Transcript
- 0:02Welcome to Worldview Matters. Discussing controversial issues. Discerning current events. Defending biblical Christianity. No topic. Off limits. And now, here's your host, David Fiorazzo.
- 0:20Friends and family in Christ, thank you so much for tuning in to another podcast, and especially your sharing and your prayers for this ministry. We praise God for, I think we're going on four and a half years. Maybe, I know it's more than four, but hard to keep track already. But thank you, guys. So we've got Dr. Mike Spaulding back with us again. I want to give you a couple of websites. We're talking about current events and things we haven't touched on for maybe several weeks here.
- 0:47But the main website is drmikespalding.com, and doctor is just drmikespalding.com. Also, he is on Substack, substack.com, Mike Spalding. Well, welcome, brother. Thanks for coming on today. Good to see you again.
- 1:04It's good to see you again, David. Thank you for the invite. It's always a wonderful conversation when I'm with you. It is. I'm blessed by it as well. And I see you had Brad Reeves on recently. He's got a conference coming up. We've been talking about that. He's been a friend of this podcast. And you've talked to Tom Hughes recently as well. He was just on with us last week. But I want to talk about a conference that you're doing. As our audience understands, now we are doing another Worldview Matters conference next year.
- 1:34April 30th and May 1st, friends, Green Bay, Wisconsin. No excuses. Schedule that before your vacation time next year. And Mike, tell us about your conference, which is, my goodness, it's coming up very, very shortly. Tell us about that.
- 1:50Yeah, July 24th and 25th. David, we always have it the last full weekend of July. So if July, if that final weekend splits into August, then we back it up. So that's why we have it the July 24th and 25th this year. We're having Tom Hughes, Olivier Milnec, Carl Gallops, J.B. Hickson, Derek Gilbert,
- 2:16Dr. Greg Reed, Carl Teichrib, and Mark Musser. Mark is on sabbatical from the Ukraine. He's a long time missionary in Russia, and now in the Ukraine, has written a fantastic book. In fact, I can share that information
- 2:36with you after this broadcast. I think you would make a wonderful guest for your show. Livestream is available. GoThereForConference.com. GoThereForConference.com. You can livestream it at any time.
- 2:52So we keep the prices low because it isn't about nickels and noses. It's about bringing the body of Christ together and building them up for these very strange days that we live in. Yes, strange for sure. So that's, again, July 24-25, Brookville, Ohio.
- 3:10And it's the Go Therefore Conference. And my goodness, it'll be here before we know it. But Brother wanted to get a plug in for that. And also my friends at Liberty Pastors are continuing to try to wake up the body of Christ and equip the saints. They're holding one in Oak Brook, Illinois, right near Chicago. It's July 27th through the 30th.
- 3:31So you can go to libertypastors.com, or there may be, gosh, there's a site, or the website, it escapes me right now, but look up Liberty Pastors Worldview Training Camp. That is going to be right near Chicago, and it's like $99 for pastors and their wives, and you got the hotel paid for, you got meals paid for, you got the full conference, and here are some of the speakers here.
- 3:59Paul Blair, Dr. Rick Scarborough, Alex Newman, Bill Federer, Rick Green, Frank Gaffney, Dran Reese, and a couple others. So friends, please let your pastors know about that. We need to get the pastors up to speed so they can equip the pastors.
- 4:18the saints so they can get their congregations awakened and edified and equipped. So go to libertypastors.com. And again, forgive me for not remembering. There's a different word in the website. So we'll have to put that in the notes, the description. So, Mike, we're going to talk about a lot of things today, but I want to mention your book.
- 4:39Again, since we haven't had you on in a while, we talked last time we had you on about replacement theology. Sad that we have to talk about this today, but that's been a cancer in the church, which has led to a lot of anti-Semitism that we're seeing today. And I'm not even talking about in our culture, which is understandable if you look at college campuses and the demonic activity around our nation, but in churches—
- 5:05Mike, so where do you want to start today? I know we want to talk about Israel, Iran, President Trump, and some of the head-scratching decisions he's been making. So wherever you'd like to start today. Well, let me just say a quick word about the anti-Semitism that has, I mean, it's on steroids today, David. I've walked with the Lord for 43 years, have loved the
- 5:28the Jewish nation, the Jewish people, my entire faith life, 43 years. And I've never, ever seen the hatred, the vitriolic, the anger that's out there today. And I might add this, David, a lot of it is fueled by falsehoods.
- 5:53Maybe I should use a different word, but I think some people are anti-Semitic out of pure ignorance because they do not understand the Bible storyline. If you understand the Bible storyline, you cannot be anti-Semitic. It's impossible if you understand the Bible storyline. Yeah.
