- 0:12Speaker 1: if they use code hma i should have put some
- 0:15Speaker 1: picks up on the screen we could have taken the
- 0:16Speaker 1: more on miami's everything chris but uh you know maybe
- 0:20Speaker 1: that's just the that's the quick plug but uh Miami
- 0:23Speaker 1: comes into this game number three in the country, undefeated
- 0:25Speaker 1: Florida State reeling a little bit, three and three, one
- 0:27Speaker 1: and two in the conference. And coming out of the
- 0:29Speaker 1: bye week, Miami got some good news just from a
- 0:32Speaker 1: health perspective. And I don't know how deep we'll go
- 0:35Speaker 1: into this game. I think people watching kind of understand
- 0:37Speaker 1: what will likely happen. But Miami gets some good news
- 0:42Speaker 1: from some injuries that have been nagging since, you know,
- 0:44Speaker 1: Wake Forest, a couple more that came along in that
- 0:47Speaker 1: Clemson game, but some good news on that front.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of great things. We're getting Xavier Lucas back,
- 0:51Speaker 2: Damari Brown back. Both of those guys are cornerbacks. Key
- 0:54Speaker 2: players in our defense, key players that showed up last
- 0:58Speaker 2: year in the national championship run that we had. We're
- 1:01Speaker 2: also getting Marquis Lightfoot back. He had that injury in
- 1:04Speaker 2: the Wake Forest game. And then we're getting Ezekiel Marcelin
- 1:08Speaker 2: back to get some depth in that linebacker position. So
- 1:10Speaker 2: got a bunch of guys coming back, which is great.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Things you're kind of hoping for in that bye week
- 1:15Speaker 2: to get some rest. But we're still missing out some players,
- 1:18Speaker 2: still losing Javor Antoine, Max Buchanan, that lineman, which is
- 1:22Speaker 2: going to be a major loss on that O-line, still out.
- 1:26Speaker 2: And then Armando Blunt, the other end, on the other
- 1:29Speaker 2: side of Damon Wilson. He's kind of questionable right now.
- 1:32Speaker 2: We're still waiting. We probably won't hear more from him
- 1:34Speaker 2: until the end of the year. But yeah, good things,
- 1:36Speaker 2: good news on this Monday morning.
- 1:40Speaker 1: With, excuse me, with this matchup, the one thing I
- 1:44Speaker 1: think that could play to Florida state's benefit is the
- 1:48Speaker 1: interior of that offensive line, which I has been my
- 1:51Speaker 1: biggest concern with Miami through this year. So far, the,
- 1:55Speaker 1: the problem, the counterpoint to that very quickly is that
- 1:58Speaker 1: Florida state's offensive line or defensive line is not very good.
- 2:02Speaker 1: And so I, I think that that's like an area
- 2:06Speaker 1: concern for concern. If you're Miami, if you're playing like
- 2:10Speaker 1: Notre Dame or you're playing Ohio state or a team
- 2:12Speaker 1: with a really good front. Um, I don't know that
- 2:15Speaker 1: Florida state has the athletes to test that, but just
- 2:18Speaker 1: so maybe not in this matchup specifically in general, how
- 2:22Speaker 1: big of a concern has the interior of the offensive
- 2:24Speaker 1: line been for you? And then with an injury to it,
- 2:26Speaker 1: the shuffling around that may have to happen. What are
- 2:29Speaker 1: your thoughts just on that group?
