01:54,720 It was it was something that just helped come kind of like move. Move the football down the field when it comes to storyline. 19 00:01:54,720 --> 00:02:01,720 So like think about this. Think about this. If you're if you're a WBC was our and your offices are like, hey we got two shows coming up. 20 00:02:01,720 --> 00:02:06,720 Do you want to be booked on the Fort Wayne Indiana show or the show in Italy? 21 00:02:06,720 --> 00:02:16,720 And then you got like half the roster going crap. I'm stuck in Fort Wayne. It's not nothing against our three fans in Fort Wayne Indiana. 22 00:02:16,720 --> 00:02:24,720 But yeah it is kind of a let down to go like, oh crap I can't be on the Italy card. I'm stuck on the Fort Wayne Indiana card. 23 00:02:24,720 --> 00:02:32,720 Do I need a passport for Fort Wayne? No. Okay then I guess. Sure. There are a couple people will be working both shows. 24 00:02:32,720 --> 00:02:38,720 And let's get through the recap here. So Jade Cargo, Meachin and BFAB DeFeedery and Ripley Charlotte and Alexa Bliss. 25 00:02:38,720 --> 00:02:44,720 So we're going to feed it back in Lynch by disqualification. Penta defeated Ethan Page retained the WWE Intercontinental Championship. 26 00:02:44,720 --> 00:02:50,720 Page and Bri Beled, defeated the Irresistible Forces legend and Nijaxe retained the WWE Women's Sighting Championship. 27 00:02:50,720 --> 00:02:57,720 And the vision Logan Paul and Austin theory defeated the Street Profits to retain the World Tag Team Championship. 28 00:02:57,720 --> 00:03:02,720 Some talking points here Dr. Trey. There was a lot of news and notes heading into the weekend. 29 00:03:02,720 --> 00:03:11,720 Last weekend that Ethan Page had a supporters in WWE. You and I felt like he was on the cusp of breaking out a little bit on the main roster since getting the debut. 30 00:03:11,720 --> 00:03:18,720 He takes the L to Penta. He has his supporters rightfully so where do you see the next steps for Ethan Page? 31 00:03:18,720 --> 00:03:24,720 Because I think it's inevitable at least for me as if you were watching at home that Ethan Page has an Intercontinental Championship run soon. 32 00:03:24,720 --> 00:03:34,720 No, he I saw somebody say he is the epitome of the throwback heel Intercontinental Champion that you and I grew up with in the 80s and 90s. 33 00:03:34,720 --> 00:03:40,720 You think of like the Mrs Intercontinental title runs, you know, the 2000s all the way through now. 34 00:03:40,720 --> 00:03:47,720 Like he is that throwback prototypical crappy heel that everybody wants to see get beat up. 35 00:03:47,720 --> 00:04:00,720 I don't know if he'll ever be a top guy in the company but yeah he's definitely your heel upper mid card guy for the next, you know, five to ten years. 36 00:04:00,720 --> 00:04:05,720 Yeah, there's a lot of things that are just going up and up and up and up. I'm buying stock on Ethan Page. 37 00:04:05,720 --> 00:04:11,720 It's funny because I think when you look at talents that were in WWE that went to AW. 38 00:04:11,720 --> 00:04:24,720 And then the talent went from AW to WWE. It may not have been well known. Like for me, the big one that like if I'm working WWE, I'm like I can't believe we let this guy slip through the cracks is swirfs trickling like 125%. 39 00:04:24,720 --> 00:04:37,720 I mean, he is a top five guy in AW. And there's not many like from AW to WWE where unless they were in the company already like a Cody Rhodes, Jade Carcola, I think was inevitable. 40 00:04:37,720 --> 00:04:53,720 Maybe Jade falls into this but I do feel like on a much lower degree at this point that Ethan Page is climbing that chart where even at what there was at some point when he got to the character that he's doing now is really the North American championship run. 41 00:04:53,720 --> 00:04:59,720 And it just became home on the wrestler like I've been watching Ethan Page in TNA wrestling. 42 00:04:59,720 --> 00:05:07,720 He was in a ball for a little bit and I was very, very excited when he signed with AW and it just really never worked out there. 43 00:05:07,720 --> 00:05:17,720 I kind of forgot how talented he was because I was all in on Ethan Page when it was when his free agency I was thinking WWE should sign him a W should sign him signs with AW. 44 00:05:17,720 --> 00:05:22,720 Excited for him. Again, never really worked out. He was kind of like a bit player for the most part. 45 00:05:22,720 --> 00:05:34,720 And then he comes to WWE, you kind of forget how good he was and then he starts climbing it and it's like this is a guy that can be mid card upper mid card, have an old school and if I see title run for a period of time and it would be exciting. 46 00:05:34,720 --> 00:05:49,720 And that's what I'm seeing right now. And again, it's you're not comparing him to Swarth Strickland but I think he's one of those guys where if if he keeps going the way that he's going maybe AW looks at Ethan Page and WWE goes, I wish we had one back like WWE should be doing. 47 00:05:49,720 --> 00:05:54,720 If they're not for whatever reason with Swarth Strickland and AW, do you feel that same way Dr. Try? 48 00:05:54,720 --> 00:06:05,720 Yeah, I mean there are certain guys that fit maybe other companies better and Ethan is a by nature a sports entertainer. 