- 2:46It has been an absolutely crazy, crazy couple of days and we will
- 2:51get into it on our first couple of stories.
- 2:53But I will say this, it was absolutely heated all day here
- 3:00in Long Island, New York. As a matter of fact, Brittany
- 3:02told me she was at the beach and she couldn't even lay in the
- 3:05sun. It was that hot.
- 3:07She couldn't even go. She was hanging out at the bar
- 3:09not drinking. Why would you go to a beach if
- 3:12you're not going to lay in the sand?
- 3:13That that's what I don't understand.
- 3:15I, I said that to her, I'm not going in the water and I'm not
- 3:19laying on sand because I hate the dirt.
- 3:21So you know, I'm not going to be at the beach.
- 3:23But she said that I would say 85% of the people that were
- 3:27there were hanging at the bar. So why are you going to the
- 3:31beach? I don't get it.
- 3:32I don't get it. But it was absolutely hot.
- 3:34I knew it at 7:30 AM when the sun was paling on my shoulders
- 3:40that it was going to be a hot 1. Today.
- 3:41It's it was like 9293. It felt like it was 110.
- 3:46That's how hot it was. It was disgusting.
- 3:48It's still disgusting outside. It feels like I'm in a sauna.
- 3:51If you ever been to a steam room and you wait until it really
- 3:54just just makes you sweat from head to toe, That's what it
- 3:58feels like when you walk outside.
- 3:59But anyways, I, I don't want to get into this like story and I
- 4:03was at the gym and by the way, going and doing any kind of
- 4:07cardio on the treadmills or the ellipticals.
- 4:11I, I wouldn't even do that because no matter how much the
- 4:14air conditioning is blasting, you're still going to sweat your
- 4:17butt off. So I absolutely couldn't stand
- 4:20the 30 minutes of cardio. And by the way's job, I've been
- 4:22doing this for the last, I would say 2 weeks, every single day
- 4:26I'm doing 30 minutes of cardio. So I'm proud of myself.
- 4:29And by the way, I went, I dropped from 2:25 today.
- 4:33I am 209 lbs. So I get to give myself a, a
- 4:37Golf Club. This is good for me.
- 4:39I, I'm, I'm healthy, my A1C was high.
- 4:42I'm staying away from sugar drinks.
- 4:44I'm staying away from all the different sweets.
- 4:47And I, I feel good about myself. I feel clean.
- 4:50How are you, Java? Do you feel clean?
- 4:51Are you clean in many different ways?
- 4:53Are you cleaning your pants? I got to ask you your future
- 4:56wife. I mean, I don't know, but I
- 4:58don't want to get too deep into that.
- 4:59We have analytics a little bit later in the show.
- 5:01No, we, yeah, just took a shower, feel great.
- 5:05Just looped up the beard, rolled it up.
- 5:07Got it, all good. What kind of loop do you use for
- 5:09your beard? I do, I'm literally still going
- 5:13through old beard companies that they sent me product from.
- 5:18I literally do they go bed and does.
- 5:20Does beard products? Every time I don't, I there's
- 5:22like some of them are still sealed.
- 5:24Like they sent so many of them like still even after I had my
- 5:27beard. And so yeah.
- 5:29So I'm just, I'm just going through whatever I got in there.
- 5:32So I get worried. I learned I get worried.
- 5:34Yeah. No, you got to use, you got to
- 5:36use a different shampoo and conditioner for your beard other
- 5:40and I don't have any hair, so I don't really have to worry.
- 5:42About I don't use any shampoo for my beard and that's why I
- 5:45don't grow it that much. It's it's like any more than
- 5:47Pringley. I absolutely shave it.
- 5:49I don't like the way it looks when it fall.
- 5:51You know it comes, you know, it starts to grow and it looks like
- 5:54Jesus Christ over here, Speedy. I mean, it's absolutely horrible
- 5:58when it Speedy has no Gray hair. He's 30 years old.
- 6:01I mean, he obviously doesn't stress because the guy doesn't
- 6:04have one Gray hair in his beard. If you look at his beard,
- 6:07there's not one Gray hair in his hair or his beard.
- 6:10It makes no sense. Java.
- 6:11This actually comes from genetics of my father actually
- 6:14had a little Gray spot on his head when he was a teenager.
- 6:17It doesn't make any sense. I, I, I have like Pringles in my
- 6:22beard. I don't have much in my hair and
- 6:24I'm starting to get it in my eyebrows.
- 6:26So I, I don't like that. So I'm trying to tweeze it and
- 6:29clean it off. I want to look freshly.
- 6:32I don't know if I have any in my hair.
- 6:33I have definitely have it in my beard but like if I trim my like
- 6:36sideburn and trim this up, it's it's not.
- 6:38As I'm saying, I trim it down so you really can't notice the Gray
- 6:41in my beard. And I, I kind of look sexy with
- 6:44a, you know, a short beard. I, I can't put any.
- 6:48Yes, I think I'm sexy. What's the longest you've ever
- 6:50grown it? The longest I've ever grown it
- 6:54probably speedies. Like what the way speedies looks
- 6:57right now, I grew it like that probably in my 20s.
- 7:00I was in Germany and I'll tell you guys a quick story.
- 7:02I was in Germany and for like 3-4 weeks I was like, you know
- 7:06what, I'm going absolute bum look and I grew my hair out
- 7:11calling me a bum. No, no, no, I went bum look.
- 7:14I didn't even shave. I didn't even clean it.
- 7:17I just was growing out and I, I looked like a bum, but I wore, I
- 7:22wore a backwards hat, which I don't usually do unless I'm
- 7:26playing sports. You will never see me really
- 7:28wear a backwards hat. So I, I like to wear it, you
- 7:31know, obviously front words and, and, and I like, I like that
- 7:34kind of style. But nevertheless, when I do go
- 7:37out and I, I try to, you know, show my, my sexiness to the
- 7:43women or my girlfriend because I don't want to get myself into
- 7:46trouble tonight. I like to keep it fresh and, and
- 7:50when it's fresh and it's clean and by the way, I, I shave in
- 7:56the shower, so I don't use any shaving cream or anything.
- 8:00I use hot water. I let it like breed, breed.
- 8:04I like to breathe my, my face. As everybody says, ice breed.
- 8:10Who who uses breath? That just tells you, ladies and
- 8:12gentlemen, I am. Do you have a?
- 8:13Mirror. Do you have a mirror or you just
- 8:15go raw? No, I go raw.
- 8:18I go raw. Well I know you go raw shaving,
- 8:20but do you have a mirror so you can see?
- 8:21Not really. I just know my I know my face
- 8:24and I know the lines. I follow the lines on my face
- 8:27and I cut pretty straight. So I'm actually doing it for
- 8:31such a long time. The first time I learned how to
- 8:34shave, ladies and gentlemen, I went into my father's bathroom
- 8:37and he had these BIC, you know, shavers.
- 8:40And I was like, oh, this is cool.
- 8:41I I like whiskers when I was like 16 years old and I was
- 8:45like. Was that the was that the one
- 8:47blade blade? Yeah, yeah, dude.
- 8:49I, I ripped my face so bad I, I look like I was in like a
- 8:55catfight with somebody and I never did that again.
