- 0:00SPEAKER_02: Today we're gonna be talking about why you plateaued at golf, why you just can't seem to get better.
- 0:05SPEAKER_02: And no matter what you do, that score just won't drop.
- 0:10SPEAKER_02: We're gonna be going over why it's this guy, and we're gonna give you some tips that you can take.
- 0:15SPEAKER_02: So be sure to stay to the end of this because these tips are gonna help us get out of these plateaus and finally start playing better golf.
- 0:22SPEAKER_02: Welcome back, golf psychos, to the golf psycho podcast for Golf Plays Psycho or your Psycho for Golf.
- 0:26SPEAKER_02: I'm Carlos Benavides, mental game coach out of Austin, Texas.
- 0:29SPEAKER_02: Joining me tonight is my lovely wife, Lori.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: Hey there.
- 0:33SPEAKER_02: So we're gonna be chatting today about why you can't seem to get better, why you've plateaued, and why it's this guy.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: So, in a nutshell, what we want to talk about today is this idea of effort being skilled or unskilled.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: Every single golfer is putting effort towards their game.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: They're putting passion towards their game, they're putting time towards their game.
- 0:54SPEAKER_02: But everybody's effort is not as equally skilled.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: There's levels to skill.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: And though we're putting in time and passion, our routines around our practice is what's holding us back from playing better golf.
- 1:11SPEAKER_02: We have a saying here, and it's show me a golfer who has not gotten better, and I'll show you a golfer who has not changed their practice routines or their minds in quite some time.
- 1:22SPEAKER_02: So, Lori, lead us through the idea of skilled and unskilled effort.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: So as it pertains to practicing in golf, they both have efforts.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: That means we're putting time, right?
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: That's the effort.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: We're we're practicing.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Those are both the same.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Now, the unskilled effort will look like I want to have an example from you here in a little bit, but that we're not really focused or intentional to actually improve our golf game and that we're not intentional with how we are practicing, while skilled effort will be very intentional, right?
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: For example, perhaps you go and play golf, you look at your round, you analyze it.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Where did I lose shots?
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: And maybe it's some mental game issues, maybe it's because it's something that we're actually doing, maybe it's off the T, maybe it's your putting.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: You take that information, okay.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: Now intentionally I'm going to make sure that I am practicing those areas.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: I think this is a very, very under or not talked-about area of the mental game or that people consider.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: And at the end of the day, these practices are also habits.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: And your golf game is a habit, but your practice is also a habit as well today.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: So I'm really excited to chat about this further and how we can improve in this area.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:35SPEAKER_02: And if you if you haven't changed your practice routine in some time, and this is already resonating with you, like, oh, that's me.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: I'm just kind of, you know, I go out there and I have a little bit of a plan, you know, but it hasn't really changed much.
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: And and and nothing has, I haven't seen any rewards of it.
- 2:49SPEAKER_02: I haven't seen my score drop.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: And I and I am still doing the same old, same old.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: Now, I've been very open and very vocal about my game and my struggles and what actually led me to become a mental coach today.
- 3:00SPEAKER_02: And I I suffered from all sorts of mental game issues.
- 3:03SPEAKER_02: And it wasn't just emotional outburst.
- 3:04SPEAKER_02: The mental game is so much more than just emotional outbursts or, you know, losing your cool on the course.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: It's how you approach the whole game, how you approach your practices or how you don't approach your practices, right?
- 3:16SPEAKER_02: So, what I began to notice is that I hadn't changed my practice in any shape, way, or form in quite some time.
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: When I was 38 a few years ago, I broke an old record that I set when I was 17 years old.
- 3:29SPEAKER_02: And I broke this record when I was 38.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: So nearly over 20, you know, 21 years later.
- 3:35SPEAKER_02: So it was a really, really, really big deal to actually start playing better golf once Lori and I started working on it.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: And we started looking and at my game through a bunch of scorecards that we had obtained into over a bunch of play and began to analyze where I was losing shots.
- 3:52SPEAKER_02: We got very, very intentional and I had to have a hard look at my practice and go, I have not done anything different in 20 years.