49 00:06:05,720 --> 00:06:13,720 He's a really good in-ring wrestler, not knocking his wrestling ability but his biggest trait has always been his care. 50 00:06:13,720 --> 00:06:21,720 And it got lost in the shuffle because Helen TNA he was best known for tagging with Josh Alexander or the North. 51 00:06:21,720 --> 00:06:30,720 When he got to AEW he was kind of taught in that tag team with, we forgot to mention him last week. 52 00:06:30,720 --> 00:06:37,720 Oh, the black guy that was with Christopher Daniels and Franky Couserre. 53 00:06:37,720 --> 00:06:49,720 Oh, Scorpio Sky. Yes, he was kind of caught with Scorpio Sky and that weird tag team with the guy from UFC, right, the promoter guy. 54 00:06:49,720 --> 00:06:52,720 Oh yeah, I remember that, that was a good period of time. 55 00:06:52,720 --> 00:07:03,720 Yeah, he was always kind of lost in the shuffle. By the way, Scorpio Sky was something we forgot to mention last week when we were talking about for God and beginning TNA or AEW guys. 56 00:07:03,720 --> 00:07:13,720 But it's like you forget how good of a character he really is and even when he first came to NXT, it was that character but he didn't have an edge. 57 00:07:13,720 --> 00:07:25,720 And it wasn't until the Javon Evan stuff where he broke Javon's jaw that you saw the evolution of like, oh he has that vicious side to him when it needs to come out. 58 00:07:25,720 --> 00:07:33,720 And it helped elevate his game to another level. It's weird that his North American title run is better than his NXT Championship run. 59 00:07:33,720 --> 00:07:45,720 But he fits WWE better. Swerve is probably a better in-ring, in-ring worker than Ethan Page and he brought the character work with him, but he can go in a ring. 60 00:07:45,720 --> 00:07:57,720 Some of the other people, Jade is a better character than a wrestler. She fits WWE better. Daniel Bryan is probably a better wrestler than he is a character. He probably fit AEW better. 61 00:07:57,720 --> 00:08:10,720 Like there are certain guys that you can look and go, yeah, he fits this better, he fits this better. That's why people like us have clamor for MJF to go to WWE because he's a character that can also wrestle. 62 00:08:10,720 --> 00:08:23,720 So maybe that would fit him long run, but you know, that we're not on that page. Ethan Page is one of those guys. Ideally for me, I always thought like that kit Wilson role that he has with the Miz right now. 63 00:08:23,720 --> 00:08:34,720 I always thought if you put the Miz and Ethan Page together, like Mentor Menti, that it would be that passing of the torch when Miz is ready to fire that Ethan Page could just take Miz's spot. 64 00:08:34,720 --> 00:08:44,720 Yeah, possibly. You know, that's always like to put up in comers with Miz and that's why you see kit Wilson with him right now. But yeah, I'm just very high on Ethan Page right now. 65 00:08:44,720 --> 00:08:51,720 I've really enjoyed his character since really the North American Championship run in NXT to now. And he's not really adjusted much with the character. 66 00:08:51,720 --> 00:09:06,720 It just kind of fits well. It's an old school heel. It's a great in-ring worker. And I'm just very happy for Ethan Page's success. Other news and notes here, Dr. Trey from Saturday Night's Mid event. It was announced on RAW, Logan Paul's Outfer at least six months with torn triceps. 67 00:09:06,720 --> 00:09:12,720 And now the straight profits in Seth Rollin on the same page, following Montez Ford's and Seth Rollin's match on RAW. 68 00:09:12,720 --> 00:09:24,720 Austin Thierry was he he channeled LaParca and became the chairman of WWE or Sean Spears. How do you want to look at it? And he was on a man on a mission. 69 00:09:24,720 --> 00:09:34,720 He's still a tag team champion. That championship will also be held with Braun Breaker, kind of a free bird rule thing that Paul Heyman mentioned as they discussed, Logan Paul's injury backstage. 70 00:09:34,720 --> 00:09:46,720 Big night for Austin Thierry to break through a little bit. A very talented guy, kind of a background guy from the most parts since joining the vision. Almost stale at times as well. 71 00:09:46,720 --> 00:09:57,720 Whether you like Logan Paul or not, this is a bummer. I mean, he's a great character. He's put it together as an in-ring worker and he's there every week. 72 00:09:57,720 --> 00:10:09,720 He is not a part-time celebrity that pops in every now and again. This is someone that has been doing it each and every week. So it's a bummer. Earlier word again six months. He is saying he'll be out. He'll be back sooner. 73 00:10:09,720 --> 00:10:17,720 Anybody with the vision, Dr. Trey is snake bin. I felt bad for Logan Paul and the fact that the vision really just can't get any traction right now. 74 00:10:17,720 --> 00:10:27,720 Yeah, and I saw somebody also bring up. I don't know if you saw this. They've literally been injured in the order they joined the vision. 75 00:10:27,720 --> 00:10:38,720 Seth and Seth got hurt and then Braun Breaker. He was the second one that got hurt. Bronsory third one to get hurt. Logan Paul joined. He's the fourth. Like it's literally been straight down the line. 76 00:10:38,720 --> 00:10:55,720 I love in a sense that WWE is so sticking to their guns with the vision because in years past, if you saw something this way, the stable was almost snake bin with injuries like this. They would have pulled the plug and gone in different direction. 