- 8:59And I actually, usually your father teaches you how to use a
- 9:03razor. I had to learn the hard way.
- 9:05That's how I learned how to use a razor.
- 9:07So true story. The first time I absolutely use,
- 9:11the first time I actually used a razor, I was in my father's
- 9:15bathroom trying his BIC razor, the one bladed razor, which is
- 9:19absolutely, absolutely horrible. Anyways, I I want to get off
- 9:23topic. We got a lot to get into.
- 9:24At 9 O clock we'll be talking to Emmy award-winning sports
- 9:27broadcaster Dave Benz. He's been on a show before.
- 9:31He's the Timberwolves broadcaster, also San Francisco
- 9:34Giants and the 49ers and recently founded ticket company
- 9:39Ticks Skate. On Monday during our show, there
- 9:44was a shooting at the NFL headquarters building in
- 9:47Manhattan and the shooter killed four people in the lobby before
- 9:52eventually taking his own life. The shooter was identified as
- 9:58Shane Tamara, a 27 year old, a late Las Vegas casino worker,
- 10:03actually security guard to break into the NFL league offices, but
- 10:08took a wrong elevator or wrong floor in the building before
- 10:12shooting himself. Tomorrow, tomorrow.
- 10:15How do you pronounce tomorrow? Tomorrow that was shouting out
- 10:19that he had mental illness, mental illness issues because of
- 10:24CTE, wanting to send a message to the NFL league offices.
- 10:30Tamara played high school football about a decade ago but
- 10:34never played in the NFL, which he claimed he did.
- 10:37Cops also found a three page note in his wallet suggesting A
- 10:42grievance against the NFL over his CTE, and the note also
- 10:47referenced former NFL player Terry Long, who committed
- 10:51suicide in 2005 and also had CTE.
- 10:55The note mentioned that Mister Shane Tamara wanted his brain to
- 11:00be used as scientific research, and the medical examiner said a
- 11:07full brain investigation will be a part of the autopsy in the
- 11:13near future. Now I want to get into the CTE
- 11:17story because the CTE story is to me been as big of a story for
- 11:22the NFL over the last 20 years. But I want to get into this
- 11:25story because it's just absolutely horrific.
- 11:29And I know everybody or nobody's that's ever been to New York or
- 11:34has been, has had a chance to go to Times Square or got a chance
- 11:37to check out how beautiful New York City is.
- 11:40This is a place that obviously people are together, people
- 11:44support each other and so many ethnic groups you're talking
- 11:48about from all different parts of the world, genres of people
- 11:52from Haiti and obviously Israel and Germany and Australia.
- 11:58People are from all different parts of the world.
- 12:00They live over there, they raise their children over there.
- 12:05When you hear a story like this, and obviously I don't know
- 12:08anything about tomorrow and, and who he is or what type of person
- 12:12he is with his family and how good of a football player he
- 12:15was, I could care less. When you hear a story of a guy
- 12:19traveling from Las Vegas as a security guard, by the way, who
- 12:23had mental issues, mental illness issues, that's what the
- 12:26story is. And how he got an automatic gun
- 12:30makes no sense. How do you get a obviously an
- 12:33opportunity to travel across the country with a gun.
- 12:37Now you're going through tolls, tolls and and all different
- 12:42places throughout. You're going honestly 3003
- 12:46thousand miles from Vegas to New York and you think about how
- 12:52many cops, how many people he was passing all the way to New
- 12:56York and nobody, nobody discovered any honestly
- 13:02automatic weapon. It it kind of scares you.
- 13:06How would you? But how would you discover it
- 13:07though? Unless you like, pulled him.
- 13:08Over. Well, that's what I'm saying.
- 13:09But think about it this way. You have tolls.
- 13:12You're going from one state to another.
- 13:14There's so many cops you're passing through, you're
- 13:17stopping. I mean, this guy had mental
- 13:19illness issues. I don't know if you're you're
- 13:22going to see something that was obviously wrong with the guy.
- 13:25This guy double parked in front of the building and walks out
- 13:28with an automatic weapon when he hits New York City and goes to
- 13:32the NFL headquarters and he's going out there to probably try
- 13:36to kill Roger Goodell. I mean, Roger Goodell is the
- 13:39leader. He's the commissioner of the
- 13:40NFLI and, and honestly with, with what the NFL has been
- 13:44dealing with over the last couple of years, obviously the
- 13:47$100 million agreement to pay off players with the CTE and
- 13:53issues with obviously medical issues that these these players
- 13:58have gone through over the last couple of years and, and decades
- 14:01and decades of football. I, I mean, honestly, you think
- 14:05of the big picture here. You wonder how this guy traveled
- 14:08from one place to another and nobody, nobody actually reached
- 14:11out And, and, and again, he's got friends, he's got family.
- 14:15They, the fact that he just went from one state to another the
- 14:19way he did and nobody reached out and nobody knew that this
- 14:23guy was obviously going after NFL officials.
- 14:27I, I'd somebody had to know. Now, obviously they're going to
- 14:30investigate this. They're over there in Vegas
- 14:33right now talking to his family, his, his friends.
- 14:35I, I, there's got to be more to the story.
- 14:38And he obviously had somebody help them because there's no way
- 14:43when, when you think about a guy that had mental issues, get an
- 14:46automatic, automatic weapon like this and travel the way he did
- 14:50and, and get all these different things to, to travel all the way
- 14:53from from Vegas to New York, It kind of scares you.
- 14:56It really does. But to get back to the story, he
- 14:59pulls up double parks, walks into a building and kills a
- 15:02defenseless cop defenseless, a guy that had no gun.
- 15:07He was doing security over there in the building and he just shot
- 15:10him dead. And he this is a guy, this a cop
- 15:13that had two kids and his wife was 8 months pregnant and was
- 15:17going to have his third kid. This guy was 202526 years old.
- 15:22He's a kid. He's never going to get a chance
- 15:25to see his children grow up. He's never going to get a chance
- 15:28to watch his kids get married or see his grandchildren.
- 15:35It it kind of makes you sick to your stomach when you when you
- 15:38hear about stories like that. And I again, Shane, obviously
- 15:42this guy tomorrow is, is, is a nut job, but he had mental
- 15:45issues. Now, why isn't his family
- 15:49obviously talking? I haven't heard anything from
- 15:51his family over the last couple of days.
- 15:54This happened on Monday. We're going into Thursday
- 15:56tomorrow. We haven't heard anything from
- 15:58his family. You know, you have all these
- 16:00news stories, everybody trying to figure out what happened.
- 16:02Why did this start now? The CTE situation we're going to
- 16:05get into in just a second. If you think about the NFL and
- 16:10all these CTE accusations that we've heard from different
- 16:14players, guys we've had on the show, we've had a tremendous
- 16:17amount of X players come on the show and say they have a grade
- 16:201C of CTE, grade two, grade 3. There's, there's all different
- 16:24grades. And you think about the NFL and
- 16:27why the NFL has not gone out of their way to try to help these
- 16:31guys. Now, obviously the NFL has they
- 16:37have their own therapist and you can go and talk to a therapist,
- 16:40but CTE is not something that you can help.
