- 0:00You've said that there is a difference between wanting something and valuing it.
- 0:05What does that mean?
- 0:06Everybody wants perfect relationship, the business, the dream body, but not everyone values that.
- 0:12People avoid difficult moments, trials and tribulations, but trials and tribulations is what's going to help you be responsible, what God is giving you.
- 0:21Today's guest is Jasmine Elizabeth, entrepreneur, speaker, and faith-based personal development advocate.
- 0:27In this conversation, she explores the difference between wanting something and truly valuing it, how hardship and failure can shape what we value and why our identity and worth shouldn't be tied to success, money, or external validation.
- 0:40Were you happier when you had nothing?
- 0:42Yes, I was happier with nothing because I had peace in my life.
- 0:48And what happens when somebody is ambitious and wants it fast?
- 0:53Nothing is in our control.
- 0:54That is the hard part for human beings to surrender.
- 0:58It's not our will.
- 0:59It's God's will.
- 1:04MyFitnessPal is a success story partner.
- 1:06Now there's something that stops a lot of people from doing the one thing that would help them feel better in their day to day.
- 1:13Give them more energy, make them sharper, help them sleep better.
- 1:16I think we all want these things, right?
- 1:18It's tracking your food.
- 1:20It's not rocket science, but tracking your food, tracking what goes into your body is the single best way to feel better, to live a better life, to have more energy, to show up,
- 1:33better at work, better at home.
- 1:35And tracking your food is not weird, it's not obsessive, it's not something that only fitness influencers do.
- 1:40Because when you first hear, I track what I eat, it can sound like somebody who weighs every grain of rice and is panicking about a slice of pizza.
- 1:49That's not what this is.
- 1:50that's not what i do and i use my fitness pal what i do is i log what i eat and it shows me what's going on with my food and there's this misconception that if you log your food it's going to take up an hour of your day no they've nailed it and i've been using for context in my fitness pal app for years now it's one of the first tools i've ever used first apps i've ever used
- 2:10when I was on my own health and wellness journey.
- 2:12The reason being is because it's so simple.
- 2:13So they have a couple different ways to log food.
- 2:16Barcode scanner that handles any packaged products.
- 2:19You just scan it, it'll log it.
- 2:21They have voice logging.
- 2:22So I can say what I ate out loud.
- 2:23They'll log it.
- 2:24There's also meal scan where I can point my camera at my plate and it figures out exactly what's on my plate.
- 2:29And here's where the premium version of MyFitnessPal comes in.
- 2:33It breaks down my macros by meal, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, all separate.
- 2:37And that's valuable info because the distribution of my food across my day matters just as much as the total.
- 2:44So if most of your protein is at dinner and you're running on coffee and carbs until 2 p.m., well, your body is going all morning and most of the afternoon without what it needs.
- 2:54So if you feel like garbage around 3 and 4, it's going to show you that.
- 2:57So MyFitnessPal gives you meal by meal breakdown.
- 3:01And the premium also has a food analysis that shows patterns across the week where you're consistent, where things start to shift when life gets busy.
- 3:08So all of a sudden, that mid-afternoon crash is no longer a surprise.
- 3:12You understand what you ate and you understand what you feel like garbage, or rather you understand what you didn't eat.
- 3:18It also connects with 40 fitness apps and wearables.
- 3:20So if you use a smartwatch or a workout app, your nutrition and your training are all in one spot.
- 3:25Think about it this way.
- 3:26You wouldn't call someone obsessive for checking their bank account, for paying attention to their expenses, for making sure they're not overspending or have all these subscriptions that they're not using if they're trying to save up to purchase a house, right?
- 3:40It's smart to have the right data.
- 3:42And people that check their bank account, they just want to know what's going on so they can make good decisions.
- 3:46This is the same thing.
- 3:47It's information about the one thing, food, that affects how you feel more than anything else.
- 3:52Because food is a foundation for your energy, for your sleep, for your weight, for your recovery, for your performance at work and at home.
- 3:58And you don't have to overhaul how you eat to get value from this.
- 4:02This is not about restriction or dieting.
- 4:04It's about having information.
- 4:06So do yourself a favor, start paying attention to what goes into your body.
- 4:10Go to podcasts,
- 4:11myfitnesspal.com and use code Scott.
- 4:13That's S-C-O-T-T, all uppercase letters for 15% off MyFitnessPal premium.
- 4:18One more time, that is podcasts.myfitnesspal.com, code Scott.
- 4:28You've said that there is a difference between wanting something and valuing it.
- 4:34What does that mean?
- 4:35I feel like everybody wants like really perfect relationship.
- 4:40Everyone wants the business, the dream body, but not everyone values that.
- 4:46And I feel like what I meant by that is when you value something, it's almost like,
- 4:52you've been through some stuff where you now realize, okay, like in order for my life to change, I need to really change the way I think, change the way my habits are, really change the paradigm and the beliefs that I have towards, you know, wanting something and, you know,
- 5:11for me going through something and then realizing, okay, I, like I've always wanted freedom but now I value it because I know what it's like to be on the opposite side of not valuing freedom and seeing how the, like destructive that has become.
- 5:27If you just want it,
- 5:29and you don't respect it, like respect and value, or almost like I'm using those words.
- 5:33Yeah, like biblically, I would say it would be like stewarding, like stewarding something that God has given you.
- 5:40Like that for me is like translates into valuing something that.
- 5:44The second you say that, I think about why, I think about what and how, sorry, most people operate in life and they always want and they always want and they always want.
- 5:55But once they get it,
- 5:58It doesn't seem like they've stewarded it.
- 6:01I've never used that word.
- 6:02But, for example, look at the person that gets money quickly.
- 6:05Yeah, exactly.
- 6:07They always wanted money.
- 6:08So why do you disrespect it once you get it?
- 6:11And then the people that take the time and do it the right way and work exceptionally hard...
- 6:19I mean, this is the reason why lottery winners go bankrupt.
- 6:22This is the reason even why, you know, like young athletes, they get huge signing bonuses at a young age.
- 6:29A lot of them don't end up well financially because they don't steward the thing that they got because they don't realize.
- 6:37I mean, yes, athletes work harder than lottery winners, but it's still it's so much so quickly.
- 6:45I'm even thinking about, you know, the person that not only gets the business, like, okay, so I don't think there's too many people that get quick success in entrepreneurship and business, but all the other ways that things come easy to them, like especially a relationship.
- 6:59Somebody worked out, you know, you found somebody who you love very young.
- 7:05And then you don't, you don't value that.
- 7:07And it's so funny because how, it's not funny, it's actually sad.
- 7:10How many times, how many times after, I'm only speaking from my side of the relationship, a guy would break up with a girl and then like a year later he wants her back?
- 7:20And he was cheating on her when he had her, but then he realizes that he really fucked up because he didn't steward it.
- 7:25Yeah, exactly.
- 7:26But if he's gone through relationships, breakups, been dumped because he's an asshole, well now finally when he's 35 or 40, finally he treats the relationship with respect, hopefully, because he stewards it now.
- 7:39So why can't we...
- 7:41do that right from the get-go.
- 7:42I feel like because people avoid hardship, people avoid difficult moments or trials and tribulations.
- 7:52And so I find that they run away from that, but really trials and tribulations is what's going to help you be responsible
- 8:00with what God is giving you, which is how you're going to value it, because you know what it's like to have worked your butt off to, or you know what you went through, had to come out of, and you don't want to go back there.
- 8:15So now you're valuing the freedom that you have.
- 8:17You're valuing the dream body that you have.
- 8:19You're valuing the relationship that you had.
- 8:22Your story, to back up a little bit, just to when you started posting and building your own business with UBC.
- 8:30So you wanted financial freedom for years.
- 8:33Yeah.
- 8:34Nothing happened.
- 8:35Maybe just give the audience an idea of where you came from because you didn't come from money.
- 8:41You didn't come from massive – there was no trust fund involved, right?
- 8:43Yeah.
- 8:44And something shifted.
- 8:46And then that shift allowed you to hit your first $10,000 month in the first six months of this mindset shift.
- 8:53So let's, let's tee up your origin story a little bit.
- 8:58What was going on before this shift between want and value?
- 9:01I didn't come from money.
- 9:02I was raised in an area where it was very low income homes.
- 9:07My mom worked multiple jobs just to get by.
- 9:11And we were raised on like it was nothing was ever enough.
- 9:15Like we always had to like really just save on certain things, save on toilet paper, like raise the
- 9:20the heat a little bit so we don't have like a high bill, electricity bill.
- 9:26So it was that was my entire life.
- 9:28And I realized, okay, like, how can I get more?
- 9:32I knew we didn't have enough.
- 9:33But I was like, okay, so how do we get more then?
- 9:35And so I was curious.
- 9:37And I seen entrepreneurship.
- 9:40And I started at the beginning on online business and network marketing.
- 9:45And I tried for two years,
- 9:51And the reason why that happened was because, again, wanted it but didn't value it, right?
- 9:57I didn't go through enough to really see like, okay, I'm in a hard situation in my life.
- 10:05I'm kind of like stuck on a...
- 10:07I'm, I'm, I'm, there's like, I can't have a backup plan.
- 10:11So I was like, I am the backup plan.
- 10:13So, but before that, I didn't have like that hardship for me to realize, like, I need to look inward and I need to trust myself before I was like, okay, throwing a fit, like if it didn't work, if I got rejected, and I got a no from someone that was trying to close, like, I would have the worst pessimistic mindset.
- 10:30I was so negative.
- 10:31And I,
- 10:33I was very entitled.
- 10:34I thought that the world owed me everything.
- 10:37I was like a spoiled brat back then.
- 10:39The mindset was horrible.
- 10:41And that made me quit because I was like, yeah, this is not working.
- 10:44I don't know why everyone keeps saying no.
- 10:46And it was a lot of ego kill, like ego, like taking down my ego and
- 10:54Yeah, I finally felt defeated.
- 10:57I quit.
- 10:58And I went back to working at the nightclub as a bottle service girl because it was like quick money.
- 11:04And I found my ex-boyfriend at the club, which is like the worst thing to do.