- 2:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm a, I'm in an agreeance with you. I
- 2:33Speaker 2: think this is probably one of the biggest concerns. It
- 2:35Speaker 2: was one of the biggest concerns coming into this year's
- 2:36Speaker 2: losing four starters last year to the NFL. Um, again,
- 2:41Speaker 2: we all know, and we got really, really spoiled last
- 2:44Speaker 2: year with a unit that had been working together for
- 2:46Speaker 2: two or three years. They were all older players. So
- 2:49Speaker 2: they had those years of experience, those hundreds of snaps
- 2:52Speaker 2: under their belt this year, got a bunch of new guys,
- 2:55Speaker 2: got to get the thing gelling. And I felt like
- 2:57Speaker 2: just when we were gelling as a unit, when we
- 2:59Speaker 2: were kind of getting our rhythm going, bam, Clemson game
- 3:02Speaker 2: happens and we lose guys. So just, I'm really hoping
- 3:07Speaker 2: we can figure this out this week. I mean, This
- 3:10Speaker 2: is not a shot at Florida State, but you're right.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I would rather be figuring it out now as opposed
- 3:15Speaker 2: to like Notre Dame. But my guess is we'll probably
- 3:21Speaker 2: have to slide some players over. But the good thing
- 3:23Speaker 2: is we have a lot of young guys, whether it's
- 3:26Speaker 2: Ben Congdon, you have Jackson Cantwell. I mean, Jaden Wilkerson
- 3:30Speaker 2: and Jamal Merriweather are doing great things. We saw them
- 3:32Speaker 2: do great things against Central Michigan. I did that Central Michigan,
- 3:35Speaker 2: I understand. But I think the... The depth isn't my
- 3:39Speaker 2: concern so much more as the chemistry. And you know,
- 3:42Speaker 2: offensive line, you've got to be in sync.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and again, if you were playing an defensive line
- 3:49Speaker 1: that had a little more talent or a little bit
- 3:54Speaker 1: more just anything, right?
- 3:56Speaker 3: They were playing a little bit better.
- 3:57Speaker 1: They were not struggling the way they are to create pressure,
- 4:01Speaker 1: to stop the run. I mean, Louisville just put up
- 4:03Speaker 1: 400 yards rushing on this Florida State defense in this front.
- 4:07Speaker 3: You know, that might be a problem.
- 4:10Speaker 1: The other maybe concern I would have for Miami, and
- 4:12Speaker 1: I want to hear you kind of speak on, you
- 4:13Speaker 1: talked about getting Lucas back, which is a big deal.
- 4:15Speaker 3: That secondary is probably my concern on the other side.
- 4:18Speaker 1: And Florida State, certainly not a prolific passing offense by
- 4:21Speaker 1: any means, would have been put up 377 yards on
- 4:25Speaker 1: the road in Tuscaloosa. Now that came with three picks,
- 4:28Speaker 1: one of them at the very end of the game
- 4:29Speaker 1: when you're just trying to force something. Another one on
- 4:32Speaker 1: a tipped ball. So I'll give some credit to FSU
- 4:34Speaker 1: that maybe it wasn't quite as bad as a three
- 4:36Speaker 1: pick day, but, um, you know, a, a secondary that
- 4:40Speaker 1: I've got some questions about you to get Lucas back,
- 4:42Speaker 1: which is a big deal, but a Florida state offense
- 4:44Speaker 1: that has shown at times an ability.
- 4:46Speaker 3: To move the ball and score some points.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, at the end of the day, like,
- 4:50Speaker 2: I mean, actually Daniels say what you want. I get
- 4:53Speaker 2: you Seminole fans. You're not a fan. He is definitely
- 4:56Speaker 2: not the quarterback you guys wanted or expected to have,
- 4:59Speaker 2: but he's only down by a hundred yards compared to
- 5:02Speaker 2: Darian Mensah, who right now is considered the number one pick.
- 5:04Speaker 2: So we kind of got to give, you know, Daniels
- 5:07Speaker 2: a little bit of credit. He can throw the ball
- 5:08Speaker 2: a little bit. And that is a big concern. You know, um, we,
- 5:12Speaker 2: while our D line is absolutely crushing it right now,
- 5:15Speaker 2: number one defensive line in the country, number one defense
- 5:18Speaker 2: against the rush. Secondary is a little Swiss cheese. It's
- 5:22Speaker 2: a little hit or miss. And I think the, the
- 5:24Speaker 2: issue is, is if you get deuce out there and
- 5:28Speaker 2: God forbid it's single coverage. Again, also, this is the thing. Yes,
- 5:31Speaker 2: we're getting Xavier Lucas back, but this is something I
- 5:33Speaker 2: always remind my viewers of is while we are getting
- 5:36Speaker 2: guys back, remember, football is a team sport, right? It's
- 5:40Speaker 2: not just automatic plug and play. What's the communication been like?
