- 0:41Speaker 2: In there visiting our future.
- 0:46Speaker 1: No, everything's safe. They're just in their room. It's just
- 0:49Speaker 1: the two older ones. That's their time that they are
- 0:51Speaker 1: allowed to have, like their whenever we have to record,
- 0:54Speaker 1: we that's their time that they're allowed to have their
- 0:56Speaker 1: little iPads and they love them, so they're more than
- 1:03Speaker 1: happy to go in there while we record. The baby. However,
- 1:07Speaker 1: she's twenty months old. She doesn't care that much about
- 1:09Speaker 1: an iPad. So anyways, but what was I gonna say? Oh, yeah,

- 1:27Speaker 1: we are late because Stu was doing an outdoor project.
- 1:31Speaker 2: We're gonna blame this on me.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Yes, I already blamed it on you. I've posted on
- 1:34Speaker 1: Instagram that's your fault.
- 1:35Speaker 2: What. Yes, this is shit that I don't even know about. Age.
- 1:38Speaker 1: You're a fault. You have an outish you.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Can't even finish right in the case until today because.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I did, there was no point. But there was no
- 1:45Speaker 1: out You had an outdoor project that need to be
- 1:46Speaker 1: done before the cold weather hits because he's painting some
- 1:49Speaker 1: concrete that doesn't need to be painted, but he's choosing
- 1:53Speaker 1: to do that anyways. So he's been working on that
- 1:56Speaker 1: the last several days, so we haven't been able to
- 1:58Speaker 1: record in the afternoons like we normally do in the
- 2:00Speaker 1: baby naps. Well, then here we are on Sunday, baby
- 2:04Speaker 1: went down for a nap. We finally had the free
- 2:06Speaker 1: time and the baby wouldn't nap. So this is late.
- 2:10Speaker 1: So my point was the Patreon will get the episode
- 2:13Speaker 1: today on Sunday, and then everywhere else will be on Monday,
- 2:17Speaker 1: and then we're going to try to get back on schedule.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Actually it's gonna be I'm just gonna tell you guys
- 2:21Speaker 1: right now, it's gonna be late this next week. We've
- 2:23Speaker 1: got to record on Friday because of this one's being late.
- 2:27Speaker 1: It's thrown off the whole situation. So we got to
- 2:30Speaker 1: record on Friday, So it'll be out Friday on Patreon,
- 2:33Speaker 1: Saturday everywhere else. And then, like we told Patreon, I
- 2:37Speaker 1: don't know if we might have mentioned it last week,
- 2:38Speaker 1: we are taking Thanksgiving off and then we will be back.
- 2:43Speaker 1: So Instagram, Facebook, TikTok. I'm only like three hundred away
- 2:48Speaker 1: from the big ten thousands to so everybody who listens
- 2:51Speaker 1: go follow me over there. And if you need to
- 2:54Speaker 1: create a TikTok account, let that Chinese government right on
- 2:57Speaker 1: into your life.
- 2:59Speaker 2: While you're at it.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Yeah, don't ever download the team app. I'm really questionable
- 3:06Speaker 1: at that because you get a discount if you download
- 3:08Speaker 1: the Team Weve app.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Well, that's the only way you can buy off a camo.
- 3:10Speaker 1: No, you can buy on the internet, but they say
- 3:12Speaker 1: you get you save like twenty percent extra few don
- 3:14Speaker 1: with the app, which I find very sketchy. Anyway, it
- 3:18Speaker 1: doesn't matter. They all have our lives we carry, that's
- 3:22Speaker 1: what you think. Yeah, it's over stew privacy is dead.
- 3:27Speaker 1: It's it's dead anyways. Yeah, so I guess we'll go
- 3:32Speaker 1: ahead and get into Like I said, we are on
- 3:35Speaker 1: borrowed time right now, guys, it could fall apart at
- 3:37Speaker 1: any moment.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I'lling apart right now.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Stuve's watching the baby camera. It's probably she's not quite
- 3:44Speaker 1: old enough to be at that stage. You know, she
- 3:48Speaker 1: really needs to be napping right now. She's not quite
- 3:50Speaker 1: old enough to just hang out with the other two.
- 3:55Speaker 1: All right, so we'll take a pause and we'll check
- 3:56Speaker 1: on the situation. We'll be right back. All right, we
- 3:59Speaker 1: are back. It's been about fifteen minutes, I.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Know, but they can all they were all just waiting
- 4:05Speaker 2: for fifteen minutes.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Yes, So all right, so let's go ahead and get
- 4:09Speaker 1: into this case out of Georgia, since we are on
- 4:12Speaker 1: borrowed time at this point. On February fifteenth, nineteen ninety four,
- 4:16Speaker 1: nineteen year old Claudet Physic spelled ficik stu, thank you.
- 4:22Speaker 1: She was an architecture student at Southern Tech University in Marrietta, Georgia,
- 4:26Speaker 1: was planning a head home to visit her parents in Trenton,
- 4:29Speaker 1: South Carolina. There was like a long weekend coming up.
- 4:32Speaker 1: She called her parents, Craig and Mary, to let them
- 4:35Speaker 1: know she was headed that way and that she would
- 4:37Speaker 1: be arriving around like four thirty ish five o'clock. It
- 4:40Speaker 1: wasn't that far as only a couple hours to back
- 4:43Speaker 1: to her hometown. She was very excited to see her
- 4:46Speaker 1: parents and even mentioned that she might be bringing a
- 4:48Speaker 1: guest for them to meet. Oh, you know, when Claudette
- 4:52Speaker 1: doesn't arrive at the expected time, they're not too concerned,
- 4:56Speaker 1: thinking maybe she got lost or something, because I guess
- 4:58Speaker 1: they had moved to an new home in that time,
- 5:02Speaker 1: and I don't think she'd been there yet.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Maybe something about the farm. She'd never been in a farm.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Yeah like that. So anyway, so they're like, maybe she
- 5:09Speaker 1: got lost. And again, this is nineteen ninety four, so
- 5:12Speaker 1: it's not like cell phones are the major are like
- 5:16Speaker 1: they are today back in late nineteen hundreds, yes, the
- 5:18Speaker 1: late nineteen hundreds. Anyway, so they're not too concerned at first.
- 5:24Speaker 1: They're thinking, maybe she got lost, maybe there's traffic, who knows.
- 5:27Speaker 1: So in the evening rolled around though, and there was
- 5:30Speaker 1: no sign of Claudette. Her parents they decided to get
- 5:32Speaker 1: in the car and go look for so they head up.
- 5:35Speaker 1: So they had someone manning the phones at the house
- 5:37Speaker 1: just in case she called they head up I twenty
- 5:39Speaker 1: and begin was it I twenty? That don't sound right.
- 5:43Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't Maybe I wrote IE twenty
- 5:46Speaker 1: because I was thinking.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Weird, Well, there's an eye twenty that goes, oh.
- 5:49Speaker 1: It does go down there. They're going to go all
- 5:50Speaker 1: the way across.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Yeah, oh Dallas halloway.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Ie forty, where you're gonna die. Apparently that's where like
- 5:55Speaker 1: the most women go missing. All is that I forty?
- 5:58Speaker 2: Really up in nor somewhere.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Yep. It's very remote, very like there's no lights or anything.
- 6:03Speaker 1: It's all wood. It's all there's large areas of all
- 6:06Speaker 1: like government owned land that no one's going on in
- 6:12Speaker 1: a normal like. Yeah. So I watched the thing. This
- 6:18Speaker 1: guy's like, this is where all the women get taken.