77 00:10:55,720 --> 00:11:07,720 And they haven't done that. I mean, they did a little bit when Seth had his initial injury and they redirected and went too much more of a younger faction with Braun Breaker being the top guy in the group. 78 00:11:07,720 --> 00:11:17,720 But they stuck to their guns and it's going to be interesting if they add anybody new to the group to kind of fill in that Logan Paul role for the time being. 79 00:11:17,720 --> 00:11:31,720 Or if they just, because I mean, I'm sure you saw the pictures of Bronson Reed. Bronson Reed looks amazing, which means he's probably going to be back soon. Maybe they don't need to add anybody else to the mix knowing that Bronson Reed will be back sooner than later. 80 00:11:31,720 --> 00:11:39,720 But it's just, I applaud them for sticking to their guns, keeping the vision around and just kind of adjusting on the fly as needed. 81 00:11:39,720 --> 00:11:54,720 Yeah, it's been a snake bin stable. I agree. You know, I think most tables they'd be like, let's pull the plug on this, but they can't because there's a lot that's coming from this. I mean, this is supposed to be the catapult for Braun Breaker. This is the catapult for Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Austin Theory. There's a lot riding on this. 82 00:11:54,720 --> 00:12:05,720 It just has been completely snake bin and ever since early November, anybody associated with the vision has been basically dropping out other than Austin Theory and Paul Heyman. 83 00:12:05,720 --> 00:12:21,720 So, yeah, you've got Rollins, Breaker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul. I mean, it's what happened like AW three or four years ago, which will kind of bleed into our conversation here in a little bit in regards to AW's Renaissance in a way. 84 00:12:21,720 --> 00:12:33,720 Is there a lot of top guys and girls that were out on injury during a period of time where they could not capitalize and they could not get any traction. And it's funny because everybody does not do as many outshows as they used to anymore. 85 00:12:33,720 --> 00:12:37,720 And the guys and girls are still getting injured here and it's affecting storylines. 86 00:12:37,720 --> 00:12:46,720 And it's, that's the weird thing. And it's also all fluke injuries. I mean, the AEW stuff, you could kind of say, it was wearing tear from all the crazy stuff they were doing in the ring. 87 00:12:46,720 --> 00:12:52,720 But this is just like fluke injury fluke injury. I mean, Bronson Breaker got hurt by a table. 88 00:12:52,720 --> 00:13:08,720 It was like, it's just, it's flukeish and weird. And like you said snake bit, but hey, like it's, they've got so many, like half their storylines in raw are tied into the vision in some way, shape or form. 89 00:13:08,720 --> 00:13:20,720 So that's why they can't really just shelve the group because there's so much tied into it. They kind of have to just adjust on the fly and you know, make it work. 90 00:13:20,720 --> 00:13:26,720 In regards to Saturday and to May event, I don't know if this is considered a PLE or just a special event. 91 00:13:26,720 --> 00:13:35,720 But all in all, I thought it was a decent show to help move some storylines further like Jaden Ria, Sol and Becky, Vision and Rawls and Prophets. 92 00:13:35,720 --> 00:13:45,720 WWE doesn't always need to hit home runs with PLEs or their special events that they do. And a special event like this Saturday and it's May event got the job done to move the stories forward. 93 00:13:45,720 --> 00:13:53,720 It was a show where, you know, I'm not like I'll go back and rewatch it. I won't go back and be like, oh, that was the night that this happened or that happened. 94 00:13:53,720 --> 00:14:02,720 I just thought it was a good like runway into whatever they're doing next and building towards. 95 00:14:02,720 --> 00:14:13,720 And sometimes you just need that with chose Dr. Trey. You don't need to hit home runs and doubles and triples are just as good. And I thought WWE delivered on a double of what they were doing with their storylines. 96 00:14:13,720 --> 00:14:16,720 What was your thoughts and takeaways overall from Saturday and it's May event? 97 00:14:16,720 --> 00:14:25,720 I thought it was a really, really solid wrestling show. Like you said, there's nothing in here. I may go like that street profits Vision tag match was actually really good. 98 00:14:25,720 --> 00:14:37,720 I may go back and rewatch that one just for I love what when Montez and Angel Doc is our motivated. They are one of the best tag teams to watch and that was a really, really fun tag match. 99 00:14:37,720 --> 00:14:46,720 But it showcased Ethan Page it gave Jay Cargill a big win in her quest to take down Rhea. 100 00:14:46,720 --> 00:15:05,720 You know, page and Brey versus the airs is will forces it is what it is. But you know, Becky and Saul it helped further that storyline and then still also further the Becky Jessica's car storyline, which I guess that's a storyline. 101 00:15:05,720 --> 00:15:12,720 I don't know where that goes because this has been now like a six month slow burn with them. I think it's just a footnote player. 102 00:15:12,720 --> 00:15:19,720 Well, I mean Jessica cars for a wrestler that we may have that wrestler referee match at some point. 