- 16:43If you have CTE, you have brain trauma because of concussion and
- 16:47concussion issues. There's no way of fixing it.
- 16:50We were over there at the Super Bowl.
- 16:52We talked to doctors, top doctors that have worked with
- 16:56the NFL, worked with other leagues, WWE worked with so many
- 17:01different organizations about and and talked about concussions
- 17:04and how bad they are. I mean, Sidney Crosby in in a
- 17:07five year span had five concussions in the NHL and still
- 17:10playing in the NHL. If you ask Sid how many
- 17:13concussions he's had in a lifetime, it's got to be over
- 17:1515. You're going to tell me he's not
- 17:18going to have CT? Wayne Corbett?
- 17:20Has anybody looked at Wayne Corbett over the last couple of
- 17:22years, how bad he looks? This guy is what, in his mid
- 17:2750s? He looks like he's 70 years old.
- 17:32So many brain issues with some of these players and, and again,
- 17:37the NFL doesn't want to protect they're players.
- 17:40You have guys like the Bricoche Ferguson that was 2930 years
- 17:43old, missed one game in his NFL career and retired at that age.
- 17:48Calvin Johnson retired at 30 years old because of CTE issues.
- 17:52Patrick Willis is another one. One of the best linebackers.
- 17:56Could have been a Hall of Famer. Didn't play long enough.
- 17:59I don't think he gets inducted into the Hall of Fame.
- 18:01I don't think so. This guy was one of the best
- 18:03linebackers, one of the best defensive lineman in all of the
- 18:06NFL. Play for San Francisco.
- 18:10Retired. There was another San Francisco
- 18:1240. 9. One year.
- 18:13One year he was one of the best young players in the league.
- 18:17Retired after one year of playing NFL football.
- 18:21Ravens had won two. I've played two years, Zach Orr,
- 18:23and I think he's actually one of their coaches now.
- 18:25Think about that and the NFL and Roger Goodell just Russia said
- 18:30under the rug. Now anybody seen the movie
- 18:32Concussions? Will Smith plays the doctor.
- 18:34I, I don't remember his name. It's a pretty unique name, so
- 18:37maybe you guys could figure it out.
- 18:38But I the doctor was a guy that doctor Bennett Omalu, Omalu, Dr.
- 18:44Bennett Omalu, who actually went out there, put his career on the
- 18:49line, investigated CTE, actually named it CTE and went out there
- 18:56in studying next NFL players, guys that have killed themselves
- 19:02and and looked at the this situation, this disease, this
- 19:06brain disease and try to reach out to the NFL to help them
- 19:11study these brain issues. Aaron Hernandez So who some
- 19:15doctor said say that was probably the worst brain they've
- 19:19ever seen when it came to studying a brain.
- 19:23Just think about that. Aaron Hernandez everybody
- 19:25thought was vicious evil, and he probably was.
- 19:28But I've heard, I've seen the Aaron Hernandez documentaries
- 19:31that said that guy before he actually played college ball,
- 19:35was actually a nice guy, was a good man.
- 19:38Obviously his father was abusive and all that other stuff.
- 19:40And we all know the background of Aaron Hernandez.
- 19:42I'm not saying Aaron Hernandez was a good guy.
- 19:45I'm not saying that. But what we've seen over and
- 19:48over again in documentaries say that he really wasn't a bad dude
- 19:52until he started getting all this brain trauma.
- 19:56And then you look at the NFL and you, you see these stories.
- 19:59This isn't the first time. And when this is not going to be
- 20:01the last time, we're going to we're going to hear about a
- 20:04shooting of an ex player. And this guy wasn't even an ex
- 20:07NFL player even though in his in his little three page story or
- 20:13his. His information that he gave, he
- 20:16said that he played in the NFL now, he played high school ball.
- 20:18There is some truth to that. And maybe he did have CTE.
- 20:22And if they do study that he had CTE, well, maybe this story will
- 20:25grow legs, but really not really because the NFL had nothing to
- 20:30do with his head trauma problem now.
- 20:32But the NFL. We think about these stories and
- 20:35Roger Goodell, Roger Goodell has not been really thorough and
- 20:40really stood high for this situation.
- 20:43He is kind of taking a step back and try to brush it onto the rug
- 20:46and make it seem like, oh, we're going to fix it.
- 20:48We're going to we're going to fix some of the rules.
- 20:50We're going to fix the kickoffs and the punt returns.
- 20:53And they think that that's going to fix this concussion problem
- 20:56that they've had for many, many years now.
- 20:59You can't change football and everybody doesn't want to see a
- 21:01flag football game because the game is an aggressive game.
- 21:05That's what you love about the sport.
- 21:08And, and a lot of parents are keeping their kids away from
- 21:10football. As a matter of fact, if you look
- 21:12at the numbers, more kids now are playing baseball and
- 21:16basketball than they are playing football.
- 21:19And one of the main reasons why is because of CTE, because of
- 21:23the concussion protocol that they're dealing with right now.
- 21:26The NFL is not protecting these players.
- 21:30It is a big, huge problem. And again, you're going to hear
- 21:35stories like this moving forward and you're going to hear it from
- 21:37NFL players. NFL players have come out on
- 21:40this show and said that the league is not protecting their
- 21:42players. They're not looking out for
- 21:44their players. Calvin Johnson and I, another
- 21:47guy that has been a spokesman for CTE and concussion protocol
- 21:52for the NFL has Cam out and said that the NFL over the years have
- 21:56gotten better but still not moving forward the way players
- 21:59and X players want them to, to protect now the future feature
- 22:04of youth and NFL football. It is a big problem guys.
- 22:09And again, you can't change the game because you love it the way
- 22:13it is. We're young guys or a lot of
- 22:15these young guys that are watching the game, they don't
- 22:17know anything about it. Jabba was a an ex baseball
- 22:20player. He knows a little bit about
- 22:21concussions, but baseball, you're not going to get
- 22:24concussions like you're playing football or hockey where you get
- 22:26a slam to to a board that is not moving.
- 22:30That's. True, that's true too, because
- 22:32you're getting run into by guys that are running from third base
- 22:36to home and they're still. Doing foul balls straight to
- 22:39your. Mouth foul balls.
- 22:40Yep. And how about umpires getting
- 22:42concussion problems? Yeah, but it's a problem to me
- 22:46because the NFL knows and Goodell knows there should be
- 22:49more money invested into the research.
- 22:52And there are guys right now that have walked away from the
- 22:55game and they're trying to obviously get help in those
- 22:58situations. And everybody to keep saying,
- 23:00well, there is help, there is therapy.
- 23:01We've had guys, Powell, Blood Powell, who's come on the show
- 23:05and told us that he's one of those guys that are talking to
- 23:09players and trying to help players out.
- 23:11If they need help, they they're leading them to these therapists
- 23:14to help them, speak to them and try to figure out how they can
- 23:17get more help. That's not going to help the
- 23:20situation for what has happened to them over the last 10 to 20
- 23:23years. And there's there's no there's
- 23:26no way of saying it. There's no drug that can help
- 23:29you. Obviously they're studying and
- 23:31they're trying to find ways that they can help it.
