- 0:01Speaker 1: Now seven wor presents, no Mark some own show.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Hello, welcome to the show. Oh well, I don't know
- 0:17Speaker 2: what to tell you. I don't know what to tell you. Listen,
- 0:19Speaker 2: we got through the pandemic. We'll get through this. We'll
- 0:22Speaker 2: get through this. We got through eight years of the Blasio.
- 0:24Speaker 2: We'll get through this. We'll go over everything that happened,
- 0:27Speaker 2: what's going to happen. A couple of things. We now
- 0:31Speaker 2: have all the results in all the numbers. Only half
- 0:34Speaker 2: of New York voted, but that's high turnout. It was
- 0:36Speaker 2: a big, big turnout, biggest turnout in a couple of decades.
- 0:40Speaker 2: But it was still only about fifty percent of the
- 0:43Speaker 2: voters showed up. It went over two million. Looks like
- 0:47Speaker 2: if you look through the numbers, it's pretty apparent that
- 0:49Speaker 2: Andrew Cuombo had no chance ever at any time, and
- 0:53Speaker 2: it had nothing to do with Curtis. If you added
- 0:55Speaker 2: in Curtis's votes, he still would be several points behind him, Donnie.
- 1:00Speaker 2: So there's there was no chance, zero chance for Andrew
- 1:05Speaker 2: Cuomo to win none. You know, there's this fantasy if
- 1:09Speaker 2: Curtis dropped out, well, then those votes would go to
- 1:12Speaker 2: Cuomo and then he would win. First of all, if
- 1:14Speaker 2: Curtis were to drop out, you figure about half the
- 1:17Speaker 2: votes would go to Cuomo, half would stay home. There's
- 1:19Speaker 2: actual polling data that shows that. But even if he
- 1:22Speaker 2: got every single voter of Curtis's, which would be impossible,
- 1:26Speaker 2: but even if he did, he still would lose to
- 1:29Speaker 2: Mom Donnie by a few points. So Cuomo never had
- 1:31Speaker 2: a chance. The real problem is everybody can't stand the guy.
- 1:38Speaker 2: And he had a horrible record as governor, just a
- 1:41Speaker 2: disastrous governor. He did horrible things to New York and
- 1:46Speaker 2: the single handedly caused the crime wave with his no bail,
- 1:49Speaker 2: no jail in closing the prisons and all that. And
- 1:51Speaker 2: then the list I could read you the list of
- 1:53Speaker 2: twenty horrible things he did to New York. So he
- 1:55Speaker 2: and he left in disgrace. He resigned in disgrace. I mean,
- 2:02Speaker 2: he just didn't have a chance to add to that.
- 2:04Speaker 2: I mean, it'd be one thing if you were really
- 2:05Speaker 2: likable guy. Remember Maryon Barry mayor of DC who got
- 2:09Speaker 2: caught in all kinds of scandal. But he was a
- 2:11Speaker 2: likable guy. He was a charming guy. People kind of
- 2:14Speaker 2: had a little affection for him that this is not
- 2:16Speaker 2: the case with Clomo. Nobody likes the guy and he
- 2:20Speaker 2: never had a shot. Now, the problem is Culomo had
- 2:25Speaker 2: no chance at all because another reason, main reason, he
- 2:29Speaker 2: was totally out of shape politically, just totally rusty, out
- 2:33Speaker 2: of shape politically. And he came alive the last week
- 2:37Speaker 2: or two he got some energy. He started doing speeches, rallies,
- 2:41Speaker 2: he started doing appearances, he started to sound sharper, he
- 2:44Speaker 2: started to get a bit of a message. But those
- 2:46Speaker 2: the last two weeks. Then for the first two months
- 2:49Speaker 2: he was just awful, totally rusty, totally out of shape politically.
- 2:54Speaker 2: He was absolute disaster. In the primary. In both those
- 2:57Speaker 2: debates he got wiped out and had nothing to do
- 3:00Speaker 2: with the rank choice. He lost every round of the
- 3:02Speaker 2: popular vote. And then the primary ended, and then he
- 3:06Speaker 2: decided to run on some third party and he didn't
- 3:09Speaker 2: really run. He did no appearances, he did no rallies,
- 3:12Speaker 2: knowing he did very few interviews. There was a month
- 3:14Speaker 2: or two of him doing absolutely nothing. That's when he
- 3:18Speaker 2: needed to get the momentum going. Then even in the general,
- 3:23Speaker 2: there was a period remember not long ago, he took
- 3:25Speaker 2: ten days off. Who takes ten days off in the
- 3:28Speaker 2: middle of a campaign, So he didn't get it together
- 3:31Speaker 2: until last two. He's way too late, way too late.
- 3:34Speaker 2: You got it. You know, that's why candidates go to
- 3:36Speaker 2: Iowa a year or you know, a year and a
- 3:40Speaker 2: few months before in elections to get the messaging honed,
- 3:42Speaker 2: to get in shape. It's like spring training. You gotta
- 3:46Speaker 2: get up to speed. He never did any of that.
- 3:48Speaker 2: A curtis the reason he was great in the debates.