103 00:15:19,720 --> 00:15:35,720 At least possible Jessica holder home, you know, but yeah, it was just really good to kind of further some good storylines and give some people some time on a decent sized stage to showcase what they're true talents. 104 00:15:35,720 --> 00:15:46,720 I mean, this was Saturday's main event. I mean, this is kind of what may WW realize, Ovo's family could be a big star because of how he handles himself on that stage against Cody of your month's back. 105 00:15:46,720 --> 00:15:51,720 And we see where he's at now. Saul Rupin, Bailey, we're on that show and you see we're saw that now. 106 00:15:51,720 --> 00:16:03,720 So some of these shows are, you know, testing grounds for how good some of these young talents are. And if they can step up and elevate their game on, you know, maybe of the minus level of it. 107 00:16:03,720 --> 00:16:06,720 Are you in a car wash? 108 00:16:06,720 --> 00:16:14,720 I know I literally I'm sitting in my car and it just started pouring down around. I was like, what is that noise? 109 00:16:14,720 --> 00:16:22,720 Yes, Guy opened up and just this is actually is been raining in Alabama for nine straight days. 110 00:16:22,720 --> 00:16:26,720 Wow, well, at least you don't have any droughts going on. It's always the opposite of it. 111 00:16:26,720 --> 00:16:37,720 We were we weren't a drought. That's why everybody's happy we're getting all this right. We were actually like almost like an I guess third degree drought. I guess there's like four degrees of drought. We were in a third degree in our area. 112 00:16:37,720 --> 00:16:42,720 And we've literally had about nine inches of rain in the last seven days. 113 00:16:42,720 --> 00:16:48,720 Hey, more on this weathercast coming up soon. Patreon.com/SRTU podcast switching gears. 114 00:16:48,720 --> 00:16:59,720 The AW double or nothing recap this past Sunday from the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York quickly going through the results area at MJF defeating Darby Allen to win the AW World Championship. 115 00:16:59,720 --> 00:17:12,720 Canos get to catch the evening because it's go caught up to win the AW International Championship John Moxley defeats Kyle Riley to retain the continental championship Adam Copeland and Christian Cage's feet FTR to win the AW World Tag Team Championship. 116 00:17:12,720 --> 00:17:20,720 He's retained her AW Women's Championship over her car will see the Jamie Haydor and Chris Stattlander will last for a defeated Samojo in an Owen Hart tournament match. 117 00:17:20,720 --> 00:17:27,720 Swarth Strickland defeated Bandito in an Owen Hart tournament match. Athena defeated Mina Shirakawa in a Owen Hart tournament match. 118 00:17:27,720 --> 00:17:34,720 And Jericho the Hertz and the elite defeated the demand down Calis family and the dogs in a stadium stampede match. 119 00:17:34,720 --> 00:17:57,720 There's a lot of news and notes about this one. I think one of the big talking points coming out of this is the clothes of the show Darby Allen being taken out in a stretcher Kevin Knight coming out to make the safe against MJF and Kevin Knight using an opportunity to hit the UFO splash on one Darby Allen who was sitting on the stretcher still Kevin Knight moving to the heel roll now on Dynamite this past week. 120 00:17:57,720 --> 00:18:05,720 Speedball Mike Bailey breaking up jet speed and they will be facing off at this Wednesday's edition of Dynamite for the TNT Championship. 121 00:18:05,720 --> 00:18:13,720 We've been talking about Kevin Kevin Knight for a little while. I was called Kevin Hart because the Owen Hart tournament Kevin Knight we've been talking about for a while the jet. 122 00:18:13,720 --> 00:18:25,720 It has felt like this thing has been brewing for some time with the direction would be it feels like AW looks at him as a as a future guy that they can rely upon and he certainly has the in ring ability. 123 00:18:25,720 --> 00:18:33,720 There are some charisma there his Mike work has always been okay to me but I'm a fan of Kevin and I enjoy his work. 124 00:18:33,720 --> 00:18:54,720 I liked the twist at the end of AW double or nothing. I would have liked to seen the breakup of jet speed be a little bit more like Shawn Michaels Marty Genetti ask rather than what we saw in a segment and then a following match because jet speed to me at least as a fan of AW I was a they were a favor to mine. 125 00:18:54,720 --> 00:19:16,720 I thought that they should have had an opportunity to held the AW Tag Team Championship. I think it's kind of wild that they had two separate runs as the trio champions but never as a tag team they were really good thrown together AW homegrown tag team even though they came from different parts one being TNA with Mike Bailey and on the independent seed throughout the country in Canada Kevin I being from New Japan. 126 00:19:16,720 --> 00:19:42,720 I would have liked to see that be executed a little bit more maybe I don't know I don't know how you would have potentially executed that but it did that kind of left things and made me feel like they're at least rushing through that while Kevin night is he he's not fully aligned with MJF he still says that he has his eyes set on the AW World Championship at MJF. 127 00:19:42,720 --> 00:19:50,720 That has been the big news item from this Dr. Trey is one Kevin night what are your thoughts on the TNT champ turning heel and attacking Darby Allen. 