- 11:09Yeah, the toxic ex-boyfriend.
- 11:11And he painted me a beautiful picture of, hey, I'll take care of you.
- 11:16Hey, I have all of this showed me the nice, luxurious lifestyle.
- 11:20And I was like, wow, okay, maybe this is like the lottery ticket for me because I don't have to work my butt off.
- 11:26I don't have to figure it out myself.
- 11:28I can just pond my purpose off to him and it'll be fine.
- 11:32I thought...
- 11:33You know, back then, and it still is till this day, the world really teaches teaches a lot of women.
- 11:38Hey, find a rich man, find a rich man.
- 11:41That's that's the goal to find a rich man.
- 11:44And that's how I was like, the world was kind of like influencing me.
- 11:48So I was like, wow, like, OK, like I found a rich man and I got into it.
- 11:54Turned out it wasn't the best.
- 11:56It was actually, he robbed me of my peace.
- 11:59And that's when I started valuing peace over money.
- 12:03Because I had it all with him, but I really didn't.
- 12:05Like, it was like a false, fake reality of like, what...
- 12:10success is supposed to look like.
- 12:12And I was actually dying inside.
- 12:14Like it was very destructive, emotional, verbal abuse, and a lot of cheating and, and all that stuff and controlling relationships.
- 12:22So once I had enough, and I was like, Okay, I've lost myself, I don't know who I am.
- 12:27Like,
- 12:30I prayed to God for the first time.
- 12:31I didn't really have a relationship with him.
- 12:33And I surrendered it to him.
- 12:34And I was like, God, something's got to give.
- 12:36Like, this cannot be my life.
- 12:38And it's crazy because people would look at my lifestyle and glorify it.
- 12:43And I was ashamed to let them know because they were so like, they were so inspired by me.
- 12:48Like, how did you land a rich boyfriend?
- 12:49You know, and I just, I kept it to myself.
- 12:53But I was like, literally dying inside because it wasn't cut out the way I thought it was.
- 12:57And that was the moment where I realized like, now I actually value freedom because I went through all of that and it wasn't what I thought I wanted.
- 13:07Right.
- 13:08And so that's when I was like, okay, I need to turn it back around and be on my own backup plan.
- 13:14I can't pawn my purpose off to other people.
- 13:15I have to turn it back to inward to me so that I can learn how to figure it out myself so that I can learn how to trust myself to be able to do.
- 13:25get the life that I want.
- 13:26And that's the pivotal moment that changed everything.
- 13:29And it was a mindset shift of, okay, I can do this.
- 13:34I have no choice.
- 13:36I'm my own backup plan, and I'm going to figure it out regardless.
- 13:40And it was a mindset of survival.
- 13:42It was a survival mode mindset, which I don't like to teach on because ultimately it wasn't the right way.
- 13:48I was in survival mode, but it worked.
- 13:50But it's a reality.
- 13:50But it's a reality and it worked.
- 13:52And that's what made me get to my, in six months, I was like running for it.
- 13:56I got into network marketing and the online space.
- 14:00And for six months, I was like just in survival mode and living with him with all his negativity.
- 14:06So you're still with him.
- 14:09And you're like, okay, I got to find a way out.
- 14:12So this is like a survival mode kind of, not rock bottom.
- 14:16It was like my escape plan.
- 14:18Psychologically, you need to get out.
- 14:20It was an escape plan.
- 14:21I was like, okay, I'm going to stay here.
- 14:24And I'm going to build this business.
- 14:26And I'm going to get out of here.
- 14:28And I actually told him, I was like, if you don't change, I'm going to leave.
- 14:30Like, and he never listened.
- 14:32He was still the same.
- 14:33And yeah, I stayed for six months with like all the verbal, emotional abuse and cheating.
- 14:39And I was like, okay, stay focused, Jazz.
- 14:41Like, keep going.
- 14:42And honestly, like, yeah, like it worked in six months.
- 14:46It was crazy.
- 14:47I was in survival mode, but I made it happen.
- 14:50So the first business that you were building, was this the first version of what people see today?
- 14:56Yes.
- 14:56Yeah.
- 14:57Were you happier when you had nothing than when you had something, but it wasn't what you thought it was going to be?
- 15:06Yes.
- 15:08I was happier with nothing because I had peace in my life.
- 15:13When I had it all, it's almost like God needed to teach me this lesson because I just glorified this fake lifestyle of materialistic things and being attached, making it my, like it validating me if I had like the nice car or the nice purse and the nice car.
- 15:32It was like a validation that I needed to have that in order to be worthy of something.
- 15:38And then I got that and it was literally the opposite of that.
- 15:41And so I actually lost my peace, lost my sanity, lost my own way of living and thinking.
- 15:47And I realized I would have rather had nothing, have my peace and work towards my purpose.
- 15:57Because it was...
- 15:59It's purpose that fulfills you, right?
- 16:01Whereas here, I left my purpose.
- 16:03I pawned it off to him and I was like, okay, I'll just settle for this rich lifestyle and get verbally and mentally abused.
- 16:11Like, yeah.
- 16:12Just now I'm understanding your story.
- 16:13So your self-worth
- 16:15For a lot of your life, and I don't know what happened before this relationship, but a lot of your self-worth was connected to something that wasn't you.
- 16:24So with this relationship, you were probably connecting your self-worth to your image and perceived good life, even though it really wasn't when you look beneath the surface.
- 16:36But then you've also said, I'm assuming this is when your business was up and running and you're posting content for a period of time, you had your worth that was connected to the results of the business.
- 16:46So also not incredibly healthy because then when you have like a bad month or a bad week, you're like, okay, what's wrong with me?
- 16:53So, and I don't think this is that uncommon.
- 16:57No, everyone goes through it.
- 16:58I mean, when an episode flops, I'm like, fuck, what am I doing with my life?
- 17:03Right?
- 17:05And I guess the question and the advice hopefully you can pass on to people is how do you remove your worth from something else and actually place it on yourself and your value as a human?
- 17:16Because it's very hard to do.
- 17:18It's easier to say, like, oh, you know, your work is not your worth and how much money you make.
- 17:24But, like, it's very hard to do that in reality.
- 17:28So I learned to not make my mistakes my identity.
- 17:33That's the first thing where I disconnect, like, low months and mistakes or failures with my identity.
- 17:42I know it's easier said than done.
- 17:44So now let me break it down even more.
- 17:47It is a spiritual thing.
- 17:48So for me, growing my relationship with God has 100% detached me from where my validation comes from.
- 17:59So the four used to be, I would get validation from things like success, people, all the external things.
- 18:08Once I turned that into my validation comes from God, I was able to...
- 18:16like distinguish the two of like, okay, I'm having a low month, right?
- 18:21And I've had many low months, even like till this day, like entrepreneurship is up and down.
- 18:25Like we just have to understand that it's never like a straight line, you know, it's always up and down.
- 18:30And so now I'm prepared for those low moments.
- 18:34And obviously securing myself financially.
- 18:37But also like preparing myself when the low moment comes, my identity is still in what God,
- 18:45tells me who I am.
- 18:47I'm still chosen.
- 18:47I'm still set apart.
- 18:49I'm still God's child that will do something amazing in this life.
- 18:53A low month does not waver that.
- 18:56A low month does not take that away like, oh, you're not good enough.
- 19:00Yeah.
- 19:00So it's like, it's a very spiritual thing.
- 19:02Knowing that I have, let's say a failed post, I just know like, okay, well, let's try it again.
- 19:08This didn't work out.
- 19:09You aren't the failure.
- 19:11You're not the, like your mistake is, you're not going to put your mistakes into your identity.
- 19:16So let's see what works next.
- 19:17It's almost like it's, it's a quick fix when you don't attach your identity to these failures.
- 19:22It's like, okay, this is not me.
- 19:23I know who I am.
- 19:24So let's just try a different method and see what works.
- 19:28It removes you from the, it's like, it's like to think that your identity is attached to your income or your business success or someone else.
- 19:36It's, it's almost selfish.
- 19:38You say, who are you to say that, that just because something didn't work out, it's because of, it's because of you, like reframe it.
- 19:45So you have talents.
- 19:47You're using those talents to improve the world, to create wealth so you can continue on your mission.
- 19:55But ultimately, if it doesn't work out, it's data.
- 19:58Yeah, it's data.
- 19:59Exactly.
- 20:00And you just keep moving on.
- 20:01So where did your relationship with God come from?
- 20:03You said that there was a survival moment.
- 20:05Yeah.
- 20:07And that's when you, like, I mean, I'm just trying to think, like, when somebody is secular.
- 20:11Yeah.
- 20:12What's the thing that gets them to be like, I need to hit up God for a second.
- 20:16Life is like really going down the shit.
- 20:17So it was when the moment where I had lost myself in that relationship and I was outside on my balcony just...
- 20:27I believe that we are naturally created to, to depend on God.
- 20:34So it was like an instinct for me to like call out for him and be like, God, like something's got to give, like, I don't know what else to do.
- 20:41I don't have strength in me.
- 20:42Like, help me.
- 20:44I didn't, I've never done that before.
- 20:46It's just almost like I was so desperate, rock bottom, weeping, crying.
- 20:51Like I was, I would call it, I was at the end of myself.
- 20:56And that's when God met me there.
- 20:58And this is now, I know it's an act of surrender.
- 21:02And when you have...
- 21:03When you have surrendered, now God can use you to do his will for your life.
- 21:09And that's what happened.
- 21:10Because after I did that, I went to sleep, I got put on the passengers, I got put in the passenger seat of my life, and he took over.
- 21:17And in six months, I was trying to understand, how was this all happening?
- 21:21How am I so sure of the things that I'm doing?
- 21:24I wasn't.
- 21:24I had failed for two years trying to run a business.
- 21:28And when I surrendered to him, it was like he was giving me ideas, vision, and execution, like urgency to get this done.
- 21:36And everything was in alignment.
- 21:38And in six months, it happened.
- 21:40And at the time, I didn't even...
- 21:43know that it was God.
- 21:44I look back now and I'm like, this was all a God moment.