- 4:00SPEAKER_02: I go to the range, I bang out balls, I do the same old thing, the same old thing, and it's not getting me anywhere.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: So with Lori's help, we we essentially broke habits that I hadn't changed in 20 years.
- 4:13SPEAKER_02: And that was really, really tough.
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: And the reason I was able to do it is because in order for habits to flourish, they need three things.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: They need programming, they need accountability, and they need support.
- 4:25SPEAKER_02: And the programming is the just right challenge.
- 4:28SPEAKER_02: The support is someone there to, you know, guide you through everything and, you know, make sure that when you feel down, they pick you up.
- 4:33SPEAKER_02: And the accountability is the kick in the ass when you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing, right?
- 4:37SPEAKER_02: So I had everything that I needed as we took on my game.
- 4:42SPEAKER_02: And within a year, I finally broke that record after getting more skillful with our with our practices.
- 4:50SPEAKER_02: I started seeing, you know, a coach for lessons.
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: I started working on my focus and meditation, and things changed within a year.
- 4:58SPEAKER_02: And it was incredibly validating.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: Here's that moment right now.
- 5:04SPEAKER_02: Hey, brother.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: Just got done playing Wolf Dancer, shot 74.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: I had a little bit of an emotional putt on my on my last um, I tipped my uh approach to about a couple of inches and and finished for 74.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: One over on each.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: 37, 37.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: So uh feeling pretty good about it, man.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: So love you.
- 5:27SPEAKER_02: So it meant a lot to us, very emotional, just to go from, you know, a 76 that I had shot when I was 17.
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: I was this one of these golfers that had the potential to shoot par, and I would often be at par and then go like 999 on the last few holes.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: You know, it was just always this mental case.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: And I think that was one of the most frustrating things about my game is understanding the potential that was there and never being able to touch it.
- 5:49SPEAKER_02: So shooting a 74 at Wolf Dancer from 7,200 yards, you know, back on the from the tips was a big deal.
- 5:57SPEAKER_02: It was very, very self-inspiring that we were, we were on the right track.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: The things that we had changed and the things that we were doing were working.
- 6:06SPEAKER_02: And then a few years into, you know, more we'd go on to shoot 73, 72, and 71.
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: And we, okay, you know, this new approach, this doing things different and having you hold me accountable and creating programming and having someone there to support me was everything my game needed in order to finally move on and progress after 20 years.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: It's it's still amazing.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: I know we did it, but it's so cool.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: I'm so proud of it.
- 6:33SPEAKER_02: It is.
- 6:33SPEAKER_02: I'm incredibly proud of it.
- 6:34SPEAKER_02: It's why we do what we do today and we don't gatekeep this information or why we say, hey, we we we we need to help other golfers do the same thing.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: And like I said, it's the reason why we do what we do today and why we are very, very passionate about doing it, because if we can make a neurological change to the pathways that existed in my brain that it had been there and had been ingrained for 20 years and probably even longer because I was I was playing the way I played as a kid.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: And I started playing when I was nine, you know.
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: So I essentially got better till I was around a teenager and then just plateaued and never, never got better, you know.
- 7:14SPEAKER_02: So yeah, as I said, we don't get keep this information and we want to let other golfers know that they can do the exact same thing, right?
- 7:20SPEAKER_02: So if you're ready to do something different and these things are resonating with you, maybe you consider working with us, golfpsycho.com.
- 7:25SPEAKER_02: The link is down below.
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: When you come in to work with us, you're gonna go through an eval, we're gonna learn about your game, we're gonna listen to you, we're gonna find out what your pain problems are.
- 7:34SPEAKER_02: You're gonna leave with curated goals, you're gonna leave with support, and you're gonna leave with accountability.
- 7:38SPEAKER_02: So you're gonna come in, we're gonna learn about your game, and we're gonna send you off with goals.
- 7:42SPEAKER_02: And once those goals are written, we're gonna sit down and we're gonna talk about them again so that you really, really understand them.
- 7:48SPEAKER_02: And we wouldn't be very good coaches if we didn't acknowledge the way habits work, right?