128 00:19:50,720 --> 00:20:11,720 I mean I like it and part of it is because in my head when you're booking undersized guys they either got to be the plucky baby face and that's the role that him and you know speedball were kind of in or they got to be kind of like the cocky arrogant heel and I think we've seen that he can play that role. 129 00:20:11,720 --> 00:20:34,720 We talked about this like two months ago two or three months ago like we were seeing kind of the foreshadowing of this I'm with you I like after his promo with MJF where MJF's trying to give him is is just do for for making the move against Darby and he's like no I still don't like you I still want I still want the title. 130 00:20:34,720 --> 00:20:59,720 That's when you could still like kind of kept the tension between him and speedball where they're like still friends with speed balls not happy with the new attitude to kind of build up to that big turn I think with the way they pulled it off on dynamite you kind of saw that coming and it did feel a little bit rush is like you can play this out for a few more weeks to get to another big match. 131 00:20:59,720 --> 00:21:28,720 I think it's the right move for his character given his size and this allows this also buys him time because when you're an undersized guy and you're known for your athleticism and your high flying ability it's hard to be a heel unless you do really crappy things and a lot of younger guys when on the indies when they're trying to be a bad guy they still do all the cool moves but and so it's hard to get the crowd to really hate you. 132 00:21:28,720 --> 00:21:57,720 You do some underhanded stuff you take out some other guys but it also allows you to cheat to win keep your baby faces strong while you're building yourself up I think it's the right move at least in the short term I do think that his biggest thing down the line is he's going to be a really top baby face but a lot of top baby faces need that quick little experiment on the heel side to get the big baby face turned to be a top guy later are you when we saw Cody do that. 133 00:21:57,720 --> 00:22:10,720 You know during his run so I mean it happens to Shawn Michaels you know all these guys in the history of wrestling come up as a baby face turn heel for a little while come back later as a bigger top star baby face. 134 00:22:10,720 --> 00:22:37,720 Obviously in that match Dr. Trey MJF becoming a three time AW world champion he is back on the throne it was about six or seven weeks and to me this has been the straw that serves the drink per se right it's ever since MJF has been back I think there's been a catapult of like now this feels like the AW that we know and love and miss from three or 40 years ago which will certainly discuss here in just a few moments. 135 00:22:37,720 --> 00:23:02,720 Thoughts on MJF being back in the throne the feeling was on our show here that Darby was crowned AW world champion to kind of get a quick little bit of new cycle during WrestleMania week and that that that defending the championship on dynamite collision was not for the long run that's what it got us to here for double or nothing thoughts on MJF back again as a three time AW world champion. 136 00:23:02,720 --> 00:23:25,720 I mean he's your most bankable star like if somebody if you're going to say and this is something you talk about for six years the AW you need must see guys you need guys that are must see TV MJF is the most must see person on their roster whether it's in the ring or on the microphone he's the guy that kind of sets the tone for the company. 137 00:23:25,720 --> 00:23:54,720 You know mox is that super soldier that you can always rely on but MJF is must see TV so having him on top means everything he does is must see TV which thing is more eyes on your product and allows you to kind of grow around that as well is like we always talk about the pillars of AW but in a sense when you're booking a TV show you're booking a wrestling show you need pillars on the show that everybody can kind of rely on like. 138 00:23:54,720 --> 00:24:14,720 Oh I know MJF is going to say something that pisses me off or I know mox is going to have a hard hitting match or the bucks are going to do this you need those certain stable points to build compelling television off of and MJF's that guy at the top of the card that kind of sets the tone for everybody. 139 00:24:14,720 --> 00:24:34,720 Dr. Trey I'm experiencing a lot of nostalgia right now it's been 27 years since the New York Knicks have been in the NBA finals I was 1999 I was 13 years old the Knicks are back in the NBA finals beginning this Wednesday and similar to the Knicks for the first time in over 20 years this one to be actually 25 years. 140 00:24:34,720 --> 00:25:02,720 Adam Copeland formerly known as edge and Christian cage formerly known as Christian the tag team edge and Christian now known as Cajun Copper Copen Cage are the AW world tag team champions for the first time in 25 years when I heard that statistic I couldn't believe it and then when I really thought about it like oh wow yeah no it was like 2001 was the last time that they were WWE tag team champions kind of surreal kind of poetic great match fun. 141 00:25:02,720 --> 00:25:08,720 And I love seeing these guys back together here they're in the final you know chapter stages of their careers. 