  Yesterday, I had a bat come and visit me. And

  I wasn't really sure that it was a bat. I was

  actually doing my morning thing, watching the

  sunrise. And this flying thing kept coming back

  and forth really quickly, like it was going to

  fly into either the glass panes or find an opening

  and come into the patio. And then I smelled a
• 0:29
  familiar smell. and realize, hmm, it's a bat.

  How do I know what a bat smells like? A lot of
• 0:36
  this has to do with my supernatural, magical
• 0:39
  life, and living in an old church in New Smyrna
• 0:44
  Beach, and also what this has to do with certain
• 0:48

  and jump in. I live an extremely supernatural

  life, a very magical life. The best part about

  it is they or there are always witnesses. to

  the experiences that I have. So yesterday, which
• 2:33
  was Thursday, October 22nd, I was up in the morning
• 2:38
  having my coffee, my tobacco, watching the sunrise,
• 2:42
  communing with nature, God, ancestors, so on
• 2:45
  and so forth. And that's when I saw the bat.
• 2:49
  But prior to that, I was sitting there and I
• 2:52
  was feeling a similar energy to something that
• 2:56
  I felt. maybe about three other times in my life.
• 3:01
  Once when I was turning 30, another time right
• 3:06
  before I turned 42. And so with that being said,
• 3:11
  I was a little concerned because I'm not going
• 3:17
  to get into it too much. I'll get into it later
• 3:19
  on, but I was a little concerned because what
• 3:22
  came out of that was The previous times was one
• 3:26
  was an almost spiral. The second time was a spiral
• 3:31
  into something amazing. But on the back end of
• 3:34
  that was a lot of rage, which is different than
• 3:37
  anger. Again, not going to get into that too
• 3:41
  much. So I kind of nervously chuckled and I was
• 3:45
  like, yeah, I'm not trying to do that today.
• 3:48
  But because I have been in practice for so long.
• 3:53
  I thought to myself, just kind of sit with this.
• 3:56
  That is when the bat showed up. So as I sat and
• 4:00
  tried to figure out what I was being shown with
• 4:04
  the bat and the smell that came with it, I started
• 4:09
  to look at all the different synchronicities
• 4:10
  to put the story together, which led me to go
• 4:15
  and look for an image. Well, not necessarily
• 4:18
  an image, actually, a particular Orisha. went
• 4:24
  to search my files, a picture showed up of an
• 4:32
  insert into one of my journals. It wasn't written
• 4:36
  by me. It was written by a Baba Lau that I had
• 4:40
  gone to for a reading, not for advice, not for
• 4:47
  the person to tell me anything. It was more for
• 4:53
  confirmation of what I was feeling. and what
• 4:57
  I was going through at the moment. I remember
• 5:01
  him writing it in my journal, but I have this
• 5:05
  thing when I used to journal, I don't keep things
• 5:08
  forever, but for that particular journal entry,
• 5:12
  I took a picture of what he wrote and saved it,
• 5:15
  put it away. That was over 10 years ago. And
• 5:20
  then I think he wrote it. I went to him in 2017
• 5:23
  and And then, you know, I disposed of the journal.

  So I never really thought about it again. But
• 5:31
  I remember the reading. I remember that day.

  Again, I'll get into that details more for later

  on. This is some of the backstory. So as I sat
• 5:42
  there a little bit more, I was reminded some
• 5:44
  things as I read it. And then I was moved to
• 5:47
  send it to a friend of mine here. whom I talk
• 5:51
  about quite a bit. And he is a young man who
• 5:54
  also feels like a son to me. And I shared something
• 5:59
  with him. Now, what I shared in part of that
• 6:03
  reading was that I am a child of two particular
• 6:08
  Orishas. My friend was already aware of one,
• 6:12
  but he wasn't aware of the other. And it wasn't
• 6:15
  that I was keeping it a secret. It was just something
• 6:18
  that hadn't come up. in awareness and conversation.

  This particular friend that I'm talking about
• 6:26
  is a Baba here in Brazil. And he is, he wasn't
• 6:35
  a Baba when I met, but he was going through his
• 6:37
  initiation and into Candomblé. The Baba Lao that
• 6:42
  gave me my very first reading. And I'm not someone
• 6:46
  who goes to people for readings. Only two people.
• 6:49
  I've had an astrology reading from someone I've
• 6:51
  trusted, an American woman. And then this particular
• 6:54
  Bob Lau that is in the United States and he is
• 6:59
  in IFA. And so anyway, so I sent that off to

  my friend here in Brazil, Jefferson, and I kept
• 7:10
  it moving, went on about my business. So let
• 7:13
  me just say this. I have. Never been initiated
• 7:17
  in the sense that people talk about initiation
• 7:20
  because that has never been allowed for me. I
• 7:26
  don't do any rituals. I don't do ceremonies.

  I've never done ayahuasca. I don't smoke cannabis.

  I don't do shrooms or anything else. The most
• 7:35
  that I do is tobacco. So fast forward. I go about
• 7:43
  my day. I run my errands. Later that day, I sat

  down and I thought, where is that Baba now that
• 7:50
  did the reading for me? I didn't have his contact
• 7:53
  information, but when I found his name and Googled
• 7:56
  it, I saw that he is one of the, I guess you
• 8:03
  can say consultants, part of an interfaith church
• 8:05
  where I used to live and he still currently resides.

