- 0:18one of us regular guys write a terrible children's book. We will take the
- 0:24deer four finger discounted. Welcome to fourthing a discount where this one we hit
- 0:44the review episode jib F zero six. It is ham Razzi. I am
- 0:48dead, oh and I am guy fresh from salivating over the thought of infinity
- 0:52Hamburgers. Yes, certainly, indeed I mentally thought of you on this,
- 0:55like what what would be guys Hamburger of choice and life for me? When
- 0:59I think of you and ham Burgers, I feel quarter Panda is the one
- 1:00you bring up the most. The answer is another hamp Probably, Yeah,
- 1:07I mean, oh, certainly. If I'm going to everyone's favorite fast food
- 1:11outlet and friend of the pot of McDonald's, yeah, it'd be a quarter
- 1:14pander with cheese. Absolutely. Do you remember a time when they did the
- 1:15quarter Panda without cheese? No, they actually had this and I used to
- 1:19eat it for a while. I only became a quarter pander guy I am
- 1:22about maybe three four years ago. I was always a big mask and if
- 1:25I get Macci's and that's always a big Mac, big Max being my go
- 1:27to forever. But quarter pand I always said a cord pander. I'm like,
- 1:30it's just a big cheeseburger. But then I have it, I was
- 1:33like, but it's also a lot better. Yeah. I mean, I
- 1:37think they've got different flavor combinations underneath the underneath the hood or underneath the bun
- 1:42um. Because I mean I was never a big Mac guy either. But
- 1:46then occasionally, you know, back in the back in the glory days,
- 1:49I don'd have the mac is app and and be like, we're doing a
- 1:51deer where you can get two big Macs for this reasonable amount of money.
- 1:53I'm like, well, yeah, i'd be foolish not to do that.
- 1:57That's the thing, And that's how McDonald's hooked to me as a kid going
- 1:59to the foot in. Then he's right because McDonald used to sponsor, whether
- 2:00it be the John Footy Club or the a f L or whatever. But
- 2:04then hand you these cards at the start, and it was Alsoso exciting because
- 2:07like, if Gelong can win by more than twelve points, you get a
- 2:08free big Mate. Oh my god. And they got me hooked, and
- 2:12they used to give one to everyone. So I just go around and say
- 2:15can I have your big Mac card and guys like yeah, sure, whatever,
- 2:17kid, Like I get to catch the big Macs because yeah. But
- 2:30the thing is, I remember they didn't have like little one per customer at
- 2:32the start. They eventually did they yeah, but for the first few games
- 2:38it was just like unlimited. So like you drive down. This is before
- 2:39we had the new highway. So I was trying to explain to Nicola recently.
- 2:43But by the way local reference, I get it. But here in
- 2:45Geelong we built a like an expressway because you could call it like a freeway
- 2:49to the side of the city. So you have to drive through the city
- 2:51to get to the twelve apostles and so you can avoid a shortcut. Yeah,
- 2:58we know, we know, you me through. Let's just take this
- 3:00side round. But do you remember when the football was on, the traffic
- 3:04was built up all the way down through the highway. Oh. Absolutely.
- 3:07You couldn't know anywhere when it was when it was like, you know,
- 3:08a public long weekend. Public holiday long weekends were the worst. I lived
- 3:12in nor Or Lane, right and which is about a ten to fifty minute
- 3:15drive from the city, but it was traffic the entire We up a butt.
- 3:16But I'm just like, well, we're not going anywhere today. But
- 3:19I remember, like, you're driving home from the footy with those big Mac
- 3:21cards and the life of McDonald's was just like wait, holding up the entire
- 3:24highway. It's just yes, that's how they got me hooked on Big MacX.
- 3:28Was was those cards at the footy. But I was never a pickle
- 3:30kid. I saw pickles off. Now I just go for him, like,
- 3:32yeah, pickles everything. Absolutely. I mean I still take that.
- 3:36Well, I'm being good kids, I'm not eating having had macas so far
- 3:39this year all ten eleven days. But I was also saying the same,
- 3:45just wet buys. So when he falls off that wagon, honestly I was.
- 3:50Today. I woke up and I'm like, I mean I've been sort
- 3:53of showing off potatoes, rice, pasta, bread, all that kind of
- 3:57business. It's terrible. No, it's actually not that bad. But this
- 4:00morning work, I'm like, I could really go, like a good salad
- 4:02role. I mean, I mean, you should be allowed to have a
- 4:05whole meal role. That's me and I think, I think I'll probably do
- 4:09that. Yeah, it's just there's nothing moderation, moderation absolutely, yeah,
- 4:14yes, yes, yes, but yeah, i'mos the same. I was
- 4:17always young, pickles come out of the quarter pound, but pickles stay in
- 4:19the big mac because I didn't realize because Nicholas is actually Nicola goes. You
- 4:24realize his pickles in the sauce, and I was like, fucking right,
- 4:27holy shit, piles his entire time. Women generally smarter than us, And
- 4:36tell you what else was smart this episode. I loved this episode. Not
- 4:40gonna lie, I really really really enjoyed this one. I appreciate you not
- 4:43lying about that. Yeah, I too enjoyed it. I meanly thought,
- 4:46okay, we're you know, sort of in the season eighteen, Weeds is
- 4:49going to be any good And look, I won't say this is like,
- 4:53oh it's a new classic and you know why I did that voice. But
- 4:58at the same time, I was like, this would not be out of
- 5:00play. This would be a perfectly acceptable Golden Age episode. Yeah, like,
- 5:04if this was in the Golden Age, you feel like it would have
- 5:06been even funnier like this premise. I was really surprised hadn't already been done.
- 5:11Yeah, because you know, in particular, I know it's a touchy
- 5:13subject and it's sad Princess Diana's death right was blaming on paparazzi. It's a
- 5:16wonder that didn't sort of do something like this after that. I think the
- 5:20wounds would have been a little bit top fresh then. Absolutely. I mean,
- 5:25you're very good with air dates. When when did this actually air?
- 5:29Have you got it written to Wikipedia? My friend here Wiki two thousand and
- 5:32seven, March twenty fifth, two thousand and seven, Okay, yeah,
- 5:34so in a decade. Yeah, you're pretty much right in the middle of
- 5:39the whole. I mean, the Papaiazzi paparazzi era has been going on for
- 5:43well since pretty much we've had camera, the Paris Hilton era. Well,
- 5:46yeah, but this was very much the Paris Hilton. Hear they even name
- 5:47check. Well, they give you Paris texting today, which I thought was
- 5:49a good gag. That's not a bad gag, but yeah. They also
- 5:53talked about Lindsay Loewen, Yes, which is one of my favorite moments.
- 5:57Seeing the gutter freckles. It's like in Hindese, I thought Simmons was so
- 6:00good again as the editor, he was. I mean, he's playing the
- 6:02hits. Yeah, But at the same time, it's like, these are
- 6:04pretty good hits. Yeah. If you're going to a steely Dan Concer,
- 6:08you want to play the hits, you're not going to complain. Yeah,
- 6:10that is correct. Yeah, and they're all hits. But it's like,
- 6:14oh, I mean, I think we've talked about this on past episodes where
- 6:18it's like, oh, there's been a bit of a reappraisal of this particular
- 6:21era of like very much when you're like, oh, yeah, give me
- 6:26a shot of so and so, and particularly gross when it's like, hey,
- 6:30you know who mine is turning eighteen years old to try and get some
- 6:33racy picks, like ah, why are we so gross? Why do we
- 6:36still look this up? Why am I clicking? They can't stop clicking?
- 6:43But yeah, we were right in the middle of it around this era,
- 6:45I think, and there's been a real reappraisal, and recently it's like we
- 6:47were too nice to you know, the likes of Paras Silton or Lindsay Lohan
- 6:50or Britney Spears, especially That's why people hanging shit on her baby. I'm
- 6:55like, guys, whatever you think about Paras Hilton, don't hang shit on
- 6:57her baby's head. Yeah. Wait till it turns you know, team or
- 7:00something, and then it's open seas it's still ugly, then go right ahead.
- 7:04Do you think now paparazzos are is a paparazzo paparazzi. I think a
- 7:10paparazzo is the singular. Paparazzi is multiple, multiple, Okay. Do you
- 7:13feel like that paparazzi is more respectable now? Celebrities? I think they still
- 7:16try and get like their the snaps of them at the beach and their families
- 7:19occasionally, They're still going to be always those shitheads out there. Absolutely,
- 7:23yeah. I mean I think it's more videos now, right, it really
- 7:27is. Yeah. I mean I'm always astonished that I think it's TMZ.
- 7:30Yeah. Well, I can't believe it's still a thing. Still a show.
- 7:32It's a show. Yeah, but they will, like, you know,
- 7:34sort of button people at the airport or on the street and say,
- 7:38hey, what do you think about such and such? Like I just came
- 7:41out to dinner and I thought they perfectly encaptulated that with Lenny and Carl here.
- 7:45Yeah, like just the whole We say, the celebrities, what are
- 7:47you complaining about? And then Lenny's like, how's that Robin Williams, of
- 7:49all people, Robin Williams haven't did with his family. You wouln't even take
- 7:53some time away from his family to take the funners of my kids or whatever.
- 7:56A relationship with celebrities is very, very fraud it is, yeah,
- 7:59isn't it, because you know, we always think they're complaining every nothing.
- 8:01You've got so much money, what are you complaining about? And you look
- 8:03at the life of celebrities, It's like, I can see the problems,
- 8:05but I'd also prefer to be in your situation in the mine. Oh yeah,
- 8:09not that I don't like my life, but I would prefer to have
- 8:11more money than not have money. You know. That's the thing. I
- 8:13mean, that's why I've always liked the idea of being I mean, if
- 8:16I was going to act, I would want to be someone like, say,
- 8:20I don't know, Michael Shannon, or you know, like a respected
- 8:24character actor who you know makes it decent enough living of it. But yeah,
- 8:30it's not necessarily you could walk down to the show Paul Gimmrty pre Billions
- 8:33Paul Gimmarty exactly, Oh god, not to Hey, we'll shout out friend
- 8:39of the Pop Mark Maren his interview with Paul Jim Marty, who's long been
- 8:43one of my favorite actors. Jim out is not just one of my favorite
- 8:46people because I'm like Omano, my brother. We had it's celebrities, they're
- 8:52just like us. But we had so much in common because he's just you
- 8:54know, collects a shit ton of old books and all those other stuff.
- 8:58I'm like, oh my god, you're just like me, not just in
- 9:00terms of your hairline and body shape. So when you're done listening to everything
- 9:05on the forefing of discount and worked by all means, check out the WTF
- 9:09episode of Maron with Paul Giamati because it's just really, really good. Yeah,
- 9:13he was one of the original guys who just got it when it came
- 9:15to podcasting. Marron podcasts. Absolutely. Yeah, I've never I was never
- 9:18like a huge guy because I'm like, I like your interviewing style. You're
- 9:22very casual, but you get a lot of good stuff out of people.
- 9:24But I don't want to put up with twenty minutes of you sort of saying,
- 9:26hey, it's Mark Maron. You're in the garage and playing guitar,
- 9:30not actually playing your touch. That's what you'd get from me if I was
- 9:37doing and it was very much kind of give us some of that egg guitar
- 9:48unsubscribed, unlike an unsubscribe. But yeah, but I think that's the kind
- 9:54of Solibardy like to be like where you're not wow, we love even falling
- 9:58around every he gets harassed. Yeah, yeah, but you're still making that
- 10:03so it still know who you are. That's sweetweet money. So if you
- 10:05saw Gene Marty at the airports, there's a difference between there's like big name
- 10:09celebrities where people just can't resist the temptation to go and get a photo.