- 6:16I'll be gracious to those that are not as gracious. But anyway, yeah, a lot of things going on, David, in the world today. And probably we should we should start with President Trump. And let me just say, I'm so thankful for for for President Trump. Yeah.
- 6:38He's and I was on with Pete Garcia earlier this week and he made a statement. I said, you know, that's absolutely true. Hadn't heard that statement. I think he was quoting somebody else. And I don't recall.
- 6:52But he said, President Trump has done about 20 years worth of work in two years. Yeah. And I thought, you know what? That's pretty accurate, actually. He's done so much. Now, the issue, as you well know, David, is that.
- 7:11He's done a lot of it through executive order, and that's only as good as his administration is in office because once he's out, then – and especially if somebody from the Democratic side gets in, all those things are toast. But anyway, having said that, I guess I say that, David, to kind of cushion what I'm going to say next.
- 7:42For me, they're just head scratchers, such ass. It was maybe a month ago, he was praising the new Ayatollah, the people that the U.S. representatives were talking to, trying to hammer out this memorandum of understanding. Oh, they're rational, reasonable people. We're going to get this done. And I heard that a dozen times. I heard it once.
- 8:08And now, just a couple of days ago, now they're evil, they're wicked, they're, can I use this word, scum? Scum of the earth? They are crazy. You cannot negotiate. Well, President Trump, that's what many of us were saying from the get-go. You cannot negotiate.
- 8:32with this Iranian regime. And what some folks don't understand, David, is the reason that you can't negotiate with this regime that's in charge is because of their eschatology. Now that may raise some eyebrows for some people, but if you understand what their eschatology is,
- 8:51They have no intention of ever, ever bowing the knee to anyone because they believe, their eschatology teaches, they believe that by causing chaos, by disrupting, by trying to conquer, I mean, that's why they're funding the,
- 9:10The Houthis, Hamas, Hezbollah, that's where they're funding these proxies against Israel. They believe that they are preparing the way for the Mahdi, that the 12th Iman, their Messiah figure, will come back. They're not about to agree to anything. So the only solution is, and I actually heard this out of President Trump's mouth. I know you heard it as well.
- 9:34We need to finish what we started. Now, I hope that means not that he goes in and carpet bombs, but that he deposes this regime and those that are responsible for keeping in power and turn Iran back to the people. And I think if he can do that,
- 9:58He'll go down in history as one of, if not the greatest president that we have ever seen. I believe that as well. But I'm also a little confused because of some of his actions. And what even when you sent me some notes, I like this word. You said Trump's vacillating.
- 10:18you're thinking, well, doesn't he understand? I don't expect him to understand the biblical worldview and eschatology of Christianity versus Islam and Muslims, but...
- 10:30We've got how many years of history of Iran not, you know, I mean, breaking agreements and promises and you can't trust them. And yet he's these ceasefires are, I think I told you before we got on the podcast, a bit tedious, the back and forth, knowing.
- 10:52that they're not going to keep their word. So it's a little frustrating, Mike. So speak some sense into that. I'm trying to understand it myself. Yeah. So the frustrating thing for me in all of this, David, is that he expected Israel, even though they were being pounded, Hezbollah was continuing to attack, launch missiles and mortars.
- 11:17He expected Israel to show restraint because the most important thing to him, at least a month ago, was that this memorandum of agreement gets signed and then a peace deal. They can move on to this peace deal. And it's like you're throwing Israel under the bus. Now, and I agree with what you said. I don't expect him to have a biblical worldview. I don't.
- 11:40And I don't even expect his advisors, even though I know that one or two of them are born again Christians. I don't know about their eschatology, but somebody needs to be informing him from purely a geopolitical position. And maybe he's listening to these folks now. You cannot negotiate with these folks. Remember that tweet? He from I don't know when it was. It was seven, eight years ago.
- 12:09He said, Iran has never won a war, but they've never lost a negotiation. You remember that tweet that he put out and everybody was talking about it. And I said, hello, short term memory loss. You've already admitted it. And yet you're pressing. I think part of it is that he's a businessman and he thinks everybody's rational enough that they'll see this is a really good deal and you should agree to it. Well,
- 12:34Not when you're dealing with religious zealots like this Iranian regime is. And, um, yeah. And so the vacillating back and forth. Well, I'll give you another example. He was, he just had, uh, uh, reset Bertigan and at the white house earlier. And, um,
- 12:57saying wonderful things about him. The same things he said about the Ayatollah. Oh, this Ayatollah is rational and reasonable. Oh, we're going to, you know, saying all these wonderful things about Erdogan. And this is the same man who has consistently said that he wants to destroy Israel. He wants to take that land back. He wants to establish a new caliphate across the Middle East. It's like,
- 13:25And he's thinking about selling them F-35s. David, that defies...