- 21:46That's when that was the act of surrender that happened for God to be able to use me and do what he needed to do.
- 21:52But back then I was like, oh, okay, it's working.
- 21:54I was, I was into crystals.
- 21:56I was into new age stuff.
- 21:58And, um, and I, I actually gave the glory to the crystals.
- 22:03I was like, oh my gosh, it's the crystals.
- 22:04It's the black rock of, I don't know.
- 22:07Like it was crazy, you know?
- 22:09And yeah.
- 22:11And then I had to learn another lesson.
- 22:14It's almost like God was like, okay, I almost had you.
- 22:17Why'd you have to go to the crystals?
- 22:18Like I got you, you know?
- 22:21And then I had to learn another lesson.
- 22:23And that second lesson was my burnout season.
- 22:26And the burnout season is when I actually found God and I actually committed to like wanting to know more about who the God that I serve.
- 22:34What was the burnout season?
- 22:36What happened?
- 22:37It was after being in survival mode because like I said, it works, but only for a short period of time.
- 22:45And so I burnt out during a season where I was like making a lot of money.
- 22:49Business was up and running.
- 22:51Boyfriend doesn't exist anymore.
- 22:52Boyfriend doesn't exist anymore.
- 22:54I was single, but single, but still unhealed.
- 22:56I didn't seek for healing at all.
- 22:58It was just like, okay, I'm having success.
- 23:00This is like, I'm healed.
- 23:01You know, you think you're healed, but really you still have a lot of issues.
- 23:04And I didn't realize that until, you know, I burnt out, was not happy with the purpose God gave me.
- 23:11I was actually very resentful to people.
- 23:15I didn't know how to steward them properly.
- 23:17I didn't know how to steward my money properly.
- 23:20And I was, I burnt out because I put all the weight on myself.
- 23:25Everything.
- 23:27Um, okay, you're not doing enough.
- 23:28You got to do more.
- 23:29So I lost sleep.
- 23:30I had only four hours of sleep.
- 23:31I gained so much weight.
- 23:34Um, was not like I was neglecting my entire life because I'm like, it's on me to figure it out.
- 23:39It's on me.
- 23:39It's always on me.
- 23:40I'm in charge of the outcome.
- 23:42And until I was like burned straight to the ground and I'm like, why don't I like what I do anymore?
- 23:48I did.
- 23:49I used to love it so much.
- 23:50It brought so much fulfillment for me to help women get out of the same situation that I was in because I would attract women who were in relationships and I would pull them out of it and help them make money for themselves.
- 24:01I was not inspired by that anymore.
- 24:03And so I was like trying to figure out what was going on.
- 24:06Why am I so burnt out?
- 24:08And yeah, it was a year that I did not do anything, really.
- 24:13I was I didn't want to I was not inspired.
- 24:15And then I.
- 24:18One of my best friends told me to come to church and I was like, I don't know.
- 24:22She's like, well, you're with me, so I'm going to bring you.
- 24:24I'm like, okay, all right.
- 24:26And then so I go and then that's when I really started to be curious.
- 24:32And I started seeking that curiosity.
- 24:35And then everything was revealed that, hey, like you're in charge of being obedient and like, which is translated in being disciplined and taking action.
- 24:45That's what you're in charge of.
- 24:46But what God is in charge of is God.
- 24:49the outcome.
- 24:50He's in charge of the outcome.
- 24:52And so, um, that's when I realized like, wow, like I can't be this independent woman.
- 24:57I actually have to be dependent, not on people on God.
- 25:03And so when I was like, I was like mind blown, he started to transform me.
- 25:07And I started to see how my life, I started to be fulfilled again.
- 25:10Like with what I do, I love what I do now.
- 25:12Like I know how to steward people properly.
- 25:14I know that, um, um,
- 25:17Yeah, like it just the love for my purpose came back after realizing like, wow, I don't have to put everything on me.
- 25:24Like you're not meant to carry all the weight.
- 25:25It was back to the thing of your self-worth being tied to the work that you do.
- 25:31And then God was like the unlock that made you realize.
- 25:35He's like my second business partner.
- 25:37Like I'm in charge of the obedience and the taking action.
- 25:42He's in charge of the outcome.
- 25:43And that's how I operate till this date for my life.
- 25:46This AI project is a God vision too.
- 25:49I was struggling because personal branding is so broad and like...
- 25:55It has been harder than ever this year for people to overcome barriers.
- 26:00And I see it and it's like more and more.
- 26:02It's like, oh, fear of being seen, camera anxiety, not being good enough, comparison.
- 26:07People are going towards perfectionism instead of being authentic because of what they see on social media.
- 26:13So there's all these barriers.
- 26:15And I'm like, God, like, just give me one solution that's going to help them overcome these barriers.
- 26:20At least camera anxiety.
- 26:22I'm like, give me one solution for them.
- 26:24for camera anxiety, even though there's a million other barriers, just give me one solution for camera anxiety.
- 26:29And I remember I was like surrendering it.
- 26:31Okay, God, I'm still here.
- 26:32I'm going to be obedient.
- 26:34I'm going to continue to run my business.
- 26:36But I'm waiting for you to give me a word.
- 26:39And it was two weeks where I didn't hear a word.
- 26:41And I was still obedient.
- 26:43I was like, okay, I'm still gonna run my business.
- 26:45I'm still gonna do the coaching calls and everything.
- 26:49And finally, he gave me
- 26:52a word for storytelling and mixing it in with these cinematic AI videos.
- 26:59And he, it was literally, he knocked down all the barriers because this knocks down all the barriers.
- 27:04Camera anxiety, not having the perfect studio.
- 27:08You can do it like in, it's crazy what AI can do.
- 27:11But now we use AI as a tool to be able to tell stories.
- 27:17And that's how you connect with your audience.
- 27:19And yeah,
- 27:20I just had one more thought on God and I've said this a few times, but you brought up a different angle that I thought was interesting.
- 27:28So I've always said that when society becomes secular and there's no traditional version of God in somebody's life, something else becomes God to them.
- 27:38Yes.
- 27:39So for you at one point, like I say this.
- 27:45to draw a comparison, not literally, but for you at some point, like what you were worshiping was a relationship and then it was crystals and then it was income and business success.
- 27:54And people have other versions of God, right?
- 27:56So they have...
- 27:57These are not the worst things that you could actually worship.
- 28:01They're not good to worship anything outside, but they're not.
- 28:03People can worship alcohol and adultery and have all these vices.
- 28:10Vices, a.k.a.
- 28:12like something that you worship.
- 28:13So they replace traditional God.
- 28:15And also when you have a very secular society, I think there's two other things that you miss out on.
- 28:21There's a lot, but there's two main things.
- 28:23One, you miss out on traditional community.
- 28:24Yeah.
- 28:25And the other thing you miss out on, regardless of what religion you actually subscribe to, all religions create this environment where you are sort of alone with your thoughts, whether or not it's going to church or going to synagogue.
- 28:40It doesn't really matter.
- 28:41It's always about being alone with your thoughts and thinking deeply.
- 28:45And in a world that's so noisy, I think that's incredibly important.
- 28:48Very important, yeah.
- 28:57on the fact that society is more secular and, and how you see that hurting people.
- 29:02This is not technically a religious podcast.
- 29:06We see people of business, but I always say in life, um, you can go after business success and make money because those other buckets that you want to make sure are never empty.
- 29:15So physical health, mental health, uh, relationships and the last one being spirituality.
- 29:20Um,
- 29:21I think that when spirituality is completely out of your life, I don't think those people are thriving and happy and fulfilled.
- 29:28And I see a lot of issues with that.
- 29:30But anyway, so tell me what you believe about the secularization of society, why God is important outside of just, you know, celebrating Christmas or Yom Kippur or Eid.
- 29:43Like, why is God important for somebody to bring into their life for their business?
- 29:47Yeah.
- 29:48a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
- 29:51People are always chasing that, like fulfillment and purpose, but they chase it and go towards the wrong things.
- 29:59I call it counterfeit.
- 30:00It's short term.
- 30:03And I find that the world is big on this.
- 30:06And if they see it's not working in relationships, okay, I'm going to hop on the next thing that I'm going to idolize, like money, income,
- 30:18all of that.
- 30:19And it's always short lived.
- 30:20And it's, it's, it's so destructive, because we live in such a self centered, selfish world.
- 30:28It's all about me, me, me, me, me.
- 30:29And, and I find that that's what the world trains you to be that you it's, it's you and your ways, even like the manifestation, like world, it's always about like, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you
- 30:43Like you can manifest anything.
- 30:45You are the one that's going to give power to the dream life.
- 30:50Like you have to say, I am a millionaire.
- 30:52I am confident.
- 30:53I am this.
- 30:55And, and draw, draw, draw out your vision board exactly how it is.
- 30:59Put a timeline to it.
- 31:01And it's so self-destructive because that's not how life operates.
- 31:06Right.
- 31:07You are on God's timeline.
- 31:09If God wants you to do whatever it is, like get this dream life, it's going to be on his timeline.
- 31:16It's not going to be on your timeline.
- 31:18You are not your own God.
- 31:19And so this world trains us to be our own God.
- 31:23And that's why we always set ourselves up for disappointment because we're always like, okay, timeline to have a baby at...
- 31:31by 30, if I don't have it at 30, I'm literally washed up grape, like might as well just, you know, just settle for adoption, you know, and it's like, it's crazy, because that's what we, it's a very spiritual world.
- 31:45If there is a God, there's also an enemy, there's also a devil.
- 31:47And the prince of this world is the devil, and he's the one that influences that.
- 31:54And he wants us to
- 32:02the one and true God, the only God, you know?
- 32:05Plot is a success story partner.
- 32:06Now, I spoke about Plot a few episodes back.
- 32:08This is the AI-powered device that captures your conversations, turns them into transcripts, summaries, action items.
- 32:14And I wanted to come back to it because I keep finding new ways that this thing is incredibly useful.
- 32:18Last week, I sat down with a potential sponsor at a coffee shop.
- 32:22And we were going back and forth on deliverables, timelines, pricing, a lot of details and a lot of numbers.