- 5:43Speaker 2: You'll remember two years ago, communication was a huge issue
- 5:47Speaker 2: in the secondary, right? And so this week, again, rivalry game.
- 5:51Speaker 2: I don't put anything past FSU. Do I think we'll win? Yes,
- 5:55Speaker 2: but Ashton Daniels has been shown that he can get
- 5:57Speaker 2: the ball around. Deuce has been able to show it.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Jay Boggs has been showing up too this year for
- 6:04Speaker 2: you guys. Is he putting up lightning numbers? No, but again,
- 6:07Speaker 2: you have a number two, a decent number two that
- 6:08Speaker 2: you guys can look to. So yeah, that's one thing
- 6:11Speaker 2: I'll definitely be paying attention to in terms of the
- 6:13Speaker 2: secondary because we really, really got to have our communication
- 6:17Speaker 2: strong to lock down that secondary.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Hey guys, I'll get right back to the show.
- 6:21Speaker 1: But first do me a favor, go to CFA top 25.com
- 6:25Speaker 1: vote in our new poll. Listen, I'll give you guys
- 6:27Speaker 1: a little bit of insight. I put Georgia number one,
- 6:29Speaker 1: maybe Bama. It's more impressive than anything Miami's done so far.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I've got Miami number two in this week's poll. Go
- 6:35Speaker 1: check it out. Submit your own poll, which takes about
- 6:38Speaker 1: two minutes. The interface on this is really slick. It's
- 6:41Speaker 1: really easy to do.
- 6:42Speaker 3: CFA top 25.com. Make sure you are voting.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I want to see if enough of you Miami fans
- 6:47Speaker 1: can move Miami up over Georgia in the fan poll.
- 6:50Speaker 3: So go check it out. CFA top 25.com.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Yeah. So I've presented maybe the couple of concerns for Miami,
- 6:58Speaker 1: which again, I don't know that they're major concerns, but
- 7:00Speaker 1: if you're thinking about a game and you're thinking about
- 7:02Speaker 1: the path to, I wouldn't even say an upset, but
- 7:04Speaker 1: just this being competitive into the second half, the other
- 7:07Speaker 1: side of that exists to Florida state, not a good team,
- 7:10Speaker 1: you know, had a really good performance against Virginia. And then,
- 7:14Speaker 1: you know, outside of that, has done some good things
- 7:17Speaker 1: at times, but just not consistent, which is a big
- 7:20Speaker 1: time problem for them.
- 7:22Speaker 3: And, you know, from that side, you would hope that
- 7:24Speaker 3: that improves.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I wonder kind of if, you know, if Miami coming
- 7:32Speaker 1: out of the bi-week playing opponent, that's kind of down
- 7:35Speaker 1: right now, I don't really worry about like an intensity
- 7:38Speaker 1: factor in this because I do think the rivalry still
- 7:41Speaker 1: carries a lot. But I do think that a lot
- 7:43Speaker 1: of the national narrative is, oh, Miami is going to
- 7:45Speaker 1: blow this team out. There are three touchdown favorites for
- 7:48Speaker 1: a reason. You're thinking about the game that's going to
- 7:50Speaker 1: happen in about a month, a little less than that
- 7:53Speaker 1: in South Bend. If there's any chance that like men,
- 7:57Speaker 1: we've seen Miami in this position before a big favorite
- 8:00Speaker 1: at home by week, you know, you know, like, is
- 8:04Speaker 1: there any kind of concern of like, Hey, we do
- 8:07Speaker 1: have to kind of take this team seriously because they
- 8:09Speaker 1: do have the kind of players that can, that can
- 8:11Speaker 1: beat you. Because I'll tell you from my seat, I
- 8:14Speaker 1: don't think Florida state can win this game, but I
- 8:17Speaker 1: think the only team that can beat Miami in this
- 8:18Speaker 1: game is also Miami.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Yeah. And let me, let me, well, that's 100%. Let
- 8:23Speaker 2: me take off my fan hat. All right. And just
- 8:25Speaker 2: look at college football. What happened last week with Oklahoma, right?