- 23:33Drainage there are there I talked to a couple of doctors
- 23:36where people Plex players are trying to drain certain parts of
- 23:40their brain to loosen up some of the blood from those areas.
- 23:45I've seen that Joe Namath is another guy that's been working
- 23:49with concussion protocol and saw so also Curtis Martin investing
- 23:53money and time into trying to help concussion protocol for
- 23:57their organizations. Joe Namath has created with with
- 24:01many different ex athletes. I, I forget what it is, you, you
- 24:05go into this like, I, I don't know what it's called, but you
- 24:09go into this like. It's like a lab, I think, right?
- 24:11Yeah, but it's not a lab. It's.
- 24:12Like a bubble. It's like a bubble.
- 24:14You know when you go to a tanning salon, you go into one
- 24:16of those like beds. It's like a bed that you go into
- 24:19and you sit into the bed for hours on end and you got to do
- 24:22it numerous amount of times and it helps certain concussion
- 24:26protocol, certain concussion issues that ex players, but it's
- 24:30very expensive. So they're promoting something
- 24:33that is unaffordable for some of these players and a lot of these
- 24:37players when they walk away from the sport, they don't have
- 24:39benefits. They don't have it.
- 24:41The NFL takes it away after a certain amount of time.
- 24:43So now they're sitting there and they're saying, well, how can I
- 24:46get help? How could I should I go deep and
- 24:48dig deep into into my pockets and everybody's going to say,
- 24:51well, they've made millions and millions of dollars, what are
- 24:53they complaining about? But when you're supporting a
- 24:55family and you're taking care of 3/4 kids and your wife obviously
- 25:00is got to get a job or you got to get a job where it's going to
- 25:03help you get benefits to take care of your family, it starts
- 25:06to worry you. We've had OV Mohali on the show,
- 25:09We've talked about concussion protocol and where the NFL
- 25:12should be going in these situations.
- 25:14He believes that the NFL is not doing enough to help some of
- 25:17these ex players. I I just think that when you
- 25:19hear stories like this and Roger could tell is saying, well,
- 25:22there's a lot of great people and gracious people that have
- 25:25gone, you know, that have gone through these problems and have
- 25:28gone through it and, and have done the right thing to try to
- 25:31get help. Now you have a crazy man who's
- 25:34never played NFL football walk into an walk into an NFL
- 25:38building and shoots up people, innocent people, and he's trying
- 25:43to get to the floor of the NFL because he wants to just
- 25:46absolutely unload an automatic to kill everybody there.
- 25:51And Roger Goodell says we're going to we're going to add
- 25:53security. We're going to add more cops
- 25:55around the building. Is that going to really help the
- 25:57situation? This has been going on forever.
- 26:01Players are committing suicide because of these issues and all
- 26:06you have to do is figure out a way to help these players if
- 26:10they have CTE, concussion problems or they have any
- 26:13problems when it comes to walking away from the game.
- 26:15The NFL should have some kind of benefits to these players to
- 26:21help their issues, their any issues, their head trauma, their
- 26:24back issues. They shouldn't be saying, hey,
- 26:26after two or three years after you walk away from the sport,
- 26:29well, you're on your own. You got to go.
- 26:31Take care yourself. Go get your own insurance.
- 26:34To me, these guys have put their lives on their line, their
- 26:37families on the line to play a sport where you're putting
- 26:42yourself in harm's way to entertain millions and millions
- 26:46of people so the NFL can become trillionaires.
- 26:50Just think about it. And we talked about the money
- 26:52that the NFL is making here on every single sponsor and
- 26:56advertiser they have in the game.
- 26:59You talk about Doritos, Doritos. Doritos spent $5.5 million off
- 27:04of every single commercial that was played at the Super Bowl.
- 27:07Think about that. It was 4 times they spent over
- 27:10$22 million for four commercials for the NFL to make a buck
- 27:16during the Super Bowl. Now just think about this.
- 27:19If you took all the money one year from the Super Bowl and
- 27:23invested into helping X players get benefits for the next, I
- 27:27don't know, five to six years, don't you think it's worth it?
- 27:31Don't you think it's worth it? They're making billions and
- 27:33billions of dollars off of 80,000 people showing up to
- 27:37football games to watch a crappy football team play.
- 27:40Think about that. Think about stadiums.
- 27:43You're looking at The Jets. The Jets pack out stadium after
- 27:47stadium after stadium. And year after year you watch
- 27:50garbage football. And then you look at that, you,
- 27:53you see these stories again going back to tomorrow, what he
- 27:57did going up to the 31st floor. And I, I'll say this, I don't
- 28:02know if you know, Tommy poops over here.
- 28:04His brother is a New York City cop.
- 28:07His partner was at the building after the fact, after the
- 28:13shooting happened. She was there when they were
- 28:16wrapping up the bodies and taking the bodies to the morgue.
- 28:20Think about that. Seeing something so terrible
- 28:24like that and and seeing a guy walk through the building and
- 28:29just unload with an automatic gun, killing an innocent cop and
- 28:35going to the wrong floor. Thank God he went to the wrong
- 28:38floor. Then you hear that the the maid
- 28:39there, if she walked, if she turned right, she would have
- 28:43walked right into the gunman. And then how about the person on
- 28:48the elevator that saw him off the elevator, She survived so
- 28:53much to to be grateful about. And this guy goes out, kills
- 28:57people and it kills himself, shoots himself in the chest,
- 29:00doesn't shoot himself in the head because they want, he wants
- 29:03them to study his brain. Now, if he has CTE, maybe, and
- 29:08and maybe that's where his mental issues are coming from.
- 29:11They state that supposedly his family says he had a ton of
- 29:15mental issues. When you have CTE, you're going
- 29:18to have mental issues. Think about all these ex
- 29:20football players, ex hockey players.
- 29:23Now there are hockey players we've had on this show that have
- 29:27talked about some of the CTE problems a lot of these players
- 29:30have had. How about the goons?
- 29:32All these Goon players that have gone out there, they're picked.
- 29:36These guys were great players and they're used to go out there
- 29:39to fight, to attract the crowd and get the fans to be into the
- 29:44hockey games. We've had at least three or four
- 29:46of those guys. Yeah, on this show telling us
- 29:49that they were great hockey players and they couldn't play
- 29:51in the NHL unless they became a goon because they didn't need,
- 29:55they didn't need a superstar player.
- 29:57They had enough great players on a team.
- 29:59Either you're going to learn how to fight or you're going to go
- 30:02down in the minors and make not a penny more than you would
- 30:04expect to make if you were a professional.
- 30:07Just think about that. And that goes to the NFL and the
- 30:10way the NFL don't take care of their players.
- 30:13Rodger Goodell has said nothing, nothing about former players
- 30:17that have stood high to make this the sport turn into the
- 30:22biggest sport worldwide besides soccer.
- 30:25What is bigger than the NFL? The NFL is trying to make
- 30:28foreign teams. They they've played football
- 30:32games, professional football games in Germany, Brazil last
- 30:35year. You have them.
- 30:36You have them in London, Australia, and now you're
- 30:41talking about the NFL maybe building an English football
- 30:45team. They're growing so big and the
- 30:50NFL still can't protect the players that have stood for the
- 30:55emblem, stood for the the name, the National Football League.
