- 0:04Speaker 1: am six forty and now Handle on the news.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, here's Bill Handle. It is a Thursday,
- 0:28Speaker 2: July the ninth, and today is July the ninth. I
- 0:35Speaker 2: don't know what day it is. Is it National Hamburger Day?
- 0:39Speaker 3: Is it.
- 0:41Speaker 2: National STD Day? I have no idea National Video Game Day?
- 0:46Speaker 2: Is it?
- 0:47Speaker 4: It was yesterday?
- 0:48Speaker 2: Okay? I love national days, just love them. You know,
- 0:54Speaker 2: real national days are an act of Congress. I don't
- 0:58Speaker 2: know if you knew that there Congress defined someone comes
- 1:01Speaker 2: up and goes, you know, National Yellow Paint Day, and
- 1:07Speaker 2: you have a congress person that introduces that into Congress,
- 1:10Speaker 2: and it goes on the consent calendar, which means at
- 1:14Speaker 2: a certain point that they do this once in a while,
- 1:17Speaker 2: they just someone reads off the introduction of these days
- 1:21Speaker 2: and by a voice, a voice vote yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:24Speaker 2: and it goes. And I was I was doing a
- 1:28Speaker 2: commercial for some legal firm years and years ago, and
- 1:35Speaker 2: they did wills and trusts, et cetera, and it was
- 1:38Speaker 2: National Make a Will Day. And I questioned it, and
- 1:44Speaker 2: I said, National Make a Will Day? Really? Is that
- 1:49Speaker 2: an official holiday?
- 1:51Speaker 4: Now?
- 1:51Speaker 2: We made it up. Okay, so we're going to have
- 1:56Speaker 2: what National Film Alter your House Day is today? No,
- 2:02Speaker 2: today's dimples, Today's National Dimples Day. And sugar cookies National
- 2:09Speaker 2: Sugar Cookie Day seriously yep? Okay, and then dimples correct,
- 2:15Speaker 2: but not pimples no oh. National pimple Day would be
- 2:19Speaker 2: great on your cheeks or National Circumcision Day would be
- 2:26Speaker 2: fantastic and uh well, okay. National Circumcision Day would also
- 2:34Speaker 2: include uh tips for how to do it? Okay, thank
- 2:41Speaker 2: you very much, ladies and gentlemen. Oh okay, and good morning,
- 2:46Speaker 2: Ann good morning there you are, and Neil hello, hello? Okay,
- 2:54Speaker 2: Will is over there, good morning, good morning, and Cono
- 2:58Speaker 2: good morning.
- 2:59Speaker 4: It's also National Farriers Week.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Wow Ferriers Week? Now? Hang on is it?
- 3:05Speaker 1: Ye oh? Oh?
- 3:07Speaker 2: I thought it was okay for not furriers and not
- 3:12Speaker 2: a holiday that is celebrated okay, and not and not
- 3:17Speaker 2: celebrated in West Hollywood. Uh is it? It's all very confusing.
- 3:23Speaker 2: It can be, it can be, Okay, I'm telling you,
- 3:28Speaker 2: it's wonderful how many days there are. There's only three
- 3:30Speaker 2: hundred and sixty five days, and there are thousands, if
- 3:34Speaker 2: not tens of thousands of well It's National Hamburger Day.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Neil always comes up with the food right national Uh,
- 3:43Speaker 2: what Listeria Day? We can go through a lot of diseases.
- 3:47Speaker 4: July is National hot dog month. Huh huh, whole month
- 3:53Speaker 4: for the wiener. Okay, National Chipotle Burrito Day. In your
- 4:01Speaker 4: order with or without? Well, let's go. They had an
- 4:06Speaker 4: e Cooi situation going on for a while and it was.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Well they did. That was news. It was news. Okay,
- 4:14Speaker 2: let me see what else is going on? No, not much,
- 4:21Speaker 2: not much. At dinner with my daughter last night at
- 4:28Speaker 2: Stonefire Grill, of course you did, do you bet? I did? Yeah?
- 4:33Speaker 3: I know.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I got a couple of gift certificates, and tonight I'm
- 4:38Speaker 2: having dinner with my other daughter and we're going to
- 4:40Speaker 2: make it a little bit different Stonefire Grill again. Yeah,
- 4:46Speaker 2: that's a neat gift, A gift certificate for Stonefire Grill.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Thanks for way to to kill the stereotypes there, buddy.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, all right, guys, are you ready to do it?