- 3:50Speaker 2: This guy was working twenty four to seven for a year,
- 3:53Speaker 2: I mean rally after rally, speech after speech, NonStop. Anybody
- 3:57Speaker 2: wanted to interview him, Just the opposite of Qualma. So
- 4:01Speaker 2: Cuomo screwed up the primary debates. He screwed up the
- 4:04Speaker 2: first mayor old debate, did okay in the fourth one,
- 4:07Speaker 2: but again way too late. And then he had the
- 4:09Speaker 2: other problem of being this tired old fossil, this old
- 4:13Speaker 2: dinosaur politician from another era. And Chuck Schumer, you better
- 4:17Speaker 2: take notice of that. Today's Democratic voters have had enough
- 4:21Speaker 2: with you old dinosaurs from other eras. Kathy Hochel, you too,
- 4:25Speaker 2: you better take notice of this. So it was a
- 4:28Speaker 2: historic turnout. It looks like it'll be about two point two million.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Those other bad news it was a very bad night
- 4:37Speaker 2: for a lot of reasons. Alvin Bragg easily won reelection.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Alvin Bragg won reelection Westchester County. We were hoping to
- 4:45Speaker 2: get a Republican county executive. The Democrat Jenkins won. Not
- 4:50Speaker 2: the only thing that is in Westchester County. The county
- 4:52Speaker 2: executive doesn't really do much of anything. The legislature runs everything.
- 4:56Speaker 2: But and it's just in that county. It's not a
- 5:00Speaker 2: count executive doesn't have a lot of power there New Jersey.
- 5:03Speaker 2: It looks like Chitarelly. I mean, we liked the guy,
- 5:07Speaker 2: but he wasn't a great candidate. He was okay, but
- 5:09Speaker 2: he wasn't great that maybe Mikey Cheryl wasn't much of
- 5:11Speaker 2: a candidate either. But the MAGA base there in New
- 5:15Speaker 2: Jersey did not turn out for Chittarelly. They're not too
- 5:18Speaker 2: fired up about Chitarelly. So he didn't just lose, he
- 5:23Speaker 2: really lost. This is his third time and he's losing
- 5:26Speaker 2: by more and more each time he runs. So it's
- 5:29Speaker 2: it's not a good sign. Mom. Donnie, big night, big
- 5:33Speaker 2: victory speech, he was the star of the night. I
- 5:38Speaker 2: guarantee you, I guarantee you. AOC is not happy about this.
- 5:42Speaker 2: AOC who wants to be the leader of the Waco
- 5:46Speaker 2: side of the party is now no longer that. It's
- 5:49Speaker 2: Mom Donnie. He's the first. I think he's all these things.
- 5:54Speaker 2: He's the first Muslim mayor. He's the first Indian mayor.
- 5:58Speaker 2: I could add to the He's the first mayor without
- 6:00Speaker 2: a job, never never worked, never did anything. He's the
- 6:04Speaker 2: first mayor who just became a citizen two weeks ago.
- 6:06Speaker 2: He's the first mayor who's twelve years old. I mean,
- 6:09Speaker 2: there's a lot of that stuff now. He shocked a
- 6:11Speaker 2: lot of people with the victory speech. There were a
- 6:15Speaker 2: couple of Curtis was in some sort of a look
- 6:17Speaker 2: like a bar restaurant, like a pub on the Upper
- 6:20Speaker 2: East Side doing his thing, and Mom Donnie had a
- 6:25Speaker 2: big theater with a lot of people there. Cuomo for
- 6:29Speaker 2: his election night rented the Zigfield Ballroom, which is right
- 6:34Speaker 2: over there. It's right across the street from us. I
- 6:36Speaker 2: can see it out the window. The Zigfield Ballroom is
- 6:39Speaker 2: a very expensive venue. It's a very nice venue. People
- 6:44Speaker 2: have their weddings there, big charity gallows. It's a very
- 6:47Speaker 2: nice venue, but it's very expensive. I don't know what
- 6:51Speaker 2: this Cuomo is thinking. Well, I know what he's thinking.
- 6:53Speaker 2: He's got these billionaire donors, and again, they're lovely people,
- 6:57Speaker 2: but when they get into politics, they don't know what
- 6:59Speaker 2: the hell they're doing. And as long as they're paying
- 7:01Speaker 2: for it. Cuomo takes the most enormous, big, beautiful venue.
- 7:05Speaker 2: It's a venue that will hold a couple thousand people.
- 7:08Speaker 2: He only had a couple hundred, so there was a
- 7:10Speaker 2: lot of empty space. There no reason to take such
- 7:13Speaker 2: an expensive place, but he did. It's the donor's money,
- 7:16Speaker 2: what does he care? And he did his speech. It
- 7:19Speaker 2: was a nice speech. It was a good speech.
- 7:21Speaker 3: This campaign was to contest the philosophies that are shaping
- 7:27Speaker 3: the Democratic Party, the future of this city and the
- 7:32Speaker 3: future of this country. Well, all right, this campaign was
- 7:38Speaker 3: the right fight to wage. And I am proud of
- 7:43Speaker 3: what we did and what we did together.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Yeah, he went on to he made this whole thing
- 7:48Speaker 2: about we gave it our all, We fought our hearts out,
- 7:51Speaker 2: we left everything on the field. Thank god a light
- 7:55Speaker 2: detector wasn't hooked up to him. There would have been
- 7:57Speaker 2: a massive blackout all over the East coast. But gave
- 8:00Speaker 2: it all. He didn't campaign at all for the first
- 8:03Speaker 2: couple of months. Even in recent times, he took ten
- 8:06Speaker 2: days off in the middle of the elect I wouldn't
- 8:07Speaker 2: call that leaving it all on the field. But here's
- 8:10Speaker 2: more of Cuomo.