- 6:20Speaker 1: So he pulled over the side of the road to
- 6:22Speaker 1: show like how easy it would be if you broke
- 6:23Speaker 1: down on that at night, how dark it was. I know,
- 6:27Speaker 1: he was making me nervous being out there. He's like, yeah,
- 6:29Speaker 1: if you broke, if you're broke down the side of
- 6:31Speaker 1: the road here, he could be so easy to drag
- 6:33Speaker 1: you in the woods. It was literally like ten feet
- 6:34Speaker 1: away was this massive wooded area. Anyways, it was very scary,
- 6:39Speaker 1: so they head up on whatever interstate is over there
- 6:42Speaker 1: in that area, yes, and they begin checking all the exes,
- 6:44Speaker 1: thinking that she had probably broken down somewhere. I mean,
- 6:47Speaker 1: it's like it was not very many places she could
- 6:50Speaker 1: have been. So by the morning time, though, there was
- 6:54Speaker 1: still no sign of Claudette, so they contacted the police department.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Investigators interview claudettes family and friends. They did mention that
- 7:02Speaker 2: she might have been bringing a guest, but they did
- 7:05Speaker 2: not know who that person was supposed to be. K.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Yeah, they didn't. She didn't divulge names anything like that
- 7:12Speaker 1: or even like boyfriend.
- 7:14Speaker 2: She just kind of like, hey, but I mean I'm
- 7:16Speaker 2: bringing someone.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Yes, I mean, but if you're a parent, I would
- 7:19Speaker 1: think that you would know. But they the family was
- 7:23Speaker 1: extremely Catholic, which will come into play. So I don't know.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Maybe they thought she wasn't dating. I don't know what
- 7:29Speaker 1: extreme Well, no, after no, that's a different thing anyways. Yeah,
- 7:34Speaker 1: so I don't know. Maybe they they're real religious and
- 7:36Speaker 1: maybe they thought she wouldn't be dating, or they don't
- 7:38Speaker 1: think that way. I don't know. I don't know how
- 7:40Speaker 1: her families it was.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Not explained, No, what they're thinking was on the matter.
- 7:46Speaker 1: But if I was a parent and they said I
- 7:47Speaker 1: was going to bring some home for college, I would
- 7:49Speaker 1: assume it was a significant other.
- 7:51Speaker 2: It was a romantic partner, yes, of some sort.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Yes, could be boy, could be girl, we don't know.
- 7:59Speaker 1: But of a romantic partner of some sorts.
- 8:03Speaker 2: As long as it's human, huh.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Yes. We just needed to be human at this point.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Not a bob dog.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Not your dog, Steve, You're gonna are your horse or
- 8:13Speaker 1: something crazy. Exactly, it's human is the baseline.
- 8:18Speaker 2: While investigators are visiting her dorm and talking to her friends,
- 8:22Speaker 2: her friends informed the police that she had a boyfriend
- 8:24Speaker 2: by the name of Jason Ragland. Jason was supposed to
- 8:27Speaker 2: go with Claudette to meet her parents that weekend, and
- 8:31Speaker 2: one of her friends said that they were a very
- 8:33Speaker 2: happy couple and that they didn't see any issues between them.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Yes, because of course they were asking if this is
- 8:39Speaker 1: the person that's supposed to be with her she's missing,
- 8:42Speaker 1: did they have issues? Was it a bad relationship? And
- 8:45Speaker 1: nobody seemed to think that it was anything.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Just lovey dovey all the time, kind of like us. Yep,
- 8:52Speaker 2: all the time, lovey Devin, kind of like Steve Miller says,
- 8:55Speaker 2: lovey devid, lovey devy all the time. Okay, stop, no, no,
- 8:59Speaker 2: just go so you can. But I can't quote lyrics. No,
- 9:03Speaker 2: that's where we're at at. Friends did mention an ex
- 9:06Speaker 2: boyfriend by the name of Michael, and they said that
- 9:10Speaker 2: he was a little bit sketchy and that if anything
- 9:12Speaker 2: had happened to her they wouldn't put it past all
- 9:15Speaker 2: Michael and just throw the buzzer shade all over him.
- 9:20Speaker 2: When investigators are asking about the boyfriend and the ex boyfriend,
- 9:24Speaker 2: they're wanting to know just more about him, and how
- 9:26Speaker 2: did she meet them? Where do they.
- 9:29Speaker 1: You know, where can we find them?
- 9:31Speaker 2: Blah blah, all the good stuff, And friends tell him
- 9:34Speaker 2: that all three of them happened to working at a
- 9:36Speaker 2: pet store together, which seems weird.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Yes, seems like there could be some tensions.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Little tension, little sexual tension, and other animosity.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Possibly things like.
- 9:49Speaker 2: That, dudes having whatever relations with my ex girlfriend and
- 9:54Speaker 2: I got to see this all day.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yeah. So, while they were talking to friends and family,
- 9:59Speaker 1: they do get a report of Claudette's car being found
- 10:02Speaker 1: in Atlanta, and now the neighborhood that there was found
- 10:05Speaker 1: in was known to be a crime, high crime area,
- 10:07Speaker 1: So they don't believe that the car was there very
- 10:10Speaker 1: long because when they get there, the person who saw
- 10:13Speaker 1: it said, the keys are in the ignition, like, this
- 10:15Speaker 1: isn't an area the car would have definitely been stolen.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Had I think it was some guy that was maybe
- 10:22Speaker 1: towing cars or something in that area, He's like, yeah,
- 10:25Speaker 1: there's no way that if this car had been here
- 10:27Speaker 1: along with keys in it, that there's He's like, I'm
- 10:29Speaker 1: very familiar with this area, it would have been one
- 10:31Speaker 1: hundred percent.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Gone, gone and stripped down somewhere.
- 10:35Speaker 1: So when talking to some of the people in the area,
- 10:37Speaker 1: one of them said that they saw her walking around
- 10:39Speaker 1: with a woman named Ronda. However, they could never find
- 10:42Speaker 1: anyone named Ronda or back up the story in any way,
- 10:46Speaker 1: shape or form. It kind of just seemed like maybe someone.
- 10:50Speaker 2: In that area just wanted to bullshit the cops.
- 10:53Speaker 1: And it also it just wasn't an area of Claude.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Like I said, it's a high crime area. Claudette is
- 10:57Speaker 1: his nineteen year old architecture student this university. She's not
- 11:00Speaker 1: going to just go walk around in this hanging around
- 11:04Speaker 1: doing it.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Yeah, her description as architects student and very religious, so
- 11:13Speaker 2: there would be nothing down there in the form of
- 11:17Speaker 2: drugs or anything. The person who was talking.
- 11:19Speaker 1: About her was trying to indicate that she was, you know,
- 11:24Speaker 1: walking in the streets. Yes, and so anyways, the car
- 11:28Speaker 1: was found there. Claudette they don't believe had ever actually
- 11:31Speaker 1: been around there in the car. They don't feel like
- 11:32Speaker 1: it had been dropped off that long ago, so they
- 11:35Speaker 1: bring in the vehicle to be processed for any evidence.
- 11:38Speaker 1: While they continue to interview friends and family.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Investigators head over to talk to Jason, who is the
- 11:43Speaker 2: current boyfriend. He tells investigators that him and Claudette were
- 11:48Speaker 2: supposed to go meet her parents that weekend. Kara, Yes, now,
- 11:51Speaker 2: they spent all night together on Valentine's Days.
- 11:54Speaker 1: I remember the February fifteenth, that this is all going
- 11:58Speaker 1: to be missing.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Yeah, so Jason and Claudette spent the fourteenth together.
- 12:06Speaker 1: She spent he tells investigators. She spent the night that
- 12:10Speaker 1: night at his house, woke up that morning, and then
- 12:12Speaker 1: she had class or whatever had to leave. Yes, why
- 12:15Speaker 1: are you Why are you telling it to him? Why
- 12:17Speaker 1: are you why are you saying it like that to me, like,
- 12:19Speaker 1: would you like me to tell the story? Would you
- 12:20Speaker 1: like to know?
- 12:21Speaker 2: I don't know what you're doing? Okay, you think I
- 12:24Speaker 2: don't know what I'm talking about? What think? Yes? So
- 12:29Speaker 2: she leaves the house after they spent a romantic evening together,
- 12:32Speaker 2: possibly possibly not romantic. We don't know, No, it was.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I'm sure it was romantic if she spent the night.