- 32:27And normally after a conversation like that, I'd open my notes app on my phone.
- 32:31I try to write everything down.
- 32:32I remembered and I'd probably get about 70% of it, but the other 30% would be gone.
- 32:37Usually the small details that end up mattering a lot later.
- 32:41But this time with their permission, I had the note pin S on my shirt and I honestly forgot it was even there.
- 32:47So after the meeting, I opened up my plot app and everything was already laid out the full transcript of
- 32:51clear summary, the key numbers we discussed and the follow-ups I'd agree to.
- 32:55And I could even ask Plod, what pricing did we discuss or what were my next steps?
- 32:59And it pulls up the answer right away.
- 33:00I didn't have to reconstruct the conversation from memory.
- 33:03And that's the part that I keep coming back to.
- 33:05I'm not splitting my attention in meetings between being present in the conversation and trying to document and remember everything.
- 33:11I can just focus on the person in front of me, knowing that the important details will be there afterwards.
- 33:16And remember, they do have two products.
- 33:17So the Note Pro magnetically attaches to the back of your phone.
- 33:20It's great for calls.
- 33:21And the Note Pin S clips or magnetically attaches to your shirt, making it ideal for in-person conversations.
- 33:26And you can choose between them depending on the situation.
- 33:29So if you spend a lot of your day in conversations and you're tired of losing important details, go check it out.
- 33:34Go to plod.ai slash success and use code success for 15% off.
- 33:39That's plod.ai slash success and use code success for 15% off.
- 33:43Odoo is a success story partner.
- 33:45And remember that is pronounced Oh do.
- 33:47Now I want to tell you something that happened to me recently that I think a lot of you will relate to.
- 33:51I was trying to send a quote to a client and this should be simple, right?
- 33:55Except the pricing was in one tool and the contact info was in another tool.
- 33:59And the last conversation that we had was in a third tool.
- 34:02And then I spent something like 20 minutes pulling it all together for one quote.
- 34:06And that's the thing.
- 34:07Each tool works fine on its own.
- 34:09The problem is that they don't talk to each other.
- 34:11So you become the person connecting everything.
- 34:14You become the integration.
- 34:16You're the one copying numbers between tabs and making sure everything matches.
- 34:20But that's what Odoo fixes.
- 34:22It puts everything on one platform.
- 34:24So I'm talking accounting, invoicing, CRM, inventory, HR, project management, your website, e-commerce, e-signatures, over 45 apps, all connected.
- 34:33When something happens in one place, every other place already knows about it.
- 34:37So you're not updating three systems every time you close a deal.
- 34:40And the pricing is the part that surprised me.
- 34:42The first app is free for life, unlimited users, hosting included.
- 34:47One subscription after that unlocks everything else.
- 34:50So if you're spending your time connecting tools instead of actually doing the work you have to do, go check it out.
- 34:54Links in the show notes.

- 35:00Daily podcast, newsletter.
- 35:02I run a full marketing agency.
- 35:03My days are super full.
- 35:04And honestly, that's exactly why I do it.
- 35:06See, when you're running that many things, you can't afford to have your energy be inconsistent.
- 35:11Food is a foundation for energy, for sleep, for your weight, for recovery, for performance.
- 35:16And the days that I'm not paying attention to it, I feel it.
- 35:19The MyFitnessPal app makes tracking what you eat a non-issue.
- 35:22It removes all the friction.
- 35:23I just say what I ate.
- 35:24I can voice log it and it's done.
- 35:26Or I can point my camera at a plate with MealScan and it figures out what's there.
- 35:29I'm not sitting around entering ingredients.
- 35:31The app does the work for me.
- 35:33And it connects with over 40 fitness apps and wearables.
- 35:36So my training, my steps, my nutrition, it all goes to one place.
- 35:39One picture of what's happening instead of having to piece everything together or just go by feel or vibe.
- 35:44See, the whole thing takes seconds, not minutes.
- 35:46So go to podcasts.myfitnesspal.com and use code SCOTT, all uppercase, for 15% off My Fitness Pal Premium.

- 35:55And what happens when somebody is ambitious and wants it fast?
- 36:02That message will make it seem like it's completely out of their control.
- 36:05Yeah, because it is.
- 36:06Nothing is in our control.
- 36:11I feel like that is the hard part for human beings to surrender is it's not our will.
- 36:18It's God's will.
- 36:19He will give us what we need, not what we want always.
- 36:23And we have to just be okay with knowing that
- 36:27we serve a big God and whatever, for me, for example, every time, even when I didn't have a relationship with him, like I go back to thinking like, okay, everything that I've come out of that I've like sought out for God, it's always been bigger and better.
- 36:42Like, I didn't even think that I would ever be this, this entrepreneur that was never in my books.
- 36:46Like I thought I was just going to be on social media.
- 36:51make money online.
- 36:53I didn't think I was going to have this big brand ever.
- 36:57And so I always look back at that.
- 36:58Like God always has bigger plans that you have, you don't can't even imagine like your, your own self.
- 37:04And so I always believe that, that you might not see it right now, but God is going to give you what you need in the moment.
- 37:11not what you want.
- 37:12And, and we just don't know any better.
- 37:14Every time I thought I knew better, it's always, always, always just never gone the way that I wanted it to be.
- 37:21And it's been like pain and destructive.
- 37:23So now I'm just like, you know what, God, every time I've chosen your way, the hard way, it's always come out even better.
- 37:30So that's the hard part that people can't surrender and admit is like it, like his will is always better than our own will.
- 37:39It's interesting because when you see how that plays out in real life, when you don't quit something because it doesn't work out, when you don't hold on to it so tight, like you're just like white knuckling this thing that you're trying to make successful.
- 37:56And then what that means is, you know, the cliche, like, enjoy the journey.
- 38:00Yeah.
- 38:00Yeah.
- 38:01That's really what you're doing.
- 38:02You're not getting stressed.
- 38:03But ironically, when you enjoy the journey for long enough, it actually does work out.
- 38:09Because if you do something, I've said this many, if you can commit to something for like 10 plus years.
- 38:14it's really hard for it to like not work.
- 38:16Yes.
- 38:17And it makes you flexible.
- 38:20Like it's just human beings are just so fixated on like this specific vision.
- 38:24And this person's vision is so small compared to God's vision.
- 38:28And it's like if you can just make yourself flexible and just, you know, not take it so personal and that everything that's happening is,
- 38:34It's cliche is meant is for a reason like it actually is.
- 38:39That's actually what it is.
- 38:40Everything that happened, it happens is for a reason, bad or good.
- 38:44And you bounce back faster.
- 38:46It's not like you dwell in the darkness of like, oh, my God, I'm so like, I can't do this.
- 38:50Like, I'm I'm a horrible person.
- 38:52It's you bounce back faster when you have that mindset.
- 38:55I want to talk about money because you, one of the things that you've said, which I thought was really interesting.
- 39:00We're talking about all the things that people have relationships with God, which is a good thing to have relationship with.
- 39:05People have a relationship with money, not always positive, but one of the things you said is money is energy.
- 39:10It's a nervous system game.
- 39:12So what does that actually mean?
- 39:13Money is energy in terms of like, if you are scared to make money, it's going to run away from me.
- 39:20Like you're, it's not going to come to you.
- 39:21Okay.
- 39:21So to play devil's advocate,
- 39:23Who is scared to make money?
- 39:24Explain that to me because I never understand that.
- 39:26When someone's trying to build a brand, let's say, for example, they have to put themselves out on social media, but they have all these limiting beliefs of like, oh, no, I don't look right.
- 39:36Oh, my gosh, my hair.
- 39:36Oh, my God, did I say that?
- 39:37I sound so crazy.
- 39:38It's like there's so much fear inside of them that the energy is never going to come to them because that's going to translate onto the people.
- 39:48And so people feel that when you are like...
- 39:52trying to be someone that you're not because you're, I don't know, it's like a mindset thing where they, they're just overthinking everything.
- 40:01They're there.
- 40:03It's okay to be nervous, but it's also like you can tell when someone is just looking at, it's like they're very surface level.
- 40:10They don't want to go too deep because they're scared of like sharing too much.
- 40:14Yes.
- 40:15Fear of judgment, fear of being seen, fear of like,
- 40:19the camera anxiety of like how they look and how they sound like all of that repels the world from you you know and that's kind of like how i i i would explain the nervous system so a couple different ideas in that thought so the first one is you have to heal your relationship with money and believe that it's possible for you to make as much as you are on the journey to make um and and you know i i jokingly said like who doesn't want to make money but i feel like that's real because
- 40:49what I do for a living now and how much money I make, I never thought that was like a reality.
- 40:54I wasn't scared of money, but it wasn't... Because it was almost impossible for me to even be scared of it because I wasn't even conscious of what's like a potential reality.
- 41:04Okay.
- 41:05If that makes sense.
- 41:06Because it just wasn't in my... Like, I never thought you can make...
- 41:09It's not in your, like, vision of like, yeah, you're right.
- 41:12Well, no, because if you...
- 41:14Can you imagine everybody around you, you know what they make annually?
- 41:17Like their salary, right?
- 41:19So could you imagine making that in a month?
- 41:21For most people, that doesn't make any sense.
- 41:23And even that is what some people make in a week and a day and an hour.
- 41:28If we're talking about really, really, really, you know, successful people.
- 41:32So I think that...
- 41:35understanding what is possible is the first thing so it's not for me it wasn't even fear it was just like not real yeah yeah same with me when I first started I thought I'm like if I could just make a thousand dollars a month so that my ex I didn't have to rely on my ex-boyfriend and have him complain about whatever the money that he was giving me if I could just make a thousand dollars like that
- 42:00That's all I want.
- 42:01And then it became a reality.
- 42:03And then it's kind of like you start to believe the possibilities.
- 42:08But then the second thing you're talking about is you almost sabotaging your own success by staying surface level, making yourself smaller, making yourself play like this.
- 42:18you know, this game at a level that's never going to actually impact the world, which is what you're talking about, like with brand, when people like are scared about jumping on camera or something.