- 5:01Speaker 2: On this Thursday morning? It is time? Amy? Did I
- 5:03Speaker 2: say good morning to you?
- 5:04Speaker 3: No?
- 5:05Speaker 2: Oh god, Because it goes to show how high on
- 5:09Speaker 2: the food chain you are.
- 5:10Speaker 3: I realized my place.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, yes you do. Okay. Rich was running around
- 5:19Speaker 2: down there and he goes, oh, okay, today I'm in
- 5:21Speaker 2: studio and he said, oh, it's nice to see you
- 5:23Speaker 2: this morning. I said, yes, it is nice to see
- 5:25Speaker 2: me and just walks down the hall. Gracious, I am
- 5:31Speaker 2: very Okay, let's do it, guys. Time for handle on
- 5:35Speaker 2: the news, Amy Neil and me lead story. I mean, well,
- 5:42Speaker 2: the ceasefire between the US in Iran has reached a
- 5:48Speaker 2: new level of ceaselessness in that the attacks are going
- 5:53Speaker 2: back and forth and the US intensifying strikes against Iran,
- 5:57Speaker 2: and the President is getting really pissed off. But here
- 6:01Speaker 2: is the problem is that the administration, particularly Donald Trump,
- 6:06Speaker 2: doesn't really get the way Iran works. Iran plays the
- 6:10Speaker 2: long game, Iran pretends to negotiate, really giving nothing up.
- 6:18Speaker 2: And if you look at Iran the Strait of Horror moves,
- 6:21Speaker 2: they're still saying that they control the Strait of Hormuz,
- 6:26Speaker 2: and they keep in mind the Straight of Horror Moves
- 6:29Speaker 2: was an open international waterway prior to the war. And
- 6:34Speaker 2: as far as the nuclear program is concerned, they're enriched
- 6:37Speaker 2: Irun and radio program. Nothing has been agreed to. Zero
- 6:41Speaker 2: has been agreed to, except the sanctions against Iran were
- 6:46Speaker 2: lifted for a period of time and they could sell oil,
- 6:49Speaker 2: which they wouldn't be able to do before. Tell me
- 6:52Speaker 2: who's winning this one.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Okay, the campaign in Maine falls mainly on the plane.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Oh wait, that's a different one. Graham Platner, Democrats were
- 7:07Speaker 3: hoping he could flip a critical US Senate seat in Maine,
- 7:11Speaker 3: ended his campaign. He announced it on x after a
- 7:14Speaker 3: woman he had dated off and on accused him of
- 7:19Speaker 3: raping her like five years ago. He said on his
- 7:23Speaker 3: ex speech, we believe that for the moment or the
- 7:26Speaker 3: movement to continue, it can't be me, and for that reason,
- 7:30Speaker 3: we're suspending campaign operations. Democratic Party leaders now have until
- 7:35Speaker 3: July twenty seventh to decide on who will be the
- 7:38Speaker 3: new candidate.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to do this at seven o'clock. And
- 7:40Speaker 2: one of one of the points that I'm going to
- 7:44Speaker 2: make is that the Platner campaign had asked for the
- 7:48Speaker 2: women that he had raped to endorse him, and they
- 7:51Speaker 2: just couldn't. He just couldn't get it. By the way,
- 7:54Speaker 2: that's just an accusation. Before I get sued by a
- 7:58Speaker 2: Plantner no proof At this point, other than an accusation.
- 8:01Speaker 4: I alleged you're the least of his problems. Right now,
- 8:04Speaker 4: it's probably true. We have to be pretty careful. There's yeah,
- 8:09Speaker 4: people get sued, and you're right. I mean it used
- 8:12Speaker 4: to be where I just didn't care. I would say
- 8:14Speaker 4: stuff that in terms of defaming people, not that I'm
- 8:18Speaker 4: defaming him. And if you think I'm defaming you, mister Plattner,
- 8:24Speaker 4: I am not. I'm merely parroting another allegation that someone
- 8:28Speaker 4: said that you raped them several women. And how's that
- 8:32Speaker 4: for being a complete woosp panty waste handle handle dodging
- 8:38Speaker 4: the law.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's it all right. I think we have
- 8:42Speaker 2: time for one more before we take our break.
