A sixteen-year-old student, Kevin Laurin, was fatally shot on the North Side of Columbus on July 7th, sparking a swift arrest the next day. Eighteen-year-old Misean Griffin, from the Northeast Side, is now charged with murder and held in Franklin County jail. Evidence including text messages and a backpack at the scene led detectives to Griffin. Kevin, a valued member of Horizon Science Academy’s STEAM-focused community, is remembered by his school and loved ones.
