- 0:09Speaker 2: You are listening to the voice, Come on now, dig
- 0:12Speaker 2: me one and only Steve Harvey Man got a radio show.
- 0:17Speaker 1: What God doing, y'all? Huh?
- 0:20Speaker 2: What he doing? What he doing in your life? He
- 0:21Speaker 2: doing something? He moving, he working. Don't lose your patience though,
- 0:26Speaker 2: see I did that before. Don't lose your patience. Don't
- 0:31Speaker 2: get so sick of waiting that you take matters into
- 0:35Speaker 2: your own hands. Don't do that. Boy, you're blowing it.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Listen to me. You're listening to somebody who's done it
- 0:42Speaker 2: that way. I had a dream, I had a vision.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I had some hope, I have some faith, I have
- 0:49Speaker 2: some aspirations. But I got a little impatient waiting on it.
- 0:53Speaker 2: So I tried a couple other things. Move it along,
- 0:56Speaker 2: bo I can't tell you how I messed it up.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Then I messed it up then because gave me the
- 1:00Speaker 2: power of decision. What I had to do was then
- 1:03Speaker 2: after I took matters into my own hand, messed it up.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Now I guess what, he still got something fum me.
- 1:10Speaker 2: But nah, I gotta fix all the mistakes now, I
- 1:12Speaker 2: gotta straighten them out. I gotta I gotta suffer some consequences.
- 1:16Speaker 2: I gotta pay for my transgressions, all of that, all
- 1:19Speaker 2: of that, it's gotta go down. You can't do something
- 1:24Speaker 2: wrong and not pay for it. It's just you call it, calma,
- 1:28Speaker 2: call it whatever you want to call it. Every action
- 1:31Speaker 2: has an equal and opposite reaction every action. If it
- 1:36Speaker 2: just stays sunny all the time, you might think it's cool,
- 1:39Speaker 2: but there's gonna be a reaction to it.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Ain't no dark, ain't no shade, ain't no break, ain't
- 1:44Speaker 1: no rain.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Gonna be hard if it's just sunny all the time,
- 1:48Speaker 2: vice versa. So you need you need the opposite. You
- 1:53Speaker 2: need the darkness so you can get your break from
- 1:55Speaker 2: that sun.
- 1:56Speaker 1: You need the rain so you can nourish the roots.
- 1:59Speaker 2: So that's the sun. Can it can soak up the
- 2:02Speaker 2: sun and get the benefit of the sun. If you
- 2:04Speaker 2: don't get the opposite, you got a problem, man. And
- 2:07Speaker 2: it happens throughout nature, it happens throughout your life. Don't
- 2:11Speaker 2: think that you can do wrong and not have to
- 2:14Speaker 2: pay for that. You think this is man. We think
- 2:19Speaker 2: man because we'd have made a decision that we think
- 2:21Speaker 2: is best for us, and no matter how to affect
- 2:23Speaker 2: nobody else.
- 2:24Speaker 1: We got the right to make that call. No you don't.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Whoever is telling you that, whoever's misguiding you into the
- 2:30Speaker 2: gang life, telling you.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Yeah, man, you need to be this way to be
- 2:33Speaker 1: down with us. I'll tell you what.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Get yourself stuck on chuck with that gang. See how
- 2:37Speaker 2: many them be there for you. Oh they'll go around
- 2:40Speaker 2: the corner with you and start shooting. But look, okay,
- 2:43Speaker 2: when it's time to do some time and they can
- 2:46Speaker 2: lessen they sentence, you're gonna get that time.
- 2:48Speaker 1: They gonna point their finger dead at you.