- 13:32logic, any kind, there is no rational argument that you can make to sell Turkey, a sworn enemy of Israel, who, by the way, shares a border with Iran, very friendly with that regime, and you're going to sell them F-35s, the current advanced fighter jet? I just think that's
- 13:58Well, yeah, that's crazy is what that is. Yeah, I saw that headline. I was hoping that wasn't a true story or there was more to it than meets the eye. But, Mike, I think what a lot of people don't understand is, first of all, I think let's let's back up a minute and let's please, friends, let's pray for wisdom.
- 14:17For our president, whether you like him or not, he is America's president right now. And I know some Christians can't stand him. But you know what? You better pray for him. Because he's got, you know, until 2028, there's a lot of decisions that are going to need to be made. And who knows? He's probably, his advisors are probably giving him...
- 14:38both different kinds of advice. And I can't imagine how difficult that would be in that situation with these huge world-impacting decisions that he's got to make. So pray for wisdom for him. But I think part of it is, you're right, Mike. He's a great businessman and a dealmaker, but yet money can become a god or an idol, and you can kind of forget why the people elected you
- 15:07I just had a pastor on the podcast recently talking about how what would make America truly great, and that would be the citizenry being Christian or coming back to God, repenting, that we would have the proper biblical worldview in the church. That would make America truly great, not anything politically. However, Christians should influence America.
- 15:33politics and be involved and vote. Can you speak to that briefly before we move on? Yeah, it's our responsibility to be involved civically. And I describe it this way, David. The people of America, they're going to elect someone. And the chances are pretty good that the person that gets elected is not going to share some or perhaps all of our
- 16:03beliefs, our worldview. So why wouldn't you want to be involved to at least influence who it is that's elected? And I understand in any election, you've got a handful of candidates,
- 16:34You're not going to find a candidate that is going to match up completely. However, that's not an excuse for refusing to participate. We've been, as Americans, we are the most blessed nation in this context ever.
- 16:53The most blessed nation in that our founders gave us a form of government where the people have a say. And in fact, the people are supposed to have the say. Now that's gotten kind of sideways now with politicians just ignoring their constituents because, as you mentioned, money talks. Money talks, and that's what's going on in Washington, D.C. So we have got to be involved civically.
- 17:22In the least...
- 17:24you have to be involved in who it is that's sitting on your city's council. Yes. Who's serving as mayor, who's serving as county commissioners, who's on the board of education at your local schools, who represents you in your district, in your state house, as a rep or as a senator. In the least, you should be involved there. Because if you're not, you've got nothing to say, no room to complain or groan and moan
- 17:54about what's coming out of the state house. And besides that, the issues that really matter are going to be decided at state houses, David. And I'll just mention this one, and then I'll toss it back to you. Protecting the life of the pre-born. Oh my goodness. Yes. That should be a priority for every born again believer.
- 18:19at the top of the list of priorities protecting the lives of the pre-born. Can we not agree on that? And that's reason enough to be involved in your local politics to make sure you're sending, because once the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, they sent it back to the states. And there is a very coordinated effort at the state level to
- 18:44to get in state constitutions the right to abortion on demand, and that needs to be stopped across America. I'm glad you brought that up, Mike. This is a demonic agenda of the left. It's kill, steal, and destroy, whether it's abortion, euthanasia, transgenderism, cutting off kids' organs, body parts. But let's talk about abortion for a minute.
- 19:10Because if you don't have a right to life, it doesn't matter if you're born in a free country, you're not going to be born if you don't have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. But let's talk about Planned Parenthood. This has slid under the radar. They are now fully funded again from our taxpayer dollars because Congress, I believe it was the Senate, did not vote to continue to ban funding.
- 19:35They're getting over $600,000, I believe, or $600 million a year now, Planned Parenthood.
- 19:44Not only that, but the mail order abortions, the chemical abortions, the drug, they're going through the roof. They're going across state lines. So abortion has increased dramatically since Roe v. Wade was overturned. What's wrong with this picture, Mike? I know I'm getting passionate, but this is an issue that the church should be speaking boldly, loudly and clearly and biblically about.
- 20:11Amen, David. I appreciate you being passionate about that because it is a pride of what you're never going to hear, ever, never going to hear is the fact that this could have been shut down if Republicans who claim to represent and care about the pre-born, if they had just stood up.