- 8:28Speaker 2: You have an Oklahoma team going to the red river rivalry.
- 8:31Speaker 2: They are atrocious this year. Can't get anything done on offense. Uh,
- 8:34Speaker 2: playing technically the number one team in the country in Texas,
- 8:37Speaker 2: their biggest rival, what do they do? They win in
- 8:39Speaker 2: a walk-off field goal. I'm not saying that's going to happen.
- 8:42Speaker 2: You guys do have a great field goal kicker, though,
- 8:45Speaker 2: so that's what you're going to want coming into a
- 8:46Speaker 2: Miami game, having a good kicker. But the thing that
- 8:50Speaker 2: I am most worried about is not the beginning. I
- 8:53Speaker 2: think Miami will start off strong. We've started off strong
- 8:55Speaker 2: all season. It is what happens in that second, third quarter.
- 8:59Speaker 2: God forbid it's a whole second half. That is my
- 9:02Speaker 2: biggest issue with Miami. maybe we get up by 21,
- 9:05Speaker 2: maybe we get up by 17 points, and then we
- 9:08Speaker 2: start going to like what I call Mario ball. Again,
- 9:11Speaker 2: something I'm getting familiar with and I'm accepting, but it's
- 9:14Speaker 2: the just run through the A gap, maybe run through
- 9:16Speaker 2: the B gap, three and out, three and out. That
- 9:19Speaker 2: is my biggest concern, you know, because what we're dealing
- 9:22Speaker 2: with this season a lot is our biggest issue is
- 9:24Speaker 2: ourselves with the injury bug, right? Does Mario really want
- 9:27Speaker 2: to sacrifice bodies against a lesser opponent in FSU? And
- 9:32Speaker 2: I don't mean that in a, in a, in a,
- 9:34Speaker 2: you know, malicious or a disrespectful way, but you're acknowledging it.
- 9:38Speaker 2: The national media is acknowledging it. We all can acknowledge it,
- 9:40Speaker 2: that FSU is not on the same level as Miami.
- 9:42Speaker 2: So do we want to sacrifice more players for that
- 9:45Speaker 2: game that we're talking about in November? That is at
- 9:47Speaker 2: the end of the day, our season, you know, like
- 9:50Speaker 2: I'm not going to run from it. Our schedule is
- 9:51Speaker 2: not that strong. A lot of our opponents haven't lived
- 9:54Speaker 2: up to their end of the bargain. So we really
- 9:56Speaker 2: need to stay healthy. And you're talking about a Florida
- 9:59Speaker 2: State team. who has nothing to lose. There is absolutely
- 10:01Speaker 2: nothing that this team has to lose. So they're going
- 10:03Speaker 2: to come out hungry and ready to play. So I'm
- 10:06Speaker 2: going to disagree with you on something. Okay.
- 10:08Speaker 3: I don't worry about that at all for two reasons.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:12Speaker 1: One, Florida State starts really well. And that is like,
- 10:16Speaker 1: they're a great first quarter team. You look at Bama,
- 10:18Speaker 1: you look at Virginia.
- 10:19Speaker 2: That's true.
- 10:20Speaker 1: So I, and I don't think Miami's going to start
- 10:23Speaker 1: poorly by any means, but I think that Florida state
- 10:25Speaker 1: will start this game out. Well, it's been so reason
- 10:29Speaker 1: number one is that it's been later in games that
- 10:31Speaker 1: Florida state has kind of fallen apart. Second half against
- 10:34Speaker 1: Bama second half against, um, you know, obviously certainly Louisville, uh, SMU,
- 10:39Speaker 1: you can kind of throw in there. They didn't play
- 10:41Speaker 1: super well. Second half against the, the two, you know,
- 10:43Speaker 1: kind of bad opponents they played As well in central
- 10:46Speaker 1: Arkansas and New Mexico state.