- 8:43Speaker 4: Sure Mexico is reacting with outrage about the Wednesday or
- 8:50Speaker 4: they reacted yesterday about the killing of Lorenzo Selgado Rahu.
- 8:58Speaker 4: That's what I'm going with. He had immigration authorities. We
- 9:02Speaker 4: talked about this yesterday in Texas earlier this week that
- 9:06Speaker 4: said the car was being used as a weapon and
- 9:09Speaker 4: they shot him and of course killed them. The President,
- 9:15Speaker 4: Claudia Scheinbaum, vowed to respond to the killing with legal measures.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Don't know what they are. No one said what those
- 9:25Speaker 4: legal measures would be.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Yeah, well she's yeah. I mean this is basically political speak,
- 9:33Speaker 2: is what it is. I mean, nothing's gonna happen. We
- 9:36Speaker 2: demand that this stop, and then do you have ambassadors
- 9:42Speaker 2: being recalled? And not a lot happens to this. So
- 9:45Speaker 2: this will disappear very quickly. Now, it may not disappear
- 9:48Speaker 2: here as the investigation as to why Ice killed this
- 9:54Speaker 2: Mexican national, because Ice has a habit. So far of
- 9:58Speaker 2: the two people that were already killed, and they said
- 10:01Speaker 2: this was weaponized, the gentleman who had a forgot his name,
- 10:06Speaker 2: had a weapon, he pulled the weapon, and there's the
- 10:09Speaker 2: video which shows absolutely not the case. So investigation is
- 10:15Speaker 2: going to happen and we'll see. I wouldn't be surprised
- 10:17Speaker 2: if Ice was lying through this too at all.
- 10:21Speaker 3: So apparently what's old is new. President Trump flew home
- 10:26Speaker 3: from the NATO summit in Turkey on his old Air
- 10:30Speaker 3: Force one, not the shiny new Katari gifted retrofitted red,
- 10:34Speaker 3: white and blue jet. He said he would fly the
- 10:39Speaker 3: legacy aircraft for old times.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Sake, but.
- 10:43Speaker 4: It's not really why he did that.
- 10:46Speaker 3: So during the flight, Trump denied to reporters that security
- 10:50Speaker 3: concerns involving Iran were a factor in flying the old
- 10:54Speaker 3: Air Force one. But then we talked to John Decker,
- 10:57Speaker 3: ABC's White House correspondent, who is in Turkey. He told
- 11:01Speaker 3: wake Up Call that the Secret Service basically said the
- 11:03Speaker 3: President could not fly the new jet because it doesn't
- 11:06Speaker 3: have the same defense capabilities as the old Air Force one.
- 11:10Speaker 3: So he flew the old Air Force one to the
- 11:15Speaker 3: UK and then got on the new one for the
- 11:17Speaker 3: trip home to Washington.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Now, of course he's not going to ever say that
- 11:23Speaker 2: the new plane does not have the same security because
- 11:27Speaker 2: it's his plane. Basically, the whole thing was predicated on
- 11:31Speaker 2: a gift to him to the United States via him
- 11:33Speaker 2: from Qatar, and we had a huge controversy, so officially
- 11:38Speaker 2: it's not the Secret Service. A couple of reasons. He
- 11:41Speaker 2: gave number one for old time's sake. That's kind of important, Okay,
- 11:46Speaker 2: thirty year old plane that he bitched and moaned about,
- 11:48Speaker 2: and what it is, thirty years old, so it's time.
- 11:52Speaker 2: And then they were very excited. We're talking about the
- 12:00Speaker 2: RAF base where it was landing, and he did it
- 12:04Speaker 2: for them because they were excited to see it. So
- 12:08Speaker 2: that's why he did it? Just fantastic? I love it.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Why doesn't he just say, you know what, we had
- 12:16Speaker 2: security retard the concerns here and we have to fix those.
- 12:20Speaker 3: No chance, No, it would be a sign of weakness.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I guess, absolutely no chance. And it is if that's
- 12:28Speaker 2: true that it was security concerns. Someone blew it. Someone
- 12:33Speaker 2: absolutely blew it as the security people. Because you don't
- 12:37Speaker 2: have a new plane that has more or as good
- 12:41Speaker 2: security as the old plane. So just you double down,
- 12:46Speaker 2: you doubled down? Okay, moving on, all right? ABC fighting
- 12:51Speaker 2: back and forth with the FCC. They're putting their heels
- 12:54Speaker 2: in the sand. ABC is continuing to fight back and
- 12:58Speaker 2: pretty forcifully really in this has to.