  And I thought, oh. That's beautiful because that's
• 8:12
  how I live my life. For those of you who are
• 8:15
  familiar with the porch and Vanguard Mystery

  School and the tap, you know that I've always
• 8:22
  said I have always invited people of all religious
• 8:26
  practices, spiritual practices, backgrounds,
• 8:29
  belief systems, because I have always said when
• 8:34
  we look past the differences, we're able to see
• 8:38
  the similarities in ourselves. our cultures,
• 8:42
  our lifestyles, our experiences, our struggles,
• 8:46
  and even many of our spiritual and religious
• 8:52
  practices. But I don't try to force anything
• 8:56
  on anyone, nor do I allow people to, or when
• 9:04
  we were still running the peer -to -peer support
• 9:06
  group, The Porch, nor do I allow people to dismiss
• 9:13
  or diminish or try to invalidate another person's
• 9:19
  belief system. So the last 10 years of my life
• 9:23
  after that reading, which I mentioned before,
• 9:26
  I went to this particular Bible out because someone
• 9:31
  that was very important in my life at the time
• 9:35
  was basically telling me that I was something
• 9:38
  that did not sit right in my spirit. Long story
• 9:42
  short, I ended up moving away, was introduced
• 9:45
  to some other things, realized that I was carrying
• 9:48
  a different energy. And one day I was sitting
• 9:52
  in my apartment and I, this is still in the United
• 9:57
  States. i'll share later on where that was so

  to find out more about that whole experience

  but anyway i was sitting in my apartment i felt

  a rage start to bubble up in me that i had felt

  once previously and i was just like yeah i'm

  not in the mood for this today At that time,

  I was very leery of working with any male practitioners,
• 10:27
  preachers, spiritualists, babas, so on and so
• 10:30
  forth. So I reached out to a friend of mine who
• 10:34
  I knew practiced a certain spirituality and asked
• 10:39
  them for a referral. They referred me to a woman,
• 10:43
  Ifa practitioner in Inyanifa. I didn't want to
• 10:49
  do anything over the phone. Like I really needed
• 10:51
  to go sit with someone. And she recommended me
• 10:55
  to this particular male practitioner, Baba Lau.

  I scheduled an appointment. I drove over to his
• 11:04
  house. His wife was there. It was at their home.
• 11:08
  And I'm not going to get into what happened that
• 11:12
  afternoon, late that evening or afternoon or
• 11:14
  whatever it was. But that's when I got my first.

  Reading from someone that practices Itha. Since
• 11:24
  then, over the last 10 years, I have spent the
• 11:28
  last 10 years studying, researching, experiencing,
• 11:33
  connecting with different people from different
• 11:37
  modalities. When I say modalities, I mean religions,
• 11:41
  spiritualities, what some people call new age
• 11:44
  practices, ancient. practices, esoteric practices.

  I'm a Sagittarian, like philosophy and all of
• 11:54
  that just comes in a natural curiosity for me.

  In the last 10 years, I have seen so many similarities

  from astrological readings that I've received,
• 12:10
  learning about human design, learning about Gene
• 12:14
  Keys. Learning about, like I said, different
• 12:17
  ancient modalities. So, for example, and this

  isn't a good example, but no. Yeah. So a lot
• 12:26
  of people here in Brazil who study African traditional
• 12:31
  religion practice Kendo or Umbanda. Right. That
• 12:35
  wasn't necessarily the main African traditional
• 12:40
  spiritual practice for most people. who do that
• 12:47
  in the United States which was typically like
• 12:49
  IFA or if you're on the east coast you know like
• 12:52
  Santeria so on and so forth right but with that
• 12:56
  there's also um me being introduced out of an
• 13:04
  experience I went through I didn't go searching
• 13:07
  for things it's funny because in all the 10 different
• 13:10
  states that I've lived in in the United States
• 13:12
  and even being here I quote unquote, randomly,
• 13:16
  but the universe, ancestors, gods, bring me into
• 13:21
  contact with deeply spiritual people. And once
• 13:27
  something happened, I've shared the story before.

  I'm not going to get into it now because I don't
• 13:32
  want to keep this too long. Something happened
• 13:34
  that caused me to ask a friend of mine about
• 13:39
  human design. Well, I didn't ask about human
• 13:43
  design. I asked something about astrology because
• 13:46
  she is someone who studies and coaches about
• 13:51
  astrology. When I shared with her what was going
• 13:54
  on with me, she says, no, that's not really astrology,
• 13:57
  but there's something called human design. At
• 13:58
  that time, she knew about it, but she hadn't
• 14:01
  studied it. So when she mentioned human design,
• 14:05
  I end up going down this rabbit hole with human
• 14:07
  design. I found someone who actually lives what
• 14:11
  they were a consultant about. He was an old white
• 14:15
  guy that lives in the UK. And because I'm always
• 14:20
  someone that likes to share knowledge, I scheduled
• 14:23
  a meeting with him to teach my tribe at the time,
• 14:27
  which were porch peers. So back to yesterday.

  Yesterday, when I found the Bible online and
• 14:36
  saw that he was a consultant. or I don't know
• 14:40
  if that's the right word, but he works with an
• 14:42
  interfaith church in the state that he's in.
• 14:44
  I was like, oh, I love that because it was so,
• 14:47
  it is so similar to what we did on the porch.
• 14:50
  The porch wasn't about faith, but it was just
• 14:53
  about, I guess you can say diversity of people
• 14:56
  and experiences. So that is it for today. Again,