142 00:25:08,720 --> 00:25:20,720 Yeah and it's a different incarnation of them because Christian still playing that you know mega heel type character like asshole he's playing with the asshole. 143 00:25:20,720 --> 00:25:48,720 Yeah he's an asshole like like I love that his character has not changed since the Patriarch you break up he's still that guy we saw during that match at FDR you know them making a little just the cash with his mama or dax's mama so I love that it's not nostalgia for the sake of nostalgia it nostalgia at least with a fresh coat of paint so you're not seeing the same race being run so I had that nostalgia and then you know that's the way to do it. 144 00:25:48,720 --> 00:26:07,720 And then you know that's Copeland getting involved in the match as well like that's all the fields right there that's that's kind of what we love when we see these you know older guys get back to the top of the cars like yeah give me all the nostalgia but at least don't make it obvious and I think that they've done a really good job with that. 145 00:26:07,720 --> 00:26:27,720 And then finally your doctor tray they had 15,000 15 people in attendance reported sell out crowd a Louis Armstrong stadium in Queens New York for a W double or nothing there was a lot of reports leading up to the show that they did not have any cops available for the rest of the rest of the years to give out all that stuff and that they were tight on availability for the show which is great. 146 00:26:27,720 --> 00:26:46,720 It felt like to me that AW felt back this past Sunday it's been growing over the last six to eight months but if there was a time where you're like man it feels like the company's back it was the cherry on top here was this past Sunday. 147 00:26:46,720 --> 00:27:13,720 Do you feel like AW is quote back and are they experiencing a renaissance that we haven't seen in three to four years back to the good old days some may say to an AW was really cranking you know it's it's been a been a hard road road for them I mean they were on top of the game then they were in lesser arenas and and there's a lot of poor viewership and attendance and they're just firing all cylinders and it's really great a lot of good momentum. 148 00:27:13,720 --> 00:27:17,720 Do you think that they're back. 149 00:27:17,720 --> 00:27:29,720 I mean I would say for all intensive purposes they're back I do like all the stuff that's going on I can say the earlier the only thing I might criticize maybe the women's divisions a little weaker now but the matches are good. 150 00:27:29,720 --> 00:27:40,720 They don't really have the star power and the women's division that they had in years past but I mean the tag division looks good and the men's division looks good. 151 00:27:40,720 --> 00:27:55,720 I mean you got you know caught up the downcast and a lot of really good storytelling and stuff going on it does feel like they're back to where they're at. 152 00:27:55,720 --> 00:28:03,720 Yeah Dr. Trey I think we are you experiencing some rain there or we may be losing you a little bit. 153 00:28:03,720 --> 00:28:15,720 My signal cut out for a minute there so I don't know how much of that we got we got we got it all so not bad so we'll keep it going for those that are listening just the weather I'm sorry guys. 154 00:28:15,720 --> 00:28:30,720 No no problem yeah for those wondering Dr. Trey is not peeing while we're doing the show it is rain going off the top of his car as the experiences the night they've read but we'll cover that again more on on our weather cast podcast that we do here on the still real touch show. 155 00:28:30,720 --> 00:28:36,720 So yeah AW feels like they're back it's time for them to capitalize on this. 156 00:28:36,720 --> 00:28:48,720 Dr. Trey Ariel Hullani had a very interesting point that's been made and you heard Tony Khan ask this in a couple of the scrums media scrums and conference calls that he does lead it into the shows even for the ROH. 157 00:28:48,720 --> 00:29:11,720 So we're going to do a show recently where there's an opening here next April time frame WrestleMania season for somebody to do a domestic show in the United States and really capitalize on WWE being in Saudi Arabia for WrestleMania and a lot of people are hoping that AW can do that Tony Khan is teasing and saying stay tuned. 158 00:29:11,720 --> 00:29:27,720 We got a strike while the iron is hot right now especially right now like they should be announcing this like in the next two to three weeks if they have something up their sleeves because there's a lot of positivity with AW there's a lot of good story telling going on in the AW lot of good in re action. 159 00:29:27,720 --> 00:29:41,720 It's again reminiscent of that launch in 2019 to like mid 2022 where I just felt like they were in their prime of a very very short time frame company. 160 00:29:41,720 --> 00:29:56,720 Is this something that you believe AW should be doing should they be taking advantage of the open window next April for domestic show in the United States of big rest in show in the United States while WrestleMania is overseas in Saudi Arabia. 