- 13:00Speaker 4: Deal with the view and whether they're subject to the
- 13:07Speaker 4: equal time rules. So the network is accusing the Trump
- 13:11Speaker 4: administration of trying to squelch free speech, and this escalating
- 13:18Speaker 4: dispute now is going back and forth with the Federal
- 13:24Speaker 4: Communications Commission, some saying hey, listen, this was all decided
- 13:28Speaker 4: more than two decades ago that it was already within
- 13:32Speaker 4: its limits. And you know what, if you watch the view,
- 13:37Speaker 4: oh it is anti Trump, yeah, but aswer Trump.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Well, because the argument is there's still an equal time
- 13:45Speaker 2: rule on the books that no one enforces, and what
- 13:47Speaker 2: the administration said, we are going to enforce it. And
- 13:51Speaker 2: to be fair to the administration, they're also saying the
- 13:54Speaker 2: same thing on Fox's Laura Ingles Show, which is rapidly
- 13:59Speaker 2: pro Oh no they haven't. I'm sorry. I made a
- 14:02Speaker 2: mistake here. All the pro TV shows are left alone
- 14:07Speaker 2: completely Listen.
- 14:10Speaker 4: There is way more anti Trump stuff on television. But
- 14:17Speaker 4: you know, the right wing has radio. You know, try
- 14:20Speaker 4: and go throughout the country and not find, you know,
- 14:23Speaker 4: conservatives on the radio.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I'm surprised they don't get Well, they can't go after
- 14:27Speaker 2: MSNBC because that is legitimately news. It's Fox that is
- 14:32Speaker 2: not news. It is I mean, Fox is rabbit pro
- 14:37Speaker 2: pro Trump, and the view is rabbing anti Trump.
- 14:42Speaker 4: What I think the you think MSNBC or whatever it is,
- 14:46Speaker 4: ms now or whatever you think that in CNS CNN
- 14:51Speaker 4: is real news.
- 14:53Speaker 2: CNN, yes, even though it is by it No, CNN
- 14:56Speaker 2: is real news. It's bias. Really, yeah, they're all They
- 15:02Speaker 2: all called their bias. That's fine. There is bias. News
- 15:05Speaker 2: has bias, yes, but it's light news light bias. For example,
- 15:10Speaker 2: CNN does give news. Fox Uh, gives news except their
- 15:17Speaker 2: shows at Laura Ingle.
- 15:19Speaker 4: And you've got talking heads like radio.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Yeah, but they but they don't go after. What I'm
- 15:26Speaker 2: saying is the talking heads that are anti Trump are
- 15:30Speaker 2: being attacked where the pro Trump talking heads are. As
- 15:34Speaker 2: a matter of fact, they're being put on pedestals by Trump.
- 15:39Speaker 4: He loves Fox and he says it, so he calls
- 15:42Speaker 4: him every morning he does. That's exactly what he does.
- 15:47Speaker 2: So you know, it's just another attack. Makes absolutely no sense. Uh.
- 15:51Speaker 2: You know, let's if there's a perceived enemy, God bless you,
- 15:55Speaker 2: you're you're on the radar screen. Uh. And if you're
- 15:58Speaker 2: an ally you what you do is you get pardoned
- 16:01Speaker 2: for any crime that you could commit.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Okay, sounds a bit like police want to rob Peter
- 16:07Speaker 3: to pay Paul. On this one, the LAPD is considering
- 16:11Speaker 3: whether to shut down the Police Academy for part of
- 16:14Speaker 3: twenty twenty eight so they can put hundreds of officers
- 16:18Speaker 3: back on the streets for the Olympics and Paralympics.
- 16:22Speaker 2: That makes sense.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Well, the proposal was apparently floated at a senior staff meeting,
- 16:26Speaker 3: but some say they're worried that pausing the Police Academy
- 16:31Speaker 3: would set back the department's efforts to hire more police
- 16:34Speaker 3: officers and also, you know, replenish its dwindling right now.