- 8:11Speaker 4: Two million voters, the largest number in modern political history,
- 8:17Speaker 4: cared enough to show up in a municipal election, and.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Forty two percent voted.
- 8:25Speaker 4: For us on an independent line.
- 8:30Speaker 2: All right, that's pretty good.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Now.
- 8:31Speaker 2: The only thing is you got to keep repeating this.
- 8:33Speaker 2: You got to keep remembering this. If Curtis were not
- 8:36Speaker 2: in the race, if Cuomo had every last Curtis voter,
- 8:39Speaker 2: which is impossibly, wouldn't have gotten them all. But if
- 8:41Speaker 2: he had every Curtis voter, he still would have lost
- 8:43Speaker 2: by a few points. And Mom Donnie won. This was
- 8:46Speaker 2: the part nobody quite expected. Mom Donnie did win a
- 8:50Speaker 2: majority of the votes, almost fifty one percent. He did
- 8:55Speaker 2: win a majority of the votes.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Congratulations to Zor on Monday.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Now that's great. He still can't pronounce the guy's name.
- 9:06Speaker 2: It's Mom Danni, but Cuomo always says mom, dammy.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Congratulations to Zoran Mondalmi.
- 9:18Speaker 5: No no no, no, no.
- 9:19Speaker 4: No, no, no, that is no, that is not right.
- 9:25Speaker 4: That hey that is not right, and that is not us.
- 9:30Speaker 2: That is not us. Clomo is the most gracious man.
- 9:34Speaker 2: That's not us. He's a very gracious, humble when the
- 9:37Speaker 2: camera's on, as soon as it's all oh, if he's
- 9:39Speaker 2: threatening everybody, yelling, screaming at everybody.
- 9:41Speaker 3: From the bottom of my heart, I thank each and every.
- 9:46Speaker 2: One of you. I love you for.
- 9:49Speaker 4: The fight you made, for the soul that you showed,
- 9:54Speaker 4: and the example that you said.
- 9:57Speaker 2: He loves you. You could drop dead, you'll step right
- 10:00Speaker 2: over your body, But when the camera's on, when the
- 10:03Speaker 2: MIC's on, he loves you. So now here's the thing
- 10:08Speaker 2: about mom, Donnie. We know he's a phony, we know
- 10:11Speaker 2: he's a con man, but we didn't know which way. Well,
- 10:13Speaker 2: it looks like this is bad because when he made
- 10:16Speaker 2: his big victory speech, that's normally when you congratulate Andrew
- 10:20Speaker 2: Cuomo in a good fight and all that. But he
- 10:23Speaker 2: got kind of ugly in the victory speech. This is
- 10:27Speaker 2: something he didn't do in the campaign, Trilly. He was
- 10:29Speaker 2: always the smiling salesman. He was a different guy in
- 10:36Speaker 2: this victory speech. He got angry at times. He got
- 10:38Speaker 2: really aggressively angry. Not just a Trump but at Cuomo.
- 10:43Speaker 2: He said, I hoped I never utter his name again.
- 10:45Speaker 2: I mean, it's a kind of anger you don't usually show.
- 10:48Speaker 2: So if this is the real hymn, this is not
- 10:51Speaker 2: a good sign.
- 10:51Speaker 6: In this new age we make for ourselves, we will
- 10:55Speaker 6: refuse to allow those who traffic in division and hate
- 11:00Speaker 6: to pity us against one another.
- 11:02Speaker 2: There was this little campaign pitting you against the billionaires.
- 11:06Speaker 2: The billionaires the right to get you and the gender.
- 11:08Speaker 6: It will freeze the rents for more than two million rents,
- 11:11Speaker 6: stabilized tenants, make bus is fast and free, and deliver
- 11:21Speaker 6: universal childcare across in the city.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, now that all sounds great. Now you know
- 11:26Speaker 2: he can't do it, but he tapped into something and
- 11:29Speaker 2: this is what really the election was all about, and
- 11:31Speaker 2: all over the country he was right about affordability. People
- 11:35Speaker 2: are upset about prices, and it's not just product and play.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Inflation is actually coming down. It's gonna you know, it
- 11:43Speaker 2: takes a while. Biden had it at record heights. It's
- 11:44Speaker 2: coming down. But still people feel that everything is too expensive,
- 11:49Speaker 2: and they're talking about insurance and rent and all this stuff.
- 11:53Speaker 2: People just think everything's too expensive and it's not that
- 11:56Speaker 2: it's Trump's fault or anybody's fault. But when they feel
- 12:00Speaker 2: that they'll vote against the establishment, they'll come out in
- 12:02Speaker 2: great numbers and just they just hate the establishment, they
- 12:05Speaker 2: blame them, and they'll go with the anti establishment candidates do.