- 10:11Paul g might if you saw him like browsing books, you'd be like a
- 10:13fucking leave mylone. I saw him, that's enough, you know, Or
- 10:18you'd sort of see each other across the arm and go just make sure you
- 10:22know, is it okay. I'm sure he'd go can't get a photo or
- 10:26whatever. But like some people like for example, Hem's well, if it's
- 10:28like he's at the airport, you just get people flocking to him for photos
- 10:31without even considering does he want this or not? Absolutely, but yeah,
- 10:35I just really really love this. As you're saying, this would perfectly fit
- 10:37into like what people could perceive as the golden ear Simpsons. And I'm really
- 10:41surprised this story hadn't already been done. But I thought, considering it was
- 10:43season eighteen, I think that did a pretty awesome job of it. Really,
- 10:46I think I think this honestly. I remember I said Yoco cause is
- 10:48probably my favorite episode of the season. I think this topped it for me.
- 10:50I think I enjoyed this more than Yocle Cords. It's certainly neck and
- 10:54neck, but yeah, I reckon this one might be might be just moving
- 10:56ahead. A little lack of Fleeters probably helps, like a Pleaders, doesn't
- 11:00You got your mean sorry you got your sar mellon there, But that's to
- 11:03be expected these days. At least they made fun of the side of eating
- 11:07the flag, all those those that so funny? Wasn't that increasingly lured and
- 11:13kinky paparazzi shots at the end the ashes very very enjoyable. That's a good,
- 11:22yeah, good episode. All right, you lovely stone Cutters. There's
- 11:33time for me and guy you want to read our names. It was our

- 12:24I always like hearing those things. It's just they almost starting to feel
- 12:28like family. And sometimes they might like drop off for a couple of months
- 12:31after to take the name off the list, and I'm like, my brain
- 12:33though, just goes to say their names. I'm just so used to saying
- 12:35the name over and over and over. But you know, it's money's too
- 12:41tired to mention these days. Yeah, you know, but if you have
- 12:43to drop out every once in a while, wholly understandable. But like the
- 12:46like the Prodigal Sun, we would welcome you back into the fold. I
- 12:50do like to think though, for for five dollar redues per month, you
- 12:52do get a shitload of content. That's pretty reason you get talking sionfold speaking

- 12:58and we'll see other on tails of the Futurama as well, going down to
- 13:00south Park. Yeah, all the episodes of fourfing a discount one of our
- 13:03friends going down to South Park early and ad free, yep, plenty of
- 13:07stuff. I think it's well worth that support fills a man's man goodness me,
- 13:11I spend that on Big Max. Yes, indeed, we used to.
- 13:13That's true. My favorite. All right, mister Davis, what is
- 13:18your favorite moment or favorite moments? That's a very good question. What did
- 13:22I enjoy the first? And I got a few laugh out loud moments from
- 13:30this episode, But the first one from this episode you call the last time
- 13:31that happened for a Simpsons episode. We've got laugh out loud moments, great,
- 13:33a few here, It's been a while. Yeah, yeah, but
- 13:37I certainly laughed out loud at this was when they were recreating their old photos.
- 13:41Yes, and of course you had Florida and they're on the water skiing
- 13:43some home a splashing water on when they're emparisoning through baguettes. And then I
- 13:48was like, that's so funny. I enjoyed that, and I enjoyed the
- 13:52nineteen eighty seven version of themselves as well. That's right, their faces just
- 13:56the begets again, just a quick visual gag. But I dug that Marge
- 14:05looked on the back of the tabloid magazine and said, hey, they pay
- 14:09dollar dollar dollar yea for photos, and in a start like that, so
- 14:15much. We she held up one of her bills. They just said the
- 14:18three dollar signs and it's like a lot of simple visual gags that really work.
- 14:22Yeah, they really felt like just old school. Yeah, yeah,
- 14:24writers are in Simpson gags. The Return of Gabbo Yep, the gab Overside
- 14:31is one of my all time favorites. You just love that, I really
- 14:33do. I mean Gabbo, Gabbo Gabo. But not to take away from
- 14:41Homer rights and anything, but I just want to just the bits in Gabbo
- 14:43where it's like he's got his version his corpse doll. All these kids are
- 14:54screaming like it's it's a dummy. And how many times I don't know how
- 15:01many times I've used sort of screencaps from that was like I think it's Quimby,
- 15:07but like Gabbo says, I bad little boy. So great. So
- 15:15yeah, very happy to see with the turn Gabo. I will talk about
- 15:18the Betty White cameo when we go. That was just lovely. It was
- 15:22just like that was pure Betty White, wasn't it Like if you who Betty
- 15:24White was, that's exactly who you imagine her to be. Yeah, yeah,
- 15:30you'd either have her really steering into oh everybody loves Betty White and here's
- 15:33why, or you do a Lake Placid and your turner into like this found
- 15:37mouth shotgun you know he'll billy or whatever. I really liked Dregeric Tatum's Your
- 15:43hip Hop album was Bossful, Unnecessary. Okay, here we go. Yeah,
- 15:48that'll do it for me and the rest I think we can talk about
- 15:50as we go through. What were you all some of your favorites? I
- 15:52mentioned the Lindsay landhum before, but the other one I really liked was this
- 15:54is pagehon written all over. What the hell did you do that for?
- 16:00You can see coming a mile away? But for me, I just laughed
- 16:03my ass off. This really actually made me want to revisit, like the
- 16:07Sam Raimi Spider Man was because JK. Simmons's course is very well known now.
- 16:14I think when this happened, it was kind of like he wasn't a
- 16:15household no. I mean, of course there was oz and he'd been on
- 16:19was it was he on bones. It was a law and order, law
- 16:22and order recurring on that, like as a psychiatrist. As a psychiatrist,
- 16:26yeah, so you'd seen every once and while, So he was a familiar
- 16:29face. It's a big part of this podcast. What do we learn,
- 16:33Palmer? That's correct. Yeah, if you grew up reading Spider Man comics
- 16:36or you knew anthing about Spider Man, you knew that j Jonah Jameson was
- 16:37like a really pivotal character and a really vivid character like that didn't need to
- 16:42be as important in the movies, but he made it important. He really
- 16:45did, and he really just sort of nailed the look but particular Oh my
- 16:48god, of course that's what he'd sound like. Yeah, yeah, so
- 16:52that energy and yeah, yeah, so yeah, I'm almost I think I'm
- 16:56doing much this s uff I don't think I'm gonna watch Spider Man one and
- 16:59two. I bought maybe three Blu ray for like a dollar each of Marketplace
- 17:03last week because I haven't re visited for a long time. Like I'm going
- 17:06to show Elliot these movies because they are my favorite Spider Man movies absolutely.
- 17:10I mean, Spider Man two, I Reckon still remains like one of the
- 17:11real high water marks. Everyone's got one best sequels ever, I Reckon.
- 17:15So next question, you there eating the Beast all right, trivia, mister
- 17:19Davis, what is your first question for Himerazi. I don't have that many,
- 17:23okay, but let's see how we go. Uh name the four settings
- 17:29on the back of the Krusty Doll mother in law off, current events and
- 17:37stolen jokes stolen. I do have one nippick. So when he flicks that
- 17:41the current events, he starts talking about the Kinks and all that kind of
- 17:44thing. But then when he's in this safe he start talking about iPods.
- 17:47I'm like, yeah, what that's true. That's a good point. Yeah,
- 17:52because the current events for when the doll was made was the Kinks,
- 17:55and then it's all of a sudden, now talking about iPods, and it's
- 17:56like, how is it now talking about current events? That was actually a
- 18:02pretty good, crusty game. I was the Kinks, the Stones. Well,
- 18:04there's a visit in my doctor's office that said my last physical. My
- 18:10question for you is what was on the cover of the magazine of the TV
- 18:15Guide? What was the headline? Damn it the TV Guide? Yeah,
- 18:19puts it in the seat. So he hangs Maggie on the mirror. Oh
- 18:22damn it, No, no, I'm sorry. It was Barbara Walters at
- 18:25one one hundred. That's right. Yeah, Um, what is the Ordeu
- 18:33that Rainier wolf Castle is offered at the snub stem cell for heaters, they
- 18:37leave the g I thought you just would have loved this for Rainie wolf Castle
- 18:44very much. I'm not mental slush the dog. The dogs get sushie now
- 18:48or they want is sushi. I just love it. The obvious Maria Shriver
- 18:56and no office like you promised me one day where you wouldn't break revenge reborked
- 19:02your next question. Who I thought that a million fire fires were started by
- 19:07candles? That was gus. Yeah, I'd say five says. I thought
- 19:11it was silly and so funny. Do I have any self stolen one of
- 19:18yours? I was assuming at the Star Trek Voyager Reunion special? What is
- 19:25Lenny dressed as? I don't know the characters Nambers the ship that dresses like
- 19:29silver? Yeah, I believe it's seven of nine, Okay. I just
- 19:33liked that their nerds in that aspect, like you know, they try to
- 19:36got man's man, but like they still wastch started for each everyone's a nerd
- 19:40in some way, oh very much. So. Yeah, I've got a
- 19:42question here for you. That's good, good, good, because there's no
- 19:47one else here. What is the name of the candles, what's the brand?
- 19:51Oh? Easy blow? Easy blow now easier to blow? Uh?
- 19:57And that might be all my happy in my man, I'm gonna find one
- 20:00more for you through He's an easy one for you. I knew you're like
- 20:03this. Who was duff Man on a date with? He was on a
- 20:07date with Boobrella? Boobrella And honestly, see the Alvira films. Are they
- 20:12worth watching? My uncle Darren loves them, but he loves them for what
- 20:17they are. I think I saw Elvira Mistress of the Dark way back in
- 20:19the day. But I think Elvira for me is someone who is like good
- 20:22in small doses. Yeah, I mean I think, like yourself forty five
- 20:27minutes a week, that's enough give me, give me a bad sazz persion.
- 20:33The stand and gay. Yeah, I haven't revisited a very long time,
- 20:37but now I'm a big fan of what Cassandra Peterson did with the Olvira
- 20:41character. But I think it just she might be made for YouTube. He
- 20:45might have been made for like sort of cutting up little bits like here's here's
- 20:48a five minute intro to her, you know, introing some movie or something
- 20:52like that's all I need. But that's what I do here with because I
- 20:55don't know what she She made movies, but she also liked the host of
- 20:57like late night horror and stuff. I thought that was kind of the thing
- 21:00because on Simpsons that's what she is, and I miss that where you'd have
- 21:03a a person who would host tonight we have this movie or whatever. So
- 21:07you see it for like a minute when I was going up. That was
- 21:11my dream job. Oh, they used to have it on like Channel ten
- 21:14or something. Yeah, l on a Friday night. In your mind,
- 21:17they're actually choosing what putting it, but they're not really, but like they're
- 21:18pretending what they are. It's like, I'd love to have the job of
- 21:21picking what people are going to watch. Yeah, it's it's like when you're
- 21:23the DJ at an old school radio station. It's like they actually chose what
- 21:26music went out. That was my dream job. That was what I should
- 21:30have been doing. That's what my life should have been. That's what you
- 21:32said on our review of the Fog. Oh yeah, yeah, I should
- 21:34have been like I should have been like Stevie Wayne been the male Stevie Wayne.
