- 0:20OK, so the comedian Johnny Vegas has ADHD and this is kind of
- 0:23groundbreaking because he's never spoken about.
- 0:24Us before. Guys, what's going on?

- 0:51right now completely free. OK guys, Johnny Vegas.
- 0:55OK, so there's this British comedian called Johnny Vegas.
- 0:57A lot of people know who he is. He actually, he was really
- 0:59famous for being a comedian in like the mid 2000s.
- 1:02But then he also he he moved into doing like adverts or PG
- 1:05tips and stuff with this like sock monkey thing that he was
- 1:07hanging out with. It was really weird.
- 1:08They did all these kind of Facebook memes.
- 1:11There's a whole thing. Anyway, funny enough, Johnny
- 1:13Vegas actually lives right next to me.
- 1:15He lives just up the road where I am right now, and we often see
- 1:18him around and stuff like that. And it's really interesting
- 1:20because Johnny Vegas is such a big character here in the UK,
- 1:23but he actually lives in Wales, where I live now.
- 1:25He recently did an article with The Guardian newspaper here in
- 1:29the UK, and he said that he was diagnosed with ADHD in his 40s
- 1:33and it's greatly impacted his career.
- 1:35He actually stated saying that he often found it difficult to
- 1:38focus on tasks and he would often get distracted.
- 1:41And he's described how impulsive sometimes that impulsivity would
- 1:44lead him to making impulsive decisions that would later cost
- 1:47him regret, right? But he said despite his
- 1:50challenges, he is being able to make a successful career for
- 1:52himself as a comedian and an actor.
- 1:55And he puts all his credit and success to the ability to
- 1:58channel ADHD into something that he wanted to do, like being a
- 2:01comedian, being able to be hyperactive, being entertaining,
- 2:03being somebody who can stand up in front of a lot of people and
- 2:06just say stuff to make people laugh.
- 2:07Because he was so hyper focused, hyperactive.
- 2:10And it's important to note really that with proper and
- 2:15management and treatment, that ADHD can be something that you
- 2:17can use to your advantage, you know, like Johnny Vegas has, you
- 2:20know, if you, if you're struggling with it, then find
- 2:22help and support. It's just really interesting.
- 2:24And why it's interesting is because when big celebrities,
- 2:27big, you know, names in the media come out and they say,
- 2:30Hey, I'm on the autism spectrum mode.
- 2:32I have ADHD or I'm dyslexic or whatever.
- 2:34If they have any kind of disability, people in those
- 2:37marginalized communities go, hey, this guy is one of my
- 2:40heroes or this woman's one of my heroes, and yeah, they're the
- 2:43same as me. That is priceless because it
- 2:46allows us to feel connected, relative and all around just
- 2:50accepted. And that's a good thing.
- 2:52That's super, super cool. So Johnny Vegas, ADHD, did you
- 2:55see it coming? I don't know.
- 2:56Drop me a comment down below. I'd love to read it.
- 2:58All right, guys, I'll see you in the next video.