- 12:09Speaker 6: We won because we insisted that it no longer would
- 12:12Speaker 6: politics be something that is done to us. Now it
- 12:16Speaker 6: is something that we do.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I don't know what that meant, but it sounded good.
- 12:21Speaker 6: Hope over turney, hope over big money and small ideas,
- 12:27Speaker 6: hope over despair. We won because New Yorkers allowed themselves
- 12:33Speaker 6: to hope that the impossible could be made possible.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I hope this guy's not gonna yell like this
- 12:39Speaker 2: for four years. You get a headache after a while.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Now.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Actually the reason he's yelling Cuomo's in a massive ballroom,
- 12:44Speaker 2: but there's only a handful of people there. This guy's
- 12:48Speaker 2: he really had a crowd. This guy had thousands of people.
- 12:51Speaker 2: In fact, even the press told me there was like
- 12:54Speaker 2: a press line. You had to wait in line like
- 12:56Speaker 2: an hour to get in. There was so much press
- 12:57Speaker 2: to cover this.
- 12:58Speaker 6: Every New Yorker whither you voted for me, for one
- 13:02Speaker 6: of my opponents, or felt too disappointed by politics to
- 13:05Speaker 6: vote at all. Thank you for the opportunity to prove
- 13:09Speaker 6: myself worthy of your trust.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Now let's remember it was the weirdest election, just a
- 13:14Speaker 2: strange election. First of all, the Democrats. You got to
- 13:17Speaker 2: be mad at them. Look what the Democrats did to
- 13:19Speaker 2: the Democrats. They nominate a crazy socialist and then after
- 13:28Speaker 2: that that's a problem. So now they tell you to
- 13:30Speaker 2: vote for this disgraced governor who had to quit in
- 13:32Speaker 2: total disgrace, who everybody hates that. This is the choice
- 13:34Speaker 2: they gave you. The Republicans are R. Curtis is a
- 13:37Speaker 2: pretty good guy, but there's no Republican Party. There was
- 13:40Speaker 2: no machine behind him, no ground game, no get out
- 13:43Speaker 2: the vote game, no anything. And you end up with
- 13:47Speaker 2: You end up with Mom, Donnie, my friends.
- 13:50Speaker 6: We have toppled a political dynasty New York tonight. You
- 13:56Speaker 6: have delivered.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Now the other thing it's do We don't have the clip,
- 14:04Speaker 2: but he did say one point something thank you to
- 14:07Speaker 2: Andrew Cuomo, and I'll be happy to have to never
- 14:10Speaker 2: utter his name again. Well, okay, if you want to
- 14:16Speaker 2: look at the silver lining or whatever, I think we're
- 14:19Speaker 2: done with Cuomo. We don't ever have to worry about
- 14:21Speaker 2: him taking office again. So you've probably finally rid of Cuomo.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Although that guy's like herpies. It always comes back, you know,
- 14:28Speaker 2: it never goes away forever. But it's been it's just
- 14:34Speaker 2: been a weird, weird night. Everybody very up, so we
- 14:36Speaker 2: don't know what's going to happen. The transition is underway.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Eric Adams says that he had a transition team putting
- 14:45Speaker 2: together everything a new mayor would need to have, see documents, books,
- 14:50Speaker 2: explanations of things. They've been putting that together for weeks
- 14:54Speaker 2: and they are beginning the process of handing it over
- 14:56Speaker 2: to the Mom Donnie team. Now there's a lot of
- 15:00Speaker 2: de Blasio people on this Mom Donnie team, so they
- 15:04Speaker 2: have some experience in city hall. But anyway, we've got
- 15:08Speaker 2: a lot to get to. We'll go over the mail
- 15:11Speaker 2: race throughout the show. We'll get to Jack Smith. It
- 15:15Speaker 2: turns out Jack Smith is Watergate times a million, bugging
- 15:18Speaker 2: people's phones, even the President of the United States. He
- 15:21Speaker 2: even tapped his phone. So, Woodward Bernstein, where are you?
- 15:27Speaker 2: You should be on this story. But we'll get to
- 15:29Speaker 2: all of this coming up. We'll take some calls next
- 15:31Speaker 2: to see what people have to say, hey, once again,
- 15:34Speaker 2: Curtis was not a factor. He didn't cost anybody to race.
- 15:38Speaker 2: If you took every Curtis voter and added it into Cuomo,
- 15:41Speaker 2: Cuomo still loses by a few points. But we'll take
- 15:44Speaker 2: some calls. Next, eight hundred three to two one zero
- 15:48Speaker 2: seven ten. Is the number eight hundred three to two
- 15:51Speaker 2: one zero seven ten, the Moon.
- 15:53Speaker 7: Show, delivery the news before it is on seven ten
- 15:58Speaker 7: WR A lot.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Of people upset today. Uh, let's take some calls. Let's
- 16:03Speaker 2: go to Mike in New Jersey. Mike, how you doing.
- 16:07Speaker 5: I'm great? Well, okay, Mark, Uh, we're looking out wounds
- 16:11Speaker 5: here in New Jersey. But for those people who are
- 16:14Speaker 5: pointing at Curtis, my question is this, if if Cuomo
- 16:18Speaker 5: is such a political uh professional, he should have known
- 16:23Speaker 5: that the third party.