- 2:50Speaker 2: I watched for eight hours all the time, man, I
- 2:52Speaker 2: watch Lock Up Raw all the time, all the time, man,
- 2:56Speaker 2: all the time. Ain't no real cold dudes out there,
- 2:59Speaker 2: just holding to the mantra and sticking to it. Even
- 3:02Speaker 2: the mob turned state side evidence go fed all that.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Now we are now the hood. We didne created this
- 3:08Speaker 2: ignorant mess called no snitching. With that ignorant mess, you
- 3:11Speaker 2: don't even understand. No snitching was created by criminals as
- 3:15Speaker 2: a cold of honor. If you do dirt and you
- 3:17Speaker 2: get busted doing the dirt, don't bring my name up.
- 3:20Speaker 2: If I was with you, that's a cold of honor
- 3:22Speaker 2: amongst the thieves. Now, so many code of honor thieves
- 3:25Speaker 2: that then came out of prison. They ain't gotten honor.
- 3:27Speaker 2: They done brought that stuff back to the street. Now,
- 3:29Speaker 2: that's all in the neighborhood. No snitching. No snitching, you
- 3:32Speaker 2: got to be crazy. That's for people who disobey the law.
- 3:37Speaker 2: That's who people have made a cold of honor amongst
- 3:39Speaker 2: themselves as thieves. Hey, man, if you get busted, don't
- 3:42Speaker 2: drag me down what you just do your time. Oh man,
- 3:45Speaker 2: you can't bring that stuff out here to me. I'm
- 3:47Speaker 2: a law biding citizen.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Dog. I'm trying to live right over here. Man.
- 3:51Speaker 2: I don't want no crack house up street from my
- 3:53Speaker 2: mama's house. I'm trying to do right out here.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Man.
- 3:56Speaker 2: You can't do wrong and expect wrong not to come
- 3:58Speaker 2: to you. To make a decision every day to do right.
- 4:03Speaker 2: God ain't got no protection. You on dirt. You got
- 4:05Speaker 2: what you got coming. You made a decision. You go
- 4:09Speaker 2: down there to get some you might get got See,
- 4:14Speaker 2: we got to come on.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I'm talking to so many men out here right now.
- 4:17Speaker 2: I should have said that in beginning, but a conversation
- 4:20Speaker 2: kind of got away from me. I was gonna talk
- 4:22Speaker 2: to you about something else this morning. But it's just
- 4:24Speaker 2: only man, because our communities. Man, it's just going to
- 4:27Speaker 2: the pot man, because it ain't nobody can about nobody else.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Don't nobody care When they see the young dude over
- 4:34Speaker 2: there doing wrong, look at them. Foods over the man.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Go over there and talk to one of them. Pull
- 4:38Speaker 2: them to the side.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Man.
- 4:40Speaker 2: You might not be able to approach the group, but
- 4:42Speaker 2: you can approach an individual.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Come in, young man, Let me talk to you. I
- 4:46Speaker 1: saw you the other day. Man.
- 4:47Speaker 2: You look like you got something going on in your life.
- 4:49Speaker 2: What's happening with you? Let me talk to you, man,
- 4:51Speaker 2: Let me share something I learned. I was doing what
- 4:53Speaker 2: you was doing.
- 4:55Speaker 1: You know.
- 4:55Speaker 2: It's like Tommy did a prank phone call one time
- 4:57Speaker 2: as a limo driver, and the dude the prank was
- 5:02Speaker 2: he called this limo company to ask this limo driver
- 5:05Speaker 2: to take him to this location late at night, and
- 5:10Speaker 2: the limo driver got a young business he going, yeah, okay,
- 5:12Speaker 2: I got you.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I don't normally work like that. But how long you
- 5:15Speaker 1: need it? He say? For just about an hour?
- 5:17Speaker 2: He said, Well, I'm gonna have to charge you for
- 5:18Speaker 2: the full three though, because a three hour minimum.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Tommy told him, now, I just need it for one hours.
- 5:23Speaker 1: He said, okay, I'll give you a break. Young man.
- 5:25Speaker 2: You're trying to do something. Where you want to go?
- 5:27Speaker 2: He gave an address. The man stopped writing. He said,
- 5:30Speaker 2: that's a bank. He said, yeah. He said, you want
- 5:34Speaker 2: to go to the bank at twelve thirty at night.
- 5:37Speaker 2: He said, yeah, And I'm going to be in for
- 5:39Speaker 2: a few minutes. And when I come out that bank,
- 5:42Speaker 2: I need for you to flow it. That to do
- 5:45Speaker 2: with the limo. He stopped writing. He said, hold on,
- 5:48Speaker 2: hold on, man, you want me to take you to
- 5:51Speaker 2: a bank twelve thirty at night. You gonna be in
- 5:54Speaker 2: there for a few minutes and you gonna come out,
- 5:57Speaker 2: and you want me to flow it. He says, I
- 6:00Speaker 2: don't do stuff like that. He said, you got the
- 6:02Speaker 2: wrong company. He said, what made you call here? He said, hey, man,
- 6:05Speaker 2: don't worry about that. You a limo company. You just drive.
- 6:08Speaker 2: He stopped and took the time out. He said, young man,
- 6:11Speaker 2: let me tell you something. He said, I've been down before,
- 6:14Speaker 2: I've been locked up before. It ain't pretty. He said,
- 6:18Speaker 2: that's what's wrong with you young people. Today instead of
- 6:20Speaker 2: going to get a job trying to work your way,
- 6:22Speaker 2: you're always looking for some fast money.
- 6:24Speaker 1: He said, I'm gonna tell you what I already know.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Don't go down there messing with them people's money like
- 6:28Speaker 2: that because they love that money way more than they
- 6:30Speaker 2: love you, and they gonna do something to you down there.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Now, you stop this foolishness.
- 6:34Speaker 2: And I'm not caring you knowwhere, but I'm gonna take
- 6:37Speaker 2: a little bit of time out to tell you something.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Don't go down here with messing with these people's money
- 6:42Speaker 2: because it ain't gonna go good. They gonna take care
- 6:44Speaker 2: of their business when they come to that money. Tommy
- 6:47Speaker 2: kept insisting to this man to pick him up in
- 6:49Speaker 2: the limo. It was a plank phone call. But the
- 6:51Speaker 2: point I'm making is the man took our time. He
- 6:54Speaker 2: could have just hung the phone up. But you know
- 6:56Speaker 2: what he said. He said, hold up, young man, let
- 6:58Speaker 2: me hip you to something had been locked up before.
- 7:01Speaker 2: He said, no, no, no, see I've done that when
- 7:03Speaker 2: I was young. Now I'm gonna stop it. I'm gonna
- 7:04Speaker 2: take some moment out to tell you I'm up here,
- 7:06Speaker 2: working man, trying to earn an honest living. I ain't
- 7:09Speaker 2: going back down there because I don't. They make you
- 7:12Speaker 2: eat what they want you to eat. You don't want
- 7:13Speaker 2: the food. You got to get up when they say
- 7:15Speaker 2: get up. You gotta stay where they say stay, live
- 7:17Speaker 2: with who they say live. He said, man, you don't
- 7:19Speaker 2: want that, and he just tried to talk the young
- 7:21Speaker 2: man out of me. You can change a young man's
- 7:24Speaker 2: mind with a conversation. A conversation can change a young
- 7:28Speaker 2: man's mind. Most of these young men that are misguided
- 7:31Speaker 2: ain't having conversations with real men.
- 7:34Speaker 1: They just not having them.
- 7:35Speaker 2: And it's up to us, who know what manhood iss,
- 7:38Speaker 2: to start delivering the message. The problem that we have
- 7:41Speaker 2: in our communities. We can solve ourselves. It's to escalate
- 7:44Speaker 2: it to a point because we who are men won't
- 7:47Speaker 2: stop on our corporate climb and our day to day
- 7:50Speaker 2: making money and trying to ball out. We won't stop
- 7:53Speaker 2: and grab some of these young soldiers and tell them
- 7:55Speaker 2: the truth about manhood. That's the real deal. Okay, sah,
- 7:58Speaker 2: I went there. I don't know where the cave.