- 10:48Speaker 3: But reason number two is last year, like Mario will not.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Let this be a six point game because of the way.
- 10:56Speaker 3: That last year went.
- 10:57Speaker 1: If, if Miami is up now, I'm not saying he
- 11:00Speaker 1: goes for 65 or risks injury with a team that's
- 11:03Speaker 1: already been banged up or anything like that. I think
- 11:05Speaker 1: there will be some, some caution used there, but Miami
- 11:09Speaker 1: will not let its foot off the gas in the
- 11:11Speaker 1: second half in this game with as many recruits are
- 11:14Speaker 1: there in this rivalry, because I think he's annoyed at
- 11:17Speaker 1: the way that last year went down. I think it was,
- 11:21Speaker 1: he doesn't like the fact that it was a six
- 11:24Speaker 1: point game. Now, anybody that watched that game knew that
- 11:26Speaker 1: it wasn't a six point game, even though that's what
- 11:29Speaker 1: the scoreboard said. But I think it'll go the exact
- 11:33Speaker 1: opposite way. I think Florida State will come out, hair
- 11:36Speaker 1: on fire, play well to start.
- 11:38Speaker 3: How effective will they be? I don't know. It's still
- 11:40Speaker 3: a pretty wide talent gap.
- 11:42Speaker 1: You were able to take advantage of a Louisville team
- 11:45Speaker 1: that you're similarly talented to and get up 14-0. I
- 11:48Speaker 1: certainly don't think Florida State goes up two scores in
- 11:50Speaker 1: this game. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they script
- 11:52Speaker 1: up an opening drive touchdown or an opening drive field goal.
- 11:54Speaker 3: They did that last year. They have done that a
- 11:57Speaker 3: lot this year. Bama, Louisville. Virginia, they, they played well early.
- 12:01Speaker 3: And so I think Florida state will start well.
- 12:04Speaker 1: I just have no, no confidence in them being able to, uh,
- 12:08Speaker 1: adjust once adjustments are made. I think, you know, Dawson Heatherman,
- 12:12Speaker 1: Mario will pretty quickly figure out what Florida state is
- 12:15Speaker 1: doing and Florida state better have scored some points before
- 12:18Speaker 1: that happens. But once Mario and company figure that out,
- 12:22Speaker 1: I have a hard time seeing Florida state being able
- 12:24Speaker 1: to adjust to the counter.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Like, you know, y'all will adjust.
- 12:28Speaker 1: And we won't be able to answer it with anything.
- 12:30Speaker 1: And we'll probably get shut out for the rest of
- 12:32Speaker 1: the game. Maybe get something fluky here or there. Obviously,
- 12:35Speaker 1: turnover is great equalizer. You know, if Florida State could
- 12:38Speaker 1: find a way to run the ball, which I have
- 12:39Speaker 1: no confidence in at all, that's what they wanted to do.
- 12:41Speaker 1: But I have a tough time seeing them be able
- 12:43Speaker 1: to do that. You could certainly have this thing be
- 12:45Speaker 1: a little closer. But I worry about, you know, the
- 12:49Speaker 1: longer this game goes, Florida State being able to continue
- 12:52Speaker 1: to match the execution of Miami.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I think also when you look at this game,
- 12:58Speaker 2: you also want to look at the quit factor, right?
- 13:00Speaker 2: Because you could literally see, I could see this game
- 13:02Speaker 2: easily being tied up by half. Like, that is something
- 13:05Speaker 2: that I could almost guarantee, well, probably most likely, because
- 13:09Speaker 2: like you said, FSU has been coming out strong. But
- 13:11Speaker 2: it's a matter of, like, because if you look at
- 13:13Speaker 2: last year, right, you guys went down by, I think
- 13:15Speaker 2: it was almost three scores, like two touchdowns and a
- 13:17Speaker 2: field goal at one point. And then you guys started
- 13:19Speaker 2: steamrolling back. And it was one of the few games
- 13:21Speaker 2: you guys had last year, and even this year, to
- 13:23Speaker 2: a certain extent, where you guys refused quit. Does that
- 13:26Speaker 2: come back in this game? Do you know what I mean?
