- 0:28Speaker 2: amazing things has happened to me over the years, and
- 0:35Speaker 2: not all of them good. It's been some amazingly bad
- 0:38Speaker 2: things that have happened too. But I just come on
- 0:42Speaker 2: in the morning as a reminder to everybody of the
- 0:47Speaker 2: actual goodness of God. That you know, man, that these
- 0:50Speaker 2: mistakes that you're making, that these setbacks that you keep having,
- 0:55Speaker 2: that these falls that keep occurring in your life, if
- 1:00Speaker 2: they all are leading you somewhere, if you just don't
- 1:02Speaker 2: ever give up, that's the key. You can never ever
- 1:07Speaker 2: give up because you don't know how the trip has
- 1:11Speaker 2: been laid out for you.
- 1:14Speaker 3: You know, if somebody had told me.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Years ago when I had the dream of being on
- 1:19Speaker 2: TV and then I thought about being one of one
- 1:23Speaker 2: of the best comedians I could be, you know, when
- 1:26Speaker 2: I when I start. If somebody had told me everything
- 1:31Speaker 2: that was gonna have to happen in order for me
- 1:33Speaker 2: to get there, I would have changed it.
- 1:36Speaker 3: I would have I.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Would have said, Okay, well I ain't gonna be that.
- 1:40Speaker 2: How about this? See and no one can know all
- 1:45Speaker 2: of the events of their life ahead of time. You know,
- 1:48Speaker 2: it'd be so nice, wouldn't it. You know, to prepare
- 1:50Speaker 2: for it, see it come, and be aware of the haters,
- 1:56Speaker 2: always knowing when the backstabbing moment is coming in your life,
- 2:01Speaker 2: always knowing when you're gonna get blindsided by the enemy.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Were really great to know that, wouldn't it. Well, that's
- 2:07Speaker 2: not how it works. So since no one knows exactly
- 2:14Speaker 2: the challenges and the pitfalls and the detools that's gonna
- 2:17Speaker 2: be set them, it's it's it's imperative that you just
- 2:22Speaker 2: don't give up. Because see, knowing these things, we as
- 2:29Speaker 2: human beings by nature, would choose another route. But it
- 2:33Speaker 2: ain't the route God God for you, though. See the
- 2:36Speaker 2: route God God for you. If you if you're trying
- 2:39Speaker 2: to do the right thing, if you're doing the best
- 2:41Speaker 2: you can, if you ain't out here just intentionally just
- 2:45Speaker 2: messing over folks, if you using faith, and that's the
- 2:49Speaker 2: belief in things that you cannot see. If you have
- 2:53Speaker 2: something on the inside of you to keep saying there's
- 2:55Speaker 2: got to be more to life than that, then that's
- 2:58Speaker 2: that's you.
- 2:59Speaker 3: You, my in have a great chance here.
- 3:03Speaker 2: And if you've ever had that feeling then gave up
- 3:05Speaker 2: on it, just get it back, Just ask for it back,
- 3:09Speaker 2: Just say, hey, man, I'm getting back to the way
- 3:11Speaker 2: I used to be because there's a change that's available
- 3:15Speaker 2: in your life, but you got to take it.
- 3:18Speaker 3: You got to take a shot at it. Folks. There's
- 3:20Speaker 3: a chance for you to get it right, but you
- 3:23Speaker 3: gotta take a shot at it. Folks.
- 3:24Speaker 2: There's a chance for you to turn this whole thing
- 3:27Speaker 2: around with God's help, but you gotta take a shot
- 3:30Speaker 2: at it. You see, this decision is yours. The decision
- 3:35Speaker 2: to lay down, to give up, that's yours. It ain't
- 3:37Speaker 2: even just got too hard for me. Life too much, man,
- 3:41Speaker 2: life hard and too much for everybody.
- 3:43Speaker 3: What I got to get you to see?