- 16:24Speaker 2: No, no, Curtis. Curtis had nothing to do with Cuemo's loss.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Curtis had nothing to do with it. If you could,
- 16:28Speaker 2: you could take every Curtis voter added into Cuomo's column.
- 16:31Speaker 2: He still lost by a few points, and Curtis had
- 16:33Speaker 2: nothing to do with Cuomo's loss. Let's go to Phil
- 16:37Speaker 2: and Queen's Phil, how you doing?
- 16:39Speaker 7: Hey, I wanted to apologize to you. I did confuse
- 16:42Speaker 7: you with somebody another, uh the other day. So I'm sorry,
- 16:46Speaker 7: you're the best.
- 16:48Speaker 2: We don't know what you're talking about, but thanks.
- 16:51Speaker 7: No, I thought you were a little down on Curtis,
- 16:54Speaker 7: but I apologize.
- 16:57Speaker 2: You got the wrong shot.
- 16:59Speaker 7: Let's and it was like Crystal Knock last night, only
- 17:02Speaker 7: without the broken glass. It's really really disgusting and I
- 17:08Speaker 7: just can't can't get over it. And it's a sad day.
- 17:13Speaker 7: The only good part is maybe, uh you know, maybe
- 17:19Speaker 7: having the sky is the tittro ahead of the Democrat Party.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Will Well, it's bad for the Democrats. You're right, it's
- 17:24Speaker 2: not good for them. Also, we got rid of Andrew Cornwell,
- 17:26Speaker 2: that's a good thing. I mean, you hope they never
- 17:28Speaker 2: see this guy again. But it's a bad thing. Listen,
- 17:31Speaker 2: it's it's this is like a second pandemic. Well, it's
- 17:34Speaker 2: a pandemic. We'll get through it.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Now.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Remember Donald Trumps president. That's the good news. He can
- 17:39Speaker 2: should anything happen bad here, crime, whatever, he can do something.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Send in the National Guard, figure out something, send in
- 17:45Speaker 2: federal agents. It's Trump, He'll figure out something. Also, remember Hokeel,
- 17:52Speaker 2: this this is the end of Hokeal, she'll be responsible
- 17:55Speaker 2: from Mom Downie. That picture of them arm in arm
- 17:57Speaker 2: will be used against her, So you really only have
- 17:59Speaker 2: one of mom, Donnie. If you get a good governor
- 18:02Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman, at least Stephanic somebody a year from now,
- 18:05Speaker 2: they can actually they have the power to remove Mom, Donnie.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Let's go to Bob in New Rochelle, Bob, how you doing.
- 18:13Speaker 2: I've been better, Mark, I've been better.
- 18:15Speaker 1: It just boggles the mind. And that many people can
- 18:17Speaker 1: be that stupid.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Well apparently they can.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Yes, And you're also right, there is one silver lining
- 18:28Speaker 1: in all this.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Did we lose him? Nope? I guess we lost him. Bob.
- 18:35Speaker 2: What's the silver lining?
- 18:37Speaker 7: That we won't have to hear that annoying nasally voice anymore?
- 18:40Speaker 2: Which one? Cuomo? You won't have to hear him talk
- 18:46Speaker 2: to you like you're stupid. Yeah, you won't have to.
- 18:50Speaker 2: But again, he's like herpies. He always comes back. It
- 18:52Speaker 2: always comes back. Let's go to Shelley and Long Island. Shelley,
- 18:57Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 18:59Speaker 1: Hey, good morning said for New York.
- 19:02Speaker 7: Do you think that Jack Smith or any of.
- 19:05Speaker 5: These other corrupt judges, et cetera are ever going to
- 19:08Speaker 5: be arrested?
- 19:08Speaker 1: Are we ever going?
- 19:09Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Jack Smith, will will Jack Smith. It looks
- 19:12Speaker 2: like they got him. We'll get to this a little later.
- 19:13Speaker 2: It looks like they really got Jack Smith on some
- 19:15Speaker 2: stuff right now. Where are you in Long.
- 19:17Speaker 7: Island in the Siacid area.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Oh that's Nassau County. You got Bruce Blakeman, you got
- 19:23Speaker 2: Anne Donnelly reacted. You're in good shit?
- 19:26Speaker 1: God?
- 19:26Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, thank god.
- 19:28Speaker 2: That's like a model for the whole country. Bruce Blakeman,
- 19:30Speaker 2: best county executive in America. Let's go to Bill Lafayette,
- 19:34Speaker 2: New Jersey. Bill, How you doing.
- 19:38Speaker 8: I'm doing pretty crowmy Mark. I am convinced that Manhattan
- 19:41Speaker 8: and all the democratic boroughs are loaded with a bunch
- 19:44Speaker 8: of educated idiots. Sheryl and Mandami campaign to go after Trump.
- 19:51Speaker 8: What happened in nonpartisanship. Let's work together to make this
- 19:54Speaker 8: place a better, better world to live in.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that's gonna happen. That's not going to happen.