- 31:00That to me is scary. And you you hear a story like
- 31:04this. It it's scary to think that the
- 31:06NFL after this situation, all you hear Roger Goodell say is
- 31:11thank God only one of our people were hurt.
- 31:15That's what he said. And we're going to add more
- 31:18security and police help moving forward.
- 31:22What about the innocent people that were outside of the
- 31:26building when this gunman could walked, double parked, pulled
- 31:30out of his car and could have shot innocent people?
- 31:33Because the NFL over the years have not gone out there to
- 31:38really help this situation. They they really haven't.
- 31:42CTE has been here forever. Who is the center that played
- 31:46for the Steelers? Mike Webster.
- 31:47Mike Webster was a guy that a lot of people talk about the CTE
- 31:52problem that he had. What did he do to himself?
- 31:55He didn't shoot himself. He electrocuted himself.
- 31:59He electrocuted himself in his car.
- 32:01He was living in his car. Mental, mental issues couldn't
- 32:05take him take care of himself. His family didn't know what was
- 32:08wrong with him. He didn't know where he was.
- 32:12But the NFL made it seem like, you know, he had mental issues.
- 32:16He had problems. Why do you think one of the
- 32:18greatest centers, if not the greatest center to ever play an
- 32:21NFL football game commits suicide?
- 32:25And, and obviously the issues that he had over the years
- 32:30before he killed himself and the NFL did nothing to help him.
- 32:34There are players over the years that have written to the NFL
- 32:39crying for help in the NFL, just kind of like brushes it to the
- 32:43side. Roger Goodell doesn't really
- 32:45protect the players that stood strong for really all the years
- 32:51that the NFL has grown. He has been a commissioner for
- 32:54the NFL for how long? What is it, 12 years now?
- 32:57O6 more than that, That's almost 20.
- 32:59Years. All right, so 20 years Roger
- 33:01Goodell has been the commissioner of the NFL.
- 33:06How much money has Roger Goodell made over the last 20 years?
- 33:10At least 50 billion more than he deserves. 50 billion.
- 33:13Think about he's making 50 million right now.
- 33:16Rodger Goodell has made over $300 million if you add the
- 33:21money that he has made over the 20 years.
- 33:23And I, I don't have the number here, but I know he just signed
- 33:26all a 50 million a year contract.
- 33:28And by the way, his family was agreed upon to have a life
- 33:33insurance policy and I'm talking about medical insurance for the
- 33:38rest of their lives. Even if he stepped down as the
- 33:41commissioner of the NFL, why can't the NFL do that for former
- 33:44players? Taking care of the, the, the,
- 33:47the broadcasting, the, the emblem.
- 33:50They're going out there and promoting and sporting the, the
- 33:53sport and, and speaking for the sport and growing the sport
- 33:57after walking away from it. Drew Brees is one of those guys
- 34:02that really stand out to me since he's walked away from the
- 34:05sport. What is the NFL done for him?
- 34:08Honestly, what is the NFL done for Drew Brees now?
- 34:11The end. I remember NBC hired him.
- 34:14Remember that NBC hired him as a broadcaster.
- 34:16How long did that last? It didn't last long because he's
- 34:20not a broadcaster. So what?
- 34:22Is it was a year, wasn't it? Yeah, it wasn't long, and Drew
- 34:24Brees now is trying to figure out what he wants to do with the
- 34:28next part of his life. And I, I don't know, but the NFL
- 34:32hasn't gone out of their way to try to help one of the greatest
- 34:35quarterbacks ever play the game and, and, and go to him and say,
- 34:38listen, we're going to fill you in.
- 34:40We're going to give you a job over there at the NFL
- 34:42headquarters. We, we, we need somebody like
- 34:45you to help build our product to, to the, to the, to the new
- 34:48age of players. Help the young quarterbacks grow
- 34:51into the superstar player you became.
- 34:54Why don't you? Why don't you think football
- 34:56does kind of like what baseball does?
- 34:59And I'm not saying it's a made-up position, but how they
- 35:03bring back some of the legends that were on that team in, in a,
- 35:06in a front office capacity. Or, you know, you look at like
- 35:09guys like Puhols and CC that go work for the Commission to get
- 35:13more, you know, cultural diversity into the game and
- 35:17spread the word. Like, I feel like there's not
- 35:18enough of that in, in football where it's like the special
- 35:21assistant is, is kind of the, the made-up term, right for, for
- 35:25baseball and, and bring those guys back to help them toward
- 35:27these young kids and, and to be a face to the organization, not
- 35:31just a front office, but to keep them involved.
- 35:34To your point, like, why didn't they, why don't they go to a guy
- 35:36like Drew Brees and be like, hey, what are you passionate
- 35:39about? Is there something that that you
- 35:40see that we could do better in this game?
- 35:42And is it, you know, getting guys ready for the next chapter
- 35:45of their life or whatever? I just don't, I don't feel like
- 35:48they do a very good job of when their players are done.
- 35:52It's just like, here you go, you're, you know, now wash your
- 35:54hands clean. But you see so many of these
- 35:56guys in baseball. I don't know how much in
- 35:59basketball you see it a little bit like Elton Brand, for
- 36:01example, is 1 and guys go back and coach and do those things.
- 36:05So I just, I, it doesn't make sense to me why you wouldn't
- 36:08want some of those names to be involved in some capacity of
- 36:11your organization. But they work there, is there?
- 36:14Some of these guys are getting involved, trying to help.
- 36:16Calvin Johnson is one of those guys.
- 36:18I mean, to pick a show, Ferguson here in Long Island, he's from
- 36:21Long Island, Freeport, Long Island.
- 36:23He does all these different the seminars out here for some of
- 36:27these young kids, teaching them how to be tough football
- 36:30players, learn how to protect themselves and and learn how to
- 36:33protect their heads when they're out there playing full contact
- 36:36football, full contact sports. There are a lot of guys out
- 36:40there trying to help their sport and help these young kids throw
- 36:43into guys and you know players well, they don't they understand
- 36:48the new technique or learn they technique to protect their heads
- 36:52over the years. The NFL didn't care about that.
- 36:54The NFL didn't care about technique.
- 36:56They just cared about how many times are you going to go out
- 36:59there? How many times are we going to
- 37:00get you to go out there? Even if you have you're throwing
- 37:03up on the sidelines or you're throwing up on the football
- 37:05field. Me, Curtis Martin told me his
- 37:07eyes were rolling in the back of his head in the huddle and he
- 37:11would go out there and, and, and play, you know, play 5-6 more
- 37:14plays before he, he's throwing up on the sidelines And, and
- 37:18then finally the coach tells him to sit.
- 37:20I mean, this has been going on for years.
- 37:23There is no protection when it comes to these players.
- 37:26And we can go on and on and on about it.
- 37:29And again, we're going to this isn't the last time we're going
- 37:31to see this. Now this kid had nothing to do
- 37:35with the NFL, the NFL. And that's what the NFL is going
- 37:38to say now. That's what they're going to
- 37:40say. Oh, this guy never played in the
- 37:42NFL. Who cares?
- 37:43He, he had nothing to do with our product.