- 21:37You still can do it. We're doing that to some degree. It's
- 21:41this Dan doing guy your night light. Yeah all right, let's get into
- 21:45a review of Homerazzi. So originally, and as I said earlier March twenty
- 21:49fifth, two thousand and seven, directed by A. Matthewness Stuck and written
- 21:52by J. Stewart Jones, guest stars Betty White, John Lovetts as Aniliko
- 21:56a Lazzio, and Jakie Simmons as tableau editor. So the what do you
- 22:02called him, Jakie Jackie Simmons? Notice what his mom calls him? Now,
- 22:07hey, j just kidding Simmons. Uh. So, the chalkboall gag
- 22:14was global warming did not eat my homework, We got a talkboard gag,
- 22:17and the cash gag was a really long one. So it's basically this is
- 22:18the take off of the right here, Right Now movie music five Fat Boy
- 22:22Slim because basically the evolution of man and it evolves from like a stem a
- 22:27sad to a fish yeah, all the way through to like the fat kid
- 22:33from the Come a Long Way Baby. Yes, yeah, who is one
- 22:37of the most famous kids of the nineties. But do you know what that
- 22:38who that kid is is that Sean O'Brien. No, no one knows who
- 22:42that kid is, right, but because that photo was actually taken from a
- 22:45nineteen eighty three fat Person festival in Virginia, Okay, And they just used
- 22:49that photo, but no one's ever actually figured out he was because in the
- 22:52film clip, it's a grown man dressed the same way who looks like the
- 22:55kid got older. But that kid, no one has ever really worked out
- 22:57who it is. The reason I said, sure, Brian, is like
- 23:00I heard this the other day about you know, some guy who was at
- 23:04like a concert or something, and yeah, bigger guy and he was like
- 23:07really, you know, getting down, really enjoying it. And then he
- 23:11was like fat, chained by a bunch of dickheads, and whoever was taking
- 23:15photos, they took another picture of his who was I think that was his
- 23:18name, of this kid, of this guy, and the picture sort of
- 23:22went before and after pictures of like this big guy having a really good time,
- 23:26and everyone said that no one even knows who it is. No,
- 23:29no, this is a different difference in the fat boys linger. Oh okay,
- 23:32so yeah, I doesn't say, but I thought, who is this
- 23:34person? Is he famous person? But apparently this is a more recent thing.
- 23:38He went viral and you know, I think he was in the UK
- 23:41and I flew out of the Hollywood and through my party because it was like,
- 23:44there's been dickheads to you. Let's sorry your party. I really kid
- 23:47that remember the lightsaber kid? Yeah? Well again this is sort of this
- 23:49ties into the whole homerazzi thing. I mean, I think, you know
- 23:55a lot of the motivation, well a lot of motivation for paparazzi taking photos.
- 23:59Let's make some money, it's a job. But there was also an
- 24:00underlying degree of this person you didn't get better than me, Yeah, taking
- 24:06pictures of them, trying to shame them. Yeah, and now we're kind
- 24:08of shaming ourself aware looking everyone's looking actively for people to the shames. Let's
- 24:14get on the internet and find someone who's been really sincere about what they're doing
- 24:18and take the piss out of them. I remember being in nineties, kid,
- 24:21it was definitely a myth you could say of the school yard that that
- 24:23fat kid was actually fat boy Slim. But there were kids who were convinced
- 24:29that was fat boy Slim. What the guy on the cover of the album
- 24:32Yeah great two was like number one already? Why try what a lord?
- 24:38This fat kid just loving life. But the thing is it was just the
- 24:41perfect end to that music video because it's like the evolution to man trying to
- 24:45get better better. At the end, it's like, I'm already number one
- 24:47and just and he just sits his fat arts on the couch and that's it.
- 24:49I love fat boyslam. That was There was a three year pero.
- 24:52We had that song Praise You and Weapon of Choice. Yeah, and it's
- 24:57like they're three of the greatest songs and I bang, holy shit. Remember
- 25:04I didn't like Praise You as a kid. I just I just didn't get
- 25:07it. And then I was like a teenager. I was like, oh,
- 25:10I get it. And you look at the video that directed by the
- 25:12Great Spike Jones, starring the great spit just dancing in the all. I
- 25:15think the film could put me off. I was like, who are these
- 25:18people? They're weirdos. What is this. I'm so used to like spice
- 25:19Scales and the exciting films. It's just people in a mall dancing. I'm
- 25:23like, this is weird. But I watched now and I'm like, that
- 25:26is just genius. A friend of the Pot Adam Sandler, he I remember
- 25:30the the trailer came out for his movie The water Boy. Yeah, and
- 25:33it had fat boy slims going out of my head or going out of my
- 25:37mind. I can't find it anywhere on YouTube because I remember seeing it at
- 25:41the cinema back in the day. I thought, or you remembering it wrong.
- 25:44I don't think I'm remembering it wrong. I'm pretty sure because it's like
- 25:47it's just Sandler crashing into people and it had this really just dope fat boy
- 25:52slim tune over the top of the I'm like, really like that. That
- 25:53was It was such a great time the late nineties because you'd have that.
- 25:57And there was also a trailer for like a band damn movie or Maximum Risk.
- 26:02It had fire Starter as the as the soundtrack. It's like, this
- 26:07is gonna be the best fucking movie fall time, what's that? What's the
- 26:11phone? Thirdth is it? Jason X has a kick ass song that's got
- 26:14to let the bodies at the floor. Yes, so perfect. With someone
- 26:17who mentioned it in the Patron group the other day, it was like,
- 26:18oh, I never thought i'd hear someone talk about drowning, all right,
- 26:23especially on a discout, and here we are cold, the bodies aid the
- 26:27floor. It's just perfect. I love that song. It's so brilliant.
- 26:33They did it, yeah, because they did it on the Jason Next one
- 26:36and eded on the Rambow trailer as well. Like I said, during the
- 26:38episode, we're talking about with the meme with homes writting the song the bodies
- 26:44into the floor. So the evolution cash gag, yeah yeah, taking everything
- 26:52from the credit set before that, it turns a whole two minutes and twenty
- 26:56seconds. Yeah. Yeah, the evolution sequence itself just mid twenty second.
- 27:00I was like, this is going on a while. Maybe that's the key
- 27:03to a good episodeoughybe because they have to try and pad out extra two minutes
- 27:06of gags, because it feels like lately there's been a lot of good episodes
- 27:11or episodes that could have been good if they had to end it at like
- 27:12two minutes earlier, and then they go extra minute and you're like that minute
- 27:15is like left the sour Taste mom out. Yeah, there's just longer couch
- 27:18gags. Shorter episodes end the episode at the right time. I mean,
- 27:22in the same there's a bit too much filling and filler in the sandwich.
- 27:23How many times have we had like a nice moment and then it's just like
- 27:26it tries to end with home of being a dickhead or something like, Yah,
- 27:29you didn't need that bit longer catch gags. That's what you want.
- 27:33We've solved the problem. Happy birthday, year Home, Happy birthday. Ye.
- 27:44I don't have to make a wish because they already have it. Wonderful
- 27:48family. I wish for Infinity Hamburgers. Immediately just thought of you. I
- 27:52don't know why I thought of you, but I thought of you. But
- 27:55I feel like that's the wish that guy would make, wouldn't they If we
- 27:59ever get around opening burger joint, which is again one of my dreams.
- 28:03You have a lot of dreams. Called it Infinity Hamburgers. Maybe it's an
- 28:06all you can eat burger joint, but yeah, the business pretty early?
- 28:08Yeah, how was it? How was this that could be me? We
- 28:14went fishing from burger when you couldn't find one? But yeah, so then
- 28:19he blows tries to blow the candles and he can't actually one another one of
- 28:22my favorite moments. I really enjoyed dance acting over the I just thought that
- 28:30was it just done off really well but obviously got in my notes. Why
- 28:33do we blow on candles, Like even post COVID, I'm like, okay,
- 28:37well, clearly COVID is forgotten about because there was a point in time
- 28:40where I couldn't be within thirty feet of you. Now I'm letting why do
- 28:42we gt on my cakes? Again? Why do we even do it in
- 28:45the first Yes? This, I mean there are so many traditions that if
- 28:51you take a second or even think about, It's like, why do we
- 28:52bring a tree into our house on Christmas? Why? There is a reason
- 28:56for that though, Isn't it is that? Oh? I'm sure there is,
- 29:00but I mean we don't actually know what it is because I told to
- 29:02do it. Yeah, pretty much everyone does that. It's like, yeah,
- 29:04why on your birthday? It's like we're going to make you a nice
- 29:07kick, but also we're going to put candles on top of it that you
- 29:11have to extinguish. Why. So this is the thing as a parent now
- 29:15of young kids, they're always going why, They're questioning the world why is
- 29:18that? I'm like, I actually don't know why we do half these things?
- 29:22Oh we just do them? Yeah, I mean I'm finding myself.
- 29:26I mean, I was I ever lose last night and you know, someone
- 29:30sort of asking something like well to Google. Yeah, And I was probably
- 29:33doing that four or five times last night. I was like, there would
- 29:36there would have been a time maybe when I knew this, or I probably
- 29:37never knew this to Google pre Google? Do you think like our parents,
- 29:42right, they didn't have Google, so they just have to make up a
- 29:45reason why we do shit. And because you just grew up thinking that was
- 29:48legit, Like do you have a thing in your life where you're like,
- 29:49you always believed that this was the way things went for a reason, or
- 29:52you believe something, and then you got older and I was like, oh,
- 29:55Bobby, was I think this was the ship, this was the but
- 30:00like Italian you know what I mean? I think this was the era of
- 30:02because I said so, yes, I have dropped that a few times that
- 30:07I'm just like usually that when I say, Alec, can you please do
- 30:10that? But why, I'm like, because I'm the fucking boss, And
- 30:12I said, so, don't ask me, why, just do it?
- 30:17Now? Does to give them that look and he's like the boss of the
- 30:21boss, that's right. So homes trying to blow add candles added shape even
- 30:26for an American And then yeah, so it's now nighttime, he's trying to
- 30:29borrow it ends up starting a fire because he passes out. Firefighter arrives and
- 30:33saves the day, and they question we discussed earlier, I listen like that
- 30:36Gus has a million. Then Marge gets a fireproof safe and she decides to
- 30:41put the family album in there, which is very marge at. Lisa puts
- 30:44she was she was going to put what she was going to say. The
- 30:45decision trails like as if, I'm like, that's so obnoxious, But then
- 30:48she goes with the eight year old Melibus Stacey hybrid convertible which runs on old
- 30:53makeup and add of style shoes. Homer puts the cologne from his first dates
- 30:56the center of a wook center a walking like that, yep, and Bart
- 31:00puts the catch a rising crusty doll in there, but the current events,
- 31:03the Kings, the stones, sounds, my last physical and then he puts
- 31:07that in the safe as well, and then March, there's nothing to worry
- 31:10about here. Now we have nothing to worry about in case of a fire
- 31:12besides our lives, and she taps on the safe, which, unfortunately,
- 31:15as Homer explains, causes the activates the doll Trust turns on the car's headlines,
- 31:21focusing on the colone, causing it to boil and soon explode, and
- 31:25it obviously goes off. But I thought when the album exploded, I was
- 31:29like, that would be such a sad moment. Oh my god. Yeah,
- 31:32And the way Marge explained it, I know it's it's meant to be
- 31:33funny, but like, I just love that it's a record of my accomplishments.