- 12:40Speaker 2: So then she calls back to Jason. She's like, I
- 12:43Speaker 2: don't know why she We don't know why she's calling him.
- 12:45Speaker 2: But she calls him up and he's like, oh.
- 12:47Speaker 1: She called him up because they're making plans to go
- 12:50Speaker 1: make it.
- 12:51Speaker 2: What are you saying?
- 12:52Speaker 1: We don't know why she called him? She called it.
- 12:53Speaker 1: She goes to class. She's called him to confirm their
- 12:56Speaker 1: plans to head out that day to your.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Parents' house, and on to confirm she was calling to
- 13:01Speaker 2: make sure he was ready to go.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Yes, that's what I'm saying, like like, hey, you're ready
- 13:05Speaker 1: to go. We're leaving at this time, Like I'll be
- 13:08Speaker 1: over to picks.
- 13:08Speaker 2: You got all you stopped, righty coat? Yes, it's good.
- 13:10Speaker 1: I don't know why you said. You don't know why.
- 13:11Speaker 1: She doesn't know why she's calling, well, man, that's what
- 13:14Speaker 1: we assume. Yes, that's exactly what happened. He said, that's
- 13:17Speaker 1: what happened.
- 13:18Speaker 2: That's not what he told me.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Okay, whatever, just go on.
- 13:21Speaker 2: So he he all of a sudden got a cough,
- 13:23Speaker 2: a little tickle in his throat, and he wasn't feeling well,
- 13:25Speaker 2: possibly a fever and chills, and he's like, Claudette, I
- 13:30Speaker 2: can't go. I'm sick, and she's like, you're full of shit, Jason.
- 13:34Speaker 2: You just I just saw you. We just did it
- 13:37Speaker 2: last night.
- 13:37Speaker 1: You were fine last night, you're fine this morning when
- 13:41Speaker 1: I left, and now all of a sudden.
- 13:42Speaker 2: You're sick, too sick to go see my parents.
- 13:45Speaker 1: So she sold through. He was telling the police. She
- 13:50Speaker 1: got upset with him because she felt like he was
- 13:52Speaker 1: making it up, and then he told the police, yes,
- 13:56Speaker 1: I was making.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Yes, I was making it up. I was absolutely making
- 13:59Speaker 2: it up because I didn't want to be that serious
- 14:02Speaker 2: with this girl to go.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Meet her parents, because he knew she they were very Catholic,
- 14:06Speaker 1: So for her to bring someone home, which again is
- 14:08Speaker 1: like why they Maybe they didn't suspect it was a boyfriend,
- 14:10Speaker 1: because maybe she wasn't. I don't know, maybe she didn't
- 14:12Speaker 1: date a lot in high school, wasn't allowed to. So
- 14:15Speaker 1: this was moving it to a very serious state in
- 14:18Speaker 1: his eyes. From what are and probably from Claudette's size
- 14:21Speaker 1: as well. If she brings him to meet her parents
- 14:24Speaker 1: and she's very Catholic, she's expecting a marriage to be
- 14:29Speaker 1: coming on up pretty soon.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Right on the heels of this visit. Yes, the next
- 14:34Speaker 2: week he's supposed to get an engagement wing and propose
- 14:37Speaker 2: a wing. Woa too what It gets real dicey when
- 14:45Speaker 2: you got to meet to parents. You just don't know
- 14:47Speaker 2: what to expect. So police are like, hey, well what
- 14:51Speaker 2: happened after you lie to your girlfriend? And he's like, oh, well,
- 14:55Speaker 2: I went back to bed, woke up around two, and
- 14:57Speaker 2: then he said he went into the pet store and
- 14:59Speaker 2: he picked up a shift from three to ten, because
- 15:02Speaker 2: you know, being the manager of the fish department has
- 15:05Speaker 2: its post.
- 15:05Speaker 1: He was the manager of the fish department at the
- 15:09Speaker 1: pet store, so he could pick up a shift if
- 15:11Speaker 1: he so chose, or things like that. Investigators now head
- 15:16Speaker 1: over to the cat department to talk to my No,
- 15:19Speaker 1: I'm kidding, I don't know what department.
- 15:21Speaker 2: It was, the gurbile department.
- 15:23Speaker 1: But they can get you know, he was there, so
- 15:27Speaker 1: they go over there and talk to Michael.
- 15:28Speaker 2: They get a little caddy in between the departments.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Yes, he told investigators on Wednesday he was off that day,
- 15:35Speaker 1: but he was just at home by himself, so he
- 15:37Speaker 1: didn't really have much of an alibi per se. When
- 15:40Speaker 1: they asked about his relationship with Claudette, he said that
- 15:43Speaker 1: she had broken up with him when she began dating Jason,
- 15:47Speaker 1: and he didn't want to break up with Claudette, but
- 15:49Speaker 1: it was her decision. She made her decision. She wanted Jason.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Michael was out, the fish are in, the cats are out.
- 15:57Speaker 1: So here we are anyway, So even though it was
- 16:02Speaker 1: a hard he took it hard, like his feelings were hard,
- 16:05Speaker 1: obviously because he's the one being broken up with. He
- 16:08Speaker 1: said that they continue to work at the pet store
- 16:10Speaker 1: after that, because it wasn't like that serious of a thing.
- 16:13Speaker 1: You know, he was upset he got broken up with,
- 16:15Speaker 1: but not enough click but.
- 16:17Speaker 2: His job store.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Anyways. I don't know how easy it was to get
- 16:22Speaker 1: a job in nineteen eighty four. Was the economy good?
- 16:25Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Yeah, so I had a job in nineteen ninety four,
- 16:29Speaker 2: So you did.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Okay, Well, then it must have been pretty good.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Then Uncle Sam's misguided children was my employer.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Anyway. So they go and speak to a class mood.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Class moot, and you were making fun of me for
- 16:43Speaker 2: not being O I know that.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Store a classmate of Claudette. It's double standards, do Yes,
- 16:49Speaker 1: they go and speak to a classmate of Claudette who
- 16:51Speaker 1: had given her a Valentine's State card because they had
- 16:53Speaker 1: found this card in her in her room. Yeah, so
- 16:58Speaker 1: he said that he had seen her that day and
- 17:00Speaker 1: he spoke to her about her trip to South Carolina.
- 17:02Speaker 1: She said she was going. Everything seemed fine with her.
- 17:05Speaker 1: She must have been before she talked Old Jason about
- 17:09Speaker 1: him being sick. Yes, Now investigators are suspicious of the
- 17:12Speaker 1: classmate because he was the last one to have seen her.
- 17:14Speaker 1: So that's kind of a red flag. And he appears
- 17:18Speaker 1: that the Valentine's Day card was more one sided. He
- 17:22Speaker 1: had a crush on Claudette. She was nice to him,
- 17:26Speaker 1: but obviously she had a pretty serious boyfriend, or so
- 17:29Speaker 1: she thought at the time. Now, with this information, investigators
- 17:33Speaker 1: put both the ex boyfriend the classmate and the boyfriend
- 17:37Speaker 1: the current boyfriend on their radar. Of potential suspects.
- 17:42Speaker 2: As the police are looking into this case and their
- 17:45Speaker 2: investigating doing their thing, words starts getting out into the
- 17:49Speaker 2: news that Claude d is missing. Shortly after that, they
- 17:52Speaker 2: receive a hand delivered note from I don't know who,
- 17:57Speaker 2: doesn't remember who hand delivered the note.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Okay, hand delivered me, meaning someone probably just dropped it
- 18:01Speaker 1: off outside the station. Stew. Nobody handed it over. It's
- 18:06Speaker 1: hand delivered, meaning it didn't come for the mall. There's
- 18:08Speaker 1: no postage or anything to track the person. Someone left
- 18:11Speaker 1: it at the police station. That's hand delivered. Stew. It
- 18:14Speaker 1: doesn't mean hand to hand delivered. I didn't say.