- 7:53SPEAKER_02: We're not just gonna send you off with this information and hope and pray that you get it done, right?
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: So if you're serious and actually want to get it done, just know that in 60 days or 30 days, we're gonna check in again.
- 8:03SPEAKER_02: That initial package with working with us covers these sessions so that even after you've received your goals and we've talked about your goals, you're gonna have a check-in to see how things are going.
- 8:14SPEAKER_02: Are you actually getting things done?
- 8:16SPEAKER_02: As I said, sometimes the kick in the booty to see if you're actually getting things done.
- 8:22SPEAKER_02: And that is how true habits or habits actually flourish.
- 8:26SPEAKER_02: So yeah, getting intentional with our game was a real move in changed everything.
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: It changed everything.
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: It changed everything.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: And to uh just piggyback on what Carlos said, with our mental game assessment, like we go through it with a fine-tooth comb, all of your game, and then areas outside of the actual golf game that do affect things as well and your habits.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: And from there, not just the goals, but we're giving you strategies that are curated for you in your life and your lifestyle, because everyone is different in a different place.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: All the, as we've said, all of the strategies that we give here, I know it can be a lot that we're giving, but we are not gatekeeping and just giving it to you.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: But if you do come in for an individual assessment, it will be individualized for you.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: With that said, though, if for whatever reason you're not able to come and work with us or another mental game coach, or if you need to go see a swing coach, you're not able to do that.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: Here's where we can start, and we can give you some really cool tips that you can take today or tomorrow probably to start off with them.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: So, number one, you have to notice.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: So if you've noticed and you're like, oh, I could be more intentional or skillful with my practice.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: That could be better.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: That could be better.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: That's good.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: That's number one.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: That's step one.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: And number two, then, is going to be your why.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: Why do you want to get better or play better golf?
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: Now that's going to be very, very important because we may have mentioned it before, but your motivation will waver.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: I know we've given the example of New Year's resolutions.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: It's January, the gym is full.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: That's usually a big one.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: I want to exercise more.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: And then everyone's at the gym, it's full.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: But by February, it's kind of fizzled out.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: Because it probably took on too much, right?
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: The programming was too much.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: It wasn't the just right challenge for them.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: And then they didn't have the accountability.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: They probably just went on their own to go use a treadmill and that's about it.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: And then we're gone.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: So, and the why, why is this so important is really, really, really big to make sure on those days that it feels hard because your motivation will waver.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: That's normal, that's human.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: You're gonna have to come back to that.
- 10:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:29SPEAKER_02: And I would say that with your why, dig deep in that why and don't just answer the question one time.
- 10:36SPEAKER_02: Answer the question a good 10 times, a good 15 times.
- 10:39SPEAKER_02: I know for me personally, it was I want to play better golf.
- 10:43SPEAKER_02: Why?
- 10:44SPEAKER_02: Well, because I haven't done so in quite some time.
- 10:46SPEAKER_02: Why?
- 10:47SPEAKER_02: Well, and then by the time you know it, you end up in this place like, oh my gosh, this is this has more to do with me as a person.
- 10:55SPEAKER_02: This has more to do with a spiritual experience.
- 10:58SPEAKER_02: For whatever reason, you'll just find that there's a deeper reason other than just I want to play good golf.
- 11:04SPEAKER_02: You know, most for most people, for most humans, you're gonna dive in a little deep and keep asking why until you hit something that kind of hits here.
- 11:14SPEAKER_02: Because that why, as Lori says, needs to be very rooted, it needs to be very meaningful.
- 11:20SPEAKER_02: If we're gonna be doing anything at all again, going back and speaking towards skillful effort, then we better know, or our foundation better have a really, really good reason.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: And for those of you that are listening, when Carl said it needs to hit here, he meant like his heart, his his groundedness, right, in who he is.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: So to review again, number one, you gotta notice that we have to improve, that we get to.
- 11:45SPEAKER_02: We get to and admit, you know, okay, uh, could be something a little different.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: Our skillful practice, make it more intentional.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: Number two is your big why.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: Why do we want to do this?