- 16:39Speaker 2: If that makes sense rehiring police officers, I don't know.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I mean they can rehire them. It's going through the academy,
- 16:44Speaker 2: that's the problem. And they need the police officers.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Well, they're saying, we've got a story of news that
- 16:51Speaker 3: they're saying it's going to be like twenty four thousand
- 16:54Speaker 3: police officers short. They need to find some more.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Well eventually, I mean not now.
- 17:00Speaker 3: No for the Olympics.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Oh I see the security people. Yeah, yeah, because they're
- 17:04Speaker 2: not there's there's never enough security now for a games
- 17:07Speaker 2: like this. They're just aren't. Oh talking about the Olympics.
- 17:13Speaker 2: And this one is the a soccer story Neil or Amy, No,
- 17:18Speaker 2: we still have a story. Oh yeah we do. I've
- 17:20Speaker 2: got that. Yeah, I'm making this up. Okay, let's just
- 17:24Speaker 2: do it, Amy this comic or Neil, let's see the
- 17:27Speaker 2: next story. Oh it's good.
- 17:29Speaker 4: Yeah, why don't you just sit there and look pretty? Bill,
- 17:31Speaker 4: we got this, buddy, Yeah, go ahead, all right, So
- 17:35Speaker 4: President VERUK assault, I want my name up there, daddy,
- 17:39Speaker 4: and I want it now. Federal Appeals Court for a
- 17:42Speaker 4: second time, said it would not quickly intervene to reverse
- 17:47Speaker 4: a judge's order that removed Trump's name from the Kennedy Center.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Excuse me, it's not the Kennedy Center. It's Donald J.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Trump Kennedy Center. And they, I think, and they did
- 18:01Speaker 2: remove it, but that tarp that covers it up is
- 18:06Speaker 2: still there, and I'm willing to bet it's going to
- 18:11Speaker 2: be there until the end of the presidency.
- 18:14Speaker 4: Wait, so is it is the name under that tart still?
- 18:18Speaker 2: Yeah? No, they're saying no. They're saying it's unremoved, and
- 18:21Speaker 2: there's pictures of it being removed, but publicly it's not
- 18:27Speaker 2: shown that it's removed. I mean, you don't take Trump's
- 18:30Speaker 2: name off of anything, and there's no backlash, so it's
- 18:35Speaker 2: covered up. Still, it's covered up, the removal.
- 18:38Speaker 4: The only thing he's ever won in his name off
- 18:41Speaker 4: of is lawsuits.
- 18:43Speaker 2: That's probably true or not even because any publicity is
- 18:50Speaker 2: good publicity. We said you've heard that before. Okay, now
- 18:54Speaker 2: we have the soccer store.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Soccer fans have pitched a fit ooh or World Cup tickets.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Two World Cup customers who are from California are suing
- 19:08Speaker 3: stub Hub, which is based in New York, for allegedly
- 19:10Speaker 3: false and misleading advertising that left them without tickets or
- 19:14Speaker 3: a refund to World Cup matches that they paid to attend.
- 19:19Speaker 3: Some say they had purchased tickets to World Cup games
- 19:22Speaker 3: as early as last November. They booked their flights and
- 19:26Speaker 3: their hotels, they arranged their travel plans, and then like
- 19:30Speaker 3: days or weeks before the match, StubHub contacted them and said, oh,
- 19:34Speaker 3: you're getting a refund.
- 19:34Speaker 2: You don't have tickets. Yeah, that's a little problematic in
- 19:38Speaker 2: the sense of how many thousands of dollars do you
- 19:40Speaker 2: put out? What are hotel rooms during the World Cup
- 19:46Speaker 2: and what are flights? Oh yeah, yeah, they're going to
- 19:49Speaker 2: get nailed. And StubHub has done a horrible job. I
- 19:51Speaker 2: think even FIFA has done a horrible job with its
- 19:55Speaker 2: tickets and everything they can do to maximize the money
- 19:59Speaker 2: coming in. And I can't even imagine how much money
- 20:02Speaker 2: is actually coming into FIFA because the official prices on
- 20:06Speaker 2: these games can go five thousand, four thousand dollars and
- 20:11Speaker 2: they're in forty eight different stadiums, all of them sold out.
- 20:15Speaker 2: And then you have the television rights that have been sold,
- 20:17Speaker 2: and you have the sponsorships. Man, it's good to be FIFA.
- 20:23Speaker 4: That's for sure. Well more FIFA news. You have the
- 20:30Speaker 4: World Cup as we know, winding down, and they have
- 20:33Speaker 4: the big halftime show that's coming up on July nineteenth
- 20:37Speaker 4: at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. And guess who's
- 20:41Speaker 4: joining the music team. You've got Justin Bieber along with Madonna,
- 20:47Speaker 4: Shakira and BTS.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Now yeah, okay, Madonna. Yeah. They also have Gustavo Dudamel,
- 20:56Speaker 2: the conduct.
- 20:58Speaker 4: What the La Times to write story on him?
- 21:00Speaker 2: Oh, he's incredible.
- 21:02Speaker 4: Just I'm kidding. That's all they do is write stories on.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Still, he's incredible. He is the music director of the
- 21:08Speaker 2: La phil Harmonic and has been for seventeen years. He's
- 21:11Speaker 2: taking over New York phil Harmonic and he is He
- 21:15Speaker 2: is seriously one of the world's top conductors.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Time for Trump to pay up. A Judge Lewis A.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Kaplan has issued an order saying that Trump can be
- 21:26Speaker 3: paid or Egene Carroll can be paid the five point
- 21:31Speaker 3: eight million dollars set aside to her, along with interest
- 21:36Speaker 3: that has grown since the verdict. Carol's lawyers had requested
- 21:40Speaker 3: the disbursement after the US Supreme Court declined to hear
- 21:43Speaker 3: an appeal of the twenty twenty three civil verdict.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Yeah, what's five million dollars to Trump? I mean, the
- 21:49Speaker 2: guy made in his first year of his second term
- 21:54Speaker 2: two billion dollars. So five point eight a million is
- 22:01Speaker 2: with interest, is absolutely nothing.
- 22:04Speaker 4: It's good to be the king.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Yeah it is. And it's more of a question of
- 22:09Speaker 2: Trump being on the wrong end losing this process. But
- 22:14Speaker 2: so so be it. So she'll get paid she should.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Oh great story. Oh I love this one.
- 22:21Speaker 4: Oh no, this is Oh, this is fantastic. So I'm
- 22:26Speaker 4: going through the news last night and this pops up,
- 22:29Speaker 4: and I'm like, what in the hell you have a
- 22:31Speaker 4: flight instructor. Instructor who jumped to his death from a
- 22:37Speaker 4: ce cessna. Yeah, a little small with a student with him,
- 22:44Speaker 4: a twenty two year old student. They think it's he suicided.
- 22:49Speaker 2: I guess.
- 22:51Speaker 3: That.
- 22:53Speaker 4: Apparently he at one point looks over at her. The
- 22:57Speaker 4: student takes off his head set, arranged his belongings, including
- 23:02Speaker 4: like you know, mobile, mobile phone, took off his seat belt,
- 23:07Speaker 4: opened the door, which, as you can imagine, is very
- 23:09Speaker 4: difficult when you're in flight like that on a small
- 23:13Speaker 4: plane and he jumped out, but before he did, he
- 23:16Speaker 4: turned to his student and told her, you know what
- 23:19Speaker 4: to do, keep moving forward. Then jumped and apparently she
- 23:24Speaker 4: did brilliantly, and everybody raised her under the circumstance.
- 23:28Speaker 2: You know, and you do saw a solo flight when
- 23:32Speaker 2: you get your license. I remember I was usually that way. No,
- 23:36Speaker 2: that is a boy. That's really a way to say, Okay,
- 23:39Speaker 2: it's time for you to solo. So he took a
- 23:42Speaker 2: flyer out the door, very very very strong.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Here's another really sad story. CTE strikes again. Former Dallas
- 23:51Speaker 3: Cowboys defensive end Marshaan Neeland died November twenty twenty five
- 23:57Speaker 3: of a self inflicted gunshot wound. He's been diagnosed now
- 24:02Speaker 3: because they can't do these tests until after the person
- 24:05Speaker 3: is dead, with stage one chronic traumatic encephalopathy or CTE.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Neiland's family released a statement with the diagnosis. They said
- 24:15Speaker 3: it doesn't change the tragedy of his passing, but it
- 24:17Speaker 3: does provide important context about some of the struggles that
- 24:21Speaker 3: he may have been facing.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Yeah, and the only way they can determine CTE is
- 24:26Speaker 2: to basically look at the brain, and that's after they're dead.