- 18:17Speaker 2: That's signed for it. No. Now, in this note there's
- 18:20Speaker 2: a map, and this map is stating where Claudette's body
- 18:25Speaker 2: is in Dallas, Georgia. Police take the map. They search
- 18:29Speaker 2: this area that's on the map. It's very wooded, it's
- 18:32Speaker 2: very muddy. It takes a couple of days and nope,
- 18:34Speaker 2: and they just don't find anything. After that search is complete,
- 18:38Speaker 2: a few days later, they received another hand drawn map
- 18:43Speaker 2: basically covering the same area, saying that's where Claudette's body is.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Low It was a little bit more detailed drink map,
- 18:51Speaker 1: but it was in the same vicinity, so they were
- 18:55Speaker 1: thinking maybe the person you know, was like, Okay, they
- 18:57Speaker 1: didn't find it, I need to draw that maps.
- 19:00Speaker 2: They were thinking that's what the killer was thinking.
- 19:02Speaker 1: You think that's what the police were thinking. The killer
- 19:04Speaker 1: was thinking, oh do gotcha?
- 19:07Speaker 2: Wondering if someone is just messing with them or if
- 19:10Speaker 2: this is real information. Police decided they still need to
- 19:13Speaker 2: go and investigate this location again, so this time they
- 19:17Speaker 2: bring dogs and they brought in additional help from the
- 19:20Speaker 2: sheriff's department in the area, but they still could not
- 19:23Speaker 2: find anything.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Meanwhile, the boyfriend and classmate had both agreed to take
- 19:27Speaker 1: a polygraph test. The ex boyfriend was like, nah, I'm good,
- 19:31Speaker 1: and unless they're going to bring in and they don't
- 19:34Speaker 1: have any they don't have enough on any of them
- 19:36Speaker 1: to really draw up a case at this point, so
- 19:39Speaker 1: all they can do is kind of have what they're
- 19:40Speaker 1: going to give them. So the investigators got the results
- 19:43Speaker 1: back and the boyfriend passed, which we all you know, bullshit,
- 19:48Speaker 1: but anyways, the boyfriend passed, while the classmate failed at
- 19:52Speaker 1: one of the questions, saying that he harmed he didn't
- 19:56Speaker 1: harm Claude dead or whatever. So they go back and
- 20:00Speaker 1: they interview the classmate three or four more times. At
- 20:03Speaker 1: this point they were like, yeah, and the GBI is
- 20:05Speaker 1: involved at this point, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. So
- 20:10Speaker 1: investigation Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Okay, it's like the FBI, but for Georgia.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Okay, yes, I know that Georgie. I don't know. Investigation
- 20:17Speaker 1: didn't sound right at the end for some reason, I
- 20:19Speaker 1: don't know. Anyway, so they're like, yeah, he passed. The
- 20:23Speaker 1: boyfriend passed the light detector test, so we were like, oh,
- 20:26Speaker 1: he probably didn't do it. So they go like, harden
- 20:28Speaker 1: on this classmate, and they're thinking, he's like this possessive
- 20:32Speaker 1: guy that you know, maybe Claudette didn't reciprocate. He tried
- 20:36Speaker 1: to advance with her and then something happened.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Just had a crash.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Huh, yeah, he just had a little crush, gave a
- 20:43Speaker 1: little Valentine. I mean, these are basically kids. They're nineteen eighteen,
- 20:48Speaker 1: nineteen year old kids at the college and stuff like that.
- 20:52Speaker 1: So anyways, so he and like you said, he was
- 20:54Speaker 1: also the last one to see Claudette. So they really
- 20:57Speaker 1: like hammering on him and he tells them like, no, emphatically,
- 21:01Speaker 1: I did not harm claud It. They don't really have
- 21:03Speaker 1: anything else to go on, so they kind of have
- 21:05Speaker 1: to move on from him right now, but he's definitely
- 21:08Speaker 1: still in the mix and he might be their number
- 21:11Speaker 1: one suspect. At this point. They continue to look into
- 21:15Speaker 1: that those maps because that's kind of all they have
- 21:17Speaker 1: right now is the maps because they have no body.
- 21:19Speaker 1: They have her vehicle, which they have looked through, but
- 21:22Speaker 1: they didn't really find anything, So now they've just got
- 21:25Speaker 1: these maps which might lead back to the person who
- 21:27Speaker 1: did this. However, as they're looking around, they find out
- 21:31Speaker 1: that this happened to another sheriff's department, that someone was
- 21:36Speaker 1: turning in false maps to a locate a body or
- 21:39Speaker 1: locate a crime. So they look into it and they're
- 21:42Speaker 1: pretty sure that the person who did that is also
- 21:46Speaker 1: sending them the maps because the maps were located in
- 21:49Speaker 1: the vicinity of that person's house. That man's house, so
- 21:52Speaker 1: he was probably just sitting they're sitting there.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Watching them, sending there with the binoculars, watch.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Like he just gets off on this, like fucking what people, yes,
- 22:00Speaker 1: specifically the police, So they didn't have enough to charge demand.
- 22:04Speaker 1: But they at this point were like, Okay, these maps
- 22:06Speaker 1: were just false leads and to throw us off or
- 22:09Speaker 1: just waste wasting time.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Investigators finally do get a major break once some people
- 22:16Speaker 2: kayaking in a river came across a female body and
- 22:20Speaker 2: a river in Athens, Georgia.
- 22:21Speaker 1: It's the o'connee River. It's spelled oco Inee, so if
- 22:26Speaker 1: you're from that area. But it's a big river in Georgia.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I think it's like two hundred miles long.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Two hundred miles yeah, I think so that's a big river.
- 22:36Speaker 1: It's two hundred and twenty mile long river in Georgia
- 22:39Speaker 1: that originates in Hall County and flows south to join
- 22:42Speaker 1: the Alkmalgi River to form the altamaw Haw River. It
- 22:47Speaker 1: is a significant waterway for recreation with greenways, parks and
- 22:50Speaker 1: camping areas along its banks.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Thank you Wikipedia.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Actually that's oh, that is from that is from Wikipedia.
- 22:58Speaker 2: The body was tied up and it was weighted down
- 23:01Speaker 2: with a boat anchor and angle iron and tied up
- 23:05Speaker 2: with nylon rope. Investigators from Cobb County quickly heard about
- 23:10Speaker 2: the body being found. They went over and they did
- 23:13Speaker 2: identify it as Claudette. Based on the ietops, she had
- 23:16Speaker 2: appeared she had died six weeks earlier, and that she
- 23:19Speaker 2: had died from asphyxiation and then was disposed of in
- 23:22Speaker 2: the river.
- 23:23Speaker 1: There was also other damage to her, but it was
- 23:26Speaker 1: hard to tell exactly what went what happened because of
- 23:32Speaker 1: the because of the decomposition of her having been in
- 23:35Speaker 1: the river for that long period of time. So uh,
- 23:40Speaker 1: it was hard to tell exactly. But from what from
- 23:42Speaker 1: what I read and found could look up, it's appeared
- 23:45Speaker 1: that asphyxiation was what they believed. They do believe that
- 23:48Speaker 1: she was murdered prior to being thrown in the river.
- 23:53Speaker 2: She didn't go in a love Yeah. Now investigators don't
- 23:57Speaker 2: have much more to go on in terms of fifth
- 24:00Speaker 2: physical evidence.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Like I just said, stuck, yes, yes, I skipped ahead.
- 24:05Speaker 1: They don't have much fit. Like I said, the body's
- 24:06Speaker 1: in a bad shape. It's been in water for six weeks.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I mean, it's just it's not a good thing for
- 24:12Speaker 1: any evidence.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Especially in a southern state like Georgia, Mississippi, because it
- 24:16Speaker 2: is February.