- 20:01Speaker 8: But DOMI is gonna be for criminals. And they interviewed
- 20:06Speaker 8: a retired police officer from New York and New York
- 20:09Speaker 8: and he mentioned that there will be a mass.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Accident by the way, well listen, there's some cops they'll
- 20:15Speaker 2: tell you it's gonna be a mass exodus. There's some
- 20:18Speaker 2: cops that tell you there won't be a max mass
- 20:20Speaker 2: exodus for reasons you don't think of. First of all,
- 20:24Speaker 2: a lot of these guys, especially they're older, they got
- 20:26Speaker 2: a pension they're working towards. Then they don't give up
- 20:28Speaker 2: the pension. Also, when you get one of these soft
- 20:31Speaker 2: on crime, uh crazy mayors, the job actually becomes easier.
- 20:36Speaker 2: You don't have to go chasing criminals around, you know,
- 20:38Speaker 2: in fact, you're supposed to not respond so much. It
- 20:41Speaker 2: becomes a much easier job. So there are some that
- 20:43Speaker 2: might leave as a result, but some that might not
- 20:47Speaker 2: just want to stay and get that get that uh
- 20:49Speaker 2: that pension. Let's go to Michael. Where are you, Michael, Manhattan?
- 20:54Speaker 9: Oh yes, Manhattan. First lad with glebs for you. From
- 20:58Speaker 9: that I heard, I told her that you were my
- 21:04Speaker 9: morning vitamins.
- 21:05Speaker 2: You have regards from me from Sarah At iHeart.
- 21:10Speaker 9: Yeah, I met her at the event.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Well, Sarah, I heard, do we know Sarah At?
- 21:15Speaker 9: I heard she has an email addressed.
- 21:19Speaker 2: It's like four hundred people working here. I don't know
- 21:22Speaker 2: there must be a couple of.
- 21:24Speaker 9: Next point that people haven't noticed is that the proposedal
- 21:30Speaker 9: in California for redistricting went through.
- 21:36Speaker 2: We all noticed it, of course we noticed it.
- 21:40Speaker 9: Yeah, but it's going to spare spare real trouble for
- 21:45Speaker 9: the House of represent Well.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Actually, some people think not. Some people think not because
- 21:50Speaker 2: the fact that it went through will make it easier
- 21:51Speaker 2: for the Republicans to do the same thing in all
- 21:53Speaker 2: the other states with less objection. If the Democrats can
- 21:56Speaker 2: do it, they'll be able to do it. Where are
- 21:57Speaker 2: you in Manhattan? Is this a tough question? We lost them. Hey,
- 22:06Speaker 2: when we come back, we'll talk to the Dean himself,
- 22:08Speaker 2: Ed Rollins. We'll see what he thinks about what happened
- 22:12Speaker 2: last night. We'll get to Ed next on seven to
- 22:14Speaker 2: ten wor Marc Simone on wor. Well, let's talk to
- 22:21Speaker 2: the Dean himself, Ed Rollins. He's run more campaigns, more
- 22:24Speaker 2: of the successful campaigns than anybody on Earth. Ed Rollins,
- 22:28Speaker 2: How you doing well?
- 22:30Speaker 1: Thank you? How are you? No?
- 22:31Speaker 2: I'm good? What the hell happened last night?
- 22:35Speaker 1: We got our bots kicked meeting Republicans at the end
- 22:39Speaker 1: of the day, Democrats heart maneuvers and certainly had and
- 22:45Speaker 1: what but at the end of the day, what they
- 22:46Speaker 1: did is they created one crazy candidate here in New York,
- 22:49Speaker 1: which we'll have to win with the new mayor and
- 22:52Speaker 1: experienced and certainly socialists by inclination, and two progressive women
- 22:57Speaker 1: who got new governors of Virginia and New Jersey. The
- 23:02Speaker 1: women I worry about more because they're articulate and they
- 23:05Speaker 1: had an interesting story and they blew us out. I mean,
- 23:07Speaker 1: the margins were away better than anybody anticipated. So first
- 23:12Speaker 1: thing we got to do is we got to shoot
- 23:13Speaker 1: all the posters and at least at least the posters
- 23:16Speaker 1: they're giving bad numbers and getting the trenches. This is
- 23:20Speaker 1: the reality is a year from now is when it
- 23:23Speaker 1: all matters. This president as president loses this majority in
- 23:28Speaker 1: the House and the Senate serving in the House as possible,
- 23:32Speaker 1: then he took us in the last two years in
- 23:34Speaker 1: legal entanglements and potential impeachments and all the rest of it.
- 23:39Speaker 1: So he's got to basically get his focus in his
- 23:41Speaker 1: White House, his teams focused on those midterms that they
- 23:46Speaker 1: have been focused to date. You got to pick the
- 23:48Speaker 1: twenty or thirty members that are vulnerable and you can
- 23:51Speaker 1: do everything you can. They build up their resources. You
- 23:55Speaker 1: gotta do a real examination of what did happen to
- 23:57Speaker 1: us yesterday? No delusion, no uh uh. Democrats went out
- 24:02Speaker 1: and they got organized. They turned people out. There's still
- 24:04Speaker 1: a lot of anger out there in this country and.
- 24:06Speaker 2: They have to deal with it now, Ed Rollins, you've
- 24:08Speaker 2: seen them all come and go. Can you reassure us
- 24:11Speaker 2: that we are once and for all done with Andrew Cuomo.
- 24:14Speaker 2: We're not going to see him again in a race,
- 24:15Speaker 2: are we?