- 24:31Speaker 2: And so a lot of these NFL players are donating
- 24:34Speaker 2: their brains for science, medical science to figure out what
- 24:38Speaker 2: CTE is. Remember the movie with Will Smith about that
- 24:42Speaker 2: Nigerian doctor who actually insisted and discovered what CTE is.
- 24:48Speaker 2: And it's just an amazing film.
- 24:50Speaker 4: And so you know what's funny about this, and people
- 24:52Speaker 4: don't understand that science is observed by humans and there
- 24:57Speaker 4: is politics and everything else in it. They they torched
- 25:02Speaker 4: that poor doctor for years because the power of the
- 25:05Speaker 4: NFL and everything else, and everybody kind of called him
- 25:08Speaker 4: a quack. Well you know, the rest of everybody else,
- 25:14Speaker 4: all the other doctors says, is it okay, good for him?
- 25:17Speaker 2: But his credentials are beyond insane. I mean, if they
- 25:21Speaker 2: still didn't listen to it, you're absolutely right, you're right.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Let's do one more story and then will bail.
- 25:27Speaker 4: So man, the Crime of the Century continues. Three more
- 25:30Speaker 4: people have been criminally charged with destruction of property at
- 25:33Speaker 4: the Lincoln Memorial reflecting Pool by removing pieces of the
- 25:38Speaker 4: blue paint from the reflecting pool. And this is on
- 25:41Speaker 4: camera and witnesses, including body cams from security out there.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Which we haven't seen.
- 25:50Speaker 4: Oh, which conspiracy theorists.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Well, and let me put it this way. You have
- 25:56Speaker 2: what is it Janine Piro, who is the US attorney
- 25:59Speaker 2: for Washing se with the fellow who was arrested, and
- 26:04Speaker 2: he says that he simply pulled a piece that was
- 26:09Speaker 2: floating around. It was just coming out of him.
- 26:12Speaker 4: If you're looking to guess, none of these were Republicans,
- 26:15Speaker 4: and they were probably people who don't like Trump.
- 26:19Speaker 2: You would think so. And the way she when she
- 26:21Speaker 2: had her press conference is he violently put his hands
- 26:25Speaker 2: into the reflecting pool and pulled off the liner. Uh,
- 26:30Speaker 2: and was belligerent to the park rangers who were coming.
- 26:35Speaker 2: I didn't know being belligerent to park rangers is a crime.
- 26:39Speaker 2: And you bet your wait, and of course he's going
- 26:41Speaker 2: to be acquitted. Of course he's going to be acquitted.
- 26:43Speaker 2: And so some of these people admitted to it, by
- 26:46Speaker 2: the way, had it not admitted to not admitted to
- 26:48Speaker 2: cutting the liner?
- 26:51Speaker 4: No, but they they pulled it up and put it
- 26:54Speaker 4: in their purse.
- 26:55Speaker 2: They pulled up that was already it had already separated.
- 26:59Speaker 2: And the issue is is that is that what do
- 27:03Speaker 2: you call destruction of a federal property?
- 27:06Speaker 4: You don't think people are just yutzing Trump and going,
- 27:10Speaker 4: what a bad job and putting it online and just
- 27:14Speaker 4: leave it alone.
- 27:15Speaker 2: But we don't see it. It's not online. We don't
- 27:18Speaker 2: see any of it. Yeah, we don't see him violently
- 27:22Speaker 2: reaching his hands down and pulling this thing. All we've
- 27:25Speaker 2: heard so far is that someone cut three hundred and
- 27:31Speaker 2: fifty feet of this liner, and then the other thing
- 27:35Speaker 2: is paint. From what I understand, it's sprayed on and
- 27:41Speaker 2: taking a box cutter and cutting does that. I don't
- 27:44Speaker 2: know what that does. We're going to find out. And
- 27:46Speaker 2: we're also out of time, all right. Coming up the
- 27:48Speaker 2: Graham Plattner story out of Maine. Oh man, it's a
- 27:52Speaker 2: good one, and we'll talk about that coming up right
- 27:56Speaker 2: here on KFI. This is KFI A six forty. You've