161 00:29:56,720 --> 00:30:25,720 Absolutely because in my head and this this leads into a little bit with the announcement they had about their my AW app where there goes our partner up with some independent promotions I'm like look if WWE is out of town and we saw this you know we saw them talk about this when they may be in as with that WrestleMania was going to be in Saudi Arabia was you know all the independent shows that typically piggyback off WWE's WrestleMania season. 162 00:30:25,720 --> 00:30:53,720 It's like well now you got AW they could do the same thing they can make this a week long event somewhere partner with you know some of these independent promotions sprinkle some of their talents on these shows and just make it almost like a wrestling festival that runs an entire week long because you know the the quote unquote big dogs away you can make a huge thing out of this and really capitalize on that momentum. 163 00:30:53,720 --> 00:31:10,720 And then they saw as brand your own April show that you guys will be the wrestling festival that everybody runs to every year for the independent stuff and not WrestleMania season so there is an opportunity to kind of capitalize on this and really grow the brand if it's done right. 164 00:31:10,720 --> 00:31:33,720 Alright let's switch gears here finally and preview and predict WWE clash in Italy it'll be this Sunday from the inalpe arena in Toronto Italy I'm probably missed pronouncing any of all that stuff I just said so bear with me it'll be airing the first hour on ESPN will be having 2pm east here in the United States. 165 00:31:33,720 --> 00:31:54,720 The one of the matches that will be airing on ESPN doctor trail will be Cody Rhodes defending the undisputed WWE championship against Gunther I'm going to take Cody Rhodes in this one I think he retains I think Gunther is set for a bigger storyline I did my creative book in on last week show where I think this leads to Gunther versus Lesnar at Somerslam and many inapolis Minnesota. 166 00:31:54,720 --> 00:31:58,720 Your thoughts here Cody versus Gunther unsputed WWE title. 167 00:31:58,720 --> 00:32:11,720 Yeah I'm taking Cody also I'm kind of leaning into what you said I think they we do Cody Randy rematch at Somerslam Gunther Rock at Somerslam so I'm with you I'm taking Cody to retain as well. 168 00:32:11,720 --> 00:32:19,720 Next match here is Rhea Ripley defending the WWE Women's Championship against Jade Cargill Dr. Troy who do you like in this one? 169 00:32:19,720 --> 00:32:36,720 Yeah this one's a toss up for me because you know we saw Rhea and Charlotte actually bond this week as center's made event but then we've talked about also Jade and Charlotte at some point there's going to be a Charlotte Alexa break up at some point. 170 00:32:36,720 --> 00:32:51,720 I'm going to take Rhea to retain mainly because she just got the title at WrestleMania and maybe potentially set up Rhea and Charlotte 3 at Somerslam so I'm going to take Rhea to retain. 171 00:32:51,720 --> 00:32:57,720 I'm with you on this one Dr. Troy I'm going to take Rhea Ripley to retain the WWE Women's Championship as well. 172 00:32:57,720 --> 00:33:10,720 Next match here is for the Intercontinental Championship Women's Intercontinental Championship it's a rematch from Saturday to May and Event. I went to Ruka 1 by DQ you have Becky Lynch defending against Soul Ruka. 173 00:33:10,720 --> 00:33:19,720 Dr. Troy I am a big Soul Ruka fan I think the future and longevity of Soul Ruka I think she can be a major player in this company at some point. 174 00:33:19,720 --> 00:33:33,720 By all accounts online by Soul Ruka's accounts she has oddly stumbled a little bit out of the gate on the main roster whether it be on the microphone or on various spots. 175 00:33:33,720 --> 00:33:46,720 It seems like at times the moment is catching her a little bit and I think for a lot of people that could be a huge detriment to the future of their in-ring career on the main roster. 176 00:33:46,720 --> 00:33:56,720 But I think that this is going to be something that we look back on a year or two from now or even less and go remember that period of time Soul was stumbling on the microphone or in the ring Mr. Spot. 177 00:33:56,720 --> 00:34:07,720 I mean the stuff with Jessica Carts at an event and main event was not smooth whatsoever and that's happened a couple times so far and I think we look back at this and go yes she really bounced back quick and I still fully believe that. 178 00:34:07,720 --> 00:34:11,720 I think if everything was fine all cylinders I would pick Soul Ruka in this one. 179 00:34:11,720 --> 00:34:18,720 I think that she still needs a little bit more time if they want to put a title change on her with Becky Lynch. 180 00:34:18,720 --> 00:34:25,720 So I'm going to take Becky Lynch to retain the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship this Sunday in Italy. 181 00:34:25,720 --> 00:34:35,720 Yeah I'm actually I would say the same thing if Soul was firing on all cylinders and super hot and everybody was behind her like you felt that organic swell. 182 00:34:35,720 --> 00:35:01,720 Yeah I take Soul but yeah and you can go back years ago on this show I said Soul Ruka was going to be a huge star of the main roster but she's not ready like the moment is catching her and she's not shining like she should be so I'm going to take Becky to retain as well knowing that at some point you know Soul's Soul's star will shine. 