- 31:37I felt that's how my mum would see it as Well's like it's a
- 31:41record of everything we've achieved in life. Absolutely. I mean, we have
- 31:44digital versions of our lives, but it's like those old photobos, you can't
- 31:48be Yeah, and when the grid goes down, as it will people or
- 31:52you'll have the memories inside your head. But you know, us old school
- 31:55types will have albums full of photos apparently, and the state of the Outreak
- 32:00Recording Studio looking down at a big batch of photo albums that were brought over
- 32:04by your mum. Yeah, scan these, yeah. I was like,
- 32:07you want to scan your photo She's like, yeah, that'd be good,
- 32:08and she brings over about three crates worth. I'm like, oh shit,
- 32:13I don't have terror buds of space. It's just the time. Oh yeah,
- 32:17it's like it's like you imagine like a teacher photocopying ship. Do you
- 32:22teachers do still do photo They still had that paper. It was all laptops.
- 32:24Now I think it's all laptops and all laptops now. I mean it's
- 32:27good for the environment, imagine is it? Is it not? I don't
- 32:30know. I mean apparently suppose the report about recycle paper now so yeah,
- 32:37I mean here the occasual report about you realize that AI is using so much
- 32:43electricity and power or whatever that it's you know, incredible. It's probably as
- 32:45much of a power drain or as much of an energy No, I've got
- 32:52to stay free. Is he still doing his thing or is he taking a
- 32:57break. I think he's still doing his thing. I think YouTube might have
- 32:59done monetized and but he might be on like other platforms. They're trying to
- 33:04take me down. It's gone. That family album was a record of my
- 33:15accomplishments. It's like what a resume is for a meme And Lisa accidentally mentions
- 33:22we could restage your photos and we get a little montage year with freeze Frame,
- 33:24which was a good song match the match of the montage. It was
- 33:28again they've they've dipped into the soundtrack budget because there was one or two good
- 33:31songs on this particular episode soundtrack. There was indeed, that's time for the
- 33:36series finale party. They had to have paid for the music of Star Trek
- 33:38as well. Right, they had the voyage of music plane. Oh yeah,
- 33:42probably yeah, But they've had Startrek parodies on the show before. But
- 33:45Carl's incredibly sad and I just love that they're just so passionate about starting Voyager.
- 33:50What's your one show that you know it's nerdy but you just can't have
- 33:52love it? Is it like Moonlighting for you? Yeah? But that's super
- 33:55cool. So yeah, it was cool. Well it's cool at the time.
- 33:58Two, wasn't it. Yeah? So what's like your your nerdy show
- 34:00that you're like, I just I just love it. I don't care people
- 34:02know that I like it. It's probably ninety Day Fiance. But when it
- 34:06comes to like actual nerd program like sci fi or fantasy or something like that,
- 34:08there's a couple. It was a I don't know if you'd call it
- 34:12super nerdy because it's actually really super violent, super sexy. But well,
- 34:15violence is sexy, right, that's true. Yeah, two great teas together.
- 34:21Spartacus did you Did you ever watched it? But show? Yeah?
- 34:23Yeah, because I mean it sort of came out the rain the same time
- 34:25as Game of Thrones, and Game of Thrones of course got all the god
- 34:29all the publicity because it's like, oh my god, it's so valent,
- 34:31medieval and sexy. It's like, maybe I should hip you to an episode
- 34:35of Spartacus, which is basically just insane and it's done sort of in the
- 34:39style of three hundred. It's got their very stylized approach to it. But
- 34:44it's like, it got to the it got to the final episode and you
- 34:49know everyone, no I'm not, but I'm just gonna be if you know
- 34:52anything about sparta because you know how the story of Spartacus ends. But yeah,
- 34:55it got to the end. I was like, why am I growing
- 34:59at this ridiculous, violent, sexy, comic book of a show, Because
- 35:02I'm really feeling for these characters. We committed so many hours to it.
- 35:05That's why that is correct. I wasted my life. Wasted my life.
- 35:09That is not one of my favorite Simpsons lines ever. It's just it's so
- 35:12relatable. It's very What do you think your favorite nerdy show. I think
- 35:15for me growing up with Stargate, and I haven't really visited Stargate for so
- 35:20long, and I've always been wanting to. I loved Stargate, That's the
- 35:23thing. I mean. I don't think I've ever really sort of got into
- 35:25I mean, I was huge in the Star Wars, but I was never
- 35:28really into the whole mythology of it, and you know, like reading the
- 35:30extended universe and like novels and comics and all or even the Day for Loney
- 35:35stuff. I never really sort of got into it. It's like, I
- 35:37like Star Wars, but part of me is kind of like I wish I
- 35:39had the kind of I don't know, especially where it'll be like, yeah,
- 35:47I watch all the Star Treks and you know, and I can tell
- 35:51you the difference between Space. I wanted to watch Star Trek. I really
- 35:52want to watch Star Trek, yeah, or Stargate, and it's various sort
- 35:57of offshoots. It's like, well, you know, SG one is pretty
- 35:59good, but don't get universes where it's at. I mean, I know,
- 36:02I think I'd enjoy that, but it's just at the same time,
- 36:05I'm not why that way? And also I just don't have enough time.
- 36:08Okay, we're recreating our series finale party for Star Trek Voyager. Oh man,
- 36:16I thought I was strong enough to get through this again, but I'm
- 36:21not. Oh Captain Jane Waye your mission and soon then Homer is mowing.
- 36:35I really really like this. So at Lisa reading the book. So we
- 36:37had the man in Superman. But that was a great gay Yeah, that
- 36:39was fantastic. But Marjor arriving with the photo trips over home and runs him
- 36:43over. That's why I made it do the ICTs. I was like,
- 36:45you got me. I actually went free. Decigh of relief. Yeah,
- 36:51because can you imagine how traumatic that would be if you've gone through all that
- 36:55process again. And just because this is back in the day when you have
- 36:58to go get your photos developed out. Yeah, I still remember the excitement
- 37:00of going to pick them up, like they're ready, They're ready. There's
- 37:02a good one watching TV last night. There's an ad for you know,
- 37:07the new Google Phone. It's like, I've taken a picture of my three
- 37:12kids. Wonder them's pulling a face. But I've taken enough pictures where I
- 37:15can transplant the Yeah, the face from Yeah, a regular face from one
- 37:20photo and put it in on a real photo. It's not a real photo.
- 37:22No, that's what that's the charm of these old school photos is sometimes
- 37:24they're blurry. Sometimes these episodes not looking, but it's like you cherish them
- 37:29because it's like it's everyone in the one photo. I made this work.
- 37:32And every time that ad comes on, I'm like, I don't like this,
- 37:35and he's look at him like, we know you don't like it.
- 37:37See that cloud. I was literally shave at the cloud. Ah, there's
- 37:49my first sexiit a black looks so cute as a mighty oak in the school
- 37:54play Here I am on the Space Shuttle orbiting True was nice? And how
- 38:00to send you up again? Oh my god? Check out what's happening behind
- 38:04your restaged anniversary dinner. Death Man's on a game with Booberella. He's supposed
- 38:09to be in a stable, long term gay relationship. Hmmm, this is
- 38:13a celebrity scandal. We could sell that photo to a tabloid and they paid
- 38:19big money for photos. This isn't like you. Well, it's just about
- 38:23what we need to pay for our fire damage. Spooky Homer is now at
- 38:29the inquisitor trying to sell it, and Lindsay Lighthand looking drunk. Hi and
- 38:32bony Se. See, they got a freckles because the last time I had
- 38:37JK. Simmons on as a Nanada who was very much done as Jay jonah
- 38:39jehe was meant to be that. Now he doesn't look like that at all,
- 38:43but he's doing the same character, which I think is better. I
- 38:45think. So. Yeah, he says, you're making moderately wealthy. Yes,
- 38:47I can rent anything I want like that. That's the dream about your
- 38:51old Dan. I can rent anything I want. But also i'mer rolling around
- 38:59in like the small yes, Pilotney, it would be nice to be moderately
- 39:04wealthy. I don't want to be rich, but just enough righteness, like
- 39:07I can just relax. Oh yeah, I mean it was a great meme
- 39:09that I saw where it's basically tell me you you know, tell me your
- 39:13wildest family. It's like, I live in a house that's you know,
- 39:19decent sized, got a good, good backyard for the dogs. You know,
- 39:22I can make the mortgage on it pretty easily. Yeah, my car
- 39:25runs pretty well, and you know when it's when I hear a noise,
- 39:30I can take the mechanic. I've got no problems there. The fridge is
- 39:31full of stuff that I like to eat, and you know, I can
- 39:34occasionally take a holiday. It's like, yeah, that's that's my wildest fantasy.
- 39:38You're pretty much at that point now, right, You get to sort
- 39:42of go on holidays whenever you want to, pretty much. I mean,
- 39:45yeah, I'm not saying that. Yeah, we're about to see you later.
- 39:47Dan up for three weeks in Europe, although I mean we did just
- 39:52spend two and a half weeks in the States, which was pretty admittedly we
- 39:57were staying with our friend who put us up verty decently. Yeah, we
- 40:00still went. We still went absolutely with to Ballei. I believe the Christmas
- 40:02time last year wasn't Yeah, yeah, we may do that again this year.
- 40:06Yeah, I've been on like three holidays them of Nicola Life with Nichol
- 40:09Holiday. It's now told of the Krusty movie premiere. So obviously Homer has
- 40:15agreed to be the paparazzo. Paparazzi and the kids want the autograph of Krusty.
- 40:21The head things at the door panel. I don't wants to get a
- 40:22photo of Krusty, says no. Then we get Gabbo and still the waters
- 40:27that vomit versus water. I think, yeah, yeah, yeah, Now
- 40:30fancy farms were all the famous people's shop and you're gonna help me ambush them.
- 40:36I just really liked, Hey, it's rich Texan and Paris texts.
- 40:37I'm like, his last name is tex and I get it ba for mama.
- 40:44Why wish used to carry around that dog? Oh yeah, that little
- 40:45tuaha? Yeah, what's that? Sorry for that thing? And when they're
- 40:50developing photos later in the episode, there's actually photo of her sticking her finger
- 40:52down the throat. Yeah, so Bart makes fun of Paris Texan's face.
- 40:58She's still breaking in that nose and she said beating him up. This is
- 41:00where isn't the last photo of he like giving him a kiss? Yes?
- 41:05And then Homer's taking photos of celebrities walking out the dry cleaners and I'm thinking,
- 41:07what is this? Why are they're doing this? And I realized what
- 41:09they're going for. I just I was thinking, is there a Simpsons episode
- 41:13where like Bart ended up having like a Paris Hilton style socialite as a girlfriend.
- 41:21And then I was like, oh no, I think that's a south
- 41:22Park episode. Yeah, Simpsons. So far, we haven't reviewed one like
- 41:25that. Yeah, that's right, but Butter's ended up like a boy as
- 41:29the boyfriend or something like parents to actual Paris Hilton. Oh okay, that's
- 41:31right, and she wouldn't leave now Paris leave me alone. Okay. We've
- 41:36just entered season four of Gone Down to South Park and it's just it's so
- 41:38great. We're very very happy about that. The next episode we were viewing
- 41:42in this as we speak now is two thousand. Yeah, I can't wait.
