  SPEAKER_00: Abraham left that place and traveled to the Negev.

  SPEAKER_00: He settled in the city of Garar between Kadesh and Shur.

  SPEAKER_00: While in Garar, Abraham told the people that Sarah was his sister.

  SPEAKER_00: Kim Abimelech of Gorar heard this.

  SPEAKER_00: Abimelech wanted Sarah, so he sent some servants to take her.

  SPEAKER_00: But one night God spoke to Abimelech in a dream and said, You will die.

  SPEAKER_00: The woman you took is married.
• 0:43
  SPEAKER_00: But Abimelech had not slept with Sarah, so he said, Lord, I am not guilty.

  SPEAKER_00: Would you kill an innocent man?

  SPEAKER_00: Abraham himself told me this woman is my sister.

  SPEAKER_00: And she also said, This man is my brother.

  SPEAKER_00: I am innocent.

  SPEAKER_00: I did not know what I was doing.

  SPEAKER_00: Then God said to Abimelech in a dream, Yes, I know that you were innocent, and that you did not know what you were doing.

  SPEAKER_00: I did not allow you to sin against me.
• 1:21
  SPEAKER_00: I was the one who did not allow you to sleep with her, so give Abraham his wife again.

  SPEAKER_00: He is a prophet, he will pray for you and you will live.

  SPEAKER_00: But if you don't give Sarah back to him, I promise that you will die, and all your family will die with you.

  SPEAKER_00: So very early the next morning Abimelech called all of his servants and told them about the dream.

  SPEAKER_00: Then Abimelech called Abraham and said to him, Why have you done this to us?

  SPEAKER_00: What wrong did I do to you?

  SPEAKER_00: And why did you lie and say that she was your sister?

  SPEAKER_00: You brought great trouble to my kingdom.

  SPEAKER_00: You should not have done this to me.

  SPEAKER_00: What were you afraid of?

  SPEAKER_00: And why did you do this to me?

  SPEAKER_00: Then Abraham said, I thought no one in this place respected God.

  SPEAKER_00: I thought someone would kill me to get Sarah.

  SPEAKER_00: She is my wife, but she is also my sister.

  SPEAKER_00: She is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother.

  SPEAKER_00: God led me away from my father's house.

  SPEAKER_00: He led me to wander many different places.

  SPEAKER_00: When that happened I told Sarah, do something for me.

  SPEAKER_00: Wherever we go, tell people you are my sister.

  SPEAKER_00: So Abimelech gave Sarah back to Abraham.

  SPEAKER_00: Abimelech also gave Abraham some sheep, cattle and slaves, and Abimelech said, Look all around you, this is my land.

  SPEAKER_00: You may live at any place you want.

  SPEAKER_00: Abimelech said to Sarah, I gave your brother Abraham one thousand pieces of silver.

  SPEAKER_00: I did this to show that I am very sorry.

  SPEAKER_00: I want everyone to see that I did the right thing.
• 3:25
  SPEAKER_00: The Lord made all the women in Abimelech's family not able to have children.
• 3:32
  SPEAKER_00: God did this because Abimelech had taken Sarah, Abraham's wife, but Abraham prayed to God and healed Abimelech, his wife, and his servant girls.