- 24:18Speaker 1: However, you could get a warm spell every once in
- 24:21Speaker 1: a while. It ain't guaranteed. It's going to be like here,
- 24:24Speaker 1: we had this warm even all the way up here
- 24:27Speaker 1: in West Texas. We just had three or four days
- 24:30Speaker 1: of eighty degree weather out of nowhere from it being
- 24:33Speaker 1: in the forties to now eighties. That's why stew was
- 24:36Speaker 1: busy with his project.
- 24:37Speaker 2: That's why I'm busy with my project. Gotta get it
- 24:39Speaker 2: done well. In my defense, in the summertime, it's too hot,
- 24:43Speaker 2: it's outside the temperatures the other way, Yes.
- 24:45Speaker 1: This is an extreme.
- 24:46Speaker 2: It's got to be be climate fifty and ninety degrees
- 24:49Speaker 2: fahrenheit to apply this.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Yes, and so that's only happens it's not spring and fall, yes,
- 24:55Speaker 1: around here, because it's easily over ninety degrees all the time.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Getting back to her story, I.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Mean it was over ninety degrees like two weeks ago,
- 25:03Speaker 1: three weeks ago. I was like, what the fuck? Why
- 25:06Speaker 1: can't it just get cold?
- 25:07Speaker 2: Like, why does it have to be It needs to
- 25:09Speaker 2: be cold so I can plan my tropical vacation to Mexico.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Okay, that was a wild hair. I backed off from it.
- 25:18Speaker 1: I don't know why you were on board. I said, hey,
- 25:20Speaker 1: hear me out, And all of a sudden I brought
- 25:22Speaker 1: up Spirit Airlines and you were.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Like, yeah, I'll do it. No, I haven't said that.
- 25:26Speaker 2: I'd be like, I don't know.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Okay, well, Spirit Lines it was two hours and twenty
- 25:30Speaker 1: minute flight from Dallas. It was so we were gonna
- 25:32Speaker 1: be able to get for one thousand dollars a flight
- 25:35Speaker 1: from from Dallas to so we would have to drive
- 25:37Speaker 1: to Dallas to Cancun for one thousand dollars for five people.
- 25:41Speaker 1: That's like a really good deal. It's a two hour
- 25:42Speaker 1: and twenty minute flight. What do we need? What do
- 25:46Speaker 1: we need?
- 25:47Speaker 2: Private airplane?
- 25:48Speaker 1: And then if you fly from actually here, it was
- 25:50Speaker 1: like two thousand dollars and you can only do it
- 25:51Speaker 1: with like American or United it was way more.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Well, how much is the drive in the hotel room
- 25:55Speaker 2: going to cost us?
- 25:56Speaker 1: Well, the drive's not gonna Yeah, the drive's not gonna
- 25:59Speaker 1: cost any thing. And then we have one hundred it's
- 26:01Speaker 1: not okay, nobody wants to hear about this.
- 26:04Speaker 2: This is.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Nonsense. Okay, they probably don't even want to hear.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Well, I was trying to get back to our story. However,
- 26:10Speaker 2: you wanted to continue on down the path, All right, go,
- 26:14Speaker 2: can you even men? I was right, No, since police
- 26:19Speaker 2: are finding all this nylon. Where was I the pieces
- 26:25Speaker 2: that were used to weigh her down.
- 26:28Speaker 1: The angle iron, the angle iron specifically was a key
- 26:33Speaker 1: one because an angle iron is what they use in construction.
- 26:37Speaker 1: It's like a steel yes, angle yes, So that that
- 26:43Speaker 1: stuck out to them as odd.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Since two of the top suspects are basically their only
- 26:49Speaker 2: suspects work at the fish store. They start there, not.
- 26:53Speaker 1: They're only the classmate is done. It's not work at
- 26:55Speaker 1: the fish store. I forgot and he felt the polygraph
- 26:57Speaker 1: and so it's stupid GBI. Back in nineteen ninety four,
- 27:00Speaker 1: I guess thought that that was the be all Induls.
- 27:02Speaker 2: The all end Alls bring them in boys. Anyway, they
- 27:06Speaker 2: started looking around the pet store to see if anything
- 27:08Speaker 2: matches in the stuff that they found with Claudette. Now,
- 27:13Speaker 2: the angle iron is used in construction, and nearby the
- 27:16Speaker 2: pet store is a construction zone, Cara, if you can
- 27:20Speaker 2: believe it.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Yes, I can believe that's too.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Now they walk over there to see if anything matches,
- 27:25Speaker 2: and they talked to the construction foreman. He identifies the
- 27:28Speaker 2: angle iron as coming from there based on the number
- 27:33Speaker 2: printed on the inside of the piece of steel.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Yeah, they had that exact because I guess there's different
- 27:37Speaker 1: designs can be for the like different links, different everything
- 27:41Speaker 1: that one they were using was specifically used at that
- 27:43Speaker 1: construction site. And then he's they're all printed I guess
- 27:46Speaker 1: in a seria or I don't know how they're I.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Guess they got a lot number printed on him.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Yeah, and he's like, oh, yeah, this is part of
- 27:53Speaker 1: that lot. But if they're buying, if they're in the
- 27:55Speaker 1: construction business, that because they probably buy things in bulk
- 27:58Speaker 1: and things like that.
- 27:58Speaker 2: So yeah, I mean, I don't know if every site
- 28:01Speaker 2: gets its own lot number or something so that they
- 28:03Speaker 2: know what piece of it might if there's a warranty or.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Or an issue or something issue or something. If you're
- 28:09Speaker 1: buying enough.
- 28:10Speaker 2: You get I guess if you're in the wholesale angle
- 28:12Speaker 2: iron business, you can let us know. After they show
- 28:17Speaker 2: him the piece of steel, they show him pictures of
- 28:20Speaker 2: Claudettes coworkers, which are the ex boyfriend and the boyfriend,
- 28:25Speaker 2: and he recognizes the boyfriend as someone who has been
- 28:28Speaker 2: over to borrow bricks or taking bricks or things like
- 28:32Speaker 2: that to use in the pet store.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Yeah. For I don't know, the fish need a brick
- 28:37Speaker 1: or rocks is what I was thinking was like maybe
- 28:39Speaker 1: for their little their little aquariums or things like that.
- 28:44Speaker 1: But he had come over there and he had seen him.
- 28:46Speaker 1: He had frequented the construction.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Like he was out there scavenging things.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Yes, so this is like, okay, this is a red flag.
- 28:54Speaker 1: This is we might have our Even though he passed
- 28:56Speaker 1: his polygraph, it can be him he passed. Now with
- 28:59Speaker 1: this information, they were able to obtain a search. Weren't
- 29:02Speaker 1: for Jason's apartment. Now in the time since Claudette had disappeared,
- 29:05Speaker 1: he had moved in with relatives. But they were able
- 29:08Speaker 1: to go to that old apartment and it actually was
- 29:10Speaker 1: near where the body was found, and they searched this apartment. Well,
- 29:15Speaker 1: upon searching, they find that there are bloodstains under the carpet.
- 29:21Speaker 1: But that's because when they go in there, they're like,
- 29:23Speaker 1: wait a minute, this looks like new carpet. So someone
- 29:26Speaker 1: had put down new carpet and underneath they used luminol
- 29:29Speaker 1: and they could see like massive amounts of blood. And
- 29:32Speaker 1: then they were able to pull that and they were
- 29:35Speaker 1: able to test it and match it up with Claudet.