- 42:28So the first problem is you don't believe that the money is real.
- 42:31Like it doesn't make sense to you conceptually.
- 42:34The second problem is that you self-sabotage and you're afraid of it because...
- 42:39You fear judgment, you fear whatever.
- 42:41And I always say to this stuff is like, it's just, again, so self-centered and selfish of you.
- 42:47To think about yourself, like you are being used by God to impact this world.
- 42:52And that's kind of like...
- 42:53how I train my clients of like, this has nothing to do with you.
- 42:57You're being used by God.
- 42:58Like, let him allow you to let him, like, allow him to use you.
- 43:04And it has nothing about it has nothing to do with you.
- 43:07Like be messy, be, be, make the mistakes.
- 43:10Like, actually, that's what people want.
- 43:12That's more authentic than trying to be perfect on social media.
- 43:15And yeah, so...
- 43:18Do you think it's harder to make money or to fix like a scarcity mindset?
- 43:27It's harder to fix a scarcity mindset.
- 43:30I find that, I mean, if you fix that, then you can make money, you know?
- 43:34So it's harder to fix the scarcity mindset because it's a lot of deep, deep healing in our work.
- 43:42It's like all this subconscious trauma and limiting beliefs and these ceilings that... Yeah.
- 43:49And our reality is shaped... Because our reality is shaped by the people around us.
- 43:53You must have felt this even moving from...
- 43:55I know, like, I'm also Canadian.
- 43:56Moved down from, well, Toronto before I came down here, even though I wasn't raised there for most of my life.
- 44:01But moving from Toronto to Miami, it, like, completely alters your perspective on what's possible.
- 44:07Oh, yeah.
- 44:08Like, I came to Miami and I made even more money.
- 44:12I have no doubt saying everyone that comes to Miami.
- 44:15Yeah.
- 44:16So and it is true.
- 44:17Your environment is such a huge thing for you to it's for you to have success.
- 44:24Even though I was able to do it in Toronto, it was very hard here.
- 44:28You're just around people who think the same.
- 44:31It's hard to find that in my city in Toronto.
- 44:34So you have over 600,000 on Instagram.
- 44:36You have 160,000 on TikTok.
- 44:39UBC has over 57,000 students total, which is insane.
- 44:44This has been done through, you've done about 45 hours of training with UBC, is that correct?
- 44:52And I think 469 videos.
- 44:55You co-founded this with Dre?
- 44:57Okay, cool.
- 45:00So...
- 45:02All of this started from content.
- 45:05All this started from content.
- 45:06And this is like, I don't know what your revenues are.
- 45:09You can talk about them if you want or not.
- 45:11It doesn't matter to me.
- 45:14But I want to break down the business.
- 45:16And I also want to understand how, like, this is not a business that most people understand how to start.
- 45:21Like, how do you start a proper community?
- 45:24How do you consistently build that through organic social?
- 45:28How do you evolve that community into like what you're doing now with AI?
- 45:32So like bring it back.
- 45:33When you were starting this, you had no idea kind of what this was going to turn into.
- 45:37This wasn't like a formal business plan.
- 45:40Okay, so what was the start?
- 45:42Like, what was the first?
- 45:43This digital marketing space, like it was an era of like, what is it called?
- 45:49MRR, which is the Master Resale Rights.
- 45:51I don't know if you've ever heard of that.
- 45:53It was in the era of 2023.
- 45:57And for people who don't know, this is basically when somebody creates a product and you can take that product and resell it as your own.
- 46:03It's like white labeling.
- 46:04Exactly.
- 46:04Yeah, exactly.
- 46:06So that was taken over and it was disrupting all the online spaces, the affiliate marketing space, the network marketing space.
- 46:17And so I was like...
- 46:19Okay, I'm going to jump in on this.
- 46:21And I seen where there was a gap.
- 46:23And the gap was people were struggling to sell their digital product or their MRR product that gave 100% profit.
- 46:32They were struggling to sell this because they were like...
- 46:34well, I don't have the proof, like, because people were using their income, like, hey, like, I made this much money, like, look at my receipts and this and that.
- 46:42So people were like, but how are they doing this?
- 46:44Yeah, like, they're like, how are they doing that?
- 46:46I don't have the proof.
- 46:47So this is not going to work for me.
- 46:48And I'm like, no, they just had a brand from the past.
- 46:51So they had authority, they had influence.
- 46:53That's why they were able to sell the course and show the receipts.
- 46:57But so where does it come from?
- 46:59It comes from building a brand.
- 47:00It's just because you're a beginner, you don't have a brand.
- 47:02So there was a gap there.
- 47:03So I was like,
- 47:04So people starting out, we're looking at the people that have done it already.
- 47:08They already had the receipts showing success.
- 47:10The people starting out, the only way they thought they could market it was showing the income, the income, the results from the course.
- 47:17So it was to say, like, I'm just so people understand if people were doing like a social media management, which I think Tai Lopez was famous for originally.
- 47:27Right.
- 47:27He was telling, like, how do you turn into a social media manager?
- 47:31And then he'd show, well, this, you know, this student made 100 grand and blah, blah, blah.
- 47:35So if you wanted to do that and you wanted to sell a course to people on how to do this, the gap was, I have no proof that anybody who I've sold a course to has been successful.
- 47:46So nobody's buying from me.
- 47:48That was the issue.
- 47:49Okay.
- 47:50Exactly.
- 47:51So then that's when I was like, okay, the gap is teaching people how to build a personal brand.
- 47:56And so I remember telling Dre, I'm like, oh my gosh, this is like, this can be a game changer.
- 48:06digital marketing, selling a digital product.
- 48:10That was the marketing brand behind it all.
- 48:13And so we're like, okay, we're going to teach these people how to build a brand and we're going to slap the 100% profit on there for them to resell the program.
- 48:22But we're actually going to make them build a real personal brand.
- 48:25And so we did it.
- 48:26We literally put the course together in like four days and we launched it in seven days.
- 48:31And it was like,
- 48:32Me and Dre doing it and it didn't blow up.
- 48:37And so we started September 2023.
- 48:38It didn't blow up until February went mega viral, February of 2024.
- 48:44And we went from 700 members in February 2024 to 10,000 members in less than one month.
- 48:50And this is teaching people how to build a brand online.
- 48:53Yeah.
- 48:54And then from then, it just kept skyrocketing.
- 48:572024 was insane.
- 48:58But OK, so tell me why it went viral, because you were not the first people to teach somebody how to build a brand.
- 49:02No.
- 49:03One, because it was a no brainer product.
- 49:05So it was 100 percent profit.
- 49:08If you buy the course, you can resell it for 100 percent profit.
- 49:11You don't even have to.
- 49:13Make your own course.
- 49:14You can sell it.
- 49:15And the thing is, is our strategies were so good that they were working on people that they're like, oh, my God, this is working.
- 49:22So by default, they were already sharing it and they were making five hundred dollars by sharing it.
- 49:27And so it was like a win win for everyone.
- 49:30And, yeah, our strategies were so good.
- 49:32I started my account from scratch, the Jasmine's world to prove to people like this.
- 49:36These strategies work.
- 49:37I'm going to start an account from zero.
- 49:39And then I was showing people like my strategies through real time on a brand new account from zero.
- 49:45So you were teaching people the thing that you were doing for your social that was at the same time blowing.
- 49:49Yeah.
- 49:50Yeah.
- 49:50So I was kind of like leading by example in that way and not just talking.
- 49:55I was doing it with them.
- 49:57So I find that that was the thing that made people believe because I was getting in the trenches with them.
- 50:03I wasn't being the expert in teaching.
- 50:05I'm like, OK, I'm going to act like I'm one step ahead of you.
- 50:09And I'm going to do this with you.
- 50:10And I'm going to show you that you can grow an account from zero using the strategies from UBC.
- 50:16And so I did that.
- 50:18And then, okay, so then it blew up because we had one webinar and there were a lot of affiliates already having a lot of success.
- 50:25And we're like, okay, we're going to do one big webinar.
- 50:27Let's invite everyone onto this webinar.
- 50:29It was our biggest webinar we've ever had.
- 50:31We had 5,000 people.
- 50:34Dude, that's a big ass webinar.
- 50:365,000 plus 2,000 on YouTube.
- 50:40So we had 5,000 on Zoom and then 2,000 on... No ad spend.
- 50:46No ad spend.
- 50:47I have to make that clear because a lot of people think that it was like, no, I did not use any ads.
- 50:52I've actually only started using ads this year.
- 50:55Everything was organic.
- 50:57Everything.
- 50:58That's really, really impressive.
- 50:59Yeah, I know.
- 51:00A lot of people say that and they're like, no ads?
- 51:01No ads.
- 51:04It was the culture that we built inside of the community that is what made people come alive and really just have success.
- 51:11I mean, people, the beginners were making success.
- 51:14hundreds of thousands of dollars.
- 51:15Like we had one girl make a million dollars from our course, from selling our course.
- 51:21A couple of questions.
- 51:22First of all, how did you figure out social so well?
- 51:26Because that was like, like when I'm hearing this, okay, so yes, it was a smart strategy to get people to resell.
- 51:33But ultimately if the product sucks, no one's going to resell it or they're not going to make a million dollars.
- 51:36Exactly.
- 51:37So the product is strategy.
- 51:39And
- 51:39Everybody and their grandma has a social media strategy.
- 51:42Most of them don't work.
- 51:43So how did you figure out a strategy that worked so well?
- 51:49Well, I did myself first, of course.
- 51:51And then... How many people... Did you try other types of...
- 51:54I know your content.
- 51:55It's like you're teaching for 45, 60 seconds, podcast studio.
- 51:59That's the content that goes super, super viral.
- 52:02I've seen a lot of people copy your style now.
- 52:05But is that the first thing you tried?
- 52:08No, actually, I did not.
- 52:12So what I've always been really good with is connecting with my audience.
- 52:17So building a culture on my social media platform for people to be invested into me.
- 52:24Like they're like I made people feel like they were my best friend, like as if I'm like on FaceTime with them.