- 3:46Speaker 2: My father used to always tell me, it says some
- 3:48Speaker 2: best lessons in life, to born your value and learn
- 3:51Speaker 2: the most is a bout lesson. I didn't quite understand that,
- 3:55Speaker 2: being young, but I showed got it.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Now.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Ain't no lesson like about lesson and the one you
- 4:00Speaker 2: pay for. Those are the ones that hold to you,
- 4:04Speaker 2: that stick to you, that that start turning you into
- 4:07Speaker 2: who you're going to be. Those are the character builders. See,
- 4:12Speaker 2: you got to be forged to get to where you
- 4:14Speaker 2: want to go in life. See, that's what the challenge
- 4:16Speaker 2: is and missteps is for that's what the failing is about.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Now. I know you don't like it.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I didn't. I know you're not comfortable with I wouldn't.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I know you wish it was over sooner than later.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I always do. I always want it to be over
- 4:31Speaker 2: sooner than later because the later, Man, it just seems
- 4:34Speaker 2: like it's so much I got to go through. But
- 4:37Speaker 2: let me tell you something, Man, if you can, if
- 4:41Speaker 2: you can forge your way through it and understand that
- 4:43Speaker 2: you are forged in life, I don't know. I was
- 4:48Speaker 2: on TBN one time when I was doing one of
- 4:50Speaker 2: my motivational speeches, and I began to wonder about this
- 4:56Speaker 2: experience I had at Ford Motor Company and my last
- 5:00Speaker 2: job after the auto industry started going down, My last
- 5:03Speaker 2: job was in the foundry and my job was to
- 5:07Speaker 2: stand at the end almost where the engines first come
- 5:12Speaker 2: out of the furnace. See, the engines are poured into
- 5:16Speaker 2: a mold. It's hot, melted down metal whatever they call it,
- 5:20Speaker 2: lava or whatever. They pour it into a mold and
- 5:23Speaker 2: it goes into this furnace that's extremely hot. And my
- 5:27Speaker 2: job was after the heat was applied to the engine block,
- 5:33Speaker 2: it would come through and it would go through a
- 5:36Speaker 2: hardening stage. With the way it was hardening, they would
- 5:38Speaker 2: cool it. Suddenly they would flush it with water. It
- 5:42Speaker 2: was just blast water on it. But the fire and
- 5:45Speaker 2: the high temperature is what made the engine block solidify
- 5:51Speaker 2: it because it's got to get real hot, get melted
- 5:54Speaker 2: down first. Then it's got to get poured into a mole.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Then it's got to be pressure hit with water and
- 6:01Speaker 2: all of this, and then it and it's real hot.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Now it's still hot even though this water being shatter.
- 6:06Speaker 2: But when it comes out the end of the side,
- 6:08Speaker 2: there's a lot of flashing in it. It flashing is
- 6:11Speaker 2: a metal from that to drip through the cast molding
- 6:14Speaker 2: on it, just like flex of extra pieces of metal.
- 6:18Speaker 2: My job was to hit this engine block in the front,
- 6:23Speaker 2: which is huge heavy rubber mallet knock all the flashing
- 6:29Speaker 2: off the front and when it came around back to bam,
- 6:32Speaker 2: hit it real hard again on the backside, and that
- 6:36Speaker 2: became the core of what the car is. A car
- 6:40Speaker 2: without a great engine is nothing. It's just a pretty
- 6:43Speaker 2: looking vehicle over there. But if it can't do what
- 6:46Speaker 2: it was made to do because the engine blocked then cracked. See,
- 6:50Speaker 2: you can have a car look real good, but if
- 6:51Speaker 2: it freezes an engine block cracked your car, you could
- 6:55Speaker 2: it's over man.
- 6:56Speaker 3: You got to get a new block. The block is
- 6:58Speaker 3: the core.
- 6:59Speaker 2: But in order for for the car to do what
- 7:01Speaker 2: it's got to do, it's got to have a strong engine.
- 7:03Speaker 1: It.
- 7:03Speaker 2: In order for the engine to be strong, it's got
- 7:06Speaker 2: to be forged and steel, come through fire, get poured
- 7:09Speaker 2: in a mole, cooled off, heated, knocked around, beat on
- 7:14Speaker 2: the front end, beat on the back end, and order
- 7:16Speaker 2: for it to be what it's gonna be. The mall
- 7:18Speaker 2: of the story, folks, is you got to get forged
- 7:22Speaker 2: in fire to be what you're gonna be. You got
- 7:25Speaker 2: to get beat up, you got to get pressure washed,
- 7:28Speaker 2: you got to have heat on you, you got to
- 7:30Speaker 2: get melted down, you got to get pulled into a mole.
- 7:33Speaker 3: That's how you become who you are.
- 7:36Speaker 2: So the tough things that you're going through, the difficult
- 7:39Speaker 2: challenges and the setbacks. I know a brother who went
- 7:41Speaker 2: to prison, ma'am. And the whole reason he ended up
- 7:45Speaker 2: going to prison because he was looking out the little window,
- 7:47Speaker 2: looking out in the yard at him working out. And
- 7:50Speaker 2: then the next thing you know, man, this brother decided
- 7:52Speaker 2: that he was gonna go out there and work out.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Well, guess what. He's one of the top trainers in
- 7:58Speaker 3: country today. He is the Steve Harvey Morning Show