- 37:46But if if this guy's going to the NFL headquarters and trying
- 37:49to shoot up the NFL, obviously there's something he is reading
- 37:55and what people are telling him that the NFL isn't doing to help
- 37:59former players out with their concussion protocol and
- 38:02concussion problems. Where this kid believes that the
- 38:05one thing he needs to do is go and shoot up and try to kill
- 38:08whoever he can from the NFL. And that's the message that has
- 38:11to be learned from the NFL doing this too.
- 38:14And I the NFL, I think more than any other other sport, we've
- 38:17also seen a lot of guys dying younger, whether they're current
- 38:21players like you saw with Kansas City, which Yvonne Belcher in
- 38:24season committing suicide. And we've seen it even after
- 38:27their careers too. Now, a lot of them aren't all
- 38:29CTE related, but a lot of them still have to stem from it too,
- 38:32where these other medical issues can be spawned too.
- 38:35And we had we had one on the show in Uche Winery, who was an
- 38:38offensive lineman and he was going through a lot of the
- 38:41corruption. That killed himself, by the way,
- 38:42in the. NFL He passed away about three
- 38:44months after we had him on the show.
- 38:45Now, it wasn't directly CTE related, he was a heart attack.
- 38:48But again, those things came. It was a heart attack.
- 38:50I'm sorry. It was a heart attack, yes.
- 38:51He wasn't the guy that was. Who did we interview that
- 38:54obviously, I think. That was a basketball player we
- 38:56interviewed. The passed away.
- 38:57Passed away? Caleb Swanigan yes, it was a
- 39:01star at Purdue in in college and he played a couple of years with
- 39:04the Trail Blazers and he passed away.
- 39:05Yeah, it had trauma too. Yes, he did.
- 39:07And there's a lot of those types of instances in the NFL you
- 39:10talked about with Balau Powell. Balau Powell had some CT issues
- 39:13at the end of his career too. That's why he had to retire
- 39:15younger as well. And that he's doing so much to
- 39:18get towards it. But there's only much, so much
- 39:20you could do when it comes to training if you don't have the
- 39:22money with it. And what at what point does the
- 39:24NFL have to realize that there's more players?
- 39:27It shouldn't matter the level of players that you are getting it.
- 39:29There's millions of players come through the NFL with practice
- 39:32squads, just 2-3 year guys that come through the NFL that are
- 39:37going to deal with this kind of thing.
- 39:39Just because they don't have the practices, don't because don't
- 39:41have the stats. These flashy stats are going to
- 39:44be able to do it. We've we've interviewed so many
- 39:46of them and Arrow, the list is in the e-mail above.
- 39:48The one you just read of all the guys that we've had on the show
- 39:51that have mentioned it to us, their insurance just runs out on
- 39:54it. And the most recent one was that
- 39:56we had on the show was Robert Turbin.
- 39:57Robert Turbin mentioned it. It was literally that day.
- 40:00Three days later we had him on the I'm.
- 40:02Looking for where? Is it in your e-mail?
- 40:04You want me to look in my e-mail?
- 40:05Yeah, it's right. Right above what you just read.
- 40:07Right there where? 715 the 7:15 one, so he's.
- 40:11He's been texting you to to read your e-mail.
- 40:13The whole time, well, guess what, I was in the shower.
- 40:16I've been dealing with my own crap all day.
- 40:18So there's a lot of those types of guys that are are not going
- 40:21to be the stars that are going to be dealt with that and that
- 40:24cannot happen for like you're saying, you're getting all these
- 40:26Super Bowl commercials, all these revenue, there's enough to
- 40:28spread it out where these players get it more than just.
- 40:31I remember when Robert Turbine was on the show and I mentioned
- 40:33the concussion situation, he was back and forth trying to protect
- 40:36the league. So, and, and again, a lot of
- 40:40these players are not going to go out there and throw
- 40:41themselves under the bus because they're working.
- 40:43They have podcasts and they're protecting themselves.
- 40:46They don't want to be attacked. Where the leaks going to say,
- 40:49you know what, we're not promoting your product anymore.
- 40:51We're not going to do anything for you moving forward.
- 40:54And you're supposed to support what we're doing.
- 40:56And a lot of these players don't care because they don't they
- 40:58don't work with the league anymore.
- 40:59One of them was Jarvis Green Jarvis Green has been on this
- 41:02show quite a few times. I remember he was hanging out,
- 41:06he was drinking daiquiri, he was in his cab and he was, I think
- 41:10he was going to an event and he was just getting drunk and he
- 41:13was telling us how he was. He had a grade one or a grade 2,
- 41:17which was considered CTE. And he said that he's reached
- 41:21out to the NFL and still hasn't gotten any money from that, that
- 41:24lawsuit. And that's the problem right
- 41:26now. The NFL is giving money to these
- 41:28guys, but who's getting the money and where's the money
- 41:31coming from? It's only $100 million.
- 41:34A $100 million goes fast. I mean, seriously, when you have
- 41:37guys that are making guys like, hey, we, we mentioned there's a
- 41:41guy on, on the New York Mets, Juan Soto, making 60 million a
- 41:44year, just got a $675 million contract and all the NFL can
- 41:50dish out is $100 million to help former players with their
- 41:53medical issues. That's a problem.
- 41:55And overtime too, it's not hard to like re up on that kind of
- 41:58thing. And if players are struggling
- 42:00like this, they they should be able to have be able to reach
- 42:03out to the NFL and get some kind of support with that.
- 42:06And it should be an open thing. It shouldn't just be restricted
- 42:09after a certain time frame too, because they are lingering
- 42:11effects. Like you said with Mike Webster.
- 42:13Mike Webster, it was a while after his career that it
- 42:16happened. I think it was in 2000 when he
- 42:17ended up dying. That's that's at least 15 years
- 42:20after he retires. These kinds of things can still
- 42:22happen that long and it just just depends on everyone.
- 42:25Everybody is built differently too.
- 42:27It doesn't matter if you play 2 years in the NFL or you play 15.
- 42:30It can accumulate over time too, especially with positions like a
- 42:34linebacker position. We had a lot of linebackers on
- 42:36the show. Running backs like we talked
- 42:37about with Powell, there's a lot of them on the show.
- 42:39Christian Nakoye when he was on the show was mentioning a lot of
- 42:41things with with CTE and they didn't research it as much back
- 42:45then when he was playing and he was dealing with it a lot.
- 42:47It it shouldn't matter how level of player you are and how many
- 42:50reps there are, the NFL should be able to go to these players
- 42:54and help. The NFL was trying to sue the,
- 42:58the director that or the, the, the organization that brought
- 43:03out that Will Smith movie, a concussion movie.
- 43:06They after the movie came out, they were trying to sue, they
- 43:08were trying to get rid of the the movie and completely banish
- 43:11the movie. And the NFL, remember they're,
- 43:14they're multibillion dollar organization.
- 43:16So they've got so much power. And when it comes to money, as
- 43:19we see what's going on in the world right now, you can get
- 43:21away with murder, literally murder by doing of things that
- 43:25you can do in waving your money around.
- 43:27And that's the problem right now with the NFL.
- 43:29They're so big, they're so powerful.
- 43:31And Roger Goodell has the the owner's ears and the owner's
- 43:35mouth, you know, voices and he speaks up.