- 20:36and voted the right way, then that funding would have disappeared. But guess what? There are people on the Republican side of the aisle that are getting money from Planned Parenthood. Everybody and their brother knows it's a matter of public record that that $600 million is
- 20:58a good chunk of that is used as kickbacks. That's right. Whatever you want to call it. That money gets funneled back to politicians, and a good many of those are Republicans. And so they are receiving their filthy lucre, their blood money, for going along with the murder of pre-born children.
- 21:22God help them. Let me say one more thing. The thing we often repeat is elections have consequences. It's not just the communists and the Marxists and the Democrat socialists, which is kind of one party.
- 21:37But Republicans, there are rhinos that are not voted once they get elected. So even on the Republican side, elections matter, guys. And you've got to make sure to get the right people running for office, local politics, local elections matter. But let's get back now to the topic, Mike. I'm glad we went over to that and came back here. What is Israel doing now?
- 22:02In light of Trump's behavior, because you said earlier that he kind of threw him under the bus when they have every right to defend themselves. But now, so where are we at now in your perspective here? What's Israel doing and what do you think is going to happen?
- 22:16Yeah, that's a great question, David. So there are multiple things that are going on. You're not going to hear a lot of coverage in the American media, but if you pay attention to some of the media in Israel, and there are English language websites, the Jerusalem Post is one, Haritz is another. There are several that
- 22:42that are available for you to keep up on what's happening. So right now, currently in Israel, the Israeli deep state is trying to torpedo submarine, destroy Netanyahu's chances at being reelected, that is government forming that coalition. They're trying to destroy that right now because if Netanyahu stays in office
- 23:11I believe Israel's going to finish the job in this season. They're going to finish the job. They've already, with the U.S.'s help, come to an agreement with Lebanon. And that agreement, I was listening to somebody, some commentary on that agreement. It's a very good agreement. And it will provide for safety for Israel's northern region.
- 23:37area that borders with Lebanon. But it's going to take the Lebanese government and the Lebanese army to step up and get rid of Hezbollah. And that's easier said than done. So that's one thing that they're doing. Israel is also right now in the process of fortifying their own military industry so that they can be a little more independent. Yeah.
- 24:06from the United States as far as supplying them with munitions. So they're in that process. They're also expanding their military sales to other nations, some of their air defense systems that they're developing. So Israel is beefing up because I think with Trump's vacillating
- 24:29Netanyahu and some of the folks in the Israeli government that are with him see things the same way he does. And Netanyahu is the clearest thinking, clearest vision leader that Israel has had in my lifetime.
- 24:45The rest of them were all under this deception and delusion that you could offer land for peace. It has never worked, and it's never going to work because those that are in charge of the terrorism there –
- 25:00They don't want to share with Israel. They want to annihilate Israel. From the river to the sea is actually what they mean. They want to annihilate every Jewish person in Israel. Drive them out. Make them extinct. So all of that's going on in Israel right now. And keep your eyes. I've said this. You've probably said the same thing, David, over the years.
- 25:26Israel, in my opinion, is God's timepiece. If you want to know what time it is on the prophetic clock where we're at in relation to the return of Jesus, keep your eye on Israel. And the reason that I say that, and the reason this may be puzzling to some people, the reason I say that is because the prophetic scriptures stated pretty clearly that,
- 25:49But it's puzzling to people because they don't pay any attention to the prophetic scriptures. They're sitting in churches where prophecy is not taught. They're sitting in places where it's like, oh, all that's already happened. And it's like, wait a minute. Come back to the truthfulness of the word of God. And your eyes will be open to all these things that David talks about week after week after week after week. You'll see that what he's saying is true if you'll get back into the scriptures.
- 26:17Mike Spaulding, you opened up a can of worms at the end of the podcast when churches are not teaching Bible prophecy. Yes, friends, I don't know what to say if you're going to a church and your pastor does not touch on these issues, especially Bible prophecy. It's between one-third and one-quarter of the Bible. Pray, respectfully approach your pastor, lovingly, respectfully, but be willing to leave.
- 26:45I'm saying that openly, flat out. Be willing to leave and find a church. You might think, well, we're in a small area, rural area. We can't find a church like that. Mike, what advice would you give? 30 seconds. Sorry to just give you such limited time. Find a good church. If you need help finding a good Bible-believing, prophecy-teaching church, email me, and I'll point one out to you that's within driving distance. I do it all the time. drmichaelspalding at gmail.com. drmichaelspalding at gmail.com. I'll help you find one.
- 27:14Praise God. Thank you. So your website, DrMikeSpaulding.com. You can also find the transforming word on Substack.com at Mike Spaulding. And brother, thank you. It goes by so fast. We'll do this again, Lord willing. God bless you, David. Thank you. God bless you, friends. And as always, keep speaking the truth about things that matter.