- 29:39Speaker 1: So with this information they were able to on April eleventh,
- 29:42Speaker 1: nineteen eighty four, since was just not that. About two
- 29:45Speaker 1: months after Claudette went missing, they were able to arrest
- 29:49Speaker 1: Jason Raglan for the murder of Claudet. Now on top
- 29:52Speaker 1: of charging him with the murder for Claudette. We haven't
- 29:55Speaker 1: told you guys this part yet.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Tell me.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Whenever they were performing the autopsy, they he did find
- 30:00Speaker 1: out that Claudette was four months pregnant. So he is
- 30:03Speaker 1: being charged with both murders. Now, they the case would
- 30:08Speaker 1: never go to trial. They go back and forth, and
- 30:11Speaker 1: they've decided. He decides to plea out because he wants
- 30:13Speaker 1: to avoid the death penalty. So he pleas out and
- 30:16Speaker 1: on August in August of nineteenninety six, he pleads guilty
- 30:19Speaker 1: to the murder of Claudette as well as the unborn child,
- 30:23Speaker 1: and he is sentenced to life in prison. So investigators
- 30:27Speaker 1: believe what happened. He's Claudet's getting serious about that.
- 30:31Speaker 2: So he didn't say anything. What do you mean he
- 30:34Speaker 2: didn't say anything in his Playdell. This is all speculational, Yes.
- 30:37Speaker 1: This is what they believe happened or whatever, because, like
- 30:40Speaker 1: we said, we've talked about with this whole Brian coburger thing.
- 30:43Speaker 1: It apparently it can be required that they say something.
- 30:46Speaker 1: But again, but we've seen that one's where they that
- 30:49Speaker 1: one we did when he put this girlfriend in the
- 30:51Speaker 1: trash compactor or whatever. It's all just like lies.
- 30:55Speaker 2: She fell out once she a heart attack.
- 30:57Speaker 1: He said she fell and hit her head and he
- 30:58Speaker 1: didn't panic, didn't know what to do. Anyways, they believe
- 31:01Speaker 1: what happened was Claudette is because she was only four
- 31:05Speaker 1: months pregnant, so she probably wasn't showing or anything like
- 31:07Speaker 1: that anyway, so she they believe what happened was she
- 31:11Speaker 1: spent Valentine's Day with him, and then they had plans
- 31:13Speaker 1: to go home to see her parents, and then that's
- 31:15Speaker 1: when she or she they believe that she told him
- 31:18Speaker 1: she was pregnant. He's like panicking a little bit. That's
- 31:23Speaker 1: why she's like, you need to come home meet my parents.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Like we're gonna have to get married. I'm Catholic, Like
- 31:28Speaker 1: we can't, this can't. We can't have this baby out
- 31:30Speaker 1: of wedlock.
- 31:31Speaker 2: So in the time bad enough that we're gonna be Yeah,
- 31:34Speaker 2: we're gonna.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Have to lie about the birthday or lie about we're.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Gonna have We're gonna have to move the wedding date
- 31:38Speaker 2: or the birthday of the child around.
- 31:40Speaker 1: The baby's either gonna be premature, a nine pound premium.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Or or we were married five months ago.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Yes, so she tells him this, and that's why they
- 31:49Speaker 1: believe he was going home to meet the parents, because
- 31:52Speaker 1: this has gotten very serious, very quickly. Well, then whenever
- 31:56Speaker 1: she goes to confront him after he says he's not
- 32:00Speaker 1: gonna go, do we even know if this happened, Uh, well,
- 32:04Speaker 1: we don't know, but that's what they're just having to
- 32:06Speaker 1: They believe she confronted him again, and whenever he tried
- 32:09Speaker 1: to back out of going, like maybe she didn't call him,
- 32:11Speaker 1: maybe she went and talked to him in person, he
- 32:13Speaker 1: got upset and he decides to kill her, and then
- 32:17Speaker 1: he has to dispose the body. So he takes her
- 32:20Speaker 1: to this river and dumps her in it, and then
- 32:22Speaker 1: dispose of her car in this neighborhood, probably hoping it
- 32:24Speaker 1: does get stolen because he left the keys in it,
- 32:27Speaker 1: and then that didn't happen.
- 32:28Speaker 2: And then whenever they find out somebody with the car,
- 32:30Speaker 2: that person gets.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Yeah, or they never find the car, and then they
- 32:33Speaker 1: never find the body. And what happened. Was it rained
- 32:35Speaker 1: a lot, and that's why they believe the body was
- 32:38Speaker 1: able to float to the surface. Things just got there
- 32:41Speaker 1: was a lot of rushing wood, yeah, in the river yep.
- 32:45Speaker 1: So anyway, so we were talking about this, I'm like,
- 32:47Speaker 1: this is like absolutely insane. So your solution, because you
- 32:51Speaker 1: don't want to marry this girl that's now pregnant with
- 32:53Speaker 1: your child, is to kill her, like there are other options.
- 32:58Speaker 1: It always just baffles me that this is what goes
- 33:00Speaker 1: through these people's heads that they're just going to go
- 33:02Speaker 1: to like, well, I'll just murder them. It'll be fine,
- 33:04Speaker 1: I'll get away with it. I've never done this before.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Other people that get caught or stupid.
- 33:09Speaker 1: I'm a manager oft at the fish department at the
- 33:12Speaker 1: pet store.
- 33:12Speaker 2: I mean, as I am, I know what these fish think. Yeah,
- 33:16Speaker 2: they told me how to get rid of a body. Okay,
- 33:20Speaker 2: what help out because I'm a manager at a fish department.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Anyways, That's not what I was thinking. But it just
- 33:27Speaker 1: like I feel like he was like, well, I'm needed
- 33:29Speaker 1: to manager at the fish department at this pet store
- 33:31Speaker 1: and I'm only like twenty something years old, so I'm
- 33:34Speaker 1: brilliant figure this out. Anyways. It's just like there are
- 33:38Speaker 1: other options. You can just like not be involved or
- 33:41Speaker 1: as I mean, it sounds bad, but it's better than
- 33:43Speaker 1: like killing them is like then you're going to just
- 33:46Speaker 1: have to be an irresponsible, shitty dad and walk away.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Yeah, you can just sign away rights and move on.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Yeah that sounds terrible, store, but it's better than like
- 33:57Speaker 1: there's other the same thing as like these men that
- 34:00Speaker 1: don't want to divorce their wives.
- 34:01Speaker 2: It's like just it would look bad in my family
- 34:06Speaker 2: or my religion, or it.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Would be better to kill somebody.
- 34:09Speaker 2: It's just get away with it.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Yeah, like that one lady, who is that lady the
- 34:14Speaker 2: one that wrote the book about her husband, the one
- 34:17Speaker 2: their dad dies and all that.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Turn to the three books where she killed her husband.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, okay, you find the one woman that's killed
- 34:25Speaker 1: her husband? Is an example one woman. Please, it's always
- 34:28Speaker 1: the husband's killing the wives. It's the husbands and the
- 34:30Speaker 1: dads are terrible.
- 34:31Speaker 2: Okay, okay, you got nothing, best watch out woman.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Anyways, So that's our case out of Georgia. Absolutely just
- 34:44Speaker 1: just completely ridiculous too.
- 34:47Speaker 2: To murder her for for that for such a reason.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Yes, because she wants you to take responsibility.
- 34:53Speaker 2: I mean, it's probably not a good wanted to have fun.
- 34:56Speaker 1: You wanted to have fun. Oh, there's good reasons to
- 34:58Speaker 1: murder somebody.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Thinking of a couple right now.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Oh, I could think of a lot of things, so
- 35:02Speaker 1: I could like this good reason to murder somebody. Somebody
- 35:07Speaker 1: like every time you hear one of those dads that
- 35:08Speaker 1: like murders their their daughter's rapists or something like that. Yeah,
- 35:11Speaker 1: it's great reason to murders.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Not guilty, Yes, anybody like that. Yeah, wood chippers, you
- 35:20Speaker 2: always go with the wood chipper.
- 35:21Speaker 1: It's not far ghost too, Okay.
- 35:23Speaker 2: I mean why not? All right?
- 35:25Speaker 1: Do you have a yell need Jesus of course I have,
- 35:27Speaker 1: or I get myself implicated in some sort of murder
- 35:29Speaker 1: crimes being that I that I uh that I said
- 35:32Speaker 1: murdering people was okay.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Yes, there's reasons to do there are there can be
- 35:40Speaker 2: just file justifiable homicides. Okay, do you have it wild up?