183 00:35:01,720 --> 00:35:15,720 Yeah eventually she is going to be a major player in the company I mean absolutely no doubt this is not any like I'm not losing any faith whatsoever this is just somebody that needs to to bat a thousand for the next couple of months basically to to get back on there. 184 00:35:15,720 --> 00:35:25,720 Next match is tribal combat for the World Heavyweight Championship Roman Reigns defense against Jacob Fattu. Dr. Trey who do you like in this one? 185 00:35:25,720 --> 00:35:45,720 I'm going to take Roman I love Jacob I think Jacob is fantastic but I think the storyline is better if you make Jacob is servant for a while because it which we have I don't know who the good guy is in all this because Jacob is fighting for his family but he's doing he'll stuff in the ring. 186 00:35:45,720 --> 00:36:05,720 Roman's playing like a baby face with my own part but the stuff he's saying sounds like a heal I don't really know who to cheer for but I think the storyline is better with Jacob being forced into servitude and then eventually getting the upper hand down the line maybe at summer slam so I'm going to take Roman right now in tribal combat to retain. 187 00:36:05,720 --> 00:36:19,720 I'm going to take Roman to retain as well and it's some of the things that you said you know Roman is reportedly going to be around for a little bit even though I think his dates and June are fluctuating where he may be off television I think some people could look at that go well maybe there's a window where they put the title on Jacob. 188 00:36:19,720 --> 00:36:34,720 I don't think that's a case I think Roman is around for a little while to eventually drop to Oba family that is what I've been saying since coming out of WrestleMania and I will stick by that to your point Dr. Trey or Jacob Fattu has to acknowledge Roman Reigns as a tribal chief that's where I think Jacob is. 189 00:36:34,720 --> 00:36:52,720 I think Jacob aligns with the new bloodline or the bloodline 2.0 or bloodline rebooted with the usos and joins up with them and it's a similar path to the I think it's a similar play out of the playbook that they did with Jusso building him up where Roman and J. 190 00:36:52,720 --> 00:37:18,720 I think that's what you're going to see but on a much bigger more established level with Jacob Fattu and ultimately I'm with you I think eventually Jacob Fattu is the one that claims the throne from Roman Reigns but I just don't think it's this weekend like it could be I know you pointed to some or slam it could be next year's WrestleMania whenever Roman is is on his way out. 191 00:37:18,720 --> 00:37:30,720 I just feel like that maybe he wants to pass the torch to Jacob Fattu and that one so I like you Dr. Trey taking Roman Reigns and that takes us to what I presume will be the main event it'll be Oba Femmy vs Brock Lesnar 2. 192 00:37:30,720 --> 00:37:47,720 I am going to take Brock Lesnar in this one I outlined it on last week's podcast for those who missed it I think that we're getting a trilogy here I think that's what they like to do with Brock we saw most recently with his feud with Cody Rhodes and I think that trilogy ends at night of champions in Saudi Arabia for one last week. 193 00:37:47,720 --> 00:37:58,720 Maybe for one last major payday for Brock Lesnar because they pay very very well and then that lead them to his eventual retirement match in Minneapolis, Minnesota at some restaurant which I presume will be against. 194 00:37:58,720 --> 00:38:08,720 And I think he takes the victor in this one and then eventually loses to Oba Femmy in the third one so I'm taking Brock Lesnar to feed Oba Femmy this Sunday in Italy Dr. Trey. 195 00:38:08,720 --> 00:38:26,720 Yeah I'm taking Brock as well I'm just kind of figuring some kind of like low blow shenanigans to lead to an F5 that puts him away much like you said like you can't let Oba lose clean it's gotta be you gotta pull out all the stops because you still want Oba looking strong. 196 00:38:26,720 --> 00:38:39,720 I mean it can't be just like one low blow in F5 I mean it's gotta be something pretty big otherwise you might lose a little bit of that run but you also have to make look you also have to at times make Oba look defeatable. 197 00:38:39,720 --> 00:38:51,720 You don't want him falling into that whole couging gold bird range where like or even you know Roman during that five year run where it's like yeah like yeah the challenge looks good but you can't pick against him. 198 00:38:51,720 --> 00:39:19,720 You have to put a some chink in the armor somewhere and maybe it was chink is he has gigantic balls and Brock kicked him and that's why he lost I don't know how you phrase that but you have to you have your even your baby faces have to look like they can be defeated at times so you gotta put one little mark on Oba at least one little you know ding in the armor to at least create that credible threat when people come up against him. 199 00:39:19,720 --> 00:39:47,720 It feels this is also a subtle knowledge from Dr. Trey it appears in Sir Man is back the head of creative based on all that twist of creative where you know balls have to be involved so