- 13:29Speaker 2: Because this is a rivalry game last year. You guys literally, you, you,
- 13:33Speaker 2: like you just said, we both know that could a game,
- 13:35Speaker 2: but the game could have been easily three full scores. Right.
- 13:38Speaker 2: But it didn't. Why is that? You know? And would
- 13:41Speaker 2: you say this year is a better team than last year?
- 13:45Speaker 3: I think it's a good question. I think it's a,
- 13:48Speaker 3: I don't think the offense is as good.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Okay.
- 13:51Speaker 3: And the defense is, yeah, it's pretty similar. I'd say, right.
- 13:55Speaker 1: I think, I think it's, it's, it is similar in
- 13:58Speaker 1: that way, but I would say Miami is a better
- 13:59Speaker 1: team this year than last year.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Yeah. I just always get worried though. Again, you know, this,
- 14:04Speaker 2: everyone who covers the ACC and Miami knows this, listen,
- 14:07Speaker 2: we give up games. We should win. Yeah. And just,
- 14:10Speaker 2: there's just something about this game. Again, not to say
- 14:13Speaker 2: that we're going to lose, but I am not extra
- 14:15Speaker 2: comfortable as much as I was even last week going
- 14:18Speaker 2: into Clemson or even wake forest again, rivalry game. And
- 14:22Speaker 2: then especially seeing what happened to Texas and Oklahoma last week,
- 14:26Speaker 2: it's just, okay, hey, what could happen? And again, this
- 14:29Speaker 2: FSU team did not give up last season.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think they've done a good job of
- 14:35Speaker 1: not giving up. The problem I think they're going to
- 14:37Speaker 1: run into is the talent. And I don't think they'll quit.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Per se.
- 14:43Speaker 1: I just think they're not talented enough, and the coaches
- 14:47Speaker 1: are not very good. We know Mike's not a good coach.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I don't think Tony White's a good coach. Not Tony White.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I think they'll fight hard. Like there was a play
- 14:54Speaker 1: where chroma was, it was a third down and he, um,
- 15:01Speaker 1: we were down by 21 and he was dragging a
- 15:04Speaker 1: linebacker to try and get close to the first down marker.
- 15:08Speaker 3: And the game was over.
- 15:09Speaker 1: It was a fourth quarter down 21. And so like,
- 15:11Speaker 1: I think that effort still will be there. I just
- 15:13Speaker 1: don't know that we can adjust. I think once Miami
- 15:16Speaker 1: kind of punches back, we won't be able to figure
- 15:18Speaker 1: out how to stop their offense. It was so crazy
- 15:21Speaker 1: how it happened at the same time, too. Florida State's
- 15:23Speaker 1: up 14-0 going in for another score. That score doesn't happen.
- 15:26Speaker 1: And from there, Louisville could not be stopped, and Florida
- 15:30Speaker 1: State couldn't stop from being stopped. Both the offense and
- 15:33Speaker 1: the defense were figured out like that by Louisville. If
- 15:36Speaker 1: you're in this game from the FSU perspective, you're hoping
- 15:39Speaker 1: that those things don't happen at the same time to
- 15:42Speaker 1: maybe stave off a little bit of that. But once
- 15:45Speaker 1: the offense gets figured out, once the defense gets figured out,
- 15:47Speaker 1: it's a very undersized defensive line. I have a hard
- 15:50Speaker 1: time seeing them be able to go blow for blow.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Whenever that happens.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Midway through the first quarter, start of the second half,
- 15:58Speaker 1: opening kickoff, whenever that is, I think Florida State's going
- 16:01Speaker 1: to struggle to get back into it.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Do you think that last week's game against Louisville was
- 16:05Speaker 2: more of a result of maybe looking ahead? Or do
- 16:08Speaker 2: you think there was a– because it's so strange to
- 16:10Speaker 2: me that you guys had such a dominant showing against
- 16:13Speaker 2: Virginia and that you had like Ashton Daniels and Croma
- 16:16Speaker 2: have really good showings against Virginia. But then you go
- 16:19Speaker 2: and you play a Louisville team that is just as
- 16:22Speaker 2: susceptible in my opinion. Like I would not say Louisville
- 16:25Speaker 2: and Virginia are like tears apart. They're like light years apart.