- 43:38And when he speaks up, nobody can attack Roger Goodell.
- 43:42Nobody can throw Roger Goodell under the bus because if they
- 43:44do, you're going to be banished from the league.
- 43:47The NFL will banish you. And that's the problem right
- 43:50now. If you say anything to attack
- 43:53the NFL or say anything about what the NFL isn't doing to help
- 43:57former players or former people and players like Brett Favo has
- 44:01Parkinson, like Parkinson's. We have a guy right now on a
- 44:05common section right now, Sean Browning, who's saying, oh,
- 44:10Brett Favre has Parkinson while he's been hit so many times in
- 44:13the head. How many concussions has Brett
- 44:15Favre had? So I mean, and this is just
- 44:17going to keep on going and going and going.
- 44:19That's what's scary about this. And it's not just football.
- 44:22It's happening in other sports than on a full contact sports.
- 44:26The NBA, there's CT going on. You have the NHL soccer with the
- 44:31the the head trauma that they have because of the head butts
- 44:34and all the stuff and getting kicked in the head.
- 44:36I mean all these sports have CTE problem but CT up CTE problems.
- 44:40But the one sport that everybody is is talking about is the one
- 44:44sport that this guy, this idiot, this nut job went to the
- 44:49buildings, double parked, walked in with an automatic weapon,
- 44:53mentally, mentally, mental problems and shoot up a
- 44:57building, innocent people killing an innocent cop.
- 45:00It's just shameful. It's disgusting and the NFL, I'm
- 45:02not blaming the NFL for this. You can't blame the NFL this for
- 45:05this. This isn't the NFL's fault, but
- 45:08the NFL stands for something. And what Roger Goodell should be
- 45:12saying instead of saying thankful that only one person,
- 45:15one person from his organization got shot and he thank God he's
- 45:19okay and saved a lot of people and, and saying that there's
- 45:22going to be more security and more police now they're moving,
- 45:26moving forward. He should have went out there
- 45:28and said, my, my heart goes out to the families.
- 45:30Now, he hasn't done anything, hasn't spoken as far as what
- 45:33I've seen, I haven't seen anything from Roger Goodell yet.
- 45:36But that's something that the NFL should have done right away,
- 45:39within hours from this, this, this situation, this, this awful
- 45:44situation that happened in New York City.
- 45:46No, I, but let me ask you guys a question.
- 45:48And as you guys are bringing up like insurance and stuff, so
- 45:51are, are, are you saying obviously take care of these
- 45:53guys? I'm not disagreeing with that.
- 45:55Are you saying that if you spend one day in the NFL that you
- 45:59should be taken care of or or should there be a precedent?
- 46:02Because in baseball you can't get insurance until you play 3
- 46:06years and then you can get it and then five and then obviously
- 46:09full vested at 10. But we don't have, we don't, we
- 46:12don't have insurance either. Like we can keep our same
- 46:16insurance that we have, but we have to pay for it.
- 46:19Yeah, there's probably level service time that has to go into
- 46:21it, probably for what they're going to consider.
- 46:23But again, they still should have be open to just directly
- 46:27reaching out to players that are even just playing and practicing
- 46:30and stuff because these injuries can happen in practice.
- 46:32All the time, too. And here's the thing.
- 46:33Roger Goodell did speak out. He spoke out a day ago and and
- 46:38to me, Roger Goodell should have went out there right away and
- 46:40said something to speak out for the NFL.
- 46:43He says this is an unthinkable act.
- 46:45Good Goodell Rd. But we stand together in grief
- 46:49and in support of one another. That's what Roger Goodell said.
- 46:53That was that was the spiel that Roger Goodell gave after this
- 46:57terrible act and and again, the NFL, this isn't the NF LS fault.
- 47:02I'm not blaming the NFL for this this awful thing that happened
- 47:06because this guy never played in the NFLI.
- 47:08Blame the NFL because the NFL has not done enough to help this
- 47:12situation. That's what I blame the NFL
- 47:14with. So how does a kid, you know, get
- 47:18get CTE if he never played past high school is the question a
- 47:22lot of people should be are probably asking.
- 47:25And you don't realize a lot of kids and a lot of coaches, I'll
- 47:29start with the kids just don't really have good form in high
- 47:32school. It's not even that they're not
- 47:34good athletes. Some of them are good athletes.
- 47:36A lot of them aren't, but a lot of them lead with their head.
- 47:39It's just it's easy, right? Right.
- 47:42You can bring someone down because the head could be used
- 47:44as a weapon and it's just easier to tackle that way.
- 47:46When I was a kid they told you to bite the ball in football.
- 47:49You are not coaching football that way to tackle anymore.
- 47:52It changed with Pete Carroll actually with the Legion of Boom
- 47:55teams. They implemented rugby tackling
- 47:58which allows you to gang tackle without your head ever coming in
- 48:01contact. Basically you just attack.
- 48:03You used to be head across, now it's head to the near hip of
- 48:06wherever you're tackling so that you got two guys tackle, the guy
- 48:09in a gang tackle and your head's never hit.
- 48:11So it's a lot safer. Also, the guy can't knee you in
- 48:13the head. It's just better.
- 48:15And there's been a lot fewer concussions.
- 48:17I don't think that's Goodell doing anything.
- 48:19I do think that's Pete Carroll and some of the great minds of
- 48:23football actually just making the game safer because that's
- 48:25what you need to do. But what happens in high school
- 48:28very often is that you either have coaches that are not really
- 48:32concerned with maybe guys further down on their roster and
- 48:35are not coaching them up. I know this guy probably had a
- 48:38good year or two. He probably wasn't a ** guy.
- 48:42He had promised. The coach said I didn't know
- 48:44where went wrong. It sounds like a guy that
- 48:45probably fell through the cracks on a roster.
- 48:48I mean, Errol, you've told me stories, you know, that you've
- 48:50had some issues when you were in high school guys that you know,
- 48:53didn't you know, it made it hard for you to play on the roster.
- 48:57I mean, this kid, you know, he's saying he has CTE.
- 49:00It could be very possible that he was just never coached well,
- 49:03he fell through and he just decided I'm just going to work
- 49:06to get a spot and let put his head down and messed up his
- 49:09entire life. And, and again, the NFL, the NFL
- 49:13had nothing to do with what this kid, what happened to this kid
- 49:18years before him going on this madness killing spree.
- 49:21OK, the NFL had nothing to do with it, but there had to be
- 49:25something that set this guy off. There had to be something.
- 49:29And why would he go after the NFL?
- 49:31The NHL, they're another organization that has concussion
- 49:34and CTE problems. So does the NBA.
- 49:36So does every single other sport but the NFL.
- 49:39There's a lot closer places than New York from Vegas.
- 49:41Exactly. I mean, you could have gone
- 49:43anywhere but the NFL. You go to the NFL building and
- 49:47you you go and you're trying to kill off people from the NFL.
- 49:51It tells you one thing. Somebody is obviously sinking
- 49:54information into this guy He's reading on the Internet.
- 49:57You can get anything on the Internet now.
- 49:59You can find anything. To me, you can figure out there
- 50:03are ways. Now they have TV shows that
- 50:05teach you how to kill people. There are TV shows that teach
- 50:09you how to get away from killing people.