- 41:46But then I'm thinking, what this is such a random mishmash of guests,
- 41:51like celebrities walking out these dry cleaners. Then I realized there are a
- 41:53people who have been on the show as home say, I've met them all,
- 41:55and they never acknowledged my existence because we'd the minute of The first one
- 42:00to come out is mcart. Yeah, Macart. I was like, Oh,
- 42:02interesting are they going to have Yeah, it's like, oh no,
- 42:07it's just just an image. Oh okay, well yeah, that are these
- 42:10all former guest appearances. I feel like this could have been an episode where
- 42:14you could have crammed in a lot of actual guest cameos. But I think
- 42:16it works bet at being Springfield celebrities. I think so as well. It
- 42:21feels more Simpsony gets more in this their universe. Yeah, because I mean
- 42:24a gimmick. There are occasions when they will go over wear with the guests
- 42:28out. It's like, this doesn't feel like real Simpsons. This feels like
- 42:31you know, Sweeps week, symptoms, symptoms, or like the special guests
- 42:36include Well, Nicol and I just reviewed the Friends episodes as part one and
- 42:38part two two, part of the one after the super Bowl, which they
- 42:40aired after the Super Bowl thirty because they wanted to capitalize in that audience,
- 42:45and they'll stick of debuting new shows like let's just get our bigger show and
- 42:47put it after and get the biggest audience. E it was like fifty seven
- 42:50million people watch it or something. Oh, but it's just celebrity guests are
- 42:53heavy, so Jean Cloud, Van Dam, Julia Roberts, Brookshields, Chris
- 42:59Isaacs in there, Dean Caslonetta isn't there as well Fred Willard, and it
- 43:02feels you can tell it's a very special episode of Friends. And whilst it's
- 43:07funny and I enjoyed it, it doesn't feel like Friends. We mentioned I
- 43:10mentioned in that review. Homer at the Bat where it's a bunch of baseballers
- 43:15and the crew of the Simpsons of the cast don't like that episode because they
- 43:17felt like all the focus was on the guests and not them, like the
- 43:21main cast were secondary, at least in the Friends one. It's funny every
- 43:25guest star is like a love interest of a character like Chris Isaac is a
- 43:29love and just of Phoebe and Julie Roberts's love and just of Chandler and Brooks.
- 43:31She was loving just of Joey And I'm just like, they couldn't think
- 43:34of a different reason to bring up these guys on the show. But yeah,
- 43:37it's just like it did. It makes it feel different. Yeah,
- 43:40what what's Van Dam doing? That? Is he flirting with the Jennifer Anison.
- 43:44So he's filming a movie outbreak too. I think it is in New
- 43:46York and Marcel the Monkey there and then Monica wants Rachel to ask him out,
- 43:52but he ends up flirting with Rachel and Rachel goes out on a date
- 43:55with him instead, and Monica get shitty about that. Yeah, but Jean
- 43:59Clovan Dam comes across like a real sogoynist. I think that might be one
- 44:02of his things, or it might have been one of his things back then,
- 44:06because when was this was this? Like, was this in the two
- 44:08thousands or in the ninth day? It was ninety six, at the start
- 44:12of ninety six, I think, yeah, yeah, I think JCVD will
- 44:15admit himself that he had a few lost years in there even when he and
- 44:20maybe because he was doing so well he was recovering from Street Fighter. That's
- 44:22cooret had that torrid affair with Kylie Minogue on the Street Fighter. Really apparently,
- 44:29so holy shit, I loved that movie as a kid. I haven't
- 44:30watched it for like since I was like eight. I'm like, it's one
- 44:34of the movies where I go, I don't want to revisit it, but
- 44:37I kind of do because it's got Gomez Adams as the main as Bison.
- 44:43Yeah, it does apparently not very well while it was. Yeah, I
- 44:45think he was he wasn't well. Yeah that's right. Yeah, yeah,
- 44:49is his last film, wasn't it was his last movie? Yeah, Adam's
- 44:52Family not the film. Want to revisit it would be I'd just sort of
- 44:55do the the one two punch of Adams family and Adams family values. Yeah,
- 45:00enjoying them both. Yeah, lots of films to watch. I've been
- 45:02keeping a list, so I've be knocking off my list. I know it's
- 45:06slight detour, but Broken Arrow got off the list. Wish I hadn't watched.
- 45:08I mean it was what it was. I'm just like, Ah,
- 45:12it wasn't as good as I had hoped. I crossed off Anticonda and Anakonda's
- 45:16Oh did you watch Anon? What do you think? It was good?
- 45:20I mean I enjoyed the first one more, I think more, but this,
- 45:24the second one felt very much like people lug down a Conda. Don't
- 45:28know why. It's make another one real quick, yeah, and just make
- 45:30them bigger. Yeah. Yeah. And it didn't have any like actual sort
- 45:34of stars stars, No, not really no, And it hurt in that
- 45:37way. And speaking of stars that help a film, I watched Deeply See
- 45:40Sammuel Jackson. Ah, he helped that film so much. Absolutely. Oh
- 45:45man. Yeah, I loved it. I loved Deeply See. They loved
- 45:47it really good. Yeah. There's plenty of other films across. It's just
- 45:51I'm like, this year, all these movies I've always I'm gonna watch,
- 45:53I'm just gonna watch them gonna watch them. I'm glad I have. Yeah,
- 45:57it's great. I see you all the time saying hashtag now watching I'm
- 46:00like, I wouldn't be that guy lost you said got a bit it was
- 46:04like twelve and you're like, hashtag now watching his TV show whatever, and
- 46:07I was like, it was the first episode of True Detective. By the
- 46:08way, Yeah, I mean, I'm news resolution. I think I've talked
- 46:13about I need to have some new podcasts for the four Finger Disco network,
- 46:16and one of them was going to be TV Guide, So that's the reason
- 46:19I was watching New Drape True Protective. I'm not trying to put together in
- 46:22just a quick like six minute, seven minute review that we can run on
- 46:25the four thing and I'll leave the room. You can do it right now.
- 46:30I don't want to. I've got I've got stage freight. Don't watch
- 46:34me podcast. Hello, Homer, have you lost weight? Like you care?
- 46:38Betty Waite, tell me how's Maggie. Her name is Marge. I
- 46:44was talking about your baby. Oh she's looking very surfy. Thanks for taking
- 46:49my picture. If you want me to sign it, here's a stamped,
- 46:52self addressed envelope and give Santa's little help her a big hug for me.
- 46:58Yeah, it's right, just away. How lovely was Betty White there?
- 47:02Like I said, you just feel like that's just Betty White being Betty White.
- 47:05And just her name is Maggie. Her name is Marge your dog.
- 47:15Just you just walk away now the pillow Mint Hotel and Jrederic Tatum is there
- 47:21being all nice and civil. That's a good name pillow Mint, it is.
- 47:23Yeah, And Homer yeah hip hop album was bothtful and unnecessary. Okay,
- 47:27here we go, just punched away all the various cameras again just yeah.
- 47:30I mean it had good one liners, but also just I think it
- 47:34was more heavy on good visual gags. It was. Yeah, and that
- 47:37one with the multiple cameras was fantastic and all different versions of cameras. Yeah,
- 47:40yeah, like bringing out the old time he won and well played Homer
- 47:45ARTZI good episode, Yeah, it really was. And then she takes it
- 47:49to the inquisitor terrific, outstanding. This has page one written all over it.
- 47:53What the hell did you do that for? Well? I remember my
- 47:57plate in the book I was reading that it was a gag that I remember
- 48:00pinpoint what episode it wasn't When it came I was like, DiCaprio, that's
- 48:05the worsd that's the world, and it inspired me. I'm just like,
- 48:07I want to do an article of all the best moments, like golden moments,
- 48:12not from the Golden era. For me, this was like one of
- 48:14them. I know you didn't like it, but Homer with the photo saying,
- 48:16I took a photo of myself to show you how sad I was,
- 48:19and then here's me smiling best because the cat fan the stairs like that to
- 48:22me was like a stand up moment, super sexy Flanders. And there's another
- 48:23one coming up in a couple episodes because I watched through it, I mean
- 48:28walking on the treadmill on the incline, just watching the fashion through season eighteen.
- 48:30The classic quote of I've got three kids and no money. Why can't
- 48:35I have no kids in three money? That's like an iconic one. I
- 48:37gets memed around a lot, right when people don't have any money. I
- 48:40just assumed from in my mind. I'm like, oh, that's a golden
- 48:43ear quote. It's like in a couple episodes, Well that gets shared so
- 48:46much. Oh I've got three kids and no money. Why can I have
- 48:50no kids and three money? Yeah? I was really surprised. I'm going
- 48:52to do it an article on the website the right in guys Simpson's mailbag at
- 48:57gmail dot com on lots of contributions, and I will give you credit for
- 48:59it. Older moments of the Simpsons that aren't from the Golden ear So anything
- 49:01post season ten, oh, well, say season twelve? Do you say,
- 49:06say season ten? Anything post season ten that you consider like a golden
- 49:08moment sends it in Simpsons Mailbag at gmail dot com, and I will definitely
- 49:13give you the credit for pointing it out. I'd love to hear from you,
- 49:15guys also just in through some questions. Yes indeed, and yeah,
- 49:19I won't attribute you know, but Danno might. Homer and Bart are developing
- 49:22photos in Lisa's room. We get Crusty exposing himself in the photo and Paris
- 49:25gag and the dog go getting punched by his ventriloicist. What is the venturlicist
- 49:30name? I can't remember he has a name. We should get this Gabbo's
- 49:34Venturlicus of the Bok Arthur crandall, okay, yeah, I've been calling him
- 49:37crandall things I learned today Arthur crandle there you go but miss developing all the
- 49:44photos. Listen, you can't stay and here you're going to keep talking.
- 49:46So home And says, you know when you come have daddy pours some chemicals,
- 49:49puts it straight to sleep. It's not true here, but it is
- 49:52true. Kids. They always say they're not tired, and the most tired
- 49:55of all that is one hundred percent truth. We kids say I'm not tired.
- 49:59I'm like, go to fucking bed now. Why Because I said so?
- 50:04Homer is now showing March all the photos in the Inquisitor, and this
- 50:06was just nice pointing out, like marg're trying to be old right, just
- 50:08saying I can't believe you're doing this. I feel bad. You can't put
- 50:10that shit down? Oh absolutely not. Yeah. Do tabloid magazine still exist
- 50:15to this extent, Like it's just I feel like it's more just online things
- 50:19now, like very much. The physical form probably not so much. But
- 50:22because you're past the magazine standing like there's this one that Nikola reads occasionally.
- 50:25I get it. It's like the Royal family tabloid magazines. It's important from
- 50:30the UK. I guess people still buy them, but I think it's more
- 50:32just like clickbait online now, I think so. Yeah, I mean,
- 50:36I think paparazzi stuff, I mean, it'll always sort of prides itself on
- 50:39the immediacy of it, So I mean, yeah, they quicker that you
- 50:43can get it out there end of the world. I imagine that's the that's
- 50:45the main aim. It's hard to get the exclusive now too, because people
- 50:49just they can just take the picture, save it and just get because people
- 50:52with watermarks. Entertainment Weekly often puts like a watermark or Vulture puts a watermark,
- 50:58you can photoshop that shit out so easily people to steal the imagery.