- 24:17Speaker 1: Absolutely not. That's lucky. I hope he runs for president
- 24:23Speaker 1: and gets the nomination of the Democratics of kids. No, no,
- 24:27Speaker 1: he's he's finished and I don't know what he does
- 24:31Speaker 1: but at the end of the day and go live
- 24:32Speaker 1: on his government pensions. But he ran a terrible campaign.
- 24:36Speaker 1: At the end of the day, people didn't turn to them. Yeah,
- 24:41Speaker 1: even even the governor, governor or the other offices. He
- 24:43Speaker 1: said this. Yeah, I think people are tired of the
- 24:46Speaker 1: legacy and and he did. He didn't make his case well. Uh.
- 24:51Speaker 1: And the fact that he rebuilt Maguardia and the train
- 24:55Speaker 1: station is not what people are looking for today. How
- 24:58Speaker 1: do you make their life better.
- 24:59Speaker 2: So so uh explain mont DOMI to us, he's a
- 25:03Speaker 2: he's a good salesman. He is a nice, glib, fast talker.
- 25:06Speaker 2: He sounded very slick. Uh. But there's no substances, no resume,
- 25:11Speaker 2: no no history of a job. Well how did he
- 25:13Speaker 2: do this?
- 25:16Speaker 1: You know, that's going to be a big story and
- 25:18Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm gonna look into it a lot more
- 25:20Speaker 1: than I have today. Uh Uh, I mean it's a
- 25:23Speaker 1: you know, I've talked about this for several weeks now,
- 25:25Speaker 1: and he's a new phenomenon. He turned young people on
- 25:28Speaker 1: because I think people just tired the status quo and
- 25:31Speaker 1: they this is this is a tough city to live in,
- 25:33Speaker 1: it's a tough city to govern. Uh. And my my
- 25:37Speaker 1: worries is, what's what's this direction? It's going to be
- 25:40Speaker 1: AOC and Bernie Sanders coming in here as this senior
- 25:43Speaker 1: advisors or of the people that work for those two guys.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Don't guy always going to be his own team? As
- 25:50Speaker 1: he is, he kind of gets subs and people. I
- 25:52Speaker 1: doubt that. That's my my fear is not is not
- 25:55Speaker 1: him alone? Uh. You know, we've we've survived the Bill Blood,
- 25:58Speaker 1: the Blazos before, which was Garbal mayors. But this guy
- 26:02Speaker 1: has some dangerous thoughts and is it the people that
- 26:04Speaker 1: he puts around him are even more dangerous. That's what
- 26:07Speaker 1: I'm worry about.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Hey, but we used to have for mayor, like Rudy
- 26:09Speaker 2: Giuliani was a highly qualified guy when he ran. I mean,
- 26:12Speaker 2: incredible crime fighting history, Michael Bloomberg, incredible business resume. The
- 26:17Speaker 2: last three guys, the Blasio Adams and this guy are
- 26:21Speaker 2: just charming guys with no experience at all. What is
- 26:24Speaker 2: this some kind of new trend we got to worry about?
- 26:27Speaker 1: Yeah? I think so well to them, to him feel
- 26:29Speaker 1: miserably and uh, you know this, this one I think
- 26:32Speaker 1: will fail even worse because what his natural inclination is
- 26:36Speaker 1: and the people are going to advise him. Meaning again,
- 26:39Speaker 1: AOC's people are are not what this country. The city needs.
- 26:44Speaker 1: The city needs a pro business. Uh you know people,
- 26:48Speaker 1: people want the city to be stable, and it's not
- 26:51Speaker 1: going to be stable with their socialist policies.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Come in. Now, you live in New York, How bad
- 26:57Speaker 2: is this going to be? What?
- 26:58Speaker 1: What?
- 26:58Speaker 2: What's going to happen to us?
- 27:02Speaker 1: Uh? I'm an old man, so I'm just I'm just
- 27:04Speaker 1: hoping I survive it. Uh, you know, there's so much
- 27:08Speaker 1: there's so much to the city that h that's magical.
- 27:12Speaker 1: But right today it's it's struggling. And the change in
- 27:15Speaker 1: the demographics. The fascinating party is the early pool stuff
- 27:19Speaker 1: is that you know, Brooklyn is a is a place
- 27:23Speaker 1: that this guy went in and basically built the built
- 27:26Speaker 1: the base, and you know Staten Island is sort of
- 27:29Speaker 1: the Republican base and everything else is now different. We
- 27:33Speaker 1: have a very important governor's race. And what I bothered
- 27:36Speaker 1: me is there's some assumptions now that we've got a
- 27:39Speaker 1: great chance with our candidate to win the governorship. We do,
- 27:42Speaker 1: but we don't do that unless we put in a
- 27:44Speaker 1: reorganization together. And this is not as this is not
- 27:47Speaker 1: a party has put any organizations. This is the tacky.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Yeah, that's another problem. You've got a massive democratic machine
- 27:53Speaker 2: party ground game. Republicans is like three guys. There's no
- 27:57Speaker 2: Republican party here. What do we do about that?
- 28:00Speaker 1: Well, we got to change that. We we have to.