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: This is gonna help you on those days that it feels tough.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: Number three, start small.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: This is gonna be your programming that you're gonna choose individually.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: Now we say start small because again, you're going on this solo.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: So we need to make it as easy and as doable as possible, doable as as best we can.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: Attainable.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: Attainable.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: Because if it becomes too challenging, it's gonna be a lot easier to not continue, right?
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: So, what I mean by that by keep it simple is let's say, for example, okay, I need to work on my putting, I need to work on my wedges, I also need to work off the T.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: That's a lot, right?
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: If we're trying to get intentional.
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: So I would suggest just pick one thing for now.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: Keep it simple.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: This is gonna ensure that it feels easy to your brain and that we can make this now into a habit.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: So versus picking five different things out of your game, just stick with one for now.
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: For example, I'm going to master the 50-yard shot.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna really, really dial that in.
- 12:54SPEAKER_02: That's the one change I'm gonna start making.
- 12:57SPEAKER_02: And again, as Lori said, we don't want to take on too much too quickly.
- 13:00SPEAKER_02: Very similar to that.
- 13:01SPEAKER_02: As we mentioned, that the January folks that start working out new years resolution folks, and they go from zero times working out to seven days a week.
- 13:11SPEAKER_02: And the baseline was zero, and now they're at seven, and it's just too big of a jump.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: That's one easy way for the brain to reject a new habit.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: That's one of the biggest reasons why habits fall off.
- 13:22SPEAKER_02: So if we're talking about working out and using it as an analogy, we would say, well, in order to get the working out habit launched and solidified as a lifestyle habit, something that you're not just gonna use for six months or a year and we want this to be five, 10, 15, 20 years of lasting, like a habit like brushing your teeth or taking a shower, these things that just are built in.
- 13:44SPEAKER_02: If we want to create those habits, then it's more important to just get the brain to deem this activity safe, right?
- 13:50SPEAKER_02: So what we often tell folks is well, can you work out once a week for a year?
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: Can you weightlift once a week for a year?
- 13:58SPEAKER_02: And for a lot of folks, they'd be like, Oh, that sounds ridiculous, or that's not enough.
- 14:02SPEAKER_02: And our response to that would be like, Well, that's 52 more workouts that than you did last year.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 14:08SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: From zero.
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: And you're gonna be surprised how difficult going from zero to one time a week and maintaining that for a year can be.
- 14:17SPEAKER_02: So in golf, again, start slow.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: Take on one thing at a time, especially if you're doing this alone.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: Correct.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: This is if you're doing it alone.
- 14:25SPEAKER_02: This is if you're doing this alone, right?
- 14:27SPEAKER_02: Start very, very slow.
- 14:28SPEAKER_02: We call it Trojan Trojan horsing the brain.
- 14:31SPEAKER_02: And that is taking on a very, very small change that doesn't set off all of the alarms in our brain, once again, because our brain just doesn't like change, right?
- 14:40SPEAKER_02: Think caveman times, think sleeping in a new cave, that's scary.
- 14:44SPEAKER_02: Be careful with that.
- 14:44SPEAKER_02: Picking up a new rock, there may be a snake under there.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: That's scary.
- 14:48SPEAKER_02: The things that it, you know, don't eat new berries, they may be poison.
- 14:51SPEAKER_02: Don't eat that mushroom, that might be poison, right?
- 14:54SPEAKER_02: So being weary of new things was very advantageous to our survival.
- 14:58SPEAKER_02: And today that hasn't phased out and it doesn't know the difference between things that are just new habits and things that involve survival.
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: So again, if you're working alone, go slow.
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: Start with something very, very, very small.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: And just to piggyback on what Carlos said, right now, what we're saying might be giving those alarms off too of like, I need to change the way I practice.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: No.
- 15:19SPEAKER_02: You know, absolutely.
- 15:21SPEAKER_02: Which leads us to, and if you can work with accountability, if you can work with a friend, if you can work with a buddy, if you can work with a with a guy or a your dude friend, a girlfriend, whatever it may be, whoever it may be, do that.