- 51:00So it like you can. But people back in the day, if you
- 51:05had the exclusive photo of like a car crash or someone smooching someone else when
- 51:07they shouldn't be, like, you paid big bucks for it. But do
- 51:12you think people still get paid big bucks for the exclusive? They get paid
- 51:15big bucks exclusive for like interviews now, I think, but not so much
- 51:17photos that I had. I think I think they still get paid affair amount
- 51:22do. I just can't imagine how you could just say you're, you know,
- 51:25running TV guide, right and you're paying tabloid magazine and you're someone's coming
- 51:30to you with a photo that's incredibly raunchy. It's Chris hams Worth cheating on
- 51:32his missus with I don't know, Tina fat right, incredibly want you good
- 51:37happen? Yea, yeah whatever? Right? And it's like, would I,
- 51:39as a as an editor, pay big money to have that to be
- 51:43the first to run it because I know within one minute it's gonna be all
- 51:45over Twitter without any credit to me. Well that's the thing. I mean,
- 51:49if you're if you're the solo person who have taken and I feel like,
- 51:52because no one breaks this one people, well you might break the story,
- 51:55but no one, not everyone credits anymore. Yeah, I mean I
- 51:59think you're a halfway said person. You would like, I don't think anybody
- 52:01else has got this picture of Chris and Tina. If you're someone who just
- 52:05wants attention to be like, guess what I just saw, guys, and
- 52:07then you put it on Twitter or you put it on whatever, you put
- 52:09it on Instagram to boost your own person. It's about boosting you own personal
- 52:13social media. Give me lakes, you know. But I mean, if
- 52:16you're a smart person, probably go to TMZ or something out like that and
- 52:21said guess what I've gone here? How much do you want for it?
- 52:24And you know I might pay you five figures, six figures or something for
- 52:28oh yeah, absolutely did he ever pay for like photos? I don't think
- 52:32so. Not not well, but it was a reputable until having said that,
- 52:37Darren Grece, I mean not Dann Grays and he's a hairdresser. Good
- 52:40guy. Helped shout out to Darren Darren Lyons. Yeah, who you know,
- 52:45became a real sort of paparazzi. Came the mayor yeah yeah, and
- 52:49then became the mayor of Geelong and you know it was a Christmas tree and
- 52:51free parking on the weekends. Good on him. I mean you got some
- 52:53things right. I mean we get free parking the weekends. We forget about
- 52:57that, like we didn't have free parking on the weekend before. But he's
- 53:00a guy sort of drives around Gelong and then is he the one with the
- 53:02Ferrari. He's got a Ferrari, doesn't he? I have no idea.
- 53:06I think he was driving some high and automobile around Gelong. It's kind of
- 53:09as I've always said, you can top out it, maybe a Porsche or
- 53:13a or a very nice Mercedes, and Geelong you don't want to, you
- 53:16don't want to? Land would you ever buy one? Then? If you
- 53:19had the money to buy one, would you buy one? No? I
- 53:22wouldn't. No, I would again top out it like a nice Porsche for
- 53:27the money, but buy a million dollars worth of Big Max Infinity Burghers that
- 53:34I spent seven hundred Conor patterns. That's what I'd spend my money off.
- 53:38Yeah. I just seeing like a Lamborghini or a Ferrari driving around Geelong.
- 53:45It's like this just doesn't feel right now, It's it's weird. Yeah,
- 53:50but I did like here though, the whole side show, mel is in
- 53:52the custody battle when it's turning bitter and who makes it by the magazine?
- 53:55But what is it? Why do we love gossip as human beings? We
- 54:00love gossip. I don't know what out there that says they don't buy into
- 54:02gossip. You're full of shit. Oh we love a good juicy gossip story.
- 54:06Absolutely, always always have. I think as long as human beings have
- 54:09been able to talk and keep secrets and do things that other people don't want
- 54:15to know about. Yes, there's been gossip. I'm sure there's books and
- 54:19all manner of stuff written about the psychology. They should track that down,
- 54:22because I mean, it's kind of an interesting thing. Why we this is
- 54:27a thing. So the Sihammel one, he'd actually have to pay off letter
- 54:30in the episode, you notice there's the custody battance going bitter. Pay attention
- 54:32to that. I usually like Sarmel, but I like the way they sort
- 54:36of keep that little through line throughout the episode and experts disagree on location of
- 54:38Heaven. I hope that catches a helicopter to wolf Castle's wedding, very much
- 54:43like Dressy Park. Oh yeah, that was very much a shout out,
- 54:45wasn't it. Yeah, but he didn't touch the harness. Do we attach
- 54:49it if you don't mind the timing of that gag just felt slightly off,
- 54:54just slightly, but I was like, I know what you're doing here,
- 54:59It would feel very depending on you've got a time. That shs right next,
- 55:01just slightly I like to have paid off. Yeah, but they he's
- 55:05going now to make a young woman's wedding day all about himself and she's marrying
- 55:07a quimby Freddie's there. Yeah, I did like I did like home as
- 55:14catch, raise up, up and annoy. Now do you make a young
- 55:16woman's wedding day all about me? Do you right now? Luftwaffle wolf Castle
- 55:23take Maria Shreiver Kennedy Quimby to be your lawful wedded and annoy? Are you
- 55:32also requirements? Man? Is that horrible man gone yet? Yes? Mother
- 55:39borring some sort of pendulum effect First Amendment rules, privacy jewels. Time to
- 55:50squash that shut up bug. You promised me one day where you wouldn't swear
- 55:54revenge on someone. Promise revoked. So we come back from commercial and we're
- 56:00now at wolf Castle's mansion and he says, greetings, famous faces and sizzling
- 56:05stars. Cruss his response to his evite was the least funny, but he
- 56:08didn't get the jpeg. I'm like, that is so twand and seven the
- 56:14jpeg two. He says, you know he learned in his film what the
- 56:17film was called. But in order to feed a robo knights, you need
- 56:20another robo knife. So defeat the paparazzo, you need another one. And
- 56:22he's brought in Enrico Razzio voice by the legendary John Lovetts correct same voice for
- 56:29every character he does. But I never get sick of it. That's because
- 56:30you're a human being with a soul. How are you gonna help us be
- 56:35for RONI allow me to explain. I take embarrassing the pictures of a Homer
- 56:40had asked him day and night just as well. Be heard of that,
- 56:45and now you will be a god in your eyes. See it is good.
- 56:51I declare it's meeting a churned Now, please take some sushi, because
- 56:53if I give it to the dogs, they will take Oh. Now I
- 56:57get sushi all the time, and I am not made of sushi. Homer's
- 57:01now hanging Maggie from the mirror to the TV guy. I'd taken her seat
- 57:05belt and I just like that. She loved it as well. She was
- 57:07like laughing a great time, obviously incredibly dangerous. But Enrico arrives taking photos
- 57:10trying to make you look like a bad father. Maggie take the wheel,
- 57:15and just various photos like Homer wanting privacy when he's taking the shower out and
- 57:17the fire hydrant, things like that poo burns wolf Castle in side sho mail
- 57:21or reading it. Of course we get a side show mail line. I'm
- 57:23going to make it my screen saver somehow. I'm like, ah, okay,
- 57:29Homer is now asking in quizittor why do you publish all these photos of
- 57:31me, basically saying, well, I've got no friends, and we get
- 57:35just just like classic like JK. Simmons dialogue, jameson Dialogue isn't Yeah.
- 57:39Just now, Homer says he's gonna be giving up photography because you know,
- 57:45if he feels terrible because it now happened to him. He also gives up
- 57:47his medication and gets a clot whatever. But now at the snub club and
- 57:52they're back to their lives of super excess excess, yes themselves and he don't
- 57:57live today. Sidea Sosacha Mal's there with Princess Jasmine, you know, the
- 58:02stripper right, so he's clearly she's like he's his tail on the side.
- 58:07The divorce isn't going too well. And then we pan across too mos.
- 58:10Now did you notice the rain? No, So the snub Club's going off.
- 58:15It's a great night, music going and it pans across the street and
- 58:16the rain going forty five degree angle towards Mo's and everyone's sad. Listen to
- 58:22them, they're on the job of the world. Well, I'm sitting here
- 58:25pretending I have a steel because of a bunch of stuff that happened home.
- 58:30I don't be so quick, tor band in this Papa ratchet thing. Yeah,
- 58:34it's an American tradition to cut people down his size because they brought so
- 58:37much joy into our lives. You know what can't stand that? Robin Williams.
- 58:42You know what time I saw him eating dinner with his children. He
- 58:45wouldn't take the time out to do all the funny bits from his movies.
- 58:49And my sister would saw Burt Reynolds at the airport and he wouldn't even co
- 58:52side a mortgage. You guys are ruing. I hated to get back in
- 58:54the game. Oh but I threw away my camera. Oh he used this
- 58:59one. I was gonna use. Had to take secret photos in a lady's
- 59:01tailet, But no dame's ever come in this joint. Very small. Sure,
- 59:09excuse me? Do you have a ladies room? We need to trade
- 59:13bras and panties. Oh you gotta be kidding me. Yeah, little love
- 59:20it was. It was very on brand for MO but a little love color.
- 59:22I felt I just didn't seem a fitness episode. I was like,
- 59:24ah, I didn't really need it. But Homer then goes it goes over
- 59:30and this was awesome. Actually, Krusty makes the smoothie out of money.
- 59:32You call this a drink? No one never said it was a break And
- 59:37how do you want your come up and eat by ten or wallet size?
- 59:40Hide your shame? And Parish is kissing Mealhouse, Tatum is sniffing up the
- 59:45ashes of who secretary at the races, Mel is eating the flag and Kemp
- 59:51Brockman is tasing quimby in and they both like gimk yeah. Home then says
- 59:55he's going to do nothing with the photos. Though. All you have to
- 59:57do in return is show us a little respect to the people who made you
- 1:00:00who you are. Allow civilian to write a terrible children's book for you.
- 1:00:07I support a charity from something that doesn't It hasn't happened to someone of your
- 1:00:09family. It's like, that's so funny, because how often does like someone
- 1:00:13dying in a family of a celebrity. And it's like, I'm now starting
- 1:00:15a new charity. It's like we could just support an already existing one.
- 1:00:20That's true, that's true. Why did to start a new charity in your
- 1:00:23name? It's like, just support the ones that have been there forever that
- 1:00:27need your help. Good point. But then he invites because he's not gonna
- 1:00:30do anything with the photos, Renu invites him to the offshore party platform,
- 1:00:32off sure party platform. That's it. I like that. Yeah, But
- 1:00:36side Joe mal was there with his son. I was like a little bit
- 1:00:39of a payoff there. So he's a father Drederic Tatums just then in the
- 1:00:43background wearing Homer's old clothes, like the white shirt and the blue pants or
- 1:00:46so they meant to make you miss and every day. Man, I don't
- 1:00:50know. The march shows Renure with Castle an unsolicited manuscript of missus mum and
- 1:00:55celebrity has been celebrities. He's like, I don't don't read that stuff.
- 1:00:59Cue. At least it got made. It reminds me of an early nineties
- 1:01:02Whole Cogan film, like Mister Nanny. Oh yeah, well it isn't other
- 1:01:06that. It was like Santa Claus Base You remember that one. It was
- 1:01:07just called Santa with Muscles, with muscles wasn't Yeah, what are we doing
- 1:01:12here? Cinemator is there? At least it got made, as much says,
- 1:01:17and yeah, That'samarazzi a great episode. It's pretty good. Yeah,
- 1:01:21I think like going through it, you appreciate it more than there's so many
- 1:01:23gags and one liners and just there was no real moments that maybe it's at
- 1:01:28roll my eyes and I wish I wasn't there even like the moment I was
- 1:01:30like, if it's the character, Yeah, yeah, I mean Homer wasn't
- 1:01:34wasn't jerky or anything like that paparazzi. A paparazzo is a jerk, so
- 1:01:38that aspect of the character. But even then, I mean, I think
- 1:01:43I think I speak for both this when I say we don't like it when
- 1:01:45Home is a jerk to his family, no or for no reason. Yeah,
- 1:01:49whereas this, I mean we can all, we can all appreciate.
