Schmidt Returns to Wild on Two-Way Deal | Minnesota Wild News
The Minnesota Wild just re-signed defenseman Roman Schmidt to a one-year, two-way deal for 2026-27, bringing him back after a solid AHL stint with Iowa last season. The 23-year-old, acquired from the Flyers in March, tallied two assists and 34 penalty minutes in 19 games for Iowa, and racked up 94 penalty minutes across 48 AHL games with three teams. A former OHL standout with nearly 200 games and 99 points, Schmidt was drafted by Tampa Bay in 2021.