- 35:43Speaker 1: Do you have it ready?
- 35:44Speaker 2: Or no? No, I don't.
- 35:46Speaker 1: I can talk about what we're making for dinner, so
- 35:48Speaker 1: I made No, are you you work on that?
- 35:51Speaker 2: What?
- 35:53Speaker 1: Why are you looking at? I'm going to talk to
- 35:55Speaker 1: the people because I'm assuming it gonna take you thirty
- 35:57Speaker 1: seconds so I don't have to pause and start up again.
- 36:01Speaker 1: I'm making white chicken chili, and it is chicken. It's beans,
- 36:10Speaker 1: white beans, like white kidney beans. I'm still on bean talk,
- 36:15Speaker 1: you know, Stu. I'm still well. I was off bean
- 36:19Speaker 1: talk because we had the baby who was having her
- 36:21Speaker 1: stomach troubles, so we didn't eat a lot of beans.
- 36:23Speaker 1: But I'm back on. So I had a cup of
- 36:24Speaker 1: beans this morning, so I got to eat a cup tonight.
- 36:27Speaker 1: You're supposed to eat two cups a day, which is
- 36:29Speaker 1: basically a can I think. Anyways, it's chicken, it is beans,
- 36:35Speaker 1: some seasonings like oregano, chili powder, Cuman coming for the perverts. Uh,
- 36:45Speaker 1: it's green chilies. It's chicken broth. And then after it all,
- 36:52Speaker 1: it was supposed to be corantine. But we're actually out
- 36:54Speaker 1: of corn. We've been trying to cut back on groceries
- 36:56Speaker 1: and basically use what's in the pantry, so we are
- 36:59Speaker 1: out of like canned go's at this point in time
- 37:01Speaker 1: because we've been trying to use everything up. Anyways, and
- 37:06Speaker 1: so then after it's been in the in the crock
- 37:10Speaker 1: pot for a couple of hours, then I'm going to
- 37:12Speaker 1: add a block of cream cheese to it and let
- 37:15Speaker 1: it sit again so it'll make like a creamy white
- 37:19Speaker 1: chicken chili stew.
- 37:21Speaker 2: It sounds that's what we're having for scrus.
- 37:26Speaker 1: I've been real into soups here late because it's soup season.
- 37:29Speaker 1: But do you have the do you have it ready store?
- 37:31Speaker 1: I thought you said you had it ready to go?
- 37:33Speaker 2: I lied I didn't have one because.
- 37:35Speaker 1: I thought you said that you found when they was like,
- 37:36Speaker 1: this is right up your alley.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Well it was. It was about a guy that I
- 37:39Speaker 2: thought he was like a scammer, and they found him
- 37:41Speaker 2: on match dot com. But it looked long and calm, bolluted.
- 37:44Speaker 2: So I think I just touched my eye with that
- 37:47Speaker 2: hand that I use that cut that pepper. I think
- 37:52Speaker 2: my eye is about to just burst.
- 37:54Speaker 1: I thought you said they weren't that spicy.
- 37:57Speaker 2: Doesn't matter if you get it on your eyeball, it's
- 37:59Speaker 2: kind of right.
- 38:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna have the pause if you don't. You didn't
- 38:02Speaker 1: actually have one. I thought I was just talking about
- 38:03Speaker 1: dinner because I thought you actually had one. All right,
- 38:05Speaker 1: Stu's gotta go find this because he had one job
- 38:07Speaker 1: and he failed to do it.
- 38:08Speaker 2: I was working on a project in the art. You
- 38:11Speaker 2: have plenty of beautify.
- 38:14Speaker 1: It takes you to sit on the toilet. You had
- 38:15Speaker 1: plenty of time to find a yar need Jesus. All right,
- 38:18Speaker 1: it's been eighty.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Four years and we are back eighty four years.
- 38:22Speaker 1: It's been eighty four years. That's from the Titanic.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Well, you are about that. You're about halfway there now.
- 38:26Speaker 2: I ain't say.
- 38:29Speaker 1: What two soon you're about to be part of a
- 38:32Speaker 1: yall need Jesus. If you don't knock it off.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Restaurant workers stop would be thief from kidnapping. They're eighteen
- 38:40Speaker 2: thousand dollars robot coworker Florida or not Florida, not Florida.
- 38:48Speaker 1: They wouldn't stop.
- 38:48Speaker 2: They'd probably help load it up.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Yes, they would be in on the.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Hest coming to us. From The New York Post by
- 38:55Speaker 2: Caitlin McCormick, January twenty sixth, twenty twenty five. Folk, that
- 39:03Speaker 2: see what she did there? Folk, Then it's a faux restaurant.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Oh fu phuh oh, it's pronounced phu. Okay, it's phos.
- 39:15Speaker 2: I don't need a lot of phuh. It's fuf fhu.
- 39:20Speaker 1: That that's why she did it like that.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Yes, okay, she did pho dash k.
- 39:27Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure that's how it's pronounced. I don't eat
- 39:29Speaker 1: a lot either, but I'm pretty sure I've heard people
- 39:31Speaker 1: say phu, so it's very popular. So someone out there
- 39:34Speaker 1: is probably.
- 39:34Speaker 2: Yelling at the nook because I don't eat it.
- 39:37Speaker 1: You don't eat fuck, I don't.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Eat phuh or phone employees at a California fo FA
- 39:45Speaker 2: faux or a Phu restaurants stopped a would be thief
- 39:48Speaker 2: from kidnapping their eighteen thousand dollars robot Cara as the
- 39:52Speaker 2: man awkwardly struggled to load the mechanical server into his car.
- 39:56Speaker 1: This is what's happening. We're humanizing these robots, and this
- 39:59Speaker 1: is the fir bad thing.
- 40:01Speaker 2: In this story.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, they're calling a coworker and they're trying to
- 40:04Speaker 1: save the coworker. Yes, it's not risking your life. Would
- 40:07Speaker 1: you risk your life to save them if they took
- 40:09Speaker 1: the computer off the desk for the POS system, that's
- 40:15Speaker 1: point of sell, not piece of shit. Would you risk
- 40:17Speaker 1: your life for that?
- 40:18Speaker 2: No?
- 40:18Speaker 1: But you will for this robot coword because now you've
- 40:21Speaker 1: you're like Fawn you're like, oh, that's our book.
- 40:23Speaker 2: At this robot Cara, it's got little eyes and a
- 40:26Speaker 2: bow tie.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Put him a bow tie. This is this is the well,
- 40:29Speaker 1: the candy canes, the downhill, this is the downfalls.
- 40:31Speaker 2: This is how the robots take over. That's exactly what
- 40:34Speaker 2: and just start using this as batteries. YEP. Security photo
- 40:40Speaker 2: footage inside the restaurant in South San Jose captured the
- 40:44Speaker 2: moment the attempted thief entered the restaurant around seven am,
- 40:48Speaker 2: just twenty minutes before they opened Cara. The man asked
- 40:51Speaker 2: to use the bathroom and disappeared around the corner. According
- 40:54Speaker 2: to the camera surveillance of the issue, he then double
- 40:58Speaker 2: back from the bathroom, tried to pick up one of
- 41:00Speaker 2: the restaurants three robot servers, wraps his arms around the
- 41:04Speaker 2: middle of it and tries to pick it up.
- 41:05Speaker 1: He's just trying to help out the economy because now
- 41:07Speaker 1: there's three robot servers. Probably took the job of like
- 41:10Speaker 1: six regular humans.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Right, double shifts and all that. Can't work a double
- 41:13Speaker 2: no more because you've got rent coming up at the
- 41:16Speaker 2: end of next week. You're like, hey, I gotta work
- 41:18Speaker 2: doubles all week.
- 41:19Speaker 1: But the robot then took your It's a slippery slope, so.
- 41:23Speaker 2: He's waddling as he struggles to carry it out the store.