- 1:01:52Yeah, take that celebrities, you know when the jerk and this is pointing
- 1:01:55in the right direction, like, yeah, we appreciate that. Yes,
- 1:01:58yeah, especially when you bring out people at Paris. Because in this point
- 1:02:00in time, she copped it, didn't she like from the press and yeah,
- 1:02:05there's so I think she really played up the car. She steered into
- 1:02:08it as shit. She's like, how can I make some money? Play
- 1:02:10up this character. She thrived on pissing people off. Oh yeah, I
- 1:02:14mean again, for as long as there's been any form of show business,
- 1:02:19there's always been the character of the man or whatever character the man you love
- 1:02:24to hate. Yes, yeah, yeah, I mean we talked about Space
- 1:02:27earlier. I mean he made a pretty decent career out of playing that kind
- 1:02:30of person. And yeah, you could do you could, of course apply
- 1:02:34of course you apply that to reality TV. You mean, you've always got
- 1:02:37to you've got to have heels and baby faces. Pro wrestling is just like
- 1:02:40the most simple storytelling of all time. Absolutely it is. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:02:45but I mean you look at even early seasons of like Survivor, it's
- 1:02:50like, oh, you've got to have the one who's you know, kind
- 1:02:52of like oh they think I'm doing this, but I'm actually doing that.
- 1:02:54And Paris Hilton just did that. But she wasn't even hiding behind a character.
- 1:02:59It's just like that's right, I'm ranch Kardashian. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:02I mean I don't think that even the Kardashians do it as villainous anymore.
- 1:03:06I think they've kind of they're kind of just like lifestyles are rich and
- 1:03:08famous, and I think Parison was doing that to some degree. But I
- 1:03:13think she also was pretty savvy and like you either love me or you hate
- 1:03:16me, but you're talking about me. My man Oscar Wild once said,
- 1:03:20there's no Yeah, there's no such thing as bad publicity, hundred percent.
- 1:03:22Yeah, And I still buy into that, Oh is there? I mean,
- 1:03:25Jonathan major Is might pig to differ, but that's true. That's true.
- 1:03:30Yeah, but yeah, I do buy into that to an extent.
- 1:03:36That line the whole. Any publicity's good publicity until it ruins your career.
- 1:03:40Yeah, that's the only thing. I mean. I think you've got to
- 1:03:42be kind of cluey about how is this sustainable? Is this sustainable? And
- 1:03:46if it's not, let's cash in as quickly as possible and let's you know,
- 1:03:52gather as much as we can. You know, during a nut gathering
- 1:03:54season, do you reckon like slabs from like the seventies, eighties? It's
- 1:03:59a bid nineties, right, look back now, I'll look now and go,
- 1:04:01fuck, well, lucky social media wasn't around. Oh god, I
- 1:04:04think everyone thinks that because there's we've all had a moment in our life we
- 1:04:10were just gone, I think funk, no one knows what happened. Oh
- 1:04:14my god, years what do we learn? Bomber? All right? That
- 1:04:17was what do you learn from this episode? That's a pretty good question.
- 1:04:21You find out I learned that first moment rules. Oh but privacy rules.
- 1:04:26Yeah. I learned that one stem cell of heater is never enough. It's
- 1:04:29never enough. What's your what would be your lead to trade moment? If
- 1:04:34someone brought out something at a party, Oh, sliders for me to be
- 1:04:38sliders, chicken sliders. Chicken slider is a good one. Or I've had
- 1:04:44a party recently and they had it catered and one of the things was like
- 1:04:48little either like Indian lamb cutlets and oh shit, that one nice. Everyone
- 1:04:56was kind of like, give me it's cutler girl. Yeah. But do
- 1:05:00you find sometimes at parties where you're like, I really like this just for
- 1:05:03me. It's usually aaron chini ball or something. It's like I love them,
- 1:05:05right, but it's like how many can I eat before people start going
- 1:05:09fatty fat fat fat? Or people start going for the rest of us,
- 1:05:14Yeah, fat fuck. Yeah, that's what It's true. It's one you
- 1:05:18got to be really cautious about. It is all your sort of like I
- 1:05:20think it's like three of the one item. Once you go more than three,
- 1:05:23everyone's like, calm down, mate, he's up on the Arranini balls
- 1:05:27there for everybody. Are you talking about ones where they're being passed around or
- 1:05:30one whether they're on the table now when they're being passed around, Remember like
- 1:05:33because the chicks comes passing and it's just like to have another one. She's
- 1:05:38like another one? Fine? Uh I remember like occasionally foot it like at
- 1:05:45the present room. It then continia park why as we all do as you
- 1:05:49do it? You know three hounter time they bring out the little tray of
- 1:05:54like party pies and little Saussage rollers, like I would be like a little
- 1:05:59you're relating to the every man here. Do you know when you go to
- 1:06:00footying, you sitting in the President's room. From day forward, your names
- 1:06:08will be new names, mister Davis. All right, So the current leaderboard
- 1:06:13stands at this in first position, we of course have our man Philip J.
- 1:06:17Hawkins seventeen points, Kyle muldoon clever Kyle in second position on fourteen points,
- 1:06:23and Luke McKay he's done it again on eleven points in third position.
- 1:06:27Let's see if those numbers change when we do the new name challenge for Homerazzi.
- 1:06:30One point goes to stop or my Dad will shoot. That is Luke
- 1:06:35McKay's done it again. He's now on twelve points. He's got one vote
- 1:06:39closer to our man, Philip J. Hawkins. Well, let's see what
- 1:06:42happens with two points goes to pap smear. Perhaps Kyle muldoon clever Kyle,
- 1:06:50Kyle's two points closer to Philip jay Hawks. Now Kyle's on sixteen points,
- 1:06:55so he's only one point behind Philip J. Now sixteen points and seventeen points
- 1:06:58can bend. This can be really interesting because three points are going to fat
- 1:07:02Man Snoop, Fat Man Snoop? Is Philip? Are you shitting me?
- 1:07:09I'm actually not again, You've got three two one again we have to reiterate
- 1:07:15listeners, new name challenges done blind, You've got what they thought they were
- 1:07:21getting closer, and then Philip's just like, I'm actually further away now,
- 1:07:29particularly because it's gone. The leader board was three to two one. Oh
- 1:07:33my god. Kyle Muldoon was literally for about I don't know, twenty seconds,
- 1:07:38one point behind. First is now for girl's listeners going yeah, it's
- 1:07:42me Carlstime to shine And then this happens. Oh guys, look, I'd
- 1:07:45say I'm sorry, except I'm not because this is really interesting and kind of
- 1:07:48fun. Here all right, first question here comes from Rachel MacLean. Do
- 1:07:56you think paparazzi slash photographers are two intrusive and celebrities lives so sure? Summer,
- 1:08:00I think taking photos when they're out in family vacations and stuff is a
- 1:08:02pretty shitty deal. It seems like they're out in the beach or whatever.
- 1:08:05It's like they're with their kids. Just let them hang out. I'm sure
- 1:08:09it has sort of become oh yeah, okay, this is part of the
- 1:08:11deal. Okay, take a few shots. And I mean, I think
- 1:08:14you've got a lot of a lot of celebrities who go, all right,
- 1:08:16guys, you got five minutes, take of all the shots you want,
- 1:08:18but then leave us alone. And you've got some par rubber. You've got
- 1:08:25some paparazzi who had been around for a while and know the tricks and probably
- 1:08:27have even built up sort of decent relationships with the talent where they go,
- 1:08:31okay, yeah, that'll be fine, I'll get what I need to get.
- 1:08:33But then you've got others who are probably like enthusiastic amateurs or just trying
- 1:08:38to kids with phones in their hands or in just kids with phones in their
- 1:08:40hands, gout it's door. We keep going to Chris Hamsworth for this.
- 1:08:44Is he the biggest Australians. I'm Margo Robbie Now, yeah, I think
- 1:08:46Margo Robbie is probably leading the pack. Yeah she really is, all right.
- 1:08:49Ryan King says a bit of a cliche question, but we celebrity living
- 1:08:51or dead? Would you most like to hang out with? For me,
- 1:08:54it would probably be Mick Fleetwood. Mick Fleetwood so we could talk drumming and
- 1:08:58music all day. I just think Black would be fun to hang out with.
- 1:09:00It just seems like an absolute dude. Yes, have you seen because
- 1:09:03I rewatch Shallow Hell recently? Have you seen Shallow Hell? I have seen
- 1:09:05Shallow So there's a scene where so he's seeing people for their beauty on the
- 1:09:10inside, right, and he goes to the burn Ward but doesn't know it's
- 1:09:13the burn Ward and he's talking to all the kids and the way he's hanging
- 1:09:15out with the kids and making him feel special, Like I think, I
- 1:09:16feel like that's just Jack Black. I feel like that's who he would be.
- 1:09:19Because there's a video on social media of where there was a fan of
- 1:09:23his who was wheelchair bound. Yes, and he's like he like, listen
- 1:09:26played the song, sang the song for him. I'm like that just what
- 1:09:28a fucking legend. Yeah yeah, I thought that was pretty cool. Yeah,
- 1:09:31oh god, Affleck. I'd want to hang out with Bennett Fleck.
- 1:09:34Okay, what would you ask him? What would you want to talk about?
- 1:09:38I think we just go to Dunkin Donuts and get like a crawler and
- 1:09:42a cup of coffee and just you know, talk shit. I'd want to
- 1:09:44ask him about you know, they're making a good one hunting and you know,
- 1:09:47Muggie, you're big on air, weren't you? I was big on
- 1:09:53air. I kind of liked it. Yeah. I just think Affleck strikes
- 1:09:56me as a really cool dude. He does. He seems like sometimes he's
- 1:09:59like a awards ceremonies and stuff and it's just like he doesn't want to be
- 1:10:01there. Yeah, So I get the feeling he'd probably be quite canned about.
- 1:10:06This part of it suck, but this part of it's cool. Yeah.
- 1:10:09Yeah, I think yeah, Affleck afflic and I go Jack Black Final
- 1:10:14one here Andrew Swan, what's the strangest photo that you do? We have
- 1:10:16no, Andrew j JP this week, Andrew, wait, I've got top,
- 1:10:21that's top. Oh, I haven't got all comments. I think the
- 1:10:25top comments. Oh J, it's become kind of a mail bag tradition.
- 1:10:31Yeah, and you look, guy looked genuinely sad there. If it lost,
- 1:10:38JP, pack up the show. That's it. We are now the
- 1:10:45the m CU of podcast. That's the shark jump over it. But Andrew
- 1:10:48JP says, thoughts on the paparazzi, their scumbags will do anything for a
- 1:10:51sensationalist story or just regular Jonah's following orders from their editorial team. Answer this,
- 1:10:57but yeah, yeah, yeah, Look, I think a lot of
- 1:11:00paparazzi, a lot of freelancers, Yeah, a lot of their own sort
- 1:11:04of their own employers, like gotta get the skip, Yeah, I got
- 1:11:08to get that incriminating snap. Yes. Harrison McClure says, what's the best
- 1:11:14meeting of celebrity interaction meeting? I think it means all celebrity interaction story you've
- 1:11:17ever heard, good or bad. His is one is a bit long winded,
- 1:11:20but he'll keep it brief because he knows Dando would really like it.