- 50:11Seriously, that's what's scary about the world.
- 50:14Now you can go, you can actually watch ATV show and it'll tell
- 50:18you exactly how you can go and murder somebody.
- 50:22And that to me, is kind of scary, this.
- 50:25Guy, there's more than one show, too, by the way.
- 50:27There's not just one. And this guy and.
- 50:29Dozens of YouTube channels. And this guy who is mentally
- 50:34mental has mental issues. Got a permit for an automatic?
- 50:38Think about that. How does a guy that has mental
- 50:41issues and was put in in his file that he has mental issues?
- 50:45How does a guy like that get an semi automatic gun and go 3000
- 50:51miles to another state and shoots up innocent and kills
- 50:55innocent people? That's scary.
- 50:57Think of concealed. Carry no less too.
- 51:00It's scary and I that's why I said he went 3000 miles and
- 51:04nobody noticed that this guy might be a little bit out there.
- 51:07I mean, his Arizona license plates and he's travelling from
- 51:11one city to another. I mean, come on, It's tense
- 51:14nature. I mean, it's, it's, it's kind of
- 51:16scary. And again, Roger Goodell, that's
- 51:19all he's going to say. Roger Goodell has to say more
- 51:22than that. He's got to come out and, and
- 51:24actually help that family. How about the, the the cop now
- 51:29obviously the mayor came out and they asked him how is he going
- 51:31to help the family that just lost their father, two kids and
- 51:35and a newborn that's not even been born yet.
- 51:38How are you going to support the family moving forward?
- 51:40And he says that the city of New York is going to do everything
- 51:43they can to help help the family.
- 51:45OK, how about the NFLA multi billion dollar organization?
- 51:49How about the other people, the innocent people that were
- 51:51murdered, the three other people that were murdered?
- 51:53Why aren't we talking about those people that were killed?
- 51:57Why aren't their families getting taken care of?
- 52:00Think about it. The NFL to me is a multi billion
- 52:04dollar organization. They got so much money they
- 52:07could swim in it. There's Scrooge Mcduck.
- 52:09That's what Rodger Goodell is. He's Scrooge Mcduck.
- 52:13Does anybody? This could have made Goodell
- 52:15look like in some people's eyes, like, OK, forget the football
- 52:18stuff. There is a there is a human
- 52:20aspect of him and like, Hey, you know what, you know what, we're
- 52:23going to get together and see what we can do for these
- 52:25families and and help in any way pot like this.
- 52:29He he could have handled it a lot different to where it made
- 52:32him look. And not to say it wouldn't be
- 52:35genuine, but it made him look good and in a good light in a in
- 52:39a crappy situation. It's a horrible situation.
- 52:42And again, the NFL again looks like the bad guys.
- 52:47Rodger Goodell looks like a bad guy.
- 52:48That's what he looks like. And no offense, if Rodger is
- 52:51listening to the show and obviously we're going to cut
- 52:53this up and people are going to say this guy is an idiot, What a
- 52:56Jackass. What does he know?
- 52:58He never played professional football.
- 52:59I've got friends that play professional football.
- 53:02I have built relationships with ex NFL players that play
- 53:06professional football. I speak to on the phone,
- 53:09sometimes weekly, OK, so don't give me this crap that I don't
- 53:13know what I'm talking about. I speak to these people, these
- 53:16athletes. I have relationships with them
- 53:19and they have told me that the, and I'm not going to mention
- 53:21names because I'm not throwing them under the bus.
- 53:24They have mentioned to me that the NFL has done them wrong.
- 53:29That's the facts, Jack. And you want to throw me under
- 53:31the bus and say that I'm an asshole and I'm an idiot?
- 53:34Maybe so I've got an asshole. I don't shove anything up it,
- 53:38but I'd love to do something. Roger Goodell, sometimes.
- 53:41I just want to, before we move on, I want to read Sean's next
- 53:44comment about a military veterans having CTE as well and
- 53:46they get ignored and downplayed too.
- 53:49And he's nerve tournament from 2 doors in Iraq too.
- 53:51We had a Nate Boyer on the show too, who was in the military
- 53:53fund in the Afghanistan war too and then played football too.
- 53:56He was saying that a lot of the drastic differences with with
- 53:59those two things and he was a part of that fish.
- 54:01You were talking about that Seattle team that Pete Carroll
- 54:03was implementing that the type of tackling technique too.
- 54:06And I believe he was mentioning it trying to avoid those
- 54:08injuries as well. But then you still have somebody
- 54:10like Cam Chandler who had to retire early too, even on that
- 54:13team doing that so. Cam Chancellor can't even walk.
- 54:16He has problems walking. He can't even walk anymore.
- 54:19Usually they cane. Has anybody seen Cam Chancellor?
- 54:21This guy was built like an I mean, anybody look at this guy's
- 54:24body. He, he, he had an unbelievable
- 54:28anybody see Terrell Owens body? And look still to this day you
- 54:31look at Terrell. Cam Chancellor was twice the
- 54:33size of Terrell Owens. He was in unbelievable shape.
- 54:38He was in crazy shape. His position doesn't even really
- 54:41even exist anymore. He was this box safety.
- 54:44They played with that one high look, you know, or mostly 1 high
- 54:47look in Seattle. No one does that anymore.
- 54:49Like the game changes so fast in the NFL and I just don't think
- 54:53you can play that way and stay healthy.
- 54:55And that's part of it. It's not like he wasn't
- 54:57tackling, right? He was just being like a missile
- 54:59out there. And a lot of guys used to play
- 55:01that. I mean, back in the day, they
- 55:02used to have a segment about hit sticking people, you know what I
- 55:05mean? Like just launching yourself.
- 55:08They used to have crack back blocks.
- 55:09I'll never forget Warren Sepp ending some lineman's career on
- 55:12the Packers after an interception, running down the
- 55:15field. You know, everyone's, you know,
- 55:17supposed to hustle. So he run down the field.
- 55:18So what does he do? He just crack back blocks him
- 55:21and ends the guy's career basically.
- 55:23And that's completely out of the game.
- 55:24That stuff's gone. Like Frank Webster when it was,
- 55:27I mean, no blood, no foul. And even when there was blood,
- 55:30that still wasn't enough for a foul back then, right?
- 55:33It's it's been very different. Even when I was a kid, if you
- 55:35saw stars, you didn't want to say you were coming out you that
- 55:39you, you wanted to keep your reps, you wanted to keep your
- 55:41spot in the lineup. And that was on a 500 team in
- 55:44Class A football in New York in high school.
- 55:48Just imagine what it's like in the real competitive places and
- 55:51that it and at the higher levels.
- 55:53It's especially when money's on the line.
- 55:55Of course they don't want to come out of the game.
- 55:57It's a horrible, it's a horrible story and obviously the NFL is
- 56:02going to have to answer some questions moving forward because
- 56:05this is not going to be the last thing we're going to hear.
- 56:08Which deadly shooting and killings?
- 56:10There was one a couple of years ago where ex NFL player went
- 56:13into a house and killed 4 innocent people and then himself
- 56:17and, and you know the story. I don't have to repeat it.