- 15:32SPEAKER_02: Accountability is probably one of the greatest things you can do because in order for a habit to thrive and survive and actually make it past the 90-day mark, you need programming, accountability, and support.
- 15:42SPEAKER_02: But accountability and support will go a very long way.
- 15:46SPEAKER_02: Even if you're kind of scattered with your program or what it is that you've taken on, because accountability won't waver.
- 15:52SPEAKER_02: This podcast, I had my buddy Raul Gomez hold me accountable and it gets done because if not, Raul's texting me, hey, where's the new pod, bro?
- 15:59SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: So it's nice.
- 16:01SPEAKER_02: And I tell him, you have all of the authority and all of the permission to hold me accountable, right?
- 16:06SPEAKER_02: Shout out my bro.
- 16:07SPEAKER_02: Shout out Raul.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: I know you're listening to this right now, bro.
- 16:10SPEAKER_02: You're driving home right now.
- 16:11SPEAKER_02: I love you, brother.
- 16:13SPEAKER_02: So, yeah, you know, using accountability gets things done.
- 16:17SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 16:17SPEAKER_02: So if if you're ready for change and if you're ready to do something different, as we mentioned, we invite you to come work with the golf psycho, book your lesson.
- 16:24SPEAKER_02: And like I said, it we're gonna write goals for you.
- 16:26SPEAKER_02: You're gonna have a curated plan, you're gonna have support, you're gonna have accountability, and you're gonna have the best chance to actually get something done.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: If you're one of these folks that's like, I constantly buy new clubs in a new putter and I spend this and I spend thousands of dollars.
- 16:38SPEAKER_02: Actually invest towards something that's gonna make a change.
- 16:41SPEAKER_02: Maybe it's not us, maybe it's a different mental game coach, maybe it's a swing coach, whatever it is that's calling for your game.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: We just want to invite you to do something different, right?
- 16:50SPEAKER_02: Just do something different in order to create a different, a different outcome, right?
- 16:55SPEAKER_02: I think I've heard the expression, the definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over and over, expecting a new result, right?
- 17:01SPEAKER_02: So if we're one of these people that have plateaued, skillful effort, skillful effort.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: How can we take our unskilled effort and make it more skilled?
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: Fifth, fifth and final tip manage your expectations.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: This is just because progress isn't linear.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: Let's say, just for example, you're we're scoring 100, we want to break 90.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: It's not gonna be, oh, I changed my practice once and now I'm shooting 89, right?
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: Or what have you.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: It's not gonna, it's may not always be 100 and 99, 98, right?
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: Sometimes it might be 100, okay, 99, 100, 98, right?
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: But it'll continue to go in that way.
- 17:37SPEAKER_02: It'll continue to trend and get better.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: That is normal.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: The what's more important that will get you there is that consistency.
- 17:44SPEAKER_02: I mean, it it took me a year to finally break the low score.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: And in that, we celebrated the small wins, though, which is another podcast that we should do that is also very, very important because there are wins in there.
- 17:56SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 17:56SPEAKER_02: You know, breaking, breaking that, like I said, we've been very, very open about my game, right?
- 18:02SPEAKER_02: And what it looks like and what it was and what what it meant to us to break these, these low records, right?
- 18:07SPEAKER_02: And going on to do it again at 73 and then at 72 and then at 71 was a big deal, you know.
- 18:13SPEAKER_02: But it all got kicked off with that 174.
- 18:16SPEAKER_02: You know, that 174 just kind of like it gave me all the permission in the world to just go, this, this is possible.
- 18:23SPEAKER_02: I can do this.
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: And I can't tell you how defeated you can be after 20 years and not being able to ever even get close.
- 18:31SPEAKER_02: And uh, and what it means to somebody when you've been working on something for so long and then you finally achieve it.
- 18:36SPEAKER_02: And then you just you don't just achieve that number, but you go on to keep doing it.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:41SPEAKER_02: And now we're chasing breaking 70, and it's been there.