- 52:28And a part of that required a lot of vulnerability.
- 52:32So that's something that a lot of people struggle with is vulnerability.
- 52:34Again, it goes back to where does your validation come from?
- 52:37And so I had to really know that, OK, I'm going to be super vulnerable.
- 52:42I'm going to talk about.
- 52:44everything I went through, my relationship, and actually a lot of it was talking about that relationship and how I overcame it.
- 52:51And I attracted a lot of women who were also going through that as well.
- 52:55And so I, I, I built a space that felt safe for women.
- 53:02And so I find I found that that's how I built my social media platform at first, which is still the way that I build it now.
- 53:09But
- 53:12The other way that I did it was through back then stories and just going on live.
- 53:17I went on live a lot on Instagram and just like talking about my experiences, my perspective, and then tying it back.
- 53:23How I got out of it was through building a personal brand.
- 53:26And that's how people would get involved and just creating a safe space for people is is and it's vulnerability.
- 53:33It's like just putting myself out there.
- 53:35I actually put myself out there way more before than I do now.
- 53:39So like everyone knew everything about my life.
- 53:41Yeah.
- 53:42What made you confident enough to do that?
- 53:44Because I think that's rare.
- 53:45I think that I had nothing to lose back then.
- 53:48Like, well, I had success.
- 53:50But again, like I came from training myself from that level.
- 53:55rock bottom of not have nothing to lose.
- 53:59And so I was just kind of like, well, here it is.
- 54:01Like, I, I didn't really care.
- 54:04I actually care more about what people think now.
- 54:06It's, it's a battle that I have that I go back with than I did before.
- 54:10And it was because like, I just was like in survival mode.
- 54:13So I was like, just sharing and sharing and people were connecting with me.
- 54:16And then, and then I felt safe.
- 54:17Like I was like, Oh, I have a community of women that I feel good with.
- 54:22And, yeah, and then and then people like it would be to the point where if I didn't post one day on stories or reels, people would be like, are you OK?
- 54:30Is everything OK?
- 54:31I didn't hear from you today.
- 54:33It was an infectious brand.
- 54:35I named that for UBC is creating an infectious brand that people are really bought into.
- 54:41Outside of content that works, being super vulnerable, was there anything else that you can think of that made this brand like what it is?
- 54:52Yes.
- 54:54So, oh, okay.
- 54:55Brand or the program?
- 54:57Tell me the difference in your mind between the two, because I think that the program is part of the brand.
- 55:02So, I mean, the program is, for me at least, the way I understand it, like a very tactical way to create content, different topics to speak about.
- 55:10So, like, to get to 57,000 members, I did not do that myself.
- 55:14That was my, like, it was building a community that sold the program.
- 55:19So, I can't take credit, full credit over there.
- 55:22I just, I take credit.
- 55:24I'm really good at painting a vision.
- 55:27Paint a vision and tell people, hey, this is where I'm going.
- 55:30This is why I think it's important.
- 55:31And I think this is why it's important.
- 55:33It would be important for you.
- 55:34And I kind of like just share the vision.
- 55:36And I've always been like that.
- 55:37I did that actually right now with the AI program that I launched.
- 55:42And the thing is, is people need that.
- 55:44Like people, broken people, they just are trying to find hope.
- 55:48And I was that, I would call it a hope dealer, you know, and got people to buy into the vision.
- 55:54And they got results and they sold the program.
- 55:58And that's why we were able to blow it up.

- 56:07I have a question for you.
- 56:08When a buyer asks AI for a solution or a product that your business sells, does your business come up?
- 56:15The answer is that most companies have no idea.
- 56:19They don't know if their name shows up in any of the AI tools, chat, perplexity, clod.
- 56:26And by the time they find out, they have lost tons of traffic and tons of deals to someone who did show up.

- 58:00Monarch is a success story partner.
- 58:02Now, quick question.
- 58:03Do you know where your money went last month?
- 58:05Not roughly, but exactly.
- 58:07And most people don't.
- 58:07And I didn't for years.
- 58:08And that is most of our money stories, right?
- 58:11When we first start our career, we have one income and one account, and you can kind of wing it.
- 58:15But once you're running businesses, once you're investing,
- 58:17Once you're carrying 50 different subscriptions that you stop paying attention to, winging it gets super expensive.
- 58:23Monarch fixed that for me.
- 58:24It is the personal finance app that tracks everything.
- 58:27So that means accounts, investments, savings goals, spending all on one screen.

- 58:43without touching my savings.

- 58:58That's 50% off your first year at monarch.com with code success.
- 59:02One idea that you had is that when you're creating content, you don't need to be 100 steps ahead, just one step.
- 59:08So why is being one step ahead of who you're teaching the strategy?
- 59:13Um, because people cannot relate with the finished product.
- 59:18Like they're not there yet.
- 59:20So for even till this day, like, that's why I have to tell my, my story that happened six years ago.
- 59:26I still tell it, tell it till this day, because, um,
- 59:29People cannot relate to my life right now.
- 59:31They can relate to what happened to me six years ago.
- 59:34So I always, so that they can go back to, hey, I know I understand you.
- 59:38I see you because I was there too.
- 59:41But if I don't talk about that, they're going to be like, you have no idea.
- 59:43Yeah.
- 59:44what I'm going through right now.
- 59:45Like you're already in la la land.
- 59:46Like you've already, like you're a finished product.
- 59:49So that's why I always tell like beginners, like share your journey, just be one step ahead of your, of your audience.
- 59:56Actually, that's more impactful for someone who's looking up to that person than someone who's 10 steps ahead, because they think this person's like, like the person that's 10 steps ahead, they're an alien.
- 1:00:08Like they're, it's like, they can't relate to this person.
- 1:00:11So don't,
- 1:00:12sharing the it's like people want to be an expert immediately.
- 1:00:16It's it.
- 1:00:17That's where people go wrong about content.
- 1:00:19Like, stop trying to be the expert.
- 1:00:22Everyone wants to start off with like five tips on how to be successful.
- 1:00:26You haven't even been successful.
- 1:00:27Like we need to just pump the brakes a little bit and share your story as to why you got started, where you're headed and why you're doing this.
- 1:00:36That's the main thing that you need to do in order to connect with your audience.
- 1:00:40And
- 1:00:40I think that naturally when you're just one step ahead of somebody and you really show that you're just one step, I'm new here.
- 1:00:48And you're honest and real about it.
- 1:00:50Like, hey, I'm figuring this out just as much as you are.
- 1:00:56And I've been able to figure this part out about my life and I'm still working on it.
- 1:01:01That there makes people trust you even more because that's real.
- 1:01:05People have such a hard time with that.
- 1:01:07They do because they think that they need to they see the successful people and they're like, oh, they're like sharing all these tips.
- 1:01:12But it's like it's like the the conviction in someone's voice that convinces somebody like, hey, like, OK, like, yeah, I believe what you're you're you're you went through.
- 1:01:22Like you can't share life experiences or you can't share perspectives that you haven't been through.
- 1:01:28It's like it's just people can smell that when you're faking the funk.
- 1:01:32You know, it's it's in your voice when the things that you've gone through.
- 1:01:36That's why people can talk about certain things.
- 1:01:38Yes.
- 1:01:39But then the beginner is trying to copy this, the person that's like on chapter 20.
- 1:01:43And it doesn't come off the same because you haven't gone through that.
- 1:01:47You don't have your battle wounds like you can tell.
- 1:01:49Yeah.
- 1:01:51I feel like a lot of creators have that issue.
- 1:01:52Yeah, they do.
- 1:01:54But why do you think a lot of, because I think the real people that we're going to be teaching today would be people that are just starting out.
- 1:01:59They're not the big creators or the people that are just starting to kind of figure out how to create content.
- 1:02:03So why out of the gate do people feel like they have to be perfect?
- 1:02:08Is it, again, is it the selfishness you were talking about before?
- 1:02:11Or is it imposter syndrome and they're trying to cover that?
- 1:02:15Like, what is the thing?
- 1:02:17I find that...
- 1:02:21We are trained from such a young age, like we're programmed to like get it right once and we only have one shot.
- 1:02:28And that's what tries.
- 1:02:30It's like a mind, like it's a mind.
- 1:02:34I don't want to say.
- 1:02:35I know you're going to say it's a mind.
- 1:02:37But that like it messes with your mind because it's like, no, I got it.
- 1:02:41I got to be perfect.
- 1:02:42I got to make sure that my hair looks good.
- 1:02:43And it's just so toxic.
- 1:02:45And it's I just find that like people look at other people that already have the highlight reel and like they they have the perfect.
- 1:02:54the perfect studio, the perfect everything.
- 1:02:57And they're like, I have to be there.
- 1:02:58I'm going to skip the journey.
- 1:03:01I want to be there.
- 1:03:02And they try so hard to make it perfect.
- 1:03:05And I feel like though we're in an era where the audience are desensitized from the Lambos, the penthouse.
- 1:03:14They're so tired already.
- 1:03:16of this, of showing the big lifestyle, like the Lambos, the, the nice aesthetic.
- 1:03:23They're tired of that.
- 1:03:24Like, even for me now, I can't like, I, I try so hard to make my content as, uh, like, not like aesthetic as possible because the audience is so dis like, they're just so turned off, not turned off.
- 1:03:36They're just like, they've seen it enough.
- 1:03:38That was in 2020, 2018.
- 1:03:40It's not new to them anymore.
- 1:03:41It's not new.
- 1:03:42It's like just, oh, here's another video of somebody in a Lambeau preaching about X, Y, and Z.
- 1:03:48Well, you know, I think this is actually why streaming is so popular because streaming is just real and it's raw and there's no bullshit and there's no editing.
- 1:03:58And you just see somebody walking around a city dealing with all the regular bullshit that we all deal with walking around a city.
- 1:04:03And I think that's why people like these streamers so much.
- 1:04:06And that's why they actually get huge, massive contracts.
- 1:04:08And that's why that content does so well.
- 1:04:10Because it's like the most real.
- 1:04:12I agree.
- 1:04:12And it's you can't edit it.
- 1:04:14You can't.