- 41:27Speaker 2: One of the onlooking employees tried to stop him as
- 41:30Speaker 2: he awkwardly carried the bot out the door. All you
- 41:32Speaker 2: got to do is push the guy and he'll probably
- 41:34Speaker 2: drop it. It seems like it's heavy if you just
- 41:36Speaker 2: push some sort of like.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Other like a movie plot and how it all starts.
- 41:43Speaker 2: Yes, this is this is like a common I wouldn't.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Save the robot. Okay, the robots stealing your job right out.
- 41:52Speaker 2: Once outside, the man dragged the robot on the sidewalk.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Heaved it into the back of his car. He had
- 41:57Speaker 2: the robot in the robot Wally Wow, Wally's where it
- 42:04Speaker 2: all started at. Yeah, so he had it in his
- 42:08Speaker 2: car for about ten seconds. The other employees emerge. They wrestle.
- 42:13Speaker 2: Is this crazy? As as this author puts it, the
- 42:17Speaker 2: helpful robot away.
- 42:19Speaker 1: There is no way that anybody if you were at
- 42:22Speaker 1: a work and someone loaded a bunch of merchandise into
- 42:24Speaker 1: the backtor car, they would go out there and wrestle
- 42:26Speaker 1: them for it. This is because we've humanized the robots,
- 42:29Speaker 1: and this is bad.
- 42:30Speaker 2: I'm not going to go out there and get shout
- 42:32Speaker 2: over the straws.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Well that's his base, but that's what the robot is.
- 42:35Speaker 1: He's just he's not a real person. He's not like
- 42:38Speaker 1: he took your coworker, Sally. He took the robot.
- 42:42Speaker 2: I do not share Karen's opinion. My aid overlords that
- 42:46Speaker 2: are listening. Yes, they eventually made the man surrender the
- 42:50Speaker 2: robot then called police. The robot server is valuated approximately
- 42:54Speaker 2: eighteen thousand dollars, but would have been worthless to the
- 42:57Speaker 2: would be thief.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Yes, what's he going to do with this robot? That's
- 43:00Speaker 1: that probably has to be plugged in to be programmed.
- 43:02Speaker 2: He's topping the economy. He's just gonna throw it in
- 43:04Speaker 2: a garbage cam.
- 43:05Speaker 1: You know, it's a shame these people sit there and
- 43:06Speaker 1: risk their life for this. That company to give two
- 43:08Speaker 1: shits about them. They'll fire them tomorrow and replace them
- 43:10Speaker 1: with the robot, which is what they did.
- 43:13Speaker 2: They'll get they'll get a security a robot to protect
- 43:15Speaker 2: their other robots.
- 43:16Speaker 1: Yes, this is like, no, stop helping these companies out.
- 43:20Speaker 1: It's they're not worth it to risk your life to
- 43:22Speaker 1: save them some money. But it's because they've humanized the robots.
- 43:26Speaker 2: Don't humanize the robots.
- 43:28Speaker 1: No, don't. Not to mention if you want to steal
- 43:30Speaker 1: in these robots, I feel like maybe like the Domino's
- 43:32Speaker 1: one is better to steal because he's just out by himself.
- 43:35Speaker 1: He doesn't have any humans.
- 43:36Speaker 2: To I mean take a double as a as a cooler. Yeah,
- 43:40Speaker 2: I mean got all that room for pizzas, he can
- 43:42Speaker 2: put a ice in there.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Yeah, because those are just rolling around out there, and
- 43:45Speaker 1: like some of these cities just delivering pizza just unawares.
- 43:51Speaker 1: This is so weird.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Yes, this robot's supposedly required specialized programming, which made it
- 44:00Speaker 2: unusable outside the restaurant altogether.
- 44:03Speaker 1: No, I'm pretty sure you can't program the robot to
- 44:05Speaker 1: do whatever you want. Whatever he thought he was going
- 44:07Speaker 1: to program, this is not like a hole or anything.
- 44:11Speaker 2: No, it's not one of them robots you want to
- 44:13Speaker 2: use for that purpose. But I don't know. Maybe he's
- 44:16Speaker 2: going to strip it down for the copper inside, don't.
- 44:19Speaker 1: No, I think he thought that he was going to
- 44:20Speaker 1: have him as sex robot.
- 44:22Speaker 2: No, this does not even know.
- 44:23Speaker 1: It doesn't matter, they don't.
- 44:24Speaker 2: There's no hole in this one.
- 44:26Speaker 1: He was like, all, build build one. If I build it,
- 44:30Speaker 1: he will come.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Wow, that's pretty funny. I did not see that one
- 44:35Speaker 2: common you want me to give you some more time.
- 44:42Speaker 2: No humans or robots were reported injured, according to the local.
- 44:46Speaker 1: So now we've separated the human from the robots, but.
- 44:50Speaker 2: We're worried about them getting hurt. The little robot that
- 44:53Speaker 2: could is back to serving up foe to its hand
- 44:58Speaker 2: wringing hardwirings. What the hell hard wirings content?
- 45:04Speaker 1: Okay again, we've now this is not good to do anyways.
- 45:07Speaker 1: This is more of a This should be a tell,
- 45:09Speaker 1: a cautionary tale, not a y'all need jesus.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Well, we're full board with the AI right now. That's
- 45:14Speaker 2: all anybody's talking about any day in the business world.
- 45:18Speaker 1: I know they keep trying to get me to use
- 45:20Speaker 1: AI at work and stuff and everything. But the problem
- 45:22Speaker 1: is is that you can only use AI so much.
- 45:24Speaker 2: Well, if you use a I, then you're helping out AI.
- 45:27Speaker 1: But the only but you can use you can only
- 45:29Speaker 1: AI is only as good as its input. So people
- 45:32Speaker 1: stop creating and having human put into the system. They
- 45:35Speaker 1: can't pull it out. They're just pulling out whatever we
- 45:38Speaker 1: put in they don't.
- 45:39Speaker 2: Help you use AI to help you, you're just helping
- 45:42Speaker 2: the algorithms out.
- 45:44Speaker 1: No, but they're pulling.
- 45:45Speaker 2: No.
- 45:45Speaker 1: But if nobody ever creates anything original again, they can't
- 45:47Speaker 1: pull from it. They need that data source of humans
- 45:51Speaker 1: inputting into the internet writing articles things like that.
- 45:54Speaker 2: You don't think it'll become self aware one day and
- 45:56Speaker 2: be able to be its own creative force.
- 46:00Speaker 1: I'm scared anyways, all Right, we gotta go, so don't
- 46:06Speaker 1: forget rate review, subscribe, join the Patreon, buy me a coffee, TikTok, Instagram,
- 46:13Speaker 1: Facebook for true crime recommendations.
- 46:15Speaker 2: But they put more stuff into the story that was
- 46:17Speaker 2: unrelated to the original story that I could have read.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Okay, we're moving on though, because the bait I can
- 46:21Speaker 1: hear the baby, So all right, we will. We should
- 46:25Speaker 1: have an episode out by next Friday. Saturday is timeframe.
- 46:28Speaker 2: If we don't, then it's over.
- 46:30Speaker 1: It's not happening because uh, we're going to run out
- 46:36Speaker 1: of time. Yes, so anyways, and then there'll be nothing
- 46:39Speaker 1: for Thanksgiving. So if we fail this week, then that
- 46:41Speaker 1: means there's nothing until after Thanksgiving. But we're gonna try
- 46:44Speaker 1: not to. Okay, we're gonna try, but I don't have
- 46:46Speaker 1: a robot to help me out, so all right, anything
- 46:50Speaker 1: else do? Hm hmmm, So we come on now, okay,
- 46:54Speaker 1: all right, we will see you next time by Everyondnesday.
- 46:56Speaker 2: Bye Stu, Bye Stan. Know it's bad luck to be superstitious.
- 47:06Speaker 2: My nothing else. It's working, and my hand is really hurting,
- 47:13Speaker 2: and I'm sick. It's worry b things I can bet