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: And I will shoot under under par a few times on nine holes, and it's it's there, it's coming, it's coming.
- 18:50SPEAKER_02: And I'm very, very excited.
- 18:51SPEAKER_02: I haven't been playing a whole lot.
- 18:53SPEAKER_02: We've been doing more things on the side of you know, coaching and production.
- 18:56SPEAKER_02: So I haven't been playing as much as I should.
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: So I'm very excited to get back into it in order to chase that goal.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: We'll document that goal and we'll we'll go out there and there's gonna be lots of goodies that we're gonna do as a result of vlogging these rounds.
- 19:06SPEAKER_02: But yeah, you know, if this is resonating with you, we'd love to hear from you.

- 19:48SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: And we we truly cherish this game.
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: It's given us so much.
- 19:52SPEAKER_02: And yeah, if that's resonating with you, and like I said, if you can support the channel in any single way, we are very, very grateful for your time.

- 20:07SPEAKER_00: Can't thank you enough.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: In conclusion.
- 20:09SPEAKER_02: In conclusion.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: In conclusion, quick summary.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: So notice does our practice need some updating?
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: What's your big why?
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: Number three, start small with whatever that goal is or how we're going to update your practice.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: Then send this to a friend, if you are doing this by yourself, to that accountability.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: And then, of course, our expectations.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: But we are just uh so grateful for you if you're listening or or watching.
- 20:38SPEAKER_02: If I can do it after 20 years, you guys, you can do it.
- 20:41SPEAKER_02: I'm telling you.
- 20:42SPEAKER_02: I'm telling you it's possible.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: Don't give up.
- 20:45SPEAKER_02: You just have to change what we're doing a little bit.
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: We need to have that moment where, like, yeah, you know what?
- 20:49SPEAKER_02: I I could do this different.
- 20:51SPEAKER_02: I I am doing the same old thing, or or maybe I do change things, but it's not, it's not enough, or it's still not reaping those rewards, right?
- 21:01SPEAKER_02: So, but then there's also that understanding that it takes time and I and I get that too, right?
- 21:06SPEAKER_02: I get that too.
- 21:07SPEAKER_02: But, you know, I think intuitively we can all feel am I progressing?
- 21:10SPEAKER_02: Am I not?
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: Correct.
- 21:11SPEAKER_02: And and getting close is progress, you guys.
- 21:13SPEAKER_02: If you're noticing, you're noticing rounds where, hey, I'm getting close, I'm getting close.
- 21:18SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm I I keep, you can kind of sense when you're scratching that surface.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 21:23SPEAKER_02: When you're when you're about to drop into a new, into a new low, into a new place that you've never been before.
- 21:29SPEAKER_02: But absolutely consider all of these tips and let us know if any of them feel right.
- 21:36SPEAKER_02: And maybe if you've fixed this problem yourself, maybe you've had these accomplishments and there's certain things that have worked with you.
- 21:42SPEAKER_02: We'd love to hear from you, but that's what we want.
- 21:44SPEAKER_02: We love the golf psycho community to be chatty and supportive.
- 21:50SPEAKER_02: That's our goal for the golf psycho community.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: We want all of these psychos to get together, support each other, back each other up.
- 21:57SPEAKER_02: And we understand that this is a game of life, right?
- 21:59SPEAKER_02: We understand that this game means a lot to us.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: As I show the video of Breaking 74, the emotions coming out of me, the emotions coming out of hers.
- 22:07SPEAKER_02: You know, she's so proud.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: This game means a lot to a lot of people.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: Some folks will never understand that.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: That's okay.
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: That's not, that's not their journey.
- 22:15SPEAKER_02: But, you know, for us golfers, it it means the world.
- 22:17SPEAKER_02: It means the world, and I know what it means to you.
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: So if this is you, don't give up.
- 22:21SPEAKER_02: Keep at it, stay in touch.
- 22:23SPEAKER_02: And greens and fairways, you guys, greens and fairways.
- 22:26SPEAKER_02: We'll catch you guys on the next episode.
- 22:28SPEAKER_02: Peace.
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: Cheers.