- 1:04:15So it's it's crazy because we know this.
- 1:04:18Well, I like at least I know it.
- 1:04:20But other people know it, too.
- 1:04:22They're like they see it like going on live is like even going on live on TikTok.
- 1:04:25A lot of people do it and they have success on it.
- 1:04:27And it's like because it's real and raw.
- 1:04:29So why don't we try that?
- 1:04:31And it's because you have to be okay with yourself, with your real self, like knowing that you are not perfect.
- 1:04:38And you're not perfect.
- 1:04:39Like I I'm coming on this podcast like I usually do the mock podcast where it's a teleprompter.
- 1:04:44I'm reading off a script, right?
- 1:04:45Like word for word.
- 1:04:47And like I know that I have to like sit with like it's going to be not perfect.
- 1:04:51But these podcasts actually do the best for me.
- 1:04:53Like I I'll be saying ums and ahs and people are like she's real.
- 1:04:57She's not reading off a teleprompter for once, you know.
- 1:05:00And so it's crazy how people are just craving that authenticity more than ever in 2026.
- 1:05:06Yeah.
- 1:05:08So let's talk about what you're doing with AI.
- 1:05:09So the first advice to somebody who's creating content is to be more themselves, is to, you know, not... People say authentic all the time.
- 1:05:19And I think it's like an overused content word.
- 1:05:22Nobody really knows what it means.
- 1:05:22But ultimately, it's like just stop, like, gating part of yourself in your life.
- 1:05:27Like you can put it out there.
- 1:05:28Mm-hmm.
- 1:05:28It'll be authentic, it'll be raw.
- 1:05:29This is why we're talking about the streamers and why they do so well, because it's just them.
- 1:05:33There's no editing, there's no post-production, there's nothing.
- 1:05:37But people are still super scared of that.
- 1:05:39So I'm assuming what you're doing with AI content is to get people to start posting and get rid of some of the fear.
- 1:05:46Yes.
- 1:05:48How do you think, in terms of building an audience, how do you think AI is going to perform compared to the person doing it themselves?
- 1:05:57And it may not be perfect, but I'm a big fan of just do something.
- 1:06:02So I do think it's good.
- 1:06:03I'm just curious if it's ever going to be at the same level.
- 1:06:06I feel like somebody who uses AI as a tool will outperform the regular person that's trying to do it themselves.
- 1:06:16I find that...
- 1:06:20AI is advancing at a level that I can't even keep up with.
- 1:06:24Like there's, oh, it's always upgrading the, the AI softwares like the, like specifically for what I'm in AI avatars, like the cinematic AI videos, like,
- 1:06:35I've been in it for three weeks and there's already launched a new version of like real.
- 1:06:41If you go back to like looking at my first video I created, nothing compared to what it is now because it launched.
- 1:06:48They launched a new version that makes it even more real.
- 1:06:52So it's like people.
- 1:06:53Yeah, it's just like I feel like it'll.
- 1:06:57it'll outrun the people that are trying to do it on their own.
- 1:07:01Without ChatGBT, without any AI tools, like it's just, and there's a lot of controversy.
- 1:07:08A lot of people are like, no, no AI.
- 1:07:10It's just like, we need to get with the program,
- 1:07:14It's here to stay.
- 1:07:15It's not going anywhere.
- 1:07:17So let's use it for good.
- 1:07:18Let's use it to help us.
- 1:07:20Now, we're not making AI our entire identity too, right?
- 1:07:24We still, because some people do that.
- 1:07:25They like use chat and you can tell it's chatGBT and not you, you know?
- 1:07:30And so I always tell people like use it to amplify your ideas that you have or the vision that you have, like allow it to help you advance it and execute it.
- 1:07:40I think that the way, so the way you use it,
- 1:07:43Obviously, plug your socials, people check it out.
- 1:07:45But if they don't follow you, so you still post you, like real you.
- 1:07:50And then you use AI to do these tiny little stories, 90-second stories about parts of your life, too, that are kind of teaching the lesson that you're also talking about in your regular content.
- 1:08:01So you do a mixture of both, which that just means it increases your posting frequency and it allows people to learn a little bit more about your life and your story.
- 1:08:11So before I didn't see the the the AI branding as my thing, like I was like, no, I seen people do it.
- 1:08:18The podcast like how I'm doing it.
- 1:08:21Like and I was like.
- 1:08:23Man, like, this is not authentic.
- 1:08:26This is a fake person.
- 1:08:28So I was never convinced.
- 1:08:29And then finally, I had curiosity in it.
- 1:08:32And I was just like, all right, I'll look into it.
- 1:08:34I was not convinced until I seen, okay, cinematic AI videos and attaching it to storytelling.
- 1:08:40Now, we know that storytelling is a huge thing that connects people with your audience.
- 1:08:45And so now I'm like, oh, what if we do story showing, which is even better?
- 1:08:50better.
- 1:08:50Like, it's bringing people into your story.
- 1:08:54Instead of you just talking about it, you're showing them and you're making them feel something.
- 1:08:59And so I was like, that was like a light bulb, like, okay, we're going to use AI as a tool for people to help people tell their story and make it impactful, make it make it something that they've never even thought about, because it's a whole Netflix production studio.
- 1:09:13Yeah.
- 1:09:13And you could tell your story in a way that you couldn't, like you couldn't do the things that you're doing.
- 1:09:16You just brainstorm one, two, three.
- 1:09:19This is what happened in my life.
- 1:09:20Like show the outcome.
- 1:09:22And then the prompts that we have create an entire Netflix production video.
- 1:09:27I was just like, mind blown.
- 1:09:29I was like, this is going to change lives because we.
- 1:09:33People struggle with building a personal brand because, again, they tell tips and they don't tell stories.
- 1:09:38You tell the story first and then they will trust you enough to receive your tips.
- 1:09:45So now it's like, okay, but my story, like, I don't know if I want to tell it.
- 1:09:49I don't know how to tell it.
- 1:09:50Because you feel stupid turning on the camera and be like, okay, so this is where I came from.
- 1:09:55Like, you feel like an idiot.
- 1:09:56It's so much more comfortable to talk about, oh, these are like the five tips to, you know.
- 1:10:01Yeah.
- 1:10:02sell your product like that seems even though nobody gives a shit about that because who are you but that feels way more comfortable but again when you're like we we don't do things that are comfortable because if it's comfortable it's not going to work you want to do things that are uncomfortable that are are vulnerable and you're literally pretty much like vulnerability is like you being completely naked like everyone's seeing you for who you are and
- 1:10:26And so that's the people, that's the thing that people avoid.
- 1:10:29And it's like, no, but that's going to create the most impact.
- 1:10:31Like we got to take it out, like take the story out of you.
- 1:10:34And then people are like, well, I don't have a story.
- 1:10:36I didn't go through a rock bottom moment.
- 1:10:38No, go back.
- 1:10:39Think about the time, what created the person that you are today.
- 1:10:43You have a story just because you don't have like a, oh, I, uh, rags to riches story.
- 1:10:49Like it's, it's,
- 1:10:50Everyone has a story and AI will help you tell it in a way where it's compelling, a compelling story showing, not telling now, it's showing it.
- 1:11:00Since you started, so you've only started this for three weeks?
- 1:11:03Three weeks, yeah, yeah.
- 1:11:05We launched it three weeks ago, but we came up with the idea like a month prior to launching.
- 1:11:12You move quick too.
- 1:11:12Yeah, ASAP.
- 1:11:14I was like, if it were up to me, I would launch the next day, but we had to sort everything out.
- 1:11:20This is like the trait of a successful entrepreneur.
- 1:11:22You have to move, especially if you're talking about content or AI.
- 1:11:26It's like urgency.
- 1:11:27It's like somebody is going to steal this idea.
- 1:11:29I need to execute it.
- 1:11:30That's happened to me so many times as a beginner where I'm like, I have an idea and I'm like the limiting beliefs.
- 1:11:35And then after you're unmotivated because the limiting beliefs has taken over and then somebody else takes the idea.
- 1:11:39And then you're just like, damn it.
- 1:11:41I knew I should have done it.
- 1:11:43So now that always reminds me.
- 1:11:44And I'm like, no, I need to execute.
- 1:11:45People need to move quicker because like who cares if it doesn't work out?
- 1:11:48It's just people don't want to be seen trying.
- 1:11:51That's another thing.
- 1:11:52Another topic.
- 1:11:53Nobody wants to be seen trying because that's personal branding.
- 1:11:56You have to try out new things.
- 1:11:57Like I've tried out content styles that don't work for me.
- 1:12:01And I was like, OK, pivot.
- 1:12:02Let's do something else.
- 1:12:03You know, so, yeah.
- 1:12:05How's that?
- 1:12:06OK, so when you create these these AI and doesn't want like feedback from what you've seen, so they work?
- 1:12:11Yeah, they work to another level, I would say.
- 1:12:15Like, it's crazy.
- 1:12:16People are like, I want the next episode.
- 1:12:18Like, when are you launching the next episode?
- 1:12:20I need to make your episodes longer.
- 1:12:22Like, I've been there.
- 1:12:23Like, I'm going.
- 1:12:24I went through what you went through.
- 1:12:25And it's crazy because I've told this story a million times for the last six years.
- 1:12:30This is a story I tell always because that's what got me to where I am today.
- 1:12:34And it's like people hearing it for the first time because it's a new way of telling it.
- 1:12:38Well, showing it, you know, so.
- 1:12:40I think that sometimes as a creator, you think that people have consumed more of your content than they actually have.
- 1:12:48Yeah, it's true.
- 1:12:49And I talk about that, too, as I tell people, like, keep repeating yourself because you think people have listened to what you have to say.
- 1:12:58No, there's new people coming into your digital store friends, what I tell them with your Instagram and hearing you for the first time.
- 1:13:04So keep repeating yourself over and over and over again until it starts clicking for people.
- 1:13:11But the AI content that you were speaking about that you didn't like were creators 100% AI.
- 1:13:18I don't think that's the answer either.
- 1:13:20I don't think so.
- 1:13:20Yeah.