- 16:28Speaker 2: You know what I mean? They're closer than they are apart.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Do you think that the Louisville game may have been
- 16:32Speaker 2: just like they kind of were like, hey, we're looking
- 16:34Speaker 2: to Miami and it is what it is?
- 16:37Speaker 3: Not really because they started really well.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. There were moments where it
- 16:42Speaker 2: felt like you guys could have came back and a
- 16:44Speaker 2: lot of the scores that Louisville had were explosive plays.
- 16:48Speaker 2: They were grinding you down.
- 16:50Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 16:51Speaker 2: And that I feel like is just like, oh, we
- 16:54Speaker 2: missed an assignment and their secondary is a little rough. Um,
- 16:58Speaker 2: and that's how they got these scores. And then once
- 16:59Speaker 2: you go up two or three scores, it's kind of like,
- 17:01Speaker 2: all right, now we're pressing more.
- 17:02Speaker 1: We had dropped passes, you know, like we, it was,
- 17:05Speaker 1: it was just, you know, we pooch punted to Isaac Brown,
- 17:08Speaker 1: our pooch kicks to Isaac Brown on a kickoff and
- 17:10Speaker 1: let him run for 70 yards. Again, I just think they,
- 17:13Speaker 1: when something bad happens, I think their mental composure is low.
- 17:17Speaker 1: And they just kind of turtle. They just kind of
- 17:18Speaker 1: like go into a shell and they're afraid.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Of like, oh, well, we got to, you know. And so, yeah,
- 17:23Speaker 3: I think that has more to do with it.
- 17:25Speaker 1: I don't think it was like a look ahead spot
- 17:27Speaker 1: because they came out and played well. And I thought
- 17:29Speaker 1: they were in good position at times. I think that
- 17:32Speaker 1: their defensive line is a little undersized. So they have
- 17:34Speaker 1: to be a little tricky with pressures and the way
- 17:37Speaker 1: that they bring things. And over time, a better Louisville
- 17:41Speaker 1: offensive line was able to wear them down. And that
- 17:43Speaker 1: sprung Isaac Brown. I worry about that same thing for Miami,
- 17:47Speaker 1: a better offensive line is going to get home a
- 17:49Speaker 1: little bit or get, get to the point of attack
- 17:51Speaker 1: a little bit more than this defensive line.
- 17:52Speaker 3: We'll be able to stop them.
- 17:54Speaker 1: And then on the other side too, I don't know
- 17:56Speaker 1: that we'll really have an effective way to block that
- 17:58Speaker 1: Miami front, especially with light foot coming back, you know,
- 18:02Speaker 1: a blunt being out is a help, but you still
- 18:04Speaker 1: got Damon Wilson. You still got Moten. You still got
- 18:06Speaker 1: like a ton of just game records up there up front.
- 18:09Speaker 1: And this offensive line has not been good. And Daniels
- 18:12Speaker 1: does a fairly good job of getting out of pressure. Um,
- 18:15Speaker 1: I think they'll use his legs some, I think they'll
- 18:17Speaker 1: move the pocket some to, to try and avoid that.
- 18:20Speaker 1: But that may work for a quarter, quarter and a half,
- 18:23Speaker 1: two quarters. I can't see that working for the entirety
- 18:26Speaker 1: of the game.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Yeah. I, it's one of those things, man, where you, it's,
- 18:30Speaker 2: there's moments of brilliance and then there's moments of like
- 18:32Speaker 2: incompetence and you're just like, how, why are we doing this?
- 18:35Speaker 1: How are we?
- 18:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:36Speaker 3: How is it this bad?