- 1:11:24At my old barbershop, one of my colleagues's clients. Was a chef who
- 1:11:27used to be part of an agency for celebrities, etc. So he would
- 1:11:30always give us a brief of which ones he met who were cool. So
- 1:11:32Margot, Robbie was cool, Beyonce wasn't, etc. But one time he
- 1:11:35cooked for Paul McCartney and his family at their home in the Cotswolds. After
- 1:11:40the dinner, Paul invited him to the front room for a drink and a
- 1:11:42chat with a family, and he was apparently incredibly nice when the grandkids were
- 1:11:45sent to bed, but asked him to play a song before bed, so
- 1:11:46he whacked out a guitar and started playing Yesterday. So in short, this
- 1:11:49fellare got a private gy with a beetle. That's pretty rad. Yeah,
- 1:11:53that's a good story. I don't mine is John Devolton. I've told him
- 1:12:00numerous times in his podcast you know my mom? Yes, yeah, where
- 1:12:02he just I remember saying basically, if you haven't heard the story, it
- 1:12:05was a meet and greet with John Tavolta. I went just because you know,
- 1:12:09I wanted to be able to tee this up from my mum, my
- 1:12:11mum worship. John de Volta absolutely loves the man, and as I was
- 1:12:14getting my photo, I just said to him the next person, my mom,
- 1:12:16she's an angel and she absolutely loves you. You can make extra specially
- 1:12:18that be great, And he was just like, what's the name. I
- 1:12:20said, Marsha, And I remember like walking off and hearing me say Marsha,
- 1:12:24and my mom just broke down crying, and it's like he made an
- 1:12:26extra special. But I always remember the moment. I wish I had have
- 1:12:29like got my phone out and filmed it, but they were like no phones,
- 1:12:30that kind of thing because I'm doing a meet and greet taking their own
- 1:12:32photos themselves. But I looked over him and he was hugging and he gave
- 1:12:35my mom. She went to walk off, and he pulled it back for
- 1:12:38a second hug and looked over at me and gave me a wink. And
- 1:12:41I was like, what an absolute fucking legend. That's that's the Lord behaving.
- 1:12:44Good on him, Yeah, good on him. What about you have
- 1:12:45a moment like that with a sort of yeah, I mean, oh god,
- 1:12:48it's coming up on about ten years ago now. But Bruce Campbell of
- 1:12:55Evil Dead fame, you might have mentioned this. Actually he did the gig
- 1:12:58with him. Yeah, he came to Melbour to do a bit of a
- 1:13:00meet and greet. He was signing posters and doing photo ops with with fans,
- 1:13:04and he was presenting the first two episodes of Ashpst. Evil Dead,
- 1:13:11the TV series for this smaller the premiere, Yeah, for this small audience
- 1:13:15at a cinema in Melbourne. And I hosted the Q and A beforehand,
- 1:13:19and I've always sid yeah, I mean I was watching him, you know,
- 1:13:21take all these photos with let's face it, these dogs. Yeah.
- 1:13:26Yeah, but before before it would be like, okay, be cool.
- 1:13:30And I've always said for that second they were cool, and they were.
- 1:13:36You could just sort of see them change. They change. Yeah, it
- 1:13:39transforms them, it really does. And that was fantastic. And then I
- 1:13:42hosted the Q and A with with Bruce who I can call Bruce cos we're
- 1:13:45best buds. Up coming guests on the show, one would hope. So
- 1:13:50actually he'd be a fucking good gues Yeah. I keep meaning to sort of
- 1:13:54try and d m him via social media, remember me? And they gave
- 1:13:57host that thing in Melbourne. Sure you'd do it, but could you possibly
- 1:14:01give me like a what do you call it? A testimonial? For you
- 1:14:04know if oh, yes, I remember guy hosting this Q and A.
- 1:14:08You did a really professional job. It's like, please do that for me.
- 1:14:12But at the end he like, I just went for a handshake and
- 1:14:15yeah, say thanks very much for all that. And he sort of did
- 1:14:17like the you know he turned it yeah, yeah, no, the yeah,
- 1:14:21the handhakeer you grabbed the thumb instead, Yeah, like the bro hands
- 1:14:26that one. Yeah yeah, and sort of pulled me a little bit closer
- 1:14:28and that that was good. That went really well, and I'm like,
- 1:14:31oh, yeah, so that was one of my favorite interactions. And then
- 1:14:39you had the one we had a cigarette with the dude from Sons of Anakinton
- 1:14:43that was pretty neat. Actually, yeah, I was hosting a couple of
- 1:14:45Q and as with some of the Sons and Anarchy cast members. Did one
- 1:14:48in Adelaide and one in Melbourne, and then the one in Adelaide. Yeah,
- 1:14:54we were ended up out front of this guy, Mark Boone Junior's hotel.
- 1:14:59You'll reckon, you know, Mark Boone Jr. Long frizzy hair,
- 1:15:01long frizzy hair. Be it sort of looks like he just came down from
- 1:15:03the mountain. It's not siled. Oh, yeah, yeah, I mean
- 1:15:06and terrific actor. He's been in so much stuff over the years, and
- 1:15:11high profile stuff as well, and may being a bit of a dog.
- 1:15:15I was like, and I wasn't even really smoking that stage it was,
- 1:15:18but twel was, but like he's having a sea around, Like, can
- 1:15:23I have one of those and ask you some questions about working with Christopher Nolan
- 1:15:26on The Dark Night? No? Actually no, it's sorry, I'm working
- 1:15:28on Batman begins. He said, yeah, man, absolutely, And it
- 1:15:31turns out Gary Oldman it was an arsehole because he had like one big thing
- 1:15:36with Gary Oldmans, like he didn't give me anything. It was an asshole.
- 1:15:40He gave you a scene. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So we're
- 1:15:42in front of this hotel in Adelaide on like a Tuesday night, smoking a
- 1:15:45sig talking about movies. That's cool. He wast your dream thing, isn't
- 1:15:47it right? Oh? Absolutely, just hanging out just chatting movies. Yeah
- 1:15:50yeah, I mean that was a that was a really great gig. I
- 1:15:53mean, I was just meant to do an interview with one of the guys
- 1:15:55from Sons of Anarchy and then the promo guy said, the theo Rossia carst
- 1:16:00Memory, who I spoke to the Beard, right, he's the one that
- 1:16:03played like the he was a younger Yeah, he was a younger guy.
- 1:16:06Oh no, Kim Coat. Kim coats. Yeah, it was also on
- 1:16:11he was on that tour, wasn't he he was? Yeah? I think
- 1:16:13was he the the ball guy was the I think he always has his hair?
- 1:16:16Oh no, think I now, Yeah, the little runty one kind
- 1:16:18of thing. I said, more compared to the rest of the Sons of
- 1:16:21Anarchy, Yes, yeah, uh And that did. Interview went really well,
- 1:16:25and the person only tours said have you ever done any sort of Q
- 1:16:29and A work or hosting works? Yeah, I've done some of that,
- 1:16:30and what do you want to do this and this? And I'm like,
- 1:16:32absolutely I do. I flew me into Adelaide and paid me, and I
- 1:16:35mean Peede worked last and also I was like, sorry, this me rab
- 1:16:41iting on, but I mean I was like, oh, I'm going to
- 1:16:44do my research on Sense of Anakin. I'm going to come up with all
- 1:16:45these questions like no, we've got a list of questions for you. We've
- 1:16:47got a running sheet, so I don't have to do any work. I
- 1:16:54get paid to speak. Yeah, pretty much, wouldn't that be fun,
- 1:16:57and by the end of it, I was kind of like, you know,
- 1:16:59not ripping, but you do a bit of free associating. And I
- 1:17:01was given Kim Coach's ship for being Canadian. Kim is like he's still in
- 1:17:05my spot, Like, get this fucker off the stage. This is always
- 1:17:11dead. Yeah. I find a question to Andrew Swan, what's the strangest
- 1:17:14photo that you have on your camera? Role? Bonus points if you post
- 1:17:16it in the Patreon group during the episode, otherwise otherwise guy will forget to
- 1:17:19do it. You got my number strangest photo you mean, like, is
- 1:17:27a deck pict strange? Yeah, it's your, not mine. That asks
- 1:17:32me how it got yours the strangest photo Mine honestly monitors the kids now they
- 1:17:38do some strange ship but like, yeah, might have just Luin the cat.
- 1:17:42Yeah it's yeah, it's's usually a family selfies or just the kids.
- 1:17:47I don't take phos or anything else anymore. I have any friends. I
- 1:17:50don't go do things by podcast and look after the kids. That's my life.
- 1:17:56This is like, this is like Dan Doe's Peter Dinglige on on Game
- 1:17:59of their Own podcast and I do im drink and I know stuff. Yeah,
- 1:18:03I don't think I've got anything all that strange. I mean, I
- 1:18:06think if you ask me, what's the strangest photo that I've saved, like
- 1:18:11from Yeah, because you'll see like a picture on Twitter or whatever, it's
- 1:18:15like, oh that's interesting or whatever. And yeah to the nude album,
- 1:18:18yes, f w F. But oh you think, oh I can turn
- 1:18:26this into a meme or I can you know, put it on the Yeah,
- 1:18:30Dan, especially Dan's a bit of a meme king. Meme king.
- 1:18:32You did pretty well the memes. You create some good ones. I try
- 1:18:36what I actually try to steal. That is true. But people people send
- 1:18:44us the memes, can you post us on your page? And I'm like,
- 1:18:45cool, yeah, sure I post it. And it's like you didn't
- 1:18:47give them credit. I'm like, check the comments. I always given credit.
- 1:18:49People say angry about the credits. I'm like, I don't steal anything.
- 1:18:55People send me fucking memes and they asked me to post it, and
- 1:18:57I post it, and then you guys get angry at me. So don't
- 1:19:00get angry. You won't post any all means. And we all love those
- 1:19:02tasty, tasty meme We do love those memes. Indeed, But anyway,
- 1:19:04guys, thank you for listening to our review of Homarazzi. I hope you
- 1:19:08enjoyed it. I certainly enjoyed chat Us Davis about it because I thought this
- 1:19:11was this is my favorite episode of the season so far, without a doubt.
- 1:19:14I enjoyed it very very much as well. Yeah, I think we
- 1:19:17we do our season and like wrap up, this will definitely be in both
- 1:19:19our top threes. I think so. Yes. Yeah, but next episode
- 1:19:24is Marge Gamer. And this is an episode that is not as good as
- 1:19:27Amarazzi Hamarazzi, but it's enjoyable for what it is. So Essentially, the
- 1:19:30story is that Bart is playing an online video game and then Marge joins the
- 1:19:34online video game to play with him, to be part of her son's life,
- 1:19:38and shouting has happened, my favorite kind of thing that happens. Yeah,
- 1:19:42and there's also an enjoyable b plot with Homer and Lisa as well.
- 1:19:45I like it when Lisa takes advantage of a situation, becomes like the bad
- 1:19:48girl, or she she goes against her morals. That's what she does in
- 1:19:50this episode. Anyway, It's Marge Gamer is next week's look at for that
- 1:19:55in your feed. It's also got plenty of classic reviews coming up as well,
- 1:19:58with some guest There has been a review of Pimarazzi next week March Gamer
- 1:20:01mister Davis, any final words for those amazing listeners out there, up,
- 1:20:04up, and annoy