- 1:13:21Because I see those talking head AI videos.
- 1:13:24And what I notice is when somebody uses just AI to create somebody speaking like almost like a mock podcast style, two things.
- 1:13:34First, I think the platforms are trying to shut down those accounts because they don't really, really want to support pure AI content.
- 1:13:40Yeah.
- 1:13:41And secondly, I noticed that the creators of those AI avatars, they do their best to make them seem real.
- 1:13:49And I noticed they do things like they'll put like, like they'll instead of just posting, you know, like when we post stuff on social, it'll be like a full, like vertical reel of us chatting in front of a mic.
- 1:14:03But they'll like put like a frame on it.
- 1:14:05Then they'll put like a filter on it.
- 1:14:07Then they'll put like this big text on that.
- 1:14:08Then they'll put B-roll.
- 1:14:09They're trying to make it.
- 1:14:10Yeah, like as real.
- 1:14:12And they're trying to make it so that the person who's viewing it doesn't see that it's AI.
- 1:14:17AI, but no.
- 1:14:19No, we don't want to lie that it's not AI.
- 1:14:20That's what people are trying to do.
- 1:14:21They're trying to trick people.
- 1:14:22Yeah, that's crazy.
- 1:14:24And I think that's because as humans...
- 1:14:26We don't mind listening to Jasmine's story through AI because we know Jasmine.
- 1:14:31Exactly.
- 1:14:32But we don't want a fake person that doesn't exist.
- 1:14:35I don't give a shit about them.
- 1:14:37Yeah, yeah.
- 1:14:38Or let's say it's completely faceless because I also have clients who just want to be completely faceless.
- 1:14:45Okay, so put a story behind the character.
- 1:14:48So I know somebody that's doing it faces and she has a story, but she doesn't want to show her face.
- 1:14:54Okay, create the character and give it your personality.
- 1:14:58Share your story.
- 1:14:59Be vulnerable.
- 1:15:00But still, people don't do that with their AI content.
- 1:15:02They're just like creating the mock podcast and just saying what will go viral.
- 1:15:07Yeah.
- 1:15:07that's another thing.
- 1:15:08They're just saying things just to go viral.
- 1:15:10And it's like, it's still not connecting with your audience.
- 1:15:12So it's, they're still having a difficult time selling their products because people know it's not real.
- 1:15:18And it's just like, you're just sharing perspective shifts.
- 1:15:21That's it.
- 1:15:22And it's like, okay, well give a personality to the avatar, put a story behind the avatar and people will start connecting more with it.
- 1:15:29But yeah, it's a, it's, it's for me, I'm doing both.
- 1:15:33Like I cannot not show my face.
- 1:15:35By the way, what you just mentioned, perspective shifts, is that the secret to good content?
- 1:15:41Yes.
- 1:15:42The secret to good content is telling your story and perspective shifts, changing, shifting someone's perspective on the fear of being seen, for example, right?
- 1:15:52What's your perspective?
- 1:15:53How did you shift your perspective in order to overcome the fear of being seen?
- 1:15:58So it's like those, yeah, perspective shifts is the number one thing that I talk about with my mock podcast videos.
- 1:16:03People are putting energy into AI content.
- 1:16:05Obviously, it's working.
- 1:16:08Just mentioning how it's not a substitute for you.
- 1:16:12It's in addition to, right?
- 1:16:16What's the lesson when somebody wants to use AI content properly?
- 1:16:20It's like knowing that you are still the magic, like you're the one that's feeding, like you're still bringing in the ideas, the story and your perspective to and then making AI just make it better to to make people like to catch people's attention.
- 1:16:40How do you do it so that you don't turn your audience off?
- 1:16:42I guess is a question, because with AI, I could have a team of people creating content 24-7, 365.
- 1:16:46I could have 50 pieces a day.
- 1:16:49For me, it's still showing your face.
- 1:16:51Like still don't make it completely AI.
- 1:16:55Like go do a mixture of like you showing your face, talking about your perspective shifts and then mixing it in with AI.
- 1:17:03Like I feel like for me, it's because everyone uses AI avatar, like AI content differently.
- 1:17:08For me, it's storytelling.
- 1:17:09And then I will show myself and then storytelling and then I'll show my my real self.
- 1:17:13So the lesson is you always have to show up as yourself as a content creator, but you still have to like jump on new trends.
- 1:17:21I feel like the AI tool is a new way to catch people's attention.
- 1:17:24You know, it's interesting.
- 1:17:25Like even like what we're doing with the podcast.
- 1:17:26So the podcast is never going away.
- 1:17:28But I was talking to Matt before and I want to do like more street interviews and I want to do more stuff that catches people's attention.
- 1:17:35Like the street podcast, that's working really, really well.
- 1:17:40And I think that there's some formats that I think will always work well.
- 1:17:44Yeah.
- 1:17:45Like I think why street interviews work is because there's so much shit going on.
- 1:17:49Right.
- 1:17:50So you're paying attention to the person and things around them.
- 1:17:53And so I think it's about capturing and keeping people's attention.
- 1:17:58I mean, there has to be tension in the content, too.
- 1:18:00So the questions have to be interesting and what can be boring stuff.
- 1:18:03But street interviews is a format that's always worked.
- 1:18:06Right.
- 1:18:06Because it's so authentic.
- 1:18:07It's like, oh, what's going to happen?
- 1:18:09And actually, I got interviewed by the School of Hard Knocks Women.
- 1:18:14I saw that.
- 1:18:14Yeah, yeah.
- 1:18:15So she was telling me that the audience, that audience loves when she gets rejected.
- 1:18:20So she actually puts that out there, the ones that get her rejected.
- 1:18:24And they are just like, and then she did the street podcast with me.
- 1:18:30And people were like, wow, finally, someone said yes.
- 1:18:33Oh, my God.
- 1:18:33Stop.
- 1:18:34Because that's authentic, because it's real, because the fear of rejection is real.
- 1:18:38So you can relate with the average person like, oh, my gosh, she's actually putting herself out there and she's getting rejected and she's owning it.
- 1:18:45So like that is what authentic content is.
- 1:18:48I've created more content than most people on this planet outside of the people in our group of friends.
- 1:18:53Like I put out a ton of content.
- 1:18:55And I still don't feel comfortable going up to random strangers.
- 1:18:58Like this, this podcasting is like very safe.
- 1:19:00Like for most people, starting a podcast would be like, oh, I'm still putting myself out there.
- 1:19:05For me, this is like very safe.
- 1:19:07Like someone comes over.
- 1:19:09We agreed on this, but going on the street, you're getting rejected all the time.
- 1:19:15We've spoken about being authentic, about trying new trends.
- 1:19:20We've spoken about.
- 1:19:22Realizing that if things don't work, it's not you.
- 1:19:25It's just data.
- 1:19:28What would be your advice to a young content creator?
- 1:19:31They're committed to building a brand online.
- 1:19:35They have no idea what to do, where to start.
- 1:19:38What's the first thing they should do?
- 1:19:40Train yourself to not feed into your insecurity, meaning...
- 1:19:48You are not going to want to post that content because it looks cringe and it's uncomfortable.
- 1:19:54And so how I train my clients is I don't care how you feel that you're going to post it because I'm not trying to feed into your insecurity.
- 1:20:05I'm trying to get you away from it.
- 1:20:07So until we can overcome that, then we can look at how to become better and adjust.
- 1:20:14But I want you to become better and adjust while posting and taking action.
- 1:20:21I find that a lot of people, they create the content and it stays in their phone and collecting dust.
- 1:20:28And that's why people don't win.
- 1:20:30And I've just dealt with that so many times with people that they're just like, I just don't.
- 1:20:37I don't it feels cringe.
- 1:20:38That doesn't sound like me.
- 1:20:40And it's like, listen, I'm like, I'm going to need you to trust me because you you paid a lot of money, first of all, to for me to coach you and you're paying to get a different result.
- 1:20:50So that means you're going to have to try something different.
- 1:20:52And that is uncomfortable.
- 1:20:54So and I find that when they actually take action on it, it works.
- 1:20:59And they're just like, wow, it's just in my own way.
- 1:21:03And so I just like for the beginner creator is like, just get out of your own way and just be seen trying.
- 1:21:09And you're your own biggest enemy.
- 1:21:12So if you can overcome your own self by taking action and knowing that, you know, it's I'm standing in front of my own success.
- 1:21:21Like and if I can just overcome that and be seen trying, I think that that's the most beautiful thing that you can do for for your future self.
- 1:21:29Where can people follow you, connect with you?
- 1:21:32Where do you want to send people?
- 1:21:32We'll put all the links in the show notes, too.
- 1:21:34Jasmine's World.
- 1:21:36You can connect with me on Instagram.
- 1:21:39Yeah, that's what I take.
- 1:21:40Talk to you, but I'm mainly on Instagram.
- 1:21:42If people want to sign up and go through UBC, want to figure out a do way out, where do they go?
- 1:21:48They go into the link in my bio.
- 1:21:51Yeah.
- 1:21:52And right now it's on all my videos, CTAs.
- 1:21:55So the last question I want to ask is if you could give 20 year old Jasmine some advice, it doesn't have to be business, just life advice.
- 1:22:03What would it be and why?
- 1:22:04Everything that I'm about to go through is going to be exactly how it needs to be in order to become the woman that I am today.
- 1:22:11So don't be scared.
- 1:22:12Don't think that every failure that you went through is a failure.
- 1:22:16It's actually a success because I'm who I am today because of all the pain that I went through in my 20s.
- 1:22:23I started asking that question because I used to ask, like, you know, what would you do differently?
- 1:22:29And I don't think you should do anything differently.
- 1:22:33It's literally like I now go in running, running ahead into the difficult times because that's what really makes me who I am today.
- 1:22:42You know, so I just feel like people are just too scared and they're tiptoeing on on life and not trying to get uncomfortable.
- 1:22:49It's just not the way like it is.
- 1:22:52You know, you have to go through it.
- 1:22:54So, yeah, I don't regret anything.
- 1:22:56I think that everything that has me like that I went through has made me into the woman that I am today.