- 18:37Speaker 1: Exactly. And how can the peaks and valleys be so
- 18:40Speaker 1: high and low? So, um, All right, let's wrap up
- 18:44Speaker 1: with this. What do you have coming this week? Where
- 18:46Speaker 1: can people follow you? Where can they find your show?
- 18:48Speaker 1: All those things.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Well, pick six podcasts on YouTube and Instagram. We've got
- 18:53Speaker 2: our top 25. I put out a top 25 every
- 18:56Speaker 2: week after the AP does. That'll be going up today.
- 18:58Speaker 2: We'll have our game preview with you on our show.
- 19:01Speaker 2: So thank you for having me on this show. And
- 19:03Speaker 2: then we will have a preview for all of the
- 19:04Speaker 2: game seven games at the end of the week.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Appreciate you, man. Give me a give me a score
- 19:10Speaker 3: in this one. Oh man. All right.
- 19:13Speaker 2: I'm not, I want to try and be a little respectful.
- 19:15Speaker 3: No, you don't. Yeah. So I did.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Okay.
- 19:18Speaker 3: I can tell you this. I know we said we
- 19:19Speaker 3: were wrapping up. You're, you're, you're, you're trapped.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Um, cause I'm still, I'm going for those movie magic
- 19:24Speaker 1: at home. I'm going on his show, uh, after this.
- 19:27Speaker 1: So he's trapped until, you know, we can, we can,
- 19:29Speaker 1: we can keep this as long as we want. Cause
- 19:31Speaker 1: I'll just, you know, I won't show up until we
- 19:32Speaker 1: finish the, uh, I'm watching the, I'm watching the watch
- 19:36Speaker 1: along on, uh, on, on Friday night, we, right. We
- 19:39Speaker 1: played Louisville and, uh, people are, there are some, most
- 19:42Speaker 1: Miami fans, you know, kind of like me.
- 19:43Speaker 3: So that's fine. It works out great.
- 19:45Speaker 1: But, uh, some of them were trying to troll and
- 19:47Speaker 1: I was just like, guys, you cannot troll me. I, I,
- 19:50Speaker 1: I promise as much as you hate Florida state, I
- 19:52Speaker 1: hate them more right now.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Like there is no doubt that I still think I
- 19:55Speaker 3: can be to lose, right?
- 19:56Speaker 2: Yeah, of course. Yeah.
- 19:57Speaker 3: And I was like, you're doing the Lord's work. Um, I,
- 20:00Speaker 3: I was, I was like, man, I, I, you do
- 20:03Speaker 3: not hate Florida state more than I do at this moment.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Right. And I still think I can be pretty objective,
- 20:07Speaker 1: pretty unbiased talk about paths to win.
- 20:09Speaker 3: What concerns me about both teams, but I was like,
- 20:11Speaker 3: you cannot troll me.
- 20:12Speaker 1: So anyway, all that said, you don't have to be respectful. I, I,
- 20:15Speaker 1: if you asked me what I wanted in this game, I.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Would prefer a Miami blowout. more than probably anything else.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Now, you know, when kickoff happens and I'm down there
- 20:26Speaker 1: and I've had a few drinks, yeah, I will probably
- 20:28Speaker 1: be wanting to see FSU do well. But objectively, if
- 20:32Speaker 1: I'm looking at this holistically, yeah, I need Miami to
- 20:34Speaker 1: win this game by 50 points. Like I need not
- 20:37Speaker 1: a fourth and 14, a blowout, a Clemson 2019-ish.
- 20:43Speaker 3: I need that. So please give it to me. But anyway, yeah.
- 20:46Speaker 3: So don't be respectful. I think it'll probably.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Listen, again, the offense is not terrible. So I think
- 20:52Speaker 2: you'll at least put up 10 points, minimum 10 points.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Maybe 13 is what I'm thinking. But I think Miami
- 20:58Speaker 2: will probably put up anywhere between 45 and 48. So
- 21:00Speaker 2: give me 45, 48 to 13.
- 21:02Speaker 3: 48, 13.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Fun one down in South Florida again.
- 21:07Speaker 2: It'll be a good one. It'll be a good one.