- 28:03Speaker 1: You know that the city is divided. We have five
- 28:05Speaker 1: five our own five party chairman and they all have
- 28:09Speaker 1: their own little fiefdoms. And the reality was we need
- 28:13Speaker 1: a strong party chairman. Uh, you know, and we've got
- 28:17Speaker 1: to have changed the change the way they've done things.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Yeah. And Jack Chitarelli, I mean this is his third
- 28:23Speaker 2: time he lost by an even bigger margins. That that's
- 28:25Speaker 2: it for him, Right, he can't run again, Kenny.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I assume though he should have been. You know, he can't.
- 28:32Speaker 1: He came close with the biggest argument they had. You know,
- 28:34Speaker 1: he came within three points last time. Well, he obviously
- 28:36Speaker 1: had his stories flown off this time. And and she
- 28:40Speaker 1: she's gonna be a tough candidate and what what are
- 28:44Speaker 1: you what are you running inst run that when she
- 28:46Speaker 1: was in Annapolis, that she basically wouldn't turn in her
- 28:49Speaker 1: fellow classmates who cheated. That's that was his big issue.
- 28:54Speaker 1: And the fact that her husband is a stock stocking
- 28:57Speaker 1: business made made some money. Yeah, at the end of
- 29:00Speaker 1: the day, she's an effective communicator, and she's likable, and
- 29:06Speaker 1: you've got to be likable of his business. And when
- 29:09Speaker 1: I saw the favoral numbers, the polling numbers came out early,
- 29:12Speaker 1: you know, the seven eight nine point margin among favorabilities
- 29:16Speaker 1: between the Democrats and Republican candidates, I knew if you
- 29:20Speaker 1: don't like somebody, you're not going to vote for him.
- 29:22Speaker 1: So you've got to have people you like homely you
- 29:24Speaker 1: don't like right now, Mandavi they like, we'll see it
- 29:29Speaker 1: along that.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Last Hey, Gavin Knew, some guy who's a redistricting plan
- 29:34Speaker 2: approved in California. Is that going to make it easier
- 29:37Speaker 2: for Republicans to do the same thing in their states?
- 29:39Speaker 1: Now? Absolutely absolutely, you know you got more margin in California.
- 29:44Speaker 1: But the more telling part is the guy who was
- 29:47Speaker 1: on the verge of being recalled several times, meaning the
- 29:50Speaker 1: governor of California, he's now at the hoist of Bowery.
- 29:53Speaker 1: He had a fifty four percent of proper rating in
- 29:55Speaker 1: these polls last night. So he's become a viable candidate
- 30:01Speaker 1: beyond California, and he's certainly gonna be if he has
- 30:04Speaker 1: to be view as one of the front runners of
- 30:05Speaker 1: the Democratic Party. I mean, I'd love to have the
- 30:07Speaker 1: opportunity to run against him. But at the end of
- 30:09Speaker 1: the day here we can't underestimate him as a messenger.
- 30:12Speaker 1: And certainly the House Republicans have got to have a
- 30:16Speaker 1: plan here because they're got to care to Donning Brook.
- 30:19Speaker 1: We lose that House and we lose him bout four
- 30:21Speaker 1: or five or ten or twenties. He's gonna make all
- 30:24Speaker 1: the difference in the world. But the reality is the
- 30:27Speaker 1: President's gonna have a bad two years if that happens.
- 30:30Speaker 1: So they got to do everything in this White House
- 30:32Speaker 1: against some of this formed policy stuff and what have you,
- 30:35Speaker 1: and be realistic. Realistic is president still has some popularity
- 30:40Speaker 1: on the base. None of the base was motivated by
- 30:44Speaker 1: him yesterday and in the election because he wasn't on
- 30:47Speaker 1: a campaign like he traditionally would be busy, busy guy
- 30:51Speaker 1: doing lots of other things. But it wasn't doing wasn't
- 30:53Speaker 1: focused on the campaigns, and that's his people come out
- 30:57Speaker 1: when he's on the ballot. He's not gonna be on
- 30:59Speaker 1: the ballot again, so you've got to cut a somehow
- 31:01Speaker 1: substitute something or someone for that.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Good point. Well Ed Rollins, Thanks for the wisdom, and
- 31:07Speaker 2: we'll talk again soon. Thanks for being with us, and
- 31:10Speaker 2: we'll do it again soon. All right, Take care, take care.
- 31:13Speaker 2: We'll go over the mail race some more. A little later.
- 31:16Speaker 2: We'll get to New Jersey, the governor's race. We've got
- 31:18Speaker 2: a lot to get to coming up. Don't forget Buck
- 31:20Speaker 2: and Clay at noon today, excellent show. They'll go over
- 31:24Speaker 2: what happened last night, as will Sean Hannity, who's here
- 31:28Speaker 2: at three o'clock, the most listened to radio show in America.
- 31:31Speaker 2: And then Jesse Kelly at six Jimmy Fayla, excellent show
- 31:34Speaker 2: every night nine to midnight. Here on seven ten WR
- 31:39Speaker 2: did Mark on Demand by setting up pre sad for
- 31:42Speaker 2: his podcast on.
- 31:43Speaker 8: The iHeartRadio app. Now back to Mark Simon on woor.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Hey, we'll go over the mail race. We'll got a
- 31:51Speaker 2: lot of stuff to get to in the next hour
- 31:53Speaker 2: on seven ten